🦊Culture Shock🐰 A (possible) Jungkook Series

Summary: Jungkook starts a podcast with his best friend who is a foreigner to discuss different topics they were shocked culturally about.

Author's Note: Hello my beautiful readers! I am back! I graduated from university which is why I have been M.I.A! I am uninspired so that's why I haven't updated the Namjoon series. I was gonna post that I am accepting requests, however, whenever I post about it something happens.

Author's Note PS: If you guys would like, I can make it a series, but if it doesn't get any engagement I'll just leave it as it is. It's based on what I think my interactions which JK would be if we were best friends (very delulu of me, but, we all are a little). If you'd like to be tagged, interact with this. 🦊: Right and it was very entertaining to other people to listen to us talk about these things, and honestly? I need to pay my college debt.

Jungkook: So they have a lot of things to talk about.

Jungkook: So because of that, they showed me reggaeton music, and OH MY GOD.

🦊: *laughs away from the mic*

Jungkook: I remember the first time you showed me the translation of it and I was like "뭐야!?! 이거 허용되나?!"

🦊: *laughs*

Jungkook: I remember the song too, it was "Delincuente" by Tokischa.

🦊: His Spanish is cute.

Jungkook: *long pause* Who?

🦊: YOU!

Jungkook: Oh *snickers* Stop. Okay! It too-

🦊: It was shocking for you.

Jungkook: For sure. The first lines were "Tokischa, you fuck or not?". I was-

Jungkook: And it got like worse over the course of it.

🦊: But like was it REALLY shocking?

Jungkook: Well, it was the openness of it. Like, her talking about how she wants to be filled with "milk".

I just came here to say if I CATCH yall defending Doyoung out here it's blocked on fucking site. I need yall Ncitzens and Kpop stans to STAND THE FUCK UP.

Out here posting pictures of ugly ass snowmen with MCDONALDS BS. GFTOFH. I saw this yesterday but Koreaboo pissed me off and these tweets of these fucking weirdos made me mad. So imma talk about it here.

For example, New Jeans they have a contract with Coca-Cola, and they just had a meal with McDonald's. That I completely understand. But ACTIVELY spending money to McDonald's and Starbucks and posting it!?!? Nah, you gotta go. Idc who you are. I don't care you have godly teir vocals you're done. It's not that hard to TRY to do something good. I am actively avoiding Starbucks, McDonald's, actively staying up to date on what's going on in the world. It's not just Palestine. It's Congo. Sudan. Yemen. If I can do all of that work a job. Go to school. Watch One Piece (an anime that actively talks about corrupt governments, genocide, war, propaganda, etc). Kim fucking Doyoung and other kpop idols can do it too. They just don't care and want to keep rolling their checks (he probably need to with that pocket change he probably getting). I AM BEGGING yall K-pop stans who still don't get it to STAND UP. Get a life. Read a fucking book. Because yall look dumb as hell, and I'm sorry, but my EGO MY PRIDE will not allow me to be dumb and continue to turn a blind eye when I know people are dying in a genocide. And for those of you saying "well just educate the idol." Baby, there's a reason why college is for adults, and it's not a mandatory if grown adults want to make the choice to learn they'll do it. These idols are GROWN it's not my job to educate adults who are older than me, and it shouldn't be your job either, especially FOR FREE.

Sinophobia affects all AAPI. Anyone who a racist thinks is Chinese is going to catch some of that. Or racists don't give a fuck what your ethnicity is and think we're all the same and will attack you anyways. This applies to all of Asia because not everyone fits a look that you think belongs to different parts of Asia & the Pacific. Even if someone is Chinese, they don't deserve it.

Y'alls sinophobia is showing by:

Bringing up the Chinese government every time someone is discussing anything related to China that has nothing to do with their government. Ex: Chinese language, culture, history, celebrities

Calling Asian people "Bing chilling" or commenting it under a video about China or with any Asian people in it just because John Cena said it. It's like calling Asian people "Squid Game" when that Korean show was popular.

"Ching chong" You know exactly what this is. Don't fucking play dumb.

Thinking "Made in China" is inferior despite the American companies being the one who made that decision and told the Chinese manufacturers to make it exactly to their specs. Prior to this, Americans thought Japanese products were inferior, but now y'all lap up Japanese products. Y'all are mad at the wrong people.

Rebranding Chinese beauty trends as Japanese or Korean.

Stealing beauty content from Chinese creators and labeling it as Japanese or Korean while leaving in whole ass Chinese characters. We can literally still see the Douyin or XiaoHongShu logo in the video you fucking stole. Bonus points if they're also speaking Chinese in the video.

Saying "You're so pretty, I thought you were Korean/Japanese." to a Chinese person.

Attacking literally any Asian person because you thought they were Chinese.

Attacking a Chinese person just because they're Chinese.

Bonus points if you attack an Asian person who is from a country you fetishize. *cough cough hardcore kpop/kdrama fans, koreaboos, weeboos*

Double the bonus points if you're a weeboo hating on China. Japan refuses to acknowledge their crimes against humanity to this day. If you want to look up what Japan did, I am warning you(HUGE TRIGGER WARNING), it will psychologically mess you up.

Triple the racist bonus points if you attack an Asian ethnic minority that was oppressed in the past or is currently being oppressed by the Chinese government.

This literally goes for any culture but hating on Chinese culture is not cute. There are beautiful parts of it. We can appreciate the beautiful parts of it.

Y'alls treatment of Chinese or any Asian restaurant/business. I have like a whole other post of this. We all know Asian food is fire. Don't complain about the food and then demand it to be free + request another serving. If you hate us and our food so much, why are you here asking for more?

Categorizing us into the "good" Asians and the "bad" Asians, like y'all could fucking tell the difference between us. This shows y'all are cool with discrimination too, which is just telling on yourselves.

Doing nothing as Congress mistreated the CEO of Tiktok, calling him "China man", saying China comes to Congress, despite him being from Singapore.

Getting mad at Asian people speaking out on sinophobia and all the anti-China propaganda. It's mostly just thinly veiled racism behind "I hate the Chinese government." You can hate the Chinese government, but you can also be racist at the same time. They can co-exist in you.

Nobody is stopping y'all from boycotting anything made in China, but I don't see anyone tossing out their iPhones.

Okay small POC discourse, but to take the opposite approach to the "using closed culture names when you arent of the culture is harmful" - respecting closed culture names and that they are special and belong to those in the culture is honestly incredibly helpful and healing to POC as well - at least AAPI.

I as a part hold a lot of internalized Model Minority shit and used to literally struggle to convince myself I am Asian despite being half Asian, having been raised in a moderately heavy Asian environment, and having the majority of my friends be Asian while ALSO being VP of the Asian Club in highschool, while being told by everyone I am "just asian" growing up and getting all the usual stigma and judgement, while being "definitely not white" looking.

Identifying as "basically white" kept me safe and palatable to white people which helped us maintain the Model Minority pressure we had which played into a lot of the generational cultural trauma and even a partial role in some of the Actual Trauma stuff.

I felt I was unclean and appropriative and cringe and weird to use names from my own culture because I was "basically white" - I was "just like all those cringe weebs, koreaboos, and sinoboos that just take the name and make me feel violated and uncomfortable and I didn't want to do what they are doing." Little did I know, the reason I felt that way was BECAUSE it felt like it was violating Asian cultures, which is something that - even in my Asian-denial phase - inherently knew was something I deeply identified with and treasured.

If not for a lot of the rhetoric around transfolk and DID parts taking up names of cultures they dont belong to did I realize where it stemmed from and why it was weird and uncomfortable.

Even more so, its only when I started realizing that those names are not for people out of the culture, did I realize that the fact that I CAN use it, that people of the culture don't think it is WRONG for me to use those names, did I realize really that

Hold on, I AM actually Asian. I AM NOT white. (And if you want to tell me "You ARE half white" there is a difference between White in blood and White™. No I will not explain it.)

The whole Asian-denial phase of my life (which was literally until the last two years or so) was EXTREMELY detrimental to my mental health and was an EXTREMELY healing thing to break down to actually let myself live AS my self and live in full acceptance of myself

So even if "its just a name, its harmless" is your stance, please consider that some people who have gone through their whole life with generational and cultural trauma - that respecting the sacred nature of the names from their culture can be extremely supportive, healing, and helpful to supporting them in thriving past surviving what they've gone through.

The different species of Weaboos

Yesterday, I was watching this video about all the different sub-types of weebs, and while I do agree on everything said there, I feel like James didn't go far enough down the rabbit hole. So I decided to list a few of the "kinds" of weaboos I have dealt with on the internet.

(James is an awesome guy btw. You should watch his videos)

Weaboos

Possibly the most famous one. These are people - usually American or from other Western or West-leaning countries - that are obsessed with Japanese culture for one reason or another; usually due to overexposition to anime and/or manga. I have to admit, I was a bit of a weeb myself in my emo days, but it didn't go further than that. Some weebs, though, manage to sink down into some bizarre pipeline that turns them into a bizarre version of a Japanese nationalist. They start claming that Japan is the greatest country in the world, and anime is the perfect form of art, and Japanese girls are the epitome of (wo)mankind. It doesn't take long before they also start denying Japanese war crimes and defending their occupation of Korea. How they went from liking anime to endorsing war criminals is beyond me.

Koreaboos

Whilst weaboos are usually teenage boys (with the occasional thirty-something neckbeard thrown in), koreaboos are almost always teenage girls. They are people obssessed with Korean culture (specifically South Kora), or at least their weird version of it. Like weebs, most of their experience (or lack thereof) comes from popular Korean media, like K-pop and Koream dramas. They also love to idolise South Korea, claiming it to be a perfect society full of hot twinks with coloured hair, and as the above example, some of them tend to become political extremists as well. It's kinda funny to me how weebs and koreaboos hate each other due to their obssessive worship of rival countries. I used to know this kpop fangirl who once told me she hated wacthing anime because of what the Japanese did to Korea. That's like, I don't know, refusing to eat a hamburger because of the American Civil War.

Chinaboos

They aren't very common, but they are slowly growing in size as China herself expands her influences. These are people obssessed with Chinese history, Chinese dramas, and Chinese pop songs. I kinda dislike this kind a little less than I dislike the others - mostly because I am a admirer of Chinese culture myself -, but they have this weird tendency to deny the existence of China's misdeeds - while I am yet to see a chinaboo outright deny the Tiananmen square massacre or the Uyghur Genocide, most chinaboos I've met claim that China is and has always been the world's biggest superpower, and "dethroning" America is her fate. Crazy stuff.

Teaboos

These guys are funny as hell. They're people who are obssesed with the UK, specifically England and the English monarchy. The type of people to stay awake for the entire night watching the new king's coronation, or the queen's funeral. They also frequently endorse the British Empire. I've had people come to me and say to my fucking face that they wished that Britain had colonised our country. People who idolise celebrities are already weird, but foreign politicians? That's a whole other level of screwed up.

Ouiaboos

I will never understand this. People who idolise France, praising their sophisticated culture and their chesse and wine and unpronounceable words. Some also like to endorse Napoleon and claim he was the most influential human being in modern history and an absolute gigachad.

I have never seen ouiaboos defending French colonialism, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

Wehraboos

The worse there is. People who idolise the Third Reich and their "efficient way of running things". If they were that efficient, why did they lose the war? They are almost always racist fucks.

Kaiserboos

The older cousin of wehraboos. They idolise the Kaiserreich and love the German monarchy, sometimes Prussia and Bismarck as well. Though not always racist, they usually have quite the controversial opinions on WW1. Guaranteed to be an EU4 or HOI4 player.

Romaboos

I kinda hate those guys for staining the image of Rome. These are people who idolise the Roman Empire, claiming it was the peak of Western civilisation at a time where "men were men" and "things were proper". Have you ever seen an incel on Twitter or Discord whose pfp is a Roman marble statue? That's one of them. They are usually very sexist, racist and homophobic, completely ignoring the fact that Rome was an incredibly diverse empire where homosexuality and gay marriage was about as common as brushing your teeth.

Leeaboos

Named after Confederate general Robert E. Lee, these are people - always Americans, thankfully - who idolise the Confederate States and the American Civil War. Like Wehraboos, they are guaranteed to be racist and sometimes also pro-slavery, claiming that it was an unjust war where the glorious freedom of their rebellious country was suppressed. Nevermind that the Confederacy was a barely-functioning oligarchy that lasted less than a decade.

Imperiaboos

Pretty much the Brazilian version of a leeaboo. They are people who romanticise imperial times and wish for the return of the Brazilian monarchy. They will go on and on about how the Empire was secretly one of the greatest economies in the 19th century (it wasn't), how they had the manpower to conquer the entirety of Latin America if they wished (they didn't), and how they were so cool they even scared off mighty Brittania that one time (which is actually true, though not as glorious as they claim). They are also frequently very racist and pro-slavery. Every time we have a shitty president (which unfortunately happens more often than not), they pop out outta nowhere claiming that "The Emperor would never allow that!" and so on.

Soviaboos

It always striked me as funny how so many soviaboos are of American origin. These people like to endorse the Soviet Union - or, in rare cases, the Russian Empire - claiming that it was the greatest superpower the world had ever seen, and openly wishing for its return. They commonly refer to their friends as "comrades" and tend to idolise Communist symbols and aesthetics in general. Generally very unpleasant to be around, though at least they are anti-capitalist and anti-american imperialism, so that's already a step on the right direction I suppose.

Dear all,

The first day of year 2024 has finally come.

And as a OT6 VIXX supporter/STARLIGHT + Ravi fan (I'm a OT6 VIXX supporter/STARLIGHT + Ravi fan with Autism by the way.) , it became much difficult to show people to have proof and sharing the real truth behind Ravi's military scandal because the majority of those people reading about Ravi's military scandal and his trial updates are from clickbait articles + AllKpop, Soompi and Koreaboo.

Plus, there are so many STARLIGHTs are deciding to support VIXX as only OT5/OT4/OT3 + STARLIGHTs who thought they are supporting OT6 VIXX but in reality they turned out to be OT5/OT4/OT3 VIXX supporters...

And there are fans from another Kpop fandom are sending d3ath threats, and r@p3 jokes to Ravi. They even kept saying "FUCK RAVI" and believing that Ravi is going to jail and Ravi doing a fake epilepsy...

Yes, Ravi made a mistake, admitted it and apologized but it doesn't mean they could just send such horrible things to him and it made me angry and sad.

It really hurts me when people kept pointing fingers at Ravi and saying hateful words, insults and sending threatening messages for a year and it's been ABSOLUTELY tough when I tried to share and believe the real truth.

And even I tried to share and believe the real truth, their hearts are still harden like a rock or a stone because they are stubborn and they would rather blame Ravi for all what he had done even he didn't do anything that's too serious and listening to the biased media and lies.

It's unfair and it all became too harsh.

And this year 2024, we have to show to the whole real truth once again.

I may fall several times now but this year, not this time. I'll rise up and fight back again until we reached victory.
