For my Americans out there, here is a map with the safest states for trans folk. These are the states that have the most laws in place to specifically protect trans people.
Tumblr media
Maryland is currently the safest, here is an article about it.

Passing this on from one of my Facebook friends, so maybe we can help Maddie and her wife get somewhere safer. Below is the text from my friend Viki on Facebook:
Hi friends. As many of you know, Florida is a virtual dumpster fire where Trans rights are concerned. The LGBTQIA+ community is DeSatan's pet hate and right now, Trans individuals are his legislation's biggest focus.
The most current update is a law - not a bill, this has passed and will be put into place - that declares sex and gender the same thing. You will not be able to change your gender marker on your legal state identification. Moreso, it's considered fraud if you do. It is literally becoming illegal for my trans friends to be themselves.
Maddie is a good friend and I've known and loved her through her entire coming out process. She and her wife are my People and I hate losing them, but Maddie's safety has to come first. And right now the only way to guarantee she remains safe is to get her out of this state. Those of us who are able to stay and keep fighting can and should but that isn't the case for everyone. On top of needing to relocate to a blue state, they'll also need to house the both of them while they find new work, transportation if they're temporarily separated (they currently share a car), and just anything that might get them on their feet.
I know this is a hard time economically. I personally am counting coins. But anything that can get the word out counts.
And vote. I know we will never have a Perfect Candidate. There will never be one person everyone can agree on. But we can't keep letting the administrations we have continue or there won't be a common ground to launch from.
Please reblog this or share it anywhere you can so Maddie and her wife can get out of Florida and go somewhere safer for them both.

I immediately lost multiple followers when I reblogged a post supporting a trans person.
Let me make this very clear:
Transphobes are not allowed on my blog.
TERFs are not allowed on my blog.
Trans-exclusionary sports participation supporters are not allowed on my blog.
Unfollow me now if those apply to you, because I am trans and i have no respect for you as a person. Go. Away.

next week, there’s going to be an anti-trans and anti-queer protest in tkaronto/toronto, at queen’s park.
if you have any queer and trans friends in the area, please let them know you are an ally and be there for them when they need you.
there has been a large influx of anti-trans politics in tkaronto/toronto in the past couple of years, and queer people in this city need safety and support

I collected your hormones what now?
also, you should put these somewhere where you’ll remember ‘em next time.
hmmm.. now you should go call your local representative (if in the usa) and tell them to vote no on the protect children’s innocence act, which would prohibit gender affirming care for minors.

Stop scrolling!! Please read!
Alright, I wish I could find something for THIS year online, but I can’t. There are posters on Chicago for a protest for trans rights on MARCH 31st AT GRANT PARK.
It’s not like Chicago/Illinois needs this as bad as other states right now, but protesting is still important as long as it gets media coverage. This is just me trying to help make that happen. Please come out to support us if you live near, and boost this if you can’t. I’ll try to find the poster, i just forget where I was when I saw it.
Thanks y’all, and stay safe!

To my transgender siblings, and our allies: don't go telling your friends, close old friends or new ones, that someone you know is transgender.
I'm not talking about outing someone here, because obviously that's bad. It's not your coming out. If someone comes out to you, don't go telling people, including people you know they don't know. You could be painting a target on their back they're not prepared for.
What I am talking about here is just mentioning A friend is trans. Saying you've met trans people before is fine, but the moment you narrow it down to a friend, you are starting a witch hunt among who of your friends is transgender. People already don't respect transgender peoples privacy. Society teaches we're at best something to oggle at, and at worst a threat to torture and kill. Someones transgender nature isn't yours to disclose, even vaguely.
I need people to understand that if you're an ally, an earnest member of the transgender equal rights movement, or transgender yourself, that trans people are coming under serious threat. If someone comes out to you, keep that secret safer than Frodo did the One Ring. Tell no one. If someone asks or alludes to anything about a friend, pretend you don't know what they're talking about. Non-passing or passing, just keep their truth quiet to people who don't know.
Please, protect transgender people. Protect your friends. Keep their identity secret, keep it safe, unless they tell you it's safe to.

The project 2025 thing is very real. Make sure that this doesn’t happen with all your might. It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t affect you, it will. Read the rest of the poem. It doesn’t matter because you will be affected in some way, at some point. Google the ten stages of genocide and figure out which one we’re at, then which one we will be at depending on you stopping this or not. If that isn’t enough to convince you, maybe some empathy will? Feel some empathy for trans and queer youth who can’t get out. If it does happen be prepared to run or fight the fight you should have fought earlier. I promise you, fighting now is much easier than fighting then.

OK so...
If someone were to do a sort of travel blog that did reviews of different cities/hotels/attractions/etc on the basis of accessibility, diversity, minority safety, and whatnot, would that be something people want? If so, what categories would you want this person to review based on (eg wheelchair access, safety for trans people, number of confederate statues)?

"a trans person just killed people! we have to stop all the trans people!"
you only care that their trans not about the people they killed, not about the people that lost their loved ones and not about the damage and crime that they caused/committed, no you only care about how their trans and that shows that you don't actually care about people you only want to erase trans people.

Can you please help me get the word out about trans woman being persecuted in the UK? They are right now tarring Scarlet Blake up for crimes she DID NOT commit. It’s instead fabrication by an ex taking PRIVATE CONVERSATION that was venting way out of proportion. This is very similar to what is done against so many trans women who everyone itches to see in the worst light.
i don't know much about uk politics, but i'll certainly publish this.
