on a personal level, no, reading “problematic” media wont like, change your moral compass
but i do feel like maybe! we could discuss uhhhh the history of racist fiction in america and the way it’s added to the overall self mythology of america and the way white people think about and interact with Black people to this day
rather than making 500 “haha people who think fiction affects reality are so stupid” posts
#i am getting so tired of ‘oh you think fiction affects reality?? i guess you kill people if you ever read about a murderer#no bitch i just have studied american history#i’ve studied gone with the wind and fucking birth of a nation#and yes there were other areas where those narrative of the civil war were being pushed (textbooks & confederate statues & etc.)#BUT LIKE. THERE ARE OTHER AREAS WHERE WHITE SUPREMACY IS BEING ADVANCED RIGHT NOW. AND ALSO FUCKING ALWAYS.#it drives me crazy because i feel like at first ‘problematic’ was used to refer to like#racist or homophobic or sexist depictions#and now it’s been reduced to ‘oh poor baby doesnt know not to murder people unless the author says it’s bad’ like bro shut up#even aside from the historical examples#think about all the cop shows that have completely altered most people’s idea of the police away from what the actual job is#making them into action heroes (and demonizing the internal review people like. what)#increasing the perception of danger and decreasing the respect for ‘going by the book’ aka obeying rhe fucking law and respecting people’s#constitutional rights#i know i should know better than to hope for nuance on this app#but i swear the next self righteous ‘people who think fiction affects reality are so stupid’ post is getting blocked#it’s not about your personal media consumption it’s about the stories we as a society tell ourselves and each other repeatedly!#and even if you personally aren’t susceptible to those messages you should be aware of when you’re supporting them#mary emma talks

There’s a lot of One Piece student/ high school Aus but I suggest One Piece teacher AU
Note: these descriptions are based on my experience as a teacher in southern USA. Where I’m at, you have to be certified to teach in public schools and it is a well known fact that coaches are almost always history teachers (don’t ask why)
Luffy is one of those coaches that is also a history teacher, but every student knows he only got his history license so he could be a coach. He’s taking girls volleyball to state this year, they are absolutely destroying their opponents. He teaches World History and is known for being vocally anti government / capitalist, but also super optimistic.
Sanji is a French teacher who is also certified in Home Ec. He is known by students to be a bit of a hard ass but he always brings food from whatever francophone country their learning about and students low key love him for always having snacks ready for kids who might not have enough lunch money or have breakfast at home.
Zoro is a coach as well, and he got certified in Japanese so he teaches one section and then uses the rest of his time coaching. Him and Sanji are both on the World Languages department and when the state language competition rolls around, they go HARD. Somehow he got roped into teaching health this year but is really hoping the teaching intern will get hired and take that over next year.
Nami is a certified geography and economics teacher, which is unfortunately apart of the history department so she’s stuck in stupid department meetings with Luffy. Shes in charge of detention and has students do stuff for her class as “punishment”, but really it’s a fun time with music playing and her classroom is always spotless after.
Robin is obviously also a history teacher. She’s AP certified so she does AP World, AP US, and AP Euro. Her students love her but are also kind of afraid of her. She’s currently advocating for the inclusion of AP African American Studies at their school.
Franky is part of the vocational program at the school, doing mechanic and wood working stuff with students. Alternatively, Franky could be the maintenance guy at the school. He’s always around fixing something.
Usopp is the drama teacher. He is the most chosen elective because he’s super funny and also has a habit of getting off topic and just not giving tests. He and Franky work together on set design and lighting for the school shows.
Brook is the choir and orchestra director. He’s super old so students think it’ll be boring but day 1 he is acting a total fool and kids love this crazy old man.
Chopper is a student teacher doing his internship as a biology teacher. He’s got major baby face and a sweet voice which is funny considering his teaching mentor is Dr. Trafalgar Law, who has resting bitch face and a tired annoyed voice. His AP bio and AP anatomy classes are some of the hardest classes at the school, but chopper offers tutoring and students are doing better now that they see Dr. Law being kind to Chopper .
Jimbei is the guidance counselor. He’s always got his door open for students to talk to him and he never judges them. He’s kind and patient and students trust him.

Dark Academia is a subculture and it isn't problematic, just misunderstood.
I am so tired of people that aren't a part of this community shitting on dark academia literally any time it gains popularity again, claiming that it's pretentious, elitist and racist. It's not problematic, at least not in a way most people criticise it for.
What all of those people don't seems to understand is that there's the dark academia aesthetic and there is the dark academia the subculture. Even when they do understand they still put people who are only interested in the fashion and overall vibe together with people who are dark academia.
Why is dark academia a subculture?
First let's start with what even subculture is?
It's a cultural group within a larger culture, often sharing a collection of values, beliefs, rituals and traditions. Despite what many believes, it doesn't have to have any connection to music, like Star Trek and Star Wars fans, but there's no need for having a shared fandom at all, like the gays, bikers and youth.
Participation in the dark academia subculture is not limited to following a specific set of fashion. It suggest preferred activities, hobbies, philosophies and lifestyles. The focus is on reading and expanding one’s horizons, on becaming the best version of oneself no matter the cost, especially by engaging in classical literature, history, foreign languages, mythology, art and philosophy. On top of that DA is actually connected to certain music (classical and neoclassical) and fandoms.
The (incorrect) criticisms:
1. One of the more common criticisms of dark academia is that of its superficiality and pretentiousness – that it is more a fetishisation of intellectual life than real intellectual life. "Instead of being a reading society, it's a Dead Poets Society cosplay." This is just simply untrue. Yes, there are people who are purely here for the aesthetic and vibes, but they aren't part of the subculture. People who are genuinely part of this community do read all those books, write poetry, journal e.t.c regularly and try to be well educated.
2. The money issue. Now this is where it gets funny. Dark academia is often called classist and racist because of it's "idealised vision of the academic lifestyle in which the money is simply there". Obviously in places where higher education is strictly financially driven studying is a bitch. Nowadays there are even a lot of doctors who are homeless, especially in US. But DA is mainly a European thing, and in a lot of EU countries studying isn't that expensive, it's not cheap either (books costs a lot and not working doesn't help), but you don't need to pay for a good education, you need to study hard and compete with others to get good education.
This however is not a dark academia problem. It's a harsh reality. One that we need to fight with. Getting higher education shouldn't make you get into a debt. It shouldn't make you sacrifice social life for studying all your life only to end on the streets.
3. "Eurocentric obsession". This is so dumb I don't even know to say. How can you possibly call people, mostly from Europe, problematic for being fascinated by Europe's history, it's past culture, Greek mythology, mostly European philosophers (but American too), Latin that is still fucking taught at many schools here, etc. All of things are taught in schools here. There is nothing wrong with you being obsessed with Asian royalty and making it part of your personality, but God forbid, you, a white person, are obsessed with the best parts of your history and culture 🙄.
4. Another criticism of dark academia is that it encourages unhealthy behaviour, both physically (caffeine overconsumption, smoking, drugs) and mentally (perfectionist, constant competition). The pursuit of perfection comes at a price. The entire idea of DA is to study as hard as possible so you can reach enlighten. It's workaholism, except it's school, not work. Now this is why I think dark academia isn't problematic in a way people think, but is misunderstood.
A melancholic comforting dream
It's easy to understand why people think DA is unhealthy or fake. Nights spent studying, writing essays for hours on end, drowning in books and writing excessive notes. For many this sounds like a nightmare, but dark academia romanticise it. It see it as the true joy of university life. At the same time there's taking joy in reflecting on what is irretrievably lost, pessimistic and melancholic.
In reality most people in this community are overworked neurodivergent, usually twice exceptional, youth who struggles mentally. So many people are twice exceptional and it's very obvious. The hyperfixetions, the love for linguistics and humanities, the hate of math.
For many Dark Academia is a coping method.
Staples of dark academia fiction explore intellectualism, classic literature and self-discovery, but also the struggle of fighting for your identity, the way humans are shaped by their trauma, the way they destroy themselves to be better. The word "dark" in Dark Academia is primarily about those dark sides of the human nature, not just the dark colours of the DA aesthetic.
If you think that Dead Poets Society romanticised suicide or Kill Your Darlings academicly motivated drug use then you're the crazy one here. People loved those movies, because of how relatable they were, even the suffering.
Studying is a bitch. If you make it fun then you are less depressed about the fact that you don't have the choice to not study all night. It's not just nostalgia for what you haven't experienced, but what you have to endure all your youth. Some people are forced to study to be the very best and sacrifice their (social) lives, because the system is so broken, but if you can make it into your own, comforting, time - it's better. Sure, the movies and books have lots of harmful copying mechanism, but irl (or in this case online) this community encourages healthy methods like reading, making art, journaling, acting etc.
I do think there's a lot of to talk about when it comes to, for example, sexism, and I do agree DA needs more diversity than just white cis man, but like I said, it's not problematic in a way most people criticise it for.

@imthursdaysyme you got me pregnant to the most beautiful idea and now I’m giving birth to it (that’s a weird analogy sorry) AND this is also to my Chilean friend @timefospookies BITCH I KNOW YOU AINT THAT LATINA BUT YOURE GETTING THERE
CHILEAN EDDIE
- he never really knew his father but he knew that he was a piece of shot that no one likes at all
- cut to years later when he is like hella famous and whatever, he does one of those like ethnicity tests and realizes he is 1/4 Chilean. And he’s like… “tf is Chile?”
- he gets home to lock himself in a his room to study about the weird skinny country on the south of america.
-Steve is kinda worried cuz he haven’t come out of the room for like hours ands it’s kinda suspicious
- out of no where Eddie decides that corroded coffin is making a South America tour, as an excuse to visit his some what home country.
- after going country through country they arrive to Chile, he has learned enough Spanish to get by, but little did he know that out of all of the latinoamericanos Chileans are one of the hardest to understand.
-he goes to museum and parks. He eat whatever he found on the street and learned about the basics of the culture
- the night of the concert arrives and he reveals on stage for the first time the reason behind touring
-“so I know it’s weird af to be here because this is actually…. Where I’m from?? A few moths ago I did an ethnicity test and turns out I’m from Chile? I mean it makes sence, I do have awfully dark humor and i am skinny and tall too”
- the crowd goes wild, everyone is shitting themselves rn. Lfter the concert terrier went crazy over the fact that one of greatest metal singer is Chilean.
-after that, his Instagram post got filled with Chilean shit and comments like “WACHITO RICO VEN PA CHILEEE” or “que chileno es este weon?? Si ni siquiera se puede tomar una piscola”
- at first he was scared, because he found out that Chileans can be quite…. Aggressive (I mean the entire country was banned from posting comments on Donald Trump’s Instagram for something)
- he then went to Viña Del Mar to make a comeback and learn some shit. He was now quite fluent in Spanish but you could still tell that he was American by the accent.
-he loved each and every comedian because they all poked at him for being “Chilean” and at the same time calling palta “avocado” or saying “hot dog” instead of “completo”
- after that he just more and more got to learn about the bizarre history behind Chile with Steve. And they loved it so much, since them, they bought a house and spend their vacations on Valdivia looking at the sea lions and Badurrias in the garden
- ALSO he was totally in love with Teletón, since it’s like a thing he never thought South America had, so every year he went to help disabled kids and adults and donating money.
- he comes back as much as posible, and trying to get to see everything from the flowered desert in the north to the glaciers in the south.
- he knew the people where cold but he actually found them quite nice since they all had that same weird sence of humor he did. They also had the same taste as he did, I mean he truly felt at home when he ate a Barros luco for the first time like that shit hit home.

“Wait, why are the edgelords right about the people who make ‘translation is loss’ posts?”
I don’t want any of the people I reblogged from under my old account, or any of the people I will undoubtedly reblog from under this account, to think I’m judging them for reblogging those posts. Those posts are the only point of view that non-translators on here tend to see, both because media translation is more interesting to the average non-translator than the majority of what we do and because while the tortured artist types are posting their laments on the internet, the rest of us are typically just getting on with our work. But “translation is sad because you can’t translate great literature in a way that fully replicates the experience enjoyed by those who speak the original language” is…not the best way to conceptualise translation for numerous reasons.
1. Most translators will never get to work on high-profile literature projects. You know that line in the song Don’t Be A Lawyer in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend where he says “Did you hope one day you’d find a way to spend four years working on a pharmaceutical company’s merger with another pharmaceutical company?” Yeah. And that’s not always a bad thing. “Translation is loss” is a romantic way of saying “if you work on prestigious literary projects, EVERYONE will have an opinion about the translation you did and many of those opinions will be the same kind of bitching that any high-profile creator has to deal with”. At most, I’d be willing to work on something like Marie Kondo’s books, where the audience is interested in the substance, not the style. Beyond that, forget it. I know what people are like.
2. Translation loss in prestigious literature is the kind that’s most talked about, but it’s one of the least actually consequential kinds. Not getting 100% of the original experience of reading a novel might be a bit of a bummer, but it’s not comparable to people dying because someone messed up a translation for an aircraft or a medical device or a bridge. It just isn’t. In my country, a dodgy translation of a treaty occupies the same place in our history as the smallpox-covered blankets in American history. That’s a tragedy. “We can be sad about both!” But you’re not.
3. Bridging the gaps between the two languages is OUR FUCKING JOB. If it was easy, we wouldn’t be hired in the first place. Academic study for translators is not supposed to be a fucking funeral for the source text (again, where would we be if translators in fields like aviation, medicine and construction did that?!); it is supposed to equip you with the analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to create the best target text possible. Which brings me to my final point:
4. If you’re a novice translator, the reason you find it so difficult to convey the source text in a way that is both accurate and natural is BECAUSE YOU ARE NEW TO THIS. You are going to need a lot of corrections at first. WE ALL DO. Some people never get good enough to translate professionally, just as not everyone is cut out to be a professional writer or artist or doctor or lawyer or teacher or pilot or athlete. That isn’t the profession’s fault. Every novice translator has to deal with a difficult learning curve and you can either blame it on the inherent nature of the profession or you can work on becoming the best translator you can be.
In closing:
“ReAdEr i HaVe TaKeN LiBeRTiEs” NO FUCKING SHIT.

how did you arrive at your progressive punk christianity outlook after being immersed in conservative christianity?
ooh!! good question. see I don’t really think what I was immersed in was particularly conservative—in circles I’ve been around we’ve always dissed Americans for being conservative (kinda mean I know) and my dad used to take me to climate change protests in the 2000s and I was always taught the 6 days of creation aren’t literal, the rapture isn’t real, women in stem etc. idk how it was anywhere else but the part of sydney I grew up in was just Like That, there was encouragement to give to the poor to actually end poverty and people actually did even though none of us really had heaps and I guess I wasn’t raised to be okay with entitlement but simply be kind to everyone? And I didn’t even know what conservative was until I was maybe 17 (I thought it was a style of fashion for ages and then I thought it meant conserving nature and history). It was always just Christians are meant to be genuinely kind and not have sex til you’re older and preferably married yknow?? and work hard, like the protestant work ethic was def a thing but somehow in a non ableist way as much as this is possible— I get real impatient with people bitching about stuff getting taken away from them, not realising how much they have when I probably have less and I’m usually giving away as much as I’m able and as much will put me in a state of perceived danger. It’s definitely a form of rebellion against them to see how little I can survive on which I’m working on. I also didn’t even know that so many Christians were transphobic like I thought it was only the extreme theobros. I also had a really lovely geography teacher in high school who was also a Christian and used her faith to drive environmental action, my biology teacher was a Christian and stood up for trans rights and I also had acccss to the internet to read up on clobber passages and hear peoples stories and it was always like ‘oh yeah some Christians believe different things based on how they read this stuff’ and I don’t think it was until I was old enough to actually vote and saw what propoganda was going around I really realised the power dynamic behind it, with the rise of the Australian Christian lobby which felt like it was straight out of the US. I fully thought voting was just liberals if you like fossil fuels, greens to save the environment, and labor if you’re a people pleaser and like fun little rhymes like ‘Kevin 07’ and attempting to be feminist but not really getting anything done. I actually met Martyn Iles once and was like ‘damn this guy is a fake Aussie this isn’t how we do Christianity’. I also got super burnt out by how hard and how biblically I tried to love my classmates on top of the Protestant work ethic about my schoolwork I never really cared about for myself, and was well versed in theology enough to be like HA! Grace means that we don’t have to do all that and can just do our sustainable best, still thinking my view was mainstream. I went to uni to study enviro sci at 17 and I thought my convictions to not drive unless Absolutely Necessary were driven by Christian ethics (which they were, how rigid I was with it was a pda response though). Then over the years realised very belatedly how people often didn’t validate my views and experiences and I’d expect they would (bc they were biblically rooted) and got quite hurt when they didn’t. Spent years in different volunteer ministries trying to put together the kind of community talked about in books like Philippians only to constantly be let down and feel isolated and that only driving me to work harder, despite knowing God’s grace meant I didn’t have to feeling like I couldn’t stop while my earthly needs for connection were unmet, saying yes to things I’d previously said no to because I got a sense of temporary community and belonging every time I joined a new serving team. Tried extra hard to make places inclusive and expected everyone else to be working as hard on it as I was and feel the desperation like I did and got super hurt when they didn’t, oh I guess I’ll have to do it all myself then.
I’ve always struggled with the concept of hell, tbh I heard about it way too young and never had a drop of self preservation instinct in my body only didn’t want to let God down by saying no. I’ve particularly always struggled with the whole urgency motivation like I’m trying, I’m doing the best I can, I listen to people and actually speaking the gospel into their lives in a way that hits home for them (bc I was thinking about how to do this in an empathetic and understanding and autonomy respecting way from a Very Young Age like I used to attempt to evangelise on moshi monsters to get an idea) and shit, I’m like 19 years old at this stage and I’m tired. If only I could just have one last hurrah to change places with someone so they can go to heaven instead of me? Id take it. and I basically worked myself to the point of being that suicidal and kept fucking going because God made me good at science so I can save the planet and end world hunger, and I had this conviction to contextualise (this is what we learned at afes btw) the gospel to really be real to queer folk and indigenous folk and other people of colour and marginalised people (it’s easy to see oppression with my background and my neurotype tbh) and maybe I could make myself suffer now bc God wasn’t gonna let me do that for eternity? anyway eventually left afes bc I was being so stretched and getting so isolated and the work I was doing there wasn’t achieving any of these things and I realised if I stayed I might end up dead and I wasn’t ready to go to heaven yet when my work wasn’t done. or at least so constantly dysregulated I wouldn’t be as able to be kind to others and show them the gospel.
around this time I’m also putting together a pretty comprehensive framework for how to actually solve global problems in a productive way, I’ve unpacked the pride in a lot of Christian mission projects and how they often were a feel good thing but not actually respectful or effective and I’d come up with literally hundreds of ideas for projects I could do to actually help, none of which I obviously had time for I think I was working up to 3 jobs while studying and serving in church and doing my hobbies that kept me kind of sane as well? which was discouraging to say the least, driving a kind of rageful resentment. Around that time I also discover PDA and my whole life makes sense, I start on my adhd meds which I had to jump through a million hoops to get and realise maybe I can finish uni.
a pda framework as I dive more into that and how to be actually neurodivergent affirming and actually recover from burnout long story short makes me realise how ableist much of our concept of sin and holiness really is and how much we need to destigmatise sin and stop using it as a way to intellectualise actual things happening in our brains and nervous systems and maybe we’d feel a lot less hopeless about it like it’s some big mystery if we actually did unpack the fear and threat responses and trauma behind it. Which we always say we will do but practically, church doenst give a space to do that bc you’re gonna be shamed. even for the people who are non affirming I’d be like, but isn’t it a logical step to someone who’s not yet been convicted to celibacy (if that’s something they think they should be) and realised this whole thing is unrealistic, not because the bible is wrong but because people think you can control your own brain by simply trying and trying again every time you fuck up as if that’s not gonna drive learned helplessness or actually traumatise you when you so desperately want to do better? Either that or drive you to be numb about it which I realised is what usually happens, there are certain sins people are blind to in every congregation and they’re actually intellectually unable to be convicted of that as sin because they’re stretched as far as they can go covering all other bases and being like ‘Christ covers that I didn’t Choose To Sin I’m trying not to even though it doesn’t really work’ like I’m a solutions person. if something isn’t working we’re gonna think of a new method and suddenly I understand how my brain works and those of so many others especially those who feel marginalised by the church!
and so long story short when I eventually had to quit what I was doing at church because someone cared enough to realise I hadn’t been doing well for years I was like I’m gonna follow this urge of the Spirit or simply my own head and desire for true connection I often found In exvangelical spaces and hear as many experiences as possible and use it to shape my worldview and get a bunch of hope from people who yes they’ve been marginalised but the gospel is real to them. that’s my only criteria I’m not gonna judge based on theology and I’m not ever gonna think my theological takes make anyone else wrong I’m just gonna be open to listen and shape them so there isn’t any cognitive dissonance and the grace found at the cross is real and practical and doenst have weird arbitrary limits, and I’m also gonna listen to those hurt by Christianity who some might judge as being hard hearted but I know how trauma works. and I’ve been doing that ever since, gradually getting there more and more and I think the best/funniest thing is even in more conservative spaces literally everyone I still talk to has been super encouraging of it and if we have any disagreements they’re pretty minor compared to the fact that we all believe the gospel is for everyone and we all wanna invest in social justice too (which makes me question how conservative those spaces ever were tbh). like there’s def parts of my story I won’t always tell but I feel like I come with a perspective people respect these days no matter where I am, and that’s nice in contrast to being that weird kid trying to do adult things being told either not to worry or that I don’t understand.

My The Secret History fancast + thoughts on an adaptation (LONG)
Hey guys just screaming into the void here and brainrotting about The Secret History (a Tumblr rite of passage it seems)--but not exactly for the reasons you'd expect. Anyway, I was watching a video essay on why The Secret History shouldn't get made into a film and I found myself disagreeing with a lot of the points the author made (respectfully). A few of their points: 1. The Secret History couldn't get made today because it uses language that uses too many slurs.
I understand how the use of such offensive language (I believe in the book it was homophobic/racist, and mainly from Bunny Corcoran), even when employed with the relevant context and blatantly disapproved of, can still be harmful to hear. But I also know that there are definitely college students today who (unfortunately) regularly use that language, despite the more politically correct world we live in. I also think that responsible screenwriters would take care to add the appropriate weight to those scenes and ALSO point out the more "liberal" characters' own prejudices evidenced in their dialogue (they definitely have them in the book), as Get Out did. IMO those moments were more sinister than the cringe Bunny scenes.
2. The Secret History as a movie would be romanticized instead of being viewed as the critique/satire that it is.
Sure. I fuck with the dark academia aesthetic as much as any other bitch, but... oh my god it was impossible for me to romanticize anything in this book because it was genuinely triggering to read. I grew up with the study of Greek philosophy and mythology being a big part of my life (don't ask), and I went to a small elite liberal arts college in New England. As a freshman, I remember feeling the way Richard did at the beginning of the novel, caught up in the small intellectual, rich friend groups, the rural New England lifestyle, the college debauchery. But I read this book with a lot more experience under my belt and, boy, you come to see through all these characters REAL quick. These rich kids are so puffed up on their intellectualism that they think they can escape the consequences of their actions--it sounds a lot like nearly every motherfucker I met at my college! And Professor Julian is just an older and more hypocritical version of these students, preaching on and on about morality and haphazardly applying theory to elevate themselves above the "common folk." Donna Tartt really captured the frustrating, out of touch, self-important attitude that runs rampant at these privileged institutions. I wouldn't say that's a difficult thing to translate to film as it's been done before (Succession being one of the most prominent examples). And yes, of course there may be a portion of the audience that may choose to ignore the critique/don't necessarily possess critical thinking skills and you'd end up with an American Psycho situation (re: the glorification of Patrick Bateman), but I believe that also had more to do with the fact that American Psycho's critique was in satire form--the humor gave way to memes that removed context from the story. Meanwhile, The Secret History's less likely to be memed because the satire is not absurdist--it's also really fucking obvious that it is a critique because it's written like a Greek tragedy where none of the characters are redeemable at the end of it. Will it be used for Pinterest boards and Tumblr graphics? Sure, but that doesn't necessarily strip away context--just popularizes an aesthetic. And such a thing serves the theme of the story (the obsession with aesthetics above all, especially during the rise of the 80s hyperconsumer culture) as meta-commentary/transmedia storytelling (that parallels our own generation's obsession with using consumption to form our aesthetics and identity).
3. The cast of The Secret History would be predominantly white because that's how it was in the book and that whiteness is an important aspect of depicting the characters' privilege and ability to navigate the situations they find themselves in.
I agree, yes, a good adaptation of this novel would likely be one that had the students/Julian be white, but that also doesn't necessarily exclude POC representation in yet another movie. I think stories that blatantly criticize rich white people, while trendy at the moment, are important when done correctly (Succession!)--AND there are definitely characters that do not have to be white that I think are plenty important (I think Judy and Cloke could be interesting here given Richard's uncharitable depiction of them as unintellectual drug users. Playing into stereotypes is NOT the goal, I think they are foils to the main group in some sense and also come out of this tragedy more or less untouched) (also, you know, the rich white main group do more illicit substances and crimes than they do which I think adequately reflects reality). Adding more POC characters that might not be inner circle but could also be main characters wouldn't be impossible in an adaptation and might help with the point below--I'm thinking detectives, other students and professors, etc. And depending on whether or not you're updating this for the modern day or keeping it in the 80s, I think there's a lot you can play with if Richard Papen was casted as an Asian American (as one myself, having watched the car crash that was the overturning of affirmative action this summer,,, it just feels like there's a lot you can do with that) (I agree with the essayist that making Richard Papen John Boyega might not do a whole lot for Black representation--it feels like there's a certain amount of setting him up with that fancast).
4. The Secret History wouldn't lend itself well to an adaptation because the novel relies mostly on Donna Tartt's prose than anything that could be translated to a filmic structure.
This point I just do not agree with at ALL. I mean, Tartt's prose is excellent of course, and it is told from Richard's perspective, yeah. But here, I just have to point you to Jean-Marc Valee's Sharp Objects or Big Little Lies, based on books. Both are murder mysteries, both are slow burn with plenty of introspective, quiet moments, both are masterful adaptations. What carried me through the novel wasn't the prose but the growing magnitude of dread that spoils the romance of the whole deal. There are so many layers of intrigue too--the enigmatic Julian, the exclusiveness of the group, what mysterious activities they're up to, why Bunny is acting out, whether he'll rat on them, and THEN--will they get away with the murders, will Charles or anyone else in the group confess, will Henry kill again, on and on. Richard's corruption arc was also super fascinating too me--you start out rooting for this guy and at the end he's just like the rest of them. It would be cool to explore the arcs of the rest of the characters as well, even before their murder anxieties. The point is, there is so much material that, if laid out meticulously enough, would make a film or a tv series a medium to enhance the original story's themes and characters.
And now, for the Tumblr tradition: fancast (extremely self-indulgent and incredibly unrealistic)
Richard Papen - Justin H Min
Bro I loved him in The Umbrella Academy I needed more
Tumblr media
Henry Winter - Wilbur Soot
Tumblr media
LOL alternatively Jacob Elordi but Wilbur Soot is just stubbornly what my mind visualized as I was reading
Bunny Corcoran - Dacre Montgomery
Tumblr media
He has the charming smarmy bastard typecast DOWN
Francis Abernathy - Alex Wolff
Tumblr media
I need to see him in more things!!!
Charles Macaulay - Drew Starkey
Tumblr media
I think he plays psycho brothers pretty well
Camilla Macaulay - Elle Fanning
Tumblr media
I mean Gwyneth Paltrow was 100% the right choice but unfortunately that did not materialize... however Elle Fanning slayed in The Great and she's so underrated as an actress

I like to project so that’s why I love to imagine ASOIAF characters as ppl who live in the American South
Texas Oil Mogul Lannisters. They have a residence in the city but their main place of living is on their ridiculously big ranch house next to all their oil rigs. Tywin runs that shit like the navy and no he doesn’t care about the environmental effects. Tyrion does damage control to the press, Jamie the heir would rather be doing literally anything else, and Cersei can’t understand that Tywin doesn’t want her to inherit the business (she has a different PR crisis every month)
Swamp people Greyjoys (Florida edition). They are just so Florida Man coded I’m sorry. They def live in the boonies. Balon sits on the porch all day and bitches instead of doing anything. Asha does all the actual work (fishing, trapping, gator hunting). Aeron is super into the crazy Baptist church down the road. Theon walks around barefoot and drugged out of his mind bc he’s just like that. Euron is the weird uncle that tried to bring home an alligator as a pet. Multiple times.
Swamp people Reeds (Louisiana edition). The better swamp people sorry ab it. They live way down south in a rickety old house on the river and they have about three neighbors within a ten mile radius. Very mysterious and isolated but if anyone is sick Meera will be at your doorstep with all her grandma’s weird remedies to make you feel better (and they always work). Jojen is the kid that the local church thinks needs an exorcism. Howland is the strange neighbor you go to if you want all your problems to go away without question
West Virginia Appalachian Baratheons. A working class family with a mining history. Everyone is too stubborn to move away from their ancestral home. Robert makes and sells moonshine out in the backyard. Renly is the smoothest talking, most charming and popular motherfucker in town. All the old ladies and moms love him. Stannis left to go to college and immediately got rid of his accent when he moved, and he hates going back to visit, even when Shireen begs him. Whenever they visit, Shireen teaches the old neighbors how to read if they never learned :,)
Alabama Tyrells. They have two residences, a McMansion in the suburbs and a big farmhouse in the country (they got rid of their family plantation bc Olenna thought it would be bad publicity). Mace is an old school southern gentleman who everyone likes even if he’s a bit ridiculous. Olenna is THE head of all the socialite women in town. Willas is studying to take over the family business (nobody even really knows what it is, they own like everything in town). Garlan and Loras are both D1 football players who are going straight to the NFL. Margaery is a pageant queen/cheerleader/sorority girl who definitely had a society debut.
South Texas Martells. They have a big ass cattle ranch near the mountains. Doran is a big name in state government, he has billboards up all over the highway for his re-election campaign. Oberyn lives off the family money with no real job and likes to travel out of the country, but does philanthropy every now and then to boost his reputation. Elaria is a hot topic of conversation for all the ladies, because she’s Oberyns middle class mistress who had kids out of wedlock. And the Sand Snakes are definitely all accomplished horseback riders, Oberyn taught them on the ranch himself, to everyone else’s discomfort.
Okay thank you for coming to my Ted Talk

(belated) reading update: may 2023
upon realizing I was over a week late on my book report for May I considered just waiting until the end of June and rolling the two together, but thing is that I have a Theme for June (spoilers: it's the very predictable theme of only reading books by and/or about queer people) and lumping them together will really throw that off, so! onwards we go.
I should also say that this will be a real shorty, tied with March for the LEAST amount of books I've managed to finish in a month so far this year. in March that was because the month mostly revolved around a weeklong vacation to crash at my mom's place on the beach with a gaggle of friends, which was very fun but seriously cramped my time to read for pleasure. May ALSO saw a very exciting weeklong trip to a brand new city (WHAT'S UP NEW ORLEANS) as well as genuinely some of the shittiest and most harrowing events of my adult life so far so. can't blame a bitch a bitch for slipping!
ANYWAY.
what have I been reading?
People From Bloomington (Budi Darma, 1980; trans. Tiffany Tsao, 2022) - a strange short story collection set in the Bloomington, Indiana, where the Indonesian Darma studied during the 1970s. these stories take the mundane drama of Americana and turn it on its head, crawling deep into themes of alienation and ostracization and the ways they turn people against themselves. over and over again Darma tells tales of lonely boarders driven to obsessive and antisocial behavior by the loneliness that eats them alive amid pleasant-looking suburbs. the prose is overall a little on the dry end for me to really love it, but I do think about how fucked up these protagonists are, like, constantly.
High on the Hog: A Culinary Journey from Africa to America (Jessica B. Harris, 2011) - a delight! an absolute gosh dang delight! Harris is a PUN FULL INTENDED delectable writer who takes you on the most unexpected tour of how African foodways have shaped the culture of US cuisine. beginning with the obvious roots of the transatlantic slave trade and journeying on to America's first Black restaurateurs and sit-ins at diner counters, there's no facet of culinary life too small to be interwoven with Black American history, and Harris eagerly explores them all while painting a vivid picture for her readers. this book will absofuckinglutely make you hungry, so it's a good thing that recipes are included in the back.
Gay Bar: Why We Went Out (Jeremy Atherton Lin, 2021) - a heady powerhouse of a read, seamlessly blending the historical with the editorial with the personal. Lin's on a journey to resurrect the history of the gay bars that shaped he and his husband's intertwined lives - from their roots before his time, the state he found them in as a young man searching for a place in the queer scene, and their apparently dwindling status in the 2020s. Lin's writing is dreamy and grimy, unflinching and romantic, horny and bored all at once. this isn't an uncritical glorification of the gay bar but an interrogation, the pressing question of what community even means and where on earth it's going.
D'Vaughn and Kris Plan a Wedding (Chencia C. Higgins, 2022) - that's right, still on that kick of reading one romance novel a month. if you spend any amount of time perusing lists of LBGT book recs, particularly LBGT romances, it's inevitable that you'll run into D'Vaughn and Kris. this book has so much #representation that it's pretty much catnip for list compilers: both leads are Black lesbians, D'Vaughn is fat and not yet out to her very Christian mother, and Kris is a butch Afro-Latina (and also part of the most marginalized community of all: influencers). but what about the story, is that actually good? straight up no, not at all; I feel pretty comfortable saying this is maybe my least favorite of the romance novels I've read so far. totally aside from lackluster writing, clunky exposition, and slapdash plotting, this book is uninterested in engaging with its central premise - Kris and D'Vaughn meet on a reality show where they are paired up to plan a wedding in 6 weeks without letting their families figure out that their relationship is a sham - to such an absurd and infuriating degree that I have to wonder why Higgins even bothered.
that's all for now, June will hopefully be MUCH more full considering I've already finished three books and still have nearly three weeks to go + a whole heap of queer books checked out from the library! xoxo

Rules: Tag 10 people you want to get to know better.
I was tagged by @wherenightmaresroost @blackhyena @chaotic-history and thank you all!!! My ten tags are at the bottom of this post.
Relationship Status: Single—why else would I have a blog like this?!
Favorite Color: Green, or black if we’re counting black as a color. But really I love all colors.
Song Stuck In My Head: way too many… I Didn’t Mean To Turn You On by Robert Palmer, Oino by LA Priest, Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush, etc.
Last Song I Listened To: Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush on repeat for the past three days
Three Favorite Foods: hmmm difficult because I don’t really have favorite foods but if I had to pick: raspberries, apples, or peanut butter…
Last Thing(s) I Googled: it was an article I had clicked about the rent increases in my city, but I’m not revealing my location! Before that it was “fix backpack strap.” I promise my searches are usually more interesting than this, but I guess I’m a member of the working-class before I’m an intellectual.
Dream Trip: it’s cliché for me as a young American, but true—going to western Europe and seeing all the landmarks (artistic/literary/cultural/historical). For the past 1-3 years I’ve been most excited to travel Italy and see where the Romantics roamed, see all the art history, maybe study there formally, etc… I don’t have a solid itinerary, but some combination of those... it’s something I’ve been saving for after I graduate. But I want to see other places too, and it’s very expensive to travel there! Hopefully sometime in the next year or two. Or maybe I can just contract tuberculosis and be shipped there immediately on my deathbed like John Keats, which would be ideal. I guess we’ll see how things go.
I’m tagging: @byronfucks @aaronposting @rock-n-rollin-bitch @houppellande @1892 @amarrymeinbostonwriter @tchaikennugget @thorin-is-a-cuddler @gothiclit @madame-karenina and anyone else who’d like to participate!

I canot find the revamped version of my hs au SO ITS BEING REWRITTEN
The most important part of this AU is that Theo is the "bad boy" trope and is the lead singer in a band.
Vincent never leaves the art room and he's trying to learn how to throw clay on a wheel but makes a complete mess every time and therefore only does potery shirtless because his art class is 2nd period and he always forgets to bring a spare shirt and an apron doesn't help. Aka all the girls joined the art club just to watch him. He specifialy reminds me of @/theo_hirschfield on insta
Leonardo is making a self discovery and finding out he is gay. Very gay. He's trying to date girls thinking that he just isn't finding the right girl, but he kisses a girl and goes "blah nope". Leonardo and Theo are also science class partners so Theo is always hearing him rambling on about something that never makes sense until one day when Leoanrdo looks at him and goes "I think I'm gay" to which Theo says "Yeah no shit". Which makes Leonardo question even more
Napoleon is a bi bitch whos eyes are only set on Jeanne. Yes I've decided to make Jean fem in this. Jeanne is a jock. SHE IS THAT AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL TROPE WHERE A GIRL WANTS TO JOIN THE FOOTBALL TEAM AND ENDS UP BEING THE QUARTERBACK AND TAKING THE TEAM TO FINALS. That's who Jeanne is. And Napoleon, who you would think would also be on the team, is on the sidelines watching her from a distance doing a dreamy sigh.
Isaac is an exchange student. He was going to a privet boarding school or some shit, but something happened to his parents so he's now stuck going to this public school and he has a very English accent.
Mozart and Theo fight over the music room. Mozart needs to use the piano after school to pratice because he's trying to get a scholarship to go to some school for music but Theo keeps saying that he got permission to use it today and so Mozart starts going "YOU CALL THAT MUSIC??" and it causes a war.
Comte is rich kid that no one knows is a rich kid, but he's like.. upper middle class and is best friends with Leonardo. Isaac and Comte may or may not be friends with Leonardo to use advantage of him to not get bullied. He's big and strong, there's no way he'd let them get bullied.
I just started thinking of those stupid high school football movies where it always takes place int he south and it has religous undertones and praying before games and being like "this is God's sport" and that thought mixed with Jean made me laugh so hard I woke my cat up
Arthur and his damn scottish accent. You know this is how I write him. Arthur hears Isaac and is like "Awright! ye'r fae Englain aren't ye?" and Isaac is just like "bloody hell" because now Arthur won't shut up. Arthur is happy for another brit.
Then there is Will. He doesn't look the part, but he's like the emo kid. Keeps to himself and spends every moment just reading. Not many people know he has an English accent either. Which he barely does because he hasn't been there since he was a little kid. HE'S A THEATER KID THOUGH. All the chaos.
Sebastian is bi bitch #2. Him and Napoleon kissed and they may have gotten caught. Sebastian is also anxious as fuck. Always in a panic that he's doing soemthing wrong. He's probably got the asian parents that want all A's So he's only ever seen studying.
No one knows how Dazai gets from class to class because he's always sleeping. You never see him in the hallway. He's in one class and by the time the next class starts he's already asleep at that desk too. Except in Literature. Depending ont he subject in history he's away too. But he's also always getting detentionf or something or getting sent to the principals office.
Vlad is bad boy trope #2 ONLY HES GIVING ME GREASER VIBES. Like black leather jacket and white shirt and jeans vibes. WHY??? I DON'T KNOW. But him and Theo are chill. Also Theo is PUNK.
Faust is just trying to make it through the day. He ends up coming to school in his fuzzy pajama pants because it was too early to get up. He's lucky he remembered his backpack. But he does amazing in his classes. He's also giving me heelys vibes. But because he put the wrong shoes on in the monring.
Charles is following a different person around every week. He defaults to following Will for some reason. He talks funny and has funny stories to tell. But Charles is dressed in name brand clothing and looks like a rich bitch. But he just has style and wants to be cute.

also baby sam what are your fav things <3 books, songs, arts, persons etc♡
Here are my favourite things:
-tea
-my cat
-myself
Alright. The thing is: I don't want to have 'favourite things'. So I prefer to give you a long list of random stuff that I enjoy without letting you know if I have any real favourite among them :) Yes, I'm boring
books
(Even if this list is essentially novels or essays, I read anything that falls between my hands. Sometimes it'll be novels, other times essays, mangas, history books, dictionaries, poetry, plays. I don't care.)
My answers may be disappointing, or you might consider me as a basic bitch but meh🤷🏻‍♀️
Circe, Madeline Miller
The Acotar series, Sarah J. Maas (yes, I'm a basic bitch. I discovered it 5 years ago and I still like a lot)
The Invisible Life of Addie Larue, V. E Schwab
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Taylor Jenkins Reid
Sorcières, La puissance invaincue des femmes, Mona Chollet (a feminist and essayist. Her book has been translated in English as In Defence of Witches: Why women are still on trial. Please, read it. Read her work.)
Ce que le Jour doit à la Nuit, Yasmina Khadra
The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald
I'm down for any Albert Camus books
I'm currently discovering Françoise d'Eaubonne and Mieko Kawakami's work and I enjoy it for now
Kuroshitsuji (I read and analysed the manga more than I studied for my high school diploma)
I want to read House of Leaves and Piranesi. Someday I will. I promise.
music
I'm always up to discover new stuff. So here goes a small list of random people/groups I listen to regularly.
Florence + The Machine, FKA twigs, The Amazing Devil, AURORA, Wardruna, Kalandra, Faun, Tamino, Evanescence, System of a Down, polnalyubvi, Hozier, Eluveitie, Marina, Melanie Martinez, Gojira, bôa, Maneskin... I'm a hoe for old darkwave metal band like Diary of Dreams or for pagan folk/metal bands. My soul leaves my body whenever I listen to dark, gothic, sad, passionate pagan songs
films/series/anime
I would love to tell you that I'm knowledgeable on cinema but I'm not. I'm shit and rewatch the same stuff all the time.
Mahoutsukai no Yome (one of my confort anime)
Hellsing (Ultimate) (never had the occasion to read the manga)
American Horror Story
Downton Abbey
Game of Thrones (just started House of Dragons)
I don't have a favourite film. I just accumulate touching memories from what the cinema gives me: Good Will Hunting, Hana and Alice, Goliath, Baby Driver, Ookami Kodomo, Black Swan, Mariage Story, Talented Mr. Ripley, Porco Rosso, Chicago
The list could go on but it's not necessary. You can guess that I don't even have a genre preference.
persons
Hm...Florence Welch, Aurora, Clive Barker (have you ever watched one of his interview? This man is the chillest horror genius and I love him so much).
But to be honest, I don't think I have any role model. No one is truly my favourite. I just like someone's vibes and energy. The way they speak, how they dress, their ideas or the way they write. You get the idea.
But all in all, my favourite people are ✨️women✨️🥰

“In every generation there is a chosen one. She alone will stand against the vampires, the demons, and the forces of darkness. She is the slayer.”
When James contracts a mysterious illness, he is forced to drop out of university and move with his parents to Godric's Hollow for his health. As he begins classes at Gryffindor Community College and befriends Lily and Remus (some local nerds), he begins to learn about the oddly bloody history of such an innocuous town. All seems well, though, until an earthquake plunges Godric's Hollow into complete chaos. James' parents go missing, his friends clearly know more than they're letting on, and a mysterious stranger named Sirius Black seems to think that James has some supernatural ability that shouldn't belong to him. As if that weren't enough, a whole host of creatures are moving in and they're all talking of The Dark Lord...
OR
Between the so-called "watchers council," sexy vampires, and dark magic, can James save his parents AND fulfill the sacred duty of the Chosen One? Stay tuned to find out
the ships will come in stages of focus: wolfstar will be first, jegulus will be the focus eventually, and lily will have like 3 different focus relationships
(sorry for the long ffg blurb i am just SO EXCITED and i really enjoy writing wolfstar main, it turns out... i'm gonna start posting it once im at around 50k words)

Good morning! I hope you slept well and feel rested? Currently sitting at my desk, in my study, attired only in my blue towelling robe, enjoying my first cuppa of the day. Welcome to the weekend!
Wow! We are here again: Friday! Where did that week go! Time is absolutely flying by! September 23rd? You’re having a laugh, mate!
First of all, R.I.P. Stu Allan, radio legend.
Sad to say, I am back on the antibiotics. I am definitely in better shape than I was a month ago, but the cellulitis has not gone. I need to kill it once and for all. I need to get back to walking. I’ve put on weight because I’ve been unable to walk. All of you that are unwell will totally relate to this. It’s a bitch, innit? You have to sit still or lie still to recuperate but, while all that’s happening, you’re piling on the pounds! I need to get back to Roundwood Park. All I was doing was walking around in circles but it made a huge difference to every part of me. I don’t like looking like Uncle Fester! I’m not built for the ugly lifestyle!
I absolutely hate taking drugs! I know that’s not a very rock’n’roll thing to say but drugs have never done anything for me. Antibiotics just mess with your body, as you know. While they’re doing their evil work on the inside of you, other bits of your body malfunction slightly. Food tastes weird! That really gets on my nerves. Your breath smells like antibiotics! The Trouble has NOT been impressed!
When people call you a ‘snowflake’, just remember they’re quoting ‘Fight Club’, a satire written by a gay man about how male fragility causes men to destroy themselves, resent society and become radicalized.
Yesterday, I did some decluttering! It amuses me that there is an industry around EVERYTHING! Name any subject you like and there are products specifically designed for that subject. As you know, there are books and TV programmes about decluttering. I’m not as bad as some. I’m a sentimental fool about things people have given me and I tend to hoard certain things that I feel I will re-use at a later date but … stop fannying around, you bald bastard! You can’t fucking keep everything! There are some CDs in my study that I can’t even reach! This is how I know that decluttering MUST take place! In truth, this is madness. People have started talking about mental health a lot more, and this is a good thing but, those of you drowning in clutter, I’m afraid you have a mental health problem too. However, some people are right on top of the clutter issue and I have to take my hat off to them. I once gave a geezer a CD and, a few days later, he gave it back to me. He said, “I’ve copied it. Give it to someone else!” He didn’t even want CDs in his space. You’ve got to respect that. If you collect CDs, they will take up valuable space! Me? I’ve got a LOT of stuff to get rid of before I move on to the CDs!
While we were down with Lady Wesker last weekend, a woman I’ve always known as ‘My American Mom’ called up. She’s someone I’ve stayed with (at her apartment in Manhattan) many times, and The Trouble’s stayed there too. Mum said, “I’m here with Lindsay!” The woman said, “Who?” She had no recollection of me at all. Her memory has completely gone. True, she’s ninety-something now, but it was still pretty sad to have disappeared from her brain. Guess this is my No. 1 fear: losing my mind.
Hope you can join me tomorrow at 1.00 p.m. for ‘The A-Z Of Mi-Soul Music’. The final part of The Letter I (Part Five). A two-hour tribute to one of the most important acts in black music history.
I post this status every single week day, Monday through Friday. If you want to read it but you don’t see it, just go to my profile. I’m always here!
Have a fabulous and funky Friday! I love you all. You’re probably thinking, “You don’t even know me!” but, if people can hate for no reason, why can’t I love?

I cannot believe Shea is still stalking your blog. The miserable bitch got no personality of her own except horrible or what???????? Can't tell Mark you didn't warn him. Dudes gonna be in for an awful time when she finds her next, uh, mark. Heh.
Sorry you're still dealing with that bullshit from your past life. I hope she lets it go soon.
She also stole her LATEST branding straight from a personal experience of mine around 2010 and wrote a big bio about it. That's why I'm like, oh you're pretending that's some message from the gods you hear and honor? Cool story bro, what's the name of the woman that shit was said to. Oh, you and "him" won't know that?
After all the time she went uwu ur magic is different than mine, way over my head, calling herself a shaman, she's made a shop for her "services" painting herself as the hermes dedicant, jacking my shit for her own branding, literally just painting "fraud" on her head to anyone that knows history or the origin of Things.
From stolen character design, stolen shop branding, and now down to even stolen practices she doesn't really understand or study, she is literally doing everything she can to like. roleplay being able to be me. It's the weirdest fuckin shit. Literally psychotic shit. And I know for a fact just cuz I know HER, she's going to be pretending to channel him for people, boiling down to her understanding ending at "be flamboiyant, sit on chair wrong, make Funny Jokes". She used to try to use "channeling" as escapism like a LARP, and basically tried to beg me to bother and call Hermes for any time she had a hair up her ass and essentially got mad neither I or he wanted to play, and more chapped when she was told to stop running from her identity and life by him. But dollars to donuts she's waving her hands around like jack sparrow on the seventeenth sequel caricatured telling people she's channeling.
And they'll defend her. If Mark is even REMOTELY like me he's already sorta covered his eyes and looked away and pretended he didn't notice her forgery or overcompensation. But he'd do real well to catch her standing in the livingroom and ask her when she's pretending to not be her to, say, cite the seven axioms. Or the seven or fourteen processes. Something fundamental to who she's pretending to be a dedicant or vessel for that she hasn't even been assed to read, and watch the blank stare and evasion.
But he won't. He'd have to face the same struggle I did at the last few years of our relationship of me realizing she was at large a fraud. He'd have to face that she is literally trying to recreate me being in her life because Mark isn't enough and doesn't provide the things she still wants. He'd have to accept she still hasn't moved on, and she's engaging in a LARP to try to imagine me in an invisible spot while pretending she isn't. And man, wouldn't that be a bitch to realize about your fiance. As a friend said, "Because if she pretends to be you she doesn’t have to admit she’s a failure at being her. At being a decent person or human or admit she was wrong in how she treated you. The reasons stack up honestly."
I cannot emphasize enough how fucking weird it is to watch an ex throw away her defining attributes (native american shaman, later athena) to badly mimic shit after you left. (It went from "I don't understand the things you do" to "lol actually I do it too I follow hermes too!!!" after the detour she took into 5d flat earth lightworker facebook to scream about cursed lemons as her pivot point--not missing of course her trying to make me cast a twined black candle curse on people because she went fuckin WEIRD.)
ITS. WEIRD. FUCKIN. WILD SHIT TO WATCH. Yes, the marvelous dedicant that hasn't read a book of his, can't cite where her branding is from, can't even picture him without copying my work, and encouraged/antagonized/harbors people that tried to delete one of the largest non-closed-lodge epicenters of information about and from him that people were allowed to explore. Like sitting with people that tried to blow up a church and then saying you're jesus' best special snowflake. Literal insanity. I'm not coming back, Shea, and neither is he. So just stop.
Take a gander at why your Etna muse fucked off to the wind. Figure it out sweetheart. These are literally consequences for your choices, you weren't just abandoned for no reason, they left you because of what you chose to do, and doodling mandalas with mirror features or stealing my shit to turn into literal fucking roleplays to mask through will not change it. Even if it actually gives you a vision to draw and present that's interesting again and doesn't look like a character a 14 year old would make on Furcadia like your shit since.
This is gonna be one of those "I'm going to die mad about it" levels of offense, and then when I die, I'll join hermes, and flip through all the death by a thousand cuts troll tortures he put her through for abusing his name for her free pass for misbehaviors or pretending to be him. She might as well have named herself The Incarnate Irony pagan or The Crustdaddy pagan. Fuckin shit. Dig a little deeper, girl, maybe steal his SomeCrumbAugh. Oh, no, you only knew to steal the one I told you about. Funny how that works. Catch up bitch that's so 2010 of him anyway, it's CrustDaddy now. Nerd.
Tumblr media
Quite frankly she'd turn inside out in fucking rage if she understood Why Crustdaddy, too. But her mimicry will never explain it to her. And frankly I can't even say what on the timeline, for the same reason I said I had to step back from leaking for people's protection, but like, bitch That Could Have Been You. Your loss. What could have been? IDK. Figure it out. She calls him crustdaddy. Whomst? Too bad, so sad, you'll never get the benefit she was given instead. Your choices. Your cost. Your hilariously scammed bank account. But sure you have the protection of the god of thieves and the internet who let you fall for some shit that even senile geriatrics can smell the bullshit on. She got a glo up. You got an emptied bank account.

U could buy all the gold in existence twice with that much money.. maybe not Ugandas recent discovery of like 13 trillion dollars worth of gold,, thats the other thing wouldn't the price of gold be declining,, didn't the supply just double... this is why I say everything is rigged and imaginary,, they don't really need money, there just keeping people poor at this point,, like people are peasants and they are bloodline royalty... isn't that like the opposite of why America became America,, or did I miss something studying history,, was it all bs where they lying, were they teaching us a bs story.. wasn't our money suppose to b backed by silver.. wasn't that in the constitution... everything happening,, did we vote for any of this, I'm pretty sure our founding fathers would yell treason... where the fuk is all the money... Money is worthless now why even keep working, they don't why should i, I ain't touching there cars rn.. lets see them do it.. let's see them do anything.. its there luxurious world thats burning, how we serve them is what's degrading, in no way are they a majority, they are there own tiny useless community..
I'm just gonna float,, I feel like I can tread longer.. I'll watch it I'm in the water, I'll watch it all burn down I'm not firefighter, even they are too busy fighting overdoses.. I don't think cops give af either, and that might be that people at the top arnt doing there job, they made things dangerous, they made things impossible, i wouldnt get in plane with those new pilots.. if ur gonna sit on the pot u better b fucking shitting,, if u gonna manage u better b good at it,, unlike the rest of the world,, u do not let the American people catching u fucking slacking,, if ur gonna be important show that your important that shits annoying... I really feel the world would be better off without them,, I honestly think it would immediately improve actually.. where the fuk is the money... and I know, I'm not stupid, I'm just stubbornly asking.. I already followed the money,, they were suppose to pay off the debt, they were suppose to balance the deficit... instead they put in there pockets they gave themselves bigger pensions, not to mention all the frivolous bs lawsuits that we end up paying for, they even took half of everyone's retirements,, that people worked thirty forty fifty fucking years for, they worked there entire lives for... I'm srry I'm not fucking doing that,, I'd rather live in a cave like wtf is that,, who tf does that, what a waste...
Effin millenial I'm urked,, I'm disappointed af,, when my grandma died I wasn't even allowed to go to the funeral, because of covid, because of liberal division,, even in my own family, I didn't know they were so weak,, I had to pray to pay respects.. I had to grieve by myself, that changed me, all that shit was for money, I ain't putting up with no fake shit no more,, I'm glad it's collapsing i hope it all dissapears... its all an illusion that's not gonna affect me.. I hope all that money melts like wax and I hope they get stuck in it.. I wanna see them work, I eanna see them struggle, I wanna see them sweat, i wanna see them carry shit, i wanna see them skip meals, I wanna see what they look like when there fatigued and exhausted, I wanna see them with sum dirty hands,, I wanna see them do what I've been doing for the last twenty years.. and I wanna see if they can keep a smile on there fuckin ugly faces. They look like demons, they act like demons, they think like demons, they do shit demons do.. so to me they fit the definition, they are demons
