I see we’re just reposting things without sources for some reason?? I’m going to go out on a limb here and say it’s because the tweet used the magic word “Zionist” which is taken to be “irredeemably evil and vile person”. For context, the context which that tweet purposely left out (and yeah I’m going to say it’s fucking purposeful) is this article by the NPR. Inside this article the allegedly pro-Palestine posts on social media were fucking videos of the Hamas on October 7th. So, yeah if you’re reposting antisemitic stuff (blatantly antisemitic too), fuck you.

The images that came out of Israel on October 7 were brutal and graphic, and the images coming out of Gaza for months now are constant, also brutal and horrific. All this violence is being shared on social media, and as KQED's Lesley McClurg reports, that's affecting the mental health of Americans with loved ones in Gaza and in Israel. A warning - this story contains descriptions of violence. LESLEY MCCLURG, BYLINE: Some of the footage Shoshana Howard (ph) saw on social media months ago still haunts her. A video appears to show a Hamas fighter pulling an Israeli hostage from the trunk of a jeep. CNN aired a clip of the video. (SOUNDBITE OF ARCHIVED RECORDING) UNIDENTIFIED PERSON: Her face is bleeding, and her wrists appear to be cable-tied behind her back. MCCLURG: It looks like blood is seeping through the back of the woman's sweatpants. SHOSHANA HOWARD: And that broke me - and then seeing friends calling it liberation. MCCLURG: Howard, who is Jewish, couldn't believe people she knew were writing comments online that, to her, felt inhumane and anti-Jewish. HOWARD: That's when I started to have night terrors, and I was ending my days going into my closet and just would cry. MCCLURG: She couldn't stop thinking about her cousins living in Israel. As the days passed, it became harder to focus on her life and work in Oakland. HOWARD: Like, I just was so fragile. MCCLURG: And then recently, she felt shamed by a friend who told her her grief doesn't matter when so many Palestinians are suffering.

Is it “making the argument” to point out the hypocrisy of saying the Houthis (a terror organization) are protecting international laws and human rights when there’s documented evidence of Houthis perpetrating slavery, diverting humanitarian aid, and so on? Or you know, is it providing necessary context that readers might want to know?

And the comments below that tweet are awful (with a few exceptions rightfully pointing out accuracy of said community note and how slavery is in fact bad).

Antisemitic Tweet #2: There's been an influx of "community notes" that are clearly just people trying to protect the narrative.

Antisemitic Tweet #3: It's like the Israeli Bot accounts that change the community notes to favor Israel.

Already reblogged multiple posts explaining what's wrong with the Houthis with sources attached, so linking those now to save space (rather than adding ten different links).

This? This is what you say on October 7th, 2023?

Shaun: Lot of reaping being condemned by the sowers today. Shaun (cont.): I'm talking about politicians who stridently oppose all options except those which lead to violence and then act shocked violence occurs. Their condemnations of violence are worthless while they ignore their hand in the apartheid causing it.

October 7th was an attack against civilians where hostages were taken, people were murdered, people who advocated for peace were harmed, killed, and so on.

I also noticed a tweet not too far down from that one which said the following:

Lots of people in these comments very mad that Palestinians aren't being victims of occupation in the right and proper way.

No, people are mad about civilians being massacred and taken as hostages by a terrorist organization. The lack of empathy is something.

Pet donation scams

What is a pet donation scam? - This kind of scam is most commonly done with cats though on occasion a dog is used. When someone is doing this scam, they have went on a private group or public site and saved the post there such as it’s images,story, and the owners name. The scam is that when they repost it to here, they have edited out any real fundraiser method and replaced it with their own fraudulent one. They don’t actually own the cat/dog but have copied the real fundraiser just enough to pass it off as their own pet. Nothing in the post tells you it’s someone else’s pet as they really want you to trust them enough to send money without looking too much into it. While the images and story are legitimate, the other information has been purposely removed. Nothing given goes to the animal in need.

Was there an ask sent? - Commonly found by asks that are sent requesting private answers. Recently, these asks tell you they don’t want people thinking you was pressured into sharing the post and people might be weird about it. Really, they just don’t want people seeing your answer when the ask is searched because you’d see how many others have got it and may have called it out. These asks are designed to guilt trip you and shame people who call them out but usually gives it away their not being honest since no one would ask you something like that. You might get this ask by sharing a trending/popular post.

How much content is on the account itself? - When checking the blog out that sent you the ask or has the post shared by someone you follow, keep in mind how many posts the account has overall. Usually there’s only a few trending/popular/fandom posts shared and then the pinned post itself. Their archive is usually turned off so you can’t see this; But scrolling for a few minutes should mean you’ll find the last post quickly. Turning on timestamps should also show you the posts were all shared at the same time too and they don’t have any tags either.

Have you asked them questions? - If unsure of the account’s legitimacy, I suggest asking them a few questions about the pet: How long have they had them? Do they have older vet records of past visits? Can they show you a recent pic of them holding their name on a paper near the cat? Would calling the vet itself be possible for donating? Any of these would be answered easily by someone who actually owns the pet. But those who don’t own them won’t be able to answer or properly.

What is a quick way to spot this scam? - Check the date of the pinned post. It’s usually only a few hours old, a day old, or even a week old. Another way is searching the bio to see if it’s been stolen off someone else. Look at the vet location and then press/hold or hover over the link they give you. If the country doesn’t match the state, it’s likely not the real owner of the pets link. As these suspicious accounts tend to impersonate the actual owners closely in order to look legitimate.

What to do once you figure out it’s a scam? - Warn anyone who doesn’t know it’s a scam and has shared the post unless they’ve called them out. Report the account for phishing (Report -> Something else -> Illegal uses or content -> Phishing), block them, then alert your followers as well. Keep in mind scammers will always delete/hide any replies/reblogs that have called them out.

i think i followed you Back In The Day, seven years and seven blogs ago, for something related to mass effect (zaeed? maybe? who could say) and it's wild to come back to this site years later and find you thriving, surviving, growing-- playing ffxiv! love that game. curious how you'll feel about some side characters in shadowbringers, but i won't spoil which ones.

i do have real questions, though; writing tools. not pens or software, but personal structure tools and/or guidance. what does a beat sheet look like, for you? do you have a favored way of outlining or note-taking on your own thoughts when putting a story together?

and... i'm really curious how you hold a big story together in your head while you work on it in pieces, especially for something like dangerous crowns. there's this larger story i've been chasing around for a while, and I can't quite wrap my head around how to write the political/espionage plot for it without feeling like i've actually written a children's pantomime. the best i've got so far is "research real life events and use those as my outline" but after a point it becomes hard to keep track of all the variables of who knows what about whom, who is planning x when y, etc, etc. the characters don't need to know all that-- and may never know some things-- but i feel like /I/ need to understand what's happening on the macro level so i can move the world around them appropriately.

short version: how do YOU wrap your head around writing complex plots?

hey, anon! i started endwalker this week after a long... uh... glamour detour, so don't worry about spoiling things. i spoil myself for a lot of stories on purpose anyway. let's just say i've been attached to one too many characters who got killed.

anyway. writing. i've always handled plots the same way: clear documentation. if i don't note it down, i'm not going to remember it. i've used the same table outline since around 2014. it varies in detail for different projects, but the core format stays. i know it's kicking around in my blog archive somewhere, but it's worth reposting once in a while because people like to ask about it. here's what it looks like, featuring plot points cribbed from an endeavour episode:

i used this format for an outline at work a while back, and the team found it easy to follow, which was a big day for my ego. keeping track of plot structure is even more chaotic at work because we have multiple writers who all need to stay on the same page. we have very meticulous notes on what the player should know at which point, when we're introducing new information, and what we know, but shouldn't tell. we're also not above leaving notes like "this character has to convey X," "this character has to learn Y here," or "this is a clue that they're planning Z." it can be super on-the-nose. all that matters is that it makes sense to you. because you're right - if you get too lost, you can write yourself into logic holes of tremendous proportions. ask me how i know!

[as a sidenote, researching real-life events as a starting point has really grown on me in the past few years. my lead on coh3 had me do it. he said we were dealing with real people's history, so we couldn't be cheap or play fastball - we had to be accurate to pay it respect. even if you're not writing historical fiction, it just gives you insight into how people behave.]

i would argue that the plot of dangerous crowns is actually not that complicated, maybe to its detriment. there's kind of a genre struggle going on. at voltage, we were taught romance fans came for the relationship beats and valued them above all else. in fact, leadership told us players got irritated - which meant less sales - when the plot was too complex and took time away from the making out. political thriller fans, by contrast, expect relentless twists, high stakes, and harsh consequences, and sometimes see the relationships as superfluous.

but whatever. the point is, when you look at dangerous crowns' structure, it's a pearl necklace: a chain of anchoring events. the "pearl" scenes are where Big Plot happens. they're the reason you want to write the story, and probably the ones you have the most vivid daydreams about. the scenes in between are the string. not flashy, but important because they connect the pearls. they build tension and add logic, cohesion, and context. take the opera and hector's failed assassination. those are pearl scenes. that's a burst of drama i really wanted the story to build up to. i also had other flashbulb visions. livia by the fountain questioning herself, marcus' macbeth moment, the temple riot, things like that. so the question was, how could i believably travel between these pearl scenes? how could i make these big showcase moments connect smoothly?

if you're having trouble holding the story together in your head, i would ask, "what are your pearls?" what are the anchor points? outline those. it might not look like a necklace yet, but you'll sort of see it taking shape. and then, once you can see where your heart's-desire milestones are, you'll have a clearer idea of what can't fire until you set it up first. two other neat things can happen here. you could find the rhythm of your pacing, or realize you have a lot more plot meat than you thought you did. even if you don't, you have some road. and if you can't think of the string, sometimes you just have to start writing the pearls and see what comes to you.

Custom theme:

This is a relatively recent change. There is two ways to view a blog, in dashboard (which is automatically available to everyone) and on your custom theme. Custom theme gets you your own tumblr blog page that allows you to access the archive feature. In order to get a custom theme, you must toggle this option:

[Accessed through clicking on your little account settings icon>settings>your blog name under "Blogs"]

You will then see this second option on your blog:

It will bring you to your own tumblr blog page. Yours will not look like this. I have a custom theme that makes it look like a computer screen. You can make your own, even if all you change is blog colors instead of finding a fancy one. Additionally, if you wish you can also make a fucked up mouse like the one above. You will have to find the tutorials to make your own mouse, I recommend saving a copy of your blog's html in case you fuck this step up.

Archive:

You can only get this function through the custom theme option! If you have this enabled you can access it through the meatball menu on your blog and it will bring you to a page like this where you can sort through by month, post type, and tags.

Tagging:

Add tags through clicking this button v

You can add tags to both reblogs and original posts that help organize your interests. For example if you have a tag called "art", and you click on that while on your blog you will filter to only have "art" posts.

Additionally tagging can be commentary too! Some people prefer to comment on posts through the tags instead of adding to the reblog chain or in the replies.

WARNING: REBLOGGING IS DIFFERENT FROM REPOSTING. REBLOGGING SPREADS THE POST AROUND AND THE OP WILL STILL GET ALL THE NOTIFICATIONS ON THE POST. REPOSTING IS COPYING THE CONTENT AND MAKING YOUR OWN POST WITH THE CONTENT.

Filtering:

You can filter tags and keywords on tumblr if you go to settings and scroll down to "Content you see". Filter out things you don't want to see or are cluttering your dash and you are not particularly interested in.

If your post is getting very long, its a curtsy to add a "read more" button. You can also add one by typing :readmore: on the mobile app (?). Posts can get very long and its hard to scroll through the mobile app without the desktop's shortcuts to next post.

However, many people are mischievous and will make purposely long posts and reblog them many times in a row. This is also fine, but people will often tag these posts as "#long post" so it can be filtered.

Additionally, turn your following and likes page private. This prevents people from digging into your tumblr activity. Some people may use the likes page to see if you are a real person instead of a bot so MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A PROFILE PHOTO AND A BLURB SO THEY DON'T NEED TO.

Xkit is a useful add-on to chrome or firefox and allows you to customize tumblr even further. I use mine to get back the old way of looking at posts (it brings you to the specific post by clicking on the url) instead of the new hit boxes and the time and date button on the meatball menu. There's also a couple accessability features on here, like putting the alt text for images in the post, and volume and audio controls among many others.

Knives’ Knives

Reposting another twitter thread I made for archival purposes. Its literally a copy and paste and more images are shown on the original twitter post just because tumblr is janky when adding so many images to a text post.

So I was watching tristamp for the hundredth time and noticed something I hadn't picked up on before. Millions Knives' blades have different modes. Four that we've seen so far to be exact.

The one shown here is most common. A default state, folded and seemingly duller than others. Even the wire connecting the blades is rounded. This is the form we see most often, and the only form shown directly in front of Vash (that we've seen so far, will touch on again later.)

These seem to be an attack stance for the blades. The wire even expands into what could cause more damage than just the blades alone. The first are pointed outward while the second is pointed inward, depending on the purpose being served- attacking versus grabbing.

We then have the detached blades. They start in the default state but seem to expand as more form.

Even in the preview for episode 11, Knives uses the folded, almost rounded blades. Because he's in front of Vash and doesn't REALLY want to harm him, at least not more than necessary.

Obviously, Nai uses the folded blades when trying to connect with the core. He does not want to harm it. The end of the blades act at a connecting point, and its likely very similar to how he connected with Vash in the first place.

What is particularly fascinating is that even when attacking Meryl, his blades are folded. It's most likely due to the fact that Vash is RIGHT BEHIND her and doesn't want to get him in the crossfire. His blades are still folded upon impact with Vash's gun.

He does not extend the blades at the start of their fight. Not once do they open beyond the folded state, not at a distance, and not hand to hand. Even when theyre out in the open and hes flinging Vash around, theyre still folded. We see him manipulate them with extreme accuracy, and yet even when they're in freefall, he does not USE THEM AT ALL. Not to grab Vash or the cube.

Even after slaughtering all the soldiers and he floats menacingly above Vash to continue their argument, his blades are folded. So, either he can still cause that damage while folded, or the more likely thing, is that he refolded them after killing them to confront Vash again.

The entire rest of their fight. Folded. Grabbing the angel arm. Folded.

HOWEVER. AND THIS IS THE MOST HEARTBREAKING THING OF ALL. ONCE HE HAS DECIDED THAT THE NAI THAT VASH KNEW IS DEAD. That is when the blades expand. Because he's snapped. Broken. He has /truly/ and /wholly/ become Millions Knives in that moment, because he has lost Vash.

Its also worth noting that his blades and his wings are burned off before he lets go. Something something symbolism. Anyway, hope you enjoyed the agony uvu

I found more things to add to the things that were said above upon another watch through. Not sure theyre particularly poignant, but thought they were interesting enough to tack on.

So I was watching ep3 and noticed how many times Knives swaps between the modes. The initial grab of the first women, the blades are pulled in the back position, but the second woman is grabbed with them in the forward position and dragged away and killed with the back position.

Immediately after, we see Knives advancing the steps and his blades floating around them in the forward stance. When they shoot forward to seek out the Plant, theyre back. As he goes to jump, theyre forward again.

As soon as the Plant is grabbed, the blades are folded, showing the care he has for them. There is one instance of them being forward, but likely just to get a more secure hold. Otherwise, always folded.

The ONLY INSTANCE (save for those final moments in 12) where Knives uses an "attack stance" of his blades in front of Vash is when he's using them to block bullets. In defense.

He is INCREDIBLY deliberate with how his blades are used and shows a high level of skill. He wields them with PURPOSE. Anyway, thank you for tuning into another episode of my hyperfixation o/

Kink meme archiving project: Star Trek

Hello! I've started a personal project in 2024 to archive the old kink memes on livejournal for my favourite show: Star Trek. I'll be working my way through them all slowly- so while I'm starting with the reboot one (which is a huge undertaking! will definitely take me a while) this blog will go through every single one I can find. This is not to repost fictions, you will not find actual works posted here just links to the original threads I find them on with additional links whenever possible to authors personal livejournals and other places they may have posted it, as well as a final link to where I am archiving said fics via the wayback machine-- Which seems to be as screenshots of the kink page as otherwise the comments (where the fics are) does not appear so please forgive any clunky/outdated appearances

This is not an ask blog, a rec blog, or anything else of the sort. It is purely for archival purposes to have everything located in one place-even then it is mainly to be used as a reference point for myself with my work with the wayback machine. As such asks will never be open and besides this I will not be posting anything besides links.

As it is not a rec blog or anything of the sort I will not be vetting the fics- by this I mean I will not be leaving anything (purposefully) undocumented in regards to these fics, regardless of how I or anyone else may feel about their subject matter--it is a Kink Meme and all possible warnings apply. I will be adding verbatim how the original prompts listed its kinks/warning and if an author added any warnings to the very start of the fic I will do my best to add them as well. But if you see a post and decide to read the fic it contains please do your own research if you know certain content upsets you.

I will not be saving unfilled prompts but the content that is there may not be complete either, basically as long as some sort of fill is there and available I will be posting it--If there claims to be a fic but I have no way to access it it will be made into a special post with screenshots and asks for help in regards to original content if I can not find it on any other archive-- a long shot but maybe someone knows someone who has screenshots or was the original author who can add a link to where they have saved their work!

All of this to say, while tumblr is questionable my posts may or may not end up in the tags, so I hope this pinned post is a useful as a sort of FAQ and that I don't get reported for spam or anything

projects like this are a big undertaking, and it's just me doing this, I can't be sure how fast or if at all I will complete this but I believe it's important to preserve fandom history, the kink memes are a big part of my fandom experience, and I've been so so happy to see them start to make a reappearance as 'prompt memes' on tumblr and A03, as the kink memes on livejournal are over a decade old there's bound to be TONS of fans who have never experienced them and find livejournal confusing to navigate, I'm hoping this inspires people to give older fics a try, give lots of love to those fic writers who might come across this blog, and even gives a boost to the current prompt meme revivals!

While asks are off, if you need to contact me you can reply to this post, I'm hesitant to give out my personal tumblr in case the content causes fandom wank--the internet is a very different place than it was a decade ago and terminology and kink that was commonplace in those circles may be harshly met now but we will see how it goes!

ALSO!!! if at any point in the future you see this and think this would be a good idea for other fandoms ( I know Glee has a fucking HUGE kink meme presence for example) you can just straight up go ahead and do it! no need to reinvent the wheel or ask permission if you like how I organized the info you can have the blue print-- I think the important part is archiving on the wayback machine. Think of how much past fandom history has been lost, and how much will be lost once old giants like livejournal and ff.net go down-- hell I think I even use to read fics on sites like quizzila at one point, gone now, and all the other places that existed like geocities, MAILING LISTS!! EMAIL AND GOOD OLD POSTAGE!

While A03 is doing amazing at archiving, places like the kink memes are hidden gems, so many fics are just small bits of love that don't get posted anywhere else and it's so sad to think about what will be lost.

I think I'm making steady progress! I know its going to be a slug getting through it all, just this one kink meme has 14 parts to it with like an average of 8000 comments each which could be like . . . at least a thousand or a good few hundred fics in each (would it be an 8:1 ratio??? i feel like that's too high) either way combined i'm looking at a good few thousand fics for ONE kink meme and there's TONS out there-- and if i manage to get through all of them before LJ gets shut down (this could very well take me years) then there's all the communities they get cross posted in who have their own fandom events and a whole bunch of fics to maybe also archive. Or just all the authors i'm finding who have other fics on their Journals who haven't been active in years! But I can't think that far ahead or I get overwhelmed, this is at its core a kink meme archive.

I've sorted out an issue I've had with a handful of fics where the adult warning archives instead of the fic. as far as i can tell there's no solution through it using the main archive (there is with other sites, but LJ is a special old girl) but there's a different archive I can use-though i cant seem to then archive THAT on the main site . . . so that's still a problem, but I've tagged those fics 'other archive' to come back to at a later date.

I have a hard time trying to locate other places people may have posted their fics if they don't leave me very obvious bread crumbs so if you (yes, YOU, the person reading this sometime in the future) see a writer you recognize you're more than welcome to tag them or add additional author info in a reblog or just whisper in the tags or reply (if this blog is still active mystery person reading this a decade in the future)

either way, i'm hoping to get through this particular kink meme by the end of the year. I know it's only 11 days into the new year but i'm really trying to pace myself so I don't burn out. I'm almost positive I can get through the first part this month so an average of one a month shouldn't be impossible (so average like a page and a half a day, which is still like 18 fics/per day)

24/1 lmao ok so I started Vyvanse, and I hyperfocused and basically archived 163 fics in the last 24 hours and finished the first of fourteen sections of the first kink meme on my list-- which is golden! Awesome! Spectacular! 410 fics in just that first part,( they tapered off from an average of 11 fics per page to 8 basically) I'm doing amazing! And--this is looking way to far ahead-- but I like to think now that I'm in a solid rhythm (of how to archive not how to pace myself) once all the kink memes are done I'll start a whole new blog and archive all the other trek comms I can find, because theres a lot of crossposting going on and theres just so many comms with their own special events and things that have been archived but on things like delicious which is gone or in blogs that have been deleted as a whole. like st-anon! But anyway I'm having a lot of fun! And I'm probably not gonna look at this blog for a week but I've got days in the bank baby!

19/2 I've reached part 3!!!! I'm right on track where I want to be mid february, there was a small decrease in the number of fics in #2 but a lot more than going through page by page made it seem-- a common theme I've noticed is misplaced comment fics, which is so fascinating! It's so easy to misplace your comment on threads, and instead of hostility or mod culling it's treated with comradery (get it?) and kindness. I'm still looking at around several thousand individual fics just for this kinkmeme and after this one there's so many more, one is already lost to a purge but there's at least one other huge one. My queue ran out the other day because I was dealing with a dead rat somewhere in my kitchen walls, very distressing, and a bit embarrassing cause this blog doubled its following in the last few days, and it definitely feels a bit strange to know that this project is getting attention. Feels a bit like I'm sitting on my bed, back to the window, and every time I peer around my shoulder I see more people peering down at what I'm doing. Which I WANT people to be able to do cause that's the whole reason I'm doing this but it's like a 'damn wish I'd thought to put pants on' kinda vibe. I don't feel very professional. But still . . . we persevere!!!

22/2 horrific news. Just realised I wasn’t counting the posts with multiple fics . . . As multiple fics. So even the posts with five individual fics. Have only counted as one in my count. The absolute buffoonery. The agonising idea of having to individually check each post. The massive urge to quit and sulk for five years. But still. . . We persevere. So I need to come back to stixk 1 & 2 and recount. But from the start of 3 we’re on track.

Hello everyone; just a quick PSA.

IZ-san has a tumblr now to post their own art. Meaning no one should repost their art.

If you haven’t looked at their guidelines, do so on their official site, they are translated.

Some important notes;

All edits of any type are prohibited.

Do not repost any skeb or priv related work from IZ; it is against their terms.

IZ has commented that since Tumblr is a heavily western environment that couples and non canon content will not be as restricted! Please still adhere to restrictions on platforms like Twitter and Pixiv since those are Japanese spaces!

This rule could change in the future, we believe IZ is just taking Japanese manners into account for spaces where Japanese and other Eastern origin fans are present!

Brief Explanation;

This is how the tagging system is run for Eastern fandom and especially for Witch’s Heart itself. The reason being is so that new comers are not confused by what the content of the game actually entails.

However! All ships, headcanons, etc are completely fine and approved for FUN by IZ-san so long as you’re polite and follow their rules.

Though as commented by IZ certain restrictions on Twitter or Pixiv wont be as heavily enforced here!

tetora x self insert (mihir), 0.9k words 💤

actually using this blog for the purpose i made it for- archiving! this is a repost of a lil drabble i posted on twitter earlier. you can find it on twitter here. my apologies if i tagged stuff wrong or something ahahaha

to be honest, a part of mihir had genuinely hoped the first part of the predicament sun had found sunself in, the singular bed with just enough space for two people, would somehow split into two while sun took a long, comforting post-rehearsal shower. which clearly did not happen, leaving mihir with the second part of the problem: suns boyfriend. tetora was sprawled on that very bed tapping at some game on his phone in earnest, oblivious to the thoughts swirling in mihir’s head.

stupid company always trying to cut corners. the least they could've done is give us a single room with separate beds!, the blond grumbled to bunself before returning suns gaze to sols boyfriend/unitmate/problem.

sharing a bed… there's always a time for firsts like that in a relationship, especially one as new as theirs, but something held mihir back. although tetora had been quite touchy-feely as a friend, he had become more closed off since they had gotten together, rarely initiating physical affection. was it nervousness? or was mihir doing something wrong? either way, sun had a feeling to not press about it.

after a lengthy mental debate, mihir finally walked up to the bed in the living area of the suite they were given. “i’ll be taking the couch”, mihir declared, hoping to sound steadfast. tetora sat up immediately, insisting that he should be on the couch instead, just as mihir had anticipated. sun hadn't missed the look of relief– or maybe disappointment?– that flashed across his face.

“you've clearly made yourself comfortable here. besides, it's not like i'm giving the bed up forever. we're so swapping tomorrow”, sun grumbled, throwing one of the smaller pillows that had fallen of the bed at some point right at tetora's face. bullseye!

mihir was already cursing sunself at suns stupidity. sol made suns way under the covers that adorned the bed, snaking sols way to tetora’s sleeping form. bun hadn't accounted for sols own sensitivity to the cold that made it unbearable to sleep on the couch and how much warmer sol felt around a certain boy before making sols proclamation to valiantly take the uncomfy option.

sun pressed up against the taller boy’s back, almost spooning him. despite suns efforts to not wake him up, sol felt tetora tense up. “ ‘s just me,” sun said, voice muffled as sol pressed sols face to the back of tetora’s neck. the older boy relaxed almost immediately with a soft exhale.

“it got too cold out on the couch”, mihir said, scrunching up sols nose, “you're always running hot, so i figured– i'm sorry–” tetora flipped over to face sol, face barely visible in the darkness of the bedroom to anyone who hadn't spent too long studying his features. “why are you apologizin’? i wouldn't have minded if ya just stayed here from the get-go, you know. we're dating, so, this kinda thing, ah, it's probably fine, right?”, he responded, voice still a little raspy and rough around the edges from sleep. being this close, mihir could almost feel the heat rushing to his face.

“don't blame me– you've been acting all weird and cagey about skinship lately. i thought you hated it! i didn't want to push you into something you didn't like– there's barely enough space for two people here. i thought you'd dislike being in such close quarters, so–”

“don't go thinking of everything by yourself! it's not that i hate it.. that's a total misunderstanding! i just,” tetora paused, one hand coming to awkwardly scratch at the back of his hair. “cus, well, it feels different with you. when i hold hands with hinata-kun or link arms with hiiro-kun, my heart doesn't start beating like crazy and my mind doesn't go blank– even now, with you so close, it's like the air’s knocked outta my lungs. it's seriously so uncool, it's not manly at all to get that bothered just by a tiny touch from your partner, to wanna be oh so close to them all the time! i don't wanna show you my embarrassing, childish sides, i wanna be cool in front of you! isn't that what every guy would wan- oi?!”

his rant was cut short but mihir leaning in to press a soft kiss to his lips mid-sentence. pulling away shortly after, mihir smiled at him in an impossibly fond way that made tetora’s stomach do acrobatics. yeah, this is definitely bad…

mihir cupped his cheek, squishing the stubborn bit of baby fat there a little. “stupid kotora~ the cute parts, the cool parts, the ugly parts, all of them make up my beloved tetora and i adore all of them, alright?”, sol shifted slightly to allowed sun to pepper soft kisses all over tetora’s face– the tip of his nose, his lips, the part of his forehead hidden behind still-damp bangs– “you don't ever have to hide anything from me. no matter what cheesy thing you say, or how clingy you act–”, this earned a whine from tetora– “you're definitely the coolest to me. you don't ever have to worry about that.”

tetora took this as a cue to snuggle closer, nuzzling his head into the crook of mihir’s next. sun adjusted sols arms to cradle him even closer, dropping another small kiss on top of his head as the response to a soft, muffled “i love you” leaving tetora’s mouth as they both drifted off to sleep.

You were a small kingdom by the sea, unassuming but important. Ethically harvested pearls and shells were used in everything, makeup, decorating, medicines, meals. Epel was pretty, kind and respectful. Your first introduction went smoothly despite your nervousness. He seemed like the perfect husband. Like he was raised since birth for this purpose.

Too bad he wasn’t. Epel had been on his own for as long as he could remember. This was awful but he survived, and well enough to gain some notoriety among the unfortunate.
