“ YOU SLEPT WITH THEM ? ” DELFINA’S question is delivered in a shrill, piercing shriek as she jabs a finger in kashton’s direction. “ i knew it ! i knew you liked them. ” her tone turns triumphant and she crosses her arms over her chest and affects a standoffish pose. “ i can’t believe you. ” actually, she can. she’s noticed that the sexual tension between her boyfriend and their friend has been building for weeks now, but hasn’t said anything about it. mostly because the same sexual tension has been building between her and the very same friend for equally as long. so, she’s not shocked. and despite her reaction, she’s not all that mad about it, either. intrigued, maybe. but not mad.

“ I SLEPT WITH THEM ? ” KASHTON questions, arching an eyebrow as an amused smile plays on his lips. “ what about you, del ? ” he, too, isn’t surprised to hear that his girlfriend and their friend have been hooking up behind his back. he’s noticed the looks they share. the way they brush against each other when they think he isn’t paying attention. in all honesty, he’s only surprised that it’s taken this long to come out. “ we’re both sleeping with them. i fail to see how that’s a problem. ” he tilts his head to the side and glances from their friend to his girlfriend and back again. “ actually, it’s not a problem at all. it’s an opportunity. ”

Very Random Music Post

Hey guys! Back again. This weeks post are gonna be a little different. So this week as you guys may know was thanksgiving! I was out of school so I went on vacation to the beach and on my first day there I went to the mall. It was really packed and crowded because it was Black Friday and the lines were long. I was able to get into the some of the stores that I wanted to go to but not all. Anyways some of you are probably wondering what this has to do with music so I’ll go ahead and get into that! Well I was in books a million because that was one of the stores that the mall had and while in there searching for books I saw the bargained book section, which are books that have very low prices, and I saw a book called the Big Book of BTS. Y’all, I just had to get that book. Who was I to deny myself of having a BTS book?! Anyways if you know me by now you know that I absolutely love Love LOVE BTS so seeing this book excited me. I read the whole thing in the car. Ok that’s all I wanted to say. Buy guys!

I did the Exterior design for the Dinostop set in the Mitchells vs the Machines. It was a challenging assignment as the set had already gone through multiple artists before it landed on my desk. My Final version is influenced heavily by an earlier version done by my boss, Production Designer (and genius) Lindsey Olivares, as well as by the hilarious story boards from Head of Story Guillermo Martinez. The Director, Mike Rianda as constantly pushing me to exaggerate the Dino designs to make sure they retained the comedic impact of the Boards. Its amazing how much back and forth there was to make sure this set was stupid as fuck. Had a blast doing this full painting as well as all of the bits and pieces.

Summary: After being gone from Gotham for almost a decade you are forced to make a return. You decide you'll return only on one condition: to help the city as best as within your power...

Chapter 1 Introductions / First Meeting

Thursday, October thirty-first ...

The quiet hum of city traffic and distant sirens. You'd forgotten the energy Gotham brings especially at night. It has been a couple of months since you moved back to Gotham and you're still not used to the feeling you get every time you step out your door and into the public world. You were born and raised here through most of your childhood. It wasn't until your mother got extremely ill towards the end of your middle school years that your father had the family move to Metropolis to get the best medical care for her.

Your father is the owner of the biggest pharmaceutical company in Gotham, (Y/L/N) Laboratories. Also secretly known as one of the biggest producers of the drug, Drops. As you grew older you slowly realized how truly money and power-hungry your father was, how he allowed his company to produce so little medication that would actually do the people of Gotham good. Your older brother became a product of your father's failure as a decent human being, leading him to become a Drop-Head and get submitted to rehab as far away from the family as possible so your father wouldn't have to deal with him. Even worse that meant that the burden of a functional successor landed on you. Your dreams of becoming a doctor in Metropolis torn away from you with little remorse. Escorted from your college campus and returned to your home to find your bags already packed by one of the maids ready for you to go back to Gotham to oversee the company's most valuable branch there all on the same day. You argued and fought to stay, you wanted to stay close to your mother as she was still in such a frail condition. You didn't want to have anything to do with this company that did the opposite of help people. Your cries and pleas fell on the uncaring deaf ears of your father. Once it set in that you had no choice, you were powerless in this matter, you had a flaming resolve ignite within you. You begrudgingly agreed to leave Metropolis but made a silent vow that if you're going to return to Gotham you are going to do actual good. You'll slowly but surely take full control of the company ridding it of all the filth hidden by lies and re-making it into something better. Once you arrive in Gotham you realize this plan will take a long time, years maybe. You were itching to do some actual good in this city though. That's when you decided to put the little skills you had to use, asking around where it mattered until you got an unexpected call from Lieutenant James Gordon a few weeks later. They are in desperate need of people and you seemed to be a valuable asset to have as a consultant on his team. You immediately accepted explaining that you would offer your services for free, with no payment needed as the last thing you needed considering your family name was more money. It had been a few days since the phone call but tonight was the night. You got your first emergency call from Gordon just a few moments ago and you just got into the backseat of your car giving your driver the address to Mayor Mitchell's townhouse...

Batman is moving down the dimly lit hall following Gordon. The hall is filled with hushed cops now; some turn as they notice his presence, staring with a harsh edge. Batman strides past, unfazed. Once they reach the entrance to the study a uniformed officer steps into Batman's path in alarm.

"Whoa whoa whoa, police action." The young Officer enforces. Batman glares down at the officer's hand on his chest. Gordon turns and steps in.

"He's with me, officer."

"Are ya kiddin' me, sir?" He asks in disbelief "You gonna let him in here?"

"Martinez," Gordon's voice assertive now"Let him through."

With a defeated exhale the officer removes his hand off Batman and steps to the side as Batman continues to stare at him. Batman continues to follow Gordon into the room moving past the officer as he hears him call him a "goddamn freak."

Batman moves to take in the sight of the body from a slight distance to the side, investigators turning in utter shock at Batman approaching with Gordon. Mayor Mitchell lies dead in a chair, head mummified in duct tape. Over his mouth in red, it says: "NO MORE LIES". Gordon tears his focus away from the body to look around the room before calling out into the room "Where is my consultant?" he's met with a second of silence before another voice calls out from the hall in slight panic.

"I'm here, I'm here! Sorry, I'm late!" You rush into the room and up to Gordon. Batman freezes at the sight of you, no one notices but his eyes widen in surprise for just a second. Y/N? Is it really her? Is she back? No, it can't be. Why would she be here? "Had a bit of trouble confirming my credentials...up....front" You trail off towards the end of your sentence as your eyes immediately land on Batman, you come to a stop in your tracks as you eye him from top to bottom in curiosity and slight shock. You've only heard about this Batman but weren't expecting to see him in person especially so soon. You shift uncomfortably as Batman stares right back at you sizing you up as well with his cold calculated eyes. Gordon senses the tension and sighs.

"Y/N this is Batman, Batman this is Y/N." Gordon says as he confirms Batman's suspicions. So it really is you.... wow. That is all he can think of as he continues to take in your presence in silence. "I just hired her as a consultant for my team." You pull on white surgical gloves as you cautiously move toward the body of the dead Mayor.

Passing by Gordon you try to inconspicuously ask "Why is he staring at me like that?"

"Yeah... he does that, you'll get used to it." He replies back in a hushed tone as you. You give a wry chuckle.

"I don't know bout that." You say to yourself. You circle around his chair as you click on your flashlight observing very closely this gruesome sight before you, stopping on his right side as you lean in looking at his head.

"What are we looking at here?" Gordon asks you.

"Looks like we got... blunt-force trauma, lacerations on the head." You swallow hard at this sight in front of you, not quite mentally prepared to see something like this, "He got hit a lot, and hard." You state dryly and you continue observing the rest of his body.

"All this blood's from his head?" Gordon questions.

"Well actually looks like most of it is from his hand." You point to the body's left hand with your flashlight. You move to take a closer look but notice the tall darkness that stands right in front of the body blocking your way around. You both lock eyes as you let out a nervous chuckle, "Excuse me, just gonna squeeze past ya here." You say with a slight tremble to your voice as you move to pass in front of him to the other side of the chair. He makes no immediate move to step out of your way til your shoulder grazes against his chest just slightly; he only takes a step back as he eyes you. You lift Mayor Mitchells left hand up. "Thumb was severed. Killer may have taken it as a trophy?" You state giving your further observation.

"He was alive when it was cut off" Batman's low voice rumbles as he stares at the hand. Gordon and you look back at him slowly, Gordon is appalled, and you are in shock by suddenly hearing him speak. You didn't know he spoke...

You look back down at the hand as realization dawns on you "Ecchymosis..." you and Batman say at the same time causing you to immediately shut up as shivers ran down your spine but he continued on without missing a beat, "around the wound."

"Hell of a case for you to start on your first day huh" Gordon dryly says to you.

"I was born and raised in Gotham, Gordon. Wouldn't have expected anything less." You state with a drained sigh.

A photographer's flash of the camera catches Batman's attention leading him away from the body to survey the area, leaving you and Gordon to speak to one of the detectives about the details of how the murder took place. Batman watches as a Photographer flashes more shots of blood spatter on the framed Maroni Drug Bust headline on the wall, when he clocks a fresh gash in the wood floor as well and goes to examine it. He rises and continues to survey as he makes his way back to you and Gordon.

"You said there was a card," Gordon asks the detective. The detective hands over an envelope to Gordon, he pulls out a Hallmark-style Halloween card. A creepy skeleton smiled behind a wide-eyed owl, tapping his shoulder. Gordon proceeds to read the front "From a secret friend...who?" He immediately flips it open "Haven't a clue? Let's play a game, just me and you...What does a liar do when he's dead?" Your eyes refuse to blink as you take in all the killer's scrawl on this card. Weird symbols are etched at the bottom. Gordon pulls a piece of paper from the envelope which contains even more weird symbols. "There's a cipher too... any of this mean anything to you?" Gordon pointedly shows Batman the envelope. Batman stares at it, struck. But before he can speak a quiet alarmed voice rings out from the hallway.

"What's goin' on here?"

Everyone turns to see Commissioner Pete Savage walk toward the study, seemingly appalled at the sight of Batman.

"I asked him to come, Pete," Gordon tries to defend but is cut off swiftly by Commissioner Savage who is now walking faster toward Gordon. Gordon slowly walks to meet him halfway leaving you to stand there uncomfortably next to Batman. You feel his eyes on you and you slowly look away from Gordon getting chewed out to look up at Batman. His eyes seem to be staring through you though, seemingly lost in thought.

"This is a crime scene, it's Mitchell for Chrissakes. I got press downstairs! You know I cut you a lotta slack, Jim, 'cuz we got history, but this is way over the line!" Commisioner Savage yells very clearly distressed.

Gordon hands him the card; Savage reads in horror when he sees the envelope is addressed: "TO THE BATMAN". The commissioner's anger bubbles even further. "Wait, he's involved in this?!"

"No he's not involv-" Gordon tries to defend but is yet again quickly cut off.

"How do you know? He's a goddamn vigilante - he could be a suspect! Whattaya doing to me? We used to be partners"

"I'm just trying to find the connection, Pete."

Their squabble is cut off by Batman as he quietly speaks out loud to seemingly no one as his eyes suddenly focus back in on you and quickly look away towards the Mayor's body, "He lies still..."

"Excuse me?" The commissioner questions with some bite. Gordon immediately understands.

"The Riddle. 'What does a liar do when he's dead?' He lies still."

Unnerved by all this, Savage looks bitterly at Batman. "Jesus ... This must be your favorite night of the year, huh pal? Happy Fn' Halloween."

An officer appears in the doorway and calls the commissioner's attention stating that the press is ready for his statement. He sighs and nods but before he leaves he turns to Gordon.

"I want him outta here, now!" and with that leaves the room. You move towards Gordon to take a better look at the card but something catches your attention, noticeably making your mood shift to a grim one. At that moment Batman stops making his way out of the room as he spots a bloody footprint, child-sized.

"Oh no," You say as you spot the Mayor's son sitting on a bed in a room across the way. Heart breaking at the sight of him as he stares down, lost, surrounded by cops.

"Yeah, kid was the one that found him." He says to you grimly. Batman follows your gaze to the little boy, the little boy now looking up towards Batman. Gordon comes up beside Batman and whispers "We really gotta go, man."

Batman nods, but stays just a moment longer, staring as he feels the ache in his chest of an unspoken connection he knows all to well to this now fatherless little boy.
