okay the one other thing I dislike thus far in arkham knight is the narrative that Tim is in love with Barbara you stop that at once

#why does Tim look like Chris O Donnell's Robin where is his fukkin middle part diaster bowl cut #but as much as i hate that bruce is withholding information to keep tim focused its like. that tracks hes such an ass #love finally getting the hang of using the batmobile battle mode and just gliding and blowing stuff up #AND THERE'S MANBAT #the other very important question is Where Is Dick and Is Nightwing Gonna Come Help #are they still in Brooding Avoidance with each other?

DP X DC Dont Scratch the Ice

It wasn't October in Gotham if Manbat hadn't gone on a rampage, and Dick was currently chasing Kirk Langstrom through the densely populated Main Street in Gotham, so by God was it fucking October.

They'd mostly kept on rooftops so far and Dick honestly thought this chase was going to be relatively easy until suddenly, thanks to decades of poor infrastructure maintenance, the sky light the scientist-turned-bat was using as a launchpad fell through under his weight and left him falling downward into Gotham City's indoor Ice Rink.

Dropping down on the ice, Nightwing made the startling realization that he neither had the skill set to gracefully slide across the ice on his soft, noise proof shoes, nor the normal winter cleat accessories to remedy the issue.

Trying to both stand up and think of a way to properly fight/corral Manbat on the ice, he saw him cornering a large group of skaters. Thinking fast, Dick launched his grapple to hook on the frame of the plexiglass wall surrounding the Rink itself and used that momentum to nail the Manbat in the back of the head with his knee. "ICE to meet you, big guy! This fight would be a lot better off somewhere else, don't you Rink?" He quipped.

Manbat roared, the skaters screamed, and his jokes went criminally unappreciated.

Springing off the plexiglass barrier, Dick tried to think up his next move when he saw two skaters split off from the pack and lead Manbat to the center of the Rink. Rushing to try and separate the two suicidal civilians from the rabid bat-creature-thing nearly ready to tear them to shreds, he stopped short as a third came shooting down from the opposite end of the rink and making a spray stop right in front of the Manbat- but instead of the snow spray they were expecting a wall of ice came up from his skates and froze Dr. Langstrom into place.

"So is this the Batman everyone's been talking about? Because if so he's really gonna have to help us fill in these grooves."

One of the two who split off came circling back. "No this is Man Bat. Kinda like you, just uncontrollable rampaging bat form." She said, looking appreciatively at the wall of ice.

"More of a Jekyll/Hyde situation I think, or the Hulk." The second commented, slowly skating back to his friends, but as he was nearly there his skate caught on one of the deep scratches the Manbat had caused and he fell face first.

So most of the angst in this AU comes in after Tim is supposedly cured. Things seems fine for a few weeks, in fact Tim's feeling better than ever, but he starts to notice that the lingering effects of the Manbat serum are not going away.

Bright lights still bother him and his hearing is still way too sensitive. He tries to stave off his numerous headaches with pills, but nothing works, and when he snaps at Jason one night his voice morphs into an inhuman shriek.

After an awkward moment, Tim and Jason agree it's time for a checkup.

After testing for an hour, they find out what the problem is. It turns out the Manbat formula re-grew Tim's missing spleen. Unfortunately Tim's new spleen also infected the rest of his body with mutated bat genes.

So now if Tim becomes too frightened or is hurt too much, he will transform back into a Manbat.

Feeling batty AU

-One thing that will always trigger a manbat transformation for Tim is Fear Toxin.

-Everyone in the Batfam now carries a cure for Tim, especially for situations just like this.

-Tim as a Manbat is still relatively intelligent, but he can get really violent if one of his family members is badly hurt, and he won't stop until the threat is down.

I have this problem where I forget who I’ve shared this headcanon with so now the answer’s gonna be ALL OF YOU

1) the Batfam get some Fenton tech when Danny explains the whole ghost mess

2) the Batkids specifically realise Jason can the thermos’d

3) Jason declares bullshit that only he can be thermos’d, he’s still at least half alive

4) Danny and Jason and Tucker debate the merits of a human-capable thermos, specifically for Gotham’s rogues

5) much work later, a human-capable thermos is devised

6) Jason shares this information by going on a rabid campaign to thermos every single one of his siblings

7) Alfred gets the first model so he can send Tim and Bruce to Soup Time and make them sleep

This is going in like chapter 20 of Dead and Loving It so by all means please steal Batkid Thermos Tag because nothing in this world makes me happier

Except Dick teaching them all combat juggling but they can do both
