Suggestions/tips for over coming a binge?
yess there’s so many things i could say for this one, i’ll try and pick things that’ve helped me.
before binge (having urges):
1. change your environment/the state your body is in. this one is probably the most effective for me cause it helps to divert the mind away from the thoughts of binging in the short term at least. exercise is particularly effective for me. this could be anything from going for a walk, taking a shower, speaking to a friend/family member on the phone, splashing cold water on your face. these things help to take your body out of fight/flight mode and trust me they work if you put the effort in to do them.
2. write it down. maybe you could quickly write out a pros and cons list - write down the reasons you want to binge and then write down the reasons you don’t want to binge. i can assure you the latter list will be much longer and it can help deter you.
3. figure out your level of hunger. it’s good to identify whether you are genuinely hungry or having cravings. a way to do this is by being aware of your body - cravings usually come on suddenly and you feel them ‘above the neck’. like you will have a taste for only particular foods, and just want them in your mouth for the flavour. satisfying cravings can lead to binging (for me). next time you get cravings, let any urges wash over you until your next meal or snack. remind yourself it’s okay to have urges but tell yourself you are in control and do not have to act on them. however, real hunger comes on gradually and you feel it ‘below the neck’, in your stomach. it might rumble and feel empty. if this is the case you should eat something, ideally with protein (at least) and better yet with fibre and fat added for the satiety factor. this could be something like a sandwich made with whole grain bread, ham, salad and mayo or greek yoghurt with nuts/granola and honey etc. you should also make sure you’re eating 3 meals a day with 3 snacks (at similar times everyday if possible) to avoid feeling ravenous. plan them the night before if that makes it easier. but all in all don’t undereat otherwise you are setting yourself up to binge.
after binge:
1. don’t beat yourself up. the way you speak to yourself is important. imagine how you would speak to a friend or younger you - use that same compassion and forgiveness for yourself now. we all mess up sometimes, you’re not a failure and you deserve kindness. continue with your regular meals and snacks and forget it happened. the body is good at adjusting and bringing you back to equilibrium itself. one binge won’t hurt, so long as you don’t do ‘damage control’ like fasting or hours of cardio, you’ll be okay. the ‘damage control’ can actually do more damage as it can lead to another binge.
2. SELF CARE. even better if there’s light movement involved (good for digestion) - seriously though take a bath, clean your room, do some yoga (i love ‘yoga by uliana’ on youtube) in the garden now that the weather is nicer or in your living room, wherever there’s space. drink plenty of water, make yourself a tea (peppermint is great for bloating), take a walk, map out a meal plan for the week and start prepping.
3. again, write it down. write down the date and where you are. write down how you feel after the binge and how you felt before. take note of your surroundings, are there any people? were you alone? take note of your feelings, too. were you bored? upset? angry or irritated? do this everytime and log your binges, over time it can help you identify your triggers. self awareness is a valuable thing.

I think so many people are so deeply alienated from themselves that they have no clue how to exercise their free will and autonomy. For some, this alienation runs so deep that they are afraid of their own autonomy and humanity. It is completely understandable why one would have those feelings, but it can be worrisome.
I want to help others who feel this way, so here are small things I have done to exercise my free will:
Add "guilty pleasure" songs to playlists and actually listen to them (I have a ton of late 1990s-early 2000s music I listen to now proudly that I never listened to in the past out of shame)
Getting the décor item, bath set, bed spread, ect. in the patterns you like, even if it's "childish" (I got a dinosaur-themed wastebasket from the kids' décor section and I adore it)
Taking a new route to get to a place you go to often
Eat dessert first
Celebrate well, and often
Collect things that are "odd" or don't seem like an "acceptable" thing to collect (somebody on my "for you" page collects dandelion crayola crayons and it was so cool!!!!!!)
Incorporate one new piece in an outfit you wear frequently (e.g., a new chain, a necklace, ribbons, bracelets, ect.). Challenge yourself to add onto the outfits if you feel up for it.
Sing along to songs without worrying that you sound "good" or your intonation is completely accurate
Read a book from a genre you weren't allowed to read as a kid (comics, thrillers, mysteries, anything!)
Walk without having a specific destination or goal
Pick up a new craft without expecting yourself to master it or to ever be "good" enough. Get your hands messy.
I don't want to shame anybody for not feeling as though they have free will or that they are exempt from exercising it. However, I wanted to give ideas so that you might read this list and find your own ways to express your intrinsic autonomy and will. You deserve to be a person, to feel alive, not just living. That is what our lives are for.

Scary Sunset.
I'm concepting things way outta order in this story, but I'm sure you can piece things together. Context is for a storybeat where, after defeating and capturing Adagio (thus having all three sirens in her possession), Sunset enacts her revenge plot to release the sirens on Canterlot as Thea discovers she's been manipulated. In a confrontation, the two scuffle and fight over the siren orbs while Sunset struggles with her conflicting wants and emotions.

What's been added to the 3.5 version?
📺 Streamer Mode!
I've been told that it's difficult to stream and monetise age-restricted videos on YouTube and Twitch, so I added an option to remove the sexual content and strong language used in the demo.
Now y'all can invite Ren into your bed for cuddles without putting your streamer career on the line /silly /lh
This won't affect the 18+ rating or dark themes/elements of the game, however! Although Streamer Mode will prevent you from seeing any "gruesome" CGs in the future, most of the core elements of the game will still be tied to the choices and decisions you make. So you won't miss out on the overall experience by using streamer mode!!

⚙️ Custom Pronouns!
It only took me one entire year to get around to it, but you can finally choose your own preferred pronouns (or use a set of pronouns instead)... At the cost of being able to change them mid-game ^^;
Since the original pronoun screen wouldn't update until a new scene was displayed, I temporarily disabled the feature. But once I find a workaround, I'll bring it back!

💗 Choose how others perceive you!
You can now choose how the cast and narration perceive you! Originally, the narration was kept strictly gender-neutral (outside of pronouns and genitalia picked by the player), but this will soon change in future updates.
For more clarity: you don't get to choose the words specifically, but you can choose between masculine, feminine, and androgynous terms!

You can now choose your tatas and pps separately! >:3
Alongside that, you can also choose your preferred body type!
I removed the "both" genitalia option because a few players still assumed it was an obscure version of "intersex". That wasn't my intention and I don't want to mislead anyone, so I took it out for now ^^;
I also didn't want to include a screenshot of the new genitalia choices in action (because it's NSFW), so y'all get the same character menu screen for the nth time instead lmao

📱 Relationship Screen Overhaul!
You can now change your own status for more immersion, and long-term Server Boosters will eventually be able to submit and use their own icon within the game as well!
Stalking finding your friends has now become easier by using "Buddy Maps"; a new app that allows you to see the location of all the cast members!
I want to offer players more incentive to check the relationship screen since they tend to miss the status updates, so hopefully this might help ;v;
It also says it "updates every few hours" so folks don't go overboard and check every 5 seconds to see where Ren is gdsghf (also keep in mind that he's a hacker lol)

🖤 Additional Scenes Update!
Day 2 received a brand new CG!!!!! Originally, I planned on only adding a few CGs sporadically throughout the game, but it didn't feel right to leave Day 2 so... empty... so I added a brand new CG to (hopefully) make things feel more balanced and natural!
If you decline Teo's offer on Day 3, Leon will now call and try to convince you to reconsider. However, players are still allowed to decline, and if they do, they'll reach a dead end.
After listening to feedback on itch, I changed some of the dialogue during Days 1-3 to make it seem more consistent! They're only small changes though, so it's honestly not worth looking for sdgjssga

🎶 Updated BGM and SFX!
I wanted to try out a different style of music to see if it fits the vibe of 14DWY more! The BGM features more acoustics to suit the "beachy" theme of Corland Bay, though I made a conscious effort to include piano elements as well to stay true to the original!!
I figured it'd be better to give players a live example before I make a poll (to see if they prefer the change or not) and publish it to Itch.
Some new SFX have also been added, though it's very minimal and honestly not that noticeable.
How to download and play the update?
(warning: clicking on the following links will open Discord!!) To download the Day 3.5 update, simply join the 14DWY Discord server, verify your age, and visit the "14dwy-updates" channel!
Alternatively, you can also wait until the update is publicly released on Itch to play it as well!! (It normally gets released shortly after a round of QA testing/getting feedback from the server, though I may release it earlier if I feel like it hehe ^^)

Wait, did you put a photo of Vil and Neige as kids in Eric’s office??
oh good, I was afraid that wasn't going to read properly and people would just be like "what is this supposed to be". :') but yeah! I like to think Eric was pretty fond of Neige as a kid! single dad sees orphan child approximately the same age as his own son and goes "hmm. okay, you guys are going to be friends now." (this did not go as well as he'd hoped.)
(also I do love how it's kind of a running joke that everyone loves Neige except for Vil, who's standing over in the corner and just seething with furious irrational hatred. someday maybe he'll find someone who doesn't think Neige is the best thing since cinnamon rolls.)
