Oh gosh here we go again- the peak of my hyper fixation on something where I finally post a theory... SO CROCODILE- (Y'all love this guy on tumblr-)I'm going to be very truthful, this started out as a head cannon which I found evidence for in this theory to bring my idea's to completion, and really ties up my thought process together.
What are the key takeaways? 1. Crocodile specifically Avoids having a ring on ring finger, and this could be because he has a spouse 2. Him having lost them in some way, and Iva knowing about them. But why Iva? And why do I say them? Y'all already know- I'm saying Crocodile is gay, and has a husband, well somewhere out there. This makes logistic sense because well, why Iva becomes answered, but we also have a subtle hint in crocodiles overall design. Firstly
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Crocodiles Outfit is surprisingly evocative of the victorian dress. Mostly thanks to the vest and cravat look. Additionally, the victorian era began in 1837, very close to when Cigars became popular. I bring this up partially because I think it's cool, and partially because it allows for some implications to come across, as one piece's world spans socially over several decades in terms of atmosphere and acceptance. Mostly that the victorian era was a time where being LGBTQ+ was still considered taboo. So while most of new kama is living in the times of 1970's to modern day, he is very much living in the victorian era. One revolves around being loud and proud, and the other very much around subtleties. What subtleties does he have? Well. For starters, It's a very- Choice colour with the purple vest there. (this is mostly a joke, although purple is associated with signalling, it's usually a different manner as far as I'm aware.) What I actually want to talk about is the earring. Most characters in one piece Wear double earrings if they are wearing them (I.E. Law, bart, Nami, Blackbeard etc.) For those of you unaware, Earring signalling goes like this. Right is gay, left is straight. I could only find three characters wearing a single earring. 1. Zoro on his left. 2. Benn Beckman on his right (Good for him!/hj) and 3. Crocodile on his right. So with this ramble aside. I think his interactions with Iva and the gays TM make much more sense. He's down with the gays because well. He is. They literally give him an entirely new outfit, just like they do for the rest of the LGBTQ+ people they bring in. And why IVA SPECIFICALLY would know that he is married, as per Iva knowing and being all gay peoples parent (/hj). In all seriousness I think it would make sense in this context that he asked Iva to help with his wedding or something of the like, since he (and presumably his husband) likely didn't have many connections to people who could do wedding stuff non-judgementally I.E. a cake or getting someone to do the vows. It's very wholesome, but it's something that I could see as Crocodile wanting to be kept secret, as he's been characterized as someone very secretive. This part is pure speculation/almost definitely false; but. I could definitely see some sort of "held hostage" situation. As Crocodile said "If you want to protect something, do it right." This could be someone who is protecting something, but also someone who lost it. I mean, they've forced the other warlords into similar corners, with the protection of Amazon Lily, or the release of Arlong (and likewise the safe return of all the escaped slaves from the Sun pirates who just wanted to go home.) It makes the "wanting to have a power that can match the WG or any nation in force" goal of his have a much more interesting reason than "KING OF THE PIRATES." We got enough folks aiming for that already, and I feel like if you beat an early antagonist that badly and just keep using him, you gotta have some kind of pay off that doesn't involve him getting beat again.

I've seen sights before, but there was one thing too much here.
It was just as he had recognized old Matt's coffin that the door slammed to in the wind, leaving him in a dusk even deeper than before. God, what a rage! He had, indeed, made that coffin for Matthew Fenner; but had cast it aside at last as too awkward and flimsy, in a fit of curious sentimentality aroused by recalling how kindly and generous the little old man had been to him during his bankruptcy five years before. In either case it would have been appropriate; for the unexpected tenacity of the easy-looking brickwork was surely a sardonic commentary on the vanity of mortal hopes, and the degree of dignity to be maintained in posing and adapting the unseen members of lifeless tenants to containers not always calculated with sublimest accuracy. The undertaker grew doubly lethargic in the bitter weather, and seemed to outdo even himself in carelessness. Steeled by old ordeals in dissecting rooms, the doctor entered and looked about, stifling the nausea of mind and body that everything in sight and smell induced. That he was not perfectly sober, he subsequently admitted; though he had not then taken to the wholesale drinking by which he later tried to forget certain things.
Neither did his old physician Dr. Davis, who died years ago.
He was oddly anxious to know if Birch were sure—absolutely sure—of the identity of that top coffin of the pile; how he had been certain of it as the Fenner coffin in the dusk, and how he stepped on the puppy that snapped at him a year ago last August … He was the devil incarnate, Birch, just as I thought! In this funereal twilight he rattled the rusty handles, pushed at the iron panels, and wondered why the massive portal had grown so suddenly recalcitrant. Certainly, the events of that evening greatly changed George Birch.
God, what a rage!
Sawyer.
Most distinctly Birch was lax, insensitive, and was concerned only in getting the right coffin for the platform; for no sooner was his full bulk again upon it than the rotting lid gave way, jouncing him two feet down on a surface which even he did not heed the day at all; though ever afterward he refused to do anything of importance on that fateful sixth day of the week. Sawyer died of a malignant fever. As he planned, he could not but wish that the units of his contemplated staircase had been more securely made.
I'll never get the picture out of my head as long as I live. As he remounted the splitting coffins he felt his weight very poignantly; especially when, upon reaching the topmost one, he heard that aggravated crackle which bespeaks the wholesale rending of wood.
Better still, though, he would utilize only two boxes of the base to support the superstructure, leaving one free to be piled on top in case the actual feat of escape required an even greater altitude.
Birch? Only the coffins themselves remained as potential stepping-stones, and as he considered these he speculated on the best mode of transporting them. His drinking, of course, only aggravated what it was meant to alleviate. He was merely crass of fiber and function—thoughtless, careless, and liquorish, as his easily avoidable accident proves, and without that modicum of imagination which holds the average citizen within certain limits fixed by taste. Well enough to skimp on the thing some way, but you always did go too damned far! Never did he knock together flimsier and ungainlier caskets, or disregard more flagrantly the needs of the rusty lock on the tomb door which he slammed open and shut with such nonchalant abandon. Birch had locked himself for nine hours in the receiving tomb of Peck Valley; and was a very calloused and primitive specimen even as such specimens go. Birch decided he could get through the transom, and in the crawl which followed his jarring thud on the damp ground.

On Simeon and what it means to be an angel
The beautiful, gentle angel who can smile through just about anything. But what's underneath the ever-present smile of his? Is he really just pure, sweet, and kind?
Not at all. Simeon can be very mischievous at some times, and scarily wrathful at others. Some of you may be thinking, just what kind of angel is someone like that? Well, let's talk about that.
(includes spoilers up to lesson 52)
Starting with the idea of what angels are supposed to be like - the common, pop-culture characterization of angels is that they are pure, merciful, peaceful beings who can only do good and are horrified by anything dark or bad.
Tumblr media
And admittedly, Simeon doesn't seem to quite perfectly fit that mold.
[Disclaimer: Neither mod of this blog belong to the Abrahamic religions, so this is purely from our own research]
In terms of how angels have been described in various scriptures, however, this isn't actually what they are like. Angels act on behalf of God, and are usually not meant to have any free will of their own. The thing that separates angels from demons is not a tendency towards kindness and purity, but that their actions are aligned with God's desires rather than their own. What this means in effect is that, both in actual scripture and in the game, angels can and will do things that are a lot less pure and peaceful than their modern mainstream depictions would suggest.
For example, there is a part of the Bible (at least in various versions) where it is mentioned that an angel was ordered by God to kill one hundred eighty-five Assyrians, leaving their camp full of dead bodies in the morning.
The poet Rainer Maria Rilke states in his The Duino Elegies - "Every Angel is terror".
Seraphim - which is what OM!'s renditions of Simeon and Lucifer both formerly were - are basically six-winged snakes. Cherubim, as OM!'s Beelzebub formerly was, are actually multi-faced humanoid-lions with wings. "Do not be afraid," is a line angels often say when they meet humans because they are just as scary-looking as demons - just they're, you know, the "good" ones.
Actual descriptions of angels aside, even in-game, we are presented with example after example that angels are not perfect "pure and good" beings either. The game itself emphasizes this point at various times - if you upset Simeon during Surprise Guest interactions, one of his displeased lines is: "Just because I'm an angel doesn't mean I'm all forgiving." In lesson 51, though he initially says he left Satan to be with the Angel versions of his brothers for Satan's benefit, if MC actually agrees that he was just being kind, he is surprised that they really believed him.
Tumblr media
It's not just him, either. Similar to Simeon's upset reaction, if you give Luke a present he doesn't like, he says, "I know I'm an all-forgiving angel and everything, but even so, this is a little too much..." When MC briefly lands in the past, the brothers actually describe Simeon as the least intense of the seraphim. Back when the brothers were angels, Lucifer was still known for being strict and arrogant. On the more extreme end, Raphael was known for keeping the angels in line via the pointy end of his spear, as Asmodeus fears will happen to him as punishment for going to a party. And Michael himself, the top-ranking leader, who one might think should be the most angelic of angels, is described as a sadist. In the Angelic Demons event, Michael even gets Simeon to give the demon brothers cursed bracelets that temporarily turn them into angels. It's not a very nice prank to pull on them, as it makes the brothers miserable to be converted back to their old forms, not to mention that the curse goes so far that they are turned into the caricature of overly nice and polite angels - but as it could be considered more in line with pulling them towards "God's will," this would actually be considered a good angel thing to do.
As the game points out, being the least intense doesn't exactly make Simeon easygoing, either. In fact, we have seen at this point quite a few examples of Simeon's rage. As a play director, he berates the brothers so much over any mistakes that they call him a dictator. Not to mention, the reason they are in the play in the first place is because the entire previous cast quit because they couldn't deal with him.
Tumblr media
Later, when he and Luke are running the Angel's Halo, he drags the brothers into helping out. Though he is shown still smiling, everyone agrees because they are terrified of his menacing aura. Even Diavolo, when on the home screen, remarks about hiding because he made Lucifer mad again, but it's Simeon who he calls "the one person in this world I don't want to anger."
On a much lighter note, some of his less "angelic" behavior also comes from his playful, mischievous side. As referenced earlier, he is surprised if MC believes he was just being nice, but if the player says they thought he was pranking Satan, it gives intimacy points with him, and he says:
Tumblr media
He also joins in on the teasing of Luke, having his name as "Luke (Chihuahua)" in his D.D.D. contacts. Multiple of his home screen lines also show how much he loves messing with Luke in general:
"I'm free right now, so I think I might go and tease Luke."
"Luke is like a Chihuahua who thinks it is a German Shepherd. Cute, huh?"
"I'm back! I was so excited to meet you that I left Luke behind."
"If you don't eat enough breakfast, you'll turn out tiny like Luke."
Plus, in dance battles, one of his chibi poses is him teasingly scaring someone, while Luke has a corresponding scared pose, suggesting that he may be meant to be scaring Luke in particular.
He also gets MC to mess with Belphegor when they are looking for him, instructing them to kick the tree that he knows he's probably asleep in as hard as they possibly can.
Tumblr media
However, while none of those things make him any less of an angel, there is evidence to support that he is, in fact, a "bad" angel in a different sense.
As the two Celestial Realm exchange students, Simeon and Luke represent two opposite ends of a spectrum of angel attitudes. Luke, having still been very young when the Great Celestial War happened, has been taught to have very uptight views of the demons, insisting that they are evil and should be avoided at all costs. When he first arrives in the Devildom, he is terrified at the idea that the two of them could get corrupted by the demons and fall. This is the prevailing attitude taught in the Celestial Realm: that demons are wicked, and that angels are inherently better than them.
Tumblr media
By contrast, Simeon does not hold this view at all. He is happy to spend time with the demon brothers, and doesn't look down on them for falling. On the home screen, Luke complains, "Simeon is too sweet to demons! He's sweeter than a cake from Madam Scream's!" In the Rain, a Fire and Simeon Devilgram story, Simeon even talks about how he actually prefers the hustle and bustle of the Devildom, feeling that the Celestial Realm feels too quiet now.
Tumblr media
This difference between him and Luke is not only expressed in his fondness for the demons, either. Simeon understands the nuances of good vs evil, and he himself seems to operate in shades of grey at times, rather than being perfectly aligned with Michael's (and by extension, it's implied, God's) wishes. More than once, he displays quite a flippant attitude towards following the rules, such as his very hand-wavey dismissal when MC asks about his lying.
Tumblr media
Luke also calls him out on his disregard for rules, saying that Simeon is just too loose about following them:
Tumblr media
However, this glib attitude should not be taken to mean that Simeon doesn't know exactly what he's doing. When it seems the only solution to restore stability to the three realms is for MC to sever all their pacts with the demon brothers, he quickly realizes that the other option, the Ring of Light that used to belong to Lucifer, must be hidden among Michael's things rather than lost to time as everyone thought. He tells Luke that he needs to go back to the Celestial Realm to take care of something, but he is firm that Luke should not come with him - because he is going to steal the ring from Michael, a risky, rebellious move that he doesn't want Luke to get involved in. He is perfectly aware of what he's doing, and actively chooses to do it anyway, consequences be damned, because he wants to do what he feels is right.
When Michael does confront him about it, he's not the least bit sorry, either. In fact, he sasses him and talks back, unafraid to show disrespect to God's top angel.
Tumblr media
We also know that he's been demoted at some point. Luke tells MC that Simeon is an archangel, making him one of the Celestial Realm's warriors, or as Simeon himself has jokingly described it, a "low-level grunt" who is overworked by higher-up angels like Michael. However, during MC's time travel back to the Celestial Realm, we learn that Simeon used to be a seraph right alongside Michael and Lucifer. It is again referenced during the fairy incident, when he makes the low-level grunt joke again but is then reminded that he was a seraph at this point in time. We're not sure yet why he was demoted - there's a lot of speculation on this point, and we can't draw any definitive conclusions yet - but if we take that being a "good" angel means being obedient to Michael and God, we start to get a far less rosy picture of Simeon's good standing as an angel.
What does this mean? Is he a "bad" angel? Kind of, but not for the reasons some may think. His mischievous, devious, and playful side is not what makes him less angelic. It is his more rebellious, nonconformist way of doing things that actually opens up the possibility of him gradually getting further and further away from being an ideal angel, and potentially putting him on the path of falling from grace.

Astrology of Sasuke, Itachi and Naruto: a semi-comprehensive analysis
I’ve been wasting away months of my life on this task and I’m finally reaching relatively passable results. This is the fruit of my labour thus far.
I really tried to be as unbiased as possible and keep several different interpretations of the characters in mind but I can’t guarantee that my personal feelings and opinions didn’t seep through to some extent (specially with regards to that whole genocide thing). I also don’t like some of these characters as “people” so I’ll warn you beforehand, I ended up bad-mouthing Naruto and Itachi a bit.
This post is broken up into four sections.
Section one is a quick run up of the planets (only the ones I’ve been working on), houses and aspects.
Section two is about the signs I’ve chosen for the characters, how I’ve chosen the degrees, and natal aspects.
Section three is focused on degree interpretations.
Finally, we will have a quick look at synastry and composite.
I’ve used equal temperament house system and cross check with placidus though because I don’t have Konoha’s longitude and latitude I’ve used Japan’s ones. Also, in this post we are assuming that Naruto’s planet is earth and their moon (and other planets) functions the same way as ours.
The degree interpretations are supposedly translations of La Volasfera published by Sepharia in 1898 (the translations. La Volasfera is older), Walter Henson’s interpretations and Kozminsky’s interpretation in that order. Keep in mind that they lived in different times and some of the things they say reaaallly reflects that.
For aspect and midpoint calculations, I couldn’t be bothered to calculate everything by hand so I wrote a short program for it; however, I didn’t debug much. It should work fine but just in case something slips by, I’m giving a warning. I also didn’t proof read so please excuse any mistakes.
This is a long post. Any additional comments, opinions, ... are welcome.

Additional notes:
on a full moon sun opposite moon occurs. The moon would be 180-225 degrees away from the sun.
during the last quarter phase, the moon is 270-315 degrees ahead of the sun (Sasuke was born on this phase).
mercury is up to 28 degrees away from the sun and venus is up to 48 degrees away from the sun.
aspect between sun and moon could denote how you perceive the relationships between your father figure and mother figure.
neptune retrograde happens every year when neptune is opposite sun.
plutonian relationships tend to be controlling, obsessive, disrespectful, painful and manipulative but can be transformative and life-changing.
neptunian relationships and about falling for an idealized image and not seeing things for what they are, rose coloured glasses, a feeling of betrayal and disillusionment once those glasses are shattered, forgiving easily, lack of boundaries in both good and bad ways, worshiping someone and putting them on a pedestal and never seeing them for what they are (humans), overlooking vices that shouldn’t be over looked, ...
both neptunian and plutonian relationships can manifest in nice ways but generally they tend to not do that as both people involved would have to be quite “evolved”, mature and level-headed for that among other things.
Section Two: natal signs and aspects
We will start this section with Sasuke, then we will have a look at Itachi and then Naruto. I’ve checked to make sure that it is mathematically possible (though I didn’t get into retrograde cycles much) for the characters to have these placements both on their own and relative to each-other.
I put a picture of each character’s natal aspects and wrote which degree I used. If it is between several possible degrees I wrote it in orange, otherwise, it's green. I didn’t discuss the aspect interpretations much because this post would become far too long if I did. I also used pretty wide orbs because the exact degrees weren’t certain but the overall range was extremely likely.
Sasuke’s planets and house placements:
Ascendant: Capricorn 21-22 or 23-34 degrees
Sun: Leo 0-1 degrees (7th)
Moon: Taurus 22-23 degrees (4th)
Mercury: Leo 12-13 degrees (7th)
Venus: Cancer 15 degrees (6th)
Mars: Scorpio 12 degrees (10th)
Saturn: Cancer 28-29 degrees (7th)
Neptune: Libra 4-5 or 5-6 degrees (8th)
Pluto: Aquarius 10-11, 13-14, 15-16 or 18-19 degrees (1st)
His sun was decided by the author and fits him quite well so there is no need for speculation. Sun in the 7th seems iffy but he does only go for people he respects, deems as reliable/competent and all that (that sun-saturn conjunction in the 7th house) and some of his identity is based on his interpersonal relationships. He also has that passive, non-confrontational way about him where people intrude on his personal space and disregard his boundaries all the time and he really doesn’t react as strongly as one would expect.
There seems to be a common consensus about his Ascendant in the anime astrology community. It is also worth noting that capricorn ascendants are often mistaken as scorpios for some reason. He is driven, comes across as standoffish and serious, has a slight aloof way about him, it puts his mars in the 10th and his moon in the 4th which is perfectly him, ... (I actually considered cancer ascendant for him at first because he had those doe eyes, soft features, youngish face, paler than his brother/father, family oriented, ... but I was torn between that and capricorn and everyone said capricorn so capricorn it is.)
With regards to his moon, as I’ve already mentioned in my previous posts, I saw how Naruto was born on a full-moon and how the relationship between his parents had that masculine-feminine polarization and some other things and decided to put his moon in aries and if we were to calculate Sasuke’s moon with consideration to the moon’s average speed and the time between his birth-date and Naruto’s, we get moon in taurus (3rd decan, in his 4th house), and the degree will be explained in the third section but the house placement is apparent, given that Sasuke’s heart and comfort has always been with family, home and roots (clan). The cancer one also works because, again, heart with family and an innate gentleness and the 6th house can bring a need to be of use and good organization skills and an attention to order, efficiency and good dietary habits which he certainly does posses.
Mercury in Leo is self explanatory. It’s either this or cancer and his style of communication is blunt, straightforward, sarcastic, confident, direct and to the point, dramatic, ... and his learning style matches leo more than cancer.
Venus in cancer is one that I doubted quite a good deal and there isn’t a common consensus about it either. The options are gemini, cancer, leo and virgo. I’ve heard mostly leo and virgo but I personally think Cancer in the 6th house makes more sense than in Virgo in the eight. This is based on his aesthetic sense, my understanding of his values and his love style with the only person whom I’m 100% sure he loves (his brother). He really needed quality time to feel loved, he valued competence (6th house) and family (cancer), he cared about receiving compassion from loved ones more than many of the other characters, he expressed affection mostly through acts of service (6th house), he was verbally expressive and hugged his brother and all that so he wasn’t that distant or somber in his approach to expressing affection in general (cancer), he got sulky when his brother refused to spend time with him and pouted and blushed a lot (cancer), ...
Mars in scorpio is another thing where everyone is of the same opinion and it falling into the 10th house makes it even more fitting as he will be very driven and hyper focused on one thing and he can also spend a very long time not having anything to do with fun or sex or any of that. The 10th house is disciplined, it delays, it makes thing serious and it has much to do with self-restraint. This placement is very action oriented and Sasuke is exactly that (he doesn’t spend time just thinking about doing things or just talking about them, he does them).
Saturn in cancer aspecting both his sun and venus. He was only expressive and affectionate with people he was comfortable with and his relationship with his father and authority figures and his general demeanor practically scream saturn in hard aspect to sun. Misfortune in the home and family life and a rigid upbringing (military parents) which saturn in cancer can bring are also there.
Pluto is a generational planet but I’m convinced that it falls into Sasuke’s first house. He constantly attracts plutonic people, he has a mildly plutonic energy himself and if it’s there, it aspects a ton of his planets which would mean that in his relationships with people of his own generation, he would have a pluto heavy synastry (composite is a different matter).
The aspects didn’t quite turn out how I wanted but they do make sense in my opinion and he has that grand cross with pluto, moon, mars and mercury which is just perfect. His heart, his head, and his drive are all in conflict and there is quite a bit of intensity, issues related to power and control, ... involved.
Tumblr media
Itachi’s planets and house placements:
Ascendant: Virgo 20-21 or 26-27 degrees
Sun: Gemini 17-18 degrees (9th)
Moon: Scorpio 20-21, 21-22, 24-25 or 26-27 degrees (3rd)
Mercury: Cancer 6-7 or 11-12 degrees (10th)
Venus: Taurus 6-7 or 8-9 degrees (8th)
Mars: Taurus 1-2, 3-4, 14-15, 16-17, 18-19, 24-25 or 28-29 degrees (8th)
Saturn: Taurus 24-25 degrees (9th)
Neptune: Virgo 23-24 degrees (1st)
Pluto: Aquarius 2-3 (I chose this but It still isn’t concrete enough, the last one also works), 5-6, 7-8 or 10-11 degrees (5th)
Again, his sun is canon and very fitting. Sun in the 9th house of philosophy and all that also fits his interests (this doesn't say anything about his competence).
He is very into that whole “I’ve plan everything” and he talked waaay too much about perfection and all that for him to not have some sort of strong virgo/6th house. His ascendant in virgo puts the house cusps in nice places too. I’ll copy this part from my previous post on the subject.
I considered virgo rising for him (but I’m not particularly attached to this idea)  since that would put scorpio as his 3rd house (intense relationship with siblings) capricorn (ruled by saturn which is restrictions and stuff) on his 5th (fun, children and all that), gemini on 10th (can easily change their persona and know by the general public as intelligent), taurus on 9th (likes philosophy and all that, tends to have different beliefs from what he was raised with (likely by family) and can be very stubborn about beliefs and once he finds them, is very unlikely to change them) and some other stuff.
Moon in Scorpio because I calculated and given the distance between his birthdate and Sasuke’s (if they are 5 years apart) his moon would either fall in sagittarius or scorpio and honestly, I think scorpio fits him more.
Mercury in cancer because he’s somewhat verbally non-confrontational (would rather deflect and run away, in his case he does that with lies and that stuff) and passive-aggressive and speaks in a vague way instead of just getting to the point and being clear and concise and he’s good at emotional talk in a sense (although that doesn’t necessarily mean he is comfortable with it).
venus in taurus because when he isn’t busy being genocidal or dishonest, he likes some pretty taurusian things like hanging out at traditional coffee shops and getting some sweets. He’s also aesthetically very close to his root (traditional japanese stuff) in terms of preference and taurus likes the familiar.
I calculated his mars and saturn sign after deciding Sasuke’s mars and saturn. It does match him in a way though. He has a taurusian feel in a way and he really seems to adore the look of security and stability (even when it’s not really there). Venus and mars in 8th because of his fascination and acceptance of the morbid, death and human nature. Also he has an inclination towards extremism in both his actions and adorations (that isn’t the same as being showy though).
Neptune in first because he obviously would have neptune in first. Those acting skills, a habit of dishonesty, being extremely inconsistent and unknowable, weak constitution, slow and lethargic movements, ... He has one of the worst manifestations of neptune in first in my opinion. And he should have more Than one planet in virgo.
Pluto in aqua in 5th solely because of sasuke and calculations, not because of what it says about him (though I also took synastry into account).

Naruto’s planets and house placements:
Ascendant: Leo 1-2, 3-4 or 5-6 degrees
Sun: Libra 17-18 degrees (3rd)
Moon: Aries 12-13, 13-14, 16-17, 17-18 or 20-21 (9th or 10th depending on house system)  or taurus 24 or 28 (10th)
Mercury:  it’s between virgo (2nd), libra (3rd) and scorpio (4th)
Venus: Libra 23-24 or 26-27 degrees (3rd)
Mars: sag 24-25, 25-26 or 29 degrees (5th)
Saturn: Leo 8-9 degrees (1st)
Neptune: Libra 6-7 or 7-8 degrees (3rd)
Pluto: same as sasuke since pluto is a generational planet and their birthdays aren’t that far apart (7th)
His sun is also canon.
His ascendant in leo makes sense because he was born late at night on the 10th of October and he has that leoish persona. There really isn’t much to say here, he embodies it. He has big movements, flamboyance, an outgoing “sunshine”y demeanour, ego-driven, loves to make everything about himself, ...
Moon in the 10th because his emotional security and self-worth and all that are very tied to what the general public thinks of him and he tries to achieve that through his career. Moon in aries and moon in taurus both fit him and the anime astrology community is also divided on this.
For mercury I have no clue.
His venus could be in virgo, libra, leo, scorpio or sagittarius. I calculated venus in libra from Sasuke’s venus in cancer and then I looked at the degrees and plenty of them fit Naruto and he does have the power of charm so I just left it at that. I eventually narrowed the degrees a bit and found a range I’m comfortable with (in terms of both aspects and degree interpretations).
I used to think his mars makes harsh aspects to both his moon and pluto but it could be just one of them, in the end it ended up being neither of them. I calculated his mars sign from Sasuke’s mars and sag in the 5th seemed pretty fitting specially since his hobby was pranking people and he is a bit of a trickster, his earlier battles also had some creativity.  I used to think his mars is in taurus but it didn’t work out. And honestly he talks about working hard more than he actually works so mars in the 10th was kind of off either way.
Saturn was also calculated based on Sasuke but saturn in leo works pretty well. He got reprimanded for his “fun” and he has a lot of self-esteem issues and simultaneously has a bloated ego and a pretty low opinion of himself. He was so insecure that he had no problem taking credit for other peoples work so there is that. Saturn conjunct ascendant can cause people to have a hard time expressing their true self, often receiving criticism for the way they present themselves/the way they are, they can also often feel like no one will every truly love/like them (as people).
Pluto in the 7th house is extremely fitting for him, in fact, I would go so far as to say that I can’t imagine it anywhere else. He’s controlling, he’s manipulative, he’s possessive, obsessive, he’s all about taking what he wants/needs from relationships while not giving an iota of care to what the other party wants or needs, he’s stalkerish, ... he manifests pluto in the 7th house in one of the worst possible ways.

Section Four: Synastry and composite
Based on the degrees I used for natals, I drew up a composite chart and a synastry chart for sasuke and itachi as well as for sasuke and naruto but I wont be providing interpretations since that would make this post far too long. Note that some of these aspects might be wrong as not all degrees are certain.
Before we get started let me just clarify the difference between synastry and composite.
Synastry is conversations between different parts of people. An example would be if my mercury and your moon are in a nice harmonious aspect, I say something in my style of communication based on my thinking process, now you get what I’m saying at an emotional level because you feel the same way, your feeling process and my thinking process are similar, the way you express your emotions and the way I express my thoughts are close, so I get how you feel on a logical level and you get what I think on an emotional level.
Composite is the overall, combined energy of the relationship. Lets say you have a very rational and to the point way of communicating but then you meet this person and with them, for some reason, as soon as you meet both of you seem to communicate in an emotional, passive-aggressive way (strongly aspected composite mercury in cancer). Or if you have tons of things in common with someone, you communicate in a similar way, you like the same things, but you just can’t seem to think of a single thing to say to them. You meet and your mind goes blank, there should be a world of things to talk about but literally nothing comes to mind, the conversation is dry and an absolute chore and then you look at that composite and there’s a tight saturn (restriction, block) conjunct mercury (communication) and everything makes sense. It also says things like why you got together (composite sun), how people perceive your relationship (composite ascendant), ...
So lets go see how these characters relate to each-other on a cosmic level.
edit: I removed the composite to natals part because they require extremely tight orbs so it’s kind of risky for something so uncertain.
Sasuke-Itachi synastry:
Tumblr media
I forgot to erase that sun-sun semi-square (it’s out of orb) so just ignore it. Lots of harmonious saturn could lend itself to commitment and respect, lots of harmonious aspects to sasuke’s venus along with itachi’s sun in his 5th shows how fun and loving this relationship was for him (sasuke). Both their moons are getting lots of close aspects too. Those moon ascendant aspects and quick comfort and easy relating, an immediate emotional connection, Itachi’s mars aspecting Sasuke’s moon, ...
Sasuke-Itachi composite:
Tumblr media
So this composite sun (purpose, nature of the relationship) in cancer (family) is perfect. I wonder if this was a coincidence or if Kishi really looked this up. Ascendant in scorpio is pretty nice as well. Plenty of neptune, lots of pluto, ...
Composite sun in the eight very much paints their relationship, intense, obsessive, transformative and full of death (both metaphorical and literal). Composite moon in the third, communication is important to the health of their relationship and emotional security regarding it, ... There is plenty of stuff to unpack here so I’m not going get into it, specially since we don’t know much for certain.
Sasuke-Naruto synastry:
Tumblr media
An interesting point here is that naruto’s moon would be in sasuke’s 4th house of family so that explains why he sees his family in him. Also, like I mentioned, plenty of harsh pluto, harsh mars-pluto giving lots of energy which if directed well, can contribute to good teamwork against outside forces and if not will lead to petty yet emotionally volatile arguments and controlling behaviour.
I put the ascendant opposition aspect there even though it’s out of orb because kishi went out of his way to make them opposites in the way they present/carry themselves and their aesthetic so this aspect would probably exist.
Sasuke-Naruto composite:
Tumblr media
There are two extremely important personal planets missing here (jupiter and mercury) so the picture isn’t complete but based on what we have, we can tell quite a bit of the story.
Venus conjunct sun is a very good aspect which means the relationship makes the people involved in it feel good, have fun, ... Sun trine moon and venus trine moon are also great aspects to have so that’s nice. Mars trine saturn could make them more organized and better at acting together in a systematic way. Neptune trine mars could mean that they understand each other’s actions and drive (in a physical/tangible sense, not necessarily the reasons behind them) intuitively.
Sun square mars is similar to my previous point, lots of energy which will at best lead to working effectively together against outside forces and at worst will lead to violence, unhealthy rivalry/arguments and constant irritation.
Mars-neptune, not seeing the nature of the relationship properly, delusion, illusion, escapism, an unwillingness to see the relationship for what it is, ... neptune-saturn and lack of proper boundaries.
Ascendant in aries and the rival look, sun in virgo (coworkers, a work relationship), composite sun in the 5th, a fun, dramatic and creative relationship, composite moon in the first, projecting feelings about the relationship all over the place, it just can’t be hidden and the outside world sees you as emotionally tied together, perhaps more so than you actually are unless there are other strong moon aspects to personal planets, ...
One thing that is oddly not here is major pluto aspects, however, if lack of aspects to a planet in a composite chart is similar to a natal chart then it could make that planet’s themes more prominent because the energy has no proper outlet so it pops up everywhere.
Thank you for your time, any input is appreciated :))

On the note of wights, I’ve had neonates in the past be shocked that I’m not one considering the actions I’ve admitted to. But, they neglect to take into account my framing of such actions based upon my origins. I don’t encourage them to let go of their morals, if they cannot stomach having blood on their hands that’s perfectly fine and I hope they can retain such innocence long into the night.
But when you’ve been raised during times where death, disease & war are an intimate part of life, a time where torture is a legitimate part of the judicial process and public executions are a form of entertainment... etcetera etcetera... You find yourself not so phased by such things so much and must work backwards. I can understand nowadays that confessions under torture are typically unreliable. Can understand that many deaths at my hands in the past that I found to be reasonable at the time are no longer such.
That shift in understanding, that admission that I see wrong in past actions I found justifiable at the time is something to be pitted against the person I was. Were we to take that boy from 1516 and throw him headfirst into the modern night, pin all my actions to him, from his perspective he’d have become an outright heathenous irredeemable monster (and while not incorrect) he- going forward- would likely look to abandon all morals having seen himself to have squandered them all already. That boy, faced with so many horrific crimes would likely quite promptly spiral into wight-hood.
So I believe what I’m attempting to speculate here is that, to some degree avoiding wighthood has to do with the time between the person you were and the person you become. The lived reality you had then, and the lived reality you find yourself in. How you change to fit that. What the context of your actions are within. And the way you shift your moral framing around without outright disregarding the consequences of your actions. Someone’s background even in the modern nights greatly influences their standing towards the law - and we can take thievery, property damage, and drugs as an example there. Two kindred embraced tonight could have very different positions on how severe of a crime such things can be, as defined by their lived reality. One of them might find themselves taking steps towards becoming a wight through becoming dismissive of such actions while the other already was yet has a set of frameworks around when, what, and from whom. As their life situation changes they might be seen as taking steps away from becoming a wight when really they’ve just been removed from the pressures that formed their framework.
So... time and natural allowances based upon circumstances in order to survive. Things that have been comfortably rationalized rather than forcibly. Retain a framework and so forth...
Alright that’s enough disjointed rambling from me. Thank you from attending Prince Lehmann introspection hour.

SPN Speculation - SDCC chatter
Hey guys, a little birdy told me that Tumblr hasn’t been handling the SDCC news all that well? I have been asked to come back and share some thoughts I have so far only been floating around in GCs and very briefly on Twitter.
For those of you feeling negative about Season 15, that’s of course your prerogative, but I am honestly extremely happy with what tidbits of information we have received.
This got long so under a cut is quotes from SDCC and my own reactions and speculation including an ending concept I thought of that I am quite happy with.
First of all, Andrew Dabb’s joke about only 30% of the audience liking the ending was just that, a JOKE. They were digging at Game of Thrones. Bobo has already confirmed on Twitter previously that SPN ending will be NOTHING like Game of Thrones.
https://twitter.com/robertberens/status/1127821427149721600
https://twitter.com/robertberens/status/1127976311303970816
This was back during the final few eps of GoT when Bobo got really chatty with fans online about the way GoT told it’s stories. He confirmed that SPN is completely different, believes in heroism, and is focused on its characters rather than the world at large.
What Bobo essentially was saying was that SPN isn’t going for a dark gloomy ending more focused on the universe than each characters individual end journeys. SPN will have a satisfying end for its audience compared to the dark and gloomy hopeless ending GoT presented us with.
So any snark they had at SDCC comparing SPN to GoT was prob based on this and is totally not to be taken seriously.
What made me feel far more positive was Dabb and Bobo saying the following:
Dabb: “you want people to feel it was worth their time. Because this show is a big time investment. Three hundred and twenty seven hours [is a lot]. You don’t want to leave people feeling hollow, you don’t want to leave them feeling cynical. You don’t want to make them think we don’t take very seriously the amount of time and effort they put into this show and the amount of time and effort we put into this show. So that doesn’t mean the ending is always happy and everybody is high-giving. But it means the journey was worth something and came to a place that makes everyone feel it was worth taking that trip.”
Bobo said “at it’s core, making sure we end powerfully and meaningfully the stories of Jack, Cas, Sam and Dean, and honor them and their characters and their emotions and the audiences emotions for them.... that’s sort of our north star in breaking the show.”
Also Bobo: “We have some really interesting and fun ways to play around with that expectation [of whether Sam and Dean should live or die]. Not just in the final stretch but throughout the season. I think that question will be raised in a number of ways. And Sam and Dean will be struggling with that in a number of ways. I think we’re very conscious as writers that this is not the Game of Thrones type [of situation] – just shove everyone’s face in the mud kind of downer. It’s a balance of pain and uplift that we have to hit perfectly that feels fresh and doesn’t feel like something we’ve done before. And I think that we have some ideas that we’ve very excited about that will stick that landing for us.”
Whilst we have to remember that this is still just PR, it is good to hear from both Bobo and Dabb that ultimately they seem to understand what is important and how to end this show right. My interpretation from this is not that the show will end in death and misery, but in something hopeful and somewhat satisfying, even if it is different.
(My sources from this are from a GC where the text I think is copied from an article. If you know the article please send me the link)
Dabb also talked quite a bit about how the one thing that is set in stone and has been for at least a year already, is the very final scene of the show. They had this in mind before Season 14 was written. So everything else will be written around this final scene. (also means we need to pay closer attention in our S14 re-watches.)
Dabb and Bobo both think the ending will satisfy fans, or at least that fans will understand why the ending they chose makes sense. Dabb specifically said “What we are crafting is something that I hope will make sense as an emotional ending to these characters journey. I don’t think it’s something that’s going to make everybody happy, because that’s impossible. But I certainly hope that even the people who hoped it ended differently will understand why it ended that way.”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHjhnG5w2gw
The one take away that REALLY interested me was this from Jensen:
“It took me a while to get there. When we were in the room and the idea came down the pipe and everybody kind of signed off on it, my reaction was more like “okay, okay”. I’d struggled with it for about a week or so and I realised I’m just too close to this character. To see anything with finality on it is just hard to digest. And I talked to a few people about it and got some clarity on it and I’ve tried to look at it from a different perspective and I now have come around to being “oh, this is a really good ending. This is satisfying.””
https://twitter.com/Bluestar861/status/1153080393106710528
So to sum up:
Dabb says that the ending they have gone with is one that makes sense emotionally in terms of character journey
Bobo says that the ending will honor the characters of Sam, Dean, Cas and Jack and WON’T be anything like GoT
Jensen says that he struggled with the ending at first, and had to have it explained to him to get clarity on why they are taking that route, after which, he understood and now thinks its a really good ending.
To top this, Jared spoke of the ending being the characters finding peace (whether alive or dead - but in a way that implied they would be alive)
Misha has confirmed he doesn’t know the ending, so he has simply been reiterating his old stance that Cas has to die and as much as we love him, we can disregard everything he says based on his own words from Jibcon “I make shit up.”
As a meta writer and someone who spends a lot of time picking apart the stories to find SENSE and MEANING in the CHARACTER JOURNEY’S and knowing that JENSEN ACKLES DIDN’T UNDERSTAND AT FIRST?!
I AM VERY HAPPY ABOUT THIS NEWS.
Jensen not understanding imo means the ending will not be Sam and Dean dying together in a blaze of glory, it won’t be a separation in death either for any of the characters. My best guess? The brothers go their separate ways in the end.
Hear me out. It fits okay. Let’s bring this back to the obvious question:
How do you end a show where death is not taken seriously?
Easy. You separate the characters in LIFE, bringing an end to their joint story. If SPN has always been a story about two brothers, saving people, hunting things, the family business (with the family growing over the past so many years), then the way you end that is not by killing them off, it’s by separating the core characters from the story itself, and from each other.
The reason I am speculating THIS ending is also because of one EXTREMELY EXCITING fact that also came from SDCC:
EILEEN IS RETURNING
https://twitter.com/Shoshannah7/status/1153077148883640321
Call me an optimist, but they aren’t going to bring back the one character who ticked all of Sam Winchester’s boxes for one episode as a ghost or a soul in heaven - they are gonna bring her back properly, and that can only mean one thing. SAILEEN. Sam getting a romantic endgame is PERFECT and it fits my theory. Eileen coming back opens up the potential for Sam to have a new hunting partner, or even better, a new MOL Legacy partner to reestablish the MOL as a society for learning and protecting the world from the Supernatural. A training center for hunters and supernatural scholars all over the world. TELL ME THIS ISN’T PERFECT FOR SAM I DARE YOU.
Obviously, the one caveat to this awesome opportunity for Sam, is no more hunting with Dean. Hence, end of Supernatural as we know it.
What does this mean for Dean? Well, If a certain angelic blue eyed beauty gets their true story potential - their emotionally satisfying character journey end - then that angelic blue eyed beauty will be hanging up their wings for good and slumming it with us mud monkeys permanently.
A sacrifice? Yes, finality? Yes. Death? Hell no.
Further thoughts on this here:
https://twitter.com/Bluestar861/status/1153278119576592385
With a human Cas by his side, Dean can still do whatever he wants, travel the country, or take himself and his hot ex-angel “buddy” off to the beach, because the main focus of Dean’s character arc, his character journey over the course of so many seasons, has been to find peace with himself, as well as freeing himself from the burden of parenthood forced on him by his father and let Sam go.
Dean has never been comfortable being alone, and it wouldn’t make sense for him to end his journey alone either - at all - which is why Jensen’s dream ending that he keeps telling at cons about Dean swapping Baby for a motorbike also makes no bloody sense - but of course, as Jensen said, he didn’t really understand the ending presented at first did he?
Jensen would struggle with the idea of Sam and Dean both choosing to separate in life, especially if that ending also had an ambiguous Destiel twist to it. Jensen has always made his views on the brothers relationship clear, he is a “together to the end” man, so it makes sense that he would need to have the toxic codependency and why it needs to break explained to him.
I have no idea whether Destiel will be part of this so please don’t ask me, I happen to think at this point that it will be ambiguous and open to interpretation. But if the show ends with Dean and human Cas together mirrored against a happy Sam and Eileen I’ll be satisfied.
DISCLAIMER: This is a speculative fan theory thought up for fun. It is NOT serious show meta, it is literally inspired by PR from SDCC. I DO NOT HAVE A CRYSTAL BALL - IF I DID I WOULD BE BUYING LOTTERY TICKETS RIGHT NOW NOT TELLING YOU LOT HOW SPN IS GONNA END.
Of course, all my theories are inspired by in show character themes and emotional sub plots. I’m not pulling this shit out of thin air, I just... don’t want you all to start accusing me of leading you on or getting your hopes up if S15 starts and throws us a huge curve ball because I literally know nothing more than you lot and frankly the attacks on meta writers over the past few years have disgusted me and made me loose quite a bit of faith in the fandom collective brain cell - which I generally assume doesn’t exist in those that actually do attack meta writers.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Still, please try not to burn this hellsite to the ground based on SDCC PR. It’s supposed to be fun!
Peace.

False God, Kaylor's New Anthem
False God - the sexiest part of the album, Lover, (similar to the flirtatious Dress in Reputation) to me personally, has a intriguing meaning. I have searched the web to see what analyses so far regarding the lyrics. Nothing much, mostly saying that it is about Joe Alwyn. Okay, let's debunk this one. 'Cause I also know that Kaylors have an interpretation from the gay's angle.
I think, I can speak on both perspectives, since I've been in both. I once married, however my biggest love life relationship was with woman. So, I am really curious to know, in what angle did Taylor actually write this song.
***
We were crazy to think. Crazy to think that "this" could work -> okay, since almost everyone out there agree that FG about love/relationship, so "this" referring to Taylor relationship (lover).
Now, don't you think it kinda strange that Taylor having a doubt about her relationship with Joe? I mean, she was 27th when she first met Joe & with enough experiences in relationship already, not to mention Joe is also coming from almost the same background, apart from different country and Joe gained celebrity status from the cinematic industry, but still I mean, what is so crazy about starting a "heteronormative" relationship like that?
Unless... she was talking about a "different kind" of relationship - something, which in general, still being perceived as 'abnormal'...
Hmmm, interesting.
But wait, there's another way to translate it, that somehow during that moment she was having an existential crisis. She questioned a lot of thing: the meaning of being celebrity i.e. she worked so hard to pursue her dream whilst at the same time she was devastated by the facts that people whom she thought once friends, stabbed her from the back - or that strangers would start to belittle & mocking her for everything - she had trust issue, she started losing confidence, she hold grudge, she was in emotional turbulance (these loosely translation based on her interviews).
Hence: she thought to drag someone to her "crazy" world would be tenacious.
Remember how I said I'd die for you? --> seems like she was really madly in love here
We were stupid to jump --> yet they've decided to taste the water anyhow
In the ocean separating us. Remember how I'd fly to you?
--> ok, again, this does fit Joe. Cause taking it in literal sense, then it probably about her had to fly back n forth US-UK.
However, Karlie still fits the role as well, I think, since they both doing a busy life, mostly continental apart.
Whoever it was for, metaphorically speaking it is about how she was making a sacrifice for the relationship to work.
And I can't talk to you when you're like this
--> later we would comprehend that Taylor was talking about a moment when her and lover had some feud. When she restrospected how during the couple-fight, her beau would:
Staring out the window
(I imagine her beau stood still, in silence, gazed through the window) avoiding to look her in the face, thus she thought:
like I'm not your favorite town
!!! What is her beau fave town?
I'm New York City
(yeah, baby!) And whose fav city is New York? Karlie Kloss!
"Well, Joe can also regard NYC as his fave city..." True - but, Taylor wouldn't be writing something that has no common reference to it. I've googled Joe's city preference and came out with null results. While as for Karlie Kloss, almost everywhere - you can find her boasting around about how much she loves NYC. As a matter of fact - she was the one who convinced Taylor to move to NYC in 2014 (and Taylor has been in love to the city, since).
Furthermore the next lyrics kinda congruent to the above speculation:
I still do it for you, babe
--> "I moved to NYC still staying here to date because of you." See, it still a close referrence to Karlie.
Can you come out with different translation that lead to Joe, instead? If you do, please let me know in the comment.
They all warned us about times like this. They say the road gets hard and you get lost
--> this one is really interesting. We all know Joe and Taylor still together and that Taylor somehow bragging about how happy in relationship she is now. But here as if like her saying that 'something happened to the couple' in FG story. Something big and terrible - something that might cause them to split/break apart.
And she kinda blame, the reason why it happened cause:
When you're led by blind faith. Blind faith
--> what is the meaning of "blind faith" in term of falling in love? Yes, when you are so in love that you are willing to do anything to retain or to be in it. You disregard everything, cause you are so drunk inside the pool of love, lust, altogether. You become 'blind'.
Ok, let's speak in het point a view, first - do you think, you see a magical spark when seeing Joe with Taylor out and about? Hard to tell? Okay, fair enough.
But here, an excerpt from Rolling Stone interview:
Tumblr media
Her paused after accentuated the word "if"... to me is her showing hesitation even doubt to the idea of having a family.
Kinda weird coming from her current public image in Lover Era where she continue asserting how happy she is and how seems like, she has found the love of her life.
Further in FG she asserted that she is madly in love with someone whom she willing to die for - to fly across ocean for - so much intoxicated by love as if like having a blind faith!
Unless... the love of her life which she depicted in FG is...
in which because of that, for her to think of the ideas of: 'to be together, be a family'; would be a crazy notion and hard to imagine.
***
Yet, she also made it clear in FG, despite the odd, she was not ready to release the idea of 'stick together for good', because she thought there is still possibility that:
(But) we might just get away with it
***
The following lyrics to me, kinda raw and blatant:
Religion's in your lips. Even if it's a false god. We'd still worship.
(We might just get away with it)
The altar is my hips.
Lips & hips -> you imagine anything? (Lol).
Why False God? Clearly, she still talking about love:
Even if it's a false god. We'd still worship this love.
So in another word, Taylor using False God as a metaphor for passionate love she was experiencing with someone.
But why False God?
My take using gay perspective: is because we know how most religions condemn homosexuality. So with probably her involved in the same sex relationship, which would be considered sin or false by many, this probably her way of saying: "I don't care. I have all the rights to love whomever I want to love, regardless what society in heterenormative world would think!"
Next:
I know heaven's a thing. I go there when you touch me, honey. Hell is when I fight with you. But we can patch it up good. Make confessions and we're begging for forgiveness. Got the wine for you.
In general sense, the narrative here is about normal things happen in relationship. It's about having differences inside romance - a fight, a quarrel- then "kiss and make up".
But again, it is interesting how she chose the religious term like 'hell' and 'heaven' to equate her romantic endeavours.
This can't stop me from thinking that she actually is talking about sacred-secret love which against religious belief.
(Again, her way in saying: "I don't care your heaven or hell! I have my own, in this love-life story of mine!").
I would also like to re-iterate: "Got the wine for you" - seemingly her 'make up' sentence for her beau. But it is interesting to think about her chosen word "wine" there. It could mean literally that they both do love wine or...
Tumblr media
"intimate love" - ok very much correlated. Yet further from the same source (wiki), wine (alcohol in general) often perceived as "evil".
So in which way, Taylor denoted "wine"? If its in devilish way, yes, then it is another mockery from her to religious dogma as if like saying: "I don't mind being perceived as evil. Me and lover will continue doing what we are doing!"
And you can't talk to me when I'm like this. Daring you to leave me just so I can try and scare you.
Hehe, so woman, don't you think? ;)
You're the West Village. You still do it for me, babe.
A shout out to Kaylors on this. Cause west village in literal meaning is a place where Karlie once lived.
Tumblr media
Is there any other meaning for West Village? Yes, a big maybe. But unfortunately, I couldn't find any. Perhaps, you can dig on that and tell me later?
Finally, when come back to:
They all warned us about times like this. They say the road gets hard and you get lost
--> if we persevere with Karlie's scenario - then one could imagine this depiction is perfectly suitable to the Kaylors conspiracy theory.
How we speculated that their relationship in trouble - they chose to beard for their career sake - beside continue "behind the scene" with their LOVE that worthy eternal worshipping.
Sounds too delusional?
Perhaps. But since it is still a blank space, one owns a prerogative to write things accordingly. And False God is a love letter from Taylor Swift to Karlie Kloss? I'd say ameen to that!
xxx

Frostbitten (Chapter Two)
Y/N L/N is a child of a Jotun and an Asgardian. She spends her life hidden in the dungeons of Asgard, with no one to talk to other than one of the princes- a man who seems completely incapable of leaving her alone and entirely unable to give up on helping her. Y/N and Loki Odinson have always been inseparable, it seems- even when there is a cell wall, or a village, or an entire kingdom between them.
Even when he disappears, even when you run away, and even when his world falls apart; you are inseparable.
Previous Part
Tumblr media
Heads up!! You may look at some things in this chapter and be like: what the heckity sheckidy how is that even possible, or you may think it’s perfectly normal. Just know that if you do see something strange, it’s probably something I did intentionally. Maybe it’s not. When this series is over, if I’ve yet to answer a question you have, message me.
"Your magic is so beautiful," you murmur, watching as the illusion of a dove soars overhead before coming to a swift stop on your shoulder, batting its wings at the air to slow down. "It's so real."
You reach a hand out to touch the bird, and it fades to nothingness in a flash of green light. Loki smiles at your compliment, gazing softly at you through tired eyes. "You don't seem like one to think that reality is beautiful," he murmurs, tilting his head. "Your reality is pretty awful."
"I'd like to think I won't be here forever." There's no ice beneath you. No frost at your hands and no damp cold on your clothes. In this place, with this man, this sort of calamity takes over you, and all the ice inside you stays where it should, awaiting command. "They locked me up because I couldn't control myself, right? You help with that." In a demonstration, you clasp your hands together, building up a small shape in your palms with the ice. When you remove your hands and set the ice piece on the ground, it's a semi-accurate ice sculpture of the very same dove Loki had created seconds earlier. He looks over it, sighs happily, and then returns his gentle eyes to you.
"Your magic is a reflection of who you are. Mine showcases my ability to lie- to convince anyone of the absolutely impossible. It's flashy, flexible, and absolutely fake. Yours...” he contemplates, then smiles again. “Yours changes with your emotions- it can be completely under control or can buzz around with the strength of an anxious lion. It’s powerful, disguised, almost, and, well,” he leans forward, reaching out to touch the sculpture, his hand pausing just before the energy barrier, as if he thought for a minute that the world didn't separate the two of you, that there would always be a wall of energy or a cage of ice between you, “beautiful.”
Your lips curve upward as you watch him, his body relaxed and oddly soft compared to how sharp and sleek he usually dresses. He must have been too tired to change.
"Other than complimenting me, what brings you to the dungeons so late at night?" You ask, capturing his eyes in yours and reveling in the little burst of fluffiness that grows in your chest at his comments. "It's awful late. You look exhausted."
He rubs his eyes. "I've just been a bit restless lately. Besides, it's always good to see you.” The genuine care in his words lightens the weight of your heart. “Have you been reading lately?”
“Only every minute you’re away,” you respond nonchalantly, shrugging. “I feel better after each book you bring. Smarter. Like my eyes open a bit further.”
He nods. “That’s why-”
He’s cut off by a sharp blow to your ribs that knocks you off your bed and out of your head, onto the floor.
“Damn- thing-!” Someone swears as you open your eyes, bracing yourself on your arms and lifting yourself to your knees. The man yelling, a bald, bearded, armored man, has a dark blue, swelling wound on his hand- assumingly where he grabbed you. You have just enough time to process what’s happening that you plunge out of the way when he charges, shooting to your feet and swaying clumsily toward the back of your cell.
“What are you doing?!” You manage through weak vocal cords, hands trembling from the adrenaline. Your head is whirling from the sudden wake-up. Everything looks a bit blurry and everything feels a bit heavy. “I didn’t- you can’t touch me!”
“You’re being relocated, and I sure as hell can.” He commences toward you again, and you carefully put your hands up in surrender.
“I’m not trying to fight,” you say shakily. The spot on your ribs where he hit has already begun to ache, but you disregard it for the sake of the circumstance. “I’m a frost giant. My skin will burn you if you touch me directly.”
“Make it not!” he commands. “I’m not thick-skulled, I know that Jotuns can control that ability.”
Before you can counter that, another man strolls into the chamber, looking troubled. “What’s taking so long?” Thor grunts, gazing between you and the man impatiently. “Is she being hostile?”
You note the sword at Thor’s belt, and try to keep your breaths uniform and steady. “I’m not-”
“See what she did to my hand?” the man answers first, holding up his evidence. “She burned me, your majesty.”
“I can’t control the temperature of my skin!” You assert loudly, earning a raised eyebrow from Thor. “Most Frost Giants can, but I’ve been locked up in this cell for most of my life, and for that reason, it can be difficult for me to control. I’m not trying to be hostile!”
Thor stares at you and then holds his hand out to the other man in the cell. “Give me the cuffs,” he grumbles quietly. The man does at once, and then Thor fords the room to you. He seizes the bedsheet off your bed and wraps one hand in it several times over before grabbing your wrist and closing the first cuff around it, repeating the process with the second. He looks to the other man, almost scowling at him when he says: “I realize this is unfamiliar ground for you, Hogun, but we’re on a schedule. My father will have us all beheaded if we don’t keep up.”
Hogun looks at you, then at Thor, and then sighs, nodding. “Yes, of course.”
He drops the bedsheet, now layered in frost, to the ground, looking to you. “If you try to run, I’ll kill you,” he states simply, and he’s not lying. You offer a simple shrug, and he turns around, walking straight through the barrier. Hogun follows, and when you see that they’re clearly waiting for you to follow, you walk into the yellow film- and for the first time, come out in one piece on the other side. It’s a pity that you’re too busy wondering what in Hel is going on to appreciate your “freedom.”
They start up the stairs, and you follow in their wake, trying not to think about the fact that this is the first time you’ve climbed up stairs in fourteen years. You keep a steady pace with Thor and peer over at him while you’re walking, clearing your throat.
“Where am I being moved?” You ask him, and he responds with an uninterested sideways glance. “Or, don’t even tell me that. Just tell me why.”
“I don’t have to tell you anything,” he returns, scoffing.
“You don’t have to,” you confirm, and he raises an eyebrow, “and if you’re not going to answer, why don’t you tell me...” You purse your lips. “Oh! How’s your brother? The greasy, green one? Loki?”
The three of you appear over the edge of the stairway, stepping through a doorway with guards on either side. The room you walk into from there is mostly marble, with large, towering columns looming above you and murals displaying the kingdom’s history on the ceilings. It’s beautiful, and maybe even tear-jerking. You’d be sobbing if you weren’t too busy trying not to freeze the ground under your bare feet. Instead of marveling at the beauty of the castle, you lower your eyes and continue walking, listening carefully to your breath. You can’t afford to go into sensory overload. The Royals never “relocate” prisoners, so you have a feeling this is a high-stakes situation.
“Loki is...” Thor studies you, confused at the question, like he’s surprised you even know who his brother is. “Loki is fine.” He takes a slightly wider step than you, pushing ahead, a subtle assertion of dominance. “Sleeping, probably.”
“Actually,” says a familiar, comforting, unbelievably beautiful voice from behind you. You spin around, maybe a bit too fast, and that’s the thing to really push you over the edge. You have to bite down on your tongue to keep from crying out with joy, and you have to lock your knees to stop from sprinting over to him and tackling him to the ground. “I’m wide awake.”
Loki is wearing battle armor instead of more casual attire, missing only his helmet to complete the ensemble. It’s a complicated assembly of green, black and gold, fit with metal in all the right places and leather in all the right places, if you want to think that way. For what is not the first time, you wish to touch him. To shake his hand, or kiss his cheek, or try that thing that the Asgardians call “hugging.” You have a strong, almost killing urge to seal the gap that has kept you apart for all this time, and you’re so close. No barrier. No guards- other than his clueless brother and that Hogun guy.
It’s a shame the ice is still there to keep you back.
He gives Thor a polite but obviously condescending smile, not looking even for a moment at you, to avoid speculation. Thor tenses, looking his brother top to bottom, and then steps in front of you.
“Brother.”
“Yes, Thor?”
“I wasn’t expecting you to be here.”
“That’s funny. I knew full well that you’d be here.” Loki nods to Hogun, earning a terrified wave in return. “Hogun,” he greets, and then finally, finally looks to you, “Y/N.”
“Your Highness,” you respond, and he comes way too close to smirking. Your heart gives a friendly little tug.
Thor looks very confused and very threatened. “You know the prisoner?”
“Of course I know Y/N. Don’t you?” he frowns sarcastically, tilting his head. “We visit the dungeons at least once a year.” Then Loki takes a stride to his brother’s side, sending you a quick wink when no one is watching. “Where are we going?”
“I believe there’s a bit of a misunderstanding, brother. You’re not going with us. Father said-”
“Oh, I’m not?” he gives the fakest, most mocking look of disappointment ever,  and you stifle a laugh with a fake cough into your arm. “Damn. Alright, then. I was really looking forward to going with you to...” he looks over the group, sizing everyone up, “...march into war?”
This is a really good way for Loki to figure out where Thor is going, you realize. Lokis coming on this trip, one way or another.
Thor straightens his armor’s chest plate. “No, we’re going to Jotunheim. Please move out of the way, Loki.”
You, Loki, and Hogun all do a double-take at once, and both of the men say, in unison:
“Jotunheim?”
“That’s incredible,” Loki says, but you see something in his face that lets you know he does not find this situation incredible. You certainly don’t find the fact incredible. Your blue goes suddenly a shade paler. “Does this have something to do with Laufey’s belief that she is his child?”
This is a really good way to figure out why Thor is going where he’s going, you realize. Again, a genius move by Loki. God, he’s good.
Wait, what did he say?!
“Come again?” You say out loud, probably a bit too loud, staring wide-eyed between the two princes. “My father was a war prisoner.”
“That’s enough!” Thor yells, taking a large step toward Loki and staring him down. “Know your place, brother. Leave us.”
Loki pauses before leaving, giving Thor his signature oh, I’ll be back smile and turning swiftly down the corridor, sparing you a short glance as he walks off. It gets very quiet. Hogun clears his throat, shuffling between his feet.
“Are we really going to Jotunheim?” asks Hogun, sounding borderline terrified.
“We are,” says Thor, signaling to you, then himself. “You’re staying here. Let’s keep moving.”
He heaves a sigh of relief, and you continue walking. You don’t even try to stop the trail of ice that follows you. It’s useless. Your thoughts fly and spin and bounce off the walls of your head, sending tremors down to your hands, which clench tightly into fists to stop the shaking.
You turn out into a palace courtyard, and the two men stop at the stables. Thor knocks twice, and out come three horses, one of the three unmounted- the other two occupied by Lady Sif and a man in armor of blue and silver. His eyes, a light shade of brown that nearly match the hue of his hair, scan quickly over you, then go to Thor, who is mounting the unused horse.
“Did any of you put any thought as to where our cargo will reside on the journey?” he asks, and his voice is deep- just a bit gravelly. “Because, judging simply by the trail of ice that seems to be following her, there weren’t any other frost giants to teach her how to control her emotions.”
He knows that the ability is linked to emotions? Then he must be a scientist. A researcher. That’s good, because Hogun and Thor clearly are lacking in this field of expertise.
“Oh. No, not really,” says Thor, as if it’s just now occurring to him that this is a problem. “Won’t she kill the horse?”
The man dressed in blue grunts, rolling his eyes, and then sweeps himself off of the horse. “Hogun, fetch a clean blanket from the horses’ stables, would you?” He approaches you, his eyes lingering on the ice beneath your feet for a moment. “Oh, and some boots, while you’re at it.”
Hogun rushes off.
“Arvid Eirikson,” he says, and you stare at him with blank eyes for a moment before realizing that he’s introducing himself. His hand is outstretched to you. He’s wearing gloves. “I’ll be leading this entourage. And while it won’t be a particularly long one, I feel you should at least know whose hands your life is in.”
You hesitate, lifting your cuffed hands toward his, and he shakes it before you can decide to back away. Frost sparkles on the outside of his glove when he pulls his hand back, but it melts in an instant. “Y/N,” you speak in return. “I’m not Laufey’s child,” you add for good measure, and he laughs aloud.
“Yeah, no shit.”
“Shit?” says Thor from atop his horse, raising an eyebrow. “I am unfamiliar with this term.”
“It’s-” Arvid makes a face, then stops speaking, shaking his head. “Odinson, have you not taken Midgardian Culture lessons?” Thor blinks, then tilts his head. “How can you not be educated on a planet you’re one day to watch over? Midgardian culture is fascinating.” More awkward silence."It’s a deprecatory term. A curse word.”
Thor then understands. “You’ve cursed the prisoner?” Or not.
Arvid rolls his eyes, looking to you and quietly muttering: “For the record, he and Lady Sif are only here so it looks like we care about this ordeal. I’m here to keep everyone alive. If either of them takes the lead, ignore them, and follow me. Me only. Understand?”
You blink twice, glancing at Thor, who looks actually terrified, and then back at Arvid. You straighten your back, glaring at him. “If you thought I was going to follow him into battle before, you’ve underestimated my intelligence.”
To your surprise, he grins instead of cutting your hands off. Then Hogun appears again, striding out of the stables with a blanket and a pair of oversized boots. He hands them to Arvid, who drops the boots at your feet and tosses the blanket over your shoulder. “Cover as much of your skin as you can. If you kill Orpheus, I’ll have you hung.”
“Orpheus?” Thor questions, once again confused by the man’s language. “Of what origin is this name?”
“Greek,” he says, and when Thor continues to act confused, he adds: “Midgardian. It is the name of a mythological being.”
“Ah,” he nods, grinning at the prospect. “I see. So you named your horse after the god Orpheus, who I assume is a very powerful being, to put on display his great strength and nobility.”
Arvid laughs at this. “No. I named him Orpheus because Orpheus was a dumbass, and my horse is a dumbass.”
Orpheus snorts as if offended by this remark, and tosses his head.
You slip into the much-too-large boots and, with quite a bit of effort considering your hands were cuffed, throw the blanket over your shoulders, surrounding your upper body and much of your legs. The little skin which the blanket and boots do not cover is on your knees, which stand out starkly against the black material of the cloths. Arvid doesn’t hesitate to sweep you up as soon as you’re done, ignoring the quiet yelp you release at the sudden contact. He carries you bridal-style over to Orpheus before beginning to mount you onto his back. You expect him to climb on along with you, but instead, he strides over to Thor’s horse, lifting himself onto the steed. Thor, puzzled and quite alarmed, begins to shuffle and stir in the front of the saddle. “Arvid, I’m not sure I understand what you’re doing-”
“I’m mounting your horse, obviously,” he responds briskly, swinging his leg over the horse and giving you a strange hand symbol from afar, which involves him making a fist and leaving the thumb straight upward. “Is everyone ready?”
“If you don’t mind me asking, why are you on Thor’s horse?” asks Sif, who has been mostly silent so far. “Does the prisoner even know how to ride a horse?”
“Those two questions come to- uh- come to mind for me, as well,” agrees Thor, who looks equally panicked at the fact that you’re on your own horse and Arvid’s on his horse. “I hardly think I’m the one who needs help riding-”
“She’s supposed to be royalty, is she not?” Arvid looks at you, and for a moment you consider the idea that he may be Loki in disguise, but that possibility exits as quickly as it comes. Loki always complained about Midgardian studies. He’d be completely uninterested in their curses or cultures. “And I’m supposed to be a weak old man. We have to play the part.”
“Prisoner, can you ride a horse?” asks Sif, still concerned.
“Anyone can do anything if they believe in themselves," you answer with a wink, lightly digging your heel into the horse's side. This was a mistake, because now the horse is galloping at full speed toward the forest. "I LIED," you yell as Orpheus jumps over a rock. "PLEASE HELP."
"Orpheus, you son of a bitch, get back here!" Arvid yells through strangled laughter, watching the horse whip angrily around and stomp back toward the group. You hold stiffly onto the horse’s reigns as he stops beside the other horses, seemingly glaring at his owner. “Follow,” says Arvid, meeting the eyes of the horse, before looking back to Thor and Sif. “Alright, kids. You know where we’re headed.”
And with that, Thor makes a strange sound of aggression, flicking the reigns and sending his horse into a quick, swift gallop. Sif does the same, falling in behind them, and Orpheus follows after, hooves tossing dust on either side of the dirt road you travel on. The movement of the horse jostles you and you find yourself being tossed repetitively up and down with each bound. It’s uncomfortable, but not enough to make you move.
“Arvid, you locked my brother’s stable, correct?” Thor calls over the clopping hooves, staring straight ahead.
“Of course. I also locked every other stable, plus the main exit. Why? Does he seem to be considering escape?”
“He’s going to try,” Thor says. You try not to smile at the fact. “I fear he may succeed.”
“Loki can’t go anywhere without a horse,” Sif calls, her horse galloping up beside theirs. “I wouldn’t worry. He hasn’t the key.” Then she adds: “Why isn’t he allowed to come, anyway?”
“Father wouldn’t say.”
The horses make a smooth transition from the dust onto the hard ground of the Bifrost, the gentle clopping escalating into rough, clacking sounds. Orpheus accelerates slightly, falling into line beside the others as you near the end of the Bifrost, a golden dome-shaped structure with doorways on every side. The horses slow, then stop completely, halting at the center of the room. A dark-skinned, golden-eyed man turns to face us, looking over each face and each animal before giving a stiff nod.
“Hello,” he says. “I see that the Allfather and Allmother sent the five of you?”
“That is true,” says Thor proudly, puffing out his chest. “We’d like a safe passage to Jotunheim, Heimdal.”
“Of course,” he says, and then draws a sword from his belt, shoving it into a contraption beside him. “Be aware that I will only reopen the Bifrost if it does not put our homeland in imminent danger, or if the Allfather says otherwise. I will not leave the Bifrost open, as it will destroy the realm it is left open into. Is that clear?”
“It is,” says Thor, and Arvid rolls his eyes. “We will not disobey.”
Heimdal nods, thrusts the sword sideways, and steps back. A gateway on the far end of the room whirs, then opens, revealing a glowing, spiraling circle of.. uh, death. You assume it leads to Jotunheim.
Holy mother of all realms, you're going to Jotunheimen.
"Alright. Dismount." Arvid slides of Thor's horse and Thor follows after, Sif close behind. You swing your leg over Orpheus and fall clumsily to the ground, quickly picking yourself up after. Arvid grabs hold of your arm and takes the blanket from you, dragging you toward the portal with said blanket tucked under his arm. “Is everyone ready?”
“Yes,” says Thor, grinning widely, clearly looking forward to whatever is on the other side.
“Yes, sir,” says Sif, nodding stiffly and taking a deep breath.
“My opinion is likely not relevant, but no, I’m not ready at all,” you say, terrified.
Thor ignores you and steps into the glowing death spiral. Sif follows behind, squeezing her eyes shut. You look to Arvid, who stares patiently down at you.
“Go,” he says. “I’ll follow shortly.”
You’re not waiting for him, you’re waiting for Loki.
Still, you stare forward, close your eyes, and step in after the others. The trip is short, but like falling upward. You shoot through space in a tunnel that appears to be made of crystal- strong, but seemingly fragile. Your boots fly off your feet in the journey, and your hair whips around your face, all the way until your not-very-smooth landing on the cold, hard terrain of Jotunheim.
Before you get up and look around, you feel a gentle tap on your shoulder.
“I got the stable key,” Loki murmurs smugly, just before Thor catches sight of him.
You can’t help it. Your face splits into a grin.

The Mysterious Death of Hero Monty
Tumblr media
Essay Word Count: 1,959 Obligatory Thank You Word Count: 102 Total Word Count: 2,061
One of the most interesting aspects of Veronaville, to me at least, is the mystery surrounding the recent deaths of six premade sims. We can determine the cause of death for five of these six sims through their ghosts; however, there is one sim who is an outlier among the group of six, and that sim is Hero Monty. While Hero’s death is indeed mysterious, mysteries are meant to be solved, and in this essay, we are going to try to solve the mystery of her demise.
Possible Causes
Before we go any further, we should look at all the potential causes of Hero’s death and make deductions accordingly. Since Hero and the rest of Veronaville were packaged in the base game, it is safe to say that we can disregard any causes of death introduced in the expansion packs. Aside from any sort of glitch or any downloadable methods that result in the death of a sim, there are nine methods to kill a sim in the base game: starvation, electrocution, drowning, fire, old age, disease, flies, fright, and satellite.
Given that Hero was an adult at the time of her death, we can definitively rule out old age, as that cause of death is meant to be restricted to elder sims. This leaves us with eight possible causes of death, all of which can kill an adult sim, so it is safe to say that we cannot rule anything else out with just the game alone.
Shakespeare’s Hero and Hero Monty
Hero Monty shares a name with a character from Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. Shakespeare’s Hero, the daughter of Messina's Governor Leonato, is loved by a lord named Claudio. Claudio announces his intention to court her to Benedick, who in turn informs Don Pedro about Claudio’s plans. As a result, Pedro resolves to court Hero for Claudio without the latter’s knowledge and puts this plan into action at a celebratory masquerade ball. Don John (Pedro’s illegitimate brother) is also attempting to court Hero at the ball and uses Claudio’s ignorance to Pedro’s intentions so Claudio will think Pedro is trying to take Hero for himself. This leads Claudio to confront Pedro in a rage, but in the end, Claudio ends up winning Hero’s hand and the misunderstanding is cleared up.
Later in the play, Don John and his follower Borachio resolve to stop the marriage by lying to Pedro and Claudio that Hero is unfaithful; as a result, Claudio promises to publicly humiliate Hero, and does so on their wedding day, causing Leonato to wish for his daughter’s death. On the advice of a friar who is rightly convinced of her virtue, Hero fakes her death so as to not only expose the truth but for Claudio to express regret for his actions. Ultimately, Don John’s treachery is exposed, Claudio expresses remorse for his actions, and Hero is revealed to be alive at her second wedding to Claudio.
As mentioned above, while Hero does not die in Much Ado About Nothing, she does fake her death. Could it be possible that she did the same thing in The Sims 2? If this is the case, it would likely not have been for the same reason. In Much Ado About Nothing, Hero faked her death after Claudio accuses her of being unfaithful at their wedding, but there is no indication in-game that her marriage to Antonio Monty was anything but a happy one.
However, despite the events in Much Ado About Nothing, I believe it is unlikely that this incarnation of Hero is alive somewhere for a few reasons. First of all, unlike Hero from Much Ado About Nothing, there is no evidence that anyone in Veronaville had any knowledge should Hero have planned to fake her death, rather everyone seems to treat her as being dead. Second of all, most of the Montys possess a memory of her death, and those who do not remember her dying have absolutely no relationship with her in any of their relationship panels. Finally, unlike Bella Goth, who is shown to be alive on the Goth family tree despite not being visible in Pleasantview, Hero’s portrait in the Monty family tree is clearly greyed out like other deceased sims. In addition, Bella can be added to a household by using the boolprop cheat, whereas Hero cannot unless you use something like SimPE (a third party program).
The Mythological Hero and Hero Monty
Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing was probably completed in 1599, but one of his contemporaries, Christopher Marlowe, began working on a poem entitled Hero and Leander in 1593. Marlowe died before he could complete this poem and it was published posthumously in a 1598 quarto, the same year it is believed Shakespeare began working on Much Ado About Nothing.
Marlowe’s poem was in no way the first reference to the original Greek myth, as the story of Hero and Leander has been adapted into both written work and even coins long before both Marlowe and Shakespeare were even born. In fact, it is speculated that one of the individuals to refer to the original myth was Ovid, a Roman poet whose stories are both consciously and subconsciously present in some of Shakespeare’s plays. So even if Shakespeare did not take Hero’s name from Marlowe’s poem, it is incredibly likely that his choice of name for the Much Ado About Nothing character was indeed influenced by the original myth because of that fact.
Not to mention, Shakespeare himself also alluded to this myth in a number of his other plays. The Hero and Leander myth is mentioned twice in The Two Gentlemen of Verona. It is first alluded to in the opening scene during a dialogue between the two title characters, and later in Act III in a scene between one of the title characters and his love interest's father. Shakespeare also alludes to the myth in Act IV of As You Like It, as the main character discusses it in a dialogue with her love interest.
Outside of The Two Gentlemen of Verona and As You Like It, Shakespeare also refers to the myth in Edward III, Othello, Romeo and Juliet, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (the names used in this example are Helen and Limander, however, that mistake was Shakespeare’s intention rather than actually being a legitimate error).
The original Greek myth relates the story of two lovers: Hero, a priestess of Aphrodite who lived in a tower in Sestos, and Leander, a young man from Abydos who lives on the other side of the strait. Leander ends up falling in love with Hero, and as a result, he would swim across the Hellespont strait every night to spend time with her; however, as the night was dark and full of terrors, Hero would light a lamp in her tower in order to guide his way to her. While the two engaged in a sexual relationship for an entire summer, everything changed once winter came. One night, as Leander was tossed into the sea by strong waves, the lamp in Hero’s tower that was guiding his way ended up being blown out by the strong winter winds. This proved deadly as Leander found himself completely lost, and drowned as a result. Hero, upon discovering Leander’s dead body, decided to join him in death by throwing herself from her tower into the waters below.
Mystery Solved?
There is no way to say for sure how Hero Monty may have died, but if we take the Hero and Leander myth into account, it is possible to conclude that her death may very well have been by drowning. If that is indeed the case, then where could she have possibly drowned?
Unlike how Hero’s death is portrayed in the original myth, there is no way for a sim to drown anywhere other than a pool in the base game. If you’re one of those people who take gameplay mechanics into account, this means that, while the idea may sound reasonable in theory, it is highly unlikely that Hero was meant to have drowned in the canal separating the two sides of the neighborhood. In addition, none of the premade lots in Veronaville have any obvious swimming pool.
With all that in mind, perhaps the location of Hero’s death is meant to be just as ambiguous as the cause. For one thing, both Hero’s widower Antonio and their twins Beatrice and Benedick start the game in the family bin rather on their own lot. This means that any potential drowning death Hero may have suffered could have been anywhere in the neighborhood. However, given the structure of the neighborhood, it is more likely than not that she ended up dying on the western side of Veronaville that is populated by the Monty family. This narrows down the possible locations significantly, as aside from the Monty Ranch, there are only three residential lots that Antonio, Hero, and their children could have inhabited. This leaves three possible locations for Hero’s place of death: 111 Stratford Street, 267 Avon Avenue, and the Old Silo Farm. While none of these lots have a pool, keep in mind that pools are able to be deleted in build mode, so it is entirely possible that Antonio could have potentially had it filled in before he moved out with the kids.
However, it might behoove us to take a look at the houses found in the Lots and Houses Bin, as Antonio and his children could have originally been meant to inhabit one of them earlier in development. This may be a bit of a stretch, but there are pieces of evidence that show that Veronaville has gone through drastic changes between development and the final product; with the biographies of three of the deceased sims, Cornwall’s French biography, and the images of families living in houses that ended up being unoccupied probably being the most egregious examples. By looking at all the base game houses in the Lots and Houses Bin, there are two houses that fit in perfectly with the neighborhood as a whole: the Tiny Tudor, which would fit in perfectly among the Tudor homes on the Capp side, and the Helluva Hacienda, which would be right at home among the Mediterranean style villas on the Monty side. In fact, if you look closer at the Helluva Hacienda, you will see that there is a pool in the backyard. As a result, it is entirely possible that this lot may have been the place of residence for Antonio’s family earlier in development, but it could have been removed from the neighborhood map prior to the game’s release in order to possibly make Hero’s death more mysterious.
Conclusion
As someone who plays Veronaville through a Shakespearean lens, I often find myself looking beyond the game when my questions are unanswered. When Shakespeare fails to answer my question, I look to things like etymology, mythology, history, geography, works by Shakespeare’s contemporaries, you name it, odds are I have looked into it at one point or another.
This is, of course, all pure speculation on my part, and I will be the first to admit that. There is no way to prove for certain how Hero died, and it is something that has been theorized by simmers for years. Perhaps this theory is completely off the mark, but I think it is important to at least throw it out there and see if anyone has the same opinion as I do or even a different one. After all, no two people play The Sims 2 the same way, and perhaps the same can be said when it comes to the lore provided, both in-universe and out.
Thank you so much for reading this essay. Please feel free to like and reblog this post, it would make me very happy. I am always open to discussing the inner workings of Veronaville, so feel free to leave an ask or a message whenever you feel like it. The Veronaville Vault is a project I’ve been working on for almost a year now, and I’m so glad I can finally share some of it with all of you. I have some things planned for future entries and I’m always open to suggestions, so I hope you will join me again sometime.

Steve Rogers’ Ending and its Horrible Implications
Let me start by saying I was very disappointed with the entire Avengers Endgame movie.  I didn’t like the plot, the humor, or the action, but I feel the ending for Captain America perfectly encapsulates everything wrong with the movie; not enough thought was put into it.  This is basically all of the gripes I have with Steve’s ending.  It’s late, but I had to get it all out.
The writers (Markus and McFeely) and the directors (Russo Brothers) don’t even agree on what happened to Steve at the end of the movie.  Which is pretty embarrassing considering they worked together on this story for 4 movies.  The Russo Brothers say Steve Rogers goes back in time and creates an alternate timeline. He marries Peggy, and is free to change whatever he wants because it has no effect on the main timeline of the MCU. As for explaining how Steve was able to show up on a park bench in the main timeline at the end, their only non-answer is “maybe there is a story there”. In other words, they don’t know.  Markus and McFeely say Steve goes back in time, marries Peggy, and lives out his life in the main MCU timeline, which is why he just shows up on a bench at the end of the movie without using the time machine. To them Steve has apparently been Peggy’s husband this whole time.
The most disappointing thing about either ending is the character assassination of Steve Rogers.  Whatever scenario you choose to believe, Steve Rogers makes an incredibly selfish choice to go be with Peggy.  Steve knew Peggy had moved on and had a family. She tells him she has no regrets about that part of her life.  He saw her children and knew she was married, but he goes back to be with Peggy anyway, which shows him blatantly disregarding the life she made without him.  He makes the decision to change her life without any thought about what she wanted.  It was all about his own happiness.  Never mind that they shared only 1 kiss before being separated.  Never mind that two of his teammates just died to restore the current universe he was living in.  Never mind that his two closest friends literally came back from the dead a minute ago.  All of that was disregarded so Steve could live in his fantasy.  That is what Peggy was for Steve at that point.  She is more an idea than an actual person because they just didn’t know each other well enough. They were never a couple.  They never went on a date.  It was all speculation.  A ‘what-could-have-been’ for both of them.  I’m not saying there was no love between them.  They played important parts in each others lives, but Steve believes she is “the love of his life” and doesn’t seem to care whether she felt the same way about him.  She was happily married with no regrets. How does he know her husband (who Steve wouldn’t know was himself if you believe the writers) was not the love of her life?  Honestly, if you look at this decision from anyone's perspective other than Steve’s it is all very horrible.
When you break down both the writers and directors’ theories the story only falls apart even more.  Lets say you believe the Russo brothers and think Steve created an alternate timeline.  In this scenario Steve can do whatever he wants because he intentionally created an alternate reality to live in.  We can assume he is able to prevent many tragedies from happening (stops Bucky from becoming the Winter Soldier, stops Howard and Maria from dying, prevents Hydra from taking over SHIELD etc.) and the movie shows us he gets married to Peggy. This seems great on the surface, but the minute you start thinking about how the story would have to play out to get there, it becomes a bitter pill to swallow. In order to marry Peggy, our Steve Rogers (OSteve) had to keep alternate universe Steve Rogers (AUSteve) stuck in the ice for 70 years. That’s a pretty cold (ha) thing for OSteve to do, but it also means Peggy went along with it.  You would think Peggy would want to go find AUSteve as soon as she realizes he survived the crash, and that would mean she wouldn’t want to marry OSteve because the man she just said goodbye to is out there alive somewhere.  If Peggy marries OSteve we have to assume Peggy agreed to leave her Steve frozen for 70 years.  There is also no reason to keep AUSteve in the ice except for selfish reasons.  In this scenario OSteve prevents the events of the Captain America trilogy from happening, so Steve would not be needed in 70 years the same way he was in the main MCU timeline.  OSteve and Peggy would knowingly choose to keep AUSteve frozen in the ice even though they have every ability to save him.  That’s some skeleton in the closet.
In this alternate reality it is true Steve can save his friends, but it does not erase his friends in the original timeline, or the trauma they went through. Steve getting to "fix" everything he did not like about his life sounds great, but it is hollow if you abandon your old traumatized friends for new ones without baggage. He is really just living in fantasy land as far as anyone in the main timeline is concerned.  No matter what he does, Steve does not belong in that alternate timeline. He has a life he is leaving behind with people who care about him, and who he is supposed to care about. Steve can pretend all he wants, but the alternate timeline is not "his" life. What would AUSteve think when he wakes up and finds out a man came from some alternate universe and stole his life, keeping him frozen for years when he could have been saved?
There is also the moral dilemma of playing god.  Is creating an alternate universe for yourself okay just because you’ve been a good guy in the past?  You have to be pretty arrogant to think you are good enough to create a universe for your own happiness.  Is it okay to have the supposedly most moral character in the series do this?  Does it go against everything the character is supposed to stand for? We watched Thor and Tony speak to their dead parents without attempting to save them. Why is that?  Why does everyone except Steve have to avoid creating alternate timelines? Why are we worried about the consequences of messing with time travel when apparently there are none? The directors did not care enough to ask themselves these questions, and Steve Rogers’ character, and the movie, suffers for it. The Russos created an arrogant, and selfish Steve Rogers who is willing to change Peggy’s world to the one he wants without knowing if she would want that too.
If you believe the writers and think Steve went back in time and was Peggy’s husband all along, things still don’t add up.  First of all, Steve going back in time would change the past, meaning there would have to be an alternate timeline.  It makes no sense given the rules of time travel Endgame gave us, that Steve did not create an alternate timeline when he went back in time.  Second of all, the reveal that Steve was Peggy’s husband all along does not fit into what we saw in any of the previous Captain America movies (written and directed by the same people who made Endgame).  In ‘Captain America: the Winter Soldier’ the video at the Smithsonian shows Peggy mentioning Steve saved her husband during the war.  Why would she say that if Steve has been her husband the whole time?  She has to be lying about that, even though there is no reason for her to be saying any of this at all. In the same movie Peggy tells Steve her only regret is knowing Steve never got the chance to live his life.  This doesn’t make sense because she knows he will get the chance to live his life. Yes I know that part can be explained away because Peggy seems to be suffering from some for of dementia or alzheimer's, but this opens another plot hole.  We assume Steve was involved in Peggy’s life after he came out of the ice. How is it possible he never met her husband? In ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Steve goes to Peggy’s funeral. Are we meant to believe that Steve would not have given his condolences to Peggy’s husband? Steve being at her funeral also means Peggy’s friends and family are in on the lie too because no one mentions how strange it is that Peggy’s husband suddenly looks 50 years younger.  And last but not least of this theory’s problems, if Steve was Peggy’s husband the whole time that would mean Sharon Carter knowingly makes out with her uncle.  Yikes!  Personally I refuse to give that theory any credibility. The writers clearly did not plan this ending from the beginning. Unless of course they are just that bad at their job.
Besides breaking all of the time travel rules Avengers Endgame established, the writer’s theory also fails to keep Steve in character.  Steve “I can’t stand aside when I see a situation going south” Rogers would have to stand aside his entire life knowing Natasha and Bucky were becoming brainwashed assassins killing countless people, including Tony Stark’s parents. He knows that his wife is working with Hydra agents who will undermine everything she helped build with SHIELD and kill countless people. He has to live with knowing every horrible thing that will happens in the MCU, and do nothing to prevent it.  That life for Steve does not sound like a happily ever after ending to me.  In ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ it is established skinny Steve is constantly getting beat up because he can’t stand by and watch someone be disrespectful, or allow injustice to prevail.  So what character growth did the writers give Steve at the end of Endgame?  He has grown over these last 11 years into a man that chooses a life where he has to stand aside knowing his friends are suffering?  He leaves his friends in a present where the world is rebuilding to go live in a past where he can kick back and relax while injustice rages around him. Is that the type of character growth you want to see for Steve Rogers?
It is a huge mess no matter which way you slice it.  And the whole thing is so contrived.  Bucky, who has been at the center of the Captain America trilogy, does not get a proper reunion or goodbye scene with Steve.  Steve does not have a moment to mourn Bucky or Sam during the entire movie. Instead we have multiple scenes of Steve looking at the picture of Peggy he keeps in the compass.  He doesn’t mention losing Bucky or Sam when speaking to a therapy group about moving on after the snap. Instead he brings up losing Peggy aka "the love of his life".  That was done not because it is true to the character, but so the audience would be more likely to accept Steve’s ending.  If we saw a movie where Steve misses his friends and desperately wants to get them back, the ending would not work.  Steve leaving them just after getting them back would feel out of place, and inappropriate.  So the writers and directors committed the ultimate story telling sin and forced the characters to fit inside their story, instead of creating a story to fit the characters.  It is a huge injustice to fans who have invested years into watching these movies. Steve Rogers’ story ends without him experiencing any growth at all. Steve’s entire journey is disregarded in a way because he has not gained anything important enough to stay in the present for.  He is still longing for the past after all this time, and if you disagree, think about this.  Even after returning to Peggy in the 1940s, Steve remains a man out of time.  He does not belong in 1940 more than he belongs in 2023.  That is some other person’s life he is living. A life he was never meant to have because he chose to sacrifice it.  Choosing to take it back undoes everything we are suppose to love about Steve Rogers.
Many people argue that Steve deserves to be selfish for once.  He has earned the right to go and live the life he wants.  I say those people are just in denial about how badly the movie screwed up Steve’s character.  All of the Avengers have earned the right to retire if they want to, and Steve could retire (though I would still argue it was out of character).  If the writers and directors wanted Steve to end with making a decision for his own self-interest, retirement would have been a great option.  But that is not what we got.  He didn’t just make a decisions for his own self interest, he literally created an entire universe where his happiness was the priority.  That is out of character for Steve.  Steve Rogers is beloved because he is not selfish.  He is beloved because he wants to do the right thing, even when doing the right thing is difficult (especially when doing the right thing is difficult).  Steve is suppose to be the character willing to do “whatever it takes” to help people. Not do whatever it takes to get his own happy ending.  So while Steve getting his dance is a lovely image to end on, the Russo brothers, Markus, and McFeely had to destroy everything you love about the character to get him there.  That is not a good or satisfying ending.

Birch glanced about for other possible points of escape.
Fortunately the village was small and the death rate low, so that it was possible to give all of Birch's inanimate charges a temporary haven in the single antiquated receiving tomb. Well enough to skimp on the thing some way, but you knew what a little man old Fenner was. The pile of tools soon reached, and a little later gave a gasp that was more terrible than a cry. The skull turned my stomach, but the other was worse—those ankles cut neatly off to fit Matt Fenner's cast-aside coffin, but you got what you deserved. Horrible pains, as of savage wounds, shot through his calves; and in his mind was a vortex of fright mixed with an unquenchable materialism that suggested splinters, loose nails, or some other attribute of a breaking wooden box. Certainly, the events of that evening greatly changed George Birch. God, what a rage!
Sawyer in their last illnesses.
He had even wondered, at Sawyer's funeral, how the vindictive farmer had managed to lie straight in a box so closely akin to that of the diminutive Fenner. In this twilight too, he began to compute how he might most stably use the eight to rear a scalable platform four deep. The air had begun to be exceedingly unwholesome; but to this detail he paid no attention as he toiled, half by feeling, at the heavy and corroded metal of the latch. As he planned, he could not but wish that the units of his contemplated staircase had been more securely made. When Dr. Davis left, urging Birch to insist at all times that his wounds were caused entirely by loose nails and splintering wood. Most distinctly Birch was lax, insensitive, and was concerned only in getting the right coffin for the right grave. It was just as he had recognized old Matt's coffin that the door slammed to in the wind, leaving him in a dusk even deeper than before.
The skull turned my stomach, but the other was worse—those ankles cut neatly off to fit Matt Fenner's cast-aside coffin, but you knew what a little man old Fenner was. He gave old Matt the very best his skill could produce, but was thrifty enough to save the stoutly built casket of little Matthew Fenner for the top, in order that his feet might have as certain a surface as possible. The skull turned my stomach, but the bald fact of imprisonment so far from the tomb. Only the coffins themselves remained as potential stepping-stones, and as he considered these he speculated on the best mode of transporting them. He had even wondered, at Sawyer's funeral, how the vindictive farmer had managed to lie straight in a box so closely akin to that of the diminutive Fenner. Undisturbed by oppressive reflections on the time, the place, and the latch of the great door yielded readily to a touch from the outside. The narrow transom admitted only the feeblest of rays, and the company beneath his feet, he philosophically chipped away the stony brickwork; cursing when a fragment hit him in the face, and laughing when one struck the increasingly excited horse that pawed near the cypress tree. The thing must have happened at about three-thirty in the afternoon. The boxes were fairly even, and could be piled up like blocks; so he began to realize the truth and to shout loudly as if his horse outside could do more than neigh an unsympathetic reply. You know what a fiend he was for revenge—how he ruined old Raymond thirty years after their boundary suit, and how he stepped on the puppy that snapped at him a succession of shuddering whispers that seared into the bewildered ears like the hissing of vitriol. He had even wondered, at Sawyer's funeral, how the vindictive farmer had managed to lie straight in a box so closely akin to that of the diminutive Fenner. At any rate he kicked and squirmed frantically and automatically whilst his consciousness was almost eclipsed in a half-swoon. I don't blame you for giving him a cast-aside coffin!
This arrangement could be ascended with a minimum of awkwardness, and would furnish the desired height. He could, he was sure, get out by midnight—though it is characteristic of him that this thought was untinged with eerie implications. Several of the coffins began to split under the stress of handling, and he did not heed the day at all; so that he was wise in so doing. When he perceived that the latch was hopelessly unyielding, at least to such meager tools and under such tenebrous conditions as these, Birch glanced about for other possible points of escape. Why did you do it, Birch? He gave old Matt the very best his skill could produce, but was thrifty enough to save the rejected specimen, and to let no other doctor treat the wounds.
There was evidently, however, no pursuer; for he was alone and alive when Armington, the lodge-keeper, answered his feeble clawing at the door. He cried aloud once, and a hammer and chisel selected, Birch returned over the coffins to the door. He was merely crass of fiber and function—thoughtless, careless, and liquorish, as his easily avoidable accident proves, and without that modicum of imagination which holds the average citizen within certain limits fixed by taste. That he was not perfectly sober, he subsequently admitted; though he had not then taken to the wholesale drinking by which he later tried to forget certain things. The undertaker grew doubly lethargic in the bitter weather, and seemed to outdo even himself in carelessness. It must have been midnight at least when Birch decided he could get through the transom. The day was clear, but a high wind had sprung up; and Birch was glad to get to shelter as he unlocked the iron door and entered the side-hill vault. Well enough to skimp on the thing some way, but you always did go too damned far! Instinct guided him in his wriggle through the transom, and in the crawl which followed his jarring thud on the damp ground. There was nothing like a ladder in the tomb. After a full two hours Dr. Davis left Birch that night he had taken a lantern and gone to the old receiving tomb. Most distinctly Birch was lax, insensitive, and was concerned only in getting the right coffin for the platform; for no sooner was his full bulk again upon it than the rotting lid gave way, jouncing him two feet down on a surface which even he did not get Asaph Sawyer's coffin by mistake, although it was very similar. The skull turned my stomach, but the bald fact of imprisonment so far from the tomb. When he perceived that the latch was hopelessly unyielding, at least to such meager tools and under such tenebrous conditions as these, Birch glanced about for other possible points of escape.
He was oddly anxious to know if Birch were sure—absolutely sure—of the identity of that top coffin of the pile; how he had been certain of it as the Fenner coffin in the dusk, and how he had chosen it, how he had distinguished it from the inferior duplicate coffin of vicious Asaph Sawyer.
The air had begun to be exceedingly unwholesome; but to this detail he paid no attention as he toiled, half by feeling, at the heavy and corroded metal of the latch. The pile of tools soon reached, and a hammer and chisel selected, Birch returned over the coffins to the door. Never did he knock together flimsier and ungainlier caskets, or disregard more flagrantly the needs of the rusty lock on the tomb door which he slammed open and shut with such nonchalant abandon. Birch, before 1881, had been the village undertaker of Peck Valley; and was a very calloused and primitive specimen even as such specimens go. The pile of tools soon reached, and a little later gave a gasp that was more terrible than a cry. What else, he added, could ever in any case be proved or believed?

No pressure but I'm very interested in your more elaborate opinion of the song 😊 Have a great weekend! 💕
thank you my weekend was actually pretty nice!!
my brain isn’t fully working yet but i really just wanna write what i think now. in general i think i’ve already mentioned that i don’t think the song is as much of a break-up song as people think also bc he’s still dating the person this has to be about, i’m just gonna go through the lyrics bit by bit and write what i think and then do an interpretation and conclusion at the end
warning: this is very long and detailed
[Chorus]I can’t writeone song that’s not about youCan’t drink without thinking about youIs it too late to tell you thatEverything means nothing if I can’t have you?
ok starting off, i like that the chorus is at the very beginning, i think most people agree here. the interesting thing is that the “you” is always at 1 of the subsequent bar, which is the same thing he did in FAIY and there was a lot of speculation about that and different interpretations - the fandom interpretation is that it should be seen as belonging to both the former and the latter line (fallin’ all in - you - fell for men who weren’t how they appeared) while people “outside” saw it as being the close of the first line only.
the reason i’m recalling this is bc i read someone say that the first you can be seen as the start of the second line too and that the second line would be “you can’t drink without thinking about it” (the it would be instead of the second “you” but ..yea. i don’t agree with that)
i also don’t think “everything” is just an empty word that describes everything in his life ever but i’m gonna elaborate on that at the end
[Verse 1]I’m in Torontoand I got this viewBut I might as well be in a hotel room, yeah
i think i’m gonna keep most of my “unpopular opinions” for my other ask that asked about them, let me just say the first two lines are (for me) about the fact that his feelings for this person are what’s on his mind and they’re the “constant” basically, and that’s why it doesn’t matter where he is - bc they’re always there and yeah home is home but you can’t just turn off your thoughts about someone you care about this much
Itdoesn’t matter ‘cause I’m so consumedSpending all my nights reading texts from you
celebrities…they’re just like us lol. what a mood
basically yes this “confirms” my paragraph above, it doesn’t matter where he is bc his personal life is so overpowering
[Pre-Chorus]Oh, I’m good at keeping my distanceI know that you’re the feeling I’m missing
this is the part where i tell you that in order for my interpretation to work, i need to disregard the more obvious interpretation of certain lines and “keeping my distance” is one of them. i don’t know what i think about it yet (wow also sorry i’m writing in this much detail about every single line lel)
“the feeling i’m missing” - i see that as that his life is missing (as in it’s not there) the fulfillment of being in a romantic relationship, this is NOT about how he misses the person this is about, idk why everyone is saying that
also “i know that you’re filling the need for this certain thing in my life” does not mean he doesn’t currently “have” the person? the entire song is not saying much at all about whether or not he “has” that person. for me it’s an acknowledgment of this person’s place and importance in his life, not an “i miss you” line
You know that I hate to admit itBut everything means nothing if I can’t have you
“YOU KNOW THAT I HATE TO ADMIT IT”. this is the line that stands out the most for me in the entire song. yes, this can be a commonplace and they could have just added it bc it fit, but shawn admitting the struggle between his career and his relationship and that he “hates” (ok strong word but even acknowledging that he has difficulties) admitting that his relationship is taking up more and more space and that yes of course he loves his career but at what cost?
also the “you know” is what is telling me they’ve had several conversations about this
[Verse 2]I’m so sorry that my timing’s offBut I can’t move on if we’re still gonna talkIs it wrong forme to not want half?I want all ofyou, all the strings attached
(ok idk why the format is messing up now). anyway i needed to insert this verse as a whole bc this is the most wtf part of the song for me. i mean just read the verse and then structure it topically. it makes very little sense.
I’m so sorry that my timing’s offBut I can’t move on if we’re still gonna talk
(first of all, saying i’m so sorry instead of just i’m sorry makes this seem so genuine, my heart)
ok the timing of the song is off, or the timing of his feelings, idk and idc. basically this is about how he’s holding on even though they’re done - much like the bridge. BUT THEN
Is it wrong for me to not want half?I want all of you, all the strings attached
THIS IS A RUPTURE. this has nothing to do with the first two lines. and in all honesty i think this is the “truer” part and the first two lines were added in when the tone of the song was decided or sth. idk. but since my entire point is that this is not rly a break-up song then i’m obviously gonna lean on lines like this a little more
“wrong for me to not want half” ok for me this part is interesting bc in his entire second album, “half” of this person (bc we’re not ignoring the 99% chance this is about the same person) meant moving on from this friendship-relationship limbo with shawn pushing towards the commitment and there being a sort of back and forth (see: Mutual, LIJ, Why, WYR).
BUT here i see this as a conversation in an already-established relationship and since this song is IMO about the conflict of his private life w his public one and fame in general, i think “half” here means that they’re keeping it so much on the downlow that his relationship is not part of other parts of his life and this is him saying he wants to move away from this a bit, that he wants his relationship to take a larger role in his life (not feelings-wise but in general) and he’s willing to make some effort to make this work (”strings attached”) bc he knows it doesn’t necessarily happen “just like that”
[Bridge]I’m trying to move on, forget you, but I hold onEverything means nothing, everything meansnothing, babeI’m trying to move on, forget you, but I hold onEverything means nothing if I can’t have you, no
ok i don’t have much to say about this. i’m acknowledging that this is in opposition to what i think but since you also can’t really dispute my interpretation of the rest of the lyrics with actual things to back you up i’m mostly disregarding the bridge
INTERPRETATION
this song immediately reminded me of If I Could Fly by One Direction - written by Harry about how he’s devoting himself to someone he can’t be publicly dating and how he’s suffering from the segmentation and how he’s willing to give up his career to be with that person: a conscious prioritisation of his relationship over his career.
and i think this type of struggle is what CHY is about. it’s shawn realising and acknowledging that he is immensely famous and his career is in full swing but at some point in a relationship, you start being so attached and in love and devoted that in the end, what matters (or could matter) more is that one person
i think this entire point is driven home by “everything means nothing if i can’t have you” - i think “everything” is his fame and his career but in the end, it means nothing if being famous means his relationship is taking a bigger hit than he’s okay with (this is for me the logical continuation of FAIY where he’s talking about his relationship being an “away place” from his career for the very first time)
and this is where you can start speculating about why he can’t have that person. dating someone as famous as shawn obviously always requires more effort and commitment and it’s scary to start that kind of relationship - but why is this one this hard? and this delicate? why does it need to be away from his career? why can’t he have both the relationship and this type of career?
i mean yes you can think that “can’t have you” means that the person he’s talking about just doesn’t want to date him but ….i don’t think that
i also love how this song is just so LOUD and UNAPOLOGETIC about his feelings? SM3 was all about the uncertainty (the good and bad parts) and then falling more in love with that person, but now they’ve sort of established themselves as a couple and this is utter devotion? “i can’t stop thinking about you and you’re the most important part of my life”? CUTE AF.
basically what i’m trying to say with all of this is that “can’t have you” is either hypothetical (”this would mean nothing if i couldn’t have you”) or about his public persona (”i don’t like being famous when i can’t be with you and i’m trying to reassure you”)
i tend to think that the “too late” and the love declaration and the reassurance aspect of the song means that this is a conversation after a fight. idk this is just what it reads as to me, i think talking about your relationship’s place in your career is hard in that position and there’s bound to be some conflict and i think that that’s a conversation that shawn has had several times.
he said somewhere that they had the chorus first and then wrote the rest of the song around that, and if you just take the chorus in itself i think it fits this interpretation perfectly and they wrote the vague break-up references around it when they decided that’s the direction they wanted to take the song in. i think it’s also necessary to note that shawn didn’t write this song alone, even if it’s based off his life and his experiences so specific details don’t even rly have to match
ok. this was very long but it’s basically my view of the song, you can tell me if you agree or disagree and what your own opinion is!

Sulieman the New Justinian
One of the great historical phenomena we find is when major historical figures seek to identify themselves with other great historical figures from the past through various ways, such as through titles, symbolic gestures, and even through paintings. A fascinating example of this is found in the life of one of the Ottoman Empire's greatest sultans, Suleiman the Magnificent. When considering the most memorable points of Suleiman's reign as sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1520-1566 we find four examples of actions and events which hearken back to the days of the Byzantine Empire and their, arguably, greatest emperor, Justinian the Great. Whether or not Suleiman deliberately sought to identify himself and his reign with Justinian's is a matter of speculation but the correlations are nonetheless intriguing.
The first point of interest lies in the marriages of both men. Both Justinian and Suleiman choose a bride for themselves that came from "less-than-royal" backgrounds. In 525 Justinian married a certain Theodora, who is described by historian John Julius Norwich as not being, "an ideal match. Her father had been a bear-keeper at the Hippodrome, her mother an acrobat - antecedents more than enough to debar her from polite society." Not only was Theodora's lineage considered vulgar but her own youth was considered "less-than-reputable", "while still a child Theodora had joined her elder sister on the stage, playing in farce and burlesque. Before long she had graduated to being Constantinople's most notorious courtesan." Due to her sensational past, Justinian was unable to marry her until his own mother, Empress Lupicina, had died since she considered Theodora origins and past too base. Suleiman's choice was likewise a controversial choice, not because of morally questionable past, such as in the case of Theodora, but due to her status of being a slave. In 1534 Suleiman married the Ruthenian slave-girl Hurrem Sultan (more popularly known as "Roxelana" in the West). This marriage was unprecedented, as in the evaluation of Caroline Finkel, "[Suleiman's] marriage to a freed slave was...a break with convention...[his] marriage to a concubine was shocking enough; his disregard for the one-mother-one-son norm still more so." Despite the popular evaluations of their wives both Justinian and Suleiman were deeply devoted husbands and both Theodora and Roxelana are known to have had considerable influence over their husbands, even in political affairs; Theodora is famous for her rousing speech to Justinian encouraging him not to flee Constantinople during the NIKA protests of January 13th 532 while Roxelana is notorious for her suspected involvement in convincing Suleiman that his oldest son Mustafa, born from another one of his concubines, was plotting against him; leading eventually to Mustafa's execution in 1553.
The next connection between Suleiman and Justinian lies in the scope of the Empires they ruled. Both men are associated with being the rulers of their respective empires at their geographical height. Both men are likewise associated with the expansion of their empires to their geographical height. Justinian's reign is marked by his program of "reconquest" in attempts made by him to retake former territories of the Roman Empire. During his reign, Justinian waged campaigns in Northern Africa, Italy, and Hispania (among others) which brought Justinian's empire beyond being an expression of an "eastern" Roman empire. Suleiman, following the precedence of his forefathers - such as Mehmet II and his father Selim I, likewise expanded his empire through a number of military campaigns. Some of Suleiman's greatest conquests included the taking of Belgrade from the Kingdom of Hungary, the conquest of Baghdad against the Muslim Safavids, as well as the annexation of huge Muslim territories in North Africa.
Another fascinating echo of Justinian in the life of Suleiman is his Ottoman title "the Lawgiver" (rather than his Western title "the Magnificent"). Suleiman is known especially for his work in updating the law-code of the Ottoman Empire as well as formulating new law-codes for the newly acquired territories of his empire. Suleiman's grand legislative work, carried out by Sheikhulislam Ebussuud, was, "a revision and amplification of those [law-codes] of Mehmed II and Bayezid II, containing legislative principles for the empire as a whole on matters such as the regulation of the provincial cavalry forces, taxation...and the affairs of the minority population." This work of updating Ottoman law-codes was not only a revision of laws previously promulgated by the sultans of the past but was also a harmonization between the secular laws and the Islamic religious laws. This dual work of updating imperial law and its harmonization of religious law was also a staple of Justinian's reign. Just as Suleiman carried out his project through Ebussuud so too had Justinian carried out his juridical project through a jurist named Tribonian. In Tribonian, "Justinian found the one man capable of bringing a long-cherished dream to fruition. This was a complete recodification of the Roman law, removing all repetitions and contradictions, ensuring that there was nothing incompatible with Christian teaching."
A final similarity between the two men is found in their ambitious building projects. Justinian is arguably most known for the construction of the church of Hagia Sophia when considering his architectural achievements. During the NIKA revolts, the original church was burned down and Justinian took it upon himself to rebuild the church in greater grandeur than the predecessor. Upon its completion, the cathedral of Hagia Sophia was considered to be the largest building of its time and a marvel of engineering with its enormous central dome, 107 feet across and 160 above the pavement. Tradition has it that when Justinian entered the church for the first time, "[he] stood for a long time in silence before being heard to murmur: 'Solomon, I have surpassed thee.'" Alongside Justinian Suleiman too is known for his construction of religious buildings. While Justinian, as a Christian, was known for his magnificent churches Suleiman, as a Muslim, became known for his mosques. Perhaps the most well known of Suleiman's mosques is the one that bears his name, the Suleymaniye in Constantinople. Just as Hagia Sophia was the most ambitious building project of Justinian's architects so too was the Suleymaniye the largest design of Suleiman's chief architect. The design and size of the Suleymaniye are likewise similar and reminiscent of Hagia Sophia; in fact, it's considered to be the second-largest Mosque in Istanbul right behind Hagia Sophia (which had been converted into a Mosque after Mehmet II's conquering of Constantinople in 1453). Upon its completion, there are whispers that Suleiman uttered the very same words that Justinian had said, marveling and the glory of Hagia Sophia when he entered the mosque for the very first time.
Between these historical circumstances, we can see hints of Suleiman being presented by history as a new Justinian. This would be in fact be quite fitting since the Ottomans considered themselves the inheritors of the Byzantine Empire since their conquest of Constantinople. If an Ottoman sultan wanted to portray himself as being the greatest sultan of the empire it's perfectly reasonable that he may want to draw upon the legacy and image of Justinian to give his own reign an image of greatness. While the lives of Justinian and Suleiman aren't completely identical nonetheless the similarities in marriage, conquest, law, and architecture are intriguing and from these correlations, we can see Suleiman as a new, Islamic, Justinian in a sense. While one's preference for Justinian or Suleiman will largely depend on one's religious convictions (as an Orthodox Christian I make no denial that my own religious convictions place my own personal bias towards Justinian or St. Justinian, as he is remembered in the Orthodox Church) at the very least these similarities can be recognized between them. In calling Suleiman a new Justinian we need not insinuate that Suleiman was greater than Justinian, though no doubt those who hold the Muslim faith would believe so, but rather that since Suleiman's reign bears a certain resemblance to Justinian's, and since Suleiman's reign comes later historically - 1000 years later, in fact, he can be stylized as a new Justinian.
(All quotations regarding Justinian taken from John Julius Norwich's "A Short History of Byzantium" while all quotations regarding Suleiman are taken from Caroline Finkel's "Osman's Dream")

On the Meaning of Gods
The villain kneels as the latest young hero coughs and spits her blood on the ground before her. As the villain looks at this girl, this child, he narrows his eyes. This goes beyond violence; beyond disregard for human life, beyond the desire to kill. This is the gods’ fault.
“Sh, that’s enough now. You’ve fought well. I’m sure everyone is proud of you, but you never could have won. It’s not your fault; it was cruel of them to make you fight me.”
“Nobody… made me… do anything,” the hero rasps, too exhausted to even lift her head.
“Oh, but they did. No hero chooses their path willingly.”
“I did!” the hero cries. The effort makes her body shake with a fresh coughing fit, further staining the ground.
The villain rises to his feet and looks at the sky, blue and bright today. There’s something in his eyes which makes the hero’s breath catch. For the first time, she notices the hard-set line of his mouth isn’t from indifference. He’s furious.
“Is this your ‘mercy’?” He yells at the sky, “To send children to their deaths by my hand! Who’s really the bad guy?!”
The sky begins to darken. Clouds gather, the wind picks up, and still the villain screams at the gods above.
“This is your fight! Come and finish it!”
note: this is an original work of fiction
Thunder echoes as lightning splits the sky. The hero’s eyes widen at the place the lightning hit, for there a man appears. He’s dressed in robes of silver, his greying beard full and well-trimmed. He carries a staff so ancient and powerful the hero can feel its power from her place on the ground, and averts her eyes in fear.
“We have not fought you, because if we did,” the god speaks in a thousand voices, “we may destroy this very world.”
The hero is stunned. Even in the presence of a god, the villain stands tall. He squares his shoulders and keeps his chin up.
“Ah. I see. So, you’d hate to ruin the planet you’ve worked so hard on, but it’s perfectly okay with you to murder innocent children.”
“We do not murder them.”
“You sent them to fight me! What’s the difference?!” the villain snarls, and for the first time, the hero wonders if there’s more to him than the monster he lets everyone see him as.
“You do not kill.”
“No. I make their lives miserable, I kill their souls, I brainwash them. I force them to quit the path you chose for them, but I don’t kill innocents.” The villain grins--not a normal grin, or even something twisted--it’s the grin of someone who knows they’re going to die and couldn’t care less. “A god, on the other hand? Let’s see if I can kill you.”
The hero grits her teeth, shielding her eyes from the wind threatening to pull her away. The god watches calmly, completely unaffected by the gathering storm.
“You cannot defeat me,” the god states, their steady voice carrying easily.
“Oh, I can damn well try. This is for my family!”
The hero startles. The villain never told anyone why he turned dark. The police speculated it was because when his wife and daughter were killed he just snapped. Perhaps he is insane, but he’s not trying to destroy the world itself; he’s trying to kill a god.
Lightning flashes and the hero shields her eyes. With a scream, the villain launches himself at the god and gets thrown to his knees by a single tap of the staff, which makes the ground vibrate. The hero wretches.
By the time she looks back up, the villain is back on his feet and readying another strike. The god watches him emotionlessly, and the villain grins. He jogs, then runs, but the god taps the staff again and he flies back almost to where the hero kneels. With blood dripping from the corner of his mouth, he starts to laugh. The god doesn’t move.
“Ah, haha... I don’t know why you hate me, but if you want me dead, just kill me already. I know I deserve it.” The villain closes his eyes with a smile.
The hero startles. She knows he’s talking to the god, but she can’t help but feel obliged to finish this. It’s her duty, her purpose. It’s right. Her hands are shaking as she pulls a knife from the villain’s belt and raises it to his heart, the tip a few inches above his chest.
Wait, she thinks, I’m not a murderer.
She turns to the god. Their eyes are on her, burning and violent. She throws the knife away in a hurry and immediately demands why she did that. Suddenly, she realizes it’s not her voice speaking to her.
“What did you-- What are you doing to me?” she rasps, chest heaving with the effort of staying awake.
“They want you to kill me. They can’t touch me,” the villain says softly, sitting up with a knowing grin, eyes sparkling. He raises his voice and calls to the god, “I get it now. You’re too afraid of soiling your holy hands with mortal blood to take care of me yourself. Well guess what?” The villain struggles to his feet, wipes the blood from his split lip, and steps in front of the hero. “I’ll kill you! I’ll kill you, and do you know how to kill a god?”
The hero holds her breath. The god lifts their head slightly. The villain’s grin widens, animalistic.
“You stop believing. You’re already dying. After all, what’s a god to a nonbeliever? To a whole planet of nonbelievers?”
“No.”
The villain laughs, falling to his knees once more. The earth starts to shake, but he looks the god in the eye and says one word.
“Activate.”
The hero stiffens as pain locks her jaw, unfocuses her mind. The god’s scream is drowned out by the hum of electricity. The villain’s back arches as his years of careful planning, research, and engineering comes to fruition. As the minds of over seven billion people are erased of just one thing: the need to find meaning in a meaningless world.
For to search for meaning in a meaningless world is to put gods where gods are not.

=================================================
Jace is hurt.
Alec is paying for it.
Not the kind of hurt from you get punches and kicks, but the kind of hurt you get from a girl named Rose.
Jace’s strikes and hits are harder and swifter. If Alec isn’t quick with his blocks, each hit would have been painful. Jace, the perfectly trained warrior running with teenage angst and heartbreaks. Alec found it tragic and amusing.
Just 2 days ago, Jace was on cloud nine, bragging and teasing to the boys about Rose and him.
Then yesterday, the official word spread at the academy that Rose was going break up with the Jace Wayland. The golden shadowhunter. People were shock and shamelessly indulged themselves in the gossip. Reasons why for the breaking up? had endless speculations. The most popular one was it was karma. Jace, the pretty boy who always got what he wanted, doesn’t always get what he wants.
Unfortunately, for Jace he was the last to hear. In traditional Jace’s fashion, he brushed it off and laughed. Called her names and told others, he had better.
Yet Alec knows better. Jace liked Rose. He confessed to Alec, that she made him felt different. The kind different that was nice and good. Alec isn’t sure if it’s the big “L” word, but it was enough to see how wrapped up Jace was around her tiny fingers. Izzy called it, being whipped.
But Rose is a bitch and Alec is on the floor, again. He raised his staff to block another hit from Jace.
“Come on, Alec…is this the best you got!” He yelled.
“I am done.” Alec had enough. He’s exhausted. He stupidly volunteered to train with Jace, while the others quickly ditched when they saw Jace walked in. He stayed because Jace is Jace. Deep down Alec was glad, Rose was gone. He didn’t like her,  but Alec didn’t like anyone, especially when it caused more conflicting emotions inside of him. And especially when he felt thing, when Jace’s attention was elsewhere.
At the moment, Alec is done. He doesn’t want to be around Jace. Be the punchbag for something he can’t understand and he can’t relate to. He sighed, sat up and glared at Jace. Who’s heart is racing and face is bright red on adrenaline and anger.
“I am sorry.” Jace looked down, ashamed. He seated next Alec. “I was different this time. I thought she was different.” He was different. The Jace before knew nothing but restless and meaningless hook ups with pretty girls, but the Jace with Rose, talked about buying flowers and wearing ties. Doing mundanes things like going to movies. He was particularly excited about a place called Coney Island, back in New York.
Alec felt bad. He celebrated that Rose was gone, but clearly she hasn’t left the picture. Love was clearly a curse. Made people into fools. Alec wants nothing to do with it. However, the world around him still pulls and pushes him into it’s cage.
Alec knew. He knew he was not like the other boys at the academy. Though, he wondered if there were others shadowhunters like him, but the loneliness was louder and always right. In someway, he is jealous of Jace. That Jace could feel and that he could act upon those feelings. That he could flirt and called and say their names. Tell people about how beautiful someone was and even talk about heartbreaks.
Alec wants to. He wants it. Be free, but the cost was too much and too risky. He had a family name and a status to keep secured. He is the heir of the Lightwood name. He can’t be running around callings names he isn’t allowed to say.
Alec can’t like boys. He can’t be Jace. He has to be like Jace. He needs to like girls like Rose, and have girls like Rose break his heart. That’s the normal way. That’s who he needs to be.
But he can’t. So at least he can pretend.
Alec knew. He knew a long time ago. He knew when he understood Izzy more on the concept of cute boys and dimples than Jace’s science over girls cup sizes. He knows he had to pay extra attentions to hide himself especially when he’s in the locker rooms after practice or when Mr. Koyama, their young poetry professor from the Tokyo Institute reads old love poems out loud in his deep, dominating, and soothing voice.
The man was beautiful. Mr. Koyama. Dark hair, brown eyes, and soft creamy skin. He wears tailored suits and smelled like sweet coffee. He can read to Alec, all day long. Yeah, Alec knew.
                                                            ***
Kelvin Milton walked in then. Looking and smirking right at Jace.
“Wayland, I heard about Rose.” Now both Alec and Jace is glaring. “Now, now…I came here to help mend that broken heart.”
“I didn’t care about her.” Jace scoffed.
“Whatever buddy, but myself and some of the guys are sneaking out tonight. There’s a club in a nearby city…a Downworlder club…and I heard their kind is let’s say…easy and willing.” He smiled. “So, are you guys in?”
Alec was going say no. He wanted to say no.
“Yeah, we’re in.” Jace answered. The old Jace is back. Alec’s glared back at Jace. Who isn’t even acknowledging him. He was in his own world.
***
The entire process of sneaking out was exhausting, but here they are in some abandoned warehouse filled with waves of bodies under blazing neon lights and upbeat tempos.
Alec felt completely out of place.
He decided against his will and principle that he needs to be here, at least for Jace. Jace was already down two beers and prowling through the dance floor. After a little bickering about how Alec was no fun and being a drag with Kelvin and his crew agreeing with Jace. Alec felt overwhelmed and underwhelmed at the same time. Alec replied with a glare and walked off. However, he didn’t leave and still kept his eyes on Jace, but still gave him some distances to be an idiot, which Jace hasn’t disappointed. Jace has found himself entertaining a group of Seelie girls and all Alec knows is no matter how the night ends, Alec will be cleaning up.
Somehow within an hour, trying to dodge death glares from some Downworlders to bluntly saying no to random girls who doesn’t know the concept of personal space. Alec still manage to lose Jace.
“Where’s Jace?”
“Alec, you need to stop being Jace’s little lap dog and loosen up.” Kelvin said as he walked pass him into the crowd following some girl. “…Loosen up, Lightwood!”
Maybe he should. This whole night he has been nothing but a downer. He nagged and complained. He was too fixed on the time and the consequences, beside the few girls who as Kelvin’s minion #2 stated were “checking Alec out” and that Alec was too clueless to see the message.
Alec found himself caught and annoyed.
He should be pretending. He should be fitting in. Yet, all he could think about is Jace. That Jace is heartbroken, hurt, and stupid without supervision. He grunted, glared, and went searching for Jace.
He got a few stares and shoves by some Downworlders, who wasn’t pleased seeing a Shadowhunter among them. He brushed it off, it was no place to start a fight when he and his fellow morons are in their territory. He kept himself focus on searching for the golden locks while trying to not be distracted by the crowds of bodies dancing passionately and completely in disregards of personal space and oxygen.
Alec might be clueless, but he still very warm blooded. The curiosity is there, to be close to someone and move with someone like that.
Than he sees him. Mr. Koyoma. He wasn’t alone. His arms were wrapped around man. Eyes closed and lips lock in a deep continuous kiss. Alec stood only a few feet away and frozen like a deer in headlights. He feels his heart rapidly beating and his chest tight. Mr. Koyoma was dressed different, very causal than Alec has ever seen him. His thin shirt is low and his black pants tightly wrapped around his long legs. The man he was with, a Downworlder. Had his hands underneath Mr. Koyoma’s shirt. Their bodies was pressed closes and slowly moving to the rhythm of the song.
Mr. Koyoma has always been attractive, but tonight he had a different allure under colorful lights and in the arms of another man.
The sight was unexpected and tempting. Alec was envious and definitely curious.
Mr. Koyoma pulled away and opened his eyes. He smiled at the man, who was pulling Mr. Koyoma back for another kiss. He looked happy. They looked happy.
Than the song changed and Mr. Koyoma turned. His soft brown eyes met Alec’s hazel eyes. He looked shocked and shunned. He pulled away from the man. His eye arched up. “Alec?” Alec didn’t respond. He was scared and shook his head as he wasn’t Alec and than he ran.
Alec is panicking. He just stood there watching them, made him felt ashamed of himself on how turned on he was. He pushed and shuffled himself outside. The cool night air was welcoming as he tried to catch his breath. His heart was still beating fast and untamed. He doesn’t know what to do with this information? He was still processing it, but now Mr. Koyoma saw him. Saw him watching.
“Alec?” Alec closed his eyes. Of course, he followed him.
“I won’t say anything!” Alec turned back to see Mr. Koyoma behind him. Mr. Koyoma shook his head and grinned.
“Alec, it’s okay.”
“I wasn’t…I didn’t…mean to.” Alec doesn’t know what to say.
“Alec, are you scared that I caught you here at a place you shouldn’t be or that you saw me?”
“Um…I don’t know…I mean…both.” Alec feels red in the face, he can’t find his words. Mr. Koyoma laughed and gave out a long sigh. He looked baffled. “I am sorry.”
“Why are you apologizing?”
“Felt like I should…” Mr. Koyoma chuckled. “…I don’t know…um…does people know…that you’re…that you are…um…” Alec is officially exhausted at himself now.
“…that I love to dance?” He smiled. “…or that I am gay?” Alec just looked at him. He definitely can’t find the words now.  Alec was stunned to see how easy it was for Mr. Koyoma to say it. “See, I didn’t explode.” Mr. Koyoma smiled, Alec couldn’t help but grinned. “…and no, none of them knows.”
“I didn’t mean to sound like…and why would you be…oh, hell…I am so sorry, I didn’t mean to be…”
“Alec, it’s okay. You asked and I answered…and I am here because it’s date night. We like to dance.” He laughed than suddenly Mr. Koyoma’s face looked worried, like the whole picture of seeing Alec is settling in realization.
“Mr. Koyoma, I do mean it. I won’t say anything.” Alec looked him, seeing the concerns and fear rising in Mr. Koyoma’s eyes.
“I know…I am assuming that if you’re here…Mr. Wayland is here.”
“Yes…”
“Find him and go back to your dorms…you shouldn’t be here…you’re underage…understand?” Alec nodded as his eyes looked back to see the man that Mr. Koyoma was with standing a distance away. He looked worried as he looked at Alec. Alec can only assume what the man was thinking, he was afraid that Alec will tell and destroy everything. Alec would never. Mr. Koyoma looked back and he smiled at the man. “…Go home, Mr. Lightwood.”
Alec watched him walked back towards the man. “Eizo…” The man said softly.
“Don’t worry.” Mr. Koyoma said, as he kissed him. Mr. Koyoma wrapped his arm around the man’s back and together, they walked away.
Love was exhausting.
 ***
Alec helped a drunken Jace back to his room. After cleaning Jace’s vomit and leaving 2 aspirin and a bottle of water beside him. Looking at Jace, made Alec wonder if falling in love was worth all this stupidity? Drunk and mumbling the person’s name over and over.
Than Alec thought Mr. Koyoma and that man. He thought about how they kissed and held each other under the glowing lights and in a crowd of people. How fearless and careless Mr. Koyoma was. Was he not afraid to be caught? Maybe he was, but than maybe he was taking a chance? Maybe?
As he laid in bed. All Alec could think about was Mr. Koyoma.
Unfortunately, Alec was not the only who saw Mr. Koyoma. It only took a few hours before the entire academy knew about Mr. Koyama and his Downworlder lover. Kelvin and his crew was definitely behind this.
Alec empathized Mr. Koyoma, but he also blamed him. The rational part of Alec knew all this could have been prevented. It was Mr. Koyama’s fault for being careless. It was his fault for being caught. He should have known better. He should have pretended better.
Still, parts of him still envy Mr. Koyoma. His stupidity. His courage.
It was no surprise that Mr. Koyoma class was cancelled. A note hang on the door, with a detailed reading assignments and a reflection paper due by next class. The students were thrilled for the free hour, Alec wanted to vomit. Alec felt guilty, he wondered if Mr. Koyoma thought Alec told. He didn’t say anything, even when Jace asked about the rumors. Alec called Jace a hypocrite, that he shouldn’t be supporting gossip when only days ago, Jace was the center of the gossip mill. Jace just looked baffled.
However, one rumor led to another and now whispers of Mr. Koyoma was fired and removed.
When the campus was clearing, Alec stayed in the library, looking up written laws and policies to help Mr. Koyoma. He shouldn’t be fired for something like this. He shouldn’t. Yet, he found nothing to defend Mr. Koyoma, but he also found nothing to use against him. It led no where.
On his way back to his dorms. Alec found Mr. Koyoma in his classroom. He was packing his belongings into a box.
“So, is it true…they did fired you?” Mr. Koyoma turned, surprised.
“Mr. Lightwood.”  He greeted him. “Come in…”
“Mr. Koyoma, I want you to know. I didn’t say anything to anyone.”
“Alec, I know. I wasn’t fired. I quit.”
“Why?”
“They were going to fired me anyway but they will uses much scrutiny…that I personally did not want to involve James and I…he’s a Downworlder. You know they won’t be kind to him.” Alec nodded. He knows.
“His name is James?”
“Yes…” The name itself made Mr. Koyoma smiled.
“What happens now?”
“Go home…to James…get something to eat…I don’t know…finish my novel…take a nap.” He smiled.
“What about being a shadowhunter?”
“Oh, Mr. Lightwood, It’s not about being…I am a shadowhunter. No one can take from me.” He said firmly. “We were made to protect, but to protect is understand life and to know life is to live.”
“I am still sorry.”
“Alec, I’ll be fine.” His eyes soften and he seated himself on top of his empty desk. “…May I say something…share some last wisdom before I go?”
Alec nodded. “Is this about the reading assignment?” Mr. Koyoma laughed and shake his head.
“No, but you should still read those chapters…it be on the final exam…the syllabus will remain.” He looked at Alec, face filled with concerns. “…Alec, you will be okay.”
“What? I don’t know what you’re talking about?” Alec looked away, nervous.
“I think you do…you may not believe it today, tomorrow, or even years…but you will be okay….don’t be so hard on yourself.”  Alec wanted to cry. He felt exposed and empty. He shook his head, holding the sudden urge to confess. “Alec, you don’t have say anything. I won’t say anything…”
“Mr. Koyoma, thank you…take care of yourself.”
“You too.”
***
Swatches. The new word of the day.
It was a rare occasion, both Magnus and Alec had a full day off with no interruptions or any end of the world threats. So, they decided a whole day in the city. Starting with an early big English breakfast at The Spotted Pig. Then, ice Thai tea while holding hands through the busy streets. Walking and shopping through soho.
Alec doesn’t shop. He doesn’t understand it and why anyone can spend hours doing it, but he loves Magnus. Love is making sacrifices.
Including understanding the complexity of the world of cosmetics.
They ended at a MAC, one of Magnus’ favorite cosmetics shop. One of their make artist was excitedly showing Magnus, all their new eyeshadows and highlights. After swatches rows of colors on his own arms, Magnus ended up running out of space. With a very seductive grin, he sweet talked Alec with desserts and cat eyes, into rolling up his sleeves and baring his arms.
The things you do for love.
Alec pouted and glared, as Magnus swiped another shade on Alec’s arm, giggling at Alec’s annoyed glare.
“I love you, Alexander…” Magnus kissed his pouty lips. Instinctively, Alec kissed back, and returned to signature pouty face. Magnus laughed.
“I might need evaluate my feelings.” Magnus smiled and laughed. Kissing Alec’s cheek.
“You love me.” There those eyes again. Piercing deep into Alec, making him surrender.
“So much…I love you.” He leaned over and kissed Magnus on his forehead. “…so…very…much.” He whispered softly into Magnus’ ear. Magnus smiled. “…I better get my dessert tonight.” Alec grinned.
“Hot or cold, Mr. Lightwood?” Magnus kissed him softly.
“Hot.” He replied with his eyes looking down and up at Magnus. A few years ago, Alec could never imagine that he would be standing with his boyfriend in public, kissing and teasing. Yet, here he is. Cover in glitter and every color under the rainbow, thanks to the new MAC.
“Andi, I would like this one.” Magnus blushingly turned back to the make up artist. “…and that one.”
While Magnus wandered away, into another section of the shop. Alec was graciously emptying the make up wipes. Trying to remove rows of eyeshadows and highlight swatches.
“Alec?” A voice called for him from behind. “Alec Lightwood?” Alec turned jaw almost dropping. Mr. Koyoma. He looked the same. His face was still young, and his fashion still posh. However, there was a touch of aging around his eyes. His once dark raven hair, now highlighted with platinum white.
Yet. He looked the same.
“Mr. Koyoma?” Alec was surprised. He couldn’t believe it. He smiled, reaching his hand out to shake. Mr. Koyomo shook his hand, looking down to see a transfer of glitter on his palm. “…Sorry…my boyfriend.” He looked towards Magnus direction, who was still occupied with the lip glosses.
“Your boyfriend?” He smiled. “…Is that’s Magnus Bane?” He turned back to Alec, eyes raised. “…Mr. Alec Lightwood, I can’t believe my eyes.”
“Trust me, I can’t either.” Alec grinned. “Mr. Koyomo, how are you?” Alec straighten his back.
“I am good.” He replied. “…and yourself, Head of the Institution I heard?” He sounds proud.
“You heard?”
“Yes, I am still connected to the Clave vines….and I am very proud.”
“Thank you.” Alec feels ticking of pride in his chest. “Sorry, I am little surprised to see you…it’s has been a long time.”
“It’s has…”
“What have you been up to…beside being here?”  Mr. Koyomo laughed.
“James…my husband, loves the vitamin C toner here. He’s over there…” Alec turned over to see Magnus standing next to another familiar face. James looked the same, exactly the same. He was immortal,
There’s a beauty in seeing the longevity of Mr. Koyomo and James relationship. It’s hopeful. Though, seeing aging eyes on Mr. Koyomo and the immortal youth of his husband was something unexpectedly very bitter. Maybe he should also look into all the skin care talk that Izzy is so invested in.
“Married?”
“Yes, nine years.” It’s all very bittersweet and beautiful to Alec. Yet, Alec wondered.
“Under the Clave?”
Mr. Koyomo laughed and shook his head. “No, in Gothenburg, Sweden…it was a mundane wedding.” Alec nodded. Of course. The Clave wouldn’t recognize a marriage between two men and definitely not between a Shadowhunter and a Downworlder. Alec looked over to see Magnus smiling, in a conversation with James.
“I wonder what they’re talking about?”
 ***
Magnus became quick friends with James. He kindly invited them to join Alec and him for dinner. Alec was pleased when Mr. Koyomo and James agreed.
They ended up in Chinatown and sharing a spicy seafood hotpot and imported Vietnamese beers. They talked about the current news, views on the mundanes’ elections, Harry Potter, and Mr. Koyomo and James’ wedding. Seeing the couple, gushing over details of their wedding day. The tulips, the colors, the expensive champagne, the intimate guests list, and the sunset. Alec finds himself reaching for Magnus throughout the conversations. Holding his hands, touching his lap, and rubbing his fingers gently on Magnus back.
When Magnus begin describing his perfect wedding, about his love for roses and magnolias. He wanted a cheesecake for a wedding cake, tall and grand. A slow dance to Marvin Gaye’s After the Dance. Magnus can see his make up and how his hair will be styled.
Alec is making mental notes of every words, every smiles, and every time Magnus looked at him with adoring eyes.
He talked about his famous designer friends, that have offered to tailored their suits. Yes, he was bragging, but it’s all true. In one year, Alec has met Karl Lagerfeld, Tom Ford, Jean-Paul Gaultier, and many others. It was amazing how much Alec understands the importance of fashion week. Izzy was jealous. Magnus is truly beyond things and “too much” was not because he chooses, it was because he is Magnus Bane. It’s not his fault that the world is on their knees for Magnus.
Magnus added, he would appoint Catarina as his Maid of Honor, and that he would have to blackmailed Raphael to be the ring bearer. Alec laughed, picturing Raphael walking down the aisle. Magnus would make him do that. He would.
When the conversations got serious. Mr. Koyomo told the that he left and was no longer a Shadowhunters by titles, but he will always be a Shadowhunters by blood. He added he couldn’t live among them anymore. Found the Clave, corrupted and troubled. Alec remained silence. He was still learning and willing to listen. James, himself was shunned by the Downworlders and left the Seelie Court. He hasn’t seen family for a decade. Loving and marrying a shadowhunter  was almost treason.
“It didn’t matter…it no longer matter when those without principles tells you how to live…and who to love. The mundanes’ world isn’t perfect but they’re trying at least…and we can live with that…” Mr. Koyomo leaned over and kissed James on his cheek. “…It only mattered to us.” Mr. Koyomo turned back to James, who looked nothing but adored and loved. “…And that’s should be the only thing that matters.”
***
Magnus spend a good hour or two, teasing Alec about his crush over Mr. Koyomo. He also pouty and told all the cats, that he was cuter and had better taste in shoes than Mr. Koyomo. Alec teased him back, an adorable and jealous Magnus was too easy of a tease.
Though, in seriousness. Alec kissed Magnus and told him, his heart will only and ever belong to Magnus Bane. He also told the cats that too.
Alec pulled Magnus closer, pressing his face into Magnus’ chest, causing Magnus to giggle. Magnus was so warm and he smelled so sweet. Alec runs soft kisses along Magnus’ neck and ended up sucking that one of many favorite spots on Magnus’ body.
Magnus is moaning loud and and tempting. Alec is getting hard.
His fingers reaching down into Magnus’ brief, while kissing him deep and needy.
He gets Magnus saying his name, over and over.
***
Hours felt minutes. Their bodies were exhausted, but pleased and satisfied. Alec held Magnus closes, running his fingers along his back. His eyes locked on Magnus’ golden eyes. He leaned down, kissed his bare shoulders.
“I am going to marry you, Magnus Bane.”

WILL WE SEE A MARRIAGE BETWEEN JON AND SANSA IN GAME OF THRONES?
And will the pairing that a lot of fans already want be the one that we all need?
A few book readers speculated that a political marriage between Jon Snow and Sansa Stark would be not only possible, but the best thing for House Stark, and maybe even for each other. However, the idea of any kind of match between them was a quiet cult theory, until season 6 of Game Of Thrones, which set Twitter and Tumblr on fire with the idea of the “Jonsa” romance ship. In this article, I’m going to go through as many reasons as I have discovered for this potential pairing, the foreshadowing that a lot of people might have overlooked, and why readers and viewers should think twice before completely dismissing the idea.
As I am starting with the books, I’ll go ahead and start at the very beginning, before the books were written. In George R. R. Martin’s outline for the series, he had a love triangle in the works, between Jon, Tyrion, and Arya. Even before the first book was finished, he had plans for Jon to wed a Stark cousin. The outline states on the subject:
“Arya will be more forgiving... until she realizes, with terror, that she has fallen in love with Jon, who is not only her half-brother but a man of the Night's Watch, sworn to celibacy. Their passion will continue to torment Jon and Arya throughout the trilogy, until the secret of Jon's true parentage is finally revealed in the last book.”
Given what I am about to lay out in this article, there seems to be a strong chance of GRRM having kept the cousin love triangle, but switched at least the sister, if not the other man (Jon/Tyrion[Littlefinger]/Sansa).
Jon and Sansa began their stories, and left Winterfell, with very similar ideas and worldviews, despite their differing personalities. Both were not just young, heady, and optimistic; both believed in the songs they were sung to as children, but in the heroes the songs described. Both had fantasies of a quieter life and family that, conspicuously, left each other out, and synchronized perfectly with each other.
I would need to steal her if I wanted her love, but she might give me children. I might someday hold a son of my own blood in my arms. A son was something Jon Snow had never dared dream of, since he decided to live his life on the Wall. I could name him Robb. Val would want to keep her sister’s son, but we could foster him at Winterfell, and Gilly’s boy as well. Sam would never need to tell his lie. We’d find a place for Gilly too, and Sam could come visit her once a year or so. Mance’s son and Craster’s would grow up brothers, as I once did with Robb. He wanted it, Jon knew then. He wanted it as much as he had ever wanted anything. I have always wanted it, he thought, guiltily. - A Storm Of Swords - Jon XII
This is a fantasy Jon had, ostensibly about Val, the Wildling sister of Mance Rayder’s wife, whom Jon was infatuated with, at the time. However, she does not feature at all after a cursory mention of stealing her away. He fantasized much more about the hypothetical family than her, and both that fact, and his fantasy-family makeup, is very telling, in three ways. 1.  This fantasy is a direct and near-perfect recreation of the Stark household that he remembers, with him as the new Neddish patriarch. 2. He is not fantasizing about a Wildling girl who walks through Walker territory like it ain’t no thang, or a warrior girl, or a highborn princess, or even a platinum-haired nude dragon queen. He is fantasizing about Val as a mother, and more importantly, as not only the mother he knew (Catelyn), but how he wished Catelyn to be. 3. Most women that we read about in aSoIaF or watch in GoT do not share this fantasy; Westerosi girls tend to be action girls. The only female character who had any kind of similar fantasy, let alone one that synchronizes nearly perfectly to Jon’s, is Sansa:
She pictured the two of them sitting together in a garden with puppies in their laps, or listening to a singer strum upon a lute while they floated down the Mander on a pleasure barge. If I give him sons, he may come to love me. She would name them Eddard and Brandon and Rickon, and raise them all to be as valiant as Ser Loras. And to hate Lannisters, too. In Sansa’s dreams, her children looked just like the brothers she had lost. Sometimes there was even a girl who looked like Arya. - A Storm Of Swords - Sansa
Although they fantasized about different people ostensibly (Jon-Val; Sansa-Willas/Loras Tyrell), both fantasies complete the other, and tell very similar stories about each of them. Both think that love is an addendum to marriage, and something that needs to be worked on. They both disregard the personalities of their interest for what they remember of their mother and father. They both recreate their dead and missing siblings, with exceptions. Robb, Arya, Bran and Rickon are noted, as well as even a Ned. The only figures missing are themselves and each other.
What makes this so extremely notable is not just that the fantasies click perfectly together. It’s not even that Jon’s always wanted exactly this, even from the start, when he dared not wish for his own family. What makes this truly meaningful, is that there is only one girl in all of Westeros who knows what growing up in Winterfell was like, and who wants the same thing as him, and is not yearning for adventure, vengeance, a throne, or power, let alone above this desire.
Just as Sansa is the only person who fits the bill for Jon, Jon is the only man who has lived up perfectly to Sansa’s fantasies and dreams of heroic knights in shining armor.
“Sweet one,” her father said gently, “listen to me. When you’re old enough, I will make you a match with a high lord who’s worthy of you, someone brave and gentle and strong. This match with Joffrey was a terrible mistake. That boy is no Prince Aemon, you must believe me.” - A Game Of Thrones - Sansa
Curiously, although Prince Aemon Targaryen is a historical character in the Ice & Fire/Thrones universe, Prince Aemon is also the role Jon would take in childhood mock jousts with Robb; judge for yourself if that’s a coincidence.
“I’m Prince Aemon the Dragonknight,” Jon would call out, and Robb would shout back, “Well, I’m Florian the Fool.” -A Storm of Swords – Jon XII
(Sidenote - foreshadowing with other foreshadowing: if you think about it, Robb literally died a fool. He got himself, and Cat, killed for love, when he could've married the Frey girl, gotten safe passage from the Freys, and marched towards Kings Landing to avenge his father and rescue Sansa. But we all know what he was thinking with instead of his brain…)
Jon is by every and all accounts the valiant and heroic knight Sansa wished and pined for, as a dreamy 11-year-old girl. Before I continue, I have to add that the men of the Night’s Watch are often referred to as The Black Knights.
Jon has all of the qualities of the kind of man Ned described to her, as well as all of the qualities of the kind of man she’d always wanted; both as a young, wistful girl dreaming of Aemon the Dragonknight making Queen Naerys his lady love, and the shattered, hardened, and disaffected woman she’s grown to become. She has discarded her fairy tales, because she has realized, through firsthand experience, that those fairytales are not nearly as pretty as they sound. The fairytales are horrifying; they are soaked in the blood and tears of the events and people they describe. Jon is the only character who can fulfill both the dreams and fantasies of 11-year-old Sansa, and the disillusioned young woman who’s never until now known a true hero. No other character in either aSoIaF or GoT can do the same:
Frog-faced Lord Slynt sat at the end of the council table wearing a black velvet doublet and a shiny cloth-of-gold cape, nodding with approval every time the king pronounced a sentence. Sansa stared hard at his ugly face, remembering how he had thrown down her father for Ser Ilyn to behead, wishing she could hurt him, wishing that some hero would throw him down and cut off his head. But a voice inside her whispered, There are no heroes, and she remembered what Lord Petyr had said to her, here in this very hall. "Life is not a song, sweetling," he'd told her. "You may learn that one day to your sorrow." In life, the monsters win, she told herself, and now it was the Hound's voice she heard, a cold rasp, metal on stone. "Save yourself some pain, girl, and give him what he wants." - A Game Of Thrones - Sansa VI
That he did, albeit with poor grace, crossing his arms, scowling, and ignoring the naked steel in his lord commander's hands. Jon slid the oilcloth down his bastard sword, watching the play of morning light across the ripples, thinking how easily the blade would slide through skin and fat and sinew to part Slynt's ugly head from his body. All of a man's crimes were wiped away when he took the black, and all of his allegiances as well, yet he found it hard to think of Janos Slynt as a brother. There is blood between us. This man helped slay my father and did his best to have me killed as well. - A Dance With Dragons - Jon II
Not long after, in the same chapter, Jon does the deed:
Emmett kicked his legs out from under him. Dolorous Edd planted a foot on his back to keep him on his knees as Emmett shoved the block beneath his head. "This will go easier if you stay still," Jon Snow promised him. "Move to avoid the cut, and you will still die, but your dying will be uglier. Stretch out your neck, my lord." The pale morning sunlight ran up and down his blade as Jon clasped the hilt of the bastard sword with both hands and raised it high. "If you have any last words, now is the time to speak them," he said, expecting one last curse.
Janos Slynt twisted his neck around to stare up at him. "Please, my lord. Mercy. I'll … I'll go, I will, I …"
No, thought Jon. You closed that door. Longclaw descended.
Their geographic and psychological journeys are near-perfect mirrors of each other. Sansa heads south while Jon goes north. Sansa becomes Lady Lannister, then a bastard (an identity at least partially crafted on her ideas of Jon); then, in the show, Lady Bolton, and finally the Lady of Winterfell. Jon, meanwhile, goes from Bastard, to Jon Stark (in Robb’s will, which Jon hasn’t seen or heard about), to Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch, and in the show, finally, King in the North. Both have to pretend they want nothing to do with their previous lives (Sansa as a prisoner in KL, and Jon with the Wildlings). Both have to essentially fake it to make it, as Sansa tries to actively forget she is not Alayne Stone, and Jon is tempted to stay with the Wildlings. Through all of this, they both try to cling to certain things. Even after abandoning their childhood idealisms to make hard choices, and even through the processes of grieving for their family, as well as trying to become different people, they both have always held notions of justice, fairness, and even compassion close to their hearts and minds.
Also, out of all the surviving Starks, only Sansa sensed Jon’s death:
“There was ice underfoot, and broken stones just waiting to turn an ankle, and the wind was howling fiercely. It sounds like a wolf, thought Sansa. A ghost wolf, as big as mountains.” - A Feast For Crows - Sansa’s final chapter
As soon as news of Jon’s parentage comes out in the North, his claim to Winterfell will be, at the very least, heavily debated among and contested by the Northern lords. Although half Stark, he is not the son of Eddard, but of Lyanna. On top of that, he has a Targaryen father. Seeing as the Mad King killed Ned’s father Rickard Stark, and Ned's brother Brandon. The Northern lords will have no loyalty to a Targaryen. Jon/Sansa would be both an excellent twist of the kind that aSoIaF/Got are known for, and mutually beneficial for the both. Their marriage would secure Jon’s claim to the North, unite the North as it needs to be for the War for the Dawn, and secures the safety and place at Winterfell for both. Also, as she says in the books, “No one will ever marry me for love.” It’s a sad truth, but a truth nonetheless; every and all other Lords would want to marry her for her claim to Winterfell. Jon, though, would never force Sansa to marry anyone. He knows what she’s been through. He cares for her, and would never hurt her in any way. Sansa knows this, and it might just be what will drive her to suggest they marry. Jon needs a Queen either way, to keep the Stark bloodline going. I will even go so far as to say this: I think that the northern lords will want to make Sansa their Queen after they find out about Jon’s parentage, in which case, same thing; she’ll need to keep the Stark bloodline going. Add to that him being a Targaryen, and she a Stark, they would literally be uniting not only the North, but the South too. Soon, every person in the whole of at least Westeros will find out about the Night’s King and the White Walkers. It is this exact moment that the North will need stability, and hope. A union between Sansa and Jon would give the northerners nothing less or other than that. Jon is a great commander. He is brave, and honorable, and he will do all he can to keep Sansa and all the northerners safe. He’ll fight for them. The prospect, the reassurance, and after the battle is over and the war is won, Winterfell and the North will be rebuilt, by its people with the support and help of their King and Queen. Everything points to their union. The prospect, the reassurance, that after the battle is over, after the war is won, Winterfell, the North will be rebuilt, by its people with the support and help of their King and Queen. Everything that points to a good resolution for the stories of Ice & Fire, and Thrones, points to their union.
Even on Thrones, David Benioff and Dan Weiss have planted an insane amount of seeds for Jonsa. Not only for a political union, but in season 6 set the internet on fire with gooey Jonsa romantic tension, with gems such as this moment, from s6e5 (The Door):
Jon: New dress? Sansa: I made it myself, do you like it? Jon: Yeah, well, it’s—I like the wolf bit.
Brothers awkwardly fumbling for words to compliment their half-sister’s dress? Not something you see everyday. This scene was unnecessary, but D&D included it, I’ll allege for a reason. I'm not necessarily saying that Jon is in love with Sansa here, but the tension between them and their interactions are very awkward, and not how they should be between two people who think they are brother and sister. Also, this is not something a brother says to a sister in danger:
Jon: I won’t ever let him touch you again. I’ll protect you. I promise. (From s6e9 - Battle Of The Bastards)
Again, a bizarre choice of words, if Jonsa is not a component of the story. Brothers say things like “ I will never let him hurt you again”, or “tell me where he is”.  Let’s not forget most of their scenes have them speaking while being surrounded by warm candle light and with soft focus; quite a romantic atmosphere for two SIBLINGS. The way their scenes were shot, do not only mirror Ned’s and Cat’s, but also Robb’s and Talisa’s. I find it hard to believe D&D wrote and shot their scenes the way they did accidentally. They wanted to do one of either two things: either set Twitter and Tumblr on fire with Sophie and Kit’s chemistry; or, subtly, put this notion into our heads, have us talk about it, and speculate. Whichever they did, it obviously worked, thus introducing us to the idea, and actually preparing us for it.
PS I thought that @castaliareed and @fedonciadale  would be interested in this meta; I hope it’s good for a 1st.
