My favorite thing about “the bride and the ugly ass groom” tweet is that it is very indicative of their real relationship.

The Princess Bride is such a funny book to read after ONLY seeing the movie. Like Goldman made up a fake author from a fake country and proceeded to write the book as an abridged version of what the fake author wrote... and then he proceeds to add in notes to the "abridged version" mentioning all the boring world building stuff he skipped because it was boring.
Like shout out to William Goldman, man really did make an entire book that is just "the cool scenes you thought of in your head" and then made up a fake author to abridge so he doesn't have to connect them.
And it slaps

the funniest thing about the princess bride both in the book and the movie is that inigo is going off on tangents left and right, claiming that the scream they heard had to have been the man in black for no reason other than he should probably be in emotional agony right now, resurrecting him as soon as he finds the man dead, and launching a massive plot to break into the castle and kill the man who killed his father while also getting the woman he helped kidnap to not marry the prince and this whole time fezzik is just like. "well. my husband is losing it. but he's been right about everything so far so we might as well keep going idk"

I wonder if VE Schwab knows that Kell’s outfit when he’s Kay in my mind is literally just Westley from The Princess Bride. I wonder if she knows how much it plagues me.

How I imagine the Batboys insulting a random thug:
Dick: FLUBBERNUGET
Jason: I'll explain and I'll use small words so that you'll be sure to understand, you warthog-faced buffoon.
Tim: Crusty ass bitch
Damian: You are a disgrace to your ancestors, family name, city, self...etc. (goes on til thug is crying)

Round 1
This is my favorite book in all the world, though I have never read it.
-The Princess Bride, William Goldman
Over the open plain, beneath a starless sky as dark and thick as ink, a man walked alone along the highway from Marchiennes to Montsou, a straight paved road ten kilometres in length, intersecting the beetroot fields.
-Germinal, Emile Zola
In a hole in the ground lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the rnds of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a sandy, bare hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit hole, and that means comfort.
-The Hobbit, J.R.R. Tolkien

the princess bride really is just like. the bohemian rhapsody of movies. nobody ever says it's their favorite movie but also nobody would say no to watching it because we all know it's a damn good movie. everyone's bisexual. one of the main cast members died in the 90s due to reasons outside of his control. everyone has a few favorite lines they can quote at any given time, but nobody knows how they learned it
