Beel

Beel can be a little forgetful, so sometimes he misplaced his jacket. He always finds it in the end, either through his brothers or his own means, so he's completely stumped when he's looked everywhere and STILL can't find it. And he's starting to get hungry again, so now he's more interested in going to the kitchen.

Then he finds you exiting your room, rubbing the sleep of your afternoon nap from your eyes. You don't seem to notice him and just quietly wander past, wearing Beel's jacket.

He doesn't even stop you, just watching you go before he's suddenly forgetting all about his hunger pains, and more interested in quietly following you like a dog.

You both end up in the kitchen, and he's still watching over you happily while you eat some chips. Don't mind him while he uhhhhh picks you up and takes him to his room so he can hold you lmao

"MC.... did you have my jacket this entire time? I was looking for it. Oh, I'm not angry or anything, I like seeing you wear it. You should do that more often."

Belphie

He realizes that you took something so fast-

Belphie may be able to sleep anywhere, but he has to be comfortable enough for it. That comfort usually comes in the form of his jacket, so when he discovers it's missing and has looked everywhere, he gets a little agitated.

Grumpy boy goes to find you to force you to take a nap with him until he feels better, and discovers that you're guilty. But his annoyance is replaced by pride when he sees how comfortable you look, napping away in his jacket.

He's not letting you keep it of course, but he's sure there's something else he can let you wear instead. Part of him is convinced you're only wearing it because it's comfortable, while the other part wonders if you're wearing it because it's his...

So he pokes your face until you wake up, and demands an answer. "You took my jacket without asking, huh? I couldn't sleep a wink because of you.....If you wanted to feel like I was with you, you should've just went to my room. Scoot over, I'm joining you."

Medieval Sub-Zero : west_coast_ccprops93

The character I cosplay is an original concept Sub Zero from the video game series Mortal Kombat. I reimagined him as a medieval character complete with armor head to toe, sword, shield and of course a knight’s helmet that resembled the menpo mask depicted in the video games.

There are elements of samurai, Roman, Viking and medieval European influences. The character I created spawns from a love of all my favorite fandoms such as Lord of the rings, Fantasy RPGs like Skyrim and the Witcher series. Mortal Kombat on the other hand has a deeper place in my heart since it was major part of my childhood and a video game that my brother and I bonded over. We both equally know all the lore to each character and together have played and beaten almost every game in series over the years.

Sub Zero was always a character I gravitated towards growing up. His combos in the game were brutal and worth taking the time to learn, and of course his ice powers (who wouldn’t love that?). His story line is incredibly interesting being the grandmaster of a mystical Ninja clan called the lin Kuei.

Sub Zero to me is a stoic, formidable character and his presence always reminded me of someone of nobility such as a knight. Of course that is not the main reason why I chose to go medieval. all my cosplays including work I’ve done for others to an extent have been original designs. This has allow me to be more creative and free with my builds instead of stressing to replicate for accuracy.

I had my first fan reaction from a couple of people that recognized me from the previous year. As soon as I took off my helmet they shouted “omg it’s the Kenobi guy from last year!, we can’t believe you out did yourself this year”. This was at a small event located in Temple, Texas that I attended with a local comic con. Other than that to my surprise I’ve received lots of love and admiration from the online cosplay community and my peers.

Normally it’s tricky to change up a character online then to receive negative reactions from people. Luckily the people I communicate and engage with are for the most part other cosplayers and makers who accept originality. I absolutely cannot wait to attend a convention this year and get dehydrated while looking awesome!

THE OUTFIT

The entire costume revolves around a basic male armor template Purchased from Evilted.com and a basic knight helmet template from my friend Ashen Warrior props. The rest is completely free hand using Eva Foam.

Over the course of 2020 I started off first by building the chest armor. I loved the aesthetic of Sub zero’s shoulder armor from Mortal Kombat 11. By complete accident from a incorrectly measure forearm piece fit perfectly atop the shoulders. Continued from there and added the noticeable arch that swoops up towards the neck. I didn’t know at the time but eventually it would cause issues for mobility when wearing my helmet. I loved the look and continued to keep the shoulders the same despite movement complications.

From there I Made my own MK dragon symbol stencil, slapped that on the chest using Eva foam and called it good. The lower torso was missing something so I added interlocking armor that also covered my waist. I did this after browsing concept art and paying homage to the classic ninja Tabards depicted in the video games. I continued to add layer after layer through the year.

As I stated before there was no clear vision for what this costume would look like in the end. Eventually I would complete the armor just by doing free hand foamsmithing.

Late 2020 and the beginning of this year I decided to retire my original sub zero costume and recycle the materials. That was my first costume but it felt right to use the materials for this evolutionary step in my cosplay journey. The original costume was made using parts from a cheap sub zero costume from Spirit Halloween, cotton fabric, a leather bomber jacket from a yard sale and whatever I could find.

These were the missing pieces to Medieval sub zero and added layers of details that sold the character and satisfied my creative hunger. The shield and weapons were also done free hand and referencing random pictures from google. I learned a lot from doing costume and prop weapons commissions through the year.

Keeping the costume comfortable, form fitting but also provide full range of motion for posing and traversing crowds. This forced me to slow down and think before I made, making sure that each piece interlocks correctly. I don’t use any software on computers at the moment (it’s something I should definitely be doing and would save me a lot of time). Now it’s my most detailed and comfortable costume to date.

My wife and I recently did a photoshoot at a local state park. We hiked a mile or two up and down hills and across creeks. Other than being hot under the armor which is expected I was absolutely comfortable. The hardest part was really taking the time to build something durable that should last many conventions and hikes through the woods.

DISCOVERING COSPLAY

My awareness of “cosplay” and prop making didn’t start until late 2019. Before then for years my brother and i would dress up together for Halloween. We both have always customized our costumes since we were young. We were very close growing up and what kept us tougher through our parents divorce and other hardships in our childhood was video games. We grew up very poor but our imagination was rich. We spent our childhood acting out our favorite characters. Then using sticks as lightsabers so on and so forth.

Flash forward 20 years. What motivated me was a Sub Zero mask my brother mailed to me as gift. I had just moved to Texas from Oregon with my wife and daughter. During that time, i slowly sunk into a deep depression and a bad place mentally. I felt isolated, alone and lost. I was away from my childhood town, friends, family and all that i knew. I contemplated suicide which was something I struggled with for years. This was something I’ve dealt with all my life. I have PTSD and depression from events in my childhood and teenage years. Each day is different, I’m either really happy or fearful , anxious and angry. I am always in fight or flight mode.

Well, my little brother sent in the mail a cheap Sub Zero costume and a really expensive mask out of nowhere as a gift. The costume was too small and there were aspects of it that I did not like.

Sure I was appreciative that he gave me a costume but I knew I could remake it. So with no costume making, sewing or cosplay knowledge at all. I set out to make a Sub Zero costume and was determined to make my brother proud. I borrowed my wife’s grandmothers sewing machine and went for it.

Taking apart the original armor pieces, a leather bomber jacket and whatever I could find I made something out of shear will. After that I felt confident enough to make my brother a costume as well but this time using Eva Foam. I spent weeks researching and overspending on materials from Amazon.

Eventually we both had our dream costumes and I was so proud ( mind you they were terrible) but we thought we looked so badass and worth taking out. That same year he flew out to Texas and we attended our first convention together and first time portraying our favorite characters. It was a dream come true. Having people complimenting and taking pictures with us was mind blowing, we felt like celebrities for a day. Two bothers from a small town now in a large convention amongst thousands of people, a community that embraces dressing up and expressing your fandom.

Prop making has changed my life in ways I never thought it would. Personally it unlocked this creative and artistic passion I never knew I had. I’ve always been creative but not focused. It’s a hobby that keeps me sane and happy. It’s a beautiful and wonderful way to express one’s self. Keep making, painting, sewing or doing what you love. Hardships in life are unavoidable but your own personal happiness is always in your control. I still struggle to this day but now have an outlet creatively and a community of friends /colleagues.

Your gaze went down and you met a pair of eyes looking at you with curiosity. It was a guy. A very handsome guy. He was standing on the first floor near a window as big as yours. While you were looking at him, he turned his gaze to the sky. He probably also looked at the sky until you came to the window. You should have looked away, but you didn't want to. The handsome guy was wearing pants and a shirt, and his jacket was lying on the floor next to him. You smiled when you realized that your clothes were the same color and style. It was wrong to stare like that at a person you don't even know when he was in his room. But his handsome face made it impossible to look away. You met his gaze again when he looked at you. He smiled and goosebumps ran down your skin. He nodded his head ‘goodbye’ to you and disappeared into the darkness of the room. For a few more seconds, you continued to stare into an empty dark room before moving your gaze to the sky. “I wonder who he is,” you whispered to yourself. It seems that you just saw another big plus of this house. You smiled and went to the shower, and after then fell asleep.

A few days later, you met your neighbor again as you sat on an armchair near an open window. He smiled and waved at you before you had time to think, you already waved at him with a broad smile. For a second, his gaze fell on you, and you realized that you were dressed alike again, light jeans and a light blue T-shirt. After finishing his coffee, he got up from the floor and left the room. A few minutes later, you heard the noise of the engine, and you realized that it had left. For a second, you wondered if your next outfit would match.

You had to leave for a few days, but you were surprised how much you wanted to return home. You were never tied to home, and frequent trips only made you happy. But now the person you don't even know makes you feel homesick. No matter how hard you resist, you missed him ... When you returned home late at night, you were surprised to see a large box next to your gate. You didn't order anything, then what is this box ... After you parked your car in the garage, you went outside and picked up the box before heading into the house. You went into the kitchen and put it on the big table. You looked at the box, and there was not a single inscription on it. You opened the box and your eyes widened. On top of the white wrapping paper was a note, written in beautiful handwriting.

‘Congratulations on the move. Hope it would look pretty with your armchair. Your neighbour, Jinyoung'

You read the note over and over again, still not believing in its reality. A wide smile appeared on your face. "So his name is Jinyoung." You opened the paper and laughed when you found a soft blanket inside, the same color as your chair. Having risen to your room, you covered your chair with a blanket, thanks to this it began to seem even more cozy and more comfortable than before. Turning to the window, you looked into Jinyoung's dark empty room. You clapped your hands when you remembered that your living room rug has been in your trunk for ages, but it didn't fit your interior. After looking at the empty floor and light interior of Jinyoung's room, you decided it would be the perfect gift for his room. You quickly ran downstairs and, finding a piece of paper, wrote

‘Thank you Jinyoung. Hope this makes a great addition to your room. Your neighbour, ______! ’

Going down to the garage, you took the packed rug, put the note inside, and went outside. You were glad it was night and the street in your neighbourhood was completely empty. You felt like a spy sneaking into someone else's house. Leaving your gift carefully at the entrance, you quickly ran home. Your heart was pounding as fast as after a marathon. You looked at your red face in the mirror until a wave of laughter covered you with "God, I'm acting like a teenager."

You had to leave early in the morning, so you couldn't see Jinyoung. You tried to get home as quickly as possible so that you ‘accidentally’ meet him. And luck was on your side, you managed to return home while it was still daylight. You took a quick shower before fixing your hair and makeup. You walked into the dressing room and picked out a mid-thigh swing dress. You went up to the room on the second floor and went to the window. Your face lit up when you saw on the floor the rug you gifted, next to which there was a cup. You were happy that he liked your gift. You sat down in a chair and took a book, tried to read it. It was hard to concentrate, you read the same line several times. You saw movement in the room, and completely turned your attention to the book, pretending to be immersed in reading, and not spying on your neighbor. You could feel his gaze on you, but you kept looking at one point in the book. You really wanted to see Jinyoung's face, but that would be too obvious. After a while, you raised your head and your heart quickened its pace when a wide smile met you. You waved to him, and pointing to the blanket raised your thumb up, showing what you like it. To which he stroked the rug on which he was sitting and repeated your movement. You laughed. Today he wore a loose shirt and dark pants. He got up and opened the door and went out into the street, you also got up and went out onto the terrace.

“You seem to be copying my clothes,” he said, pointing to the color of his shirt, which was the same as your dress.

"I just wanted to tell you this, that you are copying me"

“I came home earlier”

“But I saw you after I sat and read.”

He laughed and goosebumps covered your skin "Do you always read one page for almost 10 minutes?"

Oops .. I think he noticed it ... "I just could not concentrate, as I felt that someone was staring at me."

This is going to be fun ... you walked back into the room wondering how many stores you would have to walk around to find a same pajamas.

Every day it became more fun to return home, his imagination knew no bounds. You seemed to be at the cosplay festival. You laughed together every night, enjoying each other's company. Even though everyone was in their own house, it seemed like there was nothing between you. After a few weeks of your game, you stood on the terrace in your superman costume and waited for Jinyoung with his next assignment. You were surprised when he walked into the room in an unbuttoned shirt and jeans. He sat down on the floor watching you through the closed window. His gaze was playful, challenging you. You grinned and shook your head to accept his challenge. The next evening, you stood in front of the mirror and looked at yourself. You didn't have the courage to be just in a shirt on your naked body, so you put on a short sports top under the shirt. You went to the window waiting for Jinyoung.

Minutes seemed like an eternity. A dim light will fill his room. He walked in in the same shirt and jeans as yesterday, but today his shirt was buttoned up. In his hand was a glass of wine, and putting it on the floor, he looked at you, evaluating your outfit. His gaze was considered a mockery, because you did not completely repeat his outfit. He reached for his shirt and took the edge shirt out from his jeans, and slowly began to unbutton it. His gaze was heavy, followed by confidence in his every move. Hey! What did you think about KBS Gayo Daejun? I’m still making my way through the stages but it’s so nice to see more third gen groups there *cough MAMA cough*

hello hello!! i also haven't watched every stage but also there were SO many, so i'm not gonna do a whole long post like i did for mama. i will talk about some of my faves though!

i generally really like gayo daejuns because they're basically just music shows with a little more special sauce, and i like that sort of middle range between a normal stage and a big stadium event like mama. this provides an opportunity for groups to spice up their performances a bit without the same massive pressure of production value and in that way it's a little more equalizing. i do wish they hadn't cut up the performances by song because it was pretty clear that most of them were meant to run together (per artist, i mean). it's a petty grievance but i have those sometimes.

my favourite stages were, to no one's surprise probably: sf9, sunmi, and red velvet. nearly choked on my goddamn lunch being so aggressively confronted by jaeyoon in that tiny tiny sparkly bolero jacket, and honestly every outfit in that stage is whiplash inducing. taeyang? that fluffy thing youngbin was wearing?? rowoon's floor length sparkly duster???? there was so much happening. god i really wish they had promoted for more than a week. red velvet as always performs excellent and i wasn't expecting to see psycho in 2021 but i'll never say no to that. i also wasn't expecting sunmi to do a league cosplay stage but...happy belated halloween i guess??? her stylist absolutely fucking NAILED it though, and the you can't sit with us outfit too, wow. brave girls had a great stage also even their outfits were extremely unflattering, which is rare for them. i liked the skz stage as well, even though it was pre-filmed. tbz's christmas version of thrill ride was cute, i really liked nu'est's remix of inside out, and liked that kang daniel chose to do antidote (one of my sleeper faves from this year) even though i think paranoia was the more popular of the two songs. loved the inexplicable decision to launch mark and jeno in the air on springboards at the beginning of the universe stage, it brought some much needed levels to everything. couple of other costume standouts: i liked the detailing on txt's jackets and big fan of the weird 2000s techno feel of aespa's outfits. also the silhouette of minyoung's dress for that ost stage was really lovely even if it was constructed a bit weird when i saw it in close ups. i didn't particularly like the legends of kpop stage but there objectively wasn't anything wrong with it, it just wasn't all that interesting to watch, and the way to go cover was fine, but felt weirdly disconnected? i think it was my brain trying to reconcile the very very current styling with a song that is very deeply engrained to look extremely 2010. everything else was fine and/or not really my speed, but that's pretty normal as far as watching a big show with lots of groups goes.

Oh the things I do for Jin Norizuki

That was SUCH an experience. I had a lot of fun!!

Main takeaway is that I am now acutely aware of when to YO in a song

(Okay so this is my first time attending a prizoom (or even any kinpri screening outside of Luna’s sss rabbit sessions!) so this is all entirely new to me and I can’t really compare it to much, but I figured that it’d be good to write up a report of sorts to fill in for Luna in a way!)

The prizooms are also accessible to everyone and don’t require any Japanese info confirmation!! If you’re interested in attending please go and support kinpri!!!

(Note: I think about Jin wayyyy too much and interpret them as nonbinary, so I use they/them pronouns for Jin. It’s just automatic for me at this point and feels weird otherwise haha so I’ll be doing that in this)

Jin is my all time favorite character and love of my life who I’m extremely delusional about so when a prizoom was announced for their birthday I went INSANE because I didn’t expect Jin’s birthday to be acknowledged AT ALL given how they’re usually excluded/treated like a side character (+ kinpri’s been putting out little to no content lately anyways....haha....). I was waiting in anticipation ever since it was announced (around June 6th) and even put in a time-off request for my work the day of its announcement just so I could attend!!!! ........ You can imagine my frustration at kinpri waiting until the very last minute to put out details about Jin’s prizoom ^^;

Also!! I’m a complete ~ foreigner ~ and managed to get tickets perfectly fine with my American credit card (and putting in some very obviously Not-An-Actual-Resident-Of-Japan address info...)! I only attended the first and third showings (consisting of the first movie and Over the Sunshine!) because I wanted to see the new/not currently archived content (the second/pride the hero showing’s bonus was just Jin’s birthday video by Joji which I already revisit little too much ahaha). I also went to the chat-only rooms because I wasn’t very confident that I wouldn’t be awkward with my nonexistent cheering experience and intent to just observe what its like (despite knowing that the cheering rooms are more fun based on what Luna said haha). That, and I was planning on using the EXTREMELY OBNOXIOUS soundboard of ABSOLUTE CHAOS for everything since I have issues with voice dysphoria and figured it’d be good to stick to the room with that normalized as the one and only cheering method so participating would be a little less annoying to others, since we’d all have the same idea ^^;

I’m more active on twitter and follow/am mutuals with pretty much anybody who likes Jin enough to post about them, so it was cool seeing almost everyone there! At least half of them tweeted about this being their first prizoom haha. Jin’s birthday was also promoted as a good introduction to prizooms since the first showing was set at a price point of 718 yen instead of the usual 1,760 yen? So, lots of first timers attending! I guess most people had the same thought process as me about the whole insecure-about-not-being-used-to-proper-cheering/using-their-mic thing? Because most of my twitter following ended up in the chat-only rooms with me! Fun!

Also interesting how most people chose the male voice option for the cheering soundboard feature since there’s actually only 2 men who love Jin like that (I’m included in that number!!) in the Jin-obsessed twitter circle. I guess it was because it sounds kinda Joji-ish? and therefore fitting for an event dedicated to Jin! What with them being meant for each other and all.... Plus being Joji is just a fun way to play off having issues about using your own voice (I... project onto Joji a lot.)

Okay I actually typed up all of the above during the second showing (since I wasn’t occupied attending that one) and everyone had the same train of thought and was definitely being Joji. You know that one “song” in Over the Sunshine- Glorious Schwarz- consisting of Joji just going wild infodumping for 3.5 minutes? Yeah EVERYONE who selected the male voice option was spamming 「おれもー！」/ “ME TOO!!!” during that (including me!). So it was like:

The highlight of the prizoom (in my opinion) was when some guy repeatedly hit よっ！/ YO! to the music in the first movie, which then led to everyone having a collective ~ Realization ~

After that happened, everybody joined in and started YO!-ing along in the other lives. Beautiful.

(I only did those two to test screen recording after failing to archive the first Jin bonus while using the soundboard feature in the first showing, initially I didn’t intend to record anything but the bonuses and will not be doing that anymore. If you attend, don’t be like me or worse!!!! Please!! I’ll delete these if needed/after a few weeks. Also just wanted to mention that Koi no Royal Straight Flush is up there in Kinpri’s Most YO!-able songs)

I love this soundboard feature. Sounds like hell. Prizooms are truely a new form of art because of it. Amazing how cheering screenings have evolved over a pandemic. Music feels empty to me without the YO!s now. After this I ended up listening to the entire kinpri discography so I could determine the YO!ability of each song. Not sure if every prizoom is like that? But I really want to go to more showings just for the community experience! I’m morbidly curious as to how many people would try to YO! to Platonic Sword. I considered going to Rei’s because they’re showing Shiny Rose Stars, but I probably won’t though since money and sleep are things (They really should make tickets no more than 1,000 yen.... they’re zoom meetings with audio problems....THE AUDIO ISSUES ARE FUN THOUGH! YOU CAN SPAM “GANBATTE” WITH EVERYONE!!) Plus while I do like every kinpri character, none of the street boys are really my favorites and going to every showing regardless of character would be a lot. I assumed that I was only going to try attending Joji’s until they announced that they were gonna do something for Jin!! So if you want to see what it’s like PLEASE get tickets and experience it for yourself!! It’s so much more fun participating !!!! Relying on 1-2 people to post event summaries isn’t exactly consistent coverage of every prizoom either!

So much of this is a community experience that you just have to see for yourself! It’s really cool seeing people go all out for their favorites and just going wild. Notable participants include:

- Two separate people just working out the entire time (one of them doing “Prism Exercise” meaning very high effort full-body cheering and dancing? It was really impressive seeing them go all-out for such a long time!)

- Two (2!) Ai cosplayers!!! One attending the prizoom with a Jin cosplayer!!

- The lady who cosplayed Jin in their cute green pre-retirement prism star outfit WITH A HUGE JIN PUPPET IN THE SAME STYLE AS THE SHUFFLE PUPPETS IN THE STAGEPLAY!!!

- That one person who just had a Minato fish head on the entire time (?!)

- A Victoria cosplayer who showed off a really nice!! drawing of Jin they did during the participant showcase at the end of the screenings

- The person with a REALLY CUTE!!!!! homemade Jin plushie!!

- Two people who attended with 3D/vtuber style models of the Go Go Glorious! (YMT29 subunit) members: Noel Tokyo and Mikado Shibuya (who also had a model of Ai!)

- A really cute Joji vtuber model!

The bonuses were Jin’s birthday video from 2016 and a birthday message of sorts from Jin!

I actually didn’t manage to properly archive the first one as intended because things went horribly wrong so I ended up with nothing but just a terrible (said affectionately) little recording of the soundboard I linked earlier. But whatever I shouldn’t be doing that anyways. Hopefully kinpri includes that and the other prizoom bonuses in something later.... the thought of any content being stuck as lost media terrifies me. I don’t have a good enough memory or a high enough Japanese proficiency level to type it out but it wasn’t particularly analyzable or anything (telling that to myself to make me feel better about losing it). Just the usual Jin being dramatic and going on an evil monologue. Jin being evil ASMR. I lovingly burned another one of Jin’s evil laughs into my mind too so there’s that.

For the 3rd showing bonus however I did not fail though it’s arguably the less interesting bonus of the two since it’s unvoiced. I really love Jin’s voice. Big sexy. Actual dialogue is pretty similar to each other from what I’ve gathered (ending with one of Jin’s cute little アーーーッハッハッハッ！！！！！’s (the text effect for the unvoiced bonus was an appreciated detail!).

I’ve been waiting to complain about how 法月 is written as Noriduki instead of Norizuki for the longest time but I never had a chance until now haha. Makes it so painful for me to buy Jin merch. Also begged for an anime continuation. I wonder how much they take into account feedback? I guess I’ll see when/if they start writing Jin’s name how it’s supposed to be.

Prism shows really are best experienced with a community!!! Halloween Special: Costume Mishaps

Summary: It’s the end of the Halloween/Birthday Party, and Garnet finds himself surrounded by his sisters and friend dressed up in sexy costumes. What’s bound to happen next?

Life...was cruel. That was the thought of one Garnet Rose as he sat down the couch. A huge blush on his face.

It was late in the evening as the Birthday Bash/Halloween Costume Party had finished; coming to a satisfying end within the shared House of Garnet, his sisters Ruby and Yang; along with Weiss & Blake. The four girls and lone boy resting after hosting such an amazing festive night for their friends.

“That was actually pretty fun,” Blake said with a smile. Despite not being one for parties, she had actually enjoyed herself.

“See what I’d tell ya?” Yang smirked, as she laid back in her seat. Feeling proud at the successful party they had.

“I suppose you were right,” Weiss said with a small smile. “At the very least, I’m just glad we aren’t left with a huge mess to clean up.”

“That’s true after party clean ups SUCKS,” Ruby whined as she slumped down on the couch next to her brother. Smiling as she leaned on his shoulder. “What about you Garnet? What’d you think of this party?”

“H-Huh?” The teenage boy, who had been utterly silent until now. Finally registered what his twin sister had asked him. “I-It was fun,” He stuttered, “H-Happy that we all had a great time.”

Ruby blinked, raising a brow at her twin brother’s stutter. “Huh? Garnet is everything okay?” She asked, grabbing the attention of the rest of the RWBY Girls. “Your face is kinda red.” She said, noting the hot blush staining Garnet’s cheeks. But not for the reason the cute Rose believed it to be.

“I-I’m fine Rubes, really, I’m just probably a little lightheaded from the punch. You know how Nora tried to spike it earlier.” He lied; though technically, it wasn’t a lie. Nora really did attempt to spike the punch earlier, saying she had wanted to make the party a little more ‘Fun’. It was thanks to the efforts of Ren Pyrrha, and Jaune, that they managed to stop the girl from doing something stupid. And would undoubtedly get her shit knocked out by Yang.

Hey, Yang loved her alcohol, make no mistake; but she drew a hard line on any alcohol being consumed by her young twin siblings. Especially on their birthday.

Regardless, the semi-lie worked, and Garnet managed to get Ruby to buy it. Even more so as Weiss crinkled her nose at the moment.

“Ugh, I swear, Valkyrie is that girl to use any form of celebration or parties to go absolutely nuts at.” The lovely heiress said with a huffed. “Well, if you’re not feeling well, why don’t go rest?”

“Weiss is right Garnet,” Blake chimed in with a smile. “We’ll check up on you after we get done cleaning the house, it’s not like it’s a huge mess.”

Garnet nodded and stood up, quickly running to the room and leaving the rest of the girls behind. Yang frowning a bit with furrowed eyebrows.

“I hope he’s alright.” The busty blonde said.

Little did any of the ladies realize, their little evening was about to get started in the most unsuspected way.

“Finally!” Garnet let out a huge sigh of relief as he entered his and Ruby’s bedroom. Happy to have gotten away from his friends and sisters. “I’m not sure how much more I could’ve taken being in the same room as them.” He groaned as he trudged to his bed.

Now some of you might be wondering to yourself, just what exactly had Garnet in such a state earlier with the girls. The answer to that was rather simple.

“I’m not sure how long I could’ve hidden this from them,” Garnet muttered, staring at the massive tent pitched in his costume.

Garnet couldn’t handle just how hot friends and family were, this evening.

He should’ve seen it coming honestly, Halloween was Ruby and Yang’s favorite time of the year. Not only because of the sweets and parties; but also, it was because they could dress down however they wanted. And while Garnet didn’t mind at first, over the years as they all got older. Did he start to notice, and realize just how much his sisters had developed in terms of their figures. He was positive that Ruby and Yang knew about this as well, as they had started wearing costumes that would help show off what they had.

Not to the point where it could be considered slutty. But it WOULD turn the heads of those who managed to see them. When they met and became friends with Blake and Weiss and even manage to live together under the same house when they all started college. It just added more to crimsonette’s problems and pent up frustrations. Sun and Neptune often claimed that Garnet had a sweet life, living under the roof with four hotties. The painful constant erection that Garnet sported on a daily basis, was more than happy to disagree with that statement.

You try waking up seeing all of the roommates walking around in nothing but their panties. Not bothering with their clothes until they had something to get their day started.

But back to the main issue; this year’s Halloween was no different in have Ruby and Yang unconsciously frustrate poor Garnet. Along with the combined efforts of Weiss and Blake as well. As stated before, they had managed to make each of their costumes show off their figures.

Ruby had dressed up as Android 21 from Dragonball FighterZ; her reason for the costume was due to how much she and the Majin had a shared love for sweets. So that’s why she wanted to cosplay as her for the evening. The bellydancer-like outfit just served to remind Garnet of the curves, chest, and ass, he didn’t know that his sister had. While not completely on Yang’s level, it definitely caught the attention of some of the guys during the party. And with the way Ruby had been all over the place, hopped up on candy and cookies. It was nothing short of amazing, that small black tube top kept her, not so little puppies, contained.

Speaking of Yang, her choice of costume wasn’t any better. Deciding to go with the classic icon Dark Magician Girl; Garnet wasn’t the least bit surprised that she had decided to come to the party dressed up like that. But he was CONVINCED that Yang purposely got a costume that was one size too small for her. Cause unless she went through another growth spurt that he didn’t know about. There was no way that outfit should’ve had trouble containing her jugs and keeping that ass hidden. Seriously, with how tight it looked on her, one sneeze. One good sneeze was all it took for Yang, that’s all that would be said on the matter.

Garnet let out a sigh, smiling weakly. “But at least Ruby and Yang’s outfit was better than Blake and Weiss’.” He muttered.

In hindsight, they should’ve never made that bet with Yang, and let her have control over what the blonde should choose for their costume when she had won. He had never their faces so turn so red out of anger and embarrassment when Yang showed them what they would be wearing.

For Blake, Yang had gotten her to dress up as Raynare from Highschool DxD. Anyone who knew the character or had seen that series wouldn’t need any further explanation beyond that. Just that the borderline BDSM costume did a spectacular job in not only showing off Blake’s tits trapped behind that bundle of straps that was considered the top of the outfit. But also the amazingly dubbed ‘Bellabooty’, housed in that form-fitting black panty-like bottom.

To this hour, Garnet still wasn’t sure how Yang managed to convince Blake to wear that willingly. And to be honest, he didn’t want to know; he’d be lying if he said he didn’t enjoy seeing Blake walking around dressed that that. He knew the others did.

And then there was Weiss.

Truthfully, Weiss’ costume was arguably better than Blake’s. But considering it was still Yang who chose it for her, that wasn’t really saying much. Nor did that piece of knowledge offer much comfort. Regardless, Yang had Weiss dressed up as Ishtar, the Goddess from Fate Grand Order. Naturally, Weiss wasn’t happy when she had been shown her costume. And even made her discontent for it apparent; so Garnet and even Yang was surprised when she appeared at the party dressed up as the beautiful Goddess. Again, he wasn’t sure what managed to make Weiss change her mind on wearing it. But like with Blake, he wasn’t going to look the Gift Horse in its mouth.

As for him, and his choice of costume; he should’ve never considered a skin-hugging costume, like Starforce Megaman’s outfit. Especially if he knew what he would be exposed to this evening. With another sigh, he quickly snapped his head up and looked at the door, before back to his bulge. A look of contemplation on his face, as he gulped silently.

“M-Maybe I can rub one out quickly.” He muttered, feeling himself throbbing intensely again the fabric. He knew if he left this unchecked, Ruby and the others would see him like this. And he really didn’t want the awkwardness of explaining his hard-on to the others. But before he could even get started, he found himself interrupted.

“Garnet” Came Ruby’s voice from the other side, as the door opened. Revealing the still in costume younger twin. “I just came in to check on up you. How are you- Eh?!”

There was a long, LONG silence as both twins stared at one another, one in pure horror, and the other in pure shock. Neither one managing to say anything as Ruby’s eyes slowly cascaded down to the massive bulge housed in her brother’s costume. A blush forming on her cheeks from the sight of it, h-had Garnet always been this big? Realizing she was staring, she quickly ripped her eyes away and scratched her cheek with an awkward laugh.

“U-Um… I-I just… came here to- to check up on you. See if you were alright.” She said, trying to look anywhere that wasn’t her brother and his big long… *Ahem* you know. “I-I see that was disturbing you, so I think I’ll just…”

Ruby turned to leave but was stopped when she felt Garnet grab her by the shoulder. Making the girl jump a bit and look up at her older twin. Who had his eyes, completely shadowed by the bangs of his hair. Ruby shifted a bit as she had a confused look on her face. Unknowingly giving her brother a nice view of her bust.

“U-Um… something wrong Garnet?”

“Ruby’s certainly taking a long time isn’t she?” Blake commented.

By the time Ruby had left to go check on the sole male of the house. The rest of the ladies just finished up cleaning the house. And were looking to end the evening with a scary movie night, they had wondered if Garnet would be willing to join. And Ruby had all but eagerly volunteered to see if he would be okay with joining them.

It had been a good bit since she had run upstairs to check on her brother.

“It is odd for the dolt to be taking this long,” Weiss commented, folding her arms underneath her petite breasts. “What on earth could she be doing up-”

“Wait,” Yang interrupted with a hand “Do you hear that?”

“Huh?”

Upon hearing that question, both Weiss and Blake became silent. Their ears perking up to listen for something; in return, they were greeted to muffled sounds coming from upstairs. Sounding oddly like Ruby and Garnet’s voices. But they couldn’t figure out what was going on.

“Is… Is that Ruby and Garnet?” Blake said with perplexed narrowed eyes. “What are they doing?”

Looking at each other, the girls left for upstairs. Wondering what was going on, or what the twins were doing. As they got closer, the noises and voices started becoming more profound. Gripping the handle, Yang opened the door, and what they were greeted too. Shocked every last one of them.

“WHAT THE-?!”

Weiss, Blake, and even Yang were rendered speechless as the sight before them. There was Garnet, on his bed; and underneath him, taking his massive dick was Ruby. It’s why (yet again) Moonbok hasn’t told anyone except Yena and Yoona that he was scouted. After all, if he doesn’t tell his family and he succeeds, it’ll be a (hopefully) pleasant surprise for them. If he fails, well, at least only he and the girls will know and he’ll have spared his family the humiliation at being rejected for a fourth time in 12 months.

Rubbing the bridge of his nose, he scans his lyrics yet again. After getting Yena’s approval, he’d decided to go with a song he’d been writing for his audition instead of simply covering another artist. He’d intended on saving it as a collab piece for him and some other members of odd society, but after looking back over it, Moonbok had realized that the song was a good way to show off a side of him that he’d never really displayed musically. And given that he was performing for Baek Jiyoung herself, Moonbok knows he has to leave an impression this time. He didn’t want her to still think he was ‘coasting’ in his journey to become an idol.

Truth be told, that was still one of the most painful things anyone had ever said to him. Had it been from anybody else, even one of the other Big Five CEOs, perhaps he would have gotten over it in time. Not that he’s nervous for just himself, that is. He can’t help but wonder how Yoona’s audition will turn out. Will his cousin get a contract? He hopes so. Moonbok is still in shock that both of them were scouted (albeit by different companies) at the same time. Another intervention of Fate?

Before he has much time to think about it, the door opposite him swings open and a staff member steps out. Moonbok almost has a minor heart attack, his hands clutching hard at the seat beneath him as the words he’d both been waiting for and fearing rang out in the corridor.

“Jang Moonbok? We’re ready for you now.”

Hurriedly clambering to his feet, Moonbok brushes himself down, straightening his shirt and sliding the sheet of lyrics back into his sling bag, having no need for them now. With a nod towards the staff member manning the music, Moonbok takes a deep breath in as the music begins before beginning to sing.

Tsumugi is guild leader.

Kaito is guild leader.

But they have definitely been in-and-out of a few guilds/combinations! This is what they’re settled with at this current point in time, and are not limited to just playing with their guildmates! For example, Miu never sleeps so she will play with anyone that’s online, and on the flipside, Himiko sometimes takes a nap even when she promised to play, so someone will fill in for her!

Also, there’s more than four people in their guilds (winks at other games), but drawing them all will take me out for a week so maybe I’ll expand another time. The top guild is headed by Hajime (SDR2), I’ll tell you that much!

Kirumi - Lotus: the short story “The Spider’s Thread” (蜘蛛の糸 Kumo no Ito) features a lotus-filled pond.

Tsumugi - EVA: she likes EVA foam (for cosplay), and also Evangelion.

Gonta - Golem: partially Tsumugi’s idea, partially because he once mistook an enemy golem for himself and then his character died. His friends just started calling him “Golem” because they thought it was hilarious.

Ryoma - Suteneko: literally means stray cat. He does have a whole bunch of cats irl and in-game because who are we to deny him that? (Ryoma on voice chat: just a bunch of mewing in the distance)

Korekiyo - Suzume: means sparrow, named after the Japanese folktale Shita-kiri Suzume (舌切り雀 shita-kiri suzume), translated literally into “Tongue-Cut Sparrow”.

Kokichi - Keikaku: all according to keikaku (keikaku means plan).

Miu - Tensai: literally means genius/natural prodigy. She’s almost always doing something else while she plays, because she’s a multi-tasking extraordinaire.

Angie - Atlas: named in accordance with “The World” tarot card. As a bonus, she sometimes pronounces it Atuas.

Himiko - Tigera: she thought it sounded cool. Also she has a tiger mount. I don’t know the entire logistics of this game, but that’s a thing now?

Tenko - Sencha: Sencha (煎茶) is a type of Japanese ryokucha (緑茶, green tea). She took the Cha (茶, tea) from Chabashira, and picked her favorite tea. She is also always drinking tea when she plays, and has spilled it on her keyboard multiple times. She is not accepting drink suggestions, but Miu always tries for coffee and Kokichi always tries for soda.

Rantaro - North: it was a Santa Claus joke originally, because he kept gifting people stuff for no reason other than his insane luck at getting rare drops, but also Rantaro consistently got lost on the map, despite being very certain he was going the right way.

Kiibo - Volt: partially because they thought it was cool, partially because they’re a major science nerd and felt like it fit.

Kaito - Kamina: “Go beyond the impossible and kick reason to the curb!” - Kamina from Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann, and also Kaito’s all-time hero. His character’s tagline was “Kamina said it, so it must be true!”

Shuichi - Lune: derived from Debussy’s Clair de Lune, he was renamed by Kaede after he started a new character. Also partially influenced by a conversation he had with Kaito and Maki that somehow ended up with them deciding he was the moon?

Kaede - Maple: the english meaning of Kaede (楓, maple). She also just thought it was cute! She had seasonal outfits in-game inspired by maple leaves, so she’d taken it as a motif, of sorts!

Maki - Haru: the Haru (春, spring) from Harukawa. She chose it on a whim, and it stuck, though she regretted it because she detested being called “Haru-chan” online. Still, she often got complimented for having a cute character and a cute name, and it secretly made her happy.

Ben Solo awkwardly tugged his charcoal spandex bodysuit into place, eyeing the garish black and orange decorations littering every inch of Finn’s lawn as he approached the two-story Dutch Colonial home. His wife’s best friend had a flair for interior design, when he wasn’t working his beat for the local police department, so Ben had to wonder why he’d allowed this tacky explosion of Halloween cheer to invade his perfectly manicured front yard.

“Finn and Rose really like Halloween,” Rey informed him cheekily, reading his incredulous expression.

“You don’t say,” Ben smirked. “Do you think I should—”

“Keep your opinions to yourself?” She returned sweetly. “Yes, my love, I certainly do.”

“Hey, I will if they do,” Ben chuckled, stopping to shift the harness securing his infant son to the front of his broad chest. Gray cooed up at him, his tiny face breaking into a toothless smile as Ben bent to kiss the top of his head. “I’ve got you, little crime stopper, yes I do,” he murmured playfully.

“I’ll never tire of that,” Rey sighed, walking backward up the stairs leading to the spacious front porch.

“Never tire of what, sweetheart?” Ben asked, making up the distance between them in a few long strides.

“My boys being cute together,” she said with teasing wink.

Ben slid his arm around her waist, pulling her against his side. “Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson might be cute, but Batman and Robin are all business. You should know that, Miss Kyle.”

“Is that so?” Rey giggled, leaning into him. “And that’s Catwoman to you!”

Gazing down at her provocative outfit, Ben couldn’t wait to peel the whole ensemble off her slender body when the night was over. With her height and athletic build, Rey was a knockout in anything she wore, so it was no surprise that the slate catsuit fit her like a glove.

Still, as much as Ben loved Rey’s sexy costume, he couldn’t help feeling self-conscious about his own state of dress. If someone had told him a few years ago that he, a respectable officer of the law, would be wearing a full-on superhero costume to a Halloween party hosted by people who barely tolerated him, he would have called them crazy.

That was the risk of falling in love, though, he supposed. He’d do anything to make his beautiful wife happy, up to and including traipsing around the neighborhood as a caped crusader.

“Rey, are you sure I don’t look stupid?” Ben asked before she could ring the doorbell. “Finn and Poe—”

“Are also dressing up,” Rey cut in.

“Maybe, but you know how they are,” he said skeptically. “We’ve been married for nearly three years, but it seems like they’re still waiting for you to come to your senses and dump me.”

“Then they’ll be waiting forever because you’re the only man for me, Ben Solo.”

“I’m know I’m being stupid, it’s just…” Ben trailed off, cringing as he finished the sentence internally, “…that I want them to like me.”

Rey looked up at him sympathetically for a moment before a devious smile curved her distractingly red lips. “How about this: when we get home, I’ll let you tie me up and show me the error of my cat-burgling ways,” she whispered suggestively. “This costume comes with a whip, you know.”

Ben flushed at her blatant proposition, opening his mouth to respond in the absolute affirmative when the front door suddenly flew open, startling him.

“Happy Halloween!” Rey’s friends greeted them, all decked out in vibrant shades of green and blue and red.

“Hi, guys!” Rye said happily, tugging Ben inside before he could say another word.

As Rey rushed forward to pass out hugs, Ben scanned the room, shocked to find Finn, Rose, and Poe all wearing superhero costumes as well. In fact, taking in Finn’s orange and green suit and blonde wig, the huge symbol for the House of El emblazoned across Poe’s chest, and Rose’s red, blue, and gold corset and skirt combo, he realized that this party was a veritable Justice League convention!

“We weren’t sure you three were ever going to get here.” Finn laughed good-naturedly, slapping him on the back.

“But thank god you are!” Poe said in a stage whisper. “My buddy here has been dying to show you our costumes for weeks! Honestly, I’m shocked that he was able to keep a lid on it!”

“Hey! I can keep a secret!” Finn said in mock offense. “I swear; you confess all your sins during a drunken tirade one time…”

Everyone laughed, and even Ben couldn’t help himself from chuckling.

“So, um, you dressed like this on purpose?” Ben asked gracelessly, stumbling over his words when he realized how they sounded. “I just mean, uh, I didn’t realize the theme of this party was DC.”

“Oh, it’s not.” Rose said kindly. “We just wanted our group of close friends to match.”

“Our…what?” Ben said, bewildered at being included in the “close friends” category.

“Listen, Rey is like a little sister to me, so I’ve been overprotective, but things are different now.” Finn said seriously. “When I first met you, I thought you were dangerous. You’re a former undercover officer, so your reputation in the force was…questionable, to say the least.”

“My reputation—!”

“But, we know better now.” Poe interjected, heading off Ben’s indignant reply. “You’re a great detective, not to mention an outstanding husband and father, so we want you to feel welcome in our eclectic crew of rebels from now on.”

“What do you say, Ben?” Finn said heartily, offering his hand. “Friends?”

Ben stared at the group, flabbergasted by the unexpected turn of events. He’d come here tonight expecting to be given the cold shoulder at the very best, and now these people wanted to be his friend? Locking eyes with his intrepid wife, Ben could see the hopeful anticipation swirling in her hazel depths as he waffled about what to do.

She’d never force him to accept Finn’s olive branch, but he knew it would mean the world to her if he did. Finn and Rose and Poe would always be a part of their lives, so he owed it to Rey, and to their son, to make an effort.

“It’s not all about you,” Ben thought, his mother’s words ringing in his head. She’d been yelling at his father at the time, but the comment had stuck with him nonetheless.

“What the hell,” Ben smiled, clasping Finn’s outstretched hand. “Friends.”

Gray chose that moment to pipe up, letting out a joyous laugh as Poe and Rose crowded around Ben as well.

“I think Gray approves!” Rey grinned, the unadulterated love in her eyes searing him.

“He better! I’m ruining my tough-guy reputation by being friends with these two,” Ben motioned toward Finn and Poe with a teasing glint.

“Being nice and well-mannered is not a character flaw,” Poe said drolly.

“I agree, considering you’re none of those things.” Finn chuckled. “Everyone knows that I’m the nice one!”

Rose caught Ben’s attention as Finn and Poe began bickering back and forth, play fighting with the kind of rapport that only longtime partners could achieve.

“I always liked you.” Rose confessed with a wink. “Anyone who can turn my no-nonsense bestie into a puddle of goo is a winner in my book.”

“Rose!” Rey blushed.

“What?” Rose replied innocently, backing up toward the kitchen. “Hey, Frick and Frack? The party is going to start in less than an hour. Get your asses in here and help me set up!”

“A puddle of goo, huh?” Ben teased once they were alone in the entryway.

Slipping under the shelter of his arm, Rey petted their son’s head while she rested hers on his broad shoulder. “I have no idea what she’s talking about. I’m a strong independent woman and I don’t need no man!”

“No?”

“Well, okay, I need one man,” Rey admitted softly, gazing up at him. “I love you, Ben.”

“I love you too, sweetheart,” Ben responded, his heart full. “Now, let’s get this party started!”

Sesshomaru cosplay

Hello guys! i’ll be making a series of blog posts of my Sesshomaru cosplay progress containing both the planning and the making process. I always wanted to do that so I hope it will help you guys out!

Planning process:

on this part we will be focusing on three main things:

planning your cosplay

buying materials

research

Each of these parts come before you actually start working on your cosplay, how do you choose the right wig? the right fabric color? with what materials are you going to make the props?

Finding refrences is fairly easy thanks to google pictures yet sometimes there are parts that gets hidden behind layers or weird shots, so I sugget before starting a new cosplay to find as much refrences as you can, game models, offical art, concept art and etc, but I had many times when the character didn’t have much refrences or there simply wasn’t enough, in such situations I often try to go over the scenes the character appears in and take as much screenshots as I can, sometimes you can find your character had a drawing on their back and you’d notice it only after looking over an action scene! also anime openings often show a very ditailed drawing of you charcter, which really helped me with understanding Sesshomaru’s sword handles!

With every cosplay first comes the planning process, consisting of collecting refrences, counting your budget, sketches and material research. The easiest method for me for planning my cosplay is to break everything down to pieces, many costumes and armor pieces contain several layers and breaking them down really helps. For example before I even make a shopping list I like to sketch down several cosplay pieces for them all to make sense in the project later, I don’t like being confused over certain parts and I try to make it as simple as possible. When you’re drawing your cosplay small details are a lot harder to miss and it is your opputunity to think through how a 2D element might work out in real life. Since Sesshomaru wears several layers consisting of a breast plate, a kimono and an an undershirt, sketching each part individualy really helped me see the whole picture plan through how it might all look like when i’m actually making the costume.

But if sketching the cosplay is not your cup of tea yet you still want to keep your cosplan organized, I suggest you make a to-do list! write down all the cosplay parts you have to make and possible materials you have to buy!

Even though I like to make countless lists of possible sketches and materials sometimes when you’re out there buying fabrics you realise you forgot what you wanted to get, so a very useful app for that is an app called “Cosplanner” (which most of you have probably heard of) but it’s really nice to keep watch on your tasks, so I typed down the things I had to buy\ make for Sesshomaru. keeping a “to buy” list really prevents a huge mess and you could easily keep track of what you’re missing to progress on your cosplay, also because this app uses percents you can always see how much you’ve progressed on your cosplay!

Here you can see my “to buy” list which really helped me arrange my tasks and goals.

After I arranged my buying lists, I started buying materials little by little, starting with buying a fabric for my kimono, I wanted to use a more natural fabric since the show itself is taking place in Japan’s Sengoku period where I assumed they mostly used natural fabrics, in addition to that I knew that Israel is a hot country and wearing a three layer costume will be super difficult I had to use a breathing fabric. so I bought five meters of white cotton together with iDye Poly fabric paint and a “so soft” acrylic paint with a matching color (I chose the shade crimson). I also tried not to buy everything at one go in order so save money and look up different options.(do check that the fabric paint you choose will suit the type of fabric that you’re buying my paint suits natural fabrics, it’s usually written on the package.) it is also important for me to pick a color that won’t bleed when i’m painting on facric therefore a so soft acrylic is perfect for me since you can apply it without using too much water plus the color is meant for fabric making it elastic and preventing possible cracks the a regular acrylic paint might cause. I intend to paint the patterns on Sesshomaru’s kimono by hand and I want it to be as clean as possible, especially when drawn on white fabric.

I know some people measure themselves out before buying their fabrics but I’m just picking it by eye,concidering that i had to make both the top (which has long sleeves) and the pants i assumed 5 meters will be enough. I had also bought 3 EVA foam blocks for my swords, i’m planning on cutting them up in half in order to carve the swords out, we will see how this turns out. I also plan on buying EVA foam for the armor pieces,even though I own worbla I thought EVA foam would be more suitable for Sesshomaru’s breast plate, while worbla is an amazing material, i thought a thick EVA foam would look more aesthetically pleasing and cheaper for me to afford, i intented to carve out the “spikes” on his outfit out of foam anyway so i’d rather be consistant with my materials.

Making a cosplay always involves a lot of planning and thought,and sometimes the thing you planned to do in the beggining doesn’t work in the end and that’s okay! I like thinking every step through before I start working even when I buy my materials just to keep me calm and make sure I don’t forget anything.

An important part of every cosplay is research, I always look up other talented cosplayers to see how they did their work since most of the time we’re cosplaying a 2D characters and fabircs\ materials sometimes get very confusing, but looking up people who already done this costume might actually help you learn new tactics and gather up brilliant ideas, one of the ways to do it is to look up some Youtube tutorials! with most of them made by cosplayers it creates a great platform to learn and try new things, for examle I never made a piece of armor in my lfe, so I had to look up a couple of tutorials that will tutor me how to use EVA foam and how to make swords ( honestly how the heck do you do this)

After I had something to start with, my only worry was ordering a suitable wig for the character, I always try to do this ahead of time in order for the wig to arrive eary before the con (because when you wig arrives late it sucks) usualy I order my wigs from eBay since I don’t want something too expensive nor too fancy, but this time around Sesshomaru has very long and thick hair, so I wanted a wig i knew had a lot of fibers and was long enough for my liking. Therefore I decided to order my wig from Arda wigs, with the help of my friends I went over countless wigs trying to understand what length or color I should go for, and in the end settled down on a 152 cm silver wig! I didn’t take a completely white wig since I thought a silver one would look better in real life, I also chose a silky wig because of it’s soft fibers, even though my wig won’t be completely tangle free, it made me feel a tad safer. The wig I chose is a DELILAH SILKY( one of Arda’s classic long wigs) and it arrived super quickly! I really love it and i’m happy with my choice :3

*When you choose a wig for your cosplay, always concider how you need to style it, if you need to straighten a wig always make sure it’s heat resistant!

Now that I planned everything through and have enough materials to start, I shall begin working on my cosplay!

The debuts for the winter season keep coming, but we’re almost at the end of them with this post.

Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card 1

Note I don’t have any prior experience with Cardcaptor Sakura aside from 1 volume of manga and watching the show in passing while other people were watching it, plus knowing about a few spoilers and the show’s reputation as a seminal magical show show…then in more recent days, I finished 2 episodes of it (in fact as of the day I’m typing this, I finished episide 2 today!).

This OP makes Sakura look like later-stage Sailor Moon, and I think that’s the point.

Where did the bear in Syaoran’s hand go when Sakura hugged him?

Eriol! I don’t really know much about him, and I knew I should’ve known about him before starting this, but…it was a bit of a shock to see a character I technically haven’t seen the debut of with my own eyes.

I get the feeling these are the “two bears” from the prologue OVA…

Emails! In the world of Cardcaptor Sakura! Wow, I feel old…and I didn’t even grow up with her.

Hot dang! Gimme dat bishie (Yue)! I knew he was coming, but…I still don’t really know how he came to be!

Wow, this Yamazaki kid spouts such rubbish! I’m looking forward to seeing him in the main series now.

It’s pretty obvious I need to watch the original before understanding this fully, so I’m putting it on hold.

Gakuen Babysitters 1

I’m here for my Ume and Nishiyama. I’m not particularly good at dealing with kids, especially younger kids, but this doesn’t make me run for the hills either.

Ryuichi involves the kanji for “dragon” and Kotaro has the kanji for “tiger”.

That man with the hat is so not sketchy…

I’ve never heard of NAS before (but I have heard of NAZ through Idolish7).

That joke Saikawa told actually worked! These shows may all be middling this winter, but I’d be happy with even some of them on my docket. I’ve been pleasantly surprised more often than not that I haven’t found “stinker of the season” yet.

The comedy for this show’s really on point, although the overall design is a tad lackluster.

K-Kamitani?! Apparently Ume-chan’s character is Hayato Kamitani, so that’s how Ume got involved, so to speak. This sudden intro of 4 kids works on a story scale, but not in a way any person can process without pausing the video (or getting individual intros later).

Well, there are those individual intros I was asking for. Spoke too soon.

It’s actually kinda sad and quite telling how independent Kotaro is. (I still find it extremely hilarous Nishiyama – whose first name is Kotaro - didn’t voice Kotaro, although from a practical standpoint I understand why.)

Usaida has such bedroom eyes, it’s hard to ignore (because they make him look like En)! Dangit, I want my En back!

This brings back memories. My mum used to deal with kids all the time, and of course I was in the background for some of the shenanigans.

Dragon puppet symbolism, eh? (see the dotpoint a bit back about Ryuichi’s name)

As soon as this guy (who kinda looks like something out of Haikyuu) started demanding Taka come with him, I screamed. That character doesn’t seem very Ume, but…uh, it’s Ume. Gotta deal with it. Now that I listen to their voices properly though, Ume does have a “big bro” voice and Nishiyama a “earnest young man” voice.

Oh dear. Taka’s imprinted on me already, and I don’t even like boys that age.

I haven’t felt a genuine sense of danger from any of these winter shows until this one, so it seems like it’s one of the strongest debuts. Then again, CCS was my frontrunner before this and YuruCamp the second best, so I guess I can’t talk, eh?

Gah, I feel like I wanna cry now. That is a strong premiere!

I have a real problem with how anime tears come out in globs. Then again, I’m too much of a crybaby, as my notes can attest…so I guess no arguing here.

Should it be “Chairman” or “Chairwoman”???

Oh, I didn’t realise earlier but Taka = “hawk” and Hayato = “falcon man”. Animal jingoism at its finest!

I didn’t notice Nagi getting all huggy there with everyone in range (the first time, at least).

In case you don’t know from all the other idol shows, the centre is the one in centre stage. They’re often seen as the leader, so it’s a very important position.

Zoku Touken Ranbu Hanamaru 1

Can we please just call this “Hanamaru 2” like Crunchyroll? “Zoku” just refers to a continuation…anyways, I got Hanamaru season 1 done last year while dealing with Katsugeki, so…here I come, sword boys!

Didn’t Hanamaru get a dub, by the way? Why would you dub this? For me to criticise it? The Touken Ranbu fanbase is kinda small…

W-Wait, did they just write Yams out of this season? Yams is the protag (if not a protag) here! What did Ichiki do now to deserve this???

It was getting too hard to jump through the proxies to play Touken Ranbu as of late, so I deleted my DMM account. Even still, the sword boys have multiplied since I left! Yikes!

Wow, unexpected 1st person bit there, Kashuu/Masuda. I thought I told the industry to stop doing that…

I don’t think I noticed, but Kashuu uses a brush (and not a specialty brush provided in the lid of nail polish). Probably because in Touken Ranbu, plastic isn’t much of a concept…

I still appreciate how Kashuu was this Saniwa’s starter. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy for my own TR days…

The style of this ED doesn’t look like Hanamaru at all. It was probably done by the original illustrator for the swords.

It’s a great return to form for Hanamaru! I’m sold!

Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san 1

Another day, another long title…plus this show I would’ve passed on, if not for that resolution…

Michiko Yokote is on a lot of shows I watch. I don’t really know what her influence is, but it seems she’s genuinely competent at what she does.

So…uh, Gendo pose anyone?

I think the teacher is the best part of this. I’ve been a bit of Tonari no Seki-kun, and the pull of that is the sheer ludicrousness of what Seki does with his stuff. However, there didn’t seem to be any intervention aside from Yokoi (I think that was her name)…

Nishikata’s reactions are just way too easy to read…

Well, that was okay, but it’s definitely a show to binge all at once. On to the “on hold” pile it goes.

Wait, but they missed a segment (the 100 yen segment). Gotta skip forward…

I didn’t get any laughs out of that show at all, but it’s still a decent school SoL.

How to Keep a Mummy 1

I have absolutely no experience with this manga, mind you…aside from seeing this tiny mummy on Comico…

Wow, if the mummy can fit in his shoe…how big is it?

The translation of “ready” is surprisingly ganbaru, and there’s a “but” mentioned in the Japanese title missing from the English. Also, “ready” has sexual connotations I’d rather not pair with a tiny mummy…I’d say the translation of the episode title should be something more along the lines of “White, Round, Small, Very Wimpy But [Also] Tries Its Hardest” (“It” being the mummy and not Pennywise…).

Is Dracula even public domain right now? (Does anyone care about the intellectual property of a classic vampire novel anyway? Because I sure don’t.)

Can we please start making jokes about how Sora’s daddy got him a mummy? It may seem childish, but I’m tempted to now.

This mummy is so adorable, I think it even beat out the kids from Gakuen Babysitters! Geesh, I’m spoilt this season! It completely set off my moe senses, and I don’t even have any!

One of the best things about anime is that you can learn about other cultures through the things included offhandedly…like that molokhiya thing that Sora mentioned. Apparently it’s a Jewish vegetable of some sort.

Do mummies get jet lag too? I was just thinking how Comico stories, with their full colour and yet simple design (to allow for downward scrolling and intake by the eyes) are perfect for anime.

I listened to the show with volume for once…because Tazuki seems to be the guy voiced by Keisuke Koumoto…and I think I was on the money there. Plus, Sora’s VA really sells the delivery of jokes (although he seems to be voiced by a woman…?)!

Yamanba…like Yamanbagiri’s namesake. The mountain hag, right?

Yep, I was right on the money with Tazuki being Koumoto. Kamitani Tazuki, it seems his name is…

Death March 1

(looks at title just above this dotpoint) C’mon. There’s no way I’m going to repeat “Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody” over and over again for at least 11 or 12 episodes…by the way, I’m here because I was reading a KonoSuba novel and saw an ad for this, just in time for the anime…

I love how they almost replicated Windows 8 in this show. Or is it 7, or 10? They don’t show the taskbar, which is the main visual difference between 8 and 10, but either way the Windows replication without being sued is really something…

Random Update Time! October/November 2017

Random update time! Over the last two months I’ve saved up quite a few cool things to show you!

The weekend after I got back to Japan from my trip to America, it was the Chosa Festival! Usually it’s always really warm and sunny for the festival, but this year it was pouring rain. I thought they would have probably cancelled the festival, but Mabs and I went to check just in case, and it’s a good thing we did!

I love the excitement of the Chosa Festival when it’s a nice sunny weekend like it had been for the last couple of years, but I also really enjoyed the mysterious sort of atmosphere that the rain gave the festival.

The chosas lit up their plastic coverings and looked like lanterns, and almost everyone was carrying a clear umbrella.

Some new Black Thunder candy bars!

This one is “Mochi Mochi Kinako Black Thunder”, it’s kinako-flavored and has mochi-flavored gummy candies inside. It was good, and the gummies were a clever way of simulating mochi.

And this is Black Thunder Volt, which is bigger and more candy-bar-shaped than the usual Black Thunders, and it has a ton of almonds inside.

Oh! I don’t know if I ever ended up telling you all, but I chose a web design school! I decided to go with with the first one I visited, and I’m excited to move to Osaka and start school next April! The school gives special discounts to foreign students who can speak a high level of Japanese or a high level of English. After taking the N2 level of Japanese Language Proficiency Test last year, I had a high enough level to get the second highest tier of discounts, but if I wanted to get the highest tier of discounts, I would need to take either the N1 JLTP or get a high score on the TOEIC English test. The N1 is a big jump in difficulty from the N2, so I decided to take the TOEIC instead! LOL

I used to use this book to teach my students who were preparing to take the TOEIC, but I thought I should look it over one more time before the test.

I had to go to Okayama to take the test, and I ended up getting to the station pretty early, so I had just enough time to make a quick run to the Aeon shopping mall and go to the store that sells all of the cute Jinbesan whale shark stuff! I LOVE Jinbesan!! I want literally everything they sell there. Anyway, I got myself some cute (surprisingly cheap) stuff: a cup, a small case which I’ve been using to store chargers and cords (I haven’t lost my tablet pen once since I got it!), a stationery set, and TWO JINBESAN MECHANICAL PENCILS! I’d been looking for Jinbesan mechanical pencils (I didn’t even know if that was a thing that existed, but I was checking all of the stationery stores just in case) so I was so happy to find these!!

Look how cute the inside of the cup is! Since I’ll be moving to Osaka in the nearish future and will have to have my own dishes and stuff, I thought I would buy this to use as a water cup.

I love all of this stuff so much! It’s so cute and I smile whenever I look at it. (〃艸〃)♡ It also reminds me of how much fun I had seeing a whale shark for the first time at the aquarium in Osaka last year! Whale sharks are the coolest!

As for the actual TOEIC, the listening section was very fast-paced; if you spaced out for a second you could miss several questions. The reading section was fine, some of the questions were trickily worded, but not difficult if you paid attention. I definitely have a lot of respect for any non-native English speakers who can get a high TOEIC score though! I don’t think I would do very well on a Japanese test of the same level.

And last week I got my test scores back! I got a perfect score of 990 points! I can English! ヾ(๑╹ヮ╹๑)ﾉ"

(But seriously, I feel like my ability to speak/write in English is getting worse the longer I live here.)

As always on October 23rd, I played Final Fantasy X and had some Mountain Dew and Mentos in memory of my friend Derek. For some reason, supermarkets and konbini in Japan don’t sell Mountain Dew, but you can find it in certain vending machines sometimes. I had to go on an adventure and just check random vending machines until I found one that had some.

October 23rd always reminds me not only of Derek, but also of how grateful I am for all of my friends. So to all of you reading this, I just want to say, thanks! ♡

Mabs and I went out for dinner at our favorite kaitenzushi (conveyor belt sushi) restaurant back in October, and for dessert I decided to have this tart. When I ordered it I thought it was “ichigo”, strawberry, but it turned out to be raspberry, which I was even happier with, although sort of confused about. On closer inspection the menu said it was “ki ichigo”, literally “tree strawberry”, which apparently means “raspberry”. Raspberries don’t even grow on trees! Why are they called “tree strawberries” in Japanese?!?!

I love goldfish (really looking forward to the day when I’m settled in one place for long enough to have pet fish again), so I was so excited about this goldfish gachapon (capsule toy), but after a few minutes the plastic fish always floats to the surface of the slime and looks dead! Not cute.

Someone online pointed out that the Ookurikara nendoroid (second from the left) can balance on his head, so I tried it, and he actually stands up better that way than he does on his feet when he’s attached to his stand, LOL! I thought this was hilarious, so I had to try it with the rest of the Touken Ranbu nendoroid family, and it turns out that everyone but Manba can do it. Poor Manba...

At the beginning of November we celebrated Mabs’ birthday! ✧*｡ヾ(๑╹ヮ╹๑)ﾉ"✧*｡

We had a chill celebration and spent all day at home playing video games. Mabs wore her Pikachu kigurumi! For dinner we had delicious twice-baked potatoes, carrots, and green beans (which are usually strangely hard to find and/or expensive here).

And for dessert we made a pumpkin pie!

Also if you’re wondering what that strange creature on the right side of the photo is, it’s a potato goat. (A red potato goat, specifically.) Mabs and I came up with weird food+animal creatures for each other, and hers is a potato goat. I put my Photoshop skills to use and made some potato goats as birthday decorations, LOL.

November 11th was Pocky and Pretz Day! (because “11/11″ looks like sticks of Pocky) Don’t worry, we didn’t eat all of those by ourselves (only the 5 small boxes in the front, lol) The winter cocoa Pocky (middle of the back row of small boxes) and the sweet potato Pretz (on the right) were the best!

Fall/winter is the season for baked sweet potato things (or “yaki-imo”), so these were yaki-imo dango! Yum!

Mabs and I celebrated Thanksgiving with traditional American food this year! (Although we had to use chicken instead of turkey, because turkeys are an endangered species here and people don’t eat them)

It was a delicious dinner!

And Mabs has totally perfected the process of making gluten-free, egg-free, dairy-free pumpkin pie! It was really good, especially with all of that soy milk whipped cream on top!

After dinner we watched the movie “Appleseed”, which is a computer animated sci-fi movie that came out back in 2004. It had a cool style that reminded me of an old video game (actually very good animation for 2004) and was overall an enjoyable watch with some interesting plot twists. Last weekend Mabs and I were reminiscing about some of our old Sengoku Basara cosplay adventures in college, and we finally did something that we’ve always been talking about; we swapped characters! This photo makes me do a double take every time I look at it; we’re so used to it being the other way around!

I had a lot of fun trying to cosplay Yukimura! Doing his makeup went a lot better than I thought it would, and Mabs’ wig actually fit me just fine. And Mabs made such a cool Sasuke!

It would be really fun to try to swap their full outfits with all of the armor and stuff sometime!

And here’s one more new type of Black Thunder! “Black Thunder: Pretty Style”???!?!? Bascially they’re fun sized, or “cute sized” as it says on the package, LOL.

And yesterday the weather was really nice, so I got out of the house for a walk, and I took my camera along with me to take some photos of the fall leaves!

Our area of Shikoku isn’t nearly as colorful as some other parts of Japan are in fall, but I still think it’s pretty.

Taking my camera along when I go for a walk is fun, because it makes me look harder to find things that I think are pretty and worth taking a picture of. It’s nice to slow down and look at things more closely; there’s a lot of cool things out there if you take the time to look for them.

I liked taking photos of the trees on the hills; maybe I took too many photos like this, but everywhere you look the colors and textures are a little different!

Model’s: Thank you for the awesome job y’all did this cycle! It’s not easy to put yourself out there and be judged, even for fun, and all of you did an amazing job this cycle! No matter who wins (cuz I don’t even know at this point lol – math time!) I hope you are all proud of the job you did, because I am! Congrats to all of my Cycle 7 models for being wonderful!

Judges: Just as it’s not easy to put yourself out there to be judged, it’s not easy to be the one doing the judging. I’ve been a model and a judge, so I know both are hard in different ways. To have to be fair, and analyze each image, sometimes having to nitpick because all of them are just so good! Y’all have a hard job and I thank you for doing it and making it look so easy! Thank you, Cycle 7 judges, you’re amazing!

Community: Thank you to all of you as well, if we didn’t have you spreading the word and voting, ENTM wouldn’t even exist! I am the 3rd person to take up this mantel and run ENTM, and I’m still amazing by the kindness and support that we get cycle after cycle. Thank you all of you!

Kusuh Valentione: This is a pretty spot on take of Takaya. The color filter and screen effect work nicely together and the pose and angle do work in your favor. The background looks wonderful in this picture and actually sets the mood for your whole entire set. All in all this looks like in belongs in the world of Persona. I've really enjoyed looking at your photos this cycle and have seen how much you have grown and you took the judge critiques and used them to your advantage.

Doki Kodoki: I remember being a teen when the first .hack// game came out and I loved every minute of it. Sadly that's my only really knowledge of the franchise but I've always been drawn to the art style and overall feel of the series. Without even glancing at who you were cosplaying, your picture instantly reminded me of .hack and I was happy you brought two "MMO" worlds together. I wouldn't have thought of this outfit and it works so well! The background and the staff give me a stronger vibe more than anything else.

Rivienne Cotrlaint: I have to admit I haven't ever heard of this character nor the anime. But you worked it out and made the picture your own. The songbird outfit works well for the outfit your trying to capture in the picture and the dark background gives that extra eeriness. I think my favorite part of the whole picture would have to be the lanterns in the background. I'm instantly drawn to them and the background.

Noesis Phobos: So while this was not trying to be an exact replica, you make it your own and it looks totally awesome! I love the shadows and the mystery of the picture. The brightly lite background complements the red shade and the shadowy figure rushing off. This is creating a unique but also staying true to the original type of work.

Stephen Fairbrook: It's a case of who wore it better, but I have to say you both rocked these photos. The Joker pictures were two of my favorite because while they are both of the same character, the bring their own unique looks and feels to them. I'm loving the ledge shot with all the people down on the lower floor. Makes the photo look busy with minimal effort on your part.

WoW Wie: Harley is one of my favorite DC comic characters. While at first, I didn't like this photo that much it grew on me and you can see Harley and Joker's dysfunctional relationship in this picture. I really like the outfit and thought you did a wonderful job.

Nadede Lasalle: Nice to see a King of Fighter fan. This is a really accurate depiction of Leona and I'm glad this hairstyle just came out so you could use it for her. The Miqo starting top looks really nice as well. Awesome fighting pose and background to tie the photo in with.

Kusuh Valentione

Despite the differences in body size, I think you pulled Takaya off quite well! The hair (even the forehead band!) and your outfit are accurate to your reference picture, and the green lighting mimics the eerie lighting while giving your shot a different twist! I’m liking the brilliant 1 effect; it adds some texture to your background and doesn’t stand out too much. The screen tilt along with the background adds to the eeriness mentioned before, and you even captured Takaya’s smug grin! The only thing I find a bit odd is your left hand; at first, I thought it was only your right hand up with your left hand by your side, but then I noticed your other hand and it looked somewhat out of place. I still think the angle and pose of your shot is fitting for the character!

Your shots had different and unique stories being told, and I really enjoyed reading them as I looked over your shots! I still can’t stop laughing at your beach shot hahaha! (It was definitely not expected but still very fitting for the theme!)

Doki Kodoki

The background in combination with the lighting is interesting! One half of the shot is brighter than the other, but it works well because the white of your staff balances the darkness out. Everything about your outfit is spot on with your reference picture, and the lighting on you helps you stand out while creating shadow on your face, giving your shot a more serious mood. Your expression in combination with the shadows on your face give you a worried but determined look, and looking towards the darker side of your shot helps to not wash you out. While I do like the screen tilt, I don’t like how it cut off your feet. Zooming out just a bit more would make some of the creeping darkness to the right more visible, which I think would add some intensity to the more serious mood of the shot!

You consistently came out with strong shots every week, and I was excited to see what your next shot would be for each week! I was entranced by your waterfall shot!

Rivienne Cotrlaint

This is a great use of the screen tilt! While it’s not too much, it gives the viewer a sense of uneasiness, and the dark lighting makes your background ominous. The lighting on you helps you stand out very nicely in contrast to the background, and the background itself practically wraps around you to draw the viewer’s attention straight to you. I am liking the combined outfit, but it doesn’t seem to stay true to the character. I feel the Songbird dress appears a bit too carefree in comparison to the more modest outfit displayed in your reference picture. However, I think the contrast of the black and white in your outfit is quite nice, separating the darker parts of your outfit while helping you pop out!

I loved the strong, yet gentle elegance you exhibited in your shots! I think your snow themed shot was the perfect balance of such!

Noesis Phobos

This shot has some nice action going on! The saturated linework gives the shot a layer of intensity in combination with the screen tilt. The red lighting outlining your back is just like your reference picture, and that is quite impressive! No doubt you’re Joker with your outfit, and I’m loving the mosaics in the Gold Saucer mimicking the windows in your reference picture. I understand that your pose is supposed to appear as if you’re running, but it looks like you had a mega sneeze and are using your elbow to catch it. Nonetheless, I feel the shot has a fun and fast-paced vibe to it with the lights and surroundings of the Gold Saucer!

I love the aesthetic of your character and how you managed to create such interesting concepts that helped your character shine through! I adored your waterfall shot; I would love to go on an adventure like that!

Stephen Fairbrook

I love how clear this shot is! The saturated linework is just barely visible around the edges of the shot to give it a nice focusing effect while not appearing cartoony. Your location in the shot gives you a nice distance between the others on the lower level, and I feel your character is incredibly cunning perched on such a high ledge. Your outfit remains true to Joker, and the hint of your smile under the mask is just great! The screen tilt gives the shot a nice energetic feel, but I think you are too far to the right. Of course, you wouldn’t be able to see the others down below if you moved over to the left, but you’re facing down to the right which makes the shot feel unbalanced. I’m just itching to see a confident smirk directed right at the camera!

The colors of your shots are one thing I won’t forget, and the simple but meaningful concepts for each theme were executed well! I am absolutely in love with your beach shot!

Wow Wie

The background you chose is perfect for Harley Quinn! The lighting gives the shot an animated quality and helps you stand out. Your outfit screams Harley Quinn with the color palette, and your friend in the back is a nice addition to the morbid theme you have going on! The lighting on the spiked rollers really catches my eye, and makes them look dangerous. I like your pose as it is playful, but your expression reads differently to me. You look too worried to be having a fun or casual conversation with your partner. I do like what the screen tilt does for the shot though; it adds to the crazy, bizarre mood of the shot!

You had such fun and playful concepts, whether alone or with friends, and each shot was something new but completely fitting for your bubbly character! I loved the confidence and playfulness of your raidin’ tombs shot!

Nadede Lasalle

Watch out, Nadede’s coming through! I’m loving the intensity of your expression, and you look like you’re not only flexing your muscles, but you’re about to beat someone up with your pose! The lighting on you is nice; I can still see some undertones of green light, but the rest of the light appears whiter which helps you stand out against your background. I think your current distance from the camera is nice, but I also would have liked to see just a bit more of your body to have a better context of the background. With that said, your proximity to the lighting creates some nice shadows, giving your body a more toned look!

Your shots were so adventurous and exciting, and I was always curious what your next one would be! Your snow themed shot was a beautiful and calming respite to your adventures!

When I was unfamiliar with a character, I gave them a Google image search so I could make sure I got the appropriate "mood" and feeling for the character. Because of in game limitations, I didn't judge the outfits to be exact, just that the feeling of the character seemed right.

Kusuh Valentione - One of your strongest shots yet with this cosplay. I love how you managed to find pants with almost the exact belt! The character is lean and powerful and the angled back shot you chose with your highlander manages to capture that mood despite being a bit heftier. I'm trying to place where the background is... the incredible use of the filters obscures it, but I think it's Gridanian? I love it. You've transformed the location into something else entirely.

Doki - The original MMO anime always brings a smile to my face. I think you did a fabulous job matching the feel of the character here, especially with the clever use of make-up and that wonderful staff. Strengthened effects and the location feel lifted straight out of the series. The usage of the camera tilt is appropriate, and the entire composition actually made me start humming the theme song in my head.

Wow Wie - Harley Quinn - with a bonus joker! I really like the background choices here. The Joker extra laughing manically in the background, her timid pose, with the extreme camera tilt and the obvious torture device, really drives home Harley's unstable mindset. You captured the essence of Harley incredibly well, and did a pretty darn good job getting her outfit depicted within the game's limitations.

Noesis - One of our two Jokers. I love the way you managed to get the red outline of the character shot you chose. The line work and camera tilt add the appropriate action to the shot. The outfit is a great match as well. I would have liked to have seen a bit more of that mask, but since I'm unfamiliar with this character... maybe he does the face hidden thing a lot? But it definitely adds to the mystery of this character.

Riviene - Homura is one of my absolute favorite anime characters. The embodiment of a strong, powerful female character who has grown through trials and hardships (and many redos from the save point, so to speak.) Your outfit selection is very good, and conveys her sense of elegance and pride. You've done well matching the background to the shot, but considering who the character is and what she represents, I wonder if a more action oriented shot might have been more appropriate, especially with a colorful and ... shall we say, witchy background.

Stephen Fairbrook - One of our two Jokers. I've experimented with railing shots in the Gold Saucer myself, and I must save you pull it off far better than I managed to! The linework and camera tilt add the appropriate action to the shot. I really love the perfect red gloves. Even the lighting on the hair is a great match.

Nadede - Your Leona is spot on! I really like the clever usage of the Miqo top here, to make it an outfit that no other race could even pull off as well. Great choice for hair, too. I think I get what you were going for with the background, since she's often depicted in front of swirling purple things, but I wonder if an explodey or actioney background might have suited the character better.
