Yangs record with having a good relationship with parents is TERRIBLE and she had THREE CHANCES
Like 2 left her 1 neglected her there’s NO way she’s gonna be chill about meeting Blake’s parents
I’m 100% a “nobody told Blake about Raven believer” as well as a “Yang has never so much as come out to her family just expected them to know and wont directly tell any one that she’s dating Blake till she’s handing out wedding invites and even then they won’t talk about it” believer

hot blonde copper au. Since Yang and her colleagues now have Jaune's phone number are they going to use their police resources to check out who he is.
There Are Rules Here For A Reason
Weiss: Ruby…
Ruby: Yes, Weiss~?
Weiss: Look, Ruby, I love like the little sister I never had.
Ruby: Naww~! Thanks, Weiss, I love you too!
Weiss: But, I can not just look up who, Yang’s date is!
Ruby: Why not!
Weiss: It’s against the law that’s why! With out a warrant, and a plausible cause for said warrant; I can’t just randomly use my my status as a police officer to spy on someone!
Ruby: But, can’t you? He is a thief after all!
Weiss: Has he stolen anything?
Ruby: Uhh… Her heart…?
Weiss: Metaphorically, or literal? Because if it was the first you would lucky if you get pass the, ‘Laugh Test.’ And, if it was the second we would be having a completely different conversation.
Ruby: Can’t you do anything?!
Weiss: No.
Ruby: Come on, please! Pleasepleasepleasepleaseeeee!
Weiss: No!
Ruby: Can’t you just run his name through your record thing, and see if there are any crimes running against him?!
Weiss: Yes I could…
Ruby: Yes!
Weiss: If I knew what his name was…
Ruby: Shoot!
Weiss: Look, Ruby… Yang is a big girl, and she can handle this on her own.
Ruby: But…?!
Weiss: Why are you even acting like this? Yang never acted like this when you want out with that… Oscar was it?
Ruby: Yeah, Oscar.
Weiss: Yeah, your father did act like this, but he’s the overprotective Father type, so that kimd of behaviour makes sense, but for you to act like this… It just doesn’t add up.
Ruby: Well…
Weiss: …
Ruby: It’s because I’m concerned for my sister! She’s going on a date with a complete random nobody! Who knows what she could be walking into! We have to make sure she safe, or else who knows what could happen!
Weiss: …
Ruby: …
Weiss: Ruby…?
Ruby: Yes?
Weiss: Put your father on the line…
Ruby: W-What are you talking about… It’s just…
Weiss: Ruby, you would never say something like that. Never in a million years. It’s not like you to think, and speak in such a manner. So obviously your father who told you to say that to me, so put him on the line… Now.
Ruby: …
Ruby: Told you she wouldn’t buy it…
Tai: H-Hi, Weiss! How’s it going?
Weiss: Swimmingly, Mr Xiao Long.
Tai: Oh please that makes me feel old, just call me, Tai!
Weiss: You are old.
Tai: …
Tai: Okay that hurt…
Weiss: Mr. Xiao Long, Yang is an adult, she can make her own decisions you can not tell me to tell her what she does. Nor, will I abuse police forces to satisfy your fatherly overprotectiveness towards your daughter.
Tai: But, what if he touches her inappropriately?! Then what?!
Weiss: Haa…
Yang: Then I’d sock him in the face!
Tai: Y-Yang?! Is that you?
Yang: No it’s the Empress of Mistral; Of course it’s me you overbearing monkey!
Tai: Then… You overheard the whole conversation then…?
Yang: As soon as, Ruby said, ‘Hello bestie…’
Tai: Oh… Oh dear…
Yang: Dad, I know you mean well, but I’m twenty-one, and I’m a cop. So, I’m pretty sure I can handle this myself. Okay?
Tai: But, what if?!
Yang: Dad! Don’t worry, I have the perfect way to handle this~!
Tai: Really? What do you have planned?
Yang: Well, first off I do this~!
(Beep)
Weiss: Oh, you hang up on him. Oh how sad…
Yang: Times like this I envy your family relationships… Which I don’t like saying.
Weiss: That my family never really interacted with one another, or is it because my father’s in jail?
Yang: The second one. It, doesn’t hurt as much.
Weiss: Like you wouldn’t believe… You heading off?
Yang: Yeah, I’m going to go home before one of them show up. Plus I need to get ready for my date tomorrow~!
Weiss: Well, I wish you luck then. And, don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.
Yang: And, what exactly is it that you do, do?
Weiss: Hey!
Yang: Hahaha! Bye~!
Weiss: See you later, Yang. And, good luck to you Mr. Thief, because you’re going to need it…

I see from your previous post that you probably don’t have a very high opinion of Raven and Taiyang. Could I tease those thoughts out? Thoughts on Phoenix and what their pre-canon relationship could’ve looked like?
I ask because it’s my obsession right now, but by all means go to town if you’ve got something scathing to say.
oh man. tai and raven.
i mean okay let me just start point blank with i dont care about team strq. i truly do not care.
-summer up until v9 has had approximately No Importance to the story beyond tropey dead parent backstory. and now shes a liar who (unintentionally) framed ozpin, and favored her birth daughter over yang (at least in my eyes by virtue of leaving her emblem to ruby and nothing to yang)
-raven was never all that interesting to me back in the day beyond a cool design that seemed like a genderbent adam tbh and then when we did get to know her she was genuinely someone i wondered if the writers were TRYING to make her stupid on purpose. and NOW shes a massive fucking hypocrite who ALSO framed ozpin and she and summer heavily contributed to the reason the mains didnt trust ozpin which spiraled into them not trusting ironwood and well we saw where that went
-qrow was easily and obviously the best due to being the only one that actually mattered but theyve sanded off his flaws and uniqueness over time to where i kinda hope he gets killed off soon bc i cant stand to see him either get with robyn or get the shiro voltron treatment where he gets with some no name guy to appease fair game shippers.
-and tai... hes point blank a terrible parent, to where qrow "i was raised by bandits and have a bad luck semblance and crippling alcoholism" had to be the dad that stepped up. hes not a good teacher, he seemingly didnt give a shit about ruby, a teenager, trekking across the world with only other teenagers he didnt know despite knowing that a) his first lover was in mistral and kills huntsmen and b) his second lover was presumably killed for her silver eyes, the trait ruby shares, he apparently never talked with yang about her semblance despite being their teacher at signal and it took her maiming another student on live television and her nearly dying in a terrorist attack to actually talk to her? he sucks lol
like i know ppl want team strq backstory and while i would prefer that over the fucking justice league crossover, i simply do not care at this point
ALL THAT TO SAY. raven and tai and summers dynamic is Weird to me? like he moved on from raven So Fast and ravens motivations are so stupid i cant. she says "the tribe is our family" and then we see the 'tribe' and its literally like a gang of criminals that live in tents and steal and murder people. they never show us anything that makes me understand why raven would want to go back to them? even if theyre ""family"" theyre shitty??? idk
i would love to hear what YOUR feelings are though ! maybe you can illuminate something i cant see haha

I love The Beethis, it's literally everything that was in my head up until now that defended the bees.
And now it's cannon and I found myself finishing your sentences as I read. (like seriously what is your day job? your such a good writer)
HOWEVER (the cliche i know)
I wonder if you could talk a little more on Yang and Blake as oxymorons of themselves during normal RWBY (1-8) and the sudden switch to Blake as confident (due to her realization she was too hesitant before) and Yang as cautious, the juxtapositions of them switching in insecurity. [as in blake the
careful one and yang headfirst ] and also I trust you to know better than me exactly the moment each character grows enough to be able to come out of their initial ends of the spectrum and into what they were for V7/8 and the eventual kiss.  Finally (i know this is a big one) What do you see as next?
(sorry for asking a 200 word question)
Hi! Don’t apologize for the long question, I love it! I’ll do my best to go through as you say it. My day job is a receptionist, at least until I can afford to go to a school lol.
As far as your question about when you think that Blake and Yang changed, I think it’s more of a complex thing, and you can disagree but I don’t think that Yang really changed at all.
Yang has always been a strong and confident character, but she isn’t shown to express her own emotions and tends to put others first, I don’t think it was a change in confidence for her, but more of a shift in the situation.
She’s always been nervous and afraid to open up, only really doing so when it also goes to help those around her (I.e. burning the candle, she opened up to Blake to help Blake, not to talk about herself)
She’s a person who is deeply troubled about getting attached to people, everyone she’s loved has left, Summer left for her mission, Raven left for her tribe, Blake left in an attempt to protect her, Tai was physically present but mentally absent. Even Ruby left at the beginning of volume 4, and though she understood this action and ultimately wanted to protect her sister it was still something that happened. After Blake left I think it closed her off more, Yang was always confident in a material way and always knew how to present herself as such.
So all in all, I don’t think yang was ever confident expressing her feelings to Blake or to anyone, at least not seriously. She was always used to cheesy flirting and more joking remarks because it was something that she used to use in fighting and general interactions, so she was fine with expressing the less serious feelings that she had but as soon as it came to anything with substance and consequences, her first thought was always of Blake, of what anyone other than her would want. And because of the insecurity set up by all the abandonment, she didn’t even let herself believe that Blake could even feel the same way.
For Blake, it’s a totally different situation, she’s just come out of an abusive romantic relationship when she meets Yang, and for a while I don’t think she even considers anything, but once she does realize her feelings, even though she is able to express it in smaller ways, she’s to scared to say anything.
Blake’s concern has always been making it up to Yang, and after she comes back, she doesn’t think that she deserves to have that happy ending with Yang, she has too much to make up for. Her anxieties always come down to Thé consequences for her, not because she’s selfish, but because the last time she let this happen she ended up having to kill someone.
She knows Yang isn’t Adam and never will be, but she hasn’t considered a relationship because there’s just too much happening. She feels it would be selfish if her to try to have this relationship in this world. So she stays quiet, but she also stays open. She’s still insecure in herself, viewing herself as unworthy of a person like Yang. She cares deeply about what Yang thinks of her and doesn’t want to do anything that could risk that.
After Yang falls, there’s a moment for Blake. She’s desperate, she’s angry, and she’s sad. It’s not something we see her express, but I think she’s also regretful. Sure she’s had all these little moments with Yang, and sure they both know they’re on good terms now, but she didn’t get to say how she really feels. Yang died with that space still between them. Sure there wasn’t really enough time to breathe to even talk about it, but that doesn’t make it any less painful.
When Blake wakes up in the Ever After, when she realizes that Yang is alive, she knows that she can’t waste that time anymore. She can’t be so apprehensive, she can’t care about what is thought of her or if the change could be bad because it couldn’t be worse than losing her. Nothing could. She knows Yang, she’s confident she does, and she’s done with dancing around her feelings, avoiding what she wants to do, and that presents as her confidence in vol. 9.
As for what I see next, clearly just speculation, but I think that they get their happy ever after. At least between them personally, I don’t think they’re going to have relationship problems. The show has enough drama and enough otherwise going on that it doesn’t need that, and Blake and Yang could serve as a bit of light in an otherwise dreary story. I don’t think that they’re going to go about Ruby being jealous or anything just because they spent so much time addressing and solving Blake and Yangs problems with each other I don’t think they’re going to create any new major conflicts for them. Of course I could be wrong, but I just want to be optimistic lol.
Thank you so much for the ask!

26 Reasons why Qrow is not Ruby’s father and why Taiyang is Ruby’s father
In response to the toxic aspect of the fandom attacking CRWBY and demanding that their desires for Qrow be chosen over canon, or how they feel their theory is more valid than the show itself? I have researched RWBY to make this 26-point Discussion as to why Canon is valid, and fancanon is not when it comes to Qrow Branwen, Ruby Rose, Taiyang Xiao Long, and Summer Rose.
 1.       “Monty said NO”    Most obviously. Monty Oum.
He said in this tweet that ruby and yang are half-sisters…half-sisters,  which means they share the same mom or dad…in this case Taiyang….
  https://twitter.com/montyoum/status/492070189731565568
Now people have claimed “he obviously meant step-sisters or cousins” Why is it that every time we show the English dictionary to you people or ask you to read it, that you claim you are being attacked or that you claim Monty was misleading us?
 2.       The writers said NO
Miles Luna debunked this theory on Reddit…
He pointed out that Ruby sees Qrow as a Role model, so she adapts her colors to be similar to his.
And you don’t need somebody to be blood to be your role model.
https://www.reddit.com/r/RWBY/comments/7x3w4s/crwby_ama_w_miles_luna_kerry_shawcross_and_paula/du5d67g/?
 3. “Rooster Teeth said NO” Rooster Teeth even said that Qrow is "Ruby and Yang's Uncle" They also said “Ladies, he’s not your man”
https://twitter.com/RoosterTeeth/status/1067205612331782144
 4.  “But what if Summer had feelings for Qrow? Why does Qrow Serve Ozpin?” Qrow said in Volume 6 " No one wanted me... I was cursed... I gave my life to you because you gave me a place in this world... I thought I was finally doing some good... " So he was saying he wasn't wanted, so no relationship with Summer. SUMMER DID NOT WANT HIM. And he was literally saying he served Ozpin because Ozpin gave him purpose. It’s pretty sad how people think Qrow can only be a complex character if he obsesses over another person’s wife and child. What , you wanna make him Severus Snape, the Lilly Potter stalker who insulted a girl’s face and tried to poison a boy’s pet and publicly outed a teacher?
https://rwby.fandom.com/wiki/Qrow_Branwen/Quotes#So_That.27s_How_It_Is
5, "But Qrow could be lying" Except in volume 6 Qrow literally said "Don't lie...we're better than that"
And in volume 7?
" Long time ago. I just found working alone tends to be for the best "
" Gotta say, I’m still not really used to working with other Huntsmen in the field. "
And finally World Of Remnant on Patch.
" Nice place to raise a family, if you're into that sort of thing. "
https://rwby.fandom.com/wiki/Qrow_Branwen/Quotes#So_That.27s_How_It_Is
  6.  “Qrow fans claim that Ruby and Summer form a core part of Qrow’s character and backstory.” WRONG! The main accusation for demanding Rooster Teeth / CRWBY change the backstory for Qrow would accomplish nothing.
Raven already pushed Yang onto Taiyang to raise on his own.
Qrow forcing Tai to Raise Ruby alongside Yang while Qrow could regularly visit, and while Summer lived with Taiyang, Yang, and Ruby?
It would cheapen Qrow’s character….blood isn’t everything.  Neither are cliches.
 7. “But what if Qrow gave Ruby to Tai to raise after Summer’s death?” Volume Chapter 6, Burning the Candle.
Yang tells Blake that she (yang) and Ruby were raised together by Summer and Taiyang…not by Taiyang on his own, but by Summer and Taiyang.
Yang clearly had memories of being raised by Summer and Tai both,  which meant that Summer and Taiyang lived together raising Ruby and Yang for Several Years.
 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZkN-53h5Os
  8. “Does Taiyang care about Summer or Ruby?” Taiyang was noted to have shut down when Summer didn’t come back…. Yang noted this in Volume 2 Chapter 6, and Ruby mentioned in the first episode of Volume 3 that Taiyang missed Summer. Qrow also said that Ruby is Taiyang’s “Special Angel”…. Ruby has also pointed out numerous times that Taiyang is Overprotective of Ruby. In fact, Ruby's conversation with Penny about overprotective fathers.
 9. “Qrow knows Taiyang is Ruby’s Father. Taiyang knows Ruby is Taiyang’s daughter. Qrow has referred to Taiyang as Ruby’s father during volume 3 and 7. Taiyang referred to Ruby as his daughter in volume 3.
 10. “Why didn’t Taiyang train Ruby in Martial Arts?” Taiyang is a martial arts fighter.   Ruby has neither the build nor the personality for ruthless hand to hand combat like her sister… Taiyang would trust Qrow, despite his semblance.   Remember how bad Ruby was in v5?
 11. “Qrow’s semblance is not what his fans exaggerate it to be”
Speaking of Qrow’s semblance? He was playing video games with his nieces,   taught at Signal Academy,   and could train Ruby… Clearly,  his semblance is not what theorists make it out to be.
 12. “Why doesn’t Qrow treat Yang the same way he treats Ruby?”
Yang is the daughter of Qrow’s sister, who abandoned the team.
During a one on one interaction between Qrow and Yang after yang vs mercury, Qrow called his own niece crazy, after she had been framed.
Qrow was not empathetic to Yang.
Qrow may not like Yang’s resemblance to Raven.
Ruby is the daughter of his two closest friends, so of course he’d prefer Ruby over Yang.
 13.  “Examples of Taiyang caring for Ruby.”
Volume 2 Ruby was excited when Taiyang sent a package in the mail, not even knowing it was Zwei.
Taiyang was at Ruby’s bedside in V3, and gave her a kiss on the forehead.
He also tried to bring her breakfast in bed.
Taiyang said he wanted to chase after Ruby, but had to nurse Yang back to health.
During the V8 broadcast, Taiyang was upset when the broadcast was cut.
 14. “Genetics research”
Black hair is the subtype of the pigment for blonde hair…
Also, Ruby’s got the same hair strand that Yang and Taiyang have.
Finally, black hair is more dominant.
So Ruby doesn’t need blonde hair to be Taiyang’s kid.
https://askinglot.com/is-black-hair-a-dominant-or-recessive-gene
https://www.quora.com/If-a-jet-black-haired-parent-and-a-blonde-parent-have-children-what-color-hair-would-the-children-likely-have
 15. “The STRQ Photo”
The photo....Qrow was with STRQ for four years...do you really think Qrow is not allowed to cry on the photo unless he was romantically involved? Can't a man grieve over the death of a female friend that he was NOT in a relationship with? Or are men not allowed to have female friends? Ichigo and Rukia from Bleach for example...friendship. They were his friends, his family. People seem obsessed with the idea that Qrow cannot care about a woman unless he was romantically involved or unless he's their bastard father.
 16. “Men and Women…as friends, platonic” Harry Potter as a book showed that a boy and a girl can interact and still be friends…
Why can’t Qrow be Summer’s friend?
Why does he have to be her lover?
We’ve seen Qrow talk about Innkeeper’s skirt lengths and leer at Barmaids who flirted with him.
Also, he’s shown to be bonding with both Clover and Robyn.
People act like he doesn't flirt with anyone , and yet he does.
 17. “Bad Luck Charm” Qrow has spent his whole life with his semblance, named after a Crow.
Raised by the Branwen bandit tribe.
“You and I are not the same, you don’t want the burden of my name” Both Branwen and Qrow are names that Qrow hates due to his semblance and past…
People may think of him as cool, but Qrow suffers from self-loathing.
So NO, the Bad Luck Charm song does NOT in fact allude to Qrow being Ruby’s father, but that Qrow hates himself, hence a major part of why he’s alcoholic.
Proof of which is his volume 6 exchange with Ozpin about being useful, which Qrow disagrees with, leading him to drink further. Yang literally said that she had never seen qrow so drunk before in v6.
And Ruby encourages his self-worth leading him to try giving up alcohol….
His alcoholism is tied to low-self-esteem, not relationships.
 18. Manga Anthology
Taiyang was shown in the Manga Anthology to have shut down upon Summer’s Death. That impacted his relationship with Ruby and Yang. Qrow? Is relatively unaffected. The good Uncle helping around the house. Taiyang haters and Qrow stans took this to demand that Qrow is entitled to Ruby, despite Taiyang recovering and doing his best to be a father. Anything Qrow does is worshipped like Mother Teresa, while anything Taiyang does, good or bad, is downplayed and smashed. Taiyang loved Summer so much he was devastated by her death. Qrow was unaffected. Think about that.
 19. “I like Brats” Why does Qrow spend time with kids he’s not related to? Because he likes kids. You know how there are adults who enjoy being around brats? That’s Qrow. He didn’t have romantic feelings for Summer, he liked being around her because she was like a kid. Similar to how Blake likes Ruby’s idealism? And trusts her leadership?
 20.  “Taiyang the 2-timer accusation”
A woman on youtube claimed that Taiyang was a 2-timer who cheated on raven with summer, as there was, in her and her friends’ minds, “no way that taiyang could be with half his team” When asked about TaiQrow as a joke, she was angered that people even ship TaiQrow.
But let me ask you this. Are you the same person you are now that you were 10 years ago? People claim that Qrow was somehow cool in beacon…because he’s cool now. But Taiyang, who raises two kids, and holds a job and a house…cannot be ruby’s father…because he’s not cool? And that somehow he was never cool? I’m sorry, I didn’t know you had to be cool to be a parent. I also had no idea people were only allowed to be in one relationship per lifetime. Raven freaking abandoned Tai for the tribe. Summer chose Taiyang over Qrow. People literally make Qrow out to be either an OC in a shipping fanfic, or a Naruto fanfic where Naruto is written to be fawned over by a girl whose canonical spouse, boyfriend, or male friend is somehow rewritten as evil.
1 year…..in 1 year since Raven abandoned Taiyang and Yang, Summer Rose the friend of Taiyang’s who he had known for 4 years, became more than a friend.
So no….Taiyang is not a two-timer…he moved on from Raven.
 22. “Why can’t Taiyang talk about Summer?” To WHO? He’s barely got 15 minutes of screentime, and the writers did NOT do him any favors when they had Qrow demand he leave so Qrow could tell Ruby a secret Ozpin trusted him with, before telling Ruby to run away from home leaving only a freaking note. Terrible daughter. Even Yang was prepared to do the same! To a man whose first wife abandoned him! At least Weiss has a legit reason for acting as she does against Jacques, several at least. Ruby? No. Now why would Taiyang talk about Summer’s fighting style to Yang when trying to get her to stop acting like Raven in her fighting style and semblance? Sure if there was more time…but RT at the end of the day isn’t some money-hungry political entity, it’s a startup at the end of the day, they don’t have the ability to do a full anime episode. Also, Taiyang cannot go out on these active missions…he was a schoolteacher who did not do missions until only recently…he was retired, remember.
 23. “These fanworks make more sense to me”
Qrow fans have tried using fanworks to justify their theory or ship, the same way Blacksun fans or Adam apologists make similar claims, and even Raven fans try to claim Raven is somehow a good mother. What do these fanworks do? Hate on Taiyang. Dismiss Ruby and Yang being half-blood siblings. Ignore multiple elements of the show or scenes. Occasionally shit-talk the writers.
Every time somebody tries to make a “rwby rewrite” or “rwby alt” or “Qrow is ruby’s father au” they cannot do it without completely rewriting the characters in so many forms and even the show, till Qrow, Raven, Taiyang, and Summer are NOTHING like they are in the show…And ONLY how a shipper wants qrow to be.
Or rewriting qrow to be nothing like he is in the show.
Most Alt or Rewrite consists of making Taiyang abusive, a cheater, or refusing to allow him to interact with Summer, while regularly pushing qrowxsummer at each other.
So no…it’s not that it makes sense to them through some fanart….a headcanon that has been debunked is no longer headcanon. A theory that is shut down is no longer a theory. There’s a reason anti-vaxxers and flat-earthers still exist. Because to them, their theories make more sense than reality. Which is why people still believe Qrow is Ruby’s father the same way people believe vaccines cause autism. Neither are true, and no amount of facts will shut them down, but they’re both popular theories.
 24. “Qrow Rings and Cross”
People claim that Qrow was married to Summer or that his cross represents him mourning Summer. Did the STRQ photo, in v3, the same volume as his appearance, not show Qrow with his rings, his cross, and angrily scowling, while Summer was right next to Taiyang?
 25. “What about Summer Rose’s choice?”
Remember how I said making Qrow’s character based on solely Ruby and Summer, ignoring everything regarding the tribe and ozpin giving him hope, and the grimm reaper…was bad writing? There’s a reason people hated v5. Raven was proven to be the deadbeat, Qrow was shown to have friends, and that Taiyang knew about Salem, and of course it was confirmed that Yang and Ruby again were sisters by Raven.
Now how about Summer? Team leader….took a man and a daughter who were abandoned by her friend…and made them her own. Yang calls Summer Rose “Supermom” and “Her Hero”…was literally willing to storm a bandit camp so Raven could use her portal to take Yang to Qrow, so she could get to Ruby. And yeah, I know the RWBY critics scream “why didn’t Yang just look for Ruby in Mistral?” It’s a bloody kingdom, and Yang was pursuing a lead, that Tai had given her, and Qrow told Yang he’d look after her sister. Remember that? Oh wait, RWBY Critics forget, my bad. Anyway, she’s more of a sister to Qrow than his blood sister Raven, she’s more of a mother to Yang than Raven, and she’s more of a spouse to Tai than Raven. Good Stepmother. Non-married couple. Relationship built on trust. Blood is not the same as family. (Example Weiss’s remark to her father) (Or Dom Toretto)
So making Summer into a throw-away character who dies so that a brooding jerk of an alcoholic can claim character development? Making a woman nothing except a throw-away for a man to get development is BAD WRITING. For God’s Sakes, even Pyrrha was written better than that! She interacted with team rwby, nora was always helping her out, and so was Ren (though those shakes are a crime against humanity” But when Qrow fans try to demand he’s ruby’s father? Their fanworks make Summer as much of a flat character as Preston Harvey from Fallout 4, where they make Summer unable to do anything but be obsessed with Qrow and having his child, similar to how Preston cannot think of anything other than “Another settlement needs your help, I’ll mark it on your pip-boy”
 26. Finally, the accusations that CRWBY are lying.
“You have to be ****** if you believe CRWBY when they say Qrow isn’t Ruby’s father” “CRWBY is lying, it’s what writers do” “It’s okay for writers to lie, it’s good for plot” “I’d prefer it if CRWBY was lying to us” “Monty is dead, the writers should change it now” “Monty is dead, nothing else in the writing matters” “Monty was hiding the truth from us” “CRWBY is hiding the truth about Qrow being Ruby’s father” “It makes sense for CRWBY to lie to us” Look at this…Twitter, Youtube, Facebook, Tumblr, Reddit, instagram…. The first quote? Was a woman who was using an anti-autism anti-disability slur defending the theory. Never have I ever seen people so obsessed with a  theory that they would deny reality and be rude to the very writers and original creator. But the QrowxSummer and Qrow is Ruby’s Father fandom group has made countless cases of this. THIS is how they defend their theory? And people upvote, like and support these remarks? SHAME SHAME SHAME
 Conclusion:
I get how people desire qrow to be Ruby’s father for ships or fanfics.
Even to where they make Taiyang a hated character just for the sake of making sure nobody disagrees with them.
But the attacking of RWBY and CRWBY, claiming that “this needs to be fixed”, or getting angry at RT for not giving you the non-canon ship you want? Claiming that just because you want it to be so, that somehow your ship/theory has “validity?”
That reflects poorly on the fandom and critics.
But then again…. It’s easy to ignore what’s real and what’s a fact that when theorists and ship-pushers and CRWBY Haters on youtube tells you to stop listening to monty and the writers, and instead believe whatever you want and claim whatever you want, Because surely you know what’s better for the show than the people who worked on it, right? Ha ha ha, no. THAT is the ULTIMATE disrespect somebody calling themselves a fan could ever give. And if you think or agree with that type of logic, you should look in the mirror.
I looked for backup sources to defend CRWBY and RWBY, you’ll find them below.

The whole idea that Yang and Blake couldn’t have possibly been confirmed as queer before volume nine because there just wasn’t a natural place where it could happen before is ridiculous to me for two reasons. The first reason is that there havebeen organic moments when Blake and Yang could officially be in a relationship, like Yang admitting to having feelings for Blake during one of their conversations in volume six, them going out dancing but as a first date and not just invited to be part of a group which makes it not a date, or meeting back up in volume eight after the team split and kissing.
But the second reason is that I feel like a lot of people kind of have this idea that the only way for Blake and Yang to have been confirmed as queer would be kissing each other or dating each other, and therefore they couldn’t have been confirmed earlier in the series because Blake and Yang are supposedly a slow burn. But this... Just isn’t the case. First of all, Blake and Yang don’t feel convincing as a romantic slow burn, because they didn’t really do anything romantic until volume six, and then their relationship was rushed to the ‘never want to leave each other at all for any reason’ stage without attaching any sort of label or indisputably romantic actions along with it, so it actually would’ve helped the idea of them as a slow burn to have confirmed romantic feelings on either side earlier on in the show (they don’t have to kiss or date to get this,) but also because there are ways to confirm that they’re LGBTQ+ without having them in a confirmed relationship with each other.
To be fair, there are a lot more ways to naturally confirm Yang’s sexuality than Blake’s, because Yang is a fairly open and flirty person and I’ve already talked about the fact that Blake is a more closed off person and doesn’t make a lot of moves. But, here are some ways that they (mostly Yang) could’ve been confirmed prior to volume nine.
(Also, there’s some criticism of the bees and a HUGE amount of RWDE towards the writers under the keep reading. Bees and RWBY fans, read at your own risk.)
1. When Yang ogles at shirtless men in like, the third episode of volume one, it goes a little different. Ruby says that their dad wouldn’t approve of everyone’s choice of pajamas and when Yang says “I know I do,” and growls towards a group of scantily clad people, it now includes women in pajamas as well as shirtless men.
2. During the dance arc, Yang goes with a girl, maybe Velvet or maybe one of the nameless randoms in the background. Nothing comes of this date, it just happens. When Yang wanders off to talk to Ruby, Ruby asks where her date went off too, and Yang is like “who knows?”
3. During the dance arc, when Yang and Ruby talk to each other, Yang admits that she’s developed feelings for Blake, but doesn’t make any moves because Blake seems happy with Sun and she doesn’t want to cut in.
4. In volume three when Neon and Yang are fighting, the two flirt back and forth, including Yang telling Neon she’s hot, but annoying as hell.
5. During volume four, Yang has a heart to heart with Tai about Blake and admits that she’s especially upset at Blake because of her feelings towards Blake.
6. During volume four, one of Blake’s heart to hearts with either of her parents or Sun include Blake admitting that she has some feelings towards Yang, but Adam makes it impossible to even consider if it’s anything real. (NOTE: Obviously her discussing romantic feelings towards Yang with Sun might be complicated, but Sun is a good friend who would put his own feelings aside, and it would also make for a good opportunity for Blake to tell Sun she has feelings for him too, confirming for sure her place as a bisexual woman.)
7. Ilia and Blake have a romantic history. “Oh but that overcomplicates-” Ilia is already Adam-But-Better-Dialogue-And-Redemption-Arc, they might as well have had some sort of romantic history too. It doesn’t have to be made into a big deal. This also is not my favorite option though.
8. During Yang and Weiss’s Volume 5 heart to heart, Yang admits to having feelings for Blake.
9. During Blake and Sun’s Volume 6 parting, she admits she’s confused about her feelings, but might have feelings for Yang, and needs time to figure it out.
10. Yang admits that she has feelings for Blake during one of their talks in Volume 6.
11. Yang or Blake talk to anyone during Volume 6 about their feelings even in passing.
Now the more ‘kiss/date’ moments that I talked about before.
12. They have a full on kiss after they fight Adam, it’s something they can actually address and work through in volume seven, that they had this kiss during such a traumatic and emotionally heavy moment and now don’t know where to go with their relationship. “It would take up too much time in-” No it wouldn’t, just replace the awkward, pointless ‘not confirmed’ moments between them, or just take less time for forced Renora drama.
13. They go on a full on date like I suggested before instead of ‘going dancing’ with Neon Katt.
14. During the course of Volume 7, they have any conversation - however in passing - with any of the people they’re supposedly close to, about their budding romantic feelings to each other.
15. Before they split into groups in volume 8, Yang kisses Blake goodbye on the cheek.
16. While Nora discusses her relationship problems with Ren to Weiss and Blake and Blake is literally giving her romantic advice, she admits that she knows where Nora is coming from because of her own history and then says “Even now with Yang, I’m still struggling with it,” both admitting to the fact that their relationship isn’t perfect and Blake is having problems with co-dependency, and confirming that they’re currently in or dancing around a romantic relationship.
17. Instead of making Yang and Jaune have a weird ‘Jaune thinks Yang is worried Ruby will think less of her for their argument but Yang is really only worried Blake will think less of her because ??? They didn’t do the same thing together, I guess???’ they could’ve had Yang actually say she feels like she should’ve gone with the other team and doesn’t like leaving Blake, leading to a brief conversation where Jaune says that if Blake really cares about her, she’s not going to think less of Yang for not being with her all the time. Yang says that she’s just worried because Blake has been in a relationship where she was treated horribly, and Jaune assures her that she’s not like that and Blake knows she’s not like that.
18. When Blake and Yang meet back up near the end of volume eight, they kiss like I suggested before.
19. During any time during any eight seasons of a show that’s been on for almost a decade, however ‘in passing’ of a moment, either Blake or Yang could’ve said or done anything to confirm that they are, in fact, not straight.
They could’ve had at least Yang be confirmed to have attraction to women as early as like the third episode of season one. The ‘it never had an organic moment before and therefore Blake and Yang aren’t queerbaiting’ excuse just doesn’t apply. There were tons of opportunities for either girls status as queer to be confirmed during this eight season long time period, and instead, they gave no real indication that either of them felt anything more than friendship towards any woman ever for five straight seasons (PUN NOT INTENDED,) and then started in on non-confirmed coding like hand-holding and forehead nuzzling while refusing to put a label to it and likely knowing that people are saying they’re just sister-ish because despite the pretty clear romantic coding, Blake and Yang still haven’t done anything that hasn’t been done by sisters in popular media, and all the while, they sell merch using Bumbleby shipping to do it and have ‘pride shirts’ with all four main girls on it despite the fact that none of them have actually been confirmed to be queer.
This whole idea that it can only be considered queerbaiting if Blake and Yang don’t kiss in volume nine because there just wasn’t an opportunity to confirm it before, and the whole idea that Bumbleby was one hundred percent always the plan from the beginning that’s being pushed by VAs like Barbara However-You-Spell Dunklemen (I’m not looking it up and the only thing my autocorrect is giving me is ‘donkeymen’) is saying... All of that is just so frustrating to me.
It’s already been queerbaiting, it’s not ‘only queerbaiting if it doesn’t happen after ten years’ because apparently people can only be confirmed gay if the time is right for them to kiss the one person they were intended to be endgame with and then they don’t, because the numerous chances to just drop the information that yes, queer people exist and have attraction to other people even if they’re not kissing their future spouse just don’t count.
And if it was planned from the beginning, then the writers are either purposefully stringing people along by being vague and trying to see how long they can get away with it, or they’re just woefully incompetent and bad at writing. From where I’m standing, it can be both/and just like @why-i-hate-rwby-now said in a recent post.
Long post short, there have been tons of chances to confirm Blake and Yang as queer before now, and ‘it could only be confirmed in volume nine so why complain about it until after that season’ is a super annoying thing to be told as a queer person.

“What is with the Blake / Yang hate this week? Folks seem particularly fired up.” I asked this question on a forum because of something I’ve noticed the last few days on discussions about Blake and Yang/Bumbleby/shipping in general. I keep seeing the same answers.  “It ruins the team’s dynamic.”
Welp, I’m pretty certain none of those people would say that Raven/Tai and Tai/Summer ruined the team’s dynamic. Or that Ren and Nora are currently  ruining the team’s dynamic.  What is this holy than thou crusading to protect the sanctity of the team dynamic? Rwby has always been first and foremost about interpersonal relationships. It’s what drives the actual plot. Character growth, failing relationships/friendships. How they change over time, either to grow or crumble.
“It’s being shoehorned in, for fanwank.” How? How is it being shoehorned in? Give me a narrative breakdown as to where/how/when this occurs? Compare it to the Sun/Blake narrative and show me the glaring differences between the Yang/Blake narrative to prove that bumbleby was never planned yet blacksun was?  (Sidenote. Anyone that has been asked to do this on the forum has yet to do it.)
“Yang showed interest in boys.”“ Yes, yes she passed comment once. In vol 1 episode 1. 8 VOLUMES AGO. She has shown not a lick of interest in guys since. Its almost as if she’s like any normal 17 year old girl who is growing into adulthood and figuring herself out, who might be realising her interest in Blake isn’t strictly platonic and is trying to navigate that whilst also grappling with what that means with regards to their friendship. And dealing with an over arching situation that is, ya know, potentially the end of the world as they know it.  It’s about two years in universe, right? Which is about right of an amount of time for what its happening between them to play out. It only feels like longer to the audience because, well, its taken 8/9 years to tell the story up until that point.
“The Fans are too loud/vocal/come on too strong.” Ok, this one I agree with, we are loud and vocal and that might come across as coming on strong  (here’s a huge) BUT, there is actually a genuine explanation for why it seems that way.   If you really think about it, objectively.
Hear me out.  Fans are excited about the potential representation we don't otherwise usually get in media. I mean, if you have 10,000 pieces of media and only ONE of them represents lgbtq people, of course we’re gonna be excited and talk about the ONE quite a bit with others who are like us. This might also be the first time we’ve seen anything like this, or seen ourselves represented in a somewhat positive light. It stands to reason that the other 9999 pieces aren't going to hold our attention as much, esp if its the same hetero romance played out a bajillion times before, right? I mean, if you have a group of people who are constantly represented in the 9999 other shows, their voices are going to spread thinner, right? They aren’t going to be gathered all on one place, talking about the same thing because there are 9999 other choices to connect them to other people. They aren’t going to care as much if their straight ship happens/doesnt happen
“Hey, I can move onto another piece of media that is churned out by the status quo. No big deal.”
Hetero romances are ten a penny. Flick through netflix, hulu, crunchy roll etc.  Where as if you have a group of people who are only represented in ONE show out of the 10,000 those people are going to gather in one place to connect with others and its only going to seem like they are louder due to the densely packed space.  These same people have been majority silent about the other 9999 pieces of media as their voice isn't usually represented in a positive light - being queer characters are usually brutally murdered or sidelined. (Thankyou Hays Code.)- or not even represented at all. (Bury Your Gays is a trope for a reason, folks.) And we are NEVER the titular characters. We’ve been living on crumbs and subtext for decades! Not to mention showrunners who actively queerbait the hell out of us for ratings and viewership. The almighty Pink Pound as its often referred to in business. “But why do they have to make them gay?” You’re not made gay, you’re born gay. It just takes longer for some people to realise than others. It can be a gradual realisation. And this is quite possibly the case with Yang/Blake, slowly coming to realise their own burgeoning sexualities and attraction to each other.
”Why do they have to be gay?” They don't need a reason to be queer! They just are! Queerness is only a part of a person, not their everything. It’s actually quite refreshing to see Yang/Blake being portrayed as much more than their potential sexuality.  Ask yourself, ‘Why does a character have to be straight? And why doesn’t a straight character have to constantly reaffirm their sexuality? Why is ‘straightness’ assumed by default?’ Heteronormativity, is something that has been perpetuated by decades of media. (helped by the Hays Code with its out of date moral code. To be other is to be punished within the narrative.) That straight is the default setting. It’s not! We exist! Everywhere! We always have and we are going to talk to each other about it when we see a glimpse of ourselves represented in what has been a relative Sahara Desert when it comes to queer content were we are not villainised.   “The romance is detracting from the plot.” Two seconds ago, people were claiming that the romance was none existent. Which is it? But Nora and Ren’s romance that is being held up as a mirror to bumbleby is fine? That Jaune relentlessly pursuing Weiss was perfectly ok. Neptune openly hitting on female characters is fine.
“I don’t have a problem with LGBT. I just don’t want it forced down my throat.” Again, out of 10,000 pieces of media, this is just ONE show. Nobody is forcing anyone to watch it or participate.  Queer people have had to stomach literal 100′s of years of straight media forced upon them. Since the very conception of the written word and narrative storytelling. In plays, theatre, art, music, tv, film, on billboards, advertising, in places of education and learning etc etc. Queer people are bombarded with it whilst also being surrounded by negativity towards queerness.
“They are shoving it down my throat!” part two Is hand holding, compassion and expressing concern for another person and comforting them somehow offensive? Renora kissed, not a problem. Arkos kissed, not a problem. Show me in the sand where the line is drawn. What is the difference? Please explain this to me? Why is the expression of queerness somehow offensive? Is this because decades of media have perpetuated the false idea that all queer people are sex crazed perverts? That you’ve been groomed into thinking that queer sexuality is only based in the act of sex itself? That queer sexuality couldn’t possibly be similar to heterosexuality in its expression?
That it couldn’t possibly be about attraction, emotional, mental and maybe one day blossom into physical between two consenting adults, a pure expression of love the exact same as heterosexuality.
That some how queer love stems from some sort of deviancy or mental health issue. That queer people are some how bad or evil, and therefore their expression of affection is wrong? Oh, I wonder where those beliefs have possibly stemmed from?  “Why are they in my face?” part three.  50% of of the titular cast are potentially queer. Blake and Yang. But if you look at the overall cast ensemble that runs at minimum 16 any given volume, that’s a measly 12.5% (prolly a lot smaller if you actually counted the whole cast that appears in rotation each volume) Also, someone did the math. Blake - a titular character- actually has less spoken lines that Jaune. ffs. B&Y spent neatly a whole two volumes of 8 apart. 25% of the narrative as it stands on entirely different continents.
I fail to see how it being in someone’s face could be the case.
  “I just don't see it!”
That’s ok and perfectly valid But listen when people who have lived this experience are telling you that their experience is being portrayed on the screen. That they see themselves being represented.  OK, This completely got away from me. In conclusion. They are more straight people than queer people and media often reflects that.   We are usually the silent minority, we are sick of it but we are used to it and we are very excited that things seem to be finally changing.
It’s two characters in an large cast in ONE show out of 10,000. Its a piece of media that, for a change, hasn’t been 100% curated for straight people.  We are often not allowed to play in the sand box and if we are, we’re told to play with the broken toys, be grateful and quiet. So when we are given a sandbox to play in with new unbroken toys, we are gonna dog pile in there and make a ruckas, calling our friends over. What I’m trying to say is, it’s gonna get rowdy.  and here’s something to think about.  “When you are used to privilege, equality feels like deprivation.”

I'm bored so now I'm going to talk about Weiss and the Bees (mostly Yang). And there's nothing you can do about it.
When it comes to Freezerburn, I mostly like them as best friends (I'm more of a Whiterose/Bumbleby girl) but I would also really like them as a couple if that were the case, and totally understand why people ship them. Same thing happens with Monochrome, and Ladybug (INTERACT FOR FUCK'S SAKE). I'm gonna be talking about this as friendship.
Okay, but really, do you guys ever think about how Weiss had no fucking idea about what was happening at the camp when Yang found her?
(Honestly the only RWBY thing I haven't gotten my hands on is the manga and the anthologies -I've read the comics, the books, etc- because I couldn't find them, so correct me if I'm wrong lmao).
The thing is, back at Beacon, Yang and Weiss weren't really close. They were both closer to Ruby and Blake (though Weiss spent half of her time in the first volume butting heads with those two). They were teammates, yes, they got along (and sometimes argued too lol) and they cared for each other, but they still didn't have the same relationship. Like, Blake and Yang were partners and Beauty and the Beast and all that so of course they were going to be close. Same with Ruby and Weiss -partners, and you've read Snow White and Rose Red, they're probably supposed to be a representation from that tale as well-. Ruby and Yang are sisters so it's pretty obvious that they're close. I don't even have to talk about these two. And during the first volumes, Blake and Weiss were both, let's say, foils of each other, coming from very different places and yet having so much in common. One privileged, ignorant human, the other a misguided faunus. Both alienated by their abusers into thinking like them. Both from important families in their societies; one of the families is loving and caring, the other one is fucked up. Both came to Beacon basically running away from their abusers. Both had a complicated past with the White Fang. And of course, both of them had to deal with a broken legacy; Weiss is still dealing with it. They were both, literally, Black and White, and really understood each other. So yeah, their interactions during the series were always really nice to watch, because they really understand each other in those terms (that's why I loved that scene with Blake holding her hand showing support in volume 7).
Now, before volume five, Yang and Weiss never really had an important scene together. Yes, there was that cute scene after that fight against FNKI, the jokes and arguing and of course the legendary “what's that supposed to mean” in vol 3 (she shipped Bumbleby since Beacon fight me lol). But never really meaningful, not like the Bumbleby talk in Burning the Candle, or Weiss being kinder to Ruby and becoming friends, or- you know what I mean. They cared for each other, but the thing is, they didn't see each other as more than the rich girl and the funny girl/great older sister. I don't think Weiss even knew about Raven (again, correct me if I'm wrong, no mangas) before all that stuff. I assume Ruby talked to her about Summer and her loss, but did she know that Summer wasn't Yang's biological mother?
Because of that, I'm still finding this incredibly funny and yet so sad at the same time. Because, imagine being Weiss. You've just been kidnapped, and you're trying to escape. And then you see one of your teammates, your friend that you haven't seen in a year and you never thought you'd ever see again, right there, and she tells you that you're both going to Ruby (she immediately includes you). Not only that, she also tells you that the woman who kidnapped you is her freaking mother. Like. What the fuck. Again, maybe Ruby told her (if she did, I doubt she included the bandit part lmao), but if she didn't, Weiss probably was like “wait what do you mean isn't your mom dead? What the hell is going on?”
But well, she hugs Yang. Because (and I think people tend to forget it) the last time she saw Yang, she was incredibly injured. She had lost her fucking arm, and was probably still unconscious by the time Weiss was taken by her father (no one can tell me that if that bitch hadn't taken her, she wouldn't have stayed in Patch with them and Tai wouldn't have adopted her), meaning that she probably didn't even get to say goodbye to her, just like she couldn't say goodbye to Ruby. And now she's reunited with Yang, and apparently Raven is taking them to Ruby (who is also with JNR, some of her best old friends at Beacon) and she's just so happy because she didn't think that would happen. She really considers RBY her family. And also, again, the last time she'd seen Yang she was really hurt, so seeing her being okay was really a relief to her.
Except she wasn't okay, and she notices as soon as they start talking to Raven. Because, if Weiss really didn't know about Raven, she's just found out that Yang had been abandoned by her own mother. She literally sees how Yang loses control of herself (she flinches, which is another sign of Jackass' abuse) and how the poor girl even asks why Raven left her. She really notices how Yang is not okay at all. Yang isn't behaving the same way she did at Beacon; she's seen her down or furious, but never like that. It's been a year since she last saw her. A lot happened to her. And maybe, she also realizes that she'd never known Yang as well as she thought. Because, again, Yang was the cool older sister, the hot party girl that punches stuff and makes jokes. What else was there to know? Well, there it is. Not only has she been through hell since the Fall of Beacon, with the whole losing an arm and PTSD thing; Weiss also finds out that Yang had some serious abandonment issues and a fear of loneliness she'd never known about. The whole time at Beacon, she'd just been assuming about Yang. Just as Yang had clearly been assuming about Weiss as well.
Then there's a little calm in chapter 7 and for a while, it all seems fine; RWY and JNR are all messing with each other, remembering good times as they eat and laugh, catching up. For a while it felt like they never left Beacon and it just probably felt great, all of them being together. Yang seems fine. And next chapter, when the two of them and Ruby are just sitting and enjoying coffee and talking about how great it is being together again, it all seems fine too. And then Weiss and Ruby mention Blake and that's when Yang snaps.
Weiss loves RBY with all her heart, and it's clear that Ruby and her would accept Blake back without blinking if she came back. Which is why they're both surprised for a second when they see Yang react like that -Blake was her partner, after all, they were the closest, so why doesn't she want her back? Again “What's that supposed to mean?”
But after the whole Raven thing, Weiss clearly understood one thing: that Yang hated being abandoned, and in Yang's eyes, Blake had left her just like Raven did. Weiss knows what it feels like to be alone, so she gets that. But Weiss also understood that Blake hadn't left her just like Raven, because she saw Blake reaching for Yang's hand, apologizing as she cried. She knows Blake didn't leave them because she wanted to be alone; in her eyes, she was the one to blame for what happened to Yang. So she left, because Blake would rather have Yang and the rest being safe and hating her for leaving than anything like that happening again because she stayed. She was wrong, of course, but Weiss understood. And a part of Weiss herself knows what being abused and running away feels like as well.
Which is why the conversation in V5C8 is just so perfect. Because of the fact that she understands both of them, she's able to get through Yang, make her finally open up, and help her understand Blake's perspective too. Weiss was just the perfect person to do that.
I know we make a lot of jokes about Weiss being the Bumbleby wingwoman, but it exactly isn't a joke; Weiss really is the “wingwoman”. Whether you see it in a romantic way or not, that conversation was crucial in Blake and Yang's relationship, and Yang accepting Blake back too. And in romantic terms, I'm pretty sure that Weiss realized that Yang really had serious feelings for Blake because, well, Weiss isn't dumb. I think that conversation and All That Matters made it pretty obvious for anyone who wasn't in denial. I still laugh at people who are still in denial. I mean, c'mon, you don't have to ship it but at this point, thinking they're just friends is kinda dumb.
I love Weiss.

idk if you’ve talked about this before but. whats your ideal resolution on the Yang and Raven conflict? would you want Yang to end up closer to her mom after Raven does something to make up for well, everything? forgiving her? just being at peace with her but not forgiving her? completely reject her? do you think they can still repair the relationship? do you think either wants to at this point?
*cough* I may have. . . err, been known to discuss my feelings on that matter from time to time, hehe. But, yeah, in all seriousness, I’m glad you asked!
So. I guess the funny thing about this is that I think that their conflict has already been resolved. It’s their arcs that haven’t. I'd say their conflict in V5 can best be summed up by each of them thinking the other hates them. Raven abandoned Yang. It's clear that when Yang asks Raven why she left she's terrified of hearing she drove Raven away (because that means she may have done the same to Summer) Likewise, Raven is fully aware of how much she hurt her family by leaving and expects them to hate her. Probably kept herself from coming back with reminders that they'd never accept her after what she did to them.
But then. . .they find out the opposite is true. Raven answers Yang's question by turning into a bird. A bird Yang recognizes as one that had followed her throughout her entire life: Raven could never bring herself to fully abandon her. She was too scared to actually be there for Yang. But she couldn't help but keep an eye on her. Likewise, if you watch the vault confrontation, Raven breaks down not when Yang calls her out, but when she mentions how Tai describes her, how Yang thinks of her. Not as a monster, but as a complicated person. And she shuts down. Because holy shit. They don't hate her. Maybe she things didn't have to be this way.
So, from there, the question becomes "now what?" They both know the other cares for them on some level. They can't just easily write them off anymore. So, what next?
Personally, I don't think anything Raven does will be able to make up for what she's done. You can see the look on Yang's face when she mentions "a clean slate", she doesn't want that. That hurt is always going to be there. That pain cannot be fully undone. What I think I want her to realize is that, even though none of that can be fixed, that doesn't mean that she can't better. She left in part because she feared she could never be the perfect mother. The thing is. She doesn't need to be the perfect mother. Yang doesn't want a perfect mother. She just needs someome who can be there for her for once. Acknowledge all of the work Yang has had to do over the years and decide to ease that burden instead of placing more on her shoulders. (perhaps by passing the powers on to someone else instead of burdening Yang if she were to die)
Similarly, I think it'd be interesting to show Yang empathizing with Raven. Not necessarily forgiving her, but being able to relate to why Raven might have left. How she still is that complicated person Tai talked about, just one who let her fear control her.
Don't get me wrong, as the parent Raven still bears WAY more responsibility in this than Yang does. But I think I would ultimately say my hope for these two is that they are able to reconcile. Not with Raven acknowleding Yang as "better than her" or by "proving herself" to Yang or by burying the hatchet wholesale. But by seeing each other as the complicated individuals they are and actually getting the chance to be there for one another in their own, imperfect ways.

I got an ask for Qrow Branwen so here it comes !
My fav ship(s) for the character
I think my favorite ships for Qrow are Cloqwork and Fair Game ! Cloqwork lacked screentime in terms of canon content of course, but I love the potential here. I also have a things for shipping the sad men together xD There are a lot of REALLY great Cloqwork fanfics out there and I love seeing people write about these two <3 It's in the details but I think there's something interesting here. With Qrow who is convinced to be a curse, who came from such a harsh background... And with Ozpin who is so convinced of humanity's inherent goodness and that anyone deserves a chance. At the same time they're both very complicated people who I think would interact in cool ways. Ozpin is wise but does have a mischievous streak that I think also helped in making them both get along. Qrow is much more perceptive than he appears and that's also good for dealing with someone as secretive as Ozpin.
Fair Game also had a very good start ! The relationship was admittedly a bit tilted toward Qrow's recovery in the show, but they were nice to see together. Clover was perceptive & caring as well as patient. All great qualities for a relationship with Qrow, who has a hard time breaking down his walls and a shot mental health. At the same time, Atlas is very professional, straight-to-the-point and I think Qrow is a real breath of fresh hair in that environment. He brings a different viewpoint to the table, he's very loyal & caring and it's clear that his sass amused Clover greatly. We didn't get to learn enough about him, but Clover's VA hinted that Clover's trust was a fragile thing and he wasn't a fan of showing vulnerability. Qrow, who gives everything he has in all his relationships, would have been a great balm for that uncertainty. So yeah !
My least favorite ship(s) for the character
There are, of course, any & all ships between Qrow & the kids or Qrow & Salem's team. But outside of these obvious "nope", I'll have to go with Jailbirds. This is COMPLETELY personal but I have a really hard time liking Robyn's character as of V7 end/V8 so I'm barely interested in her dynamic with Qrow. I did appreciate her talking down Qrow from revenge because he was only doing it for his own sake but... That's about it. I find her way too abrasive (hidden behind her shiny Robinhood looks). And whereas Clover (imo) was pretty good at getting Qrow to face his issus head-on & building him up, I feel like Robyn relies more on humour & deflection... Which is an art Qrow is already acquainted with, and not the best coping mechanism for him. Aaaand I just feel like she put Clover down several time in order to lift Qrow up. That, plus the queerbaiting controversy, plus her having indirectly participated to Clover's death... The ship makes me a bit uncomfortable.
My fav & least fav platonic relationship(s) for the character
My fav platonic relationship for Qrow is his bond with Ruby ! I really hope they bring it back because these two were GREAT together. Ruby's admiration was adorable. Qrow's nonchalent but clearly protective streak. They care about each other A LOT and I really loved them together. I hope they can have more moments together like back in V3-V4 or V6.
I'm not sure what my least liked platonic relationship would be. Saying Robyn again feels like beating on a dead horse but I don't really have a problem with any other ones. They're all, if not kind & good for him, at least interesting (like Raven)
My favorite thing about the character
The combination of his sassy/cynic personnality and how loyal & caring of a person he actually he is. Qrow is rough around the edges, leans easily into banter but he cares so damn much. He fit so easily next to Ruby's peppy enthusiasm in Vol 1-3, and then he was just an incredible badass and yet so damn vulnerable human in Vol 4-6. I liked that about him. How all the pieces fit together
My biggest criticism for the character
Well I have 2 things to say about that. First : V7C12 With Friends like these. What the fuck was this episode qkfazkfhkgh Qrow's brain was nerfed SO DAMN HARD, I was genuinely pissed while watching the episode. This was just a string of dumb decisions from everyone except Tyrian. But I digress -
In a more general sense, I'd say... putting Qrow in the sidelines. Him falling further into depression was a sound decision. It was interesting and fitting of his character imo. But I feel like they tied "Ruby having enough of his alcooholism" and "Ruby growing away from adults" in a way that kind of.... just put Qrow to the side and doesn't allow him to do much. In V6 finale, Qrow expresses understandable concerns about their plan to steal an airship, but instead of dealing with that Ruby's frustration with his cynicism is aired out and... the timing kind of makes the whole thing weird becaus Qrow isn't allowed to disagree with their plan ("we'll do it with you or without you") and then has to trust Ruby and let her go which AGAIN is a great moment in itself. But all that put together just like... rid Qrow of his function as a parental figure because Ruby is the leader now and he's just... kind of following along.
When was their writing at the peak according to me (ex : best season)
Okay for this one Q, I'll have to go with Vol 4 and Vol 6 for very different reasons. V4 was great because we really got to get to know Qrow. His complicated relationship with Raven. How BADASS his encounter with Tyrian was I freaking loved it. What his semblance and how it shaped his life. And it also let him be vulnerable through the poison & seeing Ruby repay his care was very nice.
Vol 6 for fleshing out, taking his issues & drinking more seriously. Showing more hopelesness and cynicism, and that he had a real drinking problem and he wasn't just a fun drunk. Plus the loss of faith in Oz showed how much Qrow needs stability and secure certainties to orbit around despite his nonchalant personnality. But I like it a bit less because it was the starting point of putting him on the side kind of.
A song I think fits them & why
Ship in a Bottle (Steffan Argus) ➸ A song about being alone in your fight, in the sense that your life is like a sail on the ocean and you are the only captain, the only one who can choose what to do with it. At the same time, there are several mentions of a "captain" as if the singer/Qrow adresses someone else. It's reminiscent of his relation with Ozpin or Clover : speaking of a deal, of being honest and sharing what's on your mind. Qrow thinks too much, he's scared and he sinks more & more as he delves into his cynicism (V6). Qrow cries, things get worse, the mention of the glass echoes his struggle with alcooholism. And the Scarewrow loses his brain, "lose touch with all the things that made [him] feel sane."
+ Problem child (Simple Plan) The Star song (Amanda Palmer) Would anyone care (Citizen Soldier) Wasted (8 Graves)
A headcanon to make up about them
Qrow didn't have the most normal childhood and because of that he had to learn a lot for Ruby & Yang. Notably, Qrow had absolutely 0 notion of what was an appropriate presents for young girls. As a result, he tended to simply bring back from his travels whatever shiny thing might have caught his attention. Could be a weird flower. Could be a pretty knife. Or even junk that his corvid brain latched upon.
Tai designed a look(Tm) that Qrow learned to recognize as "No, not appropriate." After a while, Yang learned to mimick it (but rather at random, she didn't really recognze what was appropriate and what wasn't). Ruby always liked his presents though.
What I would change about them if I was making a re-write
I CLEARLY would rewrite V7C12 so that Qrow & Clover keep their brains kzjhfkqhzk There were ways to reach the same conclusion without like... having a Qrow-Tyran team-up which was REALLY weird
I see 2 main possibilities to stick close to canon content - After the crash, Tyrian gets free but he keeps playing dead for a bit. Since there is no 3rd menace, Clover and Qrow's argument devolve into a fight as seen in canon. At one point, Clover manages to briefly disarm Qrow. They discuss for a bit, you can even put the exact same dialog as in the ep. Then Tyrian takes action, moving out of the shadows to kill Clover with Qrow's discarded weapon. Braincells saved. OR - Instead of having Qrow & Tyrian outright team up, Tyrian just... keeps instillating doubts in their mind. Qrow & Clover are temporarily allies in taking Tyrian down but because of this, they don't TRUST each other which cause missteps and make them less effective. At one point, Qrow tries to attack Tyrian who is behind Clover. But because neither Qrow nor Clover really have faith in the other at that moment (and because Tyrian is poisonning their mind), Clover automatically steps back or aside. He doesn't entirely trust Qrow. Because of this small hesitation, Qrow's attack fails. Tyrian manages to disarm him. Tyrian uses Qrow's weapon to kill Clover. There could even be some message here about the lack of Trust & letting Salem divide friends... something of that caliber in any case 🤔 It can even parallel V3 where Qrow did the same thing with Ironwood & Ironwood refused to stand aside even if he thought Qrow meant to attack him... Could lead somewhere ! Like, in V3 Qrow had faith that Ironwood wasn't to blame. Only Ironwood feared that Qrow blamed him, but Qrow knew & trusted that Ironwood wasn't to blame. In other words, Salem didn't divide them. Here, Qrow & Clover let Tyrian get into their head. And as a result Clover dies. "Together we stand, Divided we fall"
My guess for their MBTI/Enneagram
I'm still mulling on it right now but I think he might be some kind of ISTP 416. He has some weird 7ish behaviour but his need to orbit around someone/a goal, his relationship with Oz, how close he stuck to Tai & Summer sounds closer to 6 fix. He wants people to go home to. Certainty and security. His independance definitely is there but seems emphasized moreso out of necessity.
One aspect that I think would be nice to delve deeper into ? (optional)
I'm not sure mhmmm maybe his relationship with Summer ? It would be both cute & interesting. As well as finally giving us insight into who Summer was

Talk about your AUs🔪 anything you want just ramble for as long as you want
Give me those random details that might not even make it into the story
Give me it all
I haven’t spoken about my current fic,,, like at all lmao so...
Cloqwork Modern AU
- if you didn’t know, Oz is a trans lady in this fic because I really wanted to play with that idea.
- She was an orphan who grew up on the streets. She only got through school, life in general, thanks to Maria Calavera. Maria is the headmaster of Signal. She basically raised Oz.
- I’m thinking their first interaction is like Oz is found on campus, probably attempting to steal food, but she’s caught by staff. They bring her to the headmistress. Maria talks to her. Since she hasn’t transitioned, she assumes she’s a male. She calls her a “young man” but Oz is clearly uncomfortable by that. Maria notices and asks her “you don’t like being called that, huh?” Ozpin nods. Maria tells her “ok, what would you like to be called?” Oz shrugs. Maria says “that’s fine. We’ll figure it out. Now what’s your name, hon?”
- I think I want Weiss to learn about police brutality. She’s beginning to understand the types of things Faunus face, but she is unaware of how racist the justice system really is. Blake teaches her.
- Winter is a cop, a detective, in this AU. Now that Weiss is educated, she’ll help her older sister understand why she should quit.
- Whitely, last chapter, said some homophobic and transphobic things to Oscar. He only said these things because he’s overheard his father say them. He doesn’t actually understand what he’s saying.
- Oscar and him are forced into a school project together. They slowly become friends, maybe more 👀
- Oscar teaches Whitely about the LGBT+ community and more. Basically, thanks to Oscar, Whitely becomes a gay socialist.
- Ozpin and Qrow may end up going to some fancy ball. They ditch the party to go to a beach. Qrow jumps into the water and invites Oz to join him. She tells him she never learned to swim, she didn’t have anyone to teach her. As a solution; Qrow introduces the idea of him holding onto Ozpin and slowly bringing her deeper into the water. They have fun and it gets romantic. Qrow goes for a kiss, but Oz covers his mouth. She tells him she’s not ready. He understands and smiles at her.
- Qrow finds a scar on Oz. He asks about it, and for the first time, she opens up to him. She vaguely tells him that it was the result of a toxic relationship.
- RWBY goes to a school dance. Ruby and Blake have nice suits, and Yang and Weiss wear dresses. Bumbleby and Whiterose dance together. Ruby realizes she may have a crush on Weiss.
- Ruby and Weiss end up dating. Blake and Yang date too.
- Later on, Penny is introduced. Ruby starts crushing on her too. She gets confused about why she’s feeling like this. She may go to Oz, Qrow, or Tai for advice. Regardless of who it is, they tell her that it’s normal and she could be poly. Ruby introduces the idea of being in a poly relationship with Weiss and Penny. They think about it but eventually agree.

What’s your reasoning behind the desire for Qrow to be Ruby’s father? Purely curious.
Sure, thanks for asking!
There’s a couple different factors, at varying degrees of relevance. I’d like to start by saying that I have no desire for this to actually become canon, nor am I disappointed that it’s been stamped out, because again: my thoughts have no bearing on the story. Liking things is easier if you acknowledge that it’s out of your hands.
However, here’s some of the things that have motivated my interest:
Parallels. Parallels between Ruby and Qrow, and their story with others’.
Visually, Ruby and Qrow look very similar because Ruby canonically grew up imitating his look, down to the red cape, crosses from her first outfit, dark hair, and black-red color palette. This can also be said of any other father-daughter pair in the show; Blake and Ghira share a color palette, as do Yang and Taiyang. Even Weiss and Jacques share a color palette in Volume Three. Considering the importance of color thematically, I’d say it’s more than significant that Ruby and Taiyang look nothing alike. It’s more than an anime genetics mishap -- it’s an effort by the character designers to coordinate design elements from different characters, and Ruby and Taiyang do not coordinate whatsoever.
Ruby and Qrow share the same familial story beats as other characters. All members of Team RWBY spend Volume Four with their fathers. You heard me. The character arcs of each member of Team RWBY in Volume Four is driven by their fathers. Except for Ruby, who, of course, is out in the wilderness with Qrow.
Story potential. There are things we don’t know about Team STRQ that would be illuminated by this reveal.
Qrow thinks he’s a bad luck charm. Qrow began intentionally distancing himself from his family after Summer died, but instead of going back to his tribe, he stayed with Ozpin. Why? He alienated himself from his daughter in a perceived effort to keep her safe from himself, so she has no risk meeting the same end as Summer. However, he still has that emotional bond to her and the man he entrusted to raise her in his stead: Taiyang.
The idea of Taiyang getting over Raven fast enough to fall in love with and then have a child with Summer to preserve the two-year age gap concerns me. She apparently took point in being a mother to Yang, but that speaks more to STRQ family dynamics than to  previous substance in Summer and Taiyang’s relationship. It smooths out those edges to imagine that part of the hurt between Taiyang and Qrow comes from the bitterness that he abandoned his child and family like Raven, especially after Summer’s death.
Just some crazy coincidences -- scenes that make me go “hey, is that a hint?”
Very first episode. Ozpin offhandedly mentions “a dusty old Qrow,” to which Ruby responds by providing that that’s her uncle. We have a shot while she’s explaining this where Ozpin smiles at her, and knowingly sips his coffee. I’ve always seen that as him checking to make sure that that’s who she thinks Qrow is.
Ruby is technically the main character, but Qrow was always Monty’s original “RWBY OC” -- the character that molded the principles of RWBY’s character design. To invent him and then invent his niece seems like a step further than it needed to go.
Qrow, 3x12: “Tai, please.” WHAT WAS THAT ABOUT RT. GIVE US THE FORBIDDEN LORE.
And in general, Ruby just acts more naturally when talking about Qrow than when talking about Taiyang. Yang has a closer relationship to her father than Ruby. It feels appropriate to see a father-daughter relationship between Qrow and Ruby if it’s not present between her and Taiyang.
That’s a lot of it, although I’m sure there’s other things I don’t remember right now. Nobody take this post as an opportunity to refute any of this! I’m not interested in having this disproved, because I already accept the show’s canon.

Peculiar love
*During a family dinner at the Arc household*
Irina: thank you for showing up mr.Xiao Long, we were really excited to meet the father of our son's girlfriend.
Taiyang: please, just call me Tai, i don't like being so formal. Also, i should be the one thanking you for having me here today.
Alexander: Nonsense, it's a pleasure to have you here, we were both very curious to meet the man who raised such an amazing young lady like Yang.
Taiyang: you better not boost her ego though, she might get way too full of herself if she hears too much compliments.
Irina: though, i don't think she's paying much attention to what we are saying. *nods to Jaune and Yang*
Jaune/Yang: *next to each other, talking, whispering and chuckling between them.*
Irina: young love is such a beautiful thing, don't you think?
Taiyang: *with an eyebrow twitch* y-yeah, i think so.
Alexander: *patting his shoulder* relax my friend, i know how you're feeling.
Taiyang: you do?
Alexander: believe me, i have seven daughters, i can understand how you're feeling better than anyone else.
Taiyang: . . .i really don't know how i would survive in your place.
Alexander: well, it's really hard of course, but one of the benefits is that you get to understand more and more how these things work, and that helps me to be a better parent, which is why i ask you to give Jaune a chance, he's not perfect but me and Irina teached him how to be a respectable young man ever since he was a kid.
Taiyang: *a bit more relaxed* well. . .i guess i can't judge the kid without knowing him better, right?
Alexander: right. But i'm sure you will like Jaune, we always taught him to respect woman and search for their inner value instead of her exterior one, which is probably how he got to your daughter.
Taiyang: makes sense, Yang has a strong personality. Still, it will take some time to get used to the idea of Yang having a boyfriend.
Alexander: don't worry, i assure you our son will treat her with nothing but respect, and if you want a proof of it, i can give you one. Jaune?
Jaune: what?
Alexander: you love Yang, don't you?
Jaune: *smiling* of course, i think it's kinda obvious.
Alexander: but tell me, what do you love the most about her?
Jaune: hmm. . .well. . .
Irina: get ready, alexander junior is about to boast the cheesiest speech in the world for approximately thirty minutes.
Alexander: come on, you always loved my cheesy speeches, and i bet Yang loves them as we-
Jaune: she has the hottest body i've ever seen in my entire life.
Alexander: *chokes*
Irina: *double chokes*
Taiyang: *triple chokes*
Alexander: w-what!? Wait, what did you just say!?
Jaune: i said she has the hottest body in the world, its kinda hard to miss it.
Yang: he's got a point.
Alexander: i honestly can't believe it, that is not how i raised you!
Jaune: what? You always told me to be honest about my feelings, and if i have to be honest about my favorite thing about Yang then it's her body, actually, her having a body like that is the main reason we started to date.
Irina: well. . .that is quite a shock.
Taiyang: a shock!? I though you said your son better than that!
Alexander: well. . .
Taiyang: well what!? I wasn't sure about this before but i am now! I'm not letting my daughter date a boy full of hormones who looks at her like walking pair of tits!
Jaune: hold up, i don't look at yang like that.
Taiyang: you just said your favorite thing about her is her body! And that you just started to date her because of her body!
Jaune: well, that last part is true, we started to date because i loved her body, but to be completely honest, her breasts are the least interesting things she has going on.
Taiyang: wait, what!?
Jaune: its true, i mean, she has nice breasts but why would i be much interested on them *hugs her legs* IF SHE HAS SUCH STRONG THICC LEGS SHOWING OFF!!
Taiyang/Alexander/Irina: . . . . .
Jaune: i mean, just look at them! She could crush a skull with these legs! *hugs her arm* and these arms! So strong and defined, with just the right ammount of muscle! And the best of all! *hugs her stomach, drooling* these abs! Oh my god these abs! I could wash clothes on these babies! They have the perfect shape and tension, i never met a girl with abs so perfect as hers! Yang's body is perfect because i never saw a female body with such a balanced level of strong muscles like these before!
Taiyang: *speechless*
Irina: *facepalms* and of course he had to inherit your muscle fetish.
Alexander: i-i don't have a-
Irina: *pulls her shirt and shows him her abs*
Alexander: *red* . . . . . . .fuck.
Taiyang: i honestly have no words to respond to that, i'm just too shocked to do it honestly. But still, that doesn't change the fact that i'm not letting my daughter date you.
Jaune: *still hugging her abs* i'm not giving up on her though.
Taiyang: you're not- Yang! Are you really thinking about date this guy after hearing all of this!?
Yang: well. . .its not like he was lying or anything, i do have the best body around. Plus, Jaune has something no one else has that i love more than anything in the world.
Taiyang: oh please Yang, i don't want to hear about how you love how nice, kind or sweet he is okay? Many other guys will end up-
Yang: pff, what? I'm not talking about that.
Taiyang: then what are you talking about?
Yang: isn't it obvious?
Taiyang: . . . .wait, don't tell me you-
Yang: *hugging jaune's head* what other guy in the world has a hair like Jaune's!?
Alexander/Irina: *confused*
Taiyang: *facepalms*
Yang: Jaune's hair has the perfect blonde tone and has the delicate smell of a flower, not to mention how soft and silky it is! *digging her fingers on his hair, drooling a bit* ahh. . .the feeling i get from playing with his hair is almost orgasmic, i can't live without it anymore!
Taiyang: i really don't know why i'm surprised, you inherited Raven's love for hair, so of course hair would be priority when choosing a boyfriend.
Alexander: are you two really dating just because of that?
Jaune: it's not just because of that, but it plays a big part on our relationship. *chuckles* i remember telling Yang that i was thinking about getting a haircut and she started to cry asking me why i wanted to break up with her.
Yang: the same thing happened with Jaune when i decided to skip my exercises to get ice cream with my team *chuckles* he was so dramatic, it was like he caught me cheating on him.
Alexander: so you two are running a relationship based on your fetishes?
Jaune/Yang: Basically.
Taiyang: are you two for real!?
Jaune/Yang: Yup.
Irina:  are you two going to give me lots of strong blonde grandbabies at least?
Jaune/Yang: absolutelly.
Irina: *smiling* then ignore your dads, i allow it!
Taiyang/Alexander: HEY!!!

Firen Lhain: Chapter 511: Top of the World
Ruby walked up to Weiss and Yang in the living room. "Team meeting, our room." Ruby nervously said to her.
"Sure." Yang said.
"I mean, I'm still the leader, right?" Ruby asked.
"What's it about?" Yang asked.
"That's... what the meeting is about..." Ruby nervously said.
"I'll be there with bells on." Yang said.
"She most certainly will not." Weiss scoffed, and Yang looked her in the eyes with a wicked smile.
"What's the matter, Ice Queen?" Yang asked.
"Just admit you were seriously thinking about it, weren't you?" Weiss asked, to which Yang nodded.
Yang then gestured to the stairs, "Ladies first." and a flustered Weiss scowled at her as she stood.
"Yang." Ruby admonished.
"She's just upset that I'm right." Yang said, to which a frustrated Weiss nodded.
* * *
Ruby sat on one bed with Yang and Weiss sitting across from her. "Okay, so..." Ruby nervously stated, "I've tried to think of the best way to bring this up, but I really have no idea what I'm doing here. So, I'm just going to come out and say it. "We..."
"All have it hard for Jaune." Yang said.
"I wanted to say it!" Ruby exclaimed.
Weiss scoffed, "Do you have to say it that way?"
"We've all got lady-boners for Jaune." Yang said with a wide smirk, and Weiss scoffed even louder.
"So?.." Ruby nervously continued, "I really don't know what we should do, but I love you both so much... that... I really... and I mean..."
"She means she wants to kiss you." Yang added, and Weiss looked surprised.
"I - DID!" Ruby exclaimed.
"What, seriously?!" Yang asked. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"Well, I kind of thought I should, but then, with the Vytal festival, things got SO complicated... and I don't know... I mean..."
"Easy, sis." Yang said, "There's only one thing you need to do for me."
"And... that's?.." Ruby nervously asked.
"Let me kiss her, too." Yang said. Ruby looked confused, Weiss scoffed loudly.
"I mean... I guess..." Ruby said, and Yang somehow managed to pick Weiss up and dip her down in one move, bring their faces so close that they could taste each other's breath. Weiss looked nervous, but did nothing: no protest, no complaint, no scoff, no huff, just breathing as she looked into Yang's eyes. Yang leaned down and kissed her with passion Weiss had never imagined from a kiss. Yang sat up, draping Weiss gently along the bed, both of them breathing heavily.
"Point of... um... order... I think..." Ruby nervously said. Yang and Weiss were still panting, but slowly turned to look at her, expecting her to continue. "Okay, right, so, the point of the meeting was to talk about Jaune... not... um... whatever... so... I mean..."
"I say," Yang breathily voiced, "that we agree to not do anything until after what happens at Haven. It will give us all a chance to think about this. No hugging, no kissing, no confessing. Nothing overtly romantic between ANY of us until after Haven."
"Okay... but... what if Jaune hugs us?" Ruby asked, and then began rambling, "Because-he's-like-a really-good-hugger-When-I-asked-he-said-he-had-seven-sisters-and-that-seems-to-be-the-only-thing-that-ever-happened-to-him-and-I-mean-it's-like-he-didn't-have-friends-but-I'm-not-really-one-to-talk-because-I-didn't..."
Weiss and Yang looked each other in the eyes as Ruby rambled on, came to a silent agreement, stood up, and both hugged Ruby. Yang kissed her on the head. A moment later Weiss kissed her behind the ear. She was not certain of the rules for this kind of relationship. But, this was technically a chaste kiss, was it not?
Yang let the other two go, and the group hug broke up. "Alright, how about this?" Yang asked, "If Jaune hugs one of us, the others get a free hug from him. Just make sure you keep it, cool." She paused for breath, and looked at Weiss, "Right ice queen?"
"If I am an ice queen?.." Weiss asked, "do I really need to - cool?"
"Despite being an ice queen, you definitely need to learn to chill." Yang added.
Weiss looked down for a moment before looking back up, "Could I, perchance, be a Snow Angel, instead?"
Yang leaned towards Weiss, causing Weiss to flush light blue, "Let's wait until after Haven, and see what happens. Who knows, we might all have new nicknames. I, for one, and apparently his Summer Princess." she said with glee.
Weiss looked longingly for a moment before catching her breath, "I do believe it is you who needs to – chill."
"I can get a bit hot under the collar." Yang added, "and... other places... Alright, I need to get some sweat in to work out this, uh, enthusiasm I have. Time to go and trade punches with Jaune."
"But!.." Ruby tried to argue.
"Look, sorry-not-sorry, sis." Yang replied, "Oz did say we need to work on Jaune's hand-to-hand skills, and just because I'm a little hot in the yang right now, doesn't mean we can't kill two lady - birds with one stone."
Weiss scoffed while Ruby just hung her head and sighed, "FFFIIINNNEEEE. But no hugging."
"Or you get a hug, too." Yang voiced.
"Assuming I'd have the courage to..." Ruby voiced.
"Worst case scenario, I'll just throw you at him."
Weiss looked at her curiously, "You're serious, aren't you?"
"Never been more serious..." Yang voiced as she walked out the door.
* * *
"Alright," Yang said to Jaune, as the two lifted their fists, "hit me, but like... 10% of last time... or like 10% of that..."
"1%." Jaune stated.
"Yeah, try that." Yang replied. Jaune put barely any effort into it and hit Yang. "Yeah, like that." she said, and tapped him back. The two started going back and forth until Yang stepped back, lifting her hands. "Alright, now you're getting the feel for it. Remember, no two punches are the same. Every part of the body is different, and every way you punch hits differently." She then paused, "I've seen you already do this with Grimm. I'm going to teach you how each punch works, and when you use it." She paused, and looked distant for a moment, "Shit, is this what it was like for dad to teach me?"
"Hm?" Jaune asked.
"Oh, yeah, I kind of," she muttered, "have a tendancy to blow my top."
"Well, it works." Jaune stated, and Yang stepped forward, the two trading play punches again.
"Yeah, but what if it doesn't?" Yang asked, "I mean, what if I blow my top... and miss?"
"You just need to control your anger." Jaune stated, and reached back, making it as obvious as possible that this was a real punch. Possibly the realest punch he had ever thrown. Yang deeked to the right as Jaune's right fist flew past her hair, the shock from it visible as it traveled over the patio. "And learn when to let it go."
"What, you angry, bro?" Yang asked him, and he smiled at her.
"Don't bro me if you don't know me, ho'." he added, as the two went back to trading blows, though this time Yang was a bit more engaged. "Break." he stated, and Yang stepped back, angrily looking away. "You're pissed." he stated.
"No, I'm not!" she shouted, and then realized how foolish it was to shout about not being angry.
"Nothing wrong with anger." Jaune stated.
"What do you know about anger?!" she angrily asked him. She took a step forward and Jaune took a step away.
"I have seven sisters!" Jaune shouted, though doing his best to temper his shout, "From a... semi... traditional household!"
"What does that mean?!" Yang asked him.
* * *
Ruby nervously looked out the door to the patio, and almost stepped out when Qrow put his hand on her shoulder. "But?.." Ruby nervously said, and pointed at Yang.
"This is EXACTLY what she needs to hear." Qrow said to her, "I don't know what Tai said to her... but... scratch that, I DO know what he said to her; he wants her to be a coward. But Yang's not Tai. Tai is a mama bird making sure the rest of us idiots didn't hurt ourself, but Yang is a fire cracker waiting to go off. She doesn't need to be told to not go off, she needs to learn when."
* * *
"That means," Jaune continued, "they were allowed to hit me, but I wasn't allowed to hit them. Because we're all modern and progressive, but you know what?, that doesn't work on the farm. The strongest guy gets the most heavy lifting. Every day I used to watch my sisters get away with things I couldn't even dream of, and I couldn't do a damn thing about it! If I complained!.." Jaune said, and once again telegraphed his punch. This time it was angled down. Yang used her left forearm to brace against it and leapt off the ground, spining over it to avoid the shockwave, "It was just, OH, JAUNE, WHY CAN'T YOU GET ALONG WITH YOUR SISTERS?!"
Yang landed a few feet away, and the two stood, huffing at each other. "Shit, man, that's tough."
"No shit!" Jaune replied, and then breathed in deep, calming himself, quieting himself, "but you know what I do with that anger?" he asked, and Yang looked at him expectantly, "I channel it into whatever I do. Whenever I lift something heavy, swing my sword, draw my bow, I channel my anger into it."
"So?," Yang asked, "You're like always pissed off?"
"Yes?.." Jaune asked, "No?.."
"At your sisters?" she asked.
"Y... No..." Jaune voiced.
"Then what?" Yang asked him.
"Myself." Jaune nearly spat, and leaned forward, looking down.
"Chill, dude." Yang said to him, and he looked up at her.
"Chill, dude?" Jaune asked. "You guys... accepted me..."
"Wha?.." Yang tried to asked.
"What?" Jaune asked, "Why, how?" he then leaned forward to breathe for a minute before standing back up again, "Do you know what it meant that you guys accepted me?"
"Friendship and babeship, and whatnot?"
"Well?.." Jaune asked, "Yes... but... alright, you said you spent your time taking care of Ruby, right?" Yang nodded in reply, "Alright, how about this, think about Beacon... the Emerald Forest... everything after... but... from Ruby?.."
Yang breathed in deep to calm herself down and shut her eyes; the images flashed in front of her eyes. Ruby watching her do everything she did. Yang then opened her eyes again.
"I was always behind," Jaune stated, "but I was tied to everyone else, and that meant if I fell behind, everyone else might FALL!"
"You know we don't think of you like that." Yang tried to reassure him..
"I... know..." Jaune voiced, "But you know what I'm afraid of the most?" Yang shrugged her shoulders, "Failing you, all of you. You guys are so amazing, and spectacular, and know what you want to do with your life... and I'm..." he trailed off.
"Do you think my life is perfect?" Yang asked.
"Far from it." Jaune stated.
"Huh?" she asked.
"I can see how much anger you have for yourself, and how that anger disappoints you and makes you angrier. I know how fragile you are, maybe better than you know yourself."
"But you... said... I was your strength." Yang voiced.
"I might be new to this friends thing, but isn't that how it works?" Jaune asked. "We help hold each other up?"
"Shit?.." Yang asked, and paused for breath, "Don't take this the wrong way, guy, but for some reason I just want to punch you even more." She smiled as she adopted a ready stance. A smiling Jaune punched his gauntlets together again and adopted one of his own.
"I feel the exact same way."
* * *
"Aw, man," Qrow voiced, "it brings a tear to your eye."
"I can think of no comment for that." Weiss said, and the crowd that had gathered inside the house started to disperse.

If it isn't to much I would like to kindly request a scenario for you to write out. It would involve the OT3 of YangxJaunexRuby but purely be Qrow giving Tai shit about how karma has caught up with him. (in good humor of course) love your writing especially rosebud can't wait for the next part
Qrow:*opens door* We’re back!
Tai:Qrow!? What are you-
Qrow:We needed a safe place to regroup and plan out our next move. This is the safest place I could think of.
Tai:My house!?
Qrow:No one comes here. I thought you’d like to finally have some company. Especially your kids.
Tai:Don’t try to pull that card. Of course I’m happy they’re back. But one of them only left because you encouraged the other to leave!
Qrow:*sinks into the couch*.....Can we do this later?
Tai:Are...are you okay?
Qrow:No...I am very, very spent. I’ve bitten off more than I can chew this time. Watching over the kids, all of them, it’s difficult. Especially recently.
Tai:Are they okay? They aren’t hurt are they!?
Qrow:They are fine it’s just....too much to deal with sometimes. Yang and Ruby are outside if you want to see them but-
Tai:*dashes outside*
Qrow:Okay fine, I was gonna prep you but leave before I finish.
Tai:Girls!
Ruby and Yang:Dad!!! *hugs him*
Tai:Are you both okay? Nothing broken!?
Yang:Come on dad. This is us we’re talking about. We don’t get broken, we break other things.
Tai:I’m not sure how I feel about that.
Ruby:Feel awesome about it! We’re helping kick bad guy butt!
Tai:You, seem highly spirited. The way your uncle came in made it sound like you’ve suffered a crushing defeat.
Yang:I mean we’ve taken a few losses but recently we’re on a roll.
Ruby:Yeah. We just thought it best to take a breather with everyone and regroup.
Tai:Huh, that’s it? So why did he mention there being a lot to deal with?
.....
Ruby:Oh! *rubs head* Probably because we all basically..... I mean.....we sort of....
Yang:Basically everyone ended up in a relationship. The young love is driving him up all.
Tai:Wait, all of you!? *looks at Ruby*
Ruby:I’m saving the world dad. A boy is child’s play.
Yang:Yeah lighten up a bit. It’s not I’m not there if things go bad.
Tai:You’re dating too?
Yang:Yep! *smiles*
Tai:I...I guess I should passing judgment after I meet them. So Ruby, who’s brave enough to date you with your sister around?
Ruby:Jaune!
Jaune:*carrying bags* Yeah?
Ruby:Get over here and meet my dad dork!
Jaune:*drops bags and walks over* R...Right! Hello Mr.Xiao Long. It’s nice to meet you finally. I’ve heard good things. *extends hand*
Tai:*shakes hand* Hey I’ve seen you during the tournament. Also I remember Ruby writing about you several times when she first left.
Ruby:*red* Dad....
Jaune:Really? That’s good, and also a bit embarrassing; the tournament part that is. Not really my finer moments.
Tai:Hehe I like this guy. You look like you got grit.
Jaune:Thank you sir.
Tai:Please, Tai is fine. Alright Yang, where’s the guy that managed to sweep you off your feet.
Yang:Y....you already met em.
Tai:What?
Yang:Yeah. *links arm with Jaune* right here.
Ruby:*links other arm with a grin* we’re sharing him.
Jaune:*nervous*hehehehehe
Tai:...... inhales......
*walks inside*
Tai:*closes door*........
Qrow:So how does it feel? Being on the other side of that perspective? It’s funny because I’ve told myself before that tall and blonde out there reminds me of you. I just didn’t know how much. Are you tired now too?
Tai:I am conflicted about this.
Qrow:Shouldn’t be. You made this reality possible. You wanted to have your cake and date multiple teammates and now it’s coming back full circle.
Tai:*sits down* This is a prank right? They wouldn’t actually agree to this right?
Qrow:Did Raven and Summer agree you share you.
Tai:......This is your bad lucks doing.
Qrow:No, this is history finally coming back to say hello. Look on the bright side. I’m pretty sure their future kids will be gorgeous. Also he’s a good kid. That part is similar too.
Tai:*looks out window*
Ruby and Yang:*comforting Jaune*
Qrow:Your move. You can help them avoid a lot of similar pitfalls. This couldn’t be a fuller proof relationship with all your experience. What did Oobleck use to say about repeating history. I bet Yang would look amazing in bandit clothes.
Tai:*kicks open door* Welcome to the family!
Yang and Ruby:Yay!!!!
Jaune:*smiles*
Qrow:Finally, not my problem anymore. *passes out*

[1] Hi! I hope you don't mind, but can I ask a sorta uncomfortable question? I wanna ship cloqwork because I like their character dynamic, but at the same time I get uncomfortable because when Qrow enrolled at Beacon (at "the right age," as specified by Raven) he would've been 17 - legally not an adult. Ozpin would've had a disproportionate amount of power over him, both as a legal adult and as his teacher.

Hi, Anon!
I apologize in advance that this response is probably going to be all over the place. I’ve got a lot of thoughts about this and very little ability right now to put them into a cohesive order. So we’re just chucking it all out lol.
First, there’s absolutely no need to apologize for being on anon. That’s what it’s there for! I think tumblr has developed a view of the anonymous option that, on the whole, isn’t particularly useful. In our efforts to call out those who are sending flames/hate under the comfort of anonymity (which you obviously are not), there’s no need for anyone to “prove” themselves by going off of it. You’re using anon because you (justifiably) fear how the fandom might react to these questions. I often use anon because I abandoned my “main” account years ago and dislike sending messages from it. There’s a huge range of reasons why someone might want to be on anon and ultimately it doesn’t matter why we use the tool that’s been provided to us. It’s there, so never feel bad about going anon for any reason :)
Onto the ozqrow! Or yes, onto the cloqwork. I learned “ozqrow” first so it’s pretty embedded in my head, but I agree that “cloqwork” is the more sophisticated of the two ;) Anyway, yes. There are potentially ways that we can view the relationship as unhealthy… with the key word there being potentially. AKA, as headcanons. No, Qrow wouldn’t have been an adult when he entered Beacon, but who’s to say a relationship began then? Some fans might like to imagine that despite the real world issues attached. Others—like you and me—would not. The important thing is that we both have the space to achieve whatever interpretation of the relationship we please. Far as I can tell, Qrow is 37 at the youngest. Four years at Beacon (17-20), 15 years after Summer’s death (35), and then roughly 2 years of in-canon present time (37). Realistically, he’s probably older than that. Based on the relationship dynamics it seems that Tai didn’t date Summer until he broke up with Raven and given Yang’s age compared to Ruby’s, that adds two years. So Qrow is probably around 39. Even that’s assuming that Raven had Yang right after Beacon. If she didn’t we could push the timeline another year or two, putting Qrow in his early 40’s. I lay all this out to demonstrate that… that’s a lot of time. How old “should” Qrow be before he enters a relationship with someone? Obviously that answer differs from individual to individual, but let’s say for the sake of argument that he should be at least 25. That puts him 5 years out of Beacon, potentially older than when Raven had Yang, and roughly 6 years older than most of our main ships right now (Blake/Yang, Jaune/Pyrrha, Ren/Nora etc.) where fans argue very strongly that at 19 they’re already adults and are able to make informed decisions, be it about relationships or world-shattering secrets. So we’re already holding Qrow to stricter standards than other characters and that still leaves roughly 15 years for him and Ozpin to start something, all of which is time that takes place outside of the Teacher/Student dynamic. It’s a choice to prioritize “But he was his headmaster for 4 years” over “But they were equals for 2 decades.”
Now granted, there’s more to this relationship than just Qrow’s own age. I’ve also seen people bring up the age gap and, more recently, Ozpin’s “manipulation” of Qrow. In regards to the former, we simply have to acknowledge that Ozpin is screwed in that regard. Everyone is younger than him. Almost the entire cast. At some point nearly everyone we meet will have, at some point, been a child while Ozpin is an adult simply by virtue of Ozpin being a reincarnating wizard who has already lived at least a thousand years. The only exceptions to this are Salem, the Gods, or Jinn, all of which are more “problematic” partners to my mind. Which again, isn’t to say no one can ship them together, just that it seems ridiculous to me that—if we’re really going to “justify” an in-canon relationship—we’d prioritize “Salem and Ozpin are the same age that’s so much healthier!” over “Salem abused Ozpin, killed their kids, and has hunted him for years on end. That’s... kind of not great!” It’s a matter of what parts of each relationship we choose to emphasize. And ozqrow is far from the only ship to grapple with this. In the witcher fandom I adore both Geralt/Jaskier and Geralt/Regis. Both of those ships have “issues” in regards to age. Is Jaskier not allowed to be with Geralt because he’s in his 30s and Geralt is in his 80s? Is Geralt not allowed to be with Regis because he’s in his 80s and Regis is in his 400s? When we talk about fantasy series we’re talking about species/races/abilities that are, obviously, fantastic. They don’t exist. Which means that real world concerns can’t perfectly map onto these scenarios. The question is not “Is a 1,000 year age gap problematic?” but rather “Are these both consenting adults who are in a position to make their own informed, romantic decisions?” To which we answer for ozqrow: yes. Unless we specifically imagine that the relationship began when Qrow was just a student but again, that’s purely headcanon. Emphasizing that non-canonical imagining of how a relationship might have started over the canonical years of working together as equal peers makes no more sense than going, “Yeah but there was a time when Regis was an adult and Geralt was just a kid, so if they’d met then it would have been super unhealthy so you shouldn’t ship them :/” They didn’t meet when Geralt was a kid. In the same way, Ozpin and Qrow didn’t start a relationship when Qrow was a kid for the simple reason that they have no canonical romance at all. That puts the power entirely in the viewers’ hands to imagine when/how such a relationship occurs.
Which leaves us with second issue mentioned: power dynamics and Ozpin’s “manipulation.” Take everything said above and apply it to this point too. That power dynamic only exists if we imagine a relationship while they’re headmaster and student. Which you can! Plenty of people want to write/read about such “problematic” stuff. That’s partly what fandom is for. But again, if that’s not your cup of tea there’s no reason to prioritize those 4 years over the 20 years we get later. I have heard some people say that the relationship is indefinitely imbalanced because of Ozpin’s age/power/leadership/whatever but… that simply makes no sense to me. Or rather, it seems hypocritical. Does that mean it’s “problematic” for Weiss to be with Ruby? After all, Ruby is the leader of their team and calls all the shots. What if Weiss feels like she can’t say no to her?? It’s terribly unhealthy. Does that mean Weiss can’t be with Blake? She was racist, after all, and comes from such a place of privilege. I’m not sure Blake is educated enough to hold her own with Weiss. Does this mean Blake can’t be with Yang? Blake comes from a very rich and powerful family whereas Yang is just a country girl… what if Blake uses that power against her somehow? Does that mean that Nora can’t be with Ruby? Or again, Weiss with Ruby? I mean, Nora is homeless and Weiss has been cut off from the Schnee line, so they might stay in a relationship purely out of fear of being abandoned--super unhealthy. These are all revised versions of things I’ve heard applied to ozqrow: Qrow shouldn’t be with Ozpin because Ozpin is his leader (Ruby/Weiss), because Qrow grew up in an “uneducated” tribe whereas Ozpin is clearly so sophisticated (Blake/Weiss), because Ozpin has power and connections that Qrow could never match (Blake/Yang), because Ozpin is tied to the life Qrow has built and breaking up supposedly threatens that. Which means he can’t ever break up. Which means Qrow is trapped. Which means it’s unhealthy (Nora/Ruby or Ruby/Weiss). They’re all warped, assumption based arguments that are only taken seriously when they’re applied to a ship that people are already inclined to dislike. The takeaway is that every relationship has power dynamics and every relationship has the potential to be “problematic.” Literally everyone. Give me any two people and I can spin some yarn about how one holds too much power over the other for the relationship to be healthy. Which isn’t to say that real power dynamics don’t exist that should be avoided (like a teacher/student relationship as you point out), only that fans are inclined to extend that past the point of logic in an effort demonize ships they don’t like. Someone having trauma in their past (which, again, is everyone at this point in the series) is not the same “power dynamic” as an adult grooming a child (which, again again, Ozpin didn’t do). So when we’re left with the acknowledgement that any relationship has the potential to be unhealthy, we have to ask… is it? And the answer is no. As you say, “We all know that canonically Ozpin ISN’T that kind of person.” That’s what trumps every headcanon and negative assumption. I could headcanon/assume that a Weiss/Blake relationship would be horrific because Weiss would be a racist ass to Blake and Blake would only stay with her because she’s determined not to “run away” from something again… but we don’t see evidence for that on screen and it literally never happens. In the same way, some fans like to headcannon/assume that a Qrow/Ozpin relationship would be horrific because Ozpin would use his power over Qrow in various ways… but we don’t see evidence for that on screen and it literally doesn’t happen.
If anything, post-Volume 6 I’d say there’s more of a potential problem with Qrow being with Ozpin. Meaning yes, as you point out Qrow has a lot of stuff in his past that makes him potentially vulnerable—toxic family environment, drinking problem, etc.—but we learn irrevocably in Volume 6 that so does Ozpin. He was manipulated by the Gods into accepting this “impossible” task. He was in an abusive relationship with Salem and, quite literally, didn’t survive it. He’s lived a thousand years of unimaginable trauma. He arguably was also an alcoholic at one point given the drinking we saw in Jinn’s flashback. He’s been betrayed time and time again by his allies… of which Qrow is a part. Arguably Ozpin has even more vulnerabilities than Qrow but both characters are in a position to hurt one another with those vulnerabilities: Ozpin could play on Qrow’s desire for family and Qrow could play on Ozpin’s need for support. That “could” is, again, important because it’s mostly headcanon speculation that chooses to see the relationship as inevitably negative… with the exception that canonically Qrow is the only one who we see using these vulnerabilities against Ozpin. The fandom likes to assume that Ozpin “manipulated” Qrow all these years but we simply never see that happening. In true RWBY fashion, RT gave Qrow a very damning sounding line—I gave up my life for you—and then let the fandom assume really negative connotations. In reality though what that line translated to was, “You trusted me despite the fact that I entered your school to learn how to kill you and your allies, then taught me how to be a better person and gave me a purpose in life: to help others, even if I’ve now learned I can’t fix it all in one lifetime.” Like yeah, what kind of horrible “manipulation”?? Ozpin’s supposed power over Qrow has only helped and benefited Qrow, despite how Volume 6 tried to paint that relationship as suddenly negative. What is said doesn’t align with what we’ve seen. In contrast, we do see Qrow using Ozpin’s vulnerabilities against him. He does betray him. He does punch him into a tree. He does help perpetuate those same lies to Ironwood. He does absolve Ruby without offering the same to Ozpin. He does then plant the seed—with absolutely no evidence—that he had a hand in Summer’s death. To be frank, Qrow has treated Ozpin like shit lately and it’s one of the (many) reasons why I hate Volume 6 and 7. Ozpin is coded as the perpetrator, but we never see him taking advantage of Qrow. Meanwhile, Qrow is coded as the victim, but we do see him taking advantage of Ozpin’s vulnerability. One character has helped the other flourish, the other has abandoned him in his greatest time of need. Right now I’d argue that the in-canon ship potential is “problematic” due to Qrow… but that doesn’t mean any of that has to impact fandom shipping. For me personally, I prefer to keep to Volume 1-5 material or AUs up until Qrow (hopefully) apologizes for his actions. Then I might feel inclined to write canon-based ozqrow content for Volume 8, or whenever we re-establish that respect (with AU elements involving giving Ozpin his own body. The Oscar situation is a whole other thing I’m not going to delve into here. Suffice to say, I’m considering Qrow and Ozpin as separate people right now). But even if they never make up, even if Qrow, or Ozpin, or both of them end up being completely toxic for one another, that doesn’t stop anyone from imagining something better for them in fandom. Fandom is transformative for a reason.
All of which isn’t to say that people have to like the ship (obviously) only that in the same vein it means that no one has to justify liking the ship either. Again, for me personally, I usually need some in-canon, healthy dynamic to work with in order to enjoy a ship. It’s why I love ozqrow because we did see that for 5 volumes and may indeed see it again. In contrast, it’s why I don’t love pairings like Yen/Geralt or Bakugo/Izuku because I don’t feel like I have a healthy foundation to work from and, for me, a healthy foundation is usually necessary (with some exceptions like my childhood love of Erik/Christine). But all those are preferences. They don’t—and shouldn’t—dictate anyone else’s enjoyment. Which is the problem when people don’t just assume that ozqrow is inherently unhealthy (which I hope I’ve somewhat helped to disprove here) but likewise assume that that’s necessary for anyone else to ship them. For you that potential coding of teacher/student and power dynamics might outweigh otherwise liking their dynamic and that’s fine! That’s a preference! But a preference doesn’t give anyone the right to throw shade at others for enjoying something different.
Which finally brings me back to the hypocrisy in all this. Ozqrow (and Blake/Yang) are the only ships I’ve come across in this fandom where the fans have to continually “prove” why their ships are valid. Not as potentially canonical relationships, but just as fandom-based ships. Just as fictional preferences we enjoy as a hobby. It says something about the fandom’s bias that we can watch Ilia, on screen, be one of the bad guys, kidnap Blake, try to murder her parents, try to ship her off to her abuser… and despite all this the fandom went, “Oh yeah. I could see them together.” But Ozpin and Qrow, who have supported one another for the vast majority of the series, suddenly need to provide receipts for how healthy their relationship is and if you don’t do a good enough job proving that, it’s cancelled. That’s messed up. None of these ships are “bad.” Ilia/Blake shippers should go wild with that potential! It’s just an issue of comparison and applying different, rigged standards to certain ships. This is a fandom where people ship the heroes with the likes of Cinder, Roman, Raven, Ilia, Salem, Tyrian… tons of killers and would-be killers, characters who have done objectively horrifying things. But it’s when two loving adult men might get together that it’s suddenly too “problematic”? That says more about that bias than it does the ship. For you, anon, if I’ve failed to alleviate those concerns and that coding means ozqrow isn’t really your thing? Great! You can drop the ship, involve yourself only in AUs, or anything in between. That’s how fandom should work. The problem lies not in asking polite questions about how we might interpret a relationship in canon (which as said in the original reblog I greatly enjoy doing!) but rather in some fans’ tendency to demand a moral standard from a ship that none other is held to and then when fans inevitably fail to meet that standard, they’re criticized for daring to like the ship in the first place. Ultimately whether you end up shipping/liking ozqrow is up to you—which is precisely where the power should be. In your hands, not the hands of someone on tumblr trying to make others feel guilty.
