You know what we should bring back?

Older christianity. I mean the anti government, anti military, community based christianity. The one that cared the most about peace, equality, mercy, kindness, and radical love. The one with shared property. The one that didn't conform to society but instead existed mostly outside of it. The one where noone considered one sin worse than another because in the end, we are all sinners trying our best to be better.

i do love canon amy & rory but god, does some part of me wish they really had gone with the idea of the doctor picking up a child as a companion (and then later, that child’s best friend with a huge crush on her.) with the rest of the season really not changing at all, except now it’s amelia pond with an angel in her head killing her and lost alone in the woods. it’s little rory who dies and is forgotten and becomes a toy soldier. if this is going to be a fairy tale, then let it be one. children have never been safe in fairy tales.

The EK military feels so disconnected and unsociable towards their own people, despite coming from relatively warm and unorthodox communities (ie. Haru's village, Omashu) so I had an little theory that Ba Sing Se is a cause for this, and that they've been instilling their values ie. nationalism, xenophobia, classism and authoritarianism by spreading their influence throughout the EK military and governments.

There's no denying the sort of influence BSS has over other city-states and villages. The mail is under military control and was shown being taken advantage of, as important letters to the Gaang were intercepted by Long Feng. We also see in the show a map of Ba Sing Se's military forces sent to every major fortress in the EK.

These fortresses also double as training camps, and it's established by the games that it's common to send EK children to these camps once they're old enough. The only training camp we see in show is the fortress under General Fong's command and we all know how he is:

In the games, the Consul's background is unknown but his character was written like a precursor to Long Feng, with similarities such as "maintaining" EK traditions as an excuse for discrimination, manipulating the king as an advisor, secretly controlling the guards of the city, and ultimately selling their kingdom out over their obsession for power. My first impression of the Consul was that he was an envoy sent from Ba Sing Se, as a method to control other governments, and he's just a particular case that went off the rails. While General Fong and the Consul have unknown origins and are unconfirmed to be associated with Ba Sing Se, their values and actions align with Long Feng's policies.

Because of the way the EK governments and military are set up during the war, the result is EK children being indoctrinated by Ba Sing Se's styled nationalism, xenophobia, classism, etc, and them returning to their hometowns only to become detached and persecuting towards the people they were supposed to protect.

love season 2. i'm concussions! and i'm psychic visions! the headache brothers

#s2 might be my favorite full season hands down even though some of my favorite single episodes/emotional arcs come later #which is weird bc it also has a lot of stuff in it i DON'T like (the way gordon was handled. some annoying motws. et cetera) #but overall it's well paced entertaining has a great score as per usual for the early years . and balances intrigue with grief and fear #and they're SO headaches. the advil consumption in that household (carhold?) is in the double digits daily . ulcers forming as we speak #also croatoan is in this season! one of THE most dread-filled eps they ever did #plus of course what is & what should never be (goes without saying) all hell breaks loose part one last five minutes (goes WITHOUT saying) #etc etc #like you can tell there's a lot of gamble here but it's in a good way #um. the wizard van telepath. victor hi victor . sorry about these horrible boys . houses of the holy!! there's like zero complete misses #i think gabriel is annoying but the CONCEPT of his first episode was still great. don't love the early jodean dynamic but i like how it end #they spend a lot of time genuinely having to deal with The Law etc . the stuff that happens in this one more than even s1 sets the tone #for like everything that follows. for better or worse. the cycle of death/sacrifice/rebirth/sacrifice . the beginning of the religion angle #the expansion of the world (for a while anyway) #i'd go so far as to call it 'good television' #spn

no but talking about the beginning of the kaido fight i dunno if it's just a personality of the characters involved sort of thing but i love the difference between the way lu zoro and law interact with each other vs with kidd and killer, there's an ease to their working off each other that's missing from how they move around kidd n killer and you would say it's normal since they've spent months together by then and all three of them fought doflamingo together already, but i love that oda keeps these things in mind when writing dynamics sm

#it's like with kidd and killer they're just doing their best not to get in each other's way #but between them they work /together/ and that's so neat to me #law will complain but then he'll shamble lu and zoro out of harm's way without prompting #and zolu keep their eyes on him the whole time too #with kidd n killer they follow up to their attacks or get out of the way to let them attack #while with each other they make use of each other's attacks to make their own #it's such a subtle difference but i so love it #no it's esp because it's subtle that i love it sm #they point out so often during wano that pirate alliances aren't meant to last but the strawhearts one is so damn solid it's like they're #one extended crew #they never doubt each other and take care of each other and trust they'll have each other's backs it's so SO good to see #i know this is supposed to say more about luffy than it should about law #in the sense that what oda's getting at is that luffy's earnestness keeps people around #but i think the fact that law stays solid by luffys side for the time covered by five whole arcs says something about his character too #oda tries to make you believe he's the traitor in the early stages of wano too which means he had #the right reasons and ways and times to betray them but neither he nor the hearts ever did #i dunno how to explain this but what i mean is that you don't keep an alliance like theirs without the work from both parts #law was as much an unwavering pillar for the samurai as luffy was #it's so!!!! wonderful!!!! to me #the way they work as one shows in how law was “alone” against kaido too i think #though i wish he had brought bepo it's still cool to me how that seems to imply he had his back covered by zolu already #and this might be stretching it but yk how law had picked no fight against big mom directly while lu picked a fight something like #five separate times? with her? both he and his crew and yet there was no mugiwara to defeat her but law was there instead #you know what i mean right I just think it's cool #even if oda didn't mean for it to be read this way and it just happened i still love how they share their fights and grudges like that #they have each other's backs all the way I love their alliance so damn much

1-Charlie Burns Robocop AU: I talked about this one a long time ago and I even rewatched the old Robocop movies for this one but then my hype vanished like my lunch. The plot is about how after Charlie ¨survives¨ a brutal accident but leaves Chase dead, Doc Greene and the Mayor find a way to keep Chieff alive but at the cost of his humanity. The rest of his family and the Bots have to deal with the changes as how Charlie starts to see how the rest of the town sees him as more of a robot than the once kind policeman he was...

In this one, Cody probably suffers the more because what is left of his family is 24/7 fulfilling his dad's place... and the Bots can't help because they are also dealing with the loss of their teammate.

2-Monster Food Graham AU-(@/frosty-tian I promise with the blood of my sister that I will write this or I'll end myself). The thing with the Magic Meat was a more... deadly thing to deal with, Graham in his monster form had actually hurt Cody to a level that made his transformation a part of him forever. Lusket was in the same place, but his monster part was stronger.

If anyone believes that Graham can forgive himself for this, is his own family.

Anyways, I was so brave today. I only cried once and it was at the very end of the ordeal only after returning to the first office and finally solving the freaking problem.

#At one point some asshole cop who had no knowledge about my case told me I should get deported #so yeah that was fun #acab truly is universal #but of course he had no merit in saying that as i have followed every step of the law as intended from the start #the nice lady in the office came around and hugged me and told me everything was going to be okay that i am doing everything right #and to forget about what that cop said because he had no idea what he was talking about #but yeah I nearly burst into tears three times before that so i think i did pretty freaking good for myself 🙃
