My thoughts on Tales of the Empire Trailer.

So… Tales of the Empire. Where to begin?

First off, the biggest eye catcher was Barriss. Same as the rest of you, I incredibly happy that we finally get to see Barriss after a decade of absence. Especially now that she’s put into the quality of the current Star Wars animation. She’s incredibly perfect/ charming as ever.

Secondly, General Grievous. We can finally see more scenes of how menacing General Grievous can be. Especially that this will be based around the aftermath of the Nightsister’s massacre. The last time we saw this monster was only 3-5 seconds of scene time in the final season of the Clone Wars. I love General Grievous. And I’m ready to see him again.

Now my only problem/worry. Barriss. I hate that she’s brought back, just now… she’ll be serving the Empire. Why? Gods Why?! This was my biggest worry. I hate that she’ll be an inquisitor. And what worries me even more is Vader. This was really bugs me. I’m worried that he’ll kill her. To build her up, only to be killed afterwards scares me. Especially when only 2 months ago that I saw one of my favorite superhero get killed off in such a stupid and disrespectful way. In the game: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the Squad kills our favorite heroes. One of them being, Batman. But this isn’t just Batman. THIS IS THE ARKHAM BATMAN. The Batman I grew up with! They had set this game in the Arkhamverse. Where it ended on a perfect note on Arkham Knight. Then they brought him back, only to be brainwashed and killed off disrespectfully. This is what I fear for Barriss. Using her as bait material for the show and then killed at the end just to wrap up her story. We wanted a redemption arc goddamn it!

Right now, I’m happy/ anxious about the Tales of the Empire. This has been plaguing my mind since the trailer came out and will most likely continue until May the 4th. Let’s hope she survives and gets a redemption arc in the Ahsoka Show.

Sidenote: The show has motivated me to finish the first chapter of my story, Star Wars: War of the Ring. Sorry that it has taken me this long to get the first chapter done. But it’s almost done. I’ll try to put it out sometime this week.

'Justice League: Warworld' Gets Brutal Blood-Thirsty Rating

The live-action DC universe has been in a transition period as fans wait for The Flash and James Gunn’s grand vision for the DCU to come to fruition. However, over the last decade, what has united many comic book readers has been DC’s animated universe of films. Now the latest film in the line, Justice League: Warworld, has been given an R-rating.

The edgy rating is pretty straightforward with the only reason given being “some bloody violence.” The animated DCU has loved getting its hands dirty for a while now as Warworld is the 13th R-rated animated film for the brand. This includes Batman: The Killing Joke, Batman: Gotham by Gaslight, Batman: Soul of the Dragon, Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay, Justice League Dark, and Justice League Dark: Apokolips War. This is also the second R-rated film in the “Tomorrowverse” continuity that was started with 2020’s Superman: Man of Tomorrow — with Batman: The Long Halloween - Part 2 being the other film. While it’s hard to expect Warworld to get any bloodier than Apokolips War which was DC’s own messed-up Avengers: Endgame-style story, the source material definitely has the potential to warrant such a rating.

What’s Justice League: Warworld About?

The story of Warworld will see the Justice League in a classic comic scenario of being kidnapped and transported to the brutal title planet that's known for its gladiatorial combat. Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman must unite to form a resistance and lead the entire planet to freedom. This was something that was teased in the post-credit scene in the last film Legion of Super-Heroes. While this film’s not based on any specific DC storyline, Warworld, and the dreaded Mongal are major cornerstones in the universe. Outside the comics, the planet has appeared in many TV shows, movies, and games including the iconic Justice League animated series. Also, given that this is centered around Warworld, DC fans should expect our favorite heroes to be forced to fight each other at some point in the film.

When Will Justice League: Warworld Be Released?

There’s no confirmed release date for Justice League: Warworld yet, but the film is expected to debut sometime this summer. It’s safe to assume the movie will arrive around San Diego Comic-Con which takes place at the end of July. Warworld will star Jensen Ackles, Stana Katic, Darren Criss, Ike Amadi, Troy Baker, Matt Bomer, and Frank Grillo. You can read about the full cast listing here. Welp, with The Flash coming out and it being like swan song to the DCEU, I couldn't help but take a look back at some of the other DC movies and i was like, "why not just rank them and with my stupid opinions!"

Aight so this is the part where I explain why, originally i considered making a post of each movie like how i did it with marvel movies and shows on Twitter at some point but decided not because I'm not a poignant person with the most creative writing nor could i often keep the same attention span for it for awhile so here is the best way to review em all in a few words or less.

Will be doing it in the order they were released in.

1. Man Of Steel

7.5/10.

I actually like this movie, it's definitely has non-stop action and i can't help but think maybe I just enjoy that because I have a peanut for a brain. It definitely tries to be more grounded to see how humanity would react to Superman existing our world. I do like Henry Cavill as Superman i just wish we got more scenes of him being more warmer and more scenes of him helping and saving people. I can definitely understand why others disagree and really dislike this one.

2. Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice

3.5/10

This movie exists and is what set off panic triggers at Warner Bros. & Prettyyyyyyy much ruined the perception of Superman and Batman to a bunch of "certain" people. It crams in way too many storylines, tries to set up way too much, some miscasting, kills off superman in his like 2nd appearance, wonder woman got spoiled in the trailers and whatnot.

Ben Affleck as Batman was cool and the warehouse fight scene was cool. I'm sad that it was Dick Grayson the one who got killed.

The Ultimate Edition of this one is just a 6/10, while it does give more context and more scenes that I do like, it still has the same problems so no, it doesn't fix everything.

3. Suicide Squad

2/10

Nobody likes this movie, also nobody likes me.

I remember thinking that the comic con trailer was the coolest shit to ever exist. Then I saw the movie and remember feeling lied to and deceived.

Everything sucks, everything happens too much at the same time, characters barely feel like character at times, etc. Really deserving of that Oscar!!!!!!!

I did like Harley Quinn, Amanda Waller, and Captain Boomerang (even if he barely did anything)

4. Wonder Woman

8.5/10 Wonder Woman

Really love this movie, Wonder Woman is great, i love the characters, the chemistry, the action and her helping people.

It does stumble abit towards the end however but even then, it still felt like a great movie 👍

5. Justice League (2017)

5.5/10

This movie pretty much is the reason why the DCEU became a wild rabid animal that needed to be put down immediately.

Movie is just mediocre, humor is just "Not funny. Didn't laugh." , Action is lame, backstories are rushed, Flash is annoying, Aquaman is a dickhead for no reason, cyborg doesn't even get a backstory, they really take their time saving people, dumb Russian family subplot.

I liked the after credits scene of Superman and Flash racing. So while the movie is not extremely awful and not a bad waste of your time, it's also not a good waste of your time.

6. Aquaman

7.5/10

Really like Aquaman, love how cheesy it was, Black Manta was cool.

While i love the cheesiness in this movie, this movie does also get abit stupid at times but still a fun time where you can go off with, with a pal or smth.

7. Shazam!

8/10

I thought the movie was a fun time, nothing outrageous but nothing bad as well, just a movie i can have a good time watching.

8. Birds Of Prey

6.5/10

Cassandra Cain is not even Cassandra Cain and that still pisses me off to this day. Overall, it's definitely a Harley Quinn movie and NOT a Birds Of Prey movie. Black Mask was a cool villain. This movie felt like it was trying too hard to be like Deadpool ngl.

9. Wonder Woman 1984

4/10

It's like being asked out by someone you like so you get excited and say yes and later show up to the date all ready and stuff, only to find out it was a prank just to see if you were gullible enough to fall for it.

10. Zack Snyder's Justice League

6.5/10

Welp, i now wish the movie never got released so the people who are like #restorethesnyderverse never got the satisfaction and got to comfortable enough to become a bunch of crybabies believing they are the top of the world.

Movie is just okay, cool action, good characters for the most part but holy shit is it way too long with really unnecessary scenes. If you can't release a movie without making it 4 hours long thinking it'll make things more cohesive, well i got some news for ya pal.

Welp turns out i ran to a limit with the images so lemme make another post about it to keep sharing my thoughts on the DCEU Movies, ig this is a part 1 of 2 post.

But for now, what did you think of my thoughts? Do you agree or disagree to the point that you wanna break into my house to beat me up, kill me and burn my house to the ground.

clive - literally my first rp muse ever/one of the first characters i wrote fanfiction around. started around 2013, so 10-ish years

katia - switched to her maybe 4-6 months after writing clive and ended up enjoying it way more. 10-ish years

gustav - i have an exact date on this because asoue netflix s1 came out on january friday the thirteenth and i made his blog 2 days later on the 15th. 7 years

I finally watched the trailer for that...Megamind 2. Or more so, Megamind vs The Doom Syndicate.

You know, on Sunday, I was looking up the original. And I was reminded how genuinely amazing that first film was. While also hearing the trailer for this new film seems awful...and it is.

And today, I was thinking of what I would rather do for a Megamind 2. Granted, I do think some of my ideas seem rather...possibly kind of mature. Or possibly unfitting for a sequel. Yet I was trying to delve deep into the "Subversive" nature of the original film. With the idea of Megamind dealing with an anti-hero that is basically a "Parody" version of Spider-Man. But I won't spoil more of my ideas.

But if you guys want to hear about it. I would definitely talk about it. Yet a crazy way I described it in my head today was, "Family friendly Suicide Squad". Which sounds kind of insane. Yet there's something deeper with the idea. Even though with the new "Anti-Hero/Spider-Man parody". There was a part of me feels like his story could be his own film. Yet Megamind is important to his story for a good reason. In a way, it's both their story. Including going with the idea that the events of the first film really changed things afterwards.

I haven't seen the original fully in years. And it deserves the love it gets these days because the people behind that film seemed like they knew what they were doing.

From the trailer we see Harley and The Joker seem to both be there, but I can't see anyone I recognize in the actual Isekai world

I did see half a second where it seems like Amanda Waller is still the Squad's handler, so that raises the question of whether 1.) the situation is out of her hands but she's monitoring it/giving advice from afar, 2.) this was some Code Lyoko/Spy Kids 3D nonsense where there's a villain in the virtual world and she sent the Suicide Squad in there to handle it, or 3.) she put them in there as some kind of test and is just monitoring how they react to their perceived situation

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Spoilers galore:

It was never going to be easy. Chadwick Boseman’s passing was shocking and the loss will ripple through the Marvel universe for decades. What he brought to the character cannot be understated, and what he left behind is equally important.

I give Ryan Coogler all the credit in the world. What he gave us is a wonderful movie that struck the perfect balance between grief and moving on. So much of the movie reflected so much of our real life grief at Chadwick’s passing, but handled it in a way that gave us an opportunity to smile and let go.

We’re never told exactly how T’Challa died, beyond a mysterious illness that was too far gone for Shuri to cure. @thenicecheese thinks it might end up being an illness tied into characters who were ‘snapped’. Maybe so. But for me, it won’t matter- it was just enough information without tying themselves up in knots to explain it. The funeral was just the right length, too, giving us a moment to grieve before seguing into the Marvel title sequence.

Except it wasn’t the regular Marvel title sequence. They replaced all the images on the Marvel logo with images of Chadwick Boseman, and there was no music. Yeah, just stab me in the heart, Marvel.

I’m not going to get too too much into the details. It had its flaws. Some of the CGI wasn’t great; while the water sequences were beautifully done, the air shots were often poorly rendered, particularly the ones with Namor flying around. (That being said, when Shuri cuts off one of his wings? Great scene.) Was also waiting for someone to say, “Just because you’ve killed this scientist doesn’t mean there isn’t another scientist to take over the work.” It was a pretty weak premise for Namor to lose his shit over.

I was surprised at how ‘Big Bad’ they made Namor. Not a lot of grays in his world nor the writers’ depiction of him. There wasn’t really a point where I felt he was justified for killing all those people at the beginning, or invading Wakanda. I will say, Tenoch Huerta, who played Namor, was very good with what he was given. Probably needed just a little more sensuality, but had a great presence.

Speaking of presence- and this surprised me, considering how important she was in the movie- Letitia Wright felt like the weakest role in the movie. Her turn to vengeance was very good, but overall, she lacks a screen presence that draws me to her. Will also say Dominique Thorne (RiRi Williams/Ironheart), while not bad in the role, sort of faded into the background after her introduction. Lupita Nyong’o was so much more compelling, and she barely had much to do.

You know who had the most amazing presence? Oh my god, Angela Bassett and Danai Gurira. The scene where Ramonda strips Okoye of her rank was stunning and heartbreaking all at once. Long after this movie fades from my memory, this scene will remain.

And here’s where I talk briefly about DC movies. This isn’t meant to trash them or put them down in any way; what I’m about to say is honest criticism. There are 2 things Marvel does incredibly well that DC just doesn’t.

1. Music. Sarah Halley Finn does an amazing job at casting, but whoever chooses the music for the Marvel movies is vastly underrated. Have you seen the Quantumania trailer yet? Have you heard that freaky version of “Good-bye Yellow Brick Road”? Who can forget “Dear Mr. Fantasy” that started Endgame? Though it’s not in the movie, “No Woman, No Cry” (covered by Tems) was in the trailer, and my god, talk about perfection.

2. This one is currently out of DC’s hands, but is indicative of how DC has handled their universe. Consider this: Iron Man only came out 5 years before Man of Steel. But what has DC got to show for it? A botched Justice League with a Batman who didn’t even get his own movie. A tepid Batman vs. Superman whose only bright moment was the introduction of Wonder Woman. An Aquaman who hasn’t had anything to do since Justice League (5 years ago). A Flash movie that is under a toxic cloud. A Suicide Squad and a The Suicide Squad. I mean, wtf are they building over there? Which is why it will take them a long time before they have a scene in a movie that makes us gasp the way Okoye getting stripped of her rank did. Which is why it will take them a long, long time before the death of a secondary character will hit us the way Ramonda’s death did. You can’t rush that kind of emotion, but DC just doesn’t want to take the time to build a real foundation. They only appear to build the Hollywood fronts old Westerns used back in the day- a passable facade with nothing behind it.

As I said, Wakanda Forever has its flaws, but it will get a lot of goodwill because of the subject matter that carries this movie (how do we move on from grief?), and how it reflects real life events that led up to it. And that’s okay. Sometimes we all need a good cry. I hope Chadwick Boseman would be proud.

I’d give this 8//10. (For comparison, I’d give Dr. Strange/MoM 7/10 and Thor: Love and Thunder 6/10. For DC comparison, I thought The Batman was 7/10.)

There is one post-credit scene. It comes fairly quickly after the last scene.
