Moonlight lovers is a disaster: part 3
Oh! is it a clown or is just Ivan?
Ivan, Ivan, Ivan... a disaster, a completely disaster. If one thing has taught me this route is to take things humorously. This is one of the worst routes together with Raphael's.

Let's start with the positive points. chapter 1-3. That's it. Everything is good until chapter 4. Then it's stupid jealousy, toxic behaviour...(and when i say toxic i say real disgusting stuff that I don't think people like to experience as a player in a romantic game). Again, another route which could have been a hit, wasted.
They have let escape the chance of him and Eloise talking about the 2010's. When he was human there was a "boom" of musical hits: Lady Gaga's bad romance, rihanna, katy perry... I know he likes metal, but dude he could have been a bridge to create instant empathy with us. He is the character that could have been the most easy to talk to, and instead, he is the most difficult to seriously communicate with.
Ivan was kinda sweet vibes "he was a punk, she did ballet, what more can I say?". Vibe with me. The skater punk boy that OBVIOUSLY plays music and is good at rhythms. That's cool. Honestly, he was an interesting character to develop. We have a torment man who is obssesed with his human life and cannot accept his new condition. Also, he feels extremely guilty about his actions in the past and the present, and has problems to control his thrist.
Having said that, the first two chapters were focus on his inability to selfcontrol. Okay, fine by me. The third has a really cute dancing scene. Everything is okay except Ethan, who is predatory and d i s g u s t i n g (but i'll judge him in his own route to be fair).
But, here comes Constaaaance, how incredible it is that this company is forcing me to feel jealous about a 2d drawing. Nah, seriously I still had hope. I thought: "maybe he isn't in love with her but what she represents. The last link to his human life, his family, his friends, his dreams... everything. That 's why" I thought. So consequently, the game wants us to make him aware about what he truly feels to channel it from a perspective more filosophical. HA!
wHAT aN IDiot i was.
After, a lot of fights, jealousy, irrational and delusional behaviour. It turns out, Constance is super evil and killed him (incredible resolution). And suddenly, the love for her abandons ivan's body. Dude, it evaporates. And suddenly, Ivan understands that he actually wanted to fuck his childhood friend, the one he bullied, yeees. And the one who married his girlfriend.
At first I got angry but then i thought, this is actually super funny (except for the tortuous chapters about jealousy and shit). I mean... in the neutral ending this bag of shit breaks up with us to start dating the friend he never reminded in the past 10 years.
As a queer person I don't desire Ivan in my community. By the rights I don't possess I declare him heterosexual. I don't want this skinny runt inside my group, what a bad representation. Ivan you should learn of Aaron, my bi king.
What can I say? I remember the end and the memories and everything... It's so bad... so bad that I wanna forget. Still, iconic twist. At the end Ethan was right about him.

Thinking about how the Big Four of dark academia really feels like the Big Three of dark academia that a last-minute addition was added onto, not because it’s any less a part of and representative of the aesthetic but because its mood and message differs so greatly from the other three - that last-minute addition being Dead Poets Society. Hear me out as I rant about character types, classism, doing it for the aesthetic, themes, tones, and substance abuse (and, obviously, spoiler warnings for Dead Poets Society, The Secret History, If We Were Villains, and Kill Your Darlings):
Firstly, I want to draw comparisons between who I consider to be the protagonists of each story, focusing a lot on how I feel that each of them has a barrier between himself and another group of people within the story. Starting with the one that I relate to the most and progressing in no organisational order after that, we have from The Secret History Richard Papen, an English major who came from an impoverished old town in California to the lovely little college in Hampden, Vermont on account of loads and loads of scholarships. Fascinated and a bit infatuated with the Greek class, he is able through partly his own talent but mostly dumb luck to join their ranks, only to find out that the people he admired and romanticised are all a bunch of classist, selfish, rich addicts. Desperately wanting to be a part of this group, Richard has to break the financial barrier (as well as the seclusion engineered by Julian) between him and them in order to get in with the “cool kids.” However, this doesn’t work out for him at the end, as he doesn’t even get invited to their bacchanal or Bunny’s murder and yet has to suffer for the fallout of both events. It’s made clear that this is not the kind of life you want to live, and Richard even returns to California after the main body of the book concludes. Allen Ginsberg of Kill Your Darlings is confronted with a similar barrier, although his is less financial (he’s well-off enough to make it to college without scholarships) and more the sort of subcultural difference between the life he left at home and how Lu and his friends live. Just like Richard, he risks and loses it all to gain the affection of this new group, who, just like in TSH, leave him high and dry in the end. Oliver Marks also risks it all for his group in If We Were Villains, although they don’t necessarily abandon him in the same sense and really he alienates himself by taking the fall for Richard (Stirling)’s death. His barrier is also mainly financial, as he ends up having to pay for Dellecher through scholarships and a work-study deal, something which you can tell he is ashamed about (hmm classicism -_-) as he tries to hide it from the rest of the group, who can all afford the school on their own (or their families can). Since this story differs from the rest because it starts off with Oliver already a part of the tightly-knit group, you can’t really talk about him vying for approval as in TSH or Kill Your Darlings, but the sense of him being a part of a slightly different world is still there. Meanwhile, you don’t get this same sense in DPS. I maintain that Neil is the central figure in DPS, but for the sake of this let’s look at Todd, who does have to make his way into the group after it was already formed. Todd’s barrier is not financial but all in his own head: his social anxiety and awkwardness prevents him from initiating a relationship with any of the other Dead Poets. Because he has this different kind of barrier, it’s easier for him to overcome it, and it turns out well for him in the end, while it doesn’t for the protagonists of the other three stories.
Besides that, the other characters also play a role in how DPS feels separate from the other three. All four dark academia stories are about rich kids at their core, but DPS is the only one that doesn’t feel like it’s about rich kids. Why is that? I think it’s because of how they chose to present the characters. In TSH, the whole main cast, essentially, sucks - Henry is full of it, Bunny has all sorts of problems, Charles is an abusive drunkard, not to mention his incestuous relationship with Camilla, and Francis knows about this relationship and is fine with it, even being fine to casually fuck Charles on top of it (and he’s classist as fuck, but that’s a discussion for a later date). You might think, “oh, but Richard isn’t too bad” - yeah, but he did let them all get away with not one but two murders and was only worried about Charles abusing and fucking Camilla because he felt attraction to Camilla himself, so. Anyway, my point is that everyone in the Greek class is either a rich asshole or wants to be like the rich assholes, so that’s not good. There’s a similar thing in Kill Your Darlings where they’re all addicts and alcoholics and people who generally don’t give a fuck about how other people react to their drama and fun times, and you can see how Lu even uses David and later Allen and then throws them both away casually. Yeah, they have a cool vision of revolutionising poetry, but they’re not really characters that one can necessarily relate to, because they’re all just too caught up in themselves. IWWV, too - you don’t see this as much, but it comes out a bit when Oliver hides in shame the fact that he has to work to pay for school. While IWWV has a cast of characters that I can relate to and like the most out of the three I’ve talked about so far, there’s still a little bit of disconnect, an unattainability about them, and it’s clear that they’re all deeply fucked: Richard, before he died, was an abusive asshole, James killed Richard and then not only started mirroring him a bit when he hurt Oliver but then let Oliver while away ten years of his life in prison for Richard’s death (and either killed himself or faked his death), Alexander got even worse into drugs and then presumably got clean but man did he have PTSD from that school year, Meredith is surrounded by men lusting after her and feels lonely, Wren also has PTSD from that school year, and Filippa . . . got into a relationship with her teacher and we don’t talk about this? So while they’re three-dimensional, engaging, and entertaining, they’re all still just plain messed up. However, the Dead Poets aren’t like this. Obviously, there’s Neil’s suicide, but that’s different - it’s not messed up because he was already messed up, it’s messed up because the authority figures in his life (excluding Keating) messed him up themselves, breaking his spirit with the pressure they put on him and with the criticism of his passion. But to the point, in the sense of the characterisation of the main cast, DPS feels different from the other three because the Dead Poets are three-dimensional, engaging, entertaining, and even likeable in a way that the characters from the other three are not. And they’re all rich enough to attend a very well-to-do private boarding school, but they’re not stuck-up and classist, in fact hardly ever bringing up matters of money and even making fun of the Danburrys a bit. They feel more accessible than any other group does, which is what I respect about them.
And last but not least, the message. As far as the moods/tones and themes of the Big Four go, DPS is the only one with any sort of hope at the ending, and the only one with a “true” aesthetic for the characters to chase. The three of the dark academia Big Four all focus on taking something too far and it going horribly wrong - the Greek class gets so into studying the Classics that they have a bacchanal and kill a man and then kill a man to prevent him from telling someone that they killed a man, which leads to yet another man dead and the rest of them unhappy; the Dellecher fourth-years get so into Shakespeare and the roles they play/their typecasts that Richard ends up dead, Oliver ends up in prison, James ends up either dead or faking his death, and everyone else suffers like I mentioned earlier; and in Kill Your Darlings, David ends up dead, Lu ends up in prison, and Allen ends up expelled. TSH has a very bleak epilogue - Richard is confused and yearning, Charles is still drunk and who-knows-where cut off from the rest of them, Camilla has her dying grandmother to worry about, Henry and Bunny are dead, and Francis is forcing himself to marry a woman he doesn’t even like as a person, let alone not being physically attracted to her whole-ass gender, because he would rather make himself miserable than be cut off from the financial support of his family. Donna Tartt leaves us with a depressing, unsatisfying ending - which is all part of the theme, but I’ll get to its relation to DPS later. All in all, TSH’s tone is a very dark one, and its message to not let yourself get so caught up in the aesthetic that you let yourself fall/sacrifice your morals (and also not to idolise rich assholes because they can and will use you and ruin your life), while relevant and important, is far from inspiring or uplifting. Similarly, they go too far in IWWV, pursuing Shakespeare until it fucks them all up, and it has a similar theme to TSH. Its ending, while I like it better than TSH’s, is still quite pessimistic; there’s a little glimmer of possibility there, but not really all that much, and you get the sense that things are never going to fix themselves. In Kill Your Darlings, too, Lu and Allen get so caught up in the New Vision that they let the rest of their lives fall apart around them, and the ending is a bit confused and “meh.” DPS, however, has a lot of hope in its ending. Yes, Neil’s death was sad, and so was Keating taking the fall for it, but despite that, Keating is able to walk out of that classroom with a smile on his face; the ending isn’t entirely sad, it’s bittersweet. DPS’s message is all about carpe diem, seize the day, make your lives extraordinary, and they all presumably go on to do that (except Neil, who died because he was unable to do that). While the aesthetic the characters chase in TSH sort of hinges on their rich assholery, the aesthetic the characters chase in IWWV more or less depends on their isolation and general fucked-up-ness, and the aesthetic the characters chase in Kill Your Darlings is pretty much based on substance abuse and not giving a fuck, all of which lead to their lives being ruined on varying levels, the aesthetic the characters chase in DPS not only doesn’t really ruin their lives and also seems to be much more attainable in a tangible way. While Keating loses his job, he’s able to walk out of the classroom with a smile on his face because he knows that he did what he came there to do - he inspired his students to live life to the fullest and think for/be true to themselves, which is actually a quite healthy aesthetic to strive for, especially compared to the other ones I’ve talked about. The ending of DPS isn’t entirely happy, but there’s so much hope in it, something which the other three lack, and because of that, it feels separate from them.
Anyway yeah. I’m not going to write a big ol’ conclusion because I’ve already taken up so much space, but yeah. Thanks for coming to my TEDTalk lol.

The (plot)holes in the moon - Moonlight Lovers Edition
I'm collecting all the plotholes, inconstancies and mysteries I'm encountering in the game, just for fun and because I like doing it. Since my considerations are usually predated, I've decided that I will update this post from now on.
Please, keep in mind that I'm still playing it, so don't spoil me things.
THERE ARE GOING TO BE SPOILERS. DON'T READ UNLESS YOU LIKE SPOILERS.
♠ The biggest plothole for now is that the Chalice was made into a Chalice in order to not be found dead in the manor and raise suspects among the villagers. BUT THEN (SPOILER CHAPTER 4 - IVAN'S ROUTE)

♠ Plothole number three: didn't Neil and the others implied that "it takes a lot of strenght for a vampire to make another vampire", so they couldn't turn Eloise, but then we discover that Aaron turned Ivan to save his life from death some time ago, lol
♠ Plothole number pfkwpd (<- 4): SO, THEY ALREADY HAD TO HIDE A CORPSE IN THE PAST, BUT THEY HAD TO TURN ELOISE IN A FUCKING CHALICE because of the SuSs. Dudes, you're all mind-controlling vampires: what could possibly worry you? A fine? Also, is jail so insufferable when you're older than the Bible?

“Shh it’s alright love. I can change later. This is about you right now. I’ll be fine.” He pulls you back on his chest and continues rubbing your shoulders. “Now, would you like to talk about what happened, or no? I won’t pressure you, but I’m here if you need me baby.”
You let out a few more soft sobs before wiping your cheeks and lifting your head to look at him. A sense of relief washes over you as soon as you meet his bright blue gaze.
“I just…I was being chased by this monster and he chased me into this house, and when I got into one of the rooms I-“ you’re cut off by a slightly more violent sob, the tears returning your cheeks, your eyes squeezed shut in an attempt to make them stop.
“Shhh take your time, sweet girl. Poor baby.” His lips connect with yours, and linger for a few seconds before he pulls back to give you his attention.
You take a deep breath out and continue to explain to him what happened. “And when I got into this room you were there but…but you were dead” you wail, the tears streaming down your cheeks like a waterfall.
“Oh my sweet caring girl. I’m so sorry you had to think about that. Ohhh poor girl.” He wiped tears from your now puffy eyes to reveal red cheeks. “But I’m here. And I’m not dead, lovey. You don’t need to worry about that.” He places a kiss on your cheek, and begins to rub your shoulders again. “I must say, angel, that sounds an awful lot like the movie we watched tonight…I don’t mean to jump to conclusions, but is there a possibility you got a bit frightened by the movie and that’s why you had this nightmare?”
You nod, ashamed to admit that a silly movie scared you.
He let out a soft chuckle, more pitiful than condescending. “Well why don’t we go back to sleep, baby.”
You lie down on your side and snuggle up closer to him so that his chin is above your head. He puts his arms around you and gentle rubs his thumb against your back, causing a tingly sensation to spread through your body in waves, lulling you closer to sleep. Your eyes flutter, and eventually close. You let out a soft sigh, and he leans his lips close to your ear, tickling the sensetive skin with his warm breath.
“No more scary movies for you, sweet angel. I hate seein’ you all scared.” He whispered. “Sleep now, love. Dream sweet things”. He planted a soft kiss on your forehead as you slowly drifted into a peaceful slumber.

🚨ATTENTION ALL ARTISTS, WRITERS, & CREATIVES🚨 You have ‘til 10/30, 9PM PST TO LET THE COPYRIGHT OFFICE KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT AI 🤖
They want answers on all kinds of questions, like training datasets ingesting creatives' works or the copyrightability of outputs. Here’s a guide I transcribed from my Twitter on how to get started:
On the comment submission page, there is the “Notice of Inquiry” document where the Office literally gives you what questions they want answers to (p12-21) - and there’s a LOT of them. Like, 50 at least. (It’s honestly so prohibitive to the average creative, which is why I made this guide). You DON’T have to answer every single question - just pick the ones that speak to you the most or ones you understand the best! To make it easier, here’s an edited list of questions that are most relevant for creatives
You DON’T have to be based in the US to submit a comment. In fact, the Office asks for examples of how other countries approach copyright & AI (Q#4), so if you live in places like Britain, Japan, etc. that have made major moves in those areas (for better or worse), leave a comment!
Below are some important questions for actors and VAs in particular. Though voice and likeness aren’t generally protected by copyright law, the Office is interested in hearing how AI may be impacted by state laws involving right of publicity or unfair competition (Q#30, Q#31).

📝WRITING TIPS📝
The Copyright Office’s goal is to create the best policy. Be clear, be constructive, and explain the reasoning behind your position. Wherever possible, counter the other side’s arguments. One well supported comment is more influential than 1000 copy paste ones!
Provide evidence - facts, expert opinions, your personal experience. How is AI already impacting you? Your industry? How will it impact you in the future? What are some stories you've seen in the news or social media about AI?
The Office is also VERY interested in any papers or studies relevant to AI and copyright (Q #3), so feel free to include a link to this incredibly informative paper on AI’s impact on artists
Be sure to mention any relevant personal or professional experience and credentials to lend more weight to your arguments, i.e. # of years drawing, years in the industry, major projects, awards won, union membership, etc
Here are some solid comments submitted by artist Kelly McKernan and screenwriter Bill Wolkoff if you want to see some examples
OTHER TIPS (courtesy of my ADHD brain): Schedule a block of time to write your thoughts out! Coordinate a little sesh with your friends! Keep a copy of your work in a separate doc! It’s so important that we get our concerns and ideas out there 💪

Hi! I wanted to ask you if you can help me a little bit with Neil's chapter 10, so that I can get the negative ending. I played it many times, but I only get the neutral one.
Hi! Endings really depend on your cumulative LoM throughout the game, so most times it's not enough to simply replay chapter 10 to get a different ending. The guides at @moonlight-lovers-guides lead to Neil's negative ending but I can only guarantee their efficacy if followed from the first episode. However, in this case I think they may work even if you start from halfway through the route, chapter 5 or 6.

to be completely honest i don't really understand the concept of a tumblr crush BUT if this is an opportunity to brag about how amazing my friends are i will happily oblige! i will endeavor to limit myself to only 5 people, and for those of you reading this whom i did NOT mention my sincere apologies and please know that i love you anyway. i am going to list them below a cut and put my book recs first just so this post isn't fifty miles long lol.
let's talk books! i will read just about anything i can get my hands on, but my favorite genres are urban fantasy, mystery, and historical. i don't read a lot of contemporary books that are only romance with nothing else, but i love jane austen and shakespeare. i also ADORE genre-melding, eg the seven deaths of evelyn hardcastle by stuart turton, which is a sci-fi 1920s murder mystery.
my top 7 favorite books of all time- i originally was going to do five but realized i also would recommend 6 and 7 to literally everyone i know- which i would absolutely recommend to everyone, are:
the book thief by markus zusak (historical; coming-of-age of a german girl during wwii as her foster family hides a jewish man in their basement. this book should make you SOB)
the sweetness at the bottom of the pie by alan bradley (historical mystery; 11-year-old aspiring chemist solves murders in 1950s england)
murder on the orient express by agatha christie (historical mystery; a passenger is found dead on a snow-trapped train. basic premise but i am not exaggerating when i say that this book reinvented the murder mystery genre)
six of crows by leigh bardugo (high fantasy heist; six teenagers are recruited to break a chemist out of prison in order to stop- or maybe start- a magical war)
if we were villains by ml rio (mystery; a shakespeare student at a performing arts conservatory is found dead and his classmates try to decide if they want his killer to be caught)
code name verity by elizabeth wein (historical; a spy and a pilot during wwii are sent on a mission that only one returns from. holy SHIT this book is plot-twisty)
good omens by neil gaiman and terry pratchett (urban fantasy; an angel and a demon team up to stop the 11yo antichrist from starting armaggedon)

@wespers aka tuser weepers... jamie is one of my oldest mutuals and i am so so grateful she's in my life! she has the market cornered on beautiful pale gifsets, is my go-to for book recs, has excellent opinions on just about everything, and actually gets around to consume all the content i bully her into consuming (see: knives out, hadestown, the book thief...). ily jamie you're not beating the theatre kid allegations any time soon. i am also planning to think of something else to bully you into reading/watching/listening to shortly. what about into the woods have you listened to into the woods before. or little shop of horrors. i think you'd vibe with both of them.
@gracelcdomas is another very old and dear friend and is my murdoch mysteries and knives out buddy for LIFE. milo is one of the most upbeat people i know, and i love chatting to them about just about anything. also am ETERNALLY grateful that they will always send me an ask if i rb an ask game. get yourself friends who will enable you to rant about yourself for fun online.

Semi-Obscure Media Whump (part 1)
[A Series of me finding whump scenes from a not well known media]
Name: Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii
Score: 2/5
Would only recommend this for the character whump. The whole story (which has an actually interesting setting, commentary, and characters)  is ruined for me by the relationship between the 2 main leads. Although the ML age is appropriate for the narrative of the story, the romance with the Fl just feels so weird and borderline illegal? The ML is about 11/12 years old and FL (although never specifically stated) is somewhere in the range of 16-18. Although the story is SFW, their relationship is still so weirdly grown up (?). Which is yeah, the ML supposed to represent a child who had to grow up too fast and lost the ability to appreciate the world and became too jaded from the horrors of violence and hardship, buuuut…. For me, the story would have worked with a younger brother- older sister platonic relationship and not just because I am AroAce. Other characters Also, a later chapter contains attempted SA (between the LF and a later side antagonist), so read at your own risk, but this was not something I greatly enjoyed.
Character: Neil
A butler character who is really loyal to the ML and has a somewhat fatherly/older brother relationship with the ML.

Additionally: He also has some emotional and physical whump in his backstoy- comes right after this chapter.

Alright people, it’s serious post time.
We need to have a conversation about the sexualization and fetishization of the ml characters in AFTG, Neil and (to a lesser extent) Andrew, specifically.
We’ll start with Neil, since he’s the one I see this happening with most often. There is so much, and I mean so much, fanart of Neil in skirts and crop-tops and things. Don’t get me wrong, that in and of itself isn’t the problem. Clothing has no gender, it’s not about that. 
The problem comes in when you look at fanart of nearly any other male character in the series (Andrew excluded, we’ll get to him in a minute.) I’m specifically talking about the men who never showed attraction to other men in the books (for the moment, we’re ignoring ships like Kevaaron, Jerejean, etc). Kevin? Nothing. Riko? Nope. Aaron, Jean, Seth, Matt? No, no, no, and no.
There’s a pattern here, can you see it? Neil is made more stereotypically feminine in fanart, and Neil is a man in a relationship with another man. 
Andrew’s problem is a different one, but no less important. Yes, I do see fanart of Andrew in more traditionally feminine clothes, and it’s just as problematic as when it happens with Neil, but it happens far less with Andrew. Take a second to ask yourselves why that is, would you? Neil is described as a small and attractive young man, while Andrew is burly and strong. 
Can you see it yet? Andrew, the more traditionally masculine of the two, faces blatant fetishization far less than Neil, the more traditionally feminine of the two.
Okay, back to Andrew. His character may not be fetishized to the same extent as Neil, but he’s still heavily sexualized.  
Yes, that’s right. Andrew, the same character that was unfairly sexualized by the people he was meant to trust his whole childhood, is now having the same happen in fan content. If you think about that and don’t think it’s fucked, you need to re-evaluate your morals a bit.
The fetishization of same sex couples is a serious issue that expands into more than just book fandoms. It’s a real-world issue, but we don’t have time to delve too far into that. 
For now, just think about it. We know better, we can do better.

Je ne sais pas si tu suis encore l'actu de ML mais Beemoov a abandonné l'écriture de la route de Léandra et Farah par manque de moyens financiers + désintérêt des joueureuses pour ces deux personnages. Je suis un petit peu perplexe mais je préfère ça a du fétichisme à outrance (Coucou Priya et le fétichisme autour du couple de HH et Ewe) et toi tu en penses quoi ?
Effectivement j'ai mis le jeu de côté après l'incendie d'OVH parce que c'est tombé sur une période extrêmement difficile pour moi donc j'ai pas vraiment repris depuis, en fait je crois que la dernière fois que je me suis intéressée au jeu la route de Neil venait à peine de sortir (et rien qu'avoir une route avec lui ça me débectait un peu), j'avais vu un teasing pour la route avec l'un des deux persos féminins je sais plus laquelle est sortie en premier mais c'est tout, du coup je ne savais pas x)
D'un côté je suis pas très étonnée que ce soit les deux persos féminins qui aient suscité le moins d'intérêt, je suis prête à parier que la plupart des personnes qui jouent au jeu sont des meufs hétéro donc si y'a eu des sondages ou quoi c'est possible qu'elles soient arrivées dernières. Beemoov essaie toujours l'inclusivité, est-ce que c'est par bonne volonté ou pinkwashing, voire les deux, on sait pas, mais force est de constater que ça marche pas. Et ça je pense que c'est pas uniquement à cause d'un manque d'intérêt du public. Parce que ok, la plupart sont des femmes hétéro, mais je pense que la majorité d'entre elles n'est pas opposée à la présence d'une route lesbienne et pourrait la jouer sans aucun problème (tout comme ça me gêne pas de jouer des routes avec un perso masculin en tant que femme lesbienne).
Comme tu le soulignes, y'a eu Priya, Hua et Ewe, mais j'ai bien envie de citer Alexy aussi qui a eu ses heures de gloire en tant que mec gay stéréotypé à outrance. Et je pense que le public de Beemoov, de plus en plus, réalise que les représentations homosexuelles dans les jeux de la plateforme sont bancales au mieux, même les personnes qui n'ont a priori pas d'"""intérêt""" à avoir une route lesbienne/un perso LGBT+ de manière générale. Du coup je pense que ça a pu jouer dans le désintérêt des joueurs/euses (y'en a aussi forcément dans le tas qui en voulaient pas en se disant que t'façon c'était que pour les quota/agenda woke du lobby gay machin etc mdr mais bon).
Puis bah c'est un cercle vicieux, à Beemoov ils vont se dire que "ah bah ils veulent pas de la route lesbienne, tant pis on la continue pas", personne va avoir envie d'investir pour écrire des relations homo correctes, du coup celles qui existent continueront de pas plaire au public, donc ils vont pas les prioriser/ils vont les arrêter, et on s'en sortira pas. Mieux vaut faire des routes avec l'antagoniste qui a tué les parents de l'héroïne lol 🙄
(Je sais qu'il y a Uncoven qui a fini par sortir mais je sais pas du tout ce que ça donne, j'avais ouï dire qu'il y avait un perso NB mais j'en sais pas plus)
Quant à savoir si c'est une bonne chose si ça nous évite d'autres affaires de fétichisme, honnêtement je crois que oui tant qu'ils se seront pas décidé à engager des gens qui savent écrire des persos LBGT+ sans tomber dans les clichés, ou même des sensitivity readers dans la phase de bêta-lecture s'ils en font vraiment une (je pense aussi que les conditions d'écriture sont probablement pas idéales, notamment en termes de temps, et ça c'est pas la faute des scénaristes, pour tout ce que j'ai à leur reprocher).
J'ai lu quelques articles de blog du nouveau scénariste d'Eldarya, notamment celui où il "répond" à certaines critiques qui lui sont régulièrement faites sur les épisodes du jeu : j'aimerais prendre un jour le temps d'analyser un peu cet article, mais ce qu'il en ressort c'est qu'il semble très sûr de lui, pour ne pas dire imbu de lui-même lorsqu'il s'agit de son écriture, pas très loin de la condescendance vis-à-vis des lecteurs/trices et parfois bien à côté de la plaque sur certaines critiques qui lui sont faites. Quant à l'une des autrices de ML, je ne sais pas si c'est toujours la même depuis, mais j'avais vu une conférence qu'elle avait animée sur le thème "un otome peut-il être féministe ?" avec pour base ML qu'elle était alors en train d'écrire. C'était très risible et ça aurait mérité une analyse plus poussée ça aussi (je voulais le faire et puis la vie m'est tombée dessus mdr).
Tout ça pour dire que tant qu'il y aura ce genre d'écrivain-e-s aux commandes des scénarios Beemoov, je crois que c'est pas trop la peine d'attendre grand-chose des routes lesbiennes. Et ça me peine parce que Beemoov reste l'un des plus gros producteurs d'otome du pays, ils auraient pu être un vrai moteur de changement, mais comme avec beaucoup de choses concernant leurs jeux, ils ont tout gâché.
Désolée du pavé, je pensais pas que j'allais écrire autant XD
