Chapter 1: Every night the same dream, every morning the same nightmare
Stephen's lips are on your neck, peppering hot open-mouthed kisses, biting near your collarbone, and soothing with his hot tongue immediately. His hands are on your waist, never stopping in one place for too long, reaching higher and higher up to your full breasts. Your hands are in his salt and pepper hair, messing it even more and even tugging a bit harshly when his teeth bite more painfully. Your hot breath and occasional moans are in his ear, it's not annoying, on the contrary, it turns him even more.
"Stephen" you manage to breathe out. The way his name leaves your kiss-swollen lips sends him into another universe. Not literally though. He retreats and studies you with dilated pupils and a lust-filled look.
"What? Am I too harsh?" he catches his breath, and even though his question is full of worry, this emotion doesn't reach his face.
"No, silly. But we should really go to my room, anyone can come to the library, you know. Especially Mordo." you roll your eyes as you say the name.
"Yeah, that little fucker may interrupt us." Stephen signs and rests his head on your chest.
"Plus," you say in a teasing voice as your kiss gets lost somewhere in his hair.
"Mm?" his voice comes out a bit muffled by your official robes.
"I want you to rip these robes off me." a smile forms on your face, and Stephen quickly pulls his head up and looks you in the eyes.
"Oh, baby, with pleasure" a quick kiss to your lips and not a minute later he's opening a portal to your room.
You both fall on your bed and begin rolling together. Clothes and limbs mingled together, hot breaths, needy moans and in a matter of time, the room's temperature is going through the roof of Kamar-Taj.
Stephen's lack of air in his lungs signals that it's time to breathe, so he hesitantly pulls away from your mouth. His hands are always busy, he waits for nothing and is now untying, or trying to untie, your robes.
"Fuck me, how many layers are there" he signs almost frustrated.
"You know the tradition, Strange, those who finished training have to change their robes. Although that red color makes me sick now." you sign as well, hands now busy with his bright blue robes.
"I'm proud of you babes, finally out of the lower league, one step closer to me." he steals a kiss in a spare moment.
"Yeah. You AND Mordo. Can't believe they think he's actually 'a valuable member of your organization' you say with air quotations and roll your eyes once again. Stephen huffs out a laugh and finally gets you out of the first layer of robes.
"I know how you feel about him, he gets on my nerves too, trust me. I want to punch him as much as you do. But The Illuminati needed more members working in the magic sphere rather than in labs. They said keeping in touch with the real-world may benefit us. But now as I'm one of the leading members, and you finished your training" he says kissing your now bare shoulder, "I will get you to work with me at any cost", another kiss is planted right under your ear. You slightly shiver. He smiles. "So that we can spend as much time together as we can, darling".
"What about Christine? Not worried that your old heartache will distract you?" you ask the question that was on your mind since he told you about their past together.
"No more Christine, just you, only you" he cups your cheeks with his still a bit trembling hands and waits for your response. You're silent, but the look in your eyes says a million words, and they all mean that you believe him.
Another passionate kiss is shared between the two not-so-secret lovers, breaths mixing, bodies and souls becoming one, until...
Until a knock on your doors wakes you up.
"Y/n wake up, it's time for training." You say nothing but angrily glare at the door as if your eyes could burn a hole through them, as well as the person standing behind.
"Are you up for the love of God? Y/n!" an even louder noise reaches your ears.
"Yes, I'm up! You stupid bastard." You murmur the last part, although Mordo knows that you might call him like that.
The footsteps get more and more silent until you're left with your own miserable thoughts and alone again.
"A dream. All this was a fucking dream" you sign and sit in your bed. Sheets wrapped around your legs, hair messy, pillows lost on the ground. You miss him so damn much, but even though it could've been avoided, you know one thing – Stephen, for some known as Strange Supreme, Earth-838 Stephen, did what he thought was right. He did what he had to do.
As the dream ended, the daily nightmare for you began.
Chapter 2: Strange meetings, Strange turns
After a long morning of training the beginner students, you decide to go to New York. You just can't stand spending the whole day being watched by Mordo whose eyes are following your every step. He was still the same Mordo, even when Stephen was alive, you always felt someone's eyes on your back. Creeps continue being creeps, and he was one of them, for sure.
Putting on your sling ring, you fix your robes before they change colors from olive to sky blue - a little detail that was disliked by the ones who worshiped Mordo as the Sorcerer Supreme and supported by those who still lingered in Strange's era as a Sorcerer Supreme. Your robes were a little tribute to Stephen. Sky blue - just like his eyes.
A portal is opened to New York Sanctum and you step onto the curb. Streets are full of people buzzing around, all silently living the same lives, only in different forms. No one really pays much attention to you, but those who do, greet you with smiles. They remember you. But soon a memory of you will fade away, you're pretty sure of it.
Right on the other side of the street stands tall, a glorious statue. The Illuminati built the statue as a tribute to Stephen's sacrifice but honestly, they just created a false feeling of safety for the people. You despised it but deep down you knew that it was the only thing left in the world that looked like him. Of course, if we don't count the 'Strange Museum' which seemed like a total nuts idea but Xavier was persistent on it.
Only Cloaky manages to bring a smile to your face there, although, trapped under the big glass box, it can't do much. Stephen wanted to leave it to you, he told you that after they beat Thanos, and he announced his decision, his heroic way to go out. Peggy was heavily against the idea. So that's how Cloaky turned into a piece of clothing again.
No one in the Illuminati really liked you, except Charles and probably Black Bolt, although the latter is not a very expressive guy. Maria is so full of herself, but she's really good, even if you hate her, the respect is always there. Mordo? Oh, when he learned that he was gonna be officially in the Illuminati, he almost pissed his pants. But he had to bring you with him as well. Dead man's last wish.
Your daily brooding before the Strange statue is interrupted by an impatient tap on your shoulder. Still lost in your memories, you turn your head and see a young girl with a bit bruised cheek and dressed very... American?
"Hm, excuse me, Miss, do you know where's the Master of the Sanctum?"
"The Ma-" you turn your head and in the Shadow of the Sanctum you see a strangely familiar face. Your legs feel like they were cemented into the pavement and mouth rudely open, you stared at the man. Finally, some part of you came back into your body, and you managed to say one word, in which you put all your feelings and emotions "Stephen?"
"Do I know you?" a little gruff voice answered, or rather asked a question.
But before you said anything, the girl on your right exclaimed, "you know him? Thank God."
You stepped a bit closer, so you could see him better. Strange looked at America a bit alarmed, but your robes made clear that you and him were forged in the same magical workshop. His face was bruised too. A different Cloak, maybe this one looked better on him. Blue robes, although a different shade. These brought out the color of his eyes. Hm. And a goatee? Weird. Your Stephen always liked to be clean shaved, but you would be lying if you said that a beard didn't suit him. Full lips, oh those lips that she wished to kiss once more. You took another step closer and almost wanted to touch his cheek, but halfway retreated. The look on his face was unreadable, but you knew that he was searching for an image of you somewhere in the depths of his genius-brain.
"I really don't remember you" he finally said after a long silent moment when you did not answer him. "Were you one of the students at Kamar-Taj or something?"
"I... I'm y/n" you stretched your hand towards him. Good manners, or just desperation for some kind of contact with him? Both.
Strange eyed you suspiciously before stretching out his own hand, and when your hands finally made contact, you felt alive again.
"I'm a sorceress and now an apprentice of the current Sorcerer Supreme." you finished your sentence with a hardened face. For America, you looked serious but for Strange the emotion in your face felt different.
You remembered the girl beside you and stretched your hand as well, America didn't hesitate and eagerly took it. The feeling of happiness returned to your body, but it never felt that way before.
"So, your Master is not Strange?" Stephen got straight to business, just like he always did.
"No, it's-" you didn't get to finish, as the Sanctum's door was opened widely and the face you dislike the most appeared in the doorway. Strange turned back to look at you in disbelief, and you just rolled your eyes.
Mordo's glance fell to you, and you saw how his eyes made these angry little lightnings - he never liked when you wore your bright blue robes, especially in public. His reasoning was that 'you might remind people of Stephen too much, and their hearts still did not heal for the loss of our brother'. Yeah? Eat shit.
"Oh, shit." Strange says.
"You know him?" America asks, looking between the three of you. You stay silent, a hard look in your eyes.
"Yeah. Mordo. He's actually the first guy who let me into Kamar-Taj." Mordo steps out the door, getting closer to you.
"Oh, great." the girl smiles and looks at you expectantly, but you don't return the smile.
" And then he snapped and dedicated his life trying to kill me." Stephen finishes.
"Oh... Great."
"I always suspected this day would come." Mordo finally says as he reaches Strange. Yeah, yeah, as if he saw the fucking future.
"You did?" Stephen asks in disbelief.
"Yes. Because you always suspected this day would come. My brother." a fake smile on his face, he comes to hug Stephen, but Mordo's eyes never leave your figure. You don't break the eye contact with him. The whole scene reeks of awkwardness, and both you and America are glad that the hug is over.
" Come, and tell me everything... About your universe." Ugh, fucking suck up. Your eyes are going to be stuck on the back of your head from all the rolling, you were pretty sure about that.
Strange looked at you and America "We go on red" he shrugged and stepped into the Sanctum, America followed him. For a moment, you were left alone with Mordo. He looked at you and with a fake smile and honey-filled voice tried to tame you.
"y/n, will you help me?"
"With what? You want to hurt them?" you whisper, shout, afraid that the guest might still be somewhere in the doorway.
"you know they need to be inspected. Coming from God knows where, they might endanger our universe, y/n."
You say nothing and turn to go inside, but Mordo's strong arm catches your elbow and traps you. "Please, y/n. You know, our Stephen would think it's the best decision. And, can you please change your robes. Not the best time to be a rebellious girl" he whispers in your ear, too close for your liking.
"Fine." you spit out through gritted teeth and with one pull on your belt, the robes change their color from baby blue to that sickening green - almost the same as Mordo's. Without waiting a moment longer, you free yourself from his grasp and step into the Sanctum that once was your favorite place in the world, but now carried too many bad memories.
Chapter 3: Queen of White Lies
Inspired by the song of The Orion Experience <3
Some cooking fight-off was going on the TV while you were scratching Stephen's head that was lazily laying in your lap. With a book in his hands, he was not paying attention to the TV, but neither were you.
This was one of those peaceful moments where you let yourself relax and not worry about tomorrow. Alone with a man you love, you felt at peace.
"Did they burn the buns again?" Stephen asked in a sleepy voice.
"Hm? What buns?" you ask puzzled.
"The buns. The TV?" he points to the screen without taking his eyes off the page.
"Oh." you get back to your senses and for a moment you look at the scene on the TV. "Oh yeah, again."
"You all right? You seem to be distracted a lot lately." he says and finally looks at your face.
"Yes, yes, of course. Just, you know, thinking," you say as your hand now slides along his clean shaved jawline.
"About what?" he pretends to be focused, but your hands once again proved to be a great distraction.
"Us." He closes his eyes and hums at your answer.
"Us? What exactly about us, darling?"
"You want to plan a future with someone like me?"
"Our future." you say, and he opens his eyes and sits up. The sudden action causes the book to fall to the ground, and you slightly flinch at the sound.
His hand touches your face and a rough thumb caresses your soft cheek.
"Yeah, is that so hard to believe?" you smile. He always thought so little of himself, especially when it came to the love sphere.
He huffs a laugh and pulls you into a hug. "You know that you're the queen of white lies?"
"Oh? If I'm the queen, then I want you to rule the kingdom of lies with me" your smile is bright, and he feels as if you lit up a whole room with it.
"Well, we can team up and beat that attitude out of Mordo, for starters. Then, we can leave New York and go somewhere nice, maybe visit Europe?" Stephen's tone is playful, you see a glint in his eyes.
"I hope you do realize that we both can open portals to any place?" you tease back.
"It's more fun to travel in a packed plane with babies not shutting up the whole flight," he laughs.
"I'll travel with you even to the end of the world, Stephen Strange." you admit.
He kisses you. Not passionately, but sweetly, putting his love into the kiss. His eyebrows knit together - your lips taste like chocolate and coffee, so sweet, so unique and just so you.
"You know, I really like the name," you say, as well the two of you finally pull apart. "Queen of White Lies."
"Don't tell y/n," he says in a whisper, almost stopping himself from smiling like a fool, "but I stole that from a song."
"Don't worry, I won't, King of Fools, I won't tell your secret lover." you laugh, also knowing exactly what song he was referring to.
He put his head back into your lap and glances at the TV again. Two guys were fighting for their lives with the lobsters.
"They are definitely going to lose." you laugh, hands back again in his hair, slowly messing it.
"Oh yeah, just wait till Ramsay sees this," he grabs your hand and slowly kisses each of your knuckles. The sweet moment between the two of you lasts shorter than you wanted, but long enough to be engraved in your memory forever.

Dr Strange: Multiverse of Madness - Quick Review
Tumblr media
So I'm out of the Cinema, the credits have rolled and Dr. Strange: Multiverse of Madness is in the books. Reviews so far have been on both sides of the spectrum, but what did I think of Sam Raimi's return to Marvel?
Spoilers for the Movie, you have been warned
So I liked it, I can understand why some people don't think it's great, Raimi's direction was a bit odd at times too.
There is a lot of stuff which doesn't quite match up, the title seems a bit of a false promise because we only visit like 3 or 4 universes long enough to see a variant, Loki showed more variants. I also feel like the plot went the 'difficult route' with Wanda deciding to not pursue this magic book that gives you 'exactly what you want' and instead tries to steal her variant's children, I mean I get that the Darkhold is corruptive - I watched Agents of SHIELD so Stephen coming out with a third eye relieved me because for a moment I feared Stephen would have zero consequences from using it...until it was treated as no big deal in the mid-credits scene, the electric guitar riff was distracting too - and it was supposed to show Wanda's descent but surely she would also want that power? These magical books are also very fragile. I also don't see how all these universes have Wanda's kids but no Vision, he could've played a key part in establishing conflict with Wanda.
I admittedly take issue with how they did the Illuminati, Marvel had to do the typical MCU thing of making anticipated and things comic fans were looking forward to look like clowns. I don't really get their logic either, like Strange is trying to get out of their universe and they're stopping him and America, also this 'Dr. Strange is the bigger threat to the Multiverse' seems like a dumbass conclusion from them; their Strange was corrupted by the Darkhold, Wanda is coming for them having been corrupted by the Darkhold, and their conclusion is Strange is the problem? Not the evil magic book that corrupts whoever reads it? Also pretty fresh coming from Reed 'Council of Reeds/The Beyonder/Intentionally Gave the Four the Zombie Virus' Richards... Also they got clowned in the fight, I mean I get we were selling just how powerful Wanda was but I laughed in disbelief that the MCU had a chance to fix the atrocious Inhumans series and instead decided to bitch out poor Anson Mount's Black Bolt again by killing him like that. It should've more ripped a hole where his mouth should be than popped his brain but it was a truly idiot move from Reed 'Smartest Man in the World' Richards to tell Wanda his powers - we could've just had Wanda seal the mouth and have Wanda kill him another way. Maria's Captain Marvel didn't do it for me, she was at least a match for Wanda but she seemed to have adopted Carol's bitchiness towards Strange. It was nice to see Captain Carter but she shouldn't have lasted as long as she did against Wanda if Reed was ripped up like a cheesestring in seconds, and it did hurt that Marvel brought back Patrick Stewart's Professor X just to kill him a THIRD TIME...Maybe I mean Xavier does have ways of coming back, Mordo felt quite underused too.
On the plus side though this is perhaps the best exploration we've had with Stephen in terms of his personal happiness, and his tragic connection with Christine. Tragic is definitely the optimal word we use for Wanda as well, while her method was a bit long-winded her motivation was clear and believable - helped greatly by Olsen's great acting and time on Wandavision.
America Chavez's character and growth was really nice, she interacted well in the movie and at a good time so we could explore the multiverse at a greater scale, Phase 4 has done really well so far in establishing a Young Avengers group. And thankfully Wong didn't die, I was worried they'd have Wanda off him so Strange would be Sorcerer Supreme again but he lives to kick Abomination ass and Karaoke with Shang Chi and Katy (who I did wonder whether they'd show here or in a post-credit scene) another day.
Aside from that electric guitar, the music was great, especially the old X-Men theme riff with Xavier's appearance. And there were a lot of great visuals from the film and the multiverses we did visit, zombified Strange - while as Wanda pointed out super hypocritical - did make for an interesting magic battle at the conclusion, as did Wanda seeing how much of a monster she had become. While I didn't like the mid-credits scene I did get a kick out of the post-credits one, Sam and Bruce at it again, Sam did get some jumpscares out of me too.
As for implications, as well as seeing the likes of Xavier and Reed we look to be setting up the Incursion, which is smart of Marvel as well. For those unaware the Incursion was an event in comics which had two universes about to collide, the Illuminati were used to try and find a preventative measure for this too. Usually Incursions would involve Molecule Man, but since he doesn't exist in the MCU yet the use of the Incursion would play as a Phase-level threat for the MCU, and could be the opening to blend heroes from another universe together via Battleworld, most importantly the Four, Mutants and Doctor Doom (regular or a more exciting prospect, God Emperor Doom). Battleworld as a concept also makes sense given how Kang the Conqueror is related to Reed, so even if they didn't want to bring in the Beyonder just yet they could use Kang in his place.
So overall, it was worth the ticket, but I wasn't too blown away with the story, not the worst MCU film I've seen though I guess it just didn't quite exceed expectations like No Way Home did when they used the Multiverse.

To anyone else who's seen the new Doctor Strange.....does the fact that the Wanda on the Illuminati Earth is just some suburban mom bug anyone else?
Because, for one, it's implied mutants exist on this Earth since professor X is there and that universe is a bit more comics faithful with the heroes it has. And that Wanda is shown to have powers, so she shouldn't she be Magneto's daughter? Which means, shouldn't she be, like on the Avenegers or the X-men or the brotherhood of Evil mutants? Like, yeah its an alternate universe, but how did she end up becoming some Suzy homemaker? Because she's either got her MCU canon backstory or her comics backstory, neither of which would lead to her becoming a suburban mom with two normal kids unless this is some other version of the Hex from Wnadavision. Plus, she treats waking up after being possessed by an alternate version of herself and taken to a spot between universes...as a totally normal occurrence implying she's not fazed by weird superhero stuff happening....so, was she a superhero? A villain? An anti-hero? It just feels like It raises SO many questions that the movie doesn't answer.

Peggy and Y/N walk out to intercept the Scarlet Witch…
Y/N: hey baby
Wanda: do I know you?
Peggy: you didn’t look at the family photos? Wanda, seriously, love.
Wanda’s eyes soften…
Wanda: oh…it’s not fair. Why am I so loved in this universe and not in my own?
Y/N: you can be. I exist there. Just find me and I know I’ll be crazy about you. Also maybe don’t hunt Chavez.
Peggy: seriously that girl is hurting and wanting a family as much as you.
Wanda: I-I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.
The Scarlet Witch leaves Wanda’s body…
Peggy and Y/N catch their Wanda…
Wanda: detkas? How did I get here?
Peggy: we’ll explain over cuddles after we tuck the boys in tonight, love

No lie, the alternate Mr. Fantastic being the “world’s smartest man” (and having the scientific achievements to back it up) but also so lovably dumb that he gets the entire Illuminati killed by impulsively mentioning what Black Bolt’s powers are to Wanda is the most hilariously accurate-to-the-comics thing in the world.

How I would’ve marketed “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”:
1) Don’t even mention the Illuminati. Don’t hype up any of the cameos, especially since they’re not that important in the long run.
2) Release the movie in October and hype the HELL out of it as Marvel’s Halloween special. Basically, the “Hawkeye is a Christmas show” treatment.
3) Focus on the overall spookiness/horror vibes of the movie. And I don’t mean a horror trailer like “Insidious” or “The Nun” where the focus is on scaring people. I mean a horror-inspired trailer, something along the lines of “Nightmare Before Christmas”. Horror elements, but you let the audience know that this is still a superhero movie.
4) Still mention the use of the multiverse, but don’t go too deep into it. Focus more on the movie being Doctor Strange and Wanda’s journey THROUGH the multiverse, not so much being ABOUT the multiverse. Does that make sense? I’m trying to say that this is more of a character journey rather than world-building, which a lot of people thought this movie would be due to the Illuminati and the multiverse.
5) Hype the hell out of this being Sam Raimi’s return to horror and filmmaking. “Eternals” really caught everyone’s attention by pointing out that the director just won an Academy Award. Marvel should’ve done something similar for Raimi, especially since DSitMoM was basically Evil Dead 4.
