what made you pick up the current muse(s) you have? I honestly just picked Kagome up after having played Inuyasha, Kikyou, and then Naraku as main muses...The RP group I was in in the ancient and not well-known any longer AOL chat rooms had everyone but a Kagome. So, I made the screen name Kagome ex Miko in 2002 (which I still have as an AOL email to this day) and my miko was born. and--she just stuck with me...and has stuck with me for over two decades to this day.

is there anything you don’t like to write? There are ship games I won't touch with a 30-foot pole, but if I speak truly--I can be up for just about anything, as long as it gets interesting.

is there anything you really enjoy writing? I love a good AU~Those are always fun! And you never know where it'll go or end up. Mostly though, as said, I'm good with just about anything.

how do you come up with headcanons?  Most of my headcanons come through the playing of my muse...Something happens during the game and BAM that's a new HC. Also, I tend to make headcanons that go against the grain of what the majority of the fandom takes as fanon. Like for instance-unlike common fanon, I HC that Kagome's dad was a jackass and left her Mama and her shortly before Souta was born. Also, I HC that Kagome is in fact NOT Kikyou's reincarnation.

do you write in silence or do you play music?  Depends, I multi-task while I write, so sometimes I write while something plays in the background, and sometimes I don't.

do you plan your replies or wing them? I don't plan my replies. The few times I've tried--I never wound up using them. So, winging all the way!

do you enjoy shipping?  I am not a ship whore with my Kags...lmao. Her and Inuyasha are like the only characters I have ever had that I cannot STAND shipping them with anyone else other than each other....and Kikyou. I will not lie. I can, will, and do ship them with Kikyou, too.

i rise from the abyss to offer information on my affiliated verse with @puruh (myself. teehee) which is set within loz canon specifically in botw/totk ... it follows the usual canon i already wrote up in my au page where kikyō is the reincarnation of the white maiden and is a shrine maiden who is tasked with protecting the shrine of resurrection until the champion returns to save hyrule, she is tricked by naraku and ends up dead, buried just outside Kakariko village. a member of the yiga clan steals soil from her burial site and intiates a ritual to bring her back after Link is awoken in order to hunt him down as she was adept at purification and a sort of spiritual magic that the Yiga believed would be enough to kill Link - this fails nearly immediately because's she's simply not the one u want to try to brainwash sorry .. she kills the member of the Yiga clan that resurrected her and ventures off to find herself in the Lost Woods, a protector of the area (and the deku tree particularly) and eventually an aid in Link's search for the master sword following botw, Kikyō maintains her place as a protector of the Lost Woods, but finds herself powerless against the gloom and is overpowered by phantom ganon - wounded and poisoned by the gloom, she makes her way out of the lost woods for help, unaware that link and zelda had gone missing. she is found in her travels by one of the survey teams and brought back to lookout landing, where she meets purah (though she had lived among Impa her in youth, i don't think she was around long enough to have met purah, although she'd have heard of her) purah uses kikyō to study the gloom, as well as kikyō's state of being, as kik awaits yet again the return of the champion of hyrule, so that she might ask for his help in ridding the woods of its affliction

This one is in outline format only, I'm afraid. I haven't had the time to start any new writing projects (as much as I want to). I'm a bit like Doug from Up! when it comes to new story ideas. LOL!

- After failing to secure the Shikon no Tama through Kikyo, Naraku waits for her reincarnation to emerge

- Naraku destroys Kagome’s home and steals her as a baby to raise as his ‘demon’ daughter

- She grows up wishing for a friend, someone like her who understands what it’s like to have their future predetermined for them

- When she turns 18, her spiritual powers fully manifest and Naraku use it as a beacon to summon other powerful demons so he can absorb their powers

- It works until Sesshomaru appears to defeat the all-powerful ‘demon’

- He freezes up when he realizes Kagome is a miko, and she knocks him out with a burst of reiki

- She feels bad about it and takes care of him until he comes to

- He tries to convince her that Naraku is using her and she’s not a demon

- Takes her around the Western Lands to meet other demons so she can see how her power differs from theirs

- By the time he convinces her, Naraku has tracked them down

+ copious amounts of Sess smolder 😉

Hello, vickyvicarious! So, I'm thinking ... Phoenix x Miles in an Inuyasha au. Do you think this is interesting?

"Well, I suppose a mere human like you wouldn't know any better," Edgeworth said, spreading his arms in a smug gesture, "but in fact-"

Phoenix knew he shouldn't do it. He still didn't even understand the power he apparently had, was still reeling from being plunged into such a different reality so abruptly - and now the responsibility of questing after the shards of the jewel he'd broken, along with only Edgeworth for company. The hanyou already hated him, and they were stuck traveling together; there was no need to make things even worse by aggravating him even more.

But... he was so annoying. So condescending and rude and always twisting Phoenix's words against him, and -

"Edgeworth? Hold it."

It was petty, sure, but the abrupt squawk of distress as the red-robed man suddenly fell face first into the inn's table - well, that made up for a lot, in Phoenix's opinion.

I think this AU could be a lot of fun, actually! I initially was thinking of casting people into different roles, but then I got the mental image of Phoenix yelling 'hold it!' and Edgeworth doing the freeze-faceplant thing and cracked myself up, so there we are. It actually could work beyond that, though... Franziska would be perfect for Sesshoumaru, Gumshoe might be her (more reluctant) vassal a la Jaken, Gregory Edgeworth would've been Izayoi, etc. I think Larry, Maya, and Pearl would join as rough Miroku, Sango, Shippo parallels, though their roles don't match up as well and it might need some adjusting. (For example, Phoenix should be Mia's reincarnation, right? But then Maya would rightfully be Kaede, and I'd want her still younger and joining them on their travels so that'd need finagling). Similarly I like the idea of von Karma being the main big bad/Naraku parallel or something but that would remove him as the link between Edgeworth and Franziska. Lots that could still be puzzled over/changed to fit the new characters... but it'd be a fun verse for sure!

💭 What is a headcanon you have about your own work?

... this is a weird one and I am not ashamed of admitting I reached out to you for clarification lol...

Going to do two, one for a specific story and one in general. So like my headcanon for A Kiss to Make It Better is: after Kagome returns any time she gets injured, even if its a bruise because she bumped into something, Inuyasha kisses it to make it better.

In general with my stories then Inuyasha and Kagome will wind up sharing their life together through some twist, either he gives up his centuries for her, her life is extended to match his, etc, but I would always want a world or a universe that they end up spending the rest of their days together as the fates repaying them for their role in defeating Naraku, or just because if its an AU lol. I know there have been stories where he keeps finding Kagome's reincarnation and falling in love again, but I like them having their life together to share after everything they went through.

First thing you've gotta know is that the main four end up in a poly relationship. It's a slowburn kinda thing just like the canon IY relationships

Peter has Inuyasha's doglike mannerisms, but he's actually half cat demon rather than dog. It's implied that his father might have just been demon Garfield

Unlike Kagome, Ray is super into his family's ancestral shrine and all the legends around it. He goes to the well on purpose to investigate and is really excited when the centipede demon grabs him

Egon is just as reckless with his wind tunnel as Miroku, if not more so--he can't resist running experiments on it, even though those experiments could easily turn deadly. He's actually kinda disappointed when the curse is finally broken because he'd hoped to study it more

Sango's backstory is slightly toned down for Winston; his fellow demonslayers are more analogous to war buddies than, like, everyone he's ever known and loved. He also doesn't buy it when he's told the guys are responsible, and rather than initially trying to kill them he decides to join them as soon as he's healed up enough

Janine is in sort of a Kaede-esque role, but since she's much younger and more spry she's able to be a bit more proactive. She's got a bit of that post-Q5 RGB "nurturing" thing going on (because the narrative kinda requires a healer character) but still with her actual personality, so she talks back to the guys while she's patching them up after a battle

Obviously Slimer isn't a fox demon like Shippo; I couldn't find a specific type of yokai that really fit him so he's probably just a random imp-type thing. He didn't get orphaned or anything the way Shippo was, but some bigger badder demons stole his territory, which is why he ends up traveling with the guys

The Ecto-1 is some kind of enchanted carriage that they fly around in the way the inugang ride around on Kirara. It probably isn't sentient but who knows?

Since Gozer isn't motivated by lust or revenge like Onigumo was, their plan is a bit simpler than Naraku's; they need the Shikon jewel to trigger the apocalypse, so they have Zuul possess the village priestess, Dana, so she can bring them the jewel. Peter tries to come to the rescue, but of course he doesn't have his teammates yet and can't do it on his own. He manages to get the jewel away and burn it, but gets sealed to a tree for 50 years for his troubles

Mainly because I can't think of anyone else who'd remotely fit, Walter Peck is in a Sesshomaru-adjacent role even though his motivations are completely different. He wants to steal the Tetsusaiga not so he can use it himself, but because he doesn't trust Peter & co. with a weapon of that magnitude

Unlike the source material where the well only works for Inuyasha and Kagome, all four Ghostbusters as well as Janine and Slimer are able to travel through the well; Ray takes great pleasure in introducing the gang to his aunt. They all end up spending a fair bit of time in the present and really like it there, and at the end of the narrative that's the time period they end up staying in

There's also no reincarnation stuff going on here (the jewel just reappears at random and it's pure luck that they get to it first) but while they're in the modern era Ray builds a device that can track down jewel shards. Similarly, Egon imbues his monk staff with spiritual power so it can scan for demonic energy

Rather than a family member like it was for Sango, it's Winston's girlfriend Tiyah (y'know from the idw comics) who gets brainwashed. When she's finally freed and gets her memories back, she and Winston try dating again for a bit, but things have changed too much and she can tell he's kinda fallen for his teammates, so they have an amicable but still melancholy breakup

A similar thing ends up happening with Peter and Dana. After Gozer failed to get the Shikon jewel the first time, she was freed from possession and got to live out the rest of her life fairly peacefully, so she doesn't resent Peter upon resurrection like Kikyo did Inuyasha. But he's still got survivor's guilt on his end, because from his perspective he still failed to protect her. Dana kinda has to spell it out that she doesn't intend to drag him down to hell with her and that she has in fact moved on

Because of the aforementioned lack of reincarnation stuff, the final climax is also different; all four Ghostbusters get trapped in the Shikon jewel, all within different illusory worlds without the others in them, which they each break out of by remembering each other's existence and wanting to see each other. But it's Janine who actually manages to get them out of there and permanently destroy the jewel

When Peter's demon blood takes over, his appearance shifts to somewhere between how he looked the time he got possessed in RGB and when he got possessed in the comics. On the night of the new moon he turns into regular Bill Murray (haha just kidding.... unless?)

If jujutsu kaisen world would have soulmates that have each others names written their wrist, what would happen to sukunas s/o when he’s in itadori’s body?

This is such an interesting thought! Okay, let’s think this through. We have two things to consider here – the mark on the s/o’s body of Sukuna’s name and the mark on Sukuna’s/Itadori’s body of the s/o’s name.

I’m assuming that before Itadori ate Sukuna’s finger and Sukuna was reincarnated there was no mark on the s/o’s wrist (think: Sukuna in his bound state was not available as a soul mate because he wasn’t “alive”). So as soon as Sukuna is reincarnated the mark appears on the s/o’s wrist.

Considering the nature of soulmates and the fact that Sukuna and Itadori currently both reside in Itadori’s body with their souls there could be a couple things happening:

1 – depending whoever is currently in control over the body, the mark appears or vanishes.

It does sound like an easy way out, but it’s a possibility

If I was writing a fic and had little to no nerves left, that’s totally what I’d do… but I have my problems with that and I’m going to tell you why: there is no clear cut as to who’s in charge of the body – sure most of the time it’s Itadori but Sukuna is constantly there on stand-by. I mean, casually popping up as a mouth to give uncalled for comments? totally in control of the body; which leads me to my 2nd point.

2 – how much in control is Sukuna of the mark as such?

I’m going with the assumption here that it’s full on soulmate AU setting so no one can actually do anything about their soulmate’s name tattooed on their wrist. You may try covering it up with make-up but it’ll most likely shine through and stuff. So, even if Sukuna wanted to rip the skin off his wrist, it’ll just appear all over again (much like the spider scar of Naraku in Inu Yasha (anyone? :’D))

Thinking that he can totally let his mouth show up wherever on the body at whatever time he pleases and we have yet to see Itadori do shit anything about that, Sukuna is probably able to let the mark appear volitionally. Still, since it IS originally Itadori’s body there may already be Itadori’s very own soulmate tattoo on the wrist, so two names written over each other then, if Sukuna wants to do that? Maybe…

I won’t discuss the several possibilities opening up about the mark being on one’s dominant arm or so but I will raise the point of Sukuna canonically having 4 arms.. so given that Itadori only has two Sukuna’s mark may just not be on ‘existing’ body parts Itadori’s body has to offer? anyways...

3 -  lastly, though, my hot take:

I think that when Sukuna takes over completely, the mark will become visible along with his other tattoos. I also think that Sukuna doesn’t mind the mark whatsoever and will display it proudly, not that he actually thinks something as foolish as a soul mate actually exists for him (who could even keep his attention for that long, am I right?), but he’s at least intrigued.

Finally, I think depending on the amount of Sukuna’s fingers Itadori’s eaten the mark will become more and more visible on Itadori’s body and there’s nothing Itadori can do about that, as he’s yet to show an affinity to control his body like Sukuna does.

Endless Forlorness Made me Numb

A/N: so @fandomplethora and I were talking about Mo Dao Zu Shi AUs. And I was like "nooo, I'm not gonna work on my Sesskag version. I have too many WIPs already". You know, like a liar. So here's my MDZS au for Sesskag🤣 it happens during the course of the canon-timeline, I guess before Final Act. Sooo yeah. I hope you enjoy whatever the hell this is🤣🤣🤣

Kagome watched with pursed lips as the last of the sun set over the horizon. Gilded rays fluttered over the earth, streaming across the trees and grass like rivers of fire. Warm. Beautifully and utterly warm. The dying sunlight drenched her skin, and she tilted her head back—trying to drink in it's comfort. 

Trying to ignore the pressing cold digging its way into the edges of her senses.

Sunset's birth left a wake open for the creatures she'd come to dislike and maybe even hate. Soon she knew the faint pale wisps of the Soul Stealers would come into view. They would approach but never broach, as if taunting the unspoken agreement of distance. Time and time again, they teased the limits, dancing along the edge of her sights until she spun around. In the back of her mind she wondered if it would be worth it to just fork her spirit over to Kikyo. The undead priestess deserved a life, free from trickery or deceit. Something pure—

Only caught by the ascended.

After all, before her egregious turn to...what Kagome liked to think of as the emo rebellious phase, Kikyo had been rather fair and just. The death dealt to her an unfair blow by fate into the hands of a psycho spider demon.

But as the thought began to teeter close to the cusp of action, Sango's voice called her from their campsite and the idea dissipated.

Still. 

That darkened patch in the back of her mind, the one that hid behind bright smiles and dazzling sapphire eyes, pulsed. It reached out and brushed against her reiki, causing the edges to crumble to dust, unreplenished. Not that Kagome knew.

It wasn't as if anyone were helping her cultivate her priestess powers. So if she felt a bit more fatigued or a little more drained, she blamed it on the fact that Inuyasha was nowhere to be seen in the camp. Although she hadn't expected to see him. With the Soul Stealers in close proximity, they always chimed his cue to leave.

The passing scenery is going to collapse—

Cold wrapped her mind and complete midnight gripped her reiki. She cried out for help but no one could hear. 

They didn't need her. Just a jewel-shard detector.  They didn't want her. Just a lesser reincarnation.

—along the obsequious side.

"Oi, Kagome," Inuyasha's voice drew her from her sleep-deprived autopilot. "Can't you pick up the pace?"

Her brow twitched and she tried to find a good reason to not "Sit" him then and there. But her chest heaved and the exhaustion washed over her, and she acquiesced. Today was neither the time nor the place. As their group moved forward in the direction of the next Shikon jewel piece when the hanyou had picked up scents of Sesshomaru traveling their direction. In a bout of stubbornness, he refused to change course. Insistent that if his half-brother wanted to fight, then he wouldn't shy away.

Kagome's brow rose as Sesshomaru’s own little group met up with theirs. 

Rin perched happily on Ah-Un's back, Jaken in tow, and the proud daiyoukai at the front—the little quartet brushed passed them as if they weren't there. Other than the pleasant wave and hello Rin shouted in their direction, it was almost like they didn't exist.

Almost.

As they continued on, Kagome shivered as the sensation of Sesshomaru’s youki swept over them. It probed with an innocent inquisition that was disarming. She wondered why he was searching to change the hidden. But in the moment that she detected his power, it eased away and left them.

"What an asshole, he probably just came around to show-off," Inuyasha huffed.

Kagome wondered if that was the case. The full youkai had been searching for something. But what? 

She felt herself going to the dark spot in her mind, wondering if she took hold of it and reached out—would Sesshomaru’s presence return? Was this darkness, this strange thing, was this what he looked for? Kagome felt half inclined to try. She wanted him to turn around.

To notice that she felt…

Miroku called out that he noticed a dark aura from the north, something suspicious and chilling.

Kagome sighed and supposed that it didn't matter how she felt. Hitching her backpack onto her shoulders, she closed her eyes and sifted for that familiar feeling of the sacred jewel. While she wasn't sure, something stirred her heart in the direction the monk had pointed to. 

With a triumph smile, she hopped up to the front next to the half-demon. "I'm not 100% sure, but I think there's a shard in that direction."

That pleased Inuyasha enough. "Alright! Let's get a move on then."

They made camp a couple miles out from wherever they were headed next. A heavy dread had covered the little campsite, the nearby evil seeping close enough to have everyone on edge. Inuyasha and Miroku both kept a vigilant watch neither one comfortable to rest. Sango helped keep Shippo and Kirara calm enough to doze into a restless sleep. Kagome stared off into the distance. The Soul Stealers were in the opposite direction of the unholy aura; wandering, looking.

But unlike the previous night where they had toyed with the notion of trying to take her spirit again, their movements differed. Unorganized and haphazard—the ghostly creatures meandered in confusion.

Heart pounding against her chest, Kagome couldn't help the small smile wiggling its way onto her face. In her mind's eye, she cupped the darkness more. After all, it had swallowed her reiki whole, hiding it from even Miroku's detection.

It protected the treasure by throwing away the guidance everyone depended on.

The middle of the night sung out to her and she awoke on a cold sweat. Someone was crying. But everyone had fallen asleep. Miroku and Inuyasha seemed fitfully sleeping at best, while Sango and Shippo curled in for warmth against Kirara's warm side. The fire-cat however, glanced at her with worried large eyes. 

Kagome hoisted the holy bow and arrows onto her shoulder. She gave an appeasing pet the demon's nose.

"Don't worry, I'm just going to investigate," she murmured gently. "Something's off. And I want to make sure we don't walk into a trap later."

Kirara gave a low growl but she did not move otherwise.

Kagome smiled and snuck forward. The morning had yet to start, so the air felt frigid and moist. Dew just barely started to accumulate on dark forest and heavy grass. Pushing her way through the underbrush, the inner compass in her chest pointed the direction she needed. Not to mention the voice she'd heard began to cry louder. Words still weren't quite comprehensible but the sentiment was there.

The forest started to scar away, replaced by shale and growing rigid crags. Heavy mist permeated the area more. Kagome drew her bow and crouched low, still persisting. The crying started to take on a form.

 Noise of rain. It wept. Noise of rain your footsteps cry.

And suddenly just like that, Kagome spun around, arrow ready to shoot. Naturally,  Naraku stood behind her—his arms behind his back, his face pensive.

"Kagome," he greeted, voice heavy and hesitate.

Her brow cocked. "Naraku. What do you want?"

Noise of rain—

"What are you doing here so far from your watchdog?" He asked, still nothing but curiosity and even perplexity radiating off of him. 

—your footsteps cry.

"Something called me," she whispered.

The spider hanyou's crimson eyes narrowed and he walked away. "Follow me."

As they trekked, the mist began to seep with a type of miasma, but for some reason... It didn't hurt her. Shady, inky tendrils looped slow through the air as they trudged upwards, following the rise of the mountains.

"I found this place, yet it confounds even me." Naraku drawled, dark hair wavering. "There is some type of life. But it refuses to interact."

"Can you blame it?" Kagome bit back.

He chuckled darkly.

They reached the peak. 

Below them an infinite spiral of darkness. Except this time not one voice cried out to her. They all whispered and unfurled. They all heard her. 

They reached for her.

"What's down there?" She murmured. 

"As far as I can tell, these are burial mounds." Naraku hummed. "Any one place you dig, there are bound to be bones."

The darkness over her reiki swelled. Kagome trembled.

"The miasma here is not my doing," Naraku continued. "It's not poisonous. Just resentful. It's quite the odd place."

She reached out her hand and the voices smiled. "You are wanted here. Please help us here. This is the end of all lies."

"I don't think it's resentful," she whispered. 

"Interesting theory," Naraku's voice curved and drawled. "Would you like to test that?"

Before she could ask what he meant, his foot collided into her back. She screamed as her body tottered over the edge. Loafers slipped, hands grasped air, and her body tumbled into the abyss' embrace.

Weak and limp she couldn't move her limbs. Every fiber, every bone, everything must have shattered at the impact's drop. Her lungs heaved painfully. The voices giggled and suddenly they were no longer begging but controlling. They grabbed at her, trying to tear her apart and reach for the reiki within her soul.
