Au where Agustin’s dad was actually a dragon like being(they can shape shift) and he’s technically half dragon except it skipped him, and Isabela and Luisa didn’t get it either. Mirabel gets the genes but it isn’t shown up until she’s seven.
It happened when Isabela was being a little mean and puffed pollen in her face, which caused Mirabel to sneeze.
Tumblr media
Only for a huge fire ball to come out and burn Isa’s hair short
So now everyone thinks Mirabel got her gift late and that it’s sneezing fire when really she’s just slowly getting dragon powers
Ok so this reminds me, I had made a dragon AU shortly after receiving the HTTYD asks, and I kid you not, it was similar to this, expect Agustín could turn into a dragon, or at least had a partial form.
SHIIII WE THINKIN ALIKE 💥👊💥👊💥👊💥👊 AND DO
But yeah, this is pretty similar! Thing was, he didn't tell anybody because he just didn't feel it was important, and didn't think any of his kids would get it, since they had gifts and never showed any signs. But, since Mirabel didn't get a gift, the magic from the miracle didn't 'cancel out' any of her dragon genes.
Agustin suspects Mirabem anyway, because for some weird reason, all the dragons in his family have bad eyesight. So when Mirabel got glasses, Agustin already had an idea running in his head that she might inherit it.
For some reason??? No one noticed Agustins eyes either. They have slits and yet. No one bothered to get a closer look. They just brushed it off 😭😭 And after the fire incident, Mirabel's eyes had done the same. They chalked it up to having something to do with her eye sight. They also have sharp teeth, but Agustin is always grinding the ones in the front down, so no one can really tell.
Tumblr media
I think Agustin would have waited a bit before telling her, because she was so excited. But when he did pull her aside, she wasn't too beat up about it. Even though she didn't have a door, she could help her family.
Agustin does let her help, but in moderation. Sure, he teaches her how to control her powers and all that, but it's still unstable; I mean, Agustin sometimes can't even control his own sometimes.
That's all I got 💀💀 sorry this took so long to ask,,,,,I was trying to figure out what to draw, and it still turned out trash
Anyway sharp teeth duo lmao

“You are good to go, if anything goes wrong or if they are not very welcoming, just say the word and we will get you” the head director of the ocean na’vi program says. In front of him was the new girl. Determined and open minded to learn new things, and was given the ultimate task.
Make the first human contact with the reef na’vi.
Nodding in excitement, the new recruit gets into a canoe with her prepared items. Making sure she is set for sail, she looks at her comrades. “I will let you know everything. Hopefully, this can go well. If doctor Agustine has faith in us, we can't lose” she says with optimus in her voice.
Saying her last farewell, she sets off to the Metkayina island.
“This will be good, I can feel it!”
Tumblr media
She arrives at the island, her eyes in awe as she gets closer to the shore. So many na’vi! They all stare at her, many in fear, others in curiosity, and many ready to fight her. Raising her hands, she gets out from her canoe and displays she is of no harm.
“I come in peace, I bring no harm” the human girl announces in perfect, fluent na’vi.
Many, from what she suspects are warriors, stare at her in surprise.
“You are a sky demon! Leave or we will not be easy on you!” one of the warriors warned her. Another warrior follows after.
“We heard what you did with the forest na’vi, leave! You only bring death and sorrow wherever you go”.
The tension was building fast among the other people. Mothers protecting their children, might warriors standing in front of the weak. Any wrong move and she might end up dead. Which is a high factor.
The crowd breaks as two significant looking na’vi walks through, from how they are dressed and the others willing to step aside, the human knew exactly who they were.
And it gave her excitement. Already the first and she is seeing so much!
The human was quick with the traditional na’vi greeting of “I see you”. In hopes that the tension can lessen if she displays their ways.
The Tsahik and Olo’eyktan looked at her carefully. Observing her every move and detail. Small hint of disgust but also confusion as to why a human is here.
“Hello, I bring no harm. I am here to learn your ways. Allow me to prove myself to you, perhaps you have heard of the dark stories of what the humans did to other na’vi, but I promise you that I only bring peace. Please, teach me your ways”.
Tumblr media
Ronal doesn't know what or how or even why. But after a lengthy discussion with Tonowari, they granted the human permission to enter their home. And learn their ways. As best a human can learn. While Tonowari was more loose on letting the human in, Ronal felt different, at first she came defensive and was always on alert should the human do something that seems bad under her eyes.
But the human was aware where the line drew, only did what she was allowed to and dared not to push boundaries. Ronal wasn't making it any easier for the human. None whatsoever. In fact, Ronal planned to make things so difficult for the human that she would have no other choice but to leave.
Now if only it worked that, and not Ronal making it harder for herself.
Tumblr media
“Put more strength in your arms. It must be thinned out and easy to separate. Any thicker and it will be difficult to mix” Ronal instructed the human with a harsh tone. She was teaching the human how to make crushed, thin, dust-like green material. Very dry leaves that were thoroughly picked from their small forest.
The human woman smiled and obeyed, “alright tsahik”. Doing exactly what she is being told. That is the thing that irks ronal. The human doesn't fight back. She doesn't do anything!
“A child can do a better job than you,” Ronal says with a snarky tone. The human just takes it, “I don't doubt it. This is more of their ways” the human replies with such calmness in her voice. Not a hint of anger, impatience, nothing.
“Dont think this will be enough, there is still much more to grind down” Ronal says, as she places a lot more dried grass in the already big pile. The human stops for a few seconds to look at the bigger addition. Ronal smirks, surely this will be it? “Guess I better grind faster to finish all of these” the human says in glee and continues to grind.
Ronal’s smirk left her lips, fine then. Tomorrow will be worse.
Tumblr media
Harsher insults, harsher training, harsher practice. Ronal threw everything at the human, but nothing breaks the human girl. And it infuriates her to the core. Why wasn't she fighting back? Why was she accepting everything? Why was she letting ronal belittle her?
Ronal’s anger grew to where Tonowari had to enterfier.
“Ronal, perhaps you are pushing her too far?” he asks her one day. Ronal scoffs as she does her small tasks in their home. “The human can bare it. Anything I give her, she accepts. That utter fool” she replies. Annoyance heavy on her tone. “She won't break so easily. Not made of sea glass” she continues.
Tonowari sighs, walks up to her and places a hand on her shoulder. “Perhaps not, but your tolerance is thinner than these fibers. Perhaps by surprise, it will be you who will break first”.
Tumblr media
The human began to make and wear her na’vi like clothing to fit in more. And as she talked more with the other clan members, more began to welcome her with open arms and even into their homes. Adapting more into their culture and ways of life. They began to accept her.
Ronal wasn't so ready to accept the human.
Not yet at least.
One night, after the communal dinner, Ronal took the human away from the noise and into a more quiet part of the small forest. Yet, along the way, the human not once asked where they were going. Never questioned ronal’s actions, her odd behavior. Nothing.
When they arrived at a beautiful blue glowing waterfall, Ronal kept a bit of distance from the human.
“Tell me human, why do you accept?” Ronal asks after a few minutes of silence.
The human blinked once, “accept what tsahik?”.
Hissing in frustration, Ronal turns to look at the human in anger.
“Why do you accept everything?! I keep pushing you to do beyond what you physically can. Accept any insulting word I give you. Force you to do things clearly you are not very comfortable with. Why do you accept my harsh treatment towards you?”
The human sees Ronal and sees how she truly feels. Taking a deep breath, relaxing her shoulders, the human does what she does best.
Give her an honest smile.
“You have every right to treat me that way. While I am not personally responsible for the thousands of killings of the na’vi, I still feel ashamed and guilty as if it were my own crimes. My kind has treated your kind terribly. So, I understand if you feel any anger or hatred towards me for simply being human. But I accept, I accept it all. If it means to be part of your world, your clan. I would gladly accept anything you throw at me. This is a dream come true for me. This planet, the life it holds. The environments, plants, animals, you. I love and respect everything about your world. All I desire is to learn how things are. From learning about Eywa to learning of the na’vi ways. My only desire is to learn. To have you personally teach me, it is a high luck I could never get anywhere else. So that is why I accept all that you give me. A price to pay for the things I can see and experience. So Tsahik, that is why I accept it. As my way to thank you”
Ronal saw the human, looking deep into her eyes to detect any lies, but all she saw was the truth.
“You fool…”
Tumblr media
“Irayo, just in time for breakfast” Ronal welcomes her human friend. Irayo, that is what Ronal calls her ever since that night. It's been stuck to her ever since, not that she plans to defy the tsahik wishes.
Irayo sits in the home of ronal and tonowari. Accepting the food, she begins to eat. But not soon after, she felt a little tug from her wrist. Looking down, Irayo sees little tsireya playfully tugging at her bracelet. Taking it off, she hands it to tsireya who tries to bite down on it.
“Has tsireya began teething?” Irayo asks, ronal nods but gives a disapproving look.
“She will rip off the beads. You worked so hard to make it for us” Ronal says as she points to her own matching bracelet. Irayo laughs, “that is fine. It will give me an excuse to make better friendship brackets for us. I will even make another for cute little tsreiya” Irayo replies as she playfully pinches tsireya’s chubby cheeks, making the child squeal in delight.
Tonowari sits down to join them.
“Today irayo and I will attend to the elderly, tsireya will be under your care until noon” Ronal says to him.
Tonowari nods, but couldn't help but smirk a bit. Leaning in, he whispers into Ronal’s ear. “Your friendship with irayo has improved greatly. I still remember when you called her many foolish names”.
Ronal rolls her eyes and taps his forehead lightly.
“I recall no such things. Irayo has been my good friend from the start”
Tumblr media
Aaaaaaaaand that is all for this one! I hope you all enjoyed this fic! Until next time, see ya!

Irayo = Thank you

Sins of the Shrine - Prologue
Tumblr media
Pairing: Heian!Sukuna x Reader
Rating: R
AO3 LINK
Chapter Warnings: heian period brutality, light body horror, thriller, curses do exist, sexual themes, eventually, torture, threats, graphic depictions of blood, ryomen sukuna is his own warning, pre-transcendance sukuna, potential manga spoilers
Summary:
The other miko had whispered of a shrine that separated the clearing of your own but you had forgotten their warning. It was very important, but you had forgotten it. A hushed warning about a demon that dwelled there, his cursed energy so thick it could choke you to death just by being in his presence- that's if you survived long enough for that to be your fate. Whether you come as a lover or an executioner, I am ready to receive you. -Agustin Gomez-Arcos
prologue ↠ i. ↠ ii.
Tumblr media
Cursed energy swirls around you and it is stifling, making it hard to breathe as you’re chased through the woods. The crashing of tree branches as their brittle bark bounces off one another before falling onto the forest floor is deafening behind you. You can’t tell if it’s the pervasive suffocation you’ve grown accustomed to in the past week that lingers in the area or if it’s emanating from the monstrous creature on your heels.
A glint of white catches your attention from the corner of your eye but you can’t look – won’t look – trusting that whatever it is in the darkness is uninterested in you this night; your legs pumping faster as you race towards the unknown. As you move deeper into the forest, the malevolent energy grows even more oppressive and you’re desperately taking in air with every step, already starting to get dizzy. The other miko had whispered of a shrine on the other side of the copse of wilderness that separated the clearing of your own shrine, but your hope was wearing thin until you saw the break in the trees.
A large, looming torii arches above the tree tops and even in the darkness you can make out the warm illumination of braziers flanking the ornate entrance to the shrine. For the life of you, you could not remember who that shrine belonged to, but in this moment you didn’t care. The quiet, lighthearted promise you make to yourself that whatever deity haunted it would be the new god you prayed to if you survived tonight goes unspoken in face of the prevailing danger in the darkness.
You stumble through the arch and the energy here is unbearably thick, but you persevere despite the obvious warning to stay away; the spirit already crashing through the same split in the trees you had. The mournful warbling as it wails raises the hair on the back of your neck and you can feel its heavy footfalls reverberate through the ground as it races into the clearing. Stupidly, you risk a glance over your shoulder and trip – tumbling to the ground with a cry of surprise; landing in an unceremonious heap.
Dirt clings under your nails as you claw at the ground for purchase, scrambling only to slip and fall again. The thunderous sound of footsteps behind you is close, too close, and you whip around to face your death head on. You would not die running away and raise your hands in the mimicry of a gesture as the spirit scurries lopsidedly towards you; its grotesque tongues lolling lazily out of its mouth. The drool from those tongues hit the ground with hisses and stings as it corrodes the very earth under its feet. You shudder in revulsion and fear, shrinking back at the rancid smell of it when it reaches your nose. In a last desperate attempt, you make the peculiar gesture that you had seen only once when it came to you in a dream; feeling utterly silly if this is how you die but pinning every hope on it being a sign of salvation instead.
Sweat trickles down your spine and you can smell the rot of the creature as it reaches you and it makes you want to vomit-
-so you hold your breath and pray fervently to the god of this shrine.
A/N: Hi everyone, thank you for taking the time to read this prologue. This is the start to my sukuna longfic and I apologize in advance. The outline itself is a monster at 8k words so I am very much in the trenches with it already. I really hope that you enjoy the ride and I hope that I can do this freaky little nerd justice. I will add chapter tags as I go, but I definitely think I got the major themes that will be present in the fic. If anything heavy or triggering happens, I'll be sure to plaster warnings where needed.

"I have a daughter!"
Julieta and Agustin's third daughter had finally been born. Luisa seemed especially excited to have a baby sister
Requested by @miracles-and-butterflies
Promt: Luisa meets baby Mirabel for the first time
Julieta sat on her bed, holding the baby against her chest. Mirabel was so tiny, like a doll. But this this feeling could also be caused by Luisa who was really big as a newborn.
"Mi Corazon, I got this." Agustin smiled, taking the baby girl into his arms, allowing Julieta to fall onto her bed, completely exhausted.
The door into their room creaked, Julieta leaned slightly to see who it was. Isabela and Luisa looked through the door, curious about the child. The woman chuckled, calling her older girls. "Niñas, you can come in."
Luisa pushed Isabela out of her way, making the older girl yelp displeasingly before she rushed after her. Agustin sat down as the girls climbed on the bed, looking at the wrapped in a blue blanket baby.
"She's cute!" Luisa gasped in awe and leaned closer, reaching her hand to touch Mirabel's cheek. "I like her!" Baby's blue eyes shifted around, trying to find the source of something on their face. Luisa got closer, almost next to Mirabel's face, examining it closely. "Hi! I'm Luisa, what's your name?"
Agustin chuckled. "Mija, her name is Mirabel."
"Not talking to you." Luisa brushed him off, making Agustin stunned by this sudden behavior change. Luisa had always been really clingy to her dad, but now she didn't seem to pay even the slightest attention to him right now.
Julieta just smiled and put her hand on Luisa's back. "Mirabel is too small to speak."
Isabela blinked. "She's a girl? Ha, I was right!" She looked at her younger sisters proudly. Julieta shook her head, smiling. Luisa was so sure that the baby would be a boy, while Isabela was saying that she wouldn't admit a baby boy as her sibling.
Luisa, however, didn't seem to care at all right now. The baby's gender was the least of her concerns right now. Up until this moment, she didn't realize how much she wanted this baby. No, she was interested in having a niñera since the day Julieta announced her pregnancy, but she didn't think it would feel like this. She wanted to hold her close and never let go. Mirabel was such a miracle, more important than anything that this world could give to her. "I want her!" She announced, almost grabbing the baby out of her father's arms. She couldn't wait to have Mirabel to herself, there was a burning wish to defend her, protect this tiny miracle from any harm. She always wanted to protect everyone, but it was never like this. She wanted to keep her safe so strongly
"Careful, Lu, you have to be gentle," Julieta turned to her now-middle daughter, explaining how to hold a baby. Luisa froze her breathing, trying to understand every single instruction so she wouldn't harm her sister by accident
Isabela crossed her arms. "I am first in line." But she got ignored once again. Who needed a big sister anyway when there's such a sweet hermanita? The older girl looked offended by this lack of attention to her.
Luisa already grabbed her sister, holding her gently as Agustin helped her to support the weight of a newborn in the right way. "I have daughter!" She smiled proudly, looking into Mirabel's eyes.
Julieta couldn't hold back her laughter. "You really love her."
Luisa just nodded confidently. "Of course, I am mama now." Her clingy side seemed to get off Agustin and glue to Mirabel now.
Isabela put her hands on her sides. "No, you're not." She said firmly.
"But I want her," Luisa replied, still staring into Mirabel's face as if it was the most precious thing she ever saw. "Can she be my hija?" She looked up at their dad beggingly.
Julieta smiled sitting next to her. She found Luisa's reaction really cute. She was really excited about this baby, wasn't she? "I'm sure Mirabel will love you both as her big sisters."
It took a really big effort to take Mirabel from Luisa. The latter screamed offendedly as the baby was taken away. She tried to push Isabela away to get back to Mirabel, reaching to her baby sister with her arms
"Luisa, your hermana also wants to hold Mirabel." Julieta sighed, taking Luisa in her arms. The toddler was spinning in her hands, she didn't like being carried since she learned how to walk and now it was even worse with how excited Luisa was.
"Mira is my baby!" Luisa protested, crossing her arms and pouting her lips. She firmly decided that Mirabel was her own child, so she had to be closer to her. "When will she move to the nursery?"
Julieta smiled, ruffling her hair. "If everything will go well, then she will in about six months."
Luisa blinked in shoook and shook her head rapidly. "No, it's too long! Can she stay with me now?"
The adults seemed to find this behavior really cute. Really, the idea of Luisa, thinking of Mirabel as her own child was funny and really sweet. Some big siblings were protective, Luisa seemed to be especially, to an enormous extent. On the other hand, she wasn't sad or jealous because she wasn't the youngest now. Isabela also was happy, of course, but it wasn't something this big for her.
A few moments later Luisa finally managed to get out of her mother's grip. and take Mirabel back, scooting her like the most important thing in the whole world. Julieta looked at her husband and sighed with a smile. "I think our Mira was stolen from us."
Agustin couldn't agree better.

Prev part - Masterlist - Next part
Tumblr media
"Is this thing on?" Eli asked as he pushed some buttons on the camera. He realized that he was recording until he turned to see the screen next to him. "Oh yes it is."
Behind him were Norm, Max and Jake in their respective seats doing whatever on their computers. Jake, like him, was practicing on his first record.
"My name is Eli Thompson. After being asleep for 5 years and 9 months I am finally on the planet Pandora." The soldier started making a face trying to think of what he has to say. "My purpose is to take my brother's place and lead an avatar body that looks like one of the natives here... or something." He scratched his head in some confusion. "Aaaaaand… I think that’s it." He turned to see Norm and Max who were behind him. "Hey Norm. Is that all I have to say?"
The scientist turned when he heard his name. "Yeah, we just have to make sure we document everything we see and feel." Said the man.
Max poked his head from behind Norm's shoulder. "It's what will keep you sane for the next 6 years." He joked.
Eli gave him a small smile, shaking his head and turned to the camera. "Okay. Eli out."
He reached out and turned off the camera.
End of stream.
Tumblr media
"Grace Agustin is a legend," Norm said with great admiration evident in his tone of voice. So much so that Eli couldn't help but roll his eyes at him. He had already heard many things about that woman and not many of them were good. "She's the head of the avatar program. She wrote a the book. I` mean, she literally wrote the book on Pandoran botany"
"Well, that's 'cause she likes plants better than people." Max said, backing up Norm's idea about the female scientist.
Jake looked at Eli and raised his eyebrows in a gesture that said "Won't they really shut up?" bringing a smile to his friend.
"Here she is, Cinderella back from the ball." Upon hearing the aforementioned, both soldiers turned to face the front, finally arriving in the presence of a woman with an aura that gave off arrogance.
'This will be good' Eli thought as he saw the doctor.
"Grace, I'd like you to meet Norm Spellman, Eli Thompson, and Jake Sully."
With very little interest in the newly arrived, except for one of them, the doctor turned around, removed her glasses and pulled her cigarette from between her lips, showing that he had her undivided attention.
"Norm, I hear good things about you. How is your na'vi?" she asked in a surprisingly soft tone.
Norm, clearly nervous, raised a hand in the form of support to search for the words he wanted to say. He was in front of his idol. "May everyone's mother… smile upon our first meeting."
Eli brought a hand to his forehead to massage between his brows. The idea of having to use that new language that his brother tried to stick on his head like a mantra wasn't very appealing. He could understand most of the words, so it wasn't hard to form an idea of what they were saying, but speaking it on his own was out of the question.
And it was worse when he saw how pleased the doctor was at having received the words of greeting.
"Not bad. You speak a bit formal."
Norm let out a nervous giggle, but went on with his talk with more confidence. "I studied five years, but there is much to learn."
"Um, Grace? This is Eli Thompson and Jake Sully." The smile on the woman's face disappeared as Max tried to redirect her attention to the soldiers.
"Ma'am." Jake reached out his hand to shake the doctor's. He was trying to remain respectful despite the scientist's clear distaste for having soldiers within 1km of her work area. Eli, on the other hand, stood idly behind Jake.
"Yeah yeah, I know who you are and I don't need you. I need your brothers" the cold words of the woman put a metaphorical wall between the soldiers and the scientist, causing the calm attitude of the soldiers to instantly change to a more hostile one with just an exchange of glances. "You know?" She asked Max, answering before he could. "The PhD who trained for three years for this mission?"
"They're dead. I know it's a big inconvinience for everyone" Jake's tone of voice was evidence enough that they were now on thin ice.
The woman, for a tiny moment, thought about giving them a chance. But her way of giving them that opportunity was nothing short of dismissive. "How much lab training have you had?" She ask abruptly.
"I dissected a frog once." Jake answered with complete confidence.
Eli snorted at the memory of the chaos of that day in class. "I blew mine up." The soldier laughed.
Grace gasped in shock and outrage. Intend to give them a try. "You see?..." she spat at poor Max. "You see? I mean, they're just pissing on us without even the courtesy of calling it rain. I''ll talk 'm going to Selfrigd." The woman turned around with every intention of hitting someone, genuinely panicking poor Max.
"No, Grace. I don't think that's a good idea."
"NO, MAN, THIS IS SUCH BULLSHIT!" She complained without stopping to pay attention to them. "I'm gonna kick his corporate butt."
Max stopped in his attempts to talk sense into her. Instead, he turned to the soldiers to give them one last piece of news before continuing with the job. The tour was over. "Here tomorrow, 0800... Try and use big words."
Eli and Jake raised their eyebrows in surprise and somewhat amused to see the scientist leave with the last word from him. They were both sure they wouldn't listen to him. They didn't plan on getting along with the woman, but they would try to make an effort not to make enemies with people they will see for 6 years in a row.

Encanto au discussion
Ok, I've started to realize that people are forgetting/ don’t really know what AU’s are. I’m speaking to the Encanto fandom specifically. So, yes, I know AU’s where Alma, the blue couple, yellow couple, and/or Isabela are evil/mean to Mirabel are not liked.
Mamabel au’s aren’t liked because these types of au’s usually bash Felix and Pepa for being bad parents (which they aren’t). Au’s where Alma is just an evil person or Isabela is a b*tch to Mirabel aren’t liked because everyone knows Alma and Isabela as characters are complex people who had issues of their own.
But I think people fail to understand that these fics/ideas have AU attached to them. ALTERNATE UNIVERSE. The characters are literally changed to fit a new story to the writer's liking. I’m sure every Encanto writer understands that the madrigals (the gifted ones specifically) are complex people.
Alma lost her husband to a brutal death and the miracle came about right after. It’s obvious she thought the magic had to be earned in order for it to stay. She just took the idea too far and pressured her children a little too much.
Everybody understands that Pepa and Felix would NEVER leave a newborn baby to a ten year old. The very idea would seem absurd to them. Mirabel obviously is like an older sister than a mother to Antonio. Julieta and Agustin would never neglect their daughters nor would Pepa and Felix neglect their children.
Isabela NEVER bullied/abused Mirabel in any sense of those words. It’s just their relationship dwindled over the years. But you can obviously see they had a loving sister dynamic, even if they didn’t like each other at the moment.
But these characters…are characters. They aren’t real. They are 3D MODEL RIGS given a personality to fit a role in a movie! If someone wants to change them to write a new story they certainly have the right to.
But I am NOT talking to proshippers, all of you can f*ck off, die, and live in the fiery pits of hell for an eternity.
So please, don’t get butt hurt when your favorite character is changed in an au/fanfiction. It’s just writing, it’s not gonna hurt you whatsoever, just scroll on. And certainly, don’t leave comments on the fics saying that (insert Madrigal here) isn’t like that, or “they would never do that”, etc.
We KNOW Mirabel isn’t a teenage mother, we KNOW Alma/Isabela isn’t a monster, we KNOW the blue and yellow couple are good parents. But you do understand that terrible family members do exist in real life…correct?
There are real life stories where teenagers were forced to raise their siblings. Multiple stories where parents/grandparents are really f*cked up people. Multiple stories where siblings weren’t the best people.
Don’t you think people who had f*cked up family members read these fics and feel a little represented when they read that kind of au?
Exhibit A:
Tumblr media
(This comment was on my pequeno soldado fic)
So, just because an au doesn't speak to YOU personally doesn't mean it doesn't speak to others. Don't hate on it either, just scroll on.
Thanks for reading ted talk/rant!

Never A Dull Moment - One Shot
Tumblr media
[Synopsis: There has never been a dull moment in the Madrigal household and the morning of Dolores' wedding is no exception. With Isa and Dolores driving Mira up the wall, Pepa going out of her mind and Agustin being...well...Agustin, Julieta is slowly giving up hope of getting anything done. She can't find it in her to complain though. After all, it is probably the most fun she has ever had.]
Read on AO3 or under the cut!
“Get that thing away from me! Mamá! Mamá!”
Julieta sighed under her breath and moved away from the counter at the sound of thundering feet and her daughter shouting at the top of her lungs, wiping her hands on her apron and palming a curl from her face seconds before she came racing into la cocina with Isa and Dolores hot on her heels. She had little time to work out what was going on before Mira moved behind her, using her as a human shield, and she laughed when the two elder girls halted in front of her. “Ay, I already know I’ll regret this,” She pinched the bridge of her nose before looking back and forth between the girls. “But what’s going on?”
“Only a game, Tía.” Dolores smiled, smoothing her hands down the front of her dressing gown.
“Mamá, I don’t know what that thing is or what it does,” Mirabel waved her hand in the direction of Isa who was holding up her mascara applicator. “But you can tell them to keep it away from me because I have no interest in finding out.”
“Ugh, I am just trying to make you look beautiful!” Isa snapped.
“Excuse me, I am already beautiful!” Mira retorted. “Mamá, tell them I don’t need any of that stuff.”
Julieta glanced over her shoulder at her, reaching to stroke her face. “You are muy hermosa, mi vida.”
“And that is why you’re my favourite.” Mira leaned in to peck her cheek.
“But…”
“Wha? No, no, no. No buts!”
“But amor, today is a special occasion,” Julieta pointed out, laughing when her daughter gawped at her before turning back to the elder girls and seeing the smirks on their faces. “I think you should give her a ten-second head start. The poor girl deserves a chance.”
They glanced at each other and shared a knowing look before turning back to Mira.
“Diez, nueve, ocho…”
“Oh, you are so not my favourite anymore.” Mirabel grumbled, moving from behind her and fleeing la cocina.
Julieta crossed her arms and chuckled when Isa and Dolores gave up counting and ran after her again, Dolores with one hand on her head to keep the pins in place and Isa clinging to her mascara, and she shook her head when Pepa walked in. “Lolita, please…” She watched her reach out to take her daughter by the arm, but it was too late and there was a scowl on her face when she turned to her once her girl was out of sight. “You did this! You!”
“Me?” She brought a hand to her chest, feigning shock. “I have no idea what gave you that impression, but you are absolutely right.”
“Do you have any idea how long I have been trying to get her to sit still for?” Pepa asked. “You are not helping, hermana!”
“Ay...Casita, help me out here,” She rolled her eyes before the house moved a chair towards them and made Pepa sit down. “Pep, calm down. Remember what happened the last time you got worked up on a wedding day? It was not pretty. You gave me the flu!”
Her hermana sighed and raked a hand through her hair. “Lo siento. I…I want it to be perfect for her.”
Taking a buñuelo from the plate on the counter and sprinkling some powdered sugar onto it, she let Pepa take it from her and watched her take a bite. “It will be, I promise. I know you want everything to be done as fast as possible, but we have time before she needs to be at the church. Besides, she is the novia which means she has the right to be slightly late. She also has the right to a little fun before the anxiety takes over. Remember us in the hours before Gus and I got married? Chasing Bruno around the sitting room, trying to force him to wear that stupid tie? Mamá was so annoyed, but we had some fun.”
“You two had fun. I was strangled. You know; still not convinced you weren’t trying to get rid of me.”
They looked at each other for a second after Bruno poked his head into the room purely to make that comment, their laughter taking over when he vanished again as Pepa ate the last of her buñuelo before wiping the crumbs from her mouth. “It has been nice to hear her laughing,” Pepa admitted. “She does deserve to have some fun, you’re right.”
“Do you think I could get that in writing? You say it so little…” She teased.
All she earned herself was an eye roll in response as Pepa stood up. “I needed that. Gracias hermana.”
“De nada,” She shrugged before watching her leave la cocina and turning back to the counter to go on wiping it down, the corner of her mouth twitching into a smirk when a pair of arms snaked around her waist and her husband kissed her on the neck. “I may have to accept the fact that I am never going to get this counter clean again,” She feigned annoyance, leaning back against him. “So many distractions.”
“I think you’ll find you are the distraction here, amor, not me,” He replied, tucking his head gently into her neck and grazing the dip there with his nose the way he knew made her shiver. “I only came in to see if you’d seen my tie, but now I hope we never find it.”
Setting the rag down and turning in his arms, bringing her hands to his chest and taking a moment to admire him in his suit, she smirked as his hands moved to her waist. “And why would you hope such a thing on a day like this, Señor?”
“Because…” He stepped further into her. “Until we find it, I can’t get dressed and that means I can stay here with you.”
She hummed in response, pretending to think about what he said while her gaze moved back and forth between his and his lips. “I have had better excuses from you in our many years of marriage, but I may be able to accept that one,” She admitted. “Just about.”
“Good. I mean, I would have regardless, but I like knowing you and I are on the same page.” He smiled.
“So, are you?”
“Am I what?”
“Going to stop talking at some point and kiss me? Else, this is turning out to be muy anticlimactic.”
Chuckling under his breath, he took a hand from her waist and brought it to the side of her neck under her curtain of hair before using his thumb beneath her chin to tilt her head back. He let his nose graze hers for a second, revelling in the way her eyes fell closed at the contact, and captured her lips with his in a soft kiss. She went up onto her tiptoes as the kiss lingered and he felt her arms circle his neck, her fingers teasing the hairs at the nape as they slowly gave in to one another. It was little wonder neither of them heard their daughter approaching the kitchen until it was too late.
“Ay, Mamá!”
Mira’s outcry prompted them to pull apart and turn to look at her, but their initial shock at her finding them like that passed quickly and they struggled to mask their amusement at her standing there with her hands covering her face.
“Mira, look at me.” Julieta told her.
“Nope.”
“Mira…”
“How could you let them do this to me?” Mirabel dropped her hands to reveal herself completely done up, mascara on her lashes and her lips a subtle shade of red. Her cheeks had even been patted with a little rouge by one of the girls. “I stopped running because they stopped counting, but then they both jumped on me. I think Isabela stabbed me in the eye with that stick thing and now I can’t see out of it.”
Agustín chuckled. “Miraboo, you couldn’t see much before. I don’t think you can blame Isa entirely.”
“Pa, I need you on my side.” She whined before he walked over and put an arm around her shoulders.
“Lo siento, but you really do look beautiful, mi vida.” Julieta shook her head, her hands on her hips.
She pouted. “I do not. I look like Isa threw up on me and yes, it feels as gross as it sounds.”
“Okay, okay, okay,” Julieta made her way over and cupped her face in her hands. “If I help you sort this, will you forgive me?”
“Potentially,” She hummed. “I might forgive you a little faster if you give me a buñuelo after.”
Julieta nodded before taking her by the hand and walking her towards the exit of the kitchen, she and her husband sharing a smile when she stopped for a second to look over her shoulder at him. “Back in un momenta. Do not eat all those buñuelos, I beg you.”
“Promise. Uh, I really do need to know where my tie is though.”
“Bread bin.”
“Wha…”
“Amor, your guess is as good as mine.”
Standing there thoroughly confused, he watched his wife and daughter leave the kitchen together and frowned with a shake of his head. He had no idea what had gone on – it had been an insane morning already – but he was sure of one thing.
There really was never a dull moment in this house.

so I finally watched Encanto. cue Madrigal feels bc what am I, if not on brand.
also please note, I’m a white, Slavic girl living in Central Europe so I probably didn’t get a lot of the Latinx subtext in the movie.
man, first of all, all of the Bruno feels.
Bruno must have had it so hard all his life. the only man in the family, he must have felt the pressure of supporting everyone. and the triplets presumably received their gifts at the same time and it must’ve been scary for each of them in different ways. Pepa obviously, because how do you ask a five-year-old to control their moods because a tantrum can cause a hurricane? Julieta is a different case because cooking is not an obvious gift, so maybe for a while she thought that her siblings got gifts but she didn’t?
and Bruno got future vision. at age 5. it must have been terrifying. no wonder he’s one bundle of anxiety.
I was wondering why Pepa and Julieta were rather late mothers, but now that I think of it, they must have been scared that their kids would get gifts as well. and these gifts would be just as scary.
Dolores and Isabela are both 21 which means Pepa and Julieta were both 29 when they had them. and man, while Isabella’s gift is innocent enough, Dolores’s is also kinda terrifying because imagine hearing all sorts of stuff at age 5. no wonder Julieta had her second child two years later (Luisa is 19) but Pepa waited 6 years (Camilo is 15) and then another 10 (Antonio is 5).
because Camilo’s gift is also kinda scary. Julieta’s daughters got off easy. Prow’s children? not so much.
and then Mirabel got no gift at all. and she saw it as a bad thing, as did Alma, but you can’t tell me the triplets weren’t secretly a little grateful. Pepa and Bruno at least.
Antonio’s gift is scary too, when you think about it. I bet he is gonna convince everyone to become vegan, isn’t he?
but back to Bruno.
Alma’s trauma response was the expectation of perfection from her family. but man, what expectations she must have had from Bruno, who could never replace her Pedro but who must have felt like he should. like he should be the man of the family. on top of his scary visions. I kinda think his invention of Hernando and Jorge was a little bit trying to find a version of himself that was good enough for everyone when he felt he wasn’t.
think about how everyone thinks Bruno was mischievous, when in reality he was a nervous goofball.
his disappearance… one doesn’t make such a decision hastily. I can’t imagine him hiding in the walls on a whim. I can see him finding the hidden room and hiding out there as a child… and then, after admirable doesn’t get a gift and he has his last vision, he goes to his safe place and just… never leaves. the family has another Madrigal man with a gift in Camilo.
for some reason I don’t think Bruno got along well with either of his sisters’ husbands. Felix and Agustin are clearly in love with their wives and happy to take on a more supportive role in the family whereas Bruno probably think he ought to be the patriarch… when he’s anything but. he must’ve felt lonely.

Felix and Agustin had snarled at Alma and chased after their wives and brother in law. They never cared about the magic and, honestly after the way she treated Mirabel after she didn't get a gift and then when she started to change..., They didn't really care for their mother in law either.
When they finally managed to track down their wives and children, a full two weeks after the triplets ran off, they were met with Pepa and Julieta hissing or growling at them for a solid minute before the red fox that Pepa was becoming stopped and then slowly approached Felix. She sniffed him a bit then she purred happily and nudged him affectionately.
"It's okay." Her voice was rough, guttural, and he was honestly still surprised she could speak the human language with how quickly their animal sides were progressing.
"Mate. My life mate." Pepa said and Julieta slowly approached Agustin before nudging him gently with a smile.
Pepa and Julieta led the two humans back further into the dens and were met with children all in various states of alarm or worry and Bruno standing guard.
Pepa chuffed something at them and the three Felix realized were his children came over and sniffed him curiously before they accepted him and began to bounce around or smother him in affection.
The same was happening with Julieta's side of the family and Agustín after a few chuffs and grunts from the elk.
Felix and Agustin were more than happy to have their family reunited.
THEY ARE REUNITED!!!!

Chapter One: The Unpolished Jewel
"there is no story where no one was sacrificed."
The first call of your name goes unheard. The second call is ignored. The third time your name is shouted loud enough to wake the dead and it is accompanied by the sound of angry footsteps and a sliding door that rattles along the rudimentary track as it’s slammed open. It makes you jump and you whine softly when your concentration is interrupted, desperate to finish these last two lines of poetry. A poem that you knew very well if it wasn’t perfect would ensure the disappointment of your father and the ridicule of your siblings. It doesn’t matter to your guardian as she berates you for not answering her and you can’t help but sigh, propping your cheek on one hand and tuning her out.
That’s right, you were graced – cursed, really – with an elder sister and a younger brother. There were other, less legitimate children that you had heard the servants whisper about, too. Your father often wasn’t kind to the household, so they were more than happy to gossip; even in your presence. Not that you minded really, since it was rare you were bothered by your father, let alone your siblings. Sometimes it was the only way you even knew how they were doing, given how scarce your interactions with them were. The estate was expansive and when your mother had died and father remarried someone closer to your age than his you had been banished to the outer living spaces.
It was something you were quite used to, even before your mother died trying to give him a boy. Of course, girls were the preferred sex and the celebrations were grand when one was born, but your father desired someone to take over the clan when he passed. While you wanted for nothing since your father supplied you a generous allowance for whatever you needed and more than you desired. That was as far as his filial duty extended to you, since your sister was the prize of the family. Often as a child you were left on your own, only the servants or your own wit to help you survive and learn how to stumble through this brutal, unforgiving world. Most days you thought it was a blessing, excused from having to perform the courtly rituals that you had heard your sister incessantly complain about.
Some days, though, it was unbearably lonely.
As a child, you longed for friends. Sometimes the servants would bring their own children along, one or two of them a half-sibling of sorts to you; but they never stayed long. Until one day when you were playing on the edge of the property, far too close to the treeline. Your hands covered in dirt, you were approached by two dogs. A normal child would’ve been startled to have two large, spirit beings approach them; but you were not normal. You had been able to see curses since you were a toddler and these beings didn’t look near as frightening as the creatures that hovered on the edge of your home. They didn’t dare come closer, since the cursed energy emanating from your family’s land was intimidating enough to keep them at a distance.
Yet these dogs were unfazed and unafraid, loping up to you with tongues and tails wagging. They were friendly and you returned the same, spending your entire day entertaining one another until you were called back into the house for dinner. You wave goodbye to your new friends but they don’t listen, beginning to follow you.
“You can’t!” You cry softly, trying to shoo them away. “I’ll get into trouble if you come with me.”
They didn’t budge, still sitting there expectantly as if waiting for something. You put your hands on your hips and huff, trying to think of a way you could take them home with you. It was almost certain that your guardian would take them away and have them disposed of if she saw them, since she was deathly afraid of all animals; but especially dogs. They sit and cock their heads to the side and you sigh a child’s sigh of exaggerated exasperation. “I wish you could stay with me, I really do, but you can’t.”
Something on the heels of that wish made the tips of your fingertips tingle sharply and you clenched your little fists to try to stop the weird sensation. The dogs stood before taking a running start and diving into your waning shadow cast by the setting sun, disappearing completely. That did startle you and you panicked, turning in circles as you tried to figure out what had happened. The servant yelling for you grew more frantic in her calls and you hurried home to assuage her worry, but didn’t dare tell her of your own worry. You weren’t even sure what had happened yourself, but ever since you swore your shadow had felt heavier somehow.
At the time you had no idea, but that was the day your cursed technique manifested.
After that and when no one was around, you’d gently call the two dogs from your shadow to keep you company when you felt lonely. The two had become your constant companions and they were your sole comfort that you hid from everyone, too afraid of what might happen if others found out. Not only that, but you quickly found out they sustained themselves on cursed energy, so they were expert helpers in dispatching the creepy cursed spirits that strayed too close to your living quarters.
The rest of your childhood passes in mostly a blur of the same thing day after day, but it all comes to a screeching halt on the day you reach maturity. You should’ve seen this coming as you were not your fated baby brother whose future as heir to your family’s dynasty was already foretold. Neither were you your eldest sister who, if rumor was to be believed, was set to marry a rich man twice her age (you were eternally grateful to be spared that fate). No, you were but the neglected middle child and thus it shouldn’t have been surprising when your father arrived in a whirlwind, only to announce your sudden and indefinite departure to a shrine you had never heard the name of before leaving just as abruptly.
Yet somehow, you sat there in muted shock as the servants assigned to you tittered and worried over what was going to happen to them when you left. You were about to undergo the biggest, most frightening change of your life and they only worried about themselves. Nevertheless, you were packed up without further delay and undertook the arduous journey closer to the capital of Kyoto. Thankfully it was mostly uneventful save your horse throwing a shoe at one point and you arrived at the shrine safely.
The first thing you noticed upon arrival was that the shrine itself, while well-maintained, was simplistic in design. Three large, oblong buildings were surrounded by towering, droopy trees that seemed to diminish their overall presence. It was only after you alighted from your horse that you realized how hushed and muted the other miko scurrying around distracted with their duties were. It doesn’t take long before you realize you’re having a bit of trouble breathing from the rancid energy swirling around the grounds, but it was too late to turn back as your escorts were already long gone by the time you even considered the option. With a sigh, you hike your makeshift bag higher on your shoulder and approach a group of three miko dressed just like you.
They don’t look up from their sweeping of the stone entryway and you clear your throat softly to get their attention. Simultaneously they all stop working to look up at you and you’re struck by how haggard they appear and you can’t help but wonder what your father was thinking in sending you here. Perhaps he wasn’t thinking of your well-being at all, which would be quite typical of him.
“Uhm, hello.” You offer a traditional greeting and they return it automatically to which elicits a warm smile from you. Maybe this won’t be so bad after all. “I’ve just arrived, I don’t know if you received word of my arrival…” You trailed off when you glimpse their worried expressions and you stand there awkwardly until one of them nods and in a quiet monotone says, “Follow me, I’ll show you where to go.”
After a quick, dizzying tour around the shrine you’re taken to meet the priests. They come out of the shrine itself and you offer proper greetings. Something about them makes you uneasy and their eyes linger a little too long for your comfort, but you shake it off as simply not being accustomed to being scrutinized by strangers. Perhaps they were just curious about your cursed technique since they had been given prior notice that you were a shaman. One of the reasons you were sent to this shrine specifically was because it was comprised of others who could wield cursed techniques of their own. Of course, your father had no idea what your cursed technique was, but you knew that in his arrogance he would assume that no child of his would be bereft of such power.
It’s only later, when you’re tucked under your musty bed in the common room with the other girls that you hear a few of them whispering to each other. You can hear them quite clearly but wished to the gods you couldn’t since every sentence they mutter leaves you colder than the last. “She won’t last.” “They’ll eat her alive.” “That’s if she’s lucky.” “Her parents must hate her.” You pull the paltry bed covering over your head to block out their comments and try not to think about how much you already miss your actual bed and home, shivering until you finally fall into a fitful sleep.
Over the next couple of days, you quickly realize the cursed energy that has gathered is vaguely suffocating and ever present. Not only that, but you had the distinct feeling you were being watched, that something had its eyes on you; waiting. When you ventured outside to do your own shared chores and you understood why those around you were so worried. Maybe this was why the other miko were so on edge every time you saw them scurrying around to do their daily tasks before nightfall, but you had to admit to curiosity over what this energy was that seemed so pervasive around the shrine. It was cursed energy that belonged to someone, that much you could discern. Was it one of the priests? You had tried to ask once, but the group of girls had pretended not to hear you and the broom handle felt abrasive in your grip when you tried not to take it personally.
A week passes quickly and you’ve barely just settled into a routine when you’re approached by one of the senior girls that doled out the chores every morning. She was flanked by two other girls that clung closer to her than necessary, all three of them wearing pinched smiles. It was on the tip of your tongue to ask what was wrong when she spoke in a quick, hushed tone.
“You have been tasked with the patrol tonight.” You gave the three of them a genuinely baffled look. “What does that mean?” As you soon found out, it meant that you were going to be responsible for walking the grounds and dispelling the weaker cursed spirits that seem to crop up like bugs. The expressions on the girls’ faces linger in the back of your mind and you couldn’t help but wonder why they looked so unhappy. Was it because this was a test? You did come from one of the most powerful jujutsu clans and this temple was renowned for refining noble young ladies of considerable shamanistic power, and you hoped you wouldn’t disappoint them.
Your worry was nothing when that very night you almost felt like you were finally doing something useful as you exorcised the creepy little things that tried to sneak their way into the cracks of the outbuildings. You say almost because no matter how much you tried, you couldn’t summon your canine companions.
It wasn’t for lack of trying, going so far as to call out to them like you would any other beloved pet. You even attempted to entice them from your shadow with the generous shaking of a juicy cut up corpse of a cursed spirit to no avail. With a frustrated sigh of resignation, you used the other tools and tricks you had at your disposal instead; thankful that you weren’t at least reliant on those fickle dogs of yours.
The first few weeks of this go without trouble and you settle into an uncomfortable but familiar routine, but one night it’s almost as if even the very air itself hesitated when you stepped onto the dewy lawn to begin your nightly vigil. You were so close to finishing your first loop around the dimly lit grounds when you heard it and froze. The faint sound of whimpering is unmistakable and you tip your head to the side as you try to pinpoint the direction from where it came. The pervasive cursed energy dulled your other senses considerably and despite how much you had tried to become accustomed to it, it was still difficult to concentrate. Inching cautiously towards the noise, the culprit becomes clear through the darkened copse of trees in front of you and you can vaguely make out the diminutive body of a child. With a quiet gasp you rush over to it without thinking, not realizing for a single moment it could be a trap-
The curse swipes out with a screaming, high-pitched wail and you scramble back with your hands over your ears only to barely miss getting sliced open with those sinuous, wicked claws attached to one of its hands. The other flings the small child against the tree so hard you hear the wet cracking and know it's dead on impact, but you don’t have time to mourn a life taken too soon. It’s already found new prey in the form of you and you realize with growing horror it’s cut off any retreat you may have had back to the safety of the shrine. It’s so much stronger than the weak little curses you’re used to dealing with as you frantically try to get your bearings; your ears still ringing. In desperation you call for your dogs again, your voice loud as you hope maybe someone from the shrine will hear you but you know it’s useless. You’d be dead before anyone could help you and your dogs don’t seem to care if you die either; refusing to come out.
So you do the only thing you can think of and run, darting into the utter blackness of the forest.
Cursed energy swirls around you and it is stifling, continually making it difficult to breathe as you’re chased through the woods. The crashing of tree branches as their brittle bark bounces off one another before falling onto the forest floor is deafening behind you. You can’t tell if it’s the pervasive suffocation you’ve grown accustomed to in the past few weeks that linger in the area or if it’s emanating from the monstrous creature on your heels.
A glint of white catches your attention from the corner of your eye but you can’t look – won’t look – trusting that whatever it is in the darkness is uninterested in you this night; your legs pumping faster as you race towards the unknown. As you move deeper into the forest, the malevolent energy grows even more oppressive and you’re desperately taking in air with every flagging step, already starting to get dizzy. The other miko had whispered of a shrine on the other side of the wilderness that separated the clearing of your own shrine, but your hope was wearing thin until you saw the break in the trees.
Sweat trickles down your spine and you can smell the rot of the creature as it reaches you and makes you want to vomit so you hold your breath and pray fervently to the god of this shrine.
The demon dogs burst suddenly from your shadow, all snarls and sharp teeth. They snatch the curse mere inches away from your face in their jaws and they go flying across the temple grounds in a tangled, violent heap. The distinct sound of bone and sinew snapping is loud in the silence, only punctuated by your heaving breaths as you lay there and stare up at the sky with wide, unblinking eyes as the thought etches itself into your brain.
You almost died.
You’re out of breath and you flop your trembling arms and legs outward to rest your already aching muscles, perversely mimicking a starfish as you try to calm down. At least it would’ve been a beautiful day to die, the inky darkness of the sky scattered with thousands of brilliant little stars; the moon casting a cool, luminous glow you hadn’t been able to appreciate under the thick canopy of trees. The relief of your survival and the beauty of the night made you feel poetic somehow, and you briefly mourned that you didn’t have anything to write with so you could capture these fleeting emotions.
The dogs are still noisily munching on the curse somewhere vaguely to your left when that moonlight view is blocked by a figure swathed in a simple kimono, and you find yourself peering up at a distinct double set of crimson eyes that are staring back down at you impassively. What air in your lungs you had painstakingly gathered wooshes out of you with one breath and the mikos’ dire warnings all come crashing over you all at once.
It had taken you but a moment, but even without the mikos’ rumor-mongering you would have immediately recognized the figure above you from the painting scrolls and fear settles like a cold rock in the pit of your stomach.
You find yourself staring up at Ryomen Sukuna himself and realize you are going to die tonight.

A/N: Thank you for reading chapter one! I headcanon that cursed energy during the Heian period was more like wild fae magic in that it was unruly and manifested cursed techniques in different ways than the established inherited techniques we see today. A lot of early cursed techniques pull from Japanese History and a lot of it does deal in unpredictable, wild magic. The legends and myths the original ten shadows technique is based on is why I chose to write it this way. ♥

We don't talk about Julieta
Garish' version of 'We don't talk about Bruno'
There's only lyrical part, maybe I'll make a сhoreography/what happens on the screen later, but no promises as I don't really know how to put everything down
[Pepa:]
We don't talk about Julieta, no, no, no
We don't talk about Julieta, but
It was at Mirabel's ceremony
[Félix:]
It was your sister's ceremony
[Pepa:]
We were getting ready
And there wasn't anything wrong
[Félix:]
Nothing could be wrong
[Pepa:]
Julieta walks out with an angry face
[Félix:]
Thunder
[Pepa:]
You're telling the story or am I?
[Félix:]
I'm sorry, mi vida, go on
[Pepa:]
Julieta says, "I won't leave her, no matter what"
[Félix:]
Why had she lie to us?
[Pepa:]
In doing so she broke our hearts
[Félix:]
Abuela gets explanation
[Pepa:]
The next day we found her nowhere
[Félix:]
What a upsetting story, but anyway
[Pepa & Félix:]
We don't talk about Julieta, no, no, no
We don't talk about Julieta
[Camilo:]
Hey, I loved the sound of her planned steaming
I can never hear her muttering or mumbling
I can tell her food was always best
Hey, it's good!
It's a nice lift with a skill so valuable
Always left the village and me comfortable
Grinding with the passion that we couldn't understand
Do you understand?
[Dolores:]
Never is blaring, always in the work
Talks in a caring, and gets to the dark
Yeah, she sees your fear and knows what to do
[Pepa & Camilo:]
We don't talk about Julieta, no, no, no
[Dolores:]
No, no
[Pepa & Camilo:]
We don't talk about Julieta
[Dolores:]
We don't talk about Julieta
[Townsperson 1:]
She knew my fish would die, did nothing at all
[Ensemble:]
No, no
[Townsperson 2:]
She said I'll grow a gut, and just how she said
[Ensemble:]
No, no
[Townsperson 3:]
She didn't give me food, just look at my head
[Ensemble:]
Hey!
No, no
Your fate is sealed when Julieta's jury complete
[Luisa:]
She told me that she loves me so much
Just like a mother should love her child
She told me my strength would launch
More than my mind can imagine
[Abuela Alma:]
Óye, Mariano's on his way
[Agustin:]
She told me I won't be alone
That there won't be a capstone
That we'll be together and ever
It's like I see her now
[Luisa:]
Hey sis, can you stay out of this?
[Agústin:]
It's like I can see him now, I wish I could see her now
[Isabela:]
Um, Julieta
Yeah, about my mama
I really need to know about Julieta
Give me the truth behind it all, Julieta
[Felix:]
Mija, your boyfriend's here
[Abuela Alma & Dolores:]
Time for dinner
[Dolores:]
Never is blaring, always in the work
[Pepa:]
It was at Mirabel's ceremony
[Félix:]
It was your sister's ceremony
[Luisa:]
She told me that she loves me so much
[Dolores:]
Talks in a caring, and gets to the dark
[Pepa:]
We were getting ready and nothing was wrong
[Félix:]
Nothing could go wrong
[Luisa and Isabela:]
Just like a mother should love her child
[Dolores:]
Yes, she sees your fear
[Pepa:]
Julieta walks out with an angry face
[Luisa:]
She told me my strength would launch
[Dolores:]
Knows what to do
[Félix:]
Thunder
[Pepa:]
You're telling the story or am I?
[Félix:]
I'm sorry mi vida go on
[Luisa:]
More than my mind can imagine
[Abuela Alma:]
Óye, Mariano's on his way
[Pepa:]
Julieta says, "I won't leave her, no matter what"
[Félix and Isabela:]
Why had she lie to us?
[Dolores:]
Never is blaring, always in the workk
[Luisa:]
She told me that she loves me so much, just like a mother should love her child
[Agustin:]
She told me I won't be alone, that there won't be a capstone
[Pepa:]
In doing so, she broke our hearts
[Félix:]
Abuela gets explanation
[Dolores:]
Talks in a caring, and gets to the dark
[Agustin:]
That we'll be together and ever, and ever...
[Dolores:]
Yeah, she sees your fear and knows what to do
[Pepa:]
The next day we found her nowhere
[Félix:]
What an upsetting story
[Agustin, Luisa, Mirabel and Isabela:]
And I'm fine, and I'm fine, and I'm fine, I'm fine
[Ensemble:]
He's here
Don't talk about Julieta
[Isabela:]
Okay, what the hell does it mean?
[Ensemble:]
Not a word about Julieta
[Isabela:]
Maybe I shouldn't have brought Julieta...

QSMP x XCOM(2) playlist!
It is subject to change and I will try update it when I add new music. And someday it'll get cover art. For now, though, the track listing as is. It's kinda in 2 sections (songs providing fic titles and then vibe songs). You will note that who I associate things with and who gets the lyrics as their titles don't often match, and I am extremely biased towards my faves, and even more biased to characters I've actually written in this au.
Also of course music is subjective and my analysis is not the only analysis a commenter on ao3 just asked me when I showed them the playlist so I thought I'd share it with everyone.
Each title in the whys also has a link to a youtube version for people without spotify <3
Oh Darling - Plug In Stereo ft. Cady Groves Title music for 'Til Hell Starts To Freeze. Tonally it's massively off track for most of the series, but it's cute and it's fun and I love it.
So just take a chance, try to hold my hand I swear I’d never let go Just let me know if you’d be my man
2. The Call - 2WEI, League of Legends, and Louis Leibfried From the Regret Arc animatic. You know the one. It provides the title to 'Hold The Last Burning Ember', and just generally has very vibes. This is particularly true of any and all of the characters who were involved with the initial invasion. Due to the association with the Regret Arc, I do associate it a little more heavily with the Brazilians, though it's also very appropriate for Philza, BBH, Mariana and, weirdly enough now I think, Spreen.
For the beat and the broken For the lost and forsaken Let us never surrender May we rise unto the call
3. This Will End - The Oh Hellos Title provider for 'The Kind of Love of Which I Speak'. In different places it has the vibes of various different characters - notably Pac and Roier, also kinda Fit but the vibes are all off for him. It's a song which discusses being afraid of being alive, of giving love and never getting it back, of being passively suicidal and welcoming death if it comes but still praying for an ending where you love and are loved in return. There's many ways to read any song and I'm getting more into this one than the others for some reason, but to me it's a song about choosing to keep going when it hurts, to keep loving when you're empty, to see a world with nothing beautiful left and to still believe beauty can be attained. It goes pain-hope-confusion-pain-hope, and idk I just like their music and this one vibes a lot with the whole thing where for a lot of the main characters in this au (and a lot of me writing it) it's not so much about defeating the aliens and winning the war as it is allowing severely hurting people to heal, and those who never had a chance to discover what love is, and to build their families for themselves. A good one just for the vibes of the sort of angst I write.
I can hope how this will end With every line, a comedy That we can learn to love without demand With unreserved honesty
4. Sing Me To Sleep - Alan Walker One of a handful of songs I associate with XCOM2 over before anything else. Lyrics from this song are used mostly-consistently for the entire Mike being kidnapped arc - everything except the bit I wrote way back when with Philza and Fit - from capture to rescue. I am reasonably sure it's about someone dying but eeeeeeh only MCD are people who perma-die in canon! And some of them even get to escape! Because of how I used it I heavily associate this one specifically with Tazercraft, but it does have vibes for a fair few of the more tragic or co-dependent groupings. Romantic or otherwise. Really it should be the memory egg's song, but it isn't. There's also some... darker reads with one of the characters, and how the story ends.
Remember me now, time cannot erase I can hear your whispers in my mind I've become what you cannot embrace Our memory will be my lullaby
5. Duerme Pequeño - Coro San Agustin Again not a super appropriate one atm, but was used for the fic with Trump. It's a Spanish lullaby. I cannot give you a lyrics snip for this one because my Spanish is non-existent and I can neither work out how to find them nor type them by ear. But like. Lullabies are just generally good once the kids are involved in the story.
6. The Only Hope For Me Is You - My Chemical Romance A classic, really. The entire Danger Days album is not inappropriate to this au, and picking out just a few pieces was extremely hard. This was one - specifically it is the song I associate with Cellbit and Felps, though many other groups could use it too. Though, more generally, it's Cellbit about any of the characters he considers friends, doubly so for family, and even himself as he tries to be better in a world that doesn't want to let him. Provides title for 'People Die In Purifying Flame' and also 'Because You're The Only Hope For Me'. Some of the lyrics are a little graphic in context, but the first verse really is hard on the whole everyone dead thing. And just generally Cellbit not doing... great when on his own. But also striving for a better future for the people he loves even if it means destroying himself to save them.
And its partly that last line that makes it Felps not anyone else.
If that's the best that I could be? Than I'd be another memory Can I be the only hope for you? Because you're the only hope for me And if we can't find where we belong We'll have to make it on our own Face all the pain and take it on Because the only hope for me is you alone
7. Anything For You - Ludo Generic title I know, but this is the song I was thinking of when I titled 'Anything For You'. Or rather, the one stuck in my head on a loop. Vibes are very bouncy compared to the rest of this playlist, and it really is any of the combos who are friends or partners or other in this au. It's not... suuuuper fitting but I like it and I used it so it's here. Far better for Happy Ending AU, but frankly both of the aus are heavy on the community as saving the world and only combined are we strong and the best reward is to grow old with your loved ones.
Anything for you All of this is true But the best story that I could ever tell Is the one where I am growing old with you
8. Things We Lost In The Fire - Bastille Is it really a playlist without some Bastille? Look this is literally any group who knew each other pre-invasion - Favela 5, Mystery Twins (though theirs dates back longer), Philza & Fit, BBH & Foolish & Maxo, The French... Provides the title for 'The Future's In Our Hands And We Will Never Be The Same Again', a fic with Mike and Cellbit. And I think it's especially fitting for them, at least out of their combo of 5, because sparks do fly a bit when they interact, no matter the care. I also think it's really good for Bagi in this au? Especially the little bit I've picked out here.
I read them all one day When loneliness came and you were away Oh they told me nothing new But I love to read the words you used
9. The Sound Of Silence - Disturbed Another XCOM2 over QSMP song, largely thanks to the fanmade trailer below (er, violence, explosions, gunsfire, yk)
youtube
Some of the footage in it is XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the game to which XCOM2 is a sequel. But, yeah, song I very associate just with the game and the whole thing. If I haaaaad to attach this to a character it would probably be Philza for... reasons I don't think I've talked about anywhere? Him or Foolish for very different reasons.
Hello darkness, my old friend I've come to talk with you again Because a vision softly creeping Left its seeds while I was sleeping And the vision that was planted in my brain Still remains Within the sound of silence
10. Nemo - Nightwish TBH, I just like it. If I had to pin something down, one answer is Cellbit and another is the three demons. I think I'd specifically pick out Tina for this one. She's not really someone I'd associate with this sort of music, but she's certainly the one who has buried herself the furthest. She would like redemption and she'd like it yesterday, please. Unfortunately, she's also a demonic assassin so... Good luck to her. Really it is just a very cool song, though.
My flower, withered between The pages two and three The once and forever bloom gone with my sins
11. Battle Scars - Paradise Fears (Acoustic Version) Honestly the whole song is great. It's really not anyone specific, but it has very heavy vibes for the whole group. Literally everyone hits beats here. Everyone's fucked up and a fuck up, and they're still gonna try and save their world and drag everyone else along with them gdi.
I'll carry you home No, you're not, alone Keep marching on This. Is. Worth. fighting for You know we've, all got battle scars
12. Plant Life - Owl City My brainworm of the year so far. I'm not really sure what to say about this other than it gives me an extremely specific image and I thiiiiink it's Slimecicle
I've been longing for daisies to push through the floor And I wish plant life would grow all around me So, I won't feel dead anymore So, I won't feel dead anymore
13. Defeated - Bad Suns Again, another song which really could be anyone. And I don't really... have a lot to pick apart on it. So, just enjoy!
I don't wanna be all alone and defeated Who can I be besides me? 'Cause I hate it I don't wanna be left alone, uncompleted, no I don't wanna be all alone and defeated, no
14. Keep You Safe - JJ Heller A lullaby! For all the little eggies I haven't written yet, and their fiercely protective parents. And the gently protective parents. And all the tios and tias who look after them, too. For the 'younger' eggies it's needed, for the 'older' ones maybe it's just good to have someone chase away the awful for you. Either way, their parents will keep the monsters away now. There's nothing to fear in their dreams (except that the monsters who haunt them and want to steal them are very, very real...)
My love is a light Driving away all of your fear So don’t be afraid Remember I made a promise to keep you safe
15. Saints An' Sinners - Whitesnake IDK this again just has vibes. There's something here with Tina once again, but also it really is kinda. There's a whole mess of people in the Order, many of them having done terrible things, many of them having done wonderful things. There's something about the irreverent reverence the song gives to higher powers that just. IDK there's something of the vibes of the group in the tone of the song. A combination of saints and sinners - many of them being both depending who you ask - in a defiance against the order. Given a lot of this song about being thankful sounds sarcastic to my ear oops lol
Saints an' sinners Priests an' thieves Saints an' sinners Priests an' thieves For what we are about to receive May the Lord make us truly thankful
16. Glitter & Gold - Barns Courtney Not sure what to say here. It is just a good song about like... 'I am flesh and I am bone - arise, ting ting, like glitter and gold. I've got fire in my soul, rise up, ting ting, like glitter'. It's a call of life to life, demanding humanity wake up and come forth. Marching song of the order, perhaps, with flesh on their bones and fire in their souls and demanding an answer and demanding the world goes on.
Do you walk in the valley of kings? Do you walk in the shadow of men Who sold their lives to a dream? Do you ponder the manner of things In the dark? The dark, the dark, the dark
17. Enough To Go By - Vienna Teng I am just... this song. Separation and rejoining and its love love love but love might not be enough to save anyone, but you're trying anyway. It's just... Every relationship in this series that hurts. It's Felps and his family, it's Tazercraft, it's Wilbur and Philza, it's Fit and basically anyone, it's Foolish and BBH and Maxo, it's Maxo and Dan, it's Spreen and Missa and Roier in any combination, Aypierre and Maxo, Aypierre and Antoine... The list goes on and on and on of characters who by one definition or another love each other to the world and back and it's never enough. It's coming back after seperation and asking am I good enough yet? I changed have you? I cannot force you to live but please, please, survive. This song is like. The song form of the gentler angst I write.
Would it be enough to go by If we could sail on the wind in the dark Cut those chains in the middle of the night That had you pulled apart Would it be enough to go by If there's moonlight pulling the tide Would it be enough to live on If my love couldn't keep you alive
18. The Fighter - Paradise Fears Again not really sure here, it's just... It's here. It just is. I have nothing clever to say this time. There's a lot of songs some are like that.
Now I do it for the Kids, people said never had a shot Never really caring if tomorrows gonna come or not We're all just a life that fates taking a chance on But this ain't our last dance, so baby dance on
19. Save Yourself, I'll Hold Them Back - My Chemical Romance Not everyone believes they can actually succeed. TBH, most of them don't believe there's a chance of victory, but everyone in the Order is still ready and willing and wanting to raise hell. Raise hell, try change the world, and more than anything else grab their friends' hands and run away together. It's especially true of some of the more... reckless sorts - Roier, Baghera, Foolish, Fit, Etoiles, backstory Philza, etc
I'll tell you well how the story ends Where the good guys die and the bad guys win (who cares?) This ain't about all the friends you made But the graffiti they write on your grave
20. Lady of Worlds - Miracle of Sound Look I haven't played the game this is a song about, but I still very much appreciate it. It's not the vibes for Jaiden, but it's not-not her vibes, you know? Same for Bagi. It's definitely something, though. Maybe you could argue Mouse? You could probably argue mouse.
Time and space on the frailest veil Frozen cold in the static Bloody blades under hatred's sails Tearing out through the fabric
21. Until The End - Breaking Benjamin Confession time - this song I know from Naruto AMVs in my childhood. It really could be any of the characters, but because they are my boys we're handing it to Tazercraft. Yes, both of them. Mostly backstory but frankly neither of them is great. As I said it could quite honestly be any of the characters at times, but I think they are the two who fit it most consistently. Something about there's nothing and you have nothing but you keep going anyway because you refuse to let them win even if you kind of want to die.
Why give up, why give in? It's not enough, it never is So I will go on until the end We've become desolate It's not enough, it never is But I will go on until the end
22. Go Get Your Gun - The Dear Hunter Something something violence something something. I don't think this one needs a whole lot of analysis to explain? The violence has been going on for so long of course it's treated with a combination of exasperation and irreverence.
Go get your gun, get your gun And lets find out what it does Shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot We haven't won, and if we win And if the morning light sets in We've cheated fate again
23. Until The Day Is Done - R.E.M. It is known to be a song about the state of America (in 2008...), but it's also a very good song for just. The weary hopelessness of the situation the characters find themselves in.
As we've written our stories to entertain These notions of glory and bull market gain The teleprompt flutters, the power surge brings An easy speed message falls into routine
24. Laughter Lines - Bastille There's a good number of characters who knew each other and were separated by circumstances, to whom this can apply. But it also can apply to many others, the promise of the chance to grow old, and to do it together. Maybe not in the same place, but circling around and around each other. And like... a lot of them need that a lot of the time. Just pick yourself a ship - romantic or otherwise - and give it a go.
"I'll see you in the future when we're older And we are full of stories to be told Crossin' my heart and hope to die I'll see you with your laughter lines"
25. Working - I Fight Dragons I'll confess, I just wanted something from this album. A couple could have worked, but I liked this one best. It's disillusionment in the current system, whether that be irl or in the au series. It's not really a specific character, but more just the vibe of those who turn away from the Federation not for a specific moment of violence but a simple desire of something more, for something greater. While she's learnt more horrors since Jaiden somewhat falls into this catagory. She didn't leave because of horrors she discovered, she left her cushy admin job because it was just never quite... right. At first it was just a quiet 'this is wrong', and then she saw the horrors once she found other people and it was all peeled back...
Lie to me 'cause honestly I don't believe that you believe The lies you tried to feed to me Like keep your head down Happy isn't free
26. Barricade - Stars If you've done my music rambles before, you know that this is my Fit & Philza song. However in this AU where they've known each other for a very long time - on and off - it somehow is stronger. Apply the hate to hating the system they fight, and the love to them having been a couple in all but name back before the wasteland was sealed and they were forcibly separated, and there we go. It's so good here where they used to fight together, but Philza hung up his sword when the trauma got too much - even now he's support - while Fit went in deeper and harder and more violent. They're still very close, of course, but... Well... It's not what it was before. Ask me to ramble about them. I've written very little but god these two.
In Bermondsey in Burberry, you held me at the barricade, the pigs arrived with tear gas And I wept at the mistakes we made We stalked the streets like animals And danced as windows shattered For our island, for the thrill of it, for everything that mattered
27. Back To The Start - Michael Schulte I don't think it takes a genius to work out why some - many - of the characters would like to reset the timeline and go back to something simpler. I can't decide who this works best for, but probably for someone who was genuinely happy before things got complicated - Maxo, the Quackities, Bagi (even if before was a very long time ago for her)... I think especially, especially Bagi. She's not as stuck as she is in canon, but... She'd still give anything to be ten again and be playing in the woods with her brother.
If I could go, go into my heart And search for all the places I left the spark To find a way, way back to the olden days Before it started falling apart
28. To Them These Streets Belong - Rise Against Again, another how can I not band. I don't have much amazing reasoning here (and might add more from the album some time), just... go listen and you'll probably get it. This song is angry and they are too.
Head hung from shame we bear a weight That brings me to a crawl These years of longing tell decades Of unanswered calls For a change, 'cause everyday we slip and fall Kicked while we're down, our fists clench into ball
29. No Sound But The Wind - Editors And back onto the sad stuff. I don't mean that to be disparaging, but it's true. Very heavy vibes for before they got the airship together. The group was much smaller then, constantly on the move and on foot about it too. Even then, it's a quiet reflection on the state of everything. There aren't many parent-child groups prior to the Eggs, and the Eggs don't remember the before, but... yeeeeah... Sad vibes of the world, sung to someone you want to but cannot protect.
We walk through the ash And the charred remains of our country Keep an eye on my back I'll keep an eye on the road
30. The Beginning After The End - Stars This is mostly a music piece, so you get all the lyrics. Please enjoy it. The sound like a heartbeat building up into music, slowly growing and growing and growing and growing as more things are added, as more joins in. Dropping with a low beat, following through into something a little angrier before gaining back the dance, now merged, less bright but still continuing on. Life in the face of disaster, hope at the end of it all, there will be a morning to doubt what you've done, there will be an end and the music will only get there together. You'll fight and you'll fail and you'll get up and keep going and in the end... Will it be worth it? Well, you just have to get there to answer that, don't you?
Oh, the blood and the treasure And then losing it all The time that we wasted And the place where we fall Will we wake in the morning and know what it was all for? Up in our bedroom After the war
31. Oh, What A Life - American Authors God I don't know what to say here, just every lyric. The talk of burying your soul, forgetting who you are, fields of bodies and a longing for the past, and yet no matter how long it's been or how lost you feel you laugh and you cry and you sing, because you're human, no matter how burnt out you are, no matter the sins you've done, no matter the trauma and the trauma and the trauma and the fear you are still only human and perhaps it's with hysteria that you laugh, with reckless abandon that you dance, but you're laughing and dancing all the same. Maybe you don't accept it, not yet, but perhaps the first step to believing it'll be okay is to say it's fucking shit right now.
But I tried so hard, and we tried so hard And it's a long long road, that you told me so Yeah I tried so hard, to forget where we are And all we do is laugh and we sing
32. Angel With A Shotgun - The Cab It could be many things. This song could be so many things, it could be innocence lost because you're needed, it could be a meditation on holiness and unholiness and the meaninglessness of the distinction in times of crisis, it could just be that sometimes to survive you fuck shit up. But's it's literally called angel with a shotgun and Philza is right fucking there with, you guessed it, a motherfucking shotgun.
Get out your guns, battles begun Are you a saint, or a sinner? If loves a fight, than I shall die With my heart on a trigger
33. Lucky Ones - Lana Del Ray It is, technically, true that the characters in the Order are the lucky ones. They survived the invasion, dodged the kidnappings, escaped the cities and the aliens don't even pretend it's a paradise anymore because people are just used to it. Doesn't mean it feels like it, though. It's a love song, so take your pick of couples, and maybe it's actually sad about love being hard or rare but maybe you can turn it to all the deaths and the horror and the violence and maybe, just maybe, this time they'll get out alive.
Let's get out of this town, baby, we're on fire Everyone around here seems to be going down, down, down If you stick with me, I can take you higher and higher It feels like all of our friends are lost Nobody's found, found, found
34. Polaroid Picture - Frank Turner This was added to the list with the thought of Forever's office and the photographs on the wall, and the clinging to the memories of his friends who have been torn away from him.. If you'd rather not think about him... Well, there's plenty of other characters with close relationships who would do anything to hold onto little memories. And there's plenty of chances that those memories will be all they have left, soon enough...
Let go of the little distractions Hold close to the ones that you love Because we won't all be here this time next year So while you can take a picture of us
35. The Sun Is Also A Warrior - Leslie Fish The Federation does offer global peace, this is true. Under the single government no war continues, via methodology of harshly suppressing life and freedom. And, just as the man in the song learns, perhaps, perhaps, it is not worth it.
"Go rebuild now," the old god said "Feed the living and bury the dead And remember this when you speak of war And think upon what is worth fighting for"
36. That's Okay - The Hush Sound I could say this is about the handful of dead characters, or about the Eggs who have been created and mistreated and abused and just want each other and to be safe, but no. When I listen I don't think of anyone who is actually unloved, I don't think of anyone who will be forgotten - I think of Tazercraft and their inability to believe anyone but each other could ever love them. This was originally the last song on the list, I've just been adding a few more since. I should probably put it back to last but eh.
And when you're gone, will they say your name? And when you're gone, will they love you the same? If not, that's okay.
37. Way Down We Go - KAELO Not a song I know well, but I got it on shuffle and thought the vibes fit. There's nothing clever here, that's it. I've listened to it maybe twice I don't have strong thoughts.
Oh, 'cause they will run you down, down 'til the dark Yes and they will run you down, down 'til you fall And they will run you down, down 'til you go Yeah, so you can't crawl no more
38. Happier - Marshmello, Bastille Again, not one I know well, just vibes. Lyrics wise it could easily be Fit and Spreen, but just listen and vibe and enjoy.
Then only for a minute I want to change my mind 'Cause this just don't feel right to me I wanna raise your spirits I want to see you smile but Know that means I'll have to leave
39. Afraid Of The Dark - Chef'Special Recommended by rabbit-harpist! This song gives me different character vibes in different places, but largely Baghera, Pac, Mike, and Missa. Of all combos. The idea of trying to face your fear and make friends with it is very Missa thing to do, I feel. But the Pac and Mike is the bit about doing better and the utter wreck of either and both of them's mental health, even compared to everyone else. It's still mostly Missa to me. He's doing his best and his best is worth doing and he might be doing it scared and he might want the comfort but gdi he's trying. And Baghera... Poor Baghera, you'll see eventually.
I am still afraid of the dark Even though there's a sky full of stars I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on the run Can you leave a little light on?
40. The London Air Raids - Vian Izak Once again recommended by rabbit-harpist. There's so many pairings - friends and romantic - this one could be. I know Rabbit thinks of Phil/Missa and yes that's a very good one here! I have also deemed this one Felps vibes. With, quite frankly, any of his friends. Frankly it's anything soft but angsty. And, frankly, there's a lot of that in this au. It's like. The vibe. Ripping out splinters and all that.
But I know that I'm safe here with you 'Cause we made it through everything, the old and the new Just wake me up when all this is over Wake me up and tell me it's not true
Honourable Mention: How Far We've Come - Matchbox Twenty Recommended by guestcom2 over on ao3 and they are correct in that this song should, by all rights, be on the playlist. It is nearly perfect. It is however too ingrained in my own mind as associated with a LARP I used to play in for me ever to be able to project anything else onto it. Sorry. >.<
Well I, believe, it all, is coming to an end Oh well, I guess, we're gonna pretend, Let's see how far we've come Let's see how far we've come
