Okay! You asked for it lol.

I should start by saying that I'm an August Leo sun. Stede is a July Leo, as confirmed by the show:

July Leos are...different somehow? It's not a bad thing and it's not their fault, and if anybody else comes for them we August Leo's will throw down for our siblings, but there's something about the vibes! Maybe it's the Cancer proximity, idk. If anything my anecdata suggests that they're more well adjusted than the rest of us. 🦁❤️🦁

Anyway, I immediately sat up and noticed when they cut to the gravestones because it's second nature for me as an Astrology Gay. Obviously I didn't know Stede at the time and I don't actually know what went down as the character was developed, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if I learned that at least one person in the writers room was a fellow Astrology Gay.

So I completely forgot about his birthdate because a) ADHD and b) swooniest romance I'd ever seen, but I started thinking about it again when I showed up like a year late to the fandom and saw people talk about whether they were Ed coded or Stede coded. I am heavily, heavily Stede coded for neurodivergent reasons, but he also exhibits certain Very Leo traits that I recognized immediately.

Leo stereotypes:

Let's get the stereotypes out of the way because while they do apply sometimes (especially for Stede), there's no need to rehash them in detail.

Leadership, which he struggles with at first but a) takes up the mantle of it anyway and b) improves enough that by the end of the season the crew that wanted to mutiny saves his life.

Good hair. Nuff said.

The man has an auxiliary wardrobe for fucks sake.

His "theatrical instincts are finely honed" and while Izzy says it to encourage the fuckery, it's not a lie.

The Revenge

If an 18th century Leo was going to custom build a pirate ship and money was no object, they would 1000% build the Revenge. I could see arguing that a Taurus might build something similar, but honestly I'm not sure a Taurus would become a pirate by choice. Maybe a Taurus might build like, a pleasure yacht or something. A Libra might build a ship that's as good-looking as the Revenge but sharing expensive tastes isn't enough to convince me either. Stede's money allowed him to build and decorate luxuriously, but plenty of rich people used to comfort didn't have ships like the Revenge. As Nigel says during his tour, it's just so incredibly him.

Now for some feelings stuff:

Leos love it when other people are happy, and when we can be involved in fostering that at all for people we care about we are ON IT. Stede wants to create space for others to get what they need to make that happen. Literally in the first episode he talks about the Revenge as somewhere for his crew to work on their trauma and communicate their feelings.

The above is also an extension of Stede's instinctive generosity. Canon doesn't tell us where Ed got his clothes for the French boat party in episode 5, but given that Stede has an auxiliary wardrobe (which he shared with Ed almost immediately) the most likely scenario seems like he loaned (or maybe even gave!) it to Ed. Another possibility is that it was on the ship where Frenchie found his and Oluwande's outfits, but the purple jacket in particular seems very extra in a way that says "Stede" to me.

Speaking of episode 5, let's talk about the party game. Obviously the main takeaway is that Stede has enough of a handle on passive aggression to make the French assholes tear each other apart, but it's not just the passive aggression, it's in the delivery. With sufficient motivation (Ed's hurt feelings, if not his own) we see Stede command the room with confidence. He chooses his targets well. He knows just what to say to get them to agree to play the game at all. The fire wasn't part of the original plan but it shows just how powerful those hard-won skills are when he wants to apply them. (This doesn't feel like it merits its own bullet point but Leos are protective, ride-or-die friends, something else we see in this episode.)

Stede's love language, imo, is quality time. There are arguments for others (there's also a really good meta about his love language causing miscommunication with our touchy-feely boy Ed, if I can find the link I'll edit) but quality time seems the most appropriate to me. Another part of the whole generosity of spirit thing is that he seems to enjoy what a friend of mine called "engineering experiences" for people i.e. crafting activities and jam sessions for the crew. The most obvious of these is the treasure hunt for Ed, which of course comes out of his fear of Ed leaving, but it's also a way for them to spend time together. I'm not at all surprised that a lonely, bullied kid would grow up to value quality time.

I would also extend this to the clearly routine (but still extravagant) breakfast for two that we see Calico Jack crashing in episode 8. Not to mention the first breakfast he and Ed ever share up on the maintop in episode 4. It's not fancy, but he wakes Ed up to share in that moment because he's enjoying the sunrise and the marmalade, and I can't think of anything more Leo than enjoying something then immediately wanting to share it because someone else might enjoy it too.

Stede's not perfect of course, despite all those seemingly positive things I just said. In the way of some Leos he is frequently thoughtless, up to and including when he didn't make to the dock. I can't speak for every Leo but I have definitely accidentally flirted with/been read as flirting with people before, whether I was attracted to them or not. And yeah his quarters are nice but he could have used some of that space for more crew quarters, right? And how could a Leo possibly misread "what makes Ed happy is you" as badly as he did?

Well I may be an Astrology Binch but I mostly like it (and anything else that puts personalities into discrete groups) as an analysis tool. It's just a fun lens to examine behaviors through, IRL and with fictional characters. Also, the show is clearly trying to examine things like trauma and self-loathing in ways that are gonna inform character behavior way more than a hypothetical astrology enthusiast in the (admittedly pretty queer) writers room. But the vibes? The vibes are so there.

Does the movie still happen in SideLines AU? \

Yes! Though it would be radically different and I haven't thought much about how exactly events would play out. Leo already got his character development, though, so someone else would be the driving force of the story. Probably Raph, or maybe Mikey?

Ooooo, actually, idea for a very Raph and Mikey centric movie plot: Mikey wants to prove himself but Raph keeps trying to protect him (because he has even more ptsd about not protecting his brothers with what happened to Leo) that they are the ones fighting in the beginning, and Raph's inability to trust Mikey is what leads to the key being stolen. And the way to win is for Raph and Mikey to reconcile their differences, with Raph acknowledging that Mikey is as strong as the rest of them and he needs to trust him, and Mikey acknowledging that his brother's help isn't meant to be a sleight but is there out of love.

I'd have to think about this a lot more to give you, like, a chain of events. I actually had a completely different answer ready for this and then thought of that while I was typing lol.

As for what I was going to say, while I'm not sure exactly how the movie events go down in Sidelined AU, I do have some idea of how it changes the bad future timeline.

By the point where the timelines diverge, Leo is recovered as fully as he ever will, able to walk around the lair most days and even go out on missions, provided he's careful and knows his limits. He still uses a range of mobility aids, given how he feels on any particular day, including the wheelchair for bad days or days where he knows he would be walking more than he could otherwise handle, but he's still relatively active.

The Krang invasion reverses a lot of this. As supplies dwindle, Leo starts suffering from malnutrition and a lack of sleep, and doesn't have access to medicine to help with the pain and fatigue, which takes a big toll on his body. Also, he really overdoes it and pushes himself too hard in the early days of the invasion, which accelerates his decline. By the time Casey is old enough to remember things, Leo is entirely wheelchair bound and doesn't often leave the base, only using his portals when he needs to to evacuate members of the resistance or help civilians.

He is still very much Master Leonardo - he's highly respected in the resistance, and anyone who wants to look down on him for his disability (or for being a turtle) either learns quickly or dies. However, he's not Casey's teacher in this timeline, instead leaving that to Raph and sometimes Donnie and Mikey. So Raph is Sensei now, and Leo is Master Leonardo or just Uncle Leo.

Leo takes over most of the care of Casey after his mom dies, since he's always at base, only sometimes sending Casey to Donnie or another adult when he's particularly busy (he's still the guy in the chair here, and also handles a lot of the day to day running of the resistance). Sometime early on, Donnie builds Leo a new chair that either hovers or has some other way of mitigating rough terrain (spider arms maybe?), and he frequently lets Casey ride on it. Even as Casey gets older, hanging off Leo's chair as they move around the base is second nature to him.

Casey was so used to Leo only being in his chair he was a little shocked on coming back to the past and seeing that Leo walks fairly frequently. He also grabbed onto Leo's chair sometimes out of habit, which made younger Leo tense up initially; something they eventually work through as they get closer.

Though all four turtles make it longer in the invasion than I usually headcanon (since I usually think of Raph as dying while CJ was too young to really remember him), they do still die, and Leo is the first to go. Casey is about 11 or 12 when this happens. When the Krang finds their base while the others are gone, Leo tells Casey he loves all of them and then portals him and the other non-combatants to safety, giving his all to hold the Krang back and give them a chance to escape. After that, Raph (who was already close to Casey anyway as his teacher and another of his uncle-dads) took over as the main adult looking out for him, and started taking him out on missions.

I'm not sure what happens next but I think it's Donnie who goes next, and then Raph and Mikey's deaths playing out the same way Leo and Mikey did in the movie. Especially since that goes with what I was saying above: Raph in the future comes to see and accept Mikey as an equal rather than someone to baby, foreshadowing what their relationship will become under happier circumstances.

Vesta & Virginity

I saw a post somewhere that said Vesta in the natal chart can represent one's virginity and it got me thinking. So, here's my interpretation of how your Vesta sign/house placement can determine how/where you lose your virginity

Someone could be on their period(?). This gives me the idea that you mostly focused on yourself and how you feel during the act (which isn't a bad thing btw, especially when it comes to your first time). I'm also getting that, if this resonates with you, you took your own virginity or maybe that's something you say often. Maybe the first time you experienced sex was alone with yourself? Could be with someone you play sports with, or the act could feel competitive.

Taurus/2nd House - You likely will lose your virginity in a bed or a place where you are comfortable, cozy, and warm (probably at home too). Lots of blankets. lmao sorry for the wait for some reason my brain said i could not possibly answer this until i completed the egg saga and therefore answered the first part of this question. but now im also gonna do an additional part showing donnie and mama's conversation, so it'll get even more answer...

tldr; she finds out about donnie, but still does not know about leo. she is upset and essentially forbids donnie from telling anyone about this-- (cause imagine the pr nightmare.) she wasn't previously aware that they were biologically female.

also!!! thank you!!! leo does also have a tail, but it's a lot shorter and stubbier than donnie's. he's privately a bit jealous of donnie's long, pretty, expressive tail. likewise, donnie is privately a bit jealous of leo's short, simple tail, which is never stepped on or caught in doors-- but neither of them would ever admit it and would in fact claim superiority of their own tail if asked.

donnie is the older twin.

they do not share a room, but they do share a floor of the hotel. they each have their own massive bedroom, complete with en suite bathrooms, balconies, and every other bell and whistle you could ever dream of, and are 'next door neighbors' so to speak. Mama occupies the top floor just above them, and everything below them is the actual hotel.

i don't currently have plans for any love interests!

all four of the brothers identify as male (at least right now, anyway,) and mikey and raph are both biologically male. draxum did not really care about the gender of the turtles he obtained for his experiments; he just needed strong, healthy specimens. (plus, turtles are, like, notoriously hard to sex, anyway.)

leo is pretty sure that he's gay, but hasn't breathed a word of this to anyone. he's well aware that being a prettyboy bachelor and making the girls swoon or whatever the fuck is a part of his 'brand' as a performer, and that messing with this would NOT be well received by his mother.

donnie is bisexual, but hasn't really noticed or processed this himself yet, because he doesn't spend very much time or energy considering what is or is not attractive to him. he has other things to worry about, thank you. (and he's not as...... easily impressed as leo is.) it's not like either of them are out socializing with people their age or going on dates or anything, anyway.

mikey isn't into labels u w u but also hasn't really ever put too much time or energy or thought into dating or anything like that. he's busy trying to eliminate humanity <3

Some scenes for that marvel au where Leo gets abducted by aliens like in guardians of the galaxy:

I think it'd be funny if Leo doesn't show up until the absolute last second, like the beginning of Mark of Athena and his crash landing is basically what kicks starts the war.

He'd have to have some contact with the rest of the seven for this to work, and Octavian probably spins it as the quest group harboring an enemy of the state or something.

Also this means that Annabeth would have taken his spot on the Lost Hero quest, which is kind of funny, because she'd be stuck with a emotionally and logically confused Piper and Jason, and we'd actually get some conflict stemming from the differences in Roman and Greek leadership.

They're all angry- Piper because he dad is in trouble, Annabeth because Percy's still missing and Jason because he can't remember a goddamn thing- and easily irritated and about one second away from exploding and eventually they all do.

The Greeks probably make some generic ship for them to travel on, and maybe Leo upgrades it with alien stuff.

It's like. Glaringly obvious that Leo does not know anything about the mythical world.

He's actually been raised on stories of the Norse gods, so his knowledge base is inaccurate and misplaced, because like, the Norse gods on Earth are not the same as the Norse gods that he's heard about. But since none of the others know that there are terrestrial Norse gods, that doesn't come up.

So, they're trying to explain that no, the gods he's heard about aren't a thing, and Leo's like… squinting and fiddling with his fork before gesturing back and forth between the Romans and Greeks. "Okay, but y'all thought the Greeks didn't exist and the Roman's didn't exist until now so…"

No one wants to think about this on top of everything else, so they just let Leo believe what he believes. (He's right, sort of, anyway. Annabeth is not going to want to admit as much when she learns about what Magnus is up to lol)

When they're discussing rescuing Nico from the jar, Leo looks side to side and asks, "Are they trying to pickle him or something?"

Hazel's about ready to kill him, but Frank is just like. very confused. "Like cucumbers?"

Leo shrugs. He's had a childhood of threatening to be eaten, so it isn't the largest jump in logic for him.

Anyway, since he's got no opinion about either camp, he isn't opposed to going after Nico, though he does pull out a holographic battle map and starts suggesting some strategies.

Annabeth and Frank are very reluctantly fascinated.

Hazel and Leo are always commiserating or fighting over the bathrooms because Hazel's always sea sick and Leo's always throwing up from food poisoning because he's not used to earth germs.

He doesn't realize this is the issue and there's an unfortunate mishap where he tried to bond with Frank by offering him some of his snacks from space and... yeah, that was a bit of a setback on the making nice thing.

Percy took one look at Leo's leather outfit and went "Ares."

He tries to let go of this prejudice.

All the monsters they have to deal with are like, nothing compared to what's out there in the rest of the universe and Leo is deeply unimpressed by the creatures attacking them.

He doesn't have a bronze of gold weapons (and at least here that oversight makes sense).

At some point, they're fending off some beast and Leo just glances between it and the way the other demigods are fighting it with knives and swords and pulls a gun from his jacket.

It probably shouldn't work, but it's not bullets as ammo, instead some kind of energy beam doodad and the monster careens over a cliff side. Leo just leans forward to watch it fall and then goes "…cool." and walks off.

Festus has still been running wild at camp this whole time and now he's like, sensing his future buddy and waylays the quest group before they leave the States. Maybe it happens when the Romans catch up with them and Festus unintentionally saves them/ buys them time to escape.

THIS GUY, Leo is impressed with.

They don't realize what the storm or fire line means for the LONGEST just because Leo just never thinks about his fire. Like, he didn't tell any of them about it, he kind of came to think he had some kind of alien ancestry over the years and so it doesn't have anything to do with this mythic stuff in his mind yet.

Anyway, that means that Jason and Frank think it's about them (ayyy frason ) and that's just a whole big thing when Leo realizes what's going on. It would have been pretty interesting if the final outcome of the prophecy had come down to a decision made by both a Greek and Roman actually. Hm.

Anyway, with all of this in play, it might actually come down to Frank dying to stop Gaea instead of Leo, simply because the expectations were different, and that Leo doesn't have as strong of connection to this world or the rest of the seven. Which is an interesting take/explanation for Nemesis's warning to him about never finding a place with his brethren. Hm...

Anyway, either Leo dies, or Frank dies and Leo has to like. Actually, face reality because he's lost someone again and he blames himself for that death and he can't keep running, but it's not so simple because he doesn't know where or what home is.

He'd probably end up going back to space, but eventually he'd have to come back for his own peace of mind.

I think Raph would be very upset about this, especially if they hadn't realized Donnie was a soothe sayer yet. What if they only figure it out/was revealed after Donnie fell into a waking dream!? Like you said it's really hard to tell the difference so maybe Donnies been asleep in his lab for several days and Raph goes to check on him only to realize that Donnies markings are glowing and it looks a lot like what happens when Leo has a vision

Oooh that's a good idea! and probably better than the Donnie's Soothe Sayer reveal i had been thinking of (which was just Draxum going "I've found out that soothe sayers have marks like this!" and everyone looks at Donnie.)

I mean, a few things would probably end up changing a bit, since it would likely end up happening After Leo's own Waking vision incident (simply b/c that's the first time the other two witness any sort of vision from the twins). So, the reason they called Donnie during Leo's waking vision would likely change slightly (maybe b/c he knew more about leo's visions then they did? Or simply b/c Leo keeps calling for him during it.) and exactly how forthcoming Leo was about his powers. (Like downplaying how important and rare it was so Donnie probably wouldn't know his own powers were special either and not realize it was information that needed to be shared.)

So after Leo's waking vision, Draxum and Splinter would grudgingly team up to steal into the Councils library and learn more about seers (specifically to figure out how to find the missing one.) and be gone for several days as a result.

While their away, i could see Donnie accidentally falling into his own waking vision. (maybe b/c he wanted to work through the night but needed a brief nap, so he set an alarm for like 20 minutes and it went off mid-vision thus causing a waking vision.)

So by the time Draxum and Splinter come back with the information they needed (and their own realization that Donnie is the soothe sayer) they just come back to this

and know that the boys have already figured out Donnie's powers on their own.

(everyone's sleeping. Ok, Leo and Mikey are sleeping. Raph's not b/c he wants to keep an eye on Donnie, and Donnie isn't by definition.)

Aries Mercury

Alright you greedy fucks! Let's get into this. Like many Aries placements there are the general themes of independence, impulsivity, and chaos. I know I come off rude sometimes but that is only because I have said words in the wrong tone. Other times I’m actually trying to be rude. Here is my fun advice for people as a whole: Take a risk and be okay with someone not liking you. If one person doesn’t like you remember there is a dog that will love you more than that person ever could. Now if there are multiple people that actively dislike you, I got nothing. And even then if you're a earth mercury...are you really listening to a fire mercury? I usually get along well with earth placements but earth mercuries are a whole different thing bruh. Taurus mercuries are okay...unless you disagree with them and act like I do in an argument (with passion) because then you better hope their mars isn't in another fixed sign. Idk take what you can from that. I would say something about Virgo and Capricorn mercuries but I haven't really met too many. Plus most Virgo mercuries I have met also have a Leo sun and Taurus moon so it would be wrong of me to really say much about Virgo mercuries since Taurus and Leo placements (together) will dominant your shit most times. Anyways let's move onto the actually rest of the post.

Aries Sun

The pain of being a bad bitch. Lol idk that pain tho. Most post I have seen has labeled us as wild and childish. In actuality tho that is more likely Aries mars than Aries sun. I do wonder if the degree your sun is in affects the expression. It’s actually a moment cause Aries is exalted in the sun placement. I have an Aries sun at the 17th degree which is a Leo degree. Plus I have a Leo rising so I do wonder if that affected me in any way.

Aries Mars

Damn. I don’t have much to say besides please make sure to check on people after you get mad at them. Like it’s okay to feel anger and express it but idk sometimes people get hurt deeply by that expression. I don’t have too much experience with Aries mars people and Scorpio mars people. I can only go off by the two people I have met with either mars sign. Which are my grandma and my mom respectively. I will get into that another post so yeah sorry for the lack of stuff rn.

Taurus Moon

Indulgence. Depending on the sun sign there could be a lot of emotional repression from my experience. I love you guys…unless there is a Leo sun with the Taurus moon. Idk why but I’ve had so many issues with that combo. It isn’t because of the fixed sun fixed moon. My sister is a double Taurus, and my boyfriend is a Scorpio sun Taurus moon. And I love them both very much. I get along great even with other fixed sign sun and moon combos. Leo sun and Taurus moon however…nah.

Honestly I haven't figured out why I'm so erked by Leo sun and Taurus moon. I mean I'm a Leo rising and my MC is in Taurus so I feel like I could be missing something. Anyways Taurus moons are great. I have a lot of respect for you guys and your ability to just defend yourselves when someone says something about you that you know isn't the right thing about you. Even if everyone else in the room agrees with that person your ass is still going "I am not like that and that is that". Even with a prominent libra placements this seems to be a common thing among the Taurus moons I have met. I know someone with a Libra sun, Venus, and Mars and they will stand their ground when it comes to things being placed onto them and their character when they know it isn't right. At first I thought "maybe their Scorpio mercury has something to help with this" but then I remember my dad.

He has a Pisces sun and mercury with a Taurus moon and mars and an Aries Venus I think. If you are just arguing with him on something he is willing to listen to your point and I enjoyed that the most while I was growing up. As an fire dominant person arguing is my way to be vulnerable with people. If I don't trust that you will listen to me or if I don't want to be close to you emotionally, I will just not talk to you. And when I disagree with something you said, I will not just continue on with my day because I don't want to listen to stuff that bores me aka you. Now back to what I was saying about my dad. He and I enjoyed arguing about anything and everything but if I felt overwhelmed by shit he would literally comfort me. So he is okay with stopping a disagreement. Now I bring that up because I have seen him argue with other people and when they try to place a character trait onto him or someone he cared about, he will stand his ground if you are wrong in his eyes. I don't know if that made any sense but honestly that is the only way I can think of describing the thing that I have noticed about Taurus moons.

Taurus Mars

Sometimes I wonder what you guys feel because I can’t really guess what you guys are feeling fully. Especially if you have a mutable moon. Now the two Taurus mars I can think of is my dad and my brother. They both have two Taurus placements each (my dad as said previously has a Taurus moon as well as a Taurus mars, and my brother has a Taurus sun with his Taurus mars). Personally I rarely saw my dad angry but I have seen my brother angry when we were younger. My brother would get red in the face from yelling especially when arguing with our sister. Two Taurus suns with fixed mars refusing to back down...surprising. Now he has calmed down a fuck ton since then. Luckily he doesn't have to be as angry as he used to be.

Gemini Mercury

My besties no matter what you say I will accept the foolishness. Oh and if you have a Gemini Venus as well bruh. I will be chaotic. It is a simple fact that Gemini placements tend to make me go feral, just pure chaos. I think sag mercuries have the same effect on me but I never know how to deal with them properly. Gemini Mercury tho…bitch I’m swinging off that one loose tile on the ceiling…that makes no sense but it doesn’t matter right now. the raven cycle timeline

"trc takes place in the mid-2010s" "trc takes place in 2012" no it doesn't! it's pretty common knowledge that mstief isn't the most specific when it comes to timelines (an example is that she had to change ronan's birth date after readers pointed out that it didn't line up with the events of the book; another example is the pre-canon gansey & adam & ronan friendship timeline, which doesn't make sense at all if you think about it longer than a second), and she has said before that her editors are more or less the same.

what that means is that the raven cycle and the dreamer trilogy are kind of nebulously "present-time," and no matter what year you think it takes place in, some details are going to be inaccurate. but since i am a chronic nit-picker and i get very fussy about timelines, that didn't sit right with me! i needed to know the exact year. so on my last reread, i kept a look out for any mention of dates so that i might be able to pinpoint exactly when the raven cycle takes place.

and i think i might have the answer :)

all of my arguments come from the dream thieves.

firstly, adam's birthday. we know that his birthday is july 3rd:

we also know that he was missing for most of the previous day:

what happens then is that he falls asleep for an indeterminate amount of time ("Later he fell asleep sitting up on the end of that same sofa."), he and gansey drive back to henrietta, adam visits blue at fox way, and after scrying with persephone he falls asleep again for twenty-one hours, and during that twenty-one hours is when his birthday takes place.

for a while i assumed the "quietly turned eighteen" referred to midnight, but that actually doesn't make a lot of sense given the context of the previous day being saturday. both of our options (gansey and adam drive back the same evening they found adam; gansey and adam drive back the next morning, on sunday) leaves us with adam falling asleep on sunday. at some point during the next twenty-one hours he "turns eighteen."

the thing is, there is no convenient year where july 3rd falls on a monday (in the scenario where we assume that "quietly turned eighteen" refers to midnight on the day of his birthday). however, if we go with the idea that it is still sunday and it refers simply to his actual time of birth, we're left with a pretty good answer:

adam turns 18 on sunday, july 3rd, 2011.

i have another thing to kind of back this up.

if we assume niall wasn't lying about that, we have two (well... kind of) options:

i searched for earthquakes in northern england since niall was born in cumbria. however, in my opinion, the second one, on december 26th, can't really be counted, since it would mean niall was... 32 in 2011. a little young lol. but if he was born in 1970, he would be 40/41 at his time of death, which makes a lot of sense (it also makes sense he would be a leo). neither earthquakes are a 4.1, but whatever, maybe he just forgot the exact number. maybe he was being humble.

so... all of this to say that the events of the raven cycle probably happen during 2011, and thus the dreamer trilogy would take place in 2013. considering the references to fortnite and all, that doesn't make a lot of sense, but at least i can rest easy knowing that that's just because mstief didn't think about this stuff at all while writing it (hence nebulous "present-day" being the actual correct answer as to when the books are set).

for a while i actually thought trc took place in 2010 since the lynches go to church before kavinsky's party, which i assumed meant july fourth was on a sunday, but it's mentioned that they go for a "special" "holiday mass" and not regular mass. either way, 2011 works better with adam being missing on saturday.

anyway, all this to say that i think about timelines too much. thank you for reading if you've made it this far lol

so these 3 are part of a post movie au idea i had, but is also technically during movie? idk!

their au isn't fully fleshed out on the specifics and the why's of certain things but that's ok :] Here's what i do have figured out though

They're from the Bad Future via the movie!

Initially made by Draxum using DNA from the original turtles and himself as well as some turtles he found (how? uh. dont ask)

Taken by the Krang as babies and infected with Krang DNA as well

They're "raised" and trained by the Krang to fight and defeat the rebellion, and assume the Krang made them

Three learns of their origins and attacks the Krang. She is sent to the prison dimension

Time passes: the rebellion is destroyed.

In the past Leonardo sends himself and Krang Prime to the prison dimension. He is there for a lot longer than he lets his brothers know.

There Leonardo meets Three. They become friends.

Then Leo's brothers come for him, and Three takes the chance to collect her own siblings

In a future no longer to come, Three appears, making her powers clear and known. She grabs her siblings, One and Two, and leaves

In the past, months after the attempted invasion a portal opens up above the Hudson River and out falls three turtle-krang creatures, two of which fighting each other while the other tries to stop them

The story begins.

As a note: I like the idea some people have of Leo being in the Prison Dimension for longer than thought of in canon bc of weird time stuff happening. Where it could be a few minutes for Raph, Donnie, and Mikey but it was months for Leo. Something like that :)

Predictions for anniversary campaign based on songs I'd really like to see in game and whatever fits the number of character spaces;

The 2 space and 4 space are what's throwing me off the most, because I really want the 4 space to be WAVE (Niki) for VBS but it's possible the 2 space is Shun-Ran (John). In which case Nightcord has the 4 space. Could be Mabel (Balloon). If it is WAVE I have no idea what the 2 space could be but it's for Nightcord.

7 spaces could be Tokyo Teddy Bear (Neru). Probably for Leo/Need. That's all really.

I think the 3DMV is going to be WxS on the fact they've gone the longest without one. In which case Positive Club vs Negative Club (Wonderful * Opportunity) fits so it's a possibility.

Finally the 5 spaces one might be Magnet (Minato) for MMJ. Which I think could be the greatest thing to come out of this anniversary. Let ShizuAiri do That again even if there isn't a 3DMV it's still gay as hell. They've been locked away for over 2 years they need to let them out at some point.

i've seen a lot of people on JP twitter saying Shunran for the first one, that seems to be a popular prediction. I've seen WAVE a lot as well for the 4 character slots. I think if WAVE is on there it would be either of the bottom slots, because I don't think they add MVs that are just static image + text to the game, which is what WAVE has.

i think tokyo teddy bear could be right for #3. it's well-known so has a good shot at getting in for a start, but it also works for either a N25 or L/n cover. also i'm really biased and i hope that this is right lol

yeah that's true actually the last wxs cover 3DMV was back in March I think? Positive vs Negative would fit quite well with Nene and Tsukasa or Emu. Maybe leaning towards Emu more just because tknn was WxS' last 3DMV and Dance Robot Dance was added so long ago now. I've seen a lot of people on twt say Suki na Koto Dake de Ii Desu (pinnochioP) for this one on twitter, which i think could work too if only for this one extremely rui-coded line

for the 5 space one i've seen kamippoi na in a lot of people's predictions. i guess that could work for n25? they got a pino song earlier this year so it's not out the question.

it's really annoying they didn't give out hints this year because at least you can kinda try to work out the cover songs but there's no chance at the vsinger ones. well i guess we do know the 3dmv is probably going to be len. i saw some people saying Buta ni Natte yeah yeah (neru), which fits when written in JP and apparently is like a spiritual successor to potato ni natte iku so I could definitely see that getting in.

frank/hazel/leo most popular pjo ot3? an analysis

okay so the love triangle poll had me thinking. i knew frank/hazel/leo had ship content on ao3, and i was curious to see if other love triangles or popular trios got the same treatment.

(this is very long and rambling)

last one is crazy lol. anyway, other potential trios like jason/reyna/piper or different combos of percy/annabeth/piper/jason all had less than 20 fics each. its possible i missed one but i'm pretty sure i tried of all of them.

for context, the general state of pjo character and ship content looks like this:

the vast majority of tagged fandom content with frank and hazel has them as background characters. finding content that centers them takes digging. aside from calypso/leo, they have the least popular canon ship, and the only other character that either has any substantial fan content with is leo. the pjo fandom has shipped leo with literally any character he was in proximity with, and hazel was a canon love interest of his. in addition, the pjo fandom has incredibly popular mlm ships and has gone through the time-honored tradition of finding ways to sideline, if not villainize, the canon female love interests. which makes these next stats so interesting to me:

a decent portion of works in both of these tags are frank/hazel/leo fics that got crosstagged. obviously, frank/hazel have more fics than frank/hazel/leo:

however, its impossible to figure out how many of these fics actually center frank/hazel, as opposed to them just being background characters. so i did a test and filtered out all of the more popular ships in their tag:

this isn't a perfect representation, because there are definitely frank/hazel centric-fics that had other ships in the background, and frank/hazel/leo aren't the main couple of every fic they get tagged in. still, though. that's less than the frank/hazel/leo fics.

the other thing about hazel and frank content is that they are the two characters who are most frequently headcanoned as straight. it's died down some in recent years but it used to be CONSTANT (it happened to leo too, but not as much). most fans thought they were the two most "traditional" characters, value-wise. so i was thinking, if frank and hazel got this much content for a poly ship, then the characters that this fandom actually thinks are gay have to have more:

and then i was like, hmmm well okay i'm very surprised there's not more for those three. but there's so many people who ship some combo of nico/percy/jason/will. i've seen so many big 3 edits that leave out the girls. there's no way frank/hazel/leo is beating out the white slash ship industrial complex.

my biggest guess would be that there was some sort of beef between the percy/nico and jason/nico crowds that has led to this lack of ot3 content. i wouldn't know. i'm wondering if they're going to catch up; its not far off right now. as far as i can tell will solace has no popular ot3's that broke more than 20 fics and is pretty much only shipped with nico.

other potential ot3's like jason/piper/leo...i have a theory that a lot of jason/piper shippers only really shipped it in conjunction with percy/annabeth because they were were a good secondary couple for percabeth-centric fics, and didn't care about leo as much (which could explain why there's more overall content for jason and piper than for leo). also, i think historically a lot of leo fans thought jason and piper were bad friends, although these days there's a lot more renewed appreciation for their trio. piper has also been commonly written as a ship obstacle since the inception of her character, when people thought she was homewrecking jason and reyna (the jason/nico crowd uses this trope too), which might be why she's not commonly put in ot3's despite having chemistry with most of the cast. on the other hand, the "ship wars" between hazel/frank and hazel/leo shippers in the mark of athena era were pretty mild, because most readers liked all three characters and didn't have strong enough feelings about either pairing to fight about it, whereas other ot3's don't get written because fans have a very strong preference for their other ships.

i know frank/hazel/leo has its origins on ff.net, but it was mostly one author and mostly just kink. there's a much bigger variety on ao3. i'm wondering why people liked it enough to make it a side pairing for other fics, and at what point the bulk of content for it was written. i'm wondering what people get out of combining the three of them that you don't get from just two. is it because all 3 dynamics are so clearly defined in canon? some of them also are based on kinks like mpreg that historically exclude women, so why do these authors include one? this is also interesting because the rest of the fanbase, including both fans who ship frank/hazel and fans who think that shipping hazel with anybody is problematic, refuse to write about hazel or frank having sex to the point where it was a fandom meme for a while. except in frank/hazel/leo fics, where a large percentage have explicit content. i'm wondering which of the nico/jason/percy or frank/hazel/leo tags has more mpreg, but i'm okay not knowing.

if you made it this far, there's not a real point to this post, except pointing out that for characters who barely get shipping content, frank/hazel/leo is unexpectedly popular considering how much content exists about them otherwise, and also goes against popular fandom perception of the characters in interesting ways.

I hate how tmnt will only ever give Mikey development in the comics like he has phased out into a background character at this point who is barley relevant in fact the only reason they add him is because he's part of a package deal and it would be hard to get rid of him even though it's become obvious they don't want Mikey a part of the series what so ever so they do everything in their power to make him as less relevant as they can. Also isn't it suspicious how when any big Mikey projects are in production of being made they suddenly get cancelled.? there was supposed to be a foot solider Mikey movie that got cancelled and the last Ronin was actually in production of being Mikey since the 90s there was another Mikey centric movie were his bros and sensei reverted back to turtles but guess what it got cancelled anything Mikey related that's important either gets \cancelled or thrown into the comics also rise actually had multiple Mikey centric eps on hand but the show got cancelled like it's honestly starting to get annoying let my boy live.

oh yeah, it’s definitely an unfortunate cycle of mikey being cut for time in almost any iteration outside of the comics. i think whilst a lot of people are familiar with all the ninja turtles outside of the realm of fandom, mikey is pretty much “the face man” of the franchise. he’s the one that most kids grew up having as their favourite. he’s gonna be front and center on lunchboxes and kiddie pyjamas. i think in that sense he’s pretty safe from ever being killed off or chopped from the actual franchise itself (plus if they ever did that permanently to any of the turtles, it would cause pretty big uproar) but it means as a result, he’s taken less seriously

i think it just unfortunately falls under the fact that whatever show/movie you’re watching, it quickly becomes apparent what turtle was the favourite of the writers and directors. pretty sure i’ve mentioned this before but the 2003 writers openly expressed how much they enjoyed leo + donnie as characters. you watch the 2003 series and that’s really plainly obvious. it’s not a bad thing, but again, every writer does it. heck, i do it. i write more mikey centric fics than i do, say, donnie, because it’s just more fun that way. a character will ultimately have to suffer at the hands of a writers bias, and sadly it’s always mikey that ends up suffering. just not in the way we want him to lol

that being said it gives me a little hope for the mutant mayhem series and sequel since seth rogan has voiced his favourite being mikey multiple times. i don’t think mutant mayhem solely focused on any one turtle, which i enjoyed, but going into future mediums for that branch of the franchise, i’m keeping my hopes high that he does just something with mikey. the potential is there. i would love to see what he does with it

but yeah. looking back, poor mike gets the short end of the stick. it’s funny, whenever i go back and do a 2012 rewatch, i get about halfway through the space arc and start to feel my enthusiasm dwindle, mostly because “journey to the centre of mikey’s mind” is like. the LAST mikey centric episode of the entire rest of the series (granted he has cool moments in later eps and isn’t totally under-utilised) but if you want an ep that’s just for him, it sadly ends right there.

same with 2003. i adore 2003 mikey but he doesn’t have a whole lot of episode focused on him. i was surprised going into rise that, even though it was considerably shorter than other shows, he still managed to have just a sparing amount of focused episodes on him alone. and then when looking into the deleted episodes, it didn’t really come as a big shock to me that a lot of those deleted episodes were mikey episodes (man i would have really really loved to have seen the robo pet one!!)

it’s also pretty consistent that whatever show or movie, the writers often talk about a plot where mikey’s brothers either end up de-mutated or de-aged and mike has to be the one to save them. kinda funny because it’s like: here’s this opportunity to have mikey really prove himself as more than capable and not just a goof — and yet, multiple times now that idea has been cut and he hasn’t had his chance to prove himself that way

i’m a mikey fan. i love all the turtles the same but i definitely am a mikey fan through and through. of course i’m gonna want a mikey centric plot and arc and all this. i know the chances of ever getting it are very slim but. yknow. i have the last ronin at least…… *sobs*

pls talk to me about 100 Feet and a World Away Raph's recovery process, if he relapses sometimes or what it's like for him in general

Sure! This got long so I had to put it behind a read more lol

So keep in mind nothing about this part of the AU is intended to be realistic haha, in reality Raph would need years of multiple kinds of therapies, including behavioral therapy and speech therapy, to get anywhere near what you could consider recovered, but I'm fast tracking this because we want Raph to get his happy ending with everyone else!

Some content warnings here for depersonalization, dissociation, etc

During his captivity Raph has very few and fleeting moments of lucidity - even when he does manage to "surface," once he realizes what's happening and that he's alone he pretty much shuts down again immediately. This doesn't mean Raph is gone, though! He'll later say it was like he was underwater, able to hear and see things but always muffled, smeary, and understanding would slip through his grasp. When Raph sleeps, he often dreams of the things that have happened to him in abstract ways and uses this to process - something that he hates when he's still captive but which becomes invaluable once he's free and trying desperately to get back to his family.

Raph also isn't entirely alone in his head, at least not always! He gets a... visitor from time to time. This visitor does everything they can to help Raph in the time they can spend with him, and is the main reason why Raph hasn't completely lost touch with things like speech by the time he finally manages to regain lucidity.

Raph's recovery process is very, very slow. For the first few weeks he doesn't seem to entirely realize that he's been freed - it's only the smell of his family nearby, or the sounds of their voices, that keep him calm. He still acts very animalistic during that time and basically can't be left alone at all. All of the family is afraid that he may be beyond recovery (though they are still resolved to care for and love him no matter what), and they all have different reactions to this. For Splinter this is another heartbreak on top of a pile, and he has a tendency to overly baby Raph to the point that it feels more like how one would treat a pet at times, though he does constantly remind himself of his son's personhood to combat this instinct. Leo has known Raph is like this for a long time, but he's not dealing with anything well and he doesn't deal with this well, either - he's in mourning even though he refuses to say it. Mikey is openly optimistic that they'll get Raph back, but this also means he tends to get his hopes up about a new thing to try, and then gets disappointed when it doesn't work. Only Donnie seems completely unbothered by the "new Raph," and basically just talks to Raph like he does the others, and seems to enjoy having someone he can ramble to about science without end. Because of this, Raph bonds with Donnie the fastest, and when Raph finally manages to talk again, his first words are to Donnie.

Through his dreams, Raph comes to know that he's safe, and slowly the things around him start to get clearer. He starts to recognize his family members by sight as much as smell, he starts acting less and less animalistic and starts to manage basic tasks, like feeding himself with utensils. He starts talking in brief words and sentences, and his vocabulary builds rapidly with the help of his visitor and the dreams and Donnie talking to him endlessly. He also has brief periods of lucidity throughout this time, but to his frustration he can't quite hang on to them - like his muscles have to rebuild their strength to acknowledge reality.

Once he feels safe enough, Raph will finally manage a period of lucidity that lasts longer than a few minutes to an hour. There also may be some mystic stuff that happens in here to help him finally overcome his last mental blocks.

And then it's like he finally breaks the surface for real this time. He's not underwater anymore. He knows and understands everything around him. At least as well as his brothers do, anyway.

It takes him more time and stability to finally get back to a person who resembles the Raph we have in canon (though never quite the same), but he makes improvements all the time.

He does have relapses occasionally after this point, usually if he's left alone without any warning or if something severely startles him. If he doesn't get enough sleep or if he's sick or overwhelmed he can sometimes slip into more animalistic ways of acting, too. In those cases, the others just have to ground him, by talking to him and reminding him of where he is and what's going on until he feels safe enough to "surface" again. And eventually he learns new coping mechanisms and ways of feeling safe that don't necessitate completely dissociating from reality.

I know confessions are over but It's crazy how good is Tom in interviews. Keep watching these actors doing interviews a none of them are at his level. Understandable why Tom's interviews get millions of views. Tom could have a future as a TV host, if he wanted to.

I still remember the rumors he could be hosting the Oscars, and most of the people thought he could do a great job. SNL is another thing I hope he does one day, maybe after his run on the West End, he feels comfortable enough to do it.

Lol Idk which actors you've been watching interviews of, or who you're comparing Tom to, but I think it's good to keep in mind that Tom is an outlier.... He's not the standard. I think a lot of fans keep trying to compare other actors out there to Tom in interviews, but you have to keep in mind that MOST actors are NOT going to be "Tom Holland" in interviews. I don't even think I would want EVERY single actor to be Tom Holland in interviews tbh lol.😅 You need diversity.

There are actually very few actors who have that type of level of charisma in interviews. Interviews are actually quite daunting for most actors because a lot of them are shy or used to playing a different character onscreen, but not really opening up in an interview and being vulnerable. Even the greats like Leo, River Phoenix, Keanu Reeves, Johnny Depp, Denzel Washington, etc... A lot of them are actually quite reserved or don't even like to do interviews lol. Many great legends of actors out here were awful interviewers, but GREAT actors onscreen. 😃

Then, you have some actors who are both... The ones who seem really charismatic (aside from Tom) are Tom Cruise, Will Smith, Jennifer Lawrence, Julia Roberts, Jamie Foxx, etc.... Some of the GOATS that I mentioned are just a big ball of charisma. But not all of them are like that. Nothing wrong with that! 🤷🏾‍♀️ I just think it's good to recognize that they are an outlier, but not the standard.

Ooof.... At this point, I don't think I'd want Tom to host either. 😔 I never was a fan of anyone young hosting the Oscars (I think the James Franco and Anne Hathaway hosting fiasco is still etched in my brain somewhere 😩). Plus, I can't imagine all of the backlash he would get. 😩

But at the same time, lately, it seems like everyone HATES SNL (especially after Timmy's episode 👀), so while I would have wanted Tom for that show in the past, I'm guessing now wouldn't be a good time for him to host a show like that. 😔

But Tom definitely has the charisma for live TV and comedy. I guess having a comedic father helped a lot lol. 😅
