Emrys observed Arthur Pendragon from afar for several years and was fascinated. How is he so golden and adored? How does he still have faith in the people around him after being betrayed by everyone around him except his sister? How does he manage to get back up after each defeat? Emrys is curious, which is already incredible in itself since he has lived for so long that nothing now makes him curious anymore. And Arthur is also about to be betrayed by his uncle Agravaine and perhaps it will be the last time Arthur will be able to get up after a defeat. Emrys does not intend for that to happen. Arthur now has Emrys and Morgana to watch his back. He has Emrys and Morgana allying themselves with each other and killing and interrogating anyone who tries to harm a single hair on Arthur's head. Arthur finally succeeds in building the Camelot he has always dreamed of. Arthur is the Golden King. Emrys and Morgana make sure this never changes.

Well, after many research on ao3 for very specific kind of fic I guess I will have to make my own food.

Hopefully I won’t forget and write the fic but : post canon AU where Arthur, Gwen (*insert awkwardness of Arthur finding out he was in love with Merlin in the last ep and Gwen trying to break the new that she and Leon got married + Lancelot in the background *) and the knights come back but like… 300ish years after their time and like. They get caught with a group of strangers by *insert guys who were ‘just’ doing ‘mildly’ illegal magic things but Arthur &Co walked into it so they caught them*

Anyway, Arthur Gwen and the knights are like stressed + trying to find out what is happening (while being in a cave and chained. What a way to come back to life—)

Meanwhile the others people who got cough a bit after and are now with them are like

My man want to retire but the 2 first heir just… fucked off to live their lives add the fact that after 60 years people are like ‘another king ??? Wtf that one is very good’ + very few actual heir + magical being not giving a fuck about mortal king and only listening to Ermys and you get an unwilling warlock doing State paperwork for a century

(Arthur new found queerness is making hard to fonction in these conditions)

at the grove with dark urge emrys and I have GOT to say. sticking to keeping her a paladin (of vengeance here) was such a moment. still getting all the flavor text as a paladin but having none of your memories might feel like a slight incoherence in the narrative to most but the idea of waking up and nothing but blood blood blood. and this deep in your bones knowledge that you swore an oath at some point in your past and you must adhere to it. sexy as fuck.

IDK how much you know about D&D, I just want to put this out there bc it's hilarious to me.

Throughout the whole show, Merlin is called a warlock, and is the only one called that, but there's no explanation given as to why.

In D&D, a warlock gets their power from their patron, sometimes a god. And one of the gods in the D&D pantheon?

What is it about black haired blue/green eyed characters that have such a choke hold on me. They are literal fucking powerhouses but also have so much trauma and hurt and they just deserve so much better.

Dick Grayson? The first Robin, trained by Batman and literally everyone bc everyone likes him, and has successfully led multiple teams. But so much fucking trauma that he just pushed down and then it never mentioned again. Like losing his parents, getting fired and kicked out, tarantula, blockbuster, spyral, Ric, etc. and still being good. Deserves Better

Damian Wayne? Same thing he is a machine. Trained in the league and raised to kill but so much trauma. The way he became that machine, killed by his clone, the loss of Alfred, etc. Deserves Better

Merlin? Emrys? Most powerful warlock to ever live. Saved Arthur’s life for years without anyone’s knowledge. Could literally do anything that was needed all in secret. Like being hurt but still keeping up the the Dolma disguise and summoning the white goddess. The entire battle of Camlann when he gets his powers back. A fucking dragon lord. Buts still lives in fear of his best friend finding out he has magic and since it’s illegal being killed. The weight of the prophecy. The knowledge of what Morgana and Mordred turn into. The deaths of everyone starting with Will and ending with Arthur the one person he swore to always protect. Let’s not forget that he is still waiting for his return. Deserves Better

Percy Jackson? A child of the big three. One of the most powerful demigods ever and the best swordsman in the last hundred years aside from Luke. Erupted Mt. St Helens, made a hurricane in the middle of NY, defeat Ares and Hades, got the curse of Achilles, defeated Titans, gods, and giants. Hero of Olympus. But so much trauma. Gabe, his first quest at 12 years old, a war before 16, being the child of the prophecy, losing his memories and still going on a quest, being part of another prophecy, and let’s not forget that he fell in Tartarus and faced Tartarus himself. Deserves Better

Honorable mention: Sam Winchester? Saved the world multiple times, never seems to stay dead, one of the two best hunters, stopped the apocalypse, and defeated literal god. But so much trauma. The way he was raised, getting out and them back in bc hid girlfriend was killed, died, came back, tried to stop his brother from going to hell, failed and watched him die via hellhound, hooked on demon blood, let out Lucifer, hopped into the cage with Lucifer and Micheal, his body came back soulless so his soul was in hell for years bc time runs differently in hell, gets soul back but it counts with hallucinations, dies so many times, watched so many people die and so much more. The Winchesters in general go through so much shit. Deserves Better
