Why is it so hard to change routines? I want to create a new daily routine so badly, but it’s so hard to break old habits. I know the ideal solution is to take things step by step, but I feel like it’s so hard to even get myself to make that step. I want to start a healthier routine, I’m so sick of this one I’m stuck in. It’s exhausting and I don’t want to live like this anymore. Ever since COVID and quarantine, I’ve become so out of shape and I don’t move around and do things as much as I used to. Granted, I was never in the best of shape anyway, but I was still actively moving around more and walking waaayyy more than I do now. I’ve been willing myself to get up and take daily walks and I’ve failed every time. It’s always some excuse. Oh it’s raining outside, I can’t. It’s way too hot outside, I can’t. I want to go back to sleep, it can wait. It’s one thing after the other and I’m so aware of it, but I can’t get myself to change. It’s like watching yourself continuously make bad choices and you want to stop and make better, new choices, but instead you sit and watch. I know it’s because this is what I’m comfortable with now. It’s easy. I have absolutely no discipline or motivation. I have all the inspiration and want in the world and yet I’m stumped. I think it’d be easier if I had someone to do it with, but I know I can’t just rely on other people when it comes to hard decisions and choices. It’s like when my room gets messy and I can only sit and stare and want to clean but can’t until I get overwhelmed or get a sudden spark of motivation. Every time I get that spark to workout and change routine, it works for a day, maybe two if I’m lucky but then it’s right back to where I began.
Truly if you had any tips or recommendations I’d be incredibly grateful. I just don’t know what to do anymore.

I just think this is the funnier chunk.#Lan Wangji absolutely is the kind of person who has a perfect internal alarm clock for when it is time to get up.#He already has a dedicated sleep schedule. He is accurate within 10 seconds of 5am every day.#I think the Jiang disciples are most likely used to waking up around 6:00-7:00am#But the allure of having a guaranteed time keeper getting you up in the morning is worth the earlier hour.#I imagine they started outside lwj's door and slowly moved closer as the weeks went on.#Now LWJ has to cope with being way too warm in the night from all the extra body heat.#LWJ is not a fan of this but they scamper off immediately after he wakes up and they at least show initiative to follow routine.#NHS joins in only because he is a chronically heavy sleeper and needs this level of intervention to get up early.#His boldness would be a death sentence in the cloud recesses but here? Whole new game.#Yungmeng Jiang isn't a lawless land. It's just a land with different laws.#And one of those laws is to forcefully domesticate the catboy coded Lan boy through any means necessary.#Completely different tangent: I drew the thumbnail for this before I did comic 134. I then realized they had the same visual gag.#So I had to space this one out so it didn't seem like I repeated the waking up joke. Maybe they've both been in a situation were they weren't allowed to speak freely for 6000+ years and have had maximum 4 years to try to adjust to a new normal and they haven't quite found their footing yet becuase one of them is stuborn and the one is reactionary and they're both still feeling the pressures of the system they were subjected to for (once again) 6000+ years but they still know each other so well and they are both at fault and they are both trying!

Growth is uncomfortable, having the ability to look inwards at what you are doing both negative and positive is not fun nor enjoyable most of the time. It is also super draining. Consistently recognizing where I can improve and constantly being consumed by thoughts of what I could be doing better. My brain is such a loud and chaotic place, I find it never really stops. Femme Fatale Guide: Best Sleep Hygiene Habits & Tips For Better Sleep
Daytime Habits:
Stop drinking caffeine at least 8 hours before you want to go to sleep
Move daily: A 30-minute walk or a short pilates video is enough if that's all you can manage
Get some fresh air/natural light and/or supplement with vitamin D
Ensure you're getting adequate magnesium and vitamin B12 in your regular diet or through supplements
Nighttime Habits:
Tuck your phone in at its "bedtime": Leave your phone in the charger across the room. Out of sight, out of mind.
Have a physical book beside your bed to start reading at a certain time. Around 30-60 minutes before you actually want to go to bed. Find a book that puts you in a calm mood. A book that's too engaging will be counterproductive.
Have some "sleepytime" tea around 30 minutes before bed (Chamomile tea is a great choice. I love the Yogi Soothing Caramel Bedtime tea).
Limit the lights on for an hour or so before you want to go to bed. Only keep the light on near your bed if possible. Keep your curtains closed if necessary.
Practice deep breathing in bed: You can do a full 5-10 sleep meditation or just do a few sets of belly breaths (one hand on your chest and the other on your diaphragm or upper stomach)
Use meditation or a self-pleasure practice to relax enough to fall asleep.
To get on a proper sleep routine & fight insomnia:
Allow yourself one day to be exhausted, so you go to sleep "on time" and give yourself enough time to get (at least) around 6 hours of sleep. This helps your body "reset," at least for a few days.
When you close your eyes, picture one of your favorite memories and re-experience it without allowing other thoughts to enter your brain. This helps calm your mind, so you more easily drift off to sleep (I've been doing this for around 15-18 years and it's golden)
Have a journal or notebook with a pen by your bed: This allows you to write anything down that you forgot about or need to do, sudden inspiration that arises before you fall asleep, or a place to write out your feelings to help relax before going to sleep. It's better than having your phone and gives you no excuse to go pull it out.
Have a bottle of water by your bed, so you can have a few sips if you can't sleep from being (even a little) dehydrated.

every time a dentist tries to helpfully give me Basic Hygiene Tips it makes me want to give up entirely tbh. i brush twice a day and use a special mouthwash and floss every night and own a nice tongue scraper and what i get for my trouble is fillings and root canals and reminders to floss, the same thing i got in my wayward youth of sleeping all day and brushing once a week. why am i even bothering.

yeah yeah we all love the "you fuck her" scene because the mom is right on the money sorta, but is it just me or is it also kinda fucked up?
isn't it fucked up that she thinks the only way andrew, ashley's whole ass brother who essentially had to raise her himself, would stay by her side, would be if he got to bang her?
isn't it fucked up that she thinks the only way ashley could possibly have value to someone would be tied to her body?
doesn't it a hit a bit close home to anybody who had one of those moms who kept policing your appearance and general behavior because "men won't want you if you do this and that"?
ashley deserved to eat her parents. as a treat.
