Today wasn’t very productive which was kind of out of my control and also kind of my fault but hey ho. I had another driving lesson today and it definitely went better than last lesson which is good, we also went a different route which changed things up a bit. Yesterday was quite productive it was mainly a chemistry day, which is always great.

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024 - 3/100 dop

First day back at work today, and I thought I'd show off some of my journals for this year^^!

Did so much at work, felt very productive - finished books, started new books, organised the classroom and the like!

Didn't exercise today, but I think with all the hugs I gave to 5-year-olds today, I must've done 50+ squats and a couple deadlifts or whatever.

Finished reading Winter by Ali Smith

Read to 25% of Court by Tracy Wolff (I am finishing this silly little paranormal romance series or it will finish me).

Made pasta for dinner (it was 👍)

Did almost 2 hours of writing ^^

Did some recreational journaling~

Flipped through some verb flashcards during my work breaks for a total time of almost 10 minutes :)

Diavolo fucking HATES them

Diavolo likes watching true crime (he's behind like half of them)

Doppio has to take care of their body because of how disgusting diavolo is

like dia just fucking sits around and sweats and when Doppio gets back in control he's just so fucking confused

he has to take an hour long shower to get clean again

also diavolo calls at the worst possible times

29th & 30th Oct || 99 - 100 days of 150dop

I have reached day 100! My initial DOP goal has been met!! Yay! Now I have 50 days of productivity (and 30working days of university) left! It's so daunting that I'm close to the finish line I'm so nervous and excited and everything in between !!!!!

My next (final) semester of uni is allocated for internships- and when I asked my final project guide for advice, she told me about this one lab focusing on Computational Systems Biology. I've spent the past couple days researching about them now- their projects, members, published papers, etc etc. Lucky for me, they do some of the coolest work and it's exactly what I'm interested in! And yesterday I finally managed to gather the courage (emails are so intimidating 😣😣) and bits and pieces of my scant academic vernacular and ended up emailing the PI about potential internship opportunities. The task took so much of my mental energy that I spent the rest of the evening tired and unproductive.

However, it was all worth it when I opened my email on the way back from Uni today and noticed that the PI emailed back!! He agreed to have a call to discuss my interests and whether I'd be a good fit for his lab. The interview is on Thursday!! I'm excited nervous freaking out!! I've started looking deeper into his work and brushing up my basics as well so I can leave a good impression, let's see how it goes.

Other than that, my friends and I hung out at a cafe today after class, it was a fun time <3 I also got spotify premium with my friends xD

Activity on my first listen: putting up a new fence

This is one of my favorite episodes!

Okay okay, everybody is like Tarantino here, Tarantul- aaaah Tarantino there. But what about Neil Lagorio!! I have been puzzled about this for so long... Because when I think of "the name in practical creature FX", I think of Stan Winston. But the stop motion doesn't add up. Here I would think of Phil Tippet or Ray Harryhausen. Not sure if Harryhausen isn't a bit too old, already starting his career in the 40s and 50s, while Stan Winston and Phil Tippet started their careers in the 70s - like Lagorio. Stan Winston also has the parallel of suffering from an illness and eventually succumbing to it. I mean it's totally possible that it's a mix of FX artists. But I would really love to know if there was an inspiration.

OMG wait, didn't the statement-giver in MAG 108 also roast the director? And it's also read by Martin/Alex!

I – yeah. Anyway." The last episode featuring Martin, MAG 108 was a Lonely statement and he also said it wasn't too bad. And now it's a Web statement and he doesn't find it too bad. Walking along a thin line of Lonely and Web there.

Hm, that transition into the tunnels was a bit quick for my liking..

Something distantly related. I was looking up something in the episode discussion posts on Reddit a while ago, initially looking for something in MAG 111. Somehow I also took a look at this episode. There were people discussing the possibility of Elias being Jonah! Like, HOW? How did they predict that at this point? I mean, Martin and Basira are talking about Elias' memory insertion ability and people in the Reddit post also talked about this and about him potentially being able to insert memories of an entire life - bodyhopping like this. There were also discussions of Elias possibly targeting Martin next, but yeah... There was also something about the statement - the Web being close to the Eye? It was a Web statement, but cameras are usually Eye.

This weekend was very chill, I got a lot of work done and did some planning for the next couple of days. I also bought some more crocheting yarn to complete a project I started a while back and to start a new one.

As part of yesterday's DOP, I watched some (non-academical) videos that were on my to-do list but hadn't watched and I'm glad I did because they really inspired me.

So, today I tried a different approach to my morning: I woke up, and just dove right into the tasks I had to do, and by the end of the time I had set for that, I had already finished 2 out of the 3 most important tasks I had to absolutely get done for today (the 3rd task didn't get completed in that time because of other reasons, but I still managed to do it :], so I still take it as a win).
