Catholic MC (III)

PART 3

“MC, I recall that you only have a few set of clothes to wear sin you were brought to Devildom suddenly.”

As you and Luke was leaving RAD after all classes ended for the day - your first day, you met Asmodeus and Mammon at the front gate.

“You want me to go shopping with you?” from Asmo’s word, you could already deducted what he wanted. However, you were unsure whether you should go with them, because you feared they would tempt you to some horrible sin.

“We promise we won’t do anything, unless you consent. Right, Mammon?”

“Y...yes.” the Avatar of Greed nodded.

Still, you had to think about this carefully. You only had the set of clothes that was on you the moment you were brought to Devildom, and 7 sets of uniform the brothers prepared for you beforehand. It was very uncomfortable, to be honest. You didn’t want to wear the same clothes every day for many weeks, until you or Luke knew where to buy clothes by yourselves.

“Hurry up and make decision, human!”

“Don’t pressure MC!” Luke barked. He actually wanted you to go back with him, without hanging out with the two demons, but he thought about your well-being in Devildom so he waited for your decision, respecting your free will.

“Alright, let’s go.” you finally agreed to go with them after 5 minutes pondering. You were really in need of new clothes.

“Eek, MC, you’re a student, not a nun!” Asmo screamed when he saw you dressed fully covered from head to toe, the only skin revealed was from the upper half of your neck up

“Asmodeus, this is called modesty!” you said.

“No, that won’t do! How’s about this?”

“Too flashy!”

“Then this.”

“Too eye-catching. I don’t want any demon eyes preying me!”

While Asmo was trying to make you agree to his suggestions, Mammon was going on a shopping spree, and Luke was helping you choose a set of formal attire for Sunday. Even when you were in Devildom, you should be able to watch Mass streamed online on Sunday morning. Even if it was only online and you did not participate Mass in person, you still had to dress formally to pay respect to God and the Sacrifice on the Altar.

Finally, you and Asmo reached a consensus, he bought you some clothes without collar and with lighter colors, the rest were 100% your decision (i.e. no revealing clothes and darker color).

“No fun! You’re just like Lucifer!” Asmo said as you left Majolish.

You didn’t like to be “like Lucifer”, you wanted to be different from him, in every aspect. But regarding modesty in clothing, you intended to follow the traditional teaching of the Church, if you were similar to the Avatar of Pride, so be it.

“Return my money, you scum!”

What greeted you when you came back to the House of Lamentation was Levi’s shout, which was actually aimed at Mammon.

“What money? What are you talking about, Levi?”

“The money I lent you 200 years ago. I really need the money right now to purchase golden figurine of Seraphina, it’s limited edition.”

“Levi, you dumb, it’s 260 years ago!”

“There, you admit it!”

“These demons are so stupid, let’s go back to our room, MC!” Luke said.

However, to Luke and Asmo’s surprise, you stepped in between Mammon and Levi.

“Mammon, return the money to Levi.” you said sternly

“Wh...why should I?”

“It’s justice. Since you have borrowed the money, you have to return it.”

“Human, did you forget that we’re demons or you’re just dumb? We’re DEMONS!”

“But you do have laws in Devildom!” you countered back.

“That...that...anyways, I’m not paying the money, and you can’t make me. Unless...”

“Unless what?”

“Unless you sell your soul and make a pact with me. I’ll be your servant during your whole life. But once ya dead, ya belong to me.”

“NEVER!”

“Then forget it. You can’t make me.” Mammon walked past you.

“MAAAMMOOOOON!”

However, Lucifer appeared and punished Mammon, lecturing him about some debt, Levi took the chance to persuade Lucifer to tell Mammon to pay him.

The same night, you couldn’t sleep. you kept tossing and turning while trying to fall asleep.

You just wanted to do what was right, giving Levi back what he was owed. That’s what you had been taught since you were a child, fairness, righteousness, rights,...in short, justice - a cardinal virtue. Yet, you were completely useless. What worse was the pity look Lucifer gave you after the incident.

You shouldn’t try to do something that’s beyond your mortal capability, was what the eyes seemed to tell you. You felt like you were not welcomed, your opinion was disregarded. This was supposed to be your home for the next year, yet you did not feel any sense of belonging here.

Maybe I should still try to escape.

“Help me.”

You opened your eyes immediately.

What was that? You asked yourself.

“Please save me.”

At first, you thought you were deceiving yourself, but clearly you could hear a faint voice asking for help.

“Please help.”

You immediately got up from your bed and followed the voice, which led you to the staircase, which led to the attic.

You were completely stunned when you saw a handsome man locked behind the room in the attic.

“You called for help, right?” you asked

“Thanks goodness, you finally heard me. Lucifer’s out tonight with Diavolo, so if I miss tonight. I don’t know when I can get out.”

“Who are you? Why are you imprisoned in there?” you asked but you suddenly came to realization “Did the demon imprison you?”

“Yes.” the man answered with a sad face “My name’s Belph Twinstars. And for what reason I was in here...I was your predecessor.”

“Huh?”

“Sorry, I should have been more clear. I was the exchange student before you. After I finished the program, Lucifer imprisoned me here.”

The Last Stand Exam

This file documents the questions administered to the adventuring party known as the Bad Kids during their Last Standard Exam, in their junior year at the Aguefort Adventuring Academy. This assessment was produced from a variety of class materials relevant to the curriculum of the Aguefort Adventuring Academy, as submitted to the principal Arthur Aguefort prior to the start of the school year. This list is accompanied by documentation of the creatures the party known as the Bad Kids was required to face as part of the exam.

The exam is graded out of 100 points; the scoring involves the students correctly answering the questions in the appropriate time interval as well as their heroic last stands. The students are expected to simultaneously fight off a horde of creatures and participate in the examination equally; each student in this party must answer two of the twelve questions.

Neither exam aids, nor outside interference are permitted during the examination period--this excludes clerical divine intervention, as appropriately performed by a member of the party in question. By standard, the proctor must be protected--death of the proctor results in a 30 point score reduction regardless of circumstance.

By Solisian School District Standards, this party reports excellent grades and a high level of competency with regard to independent adventuring.* They were allotted a grace period prior to exam initiation for preparatory spellcasting and review of the exam parameters. Based on prior academic achievement**, the students were allowed two chances to defer a question or utilize previous materials in their response. Questions where these materials were used will be marked with a **.

It became known that MC was a force to be reconned with, when the prince of the Devildom sought out and valued their input. Diavolo doesn't bat an eye at pausing a meeting to call on MC, over the phone or in person, and he will take their words into careful consideration when making any sort of decision.

"MC, what do you think of this painting?"

"It's very bright. Might suit the conservatory hall."

It's Lucifer who arches a brow at it at first, in the early days. Prince of the Devildom, taking advice from a lowly human? That would certainly put the house of lords on edge.

Diavolo didn't stop though, and the things he asked MC's opinion on grew less and less minial.

"This is a complex matter...Lucifer, would you have Mammon bring MC here after class? I would love to hear their take on this."

"Young Master, this is a rather more serious matter than where to hang a new painting." Barbatos remarked. True, it's not the biggest issue sitting on Diavolo's desk right now, but it's no small thing either. Deciding where to invest RAD's extra funding isn't something one would think to involve the new exchange student in.

"Precisely why I would like their opinion, Barbatos!" Diavolo beamed adamantly, he would not think on it again and Mammon brought MC over, their pact still fresh.

Diavolo did not comment on that fresh mark, merely slid the necessary information across his desk, inviting MC to read it as he explained the finer points.

Lucifer and Barbatos watched on sceptically. What could this magic-less human possibly contribute to the conversation other than what they already know?

The eldest brother is rather surprised that MC takes it so seriously, granting Diavolo their undivided attention and asking follow up questions to make sure they fully understand what he's asking.

"Maybe send out a poll to the different clubs, see if they have any common needs? If I had to guess I'd suggest the common areas regularly used for club events, someone hosted a party in the cafeteria last week, can't be ideal."

Lucifer shared a look with Barbatos as the human spoke. How was that actually a good idea?

"And if they don't have any common issues?" Barbatos prompted.

MC shrugged. "Transport lines in and out of the Academy? One of my professors was complaining about it this morning."

Diavolo's face lit up. "Both excellent suggestions, MC! Thank you for your input, you're as observant as always."

The first demon not to underestimate them, wasn't actually Mammon, or any of his brothers, but the demon prince.

The Prince, who saw how observant, how kind they could be and invited them to be in the Devildom and see it not just as a temporary Passover, but as a home.

I think we as a fandom are sleeping on how inherently fucking funny and rad it is that tfa Optimus knows about guitars enough to call one an axe and also knowing how to fucking shred one.

This presents two equally fun possibilities:

Scenario 1: Cybertron has a very similar instrument he learned back in his academy days, and learning that translated to guitar skills when he found out they exist.

Scenario 2: after the headmaster episode where bulkhead got him invested in art, he started a deep dive and decided he really liked earth music too, enough to learn how to play a guitar. Which means he likely has a bot-sized one kicking around in his room we've just never seen because it's never been plot relevant until Soundwave rolled in.

In ANY scenario it confirms that Optimus does in fact like earth music as much as bumblebee and bulkhead do, and I think that fuckin rips

Everything we know about Diavolo so far, lore wise.

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR ALL SEASONS

➤ He's the prince and future king of the Devildom, and the founder of RAD — the Royal Academy of Diavolo — taking the position of Student Council President. (swd: 1-1)

➤ He created the exchange program as a first step towards his goal of strengthening the relationships between the three realms and forming an allyship between angels, demons and humans. (swd: 1-1)

➤ He has the ability to discern the truth from the lie. (swd: 4-1)

➤ He was the one to step in and save MC from being attacked by Lucifer in the underground tomb. (swd: 6-6)

➤ He hasn't seen his father in several centuries now and only knows that the Demon King is somewhere in the bottom of the Devildom. (swd: 7-10)

➤ Unlike Lucifer, he saw MC's pacts with the brothers as a good thing from the very beginning. To him, MC's pacts were proof that demons and humans could put aside their differences and actually form bonds together. And that made him happy, considering it was all he wanted with the exchange program. (swd: 8-19)

➤ Before, citizens of the Devildom were allowed to travel to the Human World whenever they wished through passages spread through the kingdom, but Diavolo changed that after taking over the throne. Now, those passages are blocked and the only way demons can use them is by getting permission from Diavolo, Lucifer, or Barbatos - the only demons apart from his father who are allowed to use them freely. (swd: 11-4)

➤ When the eight siblings were cast down to the Devildom and Lilith was in the verge of death from the battle, Lucifer begged Diavolo to save her and he did, having her reborn in the Human World with no memories of her previous life. This came with a cost, however, said cost being Lucifer's loyalty to the prince for the rest of time. (swd: 14-10 and 15-7)

➤ He ordered Barbatos to imprison Belphegor in the castle for plotting treason and put Lucifer under house arrest for protecting the youngest by locking him attic and not telling Diavolo about his plans. (swd: 13-14)

➤ He knew about Belphegor's situation from the beginning, and told this to Lucifer when he arrived in the castle with the others asking for him to free him. "...Truth be told, I knew. I knew you were hiding Belphegor, and I knew why. Your loyalty to me forced you to deceive your brothers, and I knew that was a source of guilt. I saw how you struggled with it - how hard it was being pulled in two directions at once. And it made me sad." (swd: 15-12)

➤ He refused to free Belphegor at first, but eventually made a deal with MC: to release him from prison if they went back in time with the help of Barbatos' powers and found out who had freed him in the first place. (swd: 15-14)

➤ He had Barbatos trace down MC's bloodline and found out that they were a descendant of Lilith because of it. (swd: 16-15)

➤ On his birthday he decided to not only celebrate himself but also MC, to give them a "late welcome party" and show appreciation for them after everything that had happened. (swd: 18-A)

➤ He was suspicious of Solomon for suddenly showing up in the Devildom with MC unannounced (swd: 21-4) but arranged things so they would be able to stay for a while. (swd: 22-19)

➤ When Lucifer and his siblings fell Diavolo found them in the colosseum, and every now and then he finds himself going there and pondering over his past decisions and wondering if they were the correct ones after all. (swd: 24-13)

➤ He was the first Solomon talked to about his suspicions that MC was connected to the natural disasters happening in ancient locations around the realms, and for a while only the two of them and Barbatos knew about it (swd: 37-4), since Diavolo decided to keep it a secret from everyone else until he had proof of MC's powers being harmful to the realms (swd: hard mode, 32-16).

➤ He had MC undergo the standard magic exams that demons students are given at RAD, and although he initially told MC it was to help them learn more about the powers demons possess and how to control them (swd: 29-5), it was actually a test to see if their magic was as powerful as Solomon suspected. The sorcerer was proven right when MC passed each of them. (swd: 37-4)

➤ His secrecy and unusual reliance on Solomon caused a strain on his relationship with Lucifer, as the eldest knew that Diavolo was hiding something but refused to tell him. They eventually had a conversation in the colosseum after RAD's exams week ended, where Lucifer directly enquired him about what was happening. Diavolo refused to tell him, saying it wasn't "the right time" for him to know yet, and when Lucifer asked if whatever secret he was keeping involved MC the prince replied that he wasn't certain yet, further concerning him. (swd: 28-C)

➤ He's "not fond" of Simeon because he finds him difficult to deal with it and told this to the angel's face while speaking to him. When Simeon asked Diavolo why he found him difficult to deal with, he answered saying that it's because angels never divulge anything about themselves or the Celestial Realm but are constantly inserting themselves into Devildom business, and he's specially not fond of Simeon because he hides his true intentions better than any angel Diavolo has ever met. (swd: hard mode, 31-16 )

➤ He's so not fond of and unsure of how to deal with Simeon that when he finally decided to let him in on the secret and make him aware of MC's powers being a threat to the three realms he asked Solomon to break the news instead of doing it himself. (swd: 32-16)

➤ He eventually decided to tell Lucifer about MC’s situation and through text apologized to the Avatar of Pride for leaving him in the dark for so long and asked him to meet him so he could finally let him in on what was happening (swd: hard mode, 36-16). Unfortunately that meeting never happened, since Lucifer ended up affected by MC’s powers and lost his memories before Diavolo could explain anything to him. (swd chat: the fantastic three, untitled)

➤ Finally breaking the news to everyone, he and Solomon told the others everything, from the moment the sorcerer started growing suspicions about MC's powers to the moment that their powers struck Lucifer and he lost his memories. They also presented their only solution(s): to sever MC's pacts with the Night Dagger in order to break their magical connections to the brothers and make them an avarage human again. There was another solution: to stabilize MC's magic with the Ring of Light - the counterpart to the Ring of Wisdom that once belonged to Lucifer - but it was discarded right away as the ring had been lost in the Great Celestial War and no one knew its whereabouts. (swd: 37-9)

➤ Once everyone knew the whole story, he apologized to MC for not finding another way to prevent their magic from causing massive destruction to the realms, since he knew neither MC or the brothers wanted to sever their pacts with the each other. (swd: 37-9)

➤ When all things ended well and MC was able to get their powers under control without using the Night Dagger thanks to the Ring of Light that Simeon found just in time, Diavolo organized a party to honor MC and celebrate the victory. (swd: 39-1)

➤ He showed no surprise when MC expressed wanting to stay in the Devildom instead of going back to the Human World but still refused the request. I don't want MC to be a demon...or an angel, for that matter. No, I want MC to be a human. A human who understands us, and who works together with Solomon to shepherd the human world toward a better future… Someday I'd like MC to work alongside me to bring harmony to the three worlds. Which is precisely why I won't allow you to be stuck here in the Devildom, MC. I want you to learn more about the three worlds and to understand each of them better... The human world, the Devildom, and the Celestial Realm.” (swd: 40-22)

➤ He couldn't accompany the brothers on their vacation to the Human World at first because of work and told MC he often found it hard to get things done with everything being so quiet since the others weren't in the Devildom with him. (swd: 42-18)

➤ When tasked with the over the kingdom in his father's absence, the first thing Diavolo did was to start conciliating with Celestial Realm to end the conflict between the two realms. For this, he started having meetings with high-ranking angels to explain his plans and hopefully reach and an agreement of peace between the realms. That was how he met Lucifer in the first place, when the angel came down the Devildom to hear what he had to say. (swd: 44-12, 44-15 and swd card: Lucifer, Glory Days)

➤ He's a majority shareholder of the Three-Legged Crow Group otherwise called Yatagarasu, the largest company in the Devildom that's been expanding business in the Human World with their technology devices. (swd: 47-11)

➤ He “went missing” to purposely lead everyone to the karaoke place owned by Yatagaeasu where the brothers and MC had to play a game and get a perfect singing score in order to get out and would vanish from the room if they failed. His reason for this as he told MC later was because had been missing everyone ever since being left in the Devildom while the others were in the Human World, saying that being alone with no one but Barbatos by his side had made him remember how things used to be before the brothers started living in the Devildom and that had made him terribly lonely. In that same conversation, Diavolo also admitted that he felt jealous of the brothers for being able to spend so much time MC. (swd: 48-12 and 48-15)

➤ Later on during an outing with Lucifer after being confronted with the fact that the karaoke ordeal had been orchestrated by him, Diavolo explained his reasons this time to Lucifer and opened up about feeling jealous of MC as well. “I wonder, when was it, exactly? When did you and your brothers become so very important to me? I thought I'd never be able to become ‘one of you.’ It seemed ridiculous to even try, because it was just obvious that I couldn't. But then MC did just that... Effortlessly fitting in with the seven of you to become just another one of the gang. More than that, actually. MC is part of your family now. And when I saw that, it may have made me a little jealous. And while I haven't wanted to admit it to myself up to now...the truth is, I think I was lonely.” (swd: hard mode, 50-16)

➤ His mother died shortly after giving birth to him and he was raised by his father who was very strict and gave him a sheltered childhood, so much so he rarely ever left the castle. (swd: 56-18)

➤ He met Barbatos for the first time when he was still a child and the older demon was the first person he met from outside the castle. The older demon amazed him with stories of the outside world, and little Diavolo begged him to stay with him, getting to the point of threatening not to assume his position of king in the future if Barbatos left him. ➤ When the brothers at the farewell party asked if they could make MC “officially part of the family” by marrying them, Diavolo explained that demons and humans aren't able to marry yet but that he'll do everything he can so one day that'll be possible. “MC, you aren't aware of this, but some bad blood still exists between our three worlds. No matter how much all of you may want this to happen, it's not something I have the power to do on my own. [...] However, my ultimate goal is to eliminate these barriers someday. And I will do everything in my power to make sure that happens.” (swd: 60-15)

➤ A while after MC left Diavolo sent them a magic letter and asked them to come to the Devildom for a third time because he had something important to discuss with them. (swd: 61-4) And that something turned out to be a request for MC to participate in the exchange program for a second time and an invitation for them to be a new member of the student council. ➤ The intentions for this second try of the exchange program was mostly the same but now with a different approach, as Diavolo explained to everyone in the meeting then: “Our last exchange program was meant to provide an opportunity for cultural exchange among the inhabitants of all three worlds. But nothing more than that. Think of it as merely a starting point on the path to mutual understanding. But this time, the goal of the program is to make a stronger case for mutual understanding. Directed at everyone both inside and outside of the Devildom.” (swd: 62-17)

➤ Initially, his father was the main reason why he was determined to be a good king and why he even rescued the brothers in the first place. He craved the king's approval, wanted to live up to his name, show himself worthy of the throne, and eventually surpass him. He was forced to face this truth when he was younger during his last trial of the Kingsblood Crucible - a traditional ritual that demons of royalty have to go through before they take the throne. ➤ After MC was officially appointed as the 9th member of the Student Council and the short-term exchange program ended, he gave them an “entry permit” so they could travel from the Human World to the Devildom whenever they wanted. (swd: 80-22)

Chat Log: A Human Child Arrives in the Devildom

Beelzebub: I don’t remember. Beelzebub: I don't remember that either. Mammon: Oi, Beel, what the hell are you saying? Satan: That isn’t Beel. It’s “the new human exchange student”. Mammon: Why are ya sayin’ that in quotes? Satan: You’ll see. Mammon: The hell does that mean?! Beelzebub: I fell. Beelzebub: I fell out a tree and then I was here. Lucifer: Satan, Asmo, Beel. I thought I said to look after the human child. Why is it sending nonsense in the chat? Asmo: It can’t talk, so we’re asking it questions out loud and having it answer like this! Lucifer: Why did you not create a new chat where you could interrogate it without annoying the rest of us? Satan: Convenience. This chat already existed. Mammon: Whoa whoa whoa, did you say human CHILD? Why the hell did you guys recruit a child? Lucifer: We didn’t. Something appears to have gone wrong in the summoning process. Barbatos is attempting to resolve the issue as we speak. Mammon: Is the kid still in the chat? Asmodeus: Yes, Beel loaned it his phone. Mammon: Hey kid, ya like ice cream? Beelzebub: Yes. Mammon: Well, I got a massive chocolate cone for any human kid who’s willing to come hang out around the central plaza for a few hours. Lucifer: Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem as if this issue is going to be resolved as quickly as I had hoped. Lucifer: Mammon, if I leave you in charge of the human until tomorrow, do you think you can keep it alive? Mammon: What? Why me? Ain’t Asmo and Satan there already? Lucifer: I hesitate to entrust a child to either Asmo or Satan for any extended period of time due to certain personality defects each of them possess. Asmodeus: Rude!!! Mammon: What about Beel? Lucifer: Beel would certainly eat it. Mammon: …Yeah, I guess that’s fair. Lucifer: Satan, Asmo, Beel. Please take the human to the school gates and wait for Mammon to retrieve it. In the meantime, Diavolo has graciously offered to lend it the D.D.D. he had prepared for the original transfer student, so stop by the dean’s office to pick it up. Asmodeus: Fine, we're going. Mammon: I really gotta do this, huh? Lucifer: Yes. Mammon: :( Leviathan: LOLOLOLOL!!! This is hilarious! Lucifer: Don't think I've forgotten about you, Levi. I'd like you to prepare a few dishes Barbatos says are in vogue with human children. Leviathan: Wait, are you making me its personal chef? Mammon: Ha! Serves ya right! Leviathan: Shut up, Mammon. Lucifer: Macaroni and cheese. Lucifer: Chicken tenders/nuggets (in the shape of dinosaurs, if possible) Leviathan: Dinosaurs? Lucifer: Apple juice. Lucifer: Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Lucifer: French fries. Lucifer: Cheese pizza. Leviathan: Do I have to make all of this right now? Lucifer: Chocolate chip cookies. Lucifer: Human-world grapes. Leviathan: Am I being trolled right now? Lucifer: Absolutely not. Prepare one dish immediately using whatever ingredients we already own. Lucifer: Human, if you are still here, I would like to extend my deepest apologies on behalf of the Royal Academy of Diavolo for this unfortunate mistake. Lesson Thirteen Summary

Part One MC finally wakes up from their coma thanks to a mysterious presence who is assumed to be Michael. He references his last encounter with MC from season 3 of the original game when he allowed MC to have the ring of light.

He tells MC he is only saving them for the shred of affection he has left for the brothers but that if MC chooses to side with Nightbringer, the celestial realm as a whole would be less tolerant of MC’s behavior.

Lucifer welcomes MC back, Asmodeus comes to inform him of dinner and excitedly greets MC, seeing they’re awake. Lucifer tells him to be quiet before the others find out but it’s too late and everyone comes to greet MC who greets each of them.

Part Two Everyone is worried about how MC is feeling and Lucifer suggests MC rest. MC has the option to rest at the House of Lamentation or Cocytus Hall.

At the House of Lamentation, MC is unable to get to sleep and opens their door to see all of the brothers sleeping there except for Lucifer who informs MC they’ve been doing this.

At Cocytus Hall, Solomon tells MC he is surprised they chose to go there with him and is happy they must think of him as home. He also acknowledges MC must not be on board with his plan and that he blames himself for taking them to the reaper’s cave and his hands are still shaking thinking about how close he was to losing them.

Part Three If you chose to stay at the House of Lamentation in the previous chapter, you get a scene where the brothers mention waking up inside of MC’s room and Asmodeus says MC gently carried them all in there. Satan counters that it was more like dragging and the other brothers are jealous they weren’t awake.

If you chose to stay at Cocytus Hall, you get a scene where Solomon asks if you had a good night’s sleep and says it was a good idea not to stay at the House of Lamentation because the brothers might’ve pestered them.

Barbatos informs Diavolo that everyone has arrived and he proceeds to ask Mc the big questions. It is acknowledged MC is human, it is acknowledged they are from the human world (choosing the future option leads to Barbatos interfering and claiming MC is insulting the Devildom by saying it’s behind the times), it is also acknowledged MC would like to stay in the Devildom for the meantime.

Part Four Diavolo thanks MC for calming down Beelzebub in a previous chapter but states their power is great and a threat on the level of a grimoire and that as the representative of the king, he cannot have so many destabilizing factors. He reassures MC it has nothing to do with who they are as a person but the circumstances he as the future ruler of the Devildom is in and keeping stability in a time of great change.

The brothers counter and get worked up so Barbatos calls a recess and MC follows Diavolo who wants to calm down.

He is surprised it was MC who followed and thinks they are too kind but thanks them. Soon after Barbatos arrives to check on them, Mephistopheles shows up.

Part Five Diavolo is glad to see Mephistopheles as it’s been a long time. He asks about his family and Mephistopheles explains his brother is still going on happily about how he was invited to the castle. Diavolo is excited to see Mephistopheles wearing the RAD uniform and Mephistopheles praises Diavolo for his dream of establishing an academy coming true.

Diavolo introduced MC to Mephistopheles who says he’s never heard of them. Diavolo says he’d have introduced them earlier but Mephistopheles hardly ever comes to visit anymore.

Mephistopheles excuses this as being very busy with the House of the Lords, as he’s attending meetings with his father.

He delivers a letter from the House of the Lords to Diavolo, regarding their concern with Beelzebub’s rampage and wanting there to be proper punishment.

Mephistopheles asks if he may say something and Diavolo agrees. Mephistopheles proceeds to explain how he fears the angels’ presence is having a negative influence on Diavolo.

Diavolo cuts him off, thanks him for bringing the letter and leaves MC with Mephistopheles.

Mephistopheles thinks it’s rude that MC did not immediately show him out of the room.

MC asks Mephistopheles his option and he states he is worried about Diavolo and that his very reason for being born was to support him. He notes Diavolo likes to change the rules of the games he plays to suit his tastes and knows Diavolo will do the same as a king and bring great change. Mephistopheles says Diavolo will need a good strong demon by his side when that happens which is him, not the angel Lucifer.

Part Six MC has the option of asking Mephistopheles to accept the brothers. He says it may seem easy to lower-tier demons but to the nobility that is not the case as they recognize that the brothers are potential weapons for the Devildom or Celestial Realm.

MC returns to the student council room where Diavolo looks distraught as is noted by the brothers.

Diavolo has read the letter from the House of the Lords who want consequences for Beelzebub and his brothers and are putting the blame for them on Diavolo’s shoulder as the one who should reign them in. They believe Beelzebub’s rampage at the castle is a declaration of war and want Diavolo to prove himself by undergoing a ritual known as the King’s Crucible.

Part Seven The King’s Crucible is explained by Barbatos. He describes it as a traditional ritual comprised of several trials but no one knows what happens as anyone who fails does not return and if he refuses he forfeits his right to become the demon king.

The brothers ask what the trials are like and Barbatos explains no one knows as it is passed from one king to the next and Diavolo is at a disadvantage since his father is asleep. Lucifer points out how unfair it is and Diavolo tells him this is how demons think and it’s on purpose.

Diavolo resolves himself to immediately go through the trials—The trial of blood (proving he is of royal blood) and the trial of virtue (proof one possesses the qualities needed to become king)

Part Eight MC wakes up to find they’ve been teleported with Diavolo as they were chosen to be the witness to verify Diavolo is worthy of becoming a king.

Diavolo finds it amusing that it’s a human who will determine if he is fit to be the demon king.

MC can recognize he is nervous.

Diavolo explains they are in the Mausoleum where all the previous demon kings are put to rest. He points out a few of them to MC.

One is his grandfather—the first to establish laws. The other is an ancestor called the God of War whose “best friend” was his black sword. Diavolo admits he tried to take it when he was younger and was yelled at by his father.

He also admits he feels as though he may not be up for the task which is why he seems less confident than he’s pretending to be.

MC comforts him and he is again confused about why MC cares since he will probably still send them back to the human world and the chapter ends with him asking MC why they care about him.

Part A The brothers believe Diavolo is being too stubborn about MC not being allowed to stay and argue ways to deal with it. They believe they need someone strong enough to persuade him but Satan thinks they should do it by force. Mammon asks Lucifer if he can persuade Diavolo but Lucifer says it’s about whether or not that’s what MC genuinely wants and that if MC is only staying out of concern for them then they should go back home. They are interrupted by Mephistopheles who is disgruntled to run into the brothers.

None of them remember his name and he gets mad and exclaims that’s why he can’t stand angels. Asmodeus chimes in that he does remember Mephistopheles, as he can’t forget such a handsome face.

Mephistopheles comments he doesn’t understand why Diavolo let such rude degenerates into the Devildom and Lucifer counters that he’s at least as rude as any of them and Diavolo still puts up with him.

Mephistopheles says he finds Lucifer the biggest insult of them all, especially with him flaunting his wings. Lucifer says he didn’t choose to have these wings and all of his brothers jump in talking about his wings. Leviathan mentions he used to have twelve, Mammon agrees his wings scream “I’m better than you” (which pisses Lucifer off), Asmodeus comments he loves both versions as they’re both sheen and fluffy (Lucifer tells him to stop stroking them) Belphegor comments he’s lucky not to have so many now as whenever he got caught in the rain they’d drag on the ground behind him. Beelzebub mentions Michael used to say they’d make for a good replacement for a mop which Lucifer gets mad about (apparently having not known Michael would say this)

Mephistopheles tells them to stop talking about wings and gets angry when Satan brings up he started it in the first place.

Mephistopheles lashes out that they will never have power even if the people of the street call them rulers of the Devildom because he and the House of the Lords will never accept them.

Mammon realizes Mephistopheles is just worried Lucifer will take his place as Diavolo’s right-hand man and they begin mocking him and stating they feel sorry for him.

He gets even angrier until Barbatos interferes and leads him to Diavolo to deliver his letter.

After he’s gone the brothers complain about him except for Asmodeus who compliments his appearance again.

Hard Luke begins writing about the House of Lamentation and how he’s decided to explore it. At first, he feels bad entering Asmodeus’s room but he remembers that Michael used to sneak into Lucifer’s room all the time.

Luke likes the scent of the room and goes to explore the closet. After he enters he’s surprised to see how big it is on the inside thanks to magic. However, he cannot find the exit and sees a Skeleton in the distance and begins panicking he won’t be able to find his way out and become just like the skeleton.
