Also, do you know about the "Dad Lore"? Those are the little but completely unhinged stories about himself that your father sometimes mentions, from the time before he met your mother. Those memories are usually completely insane, unbelievable and able to left you stunned - but the point is, the Dad(tm) says it like it is completely normal that he was almost kidnapped once, was in Bosnia durning the war or almost married the most famous actress in your country. He just says it and then never mentions it again. Like, why should he? It isn't all that interesting, it is just a normal occurence. And you are left with your jaw on the floor.
I just realized that Elsa, Anna and Kristoff must feel something similar when Hans mentiones anything from the last three years of his life. He - or someone from his crew - just tells a funny little story about why is this eldritch sea creature pissed at them - and goes on with his chores. And Arendellians are left with the biggest "WTF" on their faces because what do you mean you stole all the articles from Davy Jones' locker?
When the story is particulary crazy he may add something along the lines of "don't tell Lars".
