Zolu is the more popular pairing but I feel like in Luzo is the more realistic one. Like one day Luffy decides he wants to try sex and well, Zoro is his closest friend and he’s the coolest ever so he just approaches him and straight up says “Zoro let’s have sex!” Zoro considers it for about .2 seconds in his ape brain before he shrugs and says “Sure” because 1. He’ll do anything to please his captain 2. Luffy never gives up on anything and for whatever reason he decided he’s wants to fuck Zoro and therefore that means it will inevitably happen, might as well not resist and 3. If Luffy’s interested in sex now he’ll do it with someone there’s no way in hell it’s not going to be him. That’s HIS captain after all and who’s he going to sleep with if not him? That Erocook? (Bonus: 4. Zoro always been mildly curious how Luffy’s rubbery traits would work in bed.)
People naturally make Zoro this dominating top because he’s physically strong and (generally) mentally sound and more stoic especially post TS. But let’s be real he’s been focused on nothing but being the worlds best swordsman since he was a kid, he hasn’t been out there fucking bitches getting money. (He’d get lost trying to find the hole tbh) He’s also a head empty chaos demon running around with Luffy especially pre TS. I just don’t see him having the time or wasting the effort to seek out sex, he’d rather drink and pass out.
Zoro would be more than willing to let Luffy do whatever he pleases and he’d enjoy it too. Luffy takes control of every room he enters and two of his biggest character traits are being hungry and never listening to anyone so why wouldn’t he be the top between the two? Yeah he’d be sloppy and maybe even a little selfish but that’s Luffy for you and Zoro accepts that.
I think Luffy would probably misconstrue their relationship and say that Zoro is his boyfriend out of the blue because from his POV someone you love, want to be with forever, and have sex with is your boyfriend and Zoro checks all those boxes.
Zoro would probably just accept it. He’d just let Luffy think that if it makes him happy and you know what, he WOULD be his boyfriend. He already devoted his life to the guy and would follow him into death, Luffy’s been clingy since the day they met, and looks at Zoro like he’s the sun in his fucking sky. If you add sleeping together into the mix, they really are just dating even if Luffy doesn’t necessarily know what that means. Or maybe he does know, he’s smarter than he lets on. He says things like “you’ll never leave me” and “we’ll be together forever” like their statements and not question. Zoro never denies it because he’s right, Zoro’s either going to die for Luffy or live beside him until he dies another way. If that’s not love than what is?
Yeah so cute top and big scary guard dog bottom have a grip on me. I think I’m on the Luzo train now.
(ps. I still ship Zolu and switch Luffy and Zoro this is just my brainrot of the day)

okay y'all seemed to like the last one so here's a few more Horizon 3 thoughts:
Aloy won’t die. It would completely upend the series’ themes and just be really nihilistic.
Since Nemesis is a gestalt entity I think it’s a safe bet that we’ll see Sam Witwer, Carrie-Anne Moss, etc again. I’m curious how they’re going to do it because at least structurally, it’s basically a reaper. Maybe it’ll use different Avatars when communicating like the Leviathan in ME3.
It's gonna take some work to make a flashback/dream/vision not contrived but I would love to see Varl and Rost again. I think we deserve that.
Minerva is gonna have its work cut out for it blocking access to both the dormant Faro Swarm and the ZD terraforming system.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Nemesis has some sort of corruption function that becomes the equivalent of the corruption in HZD. It would be a really fun tech showcase if GG uses Zenith nanotech for machine corruption and leans into mechanical body horror.
If we’re going to Ban-Ur I really really hope they do the work to make the Banuk less problematic and more fleshed out as a culture. A quasi-Spartan society absolutely would not survive in an extreme environment, *especially* without megafauna to hunt. The Banuk characters are lovely and well-written; they deserve a society as well thought out as the Utaru or Carja. I’m honestly fine if there’s retcons or revamps to the cultural lore because the whole “outsider barges in and becomes chief” is rooted in racist, colonial tropes and we just don’t really need that imo.
The most recent footage of Death Stranding 2 (also running on Decima) has me SO excited for the visuals. GG’s gonna knock it out. The facial rendering and animation that Kojima Productions are doing looks industry-peak and I’m sure GG’s gonna match that. Aloy’s Gay Panic™️ scene on the beach in HBS is already top-tier nonverbal storytelling through animation. Digital Foundry actually just posted a really cool tech breakdown of the current Decima engine. I’m especially excited about the environmental stuff. The ocean simulations in HFW are already incredible and I hope they increase verticality in the world. I can’t wait to see the Sacred Lands in current gen graphics.
I really love Kotallo’s DIY arm and it’s so so important to his development but Beta and Gaia now have access to Zenith nanotech, maybe give your buddy a sick upgrade hmm?
Speaking of, I can’t wait to see Beta come into her own. She’s one of the best parts of HFW and Aloy’s character absolutely shines in a sibling dynamic.
I wouldn’t get your hopes up for a romance mechanic. Everyone’s feelings on that aside, it would be really odd from a game development perspective to just overhaul part of how the narrative develops Aloy’s character in the last act of the story. Yeah, there are flashpoints but I would argue that the presence of choice in Horizon is smoke and mirrors- cosmetic at best. Kentucky Route Zero (which you should play) does something similar where the player is given a certain amount of control over the substance of individual conversations and scenarios and it does absolutely nothing to alter the plot, by design. I think it’s the same here - this isn’t really a choice-based RPG, the flashpoints don’t really affect anything plot-wise or for Aloy’s character development. Olin is still out of the story, Nil lives, Regalla still dies one way or another. Aloy’s character development is pretty firmly on rails (think Jin Sakai, not Shepard - you get to guide some momentary character reactions but that’s it). I don’t think HBS is a testing ground either - If they were gonna introduce a romance mechanic I think they’d just do it, and not spend two years making a direct continuation of HFW’s main quest and establishing a specific romance hard-baked into the plot, complete with multiple leitmotifs for the character relationship (which is something they haven’t done before afaik) just to introduce a side quest mechanic coming in 5 years. I genuinely can’t think of any game or dev that has beta tested a major alteration to upcoming game mechanics that way - it doesn’t really make any sense in terms of developer resources, and these games are extremely time-consuming to make. I know this is a thing a bunch of people want and I can totally empathize with that! I just think it’s probably not on the table.
I would bet money the series will bookend itself and the epilogue will involve a) the naming of Zo and Varl’s kid and b) Lis’ pendant.
Mostly I'm just looking forward to being surprised. One of my favorite things that Horizon does is use carefully established elements in the world to pull the plot in unexpected directions and keeping the world grounded while they lean into speculative science fiction. I can't wait to see what Guerrilla is cooking up

i’d DIE for the hurt/comfort trope would you pleaseee feed us some yasmine and harry hurt comfort?? like it’s even easier than for other couples because poor yasmine is hurting 80% of the time 😭😭 if you don’t wanna do it for them because it’s too obvious save the idea for another couples night please!!!
Harry eyes Yasmine holding her fork with a death grip. Normally, he’d laugh about it and ask her what's wrong, but by the way she refuses to take her eyes off her food, he thinks it’s a little more serious than that. Best not to make a joke about her wanting to kill him.
So he puts his own utensils down and waits for her to say something herself. It takes some time, but when it happens, it happens very quickly. One second Yasmine’s cutting into the steak Harry’s prepared for her, and the next, her knife and fork are clattering on the plate and she’s pressing her hands into her eyes, her shoulders shaking. "Fuck!" she whispers.
Harry immediately stands and rounds the table to get to her. “Hey.” He sits beside her, cradling her head. “Yasmine. It’s okay. It’s okay.”
She cries softly as Harry pulls her into an embrace. Despite her moodiness and frustration, it’s rare to actually see her cry. And if she does end up crying it’s out of pain. That is something Harry can handle – it’s fixable. This? This is still new territory.
“It’s okay,” he whispers, kissing her hair. “Whatever it is. We’ll do something about it.”
When she finally starts mumbling what’s bothering her, it takes him a while to piece everything together. He understands that she’s upset at herself for canceling a dinner with her friends and that it’s not the first time. And because she’s done it so many times, she thinks her friend hates her. It’s also that friend’s birthday, which makes it all the worse.
He holds her tighter, bringing his chair so close, she’s practically in his lap. “It’s not your fault,” he murmurs, resting his cheek on her head. “Oh, Yasmine. You can’t control that.”
“It’s just that she always reschedules the dinner for a weekday. If she did it on a weekend, I’d have enough time to feel better between therapy and all, but first she chose a Wednesday.” Yasmine suddenly raises her head. Harry’s heart breaks at the sight of her red eyes. “Wednesday! I need Wednesday to relax! I already hate going to work Wednesday morning, you know?”
“Yes, baby, I know,” Harry murmurs. He runs the heels of his palms over her eyes. She sniffles. "Take a breath, please."
“And then she picked Tuesday. Which is when I go to therapy.”
“Yes.”
“And then last Friday but…” she trails off.
“You went out with me that night,” he recalls.
“And she probably thinks I hate her. And this is how I lost all my other friends. I never saw them. And all my excuses were so stupid and I didn’t want to tell them what was really happening because then people treat me differently and you know I hate when people do that.”
“I know.” He cups her face, tilting it upwards. He presses a few kisses to her cheek. “But, Yasmine, like I said, this isn’t something you can control.”
“I can control it if I take like 5 Advils before I go out.”
“Which I don’t want you to do.”
“I don’t want to either but now it’s been three weeks since her birthday and I haven’t seen her and I’ve only given her excuses, and–”
Harry shakes his head. “That’s okay. You come first.”
“It’s her birthday!” Yasmine argues, tears spilling down her face again. Harry never sees her like this. It’s so difficult to look at her face. “She comes first!”
“I understand it’s her birthday,” he soothes. “But I’m also sure she wouldn’t like it if you had to leave the dinner early because you weren’t feeling well. Wouldn’t it be worse that way?”
Yasmine’s brown eyes remain glossy and utterly devastated. Her eyelashes stick to each other. “If she reschedules, Harry, I don’t think she’ll invite me.”
“Then that’s completely on her.”
She doesn't say anything, letting Harry pull her back into his chest. She wraps her arms around him and cries softly into his shoulder, Harry’s hand rubbing her back gently.
“I hate it so much,” she says between breaths. “I hate this. I hate it all. I want to be normal and have friends again. I don't want to hurt anymore."
Harry’s jaw tightens and he closes his eyes, fearing they’ll begin to tear up as well. Her voice breaks, long hair unraveling from her usual bun, sticking to her face. He holds her tight as if he’s the glue keeping her together from breaking. She trembles in his arms, and Harry decides that he hates this feeling the most in the world. It’s as if he’s being torn apart from the inside, a brief twinge in his chest.
“Yasmine,” he whispers, pushing her hair off her face. “It won’t always be like this.” He forces himself to look down at her wet face. “Just this morning you were telling me about how much stronger you feel. How usually you get tired by 4, but recently you’ve been making it until 6. That’s progress.”
“I can’t wait for it to get better,” she says, a desperate whimper emerging from her throat. “It’s been years. I can’t take more years of this. Harry. Before you…before you it was so–” She balls her hands into fists. “I can’t do that again.”
“You can,” Harry says. He wipes her face again, his entire palm drenches with the residue. “And when you look back, you’ll see how brave you were. How strong. I tell you all the time, don’t I? You are the strongest woman I’ve ever met.” He gives her a small shake. “I can only dream of being half as strong as you.”
To his horror, Yasmine only cries harder, hiding her face again. He swears under his breath and holds her wrists, trying to see her face again.
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to–! Fuck!” He pulls her back into a hug. “I’m the worst at this. I’m sorry!”
Yasmine only shakes her head, throwing her arms around his shoulders. “I love you,” she says into his neck. “And I hate you for that.”
“For what?” He clutches her so tight, she squeaks. “For loving you so bad? Unfortunately I can’t regret that. You’ll have to suffer for it, it seems.”
“For making me cry again!”
“I was trying to comfort you!”
“You did!” She sniffles, taking several deep breaths to calm herself down. Harry could stay here for days, just holding her – minus the crying of course. He could do the rest of his life without seeing a single tear shed by his baby. He wants her to laugh at him. He’ll happily take her brooding over this. He’ll even take her anger. Anything over this.
So to fix it, Harry does the only thing he knows that will make her stop crying. He dramatically clears his throat. “I have brought peace, freedom, justice, and security to my new–”
Yasmine groans, melting into his chest. “Please no.”
Their dinner has gone cold. Harry reaches for her plate, about to tell her that he’ll go reheat it for her.
Her phone on the table suddenly begins to ring. Slowly, she unwinds herself from around Harry and reaches for her phone. She returns back to him, crawling into his lap. He loves her weight on him.
“It’s her,” she whispers, panic in her eyes. “Should I pick up?”
“Yes.” Harry tucks her hair behind her ear. “Let’s hear her out.”
Yasmine nods several times, swallowing. “Yeah. Yeah. Okay.” She answers it, putting it on speaker. “Hi.”
Yasmine’s friend says, “Hi Yas! Good news. I was able to reschedule the dinner plans without being charged so how’s Friday for you? I thought before I made the new reservation that I should ask you.”
Yasmine glances up at Harry. “This Friday?”
“Yup!”
Harry smiles encouragingly and nods. He takes her hand and kisses her palm.
“Give me one second, I’m going to check my schedule.” She scrambles to put the phone on hold. Harry raises his eyebrows mid kiss.
“We made a plan to go out with your family on Friday,” Yasmine whispers, worrying her lower lip. “I can’t go to this dinner. I’d rather–”
“Baby,” Harry laughs softly, holding her chin. “Tell the bloody woman you’ll come.”
“But I promised you–”
“It doesn’t matter. I see you every day and I can’t take you away from your friends.” He runs his knuckles over her cheek. “Go on. It’s okay.”
“Will you be upset with me?”
“Not even in the slightest.”
“Will your parents?”
“No, baby, they’ll be fine.”
She swallows. Then nods. Takes a few breaths. “Hi,” she says when she unmutes the call, “that sounds great. I promise I’ll be there.”
“Great!” her friend chirps. “And hey. You can talk to me about anything, you know?”
Tears form in Yasmine’s eyes again. She pulls the phone away from her to sniffle. “Yeah.”
“I’m just assuming you’re going through something, and I want you to know that even if I can’t help you, I’ll always listen.”
Yasmine’s lower lip begins to wobble again. “Thank you.”
Harry leans in and kisses the corner of her mouth. She then softly says goodbye and ends the call. She shifts her head down and kisses Harry properly. His lips are warm, his kiss the sweetest it can be, and his arms are around her, making her the safest person in the world.
“Thank you,” she whispers against his mouth. The tears slide down her cheeks. “Thank you so much.”
Harry doesn’t have it in him to tell her off for thanking him. Instead, he lets the love he feels for her take over, and he brings her back for another kiss.

“I plunge to my death” Percy Jackson Au
Ok first, if you somehow came up with this exact thing already, i wouldn’t know, I don’t even follow the Percy Jackson tag yet, but just tell me and I’ll take it down or tag it as an alt universe of your au and credit it, but I have like three other ones I’ll be posting so we’ll see.
- This au is connected to both the tv show and the book because I like what both did in terms of the arch episode.
- This mostly goes how the tv show episode goes, Percy gets poisoned, they get to the top of the arch, he sacrifices himself. But this time, he does pray to his dad as he falls over 100 ft to his death.
- His dad doesn’t answer. He’s the one who somehow last second, controls the water to save himself. He sinks to the bottom of the lake and gets stuck. He feels the poison and his wounds get slightly better.
-In this au, the nereid doesn’t actually help him get out of the water, because in this version it’s inspired by how in the books, when he left the water the wounds came back. If he leaves the lake, he could die.
- So he stays stuck there for almost three days while the nereids bring him seaweed and shit to eat, but eventually he gets sick of it.
- he learns that Poseidon didn’t really want him to leave, at least not yet, mainly because he knew if he left he would continue to be chased by monsters or die in some way and believed a war would come either way. Basically, if the Poseidon that said “heroes always end badly, I regret getting your mom pregnant” actually did something about it
- but of course, he can’t keep Perseus ‘I don’t listen to anybody but myself’ Jackson down in a lake without him going a lil crazy and he breaks the root holding him down and swims to shore, but the poison instantly kicks back in, and gets back in the water
- his father gifts him a hydrai (a large vase/urn basically that carry’s water) that holds basically a portal to the ocean in it. GUYS LISTEN, I HEARD THIS MYTH SOMEWHERE BUT WHEN I TRIED TO FIND THE SOURCE IT DISAPPEARED. I was positive I heard that there was a vase that held the ocean in it somewhere so just take my word 😭
- the mist makes it look like a water bottle with no label 😭💀💀💀
- Percy accepts the gift because he wants to get out of there, but he suddenly does not have a very good idea of the gods or specifically his father. I don’t think the nereid actually told him that his father really did care, at least a little bit, all he saw it as was his dad not thinking he would succeed/ he saw it as Zeus turning Thalia into a tree because he didn’t want to idk disprespect the other gods? Cause it was easier than defending her? That’s how Percy sees it anyways
- Meanwhile, Grover and annabeth are convinced he died. They looked and called for him, but there was no proof of his survival, so instead annabeth took his place in a lot of missions to fulfill the quest cause she’s a girl boss like that.
- I think her main theory of what happened to him is straight up “I saw him fall and didn’t see him land, so maybe he turned into the lake or a tree or something too” 💀😭
- anyways Percy gets chased by another monster but has no more fucks to give. He’s scary. He’s pale, has dark eyes and a taste for vengeance.
- he tries to find annabeth and Grover but they’re pretty ahead of him.
- my main idea is that they meet again in the underworld with hades and they are little wary honestly.
- also omg I didn’t think of this before but what if they thought, hey, he’s in the underworld, guess he did die 💀.
-But anyways what I thought would happen was annabeth and Grover get there first and annabeth has the backpack with the bolt in it. Hades asks if they wanted a trade and that’s why they came. He bluffs and tells them if they give him the bolt and the helmet he’d let go Percy’s mom or “bring back” percy. (Hades knows percy is not dead and is kinda pissed that Percy is constantly on the edge of death but making it because of his dad technically, and he can’t take him to punishment field or whatever he calls it idk)
- I think annabeth chooses percy and is about to give the bag over, but realizes he was tricked and he was never dead. But idk. There are so many diff ways this could go and I’d love to hear how you guys would write it. I’d love some reblog a that add to this idea.
Also I need unhinged percy content
(Sorry if the art or wording is bad, it’s late and I’m tired)

ok since there are now less than 24 hours (!) until the finale I’m locking in my predictions
1. I think there’s definitely going to be an “I Love You” between Ed and Stede. We pretty much know there’s going to be a reunion kiss but I definitely think that believing Stede might be dead is the motivation Ed needs to admit his feelings to him. (Many of us also predicted Ed would fish up one of Stede’s letters in a bottle and the promo photos confirmed this.)
2. I do think Izzy is going to die. I don’t want him to, of course, but rumors are flying and evidence is piling up at this point. He’s at a satisfying point in his character development where his story would feel complete if he were to die, and as much as I want him to be in S3 I think his death could signal a narrative shift in which all of the characters realize “oh shit, things are never going to be the same”. If he does have to die, it would be really satisfying to have him sacrifice his life in order to save the crew that he’s come to love so much despite himself. Also, the “it’s about belonging to something” speech which we heard in the trailer feels dangerously like final monologue territory.
3. We know Ed, Stede, and Zheng are going to form an alliance to take down Ricky, and I think that after they do that, Stede is going to stay behind with Ed, and Zheng will take the remaining Revenge crew under her wing. I feel like there is going to be a separation of some kind, because either Stede is going to continue captaining and have a sort of mutual separation (not a breakup, more of a long-distance situation) with Ed, or Stede is going to say goodbye to his crew for the time being to finally get some fucking stability in his life. I do think the latter is more likely, though even just a few days ago I felt that the former was inevitable, so I guess we’ll see. Also, if the crew is separated at the end of the season it gives the writers an opportunity to have a The Muppets (2011) style reunion montage in S3 for a final voyage and I think that could be very fun.
4. I think the Revenge is going to be destroyed in some capacity. I have no basis for this but I just have a feeling. It’s another method to convey that things are changing.

TMA ending reflections (and theories about the sequel!)
Tumblr media
When I initially listened to the ending, it felt like a good plan (and the prospects of a perfect happy ending) unnecessarily jeopardised. Jon and Martin’s panicked conversation sounded so hopeless and their final decision felt impulsive. Everything was in shambles, and a good outcome was unlikely at this point. The promise of Somewhere Else seemed like an empty euphemism to make certain death more bearable. I was frustrated, and heartbroken.
Now that I've taken a few days to process and distanced myself from the characters' momentary pain, I actually truly believe that what happened at the end was a happy accident instead.
I don’t think I can put it better than the Reddit post already has—The original plan proposed by Annabelle could have had equally (if not worse) disastrous outcomes. Even if it had been canonically executed, knowing the way Jonny and Alex love to write, things would still have been shown to end ambiguously—just less tragically poetic. For the purposes of the narrative, I think they did a great job of ending the series on a climactic, fulfilling (and hopeful!) note that remains faithful to the overall tone of The Magnus Archives. Jon and Martin weren’t exactly planning on doing what they did, but it’s given them a chance at the best and happiest ending that was up for grabs.
And I love that I genuinely don’t feel like I have to be in denial of the canon at all to fully believe in this interpretation, since it was left strictly ambiguous on purpose.
Tumblr media
But there’s more!
The Magnus Protocol teaser has a seemingly unharmed (and physically corporeal) Martin surprised to see the familiar tape recorder show up again, long after he’s assumed they’ve stopped listening. This, plus the fact that Jonny and Alex have confirmed they will appear in TMA 2, tells me:
It’s unlikely that Jonny and Alex will appear simply to voice other side-characters, even those with distorted voices. It’s clear from Q&As that they take casting very seriously. I can’t see them double-casting (former) main characters.
So we’ll see Martin again, post-escape from Eyepocalypse. Not just an old S1-to-S5-era never-seen-before Magnus Archives tape found by Alice and Sam. Including formerly unrevealed tapes from TMA would be a really nice touch (and I hope we’ll get that too!), but I’m sure Jonny wouldn’t release that particular teaser if he wasn’t solidly planning on following through in some way. Jonny has always been very serious about giving the audience breadcrumb trails with properly viable clues.
Well … what about post-Eyepocalypse Jon? Well, I think Jon is only going to appear in such a way that either fully retains the ambiguity of the TMA ending, or hints/confirms in some way that he is also alive and unharmed (in whatever avatar or semi-avatar form).
In any case, if post-Eyepocalypse Martin (and maybe Jon) do indeed appear (which seems very likely at this point), it will also be implied or shown that they are, indeed, together—in a non-tragic, romantic, bordering on wholesome way.
I say this because confirming their death or separation after the TMA finale would completely ruin the sanctity of the ending. It’s really neatly tied up and beautiful as it is right now. Answering questions to ambiguous events negatively in sequels (eg having formerly surviving main characters simply as side-characters who die in sequels) is really hard to land properly. It borders on being disrespectful of the investment the audience put into the original. Jonny has always been very receptive and sensitive to these things.
However, showing that characters from a previously ambiguous ending are living their best lives as mysterious side-characters that pop in and out—bamboozling the main characters (but delighting the audience)—is a lot easier to execute favourably. It also keeps from taking attention away from the protagonists and the main plot of the sequel.
So my expectation (read: hope) is that we’re going to see Jon and Martin in our world, where the end of TMA implied that the tapes are, and where I assume The Magnus Protocol is set! They will be happy and together (this may be explicit or implied vaguely, I am not sure how they’d keep that completely ambiguous if the post-Eyepocalypse versions of the characters themselves explicitly appear), and nothing worse than TMA finale will happen to them.
I only have this belief because I have incredible faith in Jonny and Alex as writers! I think they subverted insensitive tropes creatively and did just about everything right in TMA, and I can’t say that about most authors I love. Yes, I do generally want my blorbos to be safe and happy, but the above is not just a culmination of my wishful thinking. Jonny and Alex have already said that they certainly aren’t going to try to overshadow TMA, but I’m also hoping The Magnus Protocol will complement TMA while not really trying to step on TMA’s toes. They didn't have to drop so many JonMartin return hints (or even write JonMartin into TMA 2 at all) but they did. Super excited and optimistic for what's to come!

Still trying to collect my thoughts after watching the final episode, but here’s some stuff I’ve been thinking about while watching it.
(spoilers, obviously)
I really, really loved Hawk and Tim’s dynamic in the 50s scenes (and 80s scenes too, of course, but we’ll get to that). I feel like this was also a point in their lives where there was at least a slight chance that they could’ve made it work – until Hawk screwed it up again. They’ve both clearly grown (especially Tim), their relationship appears quite well-balanced and there wasn’t that much baggage between them yet.
Looks like they kept a good amount from the book. Hawk did report Tim, preventing him from getting his dream job as well as barring him from government work altogether. Similar to what I suspected, Lucy was pregnant and Hawk realized that he needed Tim out of his life. It was overall awful but not as bad as I expected – though maybe only because I already knew it would happen.
It’s heartbreaking how Tim has realized time and time again that he needs to let Hawk go – including writing that letter to him, which I guess Hawk never found out about. Tim even told him that there were no expectations on his part, yet Hawk desperately wanted him in his life, only to push him away in the most horrible way shortly after it.
At least Tim did know the truth and, surprisingly, Hawk let him know himself (through Mary). I really thought Tim would find out about it sometime before ’86. It makes a lot of sense though, considering the scene of Tim in the hospital, watching baby Jackson. Tim clearly realized himself that he doesn’t have a place in Hawk’s life. This explains why Tim was constantly urging Hawk to be there for his family, but also why he wasn’t as hostile towards Hawk as he should have been. I mean, there was definitely some resentment on Tim’s part after ’57, but it wasn’t as big as I expected it to be after Hawk’s betrayal – which is why I always assumed Tim didn’t know the truth. But while Tim might have felt betrayed by Hawk’s actions, he probably did understand his reasoning in the end. Which makes it even sadder, because Hawk could have easily talked to him – perhaps Tim would’ve left by himself, realizing that working together would not end well for either of them.
Now, the 80s … I really love how we finally saw more affection between Hawk and Tim. I got teary eyed (while simultaneously having the biggest smile on my face) when Hawk lay down next to him in the hospital bed – this was so sweet and I was hoping for a moment like this. As I said before, I don’t mind that Hawk never told Tim that he loved him – even though I’ve been hoping it would happen at some point. But I feel like there wasn’t a point where a love declaration like this would have fit in, and Hawk kissing Tim publicly was a way better confession of his feelings than any “I love you” could have been. Tim was clearly at peace with himself, and I also believe that he knew that Hawk loved him – which is the only thing that matters in the end.
I guess that Tim’s “wrenching decision” really was a red herring of sorts. Love that they had him fight until the end, and also that we never really saw his death. We all knew that he would die, and letting the audience know through the AIDS quilt and Hawk telling his daughter that he loved Tim was perfect.
Also, Jerome? My sweet baby … that scene between him and Marcus in the gym made me bawl my eyes out. “You’re innocent” – “I’m innocent” … kill me now please.
Also, I’m so glad that I was right about Lucy leaving Hawk. She deserves to find happiness.
Hawk’s storyline was definitely something I was looking forward to the most (and I could probably write entire essays about his character). But I like that they still have him trying to protect his family, ready to leave if Lucy wanted him to. It just makes more sense for his character than to have him suddenly blindly choose Tim. At the same time, he did everything he could for Tim. I never expected Hawk to come out, but I love how he clearly found comfort within his love for Tim – getting him into that gala, confronting that guy (forgot his name, I think it was Dave?), kissing Tim publicly and confessing his love for Tim to his daughter. It was all a bit too late, but also not really – Hawk making the decision to fly to San Francisco and to then stay with Tim definitely helped him grow for the better. He lost everything in the end, but maybe he can finally find peace as well. Perhaps it even needed Tim’s death for Hawk to come to terms with his love for Tim. It’s sad but their story was always meant to end this way.
I’ll probably make a million posts about this show – I have so many thoughts and can’t wait to rewatch it all.

Fear of forgetting (Why I think Captain died from Alzheimer’s) (Essay?)
(SPOILERS FOR PRETTY MUCH ALL CAP LORE!!! TW: Discussion of death, brief description of a brain with Alzheimer’s)
What if Captain died of Alzheimer’s? It would explain why his medals are upside down, why his belt is on backwards, why there is no physical injury apparent in causing his death, why we never hear his name, why he was back at Button House five years after the war ended, and why he put a different letter than the one in his office in the bomb box.
But why would his belt be on backwards and medals be the same in the flashback? As a person who has seen many, many people die/suffer from Alzheimer’s, the first symptoms are usually casual forgetfulness and slowly diminishing of routine, but still trying to keep it. Cap is an extremely routine-driven person, he’s said it himself. Maybe he just kept on putting his belt on the wrong way and either 1) forgot to change it and slowly feel into the routine of putting it on that way without realizing it, or 2) keeps on noticing it’s on wrong but not being able to do anything about it because he forgets, and slowly forgetting that it’s on wrong at all. This goes for the medals, too.
But how would the Alzheimer’s theory explain his name? He clearly knows it, but the camera cuts off at just the right moments. Another common symptom of people with dementia, specifically Alzheimer’s, is being SO confident in doing things that they’ve done countless times before (like remember their names), but have forgotten how to do them because of the condition. We obviously don’t know what the Captain said after the cutoffs, but the fact that the other ghosts know his name and he never says it on screen is a little strange. It’s also a little weird that Pat used it as a quiz question when Cap, if he knew his name, would’ve known
It also explains why there is no physical evidence of the cause of his unalivement. If you look at CT scans and pictures of a normal person’s brain compared to one with Alzheimer’s, there is a noticeable difference. Alzheimer’s brains are dry, clotted up and shrunken. The brain cells, subsequently, can fail. If the brain fails, it’s not long until the whole system shuts down.
This ties into one of the possibilities as to why he was at Button House 5 years after the War had ended. Button House was a station that didn’t have a lot of action, based off of Captain’s line, “Maybe if they do invade, we’ll get a proper shot at (something I can’t remember)!” and Havers’s subsequent transfer in order to actually fight. It had a good possibility of being turned into a hospital for injured soldiers, considering its size, location and lack of action carried out there during the war. My theory is that they let Captain work there for a few years after the war because he had nowhere to go and they needed workers, but promptly realized he should be one of the patients and didn’t tell him out of fear of disrespecting his ranking (or just fear of a mental breakdown and how that would look socially and how that would affect the inner workings of the system), but slowly eased his work into almost nothing, while still letting him hold his rank. They didn’t have a lot of treatments back then other than alcohol to help you sleep, which, along with his already blurred worldview, would’ve made the lie a lot more convincing. If he did see through it, he would forget it in less than thirty seconds, anyway. It would also explain why he died in his uniform, with a swagger stick that went out of style at the end of WW1. Nobody told him☹️
There are a lot of reasons why he could’ve buried a different note in the bomb box than he had in the office (note: look very closely at the font on both of them. They look almost identical but if you look closer they’re different.), my personal favorite theory is that the letter in his pocket WAS actually a love letter instead of blueprints, but the other possibilities align better with the theme. 1) He simply forgot where he put the blueprints and had to make a copy lmao. 2) He actually wrote two different notes that were ment to look the same (one was the love letter) but unknowingly made himself forget later by making them look so alike, and he forgot that he had made two. 3) Someone else replaced it, trying to mimic his hand. “Not a single spy flew under my radar” or maybe you just forgot to remember the signs they had shown over time.
The Alzheimer’s theory explains the most of Captain’s character out of any theory i’ve heard recently, apart from the $-¡(¡de theory (Sorry I had to censor it, don’t wanna get flagged) and it is the saddest one in my opinion. He shows a lot of the signs and personality traits associated with the condition, so I just thought I’d share. Thank you for reading my ramblings. Uuh some joke about a ted talk idk it’s 2AM rn.
ALSO: In the intro he is in a mirror and there are cracks over his head, which represent memory loss in a lot of media

i am going to ramble about Heart of the Sun Warrior into the void in hopes that someone will actually browse the tags and join me because i need to gush about this book through incoherent rambles
Wow how do I put into words how this book (and duology) made me feel?? Tan had me guessing throughout the entire book about who would be endgame. Just when you think the scale tips one way, she follows it up with a tender scene with the other boy (?? ok technically man, but we’ll affectionally say boy because they are my boys). It swung back and forth so much that tbh I got frustrated at one point and legitimately thought that Xingyin wouldn’t end up with either.
With Wenzhi’s last scene in DOTMG I had a feeling that he would be endgame. So I’m surprised that even with that feeling, I was so unsure throughout the entire book. With Xingyin + Wenzhi’s conversation before the final battle and the finality of the word “Friends” and Xingyin’s monologue: “a part of me mourning the end of something precious, that never truly had a chance to begin”, I thought that was it. I convinced myself that the “I love you” when he died was just her speaking in the moment. Yes it was a truth, but not the truth. And with Wenzhi dead I didn’t think there was any chance that she would end up with him in the end.
Unless he was reborn as a mortal. Which brings me to the ending... oh the ending. It was such a beautiful resolution. What a way to bring Wenzhi and Xingyin back together, but also involve Liwei. With his death, I thought the only way Wenzhi + Xingyin would end up together was if he was reborn as a mortal and she found him. But to have Liwei send him down so that he could regenerate his immortal self, to do this out of love for Xingyin to see her be happy...we love to see growth! And not just growth of Liwei, but also Xingyin in her decision to wait for the elixir of immorality. It’s the classic tale of an immortal falling in love with a mortal and having to watch them die and then find them again in each new life. Tbh it’s a tragic curse, but there was so much joy in Xingyin’s thoughts as she describes all the moments that they would share together, that it filled me with hope instead (that and the fact that it shouldn’t be centuries hopefully). And the resolution really comes full circle with Chang’e and Houyi’s circumstances.
My thing with love triangles is that I feel like the author can sometimes force their resolution by just writing out the one who isn't chosen by giving them less screen time. For a while I felt like that's what Tan had done. Liwei just didn't have as many opportunities as Wenzhi here to prove himself or do something for Xingyin. Wenzhi had the pivotal role of getting the scroll from his father and then casting the enchantment, which was the key part that tethered them together and allowed for the sacrifice. Liwei was imprisoned for part of the novel. Etc. Etc. But as I thought more about Wenzhi's death and how he gave his life for her and thus his crown, I realized that Liwei could have given up his crown too. Ok yeah, it's easier for Wenzhi to do that when he knows it's a choice of life or death. Maybe if Liwei was tasked with the same decision to save her, he would give up that duty as well (tbh he probably would). BUT in the aftermath, when he still wouldn’t make the choice and help her heal... when he still believed that she would be able to live there, despite how much he could sense her hurting, that was when I knew that Liwei just couldn't choose her over everything. And he admits it when they meet for the final time. I guess all this to say that, I’m glad that Liwei did have his chances and his choices and that he wasn't just written off as shitty guy.

Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Season 2: Episode 10 Review
- Starting off the episode with a mass murder, beautiful. Though the good thing is that there’s a cool down period so if we can draw out the fight long enough, we may be able to win
- Chuchu begging Secelia despite her being a Spacian, how far we’ve come. And the fact that she hooks her boy Rouji up to get some tech info is also great.
- Felsi is the best girl and I will accept no disagreements. The way Earth House just adopts her like a homeless puppy is funny. Also the fact that she was so willing to do something besides wait for Petra to get better is great. She is the ultimate kusogaki as she is the only one going to the final battle.
- GOD DAMN IT ANIME GIVE ME YOUNG ELAN FOOTAGE!
- I’m guess the backstory was cut due to time constraints but I just want to see who the Elan’s were before they’re unfortunate unpersoning. However, we were still given delicious 5nore crumbs so I will accept it. It’s interesting how El5n stated El4n was the lucky one despite earlier in the series saying he was unfortunate. He finally realized that even though El4n died, he had someone who loved him, and now he knows just how important his actions towards Norea were. His line about envy could be directed at either Norea, Suletta, or El4n, and I hope he finds his own self separate from the Elan persona that had been forced on him
- Suletta and Guel’s duel was so stupid but so adorable. It really hammers home how they’re still children and they’ll do childish things. Also Guel 100% threw that duel, or at least they animated it so it was clear Guel knew how to fence but Suletta was just floundering. He’s the ultimate supporter of lesbians and I love him for that. Please G-Witch, give him a boyfriend. Also Guel slapping himself to remind himself not to butt in on SuleMio’s affairs, lol.
- The talk between Suletta and Miorine with slash playing in the background was just *chef’s kiss* perfect. Right or wrong, and even if there’s nothing to gain, Suletta wants to move forward. And she wants to move forward with Miorine. They have to face their problems head on. They lock fingers, willing to move on together.
- Guess they didn’t have the money for Delling’s VA. But it is nice to see a realistic depiction of a coma patient. Though I’m not sure if he appreciates being yelled at after he wakes up
- What is Prospera searching for? It can’t be the Calibarn. Is it something special Notrette made? And who removed it?
- What deal did she make with Shaddiq? Is she taking his harem squad? Did she plan to work with him on Earth?
- The fact that the tomato is literally embedded with love in its very DNA is beautiful. The tomato has always represented love in this series, and here we see that it’s very creation was because of Miorine’s mother’s love for her.
- Poor Suletta is struggling hard in that Gundam, but also it’s the coolest suit in the show so far. IT HAS A FREAKING BROOM. SHE IS LITERALLY THE WITCH FROM MERCURY. RECLAIM THE SLUR
- Suletta is talented. Aerial used to overshadow as we didn’t know how much handholding Eri was doing, but this proves she’s great even without it. But I don’t think it’ll be enough to defeat Eri all by herself. She needs others to help her. They all need to come together and create a better future!
- Lauda, my son, please stop this. We are destroying the Death Star right now. Have your angst moment later. And dear god don’t make your brother kill you, and don’t die of heatstroke like a dog in a car with the Schwarzette. I’ve seen some people say Guel might die but I reject that reality. After all the suffering he’s been out through, he needs to live.
I feel like we’re in a weird space where there both could and couldn’t be a second half. We have a lot to wrap up, but also we’re closing up Suletta and Miorine’s personal journeys. Though I hope we do get the second half and have it focus on Earth and the Space League. And maybe we’ll get to kill Peil while we’re at it

Hihihi 💕
tw!! mentions of death
I see you’re playing this game and I think I have a solid idea of something you could do (if you ever want to, really). So, walk with me on this — have you read They Both Die In The End? If you haven’t, it’s a mlm story in which everyone gets a call 24 hours before they die so that they can make amends, have any final adventures and such. There’s also an app/website called Last Friend (or something like that). Both of the main characters make accounts on this app and find each other and spend the last day of their lives together just growing and gaining new perspectives of the world.
Anyways, if you haven’t read the book, you should because it’s SO good. And if you have, doesn’t this plot just remind you of Chan a little bit? Like we know this man is a workaholic, and I feel like if we lived in a world like the book where we know a day in advance that we’ll die, it might prompt him to actually go out and do something for himself instead of someone else like the sweetie pie he is. Like I just picture so much angst, and yet he’ll have the best day of his life with his Last Friend and do things he’s either never done or hasn’t done in forever.
I’m not sure if this is the type of plot you pictured when you started this game 💀 but I thought of this and thought of you and had to share!
hii green !! ^-^
i actually read that book a while ago and i have such a complicated relationship with it, but i wont delve into my quite controversial i think?? opinion about it😭
BUT the idea itself is so so good and youre so right !! i can totally picture a scenario with chan and i actually might think about it and try to write it one day hehe~
also dont worry, i love these kinds of ideas !! tbh im kind of scared to write about more serious stuff bc i dont want to trigger anyone, but maybe one day i'll write this one bc its sooo good like omg, your creativity never ceases to amaze me............
I wish you would write a fic where...

MAG 154 Relisten
Activity on my first listen: apple cutting + sitting thrilled on the couch.
Ah yes, I remember it so clearly when I heard that episode the first time. I was almost done cutting apples, but I didn't quite feel satisfied after MAG 152 and 153, those are statement that were a bit subtle for me. So I thought "Okay, I'll give one more episode a shot" (even though the episode title didn't sound particularly interest-piquing) and then it’s a Gertrude tape and I had some problems following a lot of Gertrude statements before, I don't know, her voice makes me sleepy xD And I was already prepared to drift away during this episode again and felt a bit demotivated. But I kept going. Well, best fucking decision ever. As soon as I realized she's reading from the Catalogue of the Trapped Dead I was like "Ohhhhh!"
JON: "And I started to pay attention to the ones I… wasn’t drawn to. The tapes I instinctively wanted to discard." That's very clever, go against what the Eye wants!
JON: "There was one, this one, that my hand… pulled back from. I dropped it, twice, when I went to pick it up." Lol, that actually sounds funny. Like "Whoops! I dropped it... Woaa, dropped it again, ahaha, clumsy me."
JON: "I am the avatar of awful knowledge and revealed secrets." Oh Jon, you theater kid!
GERTRUDE: "“When he opened his eyes, he of course saw nothing" Ok, she already read that part and still couldn't guess what was necessary to quit. Already talked about this in MAG 111 - because of this I think those memory-ghosts of the Catalogue work like the appearances of people plugged into the Matrix, a mental projection of their self. How they most liked seeing themselves. So when it comes to depicting Book!Eric, I think he'd still have intact eyes. Cause he says he "destroyed them completely", I can't imagine how one could not see that, if the appearance is the same as in the moment of death.
I love how similar Eric and Gerry sound, and I don't think it's because of the ghostly echo. After all, we do have a recording of Gerry without that effect. Very good VA choice!
ERIC: "I know that I’m not really Eric; I’m just a memory someone wrote down. It hurts, most of the time." Primarily it's probably meant to be an effect of the Catalogue's nature, of the Fears just doing their job. But I guess the knowledge of not actually being you also makes it weird and uncomfortable. Sometimes I think about that, like what are we anyway? Isn't the memory of oneself's entire life basically what makes one that particular person (+ hardwired personality probably)? Because it still matters on which hardware we run. Otherwise, how would we explain body dysphoria?
ERIC: "You too. (beat) You got old." GERTRUDE: "Better than being dead." ERIC: (short sigh of a laugh) "Fair enough. To be honest, I’m impressed, more than anything. Hard to get old in this business. You either die, or you, uh, stay young. (short, uncomfortable pause) …How did Mary look?" GERTRUDE: (same sort of short laugh) "She got old, too." Well, let's see, this is in 2008. My educated guess from MAG 35 was that Gerry was born sometime around 1983 or 1984. Perhaaaps 1985 when we'll go with the most extreme numbers from MAG 35. We don't know when exactly Mary killed Eric, Eric says he left the Archives months before she killed him. So, Eric died.. what? 1984 or 1985? So he hasn't seen Gertrude in over 20 years! He probably saw Mary a few times since she summoned him to bounce off ideas of him. But even if she kept doing that for a few years and then stopped, 15 years would still be a long time with visible changes^^
ERIC: "And Gerry? Have you seen my son?" Nawwww... He actually calls him Gerry, like he always wanted friends (and probably loved ones) to call him.
ERIC: "Yeah, it doesn’t feel great. But being dead, I s’pose you don’t feel things quite as strongly. Little bit – flat." Ha, flat like a piece of paper!
ERIC: "Elias? Elias Bouchard, seriously?!" GERTRUDE: "Hm, he’s changed a lot." <.<
GERTRUDE: "So. What did they not want me to know?" ERIC: "I quit." GERTRUDE: "You – Sorry, you quit?" ERIC: "Yeah. I figured out how." Well, on my first listen I was sitting at the edge of the sofa at that point, staring wide-eyed at the TMA logo in the YT video on screen.
ERIC: "You know, you were never actually all that nice to me when I worked for you, Gertrude. Not like Michael, or Emma." Hahahaha, very good, let her dangle a bit! I'd like to say I'd do the same but I know that in the end I never want to give people, one: what they did to me, and two: something they could hold against me in return.
Eric: "I don’t know what she saw in me, not really." Not-really counter of S4: 20!
ERIC: "You were almost there, you know, with your theory that James could watch us from any eye, even an illustration. What did you do? How did you sever that link?" GERTRUDE: "My God!" Yeah, at that point I said "Fuuuuck" out loud... My spouse was sitting on the couch next to me was like ?? and I just kept saying "Fuck" over and over again. First: Eyes are one of the body parts I find the most horrific... I can watch every body horror torture splatter movie without problems but when it's about eyes... Fuck off! If I'd be in that position I'd be like "Yeah, you know what, I actually like the Archives! Screw that, y'all go ahead and do what you must do, but keep me out of it." Second, I love moments like this in fiction! The last one like this I remember was when I read The Last Wish (The Witcher) by Sapkowski, specifically The Lesser Evil. When that innkeeper (or whatever that guy was) explained what happened in Tridam and it dawned on me what Renfri was about to do (just like it dawned on Geralt in that moment. I love having the same reaction like characters. When I can discover huge things alongside them).
[TAPE CLICKS ON.] [JON SIGHS HEAVILY.] JON: "Fuck." [TAPE CLICKS OFF.] Yah, same...
JON: "I know. I know what you said, but I just – (inhale) I think I’ve found a way for us to leave the Institute." [BRIEF PAUSE.] MARTIN: "O-kay…?" JON: "Yeah. But it’s – (heavy inhale) It’s pretty drastic." MARTIN: (hah) "What, you going to gouge your eyes out, or something?" [BEAT.] MARTIN: (gets it) "Fuck off!" Such an iconic piece of dialogue xD
MARTIN: "Erm… like, I mean… permanently? Or…" This has the same energy as answering "In general?" to the question of "Haven't seen a dog, have you?"... Those idiots^^
JON: "But we could leave here, you and me. Escape." Eeek <3
JON: (squawk) "Uh, I, I don’t know. I don’t – know. But… maybe it’s worth it? The risk – y-you and me, together, getting out of here –" [MARTIN SNIFFS.] JON: "– one way or another." MARTIN: "Jon." Double Eeeek <3
So what's going on here has a name, URST or UST. It stands for UnResolved Sexual Tension, although I don't like that term cause it's just as well used for unresolved romantic tension. Especially when we're talking about a couple with an ace character, or when it's used in a show for minors about minors (Miraculous is a textbook example). So basically it's a trope to keep suspense going on by having all kinds of obstacles to keep the love interests from actually getting together, usually also having them pine after each other over and over again + once in a while giving them a scene in which it looks like they finally get somewhere. Full disclosure: I'm a sucker for that trope. I loved that in Inu Yasha, I love this in Miraculous (although it's getting a bit destroyed by all the What-if-episodes with a subsequent time reset or memory wipe) and of course I love it in TMA.
JON: "I mean, whatever their plan is for me, I am damn sure that doing that isn’t it. I’d derail everything – we could derail everything, and then just – leave!" Time travel fix-it for TMA is extremely difficult because you basically have these powerful forces which had it all planned out. I think there are actually two points in TMA where it could really take a very different turn. One of them is here. If Jon blinds himself, he won't belong to the Eye anymore and can't complete the ritual. And given what Annabelle says in MAG 197 it sounds like Jon will even survive being cut off from the Eye. (There’s of course still the problem of just going ahead with a new Archivist, so it’s only a temporary resolve...)
MARTIN: "Nothing; It’s just – (one more laugh) It’s just ironic, that’s all." That's totally in the sense of "At any time before taking Peter's deal I would have run away with you in a heartbeat. But back then you never came to me and now when you do it's me who won't do it"-ironic, right?

When you were young, the elders of your town used to tell you about their life in old age. You watched them grow old as you did yourself, watched them live their lives in harmony with one another, and you yearned for something like that, knowing the life you had lived was worth it, was full.
So, when you realized that there was no way off of this ship, well, it had hit you like a sack of bricks.
It was weird, you had to admit, the feeling of knowing death.
You knew the risk of a mission like this, of getting caught, of your cover being blown. You were taken onto a First Order ship after the transmission of battle plans was traced back to you, back to your dodgy alias that you, in retrospect, should have spent more time on.
But at least you weren’t alone.
You were sent on this mission alongside one Poe Dameron, who went undercover with the luxury of a trooper helmet (he was the poster boy after all), and once they found you, it was not difficult to locate the faulty trooper in the bunch.
You both had been taken under custody and thrown in a cell of white to live out what little time you had left, and maybe it was a newcomer who had been sent to deliver you to your new home, or maybe it was by the grace of the Maker themselves, but you two had been stuck in together.
You two had known each other for a decent amount of time, though you couldn’t pinpoint just how much time that really might be. He was the head of Black Squadron, a squadron which you managed to get a place in yourself. You had grown quite close over that time, to the extent where you might even call him a friend.
It was hard to have friends in a war.
You had fought well together, like a ‘well-oiled machine’ some would say. You could undergo maneuvers without a word being exchanged, you were the ideal dream team when it came to pilots. So, it was a bit unnerving to hear that you two would be sent undercover. Thinking about it now, surrounded by walls of white that looked back at you with a metallic sneer, you knew that the mission was doomed from the start.
His heavy breathing drew you out of your trance.
“I keep thinking that there’s some way we can get out of this.” Whether said shaky breaths were from the pain of breathing through cracked ribs, tears, or a mixture, you couldn’t tell.
“We’ll try to escape this, don’t you worry flyboy, we always do.” Another thing that was weird--he was always the optimist in these situations, not you. But if he needed you to be his happiness, then you would do it.
You would do nearly anything for him, and you reckoned that he would do the same.
You felt the back of his head lean against the back of yours and thought that he might have closed his eyes. Mirroring his actions, you felt comfort in knowing that you weren’t alone, as kriffed up as that sounded. After all, to die whilst lonely is to die with the worst pain of all.
“I don’t think we can, Black-six” your callsign. “The Force was never one with either of us after all, huh.” His voice held something you had never heard before, a pang you decided you didn’t like.
“The Force has always been between the both of us, Poe. You can’t lose hope like that now, you out of everyone know how hope can mean all the difference.”
You could hear a sound that mixed between a chuckle and a scoff. “You sound like Leia.”
A beat bounced in the small space around you.
“Do you think she knows?” You called out to the air in front of you.
Another beat followed before he answered. “Yeah, she has a way of knowing these things. Especially when it deals with her son.”
Ah yes, Kylo Ren. He was the one who personally wanted to execute the both of you, which to some extent was an accomplishment in itself. You two managed to get on the nerves and radar of the newest Vader-reject, a thought which was quite amusing to you. You could joke about it now, you had to joke about it now, because it wouldn’t be much of a laughing matter when the red humming of his saber would be pointed at your throats.
Your breathing had started to quicken, and he must have noticed this, as you felt his hand reach behind his back to grasp yours. You yourself were never one for physical touch, but this was an exception, he was an exception. You could feel the shake of his hand as he held it, the warmth spreading throughout your wrist and arm.
You squeezed.
He squeezed back.
A tear silently slipped down your face at the reality of the situation at hand.
You guys weren’t going to make it out of this.
And you knew that the Force coursed somewhere between the two of you, it had to, because when he spoke again that charm of his had returned. Yeah, maybe it was all for show, but you were okay with that.
“Say we do make it out of this, yeah? Say we make it out and we win the war, what would you do?”
You didn’t quite know what to make of his question, so when you felt the squeeze of his hand again, you shrugged. “What do you mean?”
He took a deep breath of the filtered air. “I mean what would you like to do? I personally always wanted to go back to my home planet, visit my old town, say hi to those who remember me.” He paused. “What would you do?”
It took you a minute to respond, and when you did, it came out quiet. “I don’t have a home planet to return to.” You could feel your eyes fight with threatening tears. “I think I would like to find one though, a new home. One with beautiful sunsets, that’s for sure, and a comfortable climate would be nice. Find myself a hut, settle down and have some animals to accompany me.”
You could feel him cock his head to one side. “By yourself?”
You shrugged again. “I mean, I’ve never really had anyone before, so I don’t see why not. It would be nice to have someone there too, I guess I’ve never thought about it before. I don’t have anyone though, I’m not that close to anyone really.” A cough erupted from you, rattling your sore bones. They had harmed the both of you before they threw you in this white-walled prison, to prevent any resistance.
“Well, when we get back, I’m going to go back to my droid and you’re going to go find that person. Friend, partner, begrudging enemy, whatever, yeah?”
You shook your head in response. “No thanks, I’m not that good at making good impressions with new people.”
He turned his head towards yours and you could almost feel his pain, both emotional and physical. His voice could just barely be heard over the pounding in your ears and head. “I’ll do it, I’ll watch the sunset with you. On Yavin IV, they’re luxurious, you would love it.”
You turned your head to match his. “You promise?”
You could hear the bittersweet smile as he spoke. “With my everything.”
“Poe, I don’t want to die.”
Not soon after your words was there a pounding into the door that held you two captive, and for a small second hope visited again. It was drained instantly as the horde of stormtroopers marched in, ordering you two to get up. Tears streamed down your cheeks, and once you had been moved to a standing position you noticed Poe’s face was blotchy, tears running down his too.
He continued on like you were conversing at the caf after a day of flying. “Bee-Bee always wanted to see us together. We’ll have a little room for them in the house. They won’t have to joke anymore when they call us their parents.” A pressure against your back made its presence known, the tip of the blaster searing into your clothes and skin. You shared a panicked look with Poe, and he grasped your hand even tighter, it now slightly shaking.
“Separate yourselves.” The modulator that the trooper spoke through was low, and in response, you side-stepped closer to Poe.
You chuckled sourly. “What are you going to do, kill us?”
It was ironic at this point.
As you were escorted out of the room, you saw that you two meant enough to have a guard of troopers, which you knew would root a little pride in the both of you. Your footsteps echoed in the empty hallway, save for your group. “I’ve always wanted to have a library, could we have a library, Poe?”
"We’ll have a magnificent library, full of books from every corner of the galaxy.” You walked closer to whatever would wait for you at the end of this. It was terrifying, but you had begun to accept it.
You shut your eyelids momentarily, letting a wave of cold wash over you, and that’s when you heard it. Your name.
Your actual name.
Sure, you had nicknames and callsigns in the resistance, but you never told anyone your official name, and that’s when any remaining walls you had fell to ruins.
“I don’t want to die either.”
Another squeeze of his hand. You continued speaking through both of your fears. “And we’ll steal an x-wing, for you, your favourite one. You can fly it anywhere and everywhere. It’ll be yours.”
You came to a halt. The doors hissed open before you, and you turned your body to face his, him doing the same. “We’ll have dinner by the stars every night.”
You were being pushed into the room now, and you knew it was happening soon. Kylo turned the attention to him and started speaking, words muffled by unimportance. He dragged the two of you forward with nothing but a raised arm and you closed your eyes, holding onto Poe’s hand like it was your last hope.
“Together?” He murmured, just so you could hear.
The saber ignited.
“Together.” You reassured.

SONGS FOR STUILLY. AGAIN. ‼️ [saying this now, a lot of these lyrics are toxic as all hell, but so is stuilly, so it checks out-]
• Let’s kill tonight [panic at the disco] [this songs repeats a lot so-]
“You’re the galantine. Cold and alone, it suits you well.”
Stu as he talks about/to Billy.
“Let’s kill tonight, kill tonight. Show them all you’re not the ordinary type.”
This could go either way with these two.
• Stockholm Syndrome [Muse]
“I won’t stand in your way, let your hatred grow.”
Stu talking to Billy after what Maureen did.
“And she’ll scream, and she’ll shout, and she’ll pray. And she had a name- yeah she had a name.”
Also about Maureen, could either be Stu or Billy tbh
“This is the last time I’ll abandon you. And this is, the last time I’ll forget you.”
Billy as he speaks to Stu [I think of the kitchen scene..]
“And we’ll love, and we’ll hate, and we’ll die. All to no avail.”
Either one of them, after the kitchen scene
• This is Love [Air traffic Controller]
“You’re no good you’re no good, you could kill me and you should.”
Stu speaking to Billy.
“You must like being the victim, you’ve done nothing to get out.”
Billy at Stu.
“You’ll forgive me if I promise, and do nothing but the same.”
Also Billy at Stu
“Yeah I know wrong I know right, but I just love to pick a fight. I can sleep with one eye open, if there’s any sleep at night.”
Billy coded again
“I got my knife, got my gun. Let’s see how fast you can run.”
Billy speaking to Stu, because he would absolutely mess with Stu in the Ghostface costume
“I was good but then I quit. Everyone that tried to fix me, knows that I can’t change a bit.”
Billy coded
“I’ve got no shame, got no pride. Only skeletons to hide.”
Hmm either one of em tbf-
“Yeah once you think you’re in control, you’ll believe that we are partners and you’ll feel comfortable. Oh then the darkness rolls in and you’ll forget who I have been.”
Billy to Stu, kitchen scene.
• Psycho [Muse]
“Love, it will get you nowhere.”
Stu coded.
“Come to me now, I could use someone like you. Someone who’ll kill on my command, and asks no questions.”
Billy getting Stu to help him commit to the murders
“I’m gonna make you, I’m gonna break you, I’m gonna make you- a fucking psycho.”
Billy coded
“Your mind is just a program and I’m the virus.”
Billy coded again
“And you will kill on my command and I won’t be responsible.”
Billy when he has Stu commit a good portion of the murders
“I’m gonna make you, a fucking psycho- your ass belongs to me now.”
Billy coded
“You fucking psycho, your ass belongs to me now.”
Also Billy coded
• The Handler [Muse]
“You are my handler, I will execute your demands”
Stu following Billy
“Leave me alone, I must disassociate from you”
Billy in return to Stu
• Wolves without Teeth [Of Monsters and Men]
"Open my chest and colour my spine. I'm giving you all"
Stu showing his devotion to Billy.
"Swallow my breath, And take what is mine. I'm giving you all"
devotion
"I'll be the blood, If you'll be the bones."
could be seen as compromise- still devotion though
"Haunt me in my sleep. You'll sailing from another world, Sinking in my sea."
"You're feeding on my energy, I'm letting go of it"
"I can see through you, We are the same. It's perfectly strange. You run in my veins. How can I keep you, Inside my lungs. I breathe what is yours, You breathe what is mine"
Stu as he knows who/what billy is, and he's not off putted because he loves it.
• Partners in Crime [Set it Off] [self explanatory.]
"You'll never takes us alive, We swore that death will do us part. They'll call our crimes a work of art"
"This, the tale of, reckless love. Living a life of crime on the run"
"And if the heat comes close enough to burn, Then we'll play with fire."
"This is the night the young love died, Buried at each others side. You never took us alive, We swore that death would do us part"
[reblogs appreciated but not at all forced! <3]

hello again! I asked last time about PVE stuff but I guess I’ll do it again. Although I’m sure no major characters will die, out of all the cast in PVE who do you think will likely “die” or get close it it? If you think that at all. Personally I feel like a supporting character may get the chopping block but we’ll have to see
(also ramattra might be in a little trouble)
Alright so I have answered this question before PvE came out I have some changed thoughts because of the updates to the lore so I may as well update what I think!
Let's start off with the characters I think will get close to death/have a fake out;
Efi, though I don't think she'll actually die I think there will at least be one close call for her, as I stated before I read her and Mina as parallels so I definitely think we could see that in something nearly killing her. Also Doomfist holds a grudge against her and Orisa so yeah that's fun to think about-
Cassidy, I think he'll have a fake out, there are already so death flags for him in the journals but there too obvious for them to be true death flags. Not only that but Cassidy dying would kind of spoil his arc, he's the first character in canon to go through a redemption arc, him dying would not bode well for other characters possible redemption. There is also the fact that he's an Ana parallel so he's either going to have a fake out death or he's loosing an eye.
Winston, A big part of his arc seems to be realizing that the old Overwatch wasn't that great, realizing how dangerous everything was. I think he's almost going to die in a fight with Doomfist, a rematch between them before the final battle.
Emily, we already know that she's currently in a bunker in London, somewhere that is always being attacked and where tensions are high. Not only that but a lot of people (including me) see Emily as a parallel to Amelie. So though I don't think anything physically will happen to her, I do think it'll come close.
Now for the characters I think are going to die;
Doomfist and Moira, they're the main villains (if they don't reveal that to be The Conspiracy), so it makes sense for them to be killed off. We've also seen them try and lock Doomfist up. So even though they could go with the arrest route with Moira, I doubt they could do that again with Doomfist. Not only that but in terms of what we've seen in canon, they're incapable of change. In contrast to the other Talon members who know they're doing bad things, Doomfist and Moira genuinly believe what they are doing is for the benefit of humanity. Soooo, no possible redemption there, can't help someone who doesn't want to be helped.
Reaper, it's either going to be a final sacrifice or he's going to be killed by Cassidy, either way I don't think he's living to the end of the story. A big part of Reaper's story is being a cautionary tale, so him dying would be fitting to that theme he has.
Reinhardt and Sojourn, they are both older members of OW, they are both also very much loved members of OW, them dying would very much hit the other characters still not fully realising that yes, this is a war, not a reunion. Specifically for Rein I think he'll die saving Brig and Bastion, it's already been set up with the PvE missions. I do think Sojo has a chance of surviving but considering she's in the mentor role and has her life figured out.... yeah that's a narrative death sentence, not only that but her death would motivate characters like Winston and Cassidy to step up as leaders.
I definitely have more but these are the major ones for now. Hope you all cried as hard as I did while writing this!

Angels & Demons, Chapter 13
Word Count: 2.2k
Warnings: threats of death/hunger, mentions of violence/murder, knife violence, thoughts of suicide, angst.
Tumblr media
“Sam Winchester has to die.”  Anna frowned.  Cas shook his head as she took a step forward, “I’m sorry, but we have no choice.  He’s Lucifer’s vessel.”
“He’s not the only one.”
“What?  That guy Nick?” she scoffed, “he’s burning away as we speak.  No.  Sam is the only vessel that matters.  You know what that means.  If Lucifer can’t take Sam, his whole plan short circuits.”
Cas looked at her warily, knowing that the woman he loved could also be an alternate vessel for Lucifer, “Anna-“
“No,” she argued, brushing him off, “no fight with Michael.  No Croatoan virus, the horsemen go back to their day jobs!”
He paused, not able to tell her about Caitlyn, “if you could kill Sam, Satan would just bring him back to life!”
“Not after I scatter his cells across the universe,” she smiled, “they’ll never find him-not all of him.”
“We’ll find another way.”
“How’s that going?” she asked, “how’s the colt working out?  Or the search for God?  Is anything working?  If you want to stop the devil, this is how!”
“The answer is still no,” he argued, thinking about how that would put Caitlyn in Lucifer’s sights as his next vessel, “because Sam is my friend.”
“You’ve changed.”
“Maybe too late,” he wondered, “but maybe I have.  Anna, you and I have been through so much together, but you come near Sam Winchester, and I’ll kill you!”
Without another word she vanished, not ready to argue the conversation any further.  Deep down, Cas had a dark feeling about it all.  He’d never known Anna to just give up.
XX
“You have to stop!”
The man in the wheelchair eyed his niece without judgement, “Aria…it’s been so long since I have seen you.  Come, come closer.”
“I’m close enough!” she said shortly, “you know why I’m here.”
“Oh, but of course.  You’re rearing to go when dear old daddy either kicks the bucket or finishes off the earth with the rest of us!” he smiled, “coming to learn the family business…but you’ve visited the wrong horseman my dear.”
“You can see inside me…you know that’s not why.”
He chuckled, “look around child.  Everyone is hungry for something.  Those Winchesters…their angel.  Everyone has something.  And I have a plan for them.  The demons that Dahlia’s father leant me are just cannon fodder for Sam…his hunger for demon blood will reach a fever pitch soon enough.  And the angel, Castiel…while angels may not crave things, his vessel will.  And the demons have already found that weakness and alerted me to the fact that it is red meat.  The only piece missing from the puzzle is what does good old Dean Winchester feel hunger for.”
“Nothing!” she replied smartly, “just like the demons protecting you, Dean has died before which is why he won’t have a hunger.  He’s spent time in hell.  He’s not going to have the same hunger that anyone else would have.”
“You-you are a smart one,” he chuckled, lifting a long, bony finger and pointing it at her, “you are a Nephilim worth keeping, you.  And even though you are but a child in the eyes of us old timers, and you already know how to play the game.”
“I’m not playing any games, famine,” she growled, “leave this town.  Go back to whatever pit you crawled out of.  The apocal-“
“The apocalypse is just getting started,” the old man cackled.  He pushed the button forward on his scooter, moving him closer to Aria, “MY TIME IS JUST GETTING STARTED!  AND I’M GETTING STRONGER EVERY DAY!”
“WELL, THAT ENDS NOW!”
“You can think that all you want, but that doesn’t make it true.”
The doors to the kitchen burst open and Aria was surprised to see Cas at the back of the restaurant.  He’d had the demon blade in his hands and looked beyond unsure of himself.
“Castiel…you’re here!  And right on time as exected!” Famine smiled, breaking away from the conversation with his niece, “that must mean that the Winchesters are nearby.”
“You must leave, Famine.”
“I must not do anything,” Famine chuckled hoarsely, “but I can sense what you need, Castiel.  I can feed your hunger.   Or at least, that of your vessel.”
He looked at one of the demons, and they produced a pan of red meat.  Nervously, they tossed the pan a few feet from him; and the angel, unable to control himself, dropped to his knees and began to dig into it.
“Uncle-“
“This is what I am, Aria…this is what I do!” he reminded her, “I am hungry…and my hunger shall be satisfied with the apocalypse.  With the souls of those who succumb to me.”
“You won’t get away with it!”
“I will, dear niece…” he sighed, “oh, but I will.”
Tumblr media
Famine looked at Dean, bewildered.
He’d seen the memory, had seen the only thing that Dean had hungered for.  Or at least, what he had hungered for in Aria’s mind.
“Alright, here’s the rules,” Bobby grunted with a nervous look to the two older kids, and his eight-year-old daughter, “Dean…Sam…Hannah, Dahlia won the last round and is on the hunt with John.  Now, the three of us are here, and I’m going on a low-grade ghost hunt when he comes back.  But I need the three of you to be prepared for anything.”
“Piece of cake,” sixteen-year-old Dean scoffed, “I’m fighting a twelve-year-old and an eight year old.  This isn’t even fair.”
“Sometimes it ain’t about the age of the hunter, Dean,” Bobby chuckled as he slapped Dean upside the head, “Dahlia is Sam’s age, and she beat you out last round-“
“Dad likes Dahlia better than me, that’s why,” Dean grumbled, “she’s a know-it-all suck-up and he picked her because of that, not her skills.”
“You’re just mad because she had a better shot than you, Dean…and dad needed someone that was focused for the vampire hunt!”
Dean glared at his younger brother, “yeah.  Whatever.  Let’s just get this started so I can kick your butts and me and Bobby can take on that ghost.”
“You’re going down!” the eight-year-old said with a glare as she looked between the two older boys.
“Yeah, whatever, pipsqueak.”
She frowned and looked back to Bobby, “same tests?  Shooting gallery and obstacle courses?  Other hunters pretending to be a ghoul?”
Bobby messed with his daughter’s hair, “actually Hannah…the three of you are going to go out into them woods with the dabbers.  The one that comes out alive, gets to go on the hunt with me.”
“That’s it?” Dean asked, his brow cocking, “all I have to do is knock out Hannah and Sam?”
“Well, I’m gonna blindfold the three of ya, and drop you off somewhere in the woods.  It’s going to be your jobs to track each other down and take each other out.”
“Cool!” Hannah grinned.
“I don’t know, Bobby…what if something’s out there.”
“What’s gonna be out in the woods by my place, Sam?” Bobby laughed, “dang idjit.  Now come on kids.  Grab your dabbers and a blindfold and get in the truck.  Gotta drop the three of you off before it gets dark.”
“Hunger doesn’t just come from the body,” Famine mused, “it also comes from the soul!”
“it’s funny,” Dean chuckled dryly, “it doesn’t seem to be coming from mine.”
“Yes…I noticed that.  Have you wondered why that is?” he asked, before sparing a glance at his niece, “How you could even walk in my presence?”
Dean’s eyes shifted over to Aria, “Hannah!”
She looked away from him.
“Aren’t you going to tell him why that is, Aria?”
“Aria?” Dean scoffed, “who the hell is Aria?”
“Tell him why he can stand to be in my presence, Aria.”
“Well, I’d like to think it’s because of my strength of character!” Dean tried to joke, “but more importantly, why is he calling you by another name?  Who the hell is Aria?”
Hannah felt the worry in her core as she looked down at the scene below.
While Dean had managed to track Sam down and take him out, he hadn’t expected her to be up in the trees, already tracking him.
But right as she’d been about to drop down on him, she’d caught onto something else that had been tracking him.
A young wolf.
And it had managed to get the drop in him before she could warn him.
But she’d still had the drop on the both of them from her sneakiness in the trees.
Dean was doing his best fighting the werewolf off.  But it was too strong.
And with every flex of his claws, and every swing of his arms, he was getting even closer to catching the eldest Winchester and infecting him.
So, with tears in her eyes, she pulled her trusty silver knife from her thigh, the blade nearly as long as it, and she found the perfect time to drop down.
The wolf had swung his arm at Dean, but missed, taking a chunk out of one of the trees instead.  And she had dropped down, her blade driving right at the juncture of his neck, between the collar bone, and assuredly into the creature’s heart.
It howled in pain, throwing the small child off of it, but the damage was too late.
As Hannah tumbled to the ground, and the wolf collapsed not far away, she was surprised to see the elder Winchester staring at her in disbelief.
“Hannah!”  he called, “Hannah, wake up!”
Shakily, she reached into her jacket, and Dean cradled her.
“Come on, kid.  Don’t die on me!”
“Got ya!” the eight-year-old whispered as she dabbed a bright red splotch over his heart, “i-I win!”
“You nearly got killed by a flea bag and you’re worried about some stupid game?”
She giggled, coughing as her lungs felt heavy, “Dean…I-I think I broke something.”
“You probably broke a few ribs…” he muttered, looking off to the wolf that had already reverted back to its human form, “you got the flare Bobby gave you?”  I shot mine at the ground as a distraction for Sam…”
She nodded, reaching into her pocket to hand over the flare gun to the teenager holding her.
“Here.”
“Aright…don’t move, okay?” he asked, “I’m gonna shoot it in the air, and we’re gonna wait for your dad…”
“Dean…no…if there’s more.”
He frowned, “What do you expect me to do?”
“Carry me?” she begged, “w-we can’t be far from the house…head North…”
Dean looked up at the sky, and she laughed a little more, holding onto her ribs and wincing after the pain hit her, “North is that way, Dean…”
“Right…” he nodded, getting up and already starting on the journey to Bobby’s, “hey-uh…thanks for saving my life, Hannah…”
“Of course, Dean…”
“Yes, I see,” he chuckled, “that one deep dark nothing, you got there, Dean.  Can’t fill it, can you?  Not with food or drink, or even sex.”
“You’re so full of crap!” Dean grunted.
“Oh, you can smirk and joke and lie to your brother,” he sighed, “lie to yourself, but not to me.  I can see it inside you, Dean.  I can see how broken you are.  How defeated.  You can’t win and you know it but you just keep fighting, just…keep going through the motions.  You’re not hungry, Dean…because inside…you’re already…dead.  Do you know why I allowed you in here though?  Why I captured you?”
“Why?”
“Because I had to show my niece,” he said, throwing a glance in her direction, “that this is what happens when you fall in love with a human.  She’s the daughter of death, and she’s sucked dry most of her powers by making sure if you ever come in contact with me…with her father…that you’re protected.  That you’ll survive…do you know the gift that she’s given you?  The advantage to stop the apocalypse which your family started?”
Dean looked over to Aria.  His nose twitched, and he felt the sting of the tears that wanted to fall down his face.
“What did you do to me?” he asked.
“I took your pain away,” she admitted solemnly, “I made sure that if you came back, they wouldn’t have one over on you…”
“WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?” he roared.
“Dean…”
“That’s enough,” Famine hissed, looking at Aria once more, “you’ve seen what you’ve done…but he still lost anyways…go…tend to your father, niece.  You gave him your power when it comes to me, but I know if you’re here any longer you’ll give in to your hunger…and your father would never forgive me for that!”
“Wh-what’s her hunger?” Dean asked nervously.
He saw her shift uncomfortably and famine frowned, “she knows that she’s disappointed you Dean.  Her hunger is that she wants to earn your praise…your love…that never changed.  As long as she’s known you she’s tried to do what she could to have you see her as a strong woman.  As a potential suitor.  And I can sense just how far she feels from it.  If my men let her go, she’d take that knife on the floor and slit her own throat, ear to ear, because she knows you see her as a monster; and monsters deserve to die in your eyes.  Niece…leave now…today is not the day you die.  I refuse to let that happen.”
