🌊Writober PumpSea🌊 #day 1 - Ace
Tumblr media
Ace is simply Ace.
Since you’ve known him, there hasn’t been a day when you haven’t discovered a new side to his character. Of course at first he was very wary, angry and wanted to kill Santa, but then you began to know him and since then you have not been able to help but be attracted to his light, just like a moth.
There are no terms to describe or re-enter it, Ace is funny, playful, carefree, strong, charismatic, warm, if it were a flower you would say it is a sunflower or a Hibiscus.
Despite his moments no Ace is sunny, loyal and ready to get involved when someone cares.
Ace is a whirlwind of emotions that burn your soul.
You wouldn’t have imagined all this coming from one guy.
Your love story started by chance, spending your free time together (or rather Barbabianca had asked you to keep an eye on him and maybe talk to him, since the girls have a good influence on the boys according to him and so it had been). Somehow you managed to penetrate that armor of distrust that Ace had wanted to erect, you began to talk to him unassuming - but he was never rude to you - and slowly made you get closer. A chat every now and then, a stolen laugh here and there, an exchange of jokes and a few attacks of narcolepsy that made him end up in the sea or on you and suddenly you found each other near the heart of the other, small, unpretentious gestures.
Ace became calmer and calmer, less quarrelsome and also very friendly with the whole crew, he was understanding that he could find in your wacky crew a family that would embrace him for what he was.
So when he joined the family you were over the moon, you didn’t believe he’d agreed - even though Dad was sure he would eventually.
You were the first person he said it to and out of emotion you hugged him hard, jumping around his neck, turning red the second after. But you started spending more time together talking about yourselves, sharing some missions together here and there, and fighting side by side.
Nothing to say that immediately after the betting started on the two of you, and Satch’s comment was what triggered it all: "God lose a room! That you’re undressing with your eyes." The commander of the fourth division was always direct and a gossip to death - even if you loved him very much - and maybe he did it to help you or just to spite you but the situation that created itself was unreal.
Dad laughed with taste - he was the worst gossip - the others who began to argue and point how long you would get together and Ace chased Satch all over the ship while you took refuge behind Marco to try to calm the beat of your heart. Luckily your big brother understood the situation and took you out with an excuse by glaring at anyone who dared to say something - although then the gossip is resumed once you went out - and told you not to worry, that everyone would be happy if you got together.
You didn’t sleep that night because of your heartbeat, and you were sure, even Ace wasn’t sleeping.
But Ace did not stray from you, indeed maybe you seemed to be even closer, more caring, more protective and with a more casual flirtation.
And you didn’t deny yourself all this, no. You wanted to live it slowly, savoring every single moment of that slow, silent courtship you started.
"Come to watch with me tonight?" A silent invitation to be close. Being a lookout was a task for you every now and then (although most of your siblings preferred to know that you were warm and safe, even though you knew how to defend yourself well) and Ace was always ready to keep you company. So the watch area was full of blankets (because the night was cold), thermos full of coffee to fight sleep, a good book to read in two and a pair of binoculars to look at the horizon. The nights on guard you spent chatting, reading and looking at the horizon, until the first rays of the sun, when Marco arrives to check if you were awake, a couple of times he caught you sleeping together, You wrapped in blankets and Ace hugging you to keep you warm. At least Marco was discreet in waking you, on the contrary Satch was tremendous (Izo had filmed him not a few times for this).
"You should know that our little sister is just starting out." Satch was too serious, so serious Ace had never seen him and did not expect such a conversation at that time at four in the morning inside Marco’s cabin.
He had been taken by the commander of the fourth division while on guard.
Izo had struck himself on the forehead with the exasperation of being involved in such a situation, Marco had raised his eyes to the sky because he did not even want to imagine the situation that would be created by them little and Ace had swallowed almost choking with his own saliva. He knew they were very protective of you, but not to that extent.
"So don’t you dare even think about getting your hands on her Ace! Do you understand?" Satch had become too apprehensive and protective as an older brother, as demonstrated by his iron grip on poor Ace. So he caught you guys hugging each other, it was just a simple hug. He was trying to explain it to Ace, trying not to choke.
"Just leave them alone." Said Izo as he hit him on the head and Ace nor take advantage to escape from the three, he was not ready for that kind of discussion, not with all three older brothers together.
Ace was running along the deck of the ship, Satch was on his tail, and to lose him he would have to come up with something soon.
"Ace, what’s all the fuss?" You asked seeing him come running and thinking the worst when he picked you up and put the turbo on. Only then did you see Satch running after you and you realized what had happened: "Quick turn right there is a closet that’s right for us." You told him to hold on tighter so you wouldn’t feel the sudden turn. You crawled into a closet and locked it up behind you.
"What did Satch tell you?!" You turned red, damn his big mouth, Ace held you tight to him, you were sitting on the ground, you between his legs. He told you what happened.
"I’m sorry, Ace." You said leaning more on him, you could feel his heartbeat, it was accelerating.
"So I’m your first experience?" He said it to break the tension that had created, Ace stroked your hair to give you a little 'peace of mind, he liked to caress your hair and play with it to make braids and hairstyles.
You nodded, leaning better against his chest, you couldn’t look him in the eye out of embarrassment, you would have preferred to tell him in person a little further, maybe and Satch had ruined everything.
Ace laughed softly and squeezed you in, whispering in your ear, "You are also my first experience." You opened your eyes wide in surprise, starting to stutter nonsense. It was impossible, no girl or woman could resist a boy like him.
And yet Ace has repeatedly confirmed it to you by smiling softly.
"You’re the only girl I’m interested in, but I don’t want to run and ruin anything." He told you to calm you down, and Ace was sincere enough to make your heart beat painfully.
"Really?" You asked timidly, to say you were red was to say little.
"Really." he replied, looking at you and smiling with that grin that made him even more adorable.
"So you want to move on?" That was a simple question, but knowing the answer would silence the buzzing in your ears.
"Only if you give me permission, Honey." Ace replied, becoming serious and staring into the eyes. He was really waiting for your permission before he did anything.
"Then you should kiss me." You said while leaning against her forearms to have a firmer position. You approached him slowly, almost afraid of doing something wrong, and it was Ace who filled the gap between you by putting his lips on yours.
It was a chaste and simple kiss, nothing more, no running. Just the two of you clinging to each other with hearts beating at the same time.
Then the closet suddenly opened and Ace fell backwards and you fell on him.
"Ace, what are you doing to our sister?" Satch was furious.
"What happened?" Izo stood next to you and helped you get up as Marco stared at your red cheeks.
You didn’t answer, you knew they’d figure it out eventually, and you ran to your room.
You left very early that day, White Beard had assigned you a fairly delicate task, spying and in case you destroy a Navy ship that seemed to have requisitioned a treasure that was on your own island.
So you packed a very fast backpack and left at dawn on Ace’s Striker. The navigation fortunately did not last long, you arrived in a few hours on the island and after hiding your boat you started looking for the marines and using the element of surprise you managed to knock them out and make them run away with their ship.
Fortunately, the treasure was still in place.
"What are you doing?" Ace had finished lighting the fire in your makeshift camp.
"I warn Dad and others that the mission was successful." You answered as you dialed the channel through which to communicate.
"Let’s do it later." Ace kindly took your transmitter and after making sure it wasn’t working he put it in your bag.
At first you didn’t understand, then you put together the pieces of the puzzle. You had a night to yourself, without having to worry about your intrusive companions.
"So what do we eat for dinner?" asked Ace ready to go and look into the food in the jungle.
"The marines have left their supplies ashore, look at the meat." You answered by taking him by the arm and dragging him into the shed, there were so many things you could cook.
"Satch taught you to cook well." Ace was lying on the sand you were sitting between him and the fire you had lit, the tent was not far from you.
"He’s a good big brother." You said playing with sand and making little circles on it. Suddenly the voice had died in your throat and you didn’t know what to say or what to talk about.
"Well, you took the Marines out with your Haki." You said turning to Ace, the guy got up, and now he was inches from your face.
A look, a grin and your lips are again resting on each other.
Ace had soft and warm lips and you almost instinctively tasted them moderating them a little, and he let you do it, taking advantage of it to taste you in turn. His big hands slipped on your hips to hold him and you jumped in place when you felt something hard near your groin.
"Is everything okay?" Ace sincerely worried about you and only after he realized he had gone a little too fast.
"Yes Ace is all right, just... I mean..." You stuttered and that was not the time to stutter, you took a deep breath: "Continue." You said with a thread of voice taking his hat and moving it on the sand.
Ace brought your hands back to your hips and brought you closer to him again, creating a friction between your groins that made you sigh to both of you. Both of you were red in your face and you felt your heart so strong that it looked like it was coming out of your chest.
You scratched his shoulder with your fingernails when the kiss you exchanged became more enterprising. His tongue was looking for yours and caressing it with a need you couldn’t describe. You feel like you’re burning up, which is why you’re holding on to him a little bit more by pulling on his black hair.
Ace smiled inside your kiss and his fingers left deeper marks on your hips.
You went away just to breathe.
Ace leaned against your forehead, shortness of breath, and his eyes fixed on yours.
A mute question to ask to continue.
You nodded as you detached a little from him to help him take off your top and bra. Ace struggled with the hook of the latter did not want to tear it from you and you laughed to then help him open.
"Wow." You bit your lip for that statement and you made a small groan when his hand cup closed on one of your breasts.
"Ace..." Your moan of pleasure made him go on tilt for a moment and then he began to touch you and taste you with his mouth. He bit one of your nipples gently, then started sucking on it, then saw that you liked it.
To say you felt warm was little, you were burning inside.
You scratched his shoulders as Ace continued down his kissing descent to your belly button. Ace bit you in that spot leaving a visible mark with his teeth and you pulled his hair.
He smiled at you and continued to kiss you as his hands tinkered with your skirt.
"If you want to stop, you have to tell me, Honey." You lost a heartbeat, it was so sweet and thoughtful.
"That’s okay, Ace, I trust you." You responded by stroking his freckled face.
One time you found yourself naked under him.
"You’re perfect." He said giving you a quick kiss on the side before crawling between your legs.
"Ace... wait I want..." The voice died in your throat when he separated your legs and kissed your center.
"Time to time Honey, let me do it for now." Ace gave you another kiss at that point that hurt you so much and they remain staring at you, he continued.
If before it was just a stroke now you could feel his hand going up and down between the lips of your sex, rubbing insistently your clitoris, you tried to plug your mouth to avoid screaming, but Ace prevented it.
His tongue crept into you as his hands harpooned at your hips to keep you from escaping.
And Ace was voracious, so voracious, he wouldn’t let you breathe.
And all that heat you were accumulating and bursting in one second when your body tensed like a violin string leaving you without energy while Ace tasted everything about you.
"You are so good." He told you while he was stroking your cheek, his face was still dirty you blushed but you kissed him again by flipping the positions.
"It’s up to me." And Ace let you do it, enjoying every inexperienced touch you made. You took off his red pearl necklace, and you kissed his neck.
The hips were his touchstone you noticed as you went down with your lips to his pelvis and so you had left a bite while your fingers traced the grooves of his muscles.
Then it was time for that damn vintage belt. You lost a few minutes, but in the end you succeeded and you almost died of embarrassment at the bulge you found waiting for you.
"Oh my God..." You sighed over his boxers.
"Second thoughts?" Ace stroked your face to look you in the eye.
"No one." You answered by removing the tissue from his boxers and letting his penis get hit by the fresh night air. His pants and boxers had reached your clothing.
"Don’t run and do what you feel like doing." He said as he pulled your hair out of your face.
The light of fire shone on her sculpted body creating intriguing plays of light and shadow that invited you to move on.
You took it in your hand, squeezing slowly and starting to feel the texture. It was hard, you observed Ace’s reactions to understand the movements and the speed to use and his moans pushed you to continue and try something else, so you didn’t think twice to lower yourself to taste it.
It was just a little licking, but Ace’s body tensed up like you did. The muscles in his abdomen tensed while you kept tasting it and then you took it all in one breath.
Ace called you by your name and squeezed your hair to get you back up.
"I was wrong..." You couldn’t even say the last word that Ace eagerly kissed you.
"No, no, you’re doing great, but I don’t want to end it now." He responded shortly after by bringing you under him and sticking a finger inside you.
"Ah... ah... Ace...." You held on to him as the speed at which he crept in increased.
He then kissed you to distract you as he aligned with your center. The world around you stopped existing when it stopped kissing and looked you in the eye.
You nodded with breathlessness.
The first impression was something that burned, burned so much and you closed your eyes and pointed your feet on the sand to look for something to anchor yourself to. Then Ace met resistance and fermented to try to calm his heart and his instincts, did not want to hurt you.
"Hold on a little longer, Love." He never called you that, and you nodded and shook his hand while he shook your side with the other.
Then he started pushing back into you slowly trying to stop himself from getting into one push and hurting you.
You both felt it the moment something inside you broke and your hips joined at one point. You cried out in pain, and Ace kissed you, and he wiped the tears in your eyes, and he kissed you distracted as he started to move inside you.
Push after push you started to respond, feeling that the pain left room for something new.
You were close to each other, the breaths labored and the looks charged with a new feeling.
"I love you." Two simple words you didn’t expect to hear.
"I love you too, Ace." You kissed him back.
Ace picked you up and took you to a hot spring you’d discovered in the day.
He brought you down and entered the water first: "It’s perfect come!" He told you by reaching out, you came up and sat at the edge on the smooth rocks dipping your legs, you still felt disoriented.
Ace approached you and kissed you again, then saw the blood between your legs, and his eyes kind of frowned.
"Ace..." You called him and gently taking his face in your hands and rubbing your noses: "Whatever you’re thinking, stop immediately." You said with a smile, your eyes were still shiny and you felt a little bit of pain in your groin, but you were fine, you were happy and you told him straight.
Ace calmed down a little and picked you up to get you into the hot spring.
Maybe it was the heat of the water, maybe it was Ace’s heartbeat but you fell asleep in his arms, happy, a little sore but immensely happy to be there with him.
"But where are those two ends!" That voice was too familiar to you.
"Ace..." You said in your sleep clutching at him, and in response, you received a grunt and two arms clutching you even more.
"I found the tent! Satch come here!" The figure of Izo had appeared above you two.
"What happened in here?!" Satch had arrived in no time and without wasting time had opened the tent without even the slightest warning.
The sunlight hit you both forcing you to wake up, you shook the blanket with one arm as Ace stood up before you and rubbing your eyes he asked, "What’s going on guys is too soon."
"Too soon?! It’s past noon and you two haven’t given us any news since yesterday! Wretches!" Satch was furious.
"We went down to find out what you were doing." Marco had appeared next to Satch and was looking at you from head to toe.
You got up shortly afterwards, holding the blanket tightly to your breast and only then did you realize what was going to happen.
"Is that a hickey?"
"Where are your clothes?"
"What are those scratches?"
"What did you do last night?"
You had suddenly turned red and hoped that no one would understand the situation. But it was your older brothers you were talking about. You had no hope.
Izo sat next to you and grabbed you by the back, he’d already figured it out.
Marco and Satch made a few seconds later and Ace realized he had to run if he didn’t want to be killed at that moment. And then the chase started, Ace in boxer shorts running along the beach to outrun the two men.
"So how was it?" Izo’s question threw you.
"IZO!" You said while you were looking for a change to go help Ace.
"Don’t worry, they won’t kill him... maybe, but I want the details."

writober 2023 | DAY TWO · stump
Buggy is many things. The Clown, the Flashy Fool, the Genius Jester. A trainwreck waiting to happen, a bomb about to go off, always a step away from something that could either ruin him or make him whole again—or both, in no particular order. He’s abrasive, determined, rough around the edges, but he knows how to show people a good time. When he wants to. If he feels like it.
Buggy is many things, yes, and considerate is not one of them. He acts first, thinks later. Touches first, asks never. So that’s what he does now, with Shanks—he reaches out to grab at his stump, a mad glint in his blue eyes.
Part of him is expecting the other half of his arm to fly back to its owner, like his does all the time. Part of him hopes it will. Yet, it doesn’t. Shanks’ stump is just a stump, and there is no making it into something else.
And Buggy needs to know who.
Not who did this to him, that is irrelevant—at least for now. What Buggy needs to know is who was important enough for Shanks to lose an arm over. And after he knows, though he’ll never, ever ask, he needs to take them out himself.
Shanks doesn’t shake him off. As unnerving as ever, he simply waits for Buggy to be done. Lets him do whatever he needs to. He doesn’t wince or grimace as Buggy runs his fingers along freshly-healed skin. Instead, he looks at him with that unbearable, fond smile of his, the one that makes Buggy want to crawl out of his body.
A while later Buggy falls asleep against his chest, hating himself and Shanks and the whole entire world. He misses the weight of Shanks’ arms around him, keeping all of his pieces together as if the Chop Chop Fruit had never taken them apart.
When he wakes up to an empty bed, as per usual, Buggy hates even more fiercely. He hates, detests, loathes. He swears he’ll never fall for it again, knows without the shadow of a doubt that he will, and supposes that stump will come in handy then as well.
One less limb to worry about disentangling.
One less limb to greedily keep to himself until their next meeting.
One less limb for Buggy to feel around the mattress for, eyes closed and unseeing, heart full, heavy and ever so slightly more broken.

Day 12 - Adopted child
— Don't you dare say that! — Scar groans, covering his cat's ears with his palms. Jelly raises her muzzle in disbelief, looking puzzled at her owner.
— But Scar, she’s practically adopted. — Grian can’t hold back his laughter.
— Even so, she doesn’t have to know such things. — Goodtimes snorts, moving his hands to the cat's fur and gently scratching his beloved cat.
Jelly purrs quietly. She doesn’t care if she’s adopted, or even if Scar himself gave birth to her. The main thing is that they love her here.

Day 4 : The Day I Lost You..
Not especially proud of this one.. I will probably rewrite it one day

Asmira had taken up temporary residence in the outer rim. It seemed more sensible to keep a low profile since her death had been staged, she had to keep a low profile. So she set her sights on the Lahara sector and established her camp on Agamar. Settled in a cave, she spent most of her time training, waiting patiently for the time when she would be called to the front. The former Jedi Knight had become a Sith after her encounter with the spirit of Darth Traya. Since her victory over her, she had earned the official title of Sith Lord. Since then, she had served Darth Sidious in the role of Inquisitor. It had been 1 year, 6 months, 20 days, 12 hours and 45 minutes since Asmira Illidithas Ardan was declared missing. A tragic "incident" was said to be the cause of her demise.
She thought about it all the time. Sometimes she almost regretted the days when she served the Jedi Order with religious fervour, surrounded by those she loved. Even though they had now become her enemies, she couldn't help worrying about some of them. After all, they were the closest thing she had to family. Asmira had not had the most... conventional childhood. Coming from a rather poor and needy family, Asmira did not have an easy start in life. However, perhaps it would have been better if she had lived this life. What would have happened if Garyl Argtur hadn't bought her from her parents? What if they had refused the offer? Perhaps she would have been happier. Finishing her tree push-ups, she lowered her feet, letting them touch the ground again. She wiped the beads of sweat from her face with her gloved hand. She observed her surroundings before continuing her daily training. She was learning martial arts, having realised that without her sword she was nothing. She wanted to surpass herself and show the world what she was capable of. She repeated the same movements over and over again every day, and had now mastered them almost perfectly.
For several weeks now, Asmira had been experiencing disturbances in the Force. She couldn't explain it in concrete terms, but her dreams and thoughts were blurred. She couldn't work out what was happening. "Surely it's an internal conflict?" she thought. But she preferred to ignore the problem. After all, none of this concerned her any more... Asmira was sitting on a tree branch. She was watching the starry sky.
She was a little sad that evening. For some reason, she felt that her heart was in pain. She could feel her heart clenching in her chest. She watched her body trying to understand what was happening to her. When she tried to look at her hands, she was surprised to find that they were shaking. The rest of her body seemed to be shaking too. So she grabbed his shoulders in the hope of calming the tremors, but to no avail. It was only a few seconds before her vision began to blur. Her eyes began to fill with tears. Asmira Illidithas Ardan was crying. It had not happened for such a long time. Surprisingly, she, who usually managed to contain her emotions, burst into tears. She remained in the same position for long minutes. Sobbing her eyes out, unable to control herself.
The next day, although Asmira had been unable to rest last night, she resumed her usual routine. Today, however, she began her day with a meditation session. Perhaps she would find rest in meditation. Poor child, her curiosity will get the better of her. As she concentrated on making a full connection with the Force, she was overwhelmed with information, abandoning her seated position and starting to hold her head. Her face contorted in pain. Tears of pain rolled down her cheeks. She screamed. Her screams echoed in her cave. Most of the animals around her had fled in fear. After a few seconds that seemed like hours. After that, calm returned. Well, not completely. She was lying on the ground, panting, exhausted. Before fainting, all she could see was one last image. One last vision. A friend, her friend, her best friend, the one she considered to be her brother. A member of her family too, dying on the ground. She wasn't familiar with the place. But she could hear his screams. She remained motionless. The stupor and shock that had just hit her were indefinable. She let out one last tear before fainting.
Fortunately, Asmira's droid gave her first aid. A few hours later, she woke up on the straw mattress that served as her bed. It wasn't luxurious, but it was comfortable. She stood up, holding her head in her hands. The scene was still haunting her mind. The tears began to flow again. Asmira broke down for the second time.
Nothing would ever be the same again. Her life will be changed forever. I don't even know if she'll survive until she's sent back to the front. Asmira's fate is uncertain. The loss of a loved one is painful. Very painful. Few manage to overcome it. Let us pray, dear reader, that our young lady survives this difficult time. But deep down, you know that everything will be fine. Otherwise, why am I telling you this story?

DAY 2: Staircase
obligatory everything is subject to change
I'm not a fucking hermit. I can leave my home whenever I want to. I just choose not to, on account of the fucking zombies. As much as you guys in the Federation wanna pretend nothing's wrong, and the island's perfect, I'm not so inclined to agree when the island has teeth and hands and fucking talks.
But I went outside today, for the first time since the fourth day on the island, when the sun went down for the last time. Yeah I would've loved to just stay inside but two of my walls were in a very heated argument about Among Us, and I just didn't feel like getting in the middle of that. Might as well leave.
Definitely didn't have anything to do with Roier coming over yesterday. It was really nice to see him, don't get me wrong! No, it was the way he looked when I told him I hadn't left my house in days. Just a look of pity and shock, like I was the crazy one for not going outside when there's fucking zombies everywhere.
Well I've gone outside. Just to prove that I can. Also because I was out of food. And wood. But that's not important. I was doing fine.
And it definitely was totally fine going out, I wasn't scared out of my fucking mind at all. Yeah, not a zombie in sight, made me feel like a fool for not going out sooner. In fact, the sun was out, and the birds were singing, and there was a train waiting right outside to take me away from this fucking nightmare island.
It sucked. Every step was scary, every breeze sounded like a zombie breathing over my shoulder. I had armor on but I've never felt so vulnerable. It felt like I had painted a huge target on my chest, like I was inviting the zombies right to a four course meal of my internal organs.
It wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be though. At least sticking by the wall, having something behind me so I couldn't be blindsided, that was helpful. There wasn't many animals, but I was able to pick up some wheat from a couple small spots, so that was good. A couple fruit trees, now I won't die from scurvy, thank god. I wonder if the Federation can supply vitamin D supplements... Not for any particular reason, of course.
Chopping trees isn't fun, I've found. And surprisingly, that fact doesn't change in the dark. Yeah, still not great. But I'm gonna get buff as hell if I keep this up.
It did make me feel safer to be running around with a big sharp blade, not to sound like a crazed madman. But surprisingly, I didn't see many zombies. There were one or two that wanted to fight, but I made 'em wish they were never born! Turned? Killed? However the zombies on this island came to be, I made them wish they weren't!
I've heard from a couple other people not to use torches unless you wanna be swarmed, cuz the zombies naturally come towards the light. I'll be honest, I don't think I could've done that, I just put down torches cuz without them I couldn't see two inches in front of my face.
Not that it fucking mattered, cuz I'm still a danger to myself! At all times! Somehow, I don't know if the axe just slipped in my hands or I was distracted or I'm really just stupider than I thought, but I chopped right into my fucking wrist.
And the worst part is, I didn't even manage to make it a good clean cut all the way through. No, I stopped when I was like, most of the way through. So I've got an essentially dead hand hanging by a thread, blood pouring from a huge open wound, and a decision to make. Or maybe just a question to ask myself. Do I have the guts to cut off my own hand? Purposefully? Cuz it'll just get infected if I leave it, so it's gonna have to come off somehow.
The answer was yes, apparently. I don't know if it was adrenaline or what, but I had a totally mild freak out, about as much as you'd expect from your local wall hermit, and just cut the rest. It's still out there, somewhere, I didn't really wanna take it with me. I hope some zombie got it and has a taste for me now.
Um, yeah, so now I've just got a bleeding stump of a wrist that's just gushing blood onto the grass. I kinda didn't realize how much you use both hands for things until that moment when I went to tear my shirt to use as a bandage. Cuz apparently without a hand, it's a lot harder to stabilize, so tearing the shirt took more effort than I would've liked. Thank god I've still got my teeth.
I've been rocking the blood-stained crop top for hours now, I think it's gonna be the trend on the island here soon. I mean, it is a summer getaway, we gotta beat the heat somehow!
I could say I was sad that my little outing was brought to an end, but I think that'd be called lying. It was nice to breathe the fresh air, yes, less nice to have all the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end for hours as I just wait for something to happen. I was more than happy to cut my losses, literally, and head home with everything I'd gathered, which wasn't a small amount! I cleared out a sizeable chunk today; who knows, maybe I'll make a nice pool out there, somewhere to relax, enjoy the sun and summer breeze.
As I was leaving, making my way back down the wall, way farther than I had originally thought I walked. Um, I heard someone say "run" to me. Not a great thing to hear when you're already on edge. But I turned around and there was a zombie, I guess I hadn't heard it walk up, I was so distracted chopping off my hand. But it was just sort of hobbling towards me, one of its legs looked messed up, so I wasn't too worried about it. Don't get me wrong, I kept my distance, but I didn't sprint immediately at the sight of it. I did walk a bit faster away from it though, you can never be too careful.
There was another zombie next to it, maybe 10 feet back, then I saw two more coming out of the trees and suddenly I kept seeing more and more. It was like I hadn't put on the glasses before but now I could finally see them, like they were always lurking in the trees, waiting to strike. They were still pretty slow, but it was pretty scary to find yourself surrounded by zombies when you thought you were safe.
And they're all saying "run" still. What had sounded like a monotone note of moans and grunts now was an entire chorus of voices telling me to run. And believe me, I didn't need to be told twice.
Thankfully I hadn't really walked far from my place, cuz the further I ran I had to keep sidestepping zombies that seemed to appear out of fucking nowhere. And some of them were much faster than I had anticipated. I mean there was one or two zombies that were almost sprinting behind me, scared the living shit out of me to look back and see something actually keeping pace. Still surrounded by a cacophony of voices telling me run. I swear I couldn't hear anything besides that and the pounding of blood in my ears.
I made it to my home, more or less safe, I'm sitting on the floor right now. There's zombies at my door, they're surrounding the place. If I didn't literally build my home into the side of the wall, I'd be way more worried they were gonna carve their way in somehow. I really hope that door holds up; it's been doing pretty well so far, but I really don't wanna rely on that and have to deal with it breaking when I need it most.
Um, I don't think my wrist is gonna get infected, crossing my fingers, or at least the ones I have left. I wrapped it in gauze, and it's clean, but I don't have any disinfectant until Cucurucho delivers some tonight.
Can I sue the Federation? For legal reasons, that last part was a joke, thank you Cucurucho, I love the island.
I'm still sat on my floor, trying to drown out the sounds. I really don't wanna hear them. They've gone from chanting "run" to "safe", which surprisingly doesn't actually make me feel safe at all. In fact, I feel extremely unsafe.
They're crawling over each other to get to me though, I can see them through my window. They haven't reached the window yet, it's still too high up for them, but they're trying anyway. Just climbing on top of each other, like some horrible zombified staircase. I just know that whatever's at the bottom of that stack is getting crushed, I don't think those zombies will make it out. Like a really fucked up mosh pit or something.
Really good and productive outing I had today. Really love it here. Disfruta la isla.

writober 2023 | DAY ONE · rustle
The rustling of leaves wakes Gale up, as it does most nights.
Before Mystra, or rather before the Orb, he’d never had trouble sleeping. Even after, his constant search for a cure often left him exhausted well before dinnertime, head aching from all the information he’d forced himself to take in during the day. He slept heavy then, if not easy—a deep, dreamless slumber that temporarily stopped his body from craving, demanding. Threatening.
But tonight, as most nights as of late, he wakes.
Astarion approaches his bedroll shortly after. Gale doesn’t bother opening his eyes.
“You seriously have to stop that,” he mutters, low enough that the others don’t so much as stir in their sleep. He hears Astarion huff, and he can almost picture him rolling his eyes with it. He smiles a little, despite himself.
“You’re no fun,” Astarion says, backing off. He settles down in front of the fire then, his thirst mostly quenched from his nightly walk in the woods.
They’ve talked about this, more or less. And really, it’s not that Gale doesn’t want to let him drink. He wouldn’t mind it, he thinks. He would even, to an extent, enjoy it—not that Astarion needs to know. But at this rate his blood is no better than a sewer rat’s, he’d estimate. So really, it’s for the best.
“Oh, Astarion,” he says, turning on his side to finally look at him.
His pale skin glows in the moonlight, flames burn in his eyes. He’s untouchable in all the ways that matter, yet still somehow less so than Gale.
“I fear you'll have to live with it.”

Day 8 - Recklessness
— What’s the most reckless thing you could do for me? — Grian said thoughtfully, looking at his beloved guys sitting next to him.
Scar and Mumbo looked at each other.
Mumbo looked at Scar with the eyes of a man who had worked all night. His black suit, hair and even his mustache were covered with a thin coating of red dust, which shimmered in the weak light of day, making Jumbo, with his pale skin, resemble a vampire.
Scar sat in his green robes as an elf prince, running his fingers through his long brown hair and twirling it around his fingers. Emerald eyes full of wisdom and catastrophism at the same time, and a sly smile on her lips.
- What would you like, my dear bird? – Scar drawled sweetly, turning his gaze to Grian and resting his chin on his palm.
- Something reckless! — Avian’s eyes light up with a playful fire.
— Explosion of the entire server? - says Mumbo thoughtfully. — Xisuma will kill us.
- It is naive to think that our personal catastrophism will not want something that could cause us problems later. - Scar laughs in response.
- Let's marry each other! - Grian suddenly says, jumping on the spot and looking from one guy to another.
Mumbo blushes in response, not expecting such a turn, and Scar laughs loudly:
— I wouldn’t say it’s reckless, but why not.

Day 5. In the crowd.
-Aki, why the hell did you drag us out here?
-I already explained to you, we are going to the festival. If you don't act like assholes, I'll buy some sweets.
Aki decided to take Denji and Power to the festival. Deep down in his heart he was sorry that they did not see these holiday colors. ....... ..........
The trio was surrounded by a crowd. Couples, families and groups of friends. Everyone is wearing yukata, with fans, and dango sticks. The crowd laughed and celebrated. Suddenly Denji stopped.
- Hey, don’t slow down!
-Power, shut your mouth!
The young man still stood. It was as if he had been nailed to the ground. Denji suddenly realized. The crowd is something strange. Everyone drinks, eats, laughs and congratulates each other. They will call you for a drink or shout out wishes, not paying attention to whether you are a human or a demon, whether you are like them. The crowd seemed to him like one big creature, consisting of noise, laughter and shouts.
...... .........
Denji also wanted to scream, laugh, eat sweets. He seemed drunk. A tear rolled down my cheek. Denji understood what it meant to feel human. It means becoming part of the crowd.

A beautiful autumn day, the air was cool and pleasant. In fact, it wasn't cold, it was a perfect temperature, the trees still had all their leaves filled with warm colors, the sun's rays making everything magical. I looked down at the grass beneath my feet, the sound of dead leaves taking me back to old memories, everything was so beautiful, so soothing. My gaze landed on a leaf falling from a tree, fluttering in the wind, I followed it with my gaze and it fell on the hair of a woman I knew all too well. It was her mother, which reminded me of where I was and made my stomach knot. The contrast of white and orange was so beautiful that I'd lost sight of why I've come.
I knotted my tie and took the deepest breath I could muster, everyone was seated on these magnificent white chairs on the floor, there was this beautifull white archway blending lily flowers and autumn leaves, all paused on this little dais perfect for three. Cutting through this uncluttered setting was an equally clear path, one might have thought it was the way to the promised land.
All this was so much like her, all this was simply her. Autumn was also my favorite season. For it was in this soft, colorful time when nature bows out and gives us a final flourish that she found me just when I thought I'd disappear. A hand on my shoulder, while I was lost in thought. She was leaning over, her face inches from mine. Her smile was so radiant I thought it was summer. I couldn't answer, so she sat down next to me without any shame. Yet in class she was always so transparent that her warm side almost made me believe she was someone else. "Well then, who are you hiding from?
- I'm not hiding."
I replied, almost resentfully at the insinuation that I was running away from something. She almost laughed in my face, her expression telling me "Yeah of course". I should have asked her what she was doing there, maybe she was running away too. We sat for hours on the damp sole while she talked almost to herself, I didn't think you could talk so much to say nothing, let alone someone who looked so self-effacing.
I don't really know how we got there, but I had too much pride to change my hiding place just because she came to it, and she had too much pride to give up. I'd put so much effort into ignoring her that it was laughable, but she never seemed to mind. I'd got to the point where I went there every day at the same hour, and I think she knew it because she was expecting me. I pretended to ignore her, sometimes almost insulting her, but she kept talking, opening up to me as if I were some kind of imaginary friend. At school, she was so quiet and self-effacing that you'd think she'd be shy, but apparently her friends were the problem who make her introvert at school. I don't know how I'd come to take such an interest in her life, but the more violent the arguments at home became, the more I looked forward to that moment in the day when she'd give herself up to me as if I were the only person capable of understanding her impatiently. I don't even know how I came to answer her. In fact, within a few months, winter had set in, and my world began to revolve around her without asking me.
In the mornings, I hurried out early before my parents could start arguing. I was very careful about what I took with me. I always arrived too early, and there she was, in hindsight she must have noticed that I was there early in the morning so she had to do her best not to miss me. She was always slumped over her desk, half-asleep despite the cold, and she always went out so unprepared, without coat or umbrella, I don't think it was possible to be more careless. But those moments when we were alone in the classroom together were the most precious to me. I'd shake her awake and wrap a scarf around her neck, but it wasn't even mine at that point, her hands were still cold and she complained so much about hunger that I got used to bringing her something to eat on the pretext that my mother was forcing me to take it, even though I hated it. I think she knew very well that I was lying, but she was also lying about why she was there so early in the morning. We both lied, and I think the truth is an ugly thing, because if I could lie to her again, I would.
Even during the day I couldn't ignore her, I was always on the lookout for her, listening to her every word. I spent my time waiting for when we'd meet again in that little secluded park, for those false quarrels and confessions no one could hear. Everything was about her, and I hated that. And it didn't take more than a day for this hatred to explode. She'd only been absent for one day at school, but don't get me wrong, she'd never been absent in half a year. Everything seemed so empty without her that I became obsessed with her absence. Spring was here, and just as I was heading home, turning the knob to get through my own hell. Suddenly the budding scent of flowers filled my lungs, the sunset blinded me and somehow I found myself running with all my might. "She's capable of getting lost along the way, falling or even being kidnapped. She's a born idiot", these extreme thoughts betrayed just how I felt. I stood breathless in front of her door, trying to catch my breath as my lungs contracted, my heart pounding, she was there, in front of me, pale but present. An almost mocking smile that made my blood boil: "Heh you can’t ev-. But I didn't let her finish and grabbed her by the shoulders.
- Are you stupid! You could have warned me!"
I don't know by what sorcery, but when I saw her surprised, almost shocked face, I realized how ridiculous I'd been. And the silence that settled in made me die inside. "Ha, but I don’t even have your num-
- Shut up please just, forget it".*
I turned on my heel, ready to leave, and she grabbed my arm, forcing me to stay, our eyes analyzing each other's every emotion. I don't know why this little woman unable to take care of herself hugged me, but I thought I'd never be able to let go. It was too late, without a word, a thousand promises had been saddled. We spent the night together, in the purest, most innocent way, watching a movie, talking about nothing. She was just sick and her parents were out of town. I remember every little moment, where shame gave way to a new feeling warming my heart as I cared for this child far too stubborn to care for herself.
After that evening, I lived the most beautiful years of my life. It was my Garden of Eden. I don't even think I went home anymore, my days at school were spent admiring every curve of her face, every laugh of her melodious voice. Paying attention to every blonde lock that disturbed her in class, watching her eyebrows furrow when she didn't understand an exercise. And I can't think of a more beautiful moment than when she was bored with her friends and her greenish eyes met mine. Nothing could spoil my joy; every discovery was a godsend. She loved sweet things, she adored the cold but was very sensitive to it, she got into everything she came across and said that every blue one was a mark of war. I loved teasing her, ignoring her, kissing her, hugging her, playing with her hair, listening to her talk, helping her, laughing at her, drying her tears.
For me, my high school years were an unstoppable laugh, because as soon as you look at that person, it starts all over again. Yes, my high school years were euphoric, a breath of oxygen in the middle of the ocean. In the summer of my senior year, when I'd already chosen my university, my parents finally divorced and I was forced to follow my father across the country, so I was forced to finish a story I'd loved every chapter of and open another book. But Lucie wasn't just another first love. She was the woman of my life. For five years, every thought in my head was devoted to her, and the mere memory of her smile or that little frown she was so good at was enough to make me climb any mountain. I had only one idea in mind, the promise of our farewell, that it wouldn't be one, that of becoming a man good enough to marry her. I worked so hard for it, and when I came back she was there, she hadn't changed, she was still the woman I loved.
The applause as the little girl carefully walked along, throwing autumn leaves in place of the traditional flower petals, woke me from my nostalgia. She was so cute and seemed so proud of herself, she could be. She pulled up with the bridesmaids to the side, and moments later, there she was. The woman who made my world go round arrived. Her hair had been cut for the occasion, that golden blond highlighted by the wreath of flowers she wore. She seemed so focused, it was laughable as always, she could have fallen over at that moment and I wouldn't have been surprised. She seemed nervous, as she was, fiddling with her little finger discreetly, a habit she's had since childhood. She moved forward with angelic steps, positioned herself on the dais and tried to smile naturally. The man from the town hall began to recite his best wishes as the rings were exchanged. She'd always been petite, and her fingers were just as delicate as she was. How could you not love every part of this woman?
The final sentence was spoken: "If anyone wishes to oppose this union, let him say so or forever hold his peace.” And as the traditional silence paused, our eyes met. I swear on everything I hold dear that her eyes filled with tears for a brief moment, begging me to get up from my chair and oppose her, not to let her go. My nails dug into my palms, and I held on to this contact that seemed like an eternity, so much left unsaid. Pardon. I'm sorry because I thought about getting up and calling it a day. What did this man have that I didn't, what did he know about her? Did he love her even half as much as I did? Did all these people here even know who I was, did they know how much I loved this woman, that the last eight years were devoted to her, did they even know what pure, true love like ours was?
Sitting around her coffee table, I could feel the anxiety rising in me, I could hardly contain my joy. She returned with a bottle of wine and sat down beside me, serving us both a glass. I admired her, every moment was dedicated to her. After five long years I could look at her again, I never thought the mere sight of her would make me melt so simply. And as usual, after a long silence and a few sips of wine, she began to talk, telling me about her life without me since our separation, she never thought she'd see me again. And I hadn't noticed that she was talking, not because she was a tireless piplette, but because she was beating around the bush. It wasn't until the morning after I'd spent the night with her, wrapping my arm around her waist, that tears began to flow. I innocently thought they were tears of joy. I gently took her wrists between my hands to move them away from her face, before carefully running my thumbs over her cheeks, brushing her eyelashes to wipe away any trace of moisture from that face I'd grown so fond of. Nothing destroyed me more than when she told me she was supposed to get married in just a few days. Nothing was as painful, as hard as this confession. My world destroyed beneath my feet as I ran away from her to think. How could pain be so poignant, how could my heart hurt so much, I wished it could be ripped out of me as quickly as possible, that a car would run me over, that God would make me disappear. I was in so much pain, suddenly so alone, that I banged my head against the wall for hours trying to make the pain go away. But no, nothing could be as painful. Nothing could compare, and if anyone reads this and has the slightest shred of humanity, they'll come and kill me to shorten my agony.
She exchanged this kiss with the man with whom she'd built her life, and a tear rolled down her cheek, only we knew it wasn't one of joy. I left without a word. I wanted to tell her I'd wait for her all my life, that I'd always be somewhere, ready to be the one to take care of her. But I said nothing. Because I knew that if I said a single word, I'd always have hope that she'd come and find me. And she'd always have that doubt that she could throw it all out the window because I'd be there. I told myself that I had to consider her dead so that each of us could live. But even in death I still cherish every painful memory, and I've never loved her as much as I do now.
