what would the boys (plus zack and cloud) be in a modern au, and how would they meet there?

Angeal: Angeal is a freelance photographer with a hobby for gardening in between projects. He owns four dogs and is looking for a big break once he finishes his botany degree. He goes to the gym every other night to keep in shape and is a good friend and mentor much in the same way he is in FF7. He and Genesis are still childhood friends and he meets Sephiroth in college.

Genesis: Genesis is working to become a writer-musician. A bit of both. He wants to either write a song to change the world or a story to change the world. Whichever comes first. Unfortunately, this means he can be rather pretentious. He and Angeal occasionally work on their college paper using his writing skills and Angeal's photos. Genesis is also a bit into the indie underground music scene and has a wide reach across the city when it comes to different dives.

Sephiroth: Sephiroth is your over-stressed, overly-anxious student. His father has been pushing him to go into politics for the longest time, with ambitions into grooming Sephiroth into becoming a military leader or governor. But Sephiroth doesn't WANT that. He wants to become an astronaut more than anything else. He's still just starting to figure out his identity and relies on Angeal and Genesis to help ease him into finding his place in the world. Sephiroth sees a therapist fairly regularly and has been working to track down his missing mother for years now.

Zack: Zack works at a pet store! Angeal is his favorite customer since he's always barging in looking for snacks and toys for his dogs. Zack loves what he does and goes with the flow when it comes to life. Angeal is sort of a fatherly figure to him and often gives him helpful advice. Zack is a close friend to Cloud they often hang out together on weekends. Zack is hoping to open up his OWN store someday once he has enough money.

Cloud: Cloud is a shy first-year student who is still sort of figuring out what he wants to do with his life. He lives at home with his mom and mostly spends his time sulking around Zack's petstore during his shift. He's too shy to talk to girls and he's ESPECIALLY too shy to approach the cool older students (namely Sephiroth, who was a big athlete at the same high school Cloud attended). Cloud often hides out in the school library, often by himself. He's very skittish and not terribly trusting after years of bullying in the past.

modern au uncle maegors body is found under suspicious circumstances in his house and the cops hand his family a pillowcase with a snake inside saying it eas the only pet found inside and jaehaerys takes the snake even though he HATES it bc it reminds him of maegor and all the horrible thing he did to him and his family and he keeps it in the shittiest chain-petstore-borderline-cruelty-“beginner” tank he takes care of it more or less but he wants it to die and it just refuses. years and years go by, the snake is still alive and jaes teenage grandson viserys develops a fixation towards it and it doesnt matter how many time jaehaerys tells him that itll bite and to stay away from it he keeps finding viserys holdimg the snake insisting it likes him and he starts begging jaehaerys to let him keep it and he promises hed take suuuch good care of it. jaehaerys eventually gives in if just to stop viserys whining and tells him he can keep it but he better not come crying to him when it dies (he wont admit it but hes also relieved to have the snake out of his house). viserys moves the snake into a new proper fuckin. serpadesign tank. and the snake DOESNT die but starts to recover from its poor treatment and only grows bigger and bigger until its like a. 10 foot python that viserys just casually carries wrapped around his neck like a scarf (he will eventually develop back problems from this) the snake continues to live a disturbingly long time there are pictures of baby rhaenyra asleep with the snake curled up around her

Excerpt: As soon as he stepped inside the blessedly cool store however, the sound of Dmitri laughing gently drew him further into the shop and wiped all thought of refusal from his mind. There, spread out on the floor with two bunnies using his slim form as a jungle gym, was Dmitri. Dmitri opened his eyes and met Jensen's struck stare. He sat up, scooping the same bunny from the day before - Dean - and cushioning him in the crook of his arm. "Look, Dean-o. Someone came to visit." Dmitri said, his voice soft and the look on his face one of a questioning timidity. How could I say no to him? Jensen thought as he stared down at the three, two fuzzy faces and one beaming. "Who’s that?" "This? This is Cas. He and Dean are a bonded pair." Dmitri said, lips curling to the side in a half smile that made Jensen's insides squirm. "Rabbits often bond with the same gender. It's more for comfort than for anything. And they both have to forge their own connection for the bonding to solidify." Dmitri said, slowly getting to his feet with the gold-flecked Dean still in his arms. He’s a walking encyclopedia for pets - and it’s adorable. Jensen thought absently. "Here! Hold him while I get Cas." Dmitri said and plopped the gentle furball in Jensen's arms. Immediately, Jensen crooked his arm like he had seen Dmitri do and the rabbit sat in the cradle, calm and content. Jensen looked down at it and then back at Dmitri, holding the little gray bunny. "Y’mean they're both male? Rabbits can be gay?" Jensen blurted and felt his face flush red. Dmitri had the good graces not to laugh outright at him but the distracting lips of the shop owner did quirk in a barely repressed chuckle. "Being gay is a human construct. Many animals in the wild seek companionship with others of the same gender. Only our species seems to find some fault with it." Jensen didn't have a reply to that prepared so he simply remained quiet. "He likes you." Dmitri observed, reaching out for the animal. "How can you tell? D’you speak rabbit?" Jensen asked, raising one brow and handing off the gentle animal. "No, I don’t speak Lagomorph, exactly. But if you know what to look for, you can understand how a creature feels just by the way they act." Jensen nodded slowly. "Okay, I'll bite. How-" "Please!" Dmitri countered immediately and Jensen barked out a shocked laugh. He was rewarded with a wide grin and dancing eyes from Dmitri. "How d’you know he likes me?" Jensen chuckled out, and waited until Dmitri put Dean back with his bond-mate to return the wide smile. "Simple, he was licking your shirt. You didn't notice?" Dmitri asked, indicating the maroon, gray and white checkered flannel he wore. "Uh... no. I seem to not notice much, lately." Jensen admitted. More like I don't notice anything when he's around. Jensen thought wryly.

Surprisingly yeah! The Bakery AU is one that my brain has really hyperfixated on. My big sibling and I jsut need to name all the places like offically before we actually start writing. Some places already have names.

Hangman, Matt and Nick: They work at the bakery- the Bucks like working and cooking and does Hangy. Hangy technically runs the building/ other worky stuff

Nathaniel Pacatto [OC] Runs a petstore

Jay, HOOK: Jay and Hook work otgether in the record store that Jay buys called Blackthorn records

Kenny, Kota: Kenny has no big boy job but he's a streamer and frequents the bakery a lot to support his friends. Kota also doesn't have a big boy job but that may change.

Wheeler Yuta: He owns a flowershop

Adam Cole [baybay]: Runs one of those like health food stores and is grumpy about new people buying up the lots and taking away buisness

Danhausen: Runs a kinda spooky antique shop that always seems to have people in but nobody buys anything yet somehow it stays in buisness

William Regal: Has owned and run an old bookstore in the town for as long as people can remember. One of those like really pretty ones that smell dusty but that comforting sort of dusty. Has a house nearby his bookstore.

Claudio, RJ City: The old married couple that run an italian restraunt together. RJ used to be a social worker and is the one who formalised the adoption between Jay and Regal

Excalibur, Mox, Kris Stratlander: He runs a gym and yes he still wears his mask because the idea of him not having a mask just means he's not excalibur Mox works there and he runs self defense classes also grew up in foster care so him and Jay know each other and like are BEST FRIENDS Kris also works their and teaches a womans exercise class as well as a kickboxing class

Eddie Kingston, Ruby Soho: The two of them are adopted siblings [Ruby changed her name] and they work in their familys garage wheer they mend cars. It belongs to eddie now

Aubrey Edwards: She runs a bar. Like the best bartender who takes no shit what so ever.Hangman frequents there a lot

Taz: He runs his own radio show called 'radio Taz'

Dr Britt DMD: Shes a dentist, it terrifies me but its lore.

MJF: He sings in Aubreys bar because it has like a karaoke stage but hes the total centre of attention

Evil Uno/ the rest of the dark order: Uno is a foster carer Stu is helper/partner/ dont question it what are you a cop? The rest of the dark order

Jungle Boy: He works in a museam and has luchasauras as a teaching mechnism as like a stuffie. However its implided that he is alive.

Norma,Gisu and Lili will sometimes enter a petstore and when they see the dog section of it and browse the chew toys, wondering if their respective partners would like it.

i think the only one of those 3 who would genuinely do that is lili and raz would be like wow......... thanks........................... and its hard to tell if he's being sarcastic or not

tho to be frank i wanna ask that at a certain point w/this au I would like people to maybe cool down with directly comparing the aquatos to pet dogs specifically. just bc it makes me feel uncomfortable. thank u for understanding

like these guys are Mikey is a baby (derogatory)(affectionate)(protective) Another bad thing (+good), I can watch season 2 of rottmnt BUT ITS SO GLITCHYnjsanfjngsjanij Anyways, me and my older brother play this game where we say 2 shows and have to make them crossover and we did 2k12TMNT x HP

The excuse for them to go to hog warts was they were magical animals but no one realized and got in a muggle petstore and blah blah it's obvious

So we have out the turtles houses Raph-Hufflepuff Donnie-Ravenclaw Mikey-Gryffindor Leo-Slytherin

We mostly did those on the like the basics of the characters and house traits (Tell me ur choice house for them) so might change later We decided for like Dumbodore to give them something for them (and splinter) to look human so yeah

April is still half-kraang, and casey is that weird muggle kid, and Karai is just muggle still

And we're cramming all their canonical trauma in them during the summer and holidays..the timeline of that currently doesn't matter

I love cross over AUs! I don’t talk about it because a lot of ppl hate them and I’d be talking to myself 💀

For the houses I’d put Raph in Gryffindor simply because I know your house is based on traits that you value within yourself, and Raph seems to value his bravery and brawn.

Leo is definitely Slytherin. While yes, he is very brave, it’s not something he dwells on. He’s always trying to prove himself and better himself as a leader, which can be seen as ambition. Slytherin trait.

Mickey is a tough one for me…I feel like he might be a mixture of two houses but idk which one he’d be in…he values family, dare I say, more than any of them (although Leo comes close) but he also values his want to prove himself to everyone…I don’t wanna sound cliche and say hufflepuff but that’s what I’m getting 😭 I wanna get risky and say slytherpuff just because I know I’m the only one who thinks that 😈✌🏽

I think everyone can agree Donnie is Ravenclaw 😆

I have to rewatch everything, Maybe I’ll change some of my answers but that’s how I remember them.

I’m sorry.

Janus hadn’t missed how Roman had reacted to the words. How he’d tried to brush them off like it was nothing.

It wasn’t nothing.

It had taken him a long time, with the encouragement of his therapist and Patton’s unwavering love, to grow comfortable admitting when he was at fault. To apologize. To say those two little words and actually mean them without trying to use them for his own gain.

He hadn’t even realized he’d even said ‘I’m sorry’ until he saw his Ex jolt like he’d just gotten electrocuted.

I’m sorry.

Two little words.

Two little words that he’d never said to Roman while they were together, but had made him, his Prince, say constantly back for every little slight or wrong doing Janus had accused him of.

Two little words.

Two little words that he needed to say sooner rather than later to his Ex in a far more meaningful way.

I’m sorry.

The phrase whirled in his head relentlessly as he half listened to Roman’s spiel about the store’s guarantees and return policies for their Min while also listening to Pattey’s excited chattering to the little Frogmin nearby as the two new friends looked through the shelves of Min clothing for a ‘gift outfit’ for Virgil to wear home.

Apparently it was part of their Christmas package this year for their Mythical Mins...and quite considerate of Roman to bring up as Janus hadn’t realized, even with all his research, that the Mins would need clothing. That they would want to wear anything.

He would have to keep that in mind. That Virgil should be treated less like a frog and more like a person. And people liked clothes.

“What about this one!?” Pattey asked, pulling out something that was bright blue, though at Virgil’s hiss, quickly put it back. “But blue is so pretty, Vee!”

“No.”

“A little blue?” “NO.”

Their chatter in the background was comforting, and yes, semi distracting, but with his and Roman’s heads nearly touching as his Ex pointed to various key lines on the multiple forms he had him filling out, it helped to keep him grounded enough from his own thoughts to nod and hum at the proper moments as Roman spoke and not look like a completely besotted idiot.

Janus couldn’t stop the smile from tugging at his lips though as he tapped his pen on the counter, watching his Ex from the corner of his eye. It almost felt like old times. Back when they’d be up until four in the morning, a single desk lamp illuminated between them as the two of them desperately tried to hammer out the final details in their latest project. Roman even emphasized the important points the same way. Triple circling the return policy with a black marker as Janus dutifully initialed and signed where his Ex indicated.

That didn’t mean he didn’t notice when Roman skipped over the line stating that he could call the store anytime if he had any concerns about the Frogmin. It was a slight enough omission, done so smoothly by his Ex, that If he hadn’t been reading along to keep himself semi-focused on what was being said, Janus would never have known.

He bit back a sigh, ignoring the ache in his chest as he signed his name to the bottom of the page. If they’d actually been back in college, he wouldn’t have hesitated to point out that Roman had skipped a line. Teased him about being careless with binding documents and surely he didn’t mean to imply that Janus couldn’t call.

But he’d grown enough to recognize that this was a sign that Janus shouldn’t call. Not that he couldn’t. Roman was discretely setting a boundary for him not to cross and he...well he would recognize and respect it.

“Is that all?” He asked, placing the pen on the counter.

Roman’s eyes flickered as he straightened. “Well...you still need to pay.” He said turning for the register to ring up the Frogmin. “But yes that’s all the forms to say that Virgil is yours now.” He gestured to the pinpad before grabbing the papers flipping through the pages to separate out the copies that the store needed to keep.

“YAY!” Patton cradled Virgil, now wearing a black and purple hoodie, close to his cheek, beaming up at Roman. “Vee can come home and eat all the Spiders!!”

“Maybe not all of them tonight, Pattey.” Janus said, giving his son a wink as he tried to push away his own gloomy thoughts and the pressure he could feel building in his chest.

Stupid conscience.

He recognized he needed to apologize. To try and make amends for those two turbulent years he’d put Roman through. But it hardly felt like the right moment. It was Christmas Eve for crying out loud! How much more cliche could he get?

“We wouldn’t want Virgil to get a stomach ache and be sick on Christmas now would we?” He remarked, pulling out his credit card.

When would he ever have another moment though to tell his Ex he was sorry? He lived far enough away that a casual visit was out of the question and more than likely not wanted. Not unless something happened with Virgil...and even then...it would suck to have to face Roman again under well less than ideal circumstances.

Tonight was hardly ideal.

But their conversation had gone civilly enough that maybe...maybe this was the best moment.

The only moment.

It was two little words.

He could say them.

He just needed to prove to Roman that he actually meant them.

Patton paused, frowning as he turned his head to Virgil before his eyes lit up again. “One spider as a treat.” He whispered. “Then you can help me put out the cookies and milk for Santa!”

Virgil frowned, pulling his hoodie over his head. “Santa?” He asked at the same time Roman spoke up.

“What kind of cookies are you putting out for the big guy? Sugar? Snickerdoodle?” He asked, scooting the paperwork over for Janus to take.

“CHOCOLATE CHIP!” Patton placed Virgil on his shoulder before spreading his arms out wide. “Daddy made thiiiisss many! That way Santa has lots and I can have lots too!”

“Oh?” Roman raised an eyebrow to Janus. You bake? He mouthed.

Janus rolled his eyes, folding up the forms and placing them in an inside pocket. “Surprise. I finally figured out how to work an oven.”

“Without starting the dishwasher on fire?”

Janus flushed, fumbling to put his card back into his wallet as the machine beeped at him. “Yes.”

Crofters, why did his Ex have to remember that particular incident. It had hardly been his...proudest moment. Definitely one where he should have apologized, but instead had managed to convince the landlord that faulty wiring was the cause and he and Roman wouldn’t need to pay damages.

Virgil snickered as Pattey looked between the two of them. “But Daddy...dishwashers only use water. There’s no fire there!”

Roman smirked, handing him the receipt. “Exactly.”

Patton turned to him, tugging on his pants. “Daddy? Dishwasher’s aren’t for food. Don’t cook in them!”

He reached down ruffling his son’s hair. “I know, Pattey. I only did it once. Don’t plan to do it again.”

“Good! Because soggy cookies are not yummy. Not at all--oh! Mr. Prince Roman!” Pattey whirled to Roman. “Can Virgil eat cookies?”

Roman flashed him a smile, eyes alive with laughter that made Janus’s heart skip a beat. “Yes, though not your usual cookies. Virgil needs a higher protein diet with less sugar than you do.” He grabbed a package hanging from a peg nearby, holding it out for Pattey to see. “These are Cricket Crumbles. Kinda like your no-bake cookies, but made from crickets instead.”

Patton lit up as he spun back to his dad, eliciting a squeaky hiss from Virgil as the poor Min clung to his jacket as Pattey grabbed onto Janus’s sleeve tugging it. “Daaaaddd?”

Yah….He had seen that coming a mile away. “Mmm?”

“CanwegethecrumblesforVirgilsohecanhavecookieswithustoowhenwegethome? Plleeeeaassseeeeee?”

Janus raised an eyebrow to his Ex. “Is it too late---”

Beep.

“Oops.” Roman said, not at all sounding apologetic as he pulled his hand away from the bag he’d just scanned. “That will be $7.89”

“Right.” He pulled out his credit card again, chuckling at Patton’s excited squeal as Roman handed the bag over to him.

“YAY! Look Vee! Cookieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!”

“...I see that.” The Frogmin said in his low tone, tilting his head at the bag, his nostrils flaring.

His Ex laughed, moving from behind the register, gesturing them to the door. “You always bend that easily to your kid?”

Yes. Janus shrugged, ignoring how his heart had leaped at hearing Roman’s booming laugh. “It’s Christmas.”

Roman raised an eyebrow, amber eyes bright and sparkling and just perfect as he pulled open the door. “Mmhmmm. You spoil him rotten don’t you?” He said, lowering his voice as Patton and Vee darted past them into the night.

“Look, look Vee! See that’s our car over there, and ooo look! All the stars are out!” Pattey cried pointing upwards, thankfully stopping on the curb without Janus having to remind him not to run out into the parking lot--a shockingly empty parking lot considering how busy it had been just twenty minutes earlier.

“Not as much as you’d think.” He wanted Pattey to be better than him. To grow up realizing he couldn’t get everything he wanted with a well placed pout or scream.

Speaking of being better.

Stomach twisting in knots, Janus placed his hand on the door before Roman could shut it and physically and figuratively lock him out. “Roman…” He drew in a steading breath, mentally crossing his fingers that Patton wouldn’t interrupt the moment as he looked him straight in the eyes. “I know it’s not the best timing.” Horrible timing. Who apologizes on Christmas Eve except the protagonists in a stupid holiday Romance Movie? “But I don’t know if I’ll see--I’m--I just want--It’s not worth much all things considered but I--well--” He’d probably never get another opportunity to do this.

Roman’s eyes flashed as he raised an eyebrow, his fingers going white as they gripped the door.

“I’m sorry.” Janus said, forcing himself to maintain eye contact as he spoke. “I don’t expect you to accept it.” He really wanted him to though. “But...I am sorry. Truly sorry. For how I treated you, our relationship. I--I was in the wrong and I shouldn’t have--”

Roman raised his hand, a single finger pressing against his lips, shutting up Janus entirely, breath catching in his throat. “You’re right.” He said softly, eyes glittering in the faint lights from the parking lot. “It’s rather cliche timing.” He dropped his hand, taking a step back. “And...I don’t…” He exhaled, turning his head away to look back inside the store. “I’m not sure I want to hear it just yet, Dae.”

Janus flushed, feeling his cheeks heat up despite the rest of him feeling like he’d just got dunked in freezing water. “Because it sounds fake right?” He always sucked at apologizing when it actually counted. It never sounded real to him either.

Roman huffed a laugh, rubbing the back of his neck. “No, you actually sounded genuine. But Dae--” He shook his head. “You put me through a lot. A lot. In college and I--I’m--I can see things are...different. I’m just...not ready yet. To accept your apology. I’d like to think I would at some point. But right now? Here?” He made eye contact once more, amber eyes surprisingly still glowing with warm. “I can’t. It’s hard enough to believe that you’ve actually changed despite what I’ve seen tonight.”

I only ever knew Liar Dae.

Right. Janus slumped, chest aching as he nodded. “I understand.” He’d known a fifteen minute conversation and an apology couldn’t erase those two years of toxic manipulation that easily. But he’d---he’d hoped--

“Good.” Roman searched his eyes before visibly relaxing. “And I can’t believe I’m saying this...but have a Merry Christmas, alright?”

It wasn’t the ending he wanted. But all things considered. It was a good enough note for their unexpected meeting to end on. Janus nodded. “Merry Christmas.” He said softly, watching as his Ex locked the doors and disappeared deeper inside without a looking back.

“Daddy?”

Janus jumped, tearing his eyes from the door as his son grabbed his hand. “Mmm?”

His little LilyPatton squeezed it tightly, looking up at him. “You should get two cookies tonight.”

Janus chuckled, squeezing his hand back. “You think so?” He asked, glancing back to the doors one last time.

“Yes!” Pattey tugged at his arm, pulling him towards the car as Virgil crouched on his shoulder, head swiveling between the store and the car. “Dragon Witches always get cookies after working with the Prince! It’s the rules!”

“Oh? Well then, I can’t argue with that.” Janus pulled out the car keys, jangling them as he offered his son a small smile. “What do you think? Should we let Virgil drive us home to get those cookies?”

“DRIVE?!” Screeched the Min, mismatched eyes growing so wide they seemed to take up his entire face as he tried to bury himself in Pattey’s jacket. “ME?!”

Janus laughed, purposely putting any further thoughts of Roman on the back burner until after his son and new friend went to bed.

No use wishing for what could have been when he had his family right here in front of him.

“No, I’ll drive.” He said unlocking the door, helping Pattey hop inside, pressing a quick kiss to his forehead before buckling in his son. “Lessons will have to wait until you’re older, Virgil.”

Or until tomorrow morning when Patton unwrapped the remote control car Santa would be bringing him.

Dream SMP Neighborhood AU - Part 1

Canon angst? Who’s that? I only know happy au where they all live in a neighborhood and own small businesses where everyone support each other :)

- It started with the Dream Team, who moved into a new neighborhood to live together. Their house is in the middle of the street, and has now grown to be the common hang out place for the people in the neighborhood. It’s lovingly dubbed the “community house” by everyone. They don’t mind, they have the space.

- Dream works as an independent coder and game designer, George has a shoe business with Ponk (who also moved into the neighborhood soon after), and Sapnap works at Awesamdude’s hardware store.

- Awesamdude jokingly adopts Sapnap, Sapnap also calls Badboyhalo Dadboyhalo. Because they are the somewhat reasonable adult adult in the neighborhood, they have share emotional custody over him. Once Sapnap, Karl, and Quackity started their romance, the shovel talk was both wholesome and terrifying, a feat only BBH could achieve. BBH gave the trio cookies afterward. Quackity was confused and afraid, but the cookies were really nice.

- Eventually Sam and BBH won Quackity over because they are always super nice to him after the shovel talk.

- Niki and Puffy owns a flower shop, and Fundy has an ice cream shop next to them. They have a friendly rivalry, mostly between Puffy and Fundy where they try to scam/prank each other while Niki watches on and occasionally fans the flame.

- Badboyhalo and Skeppy co-own a bakery. Skeppy is the cashier and Bad makes all the sweets and treats, and gives them out to the childrens of the neighborhood - Tommy, Tubbo, Ranboo, and Purple. He has the biggest soft spot for Ranboo because Ranboo is super polite and doesn’t swear.

- Let’s be real almost the entire street is wrapped around Ranboo’s little finger. He is Niki’s little brother but *everyone* wants to adopt him. He helps out at Fundy’s ice cream shop, which makes Fundy very happy and maybe a little smug at everyone else.

- Eret is a librarian. They also build models of houses. They have a miniscule replication of the neighborhood in the library and also have a room to showcase photos around the neighborhood.

- Hbomb is the local radio guy. He has a gameshow where he invites the people from the neighborhood to come hang out and talk about themselves and what they do.

- Antfrost has a petstore/shelter. Sapnap might or might not have been banned from the store vicinity after one (or several) incidents involving the smoke alarms, some broken windows, and maybe a (hoard of) escaped doggos. Sapnap also got into trouble for a series of prank involving Niki’s and several other people’s pets, which caused Niki to stop talking to him for a week. No one has ever seen Niki that angry before, it was quite horrifying.

- Ant also has a long distance boyfriend, Redvelvet. They are adorable with each other.

- Callahan and Alyssa have a software store.
