A Marvel Family Fantasy AU
A few days ago, I randomly dreamt of Drawing Billy and Tawny in a fantasy setting.
Billy was this kid wizard and Tawny was his companion (or an animal to ride on like a horse)
Then it got me thinking, maybe in this setting, Mary could be someone of high status in this fantasy setting (since she's in a rich family in the golden age comics)
I'm inclined to think Freddy would be a captain of a ship for irony-sake but I have a feeling pirates and fantasy settings don't match well?
It's just funny for me to think of him with a peg leg xD

Maybe Billy and Mary were prince and princess separated by birth, (i'm not sure if its a kidnapping or the baby got lost on his own) but the wizard founded billy and trained him.
At the ripe age of (insert young age below a teenager's), The wizard decided to grant him the power of shazam to turn him into the world's mightiest Wizard!
Captain Marvel!
Wizard dies and then Billy and Tawny have adventures together, maybe helping people along the way (maybe somehow found out that Mary is his sister :p idk)
“ I think you could go angst if you made the wizard get brutally hurt in a battle to protect Billy and the rock of eternity so in a last ditch effort he transports the rock to its own pocket of existence and then giving Billy powers of shazam because its as ready as he'll be able to make the kid :) and it's his last effort for Billy to be protected even if he has to do so himself because he has failed :)) made Billy cry as Wizard turns into dust in Billy’s hands :)))”

Uncle marvel can be a con-man/thief who took pity on Billy or realiz, teaching Billy that the world isn't always honest and he's like, "Billy, don't always give money to the poor on the streets, sometimes they faked their illness to be lazy”

How Billy Met Freddy
Billy probably met Freddy in a bar fight. How did the kid get into a bar?
Billy looked at the man exiting the pub with a bottle.
Billy: Ohh! So this is where you get refreshments here! I wonder If they have enough Milk for Tawny..
Pub sign written NO KIDS ALLOWED!"
*Billy can only read magic scrolls and not regular alphabet*
Cue him meeting Freddy (who's armwrestling with one of the people there)
(Insert Bar fight for some reason because The child decided to drink a white cocktail thinking it was milk and the fact that Billy is a Kid)
“Freddie is definitely that kid having his ass thrown out of the bar/pub/inn”
I'd like to think he and his brother are a team, prolly sailed a ship together.
“Yes, they target slave ships. Unless you wanna go different routes. Then, he is focused on certain nations' flags that have a whole lot of red in them
Also, he goes to the bars just to start bar fights over drunks being mean/nasty to the landlady. The landlady doesn't appreciate it bc now she has a broken table and four broken chairs”
Freddy faces the Captain Nazi equivalent of a pirate [Captain Arian? Like Aryan?] XD, Freddy lost his leg the same way, from his encounter with Captain Arian.
Kit (probably a necromancer or a ghost who's cursed to be bound in the ship Freddy's in, making Freddy more attached to the ship) can still summon crewmembers.
Maybe they both meet mary during the birthday ceremony parade
Maybe Mary snuck off from her family (disguise herself as a regular girl, i know, generic plot) and then meet Billy accidentally
Billy: It's my birthday today!
Mary: What a coincidence! It's mine too!
The-brash-spud: “Billy, in his innocence, thinks ,"There must be something to us sharing birthdays!" While Freddy calls him stupid, Billy tries to get a look at the princes and then cue the lung-fu panda rocket incident, but maybe something else more fitting with Freddy being pulled along”
On an unrelated note, i think Billy knew about Freddy's peg legafter either a pirate slashed it clean and Freddy just used it to bonk his head.
Billy is still screaming from the shock and immediately casted healing spells (i'd like to think everything about billy is lightning based- so yes getting struck by lightning is a healing spell for him :D) Freddy got shocked lmao
And what about boarding Tawny on the ship?
Billy:"Please???"
Freddy: "I'm not letting a tiger into my ship."
Kit who absolutely adores animals: "YES"
Freddy:"NO!”
Kit:" Does he love belly rubs??"
Billy:" yes but you have to ask him politely for his permission-”
Freddy rolled his eyes, realizing he has to clean cat fur everyday off from the furnitures.

How did Mary, a royalty tag along with a kid wizard and a pirate?
“Yeah, I guess forced separation would work better. Hell, go with a scenario that will allow them to have Mary with the parents' blessings as long as she's kept safe (she isn't, but that's because she is the danger herself)”
Mary and Billy: "Yay adventure"
Freddy: "Oh great, now I have to take care of two kids and a tiger in my ship!?"
*Freddy looking at Kit and the kids + a tiger playing together, kit seems happy*
Freddy: "...i guess it's alright..”

How Freddy and Mary found out about the wizard?
“Hmmmm, maybe Billy takes them to the rock because they were in a pickle, and unforeseen effects happen?
They got surrounded maybe?
Also I can see the aftermath
"You were raised by THE Wizard!? THE Wizard?! A Wizard of legends so often told he is recognisable even if his name was lost?!"
"Oh, his name is Shazam-" *BANG*”

Hopefully i could draw these AU ideas, I don't plan on making this into a story, i just like the concept that my dream gave my a few days ago and I’m just expanding it. Sorry for too many text xD

In love with the idea of captain marvel being Billy's imaginary friend. Like, it'd be so easy. Early depictions had them as almost fully separate people sometimes, like one soul with two minds, rather than just two filters like we mostly see now.
But imagine a Billy down on his luck, hurt and hiding from police and criminals alike, daydreaming the hours away as children do, taking inspiration from all the superheroes rising to fame, making little stories to play out his dreams of saving the world with a generic action doll he found while dumpster diving once. Most of the paint's rubbed off.
Red's his favourite colour, his comfiest jumper is a bright ruby even after all the grime and washes. Gold, too, it's shiny and warmer than silver! A hero cape is a must, big and eye catching! And he can fly, of course, like superman, and in his daydreams, when he's sore and frustrated after a long day's grind, his superhero is smart enough and knows all the right words to get the bullies to stop without resorting to fighting.
His superhero fantasy is one he spends a lot of time on, the first one he goes for when struggling to sleep at night, and he can picture it so clearly. Captain marvel is big and bright and kind, strong enough to lift the boxes for the old lady up the road who's moving all by himself, fast enough to catch Jamie who fell out of the tree on Saturday and broke his leg and couldn't come to class for weeks. He appears at the entrance to alleys when Billy is cornered, he steps up behind to cover for him when he gets caught shoplifting, he sits at the bus stop with him when it's pouring rain and the right bus doesn't seem to be coming.
And then the wizard comes, or rather whisks him away, and like a magician from a fairytale breathes life into his imaginary friend until Billy feels thrice his size and a million times more invincible.
From then on, captain marvel is a real hero, just like Billy is a real boy, and as one they save the whole city, and then the whole world, and get cats down from trees and help Mrs Victoria move the last of her boxes and she gives them a pinch in the cheek and cookies for the road and sometimes it hurts but it's so much better than he imagined.

But you can't expect an imaginary friend to do your taxes!#Why is cap so eternally kind and bubbly and a bit childish? That's because his creator is a kid! Duh!#This particular imaginary friend just so happens to have encountered magic and is now real enough to play basketball with asteroids.#He's strong enough to match superman but it's fine he's got a child's heart and an unending protectiveness for humanity.#Just don't try anything with the kid or you're toast.#I love the jl needing to save/help Billy in some way and cap; who's practically the jls puppy mascot at this point#Is just shamelessly and unrepentantly possessive of Billy while being openly wrapped around his finger. Number one fan#Like 'he's the specialist boy and if you don't clap for him I'm going to blow this whole building up' type#Have you read Split on ao3 it's like that. Cap is the most unaffiliated person on the team and then bam Billy is number 1 priority 100%#Go read split if you haven't 10/10#Like it never crosses caps mind to hinder or harm Billy he is Devoted. Platonic God/worshipper except the deity in question is an 11yo#And the worshipper is the closest thing to a deity without being one you can get in dc.#But like a healthy relationship lmao.#It's a soul deep claim with total freedom on both sides and they teach each other love and they're the same person#AUGH

is there a story or scenario about billy you would like to write someday?
There are so many stories that I want to write about Billy, a few I've mentioned here but most I haven't. I have a document on my computer that just has various fic ideas (probably close to 100 if not more) that I want to write and like 95% are about Billy.
One specific story idea that I haven't talked about on here before is my medieval fantasy AU that was born from the complete lack of Billy content in Dark Knights of Steel.
So basically Billy's origins are still mostly the same. His parents die when he's young and he's forced to live as a beggar taking what jobs he can: running errands, delivering messages, and eventually working as a servant for a noble family. But one day he is drawn to a strange cave where the Wizard Shazam lives as a hermit. He takes Billy on as his apprentice teaching him all kinds of magic. But he also teaches Billy to read and write, how to make potions, how to ID monsters etc. In exchange Billy cooks and cleans and delivers him news from the outside world.
Billy, being Billy, takes what he learns and tries to help people around him, crafting a disguise (his Captain Marvel form) so no one learns he has magic as its frowned upon in some places. He gains a reputation as a benevolent and mysterious mage.
Shazam, after spending time with Billy, realizes that he would be the perfect host for The Marvel, a magical being created by the gods as a guardian. The Marvel is meant to attach itself to great heroes, but Shazam believes that Billy’s selflessness makes him more heroic than any knight. When Billy takes on The Marvel he gains access to those powers in his kid form but primarily uses the powers in his disguised form.
Eventually the Justice League (who are essentially the knights of the round table) come to Shazam for help with a magical monster terrorizing their lands. He tells them they must prove themselves in battle against his champion before receiving his help. Then out steps teeny tiny Billy who they had assumed was Shazam's servant. They refuse to fight him and Billy beats them up. But Shazam sees that they are good people with pure intentions and strict moral codes, so he agrees to help.
Shazam sends Billy to deal with the monster and soon Sir William Marvel becomes a knight of the round table, traveling to the various kingdoms of the other JL members. Only the other members of the JL know he's a kid as he puts on his disguise when he's with them.
Mary will be there as his long lost sister who became the ward of a wealthy noble family. Freddy will be a kid who had dreams of becoming a knight but an injury kept him from being a squire. There will be a lot of cameos from my other favorite DC characters too.
This idea requires a lot of world building but I love it and I'm excited to write it someday!

An AU of DC with a mass crossover of PS4 properties.
Provisional name: Players Searching for Detectable Changes (Get the pun?)
The setup:
This is the future of DC, a world where the old guard has slowly withdrawn and the newer generations have risen to the occasion. The original Titans in particular, most of which have formed the new Justice League while many other, very similar teams had started to form across the world. One of which was a resurgence of the Teen Titans, led by an older and purified Raven. She wanted to make the Teen Titans something akin as it was for her, a place to belong and learn to use one's powers.
The first 'class' of such individuals include:
Stargirl (of the now-disbanded JSA and still getting used to the Starrod)
Blue Beetle III (Freshly attached to his alien symbiote and freaking out a bit)
Robin V (to work on his anger issues, mostly at the new Batman's request)
Kaldur (a half Atlantean half metahuman who is struggling with his identity and the surface world, Aquaman feels a kinship for the boy seeing their similarities)
Static Shock (a promising new hero but little experience working outside his city or in groups)
Mary Marvel (she's... she's going through alot. Fresh from a coma, her brother is distant as he acts as the new Wizard, and she may be, sorta kinda, being corrupted by Black Adam's gifted power)
The team was rough and there was plenty of head butting (Mostly between Stargirl and Robin/Damian as one is almost the unanimous leader while the other thinks he should be) but they were getting there. They were more of a clean up crew for the Justice League, they did more than the "kiddie missions" that the Outsiders didn't do, and they meant more than the PR grab that was the International team. Though they didn't seem to amount to more than that. They still did their best, pushing past the silent ridicule, as they went about their missions.
This may be why tempers were so high that day.
One day, outside a little city by the name of Weller's Point, the prisoner transport for the villain Plasmus had an "accident". Released and awakened the creature went on a rampage, heading ever closer to the populated area. Luckily, the mentor of the New Teen Titans could teleport. The new team did fairly well in the fight, though they did struggle a bit as Plasmus was not a being where simple brute force would work. It made the fight tricky and more than a bit... messy.
Messy enough that juvenile and emotionally compromised Mary Marvel lashed out against the downed villain but was stopped by her teammates... things escalated from there. Restraint turned blows and the whole team struggled to stop their powerhouse without hurting her. The ones who do the best are Raven, Stargirl, Blue Beetle, and oddly Static.
While both of the former could use their abilities to restrain her to a very effective degree Static was actively draining her of strength, or at least of the electic aura she was radiating and blasting with. Frustrated, done with the situation, and a bit petty Mary launched her largest attack yet by saying her magical word.
SHAZAM.
Virgil did what he did best, he handled that lightning as it came crashing down towards Mary and the Titans restraining her. Well, he tried. The bolt was just too powerful, too unlike anything he had ever encountered. He could not handle it and it was dissipating, if anything it clung to him or tried to jump towards the girl. He had to get rid of it and he had to get rid of it quickly, safely too if he could help it.
He shoved it into the ground, into the power lines. He did it as carefully as he could, trying to prevent overload or flashover as guided the charge into the power grid.
What happened next was a combination of a few things. 1. The Mystic and transformative properties of the Lightning, 2. It is effectively being filtered through a bang baby, 3. The kryptonite power plant owned by, provided by, and operated by Lexcorp.
This interaction, this new charge, cycling through the power grid interacted strangely with a number of devices but none more so than PlayStation 4s and the devices connected to them. This new electricity changed things, literally. It brought fantasy into reality.
Whatever game was loaded into became a part of our reality in a small way. Sometimes TVs, Controllers, and even the system changed to reflect items from the game but the bigger change came with the Players. If a person was playing their console during the surge then they would become a metahuman with abilities based on the playable character they were playing.
The city, the county even, was now flooded by an abundance of metahumans and items of varying power of devastation. Static felt horrible.
He couldn't help but compare what has happened here to what happened in Dakota City but on a wider scale. And this time it was his fault. His sense of responsibility wouldn't, couldn't, let that stand. He had to fix his mistake and his team was dragged along for the ride.
The story to follow is a mix of Final Crisis and Kingdom Come with a bit of the Young Justice cartoon in events and themes, a few twists and likely a bit lighter in tone but to the DC geeks this should give a rough idea… Maybe a bit of Marvel's Civil War but hopefully not the rushed knee-jerk mess that that ended up being.
But it's here that I start having issues with my planning. One part in worry as outside the set up we start to follow the perspective of OCs (something rarely smiled upon) and another part in wondering which OC to focus on.
Now, one thing I love in fiction is progressive powers and the conflict escalating from the different paths people take in said progression. In that vein, I have a pair of protags in mind as well.
The main two/co-protagonists:
The Lawkeeper- a cop before the change and now a member of a task force made up largely of those affected by the surge. A gamer, a man of color, and a believer of the spirit of the law. He doesn't always get along with his fellow officers but he believes in what the blue does. He believes that an organized response is what is best.
His abilities are based on those of Jesse Fades of Control. Meaning he has tremendous psychic potential but he needs 3 things to reach his full potential.
1.Items to bond to so he can generate these psychic abilities. Jesse's used altered items of her universe to get thematic abilities from them (ex: a safe to generate a shield, a carousel horse for a dash ability, ect). Here he can use items generated by the surge.
2. A patron/partner entity to help guide, give insights, and empower. It also let's the user enforce reality, basically becoming an anti reality warper.
3. A bonded morph weapon or a weapon to come to his hand when called.
The knight- a recent college graduate who instantly decided to go the route of the caped hero. She, after figuring out how to get her powers to work, instantly went the route of a caped crusader. Going out to the streets, saving lives, stopping instances of surge item abuse, and (in the humble opinion of the local Police Department) getting in the way of operations. In her opinion they were taking too long to get things done.
Her abilities are based on those of Prince Noctis of Final Fantasy XV. This means she has tremendous physical and magical potential but like the above she has a number of check marks needed to gain access to the character's full power.
1. A gem/crystal to draw power from.
2. 13 magical weapons to boost strength. The generated game weapons will do and I have most picked out in a way that likely would help the plot progress.
3. The blessing of 5-6 gods.
4. A power ring of some king to channel all this power.
I keep debating the two above as I do like the idea of both of them climbing in power and clashing over conflicting ideals of what to do with their power. At the same time, I think that just smooshing aspects of both into one (which is actually where they started, a single character) and play off the different ideologies of how best to help people from within her friend group and precinct along with internal conflict. Maybe have the one be a fellow officer they butt heads with because of the... precarious nature
Another OC I was thinking on, keeping with the theme of what to do when you have power, is a thief who played Persona 5. Like both of the above they would be crippled in their ability to use their abilities without a way to fake the connection to. In this case, without the Mementos App, they would need an item that could affect or enter the hearts of others. Luckily, more unlucky really, there are plenty of items floating around that can do just that. Namely Keyblades.
Most other Players are an odd mix but most are variations of the Shooter build. Peak physical humans who heal quickly and often have bullet time. But there are enough other variations to cause trouble. Demigods of unreal strength, men and women who can easily tap into a patron for powers from the outside, 2 variations of spider powers, cat eyed men and women who can cast magic with simple gestures, and so much more. But the real issue was the first two, the demigods without a parent to protect them and those easily connected to a divine source.
The disembodied New Gods of Apocalypse were very happy with those groups. For how bad this can be please look at what happened to Mary Marvel in canon Final Crisis.

GoT IdeaS (Note to self)
Just a quick and dirty run-down of some worldbuilding I'm doing for a Sambucky GoT AU I'd like to write. It focuses on the Dornish. Since MCU Sam Wilson is from Delacroix, I adopted GoT fanon that the Reach is analogous to a Fantasy France >.>
For my own purposes, after the Long Night, Summer Islanders began to emigrate to Westeros. Starting with the (much) friendlier Dorne and branching up from there. The mixed population come to be known by others as "Summer Dornish" and "Summer Reachers".
They bring advanced craftsmanship, a love of learning, some equitable practices, and the most lively of music. If we're being honest, their presence has strong, wide influence on Westerosi cultures.
I'll get to the time line shit later, but the story is set approx. 200-ish years after the Long Night. I'm making it up as I go along, mixing canon etc., etc.
E.g., After Dorne declared its independence, they needed new allies. Hence the easing of borders and re-establishment of links between Dorne and the other Rhoynish diaspora, as well as Essos.
1. The Stepstones Rhoynar: According to legend, the Stepstones are remnants of the Arm of Dorne, a land-bridge which once linked Westeros and Essos. There are pockets of Rhoynar on the islands dating back to the migration of Nymeria's ten thousand ships.[11]
~ So, basically pirates!
2. The Summer Rhoynar: The Isle of Women (formerly Abulu), was home for a time to Nymeria and her Rhoynar refugees before they moved to Dorne in southern Westeros.
~ Some believe the Summer Isles are influenced by the Caribbean, Canary Islands, Virgin Isles, even Madagascar. So, I'll follow that line, I guess.
3. The Summer Reachers: after the majority of House Tyrell were murdered at the Great Sept of Baelor, Willas Tyrell is the last one left. He was gracious and stood tall in his grief, re-naming himself Willas Waymont (from wayment, meaning 'grief').
~ Willas is partly responsible for allowing Summer Islanders the chance to make a life in Westeros; as farmers and craftsmen mainly. Things roll on from there.
4. The Orphans of the Greenblood: are the descendants of the Rhoynar, who fled in Nymeria's ten thousand ships to Dorne, but refused to assimilate into Dornish culture.
5. The Summer Dornish: Dornishmen who are of Summer Isle descent, but not necessarily Summer Rhoynar descent.
6. The Sun Empire: since apparently the Khals were murdalized by Dany and who knows what happened to her giant khalasar (I really don't care lol), I decided to make this a thing. Idk how they're related to Dorne but *lemme just wave my hand at it*. Rhoynish and/ or, Dornish Horse Lords... *SHAZAM!*

Ihr letzter Release „Assassin“ handelte von den Herausforderungen, mit selbstzerstörerischen Gefühlen zu leben, in ihrem Sommerhit „Panic Room“ (der vom Undergound-Duo Camelphat remixt wurde und mehr als vierzig Millionen Streams aufweist) geht es um die Tragweite von Angstattacken; und der Track „Emoji“ berichtet von den Schwierigkeiten mit der Kommunikation in der heutigen Emoji-zentrischen Online-Welt. „Panic Room“ fand seinen Weg auf zahlreiche wichtige Radio-Playlisten in Großbritannien (u.a. Capitol und Kiss) und tummelte sich neun Wochen lang in den Top 40 der britischen Charts, war in den Top30 der Shazam Charts und entpuppte sich als Club-Dauerbrenner auf der #1 der Deutschen Club Charts. Ihre Single „Concrete Jungle“ kommt auf über 32 Millionen Streams und erhielt u.a. großartige Kritiken von The Line Of Best Fit, Wonderland, NME und PopJustice.
Viele ihrer extrem visuellen Texte widmen sich dem Thema Eskapismus und sind stark von ihrem Faible für Anime und Fantasy geprägt. Als lebenslanger Fan der Studio Ghibli-Filme war es schon immer ihr größter Wunsch, in die weichzeichnete, ultrarealistische Welt der Miyazaki-Animationen einzutauchen und am liebsten darin zu verschwinden. Heute verwendet sie ein ähnliches Prinzip für ihre Musik. „Ich stelle mir meine Musik immer als Anime vor", sagt sie. "Die Welt dieser Filme ist so anders und die Figuren haben so viele willkürliche Charaktereigenschaften, die sie einzigartig machen". Ihr wunderbarer Außenseiter-Pop, der oft und gerne als "nicht von dieser Welt" beschrieben wird, hat deshalb eine wesentliche, universelle Botschaft: es ist vollkommen okay, anders zu sein.
