Imagine waiting for jason to come out of the shower after his patrol but you are already so tired from waiting up for him so you just pass out spread out all over the bed covering his side and yours. Jason walking out his hair still damped as he sees you and his heart melts he changes into his boxers as he moves you so carefully like a porcelain doll as he gets in and immediately you move towards him as you nuzzle your head into the crook of his neck and he smiles before falling asleep cause he knows he has you with him
hehehe i hate this kinda but felt bad that i haven’t written something in a while

you stood with your back against the drinks table, sighing through your pouted lips as you glanced around the room, hoping for some type of entertainment to catch your eye. you didn't even wish to be here, in fact, you would have done just about anything to be snuggled up in your bed reading a book right about now.
jason was the reason you were here in the first place and yet, he was nowhere to be seen.
you’d heard of the wayne gala’s a lot before, it wasn’t exactly new to you. you’d been to a couple of them yourself too but there was a reason you didn’t come to them often and one could guess it was because this is how it always ended, you sat up against the drinks table with expensive alcohol swirling in your expensive glass and dressed in your expensive dress. it was so… not you.
you were the type of girl that dragged your friends to junk yards and bought the cheapest clothes that you saw hidden in thrift stores.
not the type of girl that attended wayne gala’s.
and yet, here you stood all because you were so helplessly smitten with your all time best friend, jason todd, the son of bruce wayne, the redhood, the gentleman, the many, many things. he’d asked you to go to the wayne gala’s with him before, offering it up yet you always politely declined, stating it wasn’t your scene but this time was simply different.
you’d sat up on your bed, flicking through your magazines while jason rambled on as he began tearing his tie from around his throat. it was late, too late but jason never did care for the time when it came to seeing you.
you swallowed, nodding along and humming. it was just so late and you’d only woken up so your mind was all fuzzy and for some reason you couldn’t stop thinking about how nice some grapes would taste right about now. “are you listening to me?” the question from jason was rhetorical but you’d be lying if you said your undivided attention as on him. “i’m a dead man!”
“it’s not that big of a deal.” you uttered, closing your magazine and sighing, you really wanted some grapes. “really, you’re only stressing yourself out. you’re an… attractive guy, i’m sure you’ll get a girlfriend between now and the next gala.”
“but thats the thing… i don’t want a girlfriend!” sheesh, your head was too clouded for his yelling. “i shouldn’t have opened my mouth.”
you could only shrug your shoulders, nodding. “true.”
he took a seat on the pink quilts that surrounded your bed, his head falling into his hands and groaning. “you’re not helping.”
jason had made the idiotic choice of lying to bruce when asked if he had a girlfriend. he was just so tired of him asking and asking and asking so he decided to lie, telling him that he did in fact have a girlfriend and that they’d been together for quite a while now, he’d just been saving the announcement for a more special day.
so what did bruce do? announce it at his next gala, stating that jason would surely be bringing her along for the next.
and jason almost choked on his bourbon.
he was dressed in his suit from before, his hair all messed and teased while his clothes just looked out of it, his shirt untucked, his jacket discarded on the ground and he had pulled the tie from his neck, unbuttoning the first two or three buttons, he felt like he was going to collapse.
“i’m sorry.” you spoke softly, feeling sympathetic for your ‘best friend’. you turned to him, clad in your pretty pink pijama’s and softening your gaze on him. “how can i help?”
the way you looked at him should have told him everything. what your gaze should have said was that you were in love with him, you had been since the very first day you’d laid your eyes on him, gaze never leaving and your jaw falling slack. okay, perhaps you hadn’t loved him during your first encounter but there was definitely… something, something that told you this wasn’t just any boy but he was something much much more.
it should have told him a lot of things, should have spilled your feelings right then and there but jason was as oblivious as they come, he hadn’t a notion of what your gaze meant. in fact, he blamed the diluted pupils on the fact that he’d woken you up, banging on your door at all hours of the night.
“you could help in one way but… nevermind, it’s stupid.” shaking his head and turning away. the master of manipulation.
and you looked almost concerned then, the victim of that very manipulation. “no, what is it? i wanna help.”
and he knew you did, it’s why he said anything in the first place. sweet old you, always willing to do anything he said, just to please him.
“you could… you know, pretend to be my girlfriend, it would just be for the night, for the gala. you know, to get everyone off my back?” his eyes stared back at you, big and hopeful.
how could you, in your right mind, say no when you were so utterly full of love for the boy. “wha… i don’t even have a dress.” an excuse, a terrible one because something in you was downright shocked. you? of all people? first, you could barely go to that gala as it was let alone pretend to be his girlfriend.
besides, you began to get a little worried. perhaps you’d like the pretend game a little too much.
“i’ll buy you a dress.” he insisted almost instantly. lord knew he had the money.
but you frowned a little at that. “i’m not a charity case, jay…” sure, your apartment was a little small but it was homely, it was you. though you were sure it didn’t much live up to jasons standards.
“not a charity case, i know.” he came a little closer, pressing his hand against your thigh and rubbing it gently. “i just want you to feel your best for the night, angel, it’s just one night.”
you bit down on your lip, knowing you’d regret it. “fine.”
but for jason, you’d face just about any guilt.
and after his many thank you’s and squishing hugs that had your face smushed against your chest you finally sighed out. “I can’t believe i’m doing this for you.” sending him a playful glare though there was a pit in your stomach.
“please.” he couldn’t help but smirk. “you love me.”
and you couldn’t possibly tear your eyes away from him. without playfulness or a smile, you spoke the words, “I’d have to be a fool.” before quickly shaking your head and changing the subject. “you have to wear a pink tie to match my dress.”
he had the audacity to laugh in your face. “I will not.”
“yes you will.” you folded your arms over your chest. “you will or i’m not going.”
jason couldn’t help but shake his head with a chuckle. “fine.”
“fine.” you repeated. “now go get me grapes from the fridge.”
brat.
you’d been announced as his girlfriend, he’d held your waist for the entire night, grinned and beamed over at you as his brothers watched sceptically.
now, you sat alone at a table, downing what felt like your hundredth glass.
you didn’t drink often so you gave yourself a little lean for this time, seeing as you never did it, now was your chance to get absolutely… shitfaced, did damian call it?
but it wasn’t as if you didn’t have a good reason.
jason, your best friend, your first and last love, was standing speaking to some blonde girl, she was giggling away, obviously pleased with herself as if she didn’t have a lipgloss smudge on her teeth. and you? you couldn’t have been more ashamed with yourself.
your head was placed on your arm that was slinked across the white tablecloth, just watching the pair as the alcohol swirled in your cup. you wondered how you went from eating the white grapes to downing the white wine in your hands.
then your eyes glanced back to jason, in his pretty pink tie, and it all made sense.
he was your best friend, you had no right to be jealous, no reason to be but for some reason you thought by him bringing you here, introducing you as his girlfriend meant something.
but it was all just play pretend.
you knew this, you knew it as well as anyone and yet you still couldn’t help but feel so utterly… hurt.
your eyes burned but you weren’t crying, your throat burned but that was only because of the alcohol that didn’t even taste nice.
they should really have grapejuice here, the non-alcoholic kind.
it was dick grayson who’d laid his hands on your shoulders that adverted your gaze from jason. your pupils were wide, the rims of your eyes red though you weren’t sure if that was due to the alcohol or the fact that you were holding your own tears at bay.
“hey, y/n, how you feeling?” his tone was soft, understanding. he really was one of your best friends. he was crouched down to your level as you sat in the chair.
you glanced down to the cup in your hands. “think ‘m drunk, dickie.” because suddenly the entire room was spinning.
“yeah.” he pressed his lips into a thin line. “think maybe you’re done for tonight, huh?” taking the glass from your hands before you could so much as protest.
with heavy eyes and an even heavier heart, you nodded your head. “think ‘m… ‘m gonna go home.” home was where your bed is, they say. but saying you were going home and directing it towards your house didn’t even sound right. home was that curly, raven haired boy with a pretty smile.
“don’t go home.” his eyes glanced towards jason, sighing. “don’t go before you’ve talked to him.”
dick was one of your best friends. with that being said, he knew everything about you down to where your birthmarks were, that meant he knew all about these hidden feelings for your supposed best friend jason todd, his dear little brother.
but you could only shake your head. even thinking about jason right now was enough to make you queasy. “no, he’s talkin’ to blondie.” blondie, the pretty girl who you couldn’t even judge if you wanted to. she had a dark black dress on, she was much taller than you, large heels and standing with her shoulders drawn back, obviously much more confident too.
was she everything that you lacked?
as if summoning him, you could feel the dark shadow that loomed over you, even with your head pressed against that damned tabelcloth, even that was expensive.
“is she alright?”
that voice, that pretty, deep, and almost mysterious voice yet as perplexing as it was, you were sure that you’d recognise that voice amiss any crowd, through any drink that entered your system. jason still roamed your mind, always and when his voice was spoken, you were sure to hear it.
“she’s drunk.” dick answered for you, as though you weren’t sitting right next to him. “i think you should bring her upstairs, get her cleaned up and put to bed.” dick was doing you a favour in the long run, even if it didn’t feel like it.
but your head had finally risen from the table, big doey eyes staring up at the two large men above you. “n-no i can… i can bring myself home.” your words slurring.
jason couldn’t help but laugh down at you, glossy lips turned into a pout. “yeah, cause i’d let you ride your little bicycle through gotham alone, at this hour of the night, in the state that you’re in.” of course, you were the only one in the entire world that would ride one of those pretty pink bikes with a woven basket in gotham. “come on, let me put you to bed.”
you don’t remember bidding goodbye to dick but you were sure you had. you didn’t remember moving from the table to the door, practically being pushed by jason. however, you did vaguely remember uttering the words, “you need’a say g’night to blondie.” to which he responded with. “who?”
that confused you because he genuinely seemed confused, as though he hadn’t even remembered the colour of the hair belonging to the girl he’d just spoken to. had he really been that uninterested or was he just putting on a show?
you did remember, however, sitting on the cold tiles of jason’s bathroom floor after he’d undressed you, stripping you to your undergarments and placing a long tee over you. you remembered the way his hands gently did it, soothing you as he went, uttering soft words and assuring you that it was okay.
in no way did he make anything sexual, instead, he was merely caring for his ‘best friend’.
you remembered the way the tears began rolling down your cheeks as you dry sobbed pathetically, the drink getting the better of you.
jason had been tending to your face, a cotton pad covered in micellar water gently cleansing your skin, softly dancing it across the makeup that covered your face and wiping it clean. he wasn’t used to taking off makeup, obviously, so this was a little difficult for him. but he got used to it.
it wasn’t the first time he’d done it for you.
only difference was this time he was comforting your cries at the same time. “shh, shh, c’mon, tell me wh’s the matter, baby?” all soft and gentle with you as you couldn’t do anything but let the liquidy tears fall down your face, trying to avoid his gaze. “c’mon, tell jay wh’s wrong so he can fix it.”
but how were you to tell him that the reason you were crying was because you loved him?
you couldn’t, so instead you opted for shaking your head, words practically heaving out of you as your breaths became laboured and uneven.
jason could tell where this was going.
he’d comforted you on multiple occasions, some worse than others but that didn’t change the fact that he knew you from the inside and out. “hey, hey, breathe, pretty girl, breathe.”
he’d taken your head in the palm of his hand, gently placing it against his chest so that you could feel the way his own chest rose and fell and hear the way his heart beated against his ribcage. he knew this was a good thing to do when it came to you, this was a reminder that he was alive and by the way you could hear and feel it too, surely, you were alive as well.
it was grounding.
“in with me, c’mon, angel.” breathing in and you followed, trying to take as much air into your lungs as you possibly could. “‘n out, good girl.” he praised, hearing the shaky breath that you still let out.
when your breathing had regulated back to normal, there were still tears streaming down your face and you couldn’t help but cry and whimper pathetically. you could blame the alcohol or you could blame the fact that you’d gotten so caught up in play pretend that you’d forgotten yourself, who you were and what you really meant to jason.
“s-shouldn’t have come.” you muttered through your desperate cries. “shouldn’t have come here.” while the messy tears coated your perfect skin.
it broke jason’s heart. you were his bubbly girl, always grinning and smiling, laughing at jokes you didn’t understand, grinning at people you didn’t even particularly like, you were nothing but good. you were gold, if the colour was a person, it was you. your heart was as big as a heart could get yet you know what they say, the bigger the person, the harder they fall.
and sometimes your poor golden heart simply couldn’t take the mean world.
“what?” suddenly, his own heart began to shatter. he suddenly felt as though it was his fault. you were acting like this because you didn’t want to be here, because either something had happened or simply you were too overstimulated due to the gala itself (poor oblivious jason still hadn’t got it right.) whatever the case, he’d been the one to drag you along here and now he felt guilt pang his heart heavily. “no, no everyone loved you, what are you talking about?”
your teary, broken eyes glanced up at him, and you couldn’t tear your eyes away.
perhaps it was the too much alcohol that had entered your lightweight system or perhaps it was the way he looked so… dreamy, even through your blurred vision. his pretty sapphire eyes gazed down at you, so full of concern and worry. he cared so deeply about you, you could tell from his eyes. the slope of his nose, his pretty lips drawn into a frown, his sharp jaw line and the little curls of his hair, white streaks at the front on wide display.
“i’m a fool.” you uttered, so pathetically, full of realisation.
once again, his black brows furrowed in confusion yet also so full of concern. he wanted to understand, to help you but you were proving it awfully difficult, not that he blamed you. “what? you’re not a fool, what are you talking about?”
you sniffled, practically blubbering. “i told you i’d have to be a fool to love you ‘n if that’s true then i’m a fool.” you hadn’t a notion of what possessed your mouth to move, possessed you to speak. “‘m the biggest fool in the world because i love you so much ‘n im scared i’ll never be able to stop loving you.”
and the biggest problem was that you were sure he’d never feel the same.
“is that what all of this is about?” he had to stop himself from chuckling at you, otherwise you’d take it the wrong way and the tears would begin again. instead, his eyes softened and his hand came down to move the hair from your face. “you should have just told me, princess, all of this could have been avoided.”
you stared up at him with those dazed, confused eyes.
“when i told you i didn’t want a girlfriend.” he confessed. “it wasn’t because i didn’t want one it was because i didn’t want one that’s not you.” you had to blink at him, thinking it was all merely a dream. “i love you too, sweet girl, always have, always will.”
and you were sure it was a dream.
“jay?”
“yeah?”
“will you tell me this again when i’m sober?”
a chuckle.
“of course, angel.”
“promise?”
“i promise.”

jason todd x reader / fluff
tw: mentions of blood and a knife
“What the fuck.”
You try to swallow the lump that’s appeared in your throat. You know you must look stupid with your open-mouth stare, but you couldn’t help it. Really…
“What the fuck,” you repeat, scanning the figure in front of you. In the dingy hallway of your apartment complex, stands an out of place person. Red helmet scratched up, black tactical suit torn, and the most startling of all, the amount of blood pouring out from behind a hand.
“Hey, I don’t mean to rush this… but do you mind like—” the figure jerks his head and all you can do float aside to allow him to hobble through. You bite your lip and peek into the hallway. All that stares back at you is flickering LED lights and dingy wallpaper.
Letting out a shaky breath, you stare at the blood spots left on the floor as the door closes, latching it as quietly as possible. You turn the lock.
The injured vigilante you let in has made their way to your couch, draping themselves across it with legs falling off the sides. It’s silent, air tense, waiting for the other shoe to drop. You open your mouth, ready to start complaining when glistening liquid catches you eye. Clicking your tongue, you go to retrieve the first aid kit from the bathroom.
Flipping on the switch, you squint to adjust to the sudden brightness. You stare at yourself in the mirror. Mussed up hair from sleep, wrinkled pajamas, and a deep frown. You take in a deep breath to collect yourself. Right. Now’s not the time to be distracted by anything other than the problem bleeding out on your couch.
You rummage in the cabinet underneath the sink for a couple minutes, noises too loud for whatever fucking time it is. Behind a stack of toilet paper is where the med-kit is hiding, so it's quickly snatched up and you hurry back to the living room. The idiot is still in the same position, sans the red helmet, which has been tossed aside on the floor.
You shake your head and sigh. “You actually have to take off your suit for me to do anything.”
Blue-greenish eyes swipe to look over at you. They look distinctly glassy and out of focus. Concussion?
“You tryin’ to get me in bed already? At least take me to dinner first,” the mighty Red Hood responds, trying to smile but winces and carefully remains still. You bite your lip.
“Think you can move, or am I gonna have to cut the suit?” you ask, settling on the small sliver of couch left for you, pressing against his thighs. Opening the med-kit, everything gets set out in preparation.
There’s a groan and instantly you zone in on Jason’s face, twisted in pain.
“Just take it off. Trying to replace this shit is too annoying,” he grunts, slowly sitting up. You watch him closely, taking in every small twitch and tense muscles. Gently, hands are placed around his waist, slowly peeling back the top half of his suit. Jason’s been through this a lot. Too much, you think sourly. He forcibly relaxes and doesn’t move when his shirt finally pulls away from his wound. It takes several minutes, going slow and checking over everything, before his top is finally off of him and tossed on the floor somewhere.
His chest is littered with bruises and small scratches, but none of it compares to the gaping knife wound spanning from his ribs to waist. You’re not going to lie, the amount of blood along with how deep the wound is disgusting—you don’t want to know what muscle you’re seeing behind his peeled back skin—but you hold your breath.
Neither of you say anything. You’re focused on cleaning, disinfecting, and wincing as you feel and hear loose skin squish against the needle held in bloody hands. You only fully relax when everything is safely bandaged behind white gauze. Eyes dart up to Jason’s face, becoming slightly startled and embarrassed when you find him already looking at you. Maintaining eye-contact, you reach a hand up to his face, gently brushing over his cheek.
“Anything else I need to know?” you ask quietly, afraid to break whatever comfortable silence the two of you have. Jason takes in a deep breath and shakes his head, leaning into your hand. You don’t want to disturb him. He finally looks somewhat peaceful and not in too much pain after the many pills you shoved at him to take. “I’m going to get a washcloth and some clothes, okay? Don’t move.”
Jason flinches and wide eyes meet yours. “I was, uh, I wasn’t planning on staying,” he says, obviously confused. You stare into his eyes. He only stares back.
You quirk an eyebrow. “Do you honestly think I’m letting you leave this apartment in this state?”
“I’ve had worse, nothin’ to worry about your pretty head about, doll,” he grunts. He’s in the process of sitting up, but doesn’t get too far before a hand is pushing him back down.
“That doesn’t exactly make me feel better,” you dryly respond, “Now, you’re going to sit here and wait for me to come back, okay?”
There must be something showing in your expression because Jason takes a moment before relenting with a sigh. “Hurry it up then, I’m tired and want to sleep.”
You scoff. Honestly, the audacity of this man is astounding. You quickly gather clean clothes for him, random stuff he’s left here from past visits. Armed with a bowl of water and a washcloth, you’re ready to tackle the problem of wiping him down. By the time you make it back to the couch, Jason’s already discarded his pants and shoes. He smiles widely as soon as he sees you, wiggling his eyebrows. The washcloth you were holding is now hitting him in the face.
“Wha—Hey!” Jason pouts, “What was that for?”
The bowl of water is set down on the table, a little splashing over the sides. You look up to him. “You woke me up at an ungodly hour, bleeding out, made me fix you, and then expected me to wipe you down myself? Are you kidding me, Jason?”
You’re actually a little upset. It’s not that you haven’t seen him covered in blood before, but usually it’s not his blood he’s covered in. You knew what you were signing up for when you got together, but it doesn’t make it any less terrifying. A warmth wraps around your clenched fist and squeezes. You focus back into the present.
Jason’s looking at you with furrowed brows and a frown. You look down at your hands before you’re suddenly exhausted. Stumbling, you sit down next to Jason and deflate into his side.
“I–I’m sorry. Just…” you close your eyes and take a moment to collect yourself. “It’s just scary. Seeing you like that.”
Your chin is gently clasped and turned to look over to your lover sitting next to you. A thumb brushes against your cheek. “No, doll, I’m sorry. I know it’s a lot to ask of you,” Jason whispers, regret filling every word.
Shaking your head, you cover his hand with yours to keep him from pulling away. “Don’t. I would rather you come to me like this than I not knowing, with you in some dirty alley or safe house,” you reply and press a gentle kiss to his palm. “I just don’t like seeing you hurt.”
The exhaustion has finally caught up to you, dragging you down. You didn't really want to leave him alone, but a large yawn seizes you. Giving him another once, you deem it okay to leave him by himself.
“I’m gonna go to bed. Join me when you're clean,” you lean forwards and press a gentle kiss to his lips before silently making your way back into the bedroom. Too much has happened too early in the morning. Collapsing onto the bed, you take in a deep breath. You won’t go to bed without him, but your eyelids are heavy and begging for you to close them, so you do.
The next thing you know, the bed is dipping next to you while the blankets slowly cover you up. Not opening your eyes at all, you blindly reach out your left hand and wave it in the air until it makes purchase on something. A hand catches yours. Even with your eyes closed, you can basically feel the guilt he has for worrying you rolling off in waves. Gripping his hand tightly, you drag him down and press your body to his, keeping him in place. You're not chancing him leaving as soon as you fall asleep.
Your head rests on his chest, the gentle thump of his heart and rhythmic breathing is quickly lulling you back to sleep. In your last moments of consciousness, you feel his arm wrap around your back and a pressure on the crown of your head.
“G’night, doll,” he whispers. With him safely wrapped around you in the comfort of your home together, sleep is quick to find you.

Summary: you end a peaceful patrol to go make jason rest
Jason Todd x Gn!Vigilante!Reader | 749 words | no y/n
Warnings: mild sickness, mentions of gangs, petty theives, ect. Nothing to crazy
✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆
Standing on the roofs of Gotham, you can see everything. The city, despite the darkness that lurks in every corner, is beautiful. The lights from tall city buildings reflecting off windows, the sounds of the bustling streets, the moment of calm.
Your vigilante costume sits tight to your skin, hiding your identity from the many people out and about this late at night. Despite Gotham being one of the most dangerous city's in the world, the night life is forever endless. Gothamites never sleep it seems.
Your patrol has been pretty calm all night, Jason at home with a cold, Dick back in Büldhaven, Tim visiting the Kent's, Duke staying in to work on an essay, and everyone doing their own thing tonight. Small gangs and petty thiefs have been active, but it seems the routes have also taken a night off. Perhaps it's the freezing cold temperatures the city has recently encountered, or the heavy rain that has been on and off the past week.
As you finish your break, your comms get slightly hijacked, "seems your alone tonight." The voice is clearly Oracle.
"Seems you are too, all the other death defying idiots too busy to give you attention right now?" Your smile can be heard from your tone as you begin to move through the city.
Her laugh sounds through your ears, "very funny. Anyways, I want you to finish up. It's nearing the end of the night anyways, go home early."
Your feet stop moving on a differnet roof top at her tone, despite being light hearted as usual, it seems to have a serious undertone laced through it. "Is there a patrical reason for this bonus vacation time?"
"Redhood has called me three times. One to ask abt information on a case, which I didn't give him and told him to rest." While Oracle explains, you begin moving in a different direction, now aiming for home, "the other two times asking about you, were you are, how you are. If he calls me again in gonna block both your numbers."
"You underestimating us? I'm sure I could contact you even if you tried to get rid of me." You laugh, but definitely tense at the information. Jason has been out of commission for two nights in a row due to a horrible cold he got. You assume it's from the storm he was in the other day, mixing with the chemicals from Ivys plants, due to the area he was patrolling.
"Try me." Is all you hear before Oracle leaves you be. Once again leaving you to the ambiance of Gotham city.
You quickly make your way to your shared apartment. You climb up the fire escape and go through the open window, to see the lovely sight of your shirtless boyfriend.
On the couch, hunch over and man spreading, is Jason, in boxers and nothing else as he sorts through case files.
"Damn babe, it's fucking freezing in here." You take off your mask and shut and lock the window you came through, "no wonder you have a damn cold. You're never gonna get over it at this rate."
Jason hums in acknowledgment, still sorting through his files. With a sigh and a roll of your eyes, you go to the bedroom to change. Stripping out of your costume, throwing on warm and proper clothes, and cleaning yourself up a bit.
When you come back to the living room, Jason hasn't moved a bit.
"Jay?" You lean on the doorway and wait for a response, getting none. "Jason?" Again, nothing.
So, not feeling like dealing with him being defiant, you walk over to the couch where he sits, and stand between him and the coffee table, forcing him to look at you.
Jason finally looks up, eyes tired and red, skin slightly sweaty. "Hello." He finally says.
"You should be in bed." Your nails rake through his hair, slightly gross feelings but Jason is clearly enjoying it.
"I was working." His eyes flutter closed as he relaxes into your touch.
A small smile forms over your face as you move to cradle his face in your hands, "save work for later, you need mental and physical rest."
Jason opens his eyes to look up to you, "yeah, okay. Fine." Voice reluctant.
Walk him back to your shared bed, seeing him plop down and pass out almost immediately, you decide that everything else can wait, so you claw up with him and join him.

Healing Love
Sequel to Broken Trust
Jason Todd x gn reader
Tags: Angst (dw I ended with fluff ;)
The fight with Jason had been intense and it had left you feeling raw and emotional. You had been so hurt by his lack of honesty and the feeling that he was hiding something from you.
But when he finally sat down with you and explained that he had been spending his nights fighting crime as Redhood, everything fell into place. You realized that he had been keeping it from you because he didn't want to worry you.
The fact that he trusted you enough to share this secret with you meant the world to you. You felt a sense of comfort wash over you as you listened to him explain his motivations and the risks, he had been taking to protect the city.
You wrapped your arms around him, tears streaming down your face as you apologized for not trusting him. He held you tightly and assured you that everything was going to be okay.
At that moment, all of the hurt and anger melted away. You knew that you could work through anything as long as you had each other. And with Jason by your side, you felt stronger and more capable of facing any challenges that might come your way.
Bonus: A Kiss and A Bandage.
It had been a long night for both of you. You had been worried sick about Jason, who had gone out to fight crime as Redhood. When he finally stumbled through the door, bruised and battered, you knew you had to take care of him.
You gently led him to the couch and sat him down, fetching a first aid kit and some ice packs. As you tend his wounds, you couldn't help but tease him a little.
"Come on, Redhood, tell me the truth. Did you lose the fight?" you asked with a smile.
He chuckled and shook his head. "I didn't lose, I promise. It was a tough fight, but I came out on top. I just took a few hits along the way."
You rolled your eyes playfully, but inside you were filled with pride and admiration for the man you loved. As you continued to patch him up, you couldn't help but confess your feelings for him.
"You know, Jason, I love you," you said softly. "I'm so grateful to have you in my life. You're strong, brave, and selfless, and I admire you more than words can say."
He looked up at you, his eyes filled with love and tenderness. "I love you too y/n. You've always been there for me, through thick and thin. I don't know what I'd do without you."
As you leaned down to kiss him, you knew that no matter what challenges you faced, you would always have each other. And at that moment, everything felt right in the world.

fanon characterizations of many dc characters have become so normalized <many many thoughts on this. a post for later perhaps> that we often forget where the actual soul lies in them. people often forget how strange jason todd is. everything he does is to prove his point and it is so abundantly clear that he would do Anything to show that. (his point being that he was never properly avenged/that he was replaced/that he was Murdered.) no matter whos life is on the line. to put the most fear that he possibly can into people for a certain reaction or for control. haunting his father to prove his point ! and because he can. few people knew bruce in the way jason did; and he knew what he had to do to at least attempt to prove exactly what he is trying to get across. the lengths he went to and the things he did were unnerving. He had his chance to kill bruce ! but he didnt go through with it because he realized bruce would never know how, why, or Who. jason is a freak ! a sicko ! hes weird. and i hate that he is becoming less and less like that these days. i cannot stand that he is teetering towards normal on the sanity scale. and i despise that how brutal he is has been watered down to rubber bullets. and most of all, i hate that he now is someone that people think would change his moral code, the way he works, or the way he thinks for someone’s approval. even his father.

Jason is just the sweetest boyfriend who helps you put on your jewelry. Buys you anything you want and notices when you like something and he secretly buys it. Gives you the sweetest kisses. Reads you poetry in the softest voice. He loves playing with your hair. When he comes home he is always very careful not to wake you up. Sleeps closer to the door. Gives the best forehead kisses. Loves to rub your hand with his thumb. Always ties your shoelaces for you even when you say you can do it. Helps you zip and unzip your dress when you need help. Learns to tie a bow for you. Walks closer on the sidewalk for you. Wipes your tears away and gives you the biggest hug. Lets you wear his jacket no matter how cold he is
he would just be the best boyfriend ever

jason had realised much too late what was going on.
his head had been torn while working on the case with dick. what was joker going to do next, who was the target? after all, he never did go out without a bang. and he was getting closer and closer to the people they loved.
it was just a matter of time.
he had to admit, during all of this he'd managed to push you away. unintentionally, of course. you two were getting into it almost every day now. though he had to agree that it was his own doing and not yours. he'd snap, you'd merely stare, wondering what was wrong with him.
didn't you see? by the end of the week, joker would have gotham painted red if they didn't figure out his next move soon enough.
this was why jason was thankful your sister had come for the weekend to take you away. your sister, ashley, worked a long while away from gotham and it wasn't often that she came to see you. when she did, she turned her nose up at the sight. she never was a lover of gotham.
jason supposed, neither were you.
but as much as you hated the crime that circled gotham, the dirt on the street, the injustice of the entire city, you still loved it dearly. it was where you'd grown up and you just couldn't bring yourself to leave. so, you got a paying job, lived in the smallest of apartments where you spent most of your time with your lover. and if you and jason weren't there, you were spending time at the manor, wrapped up in jason's black sheets while he recited the books that lay on his night stand.
the trip ashley was taking you to would last a total of two days, the friday she came and the saturday after. you wouldn't be heading home until that sunday evening.
he hoped by then that he would have the case sorted out and it was safe enough for you to come home.
often times, he wondered what he was doing as red hood. perhaps it wasn't worth it anymore, would it be better to just let it all go? batman and nightwing could save gotham. he and you could live a normal, mundane, happy life. then he'd look at you in the midst of reading, glancing down at your closed eyes and pretty pouty lips. then, he'd be reminded of why he did what he did. to make gotham a better place for you and one day, for his family.
"you all set?" he questioned, shutting the trunk after lifting all your bags into the car. you'd told him you could do it yourself but he only insisted. he'd done enough to you in the past few days, you deserved this at least.
"yes." you grinned up at him, sweet as ever. even in he midst of chaos, you were the sweetest he'd ever seen. "apex grove awaits us!" you glanced to your sister who was sat in the car, leaning out the window with an ugly green suncap on her head apex grove written in yellow writing.
"it's gonna be the best weekend ever!" she was whooping in the car causing you to giggle at her antics. it would be the best weekend ever, for her, that was if she remembered any of it after she got shitfaced two nights in a row.
jason was not unfamilliar to your sister's drinking habits. but he thought what harm, it wasn't as if you were stupid enough to get dragged into it too. "you have fun, okay? not too much fun."
you listened to him huff out a laugh. "i will." before moving forward to let your head fall on his chest. hugging jason was what you assumed hugging clouds felt like. though you'd never experience it, you could still dream. "'m gonna miss you." you mumbled, only loud enough for the man to hear.
even during arguments, you were the only one that truly saw him.
you never blamed him for his short temper or his aggrivation he felt during cases like these. you only moved with caution, letting him know you were there. you were something he would be eternally grateful for.
"i'll miss you too, sweetheart." he mumbled back, pretty eyes glowing in the little sunlight that gotham got.
"bleh!" your sister yelled, rolling her eyes. "come on, y/n! we're gonna be late for the dinner reservation!"
"okay, bye." you reached up, kissing him on the lips ever so gently. "love you."
"love you too." watching as you made your way towards the passenger seat giddily. "take care of her!" placing his hands on his hips as though he were a mother.
"bye jason!" your sister only yelled back in response causing his brows to crease even further. was she trying to make him go grey in his prime? nevertheless, he waved towards your window until your sister's range rover left through the wayne manor's gates.
while watching them close on the way out, he felt a certain tightness in his chest. worry. he worried for you, worried that something would happen to you while you were gone. then he reassured himself that here was where the trouble was. if anything, he should be thankful you were anywhere but here.
you'd given jason a key to your apartment. you'd always insisted he'd take one anyway but he never did, you soon learned that was because he sort of liked coming through your window, grin on his face as you jumped sheepishly with a fright.
now, however, the key was forced into his back pocket.
you'd told him he'd better stay at yours for at least the nights, reassuring him that this whole joker business would get sorted out as it always did. you told him that whatever he was to do, he was at least to get sleep in your apartment and not stay cooped up in the manor wondering where joker will land next.
and he really wanted to make you happy, truly.
but it was now sunday and they were no closer than they were before.
bruce was injured, heavily so, from the joker's last attack. alfred had all but bedbound him, forcing him onto the lush mattress that costs more than your apartment complex put together.
so for the most part, it was just dick and jason on this one. tim was away and damian wasn't trusted on something so severe without the guidance of bruce.
alfred popped in once or twice to deliver food and assure that they were getting the rest and nutrition that they needed.
however, all the brothers could do was think the entire events over and look for clues. "three wheels on fire." dick's hands were clasped in his lap while he sat by the computers. "that's what he said, why didn't he show?"
the men had thought for sure that the joker would have struck at the fun fair. gotham was throwing one and there happened to be exactly three ferris wheels. "i don't know." leaning his face onto his hand that was propped onto the table. a map lay atop it. "maybe it was to throw us off his trail?"
"no chance!" dick quickly shut him down as he stood, pacing the cave. "maybe something went wrong. maybe he messed up. three wheels on fire, i mean, that was his chance! what else could he have been talking about." seconds passed before dick practically had a light bulb appear over his head. "a car? three cars?"
"that could be any three cars." jason waved him off. "how on earth would we figure out who? besides, three random civilians? don't you think it's a little too.... theatrical for three civilians?"
dick slumped back into his chair. "the joker does love his theatrics."
and jason had to agree with that. his eyes glanced down to the map, scanning it, until... "dick." his head turned. "hand me that red marker?" doing as he was told, dick handed jason the red marker that he used to scribble little dots against the page.
in confusion, the older boy watched him. he watched as fear suddenly took over his face, draining him to a ghostly while colour. dick hadn't seen jason scared of many things but whatever he had just uncovered... that was enough fear for a lifetime. "talk to me jaybird."
he swallowed thickly, already standing. "everywhere the joker's hit has been in pathway's through towns. every dot on the page is where he hit."
dick shook his head. "no, no, he didn't hit there." bulky finger lingering on the last spot on the page.
"no." he shook his head. "but it's the only dot that would connect the full circle. apex grove. it's where y/n is." the words came out sort of like a whisper, a whisper of pure fear.
"no, no, okay? you can't go off of some silly circle drawing, i mean, how do you know she's even in a car right now?" his hands were on jay's shoulders, trying to keep him steady in all his attempts. but jason's mind had already been clouded by fear and that enough had it made up.
"she's coming home tonight."
"that still doesn't prove anything!"
"dick." his face stern and steady. "if anything happens to her," voice cracking ever so softly. "if anything happens to her, i won't forgive myself."
dick swallowed too, realising perhaps jason was right. and even if he wasn't, was it a situation he was willing to put your life on the line for? "okay, let's go."
"it's so dark." you giggled, glancing out the window. you were... tispy, you could say. thing is, you'd been the sober one for friday and saturday night so ashley decided you were going to drink at least one night so she decided why not now, it wasn't as if you had to drive back to gotham, she had that handled.
"yeah." she chuckled. "tends to happen when the sun goes down." you hummed, sitting back up. you weren't exactly drunk, everything was just buzzing a little. "i didn't wanna ask because i didn't wanna ruin the whole night or anything but what was going on with you and jason?"
"what do you mean?" you questioned, turning your head to her while laying it against the seat. tiredness consumed you whole and while you'd loved this little getaway with your sister, you were thankful to be sleeping in your apartment bed tonight.
she shrugged her shoulders, eyes set on the dark road ahead. "i don't know, thought there was a little tension or something."
"we had a little fight." you admitted, absentmindedly gazing out the window. "but it's okay, all couples fight, right?" you couldn't tell her why you'd fought because that would include telling her about the fact that he worked with batman against the joker and that didn't seem like a great way to tell her.
"oh yeah, you should see me and theo." theo was her husband, the father to her kid, teddy, it was supposed to be sort of like theo but you didn't know if that was how it actually sounded. "we fight all the time."
"but you love him." you added.
"oh yeah, to bits." grinning and for a split second, glancing at you. "and as a girl in love, i can tell when other people are in love. and you and jason are just... soulmates." you huffed out a little laugh. "no, seriously, i've never seen two people so in love. i mean, all through highschool, i really thought you were gonna end up a crazy old cat lady."
"i do like cats."
"mm, always did."
BANG !
jason swore he broke every speed limit known to man, he didn't care. he couldn't care. dick waited until the motorbike slowed to a stop.
the men discarded the vehicles before stepping onto the road, staring in shock.
in the darkness of the night, a range rover could be made out, lights still on, though it appeared only one was working. it had been flipped on it's backside, one wheel discarded on the other side of the road. what had hit them? jason had no idea but what he did know was that there was a kind of ringing in his ear, fear.
"is that them, jason?!" it wasn't the first time dick had yelled out the question.
though his voice suddenly brought him back to life, his brows knitted. "the car's not on fire." he mumbled, confused. "dick, the car isn't on fire."
"oh shit." instinctively taking a step back. "it's gonna blow up."
the words should have registered in jason's mind to get the fuck out of there. instead, he ran towards the car.
he heard the faint yell of "jason!" from behind him. but there was only one thing on jason's mind as of now. and that was you.
he found you quick enough, popping off the door with his strength instead of wasting any more time. he could see you flipped in the passenger seat, your sister next to you. even when blood dripped from your forehead and your nose, gash against your hairline, you looked almost peaceful, as if you were only sleeping.
it caused genuine fear in him. jason swore he'd never been so scared.
knowing that at any moment the car could explode, he grabbed your limp body with ease, carrying it until you were a safe enough distance from the car and setting you down on the ground.
"y/n? baby, can you hear me?" dick watched as his baby brother held his limp girlfriend in his arms. "y/n, wake up. wake up!" as if in some distant world, you'd heard him, your eyes slowly peeled themselves awake. "there you are, there you are, huh?" though a laugh emitted his mouth, there were tears in the corner of your boyfriends eyes.
confusion washed over you, eyes hazy. "where am i?" but before you could receive an answer, everything came flooding back and you began sitting up, turning your head. "where's ashley?"
you were leaning on your arm, the other had a wound soaking through your shirt.
the men didn't respond, glancing to one another. going in there meant risking their lives. and sure, they risked their lives every day for the people of gotham but that car could blow at any minute. "where is she?" you practically cried, eyes turning to the flipped car behind jason. "she's still in there?!"
"y/n, listen―"
you cut dick off, trying to stand. "no! no! i have to get her!"
jason held you though it didn't take much, your body already weak. "sweetheart, the car is gonna blow, we can't risk you―"
"i have to save her! get off!" as much as you tried to writhe against him, it worked at no avail. "jason, get off me! jason!" dick's heart pained as jason's hand soothed the back of your head, pushing it against his shoulder.
BANG !
you swore you screamed, you heard a scream, you think. it was all really hard to remember. you clawed at jason, crying into his redhood suit shoulder, sobbing horrendously as you watched the car that held your sister burst into flames.
jason held you, not uttering a word and watching dick flee the scene, most likely in suit of finding the joker. he could only hold you close, listening you scream the word 'no' on repeat.
"i know, i know." he swore he could feel his own eyes muddling with the same glassy tears that yours were covered with. "i'm sorry, i'm so sorry."
at some point, you turned your eyes away from the explosion, face in jason's chest. you no longer fought against him, crying so loudly as he held your wrists against him, trying everything in his will to pick the pieces of you up. but in some way, he felt as though he'd caused them.
"she's gone." you sobbed out violently against him. "she's gone." the words repeated in your brain. you'd lost many people to gotham but never did you think you'd lose her, anyone but her.
"baby, you're bleeding." blood covered your hands and his, practically dripping down your face. "we need to get you to a hospital."
but you were beyond the point of caring, blubbering with few whimpers between. all you could think was your pretty sister, a husband and a kid, burned away in an explosion. she was gone and she was not coming back. "i- i can't." hyperventilating out the words. "i can't l-leave."
"i got you." you felt him help you off the stone ground, your knees weak. though nothing really registered, a ringing in your ears. even hours later, he kept repeating the same words. "i got you. i got you." sitting on the hospital bed next to you while you sat with a sullen look in your eyes. you were far away, that much was obvious but no longer stained with the vicious blood.
"she's gone." it came out much calmer now, though tears still coated your glassy red eyes. "why didn't you take her and not me?" though it was a stupid question.
even in your clouded mind you knew that if he could do it all over again, he wouldn't change a thing.
"i had to save you." he answered.
when he saw you were in that flipped over car, knowing there was a chance he could have blown up with you, he took it anyway, grabbing your limp body without hesitation.
he'd rather die than let something happen to you.
and in this case, he'd rather let someone else die than any harm to come to you. and that was simply something he wasn't afraid to admit.
he could lose. he had lost. he lost almost everything from his family to the world around him. but he couldn't lose you. no, anything but you.

Moments between Jason Todd and his lover, whos apart of the League of Assassins btw
- Based on these headcanons I made
⚠︎: mentions of death, injures, not much gore, swearing and complicated feelings, also this is unedited so sorry for any typos or errors
Tumblr media
"This shit sucks ass."
"Jason please stop with the swearing."
You both stumbled into his apartment, well your shared apartment. Coming from patroling the city you two were beaten pretty badly. Your League outfit that was once green and gold was now ruined in a blood red that was from your gashes and wounds.
Jason was beaten up badly too. His helmet was broken and he was supporting a black eye. His suit was ripped open showing newly fresh wounds.
The fight was just a hazy memory, you've both hit your heads a couple of times and right now it dosen't even matter. Whet matters most is that you both made it home.
To be honest you dont even know how you had the energy left to get back to his apartment. You thought you were going to bleed out so thats why you have Bruce's number on speedial at the moment.
You and Jason ended up in the kitchen before slowly falling to the cold ground. Not making it fully to the living room and covering the floor with dirt and blood. Both of you were breathing heavily without your masks on.
You two were lying on your backs heads faced toward eachother while your noses were almost touching. You beathed in his scent which smelt like blood and smoke and just smelt like the outdoors.
Some might say this would be a romantic moment.
Except for the fact that you both were bleeding out on the kitchen floor.
After a while of staring at eachother and wondering which one was gonna call for help first you whispered to him.
"We need to call for some assistance Jason."
"Its fine." He said while trying to get up from his spot on the floor. "I can get the medical kit, its in that cabinet."
The cabinet which he was talking about wasn't on the floor, it was a high shelf. Jason tried to stand up on his knees, but groaned in pain as he found his way back to the floor.
"Let me call Bruce."
"Hell. No"
"Jason-"
"Im not letting him save me. Im not weak." He groaned and you rolled your eyes.
"Jason, I am weak."
He paused for a moment. Seeing you both are in the same predicament. Both beaten, bloodied, hand and knees, chest and arms, canr barely move. He didn't want to pass out here, he didnt want you to either. He didn't want to calm Bruce.
"Call Alfred."
~~~
"Seems like you two got into some trouble?"
"Yeah a little bit." Jason responed to Alfred.
Alfred got you both to the couch and started on stiching your wounds. You both looked like mummies, but you both were cleaner than you were before.
"Thank you again." You spoke.
"There is no need for that, it is my job after all. Ive taken care of about 4 kids for all these years."
"Yeah, thank you Alfred." Jason responded.
"You're welcome." Alfred smiled at Jason and he gave a small smirk back. "So when are you going to tell master Bruce about the two of you?"
"Never." Jason said quickly. "I dont want him in my buisness, he'll try to take over my love live."
"Love life." You whispered but no one heard.
"He'll find out eventually you know?"
"Yeah"
"Until then we'll be fine Jason, I promise."
He was silent, he was thinking too hard and you could tell. The dim lights of the room gave a gloomy aspect but it highlighted his face well. Jason opened his mouth to protest like he always does, but you beat him to it.
"Im very good at keeping a secret am I not?" You teased waiting for his reaction.
It was a slight smirk but it dissappeared. "Yeah took a while to figure out you were from the Leauge. When you pretended you weren't apart of the League, that messed me up when you started training me."
"My best student." You whispered, guilt filled your heart when he brung up the past.
"Damn right." He smiled at you. For the first time today.
Tumblr media
The moon was brighter than usual as you stared at it encapsulated by its beauty. The Leauge made a huge deal about the moon. It felt like you were home.
Jason had left you outside by yourself a while ago saying he needed wine. You both took lawn chairs outside to Bruces huge acre garden to have some sort of alone time at Bruce's house. He's been taking a while to get the wine and you probably should assume that his brothers were taking up his time. You kept staring at the moon.
"Is it that interesting as they say?"
You sat up and turned slightly to see Damian taking Jason's seat next to you.
"If you look yes it is."
"Is it true you studied the moon?"
"A lot of questions young one." You smirked and he scoffed. "Yes I did. One time in Egypt I studied it and immediately got immersed in the study of space."
Damian hummed in response and was about to ask a question, but remembered your response to him asking another question.
"Why are you hesitant?" You asked and he tensed beside you.
"You can tell from the Leauge right? Their training?"
"It was interesting, but yes. Like Jason per say." He raised his eyebrows in question. "His senses are heightened because of the Lazarus Pit right?"
He nodded and you admired his focus to your words. "Think like that. You're truly advanced Damian, but not as advanced as me." You laughed.
"How can I be?"
"What do you mean?"
"I want to be better." He looked seriously into your eyes with nothing but determination.
"You dont want to go back there Damian."
"I know but-"
"But nothing, Damian." You cut him off sternly. "It's horrible, a bad place with bad people. I dont care if they are considered family. Family can be bad as well."
"What if I want to change the Leauge of Assassins."
"Change the Leauge of Assassins, the very same one that's under Ra's rule?"
"Yes. Didn't I make myself clear."
"Clear as the moon Damian."
It's not like you hated the Leauge. You had a love-hate relationship with them. But you and Damian had seen the worse of it all and both of you know you're both better off here than back there.
"Think about it." Damian spoke into the air. You nodded as you both satnin silence with the tension slowly releasing the air. The only noise was the occasional crickets and your own mind.
"Why?" You asked Damian.
"Again you ask me why?"
"I ask you "why" because I want a plan from you. I dont do anything without a plan."
Damian scoffed, "You and Jason go on rouge missions all the time."
"Those are supposed to be secret." You chuckled.
"He's not as discreet as you are."
You laughed and at the sound of your laughter Damian had a small smirk. These times with the Waynes had helped you highten your emotions. Always been taught that emotions will hold you back, that they'll make you weak is nothing now. Jason and you work out your emotions. Both expressing things you both never expressed before. Joy, love, compassion, jealousy, sadness, rage. All because of Jason, every day you see yourself grow more. And he can say the same about you.
"You tryna steal my girlfriend demon?"
Speak of the devil.
"No Todd, just having lively conversation." Damian spoke as he stood up. You noticed he was more relaxed than when he came out to the garden before.
"We'll I'll appreciate it if you would leave us alone for now." He sat down the red wine and glassed on the grass then he occupied himself with opening the bottle, his muscles flexing while he did so distracted you for a bit while Damian was yelling at Jason for taking up too much of your time.
Jason somehow got the last and Damian left with a huff.
"We'll talk later Damian!" You yelled after him. He just turned around with a nod acknowledging your statement and closed the glass door behind him.
"Lively conversation huh?" Jason asked as he handed you a glass and filled it up as you held it.
"Yes." You smiled.
"Thats all I get is a "yes"?" He complained.
"Mhm."
"You're an ass."
Tumblr media
It was a quiet night for Jason, I mean except for the Gotham noise below him. Crime has been slow, so he found his favorite rooftop that overlooked the city illuminated in its own beautiful way. Peaceful wasn't what followed him so he wondered why the universe gave him this.
"Funny seeing you here."
He turned his head slightly to see you walking towards him in all your assassin glory. Your outfit and mask was still on, but he could tell you're smiling. He really hit the jackpot today huh?
"You're back huh? To gloomy old Gotham."
"The mission was quick, too easy."
"Did you kill someone for me?" He chuckled while leaning against his shiny red helmet on the side of him.
"Of couse I did. For old times." You laughed while taking a spot next to him.
"Yeah, old times."
He had no idea why you were in his life. Why was the universe being so kind to him? This beauty sitting next to him, the night lights glowing softly on your face. You changed his life in so many beautiful confusing ways. Nothing was perfecy between you two and nothing will be stable, but to him its a perfect love story.
"Jason?"
"Yeah."
"Just I need-" You huffed out of frustration. "Kiss me." You blurted out while he just stared at you.
"Jason this was so long without you I need you to kiss-" You finally got what you wanted when he molded your lips together.
Your lips moved in unison while your hand traveled up his shoulder and to his neck and his hand help your waist. It felt like heaven ti Jason, your lips on his. His home. His gaurdian angel back in his arms. His hand around your waist gripped the fabric tightly wanting nothing more to rip the traditional armor off of you and feel you close.
He parted for a second for air. "You're home." His breath tickled your lips
You both were and hour away from your shared apartment, but you knew what he meant.
You pecked his lips. "Im home."
Tumblr media
The motel stinked, but it was the only temporary option.
Jason was lying on the bed on his laptop he somehow brought, am6d you were polishing your swords when he sat up beside you and pushed the computer in your lap.
"Egypt?"
"Egypt doll!"
You could tell he was excited about this. "What are you implying?"
"I'm implying that we go to Egypt. For a week? And we're going there for fun this time. You spoke very highly of it."
You glared at him
"5 days." He srunk
"Why Jason-"
"You always said you wanted to travel the world." Jason rebuttals.
"Yes I have expressed that, but-"
"But nothing. Im making this dream a reality."
Jason scooted closer to you closing the gap that was once inbetween you.
"Jason," You started. "Egypt is just one place."
"Yeah, but then we can travel from there." He smiled.
"Like Brazil?"
"If you want baby."
"Greece? Tokyo? Greenland?"
"All that and more doll." You gave him a look. It was a look of uncertainty. He knew that look too well.
Jason was reckless, you were too, in the field, not in real life. Money wasn't much for you because the Leauge would take care of it all, but Jason was different. You wouldn't want him spending money on you so frivolously.
"I'll do anything for you, you know that right." He whispered leaning in closer to you.
"Sometimes."
"I'll burn the Earth for you if you wanted."
"Im not used to hearing stuff like this said to me. You make me feel love again Jason." You whispered back to him.
Jason wasn't one to voice his emotions often so he just kissed you, hard. It felt like he wanted to devour you before breaking the kiss for a second.
"So, am I buying the tickets or nah?"
Tumblr media
"Jason im not leaving my home!"
"I thought you hated that place?!"
You and Jason had been fortunate enough to get back home before you both exploded on eachother. The pent up frustration from the last mission you were sent on by the Leauge caused tension between you, Jason, and his family as well.
Dick was worried sick about you. You came back with cuts and bruises adorning your body like jewels.
Tim did not expect the Leauge to not treat you after such a mission. He expected for them to take carew of your wounds but after you told them that and I quote, "We're told to take care of our own wounds, not to be a burden to others." He was fuming.
Damian was dissapointed. He knew you were the Leauge's top fighters, he respected you for that, but one of their top fighters should know their limits. You should have a say on what mission you take or not, but you don't which leads him to try and convince you to leave.
"They made me who I am Jason."
"Who gives a fuck?! I dont care! You're not a killing machine! You're a human!"
You scoffed at that comment, but that made him evem more enraged.
"Are you listening to me?"
"I hear you loud and clear cause your fucking damaging my eardrums!" You ran your hands over your head. "I dont know."
"You dont know what?" Jason sternly questions.
"Im conflicted."
"It shouldn't be that fucking hard."
"Maybe its okay for you to leave your family Jason, but I cant! My mother-"
"You dont have to." Jason interrupted you. He knew your mom died a long time ago. He knew that the Leauge took care of you in her place.
"I feel like that's all I have of her."
"Thats not true."
You both we're silent for a while. You refuse to let tears fall on your cheeks. Jason's hands were slowly releasing their hard clench.
"Im sorry." You said.
"Me too." Jason follows.
"We're really fucked aren't we?" You laughed a tear trickling down your cheek. Jason stepped closer to you and took his thumb and wiped your tear.
"Now look who's swearing now." He laughed. He pulled you in for a hug encased in his broad arms and rested his head ontop of yours. "And yes we are."
..........
You and Jason were cuddled up againt eachother with him fast asleep. He was snoring pretty loud and that woke you up out of your peaceful sleep.
Carefully, you slipped out of his arms and the covers and headed towards the kitchen for a glass of water.
You padded to the kitchen when you felt a presence in the apartment with you.
"Damian."
"How did you know?"
"I felt your presence." You smirked and he scoffed.
"Are you better?" He asks while sitting on the kitchen island.
"No." You chuckled.
You both were quiet with him not knowing what to say.
"Will you take my offer?"
"Which one?"
"To reform the Leauge of Assassins." He spoke in some sort of heroic tone he learned from his father.
"Ah I forgot about that one. When was this? December?" You teased
"June 13." He deadpanned.
"I know. Why would I take up your offer now?" You questioned trying to get him to spill.
"I want to go back just as much as you. But its horrible we could run it together!" He shouted.
"Keep it down." You shushed him "Jason is alseep."
"What's there to loose?" He grunted.
"Everything, Damian."
"What are you doing here at 3am?" Jasom stumbled into the kitchen wrapping an arm around you.
"You always have to interrupt our conversations Todd?"
"Yeah I want my girlfriend back to bed." He snipped while taking your glass and stealth a sip of your water.
"Damian?" You softly spoke.
"Yes?"
"Stay here tonight. I'll call Bruce and tell him that his son was worried about me." You joked and he scoffed again already gathering the blankets and pillows from the last time he stayed on the couch, turning on the TV making himself at home.
"Its like we already have a kid."
"Shut up." Jason rolled his eyes and chuckled before filling up the glass again and going back to bed.
"Damian." You called out his name again and he lifted his head from the couch.
"Let's have this conversation when you're older okay?"
He gave you a small smile before turning his attention back to the TV.
You cuddled back with Jason under the covers, he gave you a small kiss on your forehead before shutting his eyes.
"I think I want to change the Leauge of Assassins."
"You do you babe." He slurred.
"Jay Im serious."
"Im serious too. Do whatever you want I'll be here right by your side. No matter how dangerous."
"No matter how deadly?" You sighed.
"You know I love a good deadly mission once and a while." He smirked with his eyes closed.
"I love you."
"I love you too doll. And I'll follow you to the ends of the earth."
daddy’s girl.
pairings. jason todd x fem!reader
part three of n/a.
about. jason questions you, only to find something out that he didn’t expect.
Tumblr media
warnings. foul language, a little smut in the beginning
ricky rocks. lol i wanna kms
“you wanted this though, didn’t you jason?” you hiked up your plaid skirt with a devious smile, one that made his chest tighten. you plopped yourself down on his lap, so you were now straddling him, your hands on his chest as he seemed to try his best to lean away, but you had him trapped in that chair.
his breathing became strangled as he watched you and the way you seemed to get bored so fast before an idea flickered through your mind and you began to rock your hips back and forth with your barely clothed pussy rubbing against the rough lining of the zipper of his dress pants.
“i see the way you look at me,” your hips still slowly swayed in a circle as you tilted your head before closing your eyes as if a sudden wave of pleasure took over you, which wasn’t a lie with the zipper of his pants catching against your clit. “oh jason,” you groan, “i want you to make me feel good.”
he suddenly felt swallowed whole by everything of you and you’re scent of some fruity perfume. he had to stifle a groan with everything starting to get to him; the rotation of your hips that was slowly becoming painful against his increasing growing hard on, the small sounds of whimpers pushing past your lips, and even your hands that gripped his thin white tee-shirt for dear life.
“oh god,” you bit your lip before throwing your head back, one hand releasing his shirt before gripping your own, more specifically your breast that was peaking beneath the dangerously low half unbuttoned of your school shirt, begging for his attention. “oh, jason, please. feel how wet i am.”
before he could even think, your hand grasped his, placing it right beneath your skirt where your pantries were bunched to the side, giving attention to your bare cunt, indeed wet and desperate for his fingers.
“i want you to fuck me,” your hand released his and then clutched his zipper, pulling it down and then unbuttoning, revealing the white boxers that tried their best to conceal his obvious bulge. “fuck me, jason, please—“
—jason got up fast with a cold sweat dripping down practically every inch of his body. he looked around fast with flushed cheeks and a quick beating heart that he swore was going to crack his ribs. a feeling of absolute despair clouded his brain at the realization of everything that had just went down within his very own conscience.
“fuck,” he drug his hand down his face, wiping it from sweat and sleep, trying to fix his mind straight.
for the past week all jason could think about was you. even without the whole part of you being looped into an ex drug and sex trafficking operation, you were always bearing in his mind with every fucking move you made.
he didn’t get you. he couldn’t figure you out at all.
even after going to bruce.
“you realize you’re putting us in a very bad position, right?”
“no, dick, i didn’t,” bruce didn’t show an inch of remorse nor surprisal as he tinkered with one of his gadgets.
“if what jason is saying, is correct, that could mean a number of things that could all lead to bad things,” dick had his hands held out, enunciating the best he could, like he was talking to a child, but bruce still didn’t look up nor show any real sign that he was listening. “things that could include a death.”
“no need to get dramatic, dick,” bruce shook his head while setting down his piece of work, finally looking up to his two sons who stared at him with serious statures. “you two are thinking way too far into this than you need to be.”
jason’s brows narrowed in as he stared at bruce in disbelief, “you do realize i killed her pimp.”
“i’m sure she’s grateful,” he turned in his chair, starting another project. “maybe ask her about it instead of being a crook and making it a larger deal than needed.”
the fact that bruce couldn’t care less annoyed him, further more leading jason to disperse from the house for another month—something you weren’t surprised by nor cornered, because you had no idea what was really going on.
you grew accustomed to jason’s absence and you found it a lot more enjoyable than you originally thought you would. especially since you could breathe without him questioning your next move.
jason, however, was finding it quite difficult without your presence.
“master todd, we didn’t expect you.”
jason disregarded alfred as he made his way in the mansion, nodding to his words, “don’t worry.”
“not staying for long, i assume?”
“who knows,” he trudged down the entrance of the foyer before making his way to the staircase that led to the bedrooms, picking out to yours.
“c’mon, let’s go,” he opened your door without a knock, revealing you standing in the midst of your room, putting things away at your desk. “i’m only going to ask you once, let’s go.”
a strange look crossed your face as you stared at him, not knowing what to say, not really knowing what to do until he moves away from the door and back toward the stairs.
you follow him and don’t stop till he stands by his bike.
“you’re gonna have to tell me where we’re going if you want me to get on that with you.”
“what, you scared?” he hummed, pulling out a helmet before offering it to you.
you slightly smirk, swaying on your feet, “no, not scared, just don’t trust you.”
jason scoffed, “you’re one to talk.”
“and you’re a saint?”
“just take the damn bike helmet and get on.”
“only if you let me drive it,” you eyed him up and down with a smirk.
“yeah, you wish, princess.”
**
“you initiating me into your gang or something?”
jason didn’t even attempt to answer as he rolled his eyes, continuing to lead you down the busy side walk where he soon walked into a diner that you hadn’t ever seen before.
you still paused, looking the building up and down in hesitation, your chest burning with the analyzation of the building. you had no choice to follow him in.
“you want to be friends now?”
“whoever said i didn’t?”
you slid into the other side of the booth that jason had chosen.
“i don’t know, it seems you have a strong repulsion whenever i come within five feet of you.”
“and you’re not the same way?” jason thinks of the revolting attitude you carry against him ever since the christmas party and he’s almost annoyed that you were trying to pin the hostile nature between the two of you on him.
“why’re you so concerned how i feel about you?” you leaned forward on your forearms, narrowing your brows on him.
you were being contradicting and he couldn’t tell if it was purposeful or not. either way, jason could feel his annoyance building up progressively and he was beginning to regret wanting to talk to you.
“maybe i find you intriguing,” it’s the best he could come up with as he shrugged simply, clasping his hands in front of him on the table top. “i mean ex-stripper, you gotta have some stories.”
any sign of amusement drops from your face as you now slightly glare at him, surveying his face, looking for what his game was.
“funny.”
“you think so?” he now leans back in the booth, more relaxed now that the conversation was going his way. “i think so. i think it’s really ironic too, you know? because of bruce and i also shutting that place down.”
“i think it’s really ironic that that’s where you brought me today,” you weren’t entertained at all, and at first you thought it was some coincidence that jason took you to this diner the that used to be the exact strip club you worked at before this conversation was brought up.
you were beginning to think it wasn’t a coincidence at all.
“funny.”
“you think you’re so smart jason todd,” you mirrored his slack position against your side of the booth, but everything about you was still tensed and annoyed. “maybe take time to actually read between the lines and not what was just on the police report.”
“there was no reading between the lines with your case, y/n. there’s millions that i’ve been through that mirror exactly yours with every minor detail. stay mad that i killed your pimp.”
“he wasn’t my pimp, asshole.”
“then who was he?” jason quirked a brow, “your manager? your friend? your boyfriend? whatever label you had on that man, it doesn’t change who he was. he’s still a guy who marked your body for prices.”
your face was screwed up, lines of slight confusion inking your expression as he spoke, “he was my father.”
the temp (2/2)
a/n: was debating on making this a time skip so you can all see the lovely couple in action. But then I realized I like the build up way to much to hit fast forward. So here we are! thank you for all the love on the first part, and I hope you enjoy <3
warnings: attempted robbery, cursing
Jason Todd x fem!reader
Admittedly this wasn’t your finest hour. No it wasn’t. And if the looney tunes pajama pants, GCU hoodie and crumpled dollar bills in your hand wasn’t enough to point that out, then it was surely tour aversion to being robbed.
It’s 3am and you’re walking back home from your fairly quick drugstore run. It happened suddenly. With your brown bag filled with cold and flu assortments a random person with a very clear knife in their hands came up to you.
“Give me your money.” they said.
In-between the last of the cold medicine you took an hour ago (which was expired but you decided that a little bit wouldn’t hurt you too much) and the actual cold symptoms themselves, you couldn’t give a shit what this person wanted from you.
So you did something stupid.
“Fuck you, get lost.” you said.
They looked at you like you had grown a second head. They literally tilted their head to the side as they did. It made you realize what you just said and what type of situation you were in.
You handed over the crumpled ones quickly. The person took it and pointed to the bag with the knife.
“It’s cold stuff dude. I’m sick.” you said.
They shake their head, “you gotta do better than that.”
“I’m literally dying here. Maybe you can do better here.” you answered.
And then the person moved like they were gonna attack you. You moved back and kept your bag close to your chest. Then a floor of red appears behind the robber. It takes less than ten seconds for the robber to be knocked unconscious.
Now your faced with THE Redhood. He’s breathing a bit hard and looking down at you. Of course with the helmet on, so maybe he’s not even looking at you. But that’d be rude wouldn’t it? Well he isn’t walking around like superman or something with a smile.
“Thank you for,” you look down at the robber, “that”
“No problem. Are you hurt?” he asks.
You shake your head and it causes a slight headache. It makes you wince a bit. This is interpreted by Redhood as pain. He reaches his arm out but retracts it.
“I’ve got a cold. Headaches. Sorry.” you say.
He nods his head once.
“Thanks again for saving my life.” you say.
And you want to facepalm because you’ve already thanked him and now you’re doing it again. But he just nods.
It feels awkward. You think surely there are other people in danger in Gotham. There was no need to stick around here. Was it pity? You look down at your choice of attire. Yeah it had to be petty.
“Nice outfit.” he says.
“Than-” you begin.
When you look back up he’s gone. It makes you take a step back. You crane your head around to look for him. But it makes no sense to do so, he’s gone. You don’t waste any time and fast walk back home.
You get inside your apartment and lock your door. And then you let out the breath you’ve been holding since- since you don’t know where.
-
Because of your cold, you don’t show up for two days. Which would surely undercut the whole reason you were employed. A temp. When you get back you need to thank whoever took your workload over.
In the span of two days, two weird things happen.
One is the vase of flowers that show up at your door. There is no doorman so the delivery guys are able to come and go as they please. But so are package snatchers. You, being sick, were home so your packages were safe.
specifically this one. A small vase of flowers. Assorted. Really pretty. And really thoughtful. There was a card tucked between a few petals near the front. You took it out to read.
You brought the vase in and placed it on the kitchen table. Then you finally opened the card. To your surprise it wasn’t a co-worker that sent you the sweet gift. No it was your boss. Your boss boss. Okay you aren’t sure how many boss you have to put but it was frickin Bruce Wayne.
Bruce Wayne!
It was a simple note. Just thanking you for your work and wishing you a speedy recovery. You didn’t know that he knew you existed. Guess he does.
Huh.
The second weird thing to happen was the night before you went back to work. With the fear of possibly spreading your cold to the office, you took another trip to the drugstore for masks and hand sanitizer.
You brought your items to checkout and were being checkout when the manager came by. His name is Russo. You’ve known him for as long as you’ve lived on this block which was going on five years.
Russo told you that your friend left you something. When you told him that your don’t have friends that would leave things for you in drugstores he tried his best to explain.
Apparently your friend, Redhood, left you some cash. To make up for the couple of dollars that the robber took from you. This didn’t make sense to you for a multitude of reasons. One of them being, the robber didn’t get far. You could’ve reached into their pocket and took your money back.
Another reason? The Redhood wanted you to have your money back. Surely he has better things to do doesn’t he? People to save? Jokers to beat up?
You took the cash from Russo, who also said that Redhood dropped off some security cameras for the store.
Huh.
-
You walk into the building for your first day back. At the security desk, Roy is typing on his computer. You send him a quick hey and he replies back with a wave.
The elevator ride is fairly fast. When you reach your floor you get off. The smell of office is probably one thing you didn’t miss. Paper and Ink. It’s been five years of being a temp and you haven’t gotten used to the acquired smells.
Or maybe it’s the mask you’re wearing. Maybe.
You pull open the office doors and walk through the threshold. As you do, you see some of your co-workers run over to you. They coo over you and your absence.
“How did you all time that so well?” you ask.
“We worked with Roy to send us updates.” Jerri answers.
The group of you talk for a bit. About your sickness, your attempted robbery and most importantly Redhood. You didn’t really have anything to say about the guy. It was a weird meet-up. You didn’t want to tell anyone what he left with Russo for you. No way. You know they would start calling your Hood’s girlfriend as a joke.
And you’ve got about two more months here before you’re gone. No way you could deal with that for two months.
While your nose deep in your work is when you see Jason again. He’s walking over to your cubicle with Roy in tow. The duo arrive with smiles on their faces. Knowing Roy and Jason by association you think it’s something really dumb. But you are glad to take a break from work.
“We’d just like to invite you to get drinks tonight.” Roy says.
“Oh cool. Fanny’s?” you ask.
“You know Fanny’s?” Jason asks.
You smile at that, “Yeah. There’s an assistant here that recommended it to me.”
“Funny you should say that. Because I was just talking about her.” Jason says.
You couldn’t tell what was funny but you decide to smile and nod anyways. Your mind was letting you wander a bit. Jason Todd was really cute.
“No you weren’t.” Roy says.
Jason smacks Roy’s back, “Oh I was. Because you know, Roy here has a bit of a thing for the assistant in question.”
You gasp and shoot out of your seat. It makes Roy’s shoulder shrug. Jason’s expression changes too but you can’t quite tell what that change is.
“I think you two would be so cute together! Oh my god, this is great. You should extend the invite!” you say.
Roy shushes you and walks further into your cubicle. Which is saying a lot because there is probably only room for one person and their coat. Jason hangs over the side of your cubicle wall.
“Are you serious? I’ve got a plan. I won’t do this like some lovesick fool.” Roy says.
You nod your head in understanding.
“Of course, because you're totally not in love with said assistant. Totally.” you joke.
Jason laughs.
And you didn’t know how a sound could have such an affect on you. No seriously, you smile at the sound of his laughter. You have to focus back on Roy because if you don’t- embarrassment!
“Not yet at least.” Jason adds.
Roy turns to him swiftly. He shushes him too. Then he turns back to you, pointer finger in your face. You watch with a laughter on your lips.
“You’re a menace just like him.” he says.
You look over at Jason, “Team menace then. I’ve got ten bucks on him confessing tonight.”
“Oh, you don’t know Roy. I’ve got twenty that he says nothing tonight.”
You get up and shake Jason’s hand. It’s just fun between friends. Yeah. Friends. You were friends with Jason Todd weren’t you? You’d have to ask him that to be sure.
Except how can you be sure when he hasn't let go of your hand and he’s looking directly at you. Maybe you’re not complete over your sickness because you could be imagining this.
“Ah great now my only friends are teaming up against me.” Roy sighs.
Roy basically gives up and leaves your cubicle. He doesn’t even notice that you two are still shaking hands. You think Jason would follow behind him but he doesn’t.
His thumb rubs over the back of your hand. It’s a bit ticklish but you decide to bite back the instinct to laugh. You could not ruin this with your inclination of being tickled.
“Uh, so about this invitation...” he trails off.
You cock your head to the side, “Do you not want me to go?”
“No! I do. I so want you to go!” he shouts.
This garners some hushes from around you. It’s then you decide to pull him further into your cubicle. By the ends of his brown leather jacket, which surprises him a bit. But then again ever interaction with you is surprising.
“So what is it?” you ask.
He shakes his head from his thoughts.
“I was just- the invitation sounded friendly. And I wanted to, well I don’t know how to say this really, I wanted to make it not so friendly. But like not in a creepy way.” he says.
You can’t help the giggle that comes out. He was rambling here. Blushing too. And his eyes were going all over the place. He was nervous.
“Totally not creepy.”
Jason smiles.
“Okay then. I’ll see you later tonight.” he says.
And with that he slowly backs away from your cubicle.
Jason figures that the moment you two met, he was always going to ask you out. But the process was definitely sped up when he saved you that night as Redhood. After seeing you in a dangerous position that night, it hit him that anything could happen. He would know that out of all people, look at his life.
And Roy reminded him of this too when he got back from patrol that night and told him about what happened. Roy also reminded him that you were a temp with two months left on the job and that he’d better get your number at least before you finish your time at the office.
Now Jason has a date with you. The Temp with the looney tunes pajamas. He’s not a writer but it sounds like the start to something great.
