Here's the Miyuki-chan in Wonderland I promised ya. The format is ISO so that I could copy the DVD directly, including the menu and extra features. This is one of the more 'barebones' releases from ADV, but it does include the PDF of the paper dolls, which wasn't included in Tokyopop translation of the manga. I'd advise playing it in VLC for delicious DVD delights.

Given
I started watching this about a week ago and I’m on episode 10 as of now. First, I heard it was about an anime about music. I was interested. Then, I heard it was a boys love anime and I was interested even more so. I’ve never watched a boys love, unless you count Yuri On Ice. My favorite anime so far is Haikyu and everyone makes jokes about how it’s gay. So, since it’s been so long since I’ve seen Yuri On Ice, part of me thought it was just going to be soft boys in a band, but I was wrong LOL. This show literally gets gayer by the episode. It’s really sweet and while not everything is relatable in the show, it’s very real. The relationship being built by the band is really nice too. I’m getting more into practicing music as time goes on and this was perfect watch for the time period i’m in. Super cute show and I recommend, even if you’re not crazy into music. It’s a sweet romance for the MC and since i’ve got like 3 more episodes, maybe even for some of the side characters 👀 I hope so. I’m almost more invested in their story tbh haha.

I have not gushed about this anime in a long while, so here we go!
Very pretty animation and design
Each character has a unique personality with their own struggles in life that you get to learn a little bit about
Heavy real-life topics are handled in a manner that validates the issues without making the anime as a whole feel too heavy
Friendships and bonds form as they all work hard to better their soft tennis skills
Different body types and shapes
All the kids, portrayed as bullies or not, are not portrayed as bad people and you get insight into their life, why they act how they do
There is a FtM Transgender character and a Non-binary character
This anime was cut short and might not be able to finish unless we start talking about it. People need to show that they like/love this anime enough to want a second season. This means we need conversations, we need fanart, we need fanfics, and we need to watch it over and over again on Hulu, Funimation, and/or Crunchyroll! Not illegally, because that doesn't get seen by the companies that we're trying to convince to buy another season of the show.
So let's hop to it guys. This show has been way better than an escape for me, it's been a safe place. With how many real-world topics and struggles are represented in the show, there's a good chance it could be a safe place for you as well.

(clickbait hehehe)
Okie random but I just imagined how Ash must be terrified of camera's click sounds bcs of his childhood trauma but like Eiji wants to photograph him all day so he disables skeuomorph on his phone to secretly take Ash's pics. Ofc Ash knows & he chooses to act like he doesn't but Eiji knows he's acting but stays quiet anyway

SO ANYWAY ITS A MAGICAL GIRL SHOW/ DRAMA WHERE BEARS TURN INTO HUMANS TO INFILTRATE AN ALL- GIRLS SCHOOL TO FIND ONE BEAR’S CHILDHOOD FRIEND/CRUSH. BEARS AND “BEING EATEN” IS A METAPHORE FOR ACCEPTING YOUR SEXUALITY AND HOW WE FETISHIZE GAY MEDIA BUT HATING IT IN REAL LIFE IS LIKE HOW WE LOVE TEDDY BEARS BUT WILL NOT HESITATE TO CAPTURE AND KILL A REAL BEAR. KUREHA SPENDS THE ENTIRE SERIES STRUGGLING TO ACCEPT THE FACT SHE’S A LESBIAN BECAUSE SHE WAS RAISED TO KILL BEARS. ITS CREATED BY THE GUY WHO DIRECTED THE UTENA MOVIE SO YOU KNOW ITS GOOD ANYWAY IF YOU WANNA COME OVER I CAN SHOW YOU THE FIRST FEW EPISODES - -

Queer manga I'd like to see adapted
So there's definitely a lack of queer anime out there, so I wanted to talk about three that I think would make good anime. (Note: I realized all these are mainly centered around mlm relationships, so... take that as you will!)
Blue Flag
Tumblr media
Blue Flag is one of my favorite romance manga that hasn't been adapted into an anime, and I think it seriously deserves one. It's honestly a love triangle, but one of the only series I've seen that actually does a triangle instead of an angle and does it well. It follows Taichi, a high school third year who is growing apart from his childhood best friend, Touma. Things sort of change when Futaba approaches Taichi due to her crush on Touma. The two become closer, and unbeknownst to them, Touma is gay and in love with Taichi. And as a bonus, Futaba's (female) best friend Masumi is in love with her, too!
Blue Flag is ultimately about navigating those confusing feelings of love in that weird transition between childhood and adulthood. While it's not a complicated premise, it's a beautiful, full tale of romance and friendship that would make an incredible anime if adapted fully. This is one I truly hope will get an adaptation someday.
Go For It, Nakamura!
Tumblr media
I know this is kind of a weird one to think would fare well as an anime, but with the success of Komi Can't Communicate and anime with similar structure, I think this one would do well! Go For It, Nakamura! follows Nakamura, a shy high school boy who is completely in love with his classmate, Hirose. It's an episodic comedy with many elements that parody BL, all while celebrating other elements of it.
Nakamura is such a lighthearted read, and if it were a bit longer (another volume, maybe?) it would make a great episodic comedy anime. I honestly think it may even open up the BL genre to people who would've never considered it before. (Such as my brother. He would like this one!)
I Hear the Sunspot
Tumblr media
Okay, I know this one got a live-action movie adaptation, but when I read it I just kept thinking of how pretty it could be animated. It follows Taichi (I know), a cheerful college student, and Kohei, who struggles with hearing loss. Taichi is able to break through Kohei's shell, and the two of them start this more than friends less than lovers relationship.
Besides the fact that it's a great manga and it's always nice to have more disability representation in anime, I think it would just look so pretty as an anime. I kept imagining a softer color palate with lighter animation, similar to something like Sweet Blue Flowers. I just think it would be so pretty.
Bonus: They should adapt Harukaze no Etranger (continuation of Umibe no Etranger), especially since the best character doesn't get introduced in what was in the movie, and I want to see him.
So that's all I had on the top of my head. Please give any titles that come to mind that would make great anime! (I will use these as recommendations...)

Y'all didn't tell me there was a Cherry Magic! anime!
I adored the live action series. It was so, so sweet. And this show 100% fits with my desires for a show to start with a silly premise and make it work.
To be clear the full title of the show is Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!
I can't accurately describe to you how possessed I felt after learning the title of this show. I think I watched the entire series in a day. It was hard to stop. This series is so tender and sweet.
Had to renew my Crunchyroll subscription to watch the anime (send me anime recs please). The anime is only six 20 minute episodes, so I'm expecting a distilled version of the live action.
I'm only 2 episodes in, and the fuzzy warmth is still there, though due to the shortened form the angst has less time to attack me. There are also less shots of cooking and eating (probably for the best, I'm back on my diet and these shows always make me so hungry).
I love Adachi and Kurosawa so much. They are both so kind-hearted. Kurosawa is so, so gentle with Adachi and sees all the good things about him that are overlooked by everyone around him, as well as Adachi himself.
It's like hitting a bullseye in what makes romance stories work; feeling seen, appreciated, and loved. The mind reading aspect deepens this, and gives the viewer a level of transparency that isn't common in romance.
A beautiful, warm, fluffy show. ❤️
(And no I haven't recovered from Yuri!!! On ICE! Has anyone?!)
