I'll share just three of my many favourites sdnldng most of them are the ones we can't talk about yet when they appear in later seasons / sagas, so I'll mention the ones who are known in the series ( which, thank you so much for the kind words about it!!! 💖 )

་ ، 𖥔 VICE HEAD ST. ANGELPARADOX, known as the Semi-order 4 Vice Head of Break Beyond Force's main " Kaleidom " division. Most blunt and private as he very rarely express his emotions, it's rather common for the younger Antigods and even older ones to be intimidated by his anti presence that is generally described to be overwhelming to bear, which, Micah is the only BBF Saint who is not affected by his anti energy. Is considered to be the black sheep of the Break Beyond Force while most unaffiliated and Force Saints are suspicious of him. Extremely powerful and skilled at fighting with fists or his walking cane, very rarely uses his Techne, which is rumored that he can manipulate time and space. Have an Eyes of God despite being blind when blind Theoculus users can usually no longer have the power in their eyes be activated. I don't trust this bitch either and neither should you.

་ ، 𖥔 DETECTIVE MYSTER STRANGE, also known as the first Antigod to exist, originally the first Fallen Angel and Risen Demon. Is extremely powerful than what most think of xem to be due to xyr infinite silliness, but, somehow, xe just is. Once nihilistic to the core after xe Fell, though, now, xe loves and appreciates the universe for being strange and wonderful. Loves to engage in general arts and solve every forms of mystery, but often does them in xyr own most chaotic and unpredictable ways. It is rumored that xe is one of the very few Antigods who had visited our / the Audience's world. 95% of the Antigodeus society hates xem while about every Break Beyond Force Head is beyond ( hahah ) annoyed with xem, but xe doesn't ever give a shit. Xe's just a silly little guy ( gn ) who simply wanna have fun before the world ends itself. I love Strange so much, xe's truly a silly little fella who deserves to be a chaotic menace.

་ ، 𖥔 OPHIS COSMOBOROS, also known as the Ophiuchus constellation that was fallen to Earth, after it attempted to end the Solaris Kingdom / Solar System as an ally to the Draco constellation. Was responsible for million deaths of stars and planets across the Solaris Kingdom from creating the black hole entities. Was terribly envious and bitter of the fact it couldn't be a Starknight ( as achieving Demigodhood ) along with the other twelve constellations as a Sagittarius constellation took over its House, hence the deal with Draco to assist him consume celestial parts of Solaris Kingdom whole for the power. On Earth, it's a travelling healer with very little understanding in why humanity is important and how it is still alive when they're always giving themselves reasons to kill each other. I've never really have a loved character who is a pathetic meow meow until I realized Ophis is exactly that and I love it so badly.

The Purple Cloak (Merlin fic)

Arthur looked up, hopeful, as Merlin entered, carrying the cloak that he had laid on his bed in his absence. He had put a lot of thought into the gift; Merlin travelled everywhere with them, and his coat was truly not warm enough. Surely this would be acceptable: a warm, fur lined cloak, gorgeous royal purple in colour to differentiate him from the red of the knights? Perhaps it had been going a little far to give it that amythyst and gold clasp, but it had seemed so perfectly matched at the time, and if Arthur wanted to give Merlin something beautiful – well, was he not the King?

But as he saw Merlin’s expression, his heart fell. Merlin’s blue eyes were serious and sad.

“Arthur, I can’t accept this. It’s too much.”

“It’s just a cloak,” Arthur protested weakly, waving a hand as if he could wave Merlin’s objections aside. As if that had ever worked.

“It’s beautiful.” And Merlin meant it; although Arthur had learnt, painfully, that Merlin could, in fact, lie well on some occasions, it was nonetheless true that in many ways he was still the easy-to-read young man Arthur had always believed him to be. His face, and the way, when he said the words, he could not prevent himself from stroking the cloak, made it clear that he liked it, even as he placed it gently on Arthur’s bed.

“Then -”

“But it’s far too good for the likes of me.”

“Nothing is too good for you,” Arthur said, getting up and placing his hands on Merlin’s shoulders, looking into his lover’s eyes.

Merlin gave him that daft grin. “I’m just a servant.”

“I’d give you lands, titles, you know that,” Arthur said desperately. “Anything you want, I would give you.”

“I need to be by your side, to protect you,” Merlin said patiently, his hands coming up to clasp Arthur’s face. “I can’t do that if I have lands. I’d need to be there to look after them. And a title, I could hardly be in here all the time, dressing you, standing at your side. I don’t need anything. Honestly, Arthur, you don’t need to give me things.”

“It’s just,” Arthur said, the words dragging out of him with the agony of honesty, “you give me everything. You’ve saved my life, I do not even know how many times. You serve me, and never ask for glory or even recognition. You offer me your loyalty, and your magic in my service, as the most powerful warlock to walk the earth. “And what can I give you in return save the cares of a kingdom and the insults of those who do not understand how important you are to me? Who see you only as the servant you claim yourself as, instead of the most valuable person in my life? Just...” He tore himself away from Merlin, going to the bed and lifting a corner of the cloak dismissively before tossing it aside. “trinkets. Material things. And those you will not accept.”

“Arthur.” Merlin’s voice was low as he followed the King across the room. Arthur sat on the bed, the rejected cloak pushed away behind him. Merlin went down on one knee, taking Arthur’s hand between both of his. “Arthur, don’t you understand that you give me the most precious gift there is, every day? When you give yourself? Your love, your trust, your loyalty. That you did not turn on me when I revealed my magic, that you still managed to forgive me for my lies, and still care for me…” There were tears in Merlin’s eyes as he looked up at Arthur, and he looked down, as if worried that Arthur would tease him for them. If he had looked a moment longer, Arthur thought, he might have noticed that Arthur’s own eyes were none too dry. “You give me you, Arthur; and that is all I could ask for. It is all I ever want.”

Arthur could not speak. His throat seemed to have closed up, while his heart beat twice as fast. For no one, ever, had wanted Arthur. Not for himself. Just what what, or who, he was. Even his father had wanted him as Uther’s son, Prince Arthur – not as Arthur Pendragon, the boy and then the man. How could Merlin, who Arthur had sometimes treated with such dismissiveness (Arthur was many things, but he knew his own faults more clearly than he knew anything else), say that Arthur was a gift worth having? Merlin, king of the Druids, powerful sorcerer, and friend to all. Unlike Arthur, who, however hard he tried, found it difficult to allow himself to be true friends with anyone save Merlin, too strongly had his father’s strict lessons of discipline and never letting himself be vulnerable sunk in. Arthur kept his vulnerability deep inside, protecting it with a veneer of cold arrogance, and if that did not work, with heated anger. Only Merlin had wormed his way through all of those defences.

“Arthur?” Merlin asked softly.

“How can you?” Arthur choked out.

“Because you are worth it.” Merlin saw the tears, and did not judge. Instead he lifted himself to Arthur’s side, kissing the tears away. “You are caring and kind; you care for your people above yourself; you are loyal and honest and trustworthy. You see the best in others and make them strive to do their best for you. Arthur, you are all that is good in this world – even if you’re also a prat and a clotpole at times,” he added, with a half-smile.

Arthur’s arms went around Merlin. “I don’t deserve you,” he mumbled into Merlin’s chaos of hair.

“No, you deserve better, but you’re not having it. You’re stuck with me now,” Merlin said cheerfully.

“Yes. Please.” Arthur lifted his head to look at Merlin, following his lead and trying to lighten the mood, aware that he'd wiped his tears away on Merlin's shirt. “But let me get you a new cloak of some sort, Merlin. Otherwise you’ll freeze to death, and I don’t want to be stuck to an icicle.”

Merlin laughed out loud at that. “All right, clotpole,” he said – and Merlin was definitely the only person in the world who could make that so-called world sound like an endearment. “But a little less… purple this time, okay?”

UPDATES - Current Projects!

Hi, all! It’s been a hot minute since I really said much here. Let me elaborate on why.

Here are only some of the big things I have in the works! A long post follows...

1. Wulfgard: The Curse of Ankhu - novella series

First up, something I posted a preview for a while back: a trilogy of novellas (that I would later publish as a collection in the form of a single novel) set in Wulfgard and starring a character heretofore unseen in my writing: Djedar Rath. And set in the realm of Kemhet (heavily inspired by ancient Egypt), so much unlike my other publications in that way, too.

A synopsis:

Deep in the mysterious desert of the Red Land, Deshret, lies an ancient tomb, the resting place of one of the greatest evils the world has ever known: Pharaoh Ankhu the Endless. Long did he reign and oppress the people of the Black Land, Kemhet. So great and terrible was his power that the gods themselves descended, defeating and cursing him, burying him in foreign land in a labyrinth never to be found by mortals.

Now Ankhu rises again with each darkening of the moon, a walking mummy, searching for that which he may never find… his own still-beating heart, denying him passage into the afterlife. Over untold ages, Ankhu’s tomb remained undiscovered, a secret protected always by the loyal Medjay, an order serving the many pharaohs of Kemhet who came after.

But now a new threat has arisen— Lord Tefnahkt the Red, cultist and warlock, drives his many slaves to uncover Ankhu’s resting place, unlock his evil power, and once more unleash him upon the world. While a small group of Medjay work to stop Tefnahkt’s plans, one slave may become the key to stopping Tefnahkt – and putting an end to his and Ankhu’s evil once and for all.

In a race against time, five Medjay and the rebellious slave Djedar Rath must stop Tefnahkt from opening the tomb before the coming of the new moon, when Pharaoh Ankhu the Endless will awaken once more… for if he escapes, the world will never survive his wrath.

Expect to see the first novella released very soon!

2. Wulfgard: Knightfall - novel revision

In 2015, I published my first book: The Prophecy of the Six: Knightfall, the main series set in mine and my brother’s world of Wulfgard. Well, now I’m revisiting it, expanding it, revising it, and turning it into something truly epic as I prepare to continue writing the Prophecy series: the main thing I want to do with my life (short of filmmaking). Although it is also many other things, this is what you could call my “werewolf series.” Here is the synopsis:

Sir Thomakos “Tom” Drake is a knight of the Achaean frontier city of Illikon. Together with his close friends and fellow soldiers, he wants only to protect his city and its people from any who would threaten them. But the Achaean Empire to which they swear loyalty is always seeking out new conflicts that put his city in danger.

When Sir Scaevius, Left Hand of the Emperor, arrives in Illikon to recruit Sir Drake to help fight the massing barbarian alliance to the North, Drake has no choice but to obey. But he does not obey without protest, and soon he finds himself fighting not only the barbarians, but his own superiors as well. Meanwhile, strange things begin happening to him. He suffers blackouts, and at night he is plagued by terrifying nightmares. Even worse, he finds himself being stalked by horrific monsters... werewolves. Hated by his superiors, hunted by beasts and assassins, Tom Drake must fight for his home, his life, and even his mind. The events that are about to unfold will change his life, and the world, forever.

More info on this later! I truly hope you’ll give Knightfall a chance when the revision is completed. This series comprises the stories absolutely nearest and dearest to my heart. They, above all else, are the tales I want most to tell - and the thing I absolutely must create and share with the world - before I leave this earth.

3. Werewolf Facts: A Guidebook to Folklore vs Pop Culture - folklore book

So there’s a project I announced a while back, which is a published book edition of my Werewolf Facts I’ve written and posted on the blog here. I am very much still planning to do that, and I’ve been working on it! This will be a compilation of my werewolf facts, but each one will also be expanded and come with full citations, as well as a bibliography, expanded comments, and much more. Stay tuned for news on this book, too!

4. Revamping my personal website + general promotion of my existing work

So my personal website is pretty hideous; that’s a fact. One of my other projects right now is to revamp my personal site completely - again - and make it prettier, more accessible, easier to navigate, and do a better job of presenting my books and werewolf facts, along with my other work.

I also want to promote my work in general, and that’s something I’ve been working on and researching. My personal scoop: promoting completely original work is exhausting, disheartening, and grueling - you put your soul out there and, by and large, no one cares; at the most you’ll get a pat on the head and a ‘nice job’ because it’s cute that you’re trying, I guess. I’ve been working at this literally since my childhood, so I’m intimately familiar with how bad putting your work out there can make you feel.

So I suck at promotion! That’s just an issue with me. It’s something I want to work on. I’m currently investigating avenues of doing so, such as posting my writing on more places across the internet, different publishers, and different sites and communities for me to hang out on and spread the word about my creations. If you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know! I’d appreciate it. I really do want to promote my stuff better, but I’m just not that good at it. I’d rather just be working on the thing itself, instead, but at some point you have to stop and promote.

5. Werewolf Facts on Twitter

Werewolf Facts’ original home was on Tumblr, and they also live on my personal website, but I’d like to expand their reach, too. So I’m hoping to start posting a werewolf fact as a twitter thread every week for a while, starting next week. These will be semi-condensed editions of the werewolf facts you know here on my tumblr.

6. Making custom LEGO figures & experimenting with other things

I’m always making custom LEGO ‘figs, even if I’m super slow at it. I hope to have more Wulfgard ones around soon, as well as maybe some Nova Refuge, and maybe even some builds/models.

You probably saw me post my Shazam! Fury of the Gods fig recently:

I absolutely loved that movie beyond words, by the way. It reached deep into my soul and awoke something in me again that I honestly kind of feared I had lost or was coming dangerously close to losing. Watch it in theaters if you can still find it - if not, watch it at home. Trust me. It’s worth it.

Getting back on track: I’m only just starting to finally find the courage to start chasing my true and ultimate dream, too. It’s something I have wanted to do for as long as I can remember, but I’ve never known how. I had pretty much given up hope, too, short of a miracle, because I am broke and simply don’t have the means to put myself in any kind of position to enter that world. Well, I’ve found new inspiration recently. I’m not ready to talk about it yet, but let’s just say I am feeling good about the future and starting to dip my toes into the extremely amateur edition of what I want to do. I should’ve done it years ago, but I can’t change that, so I’m gonna do it now. More on that later.

7. Resuming work on Nova Refuge (sci-fi) novels & novellas

A few years ago, I started working in earnest on a sci-fi series called Song of the Stars. That is still very much a thing, and I hope to start publishing the series as novellas soon, as I have enough content written - and some of it even edited, too - to compose several books. Song was always intended to be me trying out a sort of traditional TV show formula, with each novella being a stand-alone “episode” that can also be experienced as a chronological series. I still love Song and I’m very proud of all the work I did on it, and I look forward to sharing it with you in the coming year or two.

I’m also working on a brand new book that is set in Nova Refuge but is extremely cyberpunk in nature, as cyberpunk has always been one of my favorite genres for a million reasons. I’m very excited about this story, and I’ve been working hard on it every weekend for a few weeks now. I’m making fantastic progress, so expect to hear more about it very soon!

8. Running my Patreon

So hey, you know that Patreon thing I run? That’s the best place to get the latest updates from me. I keep that thing updated as best I can. And I am always trying to provide content to my patrons and keep everybody happy and rewarded for showing me so much generous support. I run polls there about what everyone would like to see from me, discuss my writing, my research, and much more. I also post previews of my upcoming work.

I also have been posting a very silly and just-for-fun story there periodically, once a week, for all my Lunatic patrons. My lunatic tiers are my weirder/crazier writing and stuff that will never see the light of day in terms of publishing it as/in any kind of book. The story in question will never leave my Patreon, in fact. I write these always rough draft “lunatic writings” as warm-up sessions to other writing sessions on my major projects or as something just for fun for me to cool down on my day off every week. Feel free to ask me about details regarding Lunatic tiers!

9. Publishing a hardcover edition of The Werewolf: Past and Future

So you know that book I published a while back, the book edition of my master’s thesis? The Werewolf: Past and Future - Lycanthropy’s Lost History and Modern Devolution. It has done some pretty wild sales ever since I published it despite only having 14 ratings!

I’d like to have a hardcover edition available on Amazon, too. It’s on my backburner, so it might not happen anytime terribly soon, but it is on my list and I’d like to get around to that sometime, because I know a lot of people really like hardcover books, and I’d love to see what the hardcover publication is like on Amazon. It’d be my first time checking it out, and it’s something I’d like to investigate for my future books, too.

10. Resuming Vampire Facts!?

I might! It might happen! I still see several in my drafts that I am no longer so exhausted and discouraged about. We’ll see if/when that happens and how it’ll work later on sometime, but you might just see folklore posts resume on this blog sometime later this year or next year - or at some random time earlier, we’ll see.

Whew! And I think that’s quite enough of just a few of the things I’ve been doing since I stopped posting my regular folklore/werewolf/vampire facts. As you can see, I have a very full plate! And I’m actually a really slow eater. No, really, I am. It’s pretty ironic, I know, for those of you familiar with some of the weirder things I like. Anyway--

I’m working as hard as I can go on everything and I’ve actually been writing up a storm. I have an entire novella series ready to be published once they’re done with my editor and artist. I actually have a backlog of books to pester those who work with me because I’ve been writing so fast, and I don’t want to pressure anyone to try to keep up with my insanity.

Fury of the Gods (the movie that breathed new life into me and revitalized my soul; a lightning bolt of inspiration in every sense of the phrase, I love it with all my heart, and it reminded me that there is good in this world and it’s worth fighting for)... we’ll see what happens with that.

What do you think about Merlins characterisation?

Two Main thoughts I'd have to say.

A Tragic Hero (Aristotelian)

Merlin comes from simple beginnings, being raised in a small town/village of Ealdor, a border village in a Kingdom that probably would have seen him dead or enslaved. He would have been needing to keep a lower profile, despite sticking out in his youth due to his overwhelming amount of magic. This is evident when we see Ealdor and how they react to him, the waryness, the things Will says when he returns ("your kind"). I'm unsure if living in Camelot is better, but at least he began learning to control his magic.

Merlin has the makings of a true hero, intelligent, brave, cunning, and not at all cowardly, he tries to protect everyone he can, and as an added bonus, he has powerful magic, 'the greatest warlock to walk the earth' is quite the title. However, Merlin is a tragic hero, a concept that I believe is first introduced by Aristotle, in which the character experiences not adversity as a challenge but fortune, changing from good to bad, as we can see with Merlin's fortune (or luck) slowly dwindling with misfortune is a result of an error of judgment, not from vice/depravity, a hero that is virtuous but not "good" [Notable examples similar might be Othello, Macbeth, or Eddard Stark in GoT]. Merlin's error of judgment comes in with paranoia that grows throughout the series.

Which is fair. Since he was young he must have known that the gifts he held could be fatal. It certaintly wasn't uncommon to hear of hangings or burnings I'd imagine, especially since they were near the border. Merlin's character gets darker the further the show progresses. 'Ray of Sunshine' is definitelly something I could see describing the earlier seasons, but he becomes distrustful and suspicious of everyone, even those he has no reason to mistrust.

Emrys

This Merlin is also, while set up to be the strongest 'Merlin', quite possibly the 'weakest' next to 'Mad-man Myrddin in the woods'. The most similar would be Malory's Merlin which combined the previous versions into one, he could shapeshift, could control the elements, alter reality (or the perception of it), read what was in someone's heart and their true desires (Lucifer style I imagine but with less lusty focuses), and a powerful seer and enchanter.

The Merlin we see in the show has, from the very beginning moments of magic, powerful magic. He stops time completely when Gaius falls. The entire room just freezes, then later in the same episode it is this instinctual time magic that slows down the dagger that Merlin can pull Arthur from its trajectory. And yet, I don't think we ever see this magic again. Merlin certaintly isn't a shapeshifter. He isn't altering perceptions of reality. He can kinda read thoughts but only if this is a physical druidic thought-conversation, and we only see him control lightning in pure rage (Nimueh) and in the final battle. There are, certaintly, some very impressive bits of magic that we get to witness, but nothing that shows him as powerful as he could have been.

That moment when you kinda of have to abort part of your plan for things that will happen™ because you may have made the plot kidnap the boyfriend and fiancee of the most powerful warlock to ever walk the earth (And also his Dragon Son) and he just snapped. And realized certain things he could do. YEaaaaaah this is not gonna go well for the enemy that was always the plan. But I did want one more obsticle/encounter. We're not having one last obstacle/encounter.

Uther: that is terrible. We must find a way to reverse it.

Arthur: well, it appears my manservant somehow escaped the truth serum deal. He keeps saying atrocious lies.

Merlin: hi. My name is Emrys, has anyone seen Gaius? I need him to help me stop telling everyone I'm the most powerful warlock who ever walked the earth. I have to reverse this magical illness with my own Impossible magic somehow.

Uther: is he deranged?

Arthur: he likes making fun of the situation.

Uther: for that alone I should get him executed. But he's kinda adorable.

Arthur: yeah, i feel that. I'll take him to Gaius. Maybe we can figure out how to reverse it.
