you know i used to think it was weird how sora and roxas have such different personalities for supposedly being 'the same person' but after playing a few games i sort of realized that they do have similar personalities, because roxas acts how sora does when he's under extreme stress.
compare roxas to sora in, say, kh1. that's where a lot of peoples idea of sora's personality comes from. sora is generally very upbeat and optimistic in that game. not very similar to roxas, right?
but let's switch the game and talk about a game where sora is ABSOLUTELY GOING THROUGH IT. chain of memories.
sora's resting state is melancholy in com. he only ever cheers up in short bursts, usually when he's joking around with friends. just like roxas.
he's quick to anger, and tends to lash out at the organization members. best example of this is when larxene makes him 'remember' namine, and he swings at her repeatedly, even after she's gone. he only stops when jiminy is able to snap him out of it.
you know what scene that resembles?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
sora, while a bit more on the angry side and less sad, continues to act like this in kh2 when he's in stressful situations. (he also has a tendancy to insult people which, while it's not very related to the point, is very funny and sora saying 'gonna cry?' to xigbar is great.) i cant comment any further than that about kh2 off the top of my head.
so, roxas acts like sora does when he's stressed, right? but why is roxas always acting like that? to which i say, he isnt!
he only ever acts like that when he's also in fucked up and stressful situations, which happens to be a CONSTANT in his life. but when he's hanging out with axel and xion, a decidedly NOT stressful situation, he's a lot more like sora. he's teasing his friends and insulting his coworkers and joking around and acting like a normal kid. not really important, but unless i misremembered some sora lines which is VERY possible, both roxas and sora respond to friendly insults with "oh thanks!" a lot. just a funny little detail that felt relevant.
the biggest differences between roxas and sora boil down to environment and... i dont know how to put it besides volume? roxas is very quiet and tends to keep most of his thoughts to himself, while sora is very loud and expressive in comparison.
there is one other huge difference i noticed, which is less character based and more story. sora wanted to get off destiny islands and explore with his friends, but roxas just wanted routine. sora wants adventure, and roxas wants things to stay the same, for days where he gets off work and eats ice cream with his friends to last forever, to keep having conversations about nothing and watching the sunset. roxas wants normalcy, sora wants excitement. it's just interesting seeing their contrast.
not sure if this is very well said or anything i just wanted to talk about my boys

So distracted today cuz struggling in trying to get the scenes right in pab epilogue so now i decided to just expand a lil more on yorha omori cuz i love the lil crossover android boy.
YoRHa Type O (Omitter) No. 9 or O9 is a prototype of the YoRHa android line, much like A2, data from him and his comrades was used for the superior current lines of 9S and Operators.
Specializing in hacking, analysis, and communication, Omitter types are meant to organize information and filter out all that is unneeded. They are a mixed model as an experimental form of which occupation suits best, Ver. A was stationed at the “Bunker” while Ver. B was stationed outside for scouting.
However, once the Operators and Scanners were created, Omitters were neglected, those stationed at the “Bunker“ was scrapped with their parts reused while those stationed outside was abandoned.
O9 tried his best to survive and keep whatever remaining comrades he had alive, unfortunately he was unsuccessful. He was later found by Pascal who took him in. O9 would travel to certain locations, finding materials and books to learn more from as his connection with the main program was cut.
Though he still retained his skills, it is far lacking than the current lines of YoRHa androids. At some point in his travels, he met up with A2 that taught him more about combat techniques after some time.
<>
EHehehe yeah! I just got to thinking that if A2 was meant as a prototype of 2B then what if Omori ended up being a prototype of 9S? so O9 it is! I’m also thinking that his outfit is torn and tattered but not too terribly ruined cuz he was with Pascal unlike A2 that’s just traveling constantly. And who knows, maybe a machine in the village knows how to sew and fixed up an outfit for O9 to use :o
(dont trust me on that its been years since i last watched any gameplay of nier automata)
Hehehehe also also thinking about a moment after o9 met up with 2b and 9s and he started tagging along and then andthen they found an old broken piano but the brand is still somewhat readable and thats the nickname 9s gave him ykyk omori.

-
Peter knows he’s fucked. Absolutely, terribly, fucked.
And to be honest… Even that’s an understatement.
Peter clutches his coat tighter and fastens his pace. He’s snuck out of the enormous labyrinth that’s Tony’s home, and is now on his way to the bureau’s HQ. It’s still early in the morning, a little over 7 am, and Peter hopes to catch one of his managers before they start their meeting.
Peter made a grave mistake, and all he can do is spill it all out and pray that he can keep his job. He’s had unsafe sex with a customer. If there’s one thing that he should pay close attention to, it’s that. He never made a mistake like this before. However, with Tony, he completely threw his cool and composed sugar baby persona out the door; his mind lost to the wealthy man he only met last night. Tony may claim to be a virgin, which according to his eager yet sloppy techniques isn’t too hard to believe, but still. Peter shouldn’t have risked it.
He eyes the building in front of him and hesitates. He could just get a test done without his bosses knowing; play sick until he gets the results. But if they were to find out… He’d lose his job for sure. And contrary to popular belief, he’s not in the industry just for the money. He likes his career.
In good faith, Peter steps forward and presses the doorbell.
-
Tony wakes up when a golden glow casts over his body. He smiles groggily. In his haze last night, he must’ve forgotten to close the curtains. He sighs and turns around, grabbing the sheets to tug them up a little higher. Slowly, the surroundings are getting to him. The distant sound of traffic rushing through the busy streets of NYC. The buzz of the elevator as it sweeps past his floor...
...and the complete lack of another human’s breath.
Tony swallows and his eyes flutter open. A harsh sting rips through his chest when he sees his bed is indeed empty.  “Peter?” He calls out, half-heartedly expecting an answer but not at all surprised when it stays dead silent.
-
It’s safe to say that the following days, Tony is in such a sour mood that his employees nearly cringe each time he walks across the room. He should’ve never hired an escort to have his first-ever sexual encounter with. The plan was destined to fail from the get-go, and it had.
“Tony?”
Tony turns around to find Pepper standing in the doorway of his private office. Pepper has been his personal assistant for years now, and he is aware that he wouldn’t survive a single day without her skills in his company. She’s seen his worst more often than not - and she doesn’t deserve to be the one to take his anger - but Tony can’t help but glare. “What?” “Jeez, they were right. You’re a fucking asshole today.” Pepper says calmly and raises her eyebrows as she closes the door behind her. Tony can feel some of the tension fade from his posture and he casts his eyes down.
“What happened?” She proceeds to ask. Tony shrugs. How could he tell her? “I did something stupid.” “I figured as much.” The PA places a stack of files onto his desk and sits down in the chair opposite of him. “Personal troubles, or Stark Industries-related?” “Personal.” “Ah, good. That’s one less of a worry.”
Tony glares again, but this time it’s more playful. Pepper smirks. “Gotcha,” she hums, seemingly pleased with herself. “Now, tell me what happened.” “I can’t.” “I’m sure you can, it’s-” “It’s too embarrassing, Pep. Please, I gotta deal with this by myself.” Pepper raises her eyebrow at his words and leans onto the wooden surface.  “Then deal with it before you drag Stark Industries into whatever it is.” She shoves the stack of paper forward and smiles faintly. “After you deal with these, of course.”
“Of course.”
-
It’s late in the evening, and Tony swirls the whiskey around in his glass. He finished the work right before dinnertime and decided to take the rest of the night off.
Deal with it.
Tony snorts. How could he? Peter left. It’s plain and simple that the kid didn’t want to stay. His pretty, sweet words had been nothing but lies and deception, and Tony feels like a goddamn fool for falling for the act. Peter is an escort. Pleasing people, telling them what they want to hear, it’s his job. Tony can’t blame him. He only blames himself.
Yet, it doesn’t keep him from grabbing his phone and navigating towards the escort website. He sniffs once, finding his way to the catalog. It should be easy to find Peter. Right? Tony scrolls down the list and frowns when he hits the bottom of the page. Mmh. He scrolls back up and sits a little more upright when he can’t seem to find Peter’s picture. He taps the search bar and types in his name.
No results found.
In a wave of panic, Tony types out the bureau’s number to contact them and waits anxiously. He has no intention of bothering Peter ever again, but now that it seems he vanished, it makes him feel strangely panicked. As if every link he had to the boy is simply gone. As if nothing ever happened.
Except something did happen.
“Good evening, this is Eva. How may I help you?” “Uhmm- Hi. It’s Mr. Stark. I’m, eh, I’m looking to book Peter again? He was here last night?” “Oh, I’m terribly sorry to inform you, sir, but I’m afraid Peter is temporarily unavailable. I could put you on the waiting list for when he returns?” “Please.”
And like a stupid idiot, he disconnects straight after. He sniffs and lowers his phone. He wonders if he just made another mistake.
-
Peter sucks at his teeth, his foot restlessly tapping onto the floor. He looks at his scheduled bookings and stares at the one empty spot. There’s only one client left to call, but Peter doesn’t know if he should. After a long tirade, and thankfully, a negative STD test, he’s back in the game and good to go. But, if he couldn’t keep himself together last time… He’s not sure if it’d be professional to go back to Tony.
Sweet, innocent, handsome Tony.
“Hey,” Harley pokes his head past Peter’s shoulder and grins. “I see you’re free tonight. My pal Dave is throwing a party at the Frizzles. Wanna come?” Peter rolls his eyes at his coworker and grins. “And get Dave to hopelessly flirt with me again? No, thank you.” “Oh, come on!” Harley throws his hands into the air in desperation. “Dave is your type!” “He’s not,” Peter grumbles, nearly shuddering at the idea. “Good fella, but no, not for me. Y’know I’m into rich old classy dudes. Heck, so are you!” “Hey, no need to attack me.” Harley lowers his bum on the edge of Peter’s desk and cocks his head. “You barely ever have a night off. Don’t you wanna have some fun? I’ll try and keep Dave off your back.” “Well…” Peter sighs and stares back at the empty spot in his schedule.
“I actually have a client.” “What do you mean?” “It’s the last free spot, and I have one more client to secure a booking with me. I just…” Harley frowns, his face displaying a sudden seriousness. “Peter, did this client hurt you?” “What? No!” “Then why are you looking all gloomy at the mere thought of that one client? Is he- Did he force you to not use protection? Peter, we can have him blacklisted, and-” “It’s not at all like that, please Harls, I promise.” “Then tell me why the fuck you’re so strange about it. You’re never strange around clients. Fuck ‘em, get them hooked for more and tadaa, that’s a healthy clientele, it’s how you taught me.”
Peter groans out loud in frustration and shoves his chair back a little, trying to distance himself from the scribbled down phone number at his desk. “I like him!” “What?” “I… I like him. Dammit. He’s really fucking different than the rest of them. I’ve only slept with him once, but he’s got me hooked, not the other way around.” “Then why’d he call us again? Eva told me he sounded pretty nervous.”
Peter’s face loses all color when Harley’s words crash down on him, crumbling the reality he’d build around himself. “No, no Harley, don’t enable me on this one. It’s bad luck. I shouldn’t do it.” Peter scrunches his nose. “Tell Dave I’ll be at the party.”
Harley simply grins, his eyes glimmering mischievously as if there’s something only he knows and Peter doesn’t. “Sure thing.”
-
It’s been two weeks since the damned party. Peter doesn’t feel any better about himself. As expected, Dave had followed him around all evening. Harley, traitor he is, was nowhere to be found. In the end, Peter couldn’t take it anymore, and he straight up told Dave he wasn’t interested. Thank god the lad took it pretty well, but it doesn’t make Peter feel any less shitty about it.
Peter really should just focus on his job and put his mind away from both Dave and Tony. It’s for the best. He sighs and stares at the next appointment on his list. The name is hidden, a feature they have for clients who are high in on their privacy. Peter sighs and grabs his car keys to go to the appointment.
-
Tony’s tapping his foot anxiously while he tries not to stare at the elevator. It’s needless to say he’s not doing a very good job at doing so. Peter’s going to be here again. Oh, God. Tony can’t shake the feeling that maybe he shouldn’t have accepted the booking when Peter’s coworker called him.

(Can't include the gif cause it keeps getting flagged)
You were fine for the next couple hours, having dinner with Tom before separating for the night. You made sure to call the pharmacy to inform them you needed a refill, being told that they'd be ready for you early tomorrow morning. That's perfect. You headed back to your room to get your pajamas on, moving to the bathroom to brush your teeth and such before going to lay down in bed, going on your phone to pass the time. After around 10 you tried going to sleep, but you could already feel the anxiety start to form in your stomach. You were wide awake and a little cold. After 12am though, it got worse. Your body started shivering. You whimpered a little as an overwhelming feeling of anxiety started to rush through your head, making you curl up. You felt nothing but nausea and strangely fearful, like you were in danger.
Quieting your whimpering for a quick second caused you to hear the sound of a door opening from the hallway, some footsteps and then a soft knock at your own closed bedroom door.
"(Y/N)?..." Tom spoke softly from the other side. You really didn't want to bother him with this, but you really didn't want to be alone either.
"C-Come in.." You spoke in a soft tone, hearing the door open. Tom walked in, seeing you all curled up. He was wearing brown pajama bottoms with a white tank top.
"You alright?.." He asked, keeping his voice quiet. You frowned and shook your head, seeing him frown a bit as well. He closed your bedroom door gently. "Move over.." He spoke. You didn't ask any questions, shifting over a bit in bed so he could crawl in beside you.
You blushed a little to yourself as he laid there with you, trying to calm your own shivering. Tom noticed it, his eyes gazing at you with great concern. "How long have you been shaking in here?.." he asked, placing a hand on your arm. "You feel cold.."
"I-I'm sorry.." You whimpered, closing your eyes. You tried curling up to warm yourself more, but the shivering wouldn't stop. Without a second thought, Tom moved closer to you and wrapped both of his arms around you, trying to use his body warmth to warm you up. You blushed, but didn't reject him, moving a little closer to lay in his chest. Your body continued to shiver harshly, though it became easier to ignore in his arms. He was warm, and he smelled nice.
You let out a quiet little sob as a long shiver ran through your body, causing him to hold you closer, one hand moving up to pet your head. "Shhhh.." He whispered, closing his eyes. "I'm here...I'm here with you.." His voice was really soothing and comforting to hear. It was the only thing you could hear in the room, so you decided to focus on it whenever he would say something.
"...I can stay here all night, if you need me to.." He spoke, gently petting your head. You gave a little nod, a shaky breath leaving you when a shiver came back. "Okay..I'll stay the whole night.." He spoke in a gentle hush. "I'm not leaving your side...I promise.."
And he didn't. He didn't leave your side for the whole night, even though you were awake the whole time. Every now and then, he would whisper sweet little things to make sure you knew he was still awake, still there with you. He was so gentle and caring. So comforting. You truly felt safe with this man. As the sun was coming up, your shivers had stopped, though you were still somewhat shaky, mostly in your hands. You and Tom got out of bed just before 8 to go get your pills. You both threw on something simple and got in his car, sitting in the passenger side with your little purse on your lap. You got your pills, he drove you back home, you took your pill and then went back to bed. The whole experience of getting your pills went by in a quiet blurr. You didn't even say much to Tom once you were both out of bed. No thank you or anything. You fell asleep too fast enough to even think about it.
You woke up a couple moments later, your arms a little sore for some reason, probably from laying on them funny. You sat up, seeing the light from outside tinting the edges of the curtains. Was it morning already? You felt oddly groggy as you got out of bed, your mind drawing a blank as you got dressed, brushing your hair, then grabbing your toothbrush and such to bring to the bathroom.
Without really thinking about it, you opened the bathroom door.
"Ah--"
Tom was standing at the sink...with only a towel wrapped around his waist, his body dripping wet due to the early morning shower he had presumably just finished. He was just putting another towel away after drying his hair. You briefly made eye contact before you quickly looked away.
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry--" You spoke, your voice noticeably shaking. "I-I wasn't--uhh--"
Tom just gave a little laugh, setting the towel on a hook. "I nearly thought you were dead. I was about to come wake you up myself." He spoke. How was he not freaking out? You nearly ran into him completely naked. He was, like, 90% naked right now, or at least 10% covered.
"D-Dead? What?" It was hard to pay attention to him without looking at him.
"You've nearly been asleep for two days." Tom replied, stepping more to the bathroom doorframe. Hearing that made you look at him again, giving a confused expression.
"What? We got my pills yesterday--..."
"We got your pills on Tuesday. Its Thursday." Tom clarified, giving an amused smirk.
You hardly believed him, going back to your room to check your phone.
He was right. It was Thursday. Your pills conked you out for 2 whole days?!
Tom followed you to your room, standing at the doorframe again. He was still just in a towel.
"Then did I miss taking my pill yesterday?" You asked, slightly panicked.
"No, I woke you up briefly around 8pm so you could take it." Tom replied "You probably don't remember. Your eyes weren't even open.."
You gave a sigh of relief, smiling at Tom a bit. "Thank you." You spoke, your eyes roaming his physique for a split second before you glanced away again. "A-Are you gonna get out of that towel anytime soon?"
Oh God. Poor choice of words.
"You...want me out of the towel?" He repeated.
POOR CHOICE OF WORDS.
"I-I meant p-put some clothes on!--" You avoided eye contact, hearing him let out that iconic 'eheheh' before moving back to his room. God, he was really messing with you now.
You made yourself a cup of coffee and went back to your room to put some makeup on. You didn't plan to go anywhere special, but sometimes putting makeup on put you in a positive mood. It just made you feel good to look good. You actually spent quite some time perfecting your eyeliner, eyeshadow, eyebrows, etc, using most of the good stuff to really compliment your features, sipping from your coffee every couple minutes until it got cold.
Just after you had finished your makeup, you brought your mug into the kitchen, seeing Tom finish up breakfast for the two of you. You put your mug in the sink, admiring the outfit he decided to wear. He was wearing a white button up and some dark pants. It was a bit formal for a weekday, but he looked nice, especially since he had just gotten out of the shower. He looked at you, slightly taken back from all the makeup you had on.
"Is there a special occasion happening somewhere?" Tom asked with a curious gaze. "You look quite alluring." He's flirting.
"Nah. Just wanted to look pretty.." You gave a little chuckle, sitting down at the table. "You're the one practically wearing a suit. All you're missing is the tie and the jacket."
"I like to dress this way. It makes me stand out.." Tom replied with a little smile. "I like standing out from the crowd sometimes."
"You do a good job with that." You admitted. Ooh, you're flirting again too.
"Thank you." He grinned a little bit, making your plate for you. He set your plate down in front of you, joining you with his own plate at the table.
"Did you dream at all while you slept?" Tom asked curiously. He's very good at making conversation. You tried to think about any dreams you may have had.
"I was practically in a coma. Its hard to remember.." You admitted, earning a little chuckle from him. "I had a dream that I took you to a museum." Tom admitted with a little smile.
"Really? I've never actually been to a museum." You admitted. "I've always been curious about them."
"Perhaps I should take you to one, then." He offered, giving you a happy smile and a warm gaze with his big blue eyes.
"Next, you'll be asking me to dinner.." You gave a little chuckle, seeing him give a playful shrug.
"A walk in the museum followed by a nice candle lit dinner. Doesn't sound too bad of a second date to me." Tom replied, nearly finishing up his breakfast.
Date?--
Second date?
"Second date? Have we had a first date?" You asked, blinking a bit in surprise.
"When I asked you out to lunch when we first met, in Cali." Tom replied. "I thought of it as a date, at least." That was really sweet to hear. You were hesitant to call it a date yourself, until now.
"It was a pretty nice date, then." You smiled at him. "I enjoyed heading back to your hotel. I haven't talked to anyone that much since I met my best friend."
"I believe we clicked rather well.." Tom returned the smile, his more warmer. The way he was looking at you today was different from Tuesday. His eyes were...slightly darker, yet still kind. He really was attractive. Very attractive. It was....almost becoming overwhelming.
"I agree.." You managed to speak in a normal tone, despite your thoughts. You made eye contact again before quietly getting up with your empty plate, taking his plate as well before moving to the sink to wash the dishes. Without you noticing, he checked you out. He's into you, and he knows it. Question is, do you know it?
Suppose he'll find out today.
He got up from the table, returning to his room for now. You returned to your room as well, blushing as his previous form in that towel crossed your mind again. God, he's so attractive. How fucking lucky of you to get to see him in just a towel...
Then again, you got to see his ass in Crimson Peak. The only part you haven't seen is...
Now a bunch of other curiosities were going through your head. Why you were thinking about these things?
After a short while, Tom knocked at your door again, opening it when you allowed him to.
"I thought we could go over the script together.." He spoke, giving you a little smile.
"Oh yeah! That's a good idea.." You nodded, letting him come into the room. "The scripts are in my room. Meet you there!" He chirped, moving back to his room. You got up, checking your reflection before leaving your room to head to his, closing his bedroom door once you were both inside. He sat down at the edge of his bed as you closed the door, sitting down beside him, though at a slight distance. He handed you your copy, opening his own and skimming through the pages somewhat. "I'm not sure how much experience you have with scripts, but they're not as specific as you'd think." Tom spoke. "It gives you a basic concept, but most of what you do could be improvised."
"Like 'Get Help' was improvised?" You asked, getting a soft chuckle from him.
"Yes. The original concept of 'Get Help' was 'dead fish'.." He explained before pointing to a spot in the script. "Here. Page 30." He spoke, scooting closer to show you his script. "In this scene, it just says we fall into bed after a playful exchange, which leads into their potential first kiss, but then there's a knock at the door."
"Okay, so we could improvise the 'playful exchange.." You spoke, getting a little smile from him. "Exactly." He pointed at you in approval. "It could be anything. It could be a tickle fight or I could pick you up. Anything that's, yknow, cute and playful. This is part of what makes me love acting so much." It was cute hearing him talk about things he likes.
"So what would you want to do for that part?" He asked you.
"Uhh...well...what would you want to do?" You asked, blushing some as your eyes met. Neither of you said something for a moment. You weren't sure if he was just thinking, or enjoying your gaze.
"...Are you ticklish?" He asked curiously.
"N-No." You gave a gentle shake of the head, your gaze staying on him.
Tom went quiet again, before a little smile grew on him.
"I've got an idea." He gave a mischievous little smirk before suddenly getting up, picking you up and hoisting you over his shoulder. You gasped at his strength, letting out a soft shriek as he laughed, spinning you around somewhat.
"Put me down!.." You laughed, kicking your legs somewhat.
"You're pretty easy to carry! Maybe this'll work!.." He chuckled a bit.
"Put me doooowwwnn!" You tried not to laugh as he carried you around his room before carefully setting you down on his bed. He laid down beside you and started to laugh, which of course made you start to laugh too, seeing him cover his eyes.
"You almost dropped me!" You chuckled at him, seeing him turn on to his side.
"I wouldn't of dropped you!" He spoke with a big smile. "You're rather cute when you panic, though."
"Stoooppp.." You giggled, getting another little chuckle from him. Your eyes connected once more, his gaze becoming more warm. You sat up a bit, now holding your upper body up by your elbows, moving a little closer to him. The tip of your noses barely touched, your cheeks becoming pink as his gaze became slightly heated, his blue eyes becoming darker. Something about your gaze really got to him. It made him feel wild inside.
His face inched closer to yours, your heartbeat increasing to the point where you could physically feel it, making you start to quietly pant.
"I...Isn't this the part where w-we get interrupted?.." You asked, your face all flushed.
"Y-Yes.." He spoke, giving a seductive smirk. "But I don't hear any knocking...do you?"
He sat up more, his upper body moving more over you, holding himself up by his hands at each sides of you.
"God, I'm just so desperate to feel your lips on mine.." Tom's deep voice spoke, his tone soft to stay quiet. Your bodies were so close to each other. Your noses lightly nuzzled, your lips just barely apart. He was panting. He wanted this. He wanted you.
You stared deeply into his eyes, seeing his gaze move from your eyes, to your lips. You lightly bit the corner of your bottom lip.
He quit hesitating, finally leaning down to break the gap between you two, locking your lips in a long heated kiss. Both of your eyes closed as you kissed with passion, your hand moving up to grip his shirt to make him come closer. He crawled on to you completely, sneaking his tongue into the deep kiss. Your hand stayed on his chest, gripping at his collar anxiously. He pulled back after a moment, locking eyes with you again as if to wait for further invitation. You pulled him back into the kiss, getting a quiet snicker from him.
Oh yeah.
This is happening.

Arch 1 - Arch 2 - Arch 3 (The story so far.)
Ships: Logicality, Pining Prinxiety
Warnings: Cursing, quite a bit of angst (Some fluff though too), death mention, blood (Let us know if there is anything else)
Virgil was sleeping, dead to the world, and vaguely heard Roman shouting somewhere downstairs. He groaned and turned over, shoving a pillow over his head.
“Doesn’t he ever shut up?!” he mumbled, trying to go back to sleep. He was so tired, he didn’t notice the small pool of darkness that inched its way across the floor, seeming to peer this way and that before sliding under his door and slithering away. Patton walked as quietly as he could towards Virgil’s door, but once he got close enough, he thought he saw...something black dart out from under it. He stopped in his tracks and blinked twice but couldn't see the shadow a second time. He shrugged to himself, thinking he was just seeing things and preceded to continue his strides and knock softly on virgil’s door.
”Kiddo? ...you doin’ ok?”
Virgil groaned again. God, WHY couldn’t they leave him alone?! He just wanted to sleep for a thousand years, was that so much to ask? But, it was Dad and he knew that he was only bothering him out of concern, so he forced himself to lift his head, his hair sticking up like a porcupine.
“Yeah, Dad! ‘M fine. You need somethin’?” He called out, knowing it was more than likely Dad would open his door and poke his head in because he’s Dad and that’s what he did. And Patton did open the door and poke his head in, but his face was slightly more concerned than the usual smile he wore.
“Hey...I’m just comin’ in to check on ya. Sorry to bother ya...but when somethin’ like that happens coming from Roman’s world, this pa is just positively perturbed and paranoid. Hehe...” He kept his voice low as to not hurt Virge’s ears. “Are you...doing okay?”
Virgil chuckled. Yup, typical Dad, always worrying about all of them, probably more than he should.
“You should leave the worrying to me, Dad. It’s my job. I’m good, really. Just exhausted. Getting Roman and I back safely took a lot out of me. I’ll be fine after a few hours sleep. Go back to making kissy faces with Logan, or whatever you were doing.” He paused, arching a brow at Patton’s facial expression. “On second thought, maybe I don’t wanna know what you were doing.” He chuckled a little, then snuggled back down.
“G’night, Dad. I’ll find you when I wake up.”
The moral aspect flushed at the mention at he and Logan’s relationship. “Eheheh. Oh alright Virgil. I’ll leave ya alone...right after you tell me how it felt to be the rescuer of the prince of your dreams…” Patton cocked a mischievous eyebrow, almost in the same manner as Logan.
Virgil’s head shot up again, a flush spreading over his face as he stared at Patton. “I...w...what?! I didn’t--he’s not--!” Virgil spluttered, unable to even form a full sentence. His face felt flaming hot and he knew he was blushing furiously, which would be blatantly obvious since he’d washed his makeup off before falling into his bed. Okay, MAYBE he had a teensy tiny little crush on Roman, but he hadn’t thought it was obvious enough for Dad to pick up on it
The flush on Virgil’s face was easily enough to make Patton giggle. “Haha! I knew it! But, It’s okay Virgil. I know he is a little bit like Extra Gum. Easy to chew and hard to swallow, but maybe he does have a soft spot for ya. It’ll happen all in good time, sport. I promise.” Patton was about to close the door and leave him to his own exhaustion, when the thought of the shadow crossed his mind once again. “Hey uhm...Virge?”
Virgil’s face was on fire, oh my god could Dad be anymore embarrassing?! Nope, probably not! He buried his face in his pillows and longed for death, but the hesitant tone of Patton’s voice gave him pause. Even in his exhausted state, he picked up on the nervous undertone.
“Yeah, Dad?”
Patton’s smile slightly faltered, but quickly restored itself into a smile as he threw his question out the window. Assuming Virge would think he was crazy, he decided not to ask about the shadow that snuck from under the door of his room.
“Oh nevermind kiddo.” He shrugged off all worry from his features. “I...answered my own question! Glad your okay! Go ahead and get some good sleep! I’ll chat with you later!” And with that he quickly closed the door and sprinted back down the hallway, knowing full well how bad of a liar he was.
“Patton!!! Plate please!”
Patton chuckled and took the plate off of Roman’s hands. “Hehehehe. Alright Princey don’t get your knickers all twisted.” He strolled back into the kitchen and dumped the plate into the sink, all the while doing his best to hide the nervousness.
Virgil sat there, staring at the door. Dad had just lied. He was a horrible liar, always had been. Well...son of a bitch. Now he was awake, and worrying about what the heck Dad’s question had been. Growling a little under his breath, he tried to force himself back to sleep.
Logan smiled as Patton re-entered the kitchen. “Everything alright? Virgil is fairing well...dearest, what’s wrong?” He knew Patton probably the best out of all the sides, had made a study of his facial expressions. He knew it was minor, but there was distress hidden there.
“Huh? Oh yeah! Everything is just fine and dandy!” Patton smiled probably a little too wide for his own good, but he knew Logan could read him like a book. His smile and obvious distraction gave away the fact that something was definitely wrong with his mood. But, he knew Logan wouldn’t believe him even if he told him the truth...would he?
Patton preceded to take Logan’s empty plate to the sink, then sat down again to finish his own pastry.
Logan frowned at Patton’s response. “Patton, it is illogical to lie, especially to me. Whatever it is, honesty would be preferable. I promise I will listen, and I will not judge. It is my understanding that with the shift in our relationship, I must be more attentive to your emotional state and well-being. You are distressed, and please do not use that false smile to hide it, it is not convincing in the slightest. I love you, dearest. If you cannot confide in me, then who would you choose?”
Patton dropped his fork on his plate. “Oh Logan. I love you so much...and that as morality the last thing I would want to do is lie to you!” His smile faltered slightly more. “But, what I’m worried about is...well it’s just not logical. I shouldn’t be worried about something that's imaginary...right? I probably just need to get my eyesight checked...again...hehe you know what they say about looking through Rose-Colored glasses!” His smile then dropped immediately into a frown expressing his true feelings.
“We cannot know for certain if something you saw was real or imaginary until we establish what it was. I trust your judgement, Patton, and if it troubled you enough to cause you distress, then whether it was real or not is irrelevant. Your emotional response is real, and that is more than enough for me to take it seriously. Please talk to me, love. Tell me what’s bothering you?” Logan reached out a hand, gently cupping his face. “I have come to value things that are not always logical to a high degree, lately.”
Patton’s true smile begins to reform on his face, the warmth of Logan’s hand bringing him back down to reality. “Ok...Logy bear...thank you.” He leaned forward and kissed the logical aspect on the forehead before continuing, his voice turning into a low whisper as to not alert the prince in the next room. “I saw a shadow. A shadow crawl out from underneath Virgil’s door and race by me in the hallway. I blinked to make sure I wasn’t crazy, but I didn’t see it again. I was gonna ask Virgil, but I was pretty sure he wouldn’t believe me if I told him…” Patton drew small circles on Logan’s knuckles as he waited for his judgement.
“Why would you hesitate to tell me this? It is more than possible that what you saw was a reality, especially given what happened in Roman’s realm today. I would never judge you for this. Which way did you see it go when it disappeared? Did you notice a certain direction?” Logan’s mind immediately started devising scenarios, leaping ahead to work on solutions.
Patton mentally sighed in relief as Logan’s facial expressions remained relatively stable throughout his description of the shadow. “It went down the hallway away from Virgil’s room almost as if it was heading towards…” Patton’s eyes widened as he locked gazes with the aspect in front of him.
Logan’s eyes widened, catching the implication immediately. “Thomas!” he breathed, a bolt of real fear jolting through him. “If it was a demonic presence, it could do very real and serious damage to Thomas! We’re going to need Virgil, unfortunately. I know he’s tired, but he’s the best suited and if we didn’t notify him of an imminent threat to Thomas he would never forgive any of us. Do you want to get him, or shall I?” Logan sighed, standing and offering his hand to Patton.
Patton began to shift uncomfortably in his seat. “Uhh! Uhh! oh!! I-I’ll get him! I got him before. It’s no problem Logan.” And with that he took off back down the hallway, knocking his chair over in the process. He sprinted to Virgil’s room door, and knocked a little harder than normal.
“Virgil? Sorry to wake ya again kiddo. But, we have a problem…”
Virgil was still awake, still tossing and turning, when he heard Patton’s voice again. Problem??? Oh no. Well, he called it. He rolled out of bed, still in his pajama pants and a T-shirt, shrugged his hoodie on and opened the door. He knew he looked like a disaster, but whatever. It’s only Dad.
“What’s the problem, Dad?”
Patton jittered nervously at his door. “Uh...its about the question that I wanted to ask you but didn’t? Eheh...yeah you need to come into the kitchen with me and Logan. There's something we need to talk about.” He turned and walked away, unintentionally leaving Virgil behind.
“Up so soon disaster master?” He heard Roman call from the commons.
Virgil shuffled his way behind Patton, giving a jaw cracking yawn as he went. He rolled his eyes at Roman’s quip, giving the royal a narrow look.
“Shut it, Princey. Apparently there’s a problem. You wouldn’t know anything about that, now would you? Since causing problems is a thing you NEVER do.” He rolled his eyes, sarcasm heavy in his voice. Honestly, he was feeling a little self conscious since this was the first time Roman would ever see him without his makeup and normal clothes. He was usually meticulous about ensuring that Roman only saw him at his best but...today was not going well.
Patton practically leaped into the kitchen, almost colliding with the logical aspect. He did manage to hug him on the way by though, before sitting in his normal spot, still as jittery as ever. Roman chuckled and swung his legs off the couch stretching out his back as he walked towards the kitchen.
“The only problem here is that I’m not getting any rrrrr-” He came face to face with Virgil dressed in his pajamas and true complexion. It took him a minute for him to finish his thought, the beauty in front of him catching the prince completely off guard. “-rrrrest for my love-I mean life-I mean rest assured I will get sleep tonight!” He turned away from Virgil, hiding his flushed face away from the darker aspect. But concealing it from him meant it was open for both Logan and Patton to see. Patton smirked towards Logan knowingly, keeping his silent giggles to himself.
Logan caught Patton in a one-armed hug, stopping him from crashing into anything, chuckling a little at his energetic approach. “Easy, Pat. It will be okay, love.” With that, he took his seat next to Patton. Virgil slunk into the room, his shoulders hunched and obviously just woken up from his slumber, judging by his attire and lack of usual makeup. He could see a small dusting of freckles across the darker side’s nose, something that was usually well hidden. It was an indication both of how much Virgil trusted them now and how truly exhausted he was that he would allow them to see him like this.
Virgil couldn’t help the slight blush that rose in his cheeks when Roman walked in, dramatically complaining about something. Their eyes locked and the royal started stammering in a very uncharacteristic way. Roman turned away, and Virgil caught that the tips of his ears were red, but...there was no way it was because of him. Roman didn’t think about him like that, and it was beyond stupid to even consider otherwise.
“What’s this problem that I needed to get dragged out of bed for?” Virgil asked grumpily, spinning one of the chairs around and sitting on it with his chest pressed against the back of it.
Logan’s eye twitched, he hated when Virgil did that, but he refrained from making comment. He caught Patton’s smirk, spotting the blush on Roman’s face and subtly winked at his partner, hiding a smile before answering the question.
“Patton saw something today as he was approaching your room to check on him. He kept it to himself out of fear that he wouldn’t be believed, which was quite silly dearest as we all trust you, but I now have reason to believe that Thomas may be in danger. He saw a shadow moving away from your room, Virgil, and given what transpired earlier in Roman’s realm it is possible that something unpleasant managed to make it’s way here to the mindscape.”
Virgil sat up in alarm, now fully awake. He was weak, weaker than he should be, but he was always ready to perform his primary function and protect Thomas. “When I brought us back...I had to fight hard for it. It’s possible a gap was created that didn’t close fast enough. A big demon couldn’t get through, but a smaller one? It’s possible.”
“The black blob I saw speeding past me was quite small. I’d say it was about the size of two dinner plates!” Patton showed them by his hands how big he thought dinner plates were...it was obvious to Logan he really did need his eyes checked.
Roman scowled. “Another demon? Gadzooks, it could be anywhere. Oh goodness gracious there are too many things here in the mind palace to get messed up by darker powers! It might affect Thomas. I know there are smaller demons...but there are too many too count. Any one of them could cause enough damage here to alter Thomas in someway. Good heavens! What are we doing here sitting around for!? Something bad could be happening as we speak!” Roman paused before realizing how he was speaking. “Oh great I’m acting like dressing dilemma over here.” He motioned to Virgil but in more of a teasing than a menacing way.
“We have no way of knowing what kind of entity this is, and we have only a vague notion of where it’s gone. By all means, Roman, if you have any additional information to provide that would make this easier, I’m certain we would love to hear it! Otherwise, it makes perfect sense for us to divide the mindscape into quadrants and begin searching in a systematic fashion. Virgil, you’re the expert on these things. What should we do in the event we find the creature?” Logan spoke pertly to Roman, irritated that he would want to rush in blindly without thinking. Knowing that Patton would be distressed if he took it too far, he pivoted the conversation to Virgil, hoping to hide some of his irritation.
“Well, without knowing what it is or how it will affect us, it’s hard to say with certainty what the best course of action should be. I’d say keep your distance and summon me so I can deal with it. I’ve expelled a lot of things from the mindscape, and I’m sure I can handle this.” Virgil spoke with more confidence than he actually felt. He was weak, much weaker than he should be to handle this. He knew he could theoretically do this, but in reality? Well...it was more likely he’d be unsuccessful and pass out. But the others didn’t need to know that. Let them think he could do this. He’d just rest when he could and try to recover enough of his strength that he could actually do something when the time came.
Patton felt a wave of relief wash over him as Virgil and Logan’s parts of the conversation relieved him. “Yeah Roman. Let’s not worry too much until the problem actually arises.”
“Ugh...fine. After coughing up mirror shards today you might think I’d be slightly more alert by the word demon than on any average day.” Roman huffed as he was shot down. “But can we at least check on Thomas first? Wouldn’t he be the first clue if something was affecting the mind palace?...or us for that matter.”
“That is a fair point, Roman. We should check on Thomas and warn him so he can be vigilant to any changes. Once we’ve done that, we should begin our search. I would rather find this thing sooner rather than later. The longer we wait, the more damage it could potentially do. I suggest that Virgil search the subconscious, because he’s more familiar with that, Roman take the lower levels where imagination is kept, Patton should handle the main floors and recent memories, and I’ll handle the Long Term Memory Vaults. I’m more familiar with them, so it’s much less dangerous for me. Does that sound like a viable plan of action?” Logan spoke quickly, rather hoping he could gloss over the fact that he had definitely given Patton the safest assignment of the lot. Not that his was entirely without risk, just that Patton would be much less likely to encounter an issue. Being in love was very strange. The thought of Patton coming to harm made Logan feel physically ill, and keeping him as far from danger as possible had just become a higher priority in his life.
Virgil smirked, he hadn’t missed it at all, but it was a sentiment that he fully supported. Of the four of them, Patton was arguably the strongest. Exposing him to a demonic entity would be a terrible idea, for everyone. “It’s a perfect plan, Logan. Hang on…” Virgil clicked his fingers, and he was instantly more comfortable in his usual attire with his makeup in place. “Much better. Let’s go.”
Roman winced. ‘Perfect plan?’ Those words stung more than they would have normally had they come out of the darker aspect’s lips and it felt for a second like a needle had pierced his heart. Didn’t Virgil think he was perfect? Of course they had a slip up today and the fanciful aspect almost died, but did that deter Virgil from liking him even as a friend? Roman’s shoulders noticeably drooped as Virgil’s ador-he meant messy attire was changed into his usual get up. He had to get the darker aspect’s attention back on him. And he would get it, no matter the cost.
Roman himself was not complaining about Logan’s plan though. It was a brilliant plan on his part  and he did have to agree, and it put his fanciful self almost directly next to Virgil when it came to the placement of searching areas. Other than that he had nothing more to complain about. “Yes Logan...it is a pretty good plan.”
Patton giggled. “Oh! It’s like a game of ‘I spy’! Oh that’ll be fun! Eheheh! I’m an expert at those. Alright everyone. Weeeeee’re off to see the Thomas!!! The wonderful Thomas of odd!” Patton continued his singing even as he sank down, closely followed by Roman who gave a tiny huff dissatisfaction as he left the mindscape.
Logan rolled his eyes but smiled fondly, shaking his head as he sank down after his ridiculous boyfriend. Virgil grinned at Roman’s little huff, but he did his usual pop out of existence and back in. Sinking down and up was for suckers.
“AAAAH, WHAT THE HECK?!” Thomas jumped when they all appeared, clutching his chest. “A little warning, next time, guys???”
“Apologies, Thomas, but this is a matter of some urgency. We are sorry for interrupting your Steven Universe marathon.” Logan adjusted his tie, glancing at the other aspects. How on Earth was he going to explain this in a way that Thomas would find rational and believable?!
“Oh, it’s fine, Logan. What’s up?” Thomas paused the episode, giving them his full attention. Logan hesitated, and Virgil couldn’t stand it.
“Oh, move over, Specs. Look, when Roman and I were in his realm, there was a demonic entity that attacked us. We made it safely back to the mindscape, but in doing so we may have inadvertently allowed something dark to follow us. Which means you could be in danger. We, or more accurately, *I* am going to handle it, but we need you to be aware of what’s happening. If you feel anything out of place, or notice any strange behaviors, let us know right away. It’s important, Thomas.” Virgil explained quickly, refusing to acknowledge that he’d basically done it to help his struggling nerd of a friend. Logan would always have trouble articulating things that didn’t necessarily make sense. Thank god he was with Patton now, maybe that would improve in the future.
Thomas stared at all of them in silence for a moment. “A...demonic entity?! WHY would something like that be in your realm, Roman?!?” He stared at his fanciful side in shock.
Roman scoffed looking offended. “Ah! Don’t look at me. It’s not one of my creations. They just show up on random and I have to take care of them. Most of the time they stay hidden and don’t come out into the open. There have only been two times when they have approached me directly. One of those happened to be the unfortunate event of when Virgil was with me today. But...I’m actually glad he did come with me. I might not be standing here if he didn’t...but that’s besides the point. These darker powers are strong, even the smaller ones Patton had said were the size of a dinner plate can put up a fight. If one’s escaped, we couldn’t bare to let it hurt you...or...one of our own.” He glanced around at the other sides, setting his sights on Virgil most of the time. A feeling of longing growing steadily inside of him as seconds ticked on.
“What he means Thomas, is that demonic powers aren’t meant to be toyed with. We are trying to take this as serious as possible.” Patton took out a large magnifying glass. “And we can start by looking for clues!” He began to zoom in and out on Logan’s necktie making funny sound effects, then preceded to look at other random objects. Roman stifled a snort.
Logan chuckled as Patton zoomed in and out on his person, remembering the time they’d dressed up as Sherlock and Watson. “Looking to be my Watson again, dearest?”
Virgil’s eyes widened in horror and he immediately shot a look at Roman. No. Oh god, no. Not again, NEVER AGAIN.
“Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES are you allowed to pull that Sherlock crap again! Do you have any idea how insane you two were? For actual days?! I’m not putting up with that again. Roman, back me up on this, please!” For the love of all that is good and pure in this world, back me up Princey.
Thomas stifled a laugh as he watched his sides interact. “Awww, Virgil, it couldn’t have been THAT bad, could it?”
The look Virgil gave him assured him that oh yes, it absolutely WAS that bad.
Patton chuckled and lowered his magnifying glass. “Oh Logan. I never stopped being your Watson. I was always the clue to your case. Eheheh” He drew out the ‘oo’ sound in clue and winked at him.
Roman’s head was fogging up, but luckily Virgil’s voice brought him back down to earth. For whatever reason he couldn’t think straight (probably because he wasn’t). His thoughts were jumbled, but the one thing that seemed to stand out to him was Virgil’s voice. It’s what kept him grounded, what he enjoyed hearing, what he enjoyed seeing.
“Yeah…” Roman sided with Virgil half heartedly. Completely forgetting the importance of the situation. “Yeah no more sherlock crap…” Roman rubbed his eyes trying to gain some focus back, but to no avail his thoughts would jumble back up until they took the shape of the one he deeply wanted most. But...after today...no...after everything the prince had said to him. There was absolutely no way Virgil could like him the same way back. If he couldn’t have him, then he would protect him from anything that wanted him. Friend or not.
Logan practically melted on the spot, and Virgil suppressed a gag at how disgustingly sappy his normally stoic friend was when it came to his new boyfriend. Ugh, who knew Logan was such a soft pile of mush under that cold exterior? Logan smiled, taking Patton’s hand and murmuring something softly that made Patton’s face flush beet red, and Virgil just DIDN’T. WANT. TO. KNOW.
Hearing Roman’s less than enthusiastic response, he whirled and grabbed Princey’s shoulders, his eyes desperately boring into the other’s. “Roman, do you want us to die?! They’re going to play Sherlock and Watson again, and look at them!!! They’re all sappy and gross!!! This is going to be SO MUCH WORSE!!! Come on, I saved you, now it’s your turn, Princey. BACK. ME. UP.”
Logan had one arm around Patton’s shoulders, and Virgil was desperate to get OUT of this situation as quickly as humanly possible. He was practically hiding behind Roman at this point. “Come on, Princey, make the mushy duo stop and let’s get this done, please!” Oh god, he was going to see his best friend kiss his Dad, wasn’t he, gross, gross, GROSS!!!! Nope, he needed out of here, nuh-uh, not happening.
As Virgil looked into Roman’s eyes they kept dilating, like something kept repeatedly removing his consciousness and then stuffing it back in. Roman shook his head to get a hold of himself, so he could clearly see what was causing the one he loved distress. His vision instantly cleared, a new purpose boring into his mind.
“HEY!” His voice boomed across the apartment, not unlike Virgil’s when he was loud. The darker undertone, faint but present in his inflections. “Not now you two! You can kiss later when we’ve found the demon. Don’t forget what we came here to do Logan. I would have thought you weren’t so easily whisked away in fantasies of love. And Patton! Know your place. Do not distract Thomas’s mind from doing his work. You both can smooch each other later. Behind closed doors.” A flash of red crossed his eyes for a split second, before they settled back down into his original chestnut brown.
Patton jumped back, surprised at the sudden outburst of the prince, but knew it was true. He preceded to lower his head as an apology left his voice and died off.
Virgil stared at Roman, shocked. That….had not been what he was expecting. He expected Roman to roll his eyes and offer a louder agreement, then they’d get back on track.
Logan’s spine straightened, and he shot a glare at the royal, now protectively sheltering his boyfriend rather than gently holding him. “Roman, that was uncalled for! I agree that we need to find the demon, but there was no need to berate Patton like that. He is the embodiment of emotions, he is naturally affectionate, and he should never be shamed for that anymore than you should be shamed for your frequent flights of fancy and romantic delusions. That was cruel, Roman and you are rarely that.” His gaze sharpened, now giving Roman a more thorough inspection. “Thomas, how are you feeling right now? Is anything off, or different?”
“I don’t know...I feel...weird. Muddled. I don’t know how to describe it, Logan, I’m sorry.” The logical aspect nodded, thinking.
“It would appear it is affecting Roman and therefore you. We must move quickly.” He turned to Patton, who still looked downcast, and gently tilted his head up with a finger under his chin. “I love you, Patton. You are never a distraction, and if you ever are, it is a welcome one. Be safe.” He pressed a gentle kiss to Patton’s lips, offering him a smile before sinking down to begin his search.
Virgil’s anxiety was increasing with every passing moment. This was bad. It was already messing with Roman, and now Thomas was feeling off?! Not good.
“We’ll get this figured out, Thomas, I promise. Come on, Roman. We’ve got to get going.” He offered his usual two finger salute and sank down, intent on getting to the Subconscious. He figured Roman would follow close behind.
Roman scoffed. “Cruel. Bah humbug. That was hardly cruel. I was only stating what Logan would have said in response be it some seven days ago. Goodbye now Thomas.” He sank down following Virgil.
The kiss greatly improved Patton’s mood although he was still wary of the salty Prince’s uneven temperament. He gave a quiet smile and tiny wave to Thomas as he too decided to sink down with his fellow aspects.
Meanwhile, A tiny black blob shift shapes as it runs through the mind palace. It has already taken on the form of many household objects, but now it takes on the shape of a tiny blue creature, everyone knows Thomas loves: Stitch. As the sides  reappear there, it hides, blinking and smiling in secret.
Logan appeared in the Long Term Memory Vault, which frankly was dangerous for anyone who didn’t know how it worked. There were stacks of knowledge here, vital memories that were critical to Thomas as a person. The stacks shifted, moving as information was reclassified as more or less important. If one wasn’t careful, it was very easy to be crushed or become lost here. He slowly moved from row to row, looking for anything out of place. He doubted he’d find anything here, as a demonic presence here would cause critical failure to Thomas, and he had been functioning adequately when they’d left. He sincerely hoped the others would have better luck, and if a small part of his mind was devoted to the niggling fear that something would happen to Patton, well….no one needed to know.
Virgil sunk down into the mindscape, moving to the Subconscious. This was a wild, dark space. A lot of things were here, and Virgil used the term “things” loosely. Half-formed thoughts, vague notions, fears that Thomas hadn’t even acknowledged. It was all here, creeping in the darkness. He took a few deep breaths and started searching, moving in a grid pattern so he wouldn’t miss anything. It would be insanely easy for the entity to hide here, and he was hoping against hope that it hadn’t found this place yet. He was on his second row when he became aware of a shuffling sound behind him. He whirled and nearly had a heart attack when he saw the familiar red sash inches from his face.
“Jesus Christ, Roman! You trying to kill me?! What are you even doing here, you’re supposed to be searching the Imagination!” Virgil huffed, glaring a little at the royal. Roman had agreed to the original plan, why the hell was he here?!
Roman’s breath hitched as he tried to come up with a valid excuse. “My apologies fairest. I’ve already scoured the imagination and I could sense nothing of that foul beast there. So, I came to join you on your quest. Should anything happen to you, I will be here to protect you. Plus, I do owe you a save...physically.” He thought back to his so called harsh words to the Sherlock and Watson duo.
Patton wandered the mind scape, not quite sure what he was looking for, but he had a feeling he would know it when he saw it. He quietly hummed to himself, unaware of the small blue creature lurking behind him. It followed him curiously, not sensing any real danger, but was definitely attracted by the level of infatuation that he carried with him. This aspect had a boyfriend. The demon could practically smell it from a mile away. It took it a minute before it formulated an evil plan in its head. He would need that cardigan draped around the moral aspect’s neck.
But the demon could tell that he would not obtain the item that easily...or was it more simple than it looked? Patton displayed such a strong attachment to his catigan that he almost never took off...almost like a certain...possessiveness towards it. The demon grinned devilishly, stalking up behind the jolly aspect. It jumped and grabbed a hold of his hood, pulling the catigan off of his neck and down to the ground. Patton cried out in surprise, but before he could turn, the demon had duplicated it and dragged the original off behind the couch, hiding in wait.
Patton frantically looked from side to side, now paranoid that something might be in the same area as him. “W-who's there?” He cried out, grasping the closest thing that looked like a weapon...of course it had to be an egg beater. After not receiving an answer, he yelled again. “Y-you better come out...or I’ll b-beat you!” Five minutes of silence. Patton reluctantly put down the egg-beater down and sat at the table. His heart pounding even faster than normal. Oh where was Logan when he needed him the most? Very soon, he found himself crying. Scared of being alone and scared of finding something...what if the demon looked like a spider? Now that in itself, freaked him out to no end.
The demon cackled quietly, listening to the pathetic aspect’s worries and pleas. It shook his head in bewilderment and set off with the catigan in his claw to the next area of interest: the Long-Term Memory Vaults. Once it arrived, it quietly began to shred the catigan into long strips of cloth. It now looked like a large demon had run through it with massive claws. The demon smiled knowing that it’s dirty work was done...well almost. It picked up the strips and casted its own illusion spell on it, so that anyone who was blinded by possessiveness will see blood covering in all the exact spots where major arteries would have been located. Now, the demon had the perfect plan.
It ran through the Long-Term Memory Storage, carefully looking for his target, until he found him checking notes, with his back turned to the creature of darkness. It was then he laid out the catigan in all of it’s glory, tattered and bloody. It then raced quietly leaving tiny but seemingly large claw marks on things as it left Logan’s vicinity. Once it was out of sight, it began to feed on the possessiveness of the one whom he had infected before and flickered the lighting in the area. Quickly it opened its mouth, and screamed as hellishly and humanly as possible.
Logan’s head shot up as the lights flickered, and his blood ran cold when the scream reached his ears. His heart dropped out of his chest. Patton! Oh god, not Patton! He whirled, immediately following the sound. There were claw marks, massive ones, seemingly random ones. His pace quickened, and soon he was running, frantically searching.
“Patton? Patton?! WHERE ARE YOU?!” Logan’s voice echoed, and he heard nothing. He whipped around a corner and froze. That...that couldn’t be. He reached out, his hand trembling. It wasn’t real, it wasn’t real, it couldn’t be real. When his hands actually touched shredded fabric, he felt his heart shatter.
Patton’s catigan, the gift he’d given to the moral side, was in tatters. Even in his distress, his mind didn’t stop. He could see the blood, the tears...his mind was analyzing. Major arteries. Fatal damage. The chance of survival was less than 0.2%, even with immediate medical attention. They weren’t immortal, and they could be killed. His face was wet, why was it wet? He looked around, it wasn’t raining, he was indoors! How...oh...tears. He was crying. Tears were streaming down his face, unchecked.
He clutched the strips, and a sound wrenched from his chest, something he’d never heard himself make before. It was raw, visceral. He had never experienced pain on this level, couldn’t function, couldn’t THINK. Is this was heartbreak was?! Is THIS the kind of pain that Patton had routinely endured all of Thomas’s life? How had he ever belittled this? How had he ever thought Patton weak?
“Patton…” It was whispered, softly, sorrowfully. He’d finally admitted his feelings today, they had finally become a couple TODAY. What kind of cruel reality did he live in that he would lose the moral side he’d loved for years in the same day? Logan sobbed, feeling his world fall apart.
Virgil felt something, a weird tremor. Something was wrong, fundamentally wrong. He could feel distress, extreme distress, coming from multiple points. Normally he’d be on his way already, but Princey was standing in front of him and he was 99% sure the royal had just lied through his teeth.
“Princey...there is no way you searched the entire Imagination that fast. It’s literally impossible. You’ve always been a crap liar. I know you’re not yourself, and maybe you can’t be by yourself, which is fine, but don’t freaking lie to me again. Come on, we’ve got to hurry up. Something is really wrong.” Virgil was torn between staying and finishing his task and going to help the others. If Princey were in his right mind, maybe he’d ask the other for help.
“Ugh...you’re right I didn’t search the entire imagination, but I did search a good portion of it. But I would know if something was there and I didn’t feel its presence at all. Plus, Thomas cannot survive without you, remember? Strength in numbers?” Roman could barely get his eyes off of the angry emo before him. He couldn’t tell if his heart or brain was melting, most likely his brain because he couldn’t think well at all. “But, let’s go find the source of this problem. You’d think Mr. Fix-it felix could deal with it himself since he’s the problem solver.” Both he and Virgil escaped the subconscious, landing directly into the mind palace.
It just so happened that the demon had returned from the Long-Term Memory storage and was on its way back to Roman’s room, when of course it ran into the two aspects. It squeaked in surprise, not suspecting them to be back so soon. But it had a plan. As soon as Roman laid eyes on the demon, the hazelnut became blood red once again. Roman swiveled towards Virgil and grabbed him in an exasperating hug, restraining him from doing anything to the demon. “MINE!” He shouted like a child earning a toy that he had always wanted. It was a demand, from the demon, but somewhere deep down Roman was trying to fight it.
Virgil’s brown eyes went a deep, terrifying black. His eyes locked on the demon, registering the threat to himself, his fellow sides, and most importantly his host. In a move that would have stunned Roman, had he been in his right mind, he easily flipped the Prince over his shoulder, slamming him to the ground with a vicious strength he would likely regret later. “Sorry, Princey. I don’t have time for this.” His voice had a demonic dissonance, and echoed in the mindscape.
The demon’s eyes widened in fear, and Virgil strode towards it, growing with each step. By the time he had reached the creature, he was towering, having to hunch down in order to keep from bashing his head on the ceiling. One huge hand reached out, snatching the demon easily and pulling the squirming thing up until it was eye level.
“Get. Out. Now.” Each word was snarled through perfectly clenched teeth, and the entity realized if it didn’t immediately comply, this creature was going to destroy it, erase it from reality. Virgil turned towards Roman’s room, casually stepping over a still winded Roman, and shoved his way inside, opening the portal to Roman’s realm.
“If you ever threaten me or mine again, I’ll hunt you down and rip you to pieces.” That horrifying voice growled once more, and the entity was unceremoniously thrown into the portal. Virgil breathed deeply, concentrating. With the last ounce of his strength, he forced the portal to connect to that same clearing, willed it to deposit the creature exactly where he wanted it, then slammed the door.
He swayed in place, feeling everything drain out of him. Too much, he’d pushed too hard, oh no! Blackness crawled at the edges of his vision, and he slowly shrank down to his normal height before collapsing on the floor in a heap.
Elsewhere in the mindscape, Logan stared, utterly baffled. What...what had happened? He was still holding shreds of Patton’s catigan but...it was clean? There wasn’t a drop of blood, and the claw marks on the stacks and walls had disappeared. He was shaking, still emotionally unstable and unable to function, but now he could add confused to the mix.
Roman felt his eyes and head clear. He could vaguely remember everything that happened during his possession, his back still hurting from Virgil’s fancy maneuver. Virgil. His eyes widened as he stumbled over to where the darker aspect now lay on the ground unconscious. Room. He needed to get Virgil to his room. With as much strength as he could muster, he lifted his body up and carried him over his shoulder. Trudging towards his current objective, a faint running sound came up quickly behind, startling the prince a couple inches into the air. Roman screamed in alarm, causing Patton to scream in alarm. Then they both screamed in alarm.
“AAAHH!! Roman! Are you okay?! Is Virgil okay?! Oh my god what happened?”
“Patton! By Dr. Seuss DO NOT Sneak up on me like that!!! Not after I just had a heart attack!” Roman rubbed his face in disbelief. “Please calm yourself so I can calm myself thank you very much!! I’m taking Virgil to his room. He needs to rest and so do I. God can this day get any crazier!? I’ve got pinocchio over here, why don’t you go check on Logan?” He turned his face away from Patton.
“Oh...okay.” Patton quickly unmanifested out of mind palace and went to go check on the logical aspect up in Long Term Memory Storage.
Logan was on the floor, still kneeling in the tattered remains of Patton’s catigan. He was vaguely aware that time was passing, that his tears had stopped and now his eyes were burning and silent sobs were wracking his body. He tried to imagine what his existence would be now. Thomas could not function without a Morality, and the mindscape would not allow a vacuum. A new Morality would be created. A new aspect with a different face. A Morality that was not Patton. He would have to interact with that aspect, work with it, but it would never be Patton. The realization that he would never see Patton’s smile, hear his ridiculous puns, or feel the warmth of his hugs ever again leveled him.
He released a long, shuddering breath, his shoulders drooping. He had to continue. His existence would go on, as Thomas needed him and he would not abandon him or the others, but he was quite certain that his life (such as it was) could be considered over. His life could now be divided into two parts: Patton and Post-Patton, and he wasn’t looking forward to the stark coldness of the upcoming years. For the first time since he had been created, he felt no sense of hope for a future at all.
He heard footsteps approaching, but he couldn’t bring himself to move. It didn’t matter. It wasn’t the one person he wanted to see most.
“Logan. Logan!!” Patton began calling out as he ran past the different file stacks. He hoped Logan was alright, but he knew how strong the logical aspect actually was so he wasn’t worried. When he rounded the corner however, the expectation was shattered. Logan sat there cradling what looked like to be his Catigan but in shreds. What had the demon done to him!?
Patton approached cautiously recognizing the signs of sheer grief coming from the logical aspect. He took one more step forward and carefully called his name.
“Logan…”
Logan dully raised his head, red, grief-stricken eyes meeting Patton’s. Except it couldn’t be Patton. He was dead. Logan had calculated it, seen the evidence. Here sat contradictory evidence, but the logical side couldn’t bring himself to hope again, to feel again. He’d reached a state of comfortable numbness and he didn’t want to feel that horrible yawning emptiness and pain again.
“....You aren’t real.” Logan practically whispered it, not daring to raise his voice. “Patton died. He’s gone. Ergo, you cannot be real.”
Patton’s heart ripped itself apart for the logical aspect. He remembered having to deal with this amount of grief once before. He took a step forward and then another and then another. Until he was standing in front of the logical aspect himself. He smiled that smile that Logan had fallen in love with in the first place. He took his cardigan off and threw it in the air, the copy disappearing without a trace.
“Logan if I was dead, my catigan would go with me.” He gently touched the strips of the catigan and suddenly the demons work became undone. Time unwove itself and the spell had been lifted. He took the old catigan and wrapped it around his shoulders and sat in front of Logan a small smile on his face. “Whatever you saw was cursed. It's not real. What’s real is our love and I would never leave you without fighting like the papa bear I am. You should know that with all your heart Logan.” he smiled again gently reaching out towards him.
Logan drew in a shaky breath, feeling Patton’s hand trace his face. Real. This was real. Patton was alive, in front of him, touching him. He stared, silently, memorizing every single inch of that dear face. He knew Patton was concerned, could read it easily, but he couldn’t help the single tear that fell, tracing down his cheek.
“I love you, Patton, have done for many years now. I cannot conceive of a life without you….or, more accurately, I can but the thought of it is a cold, harsh thing that I do not ever wish to live through.” He reached out, tentatively, and when his fingers brushed the fabric of Patton’s blue polo, his arms wrapped around the moral aspect and yanked him into a fierce embrace.
“I….I can’t….” Logan couldn’t articulate his thoughts, too overwhelmed, so he settle for burying his face in Patton’s neck and wrapping himself in the warmth and comfort that was Patton. His Patton.
Patton felt tears form in his eyes. He could only imagine the amount of emotional pain, this traumatic experience that the demon had put Logan through. He knew the pain. He had felt the pain before. The hug he gladly accepted, sharing Logan’s emotional pain, hoping to lessen the burden of it on his boyfriend.
Patton cried silently, rubbing the logical aspect’s back. He didn’t care how long he had to stay there. For Logan anything was worth it. He pressed a couple tender loving kisses to his head trying to bring him back to reality.
“I’m here logan. I’ll always be here. And I love you...so much.”
Logan held him tightly, absorbing the easy affection and reassurance that Patton offered, trying to release the pain, the horror he’d felt. They were emotional responses, of the most negative sort. Patton was not dead, he was alive. It was illogical to continue to feel that aching pain...but he couldn’t seem to stop. And beyond that, fueling it perhaps, was a newfound fear. A fear that the horrible things he had seen and experienced today might one day become a reality.
Logan pulled back and kissed Patton, reassuring himself once again that yes, this was real and not an illusion. Patton was here, with him. When they parted, he leaned his forehead against the other aspects, his arms still around him.
“You can’t promise me that, you cannot possibly promise that with any degree of certainty, Patton. Just as I cannot promise that to you. We can hope to be here with one another, but we are not immortal. We can be injured and we can die. It is possible for one to leave the other. But I love you, with all that I am. I can only promise that I will do what I can to stay with you. If you can promise the same, that would be enough.” Logan’s words were calm and even, but his eyes were fierce, blazing.
The kiss left Patton dazed in his wake but gladly returned the intimate gesture. “I know Logan and I promise to do the same thing. I love you so much and you are my world.” He gently took a look around at the miles and miles of memory storage. “The memory storage is massive Logan...I haven't been here since Thomas was a teenager...are you doing okay? They say one can lose their mind going through all this information. I haven't lost you have I?” He chuckled trying to lighten up the mood.
Logan chuckled a little, and although it was weak and watery, it was the best he could manage. He pulled back, twining his fingers together with Patton’s, refusing to let him go. “I doubt you could ever lose me, Patton. Come on, we should get out of here. The stacks are going to move soon, and I don’t want you to get hurt.” He stood, pulling Patton up with him. As he spoke, there was a large rumbling, and some of the stacks far in the distance began shifting. Logan pulled his boyfriend into another hug and sank them back to the commons.
Patton held onto Logan for dear life as they sank back down into the commons. He then kissed Logan’s cheek. “My hero.” He smiled into his eyes then scanned the couch to find Roman fast asleep upon it.
Logan flushed a little at Patton’s words, a gentle smile gracing his face. He felt fragile yet, and incredibly tired, but there was nothing he could think of, short of Patton himself demanding it, that would make him leave the moral side at the moment. He glanced at the sleeping royal and frowned. Now that his emotional haze had cleared, his logical processes were coming back.
“What happened? Where is Virgil? Was he successful in expelling the entity from the mindscape?”
Patton looked towards Virgil's room. “He’s regaining his energy. Roman knows more than I do. But judging by the fact that Roman is back to normal and my catigan is back to its old self, I would say he did it.” Patton smiled and walked over to the royal and gently pulled the blanket over him before walking back to Logan, melting into his embrace.
“Should we check on Virgil, sweetheart?”
Logan’s heart felt a little steadier, feeling Patton in his arms and his endearments. He chuckled a little, giving Patton a gentle squeeze.
“Yes, dearest. I want to make sure he’s alright.” He reluctantly released Patton, but held onto his hand as he turned, leading them towards Virgil’s room. When they got to the door, Logan knocked quietly. Hearing no response, he shared a look with Patton before quietly opening the door and peering in.
Virgil was sprawled across his bed, snoring lightly. He was obviously dead to the world, and Logan doubted anything short of a bomb blast would have roused him.
“It would appear he may have over-extended himself. It may be some time before he regains consciousness.”
Patton smiled sadly at his dark strange son. “He did a good job.” He turned to Logan and gently stroked Logan’s back, side, and stomach, once again grounding him in the knowledge that he was real.
“Once Roman wakes up we can hear the whole story, but for right now...I’m thinking about ordering pizza. I don’t feel like cooking.” he giggled sadly leaning next to his boyfriend.
Logan tried to hide the shiver that went through him at Patton’s comforting touch, although he wasn’t entirely sure he was successful. He smiled, carding his fingers through Patton’s hair and pulling him closer, encouraging him to lean against him.
“That sounds perfect, dearest. We’ve all had a trying day, the last thing you should have to worry about is cooking for all of us. Would….would you like to watch a movie? Perhaps in my room, or yours? I find that I do not want to part company with you.” He didn’t say it, couldn’t say it, but he didn’t think he could bear to be away from Patton at the moment. He needed to be close to him, just to have him near. His curiosity was eating him alive, but he knew there was nothing he could do until Roman woke up.

2-12 One Winged Wielders: A Stage Without “Me”
Sorry for the spam.
If you want to blacklist these, you can use either the tag #one winged wielders for just this event, or #xdu event scripts for all these posts in general.
Reminder that these are copied straight from XD Unlimited itself, so any grammatical weirdness, mistranslations, and/or mischaracterizations are not my doing.
Tumblr media
Maria: "They got the best of us."
Hibiki Tachibana: "I'm sorry."
Kanade Amo: "No, it isn't your fault."
Maria: "The karmified Noise this time around was a flying type. Its mobility is going to make it quite a pain to deal with."
Hibiki Tachibana: "It'd be nice if could just do it like Chris-chan would, firing from long range all like "ba-ba-ba-baaaam!"" [1]
Maria: "No, her ballistic power would drop with range, making it ineffective. We're going to need more firepower."
Maria: "Do you have any ideas?"
Elfnein: "There might be some hints in the data I received earlier. Could you give me a little time to investigate?"
Maria: "Go ahead."
Elfnein: "Okay, I'll do my best!"
Kanade Amo: "While the brains go brainstorm, how about the rest of us go and train?"
Hibiki Tachibana: "Yeah, that's a great idea! Brainstorming should be left to the "brains", after all."
Maria: "Yeesh, you sure are something... But yeah, I'll go with you."
Kanade Amo: "Huh? Aren't you one of the brains, though?"
Maria: "Anything Elfnein thinks up will be better than what I could. Come on, let's head to the simulator."
Tumblr media
Maria: "It's like I thought. The simulator won't suffice."
Hibiki Tachibana: "The typical flying Noise are easy to counter because they fly right towards us."
Maria: "The Karma Noise, however, is distinct from these in that it tries to keep its distance. That's a problem."
Kanade Amo: "Our attacks could technically hit it, but that still leaves the issues of firepower and S2CA."
Maria: "Right. And this girl's the only one who can bring our powers together and unleash them."
Hibiki Tachibana: "Umm, well, for now we could just try one more ti-yaiiiiim?!"
Kanade Amo: "Hey, what's with the gibberish?"
Miku Kohinata: "Grrrrr!"
Hibiki Tachibana: "Mi-Miku, you, ah... H-Hi... I'm... back?"
Miku Kohinata: "Sheesh! If you were back, why didn't you come home right away?! I've been worried sick about you!"
Hibiki Tachibana: "S-Sorry! There's just been all this terrible stuff and--"
Miku Kohinata: "All the more reason to let me know! I heard Tsubasa-san was seriously injured, and so I wondered... Honestly, Hibiki!"
Hibiki Tachibana: "I know. Thanks, Miku. And I am sorry."
Miku Kohinata: "I'm just glad you're all right."
Hibiki Tachibana: "Eheheh. Miku, you're embarrassing meee. And in front of Kanade-san, too..."
Miku Kohinata: "Kanade-san? Wait... What? How?!"
Miku Kohinata: "That Kanade Amo from Zwei Wing came back to life... Whaaaat?!"
Tumblr media
Miku Kohinata: "Wow, I didn't see this coming."
Hibiki Tachibana: "Right? I was shocked when I first met her on the other side, too."
Kanade Amo: "Sorry, I guess? For surprising you."
Miku Kohinata: "Oh, no! It's not your fault, Kanade-san."
Maria: "So then, what are we doing here?"
Hibiki Tachibana: "Ah, that! So, to make things up to Miku, I'm treating her to Flower's legendary okonomiyaki!"
Maria: "Right, you said that. But why are me and Kanade here?"
Kanade Amo: "What's it matter? Can't fight if you're hungry, right?"
Maria: "Well, I suppose that's true."
Miku Kohinata: "Hey, Hibiki. Want some pork and egg okonomiyaki? Give me your plate."
Hibiki Tachibana: "Thanks, Miku."
Miku Kohinata: "No problem. Eat up, yeah?"
Hibiki Tachibana: "Oh wow... Man, these okonomiyaki really are the best!"
Miku Kohinata: "Oh, Hibiki, you've got sauce on your face... There, all gone."
Kanade Amo: "......"
Maria: "What's the matter?"
Kanade Amo:  "Oh, I was just thinking back on old times, is all."
Kanade Amo: (Back then... Tsubasa and I used to eat together like this.)
Hibiki Tachibana: "Oh! Let me have some of the seafood okonomiyaki next!"
Miku Kohinata: "You're such a glutton. Okay, open wide."
Hibiki Tachibana: "Ahhhh... Mmm! That's delicious!"
Maria: "You guys are really good friends, aren't you? It's like I'm watching Shirabe and Kirika."
Kanade Amo: "......"
Maria: "What's wrong?"
Kanade Amo: "Here, open up. Ahhh" [2]
Maria: "Phbbtt!"
Kanade Amo: "Ugh, that's gross! What are you doing?!"
Maria: "I could ask you the same thing! You made me spit tea everywhere!"
Kanade Amo: "Sorry, I was just trying to follow the crowd and all."
Maria: "You don't have to do that. Just be quiet and eat!"
Kanade Amo: "Yikes, someone's a sourpuss..."
Maria: "Ugh. You're not as--"
Kanade Amo: "Hm? Not as what?"
Maria: "No, it's nothing! I was just thinking about how hard things must have been for Tsubasa back then!"
Tumblr media
Hibiki Tachibana: "Whew! I'm stuffed!"
Miku Kohinata: "Yeah, I ate way more than usual. You didn't over do it, did you?"
Hibiki Tachibana: "I'll be okay. I was training up until right before this. But I do kinda feel like lying down."
Miku Kohinata: "Hey, you shouldn't sleep right after eating, you know."
Kanade Amo: "That sound--it's an alert, huh?"
Maria: "Yes. Seems the Noise have turned up."
Hibiki Tachibana: "Miku, I have to go but I'll be back!"
Miku Kohinata: "Okay, I'll be waiting. Good luck, Hibiki!"
Tumblr media
Hibiki Tachibana: "Hey, just got back!"
Genjuro Kazanari: "Yeah. Good work, girls."
Elfnein: "We're in your debt. I know this is sudden, but do you have some time?"
Maria: "I don't suppose you've found a way to deal with that flying Karma Noise?"
Elfnein: "We have. Would you like to hear it?"
Maria: "Of course."
Elfnein: "One of the characteristics of Karma Noise is that they're drawn in by phonic gain."
Elfnein: "Therefore, we should use the largest enclosed space possible to lure it in, and then launch our attack."
Kanade Amo: "Sounds good to me. I approve."
Elfnein: "Thank you. Now, does anyone know of any enclosed spaces suitable for this operation?"
Elfnein: "If possible, it should be a place where the surroundings aren't as liable to take damage, but..."
Hibiki Tachibana: "Hmmm. Where would work for that?"
Maria: "We'd want it to be someplace open enough that it doesn't hinder our ability to fight."
Hibiki Tachibana: "Ah, good point. If it's too cramped, we wouldn't be able to maneuver ourselves."
Genjuro Kazanari: "I've got an idea. But..."
Kanade Amo: "Don't hold us in suspense, here. Where are you thinking?"
Genjuro Kazanari: "A concert hall."
Kanade Amo: "A... concert hall...?"
Genjuro Kazanari: "I'm sorry. I heard a bit of what happened. The same place where you lost Tsubasa... If it's too hard..."
Kanade Amo: (Tsubasa...)
Kanade Amo: "No, I'll be okay. If that's our only real option, then beggars can't be choosers."
Elfnein: "Okay, then let's go with that. I would like to have Tsubasa-san come help with the operation, but--"
Kanade Amo: "Hold on! Why bring Tsubasa to a place like that?!"
Elfnein: "Ah! I... I'm sorry..."
Maria: "Calm down. You're scaring Elfnein."
Kanade Amo: "My bad..."
Elfnein: "I-I want Tsubasa there to sing with Maria-san, since that is the most effective way to increase phonic gain."
Kanade Amo: "Tsubasa's going to sing... there?"
Kanade Amo: (No... I can't let that happen.)
Kanade Amo: "If you're going to have Tsubasa sing there, then how about I--"
Kanade Amo: (Then I'll want? Sing? Like this? I still haven't gotten my song back.)
Hibiki Tachibana: "Kanade-san?"
Kanade Amo: "......"
Kanade Amo: (I can't possibly sing. I can't possibly take Tsubasa's place.)
Maria: "All right. Then let's go get Tsubasa."
Kanade Amo: "You--!"
Maria: "I said calm down. I'm sure it won't be a problem for Tsubasa. She's gotten over everything... unlike you."
Kanade Amo: "......"
Tumblr media
Tsubasa Kazanari: "What the hell were you thinking? Proposing a concert right after we've come back."
Maria: "I know it's a bit of a shock, but there wasn't time for any other options."
Tsubasa Kazanari: "You said the other side has a means of dealing with the Noise?"
Maria: "Yes, Shirabe was over there. We sent Chris and Kirika over there to back her up, as well."
Tsubasa Kazanari: "And I told Kanade I'd keep things safe, too..."
Maria: "Wait, is that what this is all about? Did you want to show off your good side that badly?"
Tsubasa Kazanari: "No, no, it's not like that! I just... well... I just figured if I did well, Kanade might praise me a little."
Maria: "Wow, for a sword, you're pretty blunt, but adorable, too."
Tsubasa Kazanari: "Hm? Did you say something?"
Maria: "No, it's nothing. I'm looking forward to singing with you, even if the circumstances are what they are."
Tsubasa Kazanari: "Yes, me too. Shall we get started?"
Tumblr media
Maria: "Ah, whew... Next song is yours, Tsubasa."
Tsubasa Kazanari: "Sure, just let me rest a bit... Kanade! Are...you not going to sing with me?"
Kanade Amo: "Tsubasa, you really want me to...?"
Tsubasa Kazanari: "Yeah. I know it's a weird place to do so, but I'd like to sing with you, Kanade. Is that not all right?"
Kanade Amo: (A chance to sing with Tsubasa again... Nothing would make me happier, but...)
Kanade Amo: (I just... I can't.)
Tsubasa Kazanari: "Kanade?"
Kanade Amo: "I can't do it. I'm not the person I used to be anymore. I don't have songs for anything except for battle!"
Tsubasa Kazanari: "I'm sorry, Kanade."
Kanade Amo: "Don't apologize. Please, don't."
Maria: "Fine, then you can just sit and watch from the sidelines! Come on, Tsubasa! Let's go!"
Tsubasa Kazanari: "Er, right..."
Kanade Amo: "......"
Kanade Amo: (Why aren't I out there with Tsubasa? Why isn't it ME on stage?)
Kanade Amo: (No one loves Tsubasa more than I do. No one should want to sing with her more than me, so why?!)
Elfnein: "Girls, I'm picking up a signal! Noise are starting to appear! And I bet we'll have that Karma Noise, too!"
Hibiki Tachibana: "Kanade-san! It's time to fight!"
Kanade Amo: "Okay, I'm ready!"
Maria: "Tsubasa, you take care of things from here once we're done, okay?"
Tsubasa Kazanari: "Maria? I was going to head out together with--"
Maria: "You're still recovering from earlier. Leave this to us."
Hibiki Tachibana: "The Noise's numbers have been thinned out. Let's go! SC2A Tri Burst!"
Hibiki Tachibana: Yaaaaaaaaaahhh!"
Maria: "Rgh! That Noise is still too quick!"
Hibiki Tachibana: "It managed to dodge us again. What should we do? --Wha?!"
Hibiki Tachibana: "Kanade-san? Why are you grabbing my hand?"
Kanade Amo: "Send the power we've gathered through me! Do that, and we can take this thing down!"
Maria: "Have you got an idea?"
Kanade Amo: "Yep."
Maria: "All right."
Maria: "I'll use Airget-lamh to reposition our power. Here we go!"
Kanade Amo: "Ngh... Grrrraaaaahhhhhh!"
Kanade Amo: (Here, with Tsubasa, and the Karma Noise...)
Kanade Amo: (I want to sing with Tsubasa. Which means now is the time to start over--)
Kanade Amo: "Give me your power!"
Hibiki Tachibana: "D-Did it work?"
Maria: "Looks like it."
Kanade Amo: "Thank you. I won't let this power go to waste!"
Maria: "It's reforming!"
Kanade Amo: "Oh no you don't! Taaake thiiiiiiis!"
Hibiki Tachibana: "Hooray! You did it, Kanade-san!"
Kanade Amo: "Somehow or another, yeah. Thanks."
Tsubasa Kazanari: "Kanade!"
Kanade Amo: "Tsubasa..."
Tsubasa Kazanari: "That was incredibly reckless of you, Kanade... But also amazing!"
Kanade Amo: "Sorry, but I'm kinda tired. I'm going to head back."
Tsubasa Kazanari: "Huh? Kanade?"
Kanade Amo: "......"
Tsubasa Kazanari: "Kanade..."
Notes:
[1] "It'd be nice if I could just do it like Chris-chan would, (...)" They left out who would be doing the firing, but checking the Japanese script, she goes with singular "I"

Eddsworld: UTFTF Chapter 4
When Worlds Collide - (Chapter 4)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As nighttime fell on the town of Spitbucket, the citizens all came together for the town’s annual anniversary celebration. This year the celebration was different since there was the regrand opening for the town’s clock tower. Afterwards, a party was held inside the saloon where the bartender was serving up free drinks while the same band that was seen earlier were performing. Meanwhile outside, Baron was seen handing over his dagger to the mayor just so he and his goons can enter. “Is that all you got Baron?” asked the mayor. “Yes it is. You have my dagger, now leave me alone” said Baron.
“Hey! Watch it with the attitude boy or else I’ll be putting you down” said the mayor. “Fine…” said Baron. After exchanging a couple of things, Baron and his goons walked by while Future Edd watches. “Hey Edd, we just wanted to say thank you helping out today” said Sheriff Thompson. “Yeah if you haven’t stopped those bandits, Matthew and I would’ve been dead” said Edward. “You don’t have to thank me. I had to do something” said Future Edd.
“Yes you had to. Speaking of which, I was thinking of bringing over both Edward and Thompson with me to England for dinner with the royal family. Would you like to join?” asked Prince Matthew. “I would love to, but I have to say no. It’s because I can’t stay here” said Future Edd. “Why not? It’s great to see a relative that bears the Gold name. We have a lot of catching up to do” said Edward. “About that, we are related, but we’re from different time periods” said Future Edd. “Different time periods?” asked Edward. “Oh, how do I put this in a way to make you understand this clearly?” asked Future Edd.
“You don’t need to, we’ll understand” said Sheriff Thompson. Future Edd takes a moment of pause before telling them everything. There was a couple of surprised looks especially from Edward. “So….you’re my descendant?” asked Edward. “And my descendant doesn’t have any eyes? I thought that having Baron taking out my eye in an epic gun fight wouldn’t transfer through DNA” said Sheriff Thompson. “My descendant considers himself beautiful? Well wait….I already do that, but not in that level” said Prince Matthew.
“What you just heard is all true. That bottle that you have right there will become a can and will be outlawed throughout an entire nation” said Future Edd. “Well that sucks!” said Edward. “Anyway, I need to head back in time” said Future Edd. “Where to? The future?” asked Sheriff Thompson. “No, just don’t worry about it” said Future Edd. “Oh….can we come with you?” asked Prince Matthew.
“I’m sorry, but if I were to do that it may cause some time paradox thing were the flow of time itself will be destroyed. It’s confusing and it’s a lot to take in I know” said Future Edd. “Oh, so I guess this is goodbye” said Edward. “Yes, but I’ll probably come back one day. In the meantime, I got better things to do” said Future Edd. Sheriff Thompson, Edward, and Prince Matthew watched as Future Edd walked away from them as he pressed a button on his wristwatch before seeing him vanish.
[In The Actual Right Destination]
A bright flash could been seen in the corner of an alleyway as Future Edd stood up. “I knew it! I did set the watch back way too far. Now let’s have a look at the surrounding area” said Future Edd. Future Edd takes the moment to check his surroundings and came to realize that he was in the right timeline. “Aha! I’m in the right timeline after all. Now to carry on with my mission” said Future Edd. “Yeah about that mission, what is the place that we’re currently standing in? This isn’t the saloon” said Edward. Future Edd recognizes the voice and sees that Edward, Sheriff Thompson, and Prince Matthew were standing near a dumpster.
“H-How…..where did you guys come from?” asked Future Edd. “Oh that? We followed in after you, plus we got followed from those three bandits from earlier” said Sheriff Thompson. Future Edd sees the bandits sitting on the ground. “Oh my god……” said Future Edd. “Hey depresso, why are in a digusting place like this and why are so many bright lights here?” asked Saloonatics Eduardo. “This place that we’re in is called an alleyway and these lights are just there for some random creeps just like him” said Future Edd.
The Saloonatics turned their attention onto a sinister looking guy digging through a trashcan till he noticed them. “Hi there” said the Sinister Guy. “Hola” said Marco. “Anyway, I can’t leave you six here all by yourselves especially in a strange place like this so I guess you’re coming with me” said Future Edd. “Yay, traveling” said Juan. Future Edd mumbles something under his breath as he lead the Saloonatics out of the alleyway and onto the streets.
However, instead of keeping quiet, they were looking at almost everything. “Wow, look at of these colorful lights” said Sheriff Thompson. “Hey, this store has some pretty fancy stuff. Why haven’t I gotten these?” asked Prince Matthew. “Matthew, get over here now” said Future Edd. Prince Matthew quickly comes back as continued walking down the street. “My, I never seen so many buildings in my life” said Edward.
“Welcome to the 21st century version of England” said Future Edd. “Wait…we’re in England? Cool!” said Edward. “I feel so calm and peaceful” said Saloonatics Eduardo. “Yeah I know. I feel so calm that I can speak in English without the need of being judged. I like this a lot” said Marco. “Me too!” said Juan. “That reminds me, I have to show you” said Future Edd.
“What is it?” asked Sheriff Thompson. “Follow me” said Future Edd. Future Edd takes the Saloonatics with to a pier where they were given a nice view of the city of London with all of its buildings lighting up the night sky. “Wow…….this is beautiful” said Juan. “I know. This is my most favorite spot” said Future Edd. “Oooo, what is that thing over there?” asked Edward.
“Oh that? That’s the London Eye, it’s a ferris wheel” said Future Edd. “Amazing. I can sit here and stare at this all night long” said Prince Matthew. Future Edd couldn’t help but smile to see the Saloonatics happy, but this all ended when Future Tom and Matt found them as they pointed their guns at him. “Freeze Edd” said Future Matt. “Crap!” said Future Edd. “Who are those guys? They look mean” said Juan.
“Don’t be afraid of them, I’ll take of this. Matt, Tom, what are you doing here? The better question would be, how did you know that I was here?” asked Future Edd. “Oh don’t play stupid with us, Edd. We know that you had Zhong Wei get out of your cell and helped you get ahold of your stuff since we’ve asked him” said Future Tom. “What!? Why that- grr…..look, can we not do this today?” asked Future Edd. “And let you kill past Tord? No thank you” said Future Matt. “Exactly. I hate to say this, but you’re under arrest again. Now put down that laser pistol” said Future Tom. “Never! I let you stop me the first time, but this time I’m going down without a fight” said Future Edd.
“You’re going to fight us by using……hang on, is that my ancestor?” asked Future Tom. Sheriff Thompson waves at Future Tom as he lowered his gun. Future Edd sees this as an advantage and goes over to Prince Matthew. “Why yes it is Tom. Oh and Matt, this person right here is your ancestor” said Future Edd. “You better stay away from him Edd” said Future Matt. “Relax, I’m not going to hurt him” said Future Edd.
“Oh thank goodness. For a second there, I thought you were going to scar up his face in order to make sure I look ugly” said Future Matt. Before Future Edd could say anything to counter on what Future Matt just said, a light shone over them as a helicopter came to the pier. “What the?” asked Future Matt. Soon many soldiers came and surrounded them in a circle formation as a submarine comes up from the sea. A latch opens up revealing a female soldier along with three other soldiers wearing a colored scarf. “Blueberry, Raspberry, and Banana….hmm….they seem like nice people” said Juan as he read off of their name tags.
“I don’t care what their names are, I only care about the woman. Why is she wearing pants?” asked Saloonatics Eduardo. “Commander Yamiyo, it looks we have company here on this pier” said Raspberry. “I see that. Oh, they’ve picked the wrong day to be here” said Yamiyo. “Wrong day? What do you mean? This is supposed to be a free pier for everyone” said Future Edd. “Not this pier though. This pier is used for shipping and getting supplies” said Yamiyo. “You got to be kidding me right? I literally came to this pier when I’m having a bad day and now you’re telling me that I can’t be here? Nobody takes away my happiness and I mean nobody” said Future Edd.
“Oh really? That’s a dying shame. It’s not your world you know” said Yamiyo. What happened next resulted in Future Edd taking charge at Yamiyo in a whirlwind of rage and fury, but his attempts were stopped as Banana stabbed him in the back with a dagger. Banana quickly takes the now blood covered dagger out of Future Edd as he heard him give off a scream of pain. “Ehehehe……looks like I made a perfectly good line down your back” said Banana. Future Edd growls angrily as he pointed his laser pistol at a laughing Banana. “YOU’RE GOING TO PAY FOR THAT!!!!” yelled Future Edd.
Before Future Edd could pull the trigger, he suddenly gets tased by Yamiyo before eventually collapsing to the ground. “Well that was….eventful” said Yamiyo. “Why would you do that for?” asked Future Tom. “It should be clearly obvious that he seemed like a threat and by following the official code of the Black Army, it’s best to get rid of the problem” said Yamiyo. “Black Army?” asked Future Matt. “Oh dear, it looks like we got a group of people that will spill out our secrets. What should we do with them?” asked Banana.
“Like we always do, knock them out and take them in as our prisoners” said Blueberry. “Nice try, but we’re going to be ones that will give you the knock out treatment” said Future Tom. “Figured that you would say that. Now!” said Blueberry. Future Tom’s eyes widen as he prepared himself, but he was swiftly taken down by Raspberry who managed to hack into his visor causing it to shutdown completely. “Oh you shouldn’t have let your guard down when I can hack through almost everything” said Raspberry. Future Matt who was watching all of this could only do one thing and that one thing was get down to the ground and play dead.
“Awww….looks like someone gave up” said Blueberry. “Forget about him, there’s still more. It looks like we’ve got rodeo clowns” said Yamiyo. “Clowns!? How dare you insult me like that. I’m Sheriff Thompson and you’re going to face the wrath of my gun” said Sheriff Thompson. “Yeah like he said” said Edward. Both Edward and Sheriff Thompson took out their guns and pointed them at Yamiyo. Eventually they were joined by the three bandits while Prince Matthew hide behind them.
“Wow, you guys have the coolest cosplay outfits ever” said Banana. As Prince Matthew lowered himself to the ground, he was suddenly grabbed by Raspberry. “Help! I’m being grabbed! Please, get him off!” cried Prince Matthew. “Matthew!” said Edward. “Hey you freak! Get your hands off him” said Sheriff Thompson. “Hmm…..British Royal Family…? Is this even- oh! It is real. Good news guys, I think we’re being presented by a member of the royal family” said Raspberry.
“Ah excellent. So we have an actual prince here. I love it” said Yamiyo. “He’s not going anywhere with you without a fight” said Sheriff Thompson. Yamiyo responds to this by motioning for the soldiers to point highly advanced rifles at the Saloonatics which made them surrender. “Oh I love it when people give up. It brings me so much joy. Now, let’s give these lovely intruders our hostility” said Yamiyo. Yamiyo then lets out an evil laugh as Blueberry, Raspberry, and Banana joined in.
