So, I did a poll for Silver pairs (twice) and have been meaning to give my own thoughts but started writing essays before I realized; wait a minute, I don’t need to do that. I can just give my basic opinion. I don't need to justify or over explain, so here we go!
Notes:
*Long post
*twst spoilers
*Opinion-based
*Rambles
Silver x Sebek (Silbek) was, voted #1, to the surprise of no one I’m sure.
Personally, Silbek isn’t my cup of tea and I prefer them in a platonic sense. On top of that, I’m not a big fan of childhood friend romance. It just—annoys me intensely and there are very few instances where this trope works for me. (It may because I’ve been exposed to too many Hallmark romances with this trope and in other media.)
There are a few other minor things I don’t like about the ship, but they’re not worth mentioning.
That being said, I can see why others love the pair.
They have enough opposites to be interesting, such as Sebek being loud, emotional, always active, abrasive, and even arrogant at times, while Silver is quiet, stoic, sleeping—through no fault of his own—and humble. Yet both share a lot in common as well:
They place family above all else, are loyal but keep to their morals, and are helpful and kind.
Plus, in the canon, we see how much they love and care for each other. Sebek is always there to pull Silver out of his own head and sort out his insecurities, as seen when Silver worried about his lack of emotion, when the other Diasomnia students weren’t listening, and—more recently—Chapter 7 and the revelation.
They understand each other, make up for one another’s weaknesses, and more. So, while it’s not my personal ship, I’m not surprised it was voted #1 and can admit it deserves its placement.
So, fun fact; when I did the poll the first time, this pair was the winner. I remember that as I was super surprised. And I’m still a bit surprised they’re #2.
Granted, they’re cute, but I assumed the pair would be in third place behind Silver x Sebek and Silver x Idia, as I don’t see much content between the two
That being said, it does surprise me that this puppy pair has so many fans;
They share the same morals and are cute together, plus, they’re friends in Canon. Also, Silver admits that Kalim is someone very dear to him, and Kalim is always saying nice things about the other. As a bonus, Kalim is already favored by the father-in-law.
I see these two as being the type that are in a relationship before they know they’re in a relationship. They're holding hands, eating together, and going on outings. Neither of them realizes what they’re doing until someone points it out. Even then, they’re confused for a while.
The downside is that while their relationship would help each other grow and change, it wouldn’t be one that could last long-term.
Silver’s dream is to serve Malleus in Briar Valley, a place he loves and where the people he loves live. His dream is to foster peace between the fae and humans.
Kalim, on the other hand, has a responsibility to take over as head, and it’s not one he can just toss aside, and I don’t think he wants to either.
When I think of the outcome of their relationship, I think of this Bojack quote: “I think there are people that help you become the person that you end up being, and you can be grateful for them even if they were never meant to be in your life forever.”
Silver and Kalim would help each other grow, but they wouldn’t be in each other’s lives forever, at least not as lovers. But in fanfiction, anything could happen. And I would love to see more fanfics of the pair and the challenges they would face.
Third, we have Silver x Idia, a personal favorite of mine. I love the two as individuals and squee whenever I see them together. To me, their interactions are a lot of fun, as I like seeing Idia deal with Silver’s “odd” attitude towards things.
On the surface, the two have nothing in common. Idia is shy, while Silver is bold. Silver is determined to the end, and Idia thinks it’s best to not even try. Idia is a tactician, and Silver is a warrior. Idia was raised around technology, and Silver was raised by nature. Idia is weaker than a kitten, and Silver is strong as heck. (How strong? I have no idea.) The list goes on.
Yet, while they are opposites in several ways, their differences just highlight the good they bring out in each other, or could.
On top of that, the few things they do have in common are pretty strong.
I like that they seem to admire each other. Silver genuinely admires Idia’s skills and isn’t afraid to tell him. He often compliments Idia and offers praise, though he does go overboard, which can make her shy.
For his part, while Silver can be too much at a time, Idia admires Silver’s beauty and skills, comparing him to things he finds cool, like ninjas. Both seem interested in the other, though Idia acts in denial.
Both value family to the point where it’s their main character arc. I love that Ortho likes Silver while Lilia and Idia get along online. The in-laws approve!
They also share a deep sense of insecurity about themselves. Idia thinks he is worthless, to the point where all he can do is hide away, mainly due to a tragic event in the past. Silver believes he’s a burden to those around him, and he does all he can to repay those he has troubled. It would be nice if these two could help one another see their own self-worth.
On top of that, I really believe that of all the Silver pairs, aside from Silbek, these two have the best chance to work out in the long run.
If things go well and Idia can break his family curse, he would be instrumental as Malleus’ tech advisor (probably the first) and could bring Briar Valley into the modern age.
And if he can’t and has to work at STYX, Idia and Silver could still work, as both could maintain a long-distance relationship.
Silver was often left behind as a child, and with technology, they could communicate whenever they wanted and visit when they could. On top of that, both have the temperament needed for a long-distance relationship to work.
The problem is that thanks to Idia’s personality, it would be hard for the two to get together in the first place. (His theme song would be “I won’t say I’m in love” as he sails down the river of De Nile.)
Silver would have to realize his feelings first and do most of the leg work in a way that wouldn’t scare Idia off. (That or Ortho and Lilia would have to play cupid.) Regardless, it would be a very slow burn, but I think once they got together, the two could be happy. And once they were together not even the powers of hell would break them up as both are EXTREMELY stubborn. (Another commonality.)
One problem I do have is that, even if they were together, Silver would most likely be doing most of the emotional labor, as Idia is too self-defeatist to do anything. Luckily, Silver’s pretty low-maintenance, and I'm sure Idia would step up if Silver really needed support.
If I had the time and energy I could write an essay on these two, but for now I’ll just say I really love these two and while they’re not #1 on the poll, they’re #1 for me.
The next is Silver x Malleus. My feelings for this ship are complicated.
I like how their personalities mesh, their shared family history, the drama, and all the works that make a ship memerable. Honesty, two have many, many things I like in a ship. There’s just one HUGE problem that keeps me from loving them: Malleus helped raise Silver.
Malleus was there when Silver was a baby and played an active role in raising him--My brain can’t get past that.
When I try to ignore it, my mind can’t help but slide to, “Shit, is this grooming territory?” (It's not unless the fic has Malleus raising Silver with the intent to have sex with him. Even so, there’s a lot of yikes, you know?) But then again, I overthink things, a lot.
That being said, I still find the pairing entertaining.
For one, it’s an interesting pair to explore human and fae dynamics, as well as the blue and orange morality that comes with it. Like when a vampire falls in love with a human. And again, there’s all the stuff I mentioned before.
I’m also really curious how Lilia would react to the relationship. This something I’ve never seen a Silver x Malleus ship bring up, but they should as Lilia is a HUGE part of both their lives. Isn’t anyone else a bit curious?
I don’t think Lilia would be a supporter of the relationship for multiple reasons, so what would he do? How far would he go to keep the two apart? And how far would the two fight him? (The angst potential, man! THE ANGST!)
In a yandere Malleus setup, would Lilia try to run away from his beloved Prince? Would he take up arms against him to keep Silver safe? Would he be able to do anything? Or would he just be helpless as the dragon he hatched takes away his beloved son forever? It just has a lot of potential story-wise, which I adore.
It’s a nice ship to explore darker themes but If I wanna skip those and just have a cute ship, I just find Aus where Malleus didn’t help raise Silver.
So to conclude this part, while I prefer them in a platonic sense I can’t deny that I have an interest in the stories they could tell.
Silver x Riddle; I never thought of these two, but now that I am, I think the two would be like Silbek without the childhood element. I like that Silver would have no issue standing up to Riddle when he started acting like a tyrant and would stop him before it went too far, yet he would always be there to offer support, especially emotional support, which Riddle desperately needs.
On his side, Riddle could help Silver improve himself, such as in how he presents himself, his studies, and his magic. He may even help Silver overcome his habit of talking down about himself.
I think the romance would be a slow burn due to Silver being oblivious and Riddle being a tsundere in denial who refuses to admit his emotions until they overflow. It could be fun to see Riddle drowning and being jealous of anyone near Silver until Trey and Ace have enough and set the two up.
Other than that, I don’t have too much to say.
SilJade is one I forgot to put on the first poll, but one that I like in casual passing for one-shots. To me, Jade is the bad boy that Silver could end up with. I enjoy how Jade is usually sweet toward Silver in canon. While he has his own reasons, he does nice things for Silver and helps him. I also think it’s cute how Silver’s purity surprises him at times. It’s a cute pair for me and I like to imagine them kissing under toadstools.
A pairing that got a mention but wasn’t on the last poll is Silcarter. I don’t think I’ve seen the two interact too much, but I can see Silver operating as a home to Carter, who never got to settle down in the past, and Carter can help Silver in a social setting like Kalim. It’s also neat to see his energy contrast against Silver’s. Other than that, I don’t think much about the pair.
Next have Silver and Leona. (Sileo?)
While in canon Leona is annoyed by Silver, I like the concept of the two.
Personality-wise, there are opposites, but in a low-key way. The only thing they have in common is that they sleep a lot, and even that’s an opposite between them.
Leona chooses to be lazy. Everyone and their mother sees he’s got talent for practically everything but he chooses not to do anything because he never get the role HE wants, which is to be King of Sunset Savanna. So, he choose to be be lazy and just rest all the time. However, Silver doesn’t have a choice.
Silver tries his best to be active and stay awake, but because of his “blessing” he struggles in all that he does.
I really like the contrast between the two. It’s entertaining to see Silver’s earnest and pure nature against the grumpy cat that is Leona and I think, if allowed to develop, they could have an interesting relationship. I can see Leona constantly being a bit annoyed but gradually coming around and may even try to help the other in subtle ways.
There’s also a possible drama plot where Leona wants to be with Silver, but Silver is devoted to Malleus as a guard, resulting in Leona’s insecurities activating as, once again, he can’t have what he desires because another has it. He can’t be Savana’s king, nor could he be Silver’s king.
Like I’ve said with others, it’s hard for me to explain but I like the potential here.
Tied for last are Silver x Jamil and Silver x Azul. Let’s look at SilJam first.
I love how their personalities contrast and how, despite the fact they’re in similar positions, they feel very differently.
Silver is honored to be Malleus’ guard, while Jamil is resentful that he has to serve Kalim. The difference is simple but major. Silver CHOSE to serve Malleus and Jamil only serves Kalim because of family obligations. It’s a single difference that changes everything for the two.
I think it would be fun to explore the two and their dynamics as they grow from each other.
I REALLY enjoyed during the Halloween arc how they worked together and how, for the first time, someone was interested in Silver and his history. I don’t think anyone other than Idia showed an interest in Silver, though correct me if I’m wrong. And even then, Idia seemed more interested in Silver’s dad than him.
I also enjoyed how Silver respected Jamil’s efforts and how he made sure Jamil got the recognition he deserved in the end. Considering how overlooked Jamil usually feels, this was a sweet moment for me.
Not to mention, it was fun to see how Jamil reacted to Silver’s air-headed moments and how he had to work around Silver’s honest nature, though unlike with Kalim, he didn’t seem too annoyed by it. (Of course, they don’t have the complicated power dynamics between them, so that may be why, but I digress.)
I mean, it’s hard for me to explain how much I enjoyed seeing these two together in the Halloween Event. They show an interest and appreciation for one another, I love how Silver baffles Jamil at times and so on.
And, of course, I see story potential! (Yes, this is a big part of why I pick ships. I can’t help it, I like stories!)
A fanfic plot I like is two versions of the love triangle. (Yes, I like these IF done well.) One is where, at first, Silver likes Kalim, who likes Jamil, who likes Silver. Another is that both Kalim and Jamil like Silver, who’s oblivious. Either way, this feeds into Jamil’s resentments, creating drama that could end a victory for him if Silver chooses him in the end.
That being said, the only way these two could have a future is if Silver leaves Briar Valley, as Jamil wants to travel, see the world, and be free. He doesn’t want to stay in one place.
This pair is one I think of when I want Silver to venture beyond all he knows and see the world. To be something more than a royal guard and expand his horizons.
He could still work for Briar Valley by becoming a diplomat alongside Jamil, so he could still embody Lilia’s teachings and fulfill his dreams for peace, but they would still have to leave the Diasomnia fam.
Now on to Azul x Silver (AzuSil? SilAzu?). This is another pairing I believe has potential.
These two are opposites in EVERY way. One is a pure angel of heaven, and one is Azul of the deep. Silver is strong, honest, kind, and does everything for the benefit of others. Azul is as weak as a guppy, cunning, and manipulative, and he does everything for his own benefit.
However, their interactions did light a spark in my brain and I like the pairing of the “devil” trying to charm an “angel.”
The contrast between the two are intriguing and I’m facinated by the idea of these two coming together to make a couple. I think having someone like Silver in his life would help Azul as he could realize not everyone wants something from him and some genuinely just want to help others.
Not to mention fanfic-wise they work SO many ways;
There’s the redemption arc that Silver could provide for Azul--Beauty and the Beast AU, under the sea edition, anybody? No? Oh, come on—as well yandere Azul when the mood strikes, Lilia vs Azul for Silver, and more.
Though I acknowledge these two would probably never work in canon as there Azul is looking for an intellectual partner, I still have a soft spot for them.
Recently, I was asked about SilRook, so I’ll share my opinion here:
First off, my gutter brain found it interesting that Rook appreciates that Silver can “sleep” anywhere, lol.
In a way, I see some potential for fun between these two and think that Rook would hold a lot of surprises for Silver and would help the latter find things to appreciate about himself. Other than that, it seems like it would mainly be Rook being odd or showering appreciation for Silver and Silver going, “Um, okay?” The main entertainment would be from the "in-laws,” as Lilia and Malleus don’t seem fond of Rook.
Rook would be a fun yandere for a fanfic, but otherwise doesn’t do much for me. Still, there’s fun to be had with the two if a writer’s willing to put in the effort.
Another pair that got a special mention was SilYuu. I didn’t put this on the poll as it’s basically Silver x OC as Yuu can be interpreted many way.
If we go off “canon” Yuu, however, they’re still cute but are definitely a “quiet” pairing. And I mean that figuratively and literally due to the fact neither talks much.
I don’t see them as an out-there, exciting couple, but they don’t need to be. Silver can be Yuu’s shelter from the madness of Twisted Wonderland and a safe-port in the storm. It’s difficult to explain, but when I see these two, I see a very tranquil pair with the feeling of a warm afternoon, napping in the son till the kids and grampa start making noise.
And I think that’s it!
I’m sure some of you noticed that most of these are based on the stories I think they could produce, but I can’t help it. I like stories, so when I look at a pairing I think how well they get on together and what tales can they create together. That’s how my brain works, which is why I’m a fic writer.
I guess it’s cheating as I base my ships on potential and what I THINK they could be rather than what they are, but eh.
Anyway, my personal ranking of all the Silver Ships mentioned here are thus;
Love: Silver x Idia, Jamil x Silver
Really like: Silver x Azul, Silver x Kalim, Silver x Malleus with a huge "it's complicated mark"
Like: Silver x Jade, Silver x Leona, Silver x Riddle, Silver x Canon Yuu
Meh/Don’t care for: Silver x Rook, Silver Carter
Not for me: Silver x Sebek
So, how about all of you? What’s your favorite pairing for Silver, and why? I would especially love to hear why people like Silver x Kalim, as, despite it being voted so high, I don’t see a lot of content for the two, so I don’t know why they’re so popular. Is it really just because they’re both sweet angels? Or do you see something else that you like?

Dangerous romance 7/10 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Tumblr media
Lists I’d Put It In: So much potential, Sports, Slice of Life
Review: There is a lot of things I like about dangerous romance but the cons makes it so that I’d likely not watch it again.
Pros the actors main and side were fan fucking tastic. Perth can be so intimidating bratty sexy and on the other hand just a sweet little puppy. I love how funny he made Kang just adding flare. Chimon baby of OffGun of course I watched this show mainly for him. Sailom is basically a hop skip and jump away from Wave from the gifted Sassy Smart Secertly extremely caring and gushy. I’m hoping Chimon’s roles always involve sass it’s his signature. GIVE PAPANG AND PEPPER A BIGGER BL ROLE AND VIEWJUNE ALL OF MY MONEY. MarcPawin really surprised me as well I wasn’t expecting much because I just watched my gear your gown. The grandma was precious. Euro and JJ were great comic relief I wish there had been more of them. I wish there was more I made a post before this 12th ep saying how I’d fix the series in detail. So I’m gonna boil it down here. The ships should have been more interlocked with eachother. The editing made the show boring. Why did we have so many flashbacks and lingering shots. I love a pretty scene but they took so long and we needed extra interlocking scenes for all the ships. Ugh I can see how this show would have been great with just a few changes which makes it so frustrating. Anyways more about the ships after the break
Tumblr media
First Perth and Chimon are not at fault for this I’m talking about editing and story. I adore KangSailom they had good potential but it felt like it got every trope imaginable enemies to lovers, poor boy rich boy, long standing unexplainable secret crush from childhood, tutor student, redemption arc, misunderstanding. AND YET IT FELT WEAK BECAUSE OF THE EDITING AND LACK OF OTHER CHARACTERS INTERACTION UNTIL THE VERY END.
Meanwhile audiences kept getting tiny precious glimpses of WONDERFUL side ships.
Tumblr media
GuyNawa Idiot Sport boy for Idiot Sport boy with injury, enemies to lovers (really fully enemies), long standing crush was so incredibly beautiful and effective. I probably won’t have liked their plot too if it had been drawn out because I would have been missing the other side characters but what we got for them was perfect I’d rewatch their scenes again. I was much more impressed by MarcPawin this time I hope they get another series their kiss was thru the roof. They give me strong Sports Anime vibes made me miss Haikyuu.
Tumblr media
Saifah and Name had the most potential to be a 10/10 ship. Papang and Pepper definitely need their flowers because the show didn’t give them a lot to work with. Their characters and storylines should have been worked in from the beginning. I wanted to want to cry for Saifah when he was taken away. I wanted to want Name to stay safe as he tried to protect Sailom and Saifah. But I felt like it was so rushed. We barely got to see what these characters had. But everything we did was leaning towards greatness a big brother who has done wrong in the past to get by trying to do ANYTHING for his brother even tho he’s in over his head and a bit of an idiot and mafia guy who sees his highschool friend again falls in love but is offered shit choices all around to his enviable conclusion and redemption. If only we had gotten them sooner and worked into Sailom’s plot more. I’m telling you it would have been stunning. I can see the vision.
Tumblr media
I really love Pimfah. She is… a great female character. I talked about it already but great lesbian energy. I wish I had more. I wish Pimfah could have been worked more smoothly into Kang’s storyline after he decided to go after Sailom. The student teacher was precious. She is going to make a great teacher. I wish we got a spin off of what happens in London. But sadly the ship just didn’t have enough screen time.
I might rewatch the GuyNawa scenes again but the rest is probably a skip.
Bonus: Strangest kiss in the bathroom award goes to….

💌🧸 Brother's Best Friend
A/N: Got this request a while ago and now I'm wondering why I've never written this trope before bc this was so fun??? Lmk how you liked it! x
genre: optional bias (m) x reader (f), smut, size/strength kink??, choking, dom!bias (it’s kinda playful tho), brother's best friend!au, sneaking around, play fighting, lowkey getting caught but not directly?
words: ~ 4.1 k
disclaimer: I don’t mean for the age gap to be gigantic…I’m talking about anything from 1-2 years maximum tbh!!! Anything else would be weird and I’m not about that! They’re also both obviously consenting adults!
[H/N means 'his (bias) name']
In youreyes, your first meeting had been a disaster. The new spider man movie had been released only days ago, and you were adamant on seeing it. And to your luck, your older brother and his best friend had already made plans to watch it together. As a little sister, you were treated like the baby of the family, and it didn’t matter that you were far from being an infant anymore. So naturally, your brother had been condemned by your parents to bring you along. He declared his distaste in your presence by attempting to ignore you, but you were used to that. Just like you were aware of his bad moods, you knew he could change within minutes and magically turn into the sweetest, most caring big brother you could wish for.
Whatever. You didn’t need his approval to enjoy the trip to the movie theater, you told yourself. Had it not been for his best friend, who you hadn’t seen in ages. H/N and you had never properly spoken before, and the last time you saw him he had been an awkward, prepubescent boy who had appeared at your door to pick up your brother for a playdate. There was no trace of immaturity now. Instead, it was you who had morphed into an awkward, shy mess at the sight of him.
His ‘hello’ had a warm and deep melody to it which swooped you up in his aura so suddenly, you had no time to prepare. Had his smile always been this stupidly charming? Hell, it was so bright, you had to meticulously inspect the ground every time he sent a grin your way. When before you hadn’t felt guilty for being a bother, you now sure did. What impression would you leave, trailing behind the older boys like a lost puppy? What would he take you for? The annoying little sister who didn’t have friends of her own? The mood-killer, who wouldn’t understand any of the boys’ inside jokes? The anti-social, weird girl who was obsessed with fictional men, like people loved to belittle teenage girls with normal interests?
As things turned out, his initial opinion of you was quite the opposite. If only you could have spied into his brain, it would have saved you a landslide of worry. Although your brother took up all of H/N’s attention before the movie started, he noticed you a good amount. To be precise, you blew him away at first sight. Your cute laugh won him over in a matter of seconds and he liked that your merch sweater could have been stolen straight out of his own closet. He didn’t want to feel too smug, but the way you diverted your eyes away from him whenever he looked in your direction only boosted his confidence further.
Your brother might have warned him. Stay away from her. She’s off limits for you. But not a thousand vicious, older brothers could have kept him from trying to get to you. It was up to you, after all, whether you wanted him around or not, and not to your brother. From that day on, H/N didn’t skip out on a chance to see you, even if it meant merely an exchange of a few words, or a simple greeting. And to his luck, you turned out to be equally as enraptured by him.
There was something about the untouchable, the forbidden, that attracted him to you even more. Plus, you were simply too precious to forget about. One morning, you dropped off a beanie at his place, which he had left at your house after meeting with your big brother the previous day. When he had asked if he could drive you to school as a thank you, you happily accepted. You had marked that day as the first day of your new life. First, it was harmless flirting. To be honest, you were under the impression he was merely messing with you. Because you were the cute little sister of his best friend. Because you would turn into an awkward shell of a person who had lost all ability to articulate, and your cheeks would burn as if they were on fire, whenever he charmed you.
But the flirting slowly reached newer levels, and before you knew it you were discussing your sexual fantasies over text messages and giving him bedroom eyes as you opened the front door for him. “H/N’s here!” you would then shout to your big brother. Then you would watch the two boys walk off to your brother’s room, pondering why life had to be this way for you. It wasn’t fair. Siblings were supposed to share, right? Why did you have to wait your turn until after midnight, when no one would notice, to spend time with H/N?
But to H/N, the sneaking around in the middle of the night and the secret messages you sent to each other, it all added to the excitement. Surely, there were days on which he wished he could just break the truth to your brother. The impact it could have on their friendship was enough intimidation for him to refrain, though. Things were better off this way, for now.
Today was no exception to your usual lies. When your brother asked if you would go out with him to do some shopping, you had played the victim and feigned a stomachache. Your parents wouldn’t be home all weekend. You’d have been stupid to waste a perfect opportunity like that. Who knew when you could have H/N in your bed the next time? Normally, you were restricted to his car, or to his bed in the dark of night. Yes, those places had something enticing at first glance. But the backseat of a car was only enjoyable for so many clandestine meetings. So today you notified him of your golden opportunity before your brother had even walked out the door.
The moment H/N texted you that he was outside your home, you opened the front door and dragged him to your room.
“Are you in control today, little one?” he asked, closing the bedroom door after you.
“Why are you asking that?” you replied, not wanting to talk at all but rather do so much more productive things.
“I don’t know…perhaps because you haven’t let me say a word since I came through the door,” he said.
“Right. Maybe I’m planning on tying you up, blindfolding you, and torturing you with ice and wax,” you joked in a casual tone, despite not usually requesting such graphic ideas.
“I don’t know if I’d let you do that,” he grinned with raised eyebrows. “Besides, I know you’d rather be at the receiving end of that. It’s a sweet idea, though. If we had some more time…”
“Think you could get away from me if I tied you up?” you said, but he was towering over you with the calmness of a king who knew he reigned over the situation.
“We both know I’m stronger than you, doll,” he said. You didn’t like it when boys called you weak. But you’d let it slide, knowing he was only joking and would never underestimate you outside of the bedroom. He put his lips right up to yours, so you felt his breath on them. His fingers came up to cup your face, but then slowly inched to your neck. When they closed around your neck, putting the slightest amount of pressure on your skin, you whimpered quietly.
“Need reminding?” he asked. As much pent-up frustration you had, and as much as your stomach was flipping upside down from how badly you needed him, you just had to play with him. You knew it would make for more fun.
“I think- “ you started, with a grin. Then you grabbed him by the front of his shirt and pushed him backwards, until he was stumbling. Although caught off guard, he was quick to pull you along with him as he fell onto your bed. You landed on top of him with a small squeal.
“Go on, let’s see who can throw the other off the bed first,” he teased with a superiority that only spurred you on. Then again, you would always be in the mood for the oldest childhood game you had ever known. Only now it wasn’t your brother, but his best friend you were playing against. It added a layer of excitement, and after only seconds, giggles had overtaken you as you struggled in his grip.
“No tickling is allowed,” you said. He nodded obediently with a smirk that told you he might not abide by your rules.
At first, you had attempted to hold him down by his arms. But your legs tangled, and he pushed his chest up against yours, like he was about to flip you over. Your plan seemed to be working only momentarily. You groaned a little as he grabbed your wrists swiftly and held his stance against your attempt to pull his upper body to the side.
“Cute,” he said. That’s when you realized, he was barely struggling, barely trying, even. While you were giving your most, he smirked like he was watching a kitten trying to fight a lion. It was child’s play to him, keeping you in check. Literally. With an annoying expression of amusement on his face, he let you have the upper hand for a while. Then, as if you had never had an ounce of advantage, he turned it around and pulled you into him. His eyes suggested he might just send you tumbling down onto the floor any moment now. Nonetheless, you weren’t going to give up so easily. Taking your chances, you let go of his arms and moved sideways, so you could have your go at pushing him towards the edge of the mattress.
“I don’t think so,” he said. Suddenly, he bear-hugged your body and rolled you both over. Before you could protest or defend yourself, your arm was dangling off the side of your bed and if you had moved a tiny bit further, you would have slid off the bedsheets and right onto your carpet. It was his turn to straddle you now. As if his actions hadn’t been enough declarations of his strength, he pinned your wrists to the bed above your head and gave you a challenging smirk.
“I was going to let you win, doll. But you weren’t trying hard enough,” he said. “What are you going to do about it?”
What were you going to do? He had you completely immobilized. “Just let it go, then. We get it, you’re super strong and super big and the coolest,” you said.
He seemed to take an instant liking to your declaration. “Say it again. This time minus the eye-rolling, sugar.”
“You’re stronger than me,” you said, trying to avoid the laughter that was threatening to come out. Could he read in your gaze how badly you wanted him to kiss you already? If he could, he wasn’t acting on it. Instead, he bent to the crook of your neck and spoke.
“Does it turn you on that I can overpower you?” his breath fanned your ear and you had to close your eyes to control yourself.
“Yes. Because I trust you,” you answered truthfully. The corner of his lips curled into a cocky grin.
“You know what? I think I’d rather you stay in bed with me instead of throwing you on the floor. There’s so many things we can do up here, isn’t that right, little one?” His lips brushed over your cheek and then over your lips as he spoke. The nickname had always made you weak in the knees and he knew it. When he finally enveloped your lips in a kiss, you swore you could feel an electric spark jump between the two of you. The mellowness of it turned into hunger rapidly, and as soon as his tongue flicked over your bottom lip, you whimpered like you hadn’t seen him in a year.
“Needy, are we?” he asked, running his hand up your sides and underneath your shirt. He could say that again. “Let’s get these off, then.”
The seconds in which you pulled off your clothes and couldn’t hang on his lips and feel his skin on your body should have been considered a form of torture in itself. Then, time always went by so much slower than usually.
When you had both shed off your clothes, he climbed back on top of you. Instead of straddling your hips he was now resting between your legs. There was nothing separating you from him, and it was apparent not only through the body heat that radiated off him. He reached down and whilst peppering kisses on your chest, slid his fingers through your slick arousal that was pooling in your core.
“You’re so wet,” he said in surprise, but couldn’t hide his approval and self-confidence in his voice.
“I know,” you said, rolling your eyes but simultaneously fighting the urge to moan at the smallest of touches he was teasing your with. “I’m so horny. Can’t we skip foreplay?”
“Poor doll,” he said. “I should’ve come over earlier, huh?”
“You know that wasn’t possible,” you said. With a desperate look, you pleaded him silently.
“I wanna taste you,” he said, but your put your hand on his cheek softly.
“Maybe later?” you said. “Please, I need to have you inside of me. Now.”
“You’re extra cute when you’re this needy,” he smiled. “Are there still condoms in your nightstand?”
You nodded and had never moved so fast to open a drawer in your life. Pretending to have any patience left, you waited for him to roll on the rubber.
“I love the way you look at me,” he said. “When you’re waiting for me. Could watch you for hours.”
“God, I hope you won’t. Come here, please?” you replied, making him chuckle. He lined himself up with your core, but then made no inclination to move ahead. His dark eyes and little head tilt told you everything.
“Don’t mess with me anymore,” you whined, reaching for the back of his neck to pull him closer. “Do it. H/N.”
“Beg for it.” His words twisted something in the pit of your stomach. Although you were burning with hunger, you could never say no to him. Then again, you were curious to see what would happen if you did.
“What if I don’t? Don’t you want to fuck me as much as I want it?” you challenged him. Something glinted in his eyes, and you knew you shouldn’t have even brought it up.
“I can always do this,” he said, and you followed his eyes down his body and to where he had wrapped his hand around his cock. Slowly, he jerked himself off, and you weren’t sure he was biting his lip because of the feeling or to discompose you. His small sigh should’ve been caused by you. This wasn’t what you had wanted. His tip was right by your slit. He could’ve pushed his length in so easily, and yet he wasn’t. Debating what to say, you kept your eyes trained on his hard member that looked so delicious in his hands. His deep groans rang in your ears. It didn’t take long for you to cave.
“Fuck. That should be me around you,” you said. “That should be my pussy you’re fucking and not your hands. Please.”
“Isn’t that right?” he said.
“Yes. Please, fuck me. I would feel so much better than your hands, and you know it. Please,” you whined. “I need you right now H/N. Please.”
You added another ‘please’ – for good measure – because the way his tongue darted out and licked his smirking lips could make you say anything if it would get him to fuck you.
“It’s okay, I’ll take care of you,” he said. “Think you can take me?”
“Yes, yes-, I can! Please, fuck me,” you said in a waterfall of words, and he chuckled handsomely.
“Good girl,” he said, running a gentle hand over your head. “If it’s too much you let me know.”
“As always.”
The tip of his cock gently pushed into your core, making you hold your breath as he entered you slowly. It caused you to feel every inch with every second. Your brain felt fuzzy, and you sighed gratefully at the relief.
“Fuck, you’re so perfect,” he moaned. The carefulness in his thrusts paired with his moon eyes at you only remained that way for a few seconds. Then, he straightened up and grabbed your hips to drag you in closer. You moaned helplessly when he almost pulled out completely, so slowly it almost made you crazy, only to slam his length into you until his tip brushed against the deepest spot inside of you. It was an action he repeated over and over, until you were reduced to a puddle of desperate whimpers, and you clasped the bedsheets in your hands tightly.
“You like it this way, little one?” he asked. He was apparently finding enjoyment in your reaction. How you could barely keep your eyes open, and when you did, your eyeballs threatened to roll to the back of your head. How your fingers clenched around the closest plushie, and you cradled it against your chest in bliss.
“Yes- fuck,” you said. “Feels so good.”
Of course, right as you said this, he had to change things up. His thrusts turned lazy and messy as he leaned backwards slightly. With an equally lazy demeanor, his thumb flicked over your clit, rubbing circles on it.
“Let me hear you. Say my name,” he said, and you quietly moaned his name. You adored the way it sounded, voiced like this, with barely more than a breath underneath your soft tone. Now and then, his cock slipped out of you, making you clench around nothing and furthermore had you going completely out of your mind. When he would push himself into your opening again, it felt as if it was the first time he was entering you today. Except you felt it repeatedly, each time as incredible as the previous. Your mouth hung open, rendered speechless except for the little moans and whimpers sounding from your throat. There was a familiar knot beginning to form in your stomach, tying firmer with each passing minute.
As if he could read your mind, he decided then he was done with his sweet torture of teasing you to an orgasm. You couldn’t be mad at him, though, because what he had planned was just as perfect, if not better. His hands wandered to their original place on your sides, and he began to snap his hips into yours at a faster pace. A small cry of surprise left your lips, while he only smirked at you through heavy-lidded eyes. Impulsively, you lifted your legs a little, intensifying the feeling of his member roughly dragging through your velvet walls.
“H/N, I’m so close,” you whimpered.
“Me too,” he replied, not slowing down for a second.
His broad frame towering over your body was a sight you would never get enough of and his gazes at you were hot enough that they could have stopped your heart in its tracks. A few strands of hair stuck to his forehead and there was a thin sheet of sweat on his neck. It all just made him more breathtaking to you. The slight pain from his nails digging into the skin on your waist was staggering, and you could barely wait to see the masterpiece of marks he would leave tonight.
You were a moaning mess, flying on cloud nine and simultaneously overwhelmed by his treatment of you. It clouded your mind at took over your whole body like you were made for him to fuck you. His length filled up your tight hole and he did it with such force that your whole body rocked into your mattress in a steady, fast-paced rhythm. He let go of your waist then and supported himself on his arm by the side of your head. When his other hand went to your neck you shuddered in anticipation.
“You should see yourself with my hand around your throat,” he said. “So pretty, little one.”
“We can do it in front of a mirror sometime- ,” you suggested, but were cut off at the end of the sentence as his fingers tightened on your neck. Instantly, the effect of it hit you. The lack of oxygen made your head swim in a sea of pleasure and the unrelenting desire to come. Through fluttering eyelids, you peeked up at him. The way he licked his lips and then clenched his jaw, the gorgeous shape of his collarbones and shoulders – you sometimes wondered if he was even real. Every so often he loosened his grip on you. When he did, you took gulps of air and then instantly whined for him to choke you again.
“Let go for me,” he said. “Show me your pretty face when I make you come. I’m fucking you well, aren’t I?”
You nodded as well as you could when he was gripping your throat and you couldn’t breathe properly at the moment. It didn’t matter you couldn’t talk. He was probably not expecting you to answer, either way. In a pleasure-induced trance, you closed your eyes and let it happen, like he had asked it from you. Your hazy consciousness barely registered that he was reaching his high with you. Too overcome were you, with your thighs trembling uncontrollably and your back arching off the mattress. He had let go of your neck and was riding out his own orgasm with sloppy thrusts that only sent you into another frenzy and had you whimpering his name softly. When he had finished too, he slowed down and pulled you into a gentle kiss, rubbing his nose against yours sweetly.
“That was amazing,” he said, and with a blissful hum you nodded. Your lips changed into a pout when he rolled off you and got up. You were tired of sending him back home so quickly. As he discarded the condom in the bin, you put on your most enchanting eyes, so he would have no other choice.
“Stay a little longer, please,” you asked. You knew he wanted to, as well. So although he was aware that your brother could return at any moment, he tumbled back into bed with you.
“Just for a little while,” he said. “Mhm…you’re so perfect to cuddle, baby.” His embrace was warm and his scent comforting, as he hummed a lovely melody. The soft touch of his fingers running through your hair lulled you right into a light sleep. You were awoken rather abruptly, and with half a heart attack.
“Hey Y/N, have you seen my charger- “ your brother’s voice suddenly broke through the silence and you wondered if you would have to pack up and leave the country after this sort of embarrassment.
“It’s not what it looks like,” you said, knowing well enough it was the dumbest thing you could have said. But who could blame you? You had only woken up two seconds ago.
“Really?” your brother asked. “Because I hear H/N sneak into our house so often lately, I’m starting to wonder if his parents threw him out.”
His tone was surprisingly calm.
“I’m sorry. I should’ve told you,” H/N said to your brother. “I thought you’d hate me and that we’d be over as friends.”
“I know I told you once to leave Y/N alone. But now…I guess it’s cool. She’s been in a great mood lately, and if that’s thanks to you, I think I can approve of you two. Although I’m not looking forward to being a third wheel, I think I can get used to it if I try hard enough,” your brother said. You couldn’t believe your ears, and involuntarily smiled like a fool. No more hiding. No more secrets.
“I stole your charger. I’m sorry,” you said then, making your brother roll his eyes. “It’s by the sofa in the living room.”
“Great. I needed a reason to leave anyway,” your brother said. “I might approve of you, but this situation is still too awkward. I’ll see you tomorrow, then, H/N?”
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” the boy in your bed said.
“You’ll see me too!” you added as a joke, as your brother already walked away from the door.
“Unfortunately I will!” your brother shouted, with the unnerving tone only a big brother could possibly muster.

rules
warnings: fluff and maybe some angst
Tsukishima Kei
Tumblr media
-You moved next to the Tsukishimas when you were 6.
-You weren’t the most social bean at that age so your mom had t give you a slight push to make friends.
-That’s why she would always invite people over with kids around your age so you could play.
-Once you moved things didn’t really change.
-She invited the Tsukishimas over and you got to know their kids.
-Akiteru was intimidating to you.
-He was so open and talkative it made you anxious.
-Kei on the other hand was more calm, always giving you enough space so you could approach him when YOU wanted and he would invite you over to play with his dinosaurs in silence.
-Like complete silence.
-His mother always wondered if you two were alive.
-You were inseparable though.
-It was the first time in you whole life that you clicked with someone so easily and could actually interact.
-Kei, being the salty bitch that he is, pushed you out of your comfort zone once you began school.
-He would help you in class with refusing to ask a question for you or he would make you order your own lunch in the school’s cafeteria.
-You still had trouble talking to other kids though and Tsukki didn’t mind.
-He was okay with having you stick around and may have been slightly terrified at the idea of losing the only friend he had.
-He would never admit that though.
-The first time you talked on your own accord to some of your classmates was when you saw three boys mocking another one who was laying on the ground.
-He was trying to grab his backpack from the taller boy.
-You looked at Kei and he just continued walking sparring only a glance at the commotion.
-You couldn’t just let them pick on the boy though.
-You used to be picked on and Kei would always scare them off and so you puffed out your chest and marched over to the boys.
- “Hey! Leave him alone!!”
-You were surprised at your own voice but kept your ground as the three boys glared at you.
- “Isn’t that the girl that doesn’t talk?”
- “Yeah I heard she’s mute!!!”
-All of them snickered and pushed the other boy to the ground again.
-He was looking at you with wide eyes as the bullies made their way to you.
- “What do you want mute?”
-Your knees started to feel weak as your fear set in and the words you wanted to say caught in your throat.
-Your mind was screaming at you to call for Tsukki but you couldn’t turn your head around.
-Every single part of your body was frozen.
-The bullies kept laughing and making fun of you as you backed away when you back hit something warm but steady.
-Looking up you were met by none other than Kei himself.
-He told them off with his snarky comments and helped you calm down.
-Then grabbing your hand he started walking not glancing at the other boy.
-Years passed and now all of you are friends.
-A dynamic trio.
-Everything was going great.
-You were all into volleyball, practicing together both in school and out.
-Kei would no longer take you to his room and play with dinos.
-You two would go on for hours on end playing volleyball in his back yard, until his brother got home and he would be infatuated by his brother’s practice stories.
-He really looked up to him.
-Then the fateful game happened.
-Kei’s image of his brother was shattered.
-And so was the boy you met all those years ago.
-He didn’t particularly push you away he was just more distant.
-He had raised so many walls to protect himself he had become cold.
-But you didn’t leave and neither did Yamaguchi.
-You remained friends all the way to high school.
-Being part of the volleyball club was a must for the two and you told them that you were there to support them.
-When Kiyoko came to you and Yachi for the manager positions you immediately accepted, excited to spend more time with you boys.
-During the practice camp in Tokyo, you overheard his argument with Yamaguchi and were disappointed in him.
-How could he be so cold towards his best friend when all he was trying to do was help?
-You went to talk to him too but ended up fighting and it was pretty bad.
-He was angry you would see that more angry than you expected but you thought that it would be different if you talked to him.
-You had been there for everything after all.
- “Kei you can trust me, I’ve bee by your side since forever. I know YOU.”
- “You don’t know shit Y/N so why don’t you go back with the others? Aren’t you a manager or something? Do your damn job and leave me alone!”
-You were stunned at that, not believing what had come out of his mouth.
-You obliged though and without another word you left.
-You two weren’t on speaking terms for weeks.
-It had gotten to the point that you wouldn’t hang out with the two boys during lunch.
-As time passed you would greet each other but nothing else.
-That is until the match with Ushijima happened.
-You were up in the stands with Yachi when Tsukki tried to block the ball.
-He doubled in on himself, clutching his hand and you had never ran faster in your life.
-He was taken out of the court when you reached him and coach Ukai gave you the okay to take him to the back to patch up.
-You sat in silence in front of him as you wrapped his fingers with the gauze.
-His head was hanging low and you could see his shoulders tremble as he breathed.
-When you were done, you placed your palms on each cheek and lifted his head.
- “You’re going to go out there and you’re going to show him what you are made of. You will show him what Tsukishima Kei is capable off. Okay?”
-He looked at you with wide eyes before nodding and placing his own hand over yours.
-With a shy smile you went to get up but he pulled you into him, crashing his lips with yours.
-The kiss was too short for your liking as you were being rushed due to the game but he put all his feeling into it and you reciprocated with as much passion as him.
- “I missed you, let’s not fight again.”
- “I’ll consider it after the match, no go kick some ass.”
-Tsukki’s blocks were three times more accurate than before and then it happened.
-He blocked Ushijima’s spike successfully.
-The scream he let out shook you to the core and when his eyes scanned the stands, landing on you, you knew how happy he was.
-Post victory celebrations have never been sweeter.
Ushijima Wakatoshi
Tumblr media
-He met you because of Tendou.
-Um you were a Tendou yourself after all.
-When he met Satori he didn’t believe him when he said that he had a twin.
-He assumed that it was just some of Sato’s weird shit.
-Satori would go on and on about his twin telling him how cool and smart she was and how he couldn’t wait for her to come and join them in Shiritorizawa.
-Again Ushiwake didn’t really believe him.
-That is until one day, a month after school started, he met her.
-He and Satori were jogging when they heard a high pitched squeal followed by a SATORIIIIIII.
-Next thing he knew Satori was no longer next to him but laying face first on the ground with another person on top of him.
- “Y/N- chaaaan you’re suffocating me!!!!!”
-The girl got off him and pulled him to his feet only to crush him in a hug.
-Ushijima never thought he would meet anyone more hyper than Satori.
-Well he was wrong.
-Satori’s sister was a replica of him.
-Almost the same red hair only hers had some H/C highlights in them while they had different colored eyes, while Sato’s were red Y/N’s were E/C.
- “Hi, I’m Tendou Y/N! You must be Ushijima, Satori has told me so much about you.”
-After that the three of you became a package.
-Someone was looking for Tendou?
-Look for Ushijima he’s with him.
-Looking for Y/N?
-Follow the loud noises, it’s probably her brother and she’s with him.
-Trying to find Ushijima?
-Just track down Y/N he’s with her.
-Even teachers would follow that strategy.
-Ushijima was the first who caught feelings even though he didn’t know he caught em.
-It was your last year of middle school and you were sad.
- “But aren’t you sad that we’re saying goodbye to middle school Ushi-kun????”
- “You can see the middle school building from the high school dorms, Y/N.....”
- “Yeah but still it’s saaaaaad!!!!!”
-You had been whining since you left school grounds for the last volleyball match of the year.
-Both the male and the female teams were to compete in the same gymnasium so you decided to walk with you boys rather than your team.
-You were the team’s libero mainly due to your energy and the fact that you were the smallest person in the team.
- “I know Y/N-chan i’m gonna miss it tooo!!!”
-Ushijima couldn’t always understand what you two were going on about.
-He guessed it was a twins thing.
-Weird twin communication or something.
-But as much as he wanted to make himself shut your whines out, he couldn’t.
-Lifting his hand he placed it on your head and ruffled your hair.
- “Just imagine the high school dorms. I think the female dorms our closer to ours now.”
-After the mini heart attack from his previous action, a smile started to form on your face.
-So big and bright that you could compete with Hinata for the title of sunshine.
-Tendou started laughing and you thought he was laughing at your smile.
-But no.
-satori was laughing at Ushijima’s blush that grew darker as you giggled at your brother’s antics.
-High school was a blast.
-You and Satori would always drag Ushijima into your shenanigans and he would always let you.
-The man is weak for your puppy dog eyes.
-It was now your last year in Shiritorizawa and you were sad again.
-So sad that you weren’t focused enough during practice.
-You were called to practice your receives and you were in position.
-You looked so in the moment so ready.
-But you were far from that.
-Your mind was again on him.
-Ushijima.
-You knew that the one thing you would miss most from your school was your best friend.
-You didn’t really care about your brother because well he was your brother but Ushijima....he was a painful subject.
-Head in the clouds you didn’t receive the ball correctly and because of the force of the spike you lost your balance spraining your ankle in the process.
-The coach rushed to you, calling out to the rest of the team to get an ice pack and a bottle of water.
-She tried to pull you to your feet but your ankle prevented you.
- “It doesn’t look broken but its a nasty sprain. We need to get you to the nurse’s office.”
-Ushijima and Tendou were making their way to their own gym for practice when they saw the girls running around in a semi panicked state.
-One of them spotted the two boys and called out to the, telling them what happened *mainly because Tendou was your brother and they felt like he needed to know*.
-Instead of Tendou, Ushijima was the one who reached the gym first and was met with you on the floor a pained expression on your face.
-Your coach motioned him over and your face lit up for a split second.
- “Could you take her to the nurse? None of the girls can carry her and she can’t really walk.”
-Without uttering a word he knelt down and picked you up bride style and just left the gym.
-He told Tendou to wait for him in the gym and that he would be right back.
-Tendou being cupid himself who had seen one too many romance films, let his best friend take his crush to the nurse thanking the universe for making you so dumb.
- “I’m sorry for this Ushi-kun I wasn’t paying attention.”
- “I’ve seen that during school hours as well. What’s wrong?”
-You hesitated at that.
-Should you tell him?
-Should you tell him that you are afraid of missing him?
-That you are afraid of losing him?
-Ushijima’s own thoughts were running wild mainly due to the fact of your close proximity and how he could just dip his head and kiss you.
- “High school is over and and ...”
-Tears ran down your cheeks taking Ushijima by surprise.
-He didn’t expect you to be this sad about it and before he knew it he was whipping  away your tears.
-He looked at you waiting for the rest of the sentence.
-Mustering all of your courage you went for it.
- “I don’t want to lose you...”
- “You’re not going to lose me we will keep in touch, you mean to much to me after all. I can’t just forget you.”
-He smiled at you as more tears  ran down your cheeks and you wrapped your arms around his neck.
-He tightened his grip around you and buried his face in your hair.
-There was one thing in both of your brains.
- “I want to be more than friends.”
-You sealed that with a kiss.

Mikasa Ackermann, Levi Ackermann, Amane Misa, Aeron Greyjoy for the charactet ask :3
SOMEONE HEARD MY PRAYERS AND NOW MY TIME HAS COME, tysm!!!!! <3
okay, let's start with levi (my beloved):
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life (THEE little feral anime man after my heart)
hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang (Dark, Tall and Snarky + piercing grey-blue eyes and chronic insomnia? clearly my type ❤)
hogwarts house: gryffindor (maybe....?) | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff
ugh, the hp sorting house system is way too reductive. he has qualities of gryffindor, slytherin, and hufflepuff - brave, astute, loyal to a fault, etc. so it's a hard choice. but if i really have to choose, i'd go for gryffindor. i know that his Bad Boy facade shouts slytherin, but while he has larger goals (killing all the titans, then saving the world etc.), he's got no actual ambition for himself. hufflepuff would also be a good option.
daemon (from the his dark materials series): (because i've just decided that's just way more accurate than the hp method) some kind of big feline. maybe a panther - a black panther would be the ideal - aloof, predatory, dangerous, fiercely independent.
best quality: besides his obvious strenghts as a leader and warrior, the way he cares for his comrades-in-arms. it's very hard to gain his trust and respect, but once you have it, it's forever. he's pragmatic and ruthless, yes, but he also has a huge capacity for compassion and friendship. not that he would be effusive about his affections, of course.
worst quality: none, he's absolutely perfect ❤ jklsdfhjk jokes aside, he really struggles to open up (a serious understatement), idt he ever talked about his traumatic past with anyone. i mean, maybe he mentioned it to hange and erwin (erwin knew him when he was still an undergound thug, so...), but... he's not great with feelings. despite his apathetic, intimidating mask, he feels and cares deeply, but he has a long history with losing the people he loves, so he tries to not personally care about his squadmates, which can be both a strenght and a weakness. of course, he spectacularly fails at this.
ship them with: well, it's not a secret that i'm a huge rivamika fan, this ship is almost literally consuming my waking thoughts lmao. imo they're perfectly compatible: very similar personalities (stoic, the strongest warriors, absolutely terrifying on the battlefield but with a soft underbelly), very similar pasts/experiences, so many parallels that it's actually ridiculous, etc. i love how they're both each other's equals and likeness (yes, i took it from jane eyre. no, i don't regret anything lmao). a lot of tropes i love, too: Terrible First Impression (the Pride and Prejudice vibes are so strong with these two, you have no idea), Kindred Spirits/Mirror Images, Veteran/Young Prodigy, The Last of Their Kind, even Height Difference lmao. i could write a whole rivamika manifesto, but this is already too long. (maybe for some other time 👀) i would've loved for their dynamic to be more explored in canon but alas, isayama clearly didn't give a shit about the ackerman legacy, he just used it as a plot shortcut to give them conveniently unique powers, since they never really talked about it 🙄 (and before some troll comes into my askbox shouting "you iNcEsT fReAk!!!!1!!", they're only very distantly related. we know shit about the ackermans but we know for sure that they've got at least several generations between them. biologically their shared DNA is 0%, obviously they don't see each other as family, all the eldians have a dead ass common ancestor from 2000 years ago so they're all basically ⁓related anyway. if you really wanna scream about i.ncest, go watch got/dark/the borgias and shut the fuck up please. or alternatively go outside and touch some grass) sorry for the rant, uh. anyway, i can also see levi/erwin. idk if i'd ever care enough to read a fic about them (i'm usually a huge multishipper, but for some weird reason not when it comes to rivamika? same with braime and kastle tbh), but still, i can see it.
brotp them with: hange and erwin, obv. veteran trio >>> ema trio, sorry not sorry (at least h. and e. died before yams had the chance to ruin their character arcs)
needs to stay away from: ...uh, filth, i guess? lmao
misc. thoughts: besides the stupid teenage fangirl crush i have on him, i'm genuinely fascinated by the man himself. he's a huge mess of a contradictions, and yet somehow it works: he's violent and brash and kind of an asshole, but also has a strong moral code and integrity; he's obv very skilled at all the killing/torturing stuff and yet he has a huge respect for life; he's got a potty mouth to say the least, and yet some very aristocratic manners/tastes (the way he sits, his preference for tea and usually refined clothes); he comes from what's supposed to be an illustrous bloodline, he's methodical and very precise, and yet he was born and raised in the underground, he's been used to filth and blood and poverty since he was a child, kenny of all people was his father figure, and probably has known no other life than a perennial survival mode existence. he's "humanity's strongest soldier", but while well-built he's also small, the david to the titans' goliah, and probably not what people would assume a born warrior looks like. he's also one of the few characters who stayed true to himself and his original characterization until the end, bless you smol king ❤
(okay, this is getting long!)
mikasa:
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them (so much. she deserved better ❤️) | actual love of my life
hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! (stunning lady ❤) | 10/10 would bang
hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff
this is actually easy: mikasa belongs to hufflepuff and no, i won't take criticism (just joking lol). enough with this "hufflepuffs are fluffy puppies/Cinnamon Rolls <3" thing: mikasa values loyalty and duty more than anything else. she's also hardworking... and fierce, strong, lethal. yes, hufflepuff and lethal are not mutually exclusive concepts.
daemon: (finally the better option) a she-wolf, fiercely protective of her pack.
best quality: loyal, brave, incredibly strong (alongside her more fragile qualities). practical and level-headed on the battlefield, at least when eren is not included in the picture.
worst quality: struggles to let go of the past (understandable, considering her trauma). tunnel-vision when it comes to eren, obv. extreme levels of delusions ("if only i spoke openly about my romantic feelings for him - as if i didn't made them abundantly clear in ⁓6 years - he wouldn't kill 80% of humanity :(((" lmao okay. just. okay), but that's more on the writing. she's sadly more static than any other main character throughtout the whole series.
ship them with: see above :) but recently i've also started to be intrigued by mikasa/annie and mikasa/sasha. also, i'm sympathetic to jeankasa fans, though i don't actually care for the ship.
brotp them with: EMA trio, especially armin+mikasa. their friendship is so beautiful and special. also sasha.
needs to stay away from: ...... eren, at least romantically. again, that's more on the writing than anything else, but e.remika unfortunately encompasses many tropes i loathe with all the strength of my old shriveled heart: childhood friends-to lovers where the (male) childhood friend doesn't acknolewdge/is completely indifferent to the other (female) friend's romantic feelings, she hopelessly pines for him for years without anything more than a cold shoulder... until in the last chapter it's revealed that he loved her all along and doesn't "want other men to have her!!! :((" (then why did you have no reaction whatsoever to jean's years-long crush on her while she was jealous of any vaguely female-shaped human being you were friendly to, including hange? are you that dumb, man?); the female character's development and entire arc 100% revolves around the male protagonist - she has no goals, no dreams of her own except staying with him forever and ever; the romance is based on an idealized childhood dream, therefore reaffirming those childish illusions would make the character regress, not actually grow up (and nope, epilogue!jk doesn’t count; that also lacks build-up - i would’ve said the same about rm as well, so it’s not about shipping, guys, it really isn’t - and mikasa needed an inner change; getting married to another man but still praying to eren’s shrine is not substitute to actual development lol). post-time skip she's never really frustrated/angry with him, they never get a confrontation about him becoming a, y'know, mass-murderer of gigantic (pun intended) proportions; she puts him on a pedestal, and never stops idealizing him/never sees him for what he actually is (the narrative framing him as some kind of tragic martyr/saint eren from paradis with zero agency and basically... no clear motivation for the abovementioned mass murder, and not the actual complex tragic anti-hero/villain motivated by revenge and righteous fury he deserved to be, does not help). it lacks a good or even decent build-up - it's basically all tell and not show. now, if they'd actually been childhood friends to enemies to lovers/mutually co-dependent... it could have been interesting. sadly, it's not my cup of tea. of course this is just my personal preference, no hard feelings to the shippers.
misc. thoughts: enormous potential. she's been my fav female character since s1 - and ah, i miss s1!mikasa, when she had actually other stuff to do besides mothering eren. i love that she's the strongest warrior (second only to levi, obv), that her skills are never called into questions despite her gender, i love how she stands up for herself and the people she loves, that she may seem cold and stoic and yet has a such a huge heart, that she's not perfect but also sometimes awe-inspiring. sadly, she never really gets out of eren's shadow; what she lacks is an arc focused on herself. that's why imo getting deeper into the ackerman lore would've helped (also, you cannot make the main female character and the most popular male character descend from the same Unique Bloodline or whatever, and never really make them acknowledge it out loud; as a writer, you just can't lol). my spite is so strong that i'm currently writing a ridiculously pretentious fic that's 70% development for her character, to give her a voice, and 30% ackerthirsting. (yes, that's the fic i'm always vagueblogging about lmao, rip @ my brain). if any other rivamika fan is interested… mind you, it’s in italian tho, and idt i have the skills to translate into english.
misa:
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life
hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang
hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff
daemon: mmh, maybe some kind of butterfly? beautiful, colorful, and short-lived.
best quality: glorious fashion sense, more inventive and ingenious than fans actually give her credit for.
worst quality: shallow, impulsive, and obv her dependence on/obsession with light (which stems from trauma btw, but still… the very opposite of a relationship between equals).
ship them with: rem, kinda (monster/human ftw!). also weirdly enough mogi, a little bit? she deserves someone who actually respects her… though she’s far from being a perfect angel. she may actually be crazier than light on some aspects. but in this house we stan evil ladies anyway, so i have no problem with that <3
brotp them with: uh, idk, maybe matsuda?
needs to stay away from: obv light. also takada.
misc. thoughts: a tragic victim of sexist writing. she may be… unhinged to say the least, but she didn’t deserve the abuse she got from light (and from the fans). the female characters’ writing in dn is so bad that idk if it’s on purpose, to kinda mirror the reality of women in a patriarchal society (dependent on men, housewives whose life entirely revolves around their husband/boyfriend etc.), or just casual misogyny lol. it’s even more baffling since we don’t know the author’s gender (they may be a man, a woman, nb, anything really). i tend for the latter option tho.
aegon greyjoy (now, i wasn’t expecting him lol):
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life
hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang
hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff
i’m so sorry, i haven’t the slightest idea lmao. maybe gryffindor? mind you, it’s been a long time since i’ve re-read the books, so i don’t have many thoughts about him.
daemon: maybe it’s cliché, but some kind of fish/squid lmao
best quality: ugh, i really can’t remember much from his chapters :(( he’s not a coward, i guess? (lame answer, sorry!)
worst quality: definitely his religious fanaticism.
ship them with: no one.
brotp them with: uh… his family, ig? except euron.
needs to stay away from: obv euron. brr ://
misc. thoughts: i genuinely like the greyjoys chapters, though i vastly prefer the martells (with the exception of theon and asha, bcs i love them). yes, they’re deranged. yes, victarion is… well, victarion lol. but the drowned god religion is actually interesting, grrm knows how to write trauma - every time aeron mentions euron and that freaking door i’m like… :// - and the tragedy of it all… just great writing all around.
okay, that’s the end lmao. thank you so much, love!!! ❤❤

Puppy Love
[Part 2 to the Monsters/Humans Au! >:3 Gotta get that sweet, sweet childhood friends to lovers trope train going, full steam ahead! It’ll still be a few parts before we hit legit shipping zone but for now, take this bonding and fluff with lil Bakupup!
Werewolf!Bakugo Katsuki x Reader
Ao3
4k and some change
Childhood Friends to Lovers, Monster/Human, Relationship building, Cute Bonding and Fluff!]
You didn’t love the new house.
It wasn’t even really new, just new to you. But it was going to be home, for now. At least until your parent’s work carried you and them elsewhere again.
It was hard moving around so often.
You didn’t get to go to preschool because of it. And you never stayed quite long enough to warm up to any friends. You got used to playing by yourself a lot.
At least this house had a big yard!
Plenty of space, and plenty of leaves to make piles for jumping into. More and more sprinkled in from the forest edge just a dozen or so feet from your front door.
You were pushing another armful of leaves into your growing stock when you heard it.
A cry? A whine?
You stopped and listened.
Someone was definitely crying!
You left your hoard and followed the sound into the woods. Just about when you thought you could find the source, it suddenly stopped.
You looked all over before spotting a dip in the ground; a small hill leading sharply down off a ledge. There was a muddy stripe dug out of the slope, the earth weak where rain and gravity pulled it soft.
Climbing down that way was definitely a bad idea. But you did find that walking around worked just fine. The slope settled out to meet the ground some feet away, so that's where you carefully stepped down. You circled back around to the underside of the ledge, seeing dirt and torn grass cling to the edge.
You stepped closer, leaning into the bushes growing greedily against the rock, reaching up to see if you could curiously brush your fingers over the edge- when your foot found hold on something decidedly not earthy.
You leapt back, ears ringing from the yowl that came out at your feet.
Heart thumping, you knelt and peered under the thick leaves of the bush, catching ruby eyes, and a mess of blonde hair, damp clinging to the matching lashes.
It was a boy!
Was he...growling at you?
The pale fluff of his pretty tail sported a fresh muddy footprint amongst the dirtied stains already present, it curled tightly to him.
“You...You have a tail.”
He bore his fangs at you, scuffed and muddied cheeks stretching wide to snarl as you stared on. You could just barely catch the view of ears, laid flat against his hair.
He looked like a doggy! Or, at least some parts did.
Dark and dirty claws dug into the grass under his tucked body. The whole of him looked unkempt. A ragged and stained tee, and shorts to match. He didn’t even have any shoes on! And his ankle...
It was tucked in quickly when he caught you staring at it, wincing even as he growled low.
It looked so big, too big. And red.
“...Did you fall? From up there?”
His eyes stayed glued to you, but he made no move to respond.
He looked hurt, and very dirty. And scared. How did you get doggies to stop being scared?
“...I’m...I’m gonna be right back okay? Don’t leave, okay?”
His eyes followed you silently from his coiled spot as you walked back around and up the slope, back towards home.
With you gone, Katsuki relaxed, but not too much. He couldn’t leave even if he tried, unable to stand on his swollen ankle and much too tired, cold, and hungry, to try crawling away with a bum leg.
For now, he huddled in on himself more, letting a shiver run him over that he’d refused to show a stranger.
He’d dozed lightly, unsure of how long it’d been exactly, but too much time couldn’t have passed with the afternoon sun still rather high in the sky.
His ear twitched with the growing sound of plastic scratching against grass.
Back you came, tugging a shiny plastic sled with you, a porcelain bowl wobbling atop it, filled to the edge with honeyed ham lunch-meat.
This is how you make doggies happy, right? With food? You hoped this was the case for him too, as you pushed the sled closer to the bush, enough for his hand to reach out and take the bowl if he wanted.
He eyed you just as warily as before, even as his nose twitched with interest at the offering.
...Meat? ...Meat!
Eyes wide and stomach growling, he slowly inches forward. His leaf-pressed ears flick free when his head escapes its hide, sniffing the tantalizing bowl all the more.
His eyes flick to yours once more, narrowing. His body is tense, ready to flee back into perceived safety- so you step back, just a bit more, and sit down.
The earth is damp under you, but you don't mind.
"It's not warm...I'm not allowed to use the microwave- but you can have it!"
He swallows, leaning out a bit more to place his hands on the sled and lean into the bowl.
It only takes one testing nibble before he decides to tear into it properly.
He even eats like a doggy!
It takes a surprisingly short amount of time for him to reach the bottom of the bowl, lapping up the last dregs of flavor left from it.
In his haste to feed his gnawing tummy, he'd almost forgotten you were there. Catching your eyes again, he inched back into his hide a bit.
"W-wait! I uhm...I have more at home! Of that," you point to the bowl.
The promise of more food...did feel rather tempting.
"And... You’re foots hurt, right? Let's go to my house, and we can try to fix it!"
You stand, taking a step toward the sled to pat its oh-so comfy surface, "We can use this to move you, ‘cause you can't walk, right?"
As much as he'd have liked to deny the claim, he'd have no ability to back it up, knowing well he couldn't stand on that leg. So he opted for a huff and a glare set aside from you.
You didn't budge, and for a moment neither did he. But the lure of food was too strong, not to mention how the sound of sleeping outside in the dirt again made the offer all the more appealing.
Finally, he inched further out, nudging the bowl aside to climb into the sled before setting it atop his belly like a clear promise for more treats. His narrow-eyed pout did nothing to fend off the excited grin on your face.
It worked!
The process of pulling his weight back up the slope, and then all the way home, was a bit more of a task than you'd expected. He was heavy!
He'd also growl at you if you dragged him over anything that jostled the sled. The encouragement was not great!
But you'd come too far to leave him, and it'd be mean anyway!
So on you went.
The steps up to your front door were a different beast to tackle all-together.
You looked between him and the steps, knowing you couldn't just drag him up them, it'd tip him out of the sled! And you weren't even sure you could move him. It was rather literally, an uphill battle!
He snorted at your hesitation, shifting onto his side in the sled and taking the bowl's edge into his mouth as he got to his knees. Knee.
He could at least crawl this far, with relief so close.
"Oh! So... you could move?"
The haughty tilt of his head as he climbed the steps made you want to fuss- you hadn't needed the sled at all! It hadn't been that far from the house! Your arms were tired, and they didn't need to be!
You supposed it'd still been easier with the sled, for him at least.
You swallowed your annoyance and marched past him up the steps, not sparing him a look and missing how he hurried after you, to open the door.
"This is my house!"
For now, at least.
He looked around at it briefly, unimpressed and with impatience. He growled at you when you didn't move.
"Oh...I guess we should do something about your foot." You giggled at him, "I didn't really think about that yet! Just how to get you to come with."
He gave you such a look, wanting to bark out how dumb it was to offer help and not even have a full plan!
"Mmm, Daddy hurt his foot before, and he wrapped it up and stuff. Maybe we should do that?" Not waiting for a response, not that he'd been planning to give one, you nodded affirmatively.
"My rooms upstairs," You looked him over, seeing how truly awkward he looked carrying a leg up like that.
"Maybe we can walk together?" You stepped closer, "We can leave the bowl for now- we'll get food after we fix your foot!"
You went to take the dish from his mouth, but he turned his head away, a warning bubbling up from his throat. No way was he forfeiting the food reminder!
You sighed, letting him keep it, "Fine fine."
It was awkward getting him to his feet. Foot. Trying to hike him up under his armpits only worked so far, he really was heavy!
He hoped he'd never have to let anyone see him like this, he thought, as he took an arm around your shoulder and helped steady his weight on you and balance on a single paw.
Like this, it was far more obvious that he was bigger than you. A good head taller.
His steps and yours left muddy prints as you hiked up to your room. It wasn't just his feet leaving dirt behind, every brush of his shirt and hands on yourself and the banister showing his mark.
He was definitely going to need a bath!
With a nudge of your foot to your door left ajar, the finishing line was crossed. More or less!
Katsuki sniffed at the air as you brought him to sit at the heavy chest at the end of your bed, the whole place smelling of you.
"It shtinksh."
You looked up at him from where you crouched to look at his foot, startled at the sound of him.
"So, you can talk?"
He took the bowl from his mouth finally, "Of course I can talk! Stupid girl."
You stood and huffed at him, "That's mean! I'm not stupid. What do you mean it stinks?"
He leaned out to you, sniffing you with an exaggerated look of disgust, "I mean this place stinks of human. Girl human."
You looked at him blankly, "Human?"
It hadn't really occurred to you that he wasn't actually human. Sure, he had doggy ears and a tail but…
The corner of his mouth twitched up into a sneer, "You really are stupid! You didn't notice I'm not a human?!"
You frowned at him, "Your mouth is dumb! Now shut up, I'm gonna fix your foot."
His ears flicked in contempt for your sass, looking away to the wall as you started to dig into your dresser, pulling out a pair of white panty-hose, and a ribbon.
You didn't really know how exactly Daddy had wrapped his foot up, but it couldn't be too hard, right?
Katsuki winced and fussed as you tied up his swollen joint. It did absolutely look like a mess by the time you were done, but he had to admit, it did feel better to have it secured in place.
"I think...you're supposed to put ice on it? Like when you bump your head and you have to put a bag of frozen peas on it."
The look on his face was of pure confusion, but he shook it off as just something weird humans did.
"But first! You need a bath."
To that he tensed, ears pulled flat to his head as he growled.
"No, you're all gross and muddy! And you're supposed to put your foot up and stuff, but I'm not letting you on my bed like that!"
He could only fight so much without bumping his freshly tied foot as you grabbed him up under his armpits to pull him to your bathroom.
You kept a hold on his dirty shirt to keep him from fleeing as you turned the knobs of the tub. You didn't remember exactly how much too turn them, Mommy usually did it for you.
After a bit more of a fight, he sat sulkily in the tub, filthy clothes soaked and dying the water a murky brown.
"Just take them off, they're wet now so you can't wear them after anyway!"
Reluctantly he pulled the torn pieces off, flinging them at you with spite. "Pushy human." He snickered at the shriek he pulled from you.
After throwing his sopping clothes at the hamper, you slapped him with the fluffy loofah. "Bad doggy!"
He puffed his lower lip out with a glare, wiping the wet from his face as you began to dump smelly goop into his hair.
You fussed at his fidgeting, "Calm down! This isn't grown-up shampoo, it's for kids. It won’t hurt your eyes, so stop wiggling."
The water grew darker still as you washed clumps of dirt from his hair, finding the blonde fluff far brighter once it was clean. His ears would twitch when you'd run your fingers over them curiously. You did want the dirt off there too, but it'd be a lie to say you weren't curious about them. They were soft, leathery like a real dog’s.
He'd never admit how nice it felt, warm with soft hands cleaning the night's stress from his fur. He'd relaxed a little in your touch, leaning slightly as your nails scratched around his ears. He felt a childish whine tease at his throat when your hands left.
Getting the shower head down was a bit of an ordeal, but you managed it with only some sloshed water on the floor as it fell from its hook into the tub.
"Close your eyes, okay? I'm gonna rinse."
He frowned, catching himself doing as you said without hesitation, but he didn't get the chance to go back on it as fresh water carried the suds and muck from his hair into the thoroughly soiled bathwater.
"Ugh, you're really yucky," you voiced with a wrinkled nose. Once the soap was out, you pulled the bath plug, releasing the used water into the drain.
He turned his head to you, eyes still shut against the rivulets of water falling from his bangs, ears flicking to you as he felt the loofah pressed into his hand.
"You can wash the rest of you yourself! I'm gonna go get some towels."
He squeezed the soft spongey thing as he listened to you leave, the rush of cooler air from the opened door making him shiver.
Towels were easy to find; the hall closet full of them and clean white linens. Clothes, another thing he'd need, would be a different story.
He was bigger than you. Would any of your things fit?
After some deliberation, you settled on your longest pair of pants, stretchy and cotton, and to steal a shirt from your dad's room. It'd only be gone for a little while, so surely he wouldn't mind!
By the time you returned, Katsuki was all washed off, sitting cold in the tub where the last dregs of dirt ran brown streaks into the drain.
Baths weren't so bad, though different than what he was used to at home. He didn't much care for the after, though. Cold and damp was not comfortable.
You dump the clean clothes on the bed before coming over with the towels, holding one open wide to wrap around him, and another to drape over his frowny face.
"There!" You help him out of the tub and over to sit on your bed, willing to let a little damp get on it as long as mud didn't come with.
Katsuki's vision was interrupted as you vigorously dried his hair, only going at it for a moment before you backed off, leaving him to swallow the annoyed rumble in his throat.
"I said we'd get food after the bath, so-!" His eyes ran between you and the bowl, the dip in the corners of his mouth deepening as he reluctantly handed it over. As long as food was being put in.
Off you went.
He shook his hair a bit, freeing the last droplets of water after he took a look around the room. He couldn't investigate like he'd prefer, but it didn't seem that there was much to see anyway. A bed, which he was on; the fuzzy carpeting, mysteriously lacking a scent from any identifiable animal; a mess of pillows and blankets (Did you always leave your nest this messy?); the wooden furniture he'd seen you take his wrappings out of...
Speaking of, they were soaking wet.
"Stupid..." You’d never gone to get the supposed ‘frozen peas’ either.
It shouldn't pose a problem, they'd dry soon enough. The injury wasn't an open wound, so it's not as though rot could set in. And besides, the cooling air on the cloth felt rather nice on his throbbing ankle.
He spent a moment sniffing at your pillows, the scent weak. The room wasn't as permeated as he'd insisted. But how was it so weak when you lived here?
He couldn't ask that now, having already claimed it stunk well of you, so he looked elsewhere, spying the waiting clothes.
Back you came, bowl in hand with a fresh mound of lunchmeat, turkey this time, and a cup of water that had obviously been sloshed about on your way up.
"Oh!" You were surprised to see him already dressed. Your suspicion that your pants would be a bit small on him was proven true, the end legs supposed to end just above the ankle, yet they sat tightly around his calves. There was also the problem of how his tail sat, the waistband at his back having to sit low to allow his tail free reign.
"Will that be okay? The shirt is Daddy's, so it shouldn't be small."
He offered a grunt, leaning out to sniff at the bowl. Different color, different smell, same shape?
You sat the bowl and cup on the chest, letting him take it over with gusto while you sat further up by your pillows.
He ate with just as much vigor as he had earlier. Was he just really hungry? Or is that just how he always did?
"So, do you live outside?" You asked, feet swinging off the edge of the bed as he licked his claws clean of wandering flavor.
"Mm?"
"Well, you were outside...You seemed like you'd been there for a little while...Do you live there?"
He looked at you warily, with distrust and disdain, giving his attention instead to the fresh water presented, only to frown deeply at how he couldn't well fit his mouth into it's opening.
"You need to hold it and tip it," You didn't wait for him to do so before rolling into your next question. "Where's your mommy and daddy? Do they live outside too?"
His eager gulping stalled briefly, letting water dribble down his chin before he finished the rest of the cup.
"...Yeah."
You shifted on the bed, turning to face him with interest now that he answered one part of your curiosity, "Do you know where they are? Did you get lost? Is that why you were all alone?"
He scowled openly at your flurry of questions, "No, maybe, and none of your business!"
You frowned, "It kind of is! If you don't know where they are, we can try to go find them...But your foots hurt, so maybe not right now?"
You looked pensively at his decorated ankle, having no clue how long it'd take for something like that to feel better. And you couldn't just carry him all the way or pull him in the sled. Especially when you didn't know how far they were!
He'd never admit his mistake, having begged his parents to let him go on a night-hunt with them instead of staying cooped up in their hide, nestled in and keeping quiet so no predators came looking for a small, tasty snack.
"I...I can find them. I can smell them."
"Just like a real doggy!"
He huffed, "They could track me too, at least they could before." Now, of course, most of his scent washed off down the drain of the tub; a new smell rubbing off on his skin from the borrowed clothes, soap, and closeness with...a human.
Would they even come this close to human territory for him? Surely, they would, right? They wouldn't just...leave him?
He fought the burning in his eyes and set the empty cup down on the chest with little grace.
Much to his fury, you noticed how his pretty red eyes glittered just that inch more.
"Hey- It'll be okay. It will! We'll just...You can stay here! And once your foot's better we can go out and find them, okay? I'll help!"
His head whipped to face you, resentment at the offer of help hanging off his bared fangs, snapping shut when he felt your warm hand in his hair.
When his breathing relaxed, brows still furrowed but no longer looking about to take your hand off, you grinned.
"Good boy!"
At that he really did snap his teeth at your hand, pulling from you a playful squeal as you yanked your hand back from him and scooted quickly over toward the headboard in a mock flee.
He threw you an irritated glare, snorting at your ridiculous display even as his tail dusted your sheets back and forth.
And stay he did.
Time managed to go by easily, hours bringing in the evening and the intricate dodging of revealing the impromptu sleepover that you'd arranged.
Mom would never have approved of you having a friend over so suddenly, let alone a boy.
Still, you questioned her a bit once she returned from work.
Did some dogs turn into people? Were there people who turned into dogs? Or just had the ears and stuff?
Most of your pressing was granted an emphatic 'no'. The rest was waved off as she tried to settle in from the working day, too tired to muse your strange questions.
A cup of water was easily snuck up to your room, part of your dinner less so.
At least it was dryer food, more easily tucked up in a napkin and whisked away behind your back before it was dumped into the garbage by your father when you'd said you were already full.
Katsuki was grateful for the food, warmer than the packaged meat. When you laughed about being glad it hadn't gotten thrown away, he'd given you a questioning look. You offered a light fussing that you didn't like it when your parents threw things away, at least not food. Sometimes you'd wanna eat it later, just not now! Though this time it was going to someone else, instead of your inconsistent appetite.
It was then he'd realized, this was yours. Not just something already available, but specifically yours. You'd taken less to be sure he was fed.
He was glad you didn't catch the conflicted expression on his face. Grateful, in debt, and slightly bothered by your kindness.
Amongst beasts, sharing food was bonding. Sharing in a way that meant you had less, more so. Wolves were greedy with meals, a gesture like that was...
But you weren't a wolf.  He wouldn't disrespect your unknown action. So he ate.
Evening grew to night with little disturbance, and he was surprised to see your family never came to you, having been well ready to hide from them at the first hint of invasion. Did humans not engage with pack mates the same way?
No fussing over you with grooming? No ancient tales to tell? No check-in to be sure you were safe in the nest at all? Not even a nightly goodbye scenting?
Though his eyes wouldn't betray it, he looked at you with pity. While he'd refuse the claim he was ever lonely, he did know what it looked like.
He hadn't really been listening as you babbled on about what to do about sleeping arrangements, new determination set in his jaw.
"My bed's big enough for us, I think. I don't really want you sleeping on the floor; and we don't have a sleeping bag or anything even so-"
You looked completely bewildered when he shifted towards you, curling his claws toward his palm as his knuckles rubbed away at the smears of dirt you never cleaned up from earlier. Were your parents so daft, they didn't even notice how messy you were? And who let their pup wander away so far without anyone watching? You didn't even have any claws or fangs to protect yourself. No, you might not even have a sense for danger, considering how easily you were lured into the forest by a strange noise. What if he'd been an adult? Or something else?
"Go clean up!" He barked, "And get ready for sleep."
You wanted to fuss, and opened your mouth to object his order before he issued a warning clearly.
With a huff you went to your dresser and dug out some PJs, taking them with you to the bathroom to change and wash up.
He snorted as you slammed the door shut behind you. You might not care for his nagging, but it didn't matter. And he refused wholly to examine his actions any deeper. At least for now.
A night spent in human territory, in an unfamiliar nest...It was far from ideal. But it could have certainly been worse, had you not been so stupid as to investigate an unknown noise all alone.
When you came back, dressed warmly in oddly colored fluffy clothes, he wiggled over in the bed to let you in. He had already chosen his spot; the outside, and closest to any theoretical danger.
He tugged you closer once you were in, your hair only lit by the moonlight in the window, yet he could see how tangled it was just fine. He was used to the dark.
His claws were sharp but careful as he used them to pick and pry your hair until he was satisfied, or at least until your complaints became too much to listen to.
At that, he let you out of his grasp to wiggle into the blankets properly, pulling them up over him as you went.
"Oh...I never asked your name," You noted sleepily.
He stared, your words left hanging as he considered you.
"Katsuki."
Your yawn tipped into a smile as he gave his name, " 'M [Name]."
You, this pathetic, defenseless creature. A fool who let a predator, pup or not, into your nest. Who gave to a stranger. Who risked life and limb, unknowingly or not, as you searched for a responsibility that was not yours to bear. This human pup that was looked after so carelessly...
"Night-Night, Katsuki."
You would be his to protect.
This he decided as he tucked in close, pressing his moon-kissed cheek to yours, doing well to rub even his washed-dull scent off on you.

Perfect Timing - (Part 1)
Think of this as a long ass prologue????
Request: If it's not too confusing.. Could you do an imagine where Nero has a fem friend who he always thought of as a sister until V showed up and started taking her attention away from Nero ((I live for the friend to lovers trope and childhood friend to lovers is my ultimate weakness, i love your writing very much thank you for all you do, keep up the good work!))
Notes: This is a Nero/Reader/V story that will last about 3 (maybe more) parts. Thank you to the anon that requested this, I loved it so much that I am turning it into a little series XD
Part 1, Part 2 , Part 3
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The van was quiet, which was odd since there were now more people inside than there usually were. While the space felt a little cramped with five people, including yourself, it was oddly relaxing for some unknown reason. There was a naked woman wrapped in a white sheet and a mysterious, ebony haired male sitting on the van’s step, Lady and V. You didn’t know much about the short haired woman, only having met her once before when you picked up some bits and pieces from Devil May Cry for Nico, but V was a complete mystery to you. Luckily for him, he was proving to be quite useful, having not set off any red flags yet.
You were leaning against the narrow bathroom door inside the van, arms crossed as you enjoyed what little time you had to rest your aching muscles and tired eyes while you waited to head out, a soft frown on your lips as you let your eyes droop. You weren’t exactly keen on strutting into the abandoned train station any time soon, but it just so happened to be the quickest way to the big guy himself, Urizen. The soon to be king of Hell if he isn’t knocked off of his throne soon.
You would be lying if you said you weren’t afraid of him. The guy damn near sent shivers up your spine and a chill all throughout your bones. If Dante, the Legendary Devil Hunter himself, couldn’t take him down/got his ass handed to him on a silver platter, then how the hell were you and Nero meant to defeat him? You were both very skilled, no doubt about it, but you were only human and Nero was missing an arm! Luckily he had Nico to whip up some devil breakers for him, which would hopefully be a lot of help against the giant demon.
You had been tagging along with Nero the whole time so far, helping him along the way to fight demons and take down the roots, even though he was more than capable of doing just fine, if not better, on his own, without you to worry about. You had been his little side kick for a few years now, ever since the Fortuna incident. The two of you made a pretty good pair, having known each other for so long meant that you could fight and protect one another much easier now without getting in each others way. When you first started fighting along side him, you were nothing short of clumsy, always bumping into each other and almost getting caught by a blade or bullet. However, after working together for so long, you grew to know each other’s fighting patterns and eventually became a very deadly duo.
However, after meeting the mysterious, tattooed goth, you suddenly wanted to leave Nero’s side, just for a short while, to help out the poor poet. V wasn’t as physically capable of defending himself like you or Nero were, and while he had made it this far on his own, he was slowly wearing out and everyone could tell. He was breathless a lot of the time, seeming exhausted to the point where you were certain he was going to faint. Sure he had his summons to help him along the way, but you felt that going along with him would give him the extra protection he needed. You were merely human, but you had been somewhat of a help to Nero, so why not lead a helping hand to someone who actually needs it?
You grab the young devil hunters attention by saying his name in a calm, quiet tone, pressing off the bathroom door and letting your arms fall to your sides as you stride over to him. He was in the back of the van, grabbing new devil breakers to add to his belt as he got ready to head out. You end up standing close enough to him that your boots scuff against his, reaching a hand out to gently yank the fabric covering his elbow when you realise he didn’t hear you say his name. He jolts a little, either surprised at your presence or close proximity, you couldn’t quite tell. He regained his calm and collected expression quickly, not bothering to look in your direction while he continued to browse for devil breakers, instead he hummed to indicate that he was listening.
“I’m gonna go with V this time. I’ll catch up with you along the way, yeah?” You mention, seeming unfazed that you were suggesting leaving him on his own after so many years of teaming up even though you were a little nervous. You managed to grab all of Nero’s attention with that. The way he placed down the heavy arm and ignored what he was doing in the first place, turning to face you with a shocked expression as he swallowed nervously, made you a little worried for what his reaction would be. Was he not going to let you go? Did he not trust V enough to let you be alone with him? If he really wanted you to stay with him for whatever reason, whether it be to help him or just because he liked the company, you would stay if he asked.
“You sure? It’s been a while since we’ve split up.” He asked with a hint of a frown on his face, the space between his eyebrows creasing every so slightly when he took a half step to the side to get a better look at your face, probably wondering if you were joking or not. You were surprised he straight up asked you if you were certain instead of dismissing what you said, telling you leaving with V wasn’t going to happen. Maybe he wanted you to leave? Was he sick of having to constantly keep an eye on you even though you were more than capable of defending yourself? Maybe he just wanted some time alone?
“Yeah, I know. But, I think he could use the extra help.” You sigh, turning back to look at the ebony haired man, slightly turning his head to the side to converse with Lady who looked both confused and nonchalant about him being there. It was strange how he always managed to look so calm, even when he was clearly exhausted and struggling, he kept the dangerous smirk on his plump lips and that mysterious glimmer in his eye. Either way, no matter how tired he might be, he sure was attractive…
“Does he know you’re planning on tagging along with him, or are you not giving him a choice in the matter?” Nero chuckled, picking up the devil breaker again and gesturing over to V with it which made you turn back to face him instead, shaking your head slightly with a smile. Nero definitely knew you well, probably knowing exactly how the conversation with V went down, because yes, you did talk to the poet about it and he seemed more than happy to have you join him.
Earlier, you had seen him headed towards the van slowly, so you raced out and caught up with him to walk the rest of the way back together, just to keep him company for the short distance. You didn’t miss how he slowed down his pace even more, probably to extend him time alone with you, but you didn’t mind, he was very pleasant to be around so what was there to complain about? When you noticed his heavy, tired breaths, you had asked him if he wanted your help on the next leg of the mission, not even thinking twice about your offer. Not even thinking about what Nero might want…
However, V stopped walking and looked at you with a hint of relief, trying his best to cover it up with a smirk. He shifted all his weight onto his cane, leaning forward slightly as he graciously said he’d much enjoy your company, to which you blushed and smiled dumbly at. He certainly had a way with words, which definitely added to his charm. How could you take back your offer after that? There was no way in Hell.
“I did ask him, thank you very much. And he seemed very pleased that I even asked” You stated to Nero in a matter-of-fact tone with a hint of humour. You jab his shoulder playfully and walk around to his other side, now being the furtherest away from the front of the van as you grab a Gerbera off the bench and admire the hard work Nico had put into creating it. You scratch at the paint, mindful not to take any off, as you twist it this way and that, looking at all the intricate pieces put together.
You feel a hint of guilt wave over you the longer there is silence between you and Nero. You can’t help but wonder if maybe he does want you to stay with him, but is just too scared to say so. Maybe he has grown so used to having a partner in demon hunting that he’s worried he’ll suddenly be bad on his own? Okay, that’s a stretch. Theres also the other part of you that expects he will like some alone time fighting demons, not that he would ever prefer to ditch you, which you know, but everyone needs their space some times…
You gave him a side eye, not wanting him to see that you were looking at him, but he was facing away from you. From where you stood, it looked like he was staring at the back of V’s head, though you couldn’t see his face to read if it was a kind expression he held or not. Knowing Nero, he was a little worried to be sending you off with a guy he knows very little about and was thinking long and hard about whether to let you go or not. You almost dropped the devil breaker in shock when Nero suddenly turned back to face you, so fast that you were sure he gave himself whiplash.
“If you think it’s the right think to do, just be careful… All right?” He said in a low, pleading tone. You half expected him to grab your shoulders and shake you until you promised you’d be cautious. Instead, he gripped his devil breaker in his hand tightly and pursed his lips, looking down at you like a puppy begging for treats. His concern was endearing, if he hadn’t made it so blatantly obvious many times before that he only saw you as a sister, you would be sure there were a deeper meaning behind his worries.
“Always am.” You wink, bracing yourself by grabbing hold of Nero’s arm as you then stand on your tippy toes to press a soft kiss to his cheek. Nero had leaned down slightly for you absentmindedly, his signature smirk occupying his face as he shook his head slowly. You were thankful he wasn’t putting up a fight or arguing with you on the subject, seeming a little hesitant albeit finding no problems with you traveling off with V.
As a kiss on the cheek seeming to end your conversation with the young devil hunter, you turn away from him with a smile and make your way over to Lady and V, sending a nod to Nico who was sitting in the drivers seat, facing the two dark haired humans. Was V a human? He sure looked it… but so did Dante. V had his summons which wasn’t very human-like, though there was still the possibility that in this crazy, demon filled world, maybe humans could somehow possess demonic power without being a demon themselves… Right?
V senses your presence it seems, that as soon as you grab your weapons and stand back at the bathroom door, waiting for Nero to hurry up and be ready, he turns his head to look back at you. He smirks, like he always does, and bows his head slightly to cover his eyes with his dark hair as he asks in a low and calming tone if you are ready to head out. You give a nod, but don’t have the time to open your mouth and speak as Nero comes up beside you, Red Queen on his back and a new set of arms on his belt.
“Let’s head out.” Nero sighs tiredly, seeming just as exhausted as you, while V seemed to be feeling it a lot worse than anyone. You couldn’t blame him though, he wasn’t exactly a demon hunter like yourself and Nero so he was bound to find killing demons tiring.
V nods once before using his cane to help him stand up, saying a quick farewell to the two women as he steps out of the van and into the daylight. You follow behind him after telling Lady to take things easy since she popped out of a demon not so long ago, also blowing a kiss to the Artisan of Arms, then finally stepping outside.
It was cloudy, but brighter than one would expect, warm even though you were sure rain would be falling down soon enough. Luckily, or not so lucky, that you would be headed into the underground train station so you would be sheltered. However, a little rain on your aching muscles sounded like heaven right now, and wandering into a demon infested, gloomy station, was not appealing in the slightest, but it had to be done.
“Nero must be upset… to be missing out on your company.” V states lowly as the two of you begin walking towards the tunnel leading to the station, said tunnel being divided by a fence through the middle, giving you, V and Nero two different paths to take. You took a look behind you and saw that Nero was still in the van, speaking with Lady it seamed, but his eyes were on you and the poet. You noticed that he wouldn’t be able to hear you from the distance put between you and him, not that it mattered, but you put a smile on your face as you faced forward.
“Nah. We’ve spent years together, I’m sure he can survive just one day without me.” You chuckled, sparing a glance at V walking with his cane. His lips curled as he hummed, tapping the cane louder with his final step at the tunnels entrance, peering down into the darkness as he waited for Nero to catch up. You took another look behind you and saw that the silver haired hunter was walking up towards the two of you, hand gripping his sword behind his back as he revved it three times until a small clicking sound was heard.
His weapons scared you. Even his gun, Blue Rose was like firing a cannon, almost blowing your arm off when you attempted shooting it all those years back. You never wanted to touch it again after having intense shoulder pain for a solid two weeks because of firing one shot. You remember how Nero teased you and your frail bones countless times, preceding to show off his skills any time the two of you were off fighting demons. He sure liked to be cocky.
“Who’s gonna go which way?” Nero asked casually as he finally stepped in line with you, stopping at the entrance to scan either side of the tunnel. To be fair, both sides looked like they belonged in a horror movie. You half expected a horde of zombies to start roaming towards you from inside, or a creepy lady with a white dress and long black hair that covered her face… Nope, just demons. Surprisingly, you’d take fighting demons over scary ghost ladies any day.
“Left looks fun.” You stated sarcastically, looking to V who picked up his cane and held it off the ground in a firm grasp rather than walking with it like he was prior. He started forward, clambering over the debris and Qliphoth roots of the left side quickly and easily, before he was almost hidden behind the rubble. You did not like the look of this place at all, and watching V walk inside like it were nothing somehow eased your nerves, making you feel brave enough to enter as well.
However, before you left, you stuck your fist out to the side, glancing at Nero with a look that said, ‘be safe, asshole’. He seemed to get the message, chuckling faintly as he, without question, stuck his fist out and gave you a fist bump like you intended. As if counting down silently together in your heads, the two of you jumped over your respected sides of the tunnel, both landing swiftly and quietly, being separated by the fence.
You smiled through to Nero, letting him know that you’d be okay. He didn’t have to say it, but you could tell he was worrying about your safety more and more as time went on. It was a little daunting having to look at him through a fence, physically being separated even though in reality you were more than certain he could crash through the chainlink at any given moment if he really wanted to.
However, you needed to clear as many areas as possible and the only way to do that, was to split up…

My Ranking Of Every Barbie Movie
A few months ago I finally decided to watch every barbie in order. When I was a kid I loved barbie movies, but I stopped watching them after Princess & The Popstar came out, and I felt like I’ve been missing out ever since.
Here I present to you: My Ranking Of Every Barbie Movie!
Keep in mind that I’m basing this off of my personal enjoyment of each film, and not by how “good” it is. There are many movies here that are ranked high despite being objectively flawed, as well as there are movies ranked low despite being objectively good. My opinions are also subject to change, especially since some of these I’ve only seen once.
36: Barbie & Her Sisters In A Puppy Chase
This entire movie is a mess. Like most of the barbie & her sisters movies there’s no real plot. The events of this movie only happen because of bad luck, which is never a good way to kick off your movie. I also find barbie to be completely OOC in this movie. Her disorganization and lack of planning is something that isn’t present in any of the sisters movies. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy movies that humanize barbie and give her more flaws but there are way more creative ways to do it. It doesn’t help that her insistence to “keep positive!!!” and “be optimistic :)))” just robs this movie of any meaningful message.
Then after the frustrating mess that is the puppy chase itself, Chelsey STILL wins her dance competition despite the fact that barbie didn’t let her practice, and she cheated by adding her sisters and the horses to the dance. It’s unbelievably stupid. I don’t know how the writers of this movie thought we would buy into that. I’m probably never going to watch this movie again.
35: Barbie Presents Thumbelina
The main reason I don’t like this movie is because of the style of the Twillerbees. Unlike Mariposa (the only other movie that doesn’t have a barbie protagonist) their faces look inhuman in a way that makes it hard to relate to them. I would’ve much preferred if Thumbelina had just gotten the normal barbie face, just her body becoming smaller. Besides that I think the girl whose name I can’t remember is annoying, and I didn’t like Thumbelina’s plan to get on her good side to save their home. Both of their character developments were weak and unbelievable. Then once the parents were convinced to stop demolition the movie lost all of its dramatic tension. This movie isn’t ‘bad’ per say, just completely boring. Not I understand why I never rewatched this as a kid.
34: Barbie In Princess Power
This movie had so much unrealized potential, but fell apart due to its plot that went all over the place. The villain and his frog were extremely annoying, Kera’s friends were completely one note characters, and Dark Sparkle was so petty and unnecessary. The part that pissed me off the most was how Kera’s identity was revealed to everyone. First off Wes was forgiven for this way too easily, despite it completely making me lose what little faith I had in his character, and secondly her parents handled it so casually. It seemed more like she had gotten in trouble for sneaking out to go to a party than her being forced into getting superpowers and using them to fight crime in the city. Plus the animation was absolutely horrible. What is with Mattel and changing barbie’s model every new movie?
I really wish this movie was better. Barbie as a superhero is such an amazing concept, and it makes me sad to see it executed so terribly.
33: Barbie & Her Sisters In The Great Puppy Adventure
Another movie with the most annoying villains possible. They’re the core reason I couldn’t stand watching this. In addition to that I found that the treasure being under the big willow tree was completely predictable from the first ten minutes of the movie. And even though the puppies were quite cute, their voices were so annoying. There are also a few plot holes (if you can call them that) such as the metal detector app (it hurt typing that) and how the girls knew that scaling the wall of the cave would lead to where the elevator lead. Despite this I still liked learning about barbie’s childhood and all of her achievements, though her grandma was quite creepy.
32: Barbie & Her Sisters In A Pony Tale
This movie straight up has no plot. It’s the worst of the sisters movies in that regard. Many chunks of this movie felt like filler (such as the party scene), and the character conflicts were weak and contrived (such as Chelsey and Staci's). One thing that I really liked about this movie is Barbie’s character, but that’s pretty consistent with all the sisters movies that aren’t Puppy Chase. I also found the two french guys very annoying (is there any sisters movie with a good villain?).
31: Barbie: Fairytopia
I feel bad for putting this one so low, especially considering how high my placements of all the sequels are. It feels like information is revealed to quickly at the beginning and the rest of the movie is just boring. Elina is very interesting but she could use a lot more character development. The part about her being bullied for not having wings was relegated to cheesy dialogue and didn’t really amount to anything. Plus the fungi aren’t nearly as funny as they are in Mermaidia.
The main reason I’m not putting it lower is for nostalgia and setting up the rest of the Fairytopia series. Aside from that I also really liked the vibe of the one underwater scene, and the “friends you haven’t met” line was quite good. This movie is just a complete anomaly in the great track record of early barbie movies. You honestly don’t even need to watch it to understand the sequels.
30: Barbie: A Perfect Christmas
As a musical this movie really sucks. The only song that I actually liked was barbie’s one solo, and even her singing voice there really didn’t sound like her. There’s really no plot to this movie, but I did find myself enjoying the dynamic of the sisters a lot more than the other sisters movies (even though Skipper’s Arc with the concert came out of nowhere and stressed me out). The way Santa’s magic was shoehorned into the story really bothered me though.
29: Barbie Video Game Hero
The best thing about this movie is definitely the side characters. They all had nice designs and personalities, especially Bella and Chris. The concept of this movie is also so creative and fun that I actually enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. I liked it mostly during the first two levels as well as the bonus one, but the last two really soiled it for me. The fact that there’s an open world game with no clear way to win makes no sense in the context of the rest of the game, and the Just Dance advertisements are absolutely cringey. This movie has a strong beginning but really falls behind in the second half. The last scene of the movie really made me want to rip my eyes out.
28: Barbie: Spy Squad
This movie really suffers from not getting the audience to care. The characters aren’t developed enough in the opening and the way the girls got their jobs as spies seemed too easy. The storyline felt too straightforward, and even the plot twist at the end was kind of cheap.
Despite this I still really enjoyed many parts of this film. For one the animation is amazing. I loved the character designs, especially Patricia’s. Speaking of her, I thought she was a pretty good villain, even if she was a little cheesy and her ‘redemption’ arc was very clumsy. I also thought Lazlo was sweet. A lot of modern barbie movies only go halfway with the romance because they don’t want to be seen as bad role models for girls, and a lot of the times the Ken characters just seem unnecessary. I thought it was a good idea to have him be the “love interest” of a non barbie character so his inclusion doesn’t feel useless, even if they never actually got together. It was also just really fun to see all the spy technology.
27: Barbie: The Princess And The Popstar
The placing of this movie is extremely unfortunate since I actually really liked Tori and Kiera’s characters. They both had spunk and I really like the tropes of the roundy princess and the celebrity who doesn’t find satisfaction in fame. The reason this movie is so low comes down to the terrible plot. It felt like they were trying too hard to make it similar to the Princess & The Pauper even though Tori and Kiera’s characters would much better suit a different plotline. The villains were just insanely frustrating and had such unclear motivations. The songs were also pretty bad (other than Here I Am), the Ken character is annoying, and the climax has barely any emotional weight since it wasn’t led up to properly. But hey, at least Tori/Kiera is a high quality ship. If it wasn’t for their relationship this movie would be much lower.
26: Barbie: A Fashion Fairytale
I love the set up for barbie’s character in this movie. She’s just been fired for the first time, Ken broke up with her, and she feels like her life is falling apart. She really reached a new layer of dimension with this movie, and she’s the best barbie as herself character in all of the movies. My main problem is the boring plotline with the flairies. Their character’s aren’t interesting and what they do to the clothing isn’t anything special. This movie also suffers from the boring villains. Barbie’s character is my main reason for liking this movie, along with the Ken plotline, even if it could be quite contrived.
25: Barbie: Star Light Adventure
This is a very weird movie. I had completely different reactions to it during the two times I saw this movie. The first time I thought it was very disappointing. The title said “adventure” so I was very surprised when the characters spent most of the movie training in the same location and we barely got to see any cool new locations. The pace was also extremely slow, especially near the beginning. The second time I started to appreciate the movie for what it is. The animation is absolutely stunning and I love what we saw of the creatures in this universe. Sa-Lee is definitely one of my favourite side characters, and the rest of the team was pretty cool too.
They also added a bunch of new things that I think are very unique to this movie. For instance I loved that barbie’s had telekinesis. She definitely needs more superpowers in future movies. I also liked that we got to see her parents.
My main gripe with this movie has to be Constantine. He was annoying for no reason and I think the movie would’ve benefitted from either having him be nicer and more of a character arc, or having him be a full villain who’s using the team for personal gain.
24: Barbie: Mariposa & The Fairy Princess
As a sequel this movie sucks. It doesn’t cover the same themes as the first movie, we don’t get Elina telling the story, the stakes are nowhere near the height as the first one was, and the characters in the first movie don’t get nearly enough screentime. Willa and Carlos’s part in this movie was underwhelming, but I’m especially annoyed by the fact that Rayna and Rayla weren’t even mentioned once. This all probably would’ve been different had the movie been made closer to the original, and I’m extremely confused as to why they waited to make it in 2013.
However if you disassociate it with the first movie it becomes way more enjoyable. I thought Catania was sweet and lowkey ship her with Mariposa (though it still doesn’t compare to the Mariposa/Carlos/Willa OT3). The crystal fairies themselves were an interesting addition to the universe and their designs were really pretty (I actually wish I was still into barbie at the time it was released just so I could’ve got some of the dolls). The increase in animation quality was also a plus. I’m also so happy that after the first movie Mariposa started running a library. It was such a natural progression in her character arc and it’s so perfect. There are still a lot of problems, such as a villain who feels utterly disconnected from the main story, clumsiness and miscommunication being repeatedly used as plot devices, and the annoyingness that are the puffballs. I’m still glad this movie happened and if you liked the first movie you should definitely check this one out too.
23: Barbie And The Secret Door
Oh boy is this one a mixed bag. It was actually the first "new” barbie movie that I saw, but it definitely did the trick of making me want to watch the other ones.
On the positive side this movie is so pretty. I love all the bright colours and the designs for Nori and Romy. Speaking of which, they were such great side characters, and an adorable ship! I especially like Romy since she was so funny and adorable. Plus, the “what’s a boy?” comment made me laugh. I thought that the world building aspect of this movie was really interesting, even if the animal designs weren’t the best.
On the negative side, I feel like the music was extremely disappointing. It got less annoying on my second watch through, so maybe I just have to warm up to it. I also feel like the villain was boring. This movie deserved a more serious antagonist, especially since we saw how terribly she affected the fairies and mermaids. I did overall like princess Alexa, but I’m kind of unsure about her arc relating to responsibility. I think a lot of modern barbie princess movies in general just aren’t as interesting as the ones that take place in the past.
22: Barbie: Dolphin Magic
What a cute movie. I loved Isla’s so much! She and Barbie were so adorable together. The dolphin’s themselves were quite cute too.
This is a very feel good movie, and it almost makes you ignore its flaws. The main thing that annoyed me is why couldn’t they just pick up the dolphin and put him back in the ocean? He’s not even that big, and there isn’t much distance that you’d have to walk with him anyway. The plot and villain aren’t that interesting either, and the sisters were sometimes annoying (such as Staci’s broken foot having no weight on the plot, and Treasure being absolute garbage). Barbie also seems a little too perfect in this movie, which isn’t even true for the rest of the sister movies and they’re all way lower on this list. I also laughed a lot when Barbie called Ken her “Friend”, since apparently romance is too inappropriate for a barbie movie. Still, if you ignore this and just watch all the Barbie/Isla scenes, the movie is really good.
21: Barbie: Fairytopia: Magic Of The Rainbow
Being introduced to all the different fairies in this movie was so much fun. I love all their different personalities and designs, especially Glee, Sunburst, and Lumina. Elina grew so much in this movie, and it truly is the perfect ending to the trilogy. The flight of spring was really cool too. The only real flaw this movie has is how clumsily Elina’s magic abilities are added in. It almost seems like she knew how to use it all along, even if we know she didn’t.
Also Dizzle is the worst. And that one apprentice’s wings being the braids in her hair was FUCKING RIDICULOUS.
20: Barbie In Swan Lake
This movie is definitely the most legitimately beautiful barbie movie out there. The colours are so nice, the dancing is so majestic, and I’d want to live in the forest any day. Odette is one of the prettiest barbie characters and I love her wardrobe. This movie also has two of the most iconic villains of my childhood who make me laugh every time I think of them.
Despite this I still don’t think this is nearly as good as everyone makes it out to be. First off, Odette’s character arc as the ‘chosen one’ wasn’t executed believably, and she wasn’t even that interesting. The romance was way too instalove-y for my taste (even Rapunzel had a more believable romance than this). The message of this movie was also really unclear in the Chelsey scenes. Overall it’s a great fairytale that I have lots of nostalgia for, but it doesn’t hold up as well when you really dig into it.
19: Barbie: Fairy Secret
I love how Barbie and Raquelle’s relationship is expanded upon in this movie. In Fashion Fairytale Raquelle’s motivations were confusing and she felt very flat. I love how we got to see them forced to work together despite their hard feelings and eventually come to forgive each other at the end once they got to the root of their issues with each other. It’s the ideal enemies to loversfriends scenario.
This movie is just really fun. Exactly what a barbie movie should be. Barbie’s stylist friends were great, and the Ken parts were pretty funny. I do overall like the worldbuilding, though Gloss Angelos looked way to small to even be classifed as a city, let alone the biggest fairy city in the world. It’s like 90% castle and 10% actual city.
In the end I always wish that Barbie, Raquelle, and Ken remembered what happened to them, and that’s the most frustrating part about this movie.
18: The Barbie Diaries
Despite being made by a completely different studio than the other movies (and having a downgrade in animation quality), this movie really holds up today. There’s a lot going on here, and it makes the plot seem way more complex than any other barbie movie. We also get to see into barbie’s head a lot more than any other barbie as herself movie, what with her fantasies that we got to see visualized. This movie is just the perfect blend of magic and normal life, and even if I do prefer the fantasy based barbie movies, this one will always hold a place in my heart.
17: Barbie And The 12 Dancing Princesses
There really isn’t much to be said about this movie. It’s just plain good. There’s nice music, a good plot, a great villain, a cute cat character, and a girl obsessed with bugs. What more could you want?
The only thing I don’t like is the wedding scene. It seemed quite out of place. Their relationship wasn’t that important to deserve the last few minutes of the movie.
16: Barbie And The Three Musketeers
Barbie sword fighting is all I’ve ever wanted in life. This movie really broke the mold for what barbie could do. Corinne is a great protagonist, and the other musketeers were great too (even if their personalities weren’t developed that much). I love how important their friendship was and how easily Corinne integrated into their group. This movie is super fun and just makes me want to scream “GIRL POWER” from the top of my lungs.
There were still some drawbacks though. The prince was annoying, I got so tired of that one sound effect that keep on repeating over and over again (if you’ve seen the movie you know what I’m talking about), the cat was way too immature, and while the villain was good, he was not subtle at all. The movie still had a solid storyline, and I loved how it ended with the girls going on another adventure. *sigh* If only this movie had a sequel.
15: Barbie: The Pearl Princess
Lumina is one of my favourite barbie protagonists. She just felt human in a way that not many others do (even though she’s technically a mermaid, not human). She was naive, but not stupid. I loved seeing her react to a world she hasn’t seen before. This movie had such a unique approach with her aunt Scylla. Her aunt may have done something completely wrong, and she admits to that, but Lumina doesn’t ignore the way aunt Scylla has cared for her and loved her over the years. She accepts her found family and her biological family at the same time, and lets her have a chance at redemption. In addition to that I really loved Lumina’s pre transformation outfit. It’s my second favourite barbie mermaid outfit next to Nori’s in Mermaidia.
I also liked how much the animals of this movie felt like active members of society, and had intelligence levels equivalent the mermaids. I’ve never really seen that in a barbie movie, at least to this extent. Kuda was a great animal sidekick who really felt like one of Lumina’s true friends. I also like how Spike looked dangerous but was a real softie on the inside.
There are a lot of other elements of this movie that I liked too, like how sweet Fergus was, and his love of botany. I liked the gag about Caligo thinking he’s being poisoned, and being paranoid about which cup he’s gonna drink from. Even if the Ken character wasn’t utilized much, I liked his dolphin friend. My only complaint is that the climax was a little messy, and I didn’t enjoy Caligo as a villain that much.
14: Barbie In A Mermaid Tale 2
This worked very well as a sequel to the original Mermaid Tale. Eris’s return as a villain felt very natural, and this movie continued to have Merliah feel like a genuine teenager with her own dreams and mood swings. The only reason it’s lower than the first one is because the plot isn’t as all encompassing and it doesn’t feel like Merliah’s life has changed as much as it did originally, if that makes sense. The plot also feels a little too fast at times, but the pacing doesn’t affect the movie drastically.
Kylie was a wonderful addition to the cast. She was mean, but you could clearly tell that it came from her insecurities about her own talent. I cannot emphasize how well her conflict with Merliah was developed. I loved their banter at the beginning and how they came to understand each other at the end, to the point where it didn’t matter who won the competition. It’s just.....SO GAY. I love it.
Speaking of which, Fallon and Hadley were both really cute in this movie too, more so than the first one. I just love how little men there are in the Mermaid Tale movies.
13: Barbie: Princess Charm School
Last time I watched this movie a few years ago I absolutely hated it, but after rewatching it again my opinion has completely turned around. The plot of this movie may still be very basic, and the supporting characters, Princess Isla and Hadley, were very one note, but it’s the strength of the Protagonist, Blair, that really makes this movie. I love seeing her determination in an environment she’s not used to, and how selfless she was even when she’s surrounded by selfishness.
Also can we appreciate how dark this movie was? Dame Devin literally MURDERED Blair’s parents in a car accident. It’s not like that hasn’t happened in any other movie, but in this one the tone just feels a lot more jarring.
I really appreciated Delancey’s character development. She seems so cold and unforgiving at the beginning, but as more information is revealed to her she changes for the better. She was raised in such a negative environment and I can’t help but be proud of her. Her friend Portia was also really funny too. I love the “YOU STOLE MY CAKE” scene.
12: Barbie As The Island Princess
Is there anything better than crazy island girl characters who talk to animals? I think not.
I love Ro’s animal family. Azul and Sagi are essentially Ro and Tika’s dads, and it’s adorable. Azul’s peacock sounds are just absolutely ridiculous, and I love it.
The music of this movie was also soooooo good. Words cannot describe how The Rat Song makes me feel inside. On a more serious note, I Need To Know is absolutely perfect. I love the visuals that go along with it. And just when you think it’s over, Ro’s part ends and Prince Antonio comes in AND IT’S SO PERFECT.  Love Is For Peasants is also the best barbie villain song in any movie. “You need to stop reading those books. Filling your head with thoughts!” ICONIC. The soundtrack of this movie isn’t as good when listening to it outside of the context of movie when you compare it to stuff like the Princess And The Pauper, but it’s still really good nonetheless.
The romantic element of this movie was also really good. I think this is the first time on this list that I’ve listed the romance as a positive aspect. Ro and Antonio are just really compatible people who fulfill very essential parts of themselves when they meet. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I also love Tika’s development in regards to their relationship too.
The villain was pretty okay, but I especially love princess Luciana. She may be a romantic rival to Ro, but she’s a victim too, and she’s given a very sympathetic role in the story even if her mother is the villain. Her arc was very satisfying.
11: Barbie In A Christmas Carol
Not really a typical barbie movie to list as one of my favourites, but it’s a christmas essential for me. Having Barbie be Scrooge was a very risky move, but god, did it pay off. Eden was cruel, but her story is so sad. I always feel her fear when her aunt disrupts Catherine’s party. This is definitely another one of the darkest barbie movies.
Also, GHOSTS. Ghosts should have been in more barbie movies. They all had cool concepts and designs, mainly Aunt Marie and the ghost of christmas future.
Catherine was such a joy to see in this movie. She’s a very kind and selfless person, but her friendship to Eden puts her in conflict with that side of herself. Seeing her fulfilling Eden’s role in the vision of the future was actually kind of scary. It makes it all the more satisfying when Eden apologizes to Catherine in the end. I really love their friendship.
Christmas Carol was always one of my favourite christmas tales after I watched the Mickey version, and I think this movie did it justice (thought it was slightly less traumatizing than that, thankfully).
10: Barbie In The Nutcracker
Even though I’ve had a copy of this for the longest time I never really took the time to watch and appreciate it. And now that I have I’ve gotta say that this was a great start to the barbie saga. The producers still hadn’t settled on making barbie movies the way they’re known for now, and you can tell by the lack of female characters and a few of the 2D sequences, but the sense of adventure this movie has is so unlike any movie that came after. And despite the limited resources they had for animating it still ended up looking stunning. They animators had such a good sense of colour, and all the landscapes looked amazing.
Before watching this I always thought that The Magic Of Pegasus had the best (canon) romance of any barbie movie, but now I actually think that this may be better. Clara and Prince Eric have great chemistry and such a believable bond. The last dance scene was amazing and it so was heartbreaking when Clara was sent back to the real world. I love the scene when Eric visits Clara’s house and confirms that it wasn’t all a dream.
Also, I really appreciate Clara’s decision to stay in the magical world. So much media, including barbie movies, puts emphasis on people staying with their family and choosing more stable environments. What writers don’t realize is that that’s boring. We don’t watch movies to learn about people’s normal lives, and I’m so grateful that this story ended the way it did. So yeah, thanks writers.
There were also many scary moments here too. The rock monster is TERRIFYING. Maybe the reason I don’t remember this movie is because the rock monster traumatized me so much I had to repress it. The Mouse King was also quite creepy. I wish newer barbie movies committed to making scary villains like him.
9: Barbie In A Mermaid Tale
I probably have the most nostalgia towards this movie since it was always my sister’s favourite growing up. Now it’s one of the only barbie movies she’ll watch with me other than the sequel. I expected to not enjoy this movie as much since I’d kind of exhausted it by this point, but I guess I surprised myself.
As I mentioned in Mermaid Tale 2, Merliah feels like a genuine teenager. She likes her normal life and hates responsibility. Because of this her arc of deciding to save her people feels so much more genuine and poignant.
The world building of this universe is just so good. The plot with Calissa and Eris was great, and I love the scene where Merliah is picking out a tail. The world just looks so pretty and magical, even if magic doesn’t play a huge role in this film. The soundtrack sets the scene so nicely, and Queen Of The Waves is definitely one of my favourite barbie songs.
8: Barbie In The Pink Shoes
This is definitely a huge unpopular opinion, so I should get all the negatives of this movie out of the way first. The animation of the faces is extremely creepy, Kristin was very irresponsible to decide to change her routine up at the last minute, and she would’ve worked much better as a choreographer than as a dancer. Despite these flaws there’s still something about this movie that makes me love it.
For one, despite the creepy faces, the dancing animations were still pretty good. And even though Kristin’s arc wasn’t the best I still find her final dancing scenes (the one in the ice palace and the one on stage) to be so inspiring. Keep On Dancing is such an amazing song and it gave me chills the first time I heard it. The movie is also quite pretty. The ballet outfits aren’t as traditional as ones in earlier barbie ballets, but they still have flare and nice colours.
The movie is also really funny. It makes fun of the ballets it covers a lot. I love the “you don’t look a day over 16″ part. The two suitors especially, Hilarion and Prince Albrecht, were so funny. I loved how their petty jabs at each other turned into compliments when faced with adversity. Hayley was also pretty funny since she was the realist of the movie.
I think the irl characters were used very nicely in the ballet world, and I liked how when Kristin got back it turned out that everything wasn’t as bad as it seemed before. Tara wasn’t as mean and Madame Natasha wasn’t nearly as scary. That’s one of my favourite tropes in fiction.
7: Barbie & The Diamond Castle
Liana and Alexa are basically a married couple. There is literally no way to refute this. Their arguments are adorable and domestic, and they clearly love each other more than anything in the world. They may have their differences at times but when it comes down to it they know each other more than anyone else does and work together so nicely. Every aspect of their lives is intertwined so much that separation usually isn’t an option for them. My heart broke when they parted since I knew that that was how Lydia would defeat them. I cried when Liana came to Alexa’s rescue, and the movie ending with them going to back to their normal house instead of staying at the diamond castle was beautiful. Truly the best and purest barbie ship.
Now that that’s out of the way let’s talk about everything else. The plot of this movie is so unique. There is no other barbie movie that’s about music itself. The muses and their drama and betrayal with Lydia was so intriguing. Seriously, Lydia was a scary villain. I was terrified of her as a child. Liana and Alexa seemed like they’re helpless against her powers, and it feels all the more victorious when they defeat her. The last fight scene was truly epic.
I really appreciate how little Liana and Alexa care about the two twins. They’re my least favourite part of the movie, and even if they do start working with them later on in the movie it’s made very clear that they don’t care about them at all.
6: Barbie In Rock ‘N Royals
I really didn’t have high expectations for this one. It was after I had watched The Princess And The Popstar and Secret Door, which both gave me a bad feeling about barbie pop musicals. But this movie really came through and made itself my second favourite barbie musical movie, and my sixth favourite overall.
The only thing I disliked was Courtney’s weird facial design. That’s it. The rest of the movie is basically perfect.
The movie started off at a relaxing pace but I was never tricked into thinking it would end that way. I love the Camp Pop vs. Camp Royalty plotline. Finn and Lady Ann seemed simple at first but their past was revealed at the perfect time. Clive was hilarious and him becoming the real villain was executed so well.
Seeing Courtney and Erika react to the camps was a delight. Their friends were so quirky and nice to them, and the camps themselves were pretty fun too (UNICORNS). Them finally meeting at the beach was such a breath of fresh air. I could imagine them becoming great friends in the future (cough sequel cough). Erika was probably my favourite of the two since she just looked really cool and had a more interesting arc. I just love it when two groups of people who have seemingly nothing in common come together to achieve a common goal. Also I have a theory that Sloan and Princess Olivia were in love the whole time, and the competition was the first time they could smile around each other without being ridiculed by their peers.
Now, onto the music. My favourite song is probably Gotta Get To Camp. I was shocked at how good it was. The choreography was also the most interesting since it was the only time the characters spontaneously burst into song. When You’re A Princess is also such a bop.
This is definitely the first movie I’d recommend to any classic barbie fan who wants to try out some of the new ones.
5: Barbie: Mariposa & Her Butterfly Fairy Friends
This is probably the closest to a perfect barbie movie you’ll get. The protagonist is very relatable, the supporting cast is great, everyone has good development, the world is scary yet so fascinating, and the villains are amazing. Also it has a non barbie protagonist. Having Elina narrate the story was such a great decision. Mariposa really sticks out in the long list of barbie protags. Her transformation scene near the end was so great. It fits the theme of the movie so well and I think that anyone can get inspiration from Mariposa’s journey.
When it comes to characters everyone is so much fun. Carlos is another one of my favourite barbie love interests, even if the movie didn’t commit to the romance fully. He and Mariposa have their love of reading in common and they like each other for non superficial reasons. Willa is also adorable and sweet. It would be very interesting to find out how she and Mariposa met, since they’re so different, yet they’re close friends nonetheless. Rayna and Rayla are both quite interesting cases. When they first showed up I rolled my eyes and thought they’d be tossed out of the way very soon, but they continued through the story and changed as people. They gained respect for Mariposa, and vice versa. Henna was also pretty cool too.
The setting was so interesting too, more than any other Fairytopia movie. Every place looks like it has danger lurking, and he characters genuinely felt small next to the landscape. One of my favourite things in this movie has to be the absolutely horrifying Skeezites. I remember playing the DVD game as a kid and having nightmares about it later.
4: Barbie As Rapunzel
This is probably the scariest barbie movie. Unlike other scary ones like Mariposa and Diamond Castle there’s such an aura of misery and helplessness to this movie that is like no other. Gothel is the main reason for it. The tower just looks so dark and every scene in the normal world has such tension surrounding it. It makes me even more emotional when Rapunzel finally frees herself from the tower.
All the paintbrush scenes are integral barbie moments for any kid growing up. I remember being fascinated by her art, and by how hope came to Rapunzel in her worst moments. We don’t get a real answer to how the paintbrush came to be, but it doesn’t feel necessary. It’s just so beautiful.
I love the animal sidekicks in this movie too. Penelope is so adorable, and I love how she, like Rapunzel, found the courage in herself to stand up and disobey her father. And having a dragon be one of the good guys was a really risky move for the second barbie movie, but it payed off so well.
This was truly an ethereal movie.
3: Barbie And The Magic Of Pegasus
This movie definitely has the most riveting original plot of any barbie movie. Wenlock was a terrifying villain and Brietta’s story is so sad. Plus, barbie standing up for Wenlock’s wives at the end basically invented feminism. I love that it’s about an ice skating barbie, and all the skating scene were so fun too.
Shiver is also adorable. I had a lot of the dolls as a kid and the only things I have left from them are the Shiver toy and the Wand Of Light. Speaking which, that wand was so epic and pretty. The movie was just so aesthetically pleasing.
Annika is another one of my favourite barbie protagonists. Like Merliah, she genuinely feels like a true teenager who's rebelling against her strict parents, and she learns a great lesson. Aidan was also a great mirror for her and when I was younger they were my favourite barbie couple. They have lots of good banter and I really buy their relationship development. I especially love the ice dancing scene at the end.
This movie is a barbie essential for me. It represents so much of my childhood. I used to watch this movie obsessively and it’s just as good now as it was back then.
2: Barbie: Fairytopia: Mermaidia
This is kind of an odd choice for my second favourite barbie movie. This one used to be my #1 favourite before I rewatched the one coming. I was obsessed with mermaids and fairies as a kid and no other movie captured my imagination the way this one did. The land of Mermaidia is so pretty and reminds me of everything I dreamed about as a kid. It also gave me Nori, my favourite non barbie character in any barbie movie and one of my biggest childhood crushes. I love how her sass comes from her insecurities about Nalu, and how she and Elina start to like each other once they see past him.
Elina/Nori is also another contender for my favourite barbie ship. They have nice banter (and I’m sure by now you all know how much I love that) and I love the scene when Elina sacrifices her wings for a tail to save Nori (that’s totally my favourite scene in any barbie movie). I wish we got more of their relationship in Magic Of The Rainbow, but I guess that wouldn’t have fit with the movie. Oh well.
This movie works very well as a sequel, while also being better than the original in every way. We had the same villain, and we got to see a part of the Fairytopia universe that we only saw a glimpse of in the first one. After Elina got her wings it only feels natural that the possibility of her losing them again is explored, as well as the prospect that maybe she doesn’t need wings to be herself. And compared to the original movie the stakes have been raised much higher, we have more reasons to care about the characters, and it’s so much funnier. The fungi annoyed me in the first movie but in this one they made me laugh constantly. And this movie wouldn’t be complete with the amazingness that is opera Bibble.
This movie doesn’t have the best plot, but it doesn’t suffer from it either. It’s one of those movies that just makes me feel relaxed and at peace (other than the Depths of Despair scene, though at this point I’ve seen it enough that it doesn’t phase me as much anymore).
1: Barbie As The Princess And The Pauper
We all knew this was coming. No other barbie movie comes close to this classic. It’s gonna be hard to describe why I love it so much since everything that’s amazing about this movie has already been said a thousand times before, but I’ll give it a go.
Anneliese and Erika are amazing characters. They may come from different social classes but they both have the shared experience of not being able to fulfill their dreams. This movie is so good at showing you how trapped they feel, yet still their duty to their lives never waver. My mom has an interesting story about how she got into this movie. She initially thought that barbie would be a terrible role model for me and my sister until she saw The Princess And The Pauper. Anneliese and Erika are clearly very complex protagonists who have interests outside of romance and are active participants in changing their destinies and saving the kingdom. Especially with Erika, who decides to achieve her dream of becoming a famous singer before getting married to King Dominick.
This movie has a bunch of nice relationships too. Anneliese and Erika click with each other so well and respect each other’s troubles without downplaying their situations due to the class difference. The romances were both nicely developed too. Erika and Dominick may have fallen in love over the course of a day but I appreciate how much he likes her stranger side (like when he walked in on her singing to her cat lmao). Anneliese and Julian’s relationship feels especially believable since they’ve known each other for a very long time. I also really like that they waited for Erika to come back before getting married. OT4 goals.
Preminger is a barbie villain like no other. The rest of my top ten has been dominated by scary and serious villains, but Preminger is just so funny and dramatic compared to them all. He’s the only barbie villain that has became very well known in pop culture.
All of the songs in this movie are so iconic. I think that’s the biggest strength of this movie. I'm constantly listening to music and the soundtrack is a great way for me to take this movie everywhere I go. The Cat’s Meow is a beautiful song, Written In Your Heart feels so inspiring, I Am A Girl Like You is great character study, If You Love Me For Me is a beautiful and tender love song, How Can I Refuse? is an iconic villain song, and Free is a great introduction to the characters, as well as my number one favourite barbie song. Every song has something special about it and that makes it one of the most memorable movie soundtracks ever for me.
I also love the cats Serafina and Wolfie. They’re two of the best animal sidekicks in any barbie movie since they feel a lot like the human characters. THEY ALSO HAVE SO MANY BABIES IN THE END FUCKING GOD.
I hope you all enjoyed my ranking. Feel free to comment with your favourites and least favourites, just be aware that this is all personal to me and really says nothing about the objective quality of each of these movies.

Hunter x Hunter for the Fandom questions! 💕😁
You have activated the trap card!!! 💓 As always, a warning for everyone because this is a very long post -
Top 5 favourite characters: Truthfully, my top five are Shoot, Knuckle, Hanzo, Kite, and Gon. The three uncles, the honorary father, and the son. ❤
Other characters you like: Too many!!! I do love Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio. Kastro I really liked from the Tournament Arc. Melody, definitely! She’s the best. And, of course, Morel. I adore Big Papa Smoke. Palm and Knov, as well. Along with Ikalgo and Meleoron. ❤ Too many good characters.
Least favourite characters: I’ll have to say Illumi and Hisoka. I like them to an extent.
Otps: I am a sucker for Nashuu. 💓 What can I say? I really like Kurapika with Leorio, too.
Notps: Don’t…ship the children with other people please.
Favourite friendships: Gon and Killua of course! They are such a good pair. Shoot and Knuckle are the bestest though. I love them too much. Honestly, I really love when Meleoron and Ikalgo get to be with Gon and the others, especially after the Chimera Ant Arc. It’s so sweet.
Favourite family: Oh, I love Gon and Aunt Mito. 💌
Favourite episodes: There are too many good ones, but you know I have to put 86. For reasons. ❤ The biggest ones for me…were 112 and…118 just becauae of how emotional they made me. Especially 112. That episode made me SOB. After I finished the episode, I had to step away from the computer to breathe, I was crying too much. Not necessarily in a bad way, but I did get really choked up.
Favourite season/book/movie: Favorite season is the Chimera Ant Arc, even though it’s also the absolute worst at the same time. Favorite book is…the very first one! I was about to say Vol 20 or Vol 25, but the very first one makes me so happy. It’s my favorite cover, too! 💚
Tumblr media
Favorite movie I don’t have an answer for. The Last Mission was pretty good, and I know there are at least one or two more I believe? I’ve only seen one though.
Favourite quotes: I absolutely loved it when Knuckle said “Everyone has a heart. That’s what I want to believe.” And…Shoot’s whole inner monologue right before he fights. Even when Shoot explains to Killua how he doesn’t like to hurt people. I still can’t handle them, I get so emotional just thinking about them.
Best musical moment: Well…I know when Pouf plays his violin it is incredibly musical. That’s the only thing I can think of to say here! That scene is so out of place, but the music is lovely at least.
Moment that made you fangirl/boy the hardest: I actually remember when I first got into Hunter x Hunter, and I saw that Hanzo got four badges in the hunting exam, literally was just cheering him on like “Yay Hanzo!!! Good job!!!” 💞 I was so happy for him!! Oh…and when Knuckle was on screen, especially when he would throw off his jacket… 💘💘💘💘💘 Every. Single. Time. My poor, weak heart. At all that fanservice. And!!! When Shoot would fight!!! I would just be mush like! 💓 I just loved seeing Shoot any moment I got, and I still do.
When it really disappointed you: I’m not going to say it because I don’t want to spoil Meve by accident, but it is a huge disapointment for me that still leaves me upset.
Saddest moment: Well… 💔 I won’t say it.
Most well done character death: Uvagin, I guess? I mean, I don’t want to say that, but Kurapika at the time…oh it was rough. 💔 The scene was well done.
Favourite guest star: Hm. Guest stars? I would say Togashi, but I’m clearly thinking about how we’ll see ONE appear in One Punch Man every now and then. Not sure if Madhouse did the same with Togashi dog or anything. – Oh shoot read that question wrong as soon as I wrote all of this, LOL! Oh, now I know who to say!! Junichi Kanemaru! 💓💓💓 He only voiced Buharu during the first season, but ahhh I absolutely adore him! Just hearing his voice again brought back great childhood memories since I know he’s Sonic. 💓 Takaya Kuroda also! He was great as Razor, but you can never not hear him as Kiryu if you know the Yakuza/Ryu Ga Gotoku series. Listening to him as another character in a completely different thing was so funny. It was nice little cameo for my ears for both of them. ❤
Favourite cast member: Yuuji Ueda! 💓💓💓💓💓💓 Of COURSE. Favorite Japanese voice actor. (Can I just say how lovely Shoot’s voice is? It’s breathtaking. 💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞) Along with Wataru Takagi, who is literally one of the best Japanese voice actors ever. He is an absolute gem. 💓 And I love Megumi Han. She was always so into her character and voicing Gon, she was just so passionate for the series. She’s the best.
Character you wish was still alive: Kite. 💔 And Kastro too, he seemed like a nice guy.
One thing you hope really happens: Please just let Gon and Killua rest. Give all the characters a rest. Where’s the filler episodes where they’re all getting together and having a good time and nothing can go wrong? Where’s my dream beach vacation episode?
Most shocking twist: Kite’s death… 💔💔💔 It really makes me upset please stop I want to forget
When did you start watching/reading?: I started watching the anime around March! I’m not sure when I bought the first volume of it though. Maybe in the same month? But yeah, March 3rd is the official date! (Which I was actually trying to figure out when I was deciding a date. I watched the first episode with my love maybe a month or so before I did on my own? But March 3rd was when I started watching it from the beginning. I thought about making it March 5th because…that’s when I first watched Shoot and Knuckle be introduced. You know.)
Best animal/creature: I’m biased to Knuckle’s puppy. 😌 For creature, I like Ikalgo and Meleoron a lot. It took me a bit to warm up to them, but they’re my favorite out of the Chimera Ants.
Favourite location: Whale Island! It is such a beautiful place! If it were real, I would definitely want to visit it.
Trope you wish they would stop using: Nothing that I can think of.
One thing this show/book/film does better than others: A big thing is that…it shows no matter what you go through, no matter what happens, you can definitely try again. And “you can smile again~” 🎵 All of these things slowly go more and more downhill when you follow along the adventure, but after the events of the scariest arc of the series, things do try to get better despite everything that happened during the darkest of times.
Funniest moments: I really can’t think of any super specific ones, but I know there were a lot of little moments Gon and Killua shared that cracked me up so much. Oh, when Gon hit Hanzo during their fight, and Leorio called him a liar for saying he let Gon hit him on purpose!! Ahhh the way Leorio’s voice actor did that line was PERFECT. “LIAR!!!!” I was dying! I also giggled bad at ones Shoot and Knuckle shared, ahh they’re so funny together.
Couple you would like to see: Shoot and I love the thought of Aunt Mito with Kite, for some reason? I think it’s because someone wrote a fic of them meeting, but…it’s a nice thought.
Actor/Actress you want to join the cast: Could you imagine if someone like Hiroki Yatsumoto voiced someone? Or Masaya Onosaka? Ahhhh or even Takahiro Sakurai! Just get Makoto Furukawa to guest star a character along with some other One Punch Man voice actors! It would be a fun time I’m sure.
Favourite outfit: I would say Knuckle. How does he stay looking so good??? His clothes never get dirty. But I do love how Pakunoda dresses. She just looks so lovely, ugghgh
Favourite item: The Hunter cards! ❤ They just look so iconic. Definitely Hotel Raffelasia. Gon’s fishing rod. And Crazy Slots!! Technically not an item himself, but Kite’s scythe is definitely the coolest weapon.
Do you own anything related to this show/book/film?: I do now. ❤
Tumblr media
What house/team/group/friendship group/family/race/etc would you be in?: I would love to be in the little family Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio have together. I do have to say I would want to be apart of the Extermination Team, too! What great groups of friends.
Most boring plotline: I honestly did get bored watching through the Phantom Troupe and Greed Island Arcs when I first watched Hunter x Hunter, but I really need to rewatch them. When I think back on them, I feel like I didn’t appreciate them enough. I might enjoy them more after I watch it from the beginning again.
Most laughably bad moment: Whenever Hisoka shows up and he’s just like that
Best flashback/flashfoward if any: The one during Shoot’s inner monologue, and the one of Gon meeting Kite for the first time. Definitely. Even though Gon meeting Kite was the opening for Hunter x Hunter in the manga. There’s also the one Knuckle has where my most favorite picture comes from. ❤
Most layered character: I jokingly say Shoot because my goodness that man wears layers of bandages, but he really is a layered character. There’s actually a whole bunch of layered characters throughout the series.
Most one dimensional character: I’m honestly not sure.
Scariest moment (and Grossest moment, I’m mixing both questions for my answer): When the Chimera Ants would kill people.
Best looking male: Knuckle. I love my Shoot, but…Japanese pompadoured delinquents make me swoon. They are seriously my biggest weakness. Especially him. 💘💘💘 My poor, weak heart. I can’t even look at him without melting.
Best looking female: Pakunoda and Palm. Both women are beautiful in their own way. And Melody is of course very warm and sweet, I adore how she looks. ❤
Who you’re crushing on (if any): …Shoot… ❤💍
Favourite cast moment: When Megumi Han got really emotional speaking at one of the panels for The Last Mission in front of fans. It was so genuine and sweet.
Favourite transportation: I always loved the shuttle train! When Gon and Killua used to get to the tournament, and when Morel and the others traveled together. ❤ It makes me wish I could go on long and cozy train rides to different places like that in real life.
Most beautiful scene (scenery/shot wise): When Gon was hiding out to watch Hisoka in the bushes, and the sun shown through the trees. Anytime a scene would be in a forest or in walkways of trees, really! The way the sunlight shines through the trees and leaves in patches over the vast green surrounding is just so pretty. I just love the colors, contrast, everything. Oh! And when Knuckle was punching Youpi!!! Like ahhhhhh Madhouse!!! Every once in a while in Hunter x Hunter that fluid Madhouse animation would just hit you!
Unanswered question/continuity issue/plot error that bugs you: I wish we could have seen what Kite’s other rolls (weapons) were. 💔 Along with Hanzo’s, Knuckle’s, and Shoot’s backstories! We know just a bit about Knuckle’s past, but nothing about Hanzo nor Shoot really. I would want to know why they all became hunters!
Best promo: Hm…I haven’t seen promos or anything at all for the series. This wouldn’t fit the answer I don’t think, but I loved the little “To Be Continued” ending scenes with Gon and Killua. They were so cute! I actually missed them during the Chimera Ant Arc.
At what point did you fall in love with this show/book: Honestly, I’m not sure. I just ended up really liking it just by watching it from the beginning. Watching the first episode over at my love’s house piqued my interest in the series, but then a few weeks or so later I started watching it all the way through, and the rest was history. Everything blurs together for me because I literally blew through episodes watching them, but I had fun watching them all. And…even though the Chimera Ant Arc leaves me heartbroken and sickened, characters like Knuckle and Shoot came out of nowhere, and I was so excited to see them in such an awful part of the story. They were a breath of fresh air. And, of course…I got to meet Shoot. A character I will cherish and keep in my heart for the rest of my life. I already talk about him to death, but he came into my life at the perfect time. He gives me strength. I truly am happy I found Hunter x Hunter and just got into it.
