If we were close, we say when we're apart. / If I tell you my body is full of stone caves, / you understand the sadness there.

Dragon Telephone Game Interest Check!
Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I hosted one of these, but i’ve gathered up enough residual spoons to go for round three! However, instead of Hollow Knight for this round we’re doing
Tumblr media
Dragons
So how does this work?
If this is new to you or you missed the first two rounds of the telephone games lemme direct you to this tag to scour through on my blog!
Basically, a team of 5 artists and 5 writers (yep! writers get to join in on the fun!) are assigned one after the other, such as:
writer -> artist -> writer -> artist -> writer -> etc
and then the first person in line is given a prompt from me! If a writer is first in line, they get to write a story or a blurb based off of a prompt I give them. After they finish writing their piece, they submit it to me and I hand it off to the next person in line, an artist! The artist will take the written piece and draw inspiration from a scene or from the description of the dragon! That piece of art is then submitted and I hand it to the writer next in line and so forth. Going into the previous participants DMs to scream excitedly about the work you got from them is highly encouraged!
Each participant gets 5 days of work and 2 days of buffer. Artists can draw comics or single standalone pieces. Writers get 300 to 6000 words.
At the end, we get to see how much the dragon changed or what miraculously stayed the same the entire time! Ultimately the goal is to have fun.
Each telephone chain is themed. In the Hollow Knight telephone games, each chain was themed after one of my AUs, but for this one I’m going much broader since a dragon themed game is a lot more flexible. So themes would be like “Battle Scarred Warrior” “An Average Day in the Dragon Rescue Shelter” “The Mythical Anthology of the Mini Draccus” etc
One hard rule is that all dragons and works must be original to the telephone game. So no Flightrising, Wings of Fire, Dragonriders of Pern, etc dragons or OCs. You may take whatever you create afterward and do whatever you want with them, but when the games start you’ll be creating from scratch from a prompt or from the participant’s work given to you.
If there is enough interest, I’ll send out a form on October 8th for people to fill out to then join the telephone discord!
SO
Tumblr media
anyone interested? :)c

are the circhos (and the other creatures under #scandinavian for that matter) actually part of scandinavian folklore or were they just made up in some fantasy book with norse themes? they are mentioned on the english wikipedia page for scandinavian folklore but i cant find any actual scandinavian references to them. not even the name circhos sounds similar to anything i can think of in any scandinavian language. i know wikipedia is fairly unreliable but still?
*deep breath*
Aristotle (noted ancient Greek egghead) described hermit crabs as living in nerita shells
Michael Scot (medieval translator of Aristotle) translated nerita as kiroket
Thomas de Cantimpré combined the account of the crab and the shells and garbled kiroket into cricos, turning it into a Creature of some sort
The Ortus Sanitatis took the cricos from Albertus Magnus' retelling of Thomas de Cantimpré and made it even more of a monster (it now has a human head and a shark body)
Olaus Magnus took the Ortus Sanitatis account, dropped the human head and dog feet, and now says that it lives in the ocean around Scandinavia
So... at least one person took the end product of a game of telephone that started with a Greek hermit crab and dumped it in Scandinavian waters. Good enough for the Scandinavia tag I guess?
I decided to return to its crustacean origins when I made the drawing for ABC. Besides I like drawing crabs.

Cure Pearl & Cure Garland
Tumblr media
I'm finally finished with this illustration, these Cures are from the Discord Telephone event where everyone was on separate teams and did a specific part of each cure. I got team Spring and Cure Garland's Weapon/ Wand. (It's supposed to be a vase at the top with flowers sprouting out of it!)

The idiom “let the chips fall where they may” is said to have originated with American wood choppers in the 1800s — the idea being that woodcutters had to focus on larger logs and not worry about the small pieces (“chips”) as they fell. A version of “don’t sweat the small stuff”, if you will.
HOWEVER, an Icelandic poem from 1225 CE uses the same expression referencing a type of rune casting — i.e. throwing marked chips in the air, seeing how they land and using the placement to divine how best to proceed. In this instance the expression “let the chips fall where they may” meant more along the lines of “whatever will be, will be.”
I’d bet the idiom survived long enough to be completely divorced from the original practice of rune casting that humans forgot and unknowingly came up for a new origin story for the idiom — as though the generations in between were unwittingly playing an ancient version of the telephone game.

Telephone Game - BatFam Style
The idea would be that instead of keeping the original statement the most intact possible until the end, they would have to take a lie/rumor and turn it into an irrefutable truth. It does not have to be a big thing. It just has to be irrefutable! To the point that the person, the object of your truth, will even beging to acept it.
It sounds evil but it is not! I swear, it would like a prank and Alfred would be the rule keeper to make sure they do not overstep.
And how did this began, you ask?
Let's say B was teaching D (Dick) to tell believable lies, for vigilante related things...
Sooo when is still a kid and visiting the JL Headquarters and telling everyone that care to hear his adventures with The B in Gotham... someone (possibly Ollie or Hal) is like just humoring him (with that typical adult way when a child is telling an exaggerated story, you know?). And just goes "Yeah? That sounds great, kiddo".
And D just gets so sad/mad that they dis not believe him, he was telling the truth! Soooo B tells him to get even, if they do not believe him...then D should make them believe.
This...well, let's just say it escalates. D begins telling these simple tales with minor details that don't matter (lies) with the truth! Until the whole JL believe that they (B&D) actually fought the Penguin while he (Penguin) was wearing tighty whities with his name on.
An irrelevant details to be sure, but is it? Suddenly, a photo of Penguin appears on his undies! (Never actually happened) And this convinces all the JL adults.
Let's flashfoward to few years later...
There is a photo of Flash pulling a rubber ducky in a figth with Cap. Cold.
There is a video of Green Lantern with a piece of brocoli between his teeth.
A photo of Diana wearing the most atrocious nail polish ever!
A candid photo of Ollie wearing a baby bib to an italian restaurant.
Etc.
All things that they swear never happened.
And as little D (Damian) and newbie D(Duke) are learning...they never did. But when you start a rumor in this family, you have to make sure it is.
After all: "It doesn't matter how ridiculous a lie is. As long as it is repeated often enough, some people will believe it.".
But for THIS family, SOME is just lazy!

Hey! Somebody wants to participate in a telephone game?
If you want to, then read this post :D
I will do a Homestuck related telephone game with 5 people (that number migt change!)
Once there are 5 people participating i will make a list, and send the first person a drawing, that they will have to redraw! Then, once they have finished their piece, they will have to send it to the next person in the list and so on!
Rules
DONT show the drawing that was sent to you to the next person! Send it to me instead, so i can make a post with all the drawings once the game is finished!
Dont post the drawing in your blog until i make the aforementioned post, to avoid other people seeing it until everyone is finished!
These are all the rules for now! If you have any questions dont be afraid to ask!
Here's the list of the people participating!
