TERRARIA (XBOX ONE) REVIEW
Tumblr media
Since I've been playing Terraria for about 9 months solid and I've finally beaten the final boss, I guess it's about time I wrote a review!
Tumblr media
Terraria is a sandbox action/building/survival game that was released back in 2011. It came out a few years after Minecraft premiered, and there's a decent chance Minecraft was part of the inspiration, as it does share the general premise of surviving in a sandbox world where you can freely explore, dig, gather resources, fight monsters and build stuff. However, one big difference in the feel of Terraria (besides it being 2D rather than 3D) is that it is a very combat focused game.
Tumblr media
Whereas Minecraft only has a couple of bosses and a handful of weapons, Terraria is bursting with bosses, enemies, weapons and gear. A big part of the fun I've had with the game has simply been going around collecting a huge arsenal of weapons, accessories and armor sets. There's a satisfying sense of progression to the game where you must continuously hone your skills and beef up your equipment to take on each boss in the game's main story-line. When you get far enough, the world changes into "hard mode", spawning a new biome along with *even more*new enemies and bosses to duke it out with!  Occasionally invasions will occur in your world where a mob of baddies will descend upon you as well, and you are also able to summon many invasions and bosses yourself for optional challenges. If you play the game in Expert or Master Mode, the baddies all get a heck of a lot tougher, but they also drop special items, so the game gives a really nice incentive for practicing and getting skilled enough to try out the harder difficulty world modes. I suppose if I have one criticism of the games combat, it is that I do wish you could progress without having to hurt any friendlies (I'll be vague so as to not spoil but you'll eventually have the game itself tell you you're a terrible person if you want to play all the way to the final boss. ouch!)
Tumblr media
In addition to the challenging but fun combat, you can also do lots of other things like building, well, pretty much whatever you want (I've been making My Little Pony themed buildings myself). You can go fishing, farm plants,  and when you complete certain tasks NPCs can also show up in your world. The NPCs are a lot of fun, I enjoy talking with them all (even jerk ones like the angler because he's still an amusing little shit). There's even one modeled after Pinkie Pie! There’s also an adorable fox-monster lady, the Zoologist. and also....well, there’s many I like, so I’ll go onto how they affect game-play.  Many of the characters have unique game-play functions attached to them beyond just selling stuff. The angler can give you fishing quests to complete, the goblin tinkerer can reforge your items to change their stat bonuses, the sassy nurse can heal you while reminding you of the importance of social distancing (good!), and the big burly Tavernkeep  even lets you set up a whole little tower-defense mini-game with its own currency and loot rewards! Another feature this game has that you don't really get in Minecraft - you get to play dress-up! The game features tons of cosmetic items that you can wear over your armor, ranging form silly to cute to spooky and more!
Tumblr media
The game is wonderful audio-wise, largely in part due to its delightfully charming soundtrack. When I first heard the music, it reminded me of the feel of Adventure Time with it’s often playful feel.
Tumblr media
Now, onto my criticisms - which are few, as there's a good reason I've been playing this game for almost a year now, but I always wanna try to give constructive feedback, especially in a game that it still being updated such as this one. Watching my wife play this before it's current "Journeys End" update, it used to be possible to have the game world pause when looking at the map, but this was taken away with the newest update and that was disappointing to her and I felt it unfair as well. Another issue is that NPCS have an AI issue where they will just walk into a pool of water and casually drown themself. A third issue is that sometimes if you have the game paused or the inventory open, and the controller disconnects, the game will unpause, putting you in danger of dying. Similarly, if the controller dies while you're actively playing, it won't pause the game, also potentially screwing the player over. I hope in the new "labor of love" update, these things will be fixed.
Tumblr media
Lastly, I do have a criticism about how updates are handled in modern day games like this - When 1.4 was released, it caused corruption in my wife's previously made worlds, and she ended up having to make new ones. This is why I feel that if a developer is going to keep changing a game after its initial release, the older versions of it should be available to the player as well. Minecraft Java Edition has shown a very good example of this where you can create player profiles and tell the launcher which version of Minecraft you want to play on. Some players may have preferred the way Terraria was more in its early days, and these forced updates erasing older versions of the game could potentially ruin  a customers favorite game and replace it with something they don't enjoy much anymore. I also miss the days when games were not released until they were finished, and they were released on an un-changable physical format.
Tumblr media
All that said, I do greatly recommend the game if you enjoy Minecraft or love the idea of a big, colorful open world where you can spend months on end collecting cool items, building cute houses, and battling big tough monsters. I know of a couple decent options for getting a copy of the game: I went with playing on the Xbox One because my family already owns the game and had it installed. I know it is also available for PC DRM-free on good old games, (I don't really like buying from them but sadly they seemed to be the only source of a DRM-free PC copy currently). I also own an older physical copy of the game for Xbox 360, and if you're a big enough Terraria fan I may recommend picking that one up as well because it might be the only to get to experience an older version of the game if you didn't snag one of the DRM-free copies early enough.

Everything You Need To Know About Fortnite Chapter 4: Season OG
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/everything-you-need-to-know-about-fortnite-chapter-4-season-og/
Everything You Need To Know About Fortnite Chapter 4: Season OG
Tumblr media
Fortnite Chapter 4: Season OG goes live in a few hours once its downtime is complete, and it brings players back to 2018’s Chapter 1 map, with throwback weapons, loot, vehicles, and more, too. While it’s technically Season 5 of Fortnite Chapter 4, which follows the previous Last Resort season, developer Epic Games is calling it Season OG, and it makes sense considering how much of Fortnite 2018 is making an appearance.
The throwback nostalgia continues throughout the season because each new update brings with it a different phase of Fortnite Chapter 1’s past, starting with Season 5. That means weapons like the Assault Rifle and Pump Shotgun, and vehicles like Shopping Carts, will be featured in both Zero Build and regular Battle Royale Fortnite.
Here’s Everything You Need To Know About Fortnite Chapter 4: Season OG
Tumblr media
While each update listed below brings new weapons and more to Season OG, all based on previous Chapter 1 seasons, Epic says some of the unvaulted gear will remain throughout the updates while others will stay for just that update. Below is part of what’s being unvaulted:
Season 5: The Return of Tilted, Greasy, and Risky
Tumblr media
First released during Chapter 1: Season 2, Tilted Towers is a point of interest on the island that will remain until the Season 9 update of Season OG. Alongside Tilted Towers, Epic has added back All Terrain Karts, other vehicles, and some traps from the original Season 5 of Chapter 1. This includes the Assault Rifle, Pump Shotgun, and Hunting Rifles. The Damage Trap, Grappler, and Boogie Bomb are unvaulted now, too, as are the aforementioned ATKs and Shopping Carts.
Season 6: Darkness Rises in Loot Lake
Tumblr media
After the v27.00 update goes live on November 9, players will find that darkness has risen in Loot Lake, bringing with it weapons from Fortnite Chapter 1: Season 6 like the Double Barrel Shotgun, Clinger, and Six Shooter. Plus, the Quadcrasher, Mounted Turret, and more return alongside the Chiller Trap and Port-a-Fortress (note: the Chiller Trap and Port-a-Fortress will not be in Zero Build modes). And finally, the Driftboard makes its way onto this island with this update as well.
Seasons 7 and 8: Of Chill and Treasure
Tumblr media
Update v27.10 will feature both Chapter 1: Season 7 and Season 8 starting November 16 after it goes live. It brings with it a snow biome, Frosty Flgiths, pirate camps, swashbuckling gear, and more. Weapons include the Flint-Knock Pistol, Minigun, and Quad Launcher. Other items include the Poison Dart Trap, Itemized Glider Redeploy, and Buried Treasure (the Poison Dart Trap will not be in Zero Build, though). On the vehicle front, players can use the X-4 Storming, and if you’re struggling to take it down, try the Pirate Cannon that lets you launch teammates into the air.
Season 9 and X: Blast Off!
Tumblr media
On November 23, update v27.11 will go live, and it celebrates Fornite Chapter 1: Season 9 and Season X. As such, weapons like the Heavy Sniper Rifle hit the island alongside other loot like the Proximity Grenade Launcher, Air Strike, and Junk Rift. Plus, this update adds the Storm Flip and Jetpack to the mix as well as The Baller.
Fortnite Chapter 4: Season OG Battle Pass and Item Shop
“A time-traveling, turbo-speed OG season means the all-new OG Pass,” Epic writes in a press release. “Packed with over 50 new in-game items, you can unlock all the cosmetic rewards in the OG Pass in just four weeks. The OG Pass is purchasable for 950 V-Bucks, but you can earn up to 1000 V-Bucks by progressing in the OG Pass. Fortnite Crew Subscriber? The OG Pass is included as part of the Fortnite Crew Subscription.”
Tumblr media
In the OG Item Shop, Epic says to expect curated selections of classic, mashup, and new items. The OG Item Shop outfits and accessories will only be available for a limited time, and, per usual, new items will appear daily at 7 p.m. ET.
Here’s a look at one of the OG Item Shop outfits:
Tumblr media
Fortnite Chapter 4: Season OG Ranked
As usual with a new season, your rank has been reset in Chapter 4: Season OG. You only need to play one ranked match to have your rank revealed; your performance in your first match does not determine your initial rank placement, but it does reveal your rank and then updates your progress bar based on your performance in that specific match. Epic warns that matchmaking in higher ranks will likely take some time, especially if you were previously in a lower rank.
“With Fortnite OG being a short season, rank progression will be faster at the higher and middle ranks to accommodate,” Epic writes in a press release. “Players will be penalized less for being eliminated early in a match and will have slightly faster increases to their rank progression bar. Additionally, we’ve made progression faster for players in the Bronze ranks, so friends queueing up together across ranks will see more constant progression.”
When you jump off the Battle Bus in a ranked match, you’ll be given a Ranked Urgent Quest. By completing certain amounts of Ranked Urgent Quests, you’ll unlock special in-game rewards. Complete just one Ranked Urgent Quest during Fortnite Chapter 4: Season OG to unlock the Chapter 1-inspired Ranker’s Tags Back Bling pictured below. It will display the color of the highest rank you’ve reached this season.
Tumblr media
And that’s everything you need to know about Fortnite Chapter 4: Season OG. For more details, including information about ranked cups and a new Metro Boomin lobby track, be sure to check out Epic’s full blog post.
For more, watch this nostalgic Tilted Towers throwback Fortnite trailer and then read about how Epic’s chief creative officer and Fortnite head Donald Mustard has left the company.

CRSED: F.O.A.D. latest update adds more to the brutal online shooter
Tumblr media
CRSED: F.O.A.D. gets "I’mMortal" update for the game on Linux, Steam Deck, and Windows PC. Big shoutout to Darkflow Software for their continuous hard work. Along with the new expansion available on Steam. As you know, the base game is Free to Play. Attention to all online shooter fans: CRSED: F.O.A.D., known for its intense combat scenarios and diverse tactics, has just launched its latest content update titled "I’mMortal." This comes as exciting news for those who enjoy dynamic and interactive battle settings on Linux and Steam Deck. First and foremost, meet Nikolay Orlov, the newest addition to the roster of Champions. He's no ordinary combatant. Orlov is a prominent arms merchant and the leader of a mercenary group. His influence isn't limited to just the digital battlefield. He's also been a key player in real-world conflicts spanning Africa to Latin America. What's really unique is that, while most Champions need a special invite to join the battle, Orlov's immense wealth and powerful connections mean he can simply buy his way in. Since that’s the kind of influence he brings to the table.
New Season “I'mMortal” / CRSED: F.O.A.D.
youtube
Now, let's delve into what Orlov offers in terms of strategy and CRSED: F.O.A.D. playstyle. If you're someone who likes using the latest tech to get an edge over your opponents, Orlov is it. His standout ability allows him to call in a strike drone armed with missiles. So if you're in a tight spot, surrounded by enemies, and suddenly you have an airborne ally raining down chaos from the sky. That's the kind of game changing moment Orlov can deliver. But, keep in mind, this power doesn’t come without a cost in CRSED: F.O.A.D.. Every time you deploy this drone, it'll cost you in-game currency. But don't fret too much about the cost. As an added bonus, when you summon the drone, you also get an armored vest and additional firearms. This not only boosts your defense but also equips you with more firepower. But wait, there's more for CRSED: F.O.A.D.! Beyond Orlov's introduction, "I’mMortal" also brings a mystical ritual called "Fog" and a variety of new cosmetic upgrades. These additions promise to enrich the overall experience, giving you fresh ways to engage in combat and personalize your avatar. If you're keen on learning the details of every CRSED: F.O.A.D. Champion and master different playstyles. Going from stealthy approaches to outright aggressive gunfights, or even soaring through the skies with a jetpack. CRSED: F.O.A.D. certainly offers a rich and layered combat landscape that is both challenging and rewarding. For a detailed breakdown of Orlov and other features of the update, I’d recommend checking out the official website. Plus its all playable on Linux, Steam Deck, and Windows PC. The new The Bear of Wall Street Pack is available on Steam. Priced at $19.99 USD / £17.99 / 19,99€.

Warhammer 40k Darktide gets “most significant” content drop ever
Tumblr media
The "most significant" feature update for Warhammer 40k Darktide has just been released by Fatshark. Rejects Unite adds new missions, a new opponent, and a reorganised cosmetics market to the co-op Warhammer 40k game. Players from Steam and the Microsoft Store will soon be able to team up to retake Tertium thanks to crossplay, which is also on the way. According to information presented at the most recent Warhammer Skulls, Rejects Unite will debut alongside Warhammer 40k Darktide patch 10. Two new missions will arrive in Rejects Unite: Archivum Sycrox – Throneside and Ascension Riser 31 – Transit. Archivum Sycrox – Thorneside will have players dive deep into the Administratum offices in an attempt to wipe out data from the Deep Archives. Ascension Riser 21 – Transit is Warhammer 40k Darktide’s first community event, where players will be tasked with completing three challenges. Each challenge will unlock specific rewards, the last being Ascension Riser 31. To the delight of surely every Darktide fan, Fatshark is adding a new enemy, the Chaos Spawn. Similar in stature to the Mutant Charger or Crusher, but with all the body horror of its tabletop counterpart, we can expect to get wrecked by the Chaos Spawn in dozens of devilish ways. https://youtu.be/r5ZHHbrUFCo Darktide is also getting a new cosmetic inventory view that will allow players to track both locked and unlocked cosmetics, making it easier for us to catalog what we have, and pick out what we still need to unlock. In addition to the revamped inventory, fresh enabled cosmetics will be available, alongside a new earnable cosmetic shop. Previously removed to help improve the Darktide experience, the premium shop is also reopening with a new range of cosmetic item sets. “We know we missed that mark at launch”, Warhammer 40k Darktide executive producer Juan Martinez says. “We acknowledged it, went through community feedback, and changed our approach to servicing the game”. It seems the team at Fatshark is committed to improving Darktide and shows no signs of stopping. “There’s more to come soon,” Martinez adds. It’s fantastic to see. For players both new and old, Warhammer 40k Darktide seems to be going from strength to strength, as Fatshark continues to closely listen and respond to player feedback. We’ve got high hopes for Rejects Unite. While you have Warhammer 40k on your mind, why not check out some of the other best Warhammer games? If you would like to know more about Darktide and improve your gameplay, you can also brush up on the Darktide Grimoire locations and their uses. Read the full article

Best Gsmes Top 10 List
Summoners War
One of the first traditional gacha RPGs is Summoners War. Since it has been around for so long, it has developed far more than many other games in the genre. With a team of monsters at your disposal, you complete story missions, summon new ones, advance in the game, and level up. If PvP is your thing, there is also that component. Although it's free to play, the grind isn't as severe as it is in some lower quality gachas. There are a lot of free stuff that the game offers you. Even if it's not flawless, there's a good reason why this game has maintained its popularity for more than five years. Just an enjoyable game to play.
Apex Legends Mobile
In 2022, Apex Legends Mobile was released and immediately took off. It belongs to the same genre as PUBG New State and Fortnite as a battle royale shooter. However, this one was released with a lot more polish, great controls, a variety of game types, and more intriguing powers. The default battle royale mode has 20 squads made up of 60 players. Along with a team deathmatch game, there is a ranked variation as well. As you go through the game, you unlock different Legends, and each Legend has a unique set of skills. It's light since it's new, but despite that, it received over ten million downloads in its first month and is actually more enjoyable than the majority of other games in the category.
Call of Duty Mobile
We selected Call of Duty: Mobile as the top Android game of 2019. Call of Duty: Mobile is so wildly popular and has such a good rating that we added it more rapidly than normal. Normally, we wait a bit before adding a game. The game offers a 100-player battle royale mode in addition to a standard FPS online PvP mode. This places it in a unique category where it offers both traditional FPS PvP like Critical Ops or Modern Combat and battle royale like PUBG Mobile. The gaming mechanics are strong and fluid, and there is a surprisingly large amount of content to explore.
Although the game is free to play, the majority of in-game transactions are for cosmetics. If you want more choices, you can find some additional top-notch first-person shooter games or some other shooting games here.
Genshin Impact
Gacha mechanics are used in the action role-playing game Genshin Impact. We selected the match as the finest game of 2020 as well. It garnered a lot of positive reviews when it was first released for its stunning graphics and engaging gameplay. Nobody seems to mind that it resembles Zelda: Breath of the Wild in terms of appearance and gameplay. The game does have a party structure, and it uses a gacha system like other gachas to let you summon new characters. However, the game feels far less constrained than most of its kind because of the aesthetic components, gameplay mechanics, and entirely open world (which includes a glider).
It should continue to be wonderful for a very long time, barring any errors from the developer. Even though it takes some time to set up at initially, you can play on PC or PlayStation with the same saved data. If you want to see more, there are of course other top-notch gacha games here. Similar mechanics may be found in Tower of Fantasy on Google Play, but Genshin does it better.
5.GRID Autosport
When GRID Autosport debuted in 2019, it quickly rose to the top of the list of Android racing games. A rarity in this market, it is a premium game without in-app purchases or advertising. The game also features a ton of content to go through, a ton of cars to unlock, amazing visuals, excellent controls, hardware controller support, and a variety of racing styles.
Although the game is somewhat pricey and lacks a few minor features that racing enthusiasts usually enjoy, it is still among the best racing experiences available on the Play Store. Though not frequently enough to be ideal, it receives enough updates to remain current. Other excellent racing video games are the Asphalt series and Riptide GP. Here, you may find even more fantastic racing games, including the well-liked Asphalt series.
League of Legends:Wild Rift
A 5v5 MOBA is League of Legends: Wild Rift. There used to be a ton of these in Mobile, but a handful of them kind of faded away in recent years. Currently, League of Legends: Wild Rift is arguably the best game available. The average match lasts between 15-20 minutes, which is too long for a mobile MOBA. However, the game is enjoyable, wins cannot be purchased, and the creators are dedicated to maintaining the game's balance.
It's not flawless. It can be annoying when teams in casual games aren't balanced. But little can be done to change the situation. In a genre where nothing has been reliable for a while, this MOBA is absolutely solid. Of course, if you're interested, there are additional excellent mobile MOBAs here.
Legends of Runeterra
One of the most recent Android games on this list is Legends of Runeterra. It's an online combat game with a similar focus to Hearthstone. Players assemble decks of cards and heroes that they have collected. then engage in online combat with them. In general, the gameplay is enjoyable since the game attempts to minimize randomness. There are 24 champions in the game, several playing cards, and you can invite friends to combat with you. Hearthstone dominated this ranking for a while, but now it's time for a new leader. Here are some more fantastic card dueling games.
Levelhead
The same company that created Crashlands, Butterscotch Shenanigans, has released a new platformer called Levelhead. We anticipate Levelhead to stay on this list for a while, just like Crashlands was for a good two or three years. There are 90 levels in this platformer, which has controls that are surprisingly good, and it has some great humor. However, this one stands out from the competition thanks to its very top-notch custom-level construction. Levels created by players can be uploaded to the game. The most well-liked ones wind up in the famous vault of the game after being downloaded by other players.
Additionally, the game includes speedrunning elements and level-specific leaderboards (even the custom ones). Finally, the game has cloud saves and is cross-platform. It fulfills every need for a mobile platformer. This game is really that excellent. If you utilize Google Play Pass, it's also cost-free. Although this is undoubtedly the finest in its category, you should also check out these other excellent platformers.
9.Minecraft
The game Minecraft is well-liked by players of all ages throughout the world. If you've never played, Minecraft immerses you in a vast world where you may create things, fight off enemies, mine things, and pretty much do whatever you want. There is a survival mode where you must gather your own food and resources, as well as a creative mode where you have full access to everything. Numerous new options and information have been added thanks to frequent upgrades.
The game pretty much stands shoulder to shoulder with its PC and console counterparts. Actually, you can engage in multiplayer gaming with users of those platforms. There are in-app purchases, but they are only for things like skin packs that allow for personalization. It's one of the best survival games on Android in addition to being the best sandbox game.
10.Nintendo games
Nintendo has a substantial amount of Android games, and they are all of a high quality. Super Mario Run is their only premium title. Many viewed it as an excessive price. Mechanically, though, it is one of the best mobile platformers. Fire Emblem Heroes (strategy RPG) and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp are among the free-to-play games offered by Nintendo (simulation). Nintendo introduced Dragalia Lost and Dr. Mario World to its catalog in September 2018 and 2019 respectively. Lastly, Mario Kart Tour is the second most popular mobile game of all time, second only to Call of Duty: Mobile. Occasionally, Nintendo's games can be a little rough around the edges, but they all give enjoyable and robust experiences.

So there’s this trend I’m seeing on social media about people boycotting / encouraging people not to buy the upcoming Mass Effect remasters.
The reasonings being somewhat varied, some valid, others not, but mostly centering around one thing in specific; cut content relating to same sex relationships that didn’t make it into the games.
Now, I understand not being interested in the product being offered; I’m probably not going to buy it myself for a lack of specific features like multiplayer and... just not needing the buy the game for my fifth or sixth time. It’s completely valid to think the remasters are just not doing enough for you to justify a purchase, or that their faith in the company doing it properly in their current state isn’t there. I get that.
But the mood that’s come up lately isn’t just disinterest; it’s downright outrage. Violent, ideologically charged opposition to even the concept of the remasters because of a perceived failure to meet their extremely specific and often high standards and notions of progressiveness.
Now it’s not exactly news that Bioware has had a rocky relationship with inclusivity over the years, with queer characters flitting in and out of recognition and prominence, appropriation of queer archetypes, and less than stellar execution of what characters they do include. I’ve had my complaints with these myself from time to time, though it’s still always struck me historically as a generally positive, if clumsy attempt at progress that I appreciated despite the flaws; remember that the original Mass Effect 1 came out in 2007, and was the focus of a major media scandal about even including romantic relationships at all in the game, nevermind same sex ones. That’s 14 years ago! The most recent game in the series is 9 years old!
We can talk about the social standards of the times and the progress we’ve made, and we can also talk about the merits of restoring and improving media as it was, or recreating it to more closely reflect the values of today and which or both of them is a worthwhile pursuit, but I don’t think that’s what’s being sincerely argued here.
What we see instead is some protestation that failure to make the exacting changes that they see fit according to their personal ideology is some kind of radically regressive statement, as if it’s a conscious, malicious decision and not either one made in good faith or not at all. This movement has collectively decided that the remaster needs to contain exactly the changes that fit their fleeting whims or the entire thing’s at best a wash and a wasted effort, and in some cases a ‘homophobic’ statement of hatred, or cynically callous laziness.
Let’s remember; the focus of this argument is the presence of available simulated dating options in a 14 year old game. The arguments posits that some of these alternative options are ones that were cut from the release of the games, notably the first one, and have some or numerous assets that exist in various forms within the game files that with some work can be accessed in the game with user-made modifications. Some of this is true; though much of it is exaggerated or misconstrued in terms of its scope or viability.
Many of these people just assume that this cut content that someone else has restored in a mod somewhere is just some sort of simple toggle done in moments without effort, ignoring the work those modders did on their own time and money to introduce those features.
Even if we just hand wave any standards of quality or continuity or polish and integration these mods have, you have to consider the dozens to hundreds of volunteer man hours of labor these fans put into many of those mods to make them viable that a company paying it’s employees a fair wage and time to do without overworking has to budget. Which I should mind to you is something also incredibly topically relevant in game dev these days. Adding new content costs money. Restoring old content, still costs money.
Even then, the viability of many of those original assets is at question in itself; the 'ingredients’ used to create the content are not equivalent to the ‘cooked’ content found in the game files, so some of them are difficult to work with or lacking in features or quality. Hell, we know for a fact that half of the god damn development data for ME1 is just fucking gone, which is why the DLC isn’t making an appearance in the remaster at all; it just doesn’t exist anymore and would need to be remade from utter scratch.
Now there’s a dozen reasons undertakings like these would or wouldn’t make their list of priorities for remaster given the other work they are doing re; texture and model uprezzing, gameplay updates, etc. It’s not exactly strange for them to recreate the game largely as it was with a more limited scope of changes. Perhaps the decision was made to preserve some parts of the game largely as it was; with mostly minor cosmetic changes to things like Miranda’s camera angles; things that don’t have much overhead or ripple effect. Perhaps restoring the content was considered, but didn’t make the cut- maybe for the same reasons it didn’t make it into the game in 2007. Maybe for different ones.
Only the people involved know.
Now, would I like to see some of that content restored and improved? Sure! I think it’d have been a great thing if they’d promoted the series as having new or restored content; if they’d promised us such things. But they haven’t, and while it’s one thing to praise taking an initiative like that if they had, I think it’s completely unreasonable to be outraged that they didn’t.
We can celebrate that kind of outstanding and excellent steps forward in inclusivity, but we have to understand that while someone not being ahead of the curve may not be exciting or even disappointing; it is not in itself an act of directed aggression. And treating it like one is a waste of time and energy that we can direct to protesting actual aggression, or celebrating those outstanding steps.
But here’s the major thing that kills me; all those mods they love and praise aren’t going anywhere.
The remaster will come out and unless Bioware is so completely tone deaf and media blind from the past year they pull a WC3, the old versions of the game will all still be available. All those user made mods they cite in these arguments about “how easy” it is to add content to the game will still be there, ready to play as they always were. Some of them might even work or be easily made to work with the new versions!
All of that will still be there! And we’ll have access to a new version of the trilogy that is far more accessible to new players who haven’t yet been exposed to so much of the games content that they are desperate for more of it.
Just look at Mass Effect 1; that game has not aged well, and it was kind of a sloppy mess even when it came out! How many new players can we get to enjoy all the good things the series has to offer with an easily accessed, more enjoyable package to play through the entire series without issue? I’ve done numerous replays of the trilogy through the years, and Mass Effect 1 is always a huge stumbling block. It’s just a pain in the ass, straight out. Don’t you want at least the option to fix that?
And if not, you don’t have to buy it and no harm is done to you! Enjoy your existing version with your mods and familiar features and flaws.
And if you truly, genuinely care so passionately about Bioware improving their record of inclusivity; look instead to the new game that’s coming out and look forward to that instead. Every game in the franchise has been better than the last at this; ME1 cut the same sex relationships, but ME2 had some. ME3 had even more, and then Andromeda had yet even further than that after patching!
How many will the new game have?
Look forward to that and make it clear to bioware you’re looking for that in their games; just.... ease off this ridiculous vitriol in trying to get people to avoid the remaster because it’s not good enough for you. No one needs to have this bullying done to either the developers themselves or the players looking to buy the game for themselves or others. It’s simply not productive.
Especially with this franchise’s sordid history with excessive media outrage and entitlement that’s been absolutely exhausted.
Just... relax. And have some perspective.

Blood on Our Stage - Vampire Nagito Komaeda x Human Female Reader -Part 1 (Slight/Platonic Female Reader x Hajime Hinata)
So, this is an old fic I updated to fit these characters because I want to continue it :)
NEEDED CONTEXT FOR THIS AU: Hajime and Nagito are step brothers, (Y/N)/Reader is a human, Hajime and Nagito are vampires, and Hajime did indeed get into the Main Course at Hope’s Peak, for acting.
Tumblr media
The paycheck… It's all about the paycheck...
You took a deep breath, reassuring yourself for what seemed like the hundredth time that year… or that hour.
Smile, s-smile. Breathe, lean into him. It has to look real, (Y/N). God… it’s a whole new level of crackhead when you stutter to yourself in your thoughts.
 Dissociate.
What are we having for dinner? How many more steps ‘til that damn egg hatches? If it’s another fucking Diglett I swear I’ll go apeshit.
You shifted to your right, the most forced of grins creeping onto your cosmetic-plastered face. You let your head fall onto Hajime’s shoulder. Convincing right? Touching is convincing. Random gentle displays of affection are convincing...
By this time, you were nearly blind from the flash of some fifty or so cameras in your face, anyway, so why not just pretend that the photographers and press were blind as well?
  Why not, why not?
You pretended in every other aspect of your life.
"Isn't that right, (Y/N)?" Hajime’s voice shook you out of your trance, and you turned your head, letting go of his arm, which you had grabbed out of habit. His sparklingly white teeth - sharper than the average man's - gleamed down at you, and you felt that usual pang of fear run down your spine and chill your bones. Even attached to the gums of the sweetest boy on earth, you’d never get used to the sight.
It's all a show, (Y/N), a game. Pretend. "Fangs for the fans, and all that"
How long would that farce last until people started to realize?
What had Hajime said earlier that month? You retreated into yourself, thinking deeply, trying desperately to calm the anxiety that rose with at the sight of his flesh-tearing canines...
   _______________________________________________________________
"I can bare my fangs at interviews, photoshoots… you know, when the paparazzi are around. It’s what my dad wants,” he sighed, shaking his head. “Don't worry about it, (Y/N). Honestly, you freak out over the silliest things sometimes.” He ruffled your hair. “It will look like I'm dedicated to the role, or something like that… whatever. People will love it, trust me."
      ___________________________________________________________
But you never could. How could you? A monster with a secret, stupidly displaying that secret openly to the world? No… trusting meant removing little stones from that carefully built wall, which sub-sequentially meant getting hurt, and not just emotionally. You recited this mantra to yourself almost routinely; something you’d picked up from someone very close to your heart. Isn’t it funny how we steal little bits of personality from those we love most?
You knew Hajime just followed whatever his father commanded, that he’d do anything to feel like he mattered, that people cared. He’d done all this: the acting lessons, depending on daddy’s money, the unless studying and promoting himself, just to get into that stupid school and kickstart his illustrious career.
"Isn't that right, (Y/N)??" Hajime tenderly brought his hand up, stroking your shoulder awkwardly. The clench in his jaw, however, wasn't friendly at all. You couldn’t really blame him, though. He was doing it for your sake, after all. You had to get through this, and he knew he had to pull you through; everything depended on it.
How could this flock of idiots not tell the “chemistry” was forced???
"Uh… o-of course! Yeah!" You smiled, a fake chuckle escaping your lips, and the crowd of reporters and internet journalists roared in front of you. Of course they did… wasn't everything the disciplined and people-pleasing boy beside you said fucking hilarious? You sighed, returning your gaze to the mass of people below you as you and your leading man sat raised on a platform behind a pretentiously high table.
Just let Hajime handle all the questions, you thought to yourself indifferently. You always did. They rarely directed them at you specifically, anyway. So much for your dream: to stun the world as an independent starlet, a crimson-hot femme fatale. It was always ‘Hinata Hajime’s doe-eyed leading lady!’, ‘Hajime’s little love interest!’, never ‘(Y/N) (L/N)... featuring Hajime Hinata!’ But... you were famous, and with no little chunk of change to boot… you should’ve been thankful… right?
So why weren’t you…?
Your eyes scanned the faces before you, and you realized that you hadn't… really looked at them until now. Yes, the usual prolific online bloggers and huge theatre junkies were there, and Mr. Hinata of course. He wouldn't miss out on one of his company’s press meetings for the world, especially with his money-making beloved son in the spotlight. He was so anal, how could anything possibly go off without a hitch unless he was there?
You wondered if the girl next to him knew he was a ravenous monster as well, but thought better of it. Of course, she didn't know. You shouldn't have even known. But you did, and it plagued you every day of your life.
Fuck... you just wanted to go back to your room and overthink in peace. It was embarrassingly uncomfortable to do so in public
Mr. Hinata sat sternly upright, with his polished, slick hair, in his polished, slick shoes and extravagantly tailored navy suit, his secretary at his side, brushing his hand unnoticeably between the chairs. His wife would never care, anyway. To their right sat a rosy-cheeked intern, spunky and full of character. Holding a clipboard between perfectly painted nails, the only thing that spoke louder than her bright smile was her neon miniskirt. She must not have known, either. No human simply knew, and still managed to look that innocent and lively. The PR girls loved press conferences, and each new show only yielded fresh publicity. This most recent show, set to premiere the following night, was a tale of romance: A vampire lord and his human lover: a medieval era period piece. Of course, for this reason, Hajime did nothing to hide his all-too-real fangs.
You loved a good historical romance, and loved being in one even more. It had always been your goal as a starting actress to take the lead in at least one period play, be it Victorian, colonial, medieval.. but... it had not turned out quite the way you planned...
A few other members of the Hinata family accompanied their revered head of  the household… or was it head of the clan… coven? Whatever, it was expected. The murderous bloodsuckers always clung to their leader’s side, and could always be found lurking around Hinata’s estate, if they weren’t already crammed up his ass looking for approval.
A flash came from the reporter to the left, directly into your vision, and left you dazed.
Fuck… you seethed internally. Calm down. Calm down. The paycheck. That's it. This is almost over, anyway. Why did you always find yourself spacing out at the worst possible times? You acknowledged that it was how your body coped with the overwhelming urge to break down, but damn if it wasn’t inconvenient at the minute. Nothing screamed ‘I have something to hide’ like acting shady in front of a hundred people…
You leaned into Hajime again. Sell the relationship. Sell the love.
You exhaled in exhaustion. It wasn’t that you didn’t love Hajime… you did, just, not like this. Never like this. Lying to millions of fans and the press, pretending Hajime was anything other than a brother-like figure to you just to line his father’s pockets, tore you apart more than keeping his immortality a secret. Denying you both a chance at real love for fear of scandal… you were sure that there was no phrase you’d ever grow to hate more than “The Hinata Theatre Company!” Ironic, wasn’t it, that at one point in time, you begged to be here?
You found that scoping out a crowd lowered the anxiety you had about actually being in front of them. It's funny, many people asked how you could possibly be afraid of crowds or public speaking when you were a damn Broadway-level star. Your answer was always the same: your rush of adrenaline and passion for theatre got you through a show, but anywhere else but on that stage, and a crowd turned your mind to jelly. It was different… walking out for a performance tamed the butterflies that flew around inside your stomach.
Of course, there was always the fact that your boss could tear you apart at a moment’s notice that contributed to the anxiety, but you obviously couldn't share that little bit of information with anyone. It was all so hard to process, that this kind young man beside you could be something so fearsome, that your whole life was a public sham. You’d never forget the day you’d found out… how it changed everything. You shouldn’t have to be afraid of your best friend, you just shouldn’t. But how could you ever truly trust him again?
Your eyes bounced once, twice around the room.
  ...No
You gasped, breath catching in your throat as your eyes caught on something that caused you to jump slightly in your seat.
"You ok?" Hajime whispered, the crowd going noticeably silent for a moment. Mr. Hinata glared in your direction. A silent warning, reminding you that even one wrong move made his company look bad, and that would not end so well for you. That was the shining aspect of Hajime’s personality, that he was nothing like his father.
"Yeah, y-yeah," you spoke airily, cheeks heating. "I just slipped to the edge of my seat a little, almost fell!" You lied timidly, a small laugh.
They'll eat that shit up. Soft-spoken, innocent, clumsy girls are all the rage! Of course, Hajime picked up on the lie immediately, catching the change in tone, the skipping of your heartbeat. Being an immortal freak had its perks.
The bright-eyed boy beside you patted your arm, the crowd chuckling politely before returning to their bombardment of questions.
Your eyes flew back to the corner of the room, back to the object that had you startled in the first place. You tried to tell yourself you’d imagined it, but there was no mistake,
 It was him...
Standing there in the entranceway, so dimly lit, he hid in the alcove. There was no mistaking his favorite jacket, the fabric ripped and weathered from use. There was no mistaking the intricate, almost root-like pale green veins which spiraled up his arms, told a story across his milky collarbone, tumbled down his wrists, and made him all the more intimidating. Intoxicating. There was no mistaking that full head of tousled hair, brightly standing out even in the meager lighting in that disregarded corner of the room, messy whisps branching out dangerously; an air of nonchalance and bored irreverence. Smug bastard…
And there was absolutely no mistaking the way those bright eyes illuminated his white skin in contrast, a frightening and ethereal glow shooting off of him in waves. Hajime’s chestnut-brown eyes never mimicked that terrifying iridescence, but then again, Hajime never took his life-sustaining drink from a human host. Your hands began to subconsciously shake. From fear or the itching desire to… you didn’t know, throw your arms around him, touch his cheek just once... ? You never knew with him. He was a wild thing, a beast untamable. But why the hell was he here?
Carelessly he leaned against the door frame. His tongue shot out predatorily, running along his lower lip in one fluid motion. His knuckles raised, brushing against the green of his coat and coming up to scratch the side of his face.
❘ What are you doing here?! ❘ You sent your thoughts out in waves so loud you might as well have been screaming. You knew immediately that he had taken them in, absorbing your mental cursing and inner toil like sun rays. It was a power and privilege only those of his kind who were purebred enjoyed.
He did not answer, but merely tilted his head, the corner of his lip rising in that maddening grin he always threw at you. An impish smirk hiding mischief and chaotic intentions, you were sure.
You knew it would be mere moments ‘til your flawless "boyfriend" beside you noticed his presence as well, and you feared what might become of this night that was supposed to be of celebration. Almost as if on cue, Hajime’s words halted to a stop. That evil smirk only widened, a small snort shaking the intruder’s chest.
"Nagito..." Hajime murmured through clenched teeth, his hand shooting down to grab your wrist. "He's here."
"I know..." your words shook, just loud enough for any non-human in the room to hear. Now it was time for you to be Hajime’s rock. Nagito's head bobbed, looking down at his old ripped jeans, and you saw Mr. Hinata's eye twitch before you, his vampiric hearing triggered immediately upon hearing your quiet exchange with Hajime.
Mr. Hinata followed your eyes to the back of the room, his fiery glare landing on the face of his eldest and only step-son in the shadows.
Was it too late to run back into the dressing room and never come out?
You could feel the tension in the air, a line of electricity connecting the three vampires like mental twine, ready to break at any moment. It was like watching three animals square off, sizing up their threat on a National Geographic documentary. The other Hinata coven members, all also fierce bloodsuckers in their own right, merely sat forward politely, sensing Nagito's aura but knowing better than to give him the time of day. After all, alerting the press to his presence would certainly not be a wise way to stay on Mr. Hinata’s good side.
No one outside of the family even knew about the existence of the elder brother. He was an embarrassment, a stain on Mr. Hinata’s designer tie. In the packed room, he looked so out of place, with dark, torn clothes in a sea of try-hard collared shirts and dresses. Sure, everyone who was anyone in the media world had turned up for this interview, and would also return for the opening night the next day, but everyone who was anyone never included Nagito. He made sure of that. He just had to stick out, be different, didn’t he? Even among a bunch of immortal freaks, boy… was he a freak.
Oh no, mommy remarried some rich man then got herself killed, better act like a little ungrateful little prick. Woe is me, I have super good luck that is sometimes super bad! No one understands me!!!
He sickened you, the way he did his best to destroy what he and Hajime’s family had built, all in the name of his backwards and twisted idea of “hope.” As if he didn't live like a prince because of the Hinatas’ hard work. Don’t get it twisted, you hated Mr. Hinata and would love to see the Hinata empire burn, but this company, the desire to be recognized and worth something, was all that held dear Hajime up. It was his only dream, and he deserved it. Nagito didn’t have a right to tear Mr. Hinata down if he had to wreck Hajime to do it.
He disgusted you, you’d decided months back, to make it all easier on yourself. Everything he’d done, the trouble he’d caused, the hurt he’d caused so many people. Routinely, you reinforced to yourself that you hated Nagito Komaeda
...You were disgusted by the way you… just... couldn’t hate him. It didn’t feel right. Something felt… wrong in hating him.
Your heart lurched, meeting his eyes again.
Why not? Why not just hate him, (Y/N)? Like everyone else…
Why was it so hard? You were supposed to be with Hajime. And Hajime hated Nagito. Everyone who knew Nagito hated Nagito. But… telling yourself you were anything but infatuated with that dangerous creature… was a lie. You owed everything, good and bad, to that feral, insane man.
Your nerves and the hairs on your arms pricked up like an agitated cat. Why why why? Why would he even do this? He knew what showing up here would start. He was born to start shit, to brew altercation, to cook up conflict. Maybe you should give him the benefit of the doubt? Perhaps he finally came to an event to support his darling step-brother, but the way he bore his fangs when his eyes met Hajime’s said otherwise.
❘ Leave. Just Leave. You're just here to antagonize me and I won't let you be a problem. Not today. This is my day… ❘ Hajime spat mentally, and his thoughts burned through your own and, you're sure, Nagito’s.
❘ Aren’t all the days yours, Your Majesty? ❘ Nagito’s thoughts were more severe, yet more playful, taunting, careless, a venomous snarl behind every synapse pulse.
❘ ...Leave. ❘ Hajime pulsed back in warning.
❘ ....Or what? ❘ Nagito’s own ominous threat reverberated through your cranium. You pressed a hand to your temple, an angry, stinging sensation pulsating through your head. Having a vampire read one’s mind was uncomfortable enough: feeling the slight probing and perhaps needing an aspirin after, but being the third line in a purebred pissing match… it was a call you desperately wanted to hang up on. But.. humans didn’t naturally hear a vampire’s thoughts on accident. No, you were hearing this conversation because you were meant to, someone wanted you to. You had no powers of your own, but Nagito kept you trapped in this nonverbal battle, strung up betwixt two immortal minds. You brought the back of your free hand up to your nose, wiping away a stripe of red vitality that began to flow from both nostrils. The panging inside, the angry shouting in your mind only got louder.

Random Pokemon Generator v2
Anyone remember when I made a Random Pokemon Generator 3+ years ago? No? Well shoutout to those of you who do and Noel (who’s politeness prompted this), because I finally updated it! But first, for those who have no idea or don’t remember what I’m talking about…what am I talking about?
Random Pokemon Generator Push button > get a randomly generated Pokemon or 6. Many of these exist on the internet so why’s mine different? Well there’s a lot of filters and you can generate as many Pokemon as you want!
What’s been updated?
I overhauled it. It’s better optimized and should be easier for me to update going forward. It also has its own unique look now instead of looking like just another page on my main site. This isn’t just for the aesthetics (as much as I like the different aesthetics), but it helps with optimization and some future ideas. I also changed the file path, so make sure to update your bookmarks.
Galar Pokemon! Finally added them!
Icons instead of animated 3D models. The animated 3D models are harder to source and prevented me from including certain Pokemon that didn’t have them. The icons are easier to source and edit if needed. As well, those with weaker internet connections should find they load faster.
Basic Filters/All Filters tabs. Instead of an all or nothing approach to the filters, I’ve made two tabs. Basic Filters has filters commonly found in Random Pokemon Generators for quick and easy randomizations, while All Filters contains all the filters (more are planned and in development!).
Forms to Include filter has been split. Forms to Include was previously a flat structure, each Pokemon could only be marked as one form type. That’s now been split between “Forms” and “Tags”.
The Tag Filter is like Forms to Include, but Pokemon can now be marked with multiple tags. They’re split between Species and Form Tags for clarity. I’ve added some new ones as well (like Legendary, Sexually Dimorphic, etc).
The Form Filter (new one) has two toggles: one for whether to include all forms or just the species and another to remove cosmetic forms, aka forms that just look different. If you run the randomizer without the cosmetic ban, you have a ~5% chance of getting Alcremie. Because it has 64 forms. It’s a lot.
Better Management. So I learned a thing or two about project management since becoming a tech lead somehow (go imposter syndrome!). In the footer of the new randomizer you’ll find an updates log (About > Change Log), future ideas and in-progress features (About > Project Tracker), as well as a contact links if you find any bugs or have suggestions (Contact or About > Bugs/Suggestions).
Now the big statement: I will update this again and it won’t take 3 years. “When will the next update be?” Honestly? IDK. My day job involves me programming 8 hours a day, so over the past few years I generally avoid programming in my spare time because of burn out. Art and video games are nice breaks from that. That said, with the improvements made in the overhaul and a better understanding of project management (go pseudo-agile practices!) I should be better at targeting smaller but more frequent updates.
Next update is already underway and will be adding even more filters~
You can check it out here if you’d like! (saving you from having to scroll back up to get the link ;D)

Update 06/03/2020 PC: 1.63.133.1020 / Mac: 1.63.133.1220 Console: Version 1.25
The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle Expansion Pack drops in just a mere few days, and since we know that living your best Eco Lifestyle can take a little extra elbow grease, we’ve added some exciting quality-of-life improvements to help pave the way.
Between Inventory updates, new CAS assets from a surprise partnership with M·A·C, the return of two beloved NPCs, as well as some really cool new Build features, we hope you enjoy the update.
-SimGuruJill & SimGuruRusskii
NEW & IMPROVED FEATURES
INVENTORY UPDATES
Fellow hoarders, this one’s for you: We have updated the Sim Inventory with the ability to Filter, Sort, Favorite, Multi-Select, and Multi-Sell in one easy flick of the wrist. Managing that cumbersome pile of collectables you’ve been racking up for the past five years has never been so easy!
FREE PLACEMENT OF DOORS AND WINDOWS
Following in true Eco Lifestyle fashion, Door and Window placement is now also Off-the-Grid. But not that kind of grid. The limiting kind of tile grid that used to keep you from placing your windows and doors precisely where you wanted them. By holding down the Alt key while dragging, you can enjoy the smooth sensations of free Door and Window placement.
LADDERS
Ladders have been added as part of the Build System. Find your free Classic Wooden Ladder in the Build catalog in the Stairs (& Ladders) category. Unlike Island Living’s Dock and Ladder objects for use on water lots, these Ladders can be placed anywhere on your lot and like stairs, they can be used as a means for Sims to traverse from one floor to another.
M·A·C COSMETICS
Did you say you needed some fresh looks for your Sims? We’ve collaborated with none other than M·A·C Cosmetics to bring you 12 fashion-forward makeup assets suited for everything from everyday to night out glam. If you’re not already using it, on PC and Mac we recommend trying out the “Uncompressed Sim Textures” setting in the Options Menu, which is now enabled by default on the High and Ultra graphics settings profiles in order to see these looks really shine. While console versions of The Sims 4 do not have the setting in the Options Menu, each console spec is automatically using the optimal graphical settings based on system resources.
REPO PERSON NPC
The Repo Person NPC has graduated with honors from Discover University’s University of Britechester with a Degree in Villainy and has comfortably taken up residence in Base Game. Now everyone can taste their wrath if Bill payments fall behind.
BILLS UPDATE
Speaking of Bills, we’ve added a cohesive breakdown of Sim’s Bills information that can be accessed via an interaction on the Mailbox or Phone. Now instead of lumping everything together, you can see what percentage of your Bills go to Water, what percentage go to Power, insight into any Fees, Reductions, or Penalties. All this and more, calculated and cleanly presented for your finer understanding.
LEGACY NEIGHBORHOOD MAP TAGS
We have gone back and added Map Tags with Neighborhood Descriptions to existing neighborhoods that didn’t yet have them. We now have delightful icons, names, and descriptions for the no-longer-forgotten Willow Creek, Oasis Springs, Newcrest, and Windenburg. Ok, feel free to freak out now.
OFF-THE-GRID UPDATES
This one is tricky to list out in a single paragraph with attempted wit, so I’ll just drop this bullet list off right here:
The Off-the-Grid Lot Trait now ties into our new Bill updates, drawing from Water and Power utility. Without excess utility, lots function off-the-grid as they did before. With excess utility, they function more like an on-the-grid lot.
There is a new Off-the-Grid Build category that will allow players to find Off-the-Grid and survival-esque objects.
We've done a pass on candles to ensure they properly work when electricity is out.
Off-the-Grid supported Fridges now have an "Add Ice" interaction that will allow them to keep food preserved—so long as the ice remains!
Sim will now autonomously use stoves and fridges when Off-the-Grid, not just grills.
Harvestables now grant unique buffs when consumed off-the-grid.
Dogs and Toddlers now have a unique interaction to be bathed in Bathtubs even when Off-the-Grid.
Objects can now be cleaned using the "Use Elbow Grease" interaction. Yummy.
Players are able to gather Water utility from fishing spots in base game. With Island Living they can gather from the waterfall. Water can also be gathered from any world with swimmable 'ocean' water. With Seasons, water can be gathered from snow drifts.
Off-the-Grid specific buffs will now take into account motives and Sim traits when determining if a Sim should receive a positive or negative moodlet when living Off-the-Grid.
We've added multiple new recipes that can be cooked while Off-the-Grid given a Sim has the proper cooking skill level. Some recipes require special ingredients like the Boiling Frog Hot Pot—which adds a really neat survival element to off-the-grid gameplay, while providing Sims with powerful new moodlets that will help them survive in the wild.
NO TRESPASSING
Some people who have the Vampires Game Pack appreciate Vlad’s antics more than others. I personally love receiving a charming visit from Vlad, and sometimes I could really use a kind compliment about my neck. But we’ve heard there are a select few that don’t quite like having their Sim’s necks bitten and motives tanked by an invasive nighttime visitor with no respect for boundaries. Keep Vampires and other unwanted visitors at bay with a new No Trespassing interaction we’ve added to the Door.
SEND HOME INTERACTION
Speaking of unwelcome visitors, we’ve also added a new Send Home interaction that’s available on visiting NPCs or as a self-interaction in the case of multiple visitors. How is this interaction any different from Ask To Leave or Go Away, you might ask? Convenience. Unlike its less efficient predecessors, this interaction is nearly instantaneous and leaves your visitors with no hurt feelings or Relationship impact. We added it as a useful tool for players, not necessarily as a story-telling mechanism.
BUILD MODE ITEMS GRANT GAMEPLAY EFFECTS
How you build your lot can now affect your gameplay. Certain objects such as wall patterns, floor patterns, fences, and columns bring different gameplay modifiers. Some of these modifiers affect how your Bills and utilities are calculated by decreasing or increasing your Power or Water utility production or usage, as well increasing or decreasing the price of bills. Environment Score can now be impacted by certain objects and materials. Drywall walls without wall patterns applied now decrease environment score like they did in The Sims 3! The choice of floor and wall materials used can also affect the ability to spread fire or puddles at an increased or lessened rate. And if you’d rather build your lot without having to think about these things, don’t worry. There’s an Option in the Gameplay menu to turn all of this off.
FIREFIGHTER NPC
Oh hey, and speaking of Fire, that reminds me. Did you hear that we’ve added Firefighter NPCs to the game? We took nods from classic Firefighter NPC behavior from The Sims, The Sims 2, and The Sims 3 and added a few small twists for The Sims 4. When a fire breaks out, Firefighters will come automatically to your lot if you already have a Fire Alarm installed. That way, if you still like to let things burn baby burn, you can just “accidentally” forget to place a Fire Alarm. It’s okay. We won’t tell anybody. If you honestly did forget to place a Fire Alarm, you can call the Fire Department from the Phone or by clicking on the fire itself. If the Fire Department is called, but there is not an active fire, they will call you on your lapse in judgement and charge you a fine. You won’t be punished if there was legitimately a fire that was extinguished before they arrive though. The Firefighter Uniform can be accessed in CAS and gives any Sim wearing it the Fireproof Buff, which gives them some extra protection against fires as well as make them more efficient at putting out fires themselves. It’s worth noting that Firefighter NPC’s do not show up in Island Living’s Sulani. Sulani already has their local Fire Brigade to handle these kinds of emergencies and besides, who wants to wear all that heavy Firefighter gear in the tropics?
STYLED LOOKS FOR TOTS AND KIDS
More than 20 New Styled Looks have been added for Children and Toddlers, using existing Base Game CAS assets to better flesh out some outfit categories that previously felt sparse.
BALANCING PASS OF PHONE CALL INVITATIONS
After five years of Expansion Packs, Game Packs, and Stuff Packs our phone call invites were admittedly starting to get a little spammy. Moments after moving in, you’ve got Lucas Munch hitting you up, asking you to go to the Bluffs with him. Then not long after, you might have had Vivian Lewis asking you to join her at The Spice Festival. Jeez, let me get settled in first, why don’t ya? We’ve done a tuning pass to rebalance all of these previously competing Phone invites to give you a more meaningful and holistic experience.
LESS INVASIVE EARBUDS
In the same vein as the above balancing pass, we wanted to smooth out one of our more pressing notifications. The free earbuds pop-up that comes with Fitness Stuff has been changed to a more passive TNS and gifts your Sim the earbuds automatically when it triggers. The days of telling the game over and over that you don’t want free earbuds, or worse - hitting OK by accident - is a thing of the past.
CONSOLE UPDATES
Eco Lifestyle releasing on the same day across all platforms marks an important milestone for The Sims 4 as Simmers get to play the same content and share new creations on The Gallery together. In this update Console Simmers have a few additional features to improve their quality of life:
We have added a new Controls Overlay Reminder that shows up throughout CAS, Gallery, Live Mode and Build Mode which should make it easier for new Simmers to jump in and not need to remember all the controls.
If you don’t want to be reminded and you know all the controls by heart, you can turn off the Controls Overlay Reminder in the Game Options > Other menu
The controller overlay screens remain available for those who want them.
Now onto the fixes and updates:
The Sims 4
macOS players should no longer encounter the setLocale.zsh error. However, both Origin and TS4 must be up to date.
Sims will not have random accessories or clothing pieces when changing into towels.
Style Influencer Sims can now remove trends they have created, with the Reset Trend interaction.
Fixed an issue where Sims were not able to Care for Self after they had been in daycare when they were a Toddler.
Some roofs were updated to remove the appearance of black sides when placed on ceilings.
Active Sims will no longer get a Tense moodlet for lack of exercise when finishing exercising. Do you even push up bro?
Sims will no longer get the Fatigued moodlet immediately after starting a workout. Now, we know that endurance takes time to build, but we decided to give Sims a chance to enjoy their workout before being completely fatigued right away.
Child Sims will now be able to unlock the Video Gaming Skill after they have maxed out their Mental Skill instead of their Motor Skill, which was causing adult skills to reset for Child Sims when they completed aspirations.
Fixed an issue in which some Households did not have their names displayed in Manage Worlds.
Corrected requirements for completing the Great Landscaper task that is part of the Mansion Baron Aspiration.
Fixed an issue in which when utilities are shut off (either because of past due bills or Off-The-Grid) adding objects from Build Mode such as Lamps, would add them turned On.
The Water Pump, Fishing Holes, Romantic Garden’s Whispering Wishing Well, and Get Famous’s Luminary’s Exotic Water Garden now have the Gather Water interaction when the Off-the-Grid Lot Trait is applied.
Fixed an issue in which the Subtle Saucer Light was not being so subtle and made objects added from Build Mode be placed randomly when dragged near it.
Teen Sims will now see the appropriate tooltip when trying to acquire the Fertile Trait from the Rewards Store. No, they are not Robots.

RUMOR: Death Stranding Extended Edition
In case you haven't heard, a rumor on ResetERA came up in regards of Death Stranding, claiming the game will have a Extended Edition soon. Although many of us expect just a update so the game can run flawlessly on PS5, this additional content is probably coming to PS4 too, which leads some to believe a DLC could be coming our way.
Not only that, but shortly after the release in November 8, 2019, Nicolas Winding-Refn tweeted that "Heartman will return". However, with the COVID-19 pandemic going on, Livedoor reports that Kojima had "a major project" cancelled by May 2020 - which I totally think might have been a DLC which couldn't have come to fruition with all travel bans and sanitary restrictions.
Maybe the idea fell apart and all we got was nothing... Or was it nothing? Death Stranding is getting a full novelization in two new books written by the game's co-writer, Kenji Yano. The books are set to be released in less than a month in February 23rd, 2021. This is suspicious if you think of it and it wouldn't be farfetched to believe that a new DLC and new books will launch around the same time. Also, I'm pretty excited to see whatever comes out of the pages: new lore and new canon source material is always fun.
Despite the irrational hate, Death Stranding has been receiving constant updates on PC with a Half Life Alyx cosmetic DLC and a Cyberpunk 2077 DLC, which included new gameplay features, which implies that work is being done and the game being improved a year after its debut.

The Sims 4: New Game Patch (June 3rd, 2020)
There’s a new Sims 4 PC update available via Origin.
Remove all MODS and Custom Content before updating your game
Fixed an issue in which some Roof Eaves were clipping into enclosed blocks.
Fixed an issue in which the Clean Up interaction would drop off the queue if dirty dishes were placed on a counter.
Since we added a new trash bike to Eco Lifestyle, we’ve made the bicycle helmet available for everyone in CAS. Now you can outfit your Sim in a helmet, regardless of owning a pack that includes bikes.
Sims will now not receive occasional text messages asking them for a Date from other Sims that they are not romantically involved with. Because it was aaaakward…
Toddler Sims will not be able to Ask for Mentoring on some in progress mentoring interactions to strangers. Except for “Invite to Bob to Music” because we can dance if we want to, we can leave our friends behind, ‘cause your friends don’t dance and if they don’t dance well... they’re not friends of mine.
Fixed an issue with textures for the tops and landings on some Staircases.

100% agree w ur take on acnh!!! i think its unfinished and i have felt this way from the start. it has honestly disappointed me so much given how hyped i was when it was announced :( i love the new features but they dont make up for the lack of old features and the overall lack of charm acnh has imo
like, where are the gyroids! why did they get rid of furniture series that we've had since day one! where's the roost? kapp'n? like i love the dodos but kapp'n could have just as easily been the one in charge. customization is limited, and in some cases you have to go to a friend's town just to get the recolor you want; but reese and cyrus are reduced to a single, oddly specific event.
like i remember deciding to get my 3DS when they announced what would become new leaf, and ended up waiting as they pushed it back, i'm not sure how long it was but it FELT like two years, especially since we had to wait for localization as well; but it was worth it! i got 2000 hours out of that game before i was fully burnt out, i had some internet trouble at first but i had fun, making and sharing designs, working on my town, messing around with friends now and then...
when new horizons came out, i heard from so many ppl that it felt unfinished, and that each update felt like they were finishing the game after the fact. even so, a year later i finally get to play, and everyone's burnt out on all the features already. the few people who i connected with were crushing roaches when they showed me their houses, and at least one of them i knew to be an AVID ac fan.
but like. i see all the collabs they're announcing, pocket camp is still going strong(not a criticism against the players, btw!), its like...its the money, not the content. people stopped playing nh, stopped paying for the online service, stopped buying it because its so expensive on top of having to afford a switch, its not bringing them income like collabs and a lootbox/cosmetics game is gonna, so they're not gonna put the effort in.
i miss when the goal when making games was to make a solid, polished, enjoyable experience. and what's worse is people are still capable of making good games, putting the effort in, giving us a labor of love, so its just greed that's stopping them at this point.

Week 10: Social Gaming
Aha. When it comes to the word ‘game’, it triggers our interest as who doesn’t like to have fun? Games have been developed into social gaming in this digital era. A few years ago, social gaming really took off on Facebook, titles with large audiences (Community BUFF 2018).
Tumblr media
Ayogo (2010) proposed that:
Social games have the obvious common features of being multi-player and being based on social platforms. — Nick O’Neill from Social Times
One of the most important elements of social gaming is the social part (Community BUFF 2018). Social games are generally structured around more intimate interactions between players. Now, most of the social games incorporate in-game purchases feature for this genre of games to monetize their efforts.
Tumblr media
This brings us to the debate of ..
Are gaming communities becoming less about play and more about monetization?
First, we look at the primary monetization models used by game developers and publishers in Asia which fall under three categories free-to-play (F2P), premium, and subscription, stated by Niko Partners (2020). F2P games provide players free access to a significant portion of the game, and revenue comes from advertisers or from users paying for additional in-game items and content. Premium games allows players to purchase additional downloadable content (DLC) or expansion content after paying a one-time fee to access the game while subscription games is where players pay a monthly fee to access an individual game or selection of games with DLC and expansion content. As F2P is the most popular model which accounted for 80% of all digital games revenue in 2019, the blog will focus on the F2P game example.
Free-to-play (F2P)
Fortnite is described as biggest console Free-to-play game of all time, both in terms of revenue and monthly active players (Portugal 2018). It brought Epic Games more than $300 million a month in 2018 with the game’s slick monetization system. Fortnite generates revenue through two monetization mechanics: microtransactions & the latest hot trend in F2P, “Battle Pass”. Microtransactions allow players to purchase cosmetic items in game’s shop of their choice such as character skins, emotes or dances. The real money maker of Fortnite is Battle Pass that gives player access to up to 100 tiers of rewards, including exclusive customization items, V-Bucks (the in-game currency) and XP boosts. Players can go with free Battle Pass with scarce rewards at very few tiers or $9.50 premium Battle Pass where they get rewards at every tier up to 100, or the $28 premium pass which comes with 25 additional tiers. Fortnite is based on a seasonal approach where each season lasts about 3 months and new contents will be released along with new Battle Pass.
youtube
Fortnite has been a successful social game that engage its consumers with its regularly updated contents and rewards that can be purchased at a reasonable pricing. As now there are too many games, players are becoming more hesitant to spend a large amount of money for a game they don’t know and are moving towards other options (Portugal 2018). In fact, developments costs exploded in recent years which became a challenge for the gaming industry to respond to consumers’ changing habits and expectations while covering their costs. Thus, today the gaming communities can be said to be a good mixture of monetization and play, because only if there is enough money, only then there will be good release of game play.
Tumblr media
Well, from my view, if you have the ability to make certain in-app purchases and it gives you the pleasure to have fun and be cool in the game, you are spending your own money on your happiness, so why not? This could also certainly aid the development of gaming industry. But if your financial stability doesn’t allow you to do so and yet you are still obsessed with it then it is another story. In person, I would spend some money in game too to “purchase” more fun but it is just some trivial amount I could afford and I ensure I would not go too far. For some professional gamers, it can make sense as they are probably making a living out of it and they have sponsors. I guess it is about how you find the balance in game and in your life. Of course, the game developers also play the role of monetizing them in a more subtle and acceptable ways. Happy gaming everyone!

My Cyberpunk 2077 Hot Takes (Spoilers for first 5ish hours of gameplay)
It was “in development” for 8 years, delayed multiple times in the final release year, and is still so poorly optimized, buggy, janky, and so obviously not fully tested on release that it is so unplayable on consoles that both Sony and Microsoft are offering refunds on digital copies regardless of hours played. And on PC you could have built and updated a desktop just to play only Cyperpunk on as high a setting as possible and you still would have to turn of features to get everything to load in properly. The game needs a full year delay working a standard 40 hour week to be even playable, and that's accounting for the features available as of Dec. 11th 2020 aka launch features. They forced the devs to work 100 hour work weeks just to launch a game that's technically playable in the loosest sense of the phrase.
TLDR: The game in-general needs to be redesigned like the RPG it was initially marketed as instead of a different flavor of near-future Ubi-sandbox. It also should totally embrace the full depth of customization cyberpunk as a genre and transhumanism as an ideology allows and envisions. And bugfixed and optimized, like seriously. There’s also almost no reason for anything to be as remotely bad as it is, if I’m remembering correctly the only “pressure” they had was from “fans” and that’s because they thought Gamers(tm) would be sensible and not send fucking death threats because they thought they had a release date.
This might be a GOG only gripe (or cpu) but that makes it even worse if it is: patching takes literal hours to complete no matter how small the patch is. The only game that might take longer to patch is Baldur’s Gate 3 which is a whole separate fuck-fest but atleast that is early access.
It has less gameplay options than vanilla Skyrim, just in general and in specifics.
Melee combat is clunky as hell and not satisfying.
I think driving is bad, and vehicle combat is god awful with almost no onscreen indicators if your hitting enemies or even correctly aimed at them.
The lifepath opener sucks. It literally ends with a montage of scenes and interactions that should have been playable and greatly added to the dynamic of Jackie and V. It also would have helped established literally every part of gameplay without requiring a literal in-game diegetic tutorial to break the flow of a scene leading into the 2018 gameplay teaser. It also so far only affects dialogue options, no ability increases, no skill increases or passive experience buffs. It doesn’t even effect how V speaks, just what they know prior to meeting Jackie.
Character creation is meh at best. Unless you choose the more techy looking eyes that change everything about the eye, the iris color barely appears to change. Pronouns being tied to voice is a very weird choice, especially when the choices are literally just male or female. Available hair styles are alot right off the bat, especially since you have to remember which numbers you like with no option to preview or change later in anyway aside from apparently forced hair styles hard designed with various head gear, especially apparent on femme V where they grow and fully style their hair on contact with ball caps etc. Tattoo options are generic “nothing or your skin is over 30% tattoos” no pure back or pure limb tattoos. Facial cybernetics are serviceable but there should have also been an option for purely cosmetic body cybernetics. Facial hair is both meh and almost too indepth at the same time. Visually bland but also having too much to customize and compare with each beard selection having seemingly 3 barely different versions and mustaches having essentially every type aside from pencil (i think, i didnt care too much to look at all of them).
In-combat weapon selection is clunky. The lower right icons for unarmed is the exact same as if you were wielding a gun. The only way to know for sure you have only fists is to use the weapon selection wheel and try to get the cursor to show you hovering unarmed even if you have weapons in 2 out of 3 slots. And im fairly certain having no weapon in the first slot breaks hotkey selecting weapons. There have been several times where I pressed 1 to only use fists and it kept my katana or gun out despite them clearly being in the 2 and 3 slots respectively.
Hacking is weird as you need direct line of sight and the game to register you’re actually looking at what you want to hack, meaning you can’t really stealth hack in enclosed areas without almost guaranteeing you’ll be spotted.
Randomized loot doesn’t really make sense, especially when the randomized tier determines if you can install components like scopes, silencers, etc.
Thats all I can remember off of the top of my head as of initial writing.
Now for some praise, but still with some complaints and ideas for improvements.
Gender and sex being separate is a great idea but could have been implemented alot better. Pronouns should have been an actual choice between he/him, she/her, and they/them. In my opinion, voice options should have also been expanded to include masc/fem or masc/fem/”yeah thats a generic ‘X’ voice” for both male-voiced and female-voiced V. Genital selection being both “which do you have?” and “do you go commando?” is just questionable. It should have been genital type as one selection and default underwear as another (maybe some people want schlonged V to wear panties and vagina’d  V to wear men’s boxers or tighty-whities). I personally find the nipple and pubic hair customization almost too much for almost no reason especially since there is no practical way to even be naked to be funny without being one-shot because you have literally zero armor aside from maybe shoes, hats, and face covers.
Tattoos should be broken down into subcategories like limbs (divided into the different parts of each limb/full limb), torso (chest, stomach/full), back (shoulders, mid, lower/full), hands/feet (maybe including fingers/toes) with an extra option to mirror limbs and hands to streamline creation time if the player wants.
Hair should also be broken down between pre-styled, and customizable pieces like top, sides, and back. Hair style should also have custom gradients or full palette selection.
The nail paints were a nice surprise, but again would have been better with color customization (I managed to settle on the one that looked kinda like the demisexual flag, which was nice surprise).
Lifepath selection should have some effect outside of just the occasional dialogue option (so far only on the main story path). At the very least it should offer bonuses to atleast one associated ability (like Nomad offering a +1 to tech and associated skills gaining bonus experience). At the far end it should affect what words or slight accent uses during dialogue and maybe have some NPCs know which lifepath you chose based on that.
Melee combat needs to feel more impactful. From what Ive used so far (katana and fists) the katana barely has any reaction from enemies unless you trigger the passive bleeding skill and fists barely register outside of heavy attacks and guard breaking. Dare I say, Dead fucking Island has more impactful melee combat (probably because it wasn’t seemingly designed as an after-thought outside of skills).
Make it so that once you’ve marked a target you can hack it through walls so you can actually be somewhat stealthy or atleast give you an advantage before combat.
Make the overworld hub-based (like in the 2010s Deus Ex games) but still the same size so that its (theoretically) easier to load while also getting the same amount of detail or even more.
Add seemingly basic things in open world action-adventure games like toggle walking, keybinding, and maybe more than less than a handful of quick-select slots.
Make sure the game actually runs as it ideally should on the platforms you sell it on. Like that really should be step fucking two after can you launch it without causing a fire.
Enemies (and predetermined killable NPCs) should have set gear that is dropped and gear should have set designs for if they can be customized or just sold for money. Iconic gear should probably be better than just “ ’X’ weapon but named”.

Nintendo WIP
Taglist: @nintendo @niantic - @nele3299 - @hoodie-art
Nintendo is a so-called game company, but a game company wouldn't overlook such trivial details that are a huge impact on not only their games but their players. It's almost like they want to make all of their 'fans' or just people who could care less about them themselves and only play certain games not want to come back for any sequels or prequels to their games. It's like they didn't even bother to think about this mess until a bunch of people finally open their mouths about it, but that is a hard task. Even if I get no one's attention I want to make some points that at least everyone in the community can agree on.
Animal Crossing
People have either been playing animal crossing for years or only joined with the recently made New Horizons along with me.  But in the most recent games, there have been a few things that are too blaring to overlook. It's almost like Nintendo wants to watch players suffer, which if the players suffer, the company suffers greatly too.
So the aspect is to have a bunch of villagers on your island and do a bunch of DIY's that look like 5-minute-crafts came up with how to make things. But I digress, for the most part, it does make some logical sense. But when you need to craft over ten packs of fish bait, it gets more than annoying. Or need to craft maybe four or ten chairs or benches or something seasonal. to have a perfect seasonal island for a month before switching it up again. It would be more than lovely to have the option to pick more than one. I know if you mash A a bunch it goes faster but that doesn't exactly make too much of a difference if you're making a bunch of the same item. Not only that but if you're buying maybe 10+ nook miles tickets, let's say you have 40,000 Nook Points,  You can get twenty whole NMT, but pressing A and waiting, doing that twenty or more times depending on how many points you have? It's unbearable and not even finding the villager you want after hopping island to island and waiting hours and mashing A for the amount you want or need.
It shouldn't be hard to program in a counter. You make updates for all the wrong things, I feel.
Like the update to Animal Crossing Pocket Camp, needing a certain camera lens to play a game that actually doesn't require a camera lens like that? Nintendo had an update in November of last year where they cut more than half of their player base. Their phone needed a gyroscope camera, not even phones bought last year could run the game, apparently. I was one of the players affected. I spend actual money on that game. For what? Cosmetics I can't even see anymore? Can't even use? After a month of nothing I had to uninstall, I was told that I should wait but I just didn't have the storage anymore. Sadly. I went back to see the reviews, most people left even if they could still play it because they couldn't play with their friends or couldn't play period.
I want to point out Pokemon Go!
Pokemon Go uses a camera feature for their 3D Pokemon models, which is amazing! But why does that work and yet Pocket camp doesn't? Well, technically Nintendo doesn't own Pokemon Go, Niantic does. Niantic uses different software than Nintendo itself, that and they're two different apps, they were made very differently. But then why does the camera have to be a gyroscope for Pocket Camp and not Pokemon Go? Pokemon GO uses it's AR feature more than Pocket camp! This is true, but the camera feature isn't even needed with Pokemon Go either, it's optional. So then why is Pocket Camp different? Well, Google told app developers that all apps needed to be 64bit by next year. But what does 64bit have to do with a camera lens? The gyroscope lens is implemented in all 64bit phones, that's the difference. Pokemon Go might update soon too but for now, people with a 32bit phone can play it and use its AR features. But I don't know why Nintendo would conform to Google's rules, as Nintendo is its own company and if it's still getting money... Google takes a percentage of money from players as tax for the service, so both Nintendo and Google are taking a hit. I really don't get their thought process here, people are canceling their subscriptions and spending less on their games, people on Reddit and in Google reviews are both saying the same thing.
Oh, but this is where I talk about Pokemon Go now.
Pokemon Go
Pokemon Go is an amazing game that Nintendo can't touch. Until they wormed their way in with Pokemon Go Eevee/Pikachu. Soon you'll be able to transfer Pokemon from go onto your switch games! But... they can't return back to your phone. Here's the thing I want to do, if I have a two-star Pokemon in Pokemon Go and transfer it to make it a three-star with vitamins then I should be able to then send it back into Pokemon Go and dominate. But that's the thing. I can't. We don't even know if they way to make it go two ways or if it'll forever be a one-way transfer only.
I love how Niantic added Jessy and James even though Jessy as a 3d model looks... strange. I wonder if they'll add Butch and Cassidy, since they were also semi-part of the lore, they mainly just competed with Jessy and James. But this is just a thought I wanted out there. I want more diversity, honestly. But it would take a long time to implement, but I think it would be cute to see how it is implemented. It could be an event type deal and I'd still be happy just to even see them.
I want to congratulate them for finally putting in Kalos starters! I've been wanting a FenFen (Fennekin.)
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers
Okay, so I've played Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time and Darkness, and let me tell you the anime for it was amazing too. I wanted more. There was a 3Ds version, hated it. Circles... I gave up and restarted twice and haven't touched it for so long since it just.. wasn't as good as the original. I've been meaning to play Sky but one thing at a time. There has been a lot of people talking about the starters, and boy oh boy I'm on the bandwagon late. I was curious about the personality quiz but seeing everyone say want starter is best with what partner and seeing how everyone said 'Don't be Totodile and Mudkip!' or 'Don't be Eevee and Skitty!' it just made me confused since you... technically couldn't have two of the same type of starters. What in the heck were those people thinking? But that isn't entirely a point. The point is starters. In the switch version of Mystery Dungeon, there are some things I just cannot say. The starter selection of awful. What happened to the Unova starters? You added Cubone but not Riolu? Where did you put my baby shinx?
The starters were pretty meh, they could have added more in my opinion. The screen surely could handle it. Also, the animations for the starters weren't even special or fantastic so it wouldn't have been that hard. I hate the walking animation for Eevee. I picture for Mudkip and Skitty it's not much better.
I've played it for three days and was so disappointed. First off, my partner, an AI? I had to literally kill him for my starter could get back to the same level. Thanks, blast seeds. But if I am being honest in found it to be so funny. Not only that but in said Dungeons, on any floor the boss could just be there and without warning. You could have explored the entire floor and it just appears randomly, or might not even be there. Hate that.
Also, there are no party rooms. I miss the party rooms. The party rooms are rooms that randomly fill up with Pokemon either if you hit a tile for the party room, somehow get the room by being dropped there with or without your partner (and co), or if you enter it from a path. I barely ever get past them but it would be a good experience. Also, you can only have yourself, your partner, and whatever one Pokemon you want with you. In previous games, you could have two addons. What happened to that?
Not to mention that in the story, you suddenly are exiled and after beating two birbs you then fight, Ninetails covers for you and says it isn't you, and then everything is suddenly.. just okay? All fine and dandy? So many people wanted to literally kill you over a rumor. If you died once you would lose 5,000 P and items. Um, excuse you. At the end of the journey, I gathered a little over 5,000 P because I'm a money-hungry person who wants to open all of the camps. But again, I know we'd have to go and find Ninetails and figure out the story but that.. wasn't the way to do it. You get past maybe six dungeons and are hit with that suddenly. I would get it if it was mid-game and they suddenly found out the secret and everyone was like 'you were so nice, what happened?' 'Why was it you?' 'You lied to all of us' and it broke my heart, that just upset me. None of them even let the starter explain, and even if they did the option was literally only dots. Also, why was my partner so supportive? They're just so baby and it's killing me. That's just my take on what they could have improved on.
If you want to add on, add your own, or say anything, feel free below or to message me so we can talk about this more. Thanks for the read, lets hope this gets covered on some youtube channel for 'controversy' or just to be agreed on.
