I wanna know more about those titan guardians or the group that takes care of the titans. Do they adopt the personality and nuances of the titan they look after or do they try to get the titan to express themselves in less uh chaotic ways <3

The Titan Maintenance Team (TMT for short) are a small group that were forged specifically to take care of Tectonichus’ frame, and keep him in good health. Whether or not other metrotitans have a team like Tec’s, I can’t say for certain, but I don’t think they do since they’re entirely my own idea, inspired very loosely by whale falls. It’s just kind of in reverse? (Since they’re not scavenging a corpse, they’re keeping this leviathan alive and healthy)

TMT mechs each have their own personalities, so they don’t mimic Tectonichus in behavior or appearance. For example Voidmaw is rough yet motherly, but Slumber is kind yet distant. Two very different individuals from Tec.

It is also not the TMT’s job to actively interact with Tectonichus. For one, none are able to speak with him, having no training nor talent for understanding a titan like a city speaker. Tec has also made little to no effort to engage with his inhabitants ever since his previous speaker was murdered. All the TMT can really do is monitor his functions/activity and repair anything that needs repairing. Nothing more.

i really enjoy the whole concept of dick being raised extremely conservative when it comes to recreational drug use, living under the whole "my body is a temple" mindset. even when it comes to caffeine and stuff, he's really pedantic about it all. and then jason comes along and is CONSTANTLY going behind bruce's back smoking weed, downing energy drinks etc etc and dick has a VISCERAL reaction to this.

he goes the whole 9 yards to get him to quit, especially the smoking, and it becomes the bane of his existence, because jason literally just doesn't really care, and he knows it's just one of those things dick is overly weird about.

it's notable that jason does make a conscious effort to somewhat shield dick from it, because as much as the concern is pretty stupid to jason for what it is, he gets that it actually does concern dick a lot.

dick gets over it eventually though and it's just another one of those things. on the rare occasion the two are in the same place and jason's got a lit cigarette or a joint, he does offer dick a hit, but it's mainly for the shits and giggles because every time without fail dick's just like "no?????" and jason find it insanely amusing

its so hard because if there were no other factors, i would LOVE killer croc being roy's sponsor! bc first of all thats hilarious and second of all i think waylon and roy really would get along!!! and croc being an aa sponsor is such a sweet idea that could have been fun with anyone besides roy

most of what i dont like about it is that waylon and roy had no prior history. before the new 52, roy actually had a support system of his friends and family and it was THEM who helped him through his heroin addiction (and i understand that its not scott lobdell's fault that roy didnt have his friends since the n52 retconned the titans entirely, but fuck can we please give him SOMEONE that hes actually interacted with before) so to take that away and replace it with killer croc sucks. meanwhile ollie & roy's relationship is being destroyed because lobdell didnt seem to actually read snowbirds before writing roy's addiction

at face value, killer croc being roy's sponsor is fine. but i cant enjoy it because roy had to lose all of his existing relationships with his friends and his family just for croc and jason to suddenly be his support system (not to mention the fact that killer croc is a batman character??? can we at least give him a titans villain or something)
