WHAT I LOVE ABOUT DAISUGA AND CANON MOMENTS

Let’s appreciate these two for leading the team to the nationals (long post ahead)

1. Their goals and hard work for the team:

They’re always shown together planning for the team. When Asahi stopped playing volleyball, Noya got suspended, former coach Ukai stopped coaching. I felt bad for these two, they went through hard times as their captain and vice captain it’s their obligation to unite and guide the team. During their first year and second year they were used to failure and called flightless crows. Their expectations crumpled but they did not give up. It’s Daichi and Suga’s job to bring back the name of Karasuno to the nationals with the help of coach Ukai and Takeda, finally they made it to nationals, that’s why their former captain was so proud of them because they followed his words. When they didn't have their coach yet, they behaved as Karasuno’s temporary coaches (thank goodness Takeda’s an angel). Daichi was shown coaching the team in the first few episodes and Suga helped Tanaka bond Kageyama and Hinata. Suga questioned Daichi’s plan about the weird duo (Daichi’s a matchmaker) but after what Daichi said he helped the two bond and honed their skills.

In the HQ light novel “Melancholy of the third year student”, Asahi stated “with Sawamura leading the team and Sugawara taking care of the members, what could i possibly do to contribute” he witnessed Daichi and Suga walking together in the hallway; Asahi was impressed because of their dedication to guide the team to the nationals despite they’re in college prep class still they gave their best in guiding the team. Tanaka also acknowledged his senpais hard work that’s why he extremely respects his senpais, he was always there supporting the two. Coach Ukai madly respects Suga because he gave his setter position to Kageyama for the sake of the team and Daichi because he’s the best in motivating the team.

2. They know each other so well:

Daichi has this proud mode when he talks about Suga. When he told the team that Suga’s an experienced setter he had this “Yes that’s my amazing setter” face and when Suga did that amazing spike he jumped like a kid. In the HQ light novel “Sugawara’s decision” this happened during the first training camp. Suga was anxious to tell Daichi of his plan to give his setter position to Kageyama. When Suga finally told Ukai about his decision, Daichi and Asahi overheard their conversation and promised to win any match as much as they can. When Suga stated “I think in order to win, the person we need right now is Kageyama” Daichi and Asahi expressed their concern because the three promised to step on the court together (i get so emotional when the 3rd yrs play together). Daichi was worried and he told Suga that they can do something about it. THIS IS ACTUALLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE HQ LNs because of what Suga thought after their discussion “He was glad to have sawamura who accepted him the way he is, as his teammate” AND I FUCKIN LOST IT HQ LN SHOULD BE ANIMATED. Daichi supported Suga’s decision for the team, “Daichi was very certain of Suga who had been with him for the past 3 years”, he even stopped Tanaka from interrupting Suga’s monologue telling him to listen.

Remember when Ukai announced the first lineup for dateko vs karasuno match and the shot was focused to Suga and back to Daichi; you can see Daichi did this weird eye thing glancing at Suga. Daichi’s proud moments of Suga were “I think you’ve revived too Suga” and “I’m glad you still want to fight” when he told Daichi “I do wish my tosses could’ve played a part in the victory”. When Asahi and Noya stopped coming to the team, the only members left were Suga, Daichi and the 2nd years. Suga also took the blame and Daichi was there for him. He was shown secretly listening to Yamaguchi and Suga’s conversation about the mop (and comforted him that he shouldn't blame himself. I’m kinda disappointed they didn't include this in the anime). These panels show their trust and respect for each other.

He cant even dare to hurt Suga (but lets Suga punch him anytime) and he knows when Suga goes to overthinking mode. Also Suga knows Daichi so well i think i’m gonna cry. Scolding Daichi when he was not vocal during the game; Suga’s known for being the only one who can lecture Daichi. When Daichi told Suga and Asahi that it’s better to hand over the team to the 2nd yrs, Suga knew Daichi didn't mean that; Daichi felt hopeless because they lost again. He knew Daichi wanted to stay and play volleyball and step on the orange court.

He’s also used to Daichi’s stern mode. Daichi was also shown being the one who can keep Suga in control like “Suga please calm down”. Their relationship isn’t fully conveyed in the anime but i’m thankful that creators created drama cds, light novels, extras, spin-offs and haikyuu stage play to let us know more about the characters.

3. The team parents:

They always discuss about their team members like Suga asking Daichi about Kageyama and Hinata (kagehina bond ep) and Tsukishima. In the haikyuu drama cds “what if karasuno’s manager isn’t shimizu kiyoko” and “the reason behind the t-shirts” they were worried about entrusting the manager’s job to Tanaka, Noya and Hinata. When the team was hungry because Kiyoko wasn’t there, Suga told Daichi to take action so he assigned the weird duo to buy foods for the team and they were the ones who planned for the names of the shirts with the help of Noya, Kiyoko was pissed at the two because they were busy thinking of their own shirts. In the haikyuu light novel “the last summer vacation” (Sources: 1|2) Suga watched the team with worry on his face because it was so hot so he approached Daichi and expressed his concern that the team will get sick from the heat. Coach Ukai overheard the discussion and called a meeting. They’re usually seen together in every scene in the anime, stage play, haikyuu light novel, extras, manga, spin-offs and drama cds, scolding Tanaka, Noya, Hinata, Kageyama and Tsukishima; discussing volleyball stuffs; and buying pork buns for the team. In the lets haikyuu and extras (hq spin-off) it’s actually semi-canon they’re karasuno’s team parents. They also have this karasuno christmas bonding tradition.

It was also STATED BY THE DIRECTOR IN THE HQ MAGAZINE AND THE VOICE ACTORS THAT DAICHI AND SUGA ARE THE TEAM PARENTS AND TANAKA’S THE BIG BROTHER (here are the links: 1| 2|3)

4. Teasing, bickering and just them being dorks:

Suga teasing daichi is my jam. In the HQ LN “Yachi’s delivery mission” (Sources 1|2), this conversation frickin made me squeal like a mouse with laryngitis. After practice the team was thirsty and wanted something cold to eat. “It’s indeed hot, lets get ice pops before we head home” daichi stated then frickin SLY/LIL SHIT SUGA JUST CASUALLY SAID THIS REMARK “Oh that’s not a bad idea, are you going to treat us Daichi-san” HE FRICKIN ADDED -SAN. So the team didn't let the opportunity go away they screamed with joy and thanked Daichi. After what happened Daichi just glared at Suga who was smiling at him. Daichi’s a softie when Suga’s involved. Suga got Daichi to buy ice cream for the team. I REPEAT HQ LN SHOULD BE ANIMATED.

Daichi knows when Suga’s about to do something stupid and his antics. They argued about this. When Suga was mad at Daichi because he was implying that the last year shrine visit was nothing; he was so pissed he started fuming at daichi. Suga also told Daichi that steak just being steak is better over diced steak. Hyped suga and daichi trying to calm him down is the cutest shit. In the HQ LN “Tokyo Expedition: Captains’ Meeting”(Sources: 1|2), Daichi warned Suga about Kuroo because he knows how to read minds and loves mind games and Suga was like ‘you need to chill Daichi’. When it was Suga’s turn to pick a card from Daichi’s deck he picked the joker and twitched his brows, Daichi whispered at Suga telling him whenever he drew the joker his brows twitch so Suga massaged his brows. I REPEAT AGAIN THIS SHOULD BE ANIMATED. The other captains and vice captains are competing against each other but look at these frickin idiots they are helping each other. DAICHI OBSERVING SUGA THEN WARNED HIM ABOUT HIS TENDENCY OF TWITCHING HIS EYEBROWS. IM GONNA FRICKIN DO A BACKFLIP. Also Daichi and Suga love to make fun of asahi but when you frickin hurt asahi these two will frickin punch you in the face. Frickin daisugasting dorks.

5. They are always together and in sync:

In the manga, anime, extras, stage play, light novel, drama cds and official art/merchandise they’re usually frickin together and always in sync, same reactions and thoughts. Remember when Daichi looked at Suga (S1 ep24) like he was asking for approval then Suga nodded. That was so cute ugh.

Extras:

Suga is 6 months older than Daichi. June 13 and December 31. Their birth dates makes me go WAIT WHAT.

Suga and Daichi’s name meanings are compatible.

During the christmas bonding time, Suga received daichi’s gift, a daruma. Daichi bought it as a gift because it weighs like a volleyball (he’s such a volleyball nerd) and he told Suga that they should draw the eye together. (Source link)

Suga’s first synchronize attack was a success and he tossed it to Daichi. Coach Ukai assigned these two along with Tanaka to learn synchronize attack.(Remember when Daichi told Suga he borrowed coach ukai’s tablet so they can watch the videos together)

The way they look at each other like there’s nothing else to look at.

What I truly love about these two is their relationship and trust for each other.They complement each other, which makes them a good combination. They went through obstacles and look THEY MADE IT TO THE NATIONALS, kiyoko witnessed their progress and asahi thanked suga and daichi because they welcomed him again in the team, remember when asahi was not sure if they’d accept him to the team but daichi and suga were just laughing and made fun of him.

Their vice captain and captain interaction isn't fully expressed in the anime and i hope that everyone will appreciate them more! They made it to nationals! And them being proud of Hinata and Kageyama in the hq time skip is one of the best treasures Furudate sensei gave to us.

Lets talk about these two. Daisugasting volleyball idiots.

Astrology Analysis: Akaashi Keiji

━Personality:

Akaashi takes a lot of pride in his intellect, as he should! even though he comes off extremely logical when he’s playing volleyball, he can also think abstractly and creatively. he is someone who wants to explore and travel in his lifetime. i mean, he’s great at strategizing and dealing with Bokuto at the same time, so he can juggle these different problem-solving skills.

i think we can all agree Akaashi has a calming presence in general, and he notices very subtle things happening around him that others may not pick up on, such as him being the only one to notice kageyama choking and handing him water LMAOO. the combination of his sagittarius sun and taurus moon gives him an underlying warmness, even though he may come off as aloof or stoic to others.

Akaashi is often someone who battles with whether he should be listening to his heart or to logic; he is very introspective when it comes to life and why things happen...and that’s on no matter what others may say, we are the protagonists of the world 🤪!

when I saw that his lilith sign was cancer, I had to laugh because it's SO like him💀. he hates asking others for help or leaning on others, and he probably won’t immediately tell you if something is wrong. you need to let him know that it is okay to ask for help sometimes (please someone hug him)!!!

his cap aspects also give him outstanding leadership skills, I mean he’s truly captain material! he is highly analytical and understands where his teammates are at, and he can assess tough situations aka him trying to help Bokuto lmfao.

maybe this was only surprising to me, but he’s a smooth talker okayyy, like that sag mercury? He just knows what to say except when it comes to expressing his feelings HAHA

━In a relationship:

like Kuroo, he has a taurus moon and definitely would have to know you for a long period of time before anything else; additionally, he’s not here for games with his capricorn aspects, and he simply isn’t going to waste his time...but if you’re special to him, he’ll protect you with his life honestly.

Square between Mercury and Saturn: Akaashi may not be the best at expressing himself through words at first, but when he says something, he really means it and thinks things through before speaking. i think we see this a lot with the way he talks to Bokuto, he doesn’t tease him or really make fun of him like everyone else on Fukurodani, he thinks about what is going to make the situation better to lead Bokuto into a better mood rather than saying whatever comes to mind! with a s/o I think he definitely would take into account your love language (if its words of affirmation, he would work on it), but I think his main love language would be doing acts of service for his s/o to show he cares.

Venus in Capricorn: I’m a little biased because I also have a cap venus, but I love this about him! he would woo his s/o by showing them that he has his life together basically lol, he’s the type to bring you to a coffee shop near his office to be like “oh what a coincidence..lemme tell you about my job...” Akaashi is someone who triple checks that you are the one, and then once he knows, he commits to you 1000%, ride or die type beat.

also with a cap venus, he likes to daydream about domesticity! he loves the idea of a family and settling down with his soulmate!

he is willing to work so hard for you, especially with those capricorn placements, he’s not half-assing your relationship and expects the same effort from you.

when I saw that he had a capricorn venus and mars,,, I shivered, it makes SO SO much sense to me!! He takes it slow and steady, and he likes to draw out sex. no quickies, unless you’re both extremely desperate. the most important thing for him is being in control!

Trine between Moon and Neptune: I LOVE this about him he has such as affinity towards music and the arts in general. Akaashi lives with music around him as inspiration, and he’s definitely the type that listens to music pertaining to his mood!

Sextile between Moon and Saturn: Akaashi comes off very reserved not because he’s unemotional, but because he’s actually very mature. even in a crisis, he rarely loses his cool and is able to work through the situation calmly and responsibly, which is shown every time he has to deal with one of Bokuto’s mood swings on the court. he is definitely the type of person who has his shit together due to his ability to set realistic goals, prioritize, stay organized, and work diligently🤓. (Individuals with this aspect are often known to appear elegant and attractive, which is so fitting for our pretty setter!)

━Negative aspects:

Square between Sun and Saturn: as someone who doesn’t experience failure often, I can definitely see how this aspect could cause akaashi to struggle mentally. in the face of failure or someone failing to acknowledge his efforts towards something, he gets in his head immediately, he has very high standards for himself. mental blocks are common with him when he can’t seem to figure out something that is nagging him. in other words, he is very much a perfectionist and stalls when things go wrong sometimes.

kuroo tetsurou came into y/n’s life when she needed him to fuck it up the most.

Kuroo tapped the notebook you where you were rewriting your notes for better organization. You looked over, eyes wide with the sudden eye contact he made. Fuck, he’s so hot. You thought this to yourself and had to look away.

“When do you have to close up?” Kuroo asked, his voice smooth in your ear as you become painfully aware of his gaze.

“Half an hour.” You mumbled, checking your watch. Thanks to the silence around you he still heard you.

“Perfect, uh.” Kuroo nervously fiddled with his pencil, trying to prepare himself to be rejected, “Could I walk you home when you’re done?”

“What?” You practically choke it out, your skin feeling hot and sweaty under your current predicament.

“It’s just getting late, I think Inuoka had to have gone home by now if you were planning on going with him. But I’d love to walk you. I really don’t mind.” Kuroo insisted. You gripped the page of your book, crinkling the corner of it between your thumb and index finger.

“Kuroo-san?” You finally gain the courage to say something above a mumble.

“You don’t have to be so formal—” Kuroo started but you needed to let it out before you swallowed it back down forever.

“Why are you messing with me? I know I tweeted that thing but I didn’t think you’d ever see that. I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable.” You said it in practically one long breath, trying to get it all out of your chest like blowing it into a balloon.

“What tweet? Oh the one where you said I was some good fucking food, something about being a delicious specimen, right?” He flashed a handsome teasing grin your way. Your whole body felt like cringing, curling in on itself until you turned into seafoam but restricted it to just your hands curling and your face wincing. Why did you ever forget the internet is forever?

“I’m just teasing you. Of course, I’m flattered. But I was interested in knowing who you were before I even saw that.” He insisted, his genuine smoothness spilling across the table.

“Oh.” You said, quickly turning your face into your opposite shoulder as to hide the panic and flustered expression you surely are wearing. Kuroo wanted to see that face so bad. A light breath was exhaled from his nose as he held back his laugh, you were amusing though he would give you that.

“Why don’t I walk you home?” He repeated himself. You remembered Inuoka’s long gone and the dark of the night had already settled in. You couldn’t walk home alone, but walking home with a guy you didn’t know very well also didn’t sound like a fun risk.

“Y/N-chan?” Your class representative suddenly had approached the desk, Nakamura Satoshi. You hadn’t spoken to him much, only when he needed you to do a certain task. He was #1 in your year, and was extremely popular with the staff and faculty. He wasn’t exactly Kuroo’s status with popularity, but he was up there. There was no doubt people knew who they were. And they knew who each other were.

You were so thankful that nobody else was in this library. As this would be quite the sight for anyone to see. Two of some of the most popular boys at this school hanging around the loner librarian assistant. What was next? Was an idol going to come try to talk to you as well? You set a reminder in your head to punch Inuoka for leaving you alone tonight.

“Ah, Satoshi-kun, I’m sorry I forgot you were here. Can I help you find something? I was about to close up.” You smiled lightly at him. Your interaction with this guy made Kuroo want to put his fist directly into Nakamura’s face. Did he not see he was working on something over here? He just had to come ruin it, huh? Why were you so familiar with each other? Kenma said you didn’t talk to anyone. Kuroo’s patience was coming to a stifling end.

“Ah not exactly, I’m sorry to keep you past your shift. Is the librarian coming to relieve you?” Satoshi asked you,

“No, I’m locking up tonight. She texted me a little while ago to let me know she couldn’t come back to do it.” You said. Kuroo was getting antsy, starting to pack up his things as he tried to urge this kid to stop talking. He was getting the need to be petty, jealous of how comfortable you were with him.

“Oh, I see.” He said, returning his voice to a normal level since nobody else was here, “I was wondering if you could help me understand this assignment from English? You got second highest in that subject last term, right?”

“Well, yeah. Second to you?” You turned your head to the side in confusion, but Kuroo didn’t miss a beat in understanding this guys game plan.

“I could help you.” Kuroo smiled nonchalant, playing coy as if he didn’t know a thing.

“Oh, Kuroo-san! My apologies, I didn’t see you there.” Satoshi bowed and smiled politely. Immediately it was like a surge of lightening went through both of their eyes, their competitive natures being at opposing sides with each other.

“No worries, I scored #1 in english the last 3 years, I don’t mind helping you.” Kuroo said, trying to draw his attention away from you.

“That’d be great, but I’d feel like I was cheating if i got help from someone as advanced as you. Besides, Y/N-chan always takes the best notes from what we covered in class today. I swear! They’re always better than mine.” Satoshi was being light-hearted but not even you could deny the air had gotten thicker.

“It’s okay, um. Is it this one? I’ll admit it was kind of difficult. Learning when to use past, present, and future tense verbs can get rather difficult especially if it changes mid-sentence.” You said this while looking down at the identical sheets, trying to ignore that half of the answer bubbles looked like they used to have writing in them but had been erased. But Kuroo certainly couldn’t ignore that.

“I know, I’ve been kinda struggling with it. Kuroo-san, this could take a little while. You shouldn’t have to wait for Y/N-chan. I can walk her home.” Satoshi tried to wave him off. Kuroo stood up, using his height to his advantage over Satoshi who was probably only 4 inches shorter than Kuroo, but still enough to make his point.

“I don’t mind waiting, I already got my studies done for the day. No need to rush.” Kuroo insisted, “Besides, L/N already told me she wanted me to walk her home.”

“I don’t remember her saying that.” Satoshi pointed out, causing Kuroo’s eyes to widen. So, he had been listening to them. “Y/N-chan, do you mind staying with me, I’d love your input about a few other things for our class? I’ll walk you home and buy you something from the vending machine.”

You wanted to explode. Right then and there felt like the perfect time to just implode actually, so why couldn’t you spontaneously combust.

“Uh..” You nervously fiddled with the end of your uniform sweater, you looked up to Kuroo for some kind of answer. You don’t know why you had done that, you just felt like he would help you in this. Inuoka normally would be that person for you, but now out of the two in front of you, you go to Kuroo. But he just stared down Satoshi instead, when you made eye contact with him you backed down again. You panicked under his gaze. He registered that look you were giving him a second too late, “Kuroo-san, I would feel bad making you wait for me. It’s okay to go on without me.”

Kuroo wished he could back track, he wished he had the right authority to just pick you up and take you with him. He wished he could’ve gone back to when you looked at him with those panicked eyes looking for an answer and answered for you again so that you would feel like you had an ally. Satoshi didn’t skip a single beat, he took the seat Kuroo had been sitting in for the last few hours to make sure he could be even closer to you than he had been to immediately start asking you questions to ignore Kuroo.

“I’ll see you tomorrow, L/N.” Kuroo couldn’t help but hang his head with his defeat. As soon as Kuroo left through the front doors, the rubber band you felt between the two of you that had been getting pulled tighter and tighter was cut by the doors of the library. It snapped back and hit the air out of your chest. You felt weaker without him, like you couldn’t focus on what Satoshi was asking you even though you were more familiar with him he never gave you the same feeling of blissful silence in the way Kuroo gave you today.

You didn’t know that Kuroo was going to give you up that easy. You didn’t know that he wasn’t. That he was waiting down the hall waiting for you to leave with that guy with you so he could prove his own suspicions. He was never going to give up that easily.

Hinata x Kageyama

Kageyama struggles with communication and understanding others. Hinata, on the other hand, overcommunicates and has a knack for understanding people, even if he doesn’t realize that he does. Plus, Kageyama has struggled to find connections with people because of his zeal for volleyball. This on top of his trouble with communication made it hard for him to make friends. But Hinata matches Kageyama in his zeal and covers Kageyama’s communication weakness well, all while Kageyama gives Hinata a proper volleyball outlet and pushes him to constantly strive to be his best, so I think they’re neat together.

Hinata x Kenma

Again, Kenma is someone that’s not the best at communication, with a little dose of social anxiety on the side. He’s a lot softer than Kageyama and struggles with communication because he thinks too much (which is the opposite of Kageyama lol). Hinata makes him feel comfortable enough that he can communicate without overthinking himself into a hole. And Kenma, for Hinata, gives him a way to talk and an honest opinion when he needs it.

Atsumu x Suna

I will take not shit for ship. They are so cute together. During the match Inarizaki played against Karasuno, Atsumu and Suna bantered and, during the flashbacks, Suna and Atsumu were shown to have a pretty good relationship. Plus, Suna is a pretty laid back person and Atsumu is obviously the kind of person that would overwork himself to death or push forward without thinking of the consequences. Suna is a brutally honest person, but I feel like he struggles a bit with moving forward because it’s hard for him to feel motivated. So, Suna can keep Atsumu from going too far and Atsumu can help motivate Suna to move forward when he doesn’t feel like he can.

Kageyama x Tsukishima [as adults]

Honestly, I don’t even have a good reason for this. They would be dysfunctional because they suck at feelings. Tsukishima never actually says what he means because he’s high key scared of being vulnerable. And Kageyama sucks at communication (but, after Suga’s advice, he takes a much more direct approach to handling Tsukishima, which I feel is what Tsukishima would need in a relationship) and he also sucks at reading body language (particularly Tsukishima’s) which I feel would be something he would need to be with Tsukishima. But Tsukishima would force Kageyama to begin to think more critically in order to keep up with him and Kageyama would force Tsukishima to be more forthcoming with his emotions, even if just because Tsukishima would have to up his passion levels to keep up with Kageyama. So, if they could figure it out, I think they would be a very good couple. If they didn’t though, I feel they would be lowkey toxic.

Daichi x Suga

Can you watch Haikyuu and not ship these two??? Daichi is very calm, collected, and stable. And that’s a good balance with Suga, who’s an instigator, a meddler, and a worrier. They both care a lot and their very attentive, but they’re opposites in that Suga is a chaotic little monster with an angel face. So they would be a good balance when it came to a relationship. Plus, they would be the sappiest motherfuckers alive together, so, they’re kind of like a comfort, fluff ship.

Nishinoya x Asahi

This another one where I ship because they are opposites. Noya is extremely brazen and confident. Asahi is extremely the exact opposite; he’s shy and awkward and self-conscious. Noya, in canon, gets onto Asahi for being self-degrading and hypes him up when he feels Asahi needs it. And Asahi is someone Noya looks up to because he’s strong, even though he struggles, and someone he wants to see succeed. Asahi forces Noya to calm down and allows him to actually feel afraid. One of the reasons Noya understands Asahi so much is because he struggled with being scared when he was younger. So, I feel like Asahi can feel comfortable with Noya because he knows that Noya understands and, at the same time, knows that Noya managed to overcome his fear, which is probably really comforting. Hinata x Tsukishima

They would be so cute, please. Tsukishima is so mean because he’s a big baby and Hinata straight up does not care. It’s also canon [from during the practice match with Seijoh] that Hinata doesn’t like seeing Tsukishima picked on or struggling [he legit offered himself in Tsukki’s place]. Hinata is a big ball of bright emotion and energy where Tsukishima is more clam and reserved, but Hinata has the ability to draw real emotion out of Tsukishima. They’re another two that would balance well. They’re relationship would be a lot of teasing and mocking, though [they have about 3 million inside jokes and Tsukishima revels in leaving people confused with them].

Kiyoko x Tanaka

Please, this man proposed the first time he saw her. And he legit stayed dedicated, but never overstepped Kiyoko’s boundaries. He never harassed her or did anything to make her feel uncomfortable. And Kiyoko was never mean to Tanaka, even when she rejected or ignored him. They had a stable relationship because Tanaka’s a goddamn gentlemen [can you tell I simp for this man?] and Kiyoko knows it. She fell in love with him over time because of how respectful and thoughtful Tanaka was. Plus, she’s seen firsthand, for years, the dedication and passion in Tanaka’s character, which is a good contrast to her colder, calmer personality. She gives Tanaka stability and Tanaka gives her passion and comfortability. The fact that this ship is canon gives me life.

Nishinoya and Tanaka

The level of chaos in this ship, oml. Two disasters. Absolute mess all the time. They love each other so much and they’re both like walking hype-men. Literally no insecurities in this relationship. They are the two most dedicated boys in existence. And they like to have fun, so they’re constantly challenging each other, which keeps their relationship fun and growing; it never really settles, no matter how long they’ve been together because they’re always finding something new to love about the other. They would go on adventures together. So cute.

Kuroo x Kenma

They’re childhood friends. It is law. Kuroo is so smart and so serious and so caring. He makes sure that Kenma isn’t neglecting himself for his games. And he made sure that Kenma got involved with the team so that he would have friends when Kuroo was gone. And Kenma lets Kuroo delve into his passions and gives him a safe place to relax and be goofy. Kenma is so aloof, but also really caring as well and he’s always paying attention, so he would know immediately when Kuroo was pushing himself too far and needed to let off steam [y’all remember that scene where he asked Kuroo if he wanted to level up (go play volleyball) after they lost a game because he couldn’t just sit and game knowing that Kuroo was upset over the loss? yeah that shit]. And Kuroo gives Kenma somewhere safe and secure where he can be himself without worrying about anything else.

Kuroo x Tsukishima

This is one of my favorite ships. They’re both ridiculously smart, so the conversations and witty sass between these two is literal gold-tier shit. Tsukishima never lets himself be goofy and I feel like, the longer that went on, the more it would wear on him mentally. Kuroo, on the other hand, knows the important of not being serious all the time. So, he would bring Tsukishima out of his shell and give him a safe space to be a dorky as he wanted. And Kuroo could talk all the Chemistry and science he wanted and Tsukishima would be able to keep up with him. They would constantly be challenging each other intellectually and they would know so much random shit because of it. Definitely the couple that has trivia date nights just to see who’s smarter. They would be such a well-rounded couple because they would balance and push each not just intellectually, but in every aspect of their lives. I can see them being the couple where one has an exam and the other just brings them coffee or tea, gently mocking and praising them until they can find it in themselves to study and get everything done. The one that doesn’t have the exam or big project at work would do the house chores, quietly, though, so the other could focus on what they needed to do. They would know just when the other needed space and when they needed a distraction or comfort. They just...would know each other so well and I-

Bokuto x Akaashi

[Did you think I wasn’t going to do this one?] Bokuto and Akaashi are both passionate and dedicated. Akaashi is a lot more emotionally stable, but he’s also an extreme overthinker. Man overthinks everything. Bokuto, on the other hand, is an under thinker that functions almost purely on his emotions. So, overthinker + under thinker = the perfect amount of thinking. That combined with the fact that Akaashi is emotionally intelligent, but not emotionally expressive means that Bokuto, who is emotionally intelligent and extremely expressive, can help maintain the right amount of communication in their relationship.

Iwaizumi x Oikawa

I wasn’t kidding when I said this was law for childhood friends. I meant that shit. Oikawa is manipulative, calculating, and extremely driven. But he has no concept of his own limitations or elects to ignore them because he wants to improve. Oikawa is really insecure, too, because he’s constantly trying so hard, pushing himself further than he can go, and it’s still never been enough to make him the best. Because of his fangirls and his desire to be the best, Oikawa is constantly making himself seem perfect, which means hiding parts of his personality at times. And he’s the type of person that has control over his emotions because he’s pretty methodical when it comes to his goals; he’s willing to literally do whatever it takes to succeed at what he wants. Iwaizumi, on the other hand, has known him long enough that Oikawa can literally not be perfect with him. Oikawa has to be real around Iwaizumi, who knows and acknowledges his true personality in its entirety, even going as far as to point out Oikawa’s flaws constantly, to remind Oikawa that he knows him and stays anyway. They make damn good outlets for each other and they know each better than anyone else, which means that they are, quite literally, each other’s safe space.

Title: First Kisses (Haikyuu - pt. 4)

Genre: do I have to say it? FLOOF, MY FRIENDS.

Pairing: Kuroo/Kenma/Taketora/Lev x Reader (separate)

Notes: Okay, I have to say this. This one may be my overall favorite next to the Karasuno first years collection. I have no valid reason to say why, but I love Nekoma and Fukurodani. The Tokyo schools are the ones that are HUGE standouts and are so interesting to me, though there isn’t much other information than what’s provided in the wiki.

Like, I love information and absorbing it and I’ve read through both so many times, it’s getting annoying. Can anyone help with gathering more information?

Otherwise, I realize that my writing has taken a severe nosedive. At least to me. So, I apologize in advance if these kinda suck. (I’m also super sorry for this being so late! Tons of crap had been holding me from typing this up.)

Kuroo Tetsurou

this teASE-

he’d definitely want someone very cute and small

possibly shy, but not necessarily

also someone willing to try new things

(though this isn’t what will essentially draw him to his s/o)

otherwise, i feel that the kiss would happen during a date

something like dinner and walk

or a movie and dinner

maybe even a trip to the amusement park

which is where we begin

though the night was fun, it was coming to an end

kuroo would have been teasing, chatting with you and his friends, and enjoying the time that the group has spent

some people are starting to split off

you two aren’t in that group just yet

it isn’t until you pause for some ice cream that you two momentarily separate

you were in a group with bokuto, akaashi, hinata and tsukishima

and while tsukishima was trying not to snap hinata’s neck

and bokuto was staying close to (hanging off of) akaashi

you and kuroo were eating your ice cream peacefully

(though kuroo was fighting the urge to jump in and join bokuto in his extravagance)

it wasn’t until someone accidentally hit you that you two had to split

your ice cream would have hit your face

(yes, you are that short. don’t @ me.)

and gotten everywhere

like...

it’s up your nose and almost in your eyes

and it’s a total mess.

you don’t cry, but you are embarrassed

and while the passerby apologized, you also couldn’t help but silently curse them.

kuroo noticed your expressions

and how you got dejected when you got hit

so he took you by the shoulder and told the guys that you’d be back after a few minutes.

since it was an amusement park, there are no complete bathrooms

but there are waterbottles, napkins, and car mirrors.

so he had to improvise.

he gave you what you needed and helped you as much as he could,

but your embarrassment was preventing you from leaving just yet.

you knew that you two were far from done for the night, seeing as it was only hitting 7:30 pm

but you also knew that you didn’t want to risk something like that happening again.

so when your face was cleaned, you laid back while kuroo held your hand.

he tried to leave, but he noticed your grip tighten.

no sound needed to be heard from you to confirm what both of you were thinking

‘i/they don’t want to go back just yet.’

the area was quiet as kuroo walked back and hugged you, one which you returned

short sighs was all that could be heard for a few minutes.

eventually, you were ready, and you let kuroo know by tugging on his tee.

he had made a vow for tonight, though -

he knew you hadn’t had your first kiss, and he wanted to make it special to you

and he knew that you didn’t like huge displays of affection.

so he just knew that this was the chance when you glanced up at him when you left the hug.

your eyes were big and, while your face was a little dull from the stickiness of the ice cream,

(i hate the fact that i thought of something nasTY when i wrote that-)

he found that the way the setting sun lit your figure up was magical.

he knew that now was the perfect moment.

you noticed his hesitation

and you began to question him

but he kissed you before you could get a word out.

kuroo is a driven and passionate man, so this was obviously reflected in his kiss

it subdued sense of force that he used and the shyness of yours was beautiful to him.

it wasn’t until he softened his end and you put more force into yours that you two got even closer.

though the height was hard to deal with, and resulted in some teeth clashing by default.

you two were drawn into your own little world, and the kiss opened up a new door for the both of you.

once you two were done after a few minutes, you pulled apart.

he had a teasing smirk on his face, you were blushing and pouting.

“did you have to just kiss me like that? people could’ve been watching!”

“hahaha, did you think i’d miss that chance, that oh-so perfect opportunity, chibi-chan?”

though you did continue to drop little periods of whining, you did calm down and relax for the remainder of the night.

the stars led to even more kisses that night

(of course, in private, kuroo may be the master of provocation, but he does know what his s/o is comfortable with.)

essentially, the overall kiss was very reassuring.

not really anything for extreme comfort, but most definitely a kiss that would calm you down for the night. (seeing as you initiated the return.)

it was also fairly long and passionate

something long enough to leave you decently breathless

(sidenote: it’s kuroo, what did you expect?)

either way, it was the perfect setting, too

(but kuroo wouldn’t admit that he knew the next step in the relationship would be perfect in the sunset)

Kenma Kozume

shy gamer boy needs someone outgoing yet calm and collected.

i’m throwing the beck reference in here again.

yep, beck from victorious. that kind of vibe.

it has been proven that he’s only quiet when you first meet him, and is chatty when you know him

so he’d want to be able to have a conversation with his s/o that revolves around their similar interests

a gamer, preferably

and since shy bean is shy bean, the kiss would be at one of your houses

most likely over a game

probably a racing game and the finishing game scores are neck and neck

and the kiss itself?

well, let’s begin.

you two had been playing mario cart for a while now.

the two of you had evened scores.

(2-2; best out of five)

and, despite his somewhat calm demeanor,

kenma was internally screaming.

‘s/o’s ahead of me, and the shell didn’t work.’

he didn’t want to play dirty, but you were winning.

he wanted to win the game to get the upperhand over you

but you had only continued to play at your best.

he found your drive adorable and intriguing,

but (i’m gonna say it again) he wanted to win.

so, he had to start planning how to defeat you in game.

though he did know that this would be up to chance.

in the midst of his thinking, he barely noticed how it shifted to the way you looked.

your face was lit up by the artificial light,

and as cliche as it sounds, he found that glorious.

the look in your eyes as your chosen character flew by on the track made him blush.

and that was when it hit him,

if he can’t win, he’d take you down with him.

and he’d do that with a kiss.

(let’s be honest, kenma would do something desperate if he wanted to. even if it was extremely out of character.)

(though that might just be me trying to fit the storyline, but like- he wouldn’t date someone unless he knew that he could trust them.)

he’d said your name under his breath.

while you two would normally be very much willing to talk, this was not one of the times.

so you were a little worried.

you knew that he was very ‘eh’ about his emotions, but he had his own little ways of communicating them, and this was new.

what happened when you turned your head to look at him though-

that wasn’t worrying in the slightest.

kenma, in a somewhat uncharacteristic action had kissed you.

it was short, and mischevious, a little messy as well

but it was enough to distract you

i mean, like-

QUIET AND CLOSED OFF KENMA KOZUME JUST KISSED YOU.

this boy had never really taken the first step to do these things, at all, so this?

hooo boy, you were shocked.

so shocked that you failed to see that you had fallen to last place while kenma had won in first.

your jaw dropped to the floor when you saw it and you pouted.

you did notice that kenma was red-faced and looking away from you, though

so you did the same thing.

short, sweet, mischevious.

you just returned the favor~.

so, in conclusion?

the kiss is shy and quiet, but has some supercharged air to it

i mean, i imagined it happening in the midst of a final game.

what was to be expected.

(i also hc kenma to be the type of person to tease his s/o relentlessly in private, so-)

the whole scenario was just the perfect combination of innocent desires, a confidence boost, and a drive to win.

the setting too.

super relaxing to the both of you

especially considering that the two of you are not the most open with your relationship.

oddly adorable, but just the slightest bit annoying.

Yamamoto Taketora

this man, not gonna lie, is gonna give me a bit of a problem

i also had to do a small observation of his character, so.

once i found out that yamamoto is timid around girls, his s/o?

the girl i imagine he would go for clocked me square in the face.

someone with a not-so-talkative nature, but is CONFIDENT.

seems to have the default personality of an angel, but isn’t afraid to tear someone a few new ones if provoked enough.

otherwise, i think that the kiss would happen on a weekend or over holiday.

like-

this is hard to explain, so i’ll just get into general scenario.

so.

his parents are away for the weekend, he isn’t trusted to babysit, and his sister can’t be left alone or with her brother or else chaos will run free for the few days.

the solution?

his parents ask you to stay with the two of them to keep them in check and taken care of.

so you, in love with taketora and his sister’s personality, agree to their plea.

(taketora would be the first of the two to make their opinion on your stay obvious - what else would he be besides ecstatic?)

otherwise, everything is prepared and the weekend picks up.

his parents are now gone, you are now at their humble abode, and akane has just pulled out a just dance game.

she had been pestering you two to play it with her.

while taketora denied, you agreed and akane had taken to picking a song while you started to move the table in the middle of the living room.

he was watching as you started the time with a bang.

as you three did more stuff and the weekend progressed, he only fell more in love with you.

you fell more in love with him as well.

though neither of you would admit it.

now, seeing as the final day has come to pass, things were starting to wind down.

you, akane, and taketora were seated next to each other on the couch.

a movie was playing and the two yamamotos were digging into the popcorn that had been set out on the coffee table.

they had their eyes dead set on the current events in the movie, but you?

you were watching taketora and akane.

he looked so happy, she looked so happy.

one little makeshift family for the three of you.

you had smiled and looked away.

what you didn’t know was that taketora could feel you looking at him, he could even see your content expression from his peripheral vision.

he was happy to be able to experience something like this with you.

you were so charming, so kind, so smart, and so good with kids

(something i will never be lol)

what more could he ask for? you were perfect for him.

sadly, things had to come to an end at some point.

that point was when akane was passed out, the credits were rolling, and a car had pulled into the driveway.

you two, awake and ready to start cleaning, had allowed the disappointment to set in.

“i had fun with you guys.”

he smiled, though it was a little shy.

he was watching as you grabbed the remote and shut the television off.

he was blushing. you noticed. it was cute.

the room became silent, and it wasn’t broken until the sound of jingling keys could be heard.

you two had slapped on smiles as his parents entered.

after a short conversation, his dad lifted akane up and took her to her room while his mom thanked and paid you.

you went to leave, she offered to drive you home, but you persisted on walking.

taketora took it upon himself to make sure you got home safely.

the moon was high and bright, seemingly smiling.

you loved the calm silence, he loved looking at your gentle expression.

the light had made you glow, and the way your eyes sparkled pushed him over the edge.

he had to kiss you now. he just had to.

you failed to notice how he was blubbering silently, something akin to a fish.

he had to pull himself together if he ever dreamed of kissing you, so he had to do it now.

“hey, s/o...”

you turned to face the two-tone haired boy, and he grabbed your wrist gently.

you blushed at the action. but gestured for him to continue.

“can i...kiss you?”

your blush got even brighter, but you nodded your head.

he slowly closed the ever so slight gap between the two of you.

and he kissed you.

slowly, gently, kindly - it was truly loving.

it was very long, though.

in fact, it was getting so long that the smile he wore when the kiss continued dropped into a pout when you had to press his chest as a cue for him to stop.

you giggled at his expression, and it didn’t last due to that reaction.

the calm silence returned, and as you two continued to your home, he held your hand.

(that was almost so sweet that it became disgusting, wtf-)

but, overall-

super sweet, super long, super loving.

there’s is almost no other way to explain the feeling

if you want to count breathless, go ahead.

either way, it was perfect and just the right amount of intense for the both of you

(or a balance, rather, but i think you get what i mean in relation to him and hsi s/o’s character).

and again, the setting?

too perfect.

the stars aligned in his favor that night, that’s for sure.

(i almost gagged while writing this, why did i have to make it so sickeningly sweet, my god-)

Lev Haiba

i don’t make the rules, it needs to happen.

who the hell else is gonna make sure that this guy doesn’t bring more problems onto himself?

his s/o would have to be responsible and somewhat motherly.

tough love is best love for tol boy.

i think that they would also be very into volleyball, even pushing as a manager for the team.

(you and kuroo would have to be the primary sources of improvement for lev, let’s be honest)

otherwise, the kiss would happen after a practice.

and it would be a milestone for the team.

(by default, of course.)

so, what exactly do i imagine would happen?

wellll...

practice had just ended

everyone was sweaty

a select group of people had to clean up the gym while the other half had to make sure that the locker rooms were in pristine condition.

you had stayed back to help the guys in the gym.

chaos had begun to ensue when you were cleaning around the outer edge of the gymnasium, so you had to do something.

granted, this group consisted of yamamoto and lev - not surprising.

despite your smaller stature, the guys there knew not to mess with you

things worked out!

the cleaning was slowly getting done, people had begun to leave.

(some volleyballs were thrown in the process between you and lev, though kuroo doesn’t and will never know.)

the smiles that come up during the time are beautiful

almost like that night in general, but you didn’t care.

you, in fact, found lev adorable.

despite his height, was a giant baby - and you loved it.

either way, when the cleaning was done, only a few of you were left.

kuroo and kenma left for the train, kai was packing his things, and you and lev were already on your way to your respective homes.

you two were holding hands tightly, you giggling as he swung your limbs back and forth.

he was almost throwing you, but he wasn’t

the whole thing was a big, fun mess

once he had calmed down, he had started to ask you about your day

you responded accordingly, and he had to do what he would normally do

tease you.

things were silent once you had asked him and he responded, so this would have to be done if things had to flow somewhat

the tiredness had set in, and it wasn’t until you had heard the dreaded words escape his mouth that you almost jumped and smacked him

“so, s/o, how’s your height doing for you down there? Are the land bugs hitting you?”

you deadpanned and started to claw at him, just the slightest.

his laugh was what drew you from your mini meltdown.

you calmed down as you watched his eyes light up with amusement.

he seemed so relaxed and happy, you just had to smile at him as well.

the air around you two lost the tired feeling and settled into something bordering on romantic and teasing.

you were throwing tall jokes at him, he was throwing short jokes at you.

fair deal for a couple so far apart in height, i’d say.

that being said, the tired eventually set in amongst the conversation and rebuttals.

with the drowsiness hitting you in the middle of a comeback, you got loopy

and said something without thinking

(aka something unlike you, the somewhat composed manager of the Nekoma boys volleyball club and unofficial guardian of the chaotic lev haiba)

“i wanna kiss you.”

lev, though tired as well, wasn’t as drained as you and heard what you had said loud and clear.

he blushed firetruck red and stuttered through the repetition of the statement.

it took you a few seconds to realize that, to summarize:

yes, you said that

yes, lev heard that

and yes, you meant it

you had gathered the remnants of your awake conscious to say what you had to say, now that you had already spoken your desires in a goofed state.

“*clearing throat* u-um, i...i want to kiss you, l-...lev. i want to kiss you, so can-can i?”

his eyes got wider, he blushed darker, and his heart was beating at a million mph

but he didn’t deny it.

in fact, he straight up leaned down for you.

“you wanted to kiss me, right? then go for it!”

you, in your tired stupor, went along with it.

you had to jump a little bit because he didn’t lean down so far, but you still managed to peck him on the lips.

(he enjoyed the image of you jumping to try and kiss him, and he could get used to it)

he chuckled again before meeting you down below once you were away from him.

the two of you just stared in each others eyes and turned into tomatoes.

overall, just-

AGH SO CUTE.

it doesn’t seem like much, but i think that the kiss would kind of comical and somewhat immature

while still remaining very romantic and sweet.

the setting itself?

the two of you, most likely, would have ended up like this if you had stayed back longer or had gone to a diner for a date.

(as a sidenote, you lived near yaku. this is something he didn’t know and you were too tired to remember, so when yaku noticed the little scene from his bedroom window, he had to bring it up at practice the next day. the two of you were promptly teased relentlessly.)

strangely, you've been having this hyper-realistic dreams that freaked you out, you were inside of a body of a very unfamiliar and foreign looking boy. he was tall, pale, had these cat-like emerald eyes, he someone that you didn't know.

at class, the whole room stared at you for a couple of moments and you wondered what did you do for them to stare at you like you just sprouted another head.

"hey, you alright now y/n?" your friend yamaguchi asked you, and you tilted your head to the side.

"huh??"

"you were acting awfully strange yesterday, like you were completely out of it! you didn't even remember my name." yamaguchi explained to you, and in return you just stared at him with a confused expression on your face.

"HUHHH??"

"it was like you were somebody else." tsukishima, another friend of yours, stated. his golden eyes staring into yours with his usual poker face on. and with that, yamaguchi nodded in agreement to what tsukishima said.

you scratched the back of your head, now that they've mentioned it, you didn't think that you remembered clearly what happened yesterday. the teacher walked in and all of you returned to your proper seating arrangements. you were still weirded out by the fact that you had this weird dream and was even more confused on what tsukishima and yamaguchi pointed out.

you took out your notebook and opened it, there it was, several drawings of cats on your perfectly clean notebook. and you didn't even doodle nor did you like cats THAT much. you flipped your notes over and over and saw more cats and random doodles of a volleyball. you thought that maybe tsukishima and yamaguchi was pranking you, saying stuff that would further confuse your mind. then you came across a page, there was a question there written in big letters.

" あなたは誰？" (who are you?)

okay now this was definitely weird. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ "HUH? I never did any of those!" Lev pointed out to kuroo who just stared at him with his arms crossed, it was a regular practice at nekoma. but this time, kuroo and yaku was talking to lev about yesterday's practice.

"uh huh... you were like a whole new person yesterday. you were weirding everyone out with your shy and timid attitude. even the coach was worried about you!" yaku explained and it made lev tilt his head with a very confused expression, he furrowed his eyebrows as he squinted his eyes at yaku. not believing a word he said.

"i think that all of you are pranking me! even alisa was saying how weird i was 'yesterday'!" he replied, looking down at them as he crossed his arms against his chest. yaku, in reply, kicked lev on his shin making lev lose all the feelings in his legs and drop down, and yaku stomped away huffing at lev.

"as fun as it may sound, it's basically pranking you. so you better get your shit together, lev." kuroo said and walked away with his hands on his hips, lev grunted as he sat down.

just what on earth is exactly happening right now? ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ you opened your eyes and realized that you were in an unfamiliar room. you were having the same dream once more, you sat up and looked around with a sigh. you thought at how ridiculous it was and pinched the bridge of your nose.

you stood up and went into the bathroom, looking at the mirror, just as you had thought. you were in a dream once more, trapped in a body of a boy with dark emerald eyes and silver hair almost similar to the color of your upperclassman's hair. with a deep sigh you went and got ready for school without looking as a deep blush made it's way to your face.

'oh gods, when will this dream end?'

at school, you had a difficult time going there, bumping into a raven haired man once more who greeted you.

"lev! don't be late for today's practice, yeah?" he said, wrapping an arm around your tall figure and you nervously played with your bag strap, nodding in response. kuroo laughed at you and slapped your shoulder, leaving and went with his friends to go to their class.

classes were boring, to pass the time you wrote in a your experience at school. 'i have no idea why am i having this dream and why this feels extremely realistic. this is officially the weirdest dreams that i have ever had, hoping to wake up soon. i'm tired of smiling and talking to people i don't even know.

then the bell rang, signalling you the end of your class, you started to pack up and a brown haired boy that had it styled upwards with dark brown eyes went to you. it was inuoka, you presumed.

"lev! let's go to practice together!" he said cheerfully making you laugh sheepishly as you scratched your cheek. you didn't want to go to practice, a small salmon haired boy made your life a living hell and the raven haired upperclassman that you had literally pushed you to your limits then there was that really mean pudding head who kept on insulting your skills.

to be honest, you just really wanted to wake up. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ after spending a week in switching bodies of whoever this lev haiba person is, it started to make sense to you both. it wasn't a dream. you guys were literally switching bodies every other day.

you pieced together the notes and led to the conclusion, leaving a piece of paper with your explanation on the desk for lev to read. and he did, he replied with a confused response saying that it was almost impossible for it to happen. but it somehow made sense, not being able to remember what happened on the day before you two were returned to your normal bodies.

but it was the only logical explanation that you had to except. and so, you and lev came to an agreement on setting rules for each other, what to do and what not to do. but somehow, the two of your got on each others nerves on a daily basis by breaking the rules for each other.

'ABSOLUTELY NO SWEETS AFTER 6 PM'

'NO SPENDING MONEY'

'MIND YOUR SKIRT'

'ALWAYS GIVE ALISA A KISS AND A HUG EVERY MORNING'

'DO YOUR ASSIGNMENTS'

it was frustrating at first, once you found out that lev made a mistake by breaking a rule you sought out to get revenge on him. then it became a full out war between the two of you, constantly drawing and writing words on your bodies as a reminder for each other before going to bed.

you once drew a dick on his forehead with a permanent marker and you threatened him that if he drew one on yours, you'd ignore his sister for the whole day, so you had the upperhand knowing how weak lev was for his sister.

but despite all that, he also wrote you notes on what you should do to take care of your body better, and in return you would bake sweets before going to bed so that he and his sister can have something to snack on in the morning. and he enjoyed your cooking skills.

and slowly, the war had ended and both have respected each others rules. you two would write each other letters on how the day went and what to remember and such, and slowly, lev thought that you weren't a bad person after all. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ "lev, you've been glowing these days."

lev whipped his head around to see yaku standing with a water bottle in his hand, the team looked at lev and said their own opinions on yaku's statement.

"now that you mention it, lev does seem to have this kind of glow, like something good has been happening to him these days."

lev looked around his team, confused with a smile on his face. "i'm not sure that i'm quite getting what you're saying." he said, putting his hands up. kuroo smirked and stepped closer to lev with yaku.

"mhmmmm... there's been a skip in your step these days and a different look on your face." kuroo started, closing in on lev with yaku.

"could you be... in love?" yaku continued which caused yamamoto to laugh loudly, finding it completely ridiculous for lev to like someone and lev paused for a moment, holding his chin on one hand.

looking back, he thought of how your face looked, you definitely had a pretty face, round e/c eyes, soft and silky (skin color) skin, (long/short) soft (hair color) hair. not to mention your shy and timid yet friendly and fun personality that he adored, constantly biting back when he barked.

then he thought of the times you would leave him notes to always take care of himself after practice and all the snacks you would prepare before he went back to his body. he did the same to you, but you would outdo him better.

and realization hit him like a truck as a red blush crept on his face while yaku and kuroo's grinned wider at lev's flustered expression.

"holy shit."

1. When did you start self shipping and why?Honestly? I’ve self-shipped ever since I was young. My first OCs were, naturally, self-inserts. I never quite knew what they were called until later, but, I knew that I loved shipping myself with characters because, well, I love them. As people and as characters there was something about them that I just adore and want to appreciate in a way. Self shipping was a way to do that and I super adore it.

2. How long have you been self shipping?GOD UH- Ever since I was 11 I think! One of my first sketchbooks has self ship stuff in it tbh (/v\);;

3. Why do you self ship now?Because I want to show my undying love for my favorite characters and, due to trauma as a child and in the past, I have difficulty expressing my intimate self/emotions to people outside of the three friends I’ve known for seven years. I like scenarios I can control and people who I am secure with. F/Os, for me, represent those ideals the best.

4. Which of your self insert characters is the most developed?GOD my Overwatch chara or my Naruto chara honestly. My Naruto character has existed since the dawn of time so she kind of wins I think. But my Overwatch, in terms of storylines and stuff, has more fleshed out info.

5. Are your self insert characters 100% you or are they an exaggerated version of yourself/leaning toward an OC?100% me! I have a separate sort of hole or mind place for actual OCs, and they do have their own stories and ships and things! My self insters are pure indulgence and are always exactly me.

6. If your self inserts are closer to OCs what are some similarities they have with you? What are some differences?

7. Do you have a ‘type’ when it comes to f/os?-sweats- dON’T DO THIS TO ME DON’T CALL ME OUT- I fall for Assholes with good back stories so easily it isn’t even funny. You’re snarky? You’re shown a lot as an antihero? You’ve killed a few people? You tell me about your reasoning and the pain behind it and i’M IN LOVE WITH YOU.

8. Your top 3 OTPs among your own selfships?McXeen (Mccree x Xena from Overwatch) Is my #1 OTP of all time for myself honestly no one will ever beat it out in rankings!!!

#2 goes to BokuXeenKuro (Bokuto x Kuroo x Xeen from Haikyuu) because god I love my big buff boys.

#3 is hard though it’s either Xena76 (Soldier 76 x Xeen from overwatch) orrr Xenahomaru (Xena x Sesshomaru from Inuyasha) Because both are good.

9. Your top 5 OTPs among others in the community?I CAN’T DO THIS BECAUSE HONESTLY ALL OF MY MUTUALS ARE SO CUTE WITH THEIR SHIPS AND CHARACTERS THAT I CAN’T HANDLE PICKING FAVES. EVERYONE IS MY OTP.

10. Has a roleplay blog for one of your f/os every interacted with you?Nah, not that I know of, but I don’t feel bad about it or nothing! I’m happy in my little indulgent corner. I would scream though if one ever did I swear hoghghg.

11. Are you an artist or a writer in the community? Or do you do something else entirely?I draw a lot and I write a lot? I don’t know if I’d consider myself big in the community (especially bc of the hiatus I accidentally took woops) but I do love doing those things, so, I’ll consider myself both an artist and writer I guess!

12. Name a few of your favorite things about self shipping.I love the confidence it can give people as well as the comfort it can provide. The safety net of F/Os is warm and positive. I like the control you have over the scenarios to make them as comfortable and tailored to yourself as you want within limits. I also love the variety of fluff and smooches that comes out of it!!! Everything about self shipping can be nice if given to the right people ;v;

13. Talk about a positive experience you’ve had with the community.HMMMMM I’ve had a lot honestly! One of them was when a few people just. Messaged me and we started talking about or F/Os and making silly headcanons together and drawing stuff for one another! It was relaxing and super supportive. I adored it ;v;

14. Finally, talk about a few of your favorite self shippers!! (Honestly, talk about as many as you would like!)OHOHOHOHOHOOHHOOHOHOHOH EVERYONE IS SO GOOD HONESTLY.But my fave of all faves will have to be a few people here.

@cheripi is one of my favorites! their art is so adorable and their relationships with theirr F/Os are so detailed and complex I do adore their dedication! I also love how they, like me, self inserts with visuals extremely close/basically themseves it makes me feel comforted that others do it to. they’re such a ray of light i adore themmmmm

@starscloset is another beautiful one! I love her. She’s the one who got me confident enough to make a selfship blog actually! seeing her and the positivity she brought with hanzo warmed my heart and encouraged me to embrace my selfship side of life ;v;

@momomochaccino has been a wonderful friend and positive influence ever since i’ve joined this community! they have such gorgeous art and sweet, positive relationships with their F/Os that I strive to have with my own. They’re super fun to talk and spend time with also!! Just all around a good person

@gamzeeismyboyfriend is an INSPIRATION to me honestly. they have such a healthy relationship with an f/o who not only is one of my favorite characters but just gets so much flack from the community that it hurts . Seeing another person love and cherish gamzee makara makes me so happy for them together ;v; the positivity they share in the community is super important to me!

@lildreamysoul is another person whose been around since i started this blog and, like the others, their positivity is so warming to see on my dash! they helped me to feel comfortable and encouraged more posts and openness to everyone of their mutuals and it warmed me up enough to make more posts.
