I’m loving this narrative of “talking it through” in this fucking show. Usually in shows they have this trope where two sides are fighting, killing each other or some other violence and for a moment they decide to talk things out. At first it goes well and then someone says one thing and it’s right back to killing each other. I hate how shows do this all the time because it gives you the narrative that talking it through is unsustainable. Which is so so damaging because talking it through is the best way to truly resolve something and I think having that actually validated by a show is so important and helps people realize that they can do it too. I’m so glad that finally there's a show that sees it through, takes it seriously. That admits “talking it through” can work and does work. One of the many reasons this show is fucking amazing.

I'm curious, is there anyone else out there who witnessed "classic" internet horrors/disturbing (all nsfw, if you know you know) content in the early 2000's (so being over 10 but younger than 16) and came out...fine, relatively speaking of course, like no repercussions because of said videos/content?

I haven't seen everything out there but I've seen a few videos that definitely disturbed me as a teen but I've never felt super affected by them other than feeling disturbed in the moment and then moving on with my life.

#for context uhmm how do i explain this #so around a few weeks after Jd arrives Bruce is like “Hey... where are the others?” #and Jd is like “ooooh 🤪🤪 he doesnt know...” #Since at this time JD believes that the entire tribe is dead. including his brothers and grandma #so Jd has to take Bruce to the now abandoned troll tree and give him the bad news #Bruce doesnt believe it at first. even if the tree is abandoned they cant be dead? right?? they cant be #so he rushes over to their grandma's pod. thinking that theyre just in hiding and waiting for them to return #and all Bruce is able to find in the empty pod is Branch's old stuffed toy Croco #which solidifies to Bruce that everyone is dead. their friends their family. everyone #Bruce is obviously devastated by the news. he doesnt show it a lot but he doesnt take it too well #he ends up bringing Croco with him back to Vacay Island and patches Croco up #since Croco is a bit worn out due to being left in the pod for years #and since then Bruce always keeps Croco hidden in his hair. both as a memoir of his baby brother #and also a reminder of how he failed as an older brother... ouch #ofc the others arent dead. its just that now both Jd AND Bruce believe that the rest of the trolls are dead #also King Trollex is there bc i wanted to put him there. I still don’t understand how the fandom decided that MIKE was the more emotionally closed off one out of the two of them.

Mike, who spills his guts every time Will so much as looks at him in S4, who calmly explained to El how she hurt him after Will’s body was found in S1, who is famous for giving heartfelt monologues, and is literally seen as the HEART of the Party.

And Will, who lied to his mom about the mind flayer in S2, AND to Mike about the painting, just so he wouldn’t be a bother. Who pretended to like baseball just because it would make Lonnie happy. Who hasn’t told a single soul about being in love for YEARS, and would happily take that secret to his grave.

Yeah, Mike cries less. That doesn’t mean that he isn’t extremely emotionally intelligent, or that Will isn’t constantly suffering in silence. Mike works through his emotions logically, Will bottles them up until he breaks down. The only times Mike actually hides his emotions is when he’s scared. The only times Will DOESNT hide his emotions is when he’s with Mike or Jonathan.

am i the only one who still thinks that they didnt do enough with rouge in sonic prime. and not in a "she didnt get enough screentime" sort of way but in a "they didnt seem to be putting as much thought into what they were doing with her as they were with the other main characters" sort of way
