Okay so one of the symbols of modern Kazakhstan's independence is Altyn Adam - Golden Man*(as in person).
Altyn adam refers to an artefact that was found 1970 in Issyk kurgan(burial)*.
It looks like this(id in the end of the post and in alt):
Tumblr media
It is actually quite interesting how the artefact was found.
In 1968 the town Issyk became a town and wanted to develop. However, they needed experts to first check that there are no historical sites, which is what they did. For all of 1969 they were carefully uncovering he kurgan, and in 1970 they finally opened it.
It was empty. The place had signs that it has been robbed several times before.
One archeologist, Bekmuhanbet Nurmuhanbetov*, decided to check some 30-40 meters away, and found a side-burial which was left untouched since 6-5th century BC.
They found so many artefacts that listing them all here would be quite difficult.
What I would like to mention though is who was buried here:
Gender is unknown*, but the age is around late teens(16-18)
The person that was buried here was most likely to be a child of some kind of tribe leader, because their burial is smaller than the main one.
About the tribe! The burial probably belonged to Saka tribes. Saka people might relate to Scythians(they are probably part of the same cultural group?)* *. Anyways this particular kurgan was made by Tigraxauda people. Their name derives from persian and means. Pointy hats........
The golden armor is probably more ritualistic(haven't seen it in direct text sorry) than anything because the golden pieces of armor are wood covered in golden leaf. The helmet is made from golden plates though.
There are actually some interesting thing that are present on the helmet. By that I mean the arrows, which are said to symbolise 4 parts of the world. There are also multiple animals* on it. As a whole the costume consists of 4000 golden pieces.
And finally, Why is it so important?
Well to answer this question, you should know USSR's relationship with history and how is was teached in Kazakhstan specifically: mainly, world history through the lense of revolution and how Kazakhstan just sorta became part of USSR after it was Russian Empire's colony*. Nothing before that as people that lived on this land.
Which led to a very hard situation after the independency was gained because well. The majority of people were Kazakhs, but a lot of culture and identity was lost. And part of it was history.
So an artefact this old brings a sense of legitimacy. It also doesn't hurt that it's pretty.
ID and notes under cut
[ID: Armor on a mannequin in a museum setting standing above camera. The mannequin is wearing long-sleeved jacket which is a mix of red fabric and triangular golden pieces. The same pattern is on its boots. The pants are made from a red fabric. It is wearing a very large conical headpiece almost as tall as its chest(40cm). It is very pointy. The headpiece has 4 golden arrows and some animal ornaments on it. The figure has a bow and and an arrow in its hands, and a sheath for sword and another weapon on its belt. It is also wearing a red cape just reaching its thighs. ]
* Actually there are several artefacts like this! Around 6 or so which were found in different regions at different time. All of them are called golden men, just the place that varies. This one is Issyk's Golden Man. Some of them are actually made from solid gold and not gold leaf which I find fascinating.
* Ok so kurgan is used interchangeably here with burial. And in a way kurgan is a burial. It is also in a way like a pyramid? There are things left for the dead so they can carry them to the afterlife, but the kurgan itself is built a bit in and above ground. The rooms are made from logs, and then covered with dirt to create mounds. I also heard that a herd of horses would run it over a bunch of times to set the earth.
Tumblr media
*Full name Bekmuhanbet Nurmuhanbetov Nurmuhanbetovich. He eventually organized a museum for the kurgans he found. He died in 2016, at the age of 81, and for some reason he has "Bekem-aĝa"(aĝa means older brother, uncle just an older friendly male figure) as his pseudonym on his Wiki.
*Actually Saka seem to had been pretty great about equality. There is also a very cool story about their female chief Tomiris.
*Historical records about nomadic people come exclusively from settled ones. Because a lot of stuff they would probably write on(despite the claims about lack of writing system) would't have survived because you know. Nomads.
*Haven't mentioned it in the post but sometimes Saka people are called ancestors of Kazakh people and uhhhh. They are probably more related to modern Europeans than to us. They still had similar lifestyle and lived on this land though. And they were more mixed than anything because you know, race is bullshit.
* Oh also fun fact one of the animals is a tulpar which is a horse with wings. The same mythical animal is present on Kazakhstan's official coat of arms.
*should I keep making these notes? because I feel they might take away from the flow of the text, and some details are simply not that important or I cannot convey them properly. so. what do you think?

What is Lamellar Armor ?
Tumblr media
Lamellar armor is a type of protection made of small lamellae - or lames, blades - laced together and arranged in overlapping horizontal rows. Lamellae were made from a variety of materials depending on where and when they were made, from various metals to boiled leather, wood, antler and even stone in some rare instances. Although it was obviously not worn against the skin, lamellar armor differed from the simpler scale armor by having its individual plates attached to one another rather than to a flexible backing layer. Textile was instead used to provide comfort.
Tumblr media
Lamellar armor was developed along with scale armor in Ancient Mesopotamia almost a millennium BCE and spread from there with Eurasian nomads to most of the landmass, reaching Korea and finally Japan around the 5th century CE. A suit of lamellar armor was sturdier and more thrust-resistant than maille, and required less metallurgy know-how than a full plate harness to produce. It was particularly popular in places like Iran, Eastern Europe, Mongolia and Japan - among others - which not coincidentally all had an ingrained culture of horsemanship. In these places lamellar armor was used well into the early modern era.
Tumblr media
Related Vocabulary:
Kozane: Japanese lamellar armor.

How strong is Adam actually?
[Power scaling is hard due to Heaven not having been fully fleshed out yet. The most influential Catholic angelic hierarchy was that put forward by Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite in the 5th or 6th century in his book De Coelesti Hierarchia (On the Celestial Hierarchy). Dionysius described nine levels of spiritual beings which he grouped into three orders:
Highest orders: Seraphim, Cherubim, Ophanim (thrones)
Middle orders: Dominions, Virtues, Powers
Lowest orders: Principalities, Archangels, Angels
During the Middle Ages, various schemes were proposed, some drawing on and expanding on Pseudo-Dionysius, others suggesting completely different classifications.
Now, with what we know of Vivz's lore shown so far, Angels have their own hierarchy, with certain groups and tiers of angels dictating the degrees of authority in their government, such as the high-ranking Seraphim. It has also been stated that the powers angels possess are distinct from the powers that demons possess, with the former inherently holding dominion over the latter. Seraphim are still up high on the power dynamic but we're told there are "Elders" and Sera herself answers to these beings who can outrank/outpower her, hinting they have the power to make an angel "Fallen". We saw the Cherubs in Helluva Boss but, like they are in modern media, they aren't like their biblical source as badass warrior enforcement, but cute baby-like messengers that appear near on par with Imps (this might have been just the ones in the episode or the joke due to both groups being parallels for the bit). Ophanim are also present and have been since the start (the many-eyed wheel heads) but we don't know their role or if they are still up there with Seraphim but likely so. In the episode "Overture", Adam mentions a sexual encounter with a "Virtue chick". The term "Virtue" is also often the angelic counterpart of the Seven Deadly Sins, each one being a direct inverse of the respective sin. It is unknown which use of "Virtue" Adam was referring to.
Which now brings me to Adam and the Exorcists. Adam is a human soul that went to Heaven and for being an ordained mortal soul, the dude is fucking OP, on par with Overlords, which I think is hilarious considering I believe mortal souls being angels are the bottom bitches of Heaven's citizens which shows just how insane divinity can be when compared to the demonic powers. Now for the hard part, because Adam hints at making the Exorcists. We don't know if they are former human souls like him or if he himself made them, as he even gave Vaggie her name and Carmilla refers to the other Exorcists as Vaggie's sisters. Now this could mean they are all creations, and it does fit with Adam's ego to make a group of women who are subordinates under his command, but they also could've easily been recruited by Adam and he merely gave them new names upon being Exorcists. I also think Exorcists are even weaker than basic angels and are as barebones as an angel could be possible. Exorcists rely heavily on their weapons and lack defense, wielding no shields and having little armor, very much brutal crusaders that live for the slaughter of the damned under the guise of a holy mission...They're pawns. They also appear to lack abilities other than flight and making portals to traverse realms. Exorcists are very bloodthirsty and love violence. They seem to take sadistic joy in killing demons. Their loyalty is a core staple of their character, even so, Exorcists don't tolerate betrayal of any kind, and express hatred for Vaggie and the desire to gleefully kill her when offered the chance to go after her, becoming even more eager to do so when Adam offered a reward to the Exorcist who successfully brings him Vaggie's head.]
{So after all that, to answer your question of how strong is Adam...The dude was fucking strong. As the first human soul to go to Heaven and with millennia of training under his belt, his strength was up there to possibly archangel level and he was a threat to take seriously.}
Abilities
Flight - Adam had a set of wings that he could use to fly at great speed. He could also remove a feather from his wings to use as a quill pen.
Nephokinesis - He could control clouds he creates and make them into steps.
Cloud creation - With a flap of his wings, he can create a gust of clouds around him.
Immense strength - He was shown to be able to smash a light projector in front of him with brute strength in a moment of rage, and later shatter Alastor's barrier with a single punch. He was also shown to be strong enough to physically overpower Charlie, despite the latter assuming her full demon form. However, Charlie managed to use more of her demonic powers to stop him from punching Lucifer, utterly overpowering him and confusing him, indicating that he is only stronger than Charlie if she doesn't focus on all her power.
Enhanced endurance - Despite having not experienced pain for likely millennia, Adam was able to easily shrug off getting stabbed by Charlie with her trident despite saying that it hurt and he quickly retaliate after being repeatedly punched in the face by Lucifer.
Angelic power - As an angel, he most likely possessed high angelic power, especially as the leader of the Exorcists. His strength was proven to be immense, surpassing all but the strongest of Demons and Sinners as he was able to easily overwhelm both Alastor and later Charlie, who had assumed her full demon form and could have won had Lucifer not interfered.
Portal creation - Adam could create portals for other Angels to use, notably to transport himself and his Exorcist army to Hell at the start of each annual extermination. He also opened a portal to banish Charlie and Vaggie back to Hell in "Welcome to Heaven".
Conjuration - Adam could summon objects as he pleased, summoning his guitar and physical Exorcist copies during Hell is Forever, a golden scroll informing Charlie of Heaven's decision to move up the next Extermination, and a piece of golden paper to write on in court.
Alteration - Adam also showed he could alter the objects he created, such as when he made his axe guitar larger while fighting Alastor.
Photokinesis - Adam could fire blasts of holy light strong enough to vaporize Sir Pentious and his war machine in one small blast and slice tall buildings in half. He also showed he could channel his light through his guitar/axe to create powerful blades of light that were able to cut through Alastor's cane and through his fist to destroy demonic barriers. In "Overture", he created a giant bright orb of light above him while he was singing Hell is Forever.
Skillset
Musical talent - He was capable of singing and in "Overture" was implied to have been part of a band.
Guitar-playing - Adam was talented at playing the guitar and did so seemingly whenever he could.
Axe proficiency - Adam wielded his guitar-axe with amazing skill as he could fight out and seriously wound Alastor during their duel.
Leadership - Adam appeared to be a competent and capable leader of the Exorcists, often personally leading them into battle. Additionally, Adam appears to genuinely care for his subordinates.
Strategic mind - In both "Overture" and "The Show Must Go On", Adam demonstrates sound and logical thinking both in and out of combat; in the former, Adam waits to begin the next extermination so as not to prematurely reveal his plan, while in the latter, Adam personally attacks high-threat targets to even the odds for his Exorcists, as seen with his battle with Alastor, since he recognized him as the conjurer of the hotel's barrier.

USS Sorcerer (NCC-9670-B), Arlington-class long-range fast dreadnought:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Arlington-class reference art via @MarcSherwood8 on Twitter)
The Arlington-class dreadnought USS Sorcerer (NCC-9670-B) started her life as an Odyssey-class dreadnought, one of the sister ships of the USS Enterprise-F. Like her famous sister, the Sorcerer was heavily damaged in the 2411 Battle of Midnight, the climactic battle of the Iconian War, fought above Earth. The Sorcerer lay in spacedock above Mars for several years as subsequent events redirected Federation shipbuilding towards new endeavors. Finally beginning reconstruction in 2412, she saw several planned refit suggestions come and go - first, she was to be rebuilt to Odyssey-class standard, then to the upgraded Yorktown-class refit, then the upgunned Lexington-class subclass of the Yorktown-class. Finally, in 2414, it was decided that the Sorcerer would become the second in the newly designed Arlington-class of long-range fast-response dreadnoughts, to spearhead a new Federation effort to explore the Gamma Quadrant alongside the Federation's allies in the Klingon Empire, Romulan Republic, Tzenkethi Coalition, and the newly peaceful Dominion, as well as follow up on issues related to the Hur'q Crisis of 2411. Under the command of Captain Yanute, the vessel was relaunched on January 1, 2416, the 5th anniversary of the Battle of Midnight.
The Arlington-class long-range fast dreadnought:
As a descendant of the Odyssey-class, the Arlington is one of the largest ships ever built by the Federation; the subclass measures 1041.5 meters long, 385.22 meters at the beam, with a draught of over 200 meters, and a mass of over 7.25 million metric tons. With a crew of over 900, space for a full Starfleet Marine Corps battalion of 800+ members, and an embarked air wing of 400 personnel, the immense long-range vessel is thusly provided with a laundry list of amenities ranging from an internal promenade/mall, a dozen holodecks, two arboretums, two internal pool/sauna complexes, three main social lounges, and dozens of observation areas.
Able to maintain quantum slipstream travel for a full six hours, the Arlington-class combines its impressive speed with some of the heaviest firepower ever added to a Federation vessel. Boasting 29 MkXV phaser arrays, 4 light and 4 heavy MkXV pulsed phaser cannons, and a whopping 14 multipurpose torpedo/probe launch tubes. These tubes are capable of fully automated loading of the full Federation probe range, as well as photon, quantum, and transphasic torpedoes, the latter-most only available in limited quantities due to weapons limitation treaties.
In addition, the Arlington-class carries over the Lexington-class's phaser spinal lance, capable of devastating damage against vessels even larger than the Arlington. The phaser lance has been colloquially nicknamed the "Wave Motion Gun" by Lexington- and Arlington-class crew members, as it's immense energy discharge resembles that of a similarly devastating weapon from a late 20th century Earth science fiction franchise.
The Arlington also plays host and mother ship to an Eagle-class light "parasite" escort, itself a formidable and agile vessel, armed with multiple phaser arrays, four phaser cannons, and four torpedo tubes. A full wing of 60 Federation Aerospace Force Valkyrie aerospace fighters, falling under the command of the vessels' Commander Air Group, rounds out the vessels' firepower.
Defenses consist of a quadruple-layer hyper-capacitor-based metaphasic shield array, a full meter of albative armor, and a full suite of phaser- and microtorpedo-based CIWS systems; the Arlington is also fitted for but not with a Nanotech Molecular Ablative Generator field array, based on technology from an alternate 25th century.

A little character study I did a while ago, trying to figure out new ways of painting, style changes while remaining more on the realistic side... And sword props, 'cause I LOVE drawing swords.
(And I made up the thing written on Excalibur, I know the Legend says it's "Take me Up/Cast me Away", but I wanted something more tied to Arthur's character and why he's the only one who can wield it)
King Arthur and his Knights are one of my favourite stories, so I wanted to work on some ~character designs~ for them (a little d&d-ish like...?)! Working as well on presentation and something I'd enjoy having on my portfolio/doing as a character comission/project/first draft.
Also, tried to test some different layers while colouring, ended up with a sort of vitral looking thing for him:
Tumblr media
Which I also enjoyed a lot :3
Now, regarding character and clothes and all - and some of my takes on Arturian Legend, and just me being a big Arthur and his Knights fangirl overall, under the cut ^^
When it comes to King Arthur, I enjoy more the historical findings and more modern retellings that Arthur would have been a war general, not a king, around the 5th century - fighting saxons on the bloody fiedls of Britain while praying to pagan gods. So that's the direction I'm going for here - even if I took some ~historical liberties~ regarding how everything looks.
(alsooo BIG DISCLAIMER: I'm a product of catholic school and I have a personal beef with all the religion/God/catholic values of the ~legends~ hence why I prefer seeing all of them as a bunch of normal guys surviving the drenched in blood politics of the 5th century rather than chaste, virtuous knights of the 11th century - it's a personal stance, you are more than welcome to disagree in a civilized manner ^^)
Here we have him then: Arthur, uncrowned king of Britain, probably Uther's bastard son, one hell of a war general and politician dealing with the saxons and pulverized british kings fighting for the Great King crown - who just dreams of having a normal life in a nice place with Guinevere and watch his sons grow in a land with peace and justice.
Oh, Arthur, my sweet summer child, I've got news for you...
I Used red on him as a more ~regal colour~, even if usually purple are more the colours of kings and royalty (historically speaking, as far as I know, I'm not really a historian T-T).
Now, a lot of his armor - and looks - comes from Bernard Cornwell's The Winter King book series, that is about Arthur and his Knights. I remember reading Arthur's appearance in a field of war for the first time and my own imagination had me in awe of how stunning (heroic like, not beauty like) he was HAHAHAHA
Shiny dragonscale armor, white vests, white cape, bright sword, mounting on a white Shire Horse (one of the biggest horse breeds ever) that only he and his Knights mounted, making them famous for it... A vision, to say the least!
The white cape and clothes didn't work for this design though. I wanted to make a white cape, dirty with mud and blood, but overall, not good for the design. Went with red because it looks better, it's a royal looking colour for me and it has that blood thing. Arthur might have been fair and with great morals for his time, but he was a killer drenched in blood, head to toes, just like every other great war general.
I want to make a series of Arthurian Legend related illustrations and such, so this is the Arthur I picture and the one I've always had in mind: idealistic, fighting for peace and justice, suffering a lot in a world where blood and corruption is the accepted currency; but even so, he won't abandon his own values and will keep fighting for a better Britain, even if he has to coat himself in the blood of his enemies.
After reading a LOT on Arthur and his Knights - be it classic Arthurian Legend tales, Le Mort D'Arthur, Mists of Avalon, all the Arthurian movies ever made, researches, university talks on Arthur as a character and who were the historical figures he was based on, Bernard Cornwell's books, and a bunch of other stuff told ya I'm an Arthur fangirl :') - I decided to work on my own take of the story, as a lot of people have done before.
Whenever you see any illustrations from me, it's going to be this idea I have in my mind of how his story was like - and what I would've liked to see in books/movies on Arthur and his Knights :)
just you wait for my Lancelot and my Guinevere

Scythian archers 400 BCE. Gold sew-on clothing appliqué in the form of two Scythian archers back to back, probably blood-brothers. Possibly of Greek manufacture for Scythian buyer.
"Babylonian texts frequently mention gimirrāya (literally “Cimmerians”). The reference is probably to members of the Saka (Scythian) tribes of Central Asia, who spoke one of the Old Iranian dialects. In Achaemenid Babylonia they served in the king’s army. Among the Sakai in the Persian army in Babylonia were those whose job it was to guard the boats carrying official cargoes by order of the Persian administration. A document of the year 524 mentions Scythians with the Iranian names Usukaya and Tattakkaya (M. A. Dandamayev, “Saka Soldiers on Ships,” Iranica Antiqua 22, 1982, pp. 101-02).
As early as the seventh century B.C. the Scythians had mounted raids on Western Asia, and a Scythian influence on Babylonian armor is noticeable even before the Persian conquest of Mesopotamia. The soldiers of Nebuchadnezzar II and Nabonidus were often equipped with Scythian bows, Scythian bronze- and iron-tipped arrows, and various other Scythian items including Scythian harnesses for their horses. In the pre-Persian levels at Babylon archeologists have found bronze arrowheads of the Scythian type. These technological borrowings occurred because the Scythian bows were vastly superior to the Babylonian in their ballistic qualities (M. A. Dandamayev, “Data of the Babylonian Documents from the 6th to the 5th Centuries B.C. on the Sakas,” in Prolegomena to the Sources on the History of Pre-Islamic Central Asia, ed. J. Harmatta, Budapest, 1979, pp. 95-109)."

Balvor “Blackhand”
The Breaker of Oberon
Scourge of the Thousand
The Brutal
Captain of the Fifth
Malvain Balvor
Tumblr media
A space marine captain is known to embody everything a brother should be. Veterans with decades if not centuries of experience, there is little that can match them on the field of battle. In the Skulls a lieutenant must be chosen and judged by the whole of chapter command. Should the brother’s merit convince them, they are permitted to carry the soul of the previous captain and rise to his station.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Striding through the blood and fury of battle, Captain Malvain Balvor is that embodiment. Leading from the front, clad in blessed Gravis armor, Balvor is a beacon to the brothers of the 5th company. Unstoppable force and immovable object both he is unyielding in all things, his legendary perseverance pushing his warriors to new heights.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Clad over his prosthetic left arm he wields The Blackhand. A millennia-old power fist, this sign of office bears the name of every captain who has worn it. It is rumored that the brother who can commune with every ancestor who has wielded it in the past will see its true strength unlocked.

Would The Harbringers of The Roundtable Armor and Weapons alter their appearance to reflect the homeland of the current Reincarnation?
Like if MC is from Japan would their roundtable armor transform into samurai armor or have Japanese motifs and MC's sword transform into a katana or a japanese lance.
Tumblr media
The Ultimate Weapons and all the cool magic gear that the MC (and the other Harbingers) will get access to at the end of the game once they remember their past incarnations will be the exact same equipment that they had in their previous life.
So if you're actually King Arthur Reborn (Spoilers: MC's not actually Arthur) then you'd show up in his silvery-star armor with Excalibur/Caliburn/five-million-other-magic-weapons exactly as they appeared in 5th Century Britannia.
Theoretically *ahem* once the Veil comes down you can hie off to one of the elven smiths and get your stuff reforged into a different shape. But considering you'd be dealing with the fae, it'd have to be for a much more pressing reason than just aesthetics.

Linnorms are a more primeval type of dragon, found in the ancient corners of the world where they've been slowly driven back by modern dragons and civilization. They are ancient creatures, even the weakest among them being a massive individual threat, but their numbers have dwindled over the centuries. Crag linnorms are among the weakest of their kind, but still measure well over 60 feet from nose to tail, and the magma they breath clings and continues to burn in an exceptionally painful manner. The ancient gods that blessed the linnorms in ages past leave a powerful curse upon the one who kills a crag linnorm, causing fires to scorch the killer far more effectively.
I released 5e stats for a crag linnorm years ago, after using it in one of my games. In the years since I've certainly improved my design a little, so this is an update with a few wording improvements, some formatting, and also reducing its damage and defenses slightly to put it more in line with the expected numbers for its level. I also made it a legendary creature, as the initial creation just completely forgot about that design feature.
Originally from the Pathfinder Bestiary. This post came out a week ago on my Patreon. If you want to get access to all my monster conversions early, as well as access to my premade adventures and other material I’m working on, consider backing me there!
5th Edition
Crag Linnorm Gargantuan dragon, chaotic evil Armor Class 18 (natural armor) Hit Points 214 (13d20 + 78) Speed 30 ft., fly 50 ft., swim 30 ft. The creature that kills the linnorm must make a DC 18 Charisma saving throw or be affected by a curse of fire. The cursed target loses any resistance or immunity to fire, and gains vulnerability to fire. The curse lasts until removed by the remove curse spell or other magic. If a creature attempts to remove the curse with a spell besides wish, the caster must succeed on a DC 16 ability check using its spellcasting ability score. On a failure, the spell fails. Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the linnorm fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead. Regeneration. The linnorm regains 15 hit points at the start of its turn. If the linnorm takes damage from a weapon made of cold-iron, this trait doesn't function at the start of the linnorm's next turn. Actions Multiattack. The linnorm makes three attacks: one with its Bite and two with its Claws. Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (2d10+7) piercing damage and the target must make a DC 19 Constitution saving throw, taking 7 (2d6) fire and 7 (2d6) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (1d12+7) slashing damage. Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d6+7) bludgeoning damage and the target is grappled (escape DC 15). Until the grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the linnorm can't use its tail on another creature. Constrict. One target the dragon is grappling must succeed on a DC 20 Constitution saving throw, taking 23 (4d8+7) bludgeoning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful save. Breath Weapon (Recharge 5-6). The linnorm exhales magma in a 120-foot line that is 5 feet wide. Each creature in that line must make a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw, taking 42 (12d6) fire damage on a failed saving throw, or half as much damage on a successful one. At the start of the linnorm's next turn, any creature that took damage from the breath weapon must repeat the saving throw, taking 14 (4d6) fire damage on a failed save from magma stuck to its body. A creature that takes an action to scrape magma off of its body doesn't need to repeat the save. Legendary Actions The crag linnorm can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The crag linnorm regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn. Move. The linnorm moves up to half its speed without provoking opportunity attacks. Tail Attack. The linnorm makes a Tail attack. Constrict (Costs 2 Actions). The linnorm uses Constrict.
13th Age
Linnorms consider themselves above the modern dragons, even the Icons. The fact that crag linnorms can't handle most huge dragons in a direct fight doesn't matter, they predate these usurpers and so are the true actual dragons. This pride and confrontational manner means that few can be found even on the fringes of the Dragon Empire. No Icon supports linnorms, leaving them alone to try and carry on their ancient pride.
Crag Linnorm  Huge 9th level wrecker [dragon]  Initiative: +14 Toxic Bite +14 vs. AC - 75 damage. A new plot bunny enters the fray
MHA/Fate plot bunny
Mineta is replaced by Shirou (already, an improvement).
Shirou's quirk, Round Table, at first appears to be summoning knights of the Fate round table, with Artoria being his first summon. Cue her introducing herself as "ARTHUR, KING OF THE BRITONS". She doesn't know the reference.
Izuku is still very much like canon at the start of the series, and Shirou does not come in at Aldera. Things really start to change at the entrance exam.
Due to a misunderstanding (and maybe a bit of Nezu sadism?) Artoria isn't allowed to join the exam and has to sit this one out. Of course, she expresses her displeasure in a manner befitting her royal standing (she is NOT pouting).
Shirou summons Gawain and Lancelot for the exam, and they promptly start stomping all the robots into the ground. Of course, there is tension between them, but they manage to keep it to jeering and snarking.
Because he needs to be taken down a peg, Bakugo is in the same arena as Shirou. So he has to share his pool of robotic victims with two knights in shining armor (very litterally in Gawain's case), all while Shirou (being much more well adjusted than in the VN/anime) helps people around.
so, the result is Bakugo landing, like, 3rd in the exam, with Shirou somewhere around 8th. He's good, but he's not OP (that's the knights' job).
Due to the increase in costs associated with the Knights being there, the Emiya household needs more funds. Retired underground hero Kiritsugu doesn't have enormous savings, and Irisviel's car racing is not a very regular source of income. It is, however, a regular source of costs. Between her tunning habits and her wreacking cars ... The only one to really bring regular income is ... their third(?) Maiya with her job in private security.
So, Artoria saves the day by ... writing books. On how life was in 5th Century Britain, on the religious and cultural context of the time, and of course transcriptions of plays and treaties lost to time. She makes a pretty penny off of that, and of course gets tear stained letters of gratitude from historians every week.
Her existence does cause a fair bit of a stir in Europe mind you ...

Mobilized Russian troops fighting in Ukraine have complained in a video about old equipment, a lack of effective command and being sent out as cannon fodder.
Since the start of the war, reports have abounded of low morale among Russian troops and a lack of training and equipment, in particular for those who have been mobilized as part of the draft announced at the end of September.
But this latest clip, which as of Monday had been viewed more than 100,000 times, gave a snapshot of the extent of some of the broader complaints that have been emerging on social media from mobilized Russian troops.
Tweeted by the account of War Translated, the clip shows a group of Russian soldiers in an undisclosed location behind a man in front saying: "We appeal to commander-in-chief Vladimir Putin." He said they were drafted from Russia's Kaliningrad, Murmansk and Arkhangelsk regions and were serving in the 5th Motorized Brigade.
Among his list of complaints was how his regiment hadn't been given any strategy or tactics. They had also been sent into assaults with no cooperation with commanders, a lack of fire support and no way to conduct night and day surveillance.
"We're lacking armored vehicles and artillery support ahead of the assault," he said, and "weapons from the 1940s are being used, including mortars and guns."
He spoke of how there was no air reconnaissance, no written combat orders and that the group was prepared for territorial defense, not as an assault unit. During its first assault, six of the regiment's troops had been killed in one trench.
"We're asking you to pay rigorous attention to the preparation of the assault by the brigade," he said, adding that punitive measures against them for being rioters "are already being prepared," including being locked in cellars.
"We have no rioters," he said, "we are all 30 to 40 years old, we have families and children and higher education."
Another man in the group complains about old combat vehicles. "People die for nothing, people are sent into frontal attacks, sent into an empty field in the 21st century," the unnamed soldier said.
"We can't fight like that and we won't achieve victory with minor casualties." While on other fronts, Russian personnel had been preserved in favor of vehicles and artillery, "the complete opposite happens here."
"We are not meat, we are ready to fight with dignity," he added.
Newsweek has contacted the Russian defense ministry about the claims, which come as Western analysts are noting how Russian forces have relied on older equipment in the face of huge losses of vehicles.
