Satsuki can’t stand sleeping without you. Once he has a taste of before bed cuddling followed by a sweet serving of morning cuddling, he’d never be the same. He doesn’t know how he lived without it before, but he certainly couldn’t let himself be without it again. You never suspected it’d go in this direction as he was so nervous about your first sleepover he had nearly bailed, but you’re glad he was a man of his word. Once he realized this was just getting to be with his best friend without having to say goodbye he didn’t have the same unsettled nerves, knowing there had never been a reason to get worked up in the first place when this was exactly what he had dreamed of.

15. ♥ Do they enjoy talking to their partners before going to sleep or is it straight to dreamland?

Satsuki loves to hear you talk. Any sleepy rambling is like an arrow directly in the heart, almost in agony from how adorable you were. He preferred letting you be the one to talk but if you prodded enough he’d give a rundown of his day, although you tended to spend your days together. He thinks his dreams are always more pleasant when you have a little chat before bed even if it’s something simple and quick like exchanging ‘I love yous’ and ‘I love you more’.

Leona breaks rules because he can, or pushes the very limits just to see how far he can go before it all falls apart. All eyes aren’t on him, at least most aren’t, aside from his nosy family members and those in the guard who may not trust his ambition. He knows how to pull the wool over Fareena’s eyes for the most part, though his sister-in-law is a different case. He’s not a patient man but he’s not pushy either; if he only wanted a night or two of fun he would’ve never committed to begin with, so you can take that to heart if you doubt his feelings.

12. ♥ Do they seek to find a partner purely to further the bloodline and name, is it for true love, or is it for pleasure alone?

Leona laughed at the thought of furthering his bloodline. Subject his child to 2nd place by default their entire life? Yeah, right. It’s a thought that drifts with time as he can’t help but want an heir himself, he refers to it as his natural kingly want even without being a king, but you think he just wants to raise a fighter willing to look out for the ‘little guy’ too just in case Cheka doesn’t do a good enough job. There is something to be said about the kinds of people he’d choose to date, ones that would be suitable for family life if they wanted it. Dating is mostly left to his own whims and he doesn’t do it often, if at all, as getting to know new people was a hassle and he hated wasting his own time.

16. ♥ Do they have at least one bonding activity they devote to doing with their partner exclusively?

Napping. Yes, yes, very stereotypical for the lazy lion but he didn’t trust just anyone to join him. Sleeping soundly around another person was like exposing your belly in a room full of predators; you wouldn’t do it if you felt like you’d be torn to shreds. He’s placing his trust in you to keep him safe and warm while he slumbers. He doesn’t reveal his expectations of you being his pillow until it’s far too late for you to run.

28. ♥ Do they understand their partners/person they are courtings feelings without them having to say anything?

Leona is as sharp as a carnivore’s claw. Many things could be said about him but his intelligence was rarely in question. He might not always verbally confirm things, but the longer you’re together the more familiar he is with you. Conscious or unconscious, he noticed the way you move or hold yourself, the way you speak and the specific words you pick whether you’re coddling someone or in an argument. He’s aware when you divert from your norm, whether its due to anger or sadness or embarrassment. It’s like chess, a game he’s quite good at, and you’re always stunned when he finally calls you out when he asks for the ‘why’ behind your changes.  

Jamil Viper:

Jamil doesn’t have any strong feelings one way or the other, but you do notice he’s the type to take it slow. He’s not embarrassed by physical affection per se but the closer you get, the more you feel him tense. He’s worried about getting too attached too fast, and while the sanctity of marriage isnt the first thing on his mind, there are some interactions you have that are so domestic Jamil can’t help but daydream about what married life might consist of with you.

Jamil isn’t entirely game to have children, for a variety of reasons that include not wanting them to be in servitude from birth. He has doubts, feeling guilty if a family is something you had always wanted, but he had never really seen that for himself. But he also can’t say he’s seen romance for himself either, or that anyone would want to date him despite his loyalty being sworn to another, so there’s a chance for change and he might be willing to reconsider a childless future.

16. ♥ Do they have at least one bonding activity they devote to doing with their partner exclusively?

Sightseeing. This only applied when you were out of the country, likely at the whim of Kalim going on his royal duties, but Jamil is given enough ‘personal time’ when he’s surrounded by the royal guards of other families. He liked to drag you around with him to places of interest, from the markets to the ruins that seem to line every city; his eyes always glow when he’s left to adventure on his own with no obligations to reassure the safety of who he’s with, though he is wary about going anywhere dangerous when you’re tagging along with him.

28. ♥ Do they understand their partners/person they are courtings feelings without them having to say anything?

Wires can get crossed from time to time, but Jamil isn’t stupid. He knows how to read people to an extent and he can be hyperaware of his surroundings due to his job, so he noticed plenty about you. Some little habits, the way you acted when you were happy or upset or contemplating existence, he just never knew how to use that to his advantage. Learning how to use the information you present him is more the issue he’s presented with but never doubt that Jamil will figure it out for the sake of keeping you as his.

Doppo is more go with the flow when it comes to intimacy. His experience with it is little to none at best and if he loves you, he’ll gladly wait if that’s what you want. If you’re simply enjoying each other’s company one day and hanging out, with it slowly leading into intimacy, he’ll be totally fine with that too. Just being loved and cared about at all has him floating through the clouds.

27. ♥ Have they had dreams about their partner/the person they are courting?

Doppo has dreams AND nightmares. He’s frequently plagued by nightmares about his boss, some of which feature you being wooed or dating said boss, which was probably the only thing that could make his life worse. On his better days the nightmares are replaced with dreams of you in his arms, or rolling over to wake up to you beside him with a smile like the sun, while others are much less wholesome but just as enjoyable.

It moreso depends on how much you want to sleep next to the chaotic sleeper that is Akira. You’ll probably get kicked in the night, or at least have no space to yourself in the morning as he tended to cling to the warmest thing in the room when he was asleep. You’ll never have your own side of the bed because Akira naturally gravitated closer to you, even if it was just a leg thrown out over yours; he admittedly like the skin-on-skin contact with you, but he’d try to stick to his side of the bed if it made you upset.

17. ♥ What sort of characteristics or quirks draw them to someone?

A good fighter.

Passionate.

Independent.  

Not controlling over him or his choices.

A good shoulder to lean on.

22. ♥ Tell us about a sacrifice they made for their significant other.

He had finally managed to get Brad in the training room for a one-on-one when he heard from Will that you were injured on patrol. It made him twitchy to think about you hurt and, despite telling himself there’s nothing he could do about it regardless, he knew you’d feel better if he came in to check on you. He can’t make it through the training session without being distracted which had Brad ultimately deciding to reschedule, telling Akira to do what was clearly on his mind rather than wasting both of their times. Brad could tell Akira was serious about whatever his thoughts might have centered on as he didn’t even fight back, simply leaving the room to go about his business since the opportunity presented itself.

Tsuzuru just wanted to do things for you. His love language had been taking care of people so it’s no surprise his flirting ended up being something that came so natural to him. It might be hard to tell as he was a naturally doting person, but there’s some extra care when it comes to preparing your lunches or receiving friendly reminder texts.

19. ♥ What was their first impression about their partner/person they are courting?

Tsuzuru thought you were a little intimidating, but had trouble pinpointing why. Even if you had a gentle personality he still felt this pressure to not embarrass himself in front of you, a feeling that the others in spring troupe have referred to as love at first sight (first flight, according to Citron). This only made him feel even more pressure to keep your impression of him positive, and after awhile you did let him know you wanted to know the authentic Tsuzuru (you later learned he just was a busybody, but he had a more relaxed side to him as well).

To have Kanata have this faith in you was like being bestowed with the rarest treasure in the world, but it is fragile so it's best to treat it with care.

Kanata is admittedly bad at expressing his feelings, so one thing you’ll have to come to terms with is understanding he’s not as openly loving as other partners might be. There are plenty of people who, in public, would assume you were just friends, but Kanata doesn’t feel the need to perform his love. He shows it in little moments, by knowing when you needed him by your side, by trying his hardest to love you in the way you want even if it’s the opposite of his love style; you could never claim that Kanata doesn’t put effort into everything he does for you.

Making out hadn’t bothered him after the first kiss CG had been unlocked, but stripping down with his scrawny chest and even paler than his face skin out for you to see? He didn’t know what skill set or items can enhance his courage, but you have to give him the space to mull it over and think about what would be most comfortable for his first time.

Idia dreamed of being a technological power couple with his partner, his basis for this similar to his own parents. While they weren’t perfect, he wanted a person who understood him without words being needed. It just made sense that would be a person who shared the same knowledge and skills as him (partly, he hardly expected to find a person who reached his actual level).

Idia had always perceived you as intimidatingly attractive. He had first spotted you during the sorting ceremony, and after decisively thinking there was no chance of you ending up in Ignihyde, he had tried to wipe you from his mind. It’s silly now to think something as petty as being sorted into different dorms would stop a genuine connection but Idia had always limited his face-to-face interaction, so it was fair that he didn’t assume you’d ever meet in an organic way.

Idia really wouldn’t be getting sleep if he saw you in his dreams too. Even dreaming about you rejecting him wouldn’t hurt as badly as his nightmares with Ortho when he was younger (and sometimes in the present). A lot of Idia’s crushing is seeing you in the content he consumes, his favorite characters reflecting traits he then found in you.

There was no reason for you to get caught up in the Eclipse attack, and it was even more unlikely that you’d end up right in front of Siams, who had been watching you quietly from the sidelines for a long time now. Never on purpose, you just seemed to constantly stumble across his path whenever he was above ground, and more and more it felt like it was fate binding you together. There’s no title assigned to the relationship you have but he snuck away when he could to see you, trying to stop you from getting caught up in other attacks to the best of his ability.

It’s honestly not a thought Juza has ever had. Even after you began dating he hadn’t thought about the intimate part of your relationship yet, overwhelmed already by the part where you could hold hands without it being awkward. Even after he doesn’t have a strong opinion regarding it, leaving it up to you; he tended to let you lead the way in the relationship, wary of making a wrong move that might have you breaking it off with him.

23.  ♥ Do they apologize to their partner even if it wasn’t their fault?

Juza can sometimes be stubborn enough to not immediately apologize when something isn’t his fault, while other times he’s stunned into silence and unable to think of the words to use in response to the argument. Arguing with you was surely at the top of his list of things that shook him to his core and he hated doing it, sometimes wishing you could both just move on without having to bring it up again. You’re always stronger for it and Juza does eventually realize that one little mistake isn’t going to cause you to break up with him, so he gained his own voice when he wanted to make his thoughts known.
