Jaune found himself sitting in his dorm gaming with ruby and surprisingly Weiss was with them, watching as the two were playing "street clash revolve" with jaune winning 3 matches as it was a best of six. With ruby winning 4 matches.

Jaune: Oop! Oop! Here it comes ruby!

Ruby: oh you think?! Aight bring it vomit boy!

Jaune proceed to tap a chain of buttons.

Up forward and then B as jaune shouted with enthusiasm.

Jaune: KANE OVERDRIVE!

On the TV screen the letters K. O. plastered the screen as Ruby groaned but also laughed as her and jaune fist bump. With Weiss watching in awe.

Ruby: GG jaune, GG.

Jaune: what you mean GG? We only got two rounds left before one of us wins.

Ruby: unfortunately I gotta get ready.me and yang will be heading to our dad's cabin for our break, and I gotta grab my bags and get ready, me and her will leave in an hour.

Jaune: awe, well I understand

Weiss: you sure you two and your father couldn't reschedule?

Jaune and Ruby had to do a double take as they looked at Weiss who they completely forgot was there.

Weiss:... Look I'm on the edge of my seat and I want to see who wins!

Jaune and Ruby look at eachother.

Jaune: are you sure we aren't sharing a dream?

Ruby: definitely. But regardless sorry Weiss but I gotta go, if don't who knows when me and yang will be able to go again.

Ruby walked out as jaune and Weiss sat on the formers bed with Jaune just looking at Weiss.

Jaune: hey um.. real talk, but why have you been so interested in what me and ruby do lately.

Weiss: oh just curiosity, plus I figured it do me some good to get to hang out with my leader and her friend.

Jaune looked at her as he put his controller away and fully turned to her.

Weiss just sat there before groaning.

Weiss: i don't know why but whenever I try to be Alone she constantly pops up and bugs me over and over again, its getting frustrating and since i cant be alone any more-

Jaune just chuckled but waved his hand.

Jaune: yeah that. All I'm gonna say is this, siblings may come from the same family, but they don't always have the same lessons as us... I can't believe I actually used the advice saph gave me.

Weiss chuckled as she just looked at the knight. The two hadn't completely become friends but jaune hoped they were getting there, and so far from he could tell.. they were.

Then footsteps are heard as one Belamere "bleiss" noir givrése. Weiss Schnee's twin sister. Her attire still the same biker aesthetic as ever with her looking around the room, before seeing jaune.

Bleiss: ah you jaune I wanna talk to you for a second.

To both Jaune and Weiss's her tone was less rude and more... polite.

Weiss: where the hell was this?!

Jaune: uh sure just give me a second.

Bleiss: take your time but this is rather important.

Weiss: WHERE THE HELL WAS THIS?!

Jaune adjusted himself as he followed Bleiss outside the room only to be pinned to the wall as he yelped before being hushed by the twin of his snow angel.

Bleiss: I need your help arc, my dear sister and I have obviously not gotten along. So I need you to help me out here since you, Weiss, and that ruby girl, are buddy-buddy now. Got it?

Jaune simply nodded as Bleiss smiled.

Bleiss: good. And If you do well enough who knows.. I may give you a taste of people out of your leag-

Jaune removed her hand from his mouth rather calmly as he spoke.

Jaune: don't even think about it, I'm doing this because Weiss is my friend, and I prefer her not having to deal with any problem that can be solved. I don't care what you give in exchange.

Bleiss:.. that's surprisingly noble. Here I was thinking he was just a loser going for women out of his league.

Jaune: are we done now?

Bleiss: hm? Oh yes, I'll be going now, till then, noble knight~

Jaune raised an eyebrow at the nickname as Bleiss walked away with a smirk.

Bleiss: perhaps this place is nothing like vacoue, and if that's the case this will be lovely~

Rebirth: Willow, are you going to break the news to Weiss and Witley about the Winter situation? Or are you going to wait until they’re older and less likely to be under Jauques thumb? And are you sure there’s not going to be another white haired addition running around? You know how ‘potent’ the Arcs can be.

Battle Plans

Juniper soon enters her room with her darling husband to me their wife friend, Willow, slowly packing away her clothes, seemingly trying to delay her departure until the last moment possible.

Juniper: So, what’s the plan?

Willow: I finish up packing, and then tomorrow the three of us will be on our way back to, Atlas. There’s nothing else to it.

Juniper: That isn’t what I meant, Willow.

Willow: …

Willow: I know… Haa… How do I tell, Weiss, and Whitely that, Winter is only their half sister? So long as, Jacques is there I can’t tell them anything. Although I doubt any of them even know I’ve been out of, Atlas for the past few weeks. I’ve managed to repair the relationship with my oldest daughter, but that was thanks to you, and Acheius presence. I will have no such support with those two.

Juniper: You sure you don’t want, Achi to just come over there, and kick, Jackass’s ass?

Willow: Would he be willing to do that?

Achieus: Hell yes I would! Oh I can see it already! I come in, deck, that bastard right in the face, sending him flying through a window crashing into the icy tundra far below. Then, I grab, Willow by the waist like so!

Acheius: I suspect they’re going with a long con plan here.

Juniper: I’m afraid they’re planning for that as well.

Willow: What do you think they are planning then?

Acheius: I think… they’re planning for the quickest way you could possibly remove, Jacques.

Willow: The quickest way would mean… no… They’re planning on killing him?!

Acheius: I think so too…

Willow: But, they’re just children, they couldn’t possibly be seriously thinking about killing a man, even such a vile man as him!

Juniper: There is a lot about the twins you don’t know about. Jell, there’s a lot about the twins that even we, their parents, and siblings know about them. And, what we do know is quite… unsettling.

Willow: Unsettling how?

Acheius: They know how to take a life.

Acheius: And, I’m not saying this in the manner of they know how to kill someone like: ‘Pointy end goes into man, man dies’ kind of way, everyone knows that. But, they know how toget away with it, and worse they know how to live with the grief of taking a life.

Willow: They could take a life, and it wouldn’t phase them?

Juniper: While I don’t know about, Jeanne. I know for certain that, Jaune could take a life. In fact, I dare say he already has.

Acheius: What?! What makes you say that?

Juniper: When I read the news, and it said the author of the, ‘The Girl Who Fell’ died. Jaune seemed to be indifferent to her death, but I swear on my life I heard him mumble, “That took longer than expected.”

Willow: The papers said she was poisoned. Do you think?

Acheius: A slow acting poison no doubt. One that you would never realize it was there until it was too late…

Willow: So that’s how they’re planning on dealing with, Jacques. They’re planning on poisoning him!

Juniper: Hit, Jacques with a slow acting poison, and then you just wait. And, just like grand-pappy used to say: ‘The patient hunter, gets the prey.’

Acheius: Jeanne will be staying with, Winter, while studying in, Atlas with her. But, she will no doubt come, and visit you at, Schnee Manor. When there, all she has to do is wait for the opportune moment to slip it to him.

Willow: Should I offer my assistance to them? I could make it easier for them.

Juniper: No, you will be the first person they question. You need any ability to deny any, and all evidence to his death to prove your innocence. If they know about this conversation they could accuse you of murder as is.

Willow: That’s true. I could have perhaps hint at a means of slipping him the poison unnoticed. That is if they’re using a poison to kill him, or even if they’re planning anything at all.

Acheius: They’re certainly not planning on bludgeoning him to death with a piece of masonry.

Juniper: Much less catching a Grimm, and sicing that on that bastard son of a bitch, certainly not.

Willow: They’re most certainly not planning that~!

Acheius: Oh they’re most certainly not planning anything~!

Jaune: Our orginal plan will work far better than that.

Jeanne: And, if by some miracle, for, Jacques, it doesn’t work, we go to, Plan B instead!

Jaune: You have a, Plan B?

Jeanne: Spike his food with enough laxatives that he shits his bowels to death~!

Jaune: Oh… Oh that would be a fitting end for the little shiter!

Jaune: But, I think they have meds that can fix that so?

Love that last volume's climax starts with Ruby thinking Yang died to protect her:

And this one starts with Yang thinking Ruby died because she did not protect her enough:

And of course both are wrong:

Yang shields Ruby out of instinct and it is definately not Ruby's fault if she fell. It is something that can happen while fighting side by side with someone.

Ruby attempts to kill herself not because Yang has not been there for her enough. Not because she has moved into a romantic relationship when Ruby needed her most. Tbh, the volume is full of scenes where Yang keeps checking on Ruby.

Yang would have probably shielded Blake and Weiss too. Ruby would have probably drunk the tea even if Yang and Blake did not kiss. Still, both sisters think the other's pain could have been avoided. If only they were better.

Yang and Ruby's relationship has been paradoxical since the beginning. Yang is Ruby's stand-in mom, while Ruby is Yang's leader. Both think the other is a better version of themselves, someone they can look up to. Ruby is inspired by Yang's strength. Yang is inspired by Ruby's optimism. Maybe they also envy the other a little. Like many siblings do.

And yet, they also feel they owe the other something. Ruby is Yang's little sister, so Yang owes her warmth and protection. Yang is Ruby's stand-in parent, so Ruby owes her to be a good child. They love each other, but also they feel they are not enough for each other. Because both feel the emptiness left by Summer and project it on the other. They know they could never fill that emptiness. And feel guilty about it.

We have had bits of this dynamic throughout the whole series, most notably in Mistral. There both feel they are letting the other down:

Yang feels guilt over not going with Ruby. She shows distress when she overhears Tai implying he can't run after Ruby because he has to look out for Yang. Eventually she puts on her arm and leaves home, all for her sister's sake.

Ruby feels guilt over leaving Yang alone, when her sister has already lost so much. She feels so terrible about it, she can't even say goodbye properly. She leaves a note and then keeps on writing letters to her. To show her she cares, even if she is far away. The moment they meet, Ruby starts crying and immediately apologizes for leaving Yang.

Basically, Yang feels terrible for not running straight up into danger after being hurt both physically and psychologically. Ruby instead feels selfish because she decides to travel the world to save people. This should give us a measure of how they have a lot of interiorized guilt toward each other.

This dynamic is finally exploding. I think Ruby's suicidal attempt will bring to the surface a lot of unsolved issues (maybe even leading to Yang regressing a little), which will then be solved and explored in Vacuo, where Raven and Summer are coming back.

My guess is the 2 sisters need to grow up into their own different people. They need to outgrow the roles they have been playing for each other's sake and reforge their bond into a stronger and healthier one.

Pyrrha: Well, for as long as I've known Jaune, I've found the easiest answer is the most simple one.

Yang: Alright I'm first. walking up to the assortment of DVDs they had laid out on a coffee table, picking one up and walking over to the TV which had a DVD player plugged into it courtesy of Jaune. everyone got to their seats Ruby plopped down on Jaune lap. Yang sat next to Jaune on the couch making sure he didn't do anything with ruby. Weiss Sat by herself on a single seat. Pariah sat on the other side of Jaune.  Blake laid on the floor flat on her stomach. and Ren was just sort of floating in the air.

2 hours later

Yang: Dragon Tales, Dragon Tales It's almost time for Dragon Tales Come along and take my hand Let's all go to Dragon Land.

Blake: You're Insufferable. I know we have the whole weekend to watch this but stillI can think of much better ways of spending our time. Like keeping Jaune magic under control.

Weiss: I think for once I agree with you. But I don't think that  country bumpkin is as scary or powerful as you say. What is more likely is that our head professor made some sort of bet that he can make a human strong and so he intervened making it seem like Jaune was that powerful after all the image of everything amongst the council. 

Pariah: Well there's no need to be so mean I'm sure Jaune is plenty strong. and while that does make some sense I still believe he can achieve strength Just look at Achilles after all. 

Jaune: I think we're getting off topic. here let's just pick out the next one. sticking his hand into the Hat as quickly as he can he pulls out Hercules by Bisney.

pariah: it's my turn. Oh I just know you'll love it Jaune it's a story about the hero Hercules similar to me except in real life he's a bit of an asshole. Oh I know you can come visit my family up in Mountain Olympus maybe even visit my uncle Hades I'm sure you'd like pomegranates there we could have some together.

Jaune: maybe some other time like during summer break. Maybe if we still had time you can come visit my family. We live up north Near a mountain range.

pariah: oh I'd love to meet your family. I'm sure we could have a lot to talk about (like a marriage contract).

Weiss: He said you live up north right.

weiss: I hope you don't live too far the farther you go the more dead it gets. I'd hate to spend some time where trees don't bloom. Most of the wildlife you'll see is a mixture of Undead and dying.

weiss: no but if you have a stable Village up there there's lots of dust and magical crystals that can be harvested well necromancy is a rare Magic and it's Crystal's even rarer they are still widely used to bring the dead back to life such as Frankenstein's or recently deceased people you can make a killing selling those things. your family may be a profitable business venture if you have a stable community set up.

Ren: You know for someone who's all about equality this movie was an odd choice for you given the time period.

Blake: really I like the message it sends plus I also helps that most of our heritage stems from Mistral.

Ruby: It's my turn. Before any objections could be made she hopped up from Jonah's laughing with a skip and a Beat ran over to the DVD collection the Hat apparently having been long abandoned. Retrieving from the collection Halloweentown another Bisney product. 

Weiss: A childish movie for a childish person.  I suppose I'll go next leaving only the pumpkin left since ren came from a time before TV shows and movies were a thing. I'll have to show you all what class is. Wes elegantly getting up from her seat and walking across the floor without making a sound picked up a DVD with. The Phantom of the Opera on it.

Yang: huuugh boring  you should really get some better taste and movies.

Weiss: unlike you I'm refined and I'll not be wasting my precious time on something as foolish as an action movie.

Weiss: I hope you all learned something from this that fine Film Production will far exceed anything for the Mindless masses you all should thank me for the chance to learn this. A collective groan was heard from the group; the only ones who liked it were Ren and Blake.

Jaune: Well I guess it's my turn to walk up to his DVD. It's a strange thing compared to the others, no advertisement, no coloration, just a simple disc and a case  labeled Konrad Kerr's.

Weiss: That's a strange name and are you sure this isn't a pirated copy? One Wouldn't surprises me given where you come from.

Yang:  why is it a strange name for a movie granted that's definitely a pirated copy but still.

Weiss: well if you must know Konrad Kerr's. was the one who started the whole night Lord's War he believed that through fear he could rule an absolute power it's unknown what he was many believed him to be a lich a little son believed him to be a vampire all that's known as that he was an incredibly dangerous individual with sadistic tendencies comparable to that of demons.

Yang: Then it's probably some really old movie during the war about how he was beaten by a hero or something. How did this even come up by the way.

Ruby: oh well we were at the Museum and Jonah talked about how he got nostalgia and so we sort of spiraled out from there about watching movies and TV shows from our childhood.

yang: huh so this is what vomit boy listened to when he was little we 'lad.

Jaune: Yep I remember watching this movie over and over and over again my dad said it was his favorite. He said Grandpa even helped in making it.

Plug it in right off the bat this did not scream child appropriate but living so far and into the woods where grim and far worse can get you it's not surprising that children would not be exposed to the most appropriate media. and then it started although in the style of animation what they were exposed to was unfiltered Gore true acts committed by the night Lord's army.

Throughout every moment of this song everyone saw every bit of violence from the generals of the night lords taking to the night to rip and tear their enemies to bits. to Konrad Kerr's himself appearing to men being Chopped into blocks begging for mercy as they were flayed alive. by the end of it Ruby was hiding under the blanket on Jaune lap pariah was hugging into his shoulder and genuine fear. Blake's hair stood on end at the back of her neck. Ren for the first time in a long time felt fear not for himself but for what could have happened to his friends if this were true and the Lord of night did return. Weiss for all her Elegance couldn't deny this man was absolutely a vampire of sorts, how else could you explain such an oppressive Aura after all vampires were the peak of evolution, the second closest being humans. Yang for all her bravado and all her tribes cruelty before she left to live with her father permanently never experienced anything close to this. all the while Jaune was singing along blissfully unaware of the true context of the song just liking the tune of his childhood show.

Jaune: Well that's episode one we still have a few more to go I think it was 29 more in total. Before he could make good on his words a blast of magic lit up from Yang's hand destroying it.

yang: oops sorry but after a while if not flexing I get a bit Twitchy. Hey I know how about we all have giant sleepovers you know like friends do. to anyone other than Jaune it was obvious she was scared to sleep by herself.

Beacon has a "bring your siblings to school" day. Ruby and Yang are already going together, Winter and Whitley made time for Weiss. Who does Blake bring, if she brings anyone at all?

(I took some thought into this, and I can think of only one person Blake would bring and what the outcome would be)

“I need you to pose as my sister at Beacon,” Blake practically pleaded with Ilia over her scroll. “Its going to be sibling day and you’re as close to a sister as I have.” 

Ilia sighed and looked away from her screen on the video call. “Why not ask Trifa to do it? She was pretty much your older sister anyway with how Adam kept you close to her.” 

“I dont want her, I want you. Besides, this could be an out for you to get away from the White Fang-” 

“Who said I want out?” 

Blake went quiet for a moment as she stared at the screen on her scroll, not entirely sure how to answer. Of course she thought Ilia wanted out, she wasnt all that much different than her. “Havent you… wanted to do something more?” 

Ilia rolled her eyes. “More than what? I know you didnt like it, but what we’re doing is working. We’re getting rights for faunus in more places than we ever did with Ghira in charge. I dont want to leave this.” 

“Then think of it as a chance to get to know how huntsmen are fighting.” Blake paused for a moment as she tried to think about what she just said, almost thinking back to how she did when she was part of the White Fang. “Even if things are working now, it doesnt mean they’ll continue to work. The White Fang is starting to put a target on it’s back and huntsmen will have to deal with them at some point. Especially since they’re working with a human here in Vale.” 

“You’re lying!” Ilia half yelled over the call. “The White Fang would never work with a human.” 

“I’ve seen it. Look, come here for a day, pretend to be my sister, and you can prepare for huntsmen and see what I mean about the White Fang.” 

“Fine, I’ll come, but only for one day.” 

“That’s all I ask.” Blake’s smile faded as the call ended, a small sigh leaving her lips as she leaned back on Beacon’s rooftop and stared up at the stars and the broken moon above her. She couldnt be any more nervous to see Ilia again, even if it was only for a day. Still, it would give her a chance to try to mend the friendship she had broken when she left. 

“Blake?” Yang called out. “You up here?” 

Blake slipped her scroll into her pocket and sat up. “Yeah, I’m up here.” 

Yang smiled as she climbed up. “You should’ve let us know you were going to be out for a bit. Weiss was freaking out that she did something to make you run off again.” 

“N-no, it wasnt that.” 

“Then what are you doing up here for?” 

“I-I wanted to see the stars,” Blake lied as she laid back down and stared up at the night sky once more. “Its a clear night out tonight and it reminds me a bit of home.” 

“You never talk about what home was like for you,” Yang said as she laid down next to Blake. “Like if you have siblings or what your parents were like. You’ve always kept that part of yourself secret.” 

“And one day I’ll talk about it. But for right now, I… want to be alone.” 

“Mind if I stay out where with you?” 

Blake smiled a bit. “I wouldnt mind the company.”

Blake patiently waited for Ilia in the courtyard in front of Beacon as siblings of other students started to funnel in. She pulled out her scroll to make sure she gave Ilia the right instructions, almost worried that Ilia wasnt going to show. Finally, she heard Ilia’s voice calling out. 

“Blake?” Ilia called out as she pushed past a few people. “Blake!” 

“Over here!” Blake called back as she started to make her way to Ilia, a small smile crossing her lips as she caught a glimpse of her. “Right here!” 

“When you asked me to come I didnt expect for there to be so many… people.” Ilia frowned as a couple humans bumped into her, her voice quieting as she spoke again. “Nor so many humans.” 

“I know, but if I had told you otherwise, you wouldnt have come.” 

“And I’m still regretting that.” 

Blake sighed and started to pull Ilia through the courtyard and to the dorms. “I know, but… please, just for today I need you to go along with this. Stick around with me, meet my team and a few of my friends, and then come with us to find out what the White Fang are doing here.” 

Ilia rolled her eyes a bit. “And see that they’re working with humans, like you claim they are. I still dont think this is going to-” 

Blake paused in her step as she heard Ilia’s words trail off, almost pulling her when she realized Ilia had stopped. She turned to look at Ilia, almost curious to what she was looking at. “Everything okay?” 

Ilia nodded, watching Weiss with her sister, hands nearly going white as she clenched her fist. “You didnt tell me anyone from Atlas was going to be here.” 

“Weiss is one of my teammates. If you get to know her, you’ll see she’s different-” 

“I’ll meet your team, be nice to your friends, and follow you out to the White Fang. But once I dont need to be here anymore, I’ll have to let Adam know where you are. And you know what he’ll do to her.” 

Blake felt Ilia pull away from her as she started to walk to the dorm room. After a week of planning to convince Ilia that things were better here, everything had suddenly started to feel more complicated.

Blake 'only child' Belladonna suddenly finds herself with three new siblings

In my previous post, I talked about some headcanons I have fer the ship Snowleopard regarding how the parents would interact with the kids. Now, it's time to unleash some ideas I got fer how Blake and the Schneeblings would interact if their parents dated in a super healthy bi4bi4bi pilfish polycule, or as I like to call it, Bellaschneebling headcanon time >:)))

-First and foremost, poly pilfs = endless potential fer never before seen Winter and Blake shenanigans

-Can y'all imagine Winter acting 'weird' towards Blake- appearing outta nowhere to give advice like 'your form would be better if you did xyz' or randomly giving Blake water bottles throughout the day or glaring at strangers and being super tensed and serious when they're out in town together in an otherwise chill walk to meet up with the others- and when Blake goes to Weiss outta concern and explaining the situation Weiss is like, "Oh! Oh my dust! Blake, do you know what this means???"

"If I did, I wouldn't be asking you for help right now."

"Blake, my sister officially sees you as her own younger sibling!"

"Are, are you sure?"

"I'm positive! Winter is not the most conventional when it comes to showing it, but she really does care in her own way. When she gives you criticism, it's because she knows you can do better and she wants you to the best you can possibly be. The water thing is something she used to do for Whitley and I growing up, I've always believed it because she picked it up from Klein that making sure people stay hydrated is a form of love. The glaring thing is probably because people were staring at your ears, I know I do it all the time."

"...Excuse I think I need to lie down and cry a little."

-No because fer real it's so funny to think that the once snobbish Schneeblings are all ready to throw absolute h a n d s fer their new Faunus sister like, "Oh, you're a racist prick? Whitley, please call a paramedic because-" *gets into summoning form where Arma Gigas launches Winter at the asshole*

-Meanwhile instead of calling for medical staff to clean up the bloodbath that's about to ensue Whitley's just typing away on his scroll doxxing the shit outta the racist asshole's worst secrets and wow Blake feels so loved right now, like, kinda concerned, but very loved right now

-Anyways, it's funny to joke about Winter scolding Blake when she learns about her terrorist past, but overall after her growth in V8 I think she'd be more like, "While I still don't approve most of the stunts you pulled as a vigilante child, stealing from the hyper-exploiting SDC is... fairly understandable."

-After clearing the air about Blake's past, we get Winter being lowkey protective of Blake bc MANNN does that Eldest Daughter Older Sister Instinct ™ go crazyyyy sometimes like this shit does not discriminate. Winter sees a new younger sibling figure and BAM she's already taking the young Belladonna heir under her wing

-Blake has no idea how to handle having an older sibling figure looking out fer her because she grew up as an independent only child who could only count on herself. To make matters worse it's the eldest Schnee she was never personally close to now, uh, giving her almost backhanded compliments as advice fer fixing her form, suddenly popping up asking Blake if she's ate yet, small lectures on the importance of a balanced diet and how important it is that she takes care of herself, etc etc

-In the end, Blake can tell Weiss was right and these random interactions from Winter come from a genuine place of care and she's honestly super honored to be accepted as a younger sibling to the stern woman

-At one point, Winter asks Blake to spar with her because she wants to study her newest sibling's fighting style up close and personal and therefore assess any weaknesses she should strengthen. At first Winter's like "Oh she's mainly a sword user I'm an expert on swords alright I have a foundation on how to fight her" but then Blake switches over to chain scythe gun mode with her cleaver sheather in the other hand (see black trailer) and suddenly all that goes OUT THE WINDOW OKAY DANG

-I personally headcannon that Winter never really got to see Blake go all out in her fighting, and since Blake really wants to impress her new older sister she pulls out her best moves and tricks and Winter is really impressed!!! She still beats Blake bc she's a master huntsman with tonnnss of experience (not to mention maiden powers giving her boosted strength and endurance) but man she has never fought someone like her new sister before!! She's so!!! Versatile!! Especially with those dust infused clones that kept her guessing

-Winter doesn't outright say it but Blake can tell she's proud of her new sibling from that prideful glint in her eyes and wow okay is this how Ruby feels everytime Yang praises her because this feeling is GREAT

-Speaking of Yang, she teases Blake relentlessly at her becoming Winter's new target of Eldest Sister Protectiveness™ and Ruby joins in like, "Get used to it, Blake, trust me I'm the expert younger sibling here."

"Hey!!! I'm not as weird about it as Winter is!!"

"Uhhh huhh- WHA YANG AKFMAKFKQK!!"

-As Winter and Blake watch the Xiao Long-Rose sisters wrestle on the ground, the eldest Schnee daughter turns to her newest sibling and says, "While I accept you as my family, I don't believe our dynamic will ever reach that... level."

"Oh, agreed."

-Yang and Blake both being sisters to Weiss through relationships because I am a filthy, filthy Whiterose shipper. When the parents first told the gang that they were dating, Yang was like, "HAH! Sorry Blake, but imagine being a sister to the ice queen herself!" to which Blake just replied, "Uh, Yang..." and tosses a pointing thumb over to where Ruby is hugging and comforting a confused as all fuck Weiss with forehead kisses and everything and Yang is just like, "Damn, you got me there."

-(Weiss did come around to adoring the Pilfadonnas pretty quickly but she was just so confused and shocked at first like weiss.exe isn't working like my girl bluescreened so hard so just give her a minute to process please and thank you)

-What I'm saying is can we get Yang antagonizing Weiss on TWO (2!) separate fronts? "Hey you're dating my baby sister" shovel talk type shenanigans only turn around with such a shiteating grin that only "Hey I'm dating your sister and there's nothing you can do about it" bullshit can pull? Please? Suffering Weiss™ forever and ever

-But know what's better than Suffering Weiss™? Suffering Weiss™ AND Suffering Winter™ babbbyyy :DDD!!

-I really need Robyn teasing the utter shit outta Winter at how quickly she got attached to Blake in an Older Sister Must Protect™ way shortly after learning of her mother's relationship with Blake's parents. -To add to the Suffering Schneeisters Agenda™, we're going to move on to the Whitley and Blake potential in my Snowleopard rotted brain

-At first, Whitley is 'testing' Blake to see if she's worthy as a sister (he's actually just being a little shit and already knows of Blake's many merits) and Weiss is telling him to knock it off because bro is borderline ANTAGONIZING her to see what he can get away with

I just find it really curious why you shipped White Knight (Jaune/Weiss) of all things. What’s the appeal, if I may ask?

Okay, strap in.

I've been meaning to compile my varied thoughts about Whiteknight through the years, so this is my opportunity to do so.

First is this r/RWBY post, where a good number of people also chipped in their thoughts, so it's a good look of the general thought process for liking the ship.

Next is this comment I left on a Phoenix/Night video years ago:

I've always had a soft spot for White Knight. At the time, I saw Jaune and Ruby more as siblings and Jaune and Pyrrha as platonic partners, so that left Weiss. After Pyrrha's death I considered Arkos more, but I actually think that Pyrrha's death made White Knight more interesting. I imagine Weiss' respect for Jaune would keep growing, and seeing Jaune grieving would make her more sympathetic to him and grow more concerned for him. I imagine that eventually she would indeed garner romantic feelings for him, but feels like she should hide her feelings - partly out of awkwardness due to the way she treated him last time, and partly out of thinking that Jaune only had eyes for Pyrrha and would not choose her.

It's my headcanon, sure, but I think it adds a nice depth to Jaune and Weiss' relationship, because the tables would literally be turned and where once Jaune pined for Weiss, now Weiss pines for the now heroic and capable Jaune. It's not abrupt either, it's very much a slow burn. It still makes Pyrrha relevant because her memory lingers over the both of them, and Jaune getting together with Weiss would symbolise positive growth for both of them, a nice reversal of their initial relationship, and a good point for Jaune to move on from Pyrrha's death through Weiss.

Weiss had always felt superior to others. Sure now she considers her teammates and friends as equals, but I don't think she ever truly considers herself the one on the back foot. Her feeling she could never replace Pyrrha in Jaune's heart and just be the "second choice" - a combination of pride, pain from Pyrrha's death and condemning herself for having such selfish thoughts leading to not allowing herself to confront her feelings - is very interesting to me and I think has loads of potential to dive deep into both of their selves and what they truly feel for each other, confirming what has been ambiguously floating in the air all this time.

When it comes to Whiteknight, it hangs on my perception of Weiss, which I have two different branching headcanons of: If Pyrrha Died (canon-aligned) and If Pyrrha Lives (canon-divergent).

In a version of RWBY where Pyrrha dies, Whiteknight is my top choice for a Weiss ship, because Pyrrha's death is sort of the secret ingredient to making this ship a goldmine of emotions and drama to explore. The shared commiseration between Weiss and Jaune over Pyrrha being gone; their shared admiration of her and subsequent feelings of loss and shared recovery.

There is also the contrast between their dynamics pre- and post-Pyrrha. The sense of immature puppy love that Weiss has no patience for eventually growing into a very real, mature love borne out of familiarity, friendship and mutual respect and reliance on each other's strengths.

In a RWBY where Pyrrha lives, Whiteknight loses most of its sweet narrative juice for me and I start considering other ships for Weiss, like Monochrome or Freezerburn. I would also likely default to Arkos for Jaune in this scenario, but only really because it's a safe choice I can still find interest in.

There is also the weird canon meta surrounding WK's development, pointed out by someone's comment in the above r/RWBY post. Basically the idea that WK felt really awkward and forced, so RT kind of swept it under the rug and forgot about it, only to (perhaps inadvertently) slowly give Jaune and Weiss moments together that felt oddly genuine and natural - a far cry from how their relationship initially began.

Whiteknight though will always have a special little place for me, because there's just... so much to like about it.

It has a slow burn. It has shared angst over character death. Romantic reversal, unrequited love, moments of epiphany about how much has changed between them and within themselves... It 's a fanfiction paradise.

And while yeah, the initial stages of their relationship are not great and pretty embarrassing to watch, the cringe parts somehow make the latter stages even more of a fun surprise to watch unfold. The fact that they can feasibly transition from friends to lovers with barely any effort now, when such a thing would be unthinkable back then... There is a charm to its matter-of-factness that can only be earned with time.

As someone who's watched RWBY in my late teens-early twenties and now watching it as an adult, Whiteknight feels like a ship that grew alongside its audience, and I think a lot of other WK shippers can attest to this.

Really enjoyed one of ur last asks, as a Yang Stan first and human second, I think people need to stop putting Yang and Ruby always on each other plots cuz while their traumas are intertwined, their arcs are not and that annoys me so much!

Ruby deserves her time to shine! And the only way we will get Yang go to head with Summer is for Ruby to do so!

Younger siblings tend (not always!) to make a stop with family trauma fastest than their oldest siblings, so let's focus on our little woof woof (Ruby).

Like, it's mostly a matter of them being characters and not real people. Yes Yang is Summer's daughter and this would have a complex relationship with her that is different than Ruby's and would be interesting to explore. But Summer is not Yang's parallel. When it comes to character arcs, to personal motivations and themes, Yang should not be the one to meet Summer first.

It's like saying Ruby and Raven would be more interesting to explore because of Raven's complicated past with Summer. Yes that would be cool to see their interactions play out, but Raven is Yang's personal antagonist. Above all else her story with Yang should be prioritized.

Or you know, it's like saying Weiss should have fought Adam with Blake instead of Yang. It's an insistence that completely ignores character development and the themes of Blake and Yang's relationship just because they think Weiss didn't know how bad the SDC was.

Just. Let Ruby and Yang be individual characters lmao.

Willow: Well, It seems like your having fun bonding with your new siblings~!

Winter: The two are really sweet to be around. But, they are quite devious, especially, Jaune. Together they are a menace, on their own. Well, if you messed with, Jeanne, she would shove your head through a wall. If you messed with, Jaune though; Well he would spike your drink with laxatives, lock the door to the bathroom, and by the time you finally manage to get unlock the door, he smashed the toilet to bits.

Willow: R-Really?

Winter: Yes, Jaune is quite… Vindictive…

Willow: Well, if that’s how he fights, he might be able to deal with, Jacques quite swiftly… and, brutally…

Winter: Quite so. I can see why your so happy now, Mom… They make me feel quite happy to. Jeanne’s actually coming with us to, Atlas when we leave.

Willow: Really, why is she?

Winter: Well, Jaune is leaving soon to, Vale for an internship. So, Jeanne is coming with me to, Atlas where she will be my protégé for a few years. She will be training with me to become a, Huntress. I’m looking forward to it actually.

Willow: I’m happy to hear that. Coming here to be with the, Arc’s… Makes me wish I told them years ago I was pregnant with you. Acheius would have stolen me away, and brought me here, and made me his second wife. Where would have raised a large family together. I would be so happy together with them.

Blacksun

Sun’s not a big reader, but has absolutely no qualms letting Blake lean back against his chest while she sits and reads. Sometimes he’ll make her tea and wrap themselves up in blankets while she does this. Sun typically ends up falling asleep like this.

Sun likes to bring home books that he’s heard would be right up Blake’s alley. Blake has asked him to stop for a while cause she has a whole pile she’s trying to get through now. She looks at the pile and smiles though because she knows it’s only because he was thinking of her.

Let’s be honest… Sun does not give off good cook vibes. And Blake likely only learned basics just to survive. When they have time off of missions, they go to cooking classes together.

Building off the cooking classes, Blake feels bad because she thinks she doesn’t do enough for Sun. So she’s trying to learn how to cook his favorite foods, she’s just not very good yet. Sun’s fine with it, he insists her being safe and happy is more than enough for him.

When they topic of having kids comes up, Blake is uncertain about if she could be a good mother. Sun doesn’t push but does assure her that when she’s ready, she would be a great mother. Eventually they have Mika Wukong, a raccoon Faunus.

Rosegarden

Oscar is 100% a great cook and Ruby is definitely a great baker. They aren’t professionals or anything but their house has a special kitchen with multiple ovens. They move around eachother in the kitchen like a well choreographed dance.

Both were pretty awkward at first when it came to displays of affection, and honestly still are. Oscar will kiss Ruby’s cheek and she’ll be a blushing mess. Ruby will hold his hand and he’ll instantly be flustered.

Their dates consist of lots of outdoors stuff. Hiking, camping, picnics, etc.

While Sun gets Blake physical books, because that’s what Blake prefers, Ruby prefers audio books since Yang always read to her as a kid. Oscar got her a kindle one year for her birthday and a handful of money earned from their missions goes directly to new books. She’ll play the books while her and Oscar cook and bake.

In combat, they fight together like a well oiled machine and cover each other’s weaknesses. At home, it’s the exact same. Jaune does most of the housework but isn’t real good when it comes to finances. Weiss is smart as a whip at finances but is terrible at housework. Weiss does help Jaune where she can though, and vice versa.

Weiss is absolutely not a morning person, but Jaune is. She stumbled out of bed once at 4am to Jaune doing workouts.

Jaune cannot make coffee to save his life, but Weiss somehow always makes the best tasting coffee he’s ever had.

Weiss has no interest in living in a large house full of empty space, and due to Atlas falling, her and Jaune built their house together, perfect size for just the two of them.

From Weiss’ experience growing up and Jaune growing in a house filled with siblings, neither are in a rush to have children… not that they’re opposed to the idea should something unplanned happen. And it does. Weiss becomes determined to give it the childhood she was robbed of. She hopes if they have multiple, they’ll get along better than her, Winter, and Whitley did growing up.

Okay so how exactly do I start this umm this is my first official RWDE post like ever that isn't a reblog off another post so bear with me I am going to be tagging people I follow because I want to hear their thoughts and open a dialogue @kitkatopinions @itsclydebitches @ironwoodprotectionsquad @rwbyconversations @rosekushina @bad-food-sells-burgers @rwde-chibi @dragynkeep

First and foremost I've had no interest in volume 9 I don't know why but I was more invested in volume 7 then v9 I thought volume 7 first to second half was mid and boring. From what I've heard volume 9 is poorly written after seeing criticism for it and watching the episodes yeah I can see why the majority of the volume feels like filler

Personal feelings aside I have a question why was Weiss Blake and Yang and jaune in this volume legitimately why were they there one of the writers I believe Eddie talked about how this volume was about failure and self acceptance basically this is supposed to be Ruby volume the one where she finally develops for the longest time Ruby always felt underdeveloped .

So wouldn't make more sense if this volume only had Ruby fall in the ever after let this be a character study of Ruby centering her as the main protagonist for this volume

Weiss Blake Yang and jaune all had character arcs Weiss learning to break away from her father Blake learning running from your problems doesn't help Yang learning to get her spark back all happened in volume, 4

Jaune learned to grieve phyrra death for three volumes

Ruby never had a character arc so for a volume that should be about failure Ruby should be the only one there narrative wants you to believe Ruby feels underwhelmed by the responsibilities of others the one to always come up with the plans Ruby has always been the one with the most moral compass out everyone what if Ruby question her morality questioned if she was right or wrong questioned if ironwood was right dealing with the fall of beacon not just atlas

In my volume 9 rewrite ( more like a rough outline) Ruby fall through the void with neo

Now why neo well volume 9 neo doesn't feel like a character in fact neo in general doesn't feel like a character neo is only popular because of her design semblance and fighting style. V9 neo is a plot device so Ruby can unlive herself neo wanting revenge for Roman is never explored because the show never explored either of their characters why does neo feel so strong for Roman all of these questions are answered in a book that is never truly addressed in the show in my v9 rewrite

Neo is told by Ruby herself she didn't kill romen I always found it odd how neo was so quick to believe cinder like cinder is more likely to kill romen then Ruby ever could

.the two are forced to work together to put aside their differences to help each other out

.I also toyed with the idea of neo and Ruby sort of leaning on each other in a sense that they learned to be more open with each other and sort of learning to cope with one another

I would also introduce Alex and Louise changed their stories to my knowledge of the volume it never explains how the twins ended up in the ever after I would have it to where tht twins were being evacuated and because of cinder the siblings fall into the void

I would also provide proper characterization of the twins Louis is a silver eyed who was being forced to become a huntsmen by his father who's also a silver eyed warrior Louis was a prodigy and natural gifted he is considered to be a model student and son

But Louis never wanted to be a huntsman he doesn't like fighting I like the idea that he always wanted to be a make-up artist but his father saw it as too feminine Louis from an early age had toxic masculinity placed on him

Alex wasn't a silver eyed warrior she was more like a tomboy and liked to do boy things but since they grew up in Atlas that was seen as weird and unladylike she wasn't considered talented at all and her father never really bonded with her favouring Alex

.I like to think Alex resented Louis for being the favorite I also imagine that she was to be married off to a wealthy family basically Alex was kinda like Weiss but worse she had no real freedom

The twins meet Ruby and neo I imagine that Louis and Ruby feel a connection as silver eyed warriors

I would also change the jabberwalker to be the main antagonist with intelligence manipulating the cat to do its dirty work befriending the group picking them apart starting with Alex who i feel wouldn't want to leave the ever after because of the freedom it grants her

So yeah this is my sorta rewrite of volume 9 it's a rough outline but I am interested in seeing how others feel about this or how they would rewrite volume 9
