The "for you" meant both of them! (Most likely not only Sylvie and Mobius, but also the tva crew.)

The German subtitles translate it with plural, of course, since there's 2 people standing there.

There's no logical evidence that one person is singled out here.

Sylvie said "he gave us a chance" when she saw Loki walking out to the loom, pointing out that Loki was doing this for everyone.

So the narrative confirms it too.

(The "it's about who" also meant the whole crew as confirmed by the writer himself in an interview btw, but you all put your fingers in your ears and go lalala about that.)

Clowning is one thing, but erasing the whole narrative of a show for a fanon m/m ship is not only annoying, it kinda ruins the show discourse.

The ATLA fandom is interesting. There's been uproar about Katara's personality changing in the live-action... Besties, don't you think there's a reason why they did that? Absolutely devastated as I come to terms with the fact that Zuko has become my least favourite member of the Gaang (yes, including Suki) almost completely due to the atla fandom.

Like I still enjoy him, right. But he used to be my favourite character, I found him relatable and interesting and he really helped me get through a lot of my own trauma.

But now? Between the Zutara/Kataang ship wars, and the Fire siblings discourse and everything else? God, he's become so mutilated as a character I really need to strain myself to enjoy him.

Similarly with Katara. She's just stopped being a character to me when it comes to fandom. She's been emptied of everything she is and just made to be a vessel, her metaphorical face pulled over whatever female archetype you choose, like a mask. And like no shit she's a vessel, she's the audience insert most of the time. But her interpretation by the fandom feels like you've taken the lifeblood of hundred of the last few years YA protags and shoved them into this 14 year old child like she's some sort of sock puppet.

Sure, you're allowed your own interpretations of characters, but watching characters thet used to be so defined and unique get boiled down to puerely their bones is horrific and painful.

I need to make a post about how Katara is forcefully matured by the fandom but yall are not gonna like it.

Suguru Geto is a fucking eugenicist and I'm tired of people just brushing that aside to make silly gay fanart of him: an essay.

Hi hello JJK tag I have come to drop one singular essay to you and I do hope you'll at least listen, since it is a serious issue that needs to be addressed.

Before we get into the meat and potatoes of this essay, lets first define eugenics and why it's bad. Strictly speaking, eugenics is the movement for "racial purity" that requires the planned reproduction of people only within narrowly defined racial categories, as well as the elimination of undesirables within a population (oftentimes people of color, disabled people, and queer people) via sterilization or death. The movement began in the late 19th century and continues to some extent to this day. You can read more about it here if you're interested.

Eugenics goes hand in hand with other forms of bigotry and manifests in how people refer to each other, including some of the ways that Geto refers to non sorcerers within the manga, even before his death and subsequent possession of his body by a spirit. Geto refers to regular humans as "monkeys" and cleans himself in response to coming into contact with him. This sounds familiar, doesn't it?

This wording is very intentional on the part of Akutami and the translator. Geto is a villain and meant to be someone we see in disgust and while there are sympathetic villains in other series and I'm not going to say that you can never like villain characters (some of my own favorite characters are villains who have done fucked up things before), there is a difference between the two. Geto is specifically a representation of eugenicist, racist, xenophobic beliefs that exist in the real world. He is not someone who is fed up with the system, he is not someone who just wants to fuck around and find out.

This comment here further emphasizes my point. One of the core ideas behind scientific racism and eugenics is the idea of biological races or that people with different skin tones have different, distinct biological functions in their body. An example of this in our world involves GFR production and "race corrections" in kidney tests (source) that are only just starting to be phased out in the medical field. The idea of needing a race correction for something like kidney function is a product of scientific racism and indirectly plays into eugenics. Denying that people are the same race or even species as you because of uncontrollable factors (sorcerer abilities, skin color, country of origin, sexuality, gender, etc) is uh. Not a good thing!

"Monkeys" is a word that comes up frequently with Geto's talks on non sorcerers as well. It's a loaded term and again a deliberate choice on behalf of both Akutami and the translator to use it. Historically, due to scientific racism in the field of evolutionary science specifically, black people and people of color were assumed to be more closely related to monkeys and therefore "less evolved" than white people. It's a loaded word used with intention by Geto and by Akutami in the writing of Geto's character.

IN CONCLUSION can we please stop woobifying Geto as a character. His ideals and goals are an important part of him and watering him down to do gay shit with Gojo is really not what we should be doing with him in fan works. Yes Gojo's reaction to losing his friend to essentially the far right pipeline of eugenics and fascism is realistic and it's okay for Gojo to feel hurt and betrayed by this, but the reality is that Geto broke away because he believed so strongly that the world needed to be cleansed of non sorcerers and Gojo eventually accepted that he lost his friend, no matter how much it hurt to let go. This is an important part of Gojo's character arc and development but to ignore the everything about Geto's beliefs and never acknowledge them, or god forbid make JOKES about this stuff is a surefire way to make sure disabled people and people of color don't feel safe talking with you.

Notes:

I cannot stop you from shipping Satosugu or any other Geto ship. This essay was meant to inform people of the deeper meaning behind Geto's beliefs and maybe help some people see that real life issues are reflected in the media they consume. JJK is not a work that shies away from handling harder topics and this is no exception.

You have to be reading the BSD manga and novels with your eyes closed to even compare the level of relationship between Dazai and Chuuya to Satoru and Suguru.

They aren't on the same level and SatoSugu is even lower than Shin Soukoku.

I'm very sorry that SatoSugu black and white stuff can't even compare to Akutagawa and Atsushi's black and white (Atsuhi literally has white hair with black strip and Akutagawa has black hair with white strips).

Sorry but Geto isn't Chuuya and Satoru isn't Dazai. Suguru didn't have the same impact that Chuuya's existence had on Dazai (or anything close).

"My one and only" isn't the same as Chuuya making Dazai's suic!dal ass give life a chance. And this was way before Dazai and Oda even met.

"I believed a man like you wouldn't kill bunch of my students" (when in JJK 0 Geto mutilated Maki, Panda and Toge, lucky them that Yuta knew Reverse Cursed Technique) isn't the same as everybody and their mother telling Chuuya about Dazai being dead but him still using Corruption that could very well kill Chuuya himself and everything around him if Dazai trully was dead). He believed Dazai was alive WITHOUT DAZAI EVEN CONSULTING HIM, They need no words to know (and trust) each other.

SatoSugu isn't the same as Soukoku when Dazai spent every second and every minute of last 7 years thinking and dreaming of how to kill Chuuya (as he tells Sigma).

Atsushi's "just the two of us" and Akutagawa's "is there a need for more" is more impacful than SatoSugu's tragedy. Sorry, not sorry, but in canon some people don't even care about Geto.

Looking at a lot of Loustat shippers and how they view/talk about Louis, is making me think of the BtVS fandom, the first fandom I joined when I was 16/17.

Anyway, a lot of the Spuffy shippers were out there calling Buffy derogatory names, saying SHE was the actual abusive one in the relationship, writing the most vile essays/fanfiction about her needing to be brought down a peg and admit she was wrong and Spike was right, saying the show was boring without Spike, despite Buffy being the main character, could not talk about Buffy as a character separate from Spike, propping up James's acting skills over Sarah's, made it sound like Spike was a better parent to Dawn than Buffy was (?), saying that the other men she was in romantic relationships with were much more abusive than Spike, excusing Spike for basically all of his actions and woobifying him because of his trauma....

and then you'd have the more critical Spuffy/non-Spuffy shippers (mainly woc) pointing out the blatant misogyny and victim-blaming in this way of thinking, pointing out how Spike represents some of the worst aspects of racism and the patriarchy, both textually and subtextually, even providing scholarly articles and literature to back up their claims, and asking why do you even ship Spuffy if you hate Buffy? Which of course received extreme backlash and harassment from people racing to defend Spike themselves, saying, no of course they didn't hate Buffy, but Spike is more complex than you're making him sound, and no he's not a racist or hates women, he's actually a feminist and a punk/anarchist and doesn't kill based on race, you're just a vile sjw and an anti who loves ruining everyone else's fun.
