Hey it’s me Owl. Yeah I’m still alive and I’m kinda wanna revive my Tumble blog and because I’m really into the new Pokemon Horozons Anime I think it’s a good start to share my very first fanfic <3 I ship Friede and Murdock because I really love there dynamic. In this fanfic they have an big argument with heavy miscommunication. It’s hurt/comfort and they kiss at the end <3

Murdock seems like he isn't good at Pokemon battles. Yeah he did watch Likos and Roys Trainings Battle against Captain Pikachu, but I think he doesn't enjoyi doing battles himself. Because when we saw him fight for the first time he was kinda relieved that Roy took over the battle and went away with his hurt Rockruff. So I headcanon that he might feel weak and useless when it comes to protect everyone he loves. So with the Liko situation right now I think he will blame himself so much that Spinel could manage to lure Liko away in his name. But he won't tell anyone about his feelings and that were things are starting.

Friede noticed that Murdock cut himself off a bit from the others, but especially the kids and him so he tries to confront him and goes into the kitchen were he mostly always finds him. Murdock is indeed there peparing the dinner, but he doesn't seem as focused as usual, because he almost cut himself with the knife when Friede started to talk to him

F: „I knew I would find you here“ he said to him while smiling softly

Murdock was so deep in his thoughts that he jumped a little and almost dropped the knife „H..hey Friede what brings you here?“ while putting on a nervouse smile

Friede wastes no time and comes to the point directly „What is bothering you?“ putting on a serious but concerned face

Murdock of course just shakes his head and says he's fine, trying to change the subject asking him what he wants for dinner but Friede didn't fell for that so he asked him again „Don't lie to me! I know somethings wrong! You stopped spending time with the kids and you barley can focus cooking so what is it!?“

M: „I..I'm fine I just thought they might get annoyed when I'm around to much t..that's all!“ it's just a half of a lie because he really thinks having him around might bring them into danger

Friede of course isn't satisfied with the answer the bigger man gave him so he continued „And why aren't you talking to me? Something clearly is bothering you and...“ in that moment Murdock just snapped and screamed at him „I SAID I'M FINE SO LEAVE ME ALONE!!“ Murdock startled himself with his loud voice and was shocked what he just said, regretting every single word in an instant. So he hastely looked into Friedes direction and like he feared he saw a very irriated and concerened face. Friede himself was seemigly shocked and surprised, because the last time Murdock snapped at him like that was when they were kids. F: „Sorry that I got worried about you. If you want me to leave you alone I will gladly do that, but I thought we are friends and trust each other...maybe I was wrong“ he said that in just a calm but angry and dissapointed voice that it made Murdock shudder and regret even more what he just did...But before he could apologize and say something Friede was already gone. „Nice Murdock....you just runied everything...I'm so stupid...why I'm so stupid“ and starts crying The Dinner was awkward because everyone could feel somethings wrong. Friede and Murdock didn't talked to looked at each other even once.

Later at night in Murdocks room:

He just rolls over and over and can't seem to sleep. I mean how could he after he surley just runied his friendship and his relationship with the man he loved so damn much that it hurts. „Why didn't I just tell him I feel weak...I'm so stupid...no wonder he hates me now...I didn't deserve him anyway...he will be better of without me...b...but I love him so much...“ At this point he was just hugging his pillow very tight and bawled his eyes out repeating the words „I'm so stupid“ and „I'm so sorry“ over and over again, because he didn't know what to do and believed Friede never wanna talk to him ever again

The same night in Friedes room:

He also can't sleep. To many thoughts going through his head...why did Murdock snap at him? What is bothering him that much that he even can't tell him? His best friend, his lover...he wants to try and ask him again but he doesn't want to pressure him either. „I shouldn't have said that to him...I pressured him to much so him snapping at me was just a normal reaction...i didn't wanted to hurt him with my words....ARRGHH WHAT DO I DO NOW!!?? I can't just go to him like nothing happened and ask him again after saying I leave him alone!!“ He grabbed his pillow and smacked it to the other side of the room and let himself fall down on his bed with a big and long sight „I better wait a few days and then gonna ask him again“

The next morning:

Friede couldn't sleep of course so he kinda looked more tired then usual but he hopes no one notices it. When he went to the breakfast table he just saw Murdocks face for a split second because said man vanished back into the kitchen as soon as he spotted him, just like he wanted to avoide that Friede saw him like that. But he saw...he saw his tired face...he saw his puff and swollen eyes...He was clearly crying the whole night and it was his fault...He felt so sick in his stomach that he barley could eat anything, but he did eat, because he doesn't want to upset Murdock even more than he already had. I mean how does it come off when he didn't ate his delicious meal after their argument?

This whole mess goes one for the next 3 days. Friede managed to take a few naps during these days, but Murdock....he looked like a mess to the point even the kids asked him if somethings wrong, but of course he didn't wanted to worry them and put a fake smile on his face ensuring them he is fine and couldn't just sleep well. Liko and Roy still had a worried look on there faces, but let it be for the moment.

Friede on the other hand couldn't take it anymore. He can't longer just watch and look how the love of his life is suffering and hurting himself, because he clearly haven't slept a single minute the past 3 days and that shows...not only on his face but his hands...especially his left hand was covered in bandages, probably from cutting himself because he couldn't focus while cooking....and that never happens...

That's it! He has to clear things up and apologize for what he said, because he didn't meant it like that. So he went to the kitchen and just the moment he walked in Murdock accidentally cut his left thumb again letting out a soft but frustrated „Ouch...Shit not again“ Without any hesitation the white haired man rushed over and grabbed Murdocks left hand so he can look how bad the cut was. „Let me patch this up for you“ His body just simply moved on his own when he saw Murdcock was bleeding. Murdock was dead silent for a short time, because Friede popping out of nowhere startled the shit out of him.

But instead of letting Friede tend to his wound he just hastly pulled his hand away and turned his back to Friede „I..It's okay...y..you don't have to force yourself to talk to me..I mean it's just natural that you hate me now..but i deserve that...i couldn't even tell you what bothered me so..I'm sorry for being such a terrible friend...i won't bother you anymore I'm sure it's better that way and...“ He said that in such a gently but trembling voice that it was clear that he was at the verge of crying

Suddenly it made click for Friede and he felt even sicker than he already have. DID HE REALLY THINK I HATE HIM THE WHOLE PAST 3 DAYS!!? No no no no that's not what he wanted...that's not what he meant to make him feel... „MURDOCK STOP!! I'M SORRY!??“ He screamed in such a heartbreaking voice while grabbing Murdocks hands, turning the other man over so he can look right into his face. Murdock of course was just staring at him with such a confused face and teary eyes.

„I'm so sorry Murdock! What I said to you was not okay, becaue I didn't meant it...I was just so frustrated that I couldn't tell what was bothering you so I let all that frustration out on you and i'm so sorry...You haven't slept the past 3 days right? And you probably cried a lot and i just watched and didn't come back to you earlier...“ *he took a deep breath* „Because I didn't wanted to pressure you...I thought it's better I give you some space, but at the end I even fucked up more making you believe I hate you when I'm not and...“

Before he could even talk more he heard Murdocks soft voice asking „Y..you don't hate me!?“ he looked at him with his wide brown beautiful eyes like he couldn't believe that so Friede cups Murdocks face between his hands and with the sweetst smile and teary eyes he said „I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART AND NOTHING WILL EVER CHANGE THAT“ At this moment Murdock just couldn't hold back his tears and tried to talk but no words came out so Friede just pulled him into his arms and repeated „Yes I love you“ while gently rubbing over his back to calm the big man down.

After a few minutes Murdock still was a mess, still crying but he could manage to talk now so he tried to apologize as well. He grabbed Friedes hand and started talking „I'm also sorry for snapping at you..I didn't wanted to...I didn't want to worry you...I immadiatly regretted yelling at you, but I could bring myself to face you, because i thought i fucked up our whole friendship...oure relationship...“ And without a warning Murdock gently grabbed Friedes face and gave him a short but tender kiss but pulled away seconds after so he can continue talking „Your the love of my life and can't think of living without you. I LOVE YOU!!“

Now it was Friede pulling him into a passinate and tender kiss. They only pull away because they had to breath again at some point. After that they just sat there silenty for some time. Murdock watched while the white haired man patched up his cut thumb he almost forgot about „Thank you“ he said while smiling at Friede and this time it was a geniune smile again so Friede happily smiled back at him saying „Everytime“

The brown-grey haird man then started nervoulsy fidgeting with his fingers „Ehm..the you know the thing I didn't wanted to tell...what's bothering me right now...it's just I'm...“ He felt a gently hand pressing on his shoulder encouraging him to continue „The truth is...when we got attacked by the explorers on Roys home island, or when they tried to hurt Liko luring her away with a fake shop message for that spice I told her I would love to have...I couldn't protect them... I failed them..I'm the adult I should be strong and fearless...BUT...“

He lowers his voice in an instant after realizing he started to get louder again, looking at Friede to get sure he didn't startled him, but to his surprise he was met with a soft smiled at him so he continued, still fidgeting with his fingers „..but I was just useless...someone as weak as me can't protect them so I thought these two might be safer when I'm not around...and to answer your question why I couldn't tell you...“ he paused for a few seconds before continuing takeing a few deep breath so his voive would stop being so shaky „ I felt to embarressed admiting that I'm so weak. And I also was frustrated at myself and yeah that's literally it“ He awkwardly scratched the back of his head and tried to not look into Friedes eyes.

The smaller man just sat back and let out a reliefed smile „So that's what was bothering you...“ He took a deep breath before continue talking because he wanted to say it propperly. He took Murdocks hands so that he looks at him „Your definately not weak. You hate violence and don't enjoy pokemon battles, because you can't bear seeing others getting hurt and that's totally valid. Be strong doesn't mean strengh only, I mean you could just punch someone unconcious with your fist, but that's not the point“

That got a small giggle out of his lovers mouth and he continued „You are the strongest person I know. Even though you shy and all you still keep going every day, always doing your best, caring about everyone so much, so what I'm trying to say it that your are far away from being weak okay?“ With finishing his hopefully engouraging speech he winked with his eyes in Murdocks direction. The bigger man just let out a heartful laugh while giving him the beautifullest smile he has ever seen „Thank you Friede for everything“

That night the decided to stay together in one room and finally could get some well needed sleep while hugging each other tightf

Why Stolas From Helluva Boss Is NOT A Good Dad (rant and analysis)

I think it’s finally time to talk about everyone’s favorite “misunderstood owl birb” from Helluva Boss, specifically, how much of an “AWSOME amazing dad” he is, and his relationship with his daughter, Octavia. When it comes to Stolas, despite despising him like Angel Dust and Blitzo, I could care less if people felt bad for him, or really want him to be in a relationship with Blitz. Okay, that’s a lie, I do care, but nothing grinds my gears even MORE by how I keep seeing both the CREW and fandom gush over how good of a dad he is, so today, I’m going to talk about why I PERSONALLY don’t think he’s a good dad. Without wasting any more time, let’s get to it.

It of course all circles back to the pilot, where these two portraits are shown in the background of two shots. One were blitz was sneaking the book away from Stolas, and the other where Stolas is in on the phone with blitz.

This revealed to the audience that Stolas DOES indeed have a daughter, and judging by the scene where blitz falls on the table, he is currently cheating on his wife. We of course at the time didn’t know his daughters name yet, or anything about her, just that she existed. I should also note, that judging by most of the comments and videos I’ve seen of the fandom talking about Stolas, there were always two categories. People either hated Stolas for his creepy pervy vibes, or people downright loved him for his raunchy and goofy look and voice. Of COURSE though, most of the people who hated him seemed to change their opinions once episode 2 released.

With episode 2 coming out, the plot was going to be about Stolas, and the relationship with his daughter, as he takes her to a theme park she loved when she was a kid. Kinda early to start the emotional beat of a serious issue for a comedy show, but whatever Viv, you do you.

In the beginning of the episode, we open with his young daughter crying in the middle of the night, a flashback. We are also technically introduced to his wife Stella, as she groggily asks him to deal with her. Despite Stolas being tired, he goes, which yes, is sweet. He refers to his daughter as “Via” short for her real name “Octavia”. After she reveals she had a bad dream, Stolas of course sings a song, telling her that no matter what happens, she’ll be okay. While again, this scene was very sweet, and reveals that Stolas cares for his daughter deeply, this is one of the scenes that seemed to blind the crew and fandom. I was always sick of people constantly acting like just because he sang a sweet beautiful song to her in the past, that suddenly makes what he’s doing NOW okay, or make him any better than he is now. To quote Spinel from SU, “You can’t just make everything better by singing some stupid song”. I think it’s clear Viv’s intentions here were to have him sing a song not just because she has an obsession with musicals, (like EVERY thing she touches needs to have songs in it) but because she wanted to show how close they were before, versus now, because of HIM. Something HE did, something HE fucked up with, yet even she herself seems to act like he’s a misunderstood baby who loves his daughter. Let’s move on to get what I’m talking about.

It’s clear that Stolas and his daughter had a very good relationship with one another, but once the years passed, and ever since he has been associated with Blitz, everything changed.

Octavia has now turned into an edgy emo teen-OH I mean a teen who’s life has turned upside down. She now barley seems happy when she’s around the house, not even looking like she wants to live there. Her father’s actions have not only ruined his relationship with her, but her mother’s relationship with him as well, causing the teen to look depressed and in a horrible mood most of the time, so not only has her father ruined their family’s relationship, but her life as well. We cut to Via waking up abruptly to her mother’s screaming at her husband. We can tell this has certainly happened before, as Via is not happy. Now, I’m not here to talk about Stolas as a husband, but as a father, to let’s forget Stella. Stolas, seeing his daughter clearly upset, tries to lighten the mood by wanting to take her to a theme park she loved when she was a child, Loo Loo Land. Now, let me just say that yes, Stolas IS trying to put in SOME kind of effort for his daughter. We see that he genuinely wants her to be happy, and he truly believes that if they go to a theme park she used to like, she’ll feel better. We can all of course appreciate the effort he’s trying to put in, he could have simply ignored her like Stella did, but instead, he tries to go out and do something with her. Even if he’s clearly not listening to Octavia or thinking about what SHE might want, (since she says she’s not five anymore and he completely brushes it off), it’s STILL sweet that he’s trying. When it comes to trying to fix relationships, you got to take baby steps remember? I would have at least appreciated him as a character if this is the route they went, but of course.....now we’re at the part you knew was coming. The part that REALLY grinds my gears, the part that basically ruined any from of likability I could have had for him when it came to him and Octavia. Stolas says he’ll get the security going, and when he explains that they’re rich and famous (so demons would go after them) WHO does he invite as a bodyguard?

THE MAN HE’S FUCKING CHEATING ON WITH HIS WIFE OF COURSE. THE MAN THAT’S LITERALLY THE PROBLEM TO THIS WHOLE SITUATION.........BLITZO.

Now, I’m going to speak calmly, so let me share something about myself. Whenever I try to bring up HUGE unpopular opinions when it comes to Viv and her works, I always genuinely try to be calm and not be petty at all. I feel like if you’re petty, people are most likely to not listen to you. Now, yes, I’ll admit that I AM petty from time to time when it comes to my HH/HB and Viv related posts, but...I just have to say this because...I’m sorry. I have nothing against people who disagree with me on Stolas being a good dad but I just....is the fandom...blind? Like....did we ALL watch the same video? Is the crew blind? Because this....THIS right here, is ALL the proof you need pointing to Stolas being a shitty dad. I think the worse part is that this ain’t even the ONLY proof that points to that, but it is a huge one, the one that everyone saw yet....no one batted an eye for some reason.

So let’s recap........Stolas sees his daughter upset, especially since he ruined the relationship between him and his wife by cheating on her. In attempts to cheer her up, he tells her they’ll have a day to one another, JUST THE TWO OF THEM, and brings her to a theme park she used to love when she was younger, not really getting her as a person NOW, but still trying. He then says they need security since they’re so famous, and so...he brings along Blitz, the person he’s fucking, the person who’s the center of the main problem that’s ruining his daughter and wife’s life, JUST TO FLIRT WITH HIM. Because yes, we DO learn that he can fend for himself, so not only did he LIE to his daughter about needing security, but he brought blitz along just to get his hard on, when again, the whole point he was DOING this in the first place was to spend time with his daughter. This is why I don’t get the fandom. How...HOW is he a good dad? I’m not even DONE with this post yet and I already managed to explain why he sucks. I feel like the crew and fandom just saw this scene and brushed it over, because I swear, NO ONE EVER TALKS ABOUT THIS SCENE. Ever. Everyone is just blinded by the song he sang, and the ending, which yes, we’ll get to. But holy FUCK guys, this man stooped the bar low all the way to Gahanna.

The funny thing is out of all of this is that at the same time, he ACTUALLY is trying still. He asks his daughter to check out the rides with him, looks at shirts and toys with her, and suggests going to see Robo Fizz’s show since she “loved” it so much as a kid. Again, he’s not really listening to her at all and seems blind (which btw, even if he’s trying, that doesn’t excuse him not listening to her) but he’s STILL trying. However, like I said before, his effort is literally RUINED once he decides to bring blitz along. I don’t understand why Viv decided to go this route. I don’t get why we couldn’t have this episode just be centered around Stolas and his daughter trying to connect with one another, instead of pointless filler scenes with Moxxie and Millie, and a scene with Blitz and Robo fizz that goes nowhere. Blitz and his crew did NOT need to be in this episode, but...of course they had to for the Stolatz shippers and M&M lovers. Oh, and I guess we’re following the Steven Universe law as well, where the main characters HAVE to be in every episode no matter what. I’m trialing, so let’s continue.

So yeah, throughout the whole episode, Stolas is constantly flirting with blitz on the side. Can I just be the first to say (since I guess again, the fandom and crew didn’t seem to notice or care) Stolas flirting with Blitz in FRONT OF HIS DAUGHTER IS DISGUSTING. Not only is he being inappropriate as all hell, (being vulgar and saying blitz is the only man who can fuck him when she’s RIGHT there) but he DOESN’T EVEN BOTHER TO THINK HOW SHE MIGHT FEEL IN THIS SITUATION. Like this “best dad in all of hell” apparently has the nerve to flirt with the key to this families problems, in front of his daughter who’s literally depressed and miserable BECAUSE OF THIS. Like....WOW guys, Stolas is SUCH a good dad omg yess good owl birb 🥺 NO. Just no. Christ, if I had a father who tried to fix his relationship with me by bringing me to a place I was specifically vocal about NOT wanting to go, as well as bringing the person he’s cheating on my mom with just to get his popsicle standing, I would have said “fuck off, you don’t deserve my love”. I’m sorry, but it’s the truth. Let’s wrap this up.

So, after Octavia FINALLY has had enough with her fathers bullshit and storms off (as she should yass queen) Stolas follows her to a fun house, (oh, of course not before asking where Blitz is because he’s his “night in shining armor”) where she’s sitting alone, in tears.

And so, we’re finally at this episodes ending, the famous scene of Stolas consoling his daughter, the scene that everyone said was “moving” and brought people to tears. The scene that wraps this whole mess up, even if it’s waaay to fucking soon to fix a complex relationship like this but again, whatever. It starts out with him sitting next to her, saying “I take it you are not having fun”. I.....GEE YA THINK? What could have brought you to THAT conclusion? Maybe it’s because you forced her to go some place she didn’t want to, and practically ignored her emotionally all day just to flirt with your sex toy but I could...COULD be wrong. Anyway, Octavia says she didn’t want to come here, and he actually apologizes, but of course saying he thought she loved it here even though any smart full grown adult would know that she’s too old for this shit and would have actually LISTENED to her when she said it the first time. Octavia expressed that she was happier when she was kid, when Stolas wasn’t with Blitz and when her parents weren’t arguing all the time. Again, I can appreciate what Stolas says here, because he finally does admit that he should have listened to her, but that’s part of the problem guys. He didn’t, and he brought blitz along. Finally, we get to the part that I think is the most important.

After Octavia says she wants to go home, but that home doesn’t feel like home anymore, Stolas....actually tries to explain how he feels about his wife. A person who used to love someone trying to explain to a child why they don’t anymore is a VERY hefty subject, and a very hard thing to do, ESPECIALLY if that child is your kid, who wants you two to be together again. I want people to know that despite everything I’ve said and what I’m TRYING to say, I’m going to say it now. I don’t think Stolas should get with Stella. I’m not saying he’s a shitty dad because he’s not in love with her anymore, or doesn’t want to be with her, because not being in love with someone anymore isn’t a bad thing, you need to do what’s best for you, otherwise you would end up miserable. I’m saying he’s a shitty dad because he doesn’t listen to her, doesn’t think of how she would feel, and most importantly, DOES NOT PUT IN THE EFFORT. Before I elaborate though, let’s finish this ending. So like I said, Stolas tries to explain what’s going on with his wife. He tries to tell her that he doesn’t love her anymore, and that he’s not happy with her, but......he just can’t get it out. He doesn’t have the words, nor knows how to tell his daughter that he can’t just go back to loving her to fix everything. Now...when it came to this scene, I didn’t know what to think. Some people found this part heart wrenching but positive for Stolas, since people seem to think that the reason he didn’t have the words was simply because he KNEW what he did was wrong, so he couldn’t say anything to back himself up. Others took that scene of him just not knowing how to say it. For me....well, I disagree with the first one. Knowing Viv, it seems more like he said that just because he didn’t know how to say it, not because he knew he was in the wrong. If he knew he was in the wrong, he would have changed his actions, he would have LISTENED to his daughter, and at least TRIED to fix his relationship with his wife, as well as cutting off blitz for a bit to make up lost time with his daughter. But...he doesn’t do that....does he?

Instead, it turns out that Octavia wasn’t upset about Stolas being a twat, she was upset because she’s afraid that Stolas will LEAVE her and run off with blitz. Wow Viv.....really? Yeah okay. Anyway, that’s when Stolas says he would NEVER leave her.....and......guess what guys? EVERYTHING IS OKAY NOW!

Yup! Everything okay, apparently all Stolas needed to do was tell his daughter he would never leave her, (because out of EVERYTHING he did to her, THAT was the biggest problem apparently) and their relationship is now magically fixed! Fuck this. I’m sorry....I....what...what kind of writing is this? And thanks to the “glorious” writing here, everyone thinks Stolas is an amazing dad, simply because he said ONE thing to her. Not because he apologized, not because he changed his actions, but because he said he wouldn’t leave her. Apparently after the HELL he put his daughter through simply because he’s a creepy horny PERVERT, this was ALL the fandom needed to instantly say he’s a good dad. Wow. But....hey....ya know what? Maybe he will get better. Maybe after seeing how hurt he made his daughter and wife, maybe after everything him and his daughter have been through, maybe he won’t go back to loving Stella, but making a change for his daughter, fixing the relationship with his wife and ease down on blitz so he can work on being a better person, so that this broken family can slowly heal and-

OH WAIT A MINUTE.....

PFFFFT......SCREW THAT. ACTUALLY PUTTING IN EFFORT TO HELP MY DAUGHTER AND TRY TO BE BETTER? FUCK MY DAUGHTER! LET’S GO BACK TO FUCKING BLITZ. WHO CARES IF MY DAUGHTER IS LIVING IN A BROKEN HOUSEHOLD, AS LONG AS I GET THAT SWEET IMP DICK, I’LL BE OKAY.

So....circling back to my question before....is the fandom blind? We’re all looking at the same thing right? How this man literally saw his daughter at her worst, and despite him apologizing to her, he goes back to fucking blitz as if episode 2 NEVER HAPPENED. I....we’re literally back at the beginning. NO changes were made, we’re RIGHT back where we fucking started. No “hey blitz, I need to focus more on my daughter so we can’t fuck right now” or “hey blitz, I’m going to have to stop seeing you because right now I need to focus on my daughter”, NOTHING. He’s just screwing around with the man who’s the problem to all of this, not even mentioning or thinking of his daughter, hell, he’s STILL SCREWING BLITZ IN THE SAME BED STELLA WAS GETTING ON HIS CASE ABOUT. If episode 2 didn’t ruin Stolas for me, it was damn well episode 5, because this reveals he made ZERO changes for Octavia. Best dad my FUCKING ass.

And you know what? I’m damn glad Stella took Octavia with her for weekends, because after THIS? This man doesn’t even deserve to look in his daughters direction until he gets his shit together. He can’t even freaking figure out if he truly loves blitz, or sees him as a play thing. Stolas does NOT deserve Octavia, I said what I fucking said. Stolas might as well run off with blitz, because blitz is all he seems to care about. And I don’t care if Stella isn’t the best mother, I truly don’t believe Octavia should be with him. Yeah it’s a hot take, but I’m sick of people saying he’s a good dad when he not only didn’t TRY to change for the sake of his daughters mental health, but he goes back to fucking blitz, and not even trying to fix the relationship with his wife. Christ, he literally used the fact that Octavia was away for HIS BENEFIT in episode 7, just so he could get close to blitz. It doesn’t matter if he genuinely loves his daughter guys. The fandom doesn’t seem to understand that you can GENUINELY love someone and still treat them like shit, or make wrong decisions. Just because you love someone, doesn’t mean you’re a saint when it comes to the relationship. I really hope in the future of this show, Stolas either puts in effort to change, or gets the consequences coming to him. And NO, Stella trying to kill him doesn’t count. I’m sick of the fandom siding with Stolas simply because Stella is worse. I don’t care if she’s worse, Stolas still did what he did, he still SUCKS AS A DAD.

He’s a HORRIBLE husband, and a horrible father. Thank you for reading.

Word Origin: September got its name from the Latin word “septem” meaning “seven”. This is because September is the seventh month of the old Roman calendar, and the first month of fall. Even with the addition of new months to the calendar, the name was never changed. Historical names for the month of September include the Irish name “Meán Fómhair” or “an t-Sultainn” (“fat time”), the Anglo-Saxon name “Haligmonath” (“holy month”), the Frankish name “Witumanoth” (“wood month”), and the Asatru name “Shedding”. Chapter 5 ~ Library Introductions

"Are you understanding everything so far Connie?" Pearl asked while pausing her lecture and teachings about the royal Diamond life. She knew Connie had to become familiar or else they could do unspeakable things to her. It was most imperative since she will be joining her and Steven on all meetings regarding the 'Cluster' project. Still with all the knowledge given, Pearl was surprised she could keep up and, it would seem, to retain everything. Supposing it wasn't to far off from humanity's royal lifestyle, rules and proper etiquette. With the Diamonds, one can never be too cautious or prepared.

"Yes Pearl, never speak unless addressed and salute and bow when entering the room." Her notes were detailed and organized just like her old cram school notes were. It was easier to think of them as such than her current circumstances. Still the thought of what transpired only a couple of hours ago left her clutching the transparent tablet tightly, as if she would fall if not holding onto something.

'Warmth touched her skin as she began to awaken. Blinking twice as if disbelieving of her own eyes. Forcing herself to realize this wasn't a dream, she slowly sat up. Hand rubbing the side of her head from a slight discomfort, though it could've been for everything happening to her at once. Moaning she looked up and gasped, not expecting him to be sitting next to her so casually. Instead of anger, she couldn't tell what sort of expression he was trying to convey. Perhaps it as nothing.

"How are you feeling?" Was that a genuine concern he held in his voice?

"I-I'm fine-" Gritting her teeth and shutting her eyes tight at the sudden pain in her head throbbing. Her hands gripping a blanket, just now realizing it partially covered over her. On instinct she laid her head back onto the pillows. Moaning slightly from the discomfort she felt. Unexpectedly a cooling and soft sensation touched her forehead. Barley opening her eyes to see Steven holding a cloth dipped in cold water. It instantly eased her pain and gave her the idea that the water was perhaps from the fountain. Still she was curious as to why he was doing this in the first place.

"Shh... just relax." Then he smiled, an actual smile! Connie could't believe how genuine it actually was. Or how it appeared to be that is. Hesitant to truly trust anything coming from him. Soon the pain she felt diminished and he lifted the wet cloth from her head, placing it to the side before returning his attention all on her. She truly was beautiful and with a fire beneath her innocence, that made her even more radiant. Reaching out he gently caressed her hair down to her cheek. Inhaling sharply at his touch, and taking note of how gentle he was. "How does it feel?" His voice, deep, calm and caring it would seem, even she couldn't deny that. Soon it occurred to her that she hadn't said anything and the silence was going on for too long.

"Oh, um, it's okay... I don't feel anymore pain."

"Good"

"Um...my eyesight.... did you- I mean-..." she sighed trying to figure out how to word it.

"Yes I did." Her eyesight was pretty much crystal clear. So much so she could see a lot more detail than before. Including him. Which was a bit more nerve wracking in this moment with how close he was. His exactly half mask with only his eye from that side of his face shining through. At first glance it was frightening to see, however in this moment she saw more than a fearsome look. She saw what appeared to be soft, tender and gentleness. It was almost comforting though a bit odd with his rough exterior.

"Thank you..."

"Hmm" His hand lingered on her cheek momentarily before moving to the back of her neck. The other slipped around her lower back as he lifted her up. Quickly her pillows were adjusted so she could sit up better. Instinctively, her hands reached up against his shoulders (much firmer than she thought) to keep her balanced. There eyes met for a brief moment and for the first time she could see his more clearly. Though similar to any human eye, his were pitch black, the only color was a pink pupil in the shape of a diamond. He smirked and chuckled slightly causing her to snap out of her haze. "Are you enjoying the view?" Those words felt vial and full of arrogance. Immediately Connie pushed him away, which wasn't that far but enough so she couldn't feel how close he was.

"I'm fine" her tone full of that fiery spirit he loved to see coming from her. Standing up he walked towards the door.

"If that's the case, Pearl will see you in ten minutes to discuss some important matters." Before leaving, he glanced back and gave her a wicked smile. "That fire within you will surely help you fit in. Though will it be enough?" Connie's eyes widened and a blush crept her cheeks, while echos of his laughter ringed in her eyes as she left.

"Connie.....Connie?!" Pearls voice snapped her out of her thoughts. "This is very important and your focus is imperative before our first meeting with them soon!"

"I'm sorry, you're right I need to focus." Sighing Pearl shut off her tablet and ran her hand through her hair.

"I think that's enough for today. Why don't you take a break and we'll pick it up tomorrow?" She was obviously very tired and need to rest. 'Especially after all she's been through.'

"Are you sure? What will Steven say-"

"Oh just tell him I told you to take a break. If he has any problems with that, well he can surely try to pick a fight with me." Connie giggled at her amusing tone, believing every word. "Now go and get some rest." She added with a smile.

The castle architecture was similar to earths medieval, Victorian, Gothic style...with some gem interior mixed in as well. Still it was beautifully haunting. Every corridor lit with candelabras, melting wax candles, red carpet, and many shadows. Though frightening at first glance, her curiosity kept her going. Her fingers grazed the dark wooden railings and her gaze looked up to see another beautiful chandelier. Not realizing where she was going, a green gem with a triangle shaped hairstyle bumped into her. Causing the gem to fall backwards and her transparent tablet to fall out of her hands.

"Hey! Watch where you're going, you Clod!" Connie held out her hand for the gem currently on the floor.

"I'm so sorry! Here let me help you!" She smiled while the gem eyed her in curiously, taken aback from this unexpected gesture. Hesitantly she accepted and stood up with her help.

"I would take it that you are the human everyone is talking about?" the gem eyed her through twin diamond specs observing everything about her. Though Connie didn't quite know how to feel about the fact she was the topic of everyone's conversations.

"I suppose so, I'm Connie. What's your name?"

"You care to know my name? Why?" she looked kinda shocked that someone even took the slightest interest in her and not her abilities.

"Oh well I guess it's because I want to get to know you better. To be your friend." A flicker of hope seemed to flash across the gem's eyes, before she shook her head and stood straight. Doing the Diamond salute Connie learned from earlier.

"My name is Peridot Facet-2F5L Cut-5XG!" That was a lot of info still it made her smile. She noticed that the long name might've been unnecessary. "You can call me just Peridot if you want."

"Well Peridot it's nice to meet you, and I'm sorry I bumped you to the floor." Connie laughed slightly, embarrassed and showing an apologetic smile.

"It's not important now, no worries. But I have to ask, what were you doing?"

"Well I was just walking around, getting used to my surroundings I suppose...and perhaps a bit lost along the way." she admitted sighing. This place seemed at least three times that of a large human castle. And that's saying something because those seemed to small in comparison!

"Oh! I can help you with that! Come with me!" Peridot said excitedly while grabbing Connie's hand and rushing through the East wing. It took all her strength to keep up and not trip. They ran until a huge double door, dressed in gold trimmings, stood before them. Connie barely had time to admire the design before Peridot pushed the door open, dragging her inside. "Lapis! Bismuth! Come here quickly!"

"Who?" The question barley escaped her lips as she took in the most beautiful, grand and incredible library she ever laid her eyes upon. Her eyes twinkling at the sight of how large it was and filled with many stories. And quite human like as well. Hardly anything gem related connected to this room

"We're coming Peridot, hold on!" From above Connie saw a beautiful blue silhouette with wings made up of what appeared to be water. If she hadn't already known she was a gem, she would've surely mistaken her for a water nymph or fairy. The gem in question landed right before them. A tad taller than Connie and even more so than Peridot, not that it was a bad thing. the gem eyed her over briefly.

"Is she-?"

"Yes, Lapis!" Peridot interrupted "I met her in the hallways!" Not sure what about that was exciting. Still she gave Lapis a friendly smile as well.

"Hi, my name is Connie."

"Connie? Well that is a beautiful name!" A powerful booming like voice echoed through the enormous and open room. She turned her head to see a larger gem, with in her gem going inwards instead of out and streaks of rainbow in her hair with a more silver complexion. "I'm Bismuth! Welcome to our home!" The kindness in there voices almost made her cry. Pearl was nice but was Steven's second in command, Greg showed more kindness and yet was still his father.

Though he did not approve of what he did, his heart was broken from loosing his love. Almost seeming like he was blind to it all. Not really of course but the hesitation was prominent. Spinel....wasn't a gem to cross paths against. But these gems seemed different than the others in a sense, her gut told her she could trust them. Maybe she could get through this after all.

"Thank you, it's truly nice to meet you all here. I'm beyond grateful to have met such kind gems."

"Well I'm sure you can use a friendly face after what you have been through." Bismuth said with a bit more gentleness in her tone and a genuine smile.

"I suppose everyone here as heard." Her face downcast and blushing of embarrassment.

"Well it's not every day a human is willing to come here." Bismuth added with a nervous chuckle, her hand scratching the back of her head.

"But why did you give yourself up?" Lapis asked with a look mixed of confusion and concern.

"Yeah, that is a puzzling thing to grasp. Even with all my calculations I still don't understand." Peridot replied adding onto the conversation. Connie rubbed her right arm and sighed remembering the moment she last saw her father. Tears threatening to brim her eyes as she blinked them back whilst taking in a deep breath.

"In the moment all I thought about was saving my father. I couldn't stand to loose him. It wasn't till he gave me the opportunity to change my mind, that I truly felt the weight of what I have said burdened on my shoulders. I suppose I said yes because, even if I stood by and did nothing, it would be like I had murdered them myself. I- I don't want anyone else to get hurt."

"Well Connie, you truly are courageous to do what you did. I'm sure the humans back on earth are grateful for your bravery."

"Bismuth is right! You're a hero!" Peridot exclaimed proudly which made Connie giggle briefly, until she heard her next comment. "Yes I'm sure when you return, they will have made a huge statue in your honor!"

"That is if I return home..." Connie spoke softly walking towards a chair to sit upon.

"What do you mean 'if you return'? don't you want to go back home?" Lapis asked once again full of concern as she sat down next to her.

"I- I made another deal with...him..." Upon hearing that they gasped, eyes widening at the sudden new piece of information. Peridot and Bismuth gathered closer as Connie explained the deal and how it came to be. When she was finished recounting the events, she took another deep breath as Lapis gave her a handkerchief to wipe away a few tears that had fallen.

Feeling beyond tired of crying and embarrassed of doing it in front of anyone. Gently Dabbing away the tears she felt on her cheeks and her eyes, she ran her fingers through her hair. "I'm sorry to have bothered you with all this." A nervous laugh escaped her briefly.

"Hon, don't ever feel like you're a bother to us. It's been an overwhelming turn of events for you. I can't speak for everyone in this room, but I know you can tell me anything." Bismuth spoke in the most comforting and caring voice she could muster.

"And me too!" Peridot chimed in with a large grin.

"Well gem or not I think you're pretty amazing. Same goes for me." Lapis contributed while her lips curled upward.

"Besides I think it would be nice to see Steven force fed a piece of humble pie." Bismuth added as they all laughed.

"Thank you, you all are so sweet. But I'm not sure if I can stand up to him... not with humanity on the line." Bismuth's hands overlapped hers, Connie, in turn, lifted up her gaze.

"Listen, like I said it took great courage for you to sacrifice yourself for humanity. But I believe this was meant to be, maybe you're the hero not only humans need, but what we all need as gems. Perhaps even saving Steven's life from eternal darkness." She put a hand up before Connie could interject. "I know it's a lot to ask of you, no ones going to force you to do it. But please know whatever you decide, we will stand by your side. Help you in any way we can." Bismuth was right, it was a lot to take in for her. However knowing she had friends was all she needed right now.

"Geez Bismuth, why don't you say she'll overthrow the Diamond monarchy while you're at it." Lapis remarked with a sigh and her fingers slightly pinching her furrowed brows.

"Oh right theirs another goal for you!" Bismuth said sarcastically while snapping her fingers which made Connie laugh and Lapis rolling her eyes.

"Wait, you're not serious right?" Peridot innocently asked seeing how the sarcastic bit went over her head. That made them all laugh harder as Connie tried to explain the joke. Feeling much better already since she arrived here. All three gems soon gave her the grand tour of the library, filled with human books that they had collected over the years.

However unbeknownst to them was a certain pink gem; watching them amongst the shadows, watching her. She couldn't stand what was happening at all. With the other gems befriending her and vice versa, she realized she would have to get involved in order to get what she desired. This human was turning out to be a much difficult adversary than she expected.

"You still watching this pathetic human? Why?" Jasper spoke wrapping an arm around Spinel's waist, kissing her neck multiple times.

"I won't let her be a thorn in my side. If I am to be in a position of power soon, I must do whatever it takes to maintain it." Her voice low and threatening before lifting up Jasper's head and kissing his lips passionately. Taking her away back to her quarters.

Outside in the castle garden, Steven had taken a break from composing reports and ideas for the upcoming project, walking amongst the courtyard. His mind become clear as he felt the cool breeze around him. Sometimes a quiet stroll through the garden(and perhaps with lion at times) was sometimes needed; to clear his head from the thoughts he fought so hard to suppress. A sound of what seemed to be laughter echoed in the wind, catching his attention.

following the sound he looked up into the Library window. Noting the merriment that Peridot, Lapis and Bismuth were making. It was slightly puzzling since they hadn't been this happy in a long time. But when he saw her, it all made much more sense. Watching Connie as she laughed, smiled and placed many books upon the shelves, along with the others, seeming as if she enjoyed the company and the activity. 'So...she likes to read...' He thought memorizing all that he was witnessing in that moment.

Unintentionally he had a small smile appear at the corner of his lips (though no one would be able to see since his mask hid half of his face). Unable to look away from someone so angelic as she was. Perhaps it would be nice to have someone by his side. He then shook his head from the thought reaching up to touch his mask, just barley.

'No...don't fool yourself. A beast is what you are and always will be.'
