Sitting up, you double-check yourself in the rear view mirror before looking around for your customer. It's only been a couple of months since you started selling weed, and it was anything but serious. You only served people you knew personally, and today you were serving your crush from your 10am english class you sat behind on Tuesdays and Thursdays. He wasn't much of a talker the first few weeks in class, but after the teacher put you in a group together, you and him regularly spoke and exchanged notes, eventually exchanging numbers, for class purposes of course.
Your heart quickens as Choso emerges from his front door across the street in dark grey sweatpants, a baggy black long sleeve, and slides. His hair is down instead of being tied up in his regular spikey double bun style, which surprised you. He jogs over to the car, using his hand to comb his hair back out of his face as he opens the passenger door, and takes the seat next to you, "Hey, sorry for the wait." He turns to face you as he shuts the door behind him. He smiles as you reach for your backpack.
"All good," you smile, "You're gonna like what I got for you today, Choso." His eyes watch you dig through your backpack. "I got a quarter of this gorilla glue #4 and a quarter of this forbidden fruit. Both will slump you. I remember you tellin me in class you prefer indicas over sativas so I brought you two of my favorites." Handing Choso the jar of the forbidden fruit you watch him open it to smell and inspect the nugs, which are vibrant shades of purple and green. The black line over his nose scrunches as he inhales the dank aroma.
"This one smells so.. " he trails off and takes a second to think, "Purple?" he looks over at you and shrugs.
You smile, "Funny you say that because I thought the same thing when I first tried it."
"Really?" He chuckles softly, "I just can't think of any other way to describe it." His nose is back in the jar, and he closes his eyes, slightly resting his face on the rim, fully trying to submerge himself in the smell.
"Just wait until you try it," you reach for the other quarter in your bag. Opening the jar, you hand it over to Choso whose eyes widen in excitement.
"This one isn't called gorilla glue for no reason," a smirk graces your lips, "will literally glue you to the couch. Trust me when I say that."
"I believe you," he turns to pull his wallet out of his sweatpants pocket, "How much do you want for both quarters?" His tired eyes rest on yours.
"Hmmm, for you, Choso.." You pause, eyes drifting to his lips, rejecting the notion of ambiguity. In class, you tried your best to keep from flirting, but now that you're both here, in your car, at night, it was a different story, "I can do 70, total." Your eyes sparkle, and he tries to ignore his increasing heart rate. Choso never really made an effort to pursue any girl really, with all of his attention going to caring for all his siblings, finding a partner was just defaulted to the back burner.
"Well aren't you sweet, giving me a discount?" He smiles, handing you a crisp hundred dollar bill, trying to keep his cool, his eyes briefly glancing at your lips, "you can keep the change." You took the money and pulled out your wallet as Choso went back to examining the nugs.
"Are you sure? I have change." You look down at the bill and back at him.
"Don't worry about it." He smiles at your courtesy, the 2 Mason jars resting in his lap, "I want you to have it." You smile and blush, turning away to hide your red cheeks, putting the money in your wallet.
"So," He continued, before you could thank him, "I was planning on smoking some of this now since my siblings are all either asleep or in their rooms," He says, subtlety checking you out from the passenger side, admiring your profile, "if you'd be interested in joining me."
"I'm down to smoke," you say reaching for your water bottle to get a drink, the thought of you guys finally smoking together made you slightly nervous. The clock read 10:47pm and you remembered you both had class tomorrow at 10 am, "I shouldn't stay for long, though. Being up before 10 for class is tough for me sometimes."
He nods, understanding, "Stay for at least one joint." Imitating a puppy, he tilts his head to the side, "Besides, we always talk about smoking together in class. Now's a good time." Choso pushes his bottom lip out, pouting with raised eyebrows, while poking your arm playfully.
"Alright, one joint, maybe two." How could you not give in? The rain stopped, and the damp air chills your lungs as you step out of the car in tandem with Choso. Slinging your bag over your shoulder, you follow him across the street to his front door. You're wearing your favorite pair of dark gray leggings with a black tank top under a big oversized dark green flannel you buttoned up, swimming in the fabric. Hair tossed up in a messy bun, fringe framing your face. You weren't expecting him to invite you to smoke after you sold him a bag, honestly.
He leads you inside, which is dimly lit but very clean and neat. You follow him through the darkness to his garage, and inside is a dark blue couch, coupled with a big folded blanket and a few pillows. In front of the couch is a coffee table, littered with a few books, pens, a purple grinder, and an ashtray.
Choso sets the jars on the coffee table and turns to toss a few pillows to the side on the couch, "Here get comfortable," you sit down as he hands you his purple grinder, "You wanna roll while I put something on?" He grabs the remote and sits next to you.
"I gotchu." You sit and set your bag down on the floor. Opening the jar of the gorilla glue, you begin to roll a joint for the two of you as he flicks through movies before finally settling on one he'd knew you'd like. Pineapple Express.
"Wow, you did that really fast," he continues watching as you pack the joint, then twist the end, "I'm impressed."
"I roll a lot. I'm what some would call a heavy user." You smile, looking for the lighter you could've sworn you had in your shirt pocket.
"Here," he sets his purple lighter on the table, "You can spark it, I'm gonna get us some popcorn before we start the movie," Choso rises and disappears into his house.
You sit and take in your surroundings. There was a bench press far behind the couch with weights next to it. There was a beat up looking skateboard tucked under the couch by your feet, and a pile of bikes, (probably his siblings’) gathered in a corner. Turning back to the TV, you spark the lighter, roasting the tip of the joint, waiting for Choso.
He returns with a bowl of popcorn and pauses by the light switch. "Is it okay if I turn this off?" He asks before sitting back down again, hesitating, waiting to make sure you're comfortable in the dark with him.
"Oh, yeah, this is fine," The TV and the cherry of the joint glimmer in the dark. He sits down next to you as the movie begins.
You bring the joint to your lips and inhale, taking the smoke deep within your lungs, making sure not to blow the smoke out directly into his face, "Mm, the flavor of this never gets old." You hit the joint one more time before passing it to Choso, who dusts off his hand on his leg before trading you the popcorn for the joint. The familiar smell of the smoke is now filling the room as the TV flickers in front of you two.
You watch him take his first hit, and he coughs after he exhales, "Damn, that's a hitter."
"Don't cough, don't get off," you say, giggling as you hand him your water bottle, which, to your surprise, he gladly takes a few sips from. The indirect kiss makes you blush a bit. 'I mean technically anytime he hits the joint, it's an indirect kiss,' you think to yourself, feeling a bit silly. It's been a while since you felt like this.
You take your shoes off and hug your knees to your chest on the couch, getting comfortable. Choso passes you the joint as the wind shakes the garage door, causing a chill to hit your spine.
"Are you cold?" Before you can answer, he pulls the blanket folded over the back of the couch and scoots to the center, his eyes trying to gauge if you're comfortable,"Is this okay?" His voice is soft and gentle.
You scoot towards him, in silent response, the smoke enveloping you in a haze, highlighted by the flicker from the TV, as the joint teeters on the edge of your smile, and Choso slightly panics to himself. He's never been this close to a girl before, but he feels safe around you. He settles his arm on the back of the couch as you nuzzle in and sink into his side under the blanket, the oncoming high, settling any nervousness you felt about the gesture.
"This is good. Thank you, Choso." You smile up at him before taking the joint out of your mouth and handing it back. He takes it, and his eyes lock onto yours, for a moment, and he realizes he is enjoying this new feeling of you so close to him. He feels something new begin to take root within his heart, as he feels you against him.
"O-of course," His voice is rough from coughing, causing your heart to flutter. He tries to keep his cool as he hits the joint and turns to watch the movie. You giggle, mostly because of the high, then scoot into him more, blushing at his closeness. He passes the joint back down to you. His arm, over your shoulder, now pulls you in closer, unable to fight the urge.
As you breathe in the smoke from the joint, you feel like you're sinking, as if the couch had its own gravitational pull, but it's a good familiar feeling. He leans in closer to you as you share the joint, the heat from both of your bodies mingling under the blanket while the garage shakes again from the wind. The two of you sheltered by the smoke, eyes red and faces smug as you laugh together watching the movie.
As you lean over towards the ashtray, the ash trail falls on the blanket, "Oh shit," you giggle, hitting the blanket from under to knock the ash on the floor, "My bad, didn't mean to ash on your blanket." At that moment, both of your phones let out a notification letting you know that class is canceled tomorrow.
"Hey, look at that." Choso leans down into you, "Professor canceled class. Guess that means you can stay for another joint?" He raises an eyebrow and smirks.
"Sounds fine to me, I'm too comfortable right now to move anyway." You pull the blanket up to your chin and smile, hitting the joint before passing it back to him.
"Good, because I have a bad case of the munchies right now and could really go for some takeout." He pinches the joint filter and hits the half smoked joint. Before you could say anything, your stomach rumbles, and Choso smiles, "Sounds like you are too. It'll be my treat since you brought me some gas tonight."
"Do you always treat your plug to dinner and a show?" You lick the resin off your lips, catching his gaze.
"Only when they're as cute as you are." The words fell out of his mouth before he could catch them, his anxiety totally settled by God's sweet gift of purple. After he hits the joint a few times, he passes it to you and takes out his phone, browsing what places are open late, trying to take his mind off of these new feelings welling within him, "What are you in the mood for?" His red eyes look down at you, his hair framing his face, "I could go for Chinese." He uses his broad shoulders to squeeze you, the high making him want to feel you close.
You cough, "Honestly me too," you pull the smoke into your mouth from the joint and inhale through your nose as it ghosts out your mouth, "would love some chow mein and egg rolls right now." You hand him the joint back. He takes it while still looking at his phone.
"Damn." He frowns, putting his phone away, his arm around you squeezing you again. You watch him bring the joint to his lips. The feeling of his frame cradling you under the blanket made you relax.
"What is it?" The haze from smoking has you feeling like you're flying on a magic carpet, the troubles of yesterday, light-years behind you as you blush at his strong touch.
"No Chinese place is open now. It's like past 11." He passes you the joint, and you take it in your lips, hitting it once before putting it out.
"Damn, that sucks. Talking about it got me all excited." You bury your face in his side under the blanket, inhaling his scent mixed with the smell of the weed, the high making it all the more blissful. He giggles and pulls you into him more, his heart quickening as he tells himself it's from the weed.
"I know. I'm sorry. Hey, how about this?" He looks down at you under the blanket, dawning a gentle smile, "there's a 24-hour gas station 10 minutes from here if we walk. Sounds like the rain stopped, too. Are you down for a little night walk? We could smoke on the way, get some snacks, drinks." He raises an eyebrow at you, earning a giggle.
"Sure, It's just hella cold outside. I need to get my hoodie from the car." You speak into his side.
"You're cute, I have one for you." He gets up and goes to his room and returns wearing a dark purple hoodie, handing you his old beat up Thrasher hoodie, "Here, it's the only clean one I have right now." You stand up and pull your flannel over your head like a shirt since it's so big. Choso looks away at the sight of you in your tight black tank top, not wanting you to feel uncomfortable under his gaze, even though you didn't. You pull the hoodie over your head, the bottom reaching past your butt.
"It's pretty big on you. Do you want to see if I can find a smaller one for you?" He scratches his head, trying not to feel awkward with himself.
"No, I like this," you smile at him and do a little twirl in his hoodie, hugging yourself, "This one smells like you. It is so fresh and clean. I like it."
"Well, it's all yours tonight." He blushes at the sight of you wearing his hoodie. He grabs your hand, and you take a step closer, "It suits you, you look good."
"Oh stop, you don't mean that," you say reactively to the compliment. Since your last man cheated on you, it was an understatement to say that your self-esteem was still recovering from the incident 3 months ago.
"Hey woah, what's up with that? Do you want me not to compliment you?" He squeezes your hand in his, as his other gently pets the top of your head, trying to get you to look up at him.
"I'll tell you while you roll this next joint. " You bring him over to the couch lazily, leading him with his hand in yours. He sits down and starts picking out nugs of the forbidden fruit, the movie forgotten as he turns his attention towards you. 'Why wouldn't she want to be called beautiful?' Choso thinks to himself as you bring your knees to your chest.
"So my boyfriend, well ex now, cheated on me a little less than 4 months ago. In our new place together too, so, I don't know." You shrug, sighing, "Its been fucking with my self esteem ever since so, I've kinda let myself fade to the background, you know?" It was hard to explain everything, the high causing you to muddy your explanation.
"I understand. How long was the lease?" He grinds down the weed.
"Unfortunately, 10 months. I still live with him now. Need to wait about 7 more months before I can leave."
"Oh, damn." He stops, "That's... rough, I'm sorry he would put you through that." His tone is soft as he speaks. There's so much more he wants to say, but he doesn't know how to say it. Is it even his place to speak his mind so freely to you about your life? He knows he could treat you so much better than that. He sets down the grinder and starts folding the filter, inclining to listen more.
"Yeah, I've been lying real low since then. She was someone he told me not to worry about." You sigh, that familiar bitter taste of betrayal coming up and burning like acid within your heart.
"I-I wow, I'm shocked. That's really fucked up. How long were you guys together?" He opens the grinder and looks over at you, thinking about how hard it must be to be around your ex still.
"4 years," you sigh before pausing, eyes glazing over before you mumble, "long time." You go limp against the couch, surrendering to its pull, stretching out your limbs. Choso quietly finishes rolling the joint as he gives you space to continue, "Yeah, you're like the only person I fuck with now really, even though this is the first time we've hung out together off campus." You smile at him.
"Well, I'm honored, truly." his words are genuine. He twists the end of the joint and puts it in his mouth before he stands up.
"Come on, let's forget about all that stuff tonight and just chill out together, okay? I feel like you need it." He holds out his hand for you, the gentleness radiating from his smile makes it hard not to intertwine your fingers with his, and he pulls you up from the couch. You guys never touched like this before, but you weren't complaining. Who could deny comfort from someone as gentle and kind as him in rough times like these?
"You're right," you shyly pull up the hood and cover your face with the other hand, taking a deep breath, "I do need to relax." He smiles and pulls you ahead of him, hugging you from behind, your back against his chest as he leads you out of the garage through the side door. The drum of your heart beats in your ear as you realize he's probably just extra touchy cause he's high, his head nuzzling into your neck. Or maybe he does feel the same? Savoring in his gentle grip, you try to ignore that questioning voice in your head.
You both stand under the flickering light outside by the door, fingers loosely intertwined, and he pulls his hood up in reaction to a cool gust. Looking at you, he releases your hand to light the joint in his lips, his other hand cupping the joint to block the wind. He hits it a few times and holds out his hand for you as he starts to walk towards the sidewalk.
You stroll together through the night, passing the joint between the two of you as you hold tight to his arm. At one point, Choso takes out his phone and puts on some music to play as you walk together. The both of you occasionally sing along and swing your interlocked fingers somewhat intoxicated on the energy you share together. Lights from the glowing store illuminate the night as you two approach. He lets go of your hand to put the smoldering joint filter out on his shoe before opening the door for you. He leads you to the cold refrigerator doors near the back where the drinks are. Opening the door, Choso grabs two Sapporo tall boys and then closes the door, looking over at you.
"I don't know about you, but I feel like drinking tonight," he chimes, his features now totally visible thanks to the humming LED lights of the gas station. His bloodshot eyes are a deep brown, and droopy. His smile, relaxed and easy, "I know you still need to drive home tonight, so don't let me pressure you into drinking." Choso knows what he wants to say next, but he doesn't know exactly how to say it. He scratches his head with his free hand, the other holding two 22-oz beer cans. "I mean, you totally can drink, I'm not your boss. If you need to, you can stay the night." The last sentence left his mouth with the tone of a question; was he asking you? Himself? Or was he asking himself if it was okay for him to ask you? Before he knew it, Choso was working himself into a knot over you.
"I'll stay," your voice rasps, and you cough, your throat dry from smoking in the cold. "I'll drink with you tonight." You walk over to the same refrigerator and grab the same size Sapparo as him. He smiles at you, the tension melting when you smile back, your nonchalant response making him realize he may be overthinking.
You guys meander through the store slowly. The radio plays the latest hits through a broken muffled speaker behind the counter, and you find yourselves at the register with nachos, soda, beer and a small bottle of vodka that Choso kindly asks the man from behind the counter to retrieve for him. "Are you cool with some vodka?" He turns to ask you at the counter, his hand going to fish his wallet out of his pocket.
"Oh yeah, I love vodka." The excitement of getting crossfaded with Choso only made you think about where this night was headed. He certainly was a very handsome individual. You've admitted to yourself already that he is someone you desire, but now that this is all happening, you are wondering how far you might go. After the painful breakup with Suguru, you vowed to yourself that you wouldn't date for a while in order to heal, but now that vow felt like it was being challenged. How far was too far for you? And at what point is the point of no return? The beep of the card reader pulls you out of your thoughts. Choso grabs the bag full of goodies and smiles at you, turning towards the door. His hand extends out to you.
"You there, Major Tom?" He references a David Bowie song he played on the way to the store, noticing you've zoned out.
"Ha, sorry, I'm high as fuck right now." You say almost in a whisper and the softness of your voice does something to him. He shakes it off as the cold wind bites his pale cheeks. Pulling out his phone, he checks the time, 11:50pm. "Almost midnight." He holds the door open with his foot for you.
"Yeah, it's late." You shiver, and he puts his arm around your shoulder, pulling you into his side in a way that's almost too casual, rubbing your arm to warm you up. Choso cracks open the vodka and takes a shot before handing it to you.
"This should warm you up at least a little bit." He hands you the vodka, and you take a few swigs, the cold dry liquid curing your cotton mouth. You walk through the night together, the conversation flowing between the two of you seamlessly as you pass the vodka back and forth for a couple shots before he puts it away.
"Let's hurry before you freeze over. Your fingers are almost blue." After he opens the door, you guys are quickly back sitting next to each other on the couch, your faces pale and rosey from the chilled midnight hour.
Choso stands up again and streches, taking off his hoodie, his shirt riding up slightly, pale skin peaking through. He sits next to you, his hair and shirt all disheveled, eyes dry and red. Stretching out on the couch next to him, you laugh, leaning into his side, the alcohol making you extra giggly and Choso dawns a goofy smile, chuckling. He pokes your side playfully, threatening to tickle you, but he retreats after you beg him not to. He's really enjoying your company and feels like the night just keeps getting better. Especially with you staying the night now. Which, truthfully makes him very nervous since he's never stayed the night with anyone like this before, let alone a girl.
You guys settle back into your spot from earlier and his hair covers his eyes as he peeks at you from his peripheral. You've already started rolling the weed in the paper, fringe framing your face, and Choso notices how red your lips are from the cold still.
You smile and turn to watch him as you lick the glue of the paper and seal the joint. Twisting the tip, you rest the mouthpiece in your lips and light the tip with his purple lighter. Soon after, the two of you are munching on some nachos, drinking beers cozied up to each other under the blanket, passing the joint between you, watching another movie, truly enjoying each other's intoxicated company. The feeling of the alcohol and weed mixing together, a warmth blooming within you, knocking off the night chill, you start to feel euphoric, alone here with him.
After a while, snacks and drinks discarded, you turn and watch Choso as he hits the mostly finished fourth joint when you notice something. He's pulling the smoke into his mouth but not inhaling it into his lungs, which gives you an idea. A small devious smile curls the corners of your mouth. He notices the look and furrows his brow.
"What is it?" He asks, his hand resting over your shoulder rubs your arm, pulling you in closer, his curiosity peaked.
"I wanna try something. Pull the smoke in your mouth again and let it drift out. Don’t inhale all the way. It's a smoke trick." Confused, he does what you ask. Your hand snakes around his neck, and he thinks you're about to kiss him when you bring him down to you, inches from your face. The smoke drifts out of his mouth, and you inhale it into yours, brushing his lip with yours softly, and you earn a small surprised groan from him. You pull away and giggle at Choso, who's left there, stunned, now a visible shade of red. You blow the smoke back into his face, causing his eyelids to flutter, and you can visibly see him swoon.
"It's okay, you can breathe." Your words are slightly slurred, as the liquid courage urges you into his side more, your words slightly slurred. The flicker of the TV light against his pale marble neck draws you in even closer.
"W-wow, I've never done that before." He shyly scratches his head, skin growing hot.
"Well, come here, and we can do it again." He brings the joint to his lips again, hair in his face, and pulls the smoke into his mouth. Pulling him close, you take the smoke in from his mouth again. This time, as you begin to pull away, Choso's hand goes to cup your cheek, not wanting you to create more distance. He pulls you into him and kisses you softly, whimpering into your mouth desperately. You kiss him back savoring the feeling of his soft lips, smoke billowing around you as it blows from your nose.
In one movement, you straddle him under the blanket, breaking the kiss, your hips fitting snug over his. Choso places the joint in his lips as you take his hands and rest them on your hips, your eyes watching him as he blows smoke from his nostrils. Reaching for the joint in his lips, you take it and hit it, looking down at the hazy choso under you, feeling his big hands squeezing and massaging your thighs. He really likes you and has always desired an intimate relationship with someone, but has never had the chance to invest in something like that until now. The idea was swimming around in his mind, all night truthfully, the image of you as his partner. Waking up next to you, your smell, that beautiful smile that gives him such a jolt of energy when he sees you in class, he can't help but smile himself. He wants you, so much more than he thought.
Placing the joint carefully back in his lips, you lay against his chest, your breath tickling his neck. The feeling of your chest against his makes his heart pound as blood rushes throughout his body.
"Ooh, someone's excited." You whisper into his neck, your lips brushing his skin, sending shivers down his spine. A giggle escapes your lips, and he smiles nervously in response.
"I-I'm sorry, I can't help it." One of his hands wraps around your waist, the other hastily puts out the joint on the couch. He holds you flush against his lap, with both arms, and you feel his hard dick, "You're the first girl I've ever done something like this with." He spoke nervously, informing you of his inexperience.
"Don't worry," you kiss his neck softly, "We can take it slow. Especially since we've been drinking tonight." You continue to pepper kisses along his neck, sucking softly on the pale tender skin, drawing groans from Choso as he writhes beneath you. His hard dick pushes up against you as you grind against him, "Shh shh," you hush him, feeling him squirm beneath your strong thighs. You guide his hands up your stomach to your torso. Choso's hooded eyes ooze desire, amplified by the high, as he follows your lead. He never knew skin could be so soft, his face now bright red as his fingers massage your tender breasts. His teeth dig into his bottom lip as he groans low in his throat at the feeling of your lips on his neck. To keep yourself from getting carried away, you stop, and guide his hands back down to your hips, resting your head against his chest. He exhales hard, hand going to stroke your hair as you lay against him.
"I want you so bad." Choso spills his guts in your ear, gasping, his arms squeezing you and he can't help but feel like he wants you so much closer now. You hush him again and dismount from him, a slight frown forming on his face mingled with confusion. His eyes, vulnerable as they focus on only you.
Did I do something wrong?
"I want you badly too Choso, but not like this, not when we're both crossfaded as fuck, you know?" You take his hand in yours reassuringly, and kiss his red knuckles which are surprisingly more rough than they appear.
“Did I do something..?” he trails off, his voice a whisper, his eyes frowning, and hazy.
“No Choso,” you kiss his knuckles again, pausing before you speak, “I like you a lot, Choso,” his eyes lock onto yours, “And, I want our.. intimate moments together to be special, intentional, and something I know I can remember doing.” a smile returns to his lips and he squeezes your hand. Honestly, you surprised yourself and him with your articulation in that moment, but maybe it's the alcohol?
“I like you too,” a smile forms on his lips and you cuddle into his side like before, letting out a satisfied yawn. The two of you cuddle on the couch as the TV fills the silence.
Choso lets out an exaggerated yawn, “Cmon it's late.” He stands up and holds out a hand for you. When you reach out, he sloppily scoops you into his arms bridal style, earning a surprised yelp from you.
“Choso,” you wrap your arms around his neck and he smiles, leaning in to kiss your red cheek. He yawns and sways as he carries you inside, bringing you to his room not far from the garage. You can't help but close your eyes as he carries you, feeling your head spin as his strong arms support you all too well. Before you know it, he sets you down in his bed in the dark while he stands beside you, not bothering to turn on the lights. He tucks you in nicely and kisses your forehead in a goofy kind of way, his older brother tendencies showing.
“You can have my bed tonight. I don't want to make you uncomfortable, especially since we're drun-” before he can finish his sentence, you're pulling him halfway into his own bed.
“Hold me while we fall asleep together, please Choso, we don't have to do anything crazy, ” your drunken request makes his cheeks burn, the alcohol and weed almost convincing him he's in dreamland. Sleepy red eyes drooping, scanning your face before he answers.
He gulps down the frog in his throat as he carefully climbs into his bed with you, pulling back layers of blankets. You feel him settling behind you, arms carefully hugging your body, his large frame acclimating to your shape tenderly. Choso scoots in closer, his breath tickling your ear softly as he whispers, “Is this okay?” His voice is shy, almost like he's trying to not disturb you.
You let out a tired mhm, and he smiles, feeling you scoot into him more. The warmth grows between you two in Choso's nest of blankets and pillows as a gentle, innocent calmness fills the room. Choso's breathing becomes slow and steady as he begins to drift off to sleep. You can feel his heart beating softly against your back, and it calms you even more, allowing you to fall asleep peacefully in his arms.

MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
If anyone asked what you did, it would feel like you were just a minor part of the crew, presumptuous, even, but things were different when they saw you actually get in action. In the first place, you wrote. You were a writer, author of some great novels that spreaded across the Grand Line, and secondly, you now were a Strawhat who kept a log of the crew’s adventures and fought when needed. The day Luffy recruited you was still fresh in your mind.
"So you’re a writer? You wrote all of this?" Luffy had asked thoughtfully with a hand on his chin as he eyed the piles of books. "Riiight... I need someone to write it down when I become the King of the Pirates! The news’ people always tell things wrong! Come with us!"
A smile traced your lips as you shook your head, now working on the illustration of the last island you'd been to, adding details and a little color. Sure wasn't the best drawing, but you still wanted to keep some sort of reminder from the lovely place.
The soft knock on the door came as it usually did, religiously, and there wasn't even the need for an answer before the door swung open. The click of shoes against the ground resonated through the small office-bedroom as he approached you and finally set the tray on the free space of the desk. Your and his cups were filled with hot tea as they were every night, the flavor declared by the strong smell that came along with the steam escaping from the drink.
"A lot of work today?" Sanji asked you as he took a seat on the armchair, crossing his legs.
"Not really." You shook your head. "We've been in the open sea for a couple of days already, so I'm just updating some old stuff." The drawing you showed him had been finished earlier, already properly inked and depicting part of the crew interacting at the island.
Sanji raised his eyebrows and slowly nodded, a smile decorating his face. "Does it still give you time to work on your personal stuff, though?" He took the unlit cigarette off between his lips and slipped it back into its case that belonged to the pocket on the inside of his blazer, which he ended up taking off and folding to leave it across the armchair’s arm.
“Sort of.” You shrugged a little. “I use a lot of my free time to work on it. It only gets difficult to manage when we’re down to things like when in Spypiea, Sabaody or Marineford. Even afterwards, I still need a couple of weeks to organize everything, interview you guys and stuff. We genuinely go through a lot of stuff, and you only realize it’s that much when you need to register it all down!” You chuckled a little, throwing your arms above yourself to stretch with a soft sigh. “My priority is to keep the crew’s log, though!”
“Oh? Not your career?”
“Of course not!” You shook your head. “You guys are wonderful people who once saved me and now we take care of each other. I can’t let you die—all of this die—without the story being properly told. It’s a great responsibility to keep a record of the adventures...” The words trailed off until you were lost in your thoughts instead, but you just shook your head and closed the few books you had opened after you marked all the pages, leaving untouched only the one that had the drying watercolor. Carefully, you took the still warm cup in hand, inhaling the sweet and rich smell of the tea. “Fruit?”
“Something from that island, but a fruit, indeed,” he justified, momentarily standing up so he could also get his tea. “I haven’t tried it yet, thought it would be best for the both of us to have it together. It’s important to me.”
“What if it’s bad?” You joked,  turning your chair so you could face him.
“Then we throw it out the window and you write down how terrible it was so we never try it again!” He clicks his tongue in a feigned annoyance that has both of you laughing until forced to fall quiet to finally try the drink. “Well, I actually like it! You?”
You took a sip of the tea, giving yourself a moment to analyze the taste. “Good! Still not better than my favorite, but it’s still something!” The comment brought a grin to Sanji’s face as both of you shared a look.
Silence filled the room again quite comfortably, allowing you to hear the waves crashing outside. You took a look out the window and then at the clock on the table. “Who’s on the night watch today?” It’d been a while since you last left your room, probably only having done so for dinner during the last hours because Sanji wouldn’t leave you alone otherwise.
“That’s me!” His voice didn’t carry the same excitement as his face did as he looked into the cup.
“Want some company?” You offered. “I’m always up until late messing with my things, either—”
“Don’t think about it!” Sanji shook his free hand as he took a sip of the tea. “You had to wake up early today and take care of your writing this whole time, so you better have a good night of sleep! I know how those can be tiring! Mentally tiring!”
“Sanji!” You furrowed your eyebrows with a pout, but ended up just rolling your eyes once he shot you a glare, compelling him to snicker. A sigh escaped your lips as you leaned back on the chair. “I just wanted to keep you company. I want to show you some story ideas along with some drawings! Your night watch wouldn’t be so boring.”
“As much as I like your company, your rest comes first. I promise I’ll come check out all of that stuff tomorrow, okay? Besides, keep that night energy for when it’s your turn for the night watch!” Sanji lectured you despite the unfazed look you shot him before rolling your eyes—it was almost as if you weren’t the one who would take care of him during the night, either telling him to go to bed already when he cooked until too late or throwing a blanket over his shoulders because he fell asleep in the galley.
You were the first one to finish the drink, putting your empty cup away and wetting the watercolor again until Sanji stood up and placed his cup back on the tray as well.
“Don’t forget to go to sleep,” Sanji said, his face a few inches away from yours as he bent down with a hand on the back of the chair. “I’ll come here and put you to sleep if I notice you’re awake!”
“It’s not happening,” you promised him with a smile.
“Great!” Sanji wrapped an arm around your shoulders in a hug you awkwardly returned as you could, with a hand on his shoulder whilst leaning into his touch. He took the tray in hand so he could leave, wishing you a good night. His blazer was still on the armchair; you shook your head with a chuckle.
The next day, Sanji was still awake when you had breakfast. You quietly observed him swooning over Robin and Nami despite how tired he was, but your attention was on catching up with Luffy, Chopper, Franky, Brook and Usopp. Most of the day, you were locked in your office, reading in the library or drawing one of the tables on the desk, so they wouldn’t lose the opportunity of talking with you during the meals to know what you’d done so far. They loved to see the drawings of themselves, no matter how they were, always bugging you to take a look at something even on days you took off to yourself, so it was easy to spent the morning with them and later talk with Robin and Nami as well, not forgetting to go up to the Crow’s Nest for at least a few minutes to spot Zoro on a rep or two while chatting.
A little after lunch, Sanji knocked on your room’s door. “Hell, I’m really tired!”
You glanced away from your papers to see him kick off his shoes before collapsing on your bed face-first, grabbing one of the pillows to rest his head on, sort of hugging it. “Did you take a nap? You left your blazer here last night, by the way!”
“Oh, so that’s where it was this whole time, thank you! And no! I ended up preparing breakfast during the night then prepared lunch after breakfast was served,” he explained, muffled by the pillow until he turned his head to face you.
“Should’ve tried to get some sleep.” You sighed, dipping your pen in ink again.
“It’s not like that,” he groaned. “I left some food ready just in case, though, just so I can rest now. I thought I’d come talk to you first since I promised.”
You furrowed your eyebrows as you looked at the cook, pausing so you could ruffle his hair, which made him close his eyes for a moment. “Nonsense. You could’ve just gone to sleep, I’d understand it! You don’t need to sacrifice yourself.”
“Shhh, I promised.” Sanji narrowed his eyes a little. “Tell me, what did you want to show me?”
“Right... First of all, I had some retouches on the drawings I’d made for Sabaody, so I wanted you to take a look at them to make sure I’m not forgetting anything,” you mumbled while you flipped to the pages where the drawings were and handed the book to him. Through time, your chat grew slower, with sporadic and distant answers coming from Sanji until you looked at him and noticed he was actually asleep. The sight made a small smile stretch your lips before you went back to working quietly as always.
A knock on the door pulled you away from your thoughts and you looked back to see Nami’s head peeking him from the slightly-open door. “Hey, (y/n), have you seen—” She looked around for a little and fell silent.
“Seen what?”
“Actually, nevermind!” She shot you a smile. “Sorry for interrupting!”
“No worries!” You smiled, waving as she quietly closed the door once again.
The new island was filled with casinos, clubs, markets and stores with the most peculiar things that had a great part of the crew voting to stay for longer than a day since there weren’t any worries that tied you down to dates or time. Usopp, Sanji, Nami and Robin seemed excited about a particular club after you took a look at it while getting to know the city, so they invited you and Brook and it was almost impossible to refuse; you easily found yourself getting ready in front of the mirror before you left to go wait for the others with Nami and Usopp. Sanji was the last to show up, covering Nami and Robin with compliments that they already learned not to give much attention to, instead already moving to leave the ship.
“You’re looking extra good today, (y/n)!” Nami smiled, hooking her arm with yours and discreetly distancing from the rest of the group with you. “Trying to catch someone’s attention?”
“Maybe?” You chuckled. “It’s been a while since we last stopped at such a nice island, so I thought a one-night thing isn’t gonna hurt!”
Nami blinked a couple of times. “One-night thing?”
“No new crewmates!” You shook your head, contributing more to Nami’s confused look, which you also didn’t quite understand.
She hummed, looking away for a long moment. “Um, and Sanji?”
“What do you mean?”
“Well...” She breathed and shrugged a little, about to say something when she was hit on the back of the head by something and it was enough for her mood to change completely. Her teeth were gritted and eyes practically white while a vein popped on her temple as she slowly looked back to see the three men stand there quietly, pale, ready for the shouting that promptly came from her along with hits. Robin brought a hand to her mouth as she chuckled, and you sweatdropped, continuing to walk.
The night was long. You’d drunk, not a lot to do things you regretted, but enough to rather easily accept hanging out with people you’d just met, exploring the city and talking bullshit.
“Just a little longer,” the girl said as she waved at you and the two other people that trailed behind, carefully walking through the woods until you made it to a rock on top of a mountain. “It’s gonna be there.” She pointed to a spot behind the mountains of another island in the distance, where it was already lighter and it did seem like the sun would start rising in a few minutes, just as she had promised.
Even with little to help, the four of you made yourselves comfortable on the cold rock; you used one of the guys’ sweatshirt as a makeshift pillow, observing the sky quietly while they talked with each other. Despite the alcohol still in your system, what made you groggy was mostly the lack of sleep.
“Hey,” the girl said as she lay down next to you, on her side, holding herself up with an elbow. “Do you... Okay, I won’t waste time. Can I kiss you?”
You almost choked on your spit, your cheeks immediately growing warm at the question that sent your thoughts racing. At first, all you could do was sputter half words, unable to connect thoughts, until she chuckled and you decided to take a deep breath. “Okay, so, um... I’m... Well, not right now. Actually, I like someone else, a lot. I can’t picture myself kissing another person.”
“Oh. That sucks,” she sighed. “You look really nice, but I don’t think you’re staying around for long, anyways. Say more, though. Tell me about who you like.”
The time your cheeks heated up again was for another reason, with a softer feeling stirring in your chest. “He’s... I think he doesn’t like me, y’know? He’s a real flirt, but not with me. I feel like we are just great friends and it ends there. We are really close, but not the sort of close I wish it were.”
“Did you even tell him you like him?” She raised an eyebrow and you shook your head. “You should!”
“I don’t want it to hurt.” You smiled a little, but without humor.
She furrowed her eyebrows a little as if she understood your situation. “Well, maybe hurting is not a bad thing. It makes you stronger, and it would make you free to kiss other people!” She started to chuckle at the same time you did so, shaking your head a little.
You had a hand over your brow line to keep a shadow over your eyes while your shoes hung from your other hand when you returned to the ship later that same day, already tired and feeling like you’d never get back to Sunny, feeling as if you’d been run over a thousand times. All you could do once you arrived back to the ship was to sleep, only waking up again when it was already late in the afternoon, mumbling something about something being different in your bedroom before you could go for a shower.
“Whoa, look at who’s alive!” Usopp announced once you walked out to the deck, attracting a lot of pairs of eyes to you.
“Good night?” Zoro teased with a chuckle. “Even forgot you had a home!”
You rolled your eyes, shaking your head as you took a seat at a table with Robin. “Shut up, Zoro, you don’t even know how to get home by yourself!”
Given how you’d practically slept all day long, you decided to change turns with Robin and take the night watch for the day. It was a nice, warm night, so you didn’t bother staying outside with your books, illustrating the island during the night. It felt like something was missing, still. You furrowed your eyebrows and looked at the galley’s direction. There was no tea that night.
Brook took over the nightwatch halfway through the night, allowing you to sleep and wake up at a reasonable hour in the morning. Nami was the first person you ran into once you left your room, happy for finally feeling well after partying all night a day before. “Nami!”
“Oi, (y/n)!” She smiled as she approached you. “Good morning!”
“Morning!” You smiled in return. “Have you seen Sanji? He didn’t bring me tea yesterday. Actually, I didn’t see him at all, now that I think about it.”
Nami’s face fell in a way you didn’t really like, almost taking a step back as you watched her. “Hm, you see...” She sighed, with a hand on her hip. “You didn’t come back to the ship that night, so he was worried. He even tidied up your room so you didn’t need to do anything when you arrived.”
“Right...? Explains a lot.”
“And he thought you were with someone else. Like, hooking up.”
“I wasn’t but...” You shrugged. “What’s up with that?”
The expression across Nami’s face was the same as when she had seen Luffy let himself fall for Usopp’s lies for the first time. “That made him feel bad.”
“Sanji and I aren’t something, Nami.” You furrowed your eyebrows, reminded of the talk you had with the island’s residents that night.
Nami seemed as if she would explode. “Well, maybe he wishes there were?”
“I—”
“(Y/n), Sanji likes you!” She just gave up with a sigh, taking a quick look around before she continued. “He adores you! He doesn’t flirt with people anymore, he just compliments and does things for them because he’s always believed he needed to, mainly to women! Still, he doesn’t make tea for everyone, every night! He doesn’t stay up until late for anyone or makes them company during the night! I’ve never seen Sanji leave his clothes anywhere else rather than in the male quarters! Besides, he keeps one of your novels and a picture with you under his pillow! I saw it!”
That was a lot to take in. You didn’t know Sanji treated you differently in that sense, in the first place, let alone know that he liked you. It made sense now that you thought about it, of course, because he wouldn’t be spending the same amount of time with the others as well if he was there making you company for most of the day. Some nights, he would be there asleep on your bed while you worked on your books.
“Sorry,” Nami exhaled. “I really didn’t want it all to fall upon you suddenly like this, but you needed to know it already! Sanji doesn’t deserve this! Either reject him already or take care of him. He deserves someone to love him.”
You quickly nodded. “I know.”
Not a lot needed to be said. There wasn’t a lot to be said. You looked at Nami a last time before you walked right back into your room, taking a deep sigh as her words still echoed through your mind, each of them connected to a memory you held and you couldn’t help but to feel a weight in your chest—Sanji must’ve felt terrible when he noticed you disappeared at the club after you refused to dance with him so you could leave with your new friends. It would be easy to fix, at least theoretically, because your stomach churned at the thought of facing Sanji right now.
Your morning wasn’t a lot different from the others, locked in your room and staring at a white page, but the purpose of your writing was different this time. Your feelings were going to be spilled, bleeded all over a page without any filter or restriction because they needed to be understood so no one would be hurt anymore. In the end, it was beautifully folded and with Sanji written in your gold ink while sealed with wax.
Sanji was serving breakfast and chatting around, out on the deck—you double checked—when you sneaked into the galley and left the paper in a safe place, where you knew he’d find it. Hell, it was pathetic. You needed to declare your feelings through a little letter because you didn’t have the guts to face the guy yourself after unintentionally hurting his feelings. In your defense, writing was the best thing you could do.
At the same time it was relieving, you could feel anxiety bubbling under your skin. The situation would slip away from your mind at times, but at others, you felt like Sanji would show up out of sudden saying that you were going crazy. Hopefully not.
When it was night, however, the knock finally came, as it always had done before, without missing a single day, for months straight. You tensed up this time, letting him walk in and watching the tray be placed on the free space of your desk—you didn’t even know when it became instinctive to leave that side clear for the tray. Aside from the mugs, this time, there was a bite-sized sweet as well, your favorite.
“I read it.” Sanji’s voice was small, practically vulnerable. His hand was shaking when it retreated from the tray.
“Sanji—”
“I’m sorry I just concluded things!” He cut in quickly.
You furrowed your eyebrows, turning on your chair, but he didn’t meet your eyes, instead looking at the ground. “No, you did nothing wrong! I should’ve paid more attention, I just... I wasn’t communicative enough as well...” You couldn’t find the right words, express the right things, so you took a pause, standing up. He didn’t take a step back when you approached. “I’m sorry, Sanji. Don’t leave me, please. Nami helped me realize things. Sorry for the time we lost.”
Sanji was almost in the same state, with thoughts roaming around his mind without order, but lacking the courage to be voiced, though he knew he couldn’t lose the opportunity—he couldn’t lose you. “(Y/n).”
“I love you, Sanji. I know I’ve told you this before, but now I mean it in another way.”
Sanji’s face was impossibly red. His hand twitched as he reached out to you; it was as if you two were sparkles searching for each other, looking for the right time to go off, which happened exactly when you took his hand in his and let him pull you closer in a tight hug.
“I love you,” he mumbled in response, and it almost felt as if you’d explode, with your heart skipping beats and fluttering in your chest, not even knowing what it does.
It was a relief, really. A relief and a sea of happiness simultaneously because your doubts and anguishes were extinguished at the same time you were finally able to do what you’ve longed for for so long. You let your nose brush against his before your lips met. The taste and smell of tobacco was undeniable, but it still didn’t erase the fact his lips were soft, returning the care and want that you felt for him.
Sanji seemed giddy, blushing and flustered, but also excited to the point he almost didn’t know what to do with himself. He pulled you with him to sit down on the bed and took a look at you, grinning wide before taking your hands in his; he left kisses all over your knuckles then did the same over your face, needing to pause to smile because of how you giggled, and your lips were pressed together again.
You had to place a hand on his chest so you were able to pull away, climbing on the bed properly to push him down and straddle his hips, taking a moment to observe him look at you with wide eyes. “You’re beautiful,” you whispered, still feeling your heart beat strongly in your chest. Sanji’s cheeks felt warm against your palms when you cupped his face, caressing his cheeks and carefully brushing his bangs away from his face; he swallowed dryly, but never stopped you, hands placed over yours softly. “I love you, Sanji!”
Sanji’s mouth opened and closed a couple of times without saying anything until he finally said it once again. “I love you.” There wasn’t a ‘too’ because his love was independent of yours, he loved you and would do it even if you didn’t love him back. He grinned as the excitement bubbled up in his chest, making him feel all giddy again, in a way it was even hard to contain himself when you leaned in for a kiss once more.

Today had been absolutely treacherous.
First you hadn't been able to find your transfiguration homework resulting in professor mcgonagall giving you a detention at the end of the day. You loved professor mcgonagall you always got on well but you understood that she couldn't give special treatment, even to her favourite students.
Then you spilt ink over your potions assignment and to top it all off your uniform had been suffocating you all day.
It was days like this that you were thankful at least one of your partners were with you in each class.
However each of them had been increasingly distracted today.
James had been thinking about quidditch a lot lately since there was a match on Sunday against slytherin, everybody wanted to win but James always took it to a new level.
Remus's head had been trapped in his book practically all week, there was an assignment due for history of magic and to everyone's surprise remus was struggling slightly to make sense of the text as it contradicted itself many times. Personally you didn't really care about your results in history of magic you just saw it as a filler class occasionally copying down notes but mostly constructing origami birds.
Sirius had been the most present one today however he had spent his lessons thinking over new ways to taunt his brother and Snape not listening to you when you discouraged it.
You had hoped to spend a good amount of time with them after your classes but then you realised.
James had quidditch practice, sirius was going along to watch him and remus had a meeting with professor dumbledoor.
Brilliant.

Stepping through the entryway for the gryffindor common room you saw lily and marlene sitting on the crushed velvet sofa. As soon as you made your way over to them you dropped your bag onto the floor beside you and flopped down onto the cushions Making lily chuckle.
"Hard day huh?" She said with a knowing smile "torture" you agreed resting your head on her shoulder feeling her hand gently stroke your hair. "Aww hon, well it's over now until next week" "how was detention?" Marlene smirked eyeing you cheekily "I don't understand the point of it, all I did was sit there drawing" you chuckled kicking your feet up.
A good half an hour passed on the sofa with your best friends before you made your way up to the boys dorm room, you barley ever slept in your own dorm anymore. As soon as you reached the 6th step you felt a hazy feeling come over your mind.
Why did it always come at the worst times?
Holding onto the hand rail you made quick work of your journey. When you reached the large oak door you swung it open and locked it with a simple spell, the boys would know that it was only you.
Once you reached remus's bed you felt all attempts at staying in your big headspace leave you, the only thing was you felt young.
Really young.
Considering that you hadn't been able to regress in such a long time it wasn't really surprising however it felt scary, you never regressed this young on your own and you didn't know what to do.
Suddenly being made aware of your itchy uniform you tried desperately to remove it but there were too many zips and the buttons were to small so it was no use.
Realising that you couldn't do anything for yourself you excepted your fate and layed yourself down on the mattress hugging the pillow close to you wetting it with your tears.
"They'll be back soon" you thought to yourself.
───── ⋆⋅◇⋅⋆ ─────
"Your such a tosser" james expressed to sirius as they reached their dorm room. Trying the doorknob they realised that it was locked causing them to frown "alohomora" remus said hearing a click.
Walking through the doorway they saw you curled up on remus’s bed sobbing into his pillow, immediately they rushed over to you with sirius gently removing the pillow and laying down beside you "what's wrong sweetheart?" James asked sitting on your other side.
Trying to find the words you spoke softly "small" you whimpered cuddling into Sirius's arm feeling his hand gently stroke your hair. "Oh angel" you heard remus sigh guilt lacing his tone almost instantly you heard the two of them walk around the room.
After collecting some clothes for you remus walked over towards the bed gently turning you into your back causing you to protest "I know baby I know it's okay" he said unbuttoning your shirt, zipping down your skirt and bringing down your stockings. Feeling a soft jumper being pulled over your head you manoeuvred your way through it "there she is" sirius gasped when your head popped through the hole making you giggle.
Watching James from across the room you saw him pull down a lime green box and walk it over towards you. Pulling the lid off he took out a soft grey dummy and a soft lion toy, you had never seen these ones before.
Passing the dummy to sirius you felt him gently ease it into your mouth feeling remus squish in beside you and sirius he made his way towards his bed.
Hearing a loud noise you panicked slightly and shot up in the bed "Hey, hey sweetheart it's okay it's just daddy being an twat" "oi I'm just moving the bed so we can all fit, your welcome" james said sarcastically "Daddy's not a twat" you mumbled sleepily from behind your dummy "thank you baby" "you could have used your wand" remus stated a moment of silence following "shut up."
Feeling the boys spread out on the joined mattresses you rolled yourself over giggling slightly "aww our giggly little girl" sirius smiled placing a kiss to the back of your head. "Pass her over here" james said piping up from beside remus "come here honey" the lycanthrophe beside you mumbled rolling you over his stomach and into james arms "there she is" he sighed kissing your head gently.
Looking at you each of them realised that you were about to fall into dreamland, with james stroking your hair and remus patting your lower back soothingly you allowed yourself to sleep with Sirius's comforting words.
"Your okay now little one, we're here and we'll be here when you wake up."

Date
Synopsis: Your girlfriend takes you out on a date for your 4 months anniversary.
Warnings: None, I think
Words: 1.2k ~
Tumblr media
I've been dating Emma for 4 months now. Today, she decided to take me in a date to celebrate our 4 months which I think is super cute but I'm kinda stressed because she didn't tell me where we were going I just know it's gonna be somewhere calm with no people, that's the only thing she told me.
Right now, I'm adding some details to the drawing I've made of Em for her. She once told me she loves my drawings and that she loves even more watching me draw, and since I can't stop drawing for her, her reactions are so adorable every time I give those drawings to her.
Em <3
Emma: Hey baby, look at your widow <3 - 10:23 a.m
I immediately smiled when I saw her notification, and my smile widened when I read the text. I jump off my chair and look through my widow and see my amazing girlfriend looking ever so beautiful. She's wearing a long dark orange dress with a little handbag on one hand and flowers with her phone on the other.
We smiled and waved at each other like idiots she pulled out her phone and took a pic of me.
Em <3
Emma: *photo*
Emma: You look breathtaking, darling - 10:25 a.m
I giggled and blushed before taking a pic of her, too
You: *photo*
You: You look like a dream, Em - 10:25 a.m
I looked up, seeing her rolling her eyes and smiling at my text, I laughed at her reaction.
Em <3
Emma: Are you coming down or what ? - 10:26 a.m
It was my turn to roll my eyes at her text. I took my bag with all my stuff in it, not forgetting the draw I made for her, I ran downstairs, taking my keys.
I open the front door, and Emma and I immediately start running toward each other's arms. She holds me by my waist slightly picking me up, my arms are hooked around her neck, and her face is buried in my neck.
"Happy 4 months, baby." She muffled, not moving her face from my neck. I giggle at her silliness. "Happy 4 months, Em." I said, pulling away to see her face. She looked at me, her eyes lighting up, and so did mine as we looked at each other's eyes before she leaned in kissing me passionately. A slow, loving kiss.
I pulled away apparently too quickly for her because she immediately chased my lips again. "Wait." I said, smiking. "What ? What's wrong ?" She asked, kinda worried, "Nothing's wrong. I just wanted to give you this." I handed her the drawing, her eyes widen, her smile was so big I felt so content. "Oh my God ! Thank you so much, baby !" She said, bringing me to her embrace again. "You're welcome, sweetheart." I laughed, feeling her head dinging more in the crock of my neck. She pulled away and said "Well now my flower looks lame next to your art." Her lips forming a pout. "No, don't say that I love it." I tried to reassure her and pecked her pout away she smiled right after I did that.
"Shall we go, my love ?" I softly nodded, smiling at her as she took my hand and gave me the flower she brought me in the other hand. "Alright, let's go !" She opened the car door for me, I whispered a small 'thank you' she kissed my hand that she was still holding like I was a princess - her princess.
We've been driving for 30 minutes with calm music playing through the car's speakers. "We're almost there, but we're gonna have to walk a little." Emma said while stroking my thigh to get my attention. She quickly looked at me before putting her eyes back on the road. "Oh, alright. I can't wait to see where we're going to have our date !" I was genuinely excited and curious to see where she decided to take me. She gently took my hand and kissed it before saying, "You're gonna love it."
After parking the car, Emma told me we're gonna walk a little bit before arriving. Something like 10 minutes later, we finally arrived at the spot Emma chose for our date.
It was amazingly beautiful. I was looking around, not saying a word too speechless to speak from how amazed I am of the beauty of the place. "Soooo ? What do you think ?" Emma pulled me out of my thoughts, I looked at her as I was processing what she just asked me. I love how she didn't look stressed she was totally confident. She knew I would've love the place, and she's damn right. "I adore it, baby ! It's amazing. Thank you so much for bringing me here ! I want it to become our spot." I said, jumping in her arms, we were both smiling like crazy. "I'm glad so you like it y/n, and yes, it's going to become our spot." She said before kissing ne deeply but softly with her hands on my waist, holding me close to her. My arms were wrapped around her neck. "Ok, ok, let's set everything down because I'm getting hungry. Plus, I wanna see what you made for us." I said, pulling away from the kiss.
Emma's POV:
Y/n pulled away from the kiss a way too quickly for my liking, but the little giggling that came out of her mouth was worth breaking the kiss. Since I'm a good girlfriend, I did as I'm told and set everything down. I'm was getting stressed because what if she doesn't like what I made ? But I quickly brushed the thought away and focused on my girl, who was asking for my help.
- Time skip -
"I haven't eaten something this good in a whileeeee." Y/n laughed, which made me smile and chuckle at her comment. "I put everything I had for this to be good enough for you." I kissed her hand, which made her blush violently. "It's more than enough. Thank you so much, Em."
"You're very welcome, sweetheart. Do you wanna do something orrrr ?" I asked her, balancing our hands together. "Let's go to your place." She winked at me, and now I was the one blushing violently.
We arrived home around 1.20pm because someone apparently needed a new pair of headphones, and also because this someone wouldn't let me pay her the headphones. We "fought" about it for 20 mins. She eventually gave up and let me pay for it, but now she won't let it go.
"Baby, it's alright. I wanted to buy you these." I pitifully tried to make her pet go if the subject. "Yeah, I know, but you didn't have to, and I should be the one buying something anyway." She argued back, but I didn't understand what she meant. "Why shoul you be the one buying something ?" "Because you took me one a date, so I should buy something as a thank you, like it's unfair you take me one a date AND you buy me new headphones and I gave you nothing." She pouted at me. She actually looked upset. I cupped her face with both my hands and kissed her pout away, "Hey, it's alright. I wanted to do this for you, I don't want you to give me anything, and you already gave me something." She forwns her eyebrows, clearly asking me to continue.
"You gave me your time, and your love." She smiled and put her hands on mine. We both leaned to kiss each other.
That was the best day ever.

1. naïve melody by TheOnceandFutureQueenofTarts
G | 2.9k Words
Summary: “You invited me to go to a fair with you,” Voldemort says levelly. “Because we’re going to battle to the death soon.”
Well, when he puts it like that.
Fluff beloved. They understand each other the way only enemies can. Voldemort as the Drama Expert™ also accidental date 👀
Voldemort returns, looking punchably smug and carrying the largest stuffed lion Harry has ever seen. Competitive git. Harry holds his stuffed snake a little tighter and ignores the feeling of rejection. He’d meant it as a joke, anyway; there’s nothing to be disappointed about. Voldemort clears his throat. “I propose a trade.” And he holds out the stuffed lion to Harry, his other hand gesturing for the snake. Oh. Harry hands over the snake hesitantly and accepts the lion in turn. Did we just win each other stuffed animals? he thinks.
2. Breaking More Taboos by Destiny_Of_A_Dragon
M | 3.3k Words
Summary: The first time Harry broke the taboo, he’d been beyond starving, with little to no choice. The second and third times were much the same.
But the fourth?
That’s when everything changed.
I KNOW I RAVED ABOUT IT ALREADY BUT. IT DESERVES REPEATING. LIKE PLS. THIS FIC HAD ME IN A CHOKEHOLD AJSVSHSBSHSH. Also, Deliciously Dark Harry. Voldemort saw that darkness, and moved. When I crave dark Harry who's oblivious he's dark- I read this. Sadly no favorite quote since spoilers 😔
3. Roads Untaken by wynnebat (@wynnefic)
T | 3k Words
Summary: Harry wanted to be outraged on behalf of the castle that he still considered to be his home. Hogwarts didn't deserve to have a piece of Tom Riddle lodged inside it like a particularly vicious splinter.
But there was something he was annoyed about even more than the fact that he was once again alive at the same time as a once and future dark lord. For the first time in his life, he sympathized with Voldemort, and knew that in this one instance, Voldemort might sympathize with him.
Harry looked at Tom head-on, and said, "Albus Dumbledore is a bastard."
*
Both turned down for the position of Hogwarts DADA professor, Tom and Harry have a few things to say to each other.
Ahvshsvs laughing at Dumbledore in this fic. "I am happy to have done right by you.", He says, while making another mistake. Aberforth, Tom & Harry bonding over insulting Albus. They got drunk and planned to build a new school- it was hilarious.
"Do you want to grab a drink at the Hog's Head? Dumbledore's brother works there. He can join us in insulting Dumbledore."
4. V Is For Vampire by duplicity (@duplicitywrites )
T | 13k Words
Summary: One cursed night over seventy years ago, Harry agreed to bite Tom and turn him into a vampire. Flash forward to today, when Tom hires a rag-tag group of starving film students to film a documentary about their lives as two totally platonic vampire pals.
Because Tom thinks their life as vampires is interesting enough for mainstream media.
Because he’s crazy.
Harry should have just let Tom die of old age like any other sane person would have done.
What really endeared me to the Vampire Harry and/or Vampire Tom troupe. COFFIN SHOPPING!!! (≧▽≦) They're idiots who love each other very much. You know that love strengthened, and deepened with time? Yeah, like that. They're everything for each other. I love the whole crew ( ꈍᴗꈍ). Harry's endearing habit of knitting clothes for Tom. Artist Harry who draws (or redraws, as Tom makes a...sketch first) Tom's coffin designs ಥ‿ಥ. Vampire Ollivander [insert shaky eyes]. Ginny is our lord and savior for putting up with these idiots. Ron Weasley is also our savior- because of him there are no....casualties. Jealous Tom [insert shaky red eyes]. Fluff- seriously, I read this when I need a pick me up ( ˘ ³˘)♥. Also Honorary mention to Tom Riddle's Hair Curl™
Harry laid a hand on Tom’s chest and said, “Okay.” Tom’s anger floundered, replaced with confusion. The harsh, inhuman lines of his face smoothed out as he tilted back, withdrawing from Harry’s touch like it had burned him. “I said okay,” Harry told him. “I do have you, don’t I? You’re right. I choose to be here, with you, and I’ve done that for about seventy years now.”
5. Sola Fide by crowthing (@crowcrowcrowthing )
M | 7.9k Words
Summary: Surely what he was dealing with was some level of deity, because quite suddenly the man was standing in front of him. No trace of apparition, no burst of speed. The man had parted through space and now towered over him, translucent and human-like.
Harry offered up his bleeding hand.
Hermit Harry- still magical, though. His lifestyle is so calming, no kidding ( ╹▽╹ ). I love the world building (?) In it where it shows his simple life. Love the cute niffler and the gnome family ( ꈍᴗꈍ). Harry taking care of his magical garden and Voldemort supplying the rare seeds ಥ‿ಥ. *Screams* BWVSSGSVSGSGGS VEE AND HARRY'S RELATIONSHIP IS JUST 👌. Mutual Devotion [insert vibing emoji].
Blood glared against pale skin, ruby-bright, gathering in bunches and trickling down a bare chest. The man was so much taller than Harry, so much more, even while still so insubstantial. He eclipsed the world, staring down with those red, unblinking eyes and such pale, scaled skin.
He leaned in to rasp into Harry’s ear, “Worship me.”

3. Paper Rings
Jax stood with his arms crossed, and a frown printed on his face. Caine had called everyone for the last adventure of the day and Jax already wanted to be finished with it. Ever since his revelation earlier about how he felt about Pomni, his mind had turned into a storming whirlpool. He tried to think of anything else, pranks, centipedes, the existential dread that he was stuck here forever – it might be morbid but it was something at least -, kicking leftover gloinks, breaking Gangle’s comedy mask, Pomni-Pomni-Pomni-Pomni-Pomni…
“Thank you all for coming!” Caine’s abnormally loud voice from him from his daze, thankfully. “I understand that you’ve all been working hard all day with the adventures I’ve given you, but fear not, I have one more and you can all retire for the night!”
“Do we really have to?” Zooble muttered, “Can’t this wait till tomorrow? I’ve got better things to do.”
“I agree,” Gangle whispered, “I wanted to try and fix my comedy mask…again.”
“Don’t you worry Zooble and Gangle, you darling multi-shaped freaks!” Caine bellowed, “This adventure is only for two, so you don’t need to worry about joining anything. I just wanted to gather all of you to see them off before the most exhilarating voyage of a lifetime!”
“Well, whoever it is, I’m glad they’ve got this opportunity to do so,” Ragatha smiled, “It’ll be nice to hear about it when they finish it.”
“Even if it includes insects!” Kinger interjected, “That’s very important.”
“I mean, its just one more adventure,” Pomni shrugged, “I guess it wouldn’t hurt.”
Caine gasped dramatically, finally, their new little jester was starting to get the hang of it here. “That’s great to hear Pomni, for you and Jax are going to be paired up for this glorious crusade!”
Said jester and rabbit’s faces blanched, they were still barely processing their sudden dreams two nights in a row and still weren’t able to get today’s earlier events out of their heads! Not only that, the two were still trying to process their sudden budding feelings with one another, now Caine wanted them to pair up?! Could they not have five minutes of temporary sanity before being shoved into another bizarre situation?!
“Woah, woah, hold up there, dentures!” Jax stepped forward.
“I really don’t think-” Pomni was about to continue before Caine interrupted.
“Now, now you two!” Caine waved his finger, “No need to be so shy! By the end of this adventure, you two will be closer than ever! Just think of it as team building, especially for you Jax, I don’t think I’ve seen you be close with anyone other than-”
“Don’t,” Jax bit out, making the AI go silent. A small whimper was heard, everyone turned to look at Kinger, the chest piece was clutching his cloak tighter to himself, trying to look as small as possible.
“I…I believe we should continue on with the details of your adventure!”  Caine spluttered, wanting to change the subject as quickly as he could, “After all, there’s no reason to think of the past! Since there’s no ‘past’ for any of you to go back to.”
Pomni’s eyes darted from Caine to Kinger and Jax, curiosity began to bite at her. What happened to make everyone react like that? While she was still learning about the past performers here, she still didn’t know everything. Was there someone that Jax genuinely liked here? Did they abstract like Kaufmo as well? She remembered her first day here, the first time seeing an abstraction. If she didn’t arrive would Kaufmo still be okay? He probably had a family before this realm as well, and now any chance of seeing them again was taken from him.
“Now about your adventure! Both Jax and Pomni have to venture through the winding maze! It will be grovelling, it will be exhausting, it will leave you both wondering when this madness will end! But hey, you will end up the best of buddies the time it’s over, you might even wish you’d have stayed!”
Pomni blinked her brainstorm away, she nearly forgot about the adventure!
“Good luck, and we’ll see you both in the morning!” Before Pomni could ask him what he meant, Caine snapped his fingers and the rest of the tent disappeared before her eyes.
The ground felt different underneath her feet, looking down she realized that she was standing on some sort of pixelated grass. She lifted her head to take in the rest of her surroundings, two tall hedges standing on each side of her.
“Well, this is fantastic,” a sarcastic voice drawled. Oh, right, she was stuck with Jax until this was over, “Thank you so much Caine, this is exactly what I wanted.”
“It’s fine, this is fine!” she didn’t know if she was saying this to both of them or just to herself, “It’s just a maze with long winding paths and tall bushes that you can’t see out of and hey what was that Caine said about this madness not ending!?” She was spiralling, she knew that, but in her defence…it was Pomni. “Oh god! How long are we gonna be in here until we find an exit?! What if we don’t find an exit?!”
“Easy, Pom-Pom,” Jax rolled his eyes, “Caine would lose his entertainment if he kept us in here, now come on, I wanna get out of here as soon as possible.” He started walking a few steps, only to pause when he realised that Pomni wasn’t beside him. He let out a groan when he saw that she was still stuck in the same spot, her red and blue eyes replaced with dark swirls that only appeared when she was too caught up in her mind. He went back over and tapped the back of his hand against her cheek, causing her to gasp and jump. “Come on, the last thing we need is you delaying us because you’re too busy panicking.”
Pomni scoffed, that was unnecessary, “It’s not like I can control my panic attacks, unlike you, you actually choose to be a jerk.”
Jax froze, a smirk curling on his lips. Now this was an interesting development, “Well, well. Looks like the new cat on the block finally found her claws.”
Pomni rolled her eyes, she forgot that Jax could be incredibly annoying, “Let’s just try and find an exit.”
“Whatever you say Pom-pom,” Jax’s smirk fell, returning to his prior grimace as the two continued down the maze.
Their suspicions were corrected when guessing that this maze would last more than a while, each corner they turned was a dead end, each path seemed to lead them back to where they started and when they looked back it seemed like the area where they just were had been blocked off. They didn’t know how long they had been walking, minutes, hours? All they knew was that their feet were aching and that they desperately wanted to leave. Jax was starting to lose his patience. If he were stuck here with anyone else he would have tried to run as far away from them as he could. But for some reason, he had some sort of soft spot for Pomni and he couldn’t stand it. It made things much more frustratingly difficult for him, such as not bearing to leave her behind.
It wasn’t until she tripped for the umpteenth time did he start to lose his patience, he picked her up by the back of her collar, holding her at eye level. He had to bite back a laugh, she really did look like a cat this way, a miserable wet one at that. “I don’t think Zooble has fallen over as much as you have,” he said, “At least he has a reason to be so clumsy.”
“Oh really? And what’s your reason for being such an @SShole?” she challenged him, crossing her arms over her chest, “Or were you just born that way?”
Jax let out a slow breath, dropping Pomni into her feet again, watching her stumble as she regained her balance, “You’re right, I don’t have a reason, as long as I’m watching funny things happen to others I don’t really care.”
“Well that’s definitely a sad way to live,” Pomni mumbled, taking a few steps ahead of him.
“Its better than looking for an exit that isn’t there,” Jax retorted, “I mean, its pretty sad when you think about it."
“At least I didn’t leave you with an abstraction,” Pomni quipped, “Thanks a lot for that! It was so much fun for my first day here. Not!”
“Oh you’re so welcome,” Jax gave her a shit-eating grin, “Always great for the newbie to be traumatized on her first day, it gives ya a great taste of what else is coming.”
Pomni glared at him, oh he was having too much fun with her, “You know Ragatha got really hurt because of you? You could’ve tried to help get Caine but you just ran off to who knows where. Then when I tried to help her my hand started glitching, we could have both died!”
“But you didn’t,” he replied, placing a hand on his hip, “This isn’t my first rodeo with something like this, you would’ve been fine.”
“That doesn’t mean I wasn’t freaked out by it!” Pomni grit her teeth, “Like you said, I’m new, how was I supposed to know that it was gonna be fine?!”
“Look just lay off it already?!” Jax fumed.
“Right, cause nearly getting devoured by a glitchy monstrosity is so easy to forget about,” Pomni walked past him. “God you’re such a pain.”
Jax grumbled under his breath, “What do you want, an apology? That’s not something I do sweetie.”
Pomni growled, whipping back round to face him, “Okay, what is with you?! You say you don’t have a reason to care, yet you defended me earlier today when Caine was yelling at me! What the h%ll was that about?!”
Jax inhaled deeply, now she was starting to get on his nerves, but he seemed to be doing the same to her so at least he had some sort of equal footing, “Like I said, I didn’t want Bubble to destroy the carnival, there’s no deeper meaning.”
“And I don’t believe you,” Pomni frowned, “Otherwise you wouldn’t react that way earlier when Caine was talking about you being close with someone.”
Jax flinched, he spoke in a low tone, “That’s deep water you’re treading there, sweetie. I’d recommend for you to stop while you’re ahead.” He shoved past her, ignoring her scoff.
“At least I’m trying to leave!” she stated, “If I can find a way to do that then I can help the others get out of here too! What have you done other than be a d*)k to everyone here?!”
“You really wanna know Pomni?!” he yelled, turning back and stomping over to her, “I have tried to get out! I’ve tried to collect every single key here and yet none of them has opened an exit! Do you know how it feels, to watch everyone else here slowly give up on finding a way out?! You haven’t been here as long as I have! You haven’t seen what I’ve seen! And it hurts to have everyone tell you that it’s pointless in trying to leave, trying to find a way back to a life you don’t remember! So yes, I’m awful and I shouldn’t act this way! I get it! You don’t think I hate it too?! But for some reason when I’m with you I just-!”
He froze, catching himself before he fell off the edge. Pomni’s eyes were wide and cautious, great, he was scaring her off. This should be a good thing, he wouldn’t have to deal with these stupid butterflies anymore, so why did he feel so upset about it? But instead of her yelling at him to leave her alone, all she said was, “I’m sorry that you went through that, but don’t ever speak to me like that again.” A tear fell from her eye, “And maybe it is pointless for me to find an exit like how you tried to as well, but I wanna go back to a world and see what it can offer me rather than live in a place surrounded by fear and void. Even if the life I had before was bad, at least I’ll know that I’m able to change it into something else…I feel sorry for you Jax, I really do.”
With that, she finally walked away, slowly enough for him to catch up but enough for her to leave some distance between them. He shouldn’t care, he doesn’t care, he won’t care. But, just looking at her, seeing the disappointment in her eyes. There was just no denying the raw heartache he felt after hearing those words from her. He really did fall for her, didn’t he? And he probably messed this up too, just like…no, he doesn’t need to think about that event, not anymore.
The next hour of walking was nothing but awkward filled silence. The whole time, the two just wanted to say something, anything to the other, but the words just couldn’t come to mind, and they were just getting too exhausted to keep going. Though there was no indication of night and day here, the way that their eyes kept drooping and the struggle to keep going was starting to overcome their senses.
“We-um,” Pomni stuttered, Jax’s heart fluttered a bit, was he happy at the fact that she finally said something? “We should probably try and get some sleep. It isn’t a good idea to keep going like this.”
“Yeah, we…we should,” Jax nodded, “It’ll stop you from constantly tripping over your feet, eh?” He meant for it to be a joke, but she didn’t react other than a simple hum, he could understand why though.
They walked over to one of the hedges, sitting and leaning against the back of it. It wasn’t the best bed but there wasn’t anything else that they could do. Pomni shuffled away from him, to give Jax some room. “Well, night,” she said softly.
“It’s not able to be night here,” Jax spoke, “But I get what you mean.”
Like that, they turned away from each other, shutting their eyes. Neither of them aware that they were wondering what their dream would be about tonight.

.
The coffee table in Amber’s living room was scattered with treats. From the remains of gingerbread men and houses to chocolate chip and sugar cookies, even some sweet mince pies, two mugs of hot chocolate and a can of whipped cream on the side. It definitely wasn’t a healthy breakfast, but this sugary calamity was something special Penny liked to share with her mother since she started homeschooling. When things started to turn around for her, Amber made sure that every single aspect of her life was, while not perfect, something for Penny to look forward to. And thus, dessert for breakfast on Christmas morning was born.
Amber and Penny were lazing on the couch, the TV in front of them playing ‘The Grinch’ while the two stuffed themselves to their hearts content. Amber had squirted some whipped cream into her mouth before automatically doing the same with Penny, not even taking her eyes off the TV to know that her daughter had opened her mouth for some. After placing the can back onto the table, she and Penny leaned back into the cushions, with Amber wrapping her arms around her youngest daughter and holding her close. “I feel like at some point we’re going to become the couch if we keep doing this each year,” Penny giggled.
“Honey, we already have,” Amber smiled, pressing a kiss to Penny’s hair, “We are couch people and always will be couch people. I still can’t believe you used to be scared of this movie when you were a kid.”
“That was until I discovered the magic that was Jim Carrey’s comedic line delivery,” Penny replied, “The man’s a legend.”
“He really is, and you will be too my little costuming star!” Amber nuzzled her daughter’s nose with her nose, laughing at Penny’s groans.
“Mom!” Penny buried her head into Amber’s shoulder, “Stop!” She didn’t mean it and Amber knew that.
“I can’t help it if my daughter is amazingly talented,” Amber grinned, loosening up a bit as she peered down to look at Penny’s face. “You know, you seem a little different after that date with Jack at the Christmas fair.”
“I-what-mom!” Penny spluttered, her face as red as a tomato, “It was not a date!”
“Mmhmm,” Amber was not convinced in the slightest, “Baby, I’m old enough and wise enough to realise what a date looks like.”
“Mom…you, wise?” Penny stated.
“Ah, ah, I’m not finished,” Amber waved a finger in front of her face, “Trust me when I say this, I’ve been watching your sister fall in love with Winter and I’ve seen how they act around each other. You know when they first met it was over carrot cake?”
“Yeah, I’ve heard this story before,” Penny smiled, “There were having lunch at work and Winter got carrot cake because it was her favourite while Riley hated it.”
“And the two debated the whole day about cake flavours that they ended up becoming friends,” Amber continued, “And every time they saw each other Riley always brought Winter carrot cake.”
“What does this have to do with Jack?” Penny asked.
“I’ve seen the way Riley looks at Winter,” Amber told her, “She looks at her as though if she was the only thing that matters in the world. She could be surrounded by all the treasures in the world but she would still choose Winter. I saw how that boy looked at you before he left, in a room full of riches he would choose you.”
Penny blushed, thinking back to Jack kissing her cheek. The way he looked at her back then, it filled her stomach with butterflies and her heart thump hard. She never felt this way about anyone before, but the way he would smile at her, send her winks and always make her feel safe, it was hard not to fall for him. The only question was, did he feel the same way back? Sure he kissed her back but that was only on the forehead, what if it was a friendly kiss? What if she makes him feel awkward once she tells him how she feels? What if he wants nothing to do with her anymore?
“Penny, hey, it’s okay,” Amber pushed her daughter’s hair away from her eyes, taking her cheeks into her hands, “I can hear the cogs in your brain turning, but trust me when I say this, your dad has never looked at me the way Jack looks at you.”
Penny bit her lip, she knew that though her mother loved David in the past, he had hurt and betrayed her in many ways too. It was why they had these sugary breakfasts for Christmas, little things like that as a way for Amber to show how sorry she was for what David did to them. If there was a way Penny could show her that she wasn’t at fault, that she forgave her for everything that happened, that it was David who should be at fault for always gaslighting and manipulating Amber into thinking he was still the same man she married, but he was nothing of the sort.
“Mom,” Penny snuggled further into her mother, providing her with the comfort she needed.
“It’s okay baby, I’ve made my peace with it,” Amber held her tighter, “My only regret is that I didn’t realise he was this way before we were married. He gave me false hope and promises, love-bombed me until I could only see the world in rose tinted glasses and by the time I could finally get them off, he got you into that car crash. Jack isn’t like that. I’ve met him a few times while Winter and Riley were dating, and while he didn’t fully introduce himself, Winter’s mom always spoke about him. What I know of him is that while he’s scared and has been hurt many times before, unlike David, he wants to get better not just for his family, but for himself too. That’s more than David has ever done for me or for us.”
“Hey,” Penny turned her head to look up at her mother, “David fucked us all up. And yes, I’m still really scared with giving others a chance, but you’re one of the reasons why I’m able to get help. You were there for me every single step of my recovery and made sure that I was safe and happy. Parenting is a two-person job and not only did you have to do most of it on your own, but you also had two kids under your belt and raised us no matter what was thrown at you. Even if you didn’t leave David before the crash, you helped shield Riley and I as much as you could so that we had a good childhood. Don’t let your shitty ex-husband make you blame yourself for being a great mom.”
“Oh, babygirl, how did I get so lucky with you and your sister,” Amber pressed kisses over Penny’s face, her daughter’s nose scrunching up as she giggled. Her mother pulled away, smiling at her again.
“And you really think that…that Jack sees me like how you said?” Penny mumbled.
Amber gave her a look, her brow was raised and mouth was agape, “Honey, the guy wanted to wait for the perfect moment to ask for your number and kissed your forehead under the moonlight, the man is wrapped around your finger and you don’t even know it.” Penny blushed, ducking slightly under the blanket she was in. “Pen, I’d say go for it, only if you want to. You seem so much more yourself around him. But if he breaks your heart, I’m sending Riley after him.”
Penny burst out laughing at that, “Riley would send him to an early grave!”
“I know,” Amber stated matter-of-factly, “And I won’t hesitate to let her do it.”
“Mom no!” Penny snorted, “And you wonder where Riley gets these tendencies from.”
“Good,” Amber grinned, “That means I taught her well.”
Amber couldn’t help but join in on the laughter, just hearing her daughter laugh was enough to help her forget that she had even mentioned or thought about David. Penny was just that important to her. If anything happened to her…no, this was a good moment, there was so reason to think about the inevitable.
Penny’s phone dinged from the coffee table, sobering up from her laugh session, she leaned over to see what notification she got. What she saw made her gasp and nearly drop her phone.
“Winter proposed to Riley!” She squealed to Amber, the older woman immediately leaning over to check the recent news, “And she said yes!”
“Oh my god!” Amber screamed with joy, shaking Penny by the shoulders, “My daughter is getting married, I’m so happy!”
“Mom I know you’re excited too but I’m gonna be sick!” Penny warbled, starting to get dizzy.
“I’m sorry baby but it’s just, aaaahhhhh!” Amber got up from the couch, “I’m just so happy for her! Wait here, I’m gonna get my phone and message your sister!”
Penny giggled at her mother’s antics as she ran out the room, turning away to look at the image on her phone again. Riley and Winter’s faces weren’t in the picture, but what she did see was the Winter was behind the camera, holding Riley’s hand as she showed off her new engagement ring. This was without a doubt going to be an interesting Christmas dinner.

Jack straightened up his tie again, before unfolding it and retying it again as he stared at himself in the mirror. This was the first time he and Penny were having their families together for dinner, and after the kiss from the Christmas fair, he wanted to follow up on that. Penny had taken over his mind and senses to the point that he had to see her in person again.
Winter and her 8-year-old sister Nina stood at the corner watching him, with Nina’s twin Alex still upstairs getting ready. “What’s the retying count at now Nina?” Winter asked.
“49, wait, it just got up to 50,” Nina told her.
Winter whistled cooly, “Jeez, that’s a new record.”
“I can hear you both you know!” Jack called to them, “You guys wanna keep standing there or do I need to give Nina’s new toys to the bogeyman.”
“No!” Nina cried, running away back up to her room to check if her new Christmas presents were still intact.
“You don’t need to keep worrying,” Winter walked up to him, shoving his hands away and took his tie into her own, “You were blushing like a tomato after kissing that girl and she was just the same. Just play your cards right, take it slow and things will work out.” She wrapped the tie into a knot.
“That’s easy for the recently engaged lesbian to say,” Jack pointed out, “Which by the way, congratulations again.”
“Thank you,” Winter grinned.
“I just…I’ve never felt this way about anyone before,” Jack sighed, “I never thought I deserved someone who could make me this happy. Every time she walks into a room I forget how to breath. I can’t mess this up.”
Winter stopped her hands for a moment, “The only way you’re gonna mess things up is if you let those thoughts win. You’ve been doing great and you told each other what happened when you both were kids and she still wants to see you. Just take a breath, let me fix your tie and just let the night lead itself. I didn’t have much of a plan for proposing to Riley other than doing it on Christmas and she still agreed to marry me. Plans are overrated…sometimes, you know what I mean.”
“Yeah,” Jack nodded, “I do.” He took a breath as Winter finally finished his tie, checking himself out in the mirror. He flashed himself a grin, “Still as handsome as always.”
“And he’s back,” Winter rolled her eyes.
“Ooooh!” Both Jack and Winter turned to the sound of teasing voices, looking up to the stairs and seeing Nina and Alex with mischievous grins on their faces while chanting, “Jack has a girlfriend! Jack has a girlfriend!”
“Jack is gonna give all your gifts to the bogeyman!” He retorted, making the two scream and rush downstairs into the living room.
Meanwhile, Riley was busy helping carry the plates and cutlery to the table making sure everything was carefully placed on the Christmas-snowflake themed tablemats. Winter’s mother, Laura, came in carrying a hot plate of steamed vegetables, focusing on her attention on the food to make sure it wouldn’t fall before Riley came over to take it from her. “Here, Mrs Alvarez,” she said, “Let me.”
“Oh Riley there’s no need,” Laura patted her back, “I just wanted you to relax with Winter, let me and Marcus manage it.”
“I’m going to become part of your family soon. Please, allow me,” Riley persisted, placing down the pot near the centre of the table.
“Oh you’re a good girl Riley,” Laura took Riley’s hand into hers, “It’s no wonder Winter fell in love with you.”
“Mama!” Winter flushed, entering the dining room with Jack hot on her heels, “Please save the embarrassing stuff for the wedding!”
“No Laura continue,” Jack grinned, “This is karma for teasing me about Penny.”
“Oh, Penny Reed?” Winter’s father Marcus entered the dining room, his smile wide and his eyes crinkling with joy. “Winter told me so much about your date with her at the fair. Tell me more about her!”
Shit Jack cursed internally, with Winter sending him a smug look. “Well, I-”
“Yes, do go on,” Riley’s firm voice chided him, almost threatening him to not slip up. “Tell us more about my sister Jack.”
And now he had to tread carefully, especially talking about the younger sister of a 6-foot redhead with the experience of breaking the bones of criminals and throwing people over her shoulder. Please let whatever luck he had be on his side during this moment. “W-well she’s kind, funny,” He gulped as Riley squinted at him, he really didn’t want to die tonight, “And she one of the best people I’ve ever met in my entire life…whenever I’m with her, she makes me the happiest I’ve ever been. I just hope that I’m making her happy too.”
Riley softened a bit, did that mean she approved of his answer or thinking of plans ranging from A to Z to murder him?! This woman terrified him to no end!
“Well, she must be pretty special if you think that of her,” Laura beamed, “I can’t wait to officially meet my other daughter-in-law! Now if you excuse me, I need to get the pork out of the oven.”
“Hang on, I’ll help!” Marcus called after his wife as he trailed after her.
That was when the doorbell rang, light and quick on his feet, Jack bounded for the door. He straightened his jacket and tie one more time, cleared his throat rolled back his shoulder, he could do this. With a turn of the knob, the door swung open, revealing Penny glowing under the moonlight. Suddenly, his voice was cut in his throat and his palms were sweating despite the chill rolling in from the open door. The only word he managed to say was, “Hi.”
“Hi,” she shyly replied, her hands tightening on a small gift bag she brought.
He shook his head quickly, letting himself reboot as he turned to Amber, her smirk held nothing but the knowledge of a woman who knew all too well about what the two felt for one another. “Amber,” he greeted, holding out his hand for her to shake, “It’s good to see you again.”
“And you Jack,” Amber returned the handshake, letting him lead her and Penny into the house before shutting the door behind them. “I see you’ve cleaned up well.” It was a normal sentence, but her words told a totally different story.
Oh, she knew, she really knew! He was an open book and Amber had flicked through every single page. “I-I always dress this nice for Christmas, ma’am,” he stammered, “It wouldn’t be formal of me to not look this good for the holidays.”
Amber hummed, sure she believed what he said, but what Jack failed to realise was that Amber noticed his suit was the colour blue – Penny’s favourite colour.
“Hey mom,” Riley made a beeline to her mother, wrapping her arms around her, “I hope walking here wasn’t too bad with the snow,”
“Don’t worry baby, it was fine,” Amber pressed a kiss to her hair before pulling back, “But enough about me, let me see the ring!”
Riley blushed, unable to hide the giddy smile as she held up her hand.
“Oh my god, Riley!” Penny squealed, hugging her older sister. “Winter got you a good one! I’m so happy for you!”
“I know,” Riley laughed, “I’m the luckiest woman in the world.”
“Actually, that would be me,” Winter slid her arms around fiancé’s waist from behind, resting her head on her shoulder, “I’m the one who’s marrying this beautiful woman.”
“Flattery already?” Riley pressed her cheek against Winter’s, “And the marriage hasn’t even begun.”
“Am I not allowed to compliment my soon-to-be-wife?” Winter kissed Riley’s cheek, “Besides, that’s only 20% of my flattery, I’m saving the other 80% for my vows.”
“Dear god,” Riley slapped her palm against her forehead, knowing Winter, she was going to leave Riley as red as a tomato.
Penny stifled a laugh, Jack screamed internally at the sound. How can anyone be this fucking cute?!
“Penny!” Laura came rushing down the hall, her apron stained with some type of sauce, “I’m so happy we can finally meet.”
She opened her arms, ready to bring Penny in for a hug, only for the girl to freeze and back away. Laura faltered, her brows furrowing with concern at Penny’s startled reaction. Winter was quick to step in.
“Mama, remember,” she told her, “Penny is funny with being touched unless it’s by someone she fully knows and trusts or she’s the one going first.”
“Oh goodness,” Laura gasped, “Penny sweetie I’m so sorry I genuinely forgot!”
“It’s fine, really it’s fine,” Penny reassured her, stepping forward, “Honestly I’m able to tell when it’s a simple mistake.”
Jack’s stomach churned, all those years of bullying and her father berating her made Penny so frightened. He just wanted to shield her from everything bad so that she would never have to feel that sort of fear and pain ever again. Out of anyone in this room, he could relate to that type of fear.
“I’ll make sure to let the others know, I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable during your first meal here,” Laura informed her.
“Thank you Mrs Alvarez,” Penny smiled, “I really appreciate it.”
“It’s absolutely no problem honey,” Laura emphasized, “Now I’ve gotta get the rest of these plates out, please, make yourselves at home.” With that, she turned to walk back into the kitchen.
“Here, let me take your coats,” Jack offered, holding his arm out.
“What a gentleman!” Amber gave Penny a look, making the girl glare at her mother, “Penny you better snatch him up before anyone else does.”
“Mom!” Penny hissed. Jack was fairly sure his face resembled the red lights flashing on the Christmas tree.
“Mom, why don’t you and Penny just wait in the living room please!” Riley exasperated, desperate for her mother to not spout out whatever she had in mind.
Amber put her hands up in surrender, “Alright, I yield.”
“Don’t worry Amber,” Winter took the woman’s arm into hers and led her into the living room, “She’s been like that with me whenever I point them out as well.”
“Honestly Winter, what it your fiancé like?” she joked, leaving Riley gaping behind them.
“I heard that!” Riley hollered, chasing after them, leaving Jack and Penny alone in the hallway together.
Jack took this moment to take in the garment she was wearing. It was a simple crimson dress with a floor length pleated skirt, long off-the-shoulder bell sleeves and a ruffled neckline. “You look…wow,” he breathed, how was she able to take something so simple and still look so stunning? She truly was remarkable.
“Thanks,” she tucked a piece of hair behind her ear, “I wasn’t gonna wear it but I thought that it would be nice for this evening.”
“You’re so beautiful,” he knew what he said, and he wasn’t going to take it back, not when she peered up at him through her long lashes with a gasp.
“Y-you’re ridiculous,” she uttered, handing him her jacket.
“Hey, just telling the truth here,” he replied as he went to hang up her jacket on the wall, “Besides, someone’s gotta point out how pretty you are.”
“Keep the chivalry to yourself sir,” Penny placed a hand on her hip.
“Can’t help it, I’m dreamy,” he was unable to keep the grin off his face at her pout. His face softened, holding out his arm, “Shall we?”
Penny raised a brow at him, grinning. “Mr Jack how thoughtful of you.”
“Well I have to put the wellbeing of our guests first,” He joked back, “Let me introduce you to everyone else.”
Penny nodded and slipped her arm into his, the two unable to fight of the chortles at their current predicament. He led her into the living room, Amber was already sitting down talking to Riley and Winter. On the sofa across from them was another couple around Marcus and Laura’s age. “Penny, this is Winter’s aunt and uncle, Anya and Winston.” he introduced. She gave them a nod before Jack led her to another young woman around her age. “This is their daughter Kiara.”
“It’s really nice to meet you Penny,” Kiara greeted.
“It’s nice to meet you too,” Penny returned.
Winston spoke up, “Laura’s been talking nonstop about ‘Jack’s new sweetheart,’ so it’s nice to finally meet the lovely lady in person.”
“Of course Laura’s been talking about us,” Jack groaned, Penny had to bite her lip to stop herself from laughing.
“She’s so pretty Jack!” Anya gushed from her seat, “Where did you find this lovely girl?”
Both of them paled, sharing a look. The story about how they met was always going to be an awkward one, wasn’t it? They were saved by the sound of thundering feet descending down the stairs as Nina and Alex came bounding over to Jack and clutched each of his leg.
“Jack!” Nina cheered, “Penny’s here!”
“Yes, I can see that-ah-guys let go!” He stumbled over his feet and words, how much sugar did these two have earlier?
“Jack has a girlfriend! Jack has a girlfriend!” Alex chanted.
Penny and Jack spluttered over their words, at a loss of what they heard. “We’re not-” Penny gasped.
“It’s not like that-!” Jack objected “We’re just-”
“-Friends!” They chorused. Friends yes, that was what they were, but it just didn’t sound like something they wanted to continue being. They were unable to keep the daydreams of each other away anymore, to constantly wonder what the other was doing, what other hobbies they might have, if the other felt the same way.
“Nina, Alex!” Laura came back through again, the apron gone as she took each twin’s arm in her hands and pulled them off Jack, much to his relief. “That’s enough harassing Jack, dinner is ready.”
“I can’t wait to see what you’ve made this year Laura,” Winston clapped his hands together.
“I’ve gotta say I’m pretty excited to eat what you’ve made as well,” Amber got up, “As well as the table gossip as well.” She gestured to Jack and Penny.
“Oh Amber you must sit next to me, I have so much to share,” Laura not-so-subtly gestured to Jack and Penny.
Both mothers grinned, leaving Jack and Penny flustered messes unable to move from their spots.
“I’m so sorry about that,” Jack unlinked his arm, immediately missing Penny’s warmth.
“No, I should be sorry,” Penny objected, “My mom can be a lot sometimes.”
“Well I guess that’s just another thing we have in common,” Jack nervously rubbed the back of his neck.
“Yeah, I think so,” Penny’s embarrassment began to slip away, Jack’s seemingly doing so as well.
“Penny!” Riley interjected, taking her sister’s hand, “Sit next to me!”
“But I-woah!” Riley dragged her younger sister into the dining room, plopping her down to the seat on Riley’s left while Winter sat on Riley’s right. Guess she was still a bit protective.
“What are you waiting for over there dude? Come on!” Winter waved a hand over.
Jack let out a slow breath as he walked over, sitting opposite from Penny. At least it would be easier to talk to her face to face without twisting his head. Soon, everyone was loading pork, bread and steamed vegetables onto their plates, Kiara was taking photos of her food with Anya scolding her to put her phone away, Winston was already scooping up spoonful’s into his mouth, Nina and Alex grimaced at the greens on their plates and asking when dessert was, Laura was pouring wine into her and Amber’s glasses before clinking them together, Marcus was listing off each shop he had to visit just to make sure he got every right ingredient for tonight’s meal, Winter and Riley were holding hands and had all their focus on each other instead of the food in front of them, and Penny and Jack kept trading small glances while eating, their eyes holding their own conversation as the drowned everyone else out.
“So Jack,” Anya piped up, “Do you have any plans once you graduate?”
“Uh, what?” he barely registered the question until it finally caught up to him. “Oh, right! Um, I’m trying to apply for an internship at this game company called C&A, they hire a lot of indie and free-lancing creators and help promote their games so I’m hoping to get a place there.”
“I think you’ll get it,” Penny said, “I’ve seen some of the stuff Jack worked on, he’s really talented.”
“And so are you little lady,” he said that mostly to see her cute pout again, “Laura, did you know that Penny is a costume designer?”
“I did,” Laura nodded, “And I’ve seen some of the pictures of her creations that you showed me, Penny you really do have a talent.”
“She’s been designing ever since she was six,” Riley said, “I have no idea where she gets her ideas from, it’s incredible.”
“It meets the bar at least,” Penny objected, “Trust me there’s people in my class that are way better than I am.”
“Don’t sell yourself short Pen, every time you send me a picture of something you’ve made It just shows how creative you are. Someone’s gonna reach out to you one day and say ‘Penny, you are one of the most talented people in the world and I wanna hire you!’ it’ll happen one day, I swear on it, after all I’m never wrong,” Jack said, pointing his fork at her.
“You? Never wrong?” Penny said doubtingly.
“What? I’ll have you know I’m very smart,” he frowned mockingly.
“I’m gonna have to agree with my sister there,” Riley said.
“Oh come on!” Jack cried and turned to Winter, “A little help here?”
“Why, everything they said is true,” she chortled.
Jack moaned as the rest of the table laughed, clearly taking pride in his misery.
Penny’s giggles died down, wiping a tear of mirth from her eye as she faced him again, “Well hopefully someone will take pity on my designs one day.”
“You mean someone will see how exceptional you are,” Jack pointed out.
“Awfully generous but sure, we’ll stick with that,” Penny rolled her eyes fondly.
“Let’s just hope he says what he means instead of talking out of his ass,” Riley quipped.
Penny threw her sister a look, “Riley,”
“What?” Riley shrugged her shoulder, “I’m not saying he’s wrong.”
Amber raised a brow at her daughter. It was a joke, she knew that was going to happen. But she knew Riley long enough to know when her daughter was hiding something, and more importantly, when Riley was hurting.
“Speaking of designs,” Penny said, “Riley, you gotta let me make your dress.”
“What, you don’t need to do that, I just want you to enjoy the wedding,” Riley interjected.
“Can’t hear you, I’m too busy thinking about your dress since I’m the best sister ever,” Penny gave her sister a sly grin.
Riley huffed a laugh, once her sister was inspired nothing could stop her.
“Jack?” Nina piped up.
“What’s up squirt?”
“Can you sing ‘No Girl’s Toy? after dessert?” she pleaded.
“Yeah, “No Girl’s Toy!” Alex cheered with his sister, “Oh please Jack, please sing that!”
Jack flushed, waving his hands in exasperation, “Woah, woah hang on! I’m not singing that!”
“Please Jack, please!” The twins chorused.
“It’s just a little song Jack,” Winter jeered, Jack glared at her.
“Yeah,” Riley joined in on her fiancé’s antics, “What’s so wrong with the Raggedy Andy song Jack?”
“I sung that one time and suddenly whenever it’s brought up I’m forced to sing it!” he told them, “I’m putting my foot down on this one, there’s no way that any of you can convince me too-”
“Raggedy Ann was my favourite movie growing up,” Penny mentioned, “I’d love to hear you sing that song. Please?”
Oh god, Penny’s chocolate brown eyes had such an effective grip on him, how on earth could he say no to those lovely eyes? He sighed, “Fine, one song and that’s it.”
“Yay!” The twins cheered before tucking back into their meal.
“You should bring Penny over more often,” said Alex.
“Yeah she makes you do fun stuff,” Nina agreed.
“It is very interesting how easily swayed you were,” Laura joined in.
Jack wanted the ground to open up and swallow him whole, he was being way too obvious with how he felt. “Please, I just want to eat my food without any further humiliation.”
“You know Marcus, he’s acting just like you before you started going out with Laura,” Winston said, “The red face, being easily swayed, the teasing. I’m getting a bit of déjà vu here.”
Jack bit down on his fork hard as Penny began to quietly squeal like a kettle, this night was already too much for the both of them.
After dinner and dessert was finished, Riley was helping Laura wash up the dishes despite the woman requesting Riley to sit down. “Laura, do you mind if I have a word with my daughter?” Amber asked, entering the kitchen.
“Oh, of course,” Laura said before turning back to Riley again, “Remember sweetie, you’re our guest, make sure you relax tonight.”
“Just after I’m finished with this dish Mrs Alvarez,” Riley continued to scrub the plate, “Than I’ll relax.”
Laura patted her back, leaving the mother and daughter in the kitchen alone together. “Is everything okay with you?” Amber asked.
“What do you mean?” Riley didn’t take her eyes off the plate.
“I mean with Jack and Penny,” Amber told her, “I thought you were fine with him back when you started dating Winter.”
“I am,” Winter dried off the plate and put it away, “If this is about Penny, that’s just me being protective.”
“I know that,” Amber walked over to her, “But I also noticed that you seemed a bit aggravated towards him.”
Riley whipped round, “No I wasn’t, I was just looking out for Penny.”
“Penny is a grown adult who can make her own choices,” Amber walked closer to her, “Riley, baby, why are you so worried?”
“Come on mom, you aren’t at least a little bit worried?” Riley argued, “You aren’t worried that he’s like the boys from Penny’s high school. Penny’s got a sensitive heart, what if he breaks it like they did? Those boys didn’t actually like her, they wanted to control her. And once she didn’t give them what they wanted they would just dump her! What if he’s like that, what if he makes her hate herself? What if he makes her so scared to the point she stops talking again? What if we actually lose her? What if-”
“-If he’s like David,” Amber finished for her, “That’s what it is, right?”
Riley froze, part of her knew that this was why she was so scared for her younger sister, but she wanted David out of her mind. He already tried to force himself back into Riley’s life many times to ask for money, and she never forgave him for involving Penny in that car crash. She hated him, she hated him so much that she would never let anyone else hurt Penny like that again, she failed with David, she failed with those stupid high school boys and she won’t make that mistake ever again. “I have to be careful mom,” Riley said to her mother, “I can’t let Penny feel that kind of pain again.”
“I know baby,” Amber said, “When I heard of Jack and Penny seeing each other I got worried as well. It’s always my first instinct. But now, I know that I can’t let David control what could actually be good for Penny, I won’t let him get into my head like that. I’m still scared, baby believe me, but not as much as I used to be.” She cupped her daughter’s cheek, gently lifting her head to meet her eyes, “David hurt you too Riley, I know you hate thinking about him, but you’re allowed to feel betrayed as well. If I ever made you feel that you weren’t allowed to hurt for what he did to you, I’m so sorry. I’m your mother and I’m supposed to protect my babies. Yes, I protected Penny, but don’t think for a second I won’t protect you too, even after you’ve left the nest.”
Amber held her arms out for her daughter. After so much anger and frustrations for her father after so long, Riley all but broke in her mother’s arms, Amber stroking her hair and whispering comforts into her ear. “It’s okay baby, I’m here, mama’s here.”
A soft sniffle made them turn to the doorway, seeing Penny there with a few leaked tears. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to eavesdrop,” she whimpered, “Can I have a hug too?”
Riley and Amber opened their arms for her, letting the youngest daughter cry along with them as their mother squeezed them both. In that moment, Riley wasn’t an engaged woman and Penny wasn’t an aspiring college student. They were just the 10- and 14-year-old girls letting their mother sooth them after so much pain.
After a while, their tears were dried and the three headed back into the living room. Everyone rushed up to them, panicking and asking them if they were all right. They told the rest of the family that they were fine, just a mother and her two daughters picking up a few fallen pieces.
It wasn’t until Penny erupted into a fit of giggles, seeing Jack being the one to pout this time as he held up a microphone and had the TV ready to play ‘No Girl’s Toy.’ Everyone was immediately seated, ready to hear the performance.
“I hope my suffering entertains you monsters,” he mumbled, before pressing play on the music. He gave out one final sigh before he began to sing.
Well, you can push me, shove me, turn me around, but I'm no girl's toy!
You can tie me, toss me, upside or down, but I'm no girl's toy!
I sing my own sweet melody, I go my own sweet way.
I won't beg 'round tomorrow for the kind of affection that was free today!
Oh, you can squeeze me, tease me; say I'm your own but I'm no girl's toy!
You can charm me, chase me, follow me home; I won't be coy!
You may not like it much but I'm my own best boy,
And not some sugar and spicy, lacy and nicey, sissy you're gonna enjoy!
No, I'm no girl's toy!
Everyone applauded and clapped as he continued to sing. He was embarrassed, that was for sure. But seeing Penny so carefree and happy, no worries and stress in those beautiful eyes of hers, just having fun with everyone else, he would sing this song for the rest of his life as long as she was happy. He was unable to stop his pleased smile while he sang.
Riley rested her head on Winter’s shoulder, she didn’t need to say anything for Winter to know when her fiancé needed her. She kept looking between Jack and Penny, just seeing what he would do for her, she knew that he wasn’t a bad person, although her protectiveness would always take over her senses. However she knew that Penny had to do this on her own, but for the first time in a while, she believed that her little sister was safe.

.
.
Spring had arrived, the perfect atmosphere for Riley and Winter’s wedding to take place. They had booked a hotel for the night and rented out it’s ballroom for tonight’s event. There was only one thing on everyone’s minds, make sure this wedding went off without a hitch.
Since Christmas, Penny had put all her focus on making the perfect dress for Riley, something that was pristine and bridal while also making sure that this dress was something only Riley would wear. Jack had facetimed her every time she was sewing, making sure she was getting on well with the dress while also making sure she was eating and drinking enough fluids. He had also seen the final result of the dress and he was determined that once Winter saw Riley walking down the isle wearing that, she would promptly burst into tears.
After hours of setting up flowers and decorations, making sure the place was spotless, the meals were delicious, the dance floor was ready, getting changed into their wedding outfits and the chocolate fondue was prepared, everyone could finally breathe until the wedding officially begun.
Jack was currently standing at the end of the aisle, waiting for Winter to walk up with her father. That would be the order, the brides would wait in their dressing rooms, wait for one of them to walk up the aisle first before leaving their own room to walk up as well, in order for neither of them to see their gowns.
He wore a black tux with a simple white blouse underneath, fiddling with his cuffs one more time before resting his hands. Of course Winter had asked him to be her best man, it was expected since he was practically her adopted brother. Alex was beside him, standing proud and taking his job as the ring bearer seriously. He ruffled the boy’s hair, making him laugh before Laura sent a look to the boys, telling them to behave.
Everyone straightened up when the music began. The doors opened, revealing Nina as the flower girl, spreading flowers across the aisle as a few bridesmaids followed, including Kiara, each of them wearing soft silvery grey dresses. There was a swell of pride when he watched Winter walk through the doors and up the aisle, her arm secured in Marcus’s as the man led his daughter up while his eyes welled with tears. Winter wore a snow-white gown with a full-layered skirt while her bodice consisted of a sweetheart neckline and spaghetti straps. Some would call it simple, Winter called it timeless.
Once she arrived at the top of the aisle, her father kissed her on the cheek and whispered praise into her ear. It was only when she stood at the top and her father sat down, Jack noticed her clutching her bouquet of roses while trembling like a leaf. He leaned over and whispered, “You’re okay. Riley has been head over heals with you ever since you met.”
“What if she changes her mind?” she whispered back, “What if she realises we’re too different and leaves?”
“That’s not possible,” he told her, “You too are proof of the carrot cake theory working.”
“Excuse me?” she asked, baffled.
“The carrot cake theory,” he said, “You love it and Riley hates it, yet she always brought a freshly homemade carrot cake because you it’s your favourite. You too are proof that the theory works, that opposites attract.”
Winter snorted, “You just blatantly ripped off the olive theory.”
“Mine is better,” he sniffed, “Besides, it got you to stop shaking.”
Winter looked down at her hands, he was right, she had stopped shaking. The doors opened and Winter’s breath hitched as she gawked at her bride. Riley’s arm was in her mothers, her dress was an off-the-shoulder mermaid cut with a train, the white fabric adorned with glittered floral embroidery and long sleeves. The dress clung to her, Winter let a few tears fall, she was beautiful.
Jack was taken aback to, not by the bride, but by her maid of honour. Penny’s dress wasn’t as grand, yes, but he couldn’t take her eyes off her as she followed her sister. Her dress consisted of a purplish rouge chiffon fabric, a long A-line skirt, a straight across neckline and long balloon sleeves. He fell in love all over again.
Once Riley reached the end of the aisle, her hands latched onto Winter’s as Jack and Penny took a hold of their bouquets. Both brides were focused on each other, nothing else mattered. Once Amber sat down, did the wedding begin.
“Dearly beloved,” the officiator spoke, “We are gathered here today for the wonderful union of Riley Reed and Amber Alvarez. These two have proven that despite our differences, there is a love that can be found no matter what. Today, we are here to celebrate that love as these lovely ladies become not just married, but soulmates on this day. Winter, your vows.”
Winter took a shaky breath, “Riley, when I first met you, I won’t lie, I was a bit scared of you,” That earned a laugh from the crowd. “But after getting to know you, knowing how much you love your family, what you’ll do to make sure our clients get the justice they deserve, and knowing that despite your front, you are one of the kindest people I’ve ever met and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”
Riley began to cry as well, unable to keep all the affection she felt for this woman at bay. With the officiator’s okay, she began her speech. “Winter, every time I look at you I just keep asking myself, how did I get so lucky? How did I deserve the most perfect girl in the world? You look at the world with such positivity and kindness that I couldn’t not fall in love with you. Every time I look at you, you remind me why I became a private investigator, to help amazing people like you make the world a better place. I just…I really fucking love you Winter!”
Winter gave her a wet laugh, God she wanted to kiss her so bad.
“Winter,” the officiator said, “Do you take Riley Reed to be your wife, in sickness and in health, until the day you part, may you be together?”
“I do!” Winter replied immediately.
“And do you Riley-”
“I do, a thousand times I do!” Riley couldn’t stop the tears, not caring if her makeup got ruined.
“May we have the rings?” the officiator asked. Alex puffed his chest and beamed, carrying the rings over to the brides. The women thanked the young boy as the slipped each ring onto each other’s finger before holding hands again. “By the power vested in me, I know pronounce you too married. You may kiss the-”
The two didn’t wait for the officiator to finished before slamming their lips against each other’s, the crowd erupting into applause. Jack’s focus wasn’t on the couple though, his eyes travelled to Penny as she cheered for her older sister. Her eyes met Jack’s, the two of them just staring for a moment before giving each other a smile. It was in the moment that the two decided internally that one day, they wanted to have this moment and say ‘I do’ to one another. Tonight, they decided, would be the night that they would stop being ‘friends.’
.
.
.
The dance floor was empty apart from the newlyweds, holding each other in their arms as they let the music carry their slow steps. They weren’t able to keep their hands off each other since they were married, afraid that if they did then everything would disappear. By the time the first dance ended, the music picked up the pace and everyone was on the dance floor, dancing the night away, congratulating the couple and unafraid to be slightly more than tipsy.
Winter and Riley even threw their bouquets, having their backs turned to make sure it would be a surprise. When they turned round, they saw that Winter’s bouquet was held by one of the bridesmaids, and Riley’s was plopped into Penny’s hands.
“Penny’s gonna marry Jack!” Nina bellowed, she already had too much sugar from the fondue. It didn’t stop everyone whispering knowingly, apart from Riley still giving Jack the evil eye. However, Jack and Penny didn’t mind the teasing this time, after all, even if they didn’t confess yet, their feelings were mutual.
A while later, after dancing, talking and snacking, Jack pulled away from the buzz to get some fresh air on the balcony. He felt his heart take a leap when he saw Penny outside as well, her long hair flowing in the soft spring wind, taking in the quiet. He gently opened the door, trying not to startle her, though it seemed that he didn’t need to worry about that when she turned and noticed him, she must’ve sensed him coming outside.
“Need a break?” she asked.
“Yeah,” he said, going up to rest his arms on the stone rail, “I was also hoping to see you as well.”
“I guess it’s a win-win situation,” she gently nudged his shoulder with hers. He was glad that he was part of her inner circle of people she was comfortable touching. “So, Riley and Winter are finally married.”
“I’m surprised they didn’t do so sooner,” he reflected the first time Winter brought Riley home, how they would giggle and fawn over each other as Riley was introduced to Winter’s parents, “I felt like I was gonna go insane with how much they made goo-goo eyes at each other.”
“They still do that,” Penny replied, “And I think its gonna amplify now that they’re married.”
“Oh jeez,” he put a hand to his head, listening to Penny’s sweet giggle. He took in the situation at hand, they were on the balcony together talking and having fun with all the space they needed to talk about their feelings. Maybe this was his chance, “Although I will admit, I am a little jealous. It would be pretty nice to have someone to do all that sappy stuff with.”
“O-oh,” Penny was taken aback a little bit, the thought of he and her doing all sorts of couple things rushing through her mind. Wanting to spend all his time with her, holding her hand, whispering sweet nothings when no one was looking. “I wanna do that too, you know, with the right person.”
Jack fiddled with the cuffs on his sleeves, this was it, “And what is the ‘right person’ that you have in mind?”
Penny gulped, okay, now it was getting serious, no turning back. “Well, I’d like him to be funny, kind, respectful to his and my family. Someone who has my back no matter what. Someone who makes sure that I feel like I deserve to be here. Someone who…sees me.”
She said, oh she said it! Did this mean she felt the same, only one way to find out. “Is that so little lady?” he took in her blush and nod, “Well, I bet he’s very handsome, jaw-droppingly if you will.”
Penny’s blush faded as she let out a chortle, “Did I forget to mention he’s full of himself?”
Jack placed his hand dramatically on his chest, “Why Penny how rude! It’s takes guts for someone to admit when they’re good looking.”
“Guts? Or an ego that’s too big to fit his head?” she began to belly laugh at his frown, clutching her sides as she clutched her ribs.
“Oh? Well that’s too bad little lady, I was just about to describe my ‘right’ person,” he chuckled as she straightened back up, “But it you don’t wanna hear it-”
“Alright, you smug bastard,” she sighed fondly, “Tell me, what are they like?”
“Well, let’s see,” he tapped his chin in false thought, “She’s extremely talented, always puts her family first, has one of the cutest laughs in the world.” Taking a chance, he tucked a piece of her hair behind her skin, his skin tingling as he made contact with hers, “Insanely beautiful…who sees me too…and is very short.”
“I will bite you,” Penny snarled, but she held no threat in her tone.
Jack’s face softened, “And, I want to hold her, tell her how much I love her and be with her as long as she lets me.”
Penny’s shivered at his tone, if he were talking about her (and she really hoped he was) then she had to do this next part carefully, “And if you were with this girl right now, how would you tell her about how you feel?”
Jack gulped, time to take the plunge, “I would tell her that I’m not a perfect person, but I am someone who’s always trying. You’ve taken over my mind and have stolen my heart, but I can’t find it in myself to care as long as it’s in your hands.” He took her hands in his at those words, “I just hope that she feels the same way.”
Penny’s heart fluttered, squeezing his hand in return as a swell of joy rushed through her from head to toe, “She does! She really does!”
Jack exhaled sharply, he couldn’t believe it! She likes him back! She wanted to be with him! “I wanna kiss you so badly right now,” he clamped his mouth shut when he realised what came out his mouth. They just confessed and now he was admitting that he wanted to kiss her, and just when he thought he was being smooth.
“Okay,” Penny peered up at him through her lashes.
Jack gaped at her, “Pen, you don’t want to if you don’t want to.”
“Trust me,” she cupped his cheek, “I really want this.” Despite her initial shock, she oh so badly wanted to kiss him back. Ever since the Christmas fair she was unable to spot thinking about his lips on her forehead, or how they would feel on her lips. “Are you gonna keep gawking or do I need to make the first move?” she teased.
Both of his hands were suddenly cupping her cheeks, cutting her off. He gave her one more look, a silent request to do this. When she nodded, he immediately planted his lips on hers. She was so soft, so sweet, so amazing! God he loved her!
She returned the kiss with the same warmth he gave her, with one hand on his cheek she used the other to pull him in closer by the waist. His lips felt the same as they did on her forehead, but somehow so different on her lips. No one ever kissed her like this before, like she really mattered to them. But with Jack, his mouth matched his promise he told to her, and she never wanted him to stop.
They parted for a moment to catch their breaths, grinning as they rested their foreheads together. “So,” she took in another lungful of air, “Does this mean you like me back?”
He smirked, taking her chin between his thumb and finger, “You tell me little lady, or would you rather I show and not tell with another kiss.”
“The second option please,” she grinned back.
He was about to dive back into her lips when a gasp made them both freeze. By the doors, Amber stood with a glass of wine, she was probably out here to get some air as well. “I knew it!” she squealed, “I knew you were gonna confess tonight! Laura owes me ten bucks!”
“Mom!” Penny gasped, clutching herself closer to Jack to save herself from embarrassment.
“Don’t worry baby, I’ll keep this between you and me. Besides, this is something that you’ll want to tell Riley by yourself,” Amber added, making both Penny and Jack pale at the thought of her older sister finding out. “Like I said, I’ll keep this to myself. Oh and Penny? Make sure you use the makeup wipes I gave you before you go back inside, the corner of your lip is smudged.”
Penny all but squealed in mortification into Jack’s chest after her mother went back inside, the man stroking her back as he chuckled. “Well, she does have a point,” he mentioned, “We don’t want the first thing that Riley sees when we go back in is smudged lip gloss.”
“Don’t single yourself out mister,” she poked him in the chest, “You’re wearing it too.”
“Oh really? Is it a good colour on me?” He leant in closer.
Penny mumbled shyly under her breath, God she was just too cute. “Wanna say that again little lady?” he asked.
“I said, how about you kiss me again if you like my lip gloss so much,” she pouted, the blush on his face was worth it though.
Jack huffed a laugh and pulled her in closer, “Now that sweetie, can be arranged.”
And just like that, they dove back into another kiss, enjoying only themselves without anyone else to interrupt their moment. It was just them, the moon and the start of their new relationship. And they couldn’t wait to see what else was in store for them.
.
.
.
Jax stirred lightly, stiff from laying against the ground. He must’ve slid down the hedge and onto the plush grass in his sleep, oh well, the grass was comfier. He could feel his lips burn from where Penny kissed Jack, as though he were the one who kissed her. But that was impossible, wasn’t it? There was no way that actually happened.
He was about to move when he felt a light weight on his chest. Looking down, he saw Pomni curled up next to him, hugging his side as she snored softly while using his upper body as a pillow for her head. Why wasn’t he shoving her off or telling her to get lost? Why was he growing flustered by the second and praying that she couldn’t hear his quickening heart rate? He could feel his tail wagging underneath him, was he actually happy about this predicament? There was no way!
He felt her shift beside him, mumbling gibberish in her sleep before cuddling him closer. Cute…wait, no it’s not! Get yourself together Jax! But there wasn’t any denying it though, no matter how much he wanted to, yesterday’s revelation just proved to him that he felt some sort of attachment to the jester and it was driving him up the wall. Her hat had also slid of her head, revealing short yet soft looking locks. The way it framed her face ever so gently with its wisped strands, oh god she was killing him.
He let his temptation win, reaching his hand out to touch it when she suddenly woke up, barely processing what was happening until she saw that she was firmly cuddling into this side while he was reaching towards her. “You got a loose hair there, sweetie,” he tried to squash down the awkwardness, trying to bring up his charm to save himself.
It seemed that it didn’t work as she squealed and pulled away from him as though he burned her, he wasn’t gonna lie, it kind of stung a bit. “I’m so sorry! I didn’t even know that I was doing that!” she fumbled over her words, grabbing her hat and screaming into it.
“It’s fine,” he sighed, standing up and stretching. “We should keep going, make use of the time we have.”
Pomni looked up, still clutching her hat. She was glad that he wasn’t mad, but why wasn’t he? If it were anyone else she was shore he would have told them to get lost, why did he leave her be? Her dream from last night made this moment even more flustering for her, the memory of Jack kissing Penny with such passion was burned into the back of her mind and the minute she woke up she was cuddling into Jax! The universe had to be out to get her.
“Hey, you awake in there?” he pointed to her forehead, “I said we should keep going.”
“W-what?” oh right, they still had to get out of the maze. The long…long maze, “Yeah, I’m coming.”
It seemed that the awkward silence had carried over from last night during their trek through the winding paths, neither of them not knowing what to say and their dreams invading every single thought they had. But besides the kiss, Jax thought of the family that brought Jack into their home. They shared no blood but treated him as though he were their son, making sure he was fed, happy and safe despite the occasional teasing. His mind drifted to Laura, how she cared for each one of her children, with the care and love that a mother should, it made him think of…
He looked to Pomni, who also seemed to be deep in thought, he made sure that she wouldn’t bump into anything. He felt bad for snapping at her yesterday, and the words she said to him afterwards cut deep. It was the first time in so long that someone called him out in a way that hollowed him to his core, to just step back and really think. Maybe that was what he needed. “Do you remember yesterday when Caine mentioned I used to know someone?” he spoke up.
Pomni’s head snapped up to him, his voice drowning out the deafening silence they stewed in for quite some time. “Y-yeah, why?”
“Well, when I arrived,” he started, “I remember that I didn’t know anything about my past, I was stuck in a body I didn’t know and all I could remember feeling was regret and fear. I acted a lot like a wounded animal, just screaming at people to stay away. It worked on everyone…except for Queenie.”
Pomni gasped, she had heard of Queenie and seen her door crossed off. The unsaid implication of her abstraction was what chilled Pomni’s spine, no one had to say anything to know what happened to her, but she never realised Jack was close to her.
“Well, she was the only one who wasn’t really phased by me,” he continued, “She made sure that I wasn’t alone, told me the stuff to look out for and sometimes Kinger would join her with helping me out, it’s strange to think about, back then he was more sane than he is now. I won’t lie, there were times that I was a little sh77t, but I’m grateful that she was willing to help me out. It helped me feel less scared, and sometimes I wondered if I had a mother in my past life that was like Queenie. But soon, I started seeing less and less of Queenie, everyone was starting to get worried. Any time we would see her she was always talking about an exit. I was also looking for one as well, collecting keys hoping that one of them would lead to an exit. One day, I told her about and maybe she could use on of them so it could help her mission…the next day she abstracted. Kinger was never the same after that, I wasn’t really sure if those two were together or not, but it was obvious how strong their bond was. Ever since then he started rambling about his ‘insect collection,’ I don’t know if it was to distract him from the grief or if it was a factor of him going crazy. All I knew was if I didn’t give Queenie that key, she would still be here. If I didn’t try and escape, Kinger would still have his sanity left. It’s better that everyone hates me, all I am is this a%%hole rabbit who killed their oldest friend. It’s no wonder they hate me.”
“I don’t hate you,” Pomni said, making him turn to her, “That situation wasn’t your fault, it was just an awful place in time that no one could control. And I don’t think the others hate you too, I mean, did you even ask them?”
Jax sighed, “No, my mind just immediately believed that everyone hated me. Honestly, I wanted them to, it’ll make things a bit easier.”
“Yeah,” Pomni nodded, before paling at her word choice, “Not about everyone hating you, I meant about making things easier. Facing the bad stuff is scary, when I first got here I denied that this was real and that it was a dream. But at the end of it all, I had to accept that this was my reality, even if I didn’t like it. But I’m not gonna let it stop me from trying to leave, don’t let what happened to Queenie stop you from thinking that you deserve to be hated, you don’t. Maybe the others won’t forgive you immediately, but you can at least make a start.”
“We’ll see,” he gave her a soft grin, she was smiling back proudly. It was starting to get a bit too mushy now, so he pushed her hat over her eyes.
“Hey!” she squealed, she didn’t seem to mind that. She readjusted her hat and crossed her arms, “Really?”
“This is me we’re taking about. Besides, it was too easy Pom-pom,” he chuckled as she let out a groan.
“You’re not funny,” she walked up ahead, keeping the banter afloat as they continued to travel.
“No, I’m hilarious,” he retorted, “It’s not my fault you’re so uncultured short stack.”
She whipped back round at him with a pretend offended expression, “I’m not short!”
“Okay,” Jax snickered, “Come back to me about that were you grow 2 inches.”
She groaned dramatically, “You’re the worst!”
“True,” he picked her up as she let out a yip and placed her on his shoulders, “And I also have longer legs, I’ll get us to the exit faster.”
“Hey!” Pomni giggled, holding onto his head, “Put me down you giant!”
“But I need you to be my second pair of eyes short stack,” he patted her leg, “Just point out if you see anything and I’ll be your steering wheel.”
Despite the light teasing, she knew he was right, they would find the exit to the maze quicker if they worked like this, “Fine!...tall ass.”
“Say that again?” he quired.
“Nothing!” Pomni said.
Jax shrugged and continued walking. After a while, it seemed that the awkwardness had finally died down, leaving the two to engage in light conversations while searching for the exit. It was then they realised that they had forgotten about their dreams, not fully but they were so focused on one another, enjoying one another, they didn’t find the time to really think about them.
It still took them a bit of time, but eventually, to both of their relief and slight disappointment, they found the exit, the circus tent just down the path in front of them. Pomni jumped off Jax’s shoulders, there was no need for him to keep carrying down that they were back.
“I guess that marks the end of this adventure,” Pomni rubbed her arm, was she upset that this was over? Or was she upset that she couldn’t spend time with Jax anymore?
“Yeah, the end,” Jax nodded, as much as he didn’t want to be part of this little maze escapade, he’ll admit it, it was better with Pomni being here. In fact, he wouldn’t mind being around her more often. “You know, I’ve noticed that whenever you’re on your own, you’re either hyper focused on every single little thing to the point where it stresses you out of your in your own little world while dissociating. Sometimes you’re so in your head that you fail to notice when someone’s coming right at ya. Whether it be Caine with one of his adventures or one of the others fooling around.”
“That tends to happen a lot,” she confessed, “It’s either one or the either, there’s not an in between. It’s kinda a problem.”
“Well, I have a proposition for you,” he said, she perked up, “Until you feel like you understand this place a little more, I’ll be there to make you don’t have one of your episodes. Whether you’re spiralling or hyper focusing, I’ll be here to ground you in case that happens.”
“Really?” her eyes widened with joy at his offer, “You’d do that for me?”
“Just until you’re more aware of your surroundings,” he told her, “After all, I have a reputation to uphold.”
“Ah, right,” she gave him a joking grin, “We wouldn’t want anything to happen to that.”
“See, now you’re getting it,” he agreed, returning her grin.
The way he was leaning in, the way her heart sped up at their newly found teasing of each other, the way that the sense of déjà vu kept creeping in as though they had done this song and dance before. She ready did fall for him, didn’t she? She cleared her throat, “Well, good to know you’ve got my back, thank you again Jax. We should head in so no one’s worrying about us.”
“Works for me,” he nodded, his face suddenly becoming gentler, “And, you’re welcome.”
Don’t blush, don’t blush, don’t blush, don’t blush, don’t blush. “Race you inside!” she zoomed off, leaving the rabbit to laugh to himself.
“She sure is something else, huh?” he said to himself, his thoughts flooding with her again, he didn’t to anything to spot it, only letting it flow.
Pomni-Pomni-Pomni-Pomni-Pomni-Pen-
“Jax! You coming?” Pomni called out to him.
He blinked, what was that? What was his last thought about? He looked towards Pomni, suddenly forgetting that sudden glitch as he raced towards her, wanting to challenge the jester that captured his affections. “Are you sure sweetie?” he ran in her direction, “My longer legs might be more effective than yours short stack!”
“I’ll make you eat those words!” she snickered as he chased after her.
It was just a glitch.
Only a glitch.

“Listen to me.  . . take deep breaths, yes follow my breathing just like that. There’s no need to panic, I’m right here now, aren’t I? You’re safe.”
Like you’re having a panic attack from something and he’s trying to calm you down afterward
Yessssssssss!
RecomMilesxRecomReader
Panic Attack.
You held it together. You held it when you'd woken up 4 foot taller; you held it when you fought a banshee with your bare hands, hell you held it together when the boat sank!
You'd struggled through the ship, water rushing past as you dragged yourself up stairs. The boat pitching to the side as you gripped desperately to the railing.
Everyone was gone, you were alone and so close to the deck. The water hit you like a wall, knocking the air from your lungs as you tumbled back into the deck bellow. In a panic you turned, spying the surfaced through an opening in the metal. You kicked off the wall, dragging your self up to the surface.
Your lungs burned and your chest convulsed. You were desperate for air, the reflex to draw in becoming so hard to fight. You did it though, you broke the surface with a gasping breath. Lungs only burning fiercer with each pull and exhale.
Your body felt so heavy in the water. Each limb struggling to shift and paddle to keep you afloat. Still you swam, past the fire and spilled chemicals, till you felt your vision patching with darkness.
The sun was rising again, streams of light dancing on the waters surface. Your head kept dipping, slipping below the water. You were so close, the rocks 10 foot or less away. You could do it, you had to, no one was here to help.
That thought was what did it. The final straw that broke you. Your breaths became rapid, uneasy, wavering things. Barely pulling in enough air to coat your lungs.
You gripped the edge of the rocks, sharp edges cutting into you as you tried to pull up. Your arms quivered and you dropped, hanging loosely at the edge, head only just out of the water. The waves lapped up against your chin, threatening to spill up to cover you. Their pull trying to slip your body back and drag you to the sea bed.
Your breathing wouldn't let up, the screaming pain spreading across your tightening chest. It sung into your skull, compressing your brain in a searing hot squeeze. There was nothing beyond the pain and panic and you felt for all this world like you'd die.
That's were Miles saw you. His own body felt frail and pained as he struggled to stay seated on his banshee. He might've missed you, his thoughts tangled in the failures of the day. He saw you though, struggling against a rock and flew down. If he'd do one thing right today at least, he would save you.
He struggled down, calling out to you as he knelt to pull you up. You couldn't hear his words yet, brain fogged over. Still he used his strength to drag you up, turning to pull you up against him.
"I've got you, y/n." He lay exhausted, propped up by stone behind him with you laying on top. Your breathing didn't settle though, causing him to whip his head up. You were quaking, hyper ventilating. Miles own heart began pounding as he felt yours race beneath his arms.
"Listen to me y/n!" He tugged you up, sitting between his legs now with his arms wrapped around you. He tucked his head in the crook of your neck, taking deep slow breaths in your ear.
“Listen to me. . . take deep breaths, with me okay" He continued his hot breath in your ear, feeling your shaking breath attempt to follow.
"yes follow my breathing just like that. There’s no need to panic, I’m right here now, aren’t I? You’re safe.” He rocked you against him, rubbing soothing circles on your arms. Your body stilled in his arms gradually.
"Miles..." Your voice came out hoarse, feeling somehow weaker than before. You tried to move but your muscles just wouldn't obey.
"Shh, I got you, we're okay." Miles gripped you, pulling you in closer to his chest before standing with you. He cradled you against him as he returned to his banshee. He still had you, nothing was going to change that, he'd make damn sure of that.

Silas and Wren #4
Masterpost
Previous
Next
Warnings: past forced body mod
After a while, Wren felt a little more settled. He knew where each room was now, and the ‘new master’ jitters had mostly gone. In record time, too. Master Silas had a routine, and the predictableness soothed him.
There were a few things he hadn’t gotten used to yet. The bed was nice, but strange to sleep in. The first night he dragged the covers off and slept underneath instead. The second night, he toughed it out, tossing and turning. It just felt wrong to sleep on something softer than the floor. But it was growing on him.
Mornings were the best part of the day. He would roll out of bed (or crawl out from underneath) and instead of dreading the day, he made his own breakfast. So far berries and yogurt was his favorite, but he tried something different every morning.
He learned that Master Silas liked to sleep in late, whereas Wren got up around dawn. It was quiet and peaceful, and Wren liked it. Compared to the cramped noisiness of the market, it was paradise.
After Master got up, he ate for the day. Usually he drank from a preportioned blood pack. They came in fun varieties. Yesterday, he saw Silas sip from what looked like a juice box, straw and everything. Wren still smiled thinking about it. He wondered what package shape Master Silas had today.
“Wren,” called Master, “can I drink from you today?”
“Of course, Master.”
Master Silas led him into the drawing room. He sat on the couch and beckoned him to sit.
“I don’t think you’ll faint,” he said, “but this way you won’t fall if you do.” Obediently, Wren sat next to Silas.
“Here, let me just…” Master took his chin in hand, soft as a feather. He guided him to tilt his neck, just so.
Silas numbed the little patch of skin with one of his vampire kisses. It was just a brush of his lips, really, but Wren secretly liked to call them kisses.
Silas sank his fangs into his skin. There was a warm, tugging feel to it, and it was strange but not unpleasant. He drank in long, deep pulls, and Wren could feel the pulse of blood leaving him.
It only took a moment or two, and Silas was finished. He ‘kissed’ the tender part of Wren’s skin, closing the wound. He took a handkerchief out of his pocket, wiping off his neck.
“Thank you, Wren. How do you feel? Okay?”
“Yes, Master, I feel fine.”
He actually felt pretty good. It was nice to be thanked, and it was an easy job. It gave him a warm fuzzy feeling, and it wasn’t just the blood loss speaking.
“That’s great. Let me get you some water, just in case.”
After Master was finished with his breakfast- was it ‘breakfast’ if it was his only meal? Or did that make it more breakfast?- he got out a flat wooden box and a little cloth bag.
“You don’t have to, but would you like to have a game of mancala with me?”
“I’m not sure how, Master,” he said, apologetic.
“Well, that’s easily fixed.” Silas explained the rules to him while setting up the board. It seemed simple enough, and Wren liked the sound the little marbles made.
After the first game, he could feel Master Silas’s eyes on him. He looked up from the board.
“Is there something wrong, Master?”
“Sorry, it’s just… What is that? Under your shirt?” Wren looked down. He couldn’t see anything, aside from his- oh.
He flushed, heat rising in his face.
“They’re, um. My piercings.”
“You have nipple piercings?” He felt his face flush even more. He must look ridiculous.
“My- my previous Mistress liked the look, so she had them done.” Silas’s face screwed up in disgust.
“Take them out,” he ordered.
“Yes, Master.” He reached under his shirt, and began to unscrew the left one.
“Wait, I mean. You can keep them if you want to,” said Master, looking away. “Sorry.”
“I uh. I don’t really like them,” he explained. “So I don’t mind.”
“Oh.”
Wren carefully pulled out the bars. In truth, he hated them. He’d only left them because he’d been sold with them in. Slaves were sold "as is".
If he had a choice, he might like an earring, but that was up to Silas.
“What do you want me to do with the metal, Master?”
“Here,” said Master, holding out his hand. “I’ll get rid of them.” Good. He’d never have to see those awful things again.
But when he dropped the pieces in Master Silas’s palm, he hissed and jerked away, the bars sent flying.
“Are those silver?” said Master, shaking his palm.
“I- I’m sorry!” said Wren, lunging for the jewelry as it rolled away. He scooped up the pieces. “I didn’t know, I swear!”
“It’s fine,” growled Master, blowing air on his hand. There was a red spot in the center, like he’d scalded himself with hot water. Silas glanced towards Wren, and he couldn’t stop himself from trembling.
“Really,” he said, his voice calmer, “I’m fine. Not your fault.”
Wren let out a shaky breath. Silas had said it himself, it wasn’t his fault.
Master got out his handkerchief. He used the cloth to pluck the body jewelry from Wren. He got up, and grabbed an envelope from the desk in the corner. He shook the silver into the envelope, and sealed it.
“There,” he said. “No harm done. I’ll dispose of it later.”
Silas sat back down.
“I don’t suppose you remember whose turn it was?” he asked, as casual as anything. Wren felt his heartbeat settle a bit.
“Um, yours? I think?”
Master picked up the marbles with his left instead of his right. Guilt swirled in Wren’s gut. He never would have given Silas his piercings if he had known.
Master Silas glanced up at him. “It’s really okay. It’ll be gone by tomorrow,” he reassured him, voice soft.
Well, as long as Master wasn’t too bothered, he supposed it was alright. At least he wasn’t being punished.

~Toji always enjoyed making your life hell...didn't he? Sometimes you wondered how much longer your sanity could handle it. The love you used to feel for him was getting harder to hold onto each day.~
Tumblr media
Monday, 4:47 AM "Morning, princess." Toji's voice disturbed you from your sleep, and for a moment, you tried to keep your eyes closed. Tried to will yourself back to sleep. Tried to give yourself a bit more time before facing reality again.
Swallowing hard, you let your eyes open slowly, looking into the face of your fiancé. "Morning.” "I'm sorry about the last couple of days. You know I never mean to let things get so out of hand, right?" He cooed softly while rubbing the side of your face.
You weakly nodded in return. Just glad he wasn’t so pissed off anymore. "What time is it?" You murmured, looking at him as you rubbed your eyes. "Almost 5." "Shit, I have to go." You groaned while moving from him quickly. The morning train started running at 5:30 am, and you didn't want to miss it. "So, you're just getting up and leaving?" "Toji, I have to go to work. I have to catch the train on time." You stressed while rummaging through the closet quickly. It was only then you realized how bare and empty your wardrobe was regarding professional attire. You had three different really nice outfits, two of which Sukuna already seen. Not that you cared about this before, but that was when you worked for a smaller company with a boss who wasn't that great anyway, so not like he ever noticed your repeating outfits throughout the week. Today would be a new outfit, but tomorrow you'd be in one of the outfits that Sukuna had already seen and you couldn't explain the embarrassment you felt over it. It seemed so trivial, but you worried about what he might think. You wanted him to see you look nice, to see you pretty in a different outfit all the time. You wanted to impress him. Fuck, but why did you need to do that? What was the point? Not like it was going to make a difference.
"Well, you shouldn't have picked a job so far away. Before, you didn't need to leave so early." Toji snorted while stretching out in bed. That niceness of his from the other night was clearly already fading. "It was the only place that was hiring, and one that was paying a lot more. I had no choice." "Sure it's not just some club where you're whoring yourself out?" You wanted to scoff, to throw down your clothes in aggravation, but you just kept it to yourself. Glancing up at the mirror on the closet door, you could see the faint bruises along your face that reminded you of why it was always better to keep your mouth shut.
He could seem so genuinely sorry in some moments, and in others, he proved he had little care for you.
"I doubt I'd get much money even if that were the case." You laughed jokingly, just wanting to lighten the mood and not let it be so tense and awkward. "Nah, you'd fetch a fair price, trust me." He said through a shit-eating grin, and it made your skin prick with goosebumps. "Come on, don't say stuff like that." You frowned, feeling disturbed by the very thought of such things.
As usual, you made sure to have some sort of breakfast ready for Toji before you left. Not that you got to have much of it. You didn't have time to eat a lot. By the time you left, Toji already plopped himself down on the couch in the living room, getting to do whatever he wanted throughout the day as usual. He said he worked on occasion, but you couldn't believe it. He obviously never had any money, and he refused to tell you what he did for work. Sometimes he'd disappear for days at a time, saying he was at work. But you weren't that stupid. He never brought any money home, and still continued to use all of yours. If he was getting money from some job, he was definitely keeping it a secret so you couldn't partake in any of it.  Not that you'd be surprised.
Settling into your seat on the train, you tried to stay out of view from others, not wanting curious and nosy eyes peering at the marks you were given.
Your face was still so sore from when he slapped you a few times, and putting makeup on was difficult. But, unfortunately, covering your bruises was easy. Sadly enough, the concealers in your makeup bag worked their magic every time. It didn't take long until you had a fresh face that was full of vigor and proper color—like nothing ever happened.
Monday, 7:38 AM
Arriving in Roppongi felt like you entered a completely new atmosphere. There was a huge hustle and bustle of everyone trying to get to where they needed to be during their morning commutes, but still, there was an odd serenity to it. It was far from home, far from Toji and his abusive actions.  And very close to the man you craved to see again.
Taking in the beauty of the office building you just entered, you smiled with excitement. You had seen the pictures online when applying, but in person, the scene took your breath away. There was an atrium right in the entrance, blocked off by glass paneling to keep people from cutting through it. The skylight above let in a ton of natural light. The gorgeous and well-kept Japanese maple tree in the middle stretched out pridefully while small ferns and an array of stones lined the ground beneath it. The ceiling was high, and tasteful metal art pieces were hung from it, seeming to span out the length of the room. Around the atrium was where the reception desk was, and it was a space of luxury as well. The wall behind the desk had water flowing down small ridges that lined the wall, creating a delicate and gentle-sounding waterfall.
You were greeted with a lovely, dark-haired woman, Mai. Her smile was soft yet lively, and once you gave her your name, she wasted no time getting you set up. You were given your badge and ID, which would be needed to enter most spaces in the building, including Sukuna's personal office. She directed you to sit off to the side until someone came to get you, and they would take you on a small tour before leading you up the few floors to where you'd be stationed mostly. Of course, you weren't expecting such a handsome yet stern man to greet you. "You must be y/n." He said to you as you stood and offered a small bow while acknowledging him. "My name is Kento, Nanami. Please, follow me." Nanami took you through the main floors, explaining where everything was in brief detail and you kept a mental note since he didn't seem like the type who liked to repeat himself. There was a gentleness to him, yet a no-nonsense attitude at the same time. Riding the elevator up with him to the executive suite, you let out a heavy breath, trying to clear your nerves. It was just like any office job. Except this office was more upscale and was run by the man who gave you one of the best and most indecent weekends of your life. "Nervous?" "Yes, a bit." You offered a sheepish laugh while looking at him for a moment. "I just want to do well, and prove my worth." There were some things Nanami could have mentioned that he already heard from his boss about you, but they definitely weren't appropriate. "Just be honest and hardworking, Sukuna doesn't demand the impossible. At least, not often." It was almost like a chuckle should have followed his words but he refrained and stopped at an office door down the hall from the elevator. "This is your office, and Sukuna will mostly come through here to access his. There is another door to his office around the corner, but no one should be going to it. That's for his own personal use when he needs to leave without being bothered. I expect you know the basics of being the assistant and more or less the gatekeeper to his personal time." You nodded to confirm what he was saying and he tapped to the small card reader next to the door. "You'll hold your badge to it, and once the light turns green, the door will unlock. It automatically locks once it closes again, so don't forget your badge inside your office. We have keys, but it's a pain in the ass to come to unlock someone's door just because they're forgetful." "I understand." You smiled at him while placing your badge on the reader. Once it clicked the lock, you pushed the door open slowly, peeking into the semi-dark space. "I'll leave you to it, Sukuna will arrive shortly and he'll go over more with you of course. It's a pleasure to have you on our team." The two of you exchanged a small polite bow to one another before parting ways. As you entered your new office, you let out a sigh of relief to see it was spacious and fit for your job. It wasn't decorated too much, other than a few things here and there, and you hoped that meant you could personalize it to what you like. The door to Sukuna's office was glass and on the other side of the room. The thought of being so close to him like this gave you unexplainable chills. It was still dark on the other side of the door, and it flattened your hopes of seeing into the room. While getting familiar with your own space, you couldn't help but worry about how Sukuna would treat you here at work. A multitude of scenarios played out in your head. Would he completely ignore anything that happened, and treat you as just another employee? Or would he show you favoritism? You wouldn't want anyone to assume you're sleeping with the boss just to get what you want. Well, you wanted the attention, but it had nothing to do with the job itself. Looking out the large windows while mentally preparing for the day, the sound of your office door opening made you turn quickly, nearly startled by the unexpected visitor.
When you laid eyes on that gorgeous man, your lip quivered in both excitement and peril.
"Morning, pretty thing." Oh, his voice. It was so grounding and calming. You wanted so badly to just go into his arms and have him hold you, tell you everything is okay, and squeeze any stress and pain out of your heart. But, you remained professional, just relieved that he still used the pet name. "M-Morning, Sir." "Still so shy of me?" He grinned while walking through your office to the glass door leading to his. You fidgeted slightly with a timid smile while following him, just so eager to be in his presence again. He opened the door and stepped to the side, gesturing for you to enter first.
For the next hour or so, he went over some brief details about the programs you'll be using, what timelines are expected of you, and any other thing that was important to know immediately. Hearing him talk with such professionalism was almost just as big a turn-on as his charming demeanor. He was very clear in his expectations of your job, and the assertiveness in his voice sent chills through your body. Just because the two of you had spent a great night together, his demands for the job were heavily separated from that, and a good fuck wouldn't excuse you from being an exemplary worker.

Sukunas POV~
It was a treat to be around her again, and to see that she was mostly the same woman at the office as she was outside of it; polite and shy. He couldn't explain why that drew him to her, other than she was such a contrast to most women in his life. She displayed confidence, yet she had reservations. As if it could easily be broken down under certain circumstances. Circumstances she shouldn't have to be in. She was eager to learn and to learn properly, and that was a breath of fresh air to him. Obviously, he preferred a woman to be his assistant, but most of them were too busy trying to be appealing enough. It was entertaining, and he wouldn't deny the enjoyment of fucking in his office from time to time, but, his company was always at the front of his mind. Its problems came first, as well as anything else involving it. Trying to have a serious work-related discussion with an assistant who couldn't stop trying to fool around with him became aggravating one too many times.
The stack of papers left on his desk from Nanami were a perfect place to start for her. He needed to get an understanding of what she knew, and what her skill set was. Her resume was impressive, so he knew there was more to her than the quiet and shy front. And luckily, she didn't disappoint. He sat back and watched as she got to work, skimming through the memos and printed meeting logs along with any spreadsheets that needed editing or clarification. She divided things based on importance, and even jotted down notes for what his schedule might include for the day. It was interesting to him, to see how focused she became. She asked him questions about any unknowns, and confirmed what is most important for him in his daily schedule. A couple differences here and there, but only cause Sukuna did things his own way just like any CEO would.
Anything he didn't care for or didn't want to be included in his own personal workload for the day became an issue for her instead. Anything he didn't have time for, was now something she would need to handle. Certainly, he wouldn't just let her loose quite yet. But he had confidence she wouldn't need that long to begin doing most of the work on her own. She was eager to please, but he couldn't figure out if that would be a weakness of hers or not. It was clear that her fiancé, or whatever he was, was a complete piece of shit. Lucky for him, that meant he got to play around with her more.

Your POV~
"Okay, this isn't something I'm sure about. Would this be more for me to handle, or would you prefer to have it in your own workload?" You questioned while reading over some printed-out emails from another company he did business with.
He glanced across his desk briefly to see what you were referring to, but opted to just stand up and look at it from your side. Feeling the warmth from his body come over you from behind, your whole frame tensed as arms came down on both sides of you. His palms rested on the desk while leaning over you so closely you could feel his chest against your back and you shuddered slightly as he remained in this stance, looking over what you had pointed out.
"Well, do you have any experience in this?" "Yes, I just never dealt with it too often at my other job. It was a smaller company, and my previous boss preferred to handle it on his own. But, you already have a lot to do, so I wanted to know what you would choose instead." "We'll figure that out when the time comes." He said while leaning his face down towards you.
Soft yet hungry lips brush across your shoulder towards the top of your clavicle, causing your breath to seize up in your throat at the abrupt action.
"Sukuna..!" a stunned whisper left your lips, now feeling his right hand sliding down the side of your body, his fingertips dipping into the curve of your waist and palm smoothing over your seated hip. "You want me to stop?" he asked quietly, lips now against your ear but his question was honest and you let out a small moan as goosebumps pricked over the back of your neck. Of course you didn't want him to stop. Fuck, please don't stop.
It didn't take long for Sukuna to have you completely melting at his touch, your head leaning back against his firm body as his lips sucked onto your skin, trailing wet kisses from the base of your neck to up behind your ear, the sensations shooting right down to your core as you wanted him again so badly. Wanted his hands all over you, wanted his scent filling your nose, wanted to please him and be something he yearned for. Just wanted to be something that someone yearned for.
But, you couldn't. This was wrong. You were here to work, not be the cliché slutty assistant to the boss. Placing your hand over your face in shame, you leaned away from him, slightly shaking your head. "I'm sorry, I can't, I can't do this. I'm not that type of woman." Sukuna turned your chair around abruptly to face him and before you could react, he had both hands pushed down onto the armrests, caging you into the chair below his demanding form. "What type of woman are you talking about?" He asked with curiosity, face coming down near yours and damn, you already started to whine in your throat for him. "The type who just messes around with the boss. I don't want to be seen as the office slut. And, and I shouldn't be cheating on my fiancé.” "That's not anyone's business but ours. Besides, you seemed to enjoy yourself the other night, didn't you? Cumming over and over cause it felt so good. You can pretend to love your fiancé all you want, but still come to me for this good dick." He smirked while leaning his mouth to your ear and you trembled with a shaky breath. "You're not being very professional right now." You laughed nervously, playfully pushing against his chest to get some distance between the two of you before you lost all control. He leaned back as you moved him while running a hand through his hair. "Doesn't seem like it bothers you." He stated while undoing his cuff links and collar. You looked up to him as he adjusted his sleeves, rolling them up as if preparing to do some task. "Sir?" The only response you got was a smirk and his hand gesturing you to stand. Of course, you did so without hesitation and he came forward, pulling the chair from behind you while spinning you around. Your false protests were cut short as he pushed you against the desk. You couldn't find your voice as he slowly knelt down behind you, reaching his hands up under your skirt to hook his fingers around the edges of your panties. As the lacy cloth was pulled down your legs slowly, Sukunas lips trailed down along with them, kissing your thighs down to your calves. While kissing your left leg, he lifted your right foot to step out of your underwear and then did the same on the other. "For someone who is trying to be a good girl for their fiancé, you're wearing some tempting undergarments while being in the office." "I didn't even notice.” You whimpered through a lie as his lips traveled to the inside of your thighs, delicate kisses making you tremble. He stood back up and you glanced back at him with a flushed face of embarrassment. "I'll hold onto these for a bit." When he gently stuffed it into his shirt pocket, you turned around, starting to demand he give them back but he caught your chin in his firm grip, halting you in an instant. "We only have about twenty minutes before the first meeting, so we shouldn't waste time." His voice was so smooth yet demanding, and you let him maneuver your body back around to be bent over the desk.
Hearing his belt start to come undone, your breath caught in your throat and you stammered at his actions which only made him chuckle and his grin widen. One of his hands pushed onto your shoulder, gently pinning you down against his desk, and the other hand snuck up underneath your skirt, fingertips gliding along your excited thigh til they could reach your heat.
"Oh, you've no idea." he began to say before a cocky laugh quietly left his throat as you tried to remain silent while quivering anxiously in desire to his touches.
"You have no idea what I've thought about doing to you all weekend." his voice fanned over the back of your ear as his fingers slowly slid between your lips and you felt so shy at how wet you already were. Letting the hand that was on your shoulder quickly slide around your neck and up to your mouth, his palm clasped over it tightly to keep you quiet while he pulled his hardened cock from his pants, the bend of his length landing atop of your ass with a soft smacking sound and your fingernails nearly dug into the desk with anticipation. Part of you wanted to move his hand away because of the soreness you still felt on your face, but you didn't want to bring attention to it. Not like ignoring the pain from Toji was foreign to you. Lying about bruises and marks had become second nature at this point.  Besides, you didn't want Sukuna to stop. Didn't want him to let you go or question what was wrong.
"It's amusing how you pretend you're too ashamed for this, yet you're so fucking wet already." His other hand now moved under your thigh quickly, lifting it up to where your leg was on the desk, spreading you beautifully open for him as he brought his hand back to your fluttering pussy, dipping two of his fingers inside without hesitation, curling them up towards your back and your shriek was muffled by the hand still tightly positioned over your mouth. "Shhh..." Sukuna hushed you with a chuckle, deepening his fingers to the knuckles as he reached for that beautiful sweet spot inside he had been yearning to satisfy again.
Heavy exhales came out loudly from your nose and your eyes were already starting to roll back as he finger fucked your pussy so roughly, blessing your gummy walls with his touch, sending your mind into a spiral of pleasure.
His lips found your neck again, nipping at the base of it as he slowly pulled his fingers out, earning a desperate whine from your throat at the loss of contact. He pumped your slick all over his cock, making it twitch in his hand before slipping in so easily that it made you feel guilty. The hand around your mouth pulled away as you concealed your desperate moans on your own, and he rolled up the fabric of your skirt, letting it rest at your lower back to fully expose what he wanted.
Biting onto your bottom lip so hard it almost hurt, you did your best to suppress any erotic moans that begged to burst from your lips, missing this feeling so much. Not just the amazing sex you were new to, but just him touching you in general. Just being in his presence relaxed you in such a way you had never felt before. His large hands made themselves comfortable at the small of your back, fingers lightly pushing into your skin to hold you in place as he slowly drove his cock deeper to the hilt, forcing your breath out again as it did the other night.
"Wait, fuck-!" You whimpered and writhed, moving your hand back to push against his thigh as he bottomed out. Your leg was already trembling at how full he made you, the pressure swelling within you. You still remembered the ache from the last time he fucked you, and you couldn't deny it hurt. But it hurt so damn good.
Letting out a deep exhale, he paused for a moment, the feeling of your sopping heat gripping him so tightly he could hardly think straight. Something he had no idea he would miss so much. Your glossy eyes searched back for his as you craned your neck to see him and he grinned in mirth at how your face was already so tense with pleasure. So beautiful he thought, enjoying your eager yet nervous gaze looking at him, not ever having the same desire to look at another woman in such a way in these moments. "I'll be patient, sweetheart." He reminded, letting his palms rub over your skin so gently. Despite him being so rough, you still felt like he'd completely stop at any moment if you wanted him to. But you were so afraid, so afraid that if you did ask him to stop again, he'd no longer have interest in you. And you needed this in a way you could never explain.
"Do me a favor, doll." he spoke quietly, allowing your walls the moment they needed to accept his thick length and you immediately nodded, willing to do anything he asked of you at this point. Leaning over your body more, his face came close to yours and he stole a quick kiss from your cheek before letting his mouth glide over your ear, his hot breath making you shudder through his whisper. "Please, make a fucking mess all over my desk."
By the time the words even registered in your head, he pulled his hips back and then shoved his cock all the way back inside of your desperate cunt, forcing a howl of painful pleasure from your lips which he immediately silenced, his large hand clasping itself firmly over your mouth again. Your muffled wails made him growl into your ear, and he bit onto the lobe, nipping as he reached his unforgiving pace, already hammering into you without reserve. With his hand around your mouth, he held your face and pulled your head back towards his, curving your back as his other hand stayed firm on your waist, allowing him to fuck himself deeply into you. The palms of your hands stayed flat on the desk to keep yourself lifted up as he positioned you, and incoherent cries slipped through his fingers over your mouth while his cocky laugh into your ear made your whole body already start to convulse without control. "Come on doll, cum for me, I know you won't last long." His rude and lust-filled voice commanded into your ear as he felt your walls start to grip him without reserve. But you inhaled deeply, struggling to hold off for a moment, unable to believe you were already about to fall apart. Shaking your head, you mentally begged to wait a bit, just wanting this to last.
He held you tightly as you stiffened in his grasp, sobbing breaths through his fingers and your eyes tightly screwed shut, the shocks of ecstasy shooting through you repeatedly.
Not allowing a moment for you to settle, he thrusted harder and you whined harshly in your throat, feeling your release smear all over his desk below, just as he was wanting you to do. Fuck, he was incredible at what he could do and how he could make you feel, and so quickly with little effort.
With your head tilted to the side, your eyes could make out the pleased expression on his face, and that alone made you want to cum all over his deliciously fat cock again.
"That's a good girl." His praise enveloped you in warmth and you whined desperately for him. Your leg struggled to stay propped up on the desk as it was shaking from overstimulation and it made your lover groan deeply into your neck, his own pants of gratification driving you fucking wild. Knowing that something as useless as yourself was making someone amazing like him enjoy what little you could offer was such an intense high.
He brought an arm around your chest, tightening underneath your breasts as he stepped back and stood your body upright, moving his other hand up under your struggling leg to keep it propped as he fucked your sloppy pussy and you cried silently, trying to not scream his name or release lewd moans as surely someone outside the offices and down the hall would hear. "Give me another," he demanded, growling into your neck, starting to chase his own high, knowing you would come undone again soon. Throwing your hand over your mouth as you couldn't stop your screams of ecstasy, you felt your walls constrict tightly around his cock as he maintained his bruising pace, every swollen groove inside of your cunt being filled with his girth and warm tears rolled down your cheeks as you came all over him again, your chest heaving as you continued to scream into your own hand, riding out your intense high.
Sukuna's cheek pressed against yours as he grunted with a faltering thrust, his cock throbbing deep within you as he filled you to the brim with his abundant ropes of hot cum and you cried out in ecstasy, his own hand now coming over your mouth to help quiet the loud sounds you couldn't stop from letting out.
Panting heavily, you pressed your cheek more against his, feeling that connection that only he had been able to make you feel. It was pain, it was pleasure, and it was complete depression yet happiness all at once.
Tumblr media
"Fuck." He growled while swallowing hard, catching his breath before kissing on your neck softly, lips enveloping the area of skin where your heartbeat was hastily thrumming through. His hand that was under your thigh slowly let your trembling leg down so you could stand on your own two feet again and then he rested his warm palm and fingers along your waist. His hand that was over your mouth moved to your belly, holding you in place against him, and you whimpered softly, placing your hand over his as you were still enjoying your high, and his gentle touches and embrace were causing your mind to bombard you with emotions you didn't want to deal with. For a moment the two of you remained still, having not parted yet, Sukuna still buried deep within you and those pulsing throbs were still ever present.
He was never a man who could easily find joy in a single, repetitive sexual partner. Usually, it was boring after a few times, every woman eventually blurring into the same as the one before. They were often snotty and pretentious but were cheap and easy to get into bed. Unfortunately, they were just generic sluts spreading their legs without much convincing. Quick and easy fucks, but it got monotonous and tiresome. He certainly wasn't looking for anything romantic or heartfelt. But, someone who wasn't completely mindless or shallow was preferred. It was obvious you were already collapsing boundaries he set up, boundaries to keep women from trying to advance in his life as they were only there for his money, status, and the satisfaction he could give them in bed. He preferred to avoid any emotional connections and didn't want anyone else becoming attached to him in return, but with you, he couldn't help but struggle with that idea now. He couldn't recall the number of times he'd carelessly shoved a woman down over his desk, not even remembering her name or face as he flipped their skirts or dresses up, burying himself deeply within them to get what gratification he could. Many temporary assistants would come in here and straddle him in his chair, begging for some raise or a better opportunity in the company. He'd enjoy himself when they pulled out his cock and ride him in the chair, but he never honestly cared for any of them. They never stayed employed for long, as they usually failed miserably at the job. Gorgeous bodies, but no common sense. He certainly enjoyed fucking, but he still had a business to manage.
Monday, 10 AM
Sitting off to the far side of the long table in the conference room where Sukuna was about to have the first meeting of his day, you let out a deep shaky breath, nervous as can be.
Your fingers were gripping the hem of your skirt while you sat and waited for the actual meeting to start once the greetings and such were over, ready to start taking notes of important things being said per Sukuna's instructions. He had briefly walked you through main points you'd need to pay attention to, things to ask or how to handle confrontation/disagreements. Eventually, most of these meetings would be your responsibility as they weren't as imperative like the larger ones Sukuna needed more time for.
Throughout the casual conversation Sukuna was having with the others, he'd briefly look in your direction, a very subtle smirk with every glance and your eyes were soft as a doe in return, feeling as if your heart was dancing around in your chest. The intensity of his gaze onto you even while holding a conversation with several others made you so embarrassed and shy, knowing that even when you nervously looked away, those gorgeous eyes remained on you. He also still kept your underwear hostage in his pocket; his reminder being a subtle pat over the area every once in a while when he caught your gaze.
It wasn't too much longer until the meeting had started, and Sukuna introduced you to the few others in the room, you being the only woman of course, as most businesses were run by men, but you didn't let it bother you. With Sukuna at the other end of the table, you felt secure and confident when you stood and gave a polite bow, and you were surprised by the same level of curtesy you received in return from these posh businessmen.
Eventually, the one meeting turned into another, and another, and by the end of the fourth one, Sukuna seemed relieved there wouldn't be anymore for almost two hours.
Sitting idly at the other end of the table, going over your notes as Sukuna let out the last person from the room, he gave an annoyed sigh, dropping himself back into his chair to relax for a moment. "Normally they don't take that long." He said quietly, glancing over to you as you scribbled down some other things you suddenly remembered that could be important to know. "It didn't seem too terribly bad." You smiled up to him as you set your pen down, finishing your notes in the moment. "But it did help, I think I got a lot just out of these first few meetings. They seem pretty straightforward."
"That's good, and well, we have about two hours til the next meeting, let's go get some lunch." The chuckle from his throat quieted down as he looked at his watch then back up to you for confirmation, but a frown formed between his brows at your sudden downward gaze. Of course, lunch sounded amazing but, you couldn't spare a single coin for anything other than your train tickets for this week and the next. Already you were plagued with the thought of your deadline next week... ¥1,000,000? Your paycheck wouldn't even come close...And your parents had yet to return your call. Would you actually be sent to jail for failure to pay? Its not something you wanted to necessarily gamble over. And how were you to tell Sukuna about it? 'Sorry sir, I know you just hired me but I have to go to jail now because my fiancé keeps taking out credit cards and loans under my name and I don't know what to do about it.' What a wonderful conversation piece that would be.
"Y/N...what's wrong?"
His question startled you as you realized he was in front of you now, much closer than before, and even though this was the same man that fucked you over his desk this morning in a demanding and ravenous way, his expression was so gentle and full of concern for you.
"Uh, nothing is wrong." You smiled widely through your lie, putting on that convincing façade of cheerfulness to hide your agonized thoughts. "And I'm okay, I don't need anything for lunch, I am just going to-"
"It wasn't a suggestion." The sudden authority of his voice made your head snap up to look at him as he stared down to you with an expression that wasn't hiding his honesty at all. "Sukuna, but I don't...I don't have the-"
"...Money?"
Immediately your head dropped at his answer even though it was the most logical one for him to say. You already felt too overvalued from the other night when he took you out on that date, but that was a more proper setting for him to want to spoil you. Having a lunch break at work wasn't something he needed to spend money on you for. "I have no concern over money. Come on," his hand now reaching down to you. Looking at his hand, the one that made you feel so amazing the other night and this morning, the one that caressed your skin so gently, that cupped your cheek so softly, now presented to you again, made you want to simultaneously cry and smile. Swallowing tightly, trying to fight off that burning feeling in your throat, you hesitantly reached out to his hand, letting him pull you up from the chair and he gave a charming smile while gently touching the underside of your chin with his other index finger. "What else is looming in that head of yours? Nervous from your first day?"
Accepting that as a decent excuse to your mood, you gave a desperate laugh and nodded. "Yeah, just not completely confident in anything yet so, makes me nervous, but I think I'll get the hang of the meetings really easily. Its similar to ones I used to assist on in my old office." You lied, not about your job skill, but about what was really on your mind. It was so difficult to feel sad though when his attention on you.
Monday, 12:48 PM
Despite you trying to deny his offer for buying you lunch again, Sukuna just ignored it and walked with you down the sidewalk towards a small strip of cafes, obviously where a lot of people from other businesses go for lunch. Even on his break, Sukuna was checking emails on his phone, listening to voicemails from when he had his phone turned off in the meetings, and you smiled in subtle admiration while looking up to him as the two of you neared some places to eat. He didn't even have to look up as he walked, as if he had done this so many times, this path memorized easily.
He led you inside a delicious smelling café, and it was fairly full of several other business men and women, all enjoying time out of the office as they chatted about anything other than work. Just like the date the other night, you stared at the prices in shock, not even able to comprehend how any of this was affordable to anyone...but of course, this was nothing but pocket change to nearly everyone in this city... Sukuna had asked what things you enjoy eating and you gave a brief list to which he used to pick something out for you, knowing you would try to pick the cheapest thing even if you didn't like it. Biting your lip as he ordered for you, he glanced back down to you to ask what drink you'd like and you told him quietly, feeling as if you were a shy child who was too afraid to speak to the worker directly for your order.
After putting his phone away and paying for the order, he took a small number tag for when the order would be called out, and that large hand came to your waist again gently, just like in the restaurant, guiding you along side him to find a seat.
He occasionally checked his phone even after the food was ready, and he ate while simultaneously still conducting business on his phone, but also finding moments in between all of that to look up while holding a conversation with you. It wasn't the type of look and attention that seemed forced and only out of courtesy, but he looked at you as if you were just as important, if not more, than his food or work. "Need anything else?" He questioned as you had finished your food some time ago, having eaten it quickly as you had been quite hungry today, not really getting much to eat over the weekend while back at home with Touji. Trying to convince him with a shake of your head, he cocked a brow up at your stubbornness and took out his wallet, passing his credit card over to you. "Get something else, and get another coffee to go for me."
Staring at the platinum level, black credit card in your hand as you stood up in the small line at the counter again, you felt so terrified, holding onto it tightly with both hands, as if it was going to be snatched from you. Quietly asking for another small meal and the coffee for Sukuna, the total was rang up and the worker gestured to the terminal. Your shaky hand swiped the card through the terminal, preparing for it to say declined. Not having any money usable in your own bank account for so long, you weren't able to use your own cards. They always said declined as Toji had drained your account per usual and you'd always be left embarrassed, standing dumbfounded in the line at the store with a cart of groceries or other items you'd need at home but no money in your bank. When the terminal flashed the approved icon you released a breath you didn't even realize you were holding. The worker told you to just wait at the counter as it would only be a quick moment to get your order to you and you briefly glanced at Sukuna, only to get flustered as he had his cheek resting against his knuckles, watching you with a humored smile.
He was able to see the subtle excitement and relief on your face after you had swiped the card as if you weren't expecting it to work. But, it did work, and the joyous expression that came across your face brought him a feeling of elation...and he knew he wasn't going to be able to keep the need for that satisfaction out of his mind.
Monday, 5:00 PM
After saying farewell to a small group of new coworkers you had met that you'd be working closely with as well, you took a little notebook and looked around your office, jotting down some items you could benefit from having. Not that you could afford them at the moment, but hopefully when you got your first check, you'd be able to sneak some money out of the account before Toji got ahold of it all on his own. Though, the ever looming fear of possibly going to jail next week due to lack of payment tried to weigh heavily on your mind. You tried to simply forget it was even an issue, not wanting to accept that this was coming to an end for you before it even got to start.
If by some miracle you didn't have to go to jail, and you did really well at this job, you would definitely be able to pay off your debts, and maybe you could move out here, to get away from Toji for good. Wiping a couple of stray tears from the corner of your eyes as you stood at the windows of your office, you knew that was a fantasy that could never come to completion. Even if you could be financially secure once more, Toji wouldn't just let you go. He'd hunt you down, and drag you back home, just as he did every time... Feeling your phone buzz in your pocket again, you sniffled and tilted your head back, letting out a slight groan of irritation, knowing it was Toji harassing you again. Just as you were thinking of the bastard... Preparing for hateful words and ignorant things for him to tell you, you were surprised when his message came through saying,
-"I wont be home tonight. Actually I'll probably be out for a couple days. I have work to do. This damn place better be clean when I get home, and actually do a good job for once if you can even comprehend what that means."-
You briefly imagined the type of hell that would befall you if you ever nonchalantly sent a text to Toji saying you wouldn't be home for a couple of days. This was just another thing he did often, completely disappear for several days. It was the only time you were actually able to regain some of your sanity though, a couple days of peace so you could recover your strength both physically and mentally.  It gave you the opportunity of enjoying a bit of freedom without interruption. When he was tired of not having a punching bag, that's when he'd come back home.
Relief did wash over you though, knowing that tonight would be peaceful, and hopefully a few more nights as well.
"So, pretty thing, think you'll do fine here?"
That low, velvety voice from behind you plucked your fragile mind from its worries and thoughts, and you turned your head enough to see Sukuna in the doorway of your office, holding his suit jacket with just his index finger as it was draped over his shoulder. "I..I think this is a perfect fit for me. Its what I'm decent at doing, its what I like to do, and this office is incredible." You laughed while gesturing to the wide space, your eyes going back to his and you smiled shyly as he chuckled to your response.
"Do you think its better than my office?" Those pearly canines peered through his cocky grin and you're not sure what possessed you to return the same grin while putting your hands on your hips and facing him. "Sir, the only place better than your office, is your bedroom." As the words fell from your lips you immediately regretted it, surprised you were so blunt, however the sudden laugh that boasted from Sukuna brought some confidence into your statement of choice. Decreasing the distance between the two of you quickly, Sukuna approached, tossing his jacket onto the chair nearby, and his large hands sought out your cheeks gently, pulling your face to his while pushing his lips onto yours. Whimpering in bliss as his arms moved around your waist, your fingers gripped onto his upper sleeves tightly as his aggressively passionate kiss had you melting against his firm body.
Tumblr media
Both of you left the office together, and neither of you mentioned any type of "goodbye" as you walked along side of Sukuna down the sidewalk in the direction of his apartment. It was pretty obvious where the two of you were headed...and with Toji mentioning he wasn't going to be home, you didn't have a single desire to hop on a train and head back at this moment.
And how could you want to go home to the empty apartment that was full of despair and misery when you were feeling so alive in Sukuna's bed? His deep and powerful thrusts making you gasp and cry from the pleasure you never knew existed before meeting him. Your nails left long and beautiful scratches down his muscled back, and the most satisfied groans left Sukuna's throat as he continued to fuck himself deeply into your sopping heat. One of his strong hands was up under your back, holding your body close and his lips were sucking tenderly at the slope of your neck, leaving wet and hot kisses between his pants. Your incoherent begs for him to 'please don't stop' only fueled his ambition to make you completely lose it even more on his fat cock, loving how you looked when your hands were desperately gripping the blankets at your sides because you couldn't handle the intensity of what he was doing to you. He blessed your quivering body with a powerful orgasm, and you creamed all over his cock as he continued with slow and deep thrusts, kissing your teary cheeks as you sobbed in bliss, your fingernails gripping onto his shoulders and leaving little crescent moons in their wake. Of course, he wasn't done with you, and one orgasm from you wouldn't suffice. He wanted you to be so dumb on his dick that there wouldn't be a coherent thought in your mind. And you loved it. Loved how he flipped you over to your belly and buried himself deep into your already oversensitive pussy, reaching his bruising pace as you clawed at the bedsheets ahead of you, pushing your face into the fabric as you screamed in ecstasy. "Oh no pretty thing, let me fucking hear it this time..." He let out a demanding growl, one hand holding your waist tightly and the other reaching for your hair, tangling his fingers into it to pull your head up from the blankets so your screams and cries would echo out into his room instead of being muffled. Your cheeks burned with a feverish blush, never imagining you'd be moaning in such pleasure in another man's bed, your boss's bed at that. And you never wanted to be anywhere else.

Tell the story Mari
Tumblr media
Hehe! Alright, alright calm down
Back before everything, Kel used to have a little scholastic diary he bought for 4 dollars at a book fair
He guarded that thing with his life, not letting anyone see inside his book, and it had a little lock so no one could steal it and open it.
But one day, I got a little curious, and I asked him what was inside..
He got all flustered and rosy but pretended like he wasn't and kinda went "just.. stupid art.."
And I said "oh, your art isn't stupid, Kel! It's always lovely! May I see it?"
Then he paused and thought for a moment, then he whispered "you can see it.. but don't tell anyone.."
He opened the book a little and inside where maybe 10 or so drawings of just Sunny.
"He's the only person who sits long enough in the same spot so that I can draw them.."
He muttered, that clearly wasn't the full answer but I didn't push it, he allowed me to look through a few pages.
It was all Sunny.
He flipped to a page that had a lot of writing (and a lot of spelling errors, hehe) and frantically tried to turn the page before I can see but I read about half of it, it was something along the lines of:
"Today I caught Sunny starring.. I really like it when he stares"
"Sunny said his hands where cold and I was stupid and blurted out 'I can hold them to heat them up' stupid stupid stupid..
update: he let me hold them.."
Just a lot of cute little notes
Heh, I wonder if he still has that little diary..

[Start ID: 4 more pages of HLVRAI doodles about Darnold joining the Science Team and Half-Life creatures. Warning for blood in the 4th page.
Before the Science Team leaves the Mixology Department Lab, Darnold has to arm himself. He holds a conical flask and wine bottle with a silly straw stuck through the cork, both containing sleep potion, looking around: "Hmm…I'll need somewhere to store these…something…" He spots a box of decorations on the nearby shelf and his eyes light up: "Oh!" He picks it up with a delighted "Aha!" and sets it down on his lab table. "I know everyone's been telling me to stow these away somewhere, but I always knew we'd need them someday," he says, beginning to rifle through the contents and past a coil of fairy lights until he finds what he's looking for and exclaims, "Ah, there we go!"
He raises a transparent glass bulb ornament with a string attached on top out of the box with a huge grin. Later, he proudly shows off the now sleep-potion-filled glass bulbs hanging from a belt he's since buckled around his waist. He now has a defense weapon he can throw at hostile creatures to knock them out without killing them. Bonus drawing: Gordon is disturbed by how Darnold seems to never run out of his potion-bulbs even though he's been slinging them consistently. "How do you keep replenishing those so quick?? Weren't you just out???" he asks. The four potion-bulbs strapped to Darnold's belt haven't gone down in numbers despite having taken two in his hands. He looks at Gordon, puzzled: "I have an inventory, Dr Freeman. Don't…don't you have one?"
Separate scenario: Benrey shoots a reproachful look at the Snark creature he's holding in his hand, his other hand it bit held away from it: "ow, aw wuh the hell bro, no biting." The one-eyed, bug-like alien hisses at him, ready to go again. Benrey begins shoving the Snark into his mouth, only delayed in progress by the angry, screeching creature holding itself back with its two hooked front legs. Gordon yells at him: "Wh- DON'T FUCKIN' EAT IT?!!"
Separate scenario: Darnold holds up a docile Spore Launcher, the puppy-sized, toothy, lungfish-like creature quiet in his hands. It has a smooth rounded skull crowned by spikes, two spindly front legs, gills along its side and trailing tentacles. Darnold looks at it, the nervousness melting from his face. His mouth turns up in a little smile: "H-huh, I…You might just be the only thing that hasn't tried to kill me today..." Extra drawing: Darnold, with the right side of his head sprayed with blood and wearing a tight-lipped smile, pets the Spore Launcher cradled in his arms to soothe himself as fighting and gunshots ring out around him.
End ID.]
Previous parts to the Darnold saga found here: [Part 1.]
I love Spore Launcher so much *hands it gently to Darnold* your emotional support, sir.
Thanks to my friend for imparting to me the wonderful knowledge of Half Life creatures <3 [heart] (you know who you are >:))

I recently got into this 4 year old They Might Be Giants song, “The Communists Have the Music.”  Music video directed by David Cowles and Jeremy Galante with art by David Plunkert.
Linnel:
On the one hand, Fran Lebowitz memorably said of Communism vs. Fascism that one was too dull and the other too exciting. However, our song takes its cue from somebody (I can’t remember who) in our high school, who once compared two bands (I wish I could remember which bands) by declaring that one had the power but the other had the tunes. This enduring metaphor seems to apply to any pair of things we can think of.
I see a lot of people who are interpreting this very literally: that it is about someone who is interested in communism not for rational reasons, but because they’re interested in the aesthetics. I don’t think this is supported by the song.
Tumblr media
TMBG have been making music for 30 years. Music is really important to them, I don’t think they would use it to reference something they think is unsubstantive. Music is culture, music is creative and expressive, music uses literary devices frequently. Fascism is more concerned with top-down control and uses stifling  techniques on its subjects. Communism is about bottom-up control where the people are allowed to be expressive. The song focuses on music because the singer is concerned with art, human spirit, and humanity in general. A literal approach to the song is that the singer is only interested in aesthetics but doesn’t understand the substance. Taking a creatively-minded approach opens up the song to embrace it as an anthem in favor of communism and left-leaning politics.
I think some of the major themes are art vs propaganda, humanity, dehumanization, paranoia, listening, watching, identity, and of  course, politics. It is about finding meaning and connection in a landscape that is trying to divide us, make us scared or angry, and dehumanize ourselves.
I think the song itself is intentionally using symbolism and leaving its message up for interpretation because of this type of backlash to these types of messages.
Tumblr media
The music video itself is a satire of American Red Scare politics. The scare is still going today- we still can’t listen to songs or study the period without a fear of it.
Right away they dragged me to the Committee To explain my un-American activity They're gonna see they made a mistake If they'd only let me play my mixtape
No matter the singer’s intent, the Committee refuses to listen to the music, refusing to hear the message.
Tumblr media
But, the music video is packed with people listening, only they’re listening in secret. This is a direct spoof on cold-war espionage and paranoia that led to US intelligence listening to its own citizens.
The music video draws a metaphoric comparison between spying and recording/listening to music.
Tumblr media
Some of the listening devices are references to real-world spying devices and animal experimentation done by the CIA. A 70s CIA operation code-named Tacana explored using pigeons with tiny cameras to take photos. The CIA also tried using migratory birds to place sensors to test for chemical weapons. There was also an incredibly cruel operation called Acoustic Kitty which involved putting listening devices inside cats.
Tumblr media
Animals are meant to be connected to nature, but the bulldog, pigeon, and cat have been turned into Frankenstein cyborgs. These technological monsters come about from the misapplication of technical knowledge and an excess of power. It is dehumanizing.
Tumblr media
Another major theme in the video is political propaganda and the idea of watching. “The Committee” are just angry watching eyes, swarming like predators. The politicians watched on TV are disingenuous puppeteers putting on a political show. The propaganda is an endless progression of war machines and calls for violence.
“The fascists have the outfits.” A reference to Hugo Boss, who contributed to the fashions of the Nazi regime. I think that the singer is suggesting these other movements have style but no substance. The various forms of propaganda may be more enticing, but they lack humanity.
Tumblr media
We watch propaganda, but we experience art. The act of listening is a transformative experience that connects us with our humanity. While the propaganda being pushed promotes war, hatred, and paranoia, the two spies  who have been listening to each other in secret find love and human connection.  The politicians seek to divide everyone, but the wall between these two has come down.
“I hear a melody and just as suddenly I know who I’m supposed to be.”
Tumblr media
The fascist system is heirarchal, and the red scare paranoia is ultimately self-destructive as the animal spies all turn on each other. Perhaps it happened because they are all listening to the communist music, which explains why they are also dragged away to the Committee.
At the end, the singer himself is trapped in a television, which I believe is symbolic of a type of political reprogramming. His identity is now lost, and he’s only able to regurgitate propaganda.

I GOTTA RANT ABT SMTH THAT HAPPENED AT SCHOOL WITHIN THE LAST 2-ISH HOURS
Story under the cut:
BIT OF BACKGROUND INFORMATION BEFORE WE START
So, This is my biology teacher, We’re gonna just call her Mrs. Bio
Well, last week I came to school, Monday, Mrs. Bio wasn’t there, my friend Eevee (she loves Pokémon) had told me and my friends in the gc we had, we were thrilled because the thing about her is that,
That’s not a joke either! She will get upset if we get out of our seats 5 seconds before the bell rings, not exaggerating. And our teacher assistant, she’s chill, for the most part,
But, last week on Monday, when she wasn’t there, we were given a 2-paged packet, no biggie I get it done before class ends, I turn it in,
The very next day when I get in there and Mrs. Bio handed packets back, she didn’t give me mine back, I wasn’t that bothered about it because oh I already did the assignment
BUT NO
She gave me a new one when she seen me drawing and listening to music, because she asked me why I wasn’t ’doing my work’
It was already done
I did it the day before
Now, I didn’t re-do it- nuh uh I refused to
Same thing with the next because we spent three days on it, (we have a few days per assignment unless it’s like,, a YouTube video we need to watch, then it’s due at the end of class)
So, yesterday we were given study guides (our assignments we did all stapled together) and that one 2-Paged assignment? Wasn’t there, so I finished an assignment that’s due tomorrow, then I watched YouTube
Now, note, Eevee wasn’t here today because they had Girl Scout stuff to do, but when the Mrs. Bio said we can go to the lounge if we had all our work done, she told me I couldn’t go
It was the fucking packet
I argued that I had it done, and she refused to believe me, like she didn’t even look through the papers on her desk, she said I didn’t do it and tried to make me do it again. I once more refused and I verbally said I’m not going to do it,
Oh- and she then proceeded to say, that for the 3-day length that this assignment was given she watched me mess around and draw
All three days
.
SHE WAS ONLY THERE FOR TWO DAYS.
Best part about this? I have 4 people as witnesses for all of this, 3 watched me get my work done, Eevee, my friend (fuck it we call him robo) Robo, and my friend (his initials (middle and first)) EP,
The fourth person was in front of me, and my friend Robo was nearby, when she said this wonderful line
‘I will videotape you doing nothing the next time this happens’
For those of you unaware, without mine or my parents/guardians consent? That was illegal.
So, me and Robo then reported this to an admin that we ran into the hall,
This all happened in roughly 20 minutes. And this isn’t the first time Mrs. Bio was reported, this is the second time from my class specially that she’s been reported,
thank you for reading this,
I SWEAR ILL UPDATE YALL ON WHAT HAPPENS

I Think He Knows
Funnybunny Week Day 4: Rabbit Tendencies . Maybe it was the coding, maybe it was because of his avatar. But it was always the smallest things that triggered Jax to go into 'rabbit mode'. His cute girlfriend being one of them.
Read on AO3
Another day another funnybunny ficlet! I don't really have much to say this time but enjoy the tooth-rotting fluff!
.
He got that boyish look that I like in a man I am an architect, I'm drawing up the plans It's like I'm seventeen, nobody understands No one understands - I Think He Knows by Taylor Swift
.
It wasn’t unknown that Jax could occasionally have his moments when he ‘turned into a rabbit’. What everyone didn’t know was what exactly triggered them from time to time.
There was one time when there was a single speck of corn on the table after dinner one night and his ‘rabbit mode’ kicked in. His ears were flat against the back of his head and his eyes were practically bulging out of their sockets before he turned and ran away, glaring angrily at anyone who tried to come near him.
Another time, Caine had gotten everyone some new blankets to match their themed rooms. Jax had instantly started purring and rubbing his face against the soft fabric the moment it landed in his hands, taking it back to his room where he promptly started to make a next, laying the new blanket in the center.
Not to mention his behavior changing slightly whenever these triggers happened. Whether it be his foot hammering against the floor, his ears perking up if he heard a sound from afar, nudging anyone with his ‘nose’ if he wanted them to spend time with him, or even honking in his sleep.
Everyone had thought they had seen the most from his rabbit-like antics whenever these triggers happened. But then when he and Pomni got together, those behaviors and triggers only amplified, especially with Jax being so overprotective over the jester.
Which, funnily enough, is what triggered him today.
“Jax” Pomni raised a brow at him.
The rabbit was currently carrying her in his arms, muttering under his breath as he walked into his bedroom.
“Jax” she tried again to get his attention, but the rabbit was too laser focused on the mission in his head.
He plopped her down in a chair in the corner of his room before going over to his bed, tearing off the blankets, mattress and pillows and threw them into the ground.
“Gotta make sure it’s right,” he mumbled, “Gotta make sure you’re safe.”
Now that piqued the jester’s curiosity, “Jax?”
He still wasn’t listening, rearranging each sheet and cushion into a nest, even taking half of the blankets and hooking them up to the ceiling to create some sort of fort for the nest.
Once he was done, he scooped his tiny girlfriend into his arms and set her down in the middle of the nest, wrapping a blanket around her shoulders. “Mate is safe,” he muttered.
“Jax,”
“Make sure mate is safe,”
“Jax,”
“Mate was hurt, mate is in nest, mate is now safe,”
“Jax!” Pomni raised her voice a bit louder, snapping the rabbit out of his ramblings, “What’s going on?”
The bunny sighed, laying himself down next to her and rested his head on her lap, the jester’s hands automatically reaching up to stroke the fur between his ears. “You were hurt,” he whimpered, “I had to protect you,”
A watery smile etched at Pomni’s lips, her hands moving to cup Jax’s cheeks instead, “Jax.”
“Yes,”
“My love,”
“Uh huh,”
“My sweet and beautiful idiot,”
“Yeah?”
“...I just stubbed my toe.”
“But it looked painful!” he whined, burying his face into her stomach as he let out another pitiful cry.
“It was,” Pomni admitted..
“See!” Jax protested.
“-But only for a moment, I’m fine now,” she told him, holding him tighter.
Jax let out a discouraged hum, “I know, it's just…Everything has changed since you came here. You lit up my world in ways I couldn’t even imagine. I’ve never cared this much for anyone before. So seeing someone as sweet and kind as you face the slightest bit of pain, it triggers that animalistic part of him. I know it seems silly, but that’s how much I care about you. The fact that I can let down my walls enough to show you that part of me just shows how much you mean to me.”
“Oh, Jax,” Pomni’s eyes watered slightly, bringing the rabbit into another hug as she wrapped her arms around his upper body. “I care about you so much too. You’ve been that light for me as well despite how you acted when we met. I’m honored that you feel this passionately about me, but trust me when I say this, I’m okay with a stubbed toe. As long as I’m with you, I’ll be okay.”
Jax nodded slightly, peering back up at her with his large yellow eyes, “Did you at least like the nest.”
The jester giggled, peppering a small kiss on his forehead, “I loved the fort.”
She laughed louder at his gleeful smile and him nuzzling into her shoulder. Her hands moved up his head, going to scratch him behind his ear. Just as she suspected, his foot began to hammer against the floor the more she scratched.
“Oh toots, the things you do to me,” he grinned dopily.
“Maybe your ‘rabbit mode’ does have its benefits,” She chortled, content in this small yet blissful moment between two of them.
There would definitely be more ‘rabbit mode’ experiences to come, but Pomni found herself cherishing those times to come. After all, her boyfriend was just so cute like this!
