Been feeling so restless lately but tbh I think I'm just terrified of the new school year and worried about the pressure potentially throwing me right into the deep end mentally...

I had a large number of very difficult weeks last year 🥲 hopefully they won't be as severe this year because I have someone I can go to with things related to accommodations - and then she just arranges them for me. She just does... and I won't have to overshare with every teacher about why I can't do [blank]....

Hopefully I will feel less alienated? I spent a lot of time last year going "how do I explain what happened... there are no words and I don't want to share this".

And then having to argue and try to convince them I need more help/time/etc just hurts so much especially since it makes me feel powerless which is a trigger in itself and will exaggerate itself (My English teacher interrogating and ridiculing me.... genuinely impacted my state for the rest of the school year)

But even with her, it's not gonna be smooth sailing and it's quite scary to think about how dark my headspace gets when I start to spiral and how hard it is to get out of that

#tbh rn i could cry with relief bc of the woman arranging accommodations i swear #it's so nice #i dont expect magic lol i just know if i need some extra time or help i can just get it <3 #if i need to do a debate or a presentation i understand i just gotta do the thing #but at least i can influence the circumstances/setting enough for it to be bearable #+ having the ability to influence the situation also makes me feel so much better

he can't explain the way his heart sinks at your reaction. his groans internally, stopping his quick footsteps before turning to face you.

he sighs, "just go finish up whatever the fuck you're doing in that culinary class."

he waves you away dismissively, stuffing his hands in his pockets before trying to make a depressing getaway.

you let out a small breath. "don't be jealous, rin."

he gets taken aback by your sudden remark.

he also lets out a little huff before turning around once more to reach your figure.

"was not jealous, excuse you." he grumbles, leaning his head into your shoulder.

ATSUMU shouldn't let his pettiness get the best of him. but he can't help but grumble every five fucking seconds because you're busy tending to kita and helping him with his stupid "captain duties".

the way you scuttle around the court, kita noticeably beside you, carrying heavy bottles for you and holding your clipboard.

he lets out an exasperated sigh, which osamu and suna finally acknowledge.

"could ya shut the fuck up?" osamu groans, slapping his brother's empty fucking skull.

suna snorts, recording the incident. "why so sappy, atsumu?"

the blonde only grumbles, talking his shit like usual and telling the annoying duo to "fuck off" and to "leave him the fuck alone".

they snort uncontrollably, opting to skip away from the ticking time bomb beside them.

atsumu was not getting any better. when he witnesses kita lay a hand on your shoulder, he sees red.

"kita!" he shouts from across the court, almost speeding to your side.

you look confused, moving your figure to face him. "'tsum? you oka-"

he grabs kita by the collar of his jersey, getting all up in his face. you huff exasperatedly, slapping your clipboard onto the dumb blonde's head which causes him to release kita who is standing there with a blank gaze.

"kita, you alright?" you ask, examining him, he nods at you before you before turning to atsumu with a darkened glare.

you drag your boyfriend away, lecturing him the whole time.

pinching the bridge of your nose, you look at him disappointedly. "did you have to harass your fucking captain like that?"

he shrugs. "he touched ma girl. didn't like that."

your eyes widen, not with disbelief but more with rage. "are fuck fucking stupid? there was a god damn spiderweb on my shoulder."

now his eyes widened, turning red in embarrassment. he mumbles a low apology, turning away from your burning glare.

"'tsum, for a smart setter, you're stupid." you groan, massaging your temple. "don't be jealous, alright? i'm all yours even when you're just plain annoying."

he lets out a little snort, it's laced with a bit of guilt, but you don't have to know that. he grabs your hand, pressing a kiss to your palm while mumbling more apologies for his stupid behavior.

OSAMU watches intently as you chat away with his airhead of a brother.

he notices the things you do not. he sees the sneaky touches that atsumu does, like rubbing off a couple crumbs at the corner of your lip. or the way he leans into you slightly when you say something funny.

he notices it all, and it's rubbing him in the wrong direction.

he's in the kitchen, watching it all go down in the living room as his patience thins more and more.

he's gripping his glass of water so hard he doesn't notice the way his knuckles turn white. yet, he notices the way atsumu moves a stray hair out of your face as your eyes never leave the tv.

he loses it.

"atsumu, get yer fuckin' hands off of y/n if ya still wanna see the sun tomorrow." he growls.

atsumu's eyes widen, immediately getting up to hide behind you. "y/n, yer man's tryna kill me! save ma ass!"

"okay, princess, that's enough." you shove him off.

getting up to cool your grandpa of a boyfriend down. you grab his arm as he's still visibly fuming over the encounter.

"what's with you, 'samu?" you ask, opening the door to his room before shutting it quietly.

he struts up to your group confidently, looming over your figure and the setter from karasuno.

the raven-head finally bids you goodbye, walking in a fast pace back to his team.

you roll your eyes, walking away from his tall figure. he only follows you around like a lost puppy, whining every few minutes.

KENMA taps away on his phone, eager to beat the level he's been struggling on for days. his eyes don't make their way to you, so he doesn't realize the event happening before him.

kenma finally looks up, eyes narrowing at the sight.

kuroo looks behind him for a short moment, before shifting his attention back onto you. "just helping y/n with chemistry."

kenma's eyesbrows raise hesitantly, rolling his eyes before playing his game.

he's quickly distracted by the series of laughs and giggles, he wasn't exactly annoyed at the laughter alone.. he was annoyed that you and his best friend are enjoying each other's company a little too much.

It takes a matter of seconds for you to give up any hope of getting up. Suddenly met with a cold chill, you pull your blanket closer to your chin.

Glad that he’s returning, you shut your phone off and set it on your chest as you close your eyes.

Soon enough, Kai returns, bottle of water and medicine in hand along with his laptop cradled in his other arm. He sets it at the foot of the bed so that he can crack the bottle open.

“Okay, can you sit up for me?” he questions, once again having a seat at the edge of your bed.

You nod, shifting until you’re upright. Kai patiently waits for you to get comfortable, gently dumping two pills into your hands before giving you the bottle of water. “I know your throat hurts, but this will help lighten the nastiness up a little bit.”

You down the pills with a gulp of water, cringing at the feeling of the pills sliding down your sore throat.

“I know it hurts, babe, but it’ll help. Make sure you keep drinking water, too. You need to stay hydrated.”

You nod, sighing through your stuffy nose. Kai climbs into bed next to you, reaching for the laptop. You open your phone again.

You: don’t get close! I don’t want you to get sick too

Rather than sending it to him, you just turn the screen towards him so that he can read it.

“Nah, I’m staying,” he replies. “I know it sucks to be alone when you’re sick. Besides, we haven’t had a whole lot of time together lately anyway. Let’s watch something, yeah?”

You nod, understanding by the tone of his voice that his mind won’t be changed.

“Great. So, what do you want to watch?”

You type your answer out, followed by:

But you get to pick the next one!!

“Fine,” he replies with a chuckle. “Let me go check your tea first, though!”

A hint of a smile appears on your lips as you watch him leave. How did you end up so lucky?

While you wait for your boyfriend to return, you take another sip of water. The pain in your throat screeches in retaliation, though. Yeah, you should probably wait for the tea. Sensei Wu’s special tea always managed to help a little bit.

Kai returns a few minutes later, your cup of tea in hand. He settles in next to you, handing you the mug.

You sigh gratefully, taking a sip. The hot water does wonders to soothe your throat.

“That’s better,” you mumble, leaning your head on Kai’s shoulder. “Thank you.”

“Anything for you,” he replies, shooting you his adorably dumb smile. You can’t help but smile too, watching as he sets up the show and leans back.

For a while, you simply lean against him, content that he’s staying with you for the time being. The warmth radiating from him wards the chilliness away, allowing you to flutter in and out of sleep as you rest.

After your show ends, you feel Kai stirring from his spot beside you. You turn to him, watching as he starts to untangle himself from the sheets.

You find yourself upset that he’s leaving, setting your mug to the side as you latch onto his arm.

“Babe,” he coos, chuckling as he glances back down at you with those gorgeous amber eyes. “I’ll be right back, don’t worry.”

“But I want you to stay...” you mumble shyly, not letting go.

“It’ll be super quick. I’m just going to go grab a snack. And I can refill your mug, too!”

You sigh, releasing his arm slightly. “Okay...thank you.”

Kai presses a kiss to your forehead before climbing out of bed, a rush of cold air replacing his warmth. You reach over to your laptop so you can pause the video before laying your head back on your pillow.

A few minutes pass, and you find yourself missing Kai. Why are you feeling so clingy today? Normally, you’re not like this, but for some reason, you just want to hide with him until you feel better.

You grab your phone, sending him another text:

kaiiiiiii

where'd you go??

To your dismay, Kai doesn’t answer for a few minutes. Stars, why are you feeling so sensitive today? Is it just because being sick makes you feel vulnerable?

Thankfully, Kai responds shortly after:

im otw, sorry...got caught up talking to sensei

He returns a few seconds later, now with snacks and a refilled mug of tea. “Sorry, Sensei was asking me a few questions. He’s letting me take the day off so I can take care of you.”

“Good,” you croak, shifting around as he settles back in beside you. “I just...need you right now.”

Kai smiles softly, pulling you against his chest as the two of you lean back. “You know...I hate that you’re sick, but at the same time...I kind of like this side of you.”

“I don’t, but I can’t help it. When I get better, it’s straight back to the ass kicking. Yours included.”

“I wouldn’t expect anything less,” Kai jokes.

You sigh, too tired to return the banter. “Thank you for staying, Kai.”

“Anything for you, babe. Get some rest.”

With that, your eyelids grow heavy as you snuggle up to him, eventually letting yourself sleep for the day.

Reader is a menance (villain arc goes brrr) but at some point (probably on the kraang invasion) they helped the turtles noticing their feelings for Leo and kinda confess or sum?

A/N: I adore this concept more than you can possibly know. As soon as this chapter is posted, I will be reading up everything you have on it. It just sounds so fun!(I didn't read it b4 hand cause I didn't want to accidently copy smth. Hope it still fits lol) Kinda took the post Kraang part and ran with it tbh. Also, in my defense, I have like 5 Leo WIPs rn, I just haven't gotten around to finishing them. But this seemed like the best 1st Leo post I could ever make, so it got major priority. And thanks for referring to me as pretty person! It made me so happy and I almost didn't want to answer this 'cause I just liked to re-read this ask a lot. I'm sorry it's so bad, I was really tired and wanted to get something out quick. Any criticism is welcome, constructive or not. This is supposed to be a gender neutral reader, so if I screwed up somewhere, please tell me.

Summary: It's two weeks after the Kraang invasion, and you haven't seen Leo since.

I stare down at the broken city, disappointed with the destruction the Kraang brought with them. Sure, I wasn’t exactly what could be called a stand-up citizen, but this was my home too. It had been two weeks since the Kraang invasion, two weeks since I had fought alongside the people I had known as enemies, two weeks since I had last seen them alive. After the Kraang ship exploded and the portal closed, I hadn’t seen any of the turtles or their friends. Not that I’m worried of course. They were all resilient, able to survive everything thrown at them thus far. Even if they weren’t okay, I was a villain and they were heroes. Something happening to them would just be a relief to the constant thorn in my side they insist on being. I couldn’t start caring about them, not now. No matter how much I was worried.

I turned around, facing away from the broken city. Repairs had started, but it would take a long time. People were missing, buildings had fallen, and morale had gone down. After all, an alien invasion wasn’t something even New York could instantly bounce back from. We would heal, but it would take months, even years. I start to head back to my home, jumping across the rooftops when I can and using the fire escapes on others. It was calming, the wind brushing against my face as I ran. I avoid the remaining rubble and the broken glass littering the rooftops, not wanting to slice open my legs.

I take a running jump, feeling myself being suspended in the air before gravity takes hold once more. Shifting my weight, I crouch down as I land, trying to lessen the impact on my still bruised legs. I use the momentum from the landing to shoot myself forwards, laughing as I feel the wind against my face. I get ready to make the next jump, my arms swinging backwards to help gain the right momentum, but I falter when I hear a voice in the distance. Leo’s voice. Slowing down, my arms sticking out to the sides as I try to not fall, my head snaps over to where I heard his voice. I knew I shouldn’t care, why did it matter that I heard him? We were enemies, I hated him, and he hated me. Right? I ignore my screaming brain, walking forwards and peering over the edge of the roof.

There they were, the four turtles and their human friends. Gross. I let out a grimace, watching as they waited in the alley, 3 pizza boxes in the orange ones arms. I continue to scan over them out of curiosity, trying to find Leo. His brothers were all there, having minimal damage done to them(Except the red one, but I already figured his shell wasn’t the only thing damaged the last I saw him.) I kept seeing basic glances of Leo, but the red one was blocking my view. I huff in frustration, moving along the edge of the roof to try and see him better. I could hear him just fine, but I wanted to see him.

I jump to a slightly lower building, keeping in the shadows so they don’t notice me. I had no idea why I cared so much, but I felt like I needed to see Leo. I wanted to make sure he was safe too. I duck down farther behind the ledge of the rooftop, the entrance to Run Of The Mill opening as someone stepped out. A very goat-like purple yōkai, stepped out. I groan, grimacing as I look at Baron Draxum. I let out a huff of air, frustrated. I give up on staying behind to check on Leo. I heard his loud voice, so he was probably fine.

I keep quiet as I climb up a building, leaping across the residential and commercial buildings. If I really wanted to, I could just cause chaos in a few weeks to make sure they all showed up. But right now? Right now I just wanted to sleep. I jump onto a building with a wider roof, looking across the skyline. The broken city still managed to be beautiful, the people on the ground scurrying to be wherever they were needed. I hear a small thud behind me, my ears picking up the familiar pattering of footsteps. I continued to scan the horizon, pretending I was oblivious to the figure behind me. I grip my knife and shift my weight slightly, waiting until the perpetrator was in range. Once I could hear the breath of the person, I turned around, sweeping their legs from under them and holding a knife to their throat.

The attacker lets out a small yelp and a groan as they hit the ground, a shaky smile on their green face as they look up at me. It was Leo. I quickly get off of him, pulling him up with me as I put my knife back into its sheath on my side. I take in his appearance, my mouth pressing into a tight line as I notice his bandages. His carapace was completely wrapped up, as well as most of his platron. Different bandage wraps were scattered all over him, covering most of his scaly skin from sight.

“What happened to you?” I ask, a small frown on my face. Leo’s smile never drops, pulling me into a tight hug.

“I missed you too! You know, it’s been so boring without you stirring up trouble every other day.” Leo pulls back from the hug, a hand on each of my shoulders as he shakes me lightly, mock disappointment on his features. “You disappeared before my grand finale! You didn’t even get to see how awesome I was! You are one cruel, cruel frenemy, you know that?”

I roll my eyes, batting his hands off my shoulders. “Oh please, I had more important things to do. Like, oh I don’t know, making sure Kraang minions didn’t kill a bunch of people?” I jut my hip out, looking Leo up and down again. “Seriously though, what happened after I left?”

“Aww, does someone care?” Leo teases, a smug grin on his face. My frown deepens, knowing I shouldn’t be upset he was wounded. I shouldn’t care. I should be ecstatic he got hurt, the only thing I should be upset about is that he wasn’t knocked out of commission. We were enemies, they were friends of Draxum.

I turn around, trying to ignore the hole of despair growing in my chest. He was covered in so many bandages, new scars covering his visible skin. I felt sick just looking at him. Would he have been fine if I stayed? If I didn’t rush off? I couldn’t think of it right now, not wanting to come to terms with the fact that I cared for him.

Leo grabs my arm before I can jump to the next roof, pulling me back and putting his hands back on my shoulders, keeping me in place. “Hey, what’s gotten into you? Are you okay?” His voice is soft and his eyes are full of concern. It all just makes me feel worse. “You’re usually spitting back one liners and being all sarcastic, did something happen?”

I look back at Leo, chewing on the inside of my cheek as I try to figure out how to explain what I was feeling. I sigh, pulling Leo in for a hug, being careful not to put too much pressure on any of his wounds. I assumed I did a good job, as Leo just laughed and hugged me tighter against him. “It’d just be really inconvenient if something happened to you. You can’t just leave me with your brothers, they're boring.”

Leo laughs at that, pulling away from the hug with a dopey grin on his face. “I knew you cared.”

ok part of me feels a litle baited actually because like. i feel like... im vocal abt mlm musical sprace not being a big vibe for me in the first place. so im a funny person to ask if you were looking for relief lmao. anyway here's my thesis below.

followers, if you've been with me long enough, you know that i have quite strong opinions about how this show gets treated when it comes to interpretations and fandom/fanon. mostly, this is because i literally work in theater, and it's extremely backwards in my brain personally when shows get treated more like a movie or tv show than a performance piece.

im also one of the only ppl in this fandom that ever seems to dare speak on race (not the damn character smh). and anon, buddy, kiddo, this does have to do with race, gender, and sexuality.

firstly, what i think needs to be understood about newsies, is that it is theater, which means it is meant to be mutable. there is no one way. there should never be one way. it does not exist. secondly, theater does not exist in a fandom vacuum. its live every night, conceptually. theater is a live performance art.

interpretations change- it's the nature of theater. so i think asks like these really do illuminate the difference between fans of the show's content or fans of... i guess the show's culture's content.

this is a culture content ask.

one thing i really, truly, deeply need you all to understand: from an objective, script- and staging-based perspective, proshot sprace does not exist. they do not speak. they barely see each other. race does not even volunteer to go to brooklyn. the ship originates from the 1992 movie, where they do actually interact, which is why the ship has prevailed through the 90s to today. they're from the movie, not the musical.

of course, this doesn't bash the ship- it has history, and naturally fans want to create new history when they get a new source material (the musical). it's true for like every newsie ship lowkey (but also not lowkey because all the manhattan newsies do interact and sprace literally does not but thats a different post!!), which is something i do admire about the fandom- we do a lot of our own legwork here, we invent relationships and backgrounds from one-liners that could be given to tbh any frickin newsie. i respect the 30 years we have invented ships.

however.

when a huge, publicized, consistently sold out production comes along with spot conlon as not only a woman, but a woman of color (specifically black rn!) as the leader of the most feared group on stage, there becomes something much more important than a "sprace dynamic", which does not canonically exist in the musical anyway bro. you can't miss something that isn't there imo. often the story and casting within a story comes first, and goddamn if this isn't one of those times. lillie-pearl's spot brings bravado, swagger, confidence, and intimidation that is literally....fine maybe i'm being personal but it is slash gen incredible to see in technically a period piece! a black woman in leadership with that kind of assuredness! in such a popular musical! how is that not– automatically surpassing an often obsessed-over (yes i am. hinting at something here, straight girl fans) mlm ship?

and while i'm on the topic of the over-obsessiveness of mlm musical sprace, let me talk about uksies sprace. because what's also wack abt this ask is that sprace is not a hopeless case in this production- it literally has about as much 'evidence' as the proshot imo!!!!!

i got to hop over to 2nd row brooklyn seating for act 2 so i saw once and for all really close up, right. there's a moment when race is upstage letting the newsies in/down from the stairs. spot comes down and she does, in fact, share a look with him. race gives spot a nod and she keeps moving.

and like im gonna see the show again (every day i am counting my mf blessings fr), so if i'm wrong or they don't do it every time i'll correct myself, but that's what i saw with my own dang eyes on saturday. they do acknowledge each other in uksies.

and since they do, i really like. i have to ask. what is bothersome/unpopular abt uksies sprace, other than oh idk.... its not white/white mlm with a twink/manly bf trope? why can't race still love who spot is as a character, this strong and fearless ruler of brooklyn, in uksies? because tbh josh's racer...nahhhh because. this is such a side note now but they'd be so good together oh jesus am i gonna ship uk sprace. and it's not like they're 'taking away' from a queer ship because a) you can headcanon spot as a queer girl and race being trans is consistently popular and b) newsies has ten billion gayass ships bro we've been eatin for literal decades.

anon, i'm sure you didn't mean harm by this ask. i'm sure, honestly, that a lot of fans are feeling the same way as you and weren't quite sure how to put it in words. but, i'm also not surprised you sent an ask like this on anonymous specifically.

should you feel guilty about it? i don't think guilt is the right word. but i believe you should think more about how newsies is not.....static. it does not exist in one form, and it never will. if you're feeling genuinely let down that your ship did not see the light of day and a black girlsie spot conlon got to instead, then yes, you should reevaluate that. in theater, you should always question why something impacted you the way it did- a major point of theater is to discuss and think about it when you leave! i know this because ive spent three years literally studying it, to back up my thesis credentials.

hi! no rush in answering this and I hope it all works out with your job, sending good vibes. I wanted to ask for some advice as my partner hss AFRID and (probably) anorexia. they've been refered for help for the AFRID stuff specifically and they (for very valid. and obvious reasons) don't feel comfortable opening up to drs about the other loads of eating problems they have. Now they are being monitored and freaked about abt the need to gain weight etc

Im helping them as best I can but it feels very us 2 (and our friends) vs the rest of the world plus that I feel I'm p much winging random stuff that Might help see what sticks. We are trying to find some middle ground were they can make some "progress" so they aren't coerced into something they really don't want to do by drs and so they can have a little more energy etc etc.

We are also both still living at our parents and it's all just not ideal. rn. Any advice at all would help really, is there anything I should do and anything I really shouldn't? just typing it up to someone who won't tell me to force them to get themselves admitted is already a relief tbh thank u for ur work on harm reduction <3

Hey anon! Thanks for reaching out. It can be so hard to find any information about how to support people with eating disorders that isn't just "Go get professional treatment right now," so I will do my best to share some stuff that we've been talking about in my harm reduction + peer support networks!

Correct me if I'm retyping your situation incorrectly, but my understanding of what you shared is that your partner has ARFID and is also having other struggles with eating more related to anorexia in terms of fears about weight gain, body image, etc. Their doctors know about the ARFID and are receiving some sort of treatment for the ARFID, but the treatment is triggering some more of the anorexia stuff because of the increased monitoring.

This sounds like a difficult situation for both your partner and you as a support person, and I can understand how stressful it is to have to worry about coercive treatment on top of trying to figure out ways to cope with disordered eating in the first place. It sounds like you've been doing a really good job supporting your partner and listening to what they need, and trying out lots of different things to see what's helpful for them. I'll share some tips, but as always, what works for one person won't work for another! Asking your partner and collaborating with them to figure out what their exact needs and wants are is always going to be the most important.

@librarycards just made a post about harm reduction in eating disorders that I'm going to link to. I'm not going to restate everything they wrote, but one thing they talk about is identifying what feels like a necessity that can't be changed right now, and what things feel like there could be some wiggle room and space for change right now. If your partner is open to it, it might be helpful to sit down and make a list of what kind of eating disorder behaviors feel absolutely necessary right now that can't be changed, and what things feel more flexible. I think it's really important to be able to do this nonjudgmentally--a lot of eating disorder recovery spaces argue that "recovery" is all or nothing, and that allowing any kind of eating disorder behaviors is a failure. It can be really important to use a harm reduction approach to identify goals that actually feel doable for us, instead of saying the only option is to stop every eating disorder behavior and mindset 100%. That will look different for everyone, but explicitly giving yourself permission to continue some eating disorder behaviors can sometimes help people meet other goals around energy, quality of life, etc that are important to them. I know for me, having both ARFID and anorexia made it incredibly difficult to try to focus on dealing with both at the same time. I completely stopped trying to focus on any ARFID goals in increasing variety or challenging sensory needs, and instead just focused on figuring out coping skills and how to meet the energy needs for my body. Giving myself permission to only eat safe foods, ignore social norms around food, etc, helped me a little bit with figuring out how to cope with some of my restrictive urges. It might be worth figuring out with your partner what goals feel like priorities at the moment, and making a plan together.

Another thing that I found super helpful in my own journey with the ARFID and anorexia combo was learning about fat liberation and discussing it with other people. Basically all mainstream eating disorder treatment doesn't bother to spend anytime talking about fat liberation or fatphobia, and usually actually perpetuates a lot of fatphobia. I think that being able to dismantle the societal ideas we learn about weight gain, fatness, and diet culture is super important for everyone, and I think that for disorderly eaters, it can also be super important to track how that influences our own self-understanding of our eating. This list by Rachel Fox is a great starting point for fat liberation resources. For me, it was super helpful to be able to read through articles and books about fat liberation and discuss them with other people, and build a political understanding of fatness that allowed me to connect what I was reading to my experience with disorderly eating. If this is something that your partner is interested in, having someone to learn + read with can be super impactful.

I think it can also be crucial to think about your own boundaries and needs as a support person. You are not in charge of "fixing" your partner and your partner does not need to be "fixed." You're allowed to not know the answers to things, need to take breaks to support yourself, and to also be going through difficult times. Both you and your partner's autonomy is important, and figuring out ways to support without feeling responsible or trying to control each other can be really crucial. I can tell how much you care about your partner and it sounds like you're doing a really incredible job with all the ways you're providing care. If either of you ever feels like you need a space in your life to talk about this, ANAD offers peer support groups both for people living with eating disorders and for family/friends of people living with eating disorders.

Other than that, there's not a ton I can think of for things you should or shouldn't do, since it seems like you have pretty good insight into major things to avoid (forcing people into hospitalization, making fatphobic comments, reinforcing diet culture, forcing recovery) and are doing a lot of things right (asking your partner what they need, trying things out and being flexible, making room for harm reduction style goals instead of only "recovery.") Keep asking your partner how to support them, collaborate with them on the best ways to provide them care, and continue being there for them through this hard time.

Hello! This is a Halloween Enstars special headcanon post so enjoy reading ★

The one who will scream at any sounds:

i can imagine them screaming or running for their life whenever they hear a sound.

some of them would cry to be honest...

i can imagine Mayoi sulking in the corner-

if they are really scared they would jump into someone's arms or hold someone's hand, so they could feel safe.

i can imagine Midori, Tori, Mitsuru, Hajime, and Leo doing that.

if they jumped into someone's arms they would say "sorry" for a hundred times to the unlucky person they jumped into.

for god's sake, someone pls comfort this people since i can imagine them quitting.

if i'm going to be honest rn, i picked the characters here to be the most empathetic and honestly the kindest ones.

they would comfort them by saying encouraging words, holding their hand, hugging them if someone get scared, and etc.

though, they are scared too but they will put on a brave face so that the others know that there is someone strong and willing to help them.

but i can see someone of the characters would fail at making a brave face when they saw a ghost in front of them..

i can imagine the twins aka Hinata and Yuta comforting each other through out the most scary moment.

i can imagine too Nazuna and Tomoya hugging each other when they're scared.

once they finally reached the exit of the haunted house, they would let out a big sigh of relief and check on the others or praising them that they finished the haunted house experience.

i can see Chiaki, Arashi, Adonis, and Madara praising the scarred ones ☆

"Come on! you can do this! stay close to me and I'll protect you from the ghosts!"

The one who will comfort themselves or try to stop themselves from screaming:

Characters: Tetora Nagumo, Kaoru Hakaze, Koga Oogami, Souma Kanzaki, Izumi Sena, Kohaku Oukawa.

i can see all of them comforting themselves even if they got jumpscared.

they would try to say encouraging words to themselves

"you can do this" "just don't get too scared ok?" "what if i screamed the loudest??" "god how am i going to stop myself from flinching" "dang! that almost made me heart stop beating"

i know the last 3 aren't encouraging words but i can see that they will start to panic from worrying too much.

i can see Izumi, Kohaku, and Koga acting like tsunderes when someone is asking them if they're scared.

if they let a scream escape from their mouths they would immediately cover it and start panicking inside.

they would try to make a brave face (unfortunately failed) throughout the haunted house experience.

once they reach the exit of the haunted house they would let out a big sigh of relief and maybe pass out??

"What will happen if they all saw me being a scaredy cat..??"

The one who are only a bit scared and won't scream at any jumpscares:

Characters: Eichi Tenshouin, Hokuto Hidaka, Nagisa Ran, Shu Itsuki, Keito Hasumi.

tbh i choose some of the characters here who are like the bravest ones.

they would actually enjoy the haunted house experience???

well maybe some characters would find it a bit boring..

when the mascots tried to scare of jumpscare them, they would just look at the mascot and say

"nice costume you have there"

and walk away like nothing happened

Shu would examine the mascots outfit and would say the costumes flaws and mistakes since he has a great fashion sense so..

they would find the other's screams entertaining than the mascots

once they reach the end of the haunted house they would only smile to themselves and look at other people who almost pass out because of how scary the haunted house is.

the owner/manager of the haunted house would improve the mascots outfit to make it look more scarier and intimidating because of their comment earlier..

I'm really sorry if this one doesn't make sense or its too ooc-

"Nice costume you have there" *continues to walk like nothing happened*

The one who will laugh at other's screams and actually enjoys the haunted house experience:

Characters: Natsume Sakasaki, Wataru Hibiki, Ibara Saegusa, Rinne Amagi, Ritsu Sakuma, Rei Sakuma.

since Ritsu and Rei are vampires they would really enjoy the haunted house experience.

i can imagine them enjoying themselves by laughing at others' screams of horror.

except for Ritsu who is smiling throughout the whole haunted house.

others might found their laugh scarier than the jumpscares tbh..

they would tease others of how scared they are

i can see them running around the haunted house with excited smiles on their face (except Ritsu who is busy teasing others)

honestly they would make the mood light up a bit or make it even worse...

once they are in the exit of the haunted house they would want to go back for another round

i might think they're the only ones who actually enjoyed the haunted house experience ☆

"That was fun! shall we go again for another round?"

Spoilers for Bayo 3 ahead!!!

Aight I'm playing Bayonetta 3 rn and I have some thoughts that I HAVE to share for the sake of my mental health. In no particular order:

LUKAON??? Bro the entire Luka plot in this game is almost impressively cringy. Who the fuck plays Bayonetta 1 & 2 and thinks—hmm, this Luka fellow should DEFINITELY become central to the plot for this game to REALLY work. Also, they somehow managed to write out any sort of endearing characteristics of the Luka from previous games?? New Luka's entire personality until now seems to be "uhhhh, me man find woman pretty". I won't even get into the masterclass in bad writing (and bad design tbh) that is "Lukaon" (henceforth named Whiter Luka in this rant). If they were going for a "mysterious stranger" kind of vibe, personally I think they fucking failed miserably. B3Luka is only Luka in name and (arguably) appearance. He has the depth of a blank piece of paper.

I fucking HATE playing as Viola, and this colors my opinion of the character too. No shade to the voice actress, I'm sure she did her best with what she was given, but I have audibly groaned almost every time she appeared on screen. I was okay with the idea of her being an edgy, cringy teen, but she eats up SO much fucking screentime that it becomes jarring. Her gameplay is painfully monotonous, even though I find Cheshire adorable, and her controls are stiffer and very limiting in comparison to Bayonetta herself. Gameplay-wise, Viola is everything a Bayonetta game should NOT be (in my opinion)—LIMITING.

Speaking of limiting, the Jeanne levels. Now, anyone who knows me knows that Jeanne is my queen, but HOLY FUCK those levels. Again, controls do not feel right, level design is atrocious and it all feels like a slog to go through. Why did they think we needed more gimmick levels for the love of fuck?? Why can't I just play Bayonetta in my Bayonetta fucking game? They did my queen dirty, on God...

Why the FUCK are we not exploring the Bayonetta alternative selves more??? There is so much fucking potential, the Egyptian version seems genuinely fascinating to explore, but NOPE!! Why should the Bayonetta game be about Bayonetta when it can be about new character we don't give a shit about and comic-relief-side-character that the writers PROMISE is srs bsns bro, I swear. Ask yourself this, if you were given the choice, would you follow the Viola storyline? I'm genuinely fucking curious.

Ngl, I'm not crazy about the gameplay. It's too much, too fast, nothing seems to matter and nothing is special. They constantly throw enemies at us with no sense of pacing or progression. Same for weapons. Remember the Grace & Glory entrance cutscene from the first game? Remember how memorable that was? Well, hope you DIDN'T like that, cause Bayo 3 will likely never give you that feeling. It's the DEFINITION of too much, too quickly. When everything is meant to be special, nothing is really special. Bayonetta 3 is flashy, for sure, but it feels shallow, at least on the first playthrough. I fucking hate saying this, but I'm genuinely disappointed. I think there are some good bones. I would love to be able to use the new weapons and techniques in a better designed, petter paced game (like Bayonetta 1), but as it stands, playing 3 feels cheap. When I got hit in Bayo 1 I never felt frustration, because most enemies and arenas were designed to allow you to experiment and figure out your own play style. With Bayo 3 I have literally dropped my controller out of frustration (usually when playing Viola). Listen, if be okay with Viola if she was an optional character, like King Zero from the first game or Rosa from the second. As she is, she makes me NOT want to fucking play the game, which is insanely frustrating.

The Crow and Cat umbran tears illustrate the weaknesses of Bayonetta 3's controls VERY fucking well. Why so many fucking gimmicks?? Who plays Bayonetta for the Route 666 and beginning of Isla del Sol, WHO??? Because they would probably love Bayonetta 3.

The world is sadly also quite poorly designed. Everything which shares an aesthetic blends together and orientation without a map of some sorts is a logistical nightmare. Again, it seems like they took the worst parts of Bayo 1 and filled 3 to the brim with them. Gimmicks, backtracking, the fact that you can MISS verses because of the poor map design.

It bears repeating, but this is very personal thing and less of a critique. I don't care about Viola. I don't care about Luka or Whiter Luka. I don't care about the Singularity or Sigurd. I'm. Or even curious about them at this point. Why was Bayonetta relegated to a side character in a game that is NAMED AFTER HER?? I care more about Ed and Edna than I do all previous individuals mentioned. The story of Bayonetta was never great, even in 1, but it was held together by memorable characters. You can't TELL me that a character is memorable, you have to show me. Even the character of Bayo herself has suffered as a result of the poor writing. The depth of her personality is nowhere to be found in 3. And no, it's not the voice change, I love Hale's work and she is doing a great job. We overlooked faults in the story in Bayo 1 (and arguably 2) because the gameplay loop was satisfying. Bayo 3 doesn't have that. And it makes me really fucking sad...

Small re:zero rant (spoilers for LN) that are just an accumulation of things I haven't been able to rant about but gotta get out

I'm on the LN volume 18 right now and I'm so happy with the way re:zero is going after volume 15 (where the anime ends.) I was kinda dreading the whole ohhh nooo Subaru gets stuck and we gotta repeat a whole segment for the 4th time (not one of the times before did it annoy me but it gets tiresome after a while) but nah, my guy refuses to die and now he has a very fucked up black dragon leg. The relief I feel when the guy gets fucked up and just passes out and lives on instead of looping over and over is great, it's nice that the characters are also getting their own arcs because of it to (e.g. Garfeil's mummy issues ((almost made me cry tbh)) and it wouldn't have happened or would have gotten undone if Subaru kept resetting).

Ngl I took a reading break cause the start of the arc was very slice of lifey and while I enjoyed it there wasn't enough going on to make my dyslexic ass put in enough effort to get past it, but now everytime I read shits going on and it seems to have potential to get really good.

Alsoalso I know that at some point some shit happens to Subaru where he has some shit to do with wrath (I've tried to stay away from details as much as possible) and I'm very excited to see what happens with that and how they do it, especially since the archbishop of wrath is one of the enemies rn

Alsoalsoalso Subaru and Julius are sooooo fucking gay, why is every interaction so fruity??? How were they not meant to be written as bfs like their dynamic from a romantic perspective is so much more interesting than any relationship Subaru has with anyone else (I'm fine with like Emilia/Rem and it makes sense why they like him but like it's boring I'm sorry). Also I know the story is written in 3rd person and the descriptions aren't actually Subaru's direct perspective but it's just so funny to me how often Julius is described as a really handsome man and no one else is. I like to imagine this is Subaru's demons (bisexuality) coming out.

I do have issues with it (mmmm some designs ESPECIALLY the archbishop of LUST LIKE CAN THEY NOT) and sometimes they say some annoying ass horny shit which is always a :///. Also it's understandably gotten to a point where everyone loves Subaru as yk he's kinda saved everyone but it's just made many dynamics boring now. Like they don't have to dislike him or whatever but I think it would be cool if characters had more complex dynamics with eachother and the group wasn't just united by 'yea we all love Subaru!' (Beatrice kinda gets an excuse of she literally shut herself off from everyone and she's that close to Subaru because he saved her and is the only person she's let herself trust thus far, but also I hope she has more of a relationship with those around her)

BUTT other than that I'm enjoying the series (so sad the LN only goes up to 22 in english what am I going to do after I catch up

who i think may/may not die in vol 2

since noah just confirmed that there will be some deaths in v2, here's my opinion on all the characters' safety

NOT safe:

lucas sinclair

the first name that came to mind. he might get vecna'd in vol 2 and he kinda seems killable rn if that makes sense (not that i want him to die don't get me wrong i love lucas) and also (this applies to the other 3 boys) it wld be rlly mean to kill them off just before the final season

max mayfield

i was 85% sure she was getting vecna'd again in vol 2 and then the new teaser practically confirmed it. the vol 2 trailer doesn't look good for her

dustin henderson

could die saving steve, plus the duffers said a fan fav is dying, but also he's one of the 4 ogs so for that reason alone he might be safe

murray bauman

the hilarious comic relief character everyone loves. seen this film before

enzo/dmitri

i was surprised they hadnt killed him off already, but now if they do it wouldn't be surprising at all so idk lets see

mike wheeler

this is the one character who i assumed was safe because i was just all "nah they wouldn't do that"...but honestly? he isn't rlly safe. there's also the whole IT parallel to think abt (bec it's basically canon that will has feelings for mike). but then again like i said earlier, they might not kill the of 4 in the penultimate season

jonathan byers

i feel like of the teens this is the most likely death. not steve or eddie or robin, as I'll explain later. and i highly doubt nancy. his death would hurt everybody but especially will (we know he gets a bigger arc)

erica sinclair

again, the entertaining side character. you never know

karen wheeler

she has a character poster even though she rlly hasn't played a major role so far. there was also that clip in the trailer where shes scared and holding holly. very very likely shes dying

UNSURE ABOUT

jim hopper

again, he got too close to peril for him to actually die again, but again, we never know. of the people in this section, he seems the most likely to die

nancy wheeler

they put her too close to peril for her to actually die. her character also feels like it has a lot of potential vis-a-vis the plot. i'd say a 93% chance she survives

steve harrington & eddie munson

put them together because they have the same explanation: does the way the show is going seem to set up for their deaths? yes. but i think it was shawn levy who said steve is safe, and also joseph essentially said he's in s5, so they wont die. most likely. but they could also just be lying so :|

[edit] + robin says to steve in the vol 2 "i have this terrible feeling it might not work out for us this time" so tbh...idh a good feeling

joyce byers

she could've died, maybe, but winona accidentally said she's in s5 so lol she might not. she isn't a hundred percent in danger (and also there's that snippet of jon and will hugging that we need to be wary of)
