Mans just did a bit of research on your character and DAMN, he pulled immediately.

Your skill and burst was best for him, he literally thought it was so cool and needed to get you.

Though he'd be a little raging tomato if he lost the 50/50 to Qiqi, he still managed to get you anyways.

Still has Yanfei on the team, expect you're now DPS.

Literally took him only 5 minutes to level you to 90, hell he was glad he won't spend hours grinding for your ascension materials, he already had them STOCKED.

He's not that good at dodging please help him.

Always has a healer or a shielder in his team with you, kinda hates it hearing your fallen line and death.

Sometimes it be like that, but he actually built you well. Tries to get your constellations on your rerun, and ended up with a C1 (Y/N) ♡

At least he got one, i'll give him that. Does like, 10K damage with you. Trey helped him choose the right artifacts.

Knows decent about it but honestly once tried to give Kaeya Diluc's artifacts. Please don't let him play alone.

Always struggled with regisvines as a noob player, but now that he got you with him he'll never die.

Also bought a (Y/N) figurine but let's not get to that...

Trey Clover:

Xiangling main turned (Y/N) main.

Kinda funny how he somehow manages to pull you twice in the same 10 pull out of sheer luck–

Makes an effort to build you since you're a 5 star. Doesn't mind much but he loves admiring your attacks.

Like omg you do more damage than any asian mother's slipper hitting your face. Went to spiral abyss on floor 10, obliterated every enemy almost in seconds with you.

Please i headcannon him to always feed you even if your health bar is more than half full. I love it.

Maybe sometimes stops moving just to hear your idle/chat voice lines. He'd be like "Aw ♡ you're nice". Then proceed to keep admiring your design like Mihoyo given a 5 star rating.

Once went Co-op with Cater just as he finished doing commissions and just went feral when he saw you–

"Trey omg!? Her banner just started 30 minutes ago!"

Yes Cater, we know. He's been saving up for his moment.

Checked to see if you have any voice lines about Xiangling and you do, you're besties. He loves you more now.

Probably triple crowned you, who knows.

Cater Diamond:

LMAO he got you 7 minutes before your banner ended.

Yes, he basically used up all his wishes tryna pull for Ayaka last time and lost the 50/50. Oh well, he got you.

Suprised NRC entirely when you came out honestly. You being the absolute heaven you are. He actually pulled for you like a few times until he had like one ten pull left.

Probably searched for a (Y/N) summoning ritual and watched some.

And yay, he went over to your nation archon's statue of the seven and pulled there. Screamed when he got a gold.

Literally skipped and just saw you in all your glory.

Time to build! He may have stolen some artifacts from a character but...they were probably useless to him now.

Probably took you out on expeditions all the time just so he could raise friendship lvl and know more about you.

Will Co-op and show off his lvl 90 (Y/N). Don't stop him, he's so happy. Try not to let him know about your C6 (Y/N).

Anyways, since he hated Childe's guts for trying to put chaos upon Liyue he beat him up with you LMAO

Ace Trappola:

Built your vision build instead of physical.

Doesn't wanna admit it but also tested you out and made you climb some mountains...you know it, Genshin players. Tried it with Lisa, gonna try it with you.

I also think he'd be the type to nonchalantly reply to your chat lines or burst. When you say your burst he be like...

"Damn go off, (Y/N). Kick some ruin guard ass."

Somehow manages to make decent damage with you even though he's kind of shit with building. Pretty okay.

Isn't much of the type to help other players, but when he got you almost immediately he was in a good mood and built you to help others too.

Lvl 79 (Y/N) vs Lvl 40 Cryo Regisvine...

Yes i said 79, man didn't even bother for 80. Mans too lazy to keep leveling excuse me..

HELP HE SHIPS YOU WITH HIMSELF/HIS TRAVELER–

He's the kinda guy to probably secretly look up (Y/N) x Traveler fanart or fanfiction by secret.

Still doesn't know how to get your good ending in your hangout event..somehow always ends up making you sad and absolutely despises it.

Always uses emojis to chat with Deuce, what a mood.

Deuce Spade:

The one who goes to your lines in the menu and listens to everyone single one including your battle voice lines. Only a legend like him wouldn't get lazy listening to it all...

Doesn't have your own weapon, but he gave you a pretty good 4 star weapon anyway. More decent than Ace.

Is very troubled with certain bosses but since you're now his main life made everything for him so much easier.

Came back immediately and maxed you out to 90.

Doesn't have any of your constellations but pretty fine for him to have a C6 Qiqi.

I can feel his pain of gacha luck but wowie...you love him.

And so you came home. Pairs you up in a team with the two best Genshin characters he ships you with + a healer LMAO.

You may be doing 900 dmg but he has never been more proud of himself to actually be doing damage. Until he found out he forgot to level your talents and artifacts...Ace laughed at him so much.

"Shut it you orange you can't even properly use Beidou–"

Really shut him up so well that time.

When he met you in the archon quest, he could not be any happier and would be the player who screenshots that moment with their favs and stay until they have to go :(

Okay but when he saw an epic (Y/N) cutscene HE COULDN'T HELP BUT SCREAM IN HIS ROOM–

That scene remains played in his head the entire month.

Definitely had looked at some fanfiction with Ace lmao..

Leona Kingscholar:

Doesn't main, hell never even planned to pull for you.

But since our ultimate (Y/N) simp, Ruggie, was not taking any of that bullshit from him lol.

Made a bet with him and purposely won so the lazy lion would pull for you. And he reluctantly did. Even though you're a 5 star he used to think you weren't that good.

Until he watched some videos and now keeps you in his main team with Gorou XD

Doesn't Co-op, but did so once when Ruggie and Jack wanted to play together with him.

Gets chills when he activates your burst, it's so good.

The animation lives in his mind forever. Memorized your splash art and definitely knows your entire design.

Crowned you, triple crowned lol. You are respected.

Won't admit it but got attached to you and used you for everything. Expedition, cooking, fighting, even MINING–

He grew on you and you should be happy ♡

Never does his commissions but when he saw your story quest, he didn't want to do it but went like "whatever" and did it anyway XD

Since he's broke of course he's an F2P.

Saved for an entire year until your banner came. You were already guaranteed so uh...congrats bruv.

He only has a bunch of 4 star characters and weapons, but has Itto and Tighnari so it's pretty much fine. Look he love those two so much BAHAHA–

A good player. Doesn't have insane gacha luck but manages to at least get the characters he wants everytime.

You're the only one with 5 star artifacts because um favoritism ♡ just like my Kaeya TvT..

Somehow zooms through the entire exploration of the nation you reside in and it's all 100% TvT

As people always say, insane gacha luck.

I wouldn't know who he mains but probably between some sort of tall handsome character or hydro character. Ayato? Zhongli? Childe? Never know.

Has every character in the game except the ones that he doesn't want. Definition of whale. Probably has C6 of almost every character.

Also another boy that crowns you cause why not ♡

Very good at bosses and dodging. This mischievous ass also makes you climb mountains...God save you, (Y/N).

Sometimes just makes you stop moving and keep his focus on you, staring right through the screen as if he thinks that would magically isekai you into TWST–

Does your hangout event and attempts to get all endings.

And by your guessing, he might have did so. Yes, he did. All of the endings. It took a few hours but he did it.

Likes dragging hilichurls to the water and using Raiden or any electro character to electrocute them. Finds amusement in it. Mother i'm scared.

Waiting for the harbingers to get them all. I just feel the connection...for some reason. Really scary but hot vibes.

Probably has multiple accounts, all in which have you in it.

Doesn't main you, but keeps you. He just wants to have you around. Made you a sub DPS.

I can see both him and Jade playing spiral abyss. Might rage a few times if he doesn't get 3 stars but cools down a bit after attempting one or two more times.

Likes using the wind glider with you probably. Reminds him of his flying carpet and thinks the plunge is cool.

Since he's okay it may just take him uh...probably around 10-15 minutes to beat up Raiden with you.

The Genshin God of TWST and the biggest whale.

Don't even start on you. Just a bit of grinding and leveling, boom C6 lvl 90 (Y/N) with your weapon.

Maxed out right artifacts and triple crowned. Don't ask. The only C6 he doesn't have is Kaeya, Lisa and Amber. Look even he has his own hardships. C2 Kaeya though.

Insanely good at patterns and dodging.

One-faces La Signora regularly with no problems. Even more so he loves using you for looking hot while fighting.

His room is half-filled with (Y/N) posters, plushies, figurines, etc. you name it. Never forgets daily commissions and uses only you because he's a gamer God lol.

Has Diluc, Fischl, Barbara & Jean's other skins. And if you also have one he'll be the 3rd to have it (Azul & Vil yknow)...

Never underestimate an otaku and pro gamer.

Probably plays challenges with Lilia on a live stream like who can kill Raiden the fastest, who can kill a cryo resgisvine without breaking the corrolla, stuff like that...

It always ends so intense that fans are going crazy smh.

And sometimes there's a catch that they only have to use one or two characters. Both always use you LMAO–

Always expect better things each day in his streams.

Ortho Shroud:

Usually watches instead of plays, but Idia encouraged him to play so both could have fun.

He pulled you and Kequing ♡ first two 5 stars.

Of course a pro gamer as well like, he gives me those player vs AI robot battle vibes so much– except he's the AI and not actually bad TvT

Has lots of fun in the archon quests and weekly bosses. Expect him to get to Raiden's second face in 5 seconds.

Mihoyo has no idea wtf happened and how he did it.

Always helps other players! And when streaming, he also sometimes joins Idia and Lilia in playing. Who knows, maybe Cater as well if he has time.

Best (Y/N) build next to Idia you wouldn't believe it.

Not a C6, but somewhere near that. He'd probably get it if you get a rerun.

Also probably gives players good gacha luck and like damn thank him properly. Even if he has no idea what's going on he'll say "you're welcome" anyways.

Finds spiral abyss fun. Obtained a Xiangling and he felt happy about that.

Mostly finds the artifacts very confusing. Which ones should be used for (Y/N)? Should Lisa use travelling doctor? What does the +0 mean?

Lilia is always there to explain, and Malleus slowly understands. When i say slow, very slow.

But we'll be getting there soon nonetheless.

Amused when he pulled a 5 star which was you– like man didn't even try for the standard banner.

Wants to see if he'll get a limited character and he did. Probably has like three or four 5 star characters overall.

Does 5K damage, but that's good enough for him he says.

Probably the only TWST character that is most invested and interested in the Genshin lore. Maybe even your backstory, who knows.

If you have a really sad backstory like the others...

He'll feel bad. Always tries to remember it's fiction but can't stop feeling about it for you. Soft dragon.

When he first met you in game, i mean your cutscene–

He was both given a shock and wave of happiness. His favorite character is finally here! Very cool. Enjoyed the scene while it lasted and immediately ran to talk to you.

Two (Y/N)s up against each other...pff. Never does hangout events, actually too busy theorizing about Teyvat–

Just like anyone else. Unknown God? Celestia? The Fatui Harbingers & Tsaritsa? Expect him to be making lots of theories all the time. Sebek wholeheartedly agrees.

Lilia Vanrouge:

Not a Genshin god but could be a Genshin king probably. Another dolphin, mildly spends a little.

Pulled you on your rerun instead because he used all his primos for Zhongli. Used to main him too, always gets reminded of Malleus for some reason. Anyone else?

Doesn't even try. Can build you with his eyes closed, like do not even bLiNk and you're probably clashing dmg with Idia–

Which is why the streams are always so fun.

Co-op weekend nights with Diasomnia, in his world. He's at AR 60 and the others are probably around 50.

Will take a simple selfie with you admiring your character during the archon quest. If some epic cutscene happens he'll be very amused.

Little beastie is so strong~ he should make an entire cake dedicated to you! That's it.

Doesn't understand why everyone stopped him though.

Very loud and obnoxious when it comes to you.

Will definitely show you off the other players with his nicely built (Y/N) thanks to Lilia, but never his first year friends because feels it's embarassing...

Manages to fight weekly bosses on his own, takes two or three tries but it's okay. He's a decent one

Literally somehow obliterates them with his sheer luck. He almost falls asleep during Childe's boss fight and almost didn't manage to dodge the big whale LMAO.

Lucky he has food. Precious food for you worries. Saves some of your fanart on his phone.

So whenever he wants to sleep, he'll just look at your face and falls asleep peacefully ♡ prolly predicted you getting isekai'd in TWST so he has no problems loving you..

...Don't ask how he also has a C6 (Y/N).

Dies in the middle of an archon quest when he trials you because he just got shocked he saw you then just really stopped moving.

3.6 is about done, so here are the end results: 

On my main, I went from 20 pity to 65 pity to get C0 Kaveh. I have 240 rolls left, plus about 6K primos. Nothing notable, though I did manage to finish book farming and getting everyone to x/8/8 talents. 

My goal is both Eula and Klee in 3.8, after which I’ll really only be looking for new Mondstadt characters, Gorou cons, and maybe some weapons. I guess I might consider C2 Albedo at a stretch. Other Mondstadt 5 star cons are, how to say, not really appealing to me. 

On my alt... oh boy. 

I decided to see how close I could get to C2 Baizhu. There’s no specific reason except that saving is boring, I need a stock of stardust, and I think it’s very funny that he starts proccing his skill from off-field. I keep forgetting to switch to him, so hey, it would be convenient. 

Anyway, I’m going to pass on Alhaitham in 3.7, and 3.8 probably won’t have any men, so why not.

Diluc (good) at 76 rolls

Baizhu C0 at 78 rolls

Jean (useless) at 76 rolls

Baizhu C1 at 5 rolls

4.0 is being sus leaked to have Childe, so that will be my next goal. With a bow, I will be unstoppable. (He’ll be largely useless otherwise, so he’s gonna get a Noblesse+Fav support build lmao)

Conveniently, my rolling priority now is Childe (bow) > Zhongli (survivability if needed, can phys dps, spare me from geo traveler) > Ayato (super flexible combat option) > Xiao (cute, anemo option, cool skill) > Itto (cow) > Thoma (burgeon) > Alhaitham (skill teleport I guess)

(if anyone wonders why Qiqi and Xiao are on the lists, it’s because I made a special exception for Qiqi as Baizhu’s ward. It wouldn’t be fair to separate them! I need a second healer And then I thought that we might as well bring Xiao too, though it’s largely because I ended up never really using him on my main and I want to.) 

Thoma had been way higher before this patch, but I have Diluc for most pyro related things, and I remember from my main how hard it is to use Thoma’s shield and how bad his energy needs get at C0. He’s also a 4 star, so getting him at all might become an entire fiasco, to say nothing of cons. And of course, doing the pyro cube without Ayato is just not happening. 

Alhaitham, Itto and Xiao are all in roughly the same category of having little to their kit aside from on field DPSing, which is not really useful since they also really want specific supports that my alt won’t have. Alhaitham ranks lower than the other two because I already have two dendro men, Kaveh can do a knockoff version of the same DPS role, and his boss is super annoying to fight. 

3.7 has been remarked by everyone as looking super dry, but I will now have so much to farm on my alt... Kaveh artifacts, Kaveh Fav weapon mats, Qiqi artifacts, both their boss mats to max ascend... maybe even talent books if I’m feeling spicy, since they don’t use Mond book hell and Qiqi even uses Andrius, an accessible weekly boss.

On today's co-op adventures with C : they convinced me to fight bosses with only supports. And the funny thing is: that worked better than when we had 3 dps and 1 healer while playing with randoms before 😂

Then we fought weekly bosses with mono pyro. Signora was the most difficult one and I was never more glad to run Diluc on 4pc gladiator 😂

Tomorrow we'll start off with mono cryo. My Qiqi will probably carry me because Ayaka is still in her flop era xD (Blizzard artifacts hate me, I never get anything useful x__x)

But ngl I love those little challenges we always give ourselves. They're super fun with C 💕

Praying to rngesus in genshin artifact domain ugh. I hate then so much.

In other news I went from a childe/zhongli main to a scaramouche/venti main. In game lol. But seriously I like. Really focused on just. Grinsi g the desert pavilion domain city of gold or whatever its called bc it's easy and fast to do. And I got scara / I named him Yuto as decent a set as I could before my sanity ran out and then leveled them all to 20 and like. I'm looking at it. Like. Oops. I surpassed my childe. Now tbf, I was in the midst of replacing childe and zhongli's sets. Childe bc I learned that the hydro set for nilou is decent for most hydro characters so some of his current stuff is not lvl 20 yet so he's kinda accidentally nerfed. Zhongli bc I am dumb and thought that his kit scaled to defense like other geo characters. It was his hp. Oops. So his old gear had really high def and hp (about 60k?) But I'm going back for him to get better hp stuff. I gave some of his defense items to Noelle.

However I also was replacing Barbara's set from the ransom wanders troupe and maiden beloved to like. The actually good sea dyed foam artifacts that are good for all healers. But accidentally thought her heals scaled with attack like qiqi and Jean combat medics....

It's also her hp...

My Barbara currently has higher raw attack Stat than childe lmao.

I finally learned the websites that ppl use to post character cards on genshin subdeddits for showcases and advice. It's really good actually I like them a lot. I like akasha more bc some characters have a literal chart of stats comparing you to the public leader board lol.

I think it's funny to look at my (underdeveloped) characters and look at the chart and actually built characters and just go. Haha I fucked up. Welp.

Also idk but scara / Yuto is like in the 28% high energy recharge group. Also I guess im the only one who uses the dodoco tales?? The only advantage of being sucked into this dumb game since basically 1.0.

Main dps childe and scara and neuvillette. Battery venti and Raiden. Sub dps/burst Xiao and zhongli. Shield bot zhongli (but his hp is so low compared to his off the charts crit and attack oops. Where did I go wrong? Lmao).

Only venti and scara have full level 20 artifact sets here, so everyone else is kinda. Nerfed lol.

This isn't all my characters either, just the mostly leveled up ones. I'm still leveling wrio and kaveh and stuff.

- refuses to play any of the male characters aside from xingqiu and bennett

- lost the 50/50 for raiden shogun to diluc and almost lost it (got raiden on the last day of her banner though)

- has been playing the game since launch

- barely gets any sleep because he plays genshin? or plays genshin because he barely gets any sleep? either way he’s on the game all the time

- same ar as dazai but his showcase is just his lvl90 kazuha and albedo

- meta slave but he tries not to let it show (it slipped out once when ranpo asked how strong his characters are—his lvl40 xiao and electro goblet venti had tanizaki’s eye twitching)

- very kind and likes helping out his friends finish quests or get achievements

- f2p at first but once he spent a little bit for albedo there was no going back

- kunikida wants to scold tanizaki for playing at the office but honestly he gets his work done so he can’t really complain

- ar56 but very chill about it

- tanizaki would talk about the game a lot before she started playing so she ended up being pretty good at it when she started

- godly artifact luck sometimes it makes tanizaki cry

- mains ganyu and eula because they’re pretty

- when tanizaki sees her online at 2 in the morning he spams the qiqi emote until she logs off

i woke up at like three in the morning and scribbled this all down

not a formal writing piece so i haven’t formatted it like one, but i thought this was a fun idea!!

lucifer: diluc

they both have Fatherly Issues (in very different ways though)

probably inwardly makes fun of diluc for not liking wine

doesn’t really have any emotional attachment??? he just keeps diluc because he does a lot of damage and helps kill enemies quick

he actually has pretty good luck with getting 5 stars before he’s even hit pity, but he has awful luck on the event banners in terms of getting the featured 5 star - he’s never once won the 50/50 when he actually reaches it

gets really good artifact and weapon drops though so all of his levelled-up characters have super overpowered kits

he’s never actually looked up any recommended character builds, he’s just smart enough to figure out what all the stats mean and build his characters accordingly

has not touched his serenitea pot since he got it

not actually great with battle strategy and elemental reaction, he just tries to hit as hard as he can at all times

all of his characters are built dps because he doesn’t know how to build supports or healers

never teleports anywhere (he still hasn’t even unlocked half the waypoints)

didn’t realise the statues of seven healed until really late into the game

doesn’t bother with the reputation quests/bounties

all of his characters are still on that black glider that amber first gives you

it took him ages to finish the archon quest in mondstadt because he didn’t want to go into the cathedral

mammon: zhongli

accidentally got zhongli on like his very first event wish and has mained him ever since

he thinks it’s really funny that zhongli never has money (even though he also often has no money)

apart from that he likes the idea of playing the character that literally makes all the mora in teyvat

was actually considering switching after he finished the liyue archon quests because he absolutely hated how zhongli handled the whole thing but he didn’t want to give up that big pp damage

still doesn’t know that you can climb up onto dvalin in the stormterror battle

mixes and matches artifacts, but the ones he does use have really good stats and sub stats though so the lack of a set bonus doesn’t make much difference

didn’t realise you could increase talent levels until ar 50

loves doing the blossoms of wealth and hasn’t let his mora drop below 100k ever since he accidentally used it all up levelling his team to lv60

immediately does a wish as soon as he gets enough primos, unless it’s an event banner for a character he doesn’t like

he also ignores the story and hangout quests for the characters he doesn’t like

dabbles in the serenitea pot but doesn’t have the patience to really commit to it

forgets to do his commissions until the very last minute and lets his resin fill up to 160 before remembering that he’s not supposed to let it get full

is terrified of spiral abyss on a molecular level

levi: barbara

he loves idols so of course barbara is his favourite

has her built dps and does more vaporise damage with her charged attacks than some people’s 5 star bursts

ended up building lisa as a dps too because she makes fighting the oceanid for the cleansing hearts much easier

somehow still gets barbara to heal enormous chunks of hp as well??

has all three of her talents crowned, she’s lv90 and so is her 5 star weapon, plus all of her artifacts are +20

he likes getting the event 5 stars even if he’s never going to build them, they just make him feel superior in his luck

has really bad artifact drops which makes him really frustrated because he knows exactly how to build his characters with the perfect stats, he just can’t get the right artifacts!!!!!

keeps getting crit dmg, crit rate and atk% sub stats on defence circlets and it makes him die a little more on the inside each time

he despises jean because of how she makes barbara feel and desperately wants mihoyo to make a moment where jean tries to fight something but fails and barbara then steps in and takes it down immediately

never gets barbara’s constellations with makes him very upset because he wants c6 so BAD

nearly cried when he got barbara’s happy birthday voiceline

somehow got his serenitea pot to adeptal energy 20k within like two weeks but it doesn’t look good?? it’s just a whole bunch of 4 star furnishings shoved wherever there’s room

is pretty much always online at any given time

has nearly every single achievement in the game (goddammit just GIVE HIM THE RELIABLE HELPER COMMISSION)

satan: diona

this is not up for debate

he saw her in the character archive and immediately decided that if he didn’t get her he was quitting the game

luckily for him it was xiao’s banner around this time and he managed to get c3 diona from that alone

much like levi with barbara, he managed to build her so that she does enormous amounts of damage but still performs her shielding/healing really well

he prioritises her over everyone else but because of this diona is still his only fully-built character

all talents crowned, all artifacts +20, etc

hates draff with all his heart and refuses to buy anything from him

will murder you if you refer to diona as a loli in front of him

i’m aware keqing also sort of looks like she has cat ears but as far as i know that’s just her hair???

if anything i feel like satan wouldn’t like her because he’s offended that people think those chunk of hair look remotely like a cat’s cute lil ears

chose all his other team members based solely on whether or not their skill set would benefit diona

refuses to use any of the characters lucifer uses and got legitimately angry when he found out lucifer had started building diona to help with spiral abyss

spends like five minutes at a time making diona jump into water because he thinks the cannon ball animation is the cutest thing in the world

if a boss he’s fighting manages to kill diona, he gets so angry that he pretty much obliterates it immediately after

asmo: lisa

partially because she’s pretty and her personality is right up his alley, and partially out of pettiness because he sees so many people slandering her

doesn’t know how to build anyone, he’s only got a good lisa build out of sheer luck

none of his other characters have remotely good builds. like, maiden’s beloved on tartaglia?? really, asmo???

squealed when lisa called traveller a cutie

talks to her while he’s running about doing quests or battles

plays pretty sparingly so his ar is relatively low and he barely has any characters outside the starters

usually gets levi to one shot the bosses for him when he needs to ascend/upgrade the talents of his characters

(levi agrees because it gives him a pretty big power trip)

he also likes kaeya and has him in his team but lisa’s magic is just so pretty to him

spends all his primos on the standard banner trying to get lisa constellations but he still only has c4

all of the solo boss battles he’s won were only won out of sheer luck

adores the concept of the serenitea pot, but he doesn’t like a lot of the furnishings available

desperately wants a character customisation function

died seven times trying to do the stormterror fight and had to have levi do it for him in the end

still doesn’t done any of the story quests that you need a key for

spends most of his free time finding some pretty landscapes, changing the time, and taking pictures of lisa doing one of her idles against the sunset

beel: xiangling

decided he liked her as soon as he did her story quest

he’s only gotten up to floor 4 of spiral abyss because he only did floor 3 to get her

still only has c2 :((((

always has to have snacks with him while he’s gaming because xiangling’s voice lines remind him of how hungry he is

desperately wishes she was real because he wants to taste how good her food is for himself

likes cooking a bunch of dishes in-game, but he also gets frustrated because they all look so GOOD and he can’t eat them

doesn’t really know how building works but he does vaguely know what stats are good and how set bonuses work

doesn’t like hu tao because she’s mean to xiangling >:( plus belphie despises her and beel rarely likes anything his twin dislikes

is low-key upset that xiangling’s story quest was so early in the game because he didn’t appreciate it enough at the time and he hasn’t seeb her in-game for ages

still doesn’t have any 5 stars apart from the traveller, but he does have literally every 4 star in the game

is the type to bring xiangling to pyro domains but luckily she does some pretty good physical dmg as well so his teammates don’t get as mad

takes some time out of every day to find every food/ingredient vendor in the game and buy out their entire stock

still has never run out of mora somehow????

belphie: qiqi

i made this choice partially because of that one halloween belphie ur where he’s dressed up in a jiangshi costume

aside from that i feel like she just sends his big brother instincts haywire

he cried a little bit when he read her backstory, not gonna lie

like satan, he will kill you if you call qiqi a loli

somehow managed to build her as a physical dps that does like 5000 per hit?????

(he has unholy artifact luck and all of qiqi’s artis have atk, crit dmg and crit rate as their stats and sub-stats, plus aquila favonia)

he started out building her as an all-around dps but then he realised that her burst and skill couldn’t do much in terms of damage since they’re healing-oriented, so he decided to build her physical since that the only type of dmg she can constantly apply

and qiqi still heals reliably because her healing is scaled off her attack, which is like monstrously high???

qiqi hates hu tao so of course belphie does too

he still refuses to do her story quest and didn’t touch her banner or character trial

really really wants a qiqi banner for constellations but is aware that that is incredibly unlikely

doesn’t trust baizhu and wants zhongli to adopt qiqi since he seems like a much more reliable dad

heard the theory that xiao is the adeptus that killed qiqi and therefore also despises him even though it hasn’t even been concerned or anything

diavolo: eula

don’t get me wrong diavolo definitely gives me pyro vibes but i feel like he’d just feel so bad for how the mondstadters misunderstand and mistreat eula in her story quest that he’d immediately go to spend all his primos on wishing for her

he’s got r2 broken pines and a full pale flame artifact set with some pretty decent stats and substats on her so she does pretty enormous damage

it’s lucky that eula’s move set doesn’t require anything too strategic because all diavolo does is button mash

all of his characters are physical damage dealers because he doesn’t really know how to do elemental reactions

(because of this though he’s awful at fighting a lot of the bosses, especially the oceanid)

his favourite boss battle is the weekly golden house trounce domain because he can always smack childe down really quickly

he’s stinking rich so he can afford to spend just about as much money as he wants to get any character he wants

like he got all the way to pity on eula’s banner and lost the 50/50 to mona but he just bought more primos and got all the way to pity again to get eula

on the other hand he got broken pines twice in two ten rolls on the weapon banner and he wasn’t anywhere near pity for that

he joined levi along with satan and asmo to have a go at doing the golden house fight in co-op and he managed to pretty much oneshot a lv90 childe in phase 1 and phase 3 with just eula’s burst

(he spent phase 2 recharging it)

barbatos: venti

this is at least 70% because venti is also called barbatos

he somehow knows pretty much everything there is to know about building characters well and he’s built venti with both attack and elemental mastery

got venti on his first banner and managed to get to c4 on his rerun

doesn’t appreciate how much venti drinks and actively buys the non-alcoholic juices from angel’s share to give him as if that’ll help????

is terrified of fighting the wolf because it’s immune to anemo

(don’t ask how he managed to get the hurricane seeds for ascending venti)

can pretty much fire off venti’s burst as soon as it’s over because his energy recharge is somehow also insane

diligently collects all the recipes and masters every single one of them

his serenitea pot is literally so perfect looking????? i don’t know how to describe it everything just fits together flawlessly

diavolo offers to buy him primos because he’s got more than enough money but barbatos doesn’t wish a whole lot so he usually refuses

(diavolo knew he mained venti and liked him though so he bought him a bunch for the rerun anyway)

he still doesn’t have any five star weapons but stringless works really well on venti anyway so he doesn’t mind

doesn’t really like co-op, prefers to just wander around in his own world

simeon: yanfei

simeon definitely gives me hydro vibes and he probably mained a hydro before yanfei, but i feel like he happened to get her on zhongli’s banner and decided he really liked her as soon as he started trying her out

he adores her little ‘boom boom!’

she also works really well doing big damage with vaporise which is good because simeon plays a lot with luke, who mains barbara

he low key identifies with how yanfei doesn’t want to focus on her identity as an immortal half-adeptus because simeon himself often wants to forget the fact that he’s a divine being and just live peacefully

often forgets that yanfei gets a lot of her dmg from charged attacks and just keeps doing normal attack combos until he registers the scarlet seals and realises he needs to hold the button down

nearly all of his characters were basically backseat-built by levi and solomon

even though his team is pretty powerful he still dies a bunch because his battle strategy is just ‘stand there and keep hitting the attack button until it dies’

keeps running off of cliffs and forgetting to plunge/glide and just dying to fall damage

back when he was like ar20 he accidentally wandered into liyue early and immediately got killed by a treasure hoarder

spent like ten minutes of his first stormterror fight just running off the end of his platform before someone told him he was meant to glide

luke: barbara as well

if you’ve seen my post about barbara and luke being siblings you’ll understand why i’ve made this choice

aside from that luke just likes barbara because she’s one of the nicest characters in the game

plus she’s a deaconess in a church and he’s an angel so

unlike levi he’s got her built purely as a healer, but she heals so MUCH

luke’s entire team is just support characters?? but their support is so good that they kind of make each other dpses in their own right??

his strategy is to keep his whole team at full hp and deal relatively small but very steady increments of damage

unfortunately this means he isn’t great at the artifact and weapon/character enhancement domains because they’ve got time limits

wants to have a pretty serenitea pot but he just can’t get it to look how he wants it to

like levi, he doesn’t like jean because of how she makes barbara feel (and also how jean just refuses to take any sort of older sister role for her)

got her to c6 on a single event banner because she just kept coming home (he wasn’t complaining though)

is contemplating building her dps because he thinks it’d be cool if she did a bunch of damage like levi’s barbara

likes to just sit and wait for her to do her dancing idle because he thinks it’s cute (will immediately make her move and cut off the other one though because it’s about jean and he doesn’t like her)

solomon: albedo

they both look sensible but they’re both just mad scientists on the inside

doesn’t really know how albedo’s burst and skill work, just keeps tapping buttons whenever they’re available

if he didn’t have albedo he’d probably main a catalyst but he relates to how curious albedo is about just about everything

(plus he does like his design)

always gets the limited time 5 star on his first ten pull on the event banners????? is he using his magic somehow??????

and also somehow gets really good weapons and artifacts????

he knows enough about artifacts to know what to put on who so all of his characters are really well built

he’s the type with eight lv90 5-stars with lv90 5-star weapons and fully upgraded artifact sets in his character showcase

his signature is ‘hack me i dare you’

constantly getting friend requests from fellow players who want an op friend to help them in domains and against bosses

but unfortunately even if solomon has a bunch of overpowered characters he is very bad at using them

gets all the elemental reactions wrong, uses the wrong element against the wrong enemy, forgets to do things like putting albedo’s skill down before his ult, and he can’t aim with any of the archers

like i said he just taps buttons and hopes for the best

because of this he’s still at floor 6 in spiral abyss

Lvl 90

I know it’s up to luck what drops you get but I find that when you solo the boss, more often than not, you get 3 juvenile jades instead of 2. Don’t worry about exp paper or mora since on the 02/26 there’s going to be a double leyline event. You basically get 3 opportunities to get double drops using 20 original resin. 

I’d say you should prioritize this way:

1. Artifact [just aim for a good main stat. You can artifact grind later.]

2. Mora [only if you are a struggling zhongli wallet like me. ]

3. Talent Books

4. Exp paper 

The new events will give you a ton of exp materials. You can level Xiao’s talents to 6 and you’re good. You can level up later. 

Ascension cost: 420,000 mora

Exp materials: 414 Hero's Wit, 13 Adventurer's Experience, 17 Wanderer's Advice

I got his 5 star spear when I first started the game so I’ve just been using that. But the bp spear “Deathmatch” is not a bad option. My friend gifted my bp but I’ll probably stick with jade spear haha. If you’re f2p then you can use the prototype spears. I think prototype starglitter is better than crescent pike since most of your damage is going to be anemo.

I’m running 2 glad + 2 viridescent set bonus on him. To be honest, my artifacts are actually garbage besides my flower haha.

I would say:

Flower and Feather: You must have crit damage and crit rate. These are the easiest to farm since you can get glad pieces from weekly bosses. I just got unlucky. 

Timepiece: Atk% 

Goblet: Anemo bonus damage

Circuit: Crit damage 

Prioritize crit damage and crit rate for your sub stats. Atk% is fine. Use your energy recharge artifacts for support characters (but it’s not awful to have on Xiao). 

Talents

I’m a complete zhongli wallet and getting talent 9 to 10 costs 7000000 mora. I can 10 all his talents, I’m just broke. 

If you have anything under c6 xiao: Normal attack, elemental burst, elemental skill

If you have c6 xiao: Elemental burst, elemental skill, normal attack. 

C6 xiao is literally ult -> plunge attack -> eee -> plunge attack -> eee. Wash rinse and repeat.

Team

This is the team I’m running with now. I still need to experiment a bit but Xiao is my main dps, Childe is my secondary, Zhongli is my shield, and Jean is my healer. I want to put bennet in just because bennet is stupid broken but I’m not sure. 99% why childe and zhongli are together with Xiao is for the meme. Jean is just there for the anemo bonus and to heal haha. 

I might also try Xiao, Venti, Zhongli, and Qiqi/Bennet. That seems like fun. 

Small gameplay notes

Xiao elemental burst ignores wooden shields.

I cancel my last normal attack auto with a charged attack (the spear vault). My preferred method is na -> na ->  na-> ca. I feel like that’s the fastest and easiest to do. 

E -> E then before the energy particles come back to you, use your elemental burst (q), so when they come back it fills up your bar. By the time your first burst ends, you can burst again. 

Elemental burst: plunge -> normal atk/charged to cancel -> plunge. Wash, rinse, and repeat.

Xiao takes no falling damage only if you’re plunging. 

Xiao’s feet don’t touch the ground when you sit. This doesn’t mean anything in gameplay. It’s just cute.

Extremely lucky it's not even real. He got a five star on the beginner's banner

Fast farming. He probably will complete all the quest and become an endgame player within one month

He's really good with whatever he's doing. Attack combo, dodging, elemental reaction and all sorts of stuff. If he invest more of his time on artifacts, he would probably even one shot it!!

Kyojuro : he wouldnt even know the existence of this game. Well, he took a glimpse of it one day and boom, heart stolen. Maybe it was the fiery burning passion in bennett that made him play the game.

Kyojuro's the type of player to read and pay attention to every single lore of his fav character. Bennett, oh my how he wish he could've had bennett in his team. Every wishes he made would make him a c6 bennett main if only barbara wont stop coming home

The highest con of bennett he had ever gotten is probably c1. One day the paimon's bargain shop offered bennett as their monthly character. Kyojuro had never been so excited over a game before. He usually perks up over academics and not this kind of thing. But it's bennett, the character he admires the most.

Unfortunately he couldnt get it due to low currency. He had never feel so sad in his life.

Type of player :

Carefully reads every stories and listens to their lines attentively. He finds it amazing how the company spent their everything on this game. It amazes him. From the stories, lores and lines, he truly appreciates it.

Balance his team pretty well. He mains bennett so he doesnt need that much of a healer in his team.

Enjoys bennett's hangout very much!! He tried to not get him killed by the dungeon's trap but ended up having to sacrifice him which ultimately ends the route. He had never felt so down and guilty before.

Not much of a damage dealer. He prefers to play it in normal mode and doesnt care that much about one shotting monster.

He feeds his character three meals a day!! If only there's a sleep option, he would be sending bennett to sleep first before the rest.

Everyone loves his teapot

Shinobu : found the game while she's scrolling through the app store out of boredom. Initially she played it on her phone but due to the fps and a really bad ping, so bad that douma wouldnt find her interesting anymore, she finally downloaded the game on her pc where things has starting to get real

Loses 50/50 to diluc everytime everyone would think she either is lucky or cursed by the amount of that man greeting him on the screen. She still bench him though, sadly

Suffers a lot in the abyss because she just want the primos which is a valid reason to do because that's the only thing that keeps her going

She's a sword character main. She'll properly build every character as either support or dps. The support would be kaeya and bennett, and her main dps ayaka

My man cant dodge after he got zhongli. Its very painful because he used to studies the enemies movement in the early game so that he can utilizes it on the team but zhongli's shield is so tank he forgot that dodging exists

That one event where zhongli's shield plays an important role in the domain? Yeah, he felt like a god at that time. Even got his c2 on his rerun. Sanemi just really like zhongli because it kinda reminds him of himejima. Calm and wise and strong too. He looks up on that kind of person

Loves one shotting bosses and compares it to giyuu. He ask for advices from obanai regarding team build supports and stuffs

Doesnt do character's story quest. The key is full every single time. He unlocks it but leaves the quest like that.

His friend list only has obanai in it. Whenever people sent him friend request, he wouldnt hesitate, more like wouldnt care to accept it

They either have to coop in obanai's world or his world and after that, unfriend immediately

Tengen : played since 1.0 this madlad has been staying loyal to the game ever since. Quite huge amount of money he spend on this game to be honest but he never gets broke by it. You can see his regular donation to the game by purchasing welkin and battle pass and some genesis crystal too. He's loaded with money, he didnt know what to do with it.

Uzui also plays honkai impact and guns girl Z so when he saw the unknown god at the intro , he was not surprised.

Fights azhdaha for fun and to test out his characters rather than ruin guards and stuff

Mona wanter

Puts traveller as the pfp and doesnt display any showcase of his characters and namecards. You can only see his achievements and spiral abyss ( 12-3 ). Says its for fun and mystery

Throws a lot of pickup lines and roleplays a lot. Spams your chatbox messages with stickers and censored stuffs

Probably steals your ores and exotic things like violetgrass, qingxin and silk flowers

Screams in the chatbox whenever he saw Mona until Kyojuro had to calm him down

Changes signature every single time and sometimes put spoilers in it

In every survey he would complain "MihoYo where the fuck is my Mona,"

You adjusted your headphones as you shifted in your chair, seeing your face pop up beside the Genshin Impact opening page. “Alright! While people join in, we’ll start collecting the daily rewards.” You moved to your keyboard to set about doing your daily tasks while watching your viewer number shoot up. You greeted them with a smile while you moved your character to the Adventurer's Guild to get the rewards of the day. After they had been collected, you moved your attention to the chat, where you saw multiple comments asking you to visit other worlds, hoping that one of them would be able to play with you. “So is that what we’re going to do today? That sounds fun! Let’s go carry some people.” You laughed and clicked the co-op button. 

“Oh! A Noelle account! Let’s see. Kozukenken, will you let me join your world?” A few moments went by and there was no change in the screen, so you prepared to find a different account when you were suddenly transported to the new world. “Nice! We’re in.” Your character loaded next to the other’s Fischl in the middle of Mondstat. Clicking open the chat, you were quick to send the first message.

Kozukenken: i’ve only been playing for a week so i’m still working on building

(y/n)plays: ofc i’ll help. Let’s go!

“This is it, guys. Finally a chance to show off my new babies!” You cheered, going to change out your characters to Rosaria and Yanfei before you met your new partner near the hypostasis’s location. Awkwardly running around each other for a moment, you both took that as your cue to start the fight. Your partner had their Noelle and Qiqi on their team, which you let them use for a few before you got a chance to use your ‘ult’ skill from both of your girls which finished off the hypostasis, the flower growing nearby. “Ha! One shot! I’m almost as hot as Papi Tartaglia now, huh?” You giggled as you read over the comments, each talking about the previous fight and comparing you to the other well-known players who main Tartaglia and Zhongli. 

From there, the two of you fought a few more bosses, hit a couple of domains, and wiped out a handful of hilichurl groups guarding chests, all the while, you both making jokes back and forth to each other through the chat. Your stream chat was blowing up, though you didn’t notice while you were distracted by your partner. If you had just paid attention to the chat for a moment, you would have realized what your viewers did. You just happened to be playing with one of the highest viewed streamers on Twitch.

Hours must’ve passed that you played with ‘kozukenken’ and finally you left their world before you said goodbye to all of the people who had watched you stream. Logging off, you took a deep breath and rubbed your eyes, not realizing how much they were hurting until you took them off of your screen. You went to your bathroom to begin the process of getting ready to go to sleep since it was nearing three o’clock in the morning when your phone chimed to alert you about a new message on Discord. Opening your screen to see the Genshin Impact loading screen you had forgotten to click off of earlier, you almost exited the app when you saw a red exclamation mark by the Paimon Menu. Clicking on it, you saw that you had an unaccepted friend request from the player that you had just finished playing with. With a giddy smile, you accepted it and moved to check Discord. 

The two of you talked for a while the next day on voice chat and you learned that he lived only an hour away from you. You also happened to learn exactly who he was when you checked out the link to his Twitch and realized he was one of the streamers that inspired you to start streaming yourself, though you didn’t recognize his username at first. After a brief moment of panic, which he had the audacity to laugh at you for, he made the suggestion of streaming together one day. You were quick to agree. 

“So since we’ll be streaming soon, we should plan a day and time.”

“Yeah! And what we’re going to be doing.”

“So I have an idea. Let’s see who can get the most hilichurls. If you win, you get a special tour of my teapot.” 

“Kenma! That’s awfully bold! We just met and you’re already trying to show me your teapot; how scandalous!” 

“I- that’s- wait.. I didn’t mean.. That’s not-”

“I know what you meant, Mr. Freaky.”

“You know what I meant, (Y/N). I’m going to sleep since you have nothing better to do than tease me.” 

“It’s just too easy, Kenma. Anyway, I’ll talk to you later!”

He hung up the call, leaving you staring at your phone slightly awestruck. He wanted to game with you again. You found a hard time comprehending that. Letting out a laugh of disbelief, you flopped back on your bed and closed your eyes until a ping from Discord let you know of a new message.

Kozukenken: “I’m looking forward to our teapot date :)”

lantern rite: what is your favorite cutscene in the game so far?

My favorite cutscene is definitely still the Lantern Rite--the one where Xiao's sitting on the hill just outside of Liyue Harbor, looking up with awe at the thousands of glittering lanterns filling the sky.

It makes me tear up because...even through his millennia of living, that was the very, very first time that he let himself enjoy something for the sake of enjoying it--not because it reminds him of anything, not because it is his duty. And also because it was, in part, a tribute to one of his friends who has long since passed. Ahhhh just thinking about it I'm (':

stormterror: if you had 4 all sword, all claymore, all polearm, and all catalyst teams what characters would you put on them for fun?

Ooooo okay okay okay lemme just (I also threw in bow as well for fun ehe)-

In order of slot as well:

Sword: Traveler, Qiqi, Kazuha, Albedo

Claymore: Sayu, Beidou, Chongyun, Xinyan

Polearm: Raiden, Xiangling, Xiao, Zhongli

Catalyst: Kokomi, Sucrose, Lisa, Yanfei

Bow: Diona, Venti, Amber, Yoimiya

I'm pretty picky with how my comps are ordered-

For the most part, I'll put characters in this order: Healer, Sub Support, Main Support, DPS. This only changes if there's a dedicated shield character or if the team is predominantly supports built w/ DPS capabilities (all sword team).

The only exceptions are the all polearm team--because there isn't a healer and instead there are two supports, one skill/burst support, and one DPS--and the all bow team because Venti inexplicably feels like a 'second slot' character to me. I don't have an explanation for it ehe

THAT BEING SAID-

All Sword Team

Overall, a pretty solid team! There's lots of flexibility due to Qiqi's healing and Albedo's crystalize shields as well as Traveler being able to switch to different elements. Very dependable. Kazuha's there because I love his playstyle--probably has my favorite playstyle above all other characters nodnod

9/10 for versatility and bonus point for Albedo

All Claymore Team

Lots of possibilities for reactions! Namely melt + Overloaded which both are big damage reactions. Unfortunately, there aren't any hydro claymores...but if there were, I'd put them on this team because Chongyun's skill + hydro mean permafreeze. Slap on physical build Xinyan and mannn this team would destroy. Also you can get electro charge w/ hydro electro which is good dot nodnod

8/10 because a hydro character would be better

All Polearm Team

Man, this team would be really good too...Why didn't I think of this sooner?? Overloaded as is does pretty big damage, not to mention you can easily just switch to Raiden, Xiangling, and Zhongli for their skill before switching back to Xiao and just going to town-

7/10 because Xiao's passive HP loss with his Q as well as Zhongli's skill and Raiden's bright ring of purple effect visibility

All catalyst Team

Another that's pretty focused on reactions! Luckily, catalysts give reliable and consistent application of elements because...well, the attacks themselves are only elemental. I actually have nearly no experience w/ Lisa because I got Beidou really early on and used her in tandem with Kaeya for superconduct so I don't have much to say-

Also because of the four characters, I only have one actually built and only use her once in a while (Sucrose).

8/10 because stamina drain is a big problem and my experience w/ a catalyst based team tends towards having to bunnyhop because my stamina bar is empty. But also in this case, Kokomi would def help w/ her healing

All Bow Team

Ahhh yes yes this would be a fun team. You have the possibility to proc melt or reverse melt (which deals more damage than melt), you get a shield, healing, cc, and also have a great aim/charge shot person (Amber) as well as a great auto attack person (Yoimiya). Not to mention the pyro resonance giving that attack boost.

The only downside is that, apart from Venti, the team is very 1-target based. However, Yoimiya alone does enough damage for that to not really be a problem.

8/10 because the downside, but other than that not too shabby

unrelated to the last couple asks buT!! are you pulling for kokomi? i originally wasn't going to because i was just having a lot of trouble trying to form a team for her (please give recs) but i just NOW started the second archon quest and im. so in love with her already. like shes just so smart n thoughtful.. what do i do? im not guaranteed and my pity is probably only ~20-30

Ahh I'm going to be skipping Kokomi. She isn't a character I really wanted nor need, and I have been faithfully (read: desperately) saving for Albedo rerun since my goal/need is to pull at least 3 of him this time...it's all in for me there TwT I dont know if I'll pull for Kokomi on her reruns either...maybe if I had spare primos (as if) and there are no banners upcoming that I want.

As for a team for her though...I havent paid much attention to her but I got the idea she's like a 5 star Barbara (who I also do not use) so I'm not the most familiar with her skillset. She seems to be suited to support, as her official bio also states but Genshin is a game you can do whatever you want with your characters :>

Whether you build her as support or a main/sub-dps, all I can say is (and this is my personal opinion, I don't know about others) that overhealing isnt really useful especially in late game content like Spiral Abyss that is focused on dealing as much damage as possible in a short amount of time (heck, one of my main team comps in Abyss is a no-healers-we-die-like-men team) but Kokomi's healing and DMG after burst scales on her Max HP so there's potential for being both a simultaneous healer/dps but we wont know how far she can go until her release and we can stick some artis on her.

I'm assuming you want to use her as a main because you want to build a team for her and we all want to keep the char we love most on field as much as possible :3 So you might be able to do the above healer/dps whilst having a off-field elemental reaction provision team for her, like freeze team (Kaeya, Qiqi, Diona) or vaporize (Xiangling, Bennett), and even electro-charged (Beidou), while avoiding selfish characters like Razor etc who requires to be on field to shine at their best. If you have characters that buff Elemental Mastery, you can even take advantage of that while dumping down nonstop ele reactions (Albedo, C6 Diona, Sucrose etc)

Also, she can't crit but that means you save a lot of time, sanity and resin on artis farming since many struggle with getting both crits on their artis. Not needing crits means giving you leeway to focus on giving her quick bursts and EM. You defo want energy recharge on her since her main dmg output will be from there.

If you can do that, you can possibly give her a lot of utility as a main! Heck, one girl army!

Again, the above is my personal opinion without having played her nor studied her closely before release fhjdbfh

As for whether you should pull for her, if you REALLY want her and have no other upcoming characters you want to pull for in the next couple updates, I say go for it. Which in this case, low pity doesnt matter in any case and you can go all-in for her and hope for the best.

On the other hand, if you think you are patient enough to wait monthssss for her rerun and want to pull someone who is getting their reruns possibly soon (Albedo, Ganyu, Hu Tao, Xiao etc), then waiting is another choice. There's always a chance you might get Kokomi early so if you're saving for a future banner, you can perhaps pull another couple times on Kokomi and try your luck, but give yourself a cap. Maybe try waiting till the end of her banner and see how much you have saved, and then try pulling!

If you decide to pull Kokomi in the end though, I really wish you the best of luck and hope that you get her!!! Her aesthetic is really pretty and ngl, walking on water is cool asf (coming from me, a serial drowner in genshin).

hi!!  uhh honestly, the genshin aiming system is pretty good :0  the only advice i can give is keep your hand steady when you’re aiming (this applies to desktop and mobile).  there might also be an option to adjust your mouse/screen sensitivity so your screen doesn’t jump to slow/fast while you’re trying to aim, so i’d recommend messing with those if needed.

c6 barbara is definitely better than c1 qiqi!!  auto-revive is too useful to pass up on. :0  although, consider how often your characters faint in-game.  if frequently/youre doing challenging content, then i’d recommend c6 barbara over c1 qiqi.

hu tao and albedo would be amazing in a vaporize comp!!  albedo increases elemental mastery after unlocking his second ascension talent, and elemental mastery increases damage dealt by elemental interactions.  i would recommend xingqiu with hutao and albedo, since you’ll make the most of the elemental mastery bonus albedo gives.

it can mean both depending on the person!  generally though when talking about later floors (9-12), they mean passing the floor/making it to the end, not necessarily with all the stars.  personally i always say “full clear” if i mean i want to clear a floor with 9/9 stars.

Disclaimer! Every character is amazing in their own way! Anyone can be a main dps or any play style is great!! This is just my opinion, which isn’t worth much lmao

Everyone shown will be written about from left to right!!!

Archers:

Fischl: annoying. I can’t stand her voice lines and she’ll stay at level 20 until everyone else is level 90 and I take pity on her and level her up like everyone else. Her charged attack confuses me and she’s just. Annoying. She’s been on my team ONE time! Her first and last time

Venti: This bitch...I’m blessed to have him. His ult attack is epic!! Once I get him artifacts to increase Anemo damage it’s all over for you assholes :) I typically don’t enjoy archers or catalysts because I like being up close and personal with whatever I’m fighting so I can SEE my sword hit it y’know? But Venti makes domains and fighting camps of enemies so easy!! Treasure hoarder camps? Obliterated. Though keep in mind, I really only have him on my team for his ult and charged attacks, everyone else deals the rest of the damage

Amber: She used to have a permanent spot on my team before I found out Venti was actually really good...Didn’t fully understand the game yet :) she’s good! Basic and easy to understand play style! Once I got Bennet though...She is no longer my go-to Pyro :’) sorry girlie...

Diona: I’m sorry but no ❤️ I personally can’t stand playing as the tiny characters. Her voice lines are cute and from what I’ve seen, she’s a great healer!! But I won’t use her, it’s just too much of a hassle since she’s so small. She can’t climb or run as fast as taller characters and it’s just annoying to be so much shorter than whatever I’m fighting :/

Childe: I don’t have him but I got to play as him in his story quest as his play style was??? Confusing??? The whole switching from bow to swords was confusing and hard to keep up with cause I’m just mashing buttons babey!!! If I’m being honest, if I had him I wouldn’t use him much. He’s cool and I love him as a character but he just wouldn’t fit in my team anywhere! That pains me to say...;-;

Ganyu: Regretting skipping her banner :/ I didn’t do her character trial either but I finished her story quest and uh...I missed out! That’s what I get for giving into the ‘cryo Amber’ mindset! Her play style is very fun! I love her ult attack...Damn...I missed out man she would have been awesome on my team for sure.

Claymores:

Beidou: 100/10, she is SO useful!! She’s on my secondary team and even though she’s only a level 40, she’s a C6!! She’s my ONLY C6 character so I’ve been dumping all of my electro materials into her lately, she is SUCH a hard hitter I love her! I love electro and ice or fire reactions!! She’s the queen of them babe. Shes fast and strong...Pirate woman...

Razor: I’m conflicted cause he’s fun to play as but I have a lot of beef with him. The first problem is a problem I cause myself because one hit and he’s dead. If I don’t have a shield up, he’s a goner two seconds into any fight. My other gripe is that his ult doesn’t carry over to other characters. An example of that is Kaeya’s ice ring or Noelle’s shield! Those carry over between character switches but Razor’s does not. Annoyingggggg!!!

Chongyun: Admittedly, I kinda gave up on building him. There’s only room for one cryo character on my team and that’s Kaeya. His fighting style isn’t all that special but I feel like the game is trying to get me to level him up cause the last 4 domains I’ve done, I’ve been paired with level 80 Chongyun players and they were pretty awesome so...When I have the materials to spare, I might have to invest in this guy lmao

Xinyan: I JUST got her like last week or something so she isn’t leveled up a whole lot but oh man...Her ult is sick. I LOVE the rock and roll theme for her, she’s just awesome! I don’t see her becoming part of either of my main teams but I will definitely use her for domains once I can spare materials to level her up ;-;

Noelle: I used her alllllll the time until I got Zhongli. Her shield is fantastic, you really can’t go wrong with a shield! Other than that...I can’t really say anything else about her :’) her play style is similar to the other claymores which doesn’t really allow her to stand out much

Diluc: he’s an honorable mention. I don’t have him...But I want him so bad. My pity is at 50/50 so I’ll either get Hu Tao or him!! (Or Qiqi, Mona, Keqing or Jean but I don’t wanna talk about that). People make him so strong, even when he’s lower leveled he still hits hard! I’d love love love to have him on my team

Catalysts:

Lisa: the og catalyst...I like her as a character but man oh man...She just doesn’t fit on any team! Her play style is fun! Her voice lines are flirty, she’s just a fun character uggghhh I’d love to actually play with her more! Beidou is just the better electro for my team so Lisa will sit on the sidelines for awhile :’)

Ningguang: I poured all of my geo resources I to Zhongli so she literally never got the chance to even be on a team. I leveled her up enough to get that free wish but...Yeah...I have only played as her during a character trial even though I have her! Idk, she just wouldn’t fit on my team. Some people make her super strong which I admire!!

Barbara: fantastic I love everything about her! She and Bennet swap places on my main team every hour or so but when she’s paired with Kaeya, she’s just awesome!! She just works well with others! And she sings :’) other than that her play style isn’t exactly anything special! She’s just a character I can swap out a lot and she just FITS in my main team?? Amazing

Mona: Still in the process of leveling her up, I really enjoy her play style! Not a fan of catalysts but... I did something the other day when I switched artifacts around and now she does pretty good damage?? Idk what I did but she’s more fun to play as now! My only gripe is when she sprints, she turns into a puddle! So when I want to dodge or do short bursts of sprinting she leaps in and out of the floor like STOP IT HAJSLSSK the splashing is SO LOUD for WHAT lmao I love her though! Solid spot on the secondary team

Sucrose: she is so underleveled but I made an all Anemo team just for giggles...And now I want to actually buff her up. It’ll take a lot of time and material farming but she has a lot of potential to work well with Pyro and hydro characters with her swirl effect!! :)

Klee: Again, not a fan of the kiddos. I don’t even remember when I played as her, it might have been her trial or in a story quest somewhere but I just didn’t enjoy her play style. She throws bombs which don’t always go off immediately so I’m sitting there like ???? Blow up??? And then they don’t? Confusing!!!

Swords:

Kaeya: Oh yes my big sexy man hello sir 👀 he is never leaving my team!! Never! I’ve formed an emotional attachment to him and uh well he’s level 74 now and overpowers all of my 5 stars except Zhongli. When he’s paired up with Barbara and they both activate their water/ice swirls?? That’s my favorite thing in the whole world I LOVE freeze reactions! Ugh absolutely flawless! My only gripe about his play style is that sometimes he turns away when firing his ice and I’m like NO THE OTHER WAY it’s called auto aim or something idk, most characters do it at some point...It’s just ten times more annoying when he does it :)

Jean: I got Jean very recently so she isn’t at her best yet but WOW she is an amazing healer!! Like wow, she’s giving Bennet a run for his money. I have no complaints about her! Her play style is kinda basic. I do love how she can just blow enemies away though, that’s fun!! Especially in co op when I can blow my teammates off cliffs :) I don’t really use her though...She isn’t on my main or secondary team...rip

Bennet: Benny’s adventure team!!! He and Barbara swap spots on my main team a lot! He’s a great healer! Not as good as Barb but I’m still working on him!! He’s kinda just there for moral support, he’s too under leveled to really do any damage :’) he’s just...a cute lil guy :’) I like having him on my team :’) his play style is very basic which makes it easy to swap him in and out for other characters

Xingqiu: his ult and charged attacks take FOREVER to load!! I love him as a character but I have no patience for load times. Off to the sidelines he goes! He’s cool and fun but man!!! In the heat of battle I don’t have time to wait!! I need that hydro burst so I can get an elemental reaction!! I don’t have 30 seconds to wait, my liege!!

Aether: there’s a difference between Anemo traveler and Geo traveler!! Geo traveler is better BUT when he produces thise rock balls?? That’s beyond obnoxious especially in domains. STOP MAKING BALLS IN DOMAINS!!! You’re just raising enemies into the air and now your teammates can’t reach!! The geo ult is good though :) Anemo traveler is alright, I cant complain but geo is just superior :)

Albedo: I don’t have him but I tried him out during his character trial...He’s hot but I’m just not a huge fan of his play style. He summons an elevator...Eh. If I had him he would kinda just...sit on the sidelines

Keqing: oh wow she is just SO AWESOME!! If I got her instead of Diluc I honestly wouldn’t be mad. I’d have to frantically rearrange my teams for he to fit somewhere but it would be worth it. Her character trial showed me how fast she is and how fast her ult/charged attacks charge up! Her ult looks AMAZING and if I activated a shield around her and Kaeya’s ice thing I think she’d obliterated domains! I’d love to have her on my team golly jeez

Qiqi: Again, not a fan of the small characters :( people use her in domains all the time and she’s an awesome healer! But if I had her I probably would not use her :/ anti child

Polearms:

Zhongli: I can’t imagine NOT using him on my team. Having a shield is a must because I’m a huge wimp!! And I’ve finally built him enough that he will occasionally do 10k damage...Only when he feels like it I guess. It’s happened like 4 times and I just scream every time it’s awesome!! His burst attack is awesome and I know I’ve said it already but I enjoy being up close when fighting, not standing and shooting from the side. When his shield is up, this man takes zero damage and just deals hits left and right!! He’s a staple for my team for sure

Xiao: I really loved his story quest and his fighting style is fun HOWEVER he is just....Annoying to fight with. He takes damage with his own ult attack???? That’s obnoxious! And then I have to make room on my team for a support when I play with him :/ it isn’t a huge deal, I enjoy playing with Barbara and Bennet but my dream team (Zhongli, Venti, Kaeya and Xiao) just can’t work out cause Xiao’s constantly on life support. Other than that, I like his dash attacks and even though his ult kills him, it deals a lot of damage! Still building him up to add him to the main team :)

Xiangling: I love her, she’s adorable and I love Gouba but I just poured all of my materials into Bennet and everyone else so I never got the chance to properly build her. She’s kinda just stuck at level 31....Waiting for her chance to be on a team. I used to use her often when I was like ar20! I’ve kinda grown away from her, I’m not even sure why I guess :’) her play style is fine! I just like...Other characters more ;-; I feel mean saying that lmao she’s very fun!! Just not what I’m looking for

Honorable polearm mentions:

Hu Tao: She literally comes out tomorrow but I’m not gonna wait to try her out before posting this. Her play style looks very fun! The way she phases through enemies is strange but very cool!!! I’m a bit confused about the way she moves but hey! I’ll get to do her character trial and see for myself! Very excited about her being introduced to the game

Rosaria: we haven’t gotten a preview of her fighting style but I feel bad about leaving her out! She’s close to being released! She deserves recognition!

My thumbs are cramping....remember that every character is awesome and they all have back stories and cool voice lines! This is all my opinion and my team builds! Nothing against these guys and gals! :)

Aimless rambling that nobody asked for: Teams and playstyle

I don’t know if anyone else has this, but I have some characters that I’m used to having in certain party slots to a point where I can’t function as efficiently if they’re elsewhere. I’ll just put that downstairs.

1 used to be reserved for the Traveler, now it’s where the healer goes.

2 is for exploration characters, so Mona has firmly established dominance over this slot. I can and have pressed 2 and dashed into the ocean on my alt, who uses Kaeya and his long man-legs as my explorer. Keqing will likely be joining the Slot 2 team.

3 is for the main DPS. Beidou lived here for a good two months. I can perform a pretty quick character switch and block, but only if she’s in Slot 3. Beidou can’t be anywhere else. Nowadays, Diluc has moved into this slot.

4 is basically a free slot, but that spot is shared Ningguang, Xiangling, and Chongyun. This is also Albedo’s first choice spot.

However, there are some characters that can function just fine in a couple of spots when the time calls for it. Spiral Abyss comes to mind. Albedo and Fischl both work best in 4, but he can function fine in 2 if there are characters that need that slot. Diluc can be anywhere except 1.

So, that’s what it’s like in my brain. It really makes Co-op an... experience. Anyway.

The first team that I really remember using that didn’t use any of the intro characters is Traveler, Barbara, Beidou, Ningguang. Needing to switch to Xiangling to do ANYTHING related to fire made me die inside a bit. I liked using her at first, but the bell on her sash rings at a particularly annoying pitch and it hurts. Later, I switched Ningguang out for Chongyun. I’d main him for a while, as I am an Ice Enthusiast, but he talked too much and I got tired of hearing about exorcism, so I went back to Beidou.

At some point before this time (actually I think the same pull as Noelle), I’d gotten Xingqiu, but I never got around to building him. At the time, he was ranked pretty low and now, I don’t know what to do with him. Whoops.

Also, I had to use Lisa for Oceanid until I got Fischl, who I still don’t know how to use particularly efficiently. It’s a shame, I quite like archer characters in most games. I just wish headshots were more rewarding, or there was a tighter zoom, or something.

Anyway, Mona was my first 5* and I now know that she was my pity drop who showed up instead of Tartarsauce, so big oof there. However, I’m not sure I’m as mad as I could be, because I do enjoy having her. The taunting AoE turret is nice and has lovely chemistry with Chongyun, her burst is decent CC, she helps out at the crafting table, and most importantly: Mona Go Zoom. So it’s around this time, I start taking the Traveler out of my team and it becomes Barbara, Mona, Beidou, Chongyun. Beidou has firmly marked her place in Slot 3 and Slot 1 becomes the designated Healer spot.

The Dragonspine update was... A Time. I went in wanting Sucrose for her special HP% rez food and she brought Bennett, Qiqi, and Albedo with her. I probably would have leveled Bennett if I knew he was good at the time, but his young, youthful energetic energy disgruntles the bitterness in my jaded soul. So my Dragonspine team was Qiqi, Mona, Beidou, Chongyun/Albedo, switching only to Xiangling to light torches.

The arrival of Diluc meant several things. Finally, a good arsonist. Torch lighter, rock breaker, fast runner, pigeon murderer, Xiangling can retire at last. He’d sometimes replace Mona when I felt like playing Big Sword Energy, but he’d finally replace Beidou as main DPS.

Minor aside, he’s actually the reason I picked up the game. I do 3D animation as a hobby and my current project involves a character using a large sword. I’ve been using various references and when I saw the collected miscellany, I thought “Hey, that looks like it would be a fun reference.” Ehheh.

Mistakes were made.
