How I Manifest

Hi lovlies!! Someone asked me to share my manifesting routine so here it is, i hope you will find it helpful ^-^ 𓆩♡𓆪 I have a routine for morning and night, I use the ''Routine'' app for my routines and i have been gatekeeping this app for so long because i really love it and i can get everything done with that. 𓆩♡𓆪My morning routine involves a lot of self-improvement, self-care etc habits inside of it, including visualisation, affirming, journaling. 𓆩♡𓆪VISUALISATION: I use the pinterest app for inspiration. I have lots of moodboards based on what i want to manifest, for example material things, 2024 goals, dresses and jewelries i would love to have, dream body, relationship goals etc. I give myself 10-15 mins to visualize what i would like. I do this both morning and night. 𓆩♡𓆪AFFIRMING: Before visualisation, i do affirming. I use the premium version of the ''I am'' app. I sometimes use the themes on the app, sometimes i use the photos i designed myself for my manifestations for the wallpaper. I wrote a lot of the affirmations myself but i use the ones in Tumblr and created some of them based on the subs i listen to. I do affirming two times in a day scheduled, other than that times i do it whenever it comes to my mind. Like if i have a fear, i just affirm otherwise. 𓆩♡𓆪JOURNALING:Okay, i do journaling for my affirmations just to relax my mind because i love to write. It is therapeutic for myself. I also write my scripts this way. I only do journaling when i feel like it in the night routine. 𓆩♡𓆪SUBLIMINALS:I use many many subs. I love silent subs the most because i can watch series, have breakfast or study while listening to them. I prefer them more than the other ones. I have a very spesific music taste so i do not enjoy most subliminal channels's musics. I can share a list of the subs i use if you guys want to, let me know ^-^ 𓆩♡𓆪ACTIVELY TRYING: I know we can manifest anything we want effortlessly but i do not enjoy sitting around and doing nothing about it. I really do love the feeling of accomplishment when i finish a 5 hour study session, 1h of Chloe Ting workout or cleaning around our house. So i also manifest to have more self-discipline. I love to make effort, but you do not have to. It is just how i prefer. Of course i do not want to make anything harder for myself to manifest obv. I am just putting into work, for example i love working out but suck at diets. I do my workouts and i manifest my diet to get healthier and better ^^ 𓆩♡𓆪TAKING BREAKS: When i feel like i am doing ''too much'' or trying so hard, i let go. I take a few days off from my routines. Because i do not want to block my energy. I assume, and i let go. 𓆩♡𓆪BELIEVING:BELIEVE IN YOURSELF. Trust the law, IT IS LITERALLY A LAW. Just, trust the process.

🪄My thoughts on Cedric The Sorcerer🌙 (until now)

(not that anyone cares idk i just wanna talk about him, it's a lot of random thoughts and it's messy, but it's fun to read I guess)

Did you like that cute moodboard I did for him? It took me like 10 minutes I loved it. It fits him so well I'm so proud of myself for doing this. The whimsigothic aesthetic matches him so well I wish more people knew it so we would have tons of moodboards and cute stuff of him in this aesthetic it would be so nice. Ok let me start my post

I wanna share some headcanons, talk about my first impressions, it's not really organized I just wrote down whatever I remembered and the result was that. I wanna share my new hyperfocus with more people, that's what I'm doing here today :)

Everything started when I saw this man on Tumblr and though "who's this guy and why is princess Sophia next to him?", when I clicked on the hashtag out of curiosity I understood that it's because he's a character from the cartoon, and I was like "lol another tumblr sexyman again let's move on keep doing my things and interacting with my fandoms" (december 24)

I also mentioned it to my friend on IG bc I saw a reels that was like "you don't have any weird fictional crushes right?" and then proceeds to show us an edit of him with millions of hearts around. I sent it to her and said "omg I saw ppl talking about this on tumblr" and we just laughed a lot because it was something we did not expected (not mean laughs, they were genuine laughs of shock and because that was very unexpected like HOW IN THE WORLD, and she remembered him in the show while I didn't)

Some days later I saw more fanarts of him on tumblr and that made me a little curious, but not enough to search about the subject.

After some days I just couldn't forget him, and that's when I searched his name on youtube purposely trying to find compilations of his funny moments to understand what was happening

And boy I did

At this point was just having fun and laughing thinking "omg another guy who's sassy, has good personality and is another ugly-atractive character that has a fandom on tumblr, I got it, he's very nice" and I went to do other stuff again but this man just DIDN'T CAME OUT OF MY MIND

Just making an interruption here, I loved watching Disney Junior as a kid, maybe when I was six or seven, idk I don't remember, and I was a huge fan of Sofia The First, it was one of my favorite cartoons from Disney Jr alongside Doc McStuffins and Art Attack. AND I JUST DON'T REMEMBER CEDRIC IT'S LIKE I NEVER SAW HIM IN THAT SHOW, EVER. I literally don't remember him being part of the cast i'm sorry Cedric 😭 now he stands out so much to me, he's carrying the whole show on his back. Btw now that I mentioned Disney Junior I would like to say that here in Brazil Sofia First is actually called Little Princess Sofia, and Doc McStuffins is Doctor Toys. Sometimes I call Sofia "Princess Sofia" but I don't even know if that's how they call her in the english version, I watched everything on portuguese 😭 but ok let's move on (I have more things to say related to the brazillian dub, but let me finish my train of thought first)

As I was saying this man just didn't came out of my mind, and I was like "Oh no another hyperfocus where people around me will make fun of me because they will say that he's ugly and that liking kid's shows is something weird 😭 I can't take this anymore" and I tried to deny it but I CAN'T i'm almost making a pinterest board for him, I just accepted my fate (gonna draw fanarts soon and no one can stop me)

I found a list of every chapter he's in and i'm watching every. single. one. of. them. I watched the movie first, and boy this is gave me so much nostalgia because I remember some vague objects and scenes from when I was a kid, I used to love the Disney Princesses, when I got a little older I started watching Descendants, I grew up watching Tangled and Frozen and I swear to god I almost teared up from nostalgia during the episode Rapunzel shows up, and they didn't changed her voice actor, that's what got me. It was like travelling back to a time I didn't even remembered that existed anymore. Because since I haven't seen Sofia The First in about 10 years, I don't even remember anything FROM the show except for some parts, and that this show had so much old Disney energy that I didn't even know made a difference, but it does.

I'm sounding like a granny here but (i'm not even in my 20s yet) it feels like another time, Disney changed so much. Some of the new movies are good, some are bad, I see Disney much more as a company that wants money and makes movies instead of that perfect place where all dreams come true and every girl is a princess (Here in Brazil I never had a dream to go to Disneyland because Disney in the early 2010's invested more in products and blue ray DVDs in Brazil, since the parks were in the United States and we weren't really the target audience for that. So they didn't minded making publicity about it, so I just watched the movies and Disney Junior). Everything felt more magical when I was a kid, I spent my days watching DVDs and sometimes had some Disney princesses themed toys, it was so fun playing pretend that I was a princess and I really felt like one. Rewatching Sofia The First made me feel like this again because they made this show at the time that their public were HUGE fans of the Disney princesses and it has the same characteristics, plots, even styles of the songs and soundtracks, visuals + I watched it when I was younger. It's not just "princesses" it has the whole Disney girly early 2010's magic into it and it made me so bittersweet, even if they tried they could never do nowdays a movie inspired by that time and give me the same feeling as a REAL movie from that time does. Sofia The First: Once Upon a Time was like watching a new movie from that old Disney, one that I didn't saw before, but at the same time I did, and that's the best part. The end of the movie gave me so much nostalgia that I almost cried too. That experience was amazing :")

It gives me the same nostalgia that I feel when I hear that song "a dream is a wish your heart makesss" it makes me cry how I miss to be a little girl again (i'm crying right now btw i'm very intense with my emotions)

(And hell I don't remember Cedric at all, since when he was there the whole time? Now that I know that he's there I'm feeling like really reeeeaaaaalllyy vague memories are trying to come back in my head, but I don't know if my brain is doing this on purpose or i'm just confusing him with an equally vague memory of Cruella. I guess it's the first option, I'm trying so hard that my brain is making up memories. Weird.)

But yeah at first I saw everyone falling to his feet and even though I understood that he was very funny and had a well-writen personality I couldn't really get why people were romantically in love with him. Well um I actually got it, he was a good character and was one more of these strangely atractive characters that people fall in love with, I've been there too. But I just couldn't see what was so atractive that people were simping over him, for me at that moment he was just funny and fits very well the "let's make a fandom" type of character, like for example Preminger from Barbie Princess and The Pauper. But then I thought "idk what i'm talking about i'm demisexual lol let's wait a few days" (That happened before. Many times.)

And I'm like. I don't know what's happening to me I'm so susceptible to weird (in socially non-fandom people's words) crushes and I thought I wouldn't be afected this time. Just so you can have an idea some of my last crushes were: Dr Flug from Villanos, Jackson Jekyll from Monster High, Victor Frankenstein from Okegom, Raggedy Andy, Mettaton from Undertale (and UnderLust), THE Eddie Munson (for a whole year and some months, and I was so bullied after his "trend" ended because people said that his fans were cringe and everything (that's fake lol they are very nice)), 70% of my list are just nerds and sensitive guys with different types of mental illness yay my fav type

and now I think I'm feeling unironically atracted by this man it's just happening really slowly 😭 (DEMISEXUALS ‼️‼️⁉️⁉️💥💥💥💥💥👊👊👊👊)

I'm gonna be honest with you, at the moment I can't decide if I like him or not I'm so confused at the same time that I get it I also don't like how tf am I atracted by this man 😭 and then I'm like hmm he's acually cute let me search for some fanfiction

I'M SO CONFUSED I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE i guess I'll just wait to see what happens

you guys know that tiktok audio "at first I was like 'hmmm feet' as a joke,,,,, but bro....... I don't think that's a joke anymore...." (that's me rn but with Cedric)

Also I would like to take this oportunity that you're listening to me talking about Cedric to say the most important thing that this fandom needs to know:

We need more Cedric representations in Whimsical/Whimsigoth/Whimsigothic aesthetic it's like it was made for him just search that on Pinterest please you won't regret

And I'm here wondering what kind of songs he would listen to. I think he would like dark fantasy music, or witch music. I don't care if he's on medieval era and people didn't had access to a lot of music genres at that time, we are talking about disney nothing is historically correct

I can't help but think about Lana Del Rey but being a huge fan of her songs I don't think that it matches his tastes. I guess he maybe would like Aurora's last album, The Gods We Can Touch. I don't know why, it's the witchy vibes I guess. But I don't know, it's still not something that matches him a lot. EXCEPT FOR THE SONG MIDAS TOUCH FROM AURORA. IT'S PERFECT FOR HIM YOU GUYS SHOULD CHECK IT OUT

The cover isn't giving the aesthetic though, Aurora made this song for a show and then put the show album cover unfortunately. But her aesthetics are usually whimsical and magic, inspired by theatre, greek gods and tarot. This song is so good 😭

And of course there are songs like Everything Matters that fits his vibe but idk it depends on who's listening since it's not about the lyrics. The Innocent has a small part who matches him a little, the whole song has that witchy vibe dancing around the fire, I don't know how to describe it.

Coming back to Cedric I think my favorite scenario is him having an apprendice not too much younger than him. I think it's cute. I've never seen any fics like this (in fact I just read like 5 oneshots which is almost nothing) and if you guys know any let me know. I think it's just nice the idea of living with him and being his apprendice while having like a romantic tension between the two characters. It's cute

Also remember when I said I was going to talk a little more about the brazillian portuguese dub? So, something that I thought was really funny happened to me: In the first season he had his voice actor obviously and I was already used to his voice some time after watching the cartoon. It was very funny to me because the first time I saw a "scene compilation" of him it was in english, so hearing him talk in my language was fun. And btw his voice actor did a really good job voicing him, he (had a similar voice and) was really expressive just like his english VA, so like, really nice 👍

And then at some point in season two, from one episode to another, his voice actor suddently changed????? And obviously I got a little sad because his first VA was really good and I was used to his voice :( but the thing is: The new VA wasn't just a new one, IT'S THE SAME GUY WHO VOICED DR FLUG HERE IN BRAZIL AND I WAS LIKE OMG

THEY ARE SO SIMILAR IN PERSONALITY AND NOW THEY HAVE THE SAME VOICE WITH THE VOICE ACTOR'S MANNEIRISMS AND EVERYTHING (because that VA really has an specific way to talk, he stutter a little, sounds a little ironic but at the time really anxious, make some funny sounds for no reason sometimes like his screams)

I was really upset when they changed all the brazillian voice actors in Villanos, and that Flug didn't had his full-of-personality-and-expressive voice anymore :( the new episodes now have new voices and eveything, and they did their best, but it's not the original voices anymore and it doesn't hit the same yk? And then BAM CELDRIC HAS DOCTOR FLUGS VOICE NOW BITCH TAKE THIS

and the fact that Sofia The First was dubbed even before Villanos came out it's so funny to me

So yeah let me show you guys his amazing work at voicing two of my favorite characters:

After they changed Cedric's voice actor I was a little annoyed by the fact that I couldn't hear Cedric anymore, just Flug 😭 but now I'm slowly getting used to it and it's starting to sound like Cedric again.

Before that happened I could see some similarities between the two but I thought that I was just thinking too much and trying to connect two fandoms that I like, so I just forgot about it. After that happened my mind just blew it all make so much sense right now

And they are so similar in personality that I had to make a list of everything they have in common:

They work for guys that are completely blind to their talents and think that they're just idiots all the time

They have more potential than people think

Their projects/spells always go wrong because people keep disrupting their public moments, and so they are seen and weak and dumb (when they're not)

Science/Magic guys (they keep throwing liquids from one pot to another and saying difficult words, only for someone to stop them halfway and the substance explodes in their face, making them angry because this person once again interrupted their project that was going perfectly)

Self-confidence issues

Anxious mess, are always nervous and scared of something bad happening all the time

Childhood trauma because people never really saw their acomplishments and again and again kept repeating that they are idiots who don't know nothing (when they are geniuses!!)

They say that they're mean and they say that they do mean things when actually they are just really nice. They just choose that path because they think it's the only one that can bring them sucess and recognition in the future, but they were never made for this. They just do that because they want to proof their value to people who can't see it.

At the same time that they are mentally unstable, sometimes their confidence is so high that they start to act arrogant because "they're too smart and their projects are amazing": "I love what I do I'm the best sorcerer/scientist in the world"

But when they need to show that to people something bad always happens (because of other people!) And their plan fails, leaving them with confidence issues

"I can't do anything right omg i'm so stupid"

Their movements and maneirisms are so expressive, they're both skinny and tall and keep making those anxious poses, fidgeting with their hands, always anxious, scared of something, thinking too much and overall being nervous and ankward around their bosses

Boss just treats them as failures and gives them orders, in which they respond in the most submissive and saddest way because they're just miserable and just two little guys who are trying to proof their value in a place where no one even see them as people

But sometimes they are genuinely egoistic and egocentric because duh they're the best sorcerer/scientist out there, hello everybody is gonna know their name when they rule the world bye

They act so stupid and lovesick in their official crushes episodes, it's so funny

And even if we never saw Dr Flug's official face there is a design out there in the fandom where he has black hair with white streaks on his bangs so like 👍👍

any tips on making moodboards? I been trying & am not very good lol

*cracks knuckles* boy oh boy do I have some tips! or more like a walkthrough i guess?

The first step is to find a good app. I've found InShot to be simple to use (for photos, collages, and videos.) It's available on both android and apple, and while there is a paid version [which takes away ads, gives a few bonus filters, and removes the watermark from video files,] I've found it works just as well to use the paid version. It allows for many different layouts and canvas sizes, and up to nine images.

Next, find images! Think about what kind of moodboard you want to make, and think of some things that are iconic for it. For example, a Wonderland themed moodboard might include clocks and mushrooms and teacups, while a Rapunzel themed moodboard might include flower crowns and chalk drawings. I've found the best way to find an image to use is to google "[thing] aesthetic" or "[color] [thing] aesthetic." I've also found it can give the eye a nice break to include textures, like "[color] crochet blanket texture" or "wooden plank texture aesthetic." It gives your moodboards an almost palpable feel when put together properly.

Once you've found all the images you need, compile them into one image using the collage function on the app. Be sure to pick a layout and size you like. A basic 3 by 3 square is typical, but you can expand beyond that! Some layouts might even let you make some images cut off on the diagonal, or make one image larger than another. Also, this isn't insta; there's no law saying your moodboards have to be square- you could even make them the right size for a phone/computer wallpaper! Make sure to use the in-app crop feature to custom crop them so they're focused on exactly the part of the image you want them to be on. It also helps to rearrange images with a little symmetry (balancing similar colors, shapes, or patterns in opposite corners, thematic elements on opposite sides, ext.)

Next, edit each image. Yes, all of them. Yes, individually. No, don't just slap a filter on it. Trust me, this is so worth it! Here's a before and after of a moodboard's editing phase:

Find whatever "adjust" button your application uses (on inshot it just says "adjust)" and then tap the individual image. Play around with the sliders until you get the look you want for it. This is probably the most time-consuming part of the process, but trust me, it's worth it! The unique, custom filtering of each image will make a difference.

I recommend playing around with the sliders until you find the ones you feel most comfortable with. I tend to use sharpen, vignette (VERY sparingly!) hue, saturation, tint (usually just for green or purple moodboards) warmth (especially for red, orange, or blue moodboards,) contrast, and lightness.

Once you've edited all the images in your moodboard, tap "save" to download it.

Now, most people would be finished right now, but not us! One of my top secrets to making moodboards is, once you've made your moodboard, edit the whole entire thing together- again, using the adjust sliders instead of filters. Editing the whole thing at once adds this rich, uniform feel to it, making it one collage instead of a bunch of images. As an example, here's a moodboard I've made, before and after the bonus filtering:

Another thing I wanna say: whether you're posting on tumblr, insta, or pinterest (or all three, as I do, because I have too much free time,) you can always add alt text! Accessibility should be the standard, and when you add alt text, blind/vision impaired people who use screenreaders can know what your moodboard's about! If you don't know what to write in the alt text box, click the "alt" button on the above images, and you can read the description I used and base it off that!

Lastly, have fun! If moodboards aren't fun for you, don't feel pressured to make them! If you get a request for one you don't want to make, you're totally cool to deny it. Have a blast, babe!

Would it be weird to ask how you pick images for your moodboards?

not at all! here is my process:

-color-coding: obviously, at least some images in the board must be the blood color of the sign caste

-lunar sway "mood": prospit signs are lighter/happier, derse signs are darker/angstier. very rarely derse/prospit color coding will creep in

-visual reference to the aspect of the sign: this is a little more abstract, but: sky/birds/lungs for breath, clockwork for time, frogs or space for . space . bones/graves for doom, empty space or fog for void, angels for hope, lightning/shattered glass/broken objects for rage, blood or blood-like imagery for blood (or images of holding hands, physical connection to other people), brains/webs/computers for mind, plants for life, hearts for heart, and "light" (sun, gold things, northern lights, reflections, celestial phenomena) as well as dice or books for light. sometimes color-coded woth the aspect color

-relevant additional themes: here i look for images with text relevant to the request, animals, fashion, pictures of couples for relationship boards (if necessary), any image which could give the "feel" of my understandings of each class or internal state meant to be reflected in the board, or images pertaining to a specific aesthetic vibe/theme like whimsigoth or what have you

-texture images: these support the color-coding, provide associative transitions from one image to the next, and generally serve to make the disparate elements of a given request cohere into an aesthetically unified whole.

then, of course, arrangement. once i have selected the images, i spend time laying them out in a way that is pleasing to the eye and draws the focus to other images in the board. this means flipping images so that their focus points "inward" or "outward," shifting them around so that images that are cut off in certain areas are on the edges or corners, and occasionally editing the images to, again, assert color-coding in cases where the additional themes leave little room to affirm a given unique sign. many requests are so heavy with additional themes that the only reference i can devote to the sign itself is color-coding, with maybe one or two visual nods to the aspect.

i prioritize photographs over drawings and graphics---if my board includes a pride flag, it's a photograph of a physical flag, meaning that i have to get creative for labels which do not have photos of physical flags. i also never include a graphic of the sign itself, to devote more space to the symbolism of the board i'm working on. i do not use anime screencaps or images from cartoons, though i do use movie stills.

i know for most people, moodboards are just "a vibe." some people don't seem to understand that while yes, i am working towards the depiction of an emotional vibe, i am doing so using a specific visual language in a limited amount of space, and straight up . . . it's extremely difficult to find usable photos of non-physical, temporally bounded things like ambivalence towards a relationship or nuanced inner feelings. ("unusable photos" being things like shutterstock images of "couples quarreling" or "woman thinking over salad".) if a requester wants an abstract state represented visually, it's helpful if they provide their own symbols for the theme they're trying to actualize . . . but if every single one of the nine images is dictated to me in the form of symbol-themes, it's like . . . where is the room for the actual sign in all this, and why are you coming to me if your vision is strong enough for you to just make your own board? (i do put a decent amount of time and effort into each board and rely on a large stockpile of saved photos, but . . . even just starting out, it did not take me long to make a decent board.)

i use pixlr to arrange and edit my moodboards and gather my images from tumblr, google images, unsplash, pexels, and when i was starting out i did use pinterest (but i don't have an account lol)

Summary: After stress and frustration have left you feeling broken, you find yourself being comforted by a demon. You know you’re dreaming, but you soon realize that he’s giving you an opportunity to be with him, somewhere between dreams and reality. (Fluff, and some angst)

Warnings: Descriptions of stress, mentions of church and religion (very brief, and the reader is not religious in this story), negative thoughts, emotionally insecure reader, crying, pet names, kissing

If I’ve left out any content warnings or made any mistakes writing for a gender neutral reader, please let me know, so I can correct them, and make this story as inclusive as possible.

(The moodboard and divider were created by me, using images and gifs found on Tumblr, Twitter, Pinterest and Google, and the gif and picture within the story are from here on Tumblr as well. Full credit for these images and gifs goes to the owners).

You were almost relieved when you finally made your way to your bed that night. You had immediately buried your face in your pillow and then, after having put up with what felt like an endless loop of malevolent thoughts and feelings swirling around inside your head and attacking you relentlessly and viciously, you finally let the tears escape your eyes.

Your strained sobs filled the darkness of your bedroom, and the last thing you remember thinking before you drifted out of consciousness for the night was that you wished you didn’t have to be alone while you felt this way.

The next thing you knew, there were arms wrapped around your waist, as someone behind you rested their chin on your shoulder.

“Aww, what’s wrong sweetheart?” a voice cooed in your ear.

You jumped, turning around immediately, and you were met with someone you had never seen before. He was tall, slim, and had coppery red hair. Your eyes drifted downwards and you saw that he was wearing a grey shirt and scarf, with a black jacket and vest, as well as matching black trousers and shoes. Your gaze snapped back up to his face and you gasped softly.

His eyes were a bright, golden yellow, with narrow slits in the centre of each one. They were like nothing you had ever seen, and they were beautiful.

“Shh, it’s alright. There’s nothing to be afraid of” he purred, rubbing his hand over your hip in small circles.

There was a gentle, concerned look in those eyes, and after all the stress you had been through, it apparently didn’t matter that you had never met him, you didn’t know his name, not even that you could feel in your mind that this was all a dream. His attention was on you. You weren’t alone anymore.

You tried to take a deep breath, but all that left your lips was a whimper. Then you were suddenly clinging to his jacket, while you hid your face in his chest. You could feel your tears soaking his clothes, as you held on to to him desperately, as though being near him would make everything better.

“Oh, darling”

He wrapped his arms around you and rubbed your back soothingly. “You can cry to me, I’ve got you. You have nothing to be ashamed of”.

Hearing his words, having someone tell you that it was okay to let your feelings out, somehow seemed to make you even more aware of it all. All the thoughts, the emotions, the frustration, the fear.

You cried as though you were trying to force all the pain you were feeling out of you, and he held you the entire time, hushing you softly. After what felt like a long time, your sobs had stopped and your breathing was shallow as you tried to regain your composure.

“Breathe, sweetheart. Come back to me.” He whispered, running his hand up and down your side.

When you had gotten your breathing under control, you let go of his jacket and looked at him once again. “What am I doing?” You asked, both because you were embarrassed and because this felt different from your other dreams, yet you didn’t know why.

“What d’you you mean?” He asked, brushing tear tracks off your face with his thumb.

“I know I’m dreaming, that none of this is actually happening. It’s not real”. You stated, though there was some disappointment in your voice that you tried to pretend you didn’t hear.

“You’re right, this is a dream. Your dream, but it’s happening, right now. You’re in control of everything you do here”.

“Where is here? What’s going on?” you questioned him, as you stepped back and began looking around. The first thing you noticed was an ornate gold and red throne in the centre of the room. The only other furniture was a grand, golden desk, the top of which looked to be made of deep red marble.

“Come over here. I’ll explain everything.” he suggested, offering you his hand. He led you over to the desk and picked you up, placing you so that you sat on the end that was closest to the throne, with your legs dangling off the edge. He sat with one of his hands resting on the expertly carved armrest, and the other draped across his leg.

Looking at him in that moment, you realized that this room seemed to mirror his appearance in some ways. The hard lines and dark interior were reminiscent of his perfectly tailored clothing, but then, as your eyes drifted back upwards, to his golden ones that seemed to hold fire within them, you thought that he looked as though he belonged on that throne, like it was made for him. There was no question about it. This was his domain, and here, he was in charge.

“How is this happening?” You asked him again. “Who are you?”

He told you his name was Crowley, and that he was a demon. That revelation gave you pause, to say the least.

“A demon?” You repeated, feeling an incredulous grin lift the corners of your lips.

“I take it you’re not the religious type, love. No churchgoer I’ve ever heard of would be beaming the way you are after finding out they’re in the same room as one of my lot”.

An amused laugh left your lips before you replied, “You’re right, I’m not religious, but I’ve been fascinated by demons for a long time”.

(You saw his lips curl into a smirk at that statement).

“I’ve never actually believed in them though”.

“To tell you the truth, I wouldn’t blame you if you still didn’t, but for what it’s worth, demons, angels, ‘the powers that be’,” he drawled, with a bit of an amused scoff in his voice on the last one. “It’s all as real as you are”.

“Normally I’d roll my eyes and probably laugh in the morning at the nonsense my brain came up with, but,”

You looked into his eyes, then you examined the room once again, focusing on the incredibly high ceilings for a moment, before continuing slowly and thoughtfully.

“This feels too real. As silly as this sounds, just looking at you I can tell that, whatever this is, it’s not like any dream I’ve ever had”.

He smiled. “Honey, you’ve got no idea”.

The eye roll you had mentioned made an appearance at that comment, but the corner of your lips twitched up into a smirk that was all amusement and curiosity.

“Exactly. I don’t, so why don’t you tell me what you’re doing in one of my dreams, and how this all works in the first place”.

His playful expression became more gentle and the fiery glow in his eyes seemed deeper now.

“Do you remember the last thing you thought before you fell asleep tonight?”

You froze for a moment. “I- yes”. You replied, as the tightness you had felt in your throat earlier returned.

“What was it?” He prompted, though there was no demanding or mocking tone in his voice. He spoke softly and waited patiently for you to answer him.

“I wished I wasn’t alone”.

“Yes, you did,” he replied. There was a lightness in his words now, as though he was proud that you had told him the truth. “That’s why I’m here”.

“What?” You breathed. The very thought that he knew that made more unshed tears sting the back of your eyes.

“Come here sweetheart” he cooed, holding his hand out to you. You simply stared for a moment, wishing it wasn’t so painfully obvious how self-conscious you felt. “It’s alright, I promise.” He encouraged you, and after another moment of hesitation, you took his hand in yours and he guided you onto his lap.

“You’re here with me because I can be the one you come to when you’re upset. From now on, whenever you go to sleep, and you’re worried, or stressed, whenever something is bothering you, no matter what it is, if you want me, I’ll be here”.

You were silent for a bit, as you let his words sink in. You looked down at your hands as you remembered time after time that it had all become too much, and you would shame and insult yourself for feeling the way you did.

As if he could tell (which, if he knew your hope from earlier that night, he probably could), he drew lines across the back of your hand with his thumb, attempting to soothe your unease.

“Look at me”.

You looked up, but you didn’t think you could look him in the eye right then. Your gaze drifted to the side of his face, where you noticed a beautiful tattoo of a black snake, which you began tracing with your eyes. He gently turned your head so you were face to face and when he could tell you were focused on him, he told you:

“Wanting someone to be with you when things are difficult doesn’t make you weak. It takes strength to admit it, to yourself or anyone else. I know you can handle so much on your own, and you know it too, but that doesn’t mean that the times you can’t are times that you’ve failed”.

He wasn’t telling you anything you didn’t already know, but you had never actually believed that, no matter how much you had always tried to.

“I just- I always feel like something is wrong with me”.

“No darling, there’s nothing wrong with you. That’s the truth,” he insisted, “and you’re the one who needs to believe it, but it’s okay to want to hear it from someone else.”

“Do you really want to do this? What would you get out of it anyway?” you wondered. You just couldn’t believe that he, that anyone, would want to be there every time you felt like the world was about to end.

“I get to be with you”.

“Why would you want that in the first place?”

“What kind of a question is that?” he asked, seeming more taken aback by your words than anything.

“I mean, look at right now. Why would you want to be with me every time this happens? There are who knows how many things that make me want to cry, or scream, every day. Why would you want to deal with that? I don’t even want to deal with it”.

“We both know that you don’t feel that way all the time, love, even though you feel like you do”. His tone remained just as kind as it had been this entire time, but in that moment, it left no room for argument.

“Listen to me, even if you come to me every day and night and tell me every single thing that’s on your mind, I won’t ever grow tired of you, or think of you as anything other than the strong, wonderful person that you are”.

You had been hanging on to his every word, but once again you couldn’t look at him. Still, what he had said was beginning to get through to you, and it meant more than you felt like you could explain.

“Do you really mean that?” you asked him, hoping to do away with the disbelief that still clawed at the corners of your mind.

“I mean it. All of it”. he answered without hesitation.

Your eyes found his again and you were amazed that you’d managed not to cry. “I don’t know what to say”.

“It’s a yes or a no, love. Whatever you want, that’s what you’ll get.” He assured you, his thumb tracing your face in the spot where he’d brushed away your tears earlier.

You closed your eyes for a moment, focusing on the feeling of his hand against your skin.

“Yes. This is what I want”. You answered, wrapping your arms around him and resting your head in the crook of his neck.

He held you the same way he had done earlier that night as he whispered, “Then I’ll be here for you, sweetheart. I’ll take care of you”.

You looked up at him after a moment, replaying all the events of the night in your mind. He had offered you what you had been hoping for for as long as you could remember, and although you tried to stop yourself, you wondered what you had done to deserve it.

“What’s going on in that pretty little head of yours?” he hummed, studying your thoughtful expression.

You had told him that this is what you wanted, and in that moment, you were doing your best to accept how true that really was. You wanted to be with him. You wanted his attention, his reassurance, his affection.

“I- well,” you began, attempting to still your trembling hands.

You had wanted to keep your eyes on his, but they involuntarily flickered down to his lips as you tried to tell him what you were thinking, and he noticed immediately.

He sensed your apprehension, and without hesitation, he told you, “If you want me to kiss you, all you have to do is ask”.

Your face burned as you paused for a moment before explaining, “It’s just- I feel like anything I ask of you would be something you do just to make me feel better. Would you actually want to kiss me?”

“Sweetheart, everything I do when I’m here with you, is because it’s what I choose to do. Because it’s what I want. Yes, I want to kiss you, and I will whenever you want me to, but I need to hear it from you”.

You repeated his words in your mind and once you felt ready, you nodded. “Okay.” you replied, trying to cast aside the last of your hesitation. “Could you kiss me?”

His expression melted into a sweet smile and he ran his thumb across your lower lip. “I knew you could do it”.

He leaned in and pressed his lips against yours, placing his hand on the side of your face, and you felt him grin against your lips when you kissed him back. You let him take the lead, and he was gentle and patient with you the entire time. Just before you pulled away from each other, he nipped softly at your lower lip. He laughed faintly at your surprised gasp, then he pecked your lips once again.

You smiled bashfully at him before laying your head on his shoulder, and the two of you stayed that way for a while, just relaxing together. You thought about what your dreams could be like from that point on, while Crowley admired the peaceful look on your face, as you toyed with his scarf.

Eventually you spoke again. “How long do I get to stay with you?”

“Any time you go to sleep, as long as you want to come back, you’ll wind up here with me. You can leave whenever you’re ready, even if you’re not ready to wake up yet.” He explained. “Time doesn’t work the way that you’re used to around here”. He added with a mischievous grin.

“Why am I not surprised?” you replied, amusement lacing your words.

“There’s only one thing I need from you”.

What would a demon with the power to combine dreams and reality ask in return for his affection? You realized, as you anticipated his request, that you were essentially living what could be the plot of a gothic novel.

That somehow felt right to you.

You looked up at him, and he told you, “I need you to always be completely honest with me about whatever you’re feeling. Even if it’s difficult to say, I need you to tell me”.

You wished that that was as simple as it sounded.

He placed his hand on the side of your jaw. “I’m not going to judge you. You don’t have to hide anything from me”. He reassured you, as you leaned into his touch.

“Will you do that for me?”

You were silent for a moment, picturing what that might be like.

“I need to hear it, darling. Just like before”.

You took a deep breath, then you nodded. “I will”.

“Good”.

With that, he pulled you closer to him and kissed you deeply.

“You’ve had a long day, and a long night, for that matter. Do you want to stay here or do you feel like being by yourself for a while?”

“I want to stay here. I’ve only just met you, after all. I want to know more”. You told him.

“About?”

“All of this. About you, about this place, about demons, whatever you can tell me”.

“Well,” he began, his lips tilted upwards into a smirk and there was a glint in his eyes that told you he was someone who had many, many stories to tell. “Where do I begin?” He sighed, though it was obvious that he knew exactly what he wanted to say next.

“Ah, I know.” He grinned.

He snapped his fingers and suddenly a book that had been next to a pair of sunglasses on his desk, “The Extremely Big Book of Astronomy”, opened, and some of the pages zipped out and began drifting through the air. An awestruck, soundless gasp left your lips as he reached up and took hold of a textless one that displayed a nebula, holding it so you could both see.

“See that? I helped build it”.

“You what?” You were still wide eyed and slack jawed.

He pointed to a particular area of the nebula and said, “There? All me”.

“Beautiful.” you breathed, and he beamed at the way your eyes were sparkling.

“Wait a minute. You helped create the stars?”

“That I did”.

“How old are you?”

You hadn’t meant to come off as rude or insulting, but when you heard yourself, your face instantly heated up and your gaze snapped down to your lap.

Thankfully an airy laugh drifted from his lips in response and he leaned down so his forehead was against yours.

“Oh, honey”.

You couldn’t help but laugh along with him.

“I’ll give you a hint,” He began, motioning for you to stand. You did, and he did the same, before leading you over to the framed sketch on the wall at the back of the room. The Mona Lisa.

He stood behind you and wrapped his arms around your waist, resting his chin on your shoulder once again. “This is stunning”. You mused, having always loved art.

“Do you speak Italian?”

“No, I wish I did”.

He gestured to the inscription: “Al mio amico Antonio dal tuo amico Leo da V.”

“That says, “To my friend Anthony from your friend Leo da V.””

“Anthony? Is that your first name?” You asked him, smiling.

“Not literally, no. I made it up. Helps to have one when you’re a demon among humans”.

“Anthony Crowley?” You hummed amusedly. “I like it”. He rolled his eyes at that, his smile mirroring yours.

“Are you telling me you knew Leonardo da Vinci?”

“According to him, her husband-“ he told you, nodding towards Lisa Gherardini, “had a few things to say about the final painting”.

Incredulous laughter bubbled from your lips. “Where else have you been?”

“Where haven’t I been? I suppose it’s cause I’ve been around since the beginning”.

“The beginning?” You repeated, wondering if he meant what you thought he did.

“I know you’re not religious, but you’ve more than likely heard this one before-“.

You want to write.

It shouldn't be that hard: you simply need to sit down, and type. In fact, you are already sitting down. But you are scrolling down on Tumblr, once again, reading about your mutual's amazing works, and their compelling plots, and their amazing characters, and- You stop. No, you promised yourself you would work on your project today. It excites you, you have had it itching on your mind while you were busy, and now that you are free, alone in your room and with the whole afternoon for yourself, you can finally scratch that itch.

You quit Tumblr. The calendar Widget accuses you, looking at you with all the tasks that are still marked red throughout the week, a parade of errands, deadlines, and appointments that stretch along the month. Feeling your anxiety kick in, you make sure nothing is as urgent as to keep you distracted today. Nothing is. Except maybe that hang out with your friends this Saturday: you still haven't checked the public transport schedule. Quickly, you type your destination and calculate which is the best bus to take. Most options are good enough, but you opt for the one that will let you eat peacefully and still catch the bus with no hurry. Having decided, you get into your friend's group chat and let them know you will be there at 15:30. When the new message makes the others move, you notice how old your wallpaper is. It annoys you.

You slip into your Photo Album and scroll around in search of a new wallpaper. Nothing convinces you. Most are too bright for your liking, and not very aesthetic. Pinterest is the solution. Your recommended page catches your eye for a second, but you power through because you have already lost enough time, and you are here on a quest. Or you would be, if not for the fact you just found a picture that just summarized the feeling of your project in a single image. You save it to your pin board, and a tiny lightbulb lights up in your mind. You could craft a moodboard. The image you found is perfect, you may be able to put something together. There were these pictures at the beginning of the board that could look amazing in the corners. Maybe downloading them and heading over to PicsArt will do the trick.

It looks great after some mingling. You choose pics, delete others, and manage to put together a moodboard you are very proud of. So you head over to Tumblr to post it, format the post to look amazing and spend some time tagging funny quotes. You wonder if you should add more Easter Eggs, but after reflecting on it, you post it as it is. Then, you check your feed to make sure you aren't missing anything, and find out your favourite mutual just published an excerpt. After reading it, a plot bunny is born in your head. You are not sure of the logistics, though, so you open a new tab in Google and do a little research. Just a little, because your current project mustn't be overridden by this new idea. You go back to your home screen and slide into Spotify to choose some music. If you are going to write, you need to set the mood, of course. Now, what would be the best playlist? A scary one for that tension scene you've been eager to write? Suggestive since the main character and the love interest are about to confess to each other? Maybe just some chill music to drown the background noise. That would be the best. Now that you have the music, you have to find the position because your back is killing you from being lying down all day.

A notification catches your attention: your friends are confirming they are up to hanging out on Saturday. You get in to send a "hahaha". Then you start the song again because this tiny distraction disrupted the flow. And now, now! Now you can begin writing.

You open your story and reread your last paragraph. And you remember why you stopped last time: you were supposed to find a name for this new character. You stopped writing because no name you thought about encapsulated the essence of this new person who randomly decided to appear in your project. The imactivity causes the screen to go black.

It's obvious: you are not in control anymore, up to the point that this project is taking a toll on you. But, oh, all your Tumblr friends, all these amazing stories you read... they do seem to know what they are doing. Unlike you, they do write, because they do know how to, and they are good at it. And, meanwhile, here you are, unable to get a single word down even though you are craving to do it.

Maybe you simply have to learn from them, pick up the clues they leave, and study how they build their chapters. Maybe you have to read a lot more. That's it. That's what you have to do.

Don’t worry, my child. I will happily explain some terms for you~ 😌

Maladaptive Daydreaming - the strong compulsion to daydream (usually as a coping mechanism)

Paracosm - A daydream “world” in the daydreamer's mind (usually held from childhood, but can be recently made, too)

Para - A daydream character in a given paracosm (can be based of a fictional character, based off of a real person, created by the daydreamer, or any combination of the three)

Veritbond - A para that the daydreamer has a strong emotional connection to (but this is a very broad term that has different meanings, depending on who you're talking to)

2023 Fanfic Writing Reflections

1. What fic did you work on the most this year?

I guess Blood Ties

2. Did you have any fic writing goals? Did you meet them?

I wanted to complete Whumptober and I did it!

3. How many fics did you work on this year?

Everything that is posted on my blog was written this year.

4. Do you have a favourite fic you wrote?

I really like The Dixon Chronicles

5. What's your favourite passage that you wrote this year?

Passage?

6. Favourite line of dialogue this year?

In fact, the first time he had willingly come to sit next to you by the fire was just after you had asked him if he was “violating the Georgia sodomy law by having his head that far up his own ass.”

7. Favourite POV? (or rather what POV did you use the most this year?)

Reader or Daryl. Almost always.

8. Did you find yourself repeating a word or phrase in your writing this year? If so, what was it?

I started using the word “ain’t”, even outside of writing.

9. How did you help other writers this year? (i.e. leaving comments, reviews, beta reading, offering advice, etc)

I try to always like as well as reblog. There were a few people that I encouraged to put their writing out there if they were ready.

10. Did you receive any advice that resonated to you this year?

Write for myself and write the character the way I see them.

11. What did you enjoy most about writing fic this year?

I was able to escape the bad things in my life and absorb myself in my writing. I met some wonderful people because of it.

12. What did you enjoy the least?

Writers block is the worst.

13. Who was your favourite character to write for?

Daryl Dixon.

14. Did you have a song on repeat while writing this year?

Each of my fics and series have songs attached to them. I listened to those to write and keep the focus of the story.

I did not.

I made the header images for all of my work but my favorites are the moodboards from @dustbunniess and @dannyo000 by far!

Whumptober and I was a completionist!

19. What was your favourite comment/review you received this year?

I refuse to pick just one. So many lovely people left so many encouraging words. There’s no way that I can narrow that down to one. 💙

My very first smut- Skin You with My Tongue

21. Were there any ideas you wanted to work on this year but you didn't?

I have several saved in my notes.

22. Were there any new fandoms or genres you explored this year?

Just The Walking Dead

23. Is there anything you want to write or try to explore in your writing next year?

I really want to dive into the Caryl ship and explore what could have/should have been. I would also like to do some AU with that.

24. Do you have a goal for next year? If so, what is it?

To participate in more challenges/events!

25. What are your hopes and/or desires for yourself and for other fic writers in the next year?

I myself would like to write more for myself and encourage others to do the same. Make it what you want and then when you feel comfortable, share it with the world.

Probably Abundance of the Heart. It’s an ongoing Caryl AU fic.

28. Who was your favourite fic author this year?

There is no way I can narrow that down to just one. So many creative writers with so many works that spoke to me in one way or another.

29. What fics or authors would you recommend for others to discover and read in the next year?

@weretheones @sinsandsweetness @walker-bait-1973 @bananafire11 @unhingedbiatch @lazyneonrabbitt @writella @loganlostitall and I know of so so many but my brain won’t let me have them right now.

30. What advice would you have for people who might want to try writing or sharing their writing next year?

Same thing I said previously: write what you want and for yourself. And then, if you feel like sharing, share it. If you don’t, don’t. Make it what you want. What you enjoy.

do you find all of the pictures on pinterest? and if yes what do u type to search them? like „black/red/any color aesthetic“ or something else? like in your last post (with the kisses) i can never find cute red pictures like that ;(

yes hun all my pics are from pinterest and occasionally from moodboards on tumblr. honestly you need the premium membership to be able to have access to such pics— JUST KIDDING,, (⁠◡⁠ ⁠ω⁠ ⁠◡⁠) so like yeah exactly i search "color/shade aesthetic" or "theme aesthetic" and then extensively browse until i find ones i like, for example i search for a blueberry aesthetic then from the pics that show up i click on the one that i like the most and then scroll down to see similar ones then click on ones i like most to see similar ones and so on until i find the perfect ones.

the pictures in my last post are from pinterest i came across them randomly while looking through the pins on my homefeed, honestly i suggest looking through random aesthetic pins more than specifically searching them up in that way you'll usually find better ones, at least that's how it works for me :)

Hiii Winter!

I was wondering if you have any advice for people who want to write self-shipping but struggle to actually write them? I so badly want to write for myself like this but when I get ready to write them, I feel silly about my ideas 🥲 You write them so well and so easily!

Aww I totally can relate!! I couldn't even read character x reader stories at first because I felt so strange about imagining myself with my faves. But yeah, reading + writing reader inserts helped me a lot to grow more comfortable with the idea!! But it's still much harder to write something about myself and my fave because it can feel too personal.

What always works for me is making playlists and Pinterest boards and moodboards. Maybe that could be a good way for you to start selfshipping. When I listen to my playlists, I see a story play in my head and that's how my selfship lore develops gradually.

Other than that, I can just say: Fuck it 😂😂 I feel embarrassed too sometimes when I post stuff, but after all, it is Tumblr, and we are all here to post about how we are in love with a fictional character. And I think the selfship community is very nice and supportive. At least the people I am following or who are my moots 💗 I love seeing other people's selfship posts and their commissions and everything. And so far, people have been really nice to me too about my selfships.

I hope you can find a way to write about your selfship that feels good to you 💗💗 But it's also absolutely ok to just imagine it for yourself and not actually write it down. Maybe start with the playlist and moodboard and daydream a bit while you do that, and maybe after a while you will feel comfortable about going a step further. That's how it worked for me.

If you have any questions about any part of the challenge, please feel free to send in an ask or DM. But here are some common questions below the break. It will be updated as more questions come in:

What is the prompt?

"Last summer was one no one could ever forget. Now, a year later, character(s) still feel(s) the effects of that time."

Does it have to be set one year after Top Gun: Maverick?

No. While you can set it then if you would like, your creation can be set literally whenever you want. Anywhere from the Big Bang to the collapse of the universe (or beyond!).

Can I use characters from Top Gun (1986) without mentioning Top Gun: Maverick?

Absolutely! While this challenge is timed around the anniversary of Top Gun: Maverick, the release of that film also reignited a love for the original and helped that part of the fandom grow as well. So if you prefer the OG characters, go right ahead and use them!

What sort of medium is allowed for the challenge?

Literally, anything you can think of! Writing, artworks, GIF sets, edits, moodboards, playlists, Pinterest boards, etc. If you want to decorate a cake with a scene or make a piece of needlepoint, those are allowed too! However you express yourself is a valid way to enter the challenge.

The only exception is that AI resources are NOT allowed. While I know people may have differing opinions when it comes to the use of AI in art or fanart. the point of this challenge is for creators to show their individuality through their art. Not a computer programs ability to compile information. So, any submissions involving AI will not be reblogged.

Are there any minimum or maximum guidelines to follow?

There are NO minimum or maximum limits for words, time, number of GIFs, etc. WIPs are also permitted if you want to submit it now and finish it later.

Can I do more than one submission?

Sure! If you want to write three fics, draw two pieces of art, and make a moodboard, go for it!

What if I am about to post and see someone else has a similar idea already posted?

Then please still post yours! The spirit of the event is to demonstrate how diverse and unique we all are even when we have similar elements. So just because someone else's submission might have the same pairing and trope, I guarantee their creation is not the same as yours. Because no one else will ever be able to recreate the exact story you want to share. Because only you can tell that story your way.

If I'm under 18 can I participate?

Unfortunately, no. Since this challenge allows NSFW content, it is only open to those 18 and older. So in order for your work to be eligible to be reblogged, your blog must have your age indicated on it (18+, 20s, over 21, 35, etc.). Sorry to any minors who were looking to participate. But hopefully, this is successful and we might do it again when you would be old enough to join in!

Is AI generated art of any kind allowed?

No. Since this challenge is focused on our differences as creators that make our art unique, AI generated submissions are not allowed.

If I post on AO3 and share the link on tumblr, can that count as a submission?
