Thinking about how Clark cuts his own hair by laser-eyes-ing himself via mirror and like. How in the hell did he figure that out?? Was Martha one day when he was like, six, go “okay son I know your new powers are scary but that hair is scarier, we gotta figure something out.” Or, he develops his powers later in life right? College aged Clark has been teased One Too Many Times for his hair and he looks in the mirror and goes that’s enough im cutting this shit off no matter what it takes. How did he figure out mirrors can bounce the lasers off? What was going through his head the first time he stared into a mirror knowing he was about to shoot lasers at his face? And hopefully only his hair would be cut? How bad was that first haircut? I have so many questions.

The way your AU has CONSUMED my life since yesterday when I finally read it lol. I'm not really even usually into DC. I love it. How much older than Clark is Lex? I get the feeling quite a bit based on the resources he had available to keep Clark. Unlike the fic this AU is based off it doesn't look like things started out in a 15 year old Lex's basement lol.
awe thank you!! (mild spoilers under cut)
I actually never 100% nailed down Lex’s age in my timeline notes… he is about 7-10 years older than Clark. Lex's resources (and by extension, the entire world’s baseline levels of technology) grew a lot over time in wsbf, due in large part to the treasure trove of xenobiological inspiration in his basement. His beginnings were a lot humbler. We’ll see a more about the beginnings of Clark's imprisonment in the third act…
That is definitely one of the slow-burn-horror aspects I love about hoebiwan's fic, though, because when you think about it, how hard would it really be to keep a young solar powered boy under containment?
All you'd need would be Kryptonite to catch and drain him, and then a way to make sure he never sees the sun. Best to be careful, in fact, and make sure he never gets any light. An eight year old could fit into a lot of... let's say discrete storage solutions, provided of course you’re not concerned about humane conditions.
(And if you arranged it so that you weren’t there for the capture, if you were the first face he saw when he got out - it might help manipulate your subject's attitude towards you. Particularly if he’d been in there for a long, long time.)
Anyway, once he was sure of Clark's identity, I think catching and keeping him was about as simple to Lex as catching a firefly in a jar would be to a normal, non-genius 15-18 year old.

I'm working on a post showing all the references to past versions of Clark and Lois from the most recent MAWS episode, and I don't recognize these three Loises. Are these references, or were they just made up for the show?

Poor Clark. Not even one season in and his main villains have already unionized.

Batman: The Animated Series - Paper Cut-Out Portraits and Profiles
Clark Kent
Heralding from Smallville in rural Kansas, mild-mannered Clark Kent is a reporter for the Daily Planet newspaper of Metropolis.  Smart, quiet and unassuming, Kent is the civilian identity of Superman, a hero possessing awesome powers that he has used to protect life, liberty and the pursuit of justice.
Kent met Bruce Wayne while writing about a joint venture between Wayne Enterprises and LexCorp.  Although Wayne had primarily traveled to Metropolis because he suspected The Joker was planning on using a large cache of Kryptonite to kill Superman.  Utilizing his X-Ray vision, Superman was easily able to discern Batman’s secret identity as Bruce Wayne; and Batman returned the favor, using old fashion detective work to determine Superman’s alter ego as Kent.
Putting aside their differences, Batman and Superman joined forces to take down the Joker and save Metropolis.  Despite getting off to a rocky start, Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne would go on to be lifelong friends and allies.
Actor Tim Daly provided the voice for Clark Kent/Superman, first appearing in the debut episode of Superman: The Animated Series.
