August 20 2023 This weekend it’s one year since I send in my request for changing my gender legally. So happy one year, I guess. It is so wild to me it is not longer time since. It seems like forever I’ve gone by Micah. But I loved that this is the case. Sure, authority people still asks if I’d prefer to go by both my names (Micah + my middle name Marco) but better safe than sorry. And yeah, I’ve been called Misha a few times. It is still way better than the alternative (my deadname).

whenever i go somewhere and someone asks me my name[mostly for when it's something involving my legal name], i turn to my mother and go "👀🤲" and she'll answer for me. at this point i dont know that i can say that name myself aha. i may have been called that name for most of my life but it's literally just not me. yes i will turn to look if i hear it called out, but it's not me. i am not in any way connected to it. that is not my name.

So Luca isn’t my legal name, and I don’t go by it in real life atm, but I go by a shortened version of my legal name that’s more gender neutral, and I need to start lying or something when people ask what my name is short for, because for some reason as soon as they learn my full legal name they use that instead of my preferred shortened version 🙃

Like why can’t you continue to use the shortened version, it’s literally easier than my actual name. I hate it here

We don’t even know what name to go by IRL anymore.

Sid had to take time away from being host because life. Our abusive ex is called Syd so we don’t really want that association once we’re finally away from him.

Pine Forest is far too much of an unserious sounding name we don’t want to get laughed at!

Our birth name, Hannah, is too feminine for us and also a lot of trauma surrounds that name so we don’t want to always be called that.

We’ll probably take our mum’s last name which is her grandmother’s maiden name so that’s sorted.

But why are first names so hard to choose??

some good news!! the spanish state's ministry of equality has finally passed one of the most progressive trans laws on the planet, shielded free and universal access to abortion and banned conversion therapy and genital surgery for intersex babies, among a lot of other feminist policies. the minister of equality irene montero gave a speech thanking spain's lgtb and trans associations for helping her draft these legislations. couldn't be more proud!!

November 30 2022 With every day that goes by I get more and more excited for February when I can change my name legally. Then I don’t have to feel like I am lying anymore giving people my chosen name. Soon I will not feel like an impostor anymore. I am still not sure when or how to come out to my family again with my new name or if I should wait until they see it on the birth certificate. I could make a pseudo birthday celebration. Make it like a grown-up gender reveal party. Silly, but fun, hopefully?
