HELP WANTED (PART 1)
WOLF QUIRK F!READER x HANTA SERO x EIJIRO KIRISHIMA WORD COUNT: 1,724 TW/CW: BULLYING MENTION, PARENTAL ABANDONMENT, PANIC ATTACK MENTION (ONCE)
NOTES: I’ll make a banner for this series whenever I get my shit together on Photoshop, lol. I’ve been on a Sero/Kiri thing lately plus this was brewing in my head so I wanted to hurry and type it all down before I forgot it.
Tumblr media
“ HELP WANTED! 3RD AND FINAL ROOMMATE FOR A 3 BEDROOM, 2 BATH HOUSE. — MUST BE RESPONSIBLE AND RELIABLE. TEXT THE NUMBER FOR ANY QUESTIONS. NAME IS KIRI. ”
You had been staring at this ad for a couple of days now. Surely they must have found someone by now, right? You were new around the area and being on your own, wasn’t quite what you had imagined. Your parents? Well, your mom up and decided to leave you behind after bringing you home from the hospital and your dad.. He’s always been there but you wanted to prove you could finally be on your own. You were 24 for God’s sake, of course you could do it, but sometimes— you found yourself wondering if you bit off more than you could chew. Living in this big city full of crazy quirks of all kind, including yours, it was pretty overwhelming.
Oh, your quirk? Well, you were part wolf and people could tell that from looking at you, due to your pointed black ears that rested on either side of the top of your head plus a tail that was pretty fluffy and was also black in color.. Can’t forget the fangs that you have, too. Your howl could deafen someone for a brief amount of time, distracting them. You also had the agility which mean you could run— fast.
Growing up wasn’t easy at all. You were often teased about your appearance. Kids would pull your tail, thinking it didn’t hurt you when in reality, it did. You spent majority of your childhood wondering why you had to have such an awful quirk, blaming your father since he was also part wolf. However, as you got older, you became more mature and focused more on yourself. Of course, you apologized to your father, which brought the two of your closer, allowing you to confess the reasoning behind why your child days were so… dark and why you lashed out in such ways.
Your father was a strong man, taking on a few jobs at a time to support you and his self while also keeping the bills paid on time. You admired him for that but you didn’t want to depend on him anymore which led you to where you are right this second— staring at this damned ad, wondering when you’re going to build up some type of courage to text the number. “Oh, for all that is holy, just do it.” You grew tired of being scared so you brought out your phone and texted the number.
TO KIRI: Hey… I was texting about your ad about needing a third roommate and wanted to inquire about it, if you haven’t found anyone yet.
You thought about it again.. What if it was a scam? Oh, you literally brought your palm to your forehead, tapping it a times then halted when your phone buzzed. You looked at the screen, eyes widening in surprise because it was the number from the ad. You had your phone set to where you wouldn’t be able to see previews of your messages unless you unlocked it fully. You braced yourself for a ‘Sorry, we’ve found someone’ or something along those lines. You wouldn’t be surprised since it did take you forever to even act on this whole thing. You swiped left on the message, unlocked your phone, squeezing your eyes shut then took a deep breath. Your right eye slowly opened, eyesight adjusting to the brightness of your screen then falling amongst the words of this Kiri’s response. Your other eye shot open in shock, both your ears perking up.
FROM KIRI: Awesome! We haven’t really had any luck with anyone reliable.. so since that’s the case.. would you mind if me and the other roommate meet you for, say.. coffee? How’s tomorrow morning sound around 8:30-ish?
Thinking to yourself, were you reliable? Of course, you were. Responsible? Absolutely. You worked at a local animal shelter, coincidentally. You worked more with dogs than cats, though, which came with the territory. Dogs obviously gravitated more to you given your natural wolf scent that only they detected with their sense of smell. Recently, you were moved into a management position so you were paid pretty well, which struck up this whole idea to be on your own, per se. Before you could think any further, did you work tomorrow? No, perfect. You rolled over onto your stomach on your bed, tail moving from side-to-side.
TO KIRI: Of course! That sounds great. There’s a coffee shop a few blocks from where I currently stay.. called Camille’s Cafe, not sure if you have heard of it or would prefer something else?
Were you coming off pushy? Demanding? At this point, you didn’t know and you were so nervous that it was driving you crazy but before you could go into panic mode— you got a text back, agreeing on the meeting place and everything. That was… easy.. almost too easy.. Either way, you were thankful they wanted to meet in a public setting in case they really were scammers. That’s when the thought had hit you.. What if they were guys? Kiri didn’t necessarily sound like a guy’s name.. did it? You laughed at your overthinking. No way these were guys.
With that, you looked at the clock on your bedroom wall, it reading 9:30 PM. You decided to go ahead and settle into bed to get enough rest so you didn’t look like a walking zombie when you met your potential roommates for coffee. You plugged in your phone to the charger and laid down, laying awake for an extra hour or so before drifting to sleep.
Tumblr media
After a long day of getting phone call after phone call, text after text from different people saying they were interested in their ad, Eijiro and Hanta were close to giving up. Everyone who showed interest had some type of flaw about them, whether it be a bad history of paying rent on time or being an awful roommate in the past. It was becoming annoying, to say the very least. After denying everyone who reached out, Eijiro thought it was best to just block all the numbers to prevent further contact.
“Bro, I’m beginning to lose hope. We probably won’t ever find someone else to move in with us.” Hanta sat down on the couch in the living room with a sigh, kicking his feet up on the table in front of him. “Might as well talk to Kats about ditching that condo he’s in to move in over here with us.” They had thought about that a few times but even the slight mention of a roommate the first time, their friend, Katsuki, was the first to say not to even consider him because he valued his privacy. They didn’t press further because they understood and knew how he was.
Eijiro sat on the other end of the couch, directly across from Hanta, leaning forward to prop his elbows on his knees and his head on his hands. “You know exactly how that’ll go, Sero. I say the next person that texts us, we invite to coffee and really figure shit out. It’s been days since we posted that ad, and you know that we need the help we can get.” Hanta nodded in agreement then both their eyes shot down to Eijiro’s phone that lit up with a unsaved number, inquiring about the roommate situation. Hanta moved over to the same side as where Eijiro was to sit down once the red head picked up his phone to look at the message.
“Huh, look at that! It’s almost like this person heard you.” Hanta chuckled, looking over the message. “What do you think? Coffee?” Eijiro nodded then sent his first text out in response to the inquirer.
TO (YOU): Awesome! We haven’t really had any luck with anyone reliable.. so since that’s the case.. would you mind if me and the other roommate meet you for, say.. coffee? How’s tomorrow morning sound around 8:30-ish?
Sero scowled, “8:30 in the morning, dude? You really must be desperate because we sleep till like noon on our days off. That or you’re hoping it’s a girl.” He laughed then got up to circle around the furniture to head to the kitchen. “I mean, it might be a girl… and it might be good for us. Could teach us a few things.” Kirishima didn’t think about what all that last statement could entail but Sero, thankfully, didn’t catch onto it. “I guess so. Did they respond?” Just as soon as he finished asking his question, another text came through.
“How do you feel about Camille’s down the road?” Kirishima looked over to Sero who thought for a minute then shrugged with a nod, “Alright, yeah. I could go for one of her bagels. We haven’t seen the lady in a while so we should pay her a visit.” Camille was an older woman who had a heart of gold and loved both Kirishima and Sero. They always were such gentleman when they came in but they stopped going once the crime rate escalated the past few weeks.
“That’s true. I told the person it sounded great so. Let’s head to bed so we can actually wake up early and look decent instead of a mess.” Kirishima rose from the sofa to head toward his room. Sero called out, “Wouldn’t have to get beauty sleep at all if you didn’t schedule this meeting at the crack ass of dawn.” With that, Kirishima held out his arm behind him, giving Sero the middle finger. “Stop your bitching and go to bed, princess.”
Sero laughed and both settled into bed for the night. While one went to sleep pretty quick, the other laid awake, wondering who this mystery person could be. The thought of whether it was a female or not, really stuck to Eijiro’s mind. He had hoped that if it was, they wouldn’t be scared away by the fact that they’d be living with two guys should they accept the offer at all. Kirishima wanted them to be as comfortable as possible and that’s what he intended on doing and without noticing, he drifted into a deep sleep.

Locked up - Bong Jaehyun
Pairings: reader x Jaehyun
Words: 2.203
Warnings: none
Masterlist
Tumblr media
You and Jaehyun have always been study buddies. You started tutoring him, because he needed help with maths and some other things. But you’ve become somewhat friends. He asked you to help him sometimes with his homework even though most of the time he didn’t even need the help. Outside of studying you didn’t talk to him that much. You mostly just said hi in the hallways when you two saw each other.
He had his big friend group. They are really popular in the school but not like the bad boys popular. They are all very nice and handsome. You had your two best friends. You’ve been friends since forever. They always tease you about Jaehyun but they know that its just jokes. You find him handsome yes, but you don’t have a crush on him.
This afternoon Jaehyun asked you to help him on this English assignment. So that’s why you are in the library at 8 o’clock at a friday evening. You sat down in-front of Jaehyun. He looked up and smiled. “Hi y/n. Thanks so much for coming I really need your help with this.” And he pointed at his assignment. “it's okay Jaehyun I didn't have anything to do anyway.” You said and started helping him with his assignment. It's a big assignment so it took some time. When you two are done you pack your bags and stand up. You walk to the exit, but when you try opening it it's locked.
“Hey Jaehyun, can you try opening this.” You ask him and he tries but can’t open it either. “huh that’s weird, why would they lock it.” He looks for a librarian but there is no-one there. “Oh no, they didn’t see us and just locked the place up.” He says and you look at him. “well what do we do now. I can’t call anyone, because my phone died” You said and sigh. “i guess we just have to stay the night here because my phone died too.”
“well I guess I’m just gonna do my homework then.” You say and he nods and does the same. After an hour of just homework you are done and so is he. “ugh I’m hungry I wish I had food.” You say. “yeah me too, don’t they have vending machines here?” “yeah but I don’t have money.” You answer. “oh I can buy something for you.” He says and you look at him. “It’s okay.” You say but at that moment your stomach starts growling. He stands up and gets something from the machine. “Here eat some.” You take it and thank him.
You two decide to play some games and that keeps you busy for an hour. You played hide and seek and a self made game with books. And stacking the books. You are beginning to get tired and start laying on a desk. “Hey y/n, we should hang out more often. This is kinda fun.” He says and you look at him “kinda fun, it thought I was really fun to be around.” You say and laugh. “sure it’s really fun being locked up in a library with you.” “okay okay, I get your point. But yeah we should hang out more. But your really popular.” You say and he looks at you. “what has that to do with it. It shouldn’t matter if I’m popular, I can hang out with who I want. And I like you y/n.” He says and after he realised what he said he puts his hands on his mouth.
You look at him but act like you didn’t hear him. “what did you say?” “oh that it shouldn’t matter who I hang out with.” He says and looks kind of relieved. “yeah true we could just hang out after school sometime.” You say and he nods. “i’m tired so I’m going to try to sleep on this desk.” You put you backpack under you head and try to sleep which takes some time but eventually you succeed.
When you wake up you are being shaken by Jaehyun. “Hey wake up, there’s someone coming in.” You wake up. And see the librarian opening the doors. “HEY WHAST ARE YOU TWO DOING HERE! GET OUT NOW AND I WON’T REPORT IT.” The man says and you hurry out the door. “i really need to go home but I had a fun time.” You say and he says goodbye. You go home and you mom asks where you’ve been. You tell her the story and she laughs. “next time take your charger, okay?” You nod and walk to your room.
time skip to Monday morning -
You walk to school and someone puts and arm around you. You think its one of your friends but when you look beside you, you see Jaehyun. “Hey y/n, how are you?” “better since I’ve slept in a real bed.” You say and he laughs. “thats good to hear, me too. Do you wanna hang out this afternoon and get some ice cream or anything else.” “I wish I could, but I have to babysit my little sister.” He looks kinda sad but then he jumps up  “I can help you, I’m great with kids and that way you aren’t bored.” You think about it and its actually a good idea. “yeah sure meet me at my locker after school and then we go to my house.” He looks very happy and then he walks you to class still with his arm around you.
You wave him goodbye and walk into the classroom. People start whispering when they see you. You sit down and your friends immediately walk up to you. “Why did Jaehyun walk you to class and he even had his arm around you. Are you two finally a thing now.” You kinda look confused. “No, we aren’t dating but something really funny happened last friday.” They smirk at you. “yah nothing dirty you perverts. We were stuck in the library and we hung out till it opened again.” They laugh and then one of them says “Well I wouldn’t be surprised if you two started dating and you two look so cute together too.” “He’s gonna help me babysit my little sister this afternoon.” And you three talk a little more.
School is finally over and you put some stuff in you locker. When you close is you get scared by Jaehyun standing there. “hey stop it I almost died of shock because of you.” He laughs and you walk to your house. When you walk in you scream “MOM I’M HOME.” She walks to the door in her uniform. “great honey, your sister is watching TV right now. And who did you bring with you? Is that maybe you boyfriend?” She says and smiles at Jaehyun. “No mom this is Jaehyun, he’s a friend from school and he is one that was also locked up in the library.” “Oh him, well nice to meet you. He’s cute so you should date him y/n. I wish we could talk more but I have to get to work, oh y/n its probably going to be a night shift so I put some money on the kitchen table. See you tomorrow.” She kisses your cheek and leaves.
“i’m so sorry about my mother. She’s basically a mother and a best friend so she teases me a lot.” You say “it’s okay she seems nice and she is right, I’m very cute. What about your dad?” “He divorced my mom when I was 3 so I don’t really know him.”  Then you two take off your shoes and walk to the living room and there’s your sister. “Soobin this is Jaehyun, come say hello.” And she runs to you to give you a hug. Then she looks at Jaehyun and he awkwardly opens his arms and Soobin also hugs him. “I’m Jaehyun and I’m going to help your sister.” “So will you play with my dolls too.” He nods and she looks very excited “she is so cute y/n, just like you.” You blush and Soobin pulls him to her dolls.
You look at them playing with her dolls. Then you realize you’ve been staring at Jaehyun for a while. You blush and right at that moment he looks up and you smile at him. “You were right, you are good with kids.” He laughs “I’m good at everything y/n, how have you not picked up on that yet.” And you laugh.
After a while you decide to order some pizza. “hey I’m going to order some pizza in the kitchen.” You walk to the kitchen and see the money and you look up the phone number of the restaurant. When you are done you walk back to the living room but right before the door you hear Jaehyun talking to Soobin. “Do you like my big sister?” “Yeah I like her and I said I’ve said it before but she didn’t hear me” so you did hear it correctly you think. You walk in and said “i did hear you Jaehyun, but I was scared to say I like you back.” And he looks back at you in shock. “Are you serious y/n.” And you nod but then you realize Soobin is still there. “Hey soobin do you wanna grab that toy that you just got from mom, so you can show Jaehyun.” And she runs upstairs.
“I can’t believe you like me back.” “How can I not, like my mom said you are very cute and also very nice.” “yeah but I’ve had a crush on you from the first day you started tutoring me.” Your eyes widen and you don’t know what to say. “So what are we now then?” You ask him. “Well would you like to be my girlfriend.” He asks you and you blush. “Yes of course I would love to be yours.” And he immediately hugs you.
Then Soobin comes back and puts herself in between you legs and you two look down. “I also want hugs.” Then Jaehyun picks her up and hugs you and her at the same time. When its getting late you put Soobin to bed. And walk back downstairs. “Thanks so much for helping me babysit her.” “well I think it’s going to happen a lot more now.” He says and just the thought of that makes you so happy. “Are you going to be all alone this night.” He asks you “yeah I think so, you can stay over if you would like.” “are you sure.” You nod “do you wanna share a bed or should I sleep on the couch.” He looks at you and acts like he is thinking about it. “what do you think should you sleep on the couch all alone or should you sleep in your bed with your boyfriend and you can cuddle him” “well that’s an easy choice isn’t it.” He smiles at you and hugs you
You watch a movie and cuddle against him. When it’s done you both go upstairs and get into bed. That night you fall asleep while cuddling you boyfriend. When you wake up you get out of bed and start getting ready. You walk downstairs and there’s your mother. “I saw that Jaehyun stayed the night, so is he you boyfriend now.” You look her in shock but then jaehyun walk in and he says “yeah I’m her boyfriend now and I hope you are okay with that miss.” “of course I’m okay with that Jaehyun, I didn’t give her the hint to date you for nothing. Also just call me mom.” She says and he smiles at your mom and then at you. “lets go to school now y/n.” And he takes your hand to the front door. “BYE MOM.” You both scream and you smile any him.
“what do you think they will say at school?” You ask him and he looks at you “i don’t know and I really don’t care. But you do have to meet my friends. I’ve already told them so much about you. And you have to sit with me at lunch because I won’t see you other wise.” “awh that’s cute but can my friends sit there as well I can’t leave them alone.” He nods “yeah of course a friend of you is a friend of me.”
When its lunch everybody in the whole school probably knows the news already. “hey I’m gonna sit with Jaehyun and his friends and you two need to come as well.” They laugh and say “nice joke y/n, like we could sit with the cool kids. Sure go sit with your boyfriend.” “I’m dead serious, so come with me.” They follow you and you sit down. They keep standing and then one of Jaehyun’s friends says “Are you two just gonna keep standing there, sit down.” They look kinda shocked but still sit down. Then you are bombarded with questions. Your sewer all of them and its seems like you just got 9 new friends.

A day at Disneyland; Chris Hemsworth x reader
*Author’s note*
Tumblr media
Hello and good afternoon everybody! So this is a request that I have had done for the past couple of days but I’ve been on a deadline with another request that I’m trying to get done before their bday tomorrow (I’m about half way done with it) but this one is probably my first ever Hemsworth story I had ever done (So I’ve done half of the Chris quartet). Now my knowledge of Disneyland is minimal to none cause I’ve never been to Cally so the only Disney experience I’ve had is Disneyworld down in Florida, but I hope I still did some justice for this fic.
No warnings except PURE, UNADULTERATED, TEETH-ROTTING G RATED FLUFF!!!

_______________________________________________________
I was packing up the car getting ready to prepare for the 2 and a half hour drive to downtown LA so that the kids and I could go to Disneyland.  My name is (y/n) (l/n) and I’ve been a single mom for three years.  My ex-husband and I were having some problems, constantly fighting until finally one stupid mistake on his part landed him in the LA prison.
Furious and disappointed, I filed for divorce because I didn’t want his bad influence to affect our children and it was hard on us, especially my eldest son Dean.  He and his daddy were close ever since he was born, but when I was forced to tell him that his daddy wasn’t ever gonna get out of prison, it was hard for him to cope.
It was tough raising not only 2 growing boys but a newborn baby girl at the same time.  My little girl, Leia will never get to know her father because of his stupidity and I don’t want to expose her to him. At first I thought I’d never get to have the father figure my kids needed because it was just me and my sister and my mom who was helping me raise my kids, my dad sadly passed away due to a stroke shortly after my second son Henry was born.
That was until by sheer luck of fate as I was coming home from the store when I accidentally dropped all my well-paid food, that a handsome blonde stranger came into my life.
I had no idea at the time who he was until Dean (whose obsessed with all things superheroes both Marvel and DC) that when we saw the second Avengers movie Age of Ultron, it was shocked to see that it was him.  Chris Hemsworth.
We kept in contact and whenever he wasn’t too busy, he’d come over for a visit and we’d have a couple of dinners.  Soon couple dinners turned into months’ worth of dinners, then starting a relationship until just recently about a year ago he moved in with me and the kids.  Right now he was busy filming “Avengers: End Game” down in his homeland of Australia.
One night as we were all facetiming with each other, Chris had given us a surprise.  He said that he and the entire cast would be in Disneyland to help promote the film and not only that, he got all four of us tickets to go throughout the park and spend an entire day at Disneyland.  The kids were so excited that they were finally gonna go to Disneyland, especially my little girl since she’s finally big enough to ride some of the rides.
Which leads us to here.  As I was putting the bags into the car I said.
“Dean, don’t forget to bring your chargers okay?”
“Yeah mom.”
“Leia, do you got your Simba plushie with you?”
“Right here mommy.” She exclaimed as she held out her stuffed Simba plushie that Chris had given her last Christmas.
“Henry you’ve got your lightsaber right?”
“Yeah, do you think I could really fly the Millennium Falcon?” he asked me.
“We’ll see. Okay Got the bags, toys, gaming consuls, DVD is all set up. Everyone got everything?” My kids all cheered out in choir unison. “So whose ready to go to Disneyland?” they all cheered and raised their hands and I continued, “Alright. Tickets are in my purse and off we go!” I started the car and started up the installed DVD player which played Leia’s and Henry’s favorite movie “Hercules”.
Thankfully with the help of a movie and Dean busy playing on his Nintendo, there wasn’t much complaining from the kids (which was perfect for me).  Finally after the long drive, we finally reached the archway of the entrance into Disneyland.
“We’re here! We’re here! Look over there I can see Woody!” All my kids were in pure awe as we drove under the archway, I could just feel from the front seat the energy these kids were about to unleash.  I was now waiting in line to pay for parking and when I had gotten up I greeted the worker and handed her my license and money.
But when she saw my picture she handed me not only my license but the cash back as well and she told me.
“No payment necessary ma’am, we’ve actually been told of a special reserve spot for you to go to.” At first I was confused but then it dawned on me.
“That Aussie I tell you what.”
“One of our workers will escort you to your special reserved spot.” It was then another worker came up and he asked if he could hop into the car so he could be my navigator. I allowed him in the passenger seat and he told me exactly where to go.
We drove around for about 5 minutes till we reached the reserved front corner entrance where standing there with sunglasses on was Chris.  He grinned and waved to us and the kids waved back to him.  I parked in the parking spot and as soon as I turned off the engine, all the kids raced out and glomped him.
“There are my favorite three little munchkins!” Chris proclaimed as he wrapped his arms around all three of my kids at the same time and even lifted them up and spun them around, making them laugh and cheer.
“And what about me? Am I just the cabbie driver? Or just some old maid here to serve your favorite three munchkins?” I teased.  Chris set my kids down and he said.
“On the contrary, you my lady are the beautiful good witch who protects and nurtures them. A witch that has put even a god like me under her spell.” He wrapped his arms around me, swaying me gently from side to side grinning down at me.  I grinned up at his sweet talk before our lips joined together only to be disrupted when a choir of voices cried out.
“EWWW!!!!” We separated to see all three of my kids with a look of disgust on their faces.
“Ahh no it’s not gross. Be patient soon enough all of you will be doing this.” Said Chris.
“Over my dead body.” I mocked.  “I want my babies to stay this young forever! Especially my little man.” I said as I walked up to my kids before hugging my eldest son close.  I swarmed his face with kisses and ruffled his ‘lion mane’ like hair that he inherited from his father.
“Mom! Mom, you’re messing with my mane!” Dean cried out as he tried to get out of my embrace. When I finally released him he backed away and tried to readjust his hair to that sweep-over hair that looked like it belonged back in the 1980’s.
“I need to plan an appointment to get your haircut mister.”
“No!” he then raced over to Chris and hid behind him.
“No worries mate, I won’t let any barber cut this hair of yours.” Chris said as he stroked my son’s hair.
“Coming from the very man whose worn the same long blonde wig for years.”
“Hey the last few movies I didn’t have to wear one. But this meeting isn’t about haircuts, now whose ready for a full fun day at Disneyland?!” The kids all raised their hands crying out ‘me! Me! Me! Me!’ “Awesome, already got our tickets, so let’s go out there and have a full day of family fun!” We all cheered before racing onward into the park.
There were so many rides that it was almost impossible to pick just one.  However my daughter who has always favored the merry-go-round no matter whether it was a state fair, amusement park or whatever, anytime she saw a Merry go round she wanted to go on it.
So as a nice little warmup, we all got in line for the merry-go-round.  We waited for I don’t know 5-10minutes in line before they let the next several people to go aboard.  My sons went straight for the two twin black horses while my baby girl went for a white stallion with a pink saddle on it.  As I was about to get on my horse, Chris came up and he said.
“Allow me my lady.”
“Why thank you good sir knight.” I mocked in probably the worst British accent I could muster. I felt his hands go to my waist and he gently hoisted me up and I ended up rising side-saddle but then what I didn’t expect was for Chris to get right behind me.  “Uhh Chris, I don’t think we’re allowed to do this.”
“Relax love, it’ll be okay.” He assured me.  The bell soon sounded off and soon an accordion version of ‘A dream is a wish’ started plaything through the speakers and the ride began.
All around us, kids were cheering and waving to their parents who were standing along the railings watching their kids ride all by themselves, young couples riding side by side holding hands or riding in the sleighs nonchalantly kissing each other.
I felt Chris take my hands in his and I felt his head gently lean against mine and a kiss at my temple.  I smiled and nuzzled against him as the ride continued to go on.
After the ride we continued to walk around the park riding more rides like the Mad Hatter’s teacup ride, and Toy Story Mania that was until we finally reached the famous Splash Mountain.
“Ohh mom look! Splash Mountain!” Henry proclaimed as he was now riding on top of Chris’ shoulders.
“I see it Henry.”
“Can we go on that next, please?”
“I guess we can, but I’m not sure if everyone’s tall enough to ride it.” I teased as I looked down at my daughter who was holding my hand.
“Yes I am mama! We measured me last month! I’m big enough.” She said as she pulled on my hand.
“Ohh that’s right, well let’s get a second opinion from the official park height measurements.” We all headed over to the line entrance of Splash Mountain and Leia immediately went up to the height chart.  “Okay, now stand still baby girl.” She hummed happily as she could barely contain her excitement. “No cheating now.” I told her in my mom voice and that made her stand still.
In the end, she was eligible to ride Splash Mountain.
“Okay, everyone stick together now.” Leia cheered happily and her brothers high-fived or fist-bumped her and even Chris did a double fist bump with her as he cheered and picked her up.
“Alright that’s my girl! I told you were growing like a weed!”
“Okay everyone let’s get into the line before it gets too long.” We all got in line and we waited. After what felt like forever and the kids complaining about when the line would move faster, hanging off both mine and Chris’ hands and arms, we finally got closer to the ride.  Since there were five of us we decided to divide up the group, I took Henry and Leia while Chris and Dean rode together, being the big boys that they were.
I got in the log first with the help of the ride attendant and I told Leia to get in first so that way she would be in the middle and Henry could ride up front.  Once we were buckled in and the guy gave us the all clear and the worker at the controls gave a thumbs up and soon we were off.
We went along the trail before going up the first hill.  Hearing the ticking of the controls as it took us up higher and higher before finally dropping us downward on the small uphill.  We were all cheering and laughing as we allowed the current to push us faster than we did when we first went out.
We were now shrouded in darkness as we were now inside the mountain before we would go off the big hill that would take our picture.
“Is this the big drop yet?” asked Leia.
“Yeah Leia, and watch this, this time I’m gonna have both my hands up in the air!” proclaimed Henry.
“Just make sure you don’t unbuckle yourself Henry.” We soon saw the light at the end of the tunnel and I said as I hugged my daughter’s waist. “Here we go.” As soon as we went off the drop-off we all screamed before finally splashing down at the bottom, getting soaked with water.  Both my kids were laughing and clapping. “So Leia, was it everything you thought it would be?”
“It was better mama! We went up and up and up till we went SHOOSH!!” I smiled down at her and I saw Henry was about to get out as soon as we saw the exit point.
“Hold on Henry, wait till we come to a complete stop.” Another worker soon placed their foot on our log and she said.
“Please watch your step as you exit the log, and we hope you have a good rest of your day at Disneyland. And don’t forget about our fireworks show tonight at 8pm in front of Cinderella’s castle.”  She helped my kids out and I got out on my own with a bit of help from her.  As we collected our stuff, we waited at the bottom of the exit point for Chris and Dean.
A few minutes later we saw them coming down (well Dean was more like racing down while Chris was the one walking).
“Did you boys have fun?”
“You bet we did, and how about you Princess? Was it exciting?” Chris asked as he scooped up my daughter and she laughed giddily.
“It was soo much fun, can we go on it again?”
“Maybe later, for now let’s go see our pictures.” He answered.  We walked further down the trail till we reached the giftshop and went up to the picture booth and waited and that’s when I pointed out for Henry and Leia.
“Look there we are.” All three of our faces filled with screams or joy.  Henry as promised had both of his hands in the air and his eyes were wide.  Meanwhile I turned and saw Chris and Dean’s pictures.  Chris had covered Dean’s eyes with his hands while his blue eyes looked like they were about to pop out of his sockets, I couldn’t help but laugh.
“Shall we get a copy?” he asked.
“I don’t know…..”
“C’mon this is my treat.”
“Baby I don’t want to feel like I’m taking advantage of your well-earned—”
“You’re not. This is me treating my lovely girl and her children on a day of fun.” He pecked my cheek before turning to the kids giving them the signal to back him up.
“Please mama, please!” They all ganged up against me giving me the puppy dog eyes, Chris included as he had all my kids in his arms looking right up at me.
“Ohh…..alright.” The kids cheered and then turned to Chris telling him what they wanted.  In the end Dean got a keychain, Henry got a small picture frame and Leia got a small locket, and Chris got him and I a copy of a picture frame of our picture.
After a few more rides, we all began to get hungry so we found ourselves a nice little food court restaurant called “Mickey’s Italian shop”.  As we ordered out food, like you would see on Youtube of the characters coming up to the guests just to hang out with the customers.
So we ended up having Mickey and Pluto coming over to our table.  Pluto being my daughter’s favorite Disney dog was thrilled and gave him a big hug and of course Pluto hugged her back before using that tongue that always hangs out to give her a ‘doggy kiss’.  It was so adorable that I just had to get a picture of them together, I also got some pictures of my boys with Mickey and Chris took one with me, Pluto and Mickey.
The day continued to press on and soon it was nightfall and everyone gathered at Cinderella’s castle to grab the best spot for the fireworks show that was about to happen in the next 7 minutes.  Even with the crowd of people that were already sitting down, we still managed to get good enough seats to still see the castle’s full stature.
After waiting a few more minutes the lights went off and we all cheered as the castle first lite up a lightshow for us.  Showing images and clips from various Disney films as ‘Circle of Life’ blared from the speakers.  Chris and I looked at each other before leaning against one another watching the light show and seeing the kids stare in awe.  Then the big event happened.
A giant red firework shot up and exploded into the sky.  Everyone oohed and ahhed as more fireworks began to fly into the sky before exploding into various colors and sizes.
“Did you have a good time love?”
“This was the most wonderful time I’ve ever had at Disneyland. Even when I was a kid, it didn’t compare to this.”
“I think this might get a little more interesting.” He said.  I was about to ask him what he meant by it but he pressed a finger to my lips and turned my chin back toward the sky.  We continued to watch the fireworks but then something happened I had never seen happen at a Disney firework show.
One firework that went off created an image of Mjolnir, Thor’s famed hammer before three fireworks fired off immediately spelling out.
“YOU AR WORTHY TO ME.” My jaw slowly dropped and I felt my heart stop.  Soon another phrase spelled across the sky, “WILL YOU LET ME BE WORTHY OF YOU?” I turned to Chris who now stood on one knee holding out a small ring.  A spotlight came down onto us and I could hear everyone gasp and cry out around us.
“(Y/n), these past few years have been the best years of my life. I didn’t think I would be happy, until you came into my life. Will you make me the happiest man in the world, and marry me?” he opened the box revealing the ring sparkling under the spotlight’s bright light.  I was in tears as I was covering my face with my hands.
Everyone around me, including my kids telling me to say yes.  I nodded rapidly and kissed him with as much passion as I could muster while all around us, everyone was applauding and my kids cam around us and hugged us.
“Ladies and gentlemen we’d like to have the honor of introducing Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth and his new fiancée!” I cupped his cheeks and he kissed my forehead, down my cheek before reclaiming my lips with his.

September 1st, 2017
Ring! Ring! Ring!
Damian opened his eyes at the sound of his phone, stretching a bit before reaching for it. He grabbed it off the coffee table and looked to see who was calling his at 11:45 pm.
"Give me a good god damn reason as to why you're calling me when I am asleep," Damian said when he answered the phone, moving Thomas' head off his lap before standing up from the couch.
"Dammy, gurl, how do you talk to a cute guy?" Remy asked, completely ignoring what Damian said. Damian raised an eyebrow at Remy's question, walking into the kitchen and grabbing an apple from the fruit bowl.
"Uh, why?"
"Because there's a cute guy here and I've been awkward flirting with him the whole time and I want his number!"
"Have you tried asking him for his number?"
Remy went quiet for a moment, leaving Damian to wait for a response while standing in the middle of the kitchen. "Um, no, I didn't ask him," Remy answered, his voice lowering in embarrassment. Damian chuckled a bit, getting an annoyed groan from Remy.
"It's not funny, Dammy, just help me!" Remy begged.
"Okay, okay. First off, remain calm when you're asking for his number. Second off, if he says no, move on," Damian suggested, making Remy chuckled this time.
"Gurl, he's been flirting with me as well. I'm pretty sure he won't say no," Remy said. Damian rolled his eyes, taking a bite of his apple. "If you say so but don't come crying to me if he does," Damian responded.
"Deal. Also, while I'm on the phone, what's Thomas doing at the moment?" Remy questioned.
"Thomas' sleeping on the couch. He's been sleeping since like 10," Damian answered, taking another bite of his apple. A quiet 'mhm' came from Remy's end, "Okay, well, I'm gonna let you go. I got a job to do."
"Alrighty, see you when you get home," Damian replied. The two said quick good-byes before Remy hung up, walking back to the bar counter. Emile was sitting at the counter, waiting for Remy to return.
"Sorry about taking so long, my friend and I got a bit caught up in our conversation," Remy said, stepping behind the counter.
"It's okay, no need to be sorry. Besides, the conversation was probably important," Emile replied.
"Not really. All I did was ask him for some advice on something and asked about Thomas," Remy explained. Emile raised his eyebrow when Remy mentioned Thomas, automatically remembering that Roman had brought up earlier that Remy had his own kid. "Let me guess, Thomas is your kid?" Emile asked, resting his elbows on the countertop.
Remy nodded, serving three bottles of beer to a customer quickly. "Yeah, he's a sweet kid honestly. He's always willing to help others and defend what's right. For example, back when Thomas had finished fifth grade, one of the soccer moms made a comment about me being a single parent and being gay and Thomas just set her straight right then and there," Remy explained, smiling to himself as he thought about that memory.
"Well, Thomas is a lucky kid to have a dad like you, Remy," Emile stated. Remy laughed a bit, leaning on the counter. "And I'm a lucky dad to have a kid like Thomas," Remy added. Emile smiled, laughing slightly. Remy couldn't help by laugh once again. Emile's laugh was contagious and even after knowing him for only a few hours, Remy loved it.
"So, tell me, Emile, do you have any kids?" Remy asked.
"Mhm. I got two of them; Elliott and Patton," Emile answered, taking a sip of his soda, "I adopted Elliott a few years back when they were just starting middle school. They didn't like me at first but later on, Elliott finally warmed up to me," Emile explained.
"How old are your two?" Remy questioned, cleaning down a part of the counter.
"Elliott is 17 and Patton is 15. How old is Thomas?" Emile asked back.
"He's 14," Remy answered as he tossed the cleaning rag in a bin of water behind him.
"Wow, that means he's just starting high school then, right?" Emile questioned. Remy nodded again, letting out a 'mhm'.
The two kept talking, discussing small topics like their kids, their favorite memories with their kids, what their hobbies are, things like that. They kept talking up until Emile, Logan, Roman, Larry, and Dot had to leave.
But before they all left, Emile turned towards Remy and asked him a question, "Hey Remy, before I leave, can I possibly get your number? So we can get to know each other better, you know?"
Remy nodded, grabbing his notepad and his pen then scribbled his number down(but he still made it readable). Remy then ripped it off the pad and gave it to Emile, smiling a bit. "Here you go, cutie. I can't wait to hear from you," Remy said.
"And I can't wait to talk to you," Emile replied, smiling.
Remy said 'bye' to Emile, waving to him as he left. "Let me guess, that's the one who claimed your heart," Nate suggested as he walked up next to Remy.
"Yup and he asked me for my number," Remy responded, walking away from the edge of the counter. Nate followed him, still talking, "So, I assume that you gave it to him."
"Of course I did. I'd be a uomo pazzo if I didn't," Remy explained, grabbing the stranded coasters scattered across the counter before tossing them in a bin. Nate nodded in agreement, serving a couple beers. "Sooo, what's his name?" Nate asked, acting like one of those nosey dads finding out his daughter's boyfriend's name.
"His name's Emile. I don't know his last name though," Remy answered as he rang up a small group of customers at the cash register. A small curious hum came from Nate as Remy finished up at the cash register.
Remy felt his phone buzz in his back pocket and grabbed it, looking at the screen. It was Emile, he had actually texted Remy.
Unknown: Hey :)
You: Hey yourself, cutie ;)
"Oooh, is that Emile?" Nate asked, looking over Remy's shoulder. He nodded, pushing Nate away a bit. Remy then quickly saved Emile's number into his phone, tempting to add an emoji next to his name.
Emile: Just wanted to make sure this was the right number because you know how some people are
You: I know, I get it. That's completely understandable
Emile: At least you're not like some people :)
You: Yeah :)
"Yo, Remy, the boss is giving you that 'get back to work' glare again," Nate said, motioning towards their boss across the bar. Remy glanced over at their boss for a few seconds, turning away quickly.
"K, let me tell Emile that I gotta go," Remy responded, making a gesture with his phone. Nate nodded before going back to serve customers on the other end of the counter.
You: Hey, I gotta get back to work but I'll text you later, promise
Emile: Okay, have fun with the rest of your shift
You: I'll try to lol
After that, Remy stuffed his phone in its original spot in his back pocket then went back to serving the customers at the counter their drinks.
September 2nd, 2017
Remy put the car into park before sighing, resting his head on the steering wheel. He was so damn tired despite working only four hours that night and he actually was considering sleeping in the car instead of dragging himself inside to his nice comfy and warm bed.
Yeah, Remy's not sleeping in the car.
He took the keys out of the ignition, gathered his things, and got out of the car, locking it behind him. Remy walked up to the front door and unlocked it, pushing his way. Before shutting the door, he noticed Thomas and Damian asleep on the couch. Remy smiled a bit, closing the door quietly.
He put the keys on the table by the front door and took his shoes off, placing them on the mat by the table. He went over to the couch and kissed Thomas' forehead, mumbling a "see you when you wake up" under his breath before walking away.
As Remy made his way to his bedroom, he took his jacket and shirt off while he walked. He tossed them in the laundry basket by his door then took his jeans off, replacing them with a pair of basketball shorts. Remy plugged his phone in by his bed before flopping down on in, sighing a bit.
His thoughts immediately went to Emile. God dammit, Remy could not get the man out of his mind. Who gave that man any right to be as cute as he was with his curly and wavy hair, his golden brown eyes, and his cute laugh?
Remy sighed again, burying his face in his pillow. "Oh my god Remy, you are so gay," Remy mumbled to himself. He covered himself up with the blankets on his bed, relaxing a bit. Remy closed his eyes, taking a deep breath and releasing it, allowing sleep to wash over him slowly.
***
"Dad, it's 10 in the morning, wake up!"
Remy groaned as he opened his eyes, seeing Thomas standing in front of him. "Yeah and that means I'm sleeping in till noon," Remy said, turning away from Thomas.
"Daaaaaad," Thomas whined, laying on top of Remy, "Come on. Uncle Damian already left for work and I'm booored."
"And I'm tired from working, kid," Remy replied, attempting(but not really trying) to push Thomas off of him. Thomas had a tight grip on Remy, almost causing them both to fall off the bed. The teen laughed, still holding onto his dad.
"Okay, okay, I'm getting up. Now get out so I can get dressed," Remy finally commented, making Thomas let go of him and cheered a little then left Remy alone in his room. Remy stayed laying down in bed for a few moments before sitting up, stretching a bit. He grabbed his phone off it's charger, scrolling through the notifications quickly.
Remy then set his phone back down and stood up, going to his dresser. He quickly grabbed a pair of jeans and a white t-shirt, taking off his shorts and putting the jeans and shirt on. Remy looked in the mirror, fixing his hair a bit then walked back to his bed and grabbed his phone, shoving it in his pocket.
Remy made his way into the kitchen, where Thomas was eating a bowl of cereal.
"So, kid, what's the plan for today?" Remy asked as he started up the coffee machine.
"I wanna go visit Uncle Damian at work later,"
"That means we would either have to walk or ride our bikes,"
"Walking works,"
"Perfect. I didn't want to dig out the bikes anyways,"
Thomas laughed a bit, making Remy chuckle as he poured the newly brewed coffee into his mug. "Hey, lemme get a bite of your cereal," Remy suggested, standing in front of Thomas. The teen scooped some cereal up with his spoon then offered it to his dad. Remy ate the cereal and washed it down with his coffee.
"Thanks Thomas,"
"You're welcome, Dad,"
Remy smiled as he chugged the rest of his coffee, placing the empty mug in the sink. Thomas finished the rest of his cereal then drank the milk from the bowl before handing the bowl and spoon to his dad. Remy took them and placed them in the sink. "I'm gonna wash these up quick and while I'm doing that you go brush your teeth. Deal?" Remy suggested, looking at Thomas.
"Deal," Thomas replied, going off to the bathroom. Remy chuckled as he started to wash the three dishes in the sink.
When he finished, Remy dried his hands on a towel and walked to the bathroom, humming softly. He walked in the bathroom just as Thomas got done brushing his teeth.
"Go meet me in the living room, bud. I'll be in there in a bit," Remy said. Thomas nodded and walked out of the bathroom before Remy walked in.
Remy started humming again as he began his usual morning routine. Remy started with washing his face, using a normal washcloth and warm water(he might have had used an elastic headband to hold up his hair). Once he finished washing his face, Remy brushed his teeth, his humming getting choppy as he did so. After Remy finished brushing his teeth, he took the headband off before grabbing his hair brush and his hair gel, working on his hair.
When Remy finished doing his hair, he grabbed his sunglasses from the shelf in the mirror and put them on, flashing himself a smile in the mirror. "Lookin' good today, Remus. Lookin' good," Remy told himself before making his way out of the bathroom and towards the living room.
"Ready to go, Thomas?" Remy asked when he walked in the living room. Thomas looked up from his phone at the sound of his dad's voice. "Yeah," Thomas answered, putting his phone in his pocket.
"Great! Let me get my shoes on then we can leave,"
"Can I wait outside?"
"If you want, it's not gonna take that long,"
"Knowing you, I'll be waiting for at least 10 minutes,"
"Oh whatever! You sound like Damian when you say that,"
Thomas laughed, opening the front door and walked out, closing it behind him. Remy watched him and chuckled a bit, a smile on his face.
Man, Remy love that kid. Thomas was his pride and joy. If Remy had the time, he would make a list of things he was glad to have and at the top of that list would be Thomas' name.
He sighed softly, grabbing the shoes he had worn to work the night before and put them on, tying the laces on both shoes quickly. Remy then grabbed his signature leather coat and put that on before picking up his messenger bag and placed that on his shoulder.
Remy opened the front door and walked out, closing and locking it behind him.
"You got everything?" Remy asked, looking at Thomas, who was sitting on the empty driveway. Thomas nodded once again, standing up from his spot on the driveway.
"Awesome. Let's get a moving so we can beat the early lunch traffic," Remy suggested.
"Agree," Thomas said, walking over to his dad.
The two then started their adventure, as Remy called it, to the pet shop down town, already planning on how to bother Damian at work.

the charcaters are aged up in this.
PART 2 / PART 3
Tumblr media
You’d never planned on working here for longer than a year. At first it was a job to save up, to save up and accomplish your dreams and goals once you finished school. But now you were going on three years later, 19 years old and sad.
You had dreams, you still had dreams but they seemed to wash further and further away with every coffee you made in this city.
Today was another usual day at the coffee store, it was a rainy winter afternoon and the customer intake had been way above average. Everyone wanting to get out of the freezing cold. Flat out was an understatement as you had made coffee, after coffee, after coffee all day long.
Soon enough it was nearing closing time. Most the café had been cleaned up ready for tomorrow. The rest of the employees had also finished, so it was just you, making a few of the last coffee’s when people came in at this late time. The only thing keeping you sane was knowing you could go home and watch your favourite movie IT.
You giggled remembering when the movie came out in 2017, you were the same age as the actors in the movie at the time. So of course, here you were now years later in 2022 still drooling over Finn Wolfhard your celebrity crush for as long as you could remember. Who over the years had only seemed to become more and more famous, and more and more attractive.
You looked out the window pondering, counting down the seconds until you could completely close and go home. That was until you were shaken out of your thoughts when the door flung open causing the bell above it to smash around aggressively. Your head snapped towards the door eyeing the male that had just entered the café, as he panted leaning on his knees holding himself upright.
“Are you okay? That was a pretty extravagant entrance.” You giggled, the guy chuckled and looked up, causing you to take a short breath in, your eyes practically popped out of your head.
There by the front door, of the average café you worked in, which you hated with a passion was none other than Finn Wolfhard. You blinked a few times as you subtly brought your arm to wherever your skin was bare, pinching yourself to see if you were just imagining this and he would float away.
Nope. Still there.
“Could I stay here for a while?” Finn asked shaking you out of your trance, “Need to hide from the crazy people chasing me.” Letting out a shaky breath you furiously nodded your head, making him laugh again. “But while I’m here, could I get a coffee?” he asked politely, pulling out his wallet. “Well I was supposed to close up, but I’m sure one last coffee won’t hurt,” you laughed, “I’ll just put the closed sign up so no one else can come in.”
You wondered over to the door, switching the sign around so it said closed. Then walked back, Finn went to hand you the money. “No no, I’ll make you one for free,” you shrugged. Finn frowned, “No I insist…” he looked down at your badge, “…(y/n).”
“I’ve already closed up the till.” You responded “Can’t be bothered to set it back up again for one coffee.” Finn laughed, “Okay but I owe you now.”
You made the coffee in no time, you weren’t the best barista at this café for no reason.
Walking over to where Finn was sat you handed him his coffee, his eyes scanned you and you felt a blush grow over your cheeks. You sat down across from him and smiled, him smiling back at you. That how it stayed for quite a while, he talked all about filming, directing and being in his band Calpurnia.
He talked about the fame, the paparazzi, how he loved it all but sometimes he wished he could have more moments like these, with normal people. At this point you had gotten up so you could continue to pack up while you spoke to him. You’d practically forgotten you were talking to Finn Wolfhard, and it felt more like you were just talking to an old friend.
He asked you about your life, and you explained you had dreams but here you were stuck at this coffee store like had been for the past 3 years. You wanted to be a musician, change the world with music but now you felt lost, you’d gotten past the point of saving up to accomplish your dreams and you could see yourself slowly turning into your parents and their parents before them. Stuck in this town.
Once you had finished packing up, Finn got up from his chair and walked with you to the front door. You both exited and you locked up. He was still drinking that damn coffee, boy was that boy slow.
“Well I guess this is where I bid you farewell (y/n)” he said smiling, but you could see he looked sad causing you to blush for the millionth time. “Can’t be out in the open for too long, or someone will see me.”
“I could give you a lift to wherever if you’d like?” you asked, his face brightened back up again. “That would be amazing if you could, thanks so much (y/n).”
You walked over to your small car unlocking it. Finn hopped in the passenger side and you got into the driver’s side. You started driving and Finn proceeded to direct you to his hotel, which happened to be quite far away from where you lived, but you didn’t mind, this was practically a once in a life time opportunity.
Once you arrived Finn sighed, all throughout the ride you had questioned in your brain whether you should ask if you could keep in contact or something. But remembering what he spoke about in the Café, about fans and paparazzi you ultimately decided against it. Surely if it was fate, or if you were meant to stay in contact soon enough you would see each other again. Well that’s what you hoped at least.
Finn jumped out of the car, shutting the door behind himself. You wound down the window and smiled at him. “Well it was nice meeting you Finn, I forgot to mention earlier that I’m a big fan of your work.” You hadn’t actually forgot, you just hadn’t found the right time to mention it. It was Finns turn to blush this time.
“Aw thanks, (y/n). Nice meeting you too.” He replied.
You said your goodbyes and drove away, Finn waving to you from the hotel, you grinned and waved back. The car ride home, was a lot lonelier now that Finn was gone but time went by pretty fast as you were caught up in your own thoughts.
Once you arrived home, you picked up your stuff and unplugged your phone from the charger in the car, which lead you to notice that Finn had left his coffee cup in the holder of your car. Chuckling to yourself you quickly grabbed it before locking your car and heading inside.
You hung up your coat and scrolled through your social media, as you lazily shuffled through your house towards your bin.
As you went to throw the cup in the bin, you noticed some markings on the cup, ones that weren’t usually there to say the least. Spinning the cup around you gasped for the second time that day as you read the messy handwriting on the cup.
“I owe you for this coffee, so maybe I could pay you back with a date? Text me xxxx xxx xxx – Finn”
You blushed, pulling out your phone. You typed in the number and wrote your message.
“Well Finn Wolfhard, you’re lucky I didn’t just throw away the coffee cup.”

From: @babyish14
The sun shone brightly through the window as Barry watched the slumbering form next to him. He had awoken earlier and sped through his shower to return and watch her sleep.
The light partially cast itself on his wife’s face and illuminated the curls of her hair that had slipped through her wrap.  His wife.  It was something he had dreamed about for years and there were days he couldn’t believe it was their reality. He continued to watch her as she cuddled into the warmth of the blankets and his body. The light growl from his stomach broke his gaze and prompted him to cook breakfast on this Christmas morning. He rose from the bed and his feet lightly tapped across the chilled floor to the kitchenette their cabin provided.
It was the smell of sizzling bacon that woke Iris West-Allen from her well earned slumber. She was surprised, but glad when Barry had them pack and brought them up to this winter retreat as an early Christmas gift. After all the drama of recent weeks, it felt great to get decent amounts of sleep and non-interrupted quality time as a married couple. They planned to spend a few days here and return home on Christmas day.
“Morning, Barry.”
“Morning, Sweetheart. I hope you’re ready for this gourmet breakfast.”
Iris laughed. “From the way it smells, I’m definitely ready.”
As Barry finished cooking their breakfast, Iris began looking through the notifications on her phone.
Dad: Merry Christmas, Baby Girl! See you soon! Love you!
Cecile: Merry Christmas, Iris! I’m excited about your gift lol. Till this afternoon!
Linda: A foot massage after my jogs is what I need! Thank you for the massager! Wishing you and Barry a great first Christmas!
Wally: Can you folks get here so I can open my gifts?
She laughed at the last message. If there’s anything they had in common, it was their impatience for Christmas gifts.
Iris (to Dad): Merry Christmas, Dad! We’ll finish up breakfast and be on our way. Love you! <3
Iris (to Cecile): Merry Christmas to you too Cecile! I’m excited too lol. See you soon!
Iris (to Linda): You’re welcome, girl! And thank you! Have a great Christmas! Can’t wait to see you for New Year’s eve!
Iris (to Wally): Well, Merry Christmas to you too lol. Tell Dad to let you open one gift.
As she placed her phone back on the nightstand, she noticed the flashing red light on the in-room phone. It’s probably just about check-out. She let the message play as she removed the wrap and fingered through her curls.
Good Morning! As expected, we received snow last night and ended up getting about a foot! Due to this, we have been informed that the roads are inaccessible, and cars are to remain off the roads until the plows come in the morning. If you planned on leaving today, your reservation has been automatically extended until tomorrow. The office and dining hall will remain open. Remain safe and contact us if you have any questions. Have a Merry Christmas!
“Well I guess we won’t be heading home,” Barry said as he brought a tray of food over to the bed.
Iris broke off a piece of the French toast. “No, unless we want to leave the car behind,” she stated with a bit of a mischievous look in her eyes.
Barry climbed into the bed, laughing at what she was implying he do. “I don’t fancy super speeding in this much snow in the bitter cold.” He reached for the remote and turned on the TV. “I highly doubt you would enjoy it either.”
Iris giggled. “Nope. I’m good, right here under the blankets…with you.” Barry drew himself closer, kissing her now powdered lips. He licked his own taking in the sweet taste of her mouth. “That’s some good French toast.”
“Uh hm.” Iris pressed her lips back upon his before breaking apart to place a forkful of French toast into his mouth.
They continued to sit there together, eating and feeding each other, while the television played in the background.
Once finished, Iris reached over to the side for her phone. “We should call Dad and let him know what’s going on.” Barry nodded, gulping down the last of the juice in the glass. He picked up the tray and moved it onto the counter.
The familiar ring of FaceTime is heard before Cecile’s face popped onto the screen. “Hi Iris. Merry Christmas!”
“Merry Christmas, Cecile! How are you?”
“I’m great. Your dad is in the kitchen working on dinner. You and Barry heading home?” “Not quite.” Joe came lumbering into the screen. “Not quite? You two done got cozy up there?” Barry laughed. “A bit, Joe. We apparently are snowed-in.” Cecile twisted her lips into a sad expression. “Aww. How long are you guys there for?” “At least until tomorrow morning,” Iris responded. “At least you have each other. Going to miss you two.” “I’m going to miss you too, Dad. We’ve never had a Christmas apart.” Joe gave her a sad smile. Barry looked at the screen, scanning the room for a missing voice. “Where’s Wally?” “He went outside. Wanted to enjoy the snow a bit after he terrorized me about opening a gift.” Joe said, his eyebrows raised at Iris. She laughed. “Sorry about that. You know how excited Christmas makes us.” Joe amusingly shook his head. “Oh, I know. Want me to go and get him?” Iris shook her head no. “It’s fine. Just tell him we say hi.” Cecile smiled. “We will. And we’ll hold off on some gifts until you get here.” Barry laughed. “Sounds like a plan.” Joe spoke. “We’ll let him, and the rest of the team know what’s going on. Love you both.” “Love you,” Barry and Iris said simultaneously. “Bye. Talk to you soon.” “Enjoy your first Christmas,” Cecile responded before ending the call. “We will,” Iris said with a smile as the screen faded to black. Barry looked towards Iris. “That was nice.” He paused rubbing a hand across the back of her head. “Are you sure you’re ok with a Christmas away from your dad?” “Yeah, I am. It’s weird, but I’ve got you.” Barry smiled, and she stretched her arms over her shoulder. “I think I’m going to go and get a shower.” I’ll clean up while you’re in there.” She nodded and headed to the bathroom closing the door behind.
The speedster set to work in the kitchen cleaning all the pots and dishes they had used this morning and last night.
If you’re still looking for a gift…
It was this blurb from the news that reminded Barry he didn’t have a gift for Iris. The likelihood that she had a gift for him was slim, considering their gifts should have been at home, but ever since they were kids, he always had a gift for her.
He began looking through his backpack in search of something he could turn into a gift. It was spotted in an empty notebook he had yet to use for notes.
Stealing a quick glance at the bathroom door to ensure it was still closed, Barry began to create his gift. He swiftly flipped through the pages, writing and sketching, careful to detail even while using his speed. The shower nozzle turned off as he finished lightly drawing on the notebook’s cover.
Barry flashed to the backpack hiding the notebook in the last zipper. When she set foot out of the bathroom, he sat on the edge of the bed, flipping through the channels on the TV.
“I was thinking we could lay in bed and watch some Christmas movies. This Christmas is on.”
She climbed into bed, wrapping her arms around Barry’s neck. “I’m always here for a little Loretta Devine.”
He laughed. “I know.”
“And don’t forget Idris Elba.”
Barry turned towards her in mock offense. It was Iris’s turn to laugh. “Hey, I love you.”
“I love you too.” He climbed further back into bed, pulling her back with him.
For the next few hours they laid together, watching movies, occasionally being interrupted by a message from a friend or loved one.
It was as they watched Ralphie come down the stairs in a pink bunny outfit, the TV lost power along with the lights in the room.
Iris exhaled. “And now we have no power.”
Barry nodded and ran a hand down her head, entrancing himself with her locks.
“I left some candles in the car. There’s also a flashlight or two.”
Her husband climbed out of bed. “I’ll go and get them.”
As strange as it was being away from their family and friends, Iris had to admit it was nice spending their first Christmas as husband and wife alone. It might have seemed inconvenient, but being snowed-in may have been a blessing in disguise.
Iris followed Barry to the door, putting on her coat and boots. Barry took her scarf off the chair, wrapped it around her neck, and placed a kiss on her cheek.
Before he could put on his own, she took it from his hand, and repeated the same actions he had done moments ago. As the warmth from the kiss spread throughout his body, Barry headed out the door to the car.
Iris followed behind, grabbed her gloves off the table, and watched Barry vibrate the snow off the car. While he grabbed the things left in the trunk, Iris found the portable chargers and placed them within the cabin.
“Barry?” She had yet to see him come in, but the bag of candles and lights were inside the cabin. As she walked back out the door to look for him, she felt snow hit the back of her head.
The reporter whipped around her head to find Barry smiling mischievously with another snowball in his hand.
“Nooo!” she yelled out playfully, attempting to avoid the next one as it hit the side of her face.
“Move faster!” he yelled out.
“No fair,” Iris yelled back to the speedster using his power to his advantage. She quickly attempted to gather a few snowballs of her own.
For the next several minutes, the couple engaged in a snowball fight as if they were young kids. After being outnumbered by Barry several times, Iris finally found him giggling behind some bushes. She approached from behind, threw the snowball and tackled him to the ground before he could form another.
He rolled himself on top of her and connected his lip with hers. The kiss lasted several seconds before both of their eyes flickered open. Iris pushed Barry off her and moved her hands in an up and down motion in the snow.
Barry kneeled in the snow, watching her build the snow angel, all the while thinking about how true of angel she was herself.
He eventually laid down and started moving his arms in the snow, making an angel of his own when a growl came from his stomach.
“That’s what you get for using your speed to attack me.” Iris sat up, dusting some snow away from her hair.
Barry stood, offering a hand to Iris. “I’ll head to the dining hall and you can head in to get warm.”
She took his hand. “Get a little of everything.”
“Yes, ma’am.” They kissed before Barry trudged out into the snow.
Iris knocked off her boots before heading inside. Momentarily forgetting about the power, she nearly tripped in the darkness.
The team leader fished around in her pocket for her phone using its flashlight to light the candles and the fireplace.
She peels off her wet clothes and changes into a pair of leggings and one of Barry’s shirts. When he was stuck in the speed force, it was the one thing that kept her close to him. The scent of him could always bring her comfort.
Six months ago, she couldn’t have imagined they would be here. It might have also been the reason she went a little overboard with gifts. Gifts. All their gifts were at home.
Barry wouldn’t mind until they got home, but she decided to show him a few of his gifts on her phone. Iris headed over to the nightstand to grab her phone, when she noticed the blank notepad and a pen.
The creative wheels of her head started turning and she quickly laid blankets on the floor next to the fireplace.
Iris looked back at the door to ensure that Barry had yet to return and set to work on her gift idea.
Barry returned to a room only lit by the warmth and light of the fireplace. Blankets were carefully strewn across the floor and the air had the mixed smell of spruce and cinnamon. Iris sat near the fireplace running her fingers through her hair to help dry it from the snow.
He came and sat the basket of food down on the blankets.
“I thought we could have a picnic.”
Barry smiled. “Sounds great.” He reached inside the basket and pulled out a bottle of wine. “I bought it at the front desk as a finishing touch to our day.”
“Thanks, Baby. I’ll grab the glasses.” As she fished them out of the cabinet, Barry spied the notepad on the floor. He held it up for her to see.
“What’s this?”
She blushed, returning with the glasses and setting them on the ground. “I know we didn’t have any gifts, so I made you a little something.”
He started to flip through it and read them aloud. “A voucher for a back massage and foot rub.” He flipped to the next one. “A voucher for your favorite Grandma Esther meal-it’s the chicken one.”
Iris laughed. “I know.” Barry continued flipping through the pages and she continued. “It’s a Love Voucher Book. Redeem them as you like.”
“Can I combine these?”
Iris placed a hand over her mouth, her body shaking from laughter. “Yes, Dear. They are.”
Barry laughed along with her. “Thank you. I actually made you something as well.”
He sped over and retrieved it from his backpack. “It’s a Passport to Love. We’ve talked about traveling and I figured this is a way we could check them off.”
“This is wonderful, Barry. Thank you.” She flipped through them as he poured each of them a glass of wine.
“A passport for a date in Paris. Now, this is one I’m looking forward to.”
Barry smiled. “Anything to make you happy.”
They clinked their glasses in a toast. Barry spoke, brushing a hand across his love’s cheek. “To our first Christmas.” Iris blushed at his touch and smiled. “Our first Christmas.”

A Journey To Somewhere (Part 1/?
(1,294 words)
Warnings: Swearing, Alcohol, Bad Writing (JK lol)
A/N: IM SO NEW TO WRITING AND POSTING IT! I hope anyone who does reads this likes it! I dont even know where to go with this i could make it into anything really a fan fiction, a fantasy story, a romance. The main character in my mind looks the the actress Emmy Rossum, and the love interest is gonna look like Tom Holland so i guess it could be a fan fic i’ll shut up now
Plz let me know what you think
Cold. You were cold. Your father jut died and all you could think was how cold you were. You were snapped into reality when your mother grabbed you into a warm embrace. You were in a room all too familiar to you, White walls, ceiling, and floor. There he lay on his back, eyes closed. The world around you froze and you exhaled sharply. Cry damn it, fucking cry your father just died and you weren’t crying. The sound of your heart beat was all you could hear and then the world moved. Your mother sat next to you, her arms wrapped around you and your brother. Her sobs filled the air. She whispered your name making you look “Sasha, Sasha baby” you stood putting your hand to your forehead you exhaled sharply “Sasha, are you ok honey” your aunt breathed through tears. “I-I need a min-minute” you said your voice breaking as you walked to the door “Sasha, please stay” your mom said her sobs getting stronger and louder your brother grabbed her and pulled her to his chest as she wailed “Its ok” he looked at you and nodded softly as you left.
The hallway was bright. You could hear a long ringing in your ear, nurses and doctors walked the halls. Bathroom, you needed to get to the bathroom you had to be alone. You ran through the halls till you found the ladies room you locked yourself inside. Back to the wall you took a deep breath closed your eyes and screamed. The tears fell fast and hot all you could do was cry and try to remember to breath, your body shook as you sobbed, your body fell to the floor and the wailed. When the crying stopped you stood and assessed the damage in the mirror. Your black hair was frizzy from running your wet hands through it, your eye were blood shot and your lips had swelled. You took deep breathes and you splashed water on you face. You tried your best to calm your hair and when you finally gave up you went to open the door, but you couldn’t your hand was on the knob and you just couldn’t turn it. In the bathroom you were safe you were alone, out there you would have to deal with the world and you didn’t know if you could and then you turned the knob. You took a deep breath as a quiet voice said you name “Sash” it was Liam your older brother he stood against the wall. “I Jus-just need to...” you couldn’t even finish the sentence before more tear started to fall not as violently as the time before, Liam pulled you into a hug as he started to quietly cry into your hair. He was tall and muscular, he was the star football player and acted real tough around everyone but you, he was just a big softy. “Is mom mad at me” you said into his chest. “No, she gets it. You needed a minute, We all have our ways” he said smoothing your hair. “We should get back” you said pulling him along “Yup” he said with a sigh.
Liam led you to small room where your family was meeting with some hospital personnel, your fathers doctor and a woman in a blue skirt suit. You took the empty seat next to you mother and Liam stood at her side a hand on her shoulder. You grabbed you mother hand as the doctor got up and expressed his sorrow for your loss, he whispered in the woman’s ear and exited the room. I’m Wendy Shang, I’ll be handlining the funeral and everything else like grief counseling.” You looked at the woman across from you, this was her job to put on a happy face and say everything was going to be ok. She did her job well a smile was plastered on her Asian features as she handed pamphlets to your aunt and mother when she offered you one you waved it off. The meeting was two and a half hours of pure boredom, when it ended you gathered your father’s thing from his room and went home. The apartment was quiet for a long time as your family gathered in the living room. You look around at the sad faces of your family, Your mother sat in your father recliner wearing one of his sweaters, your Aunt Maxine, your fathers sister sat next to her young son on the couch, Your grandma sat on the couch next to them holding her rosery whispering prayers, Liam sat on the couch close to your mother biting his thumb and tapping his leg, you sat on the floor legs crossed staring up into space. When you mother finally broke the silence you jumped, “I need a fucking drink” she said getting up and heading to the kitchen. A breathy laugh escaped you aunt lips “Come on Cookie, let’s get you to bed!” she said standing and taking your baby cousin Jack to bed, he was only three he didn’t need to see your mom sad, and drunk. She came back as you mom walked back into the room with full bottle of Jim Beam bourbon no glasses just bourbon. A laugh sounded as your aunt saw the bottle “Eddy’s favorite” she said you mother moved Liam you the recliner as she sat with the adults, she opened the bottle held it to the sky and toasted “To you my love” then she tipped her head back and took a swig handing it off to Maxine she toaster and offered it to your Gram “What the heck” her German accent thick as she grabbed the bottle and took a long swig “Get it Grams” you said with a chuckle she smiled through the burn of the alcohol cursing in German before handing the bottle to your mother. She looked down at the bottle and then to you and your brother “I think you two deserve a drink after what you’ve gone through” She said handing the bottle to Liam “Hell… sorry Grams, Heck yeah” he said taking a swig riding through the burn like a pro because he was that wasn’t his first drink and everyone knew it. He passed you the bottle, you excepted it with sad smile. “You don’t have to if you don’t want to Honey” your mother said with a smile “Don’t be weak.” Your Grandmother said “Grams!” you gasped taking a swig of the bourbon, the liquid was cool at first but it burned as it went down your throat, your lips went numb for a moment as your eyes teared “Shit” you said as cheers erupted Liam’s hand grabbed the bottle from your grasp as he congratulated you. “I love you guys” you said and you stood “are you going to bed Liebe” Grams said “Yes Grams.” You said as you went around the room you kissed you mother, aunt, and grandmother on the cheeks and ruffling your brother hair.
You stood in your room back to the door letting out a sigh. You went and sat on your bed unlocking you phone you sent a text to your best friend telling her what happened.  Getting ready for bed your phone pinged looking at the text from you friend Katy ‘I’m so srry Sash we should hang tomorrow love you babe ttyl’ ‘thx we should hang see u tomorrow’. You clicked your phone off and plugged it onto the charger, turning off your lamp you lay in the dark eyes wide open heart beating fast you felt tears brim in your eyes, you closed them and swallowed the lump in your throat and fell into a dreamless sleep.
Hope you enjoyed! Let me know if i should post more! Special thx to @midtownvaledictorian for all your help and inspiration

AM,
I don’t know if you’ve noticed this yet, but I did add you back on snapchat. You never deleted me, which I guess is a good sign. I actually don’t know if Snapchat notifies someone if they readd you after unfriending if the other person doesn’t do anything. Baby steps for me I guess. I know it seems silly to think more than a minute over, but you know me I overthink too much about things.
I just didn’t want things to end like this with me splitting. I didn’t want to flat out text you, but wanted to show you that I didn’t hate you. I never did.
Like I said in my other letters that so much shit has happened between us coming back from Vermont and now. So much. I realized who my true friends are, and it’s less than what I thought. Once you get added back to a group chat, you see the shit people you called your friends said. Honestly, it was disgusting. Some said they were going to stay out of it, but were in on the ‘talk about me behind my back’ shit fest. Been dead since I got back there, wouldn’t be surprised if they made a new one without me.
I’m going back to my habits again. Well besides self harm, that’s been a habit for months. I went back to not eating. I only ate when my dad was bringing food home. (Well actually a little bit before that but that was just pieces of bologna.) When Dad brought pizza home I had 4 slices. (It was rectangle pizza.) I also had ice cream as well. So I didn’t starve myself the whole day like I originally planned.
At least I’m not purging, I haven’t went back to that after Vermont. I don’t know if i’ll go back to that, didn’t really do much because I waited so long.
I’m back to my other habit of staggering OD'ing. Took 6 aleeve pills yesterday, and took like 3 a little while ago. I mean at least today I can blame it on cramps. Once again, almost out of them here. Hopefully my dad doesn’t remember how many there were when he looked last.
I’m also burning my hands at night with steaming hot water. It doesn’t have any lasting effects, but it’s just painful for a short time. Surprised my dad hasn’t asked why I run the water so much after I brush my teeth at night.
I do wish something would last though, the cuts are lasting but I can’t get deeper. Something happened where I had to have the pins in my room instead of the bathroom, which was probably a bad idea. I hid them in my drawer in a box my 3DS charger was.
I feel like if I text you all this, you’ll tell someone and it will lead back to my sister. That’s the only thing I’m worried about. If she knows, she’ll tell the whole family. Then they’ll blame dad, when it’s not even his fault. Sure he didn’t do anything to prevent me from self harming or not noticing these other things, but it’s not really his fault. Sure he’s /somewhat/ part of the reason I’m so fucked up, but it’s just a side effect from his yelling. (It wasn’t directed at me, I just get panic attacks from loud noise.)
No wonder so many people don’t want to be my friend anymore, I’m fucking toxic when I complain about my problems. Who’d want to keep a friend like me? Someone who always thinks of suicide, someone who always has habits, someone who keeps so many secrets.
I’ve been self harming for about 2 years, and actively attempting suicide for about a year. (Altho in total probably a couple months?) I know I’m the one that has to try and get better, but what’s the point? What’s the point when mostly everyone I’ve cared about has left me? You and the crew are one of the few people who haven’t left me. Only three people from school I still consider my friends. Two that were in that group chat, but didn’t join in the shit fest, and my guy friend who doesn’t have social media.
Other than those three, there’s B. My newish friend. We met a long time ago, but were both socially awkward teenagers so we didn’t talk much till a couple weeks ago. Only after we found out we were going to LCCC at the same time did we talk more.
Even with you guys, I can’t find a reason to stay. If it were for procrastination, I probably would be dead. If I were too dumb not to mess with medication I don’t know, I would’ve taken my grandma’s or my father’s. Guess I have a brain after all.
If you do come to the meeting tomorrow, please treat me like you always did. Don’t know how I’d get if you hated me too.

My North Star (pt 2)
Tumblr media
A/N: again, not sure what I’m doing. Please give me feedback. Also in the future, I might write some parts from Jin’s POV :D
Genre: angst/fluff/romance
Characters: Jin x Reader, Hoseok x Reader
Summary: The one constant in your life, Jin, has been your best friend (and the love of you life) for as long as you can remember. That is, until the new girl comes into his life.
Length: 2622 words
**italics = your thoughts
pt 1
You wanted to quickly excuse yourself from the cafe, not being able to sit and listen to him gush about Kim any longer.
What was so special about her that his eyes sparkle when he talks about her?
“I-I’m glad you like her so much” you lie “I actually have to head back and prepare some documents for my meeting tomorrow, but tell me all about her later!” you say as you begin to stand up
He frowns and says, “okay, don’t work too long though. Do you want me to help you?”
“no no, it’s fine. I’ll see you later” you say, finally excusing yourself. You couldn’t have made it to your apartment quicker. You had a hard time grasping the situation. He had told you about her previous girls before but his eyes never sparkled the way they did today and tightness in your heart didn’t seem to get any better.
You think back to all the times people would mistake you and Jin as a couple. Even his family sometimes thought that perhaps there was more to your relationship than just friendship. Today however, you realize how quick he was always to deny those claims. “NO NO we’re just best friends, nothing of that sort” God why didn’t you see it till today? Why were you so foolish to keep your hopes up after all the signs?
You will never be more than a friend to Jin
You can feel your phone beep from your bag and you lazily pull it out.
Jin: You make it back ok?
You: Yup
Jin: Have fun with work :P  Wish me luck!
You: Why?
Jin: I have another date with Kim today. I’m going to ask her to be my girlfriend
You: Good Luck.
And before you knew it, you threw your phone across the room. You don’t have to see your phone before you know that it’s completely shattered. The tears you were holding back roll freely down your cheeks.
Regret overwhelms your entire being. Not because of the phone, but because you knew that life just threw you another curve ball and that for better or for worse, your life was going to change.
After spending all day in bed on Sunday, you wake up in a daze Monday morning. You wished yesterday hadn’t happened, but the tightness in your heart confirmed that everything had in fact happened.
You finally reach for your phone, hoping that perhaps it might still work despite the shattered screen. But since it was you and your luck, the phone was completely dead.
You felt almost numb getting to work. Around your co-workers, you were known for your bubbly/happy personality and the ever so prominent sass. But today, you were thankful that your coworkers sensed the dark cloud around you and left you alone.
Your mind couldn’t think straight. Your mind would constantly wander off to Jin and you could feel the tears threaten to spill again.
No, you’re better than this. Get it together Y/N.
The rest of the day went by in a blur. Your meeting was successful, despite your lack of interest. When 5pm finally hits, you decide to finally go the store and purchase a new phone.
In the car, you quickly put in the address to the nearest apple store and head in that direction. Your mind was still clouded and you were close to running red lights multiple times.  Not a good time to be driving Y/N.
You think back to your past and everything leading up to this day. It was like your life was flashing before your eyes, although you weren’t at the brink of death. It was like life’s way of mocking you further. Why do you have it out for me?
You worked hard to earn a stable job. Within about 3 years at your desk job in one of the biggest companies in town, you worked your way up the ladder and earned a managerial position. With that, you were able to afford some new luxuries, like a nicer apartment and a car. For the first time in two days, you smile to yourself. Life wasn’t all the unfair to me. It’s rewarded me when I didn’t think I deserved it. But Jin was the biggest reward…and like that, your smile vanished.
Once you reach the mall with the apple store, you lock your car. I’m surprised I didn’t make it here without getting pulled over…. You head directly to the store and you feel a little of the tightness in your heart disappear. There was just something about getting a new phone…
As soon as you reach the mall, you are helped by one of the employees and you tell the exactly what you want. They ask you to wait as they get the phone from the back. As you wait patiently, someone trips behind you and pulls lightly at the back of your shirt. Shocked, you turn around to see a familiar face.
“Hoseok? Is that you? What are you doing?” you ask in surprise.
“Y/N? I’m so sorry. I think the charger for my laptop broke so I came here to see if they can salvage it, but I ended up tripping on it. I’m so sorry” he says while pulling his charger close to him
“It’s fine” you give him a small smile.
“What are you doing here?” he asks back while looking for someone to help him.
“Uh…I kinda shattered my phone when I dropped it” nodding towards the broken phone on the table near you. “I decided I should just get a new one.”
“All that damage from just dropping it? Did you drop it from a ten story building or something?” he teases and you can feel your cheeks flush. Does he know I threw it? You hide the phone in embarrassment. Luckily, the man with your new phone saves you from any further conversation with Hoseok. “I’ll catch you later” he says, eagerly looking for someone to help him with his charger.
After about another half hour, your new phone was set up and you can feel a small smile on your face. You thank the man for his help and were about to toss the old phone in the trash when you remember that you and Jin had picked it out together about two years ago. You stand there hesitantly by the trash can.
“You excited about the new phone?” you hear Hoseok behind you. You shove the broken phone in your pocket and turn in surprise. Hoseok was just a few inches from your face and both of you have your eyes wide open.
“Yeah I guess..” you say as you inch back, away from him. Hoseok was always very touchy with his friends was always just a little ball of sunshine. How can someone be like that?
“Oh, no wonder you didn’t answer Jin this whole time. He’s been hella worried when you didn’t answer his calls or reply to his messages” he says.
Of course, he was worried.
“So did you get your charger fixed?” you hope to change the subject off of Jin, or leave this conversation altogether.
“Ugh no, I had to buy a new one” he pouts. “What are you doing later? You should stop by our place and talk to Jin. It seems he has a lot to tell you” he continues
“Uh no I think I’m just going to head home, it’s been a long day. Tell him I’m sorry?”
“Oh comeeeee onnn. He’s been worried, you owe him at least that much. Plus, he’s making dinner and who can resist his food?” and like clockwork, your stomach begins to growl
“haha see you can’t deny it. You’re coming” he practically drags you out of the store and into the parking garage.
“Can you drive Y/N? I actually took the bus here” he asks.
There’s no getting out of this one...
You were actually in for a pleasant surprise. Hoseok and you carried a good conversation, finally getting to know each other despite meeting each other about a year ago. He seemed so excited, just talking about the smallest things in life and you couldn’t help but smile. He made sure to ask you plenty of questions too, intently listening to each and every answer. Although the mall wasn’t too far from Jin’s place, the traffic made the commute longer than you had expected and the sun was already setting.
You pulled into Jin’s apartment, but you wished for nothing more to just drop Hoseok off and head home. However he was right, you did owe Jin an explanation for not answering him. He really must have been worried. I can never say no when it comes to Jin…
Jin’s eyes lit up when he saw you and immediately you could see the anger in his eyes that followed shortly after.
“Yah! Do you know how worried I was? You didn’t answer your phone the entire day. What the hell is wrong with you?” he questions.
You were too scared to meet his eyes. As you pull your boots off, you say “I’m sorry but my phone broke. I went to get a new one today…” you begin
“AND that’s where I ran into her! At the store! I thought she could stay for dinner!” continues Hoseok.
“Wait, your phone broke? How? You’re so careful with it usually….” Jin says, finally calming down.
“Yeah…it’s fine. I got a new one” You reach into your purse to show Jin your new phone but before you hand it to him, Hoseok grabs it and runs to the kitchen.
“Uh..can I have that back?” you ask, slightly startled.
“Just….one…sec. Done!” he says, smiling cheekily at you while handing you back the phone.
“What did you do..?” you ask. You unlock the phone, but nothing seems different.
“I just put my number in. I’m your first contact! Now your phone will forever be blessed” He smiles radiantly at you.
You look at Jin and notices the frown on his face. What’s up with that?
“Put my number in too!” Jin whines at you. You don’t even need to ask for his number as you had memorized it, years ago.
“Anyways, dinner is almost ready. Go wash your hands you two” Jin continues.
“K mother” replies Hoseok. You smile, noticing the playful banter between the two men.
And thats when you heard it. You heard the flush of the toilet from the bathroom and you look at Jin with questioning eyes.
“AH. Thats why I was in a rush to talk to you! Kim. said. yes.” he says. “She’s having dinner with us tonight!” he says, excitedly.
You could feel all the blood leaving your face. You didn’t want to see Kim yet. You didn’t want to see them together.
“Uh..I’m happy for you Jinnie” You say.
You turn your head once you see the door to the bathroom open. Out walks this beautiful women, and you already know that you can’t compare. She’s tall, skinny, and her face looks pretty with just natural basic makeup. She seems a little confused when you both make eye contact, but smiles quickly after.
“Ohh! You must be Y/N! Jin has told me so much about you!” she gives you a quick hug. You can smell her scent and it slightly overwhelms you. It’s strong sweet smell, something you would think that came from a candy shop. You almost threw up.
“Uh hi! You must be Kim” you say, releasing yourself from her death grip hug.
“Ah my two favorite ladies, lets go have dinner” you hear Jin say.
Kim puts her arm around you and leads you to the dinner table as if it was the first time you’ve been inside Jin’s place. She sits next to Jin comfortably and he gives her his biggest smile. You awkardly sit across from him, next to Hoseok. The three of them engaged in what seemed to be an exciting conversation. You sat there, quietly eating his food, although it seemed like you had to force it down. If asked anything, you smiled and gave short one worded answers.
You look over at Jin and you notice him looking at Kim as if she was the greatest thing to ever happen to him. Maybe she was the greatest thing to ever happen to him, like he was to you.
You finish dinner and Jin says “Hoseok do the dishes since I made dinner” and you can hear Hoseok whine next to you. You turn to him and say “don’t worry I’ll help.” Anything to avoid Jin and Kim.
The happy couple made their way to the living room and sat on the couch, continuing their conversation from before. It killed you to see how comfortable they were with each other. It was like Jin knew Kim longer than he had known you. You pretend as if you don’t see them and move to help Hoseok with the dishes. Hoseok continues talking, but it all just seems to go in one year and out the other for. You feel bad, not giving Hoseok the attention, but you can’t seem to think about anything other than Jin.
“You’re awfully quiet Y/N, are you okay? Y/N? Hey Y/N” he finally whispers in your ear. It sends shivers down your spine when you feel his breath so close to your ears and neck.
“Huh, what? Oh yeah I’m fine, just tired is all. I think I’m going to leave once we’re done if that’s alright” you say slowly
You don’t miss the frown on Hoseok’s face. “Don’t leave me alone with those two! I can’t stand them” he says.
“You knew she was going to be here tonight?” you ask, suddenly angry.
“Uh..yeah? Why..?” he asks, genuinely confused.
“n-nothing” you stammer, surprised that you let your emotions out so freely just a second ago. “I just wish you told me before, that’s all” you finish. You finish washing the last of the dishes and head to grab your purse. You make your way to the living room to say goodbye but you freeze the second you get past the kitchen and into the living room. Before your eyes, you see Jin leaning into Kim, just about to kiss her. However, he sees you standing in front of him, and stops.
“uh… I-I’m going to head home. Thanks for dinner” you say, emotionless.
Jin looks flustered ,“uh..yeah no problem. Text me when you get home safely”
You smile and make your way to the door, feeling completely numb. “Bye Y/N!” you hear Kim call out.
Hoseok runs to the entrance. “I don’t get a goodbye?” he asks, pouting. You just look at him and give him a small smile. He looks confused, but smiles back and says goodnight.
You make your way to the car and sit there. You don’t turn the car or anything, just sitting there in the dark. You don’t deny your feelings or try to push them away for once. You began sobbing uncontrollably and decide to just let it all out. You sat there for what seemed like hours. You only stop when you hear the sound of the dumpster open and close in front of you. Once there were no more tears to be shed, you look at your phone. No messages from Jin asking if you made it home alright.
The one constant is slowly fading.
There was, however, a message from Hoseok.
Hoseok: Thanks for coming tonight and feel better, Y/N.
You toss your phone into the seat next to you and speed home. You just wanted to curl up and bed and sleep.
AH SO I finished part 2 too. This is trash, isn’t it? I really want to finish this before the end of this week, so look out for more parts coming soon!

today was fine, not too exciting but nothing bad. I had my alarm set for 11 but ended up waking up at like, 10:55 I think, I can’t remember if I woke up to the phone call or if it started ringing shortly before I woke up, but I ended up fielding a phone call about getting an epi-pen for the medicine I was supposed to get from the doctor’s office today, but the epi-pen wasn’t gonna get here till Wednesday. So I had to call the doctor’s office and see if they still wanted me to come in, but they didn’t open till noon so I had some time to kill. I needed to get to Target to pick up the prescription I needed and didn’t want to waste too much time, so I got dressed quickly and ubered over there, and then got some starbucks while there for breakfast. Got the prescription easy enough, then I kinda meandered through the clothes section for a while and wound up buying a set of Wonder Woman socks because, I mean, of course I did. Called the doctor’s office while doing this and they said to come in anyway because they had epi-pens at the office. I also realized that since I had to cancel my chiropractor appointment on Thursday I hadn’t booked any new appointments which we normally book a few weeks out but I hadn’t gotten any done yet. Unfortunately they’re closed on Mondays though, so I have to remember to call them tomorrow and hopefully get an appointment, because my back has definitely been feeling the skipped appointment, even when I try to do the exercises on my own it’s not quite the same, I’ve been doing a lot of ice-ing to deal with it. But anyway, I left Target and returned home, then spent a while trying to get some work done before leaving for the doctor’s. Now that I’d finished my case research I had to write the statement of facts, so I spent a while starting that and looking through the record to find the correct citations. I stopped shortly before 2 and got ready for the doctor’s appointment, then ubered over there. The deal was because this was the first time they were giving me this medication and there was apparently somewhat of a risk for an allergic reaction I had to stay there for two hours afterwards for the first two doses so they could make sure I was okay, so I had packed my laptop and brought it with me to keep working. Got to the office, did my vitals and everything with me staring at the heart monitor suspiciously after last week lol like I kinda know what these numbers mean now but I don’t trust you lol. Everything there was good so they came and gave me the shots, one in each arm, and started the timer, where they would come check on me every 30 minutes. So I pulled my laptop out and got back to work. Since I was just working on the statement of facts and not citing cases yet I didn’t need internet access beyond what I could look up on my phone as needed, so I didn’t need wifi. They came and checked on me every 30 minutes for two hours, and everything went fine so they let me go after that. I was able to get a solid two hours of work in at least so that was good. I got an uber home, which led to him driving past me and me trying to chase him down the street and text him on the app saying to stop and he was just progressively getting further away....it was a bit of a mess, but I eventually got in the car and got home. I had known it was my roommate’s birthday mostly because it popped up on my facebook memories that we had been celebrating her birthday in years past, but I forgot her parents were also going to be in town this week, so when I came in I was momentarily confused as to who these people were but put it together fairly quickly lol. One of her really good guy friends who’s really funny was there too so there was lots of laughter. So I joined them for dinner, they had taken the grill out back (and by that I mean to the patch of concrete behind our building we like to pretend is a patio/backyard) and made some cheeseburgers and such, so we ate and talked and laughed and it was very nice, I even got them to eat some of my macarons and caramels that live in my fridge with just me to eat them, lol. They left eventually, and I had a brainfart moment where I tried to plug my phone into my laptop charger and in the process somehow messed up the inside of the cord end because now it no longer plugs into my laptop, so I spent a while transferring all my work documents onto my spare laptop in case I get stuck without having access to that one, but thanks to the wonders of amazon prime now (which I literally just paused writing this to order) I should have a new one at my door between 8 and 10 am tomorrow morning, which is just a perk of living in a big city. I watched the news for a bit and then Jimmy Kimmel before showering and starting to get ready for bed, and now I am here and it’s way late, and I’m supposed to be doing a phone interview in the morning for the ABA job I’m not certain I want at this point, but I guess we’ll see how that goes. on that note I definitely need to end this here and go to bed, so that’s what I’m going to do now. Goodnight friends. Hope your Monday didn’t suck.

Worst/scariest afternoon ever in my life- Friday, April 27th
My husband had to host this event at the golf tournament all morning in Timber Creek Golf course in Spanish Fort. I stayed home with my both girls. We played outside in our backyard since it was so beautiful outside. My husband came home in the early afternoon and the girls were waking up from their naps. He wanted to swing by at his yacht club to getting stuffs together ready for his Regatta Sailing race on Saturday. He asked us to come along and play at the playground at the yacht club. We wanted spend time more together before he heads out to sailing race for almost entire of weekend. Around 4 in the afternoon, my oldest Savannah loves this playground. This thing have kind of tent over the little house made out of sail. (This playground is at sailing yacht club) They also have steep metal slide. Savannah loves to slide. She would go slide so many time till she get tired. I was swinging my youngest Evelyn and watching Savannah from my left sight while she was playing so hardcore at the slide. I caught her trying to climb up on the slide to top. I yelled saying “No, Savannah. You will fall! Get down, please.” She was like Okay, Mama. Somehow she sneaked behind of my back....she did try again climbing up to the top of slide....then I heard Savannah’s pain screaming. I knew right away that she did tried to climb and threw her balance and fell down on the ground. Evelyn was still in her swing. I ran over to Savannah to look anything broken or bleeding. She got calm down then crying in pain. I suddenly saw the black bruise/swelling start to show. I texted Rob that Savannah’s hurting. He was at another side of club, gathering around in his sailboat at the slip. He did hear Savannah’s screaming. He dropped everything then ran over to us. He saw the black spot starts to showing. He knew it’s broken. (I have never broke my bones ever in my life, so I didn’t know what it was look alike. Rob does know since he had broken his bones three times back in his teens.) He carried her to the car. I grabbed Evelyn from swing. During the car drive- Rob was like I guess I am not going to Sailing racing tomorrow then. Another time.
We headed to closest local ER in Mobile. Rob called his parent to ask them to take Evelyn since we knew it will be taking long time at the hospital and Evelyn will be so restless and being in our way. We arrived at Mobile Infirmary Hospital, Rob and Savannah headed into ER right away. I parked the car and carried Evelyn with me into the waiting room. We both waited for someone came to get us to Savannah and Robert’s exam room. Savannah was little scared by seeing so many people were in the exam room and had x-rays films done before we came in to see them. The nurses had to get our infomations and our health insurance to fill out the documents in the computer. The x-rays films were sent to orthopedist and told us that her left arm above the elbow is pretty broken and couldn’t help us very much since she’s 3 years old and tiny bone. They had to sent us to another hospital that more specialized in the kids. They were about to request the ambulance. We all said “Where’s the hospital exactly? They said “Oh it’s next building from us.” We said no to ambulance since I knew it wasn’t cover from our health insurance. (THE HEALTH INSURANCE ARE BEING SICKLY RIDICULOUS in America.)
Rob’s parents came by to get Evelyn. After we discharged, we headed to our car and drove in less a mile to another hospital called USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital.
Tumblr media
They were expecting us when we walked in and gave them the CD that films in it. They got Savannah in exam room at their Pediatric clinic care floor. They gave her some pain meds to make her comfortable. They did more x-rays films to be sure before sending to Pediatric Orthopedists. They saw the films and told us that she broke it pretty good. They showed us the films. She broke her left humerus, above the elbow joint. They said also that she has multiple breaks.  She will be need the surgery and installing the pins in on next day. They had to put special strong splint on her arm to be stable and reduce the swelling. She will be need to spend overnight to prepare and surgery in the morning. I was like wow, this is really happening.
Tumblr media
See the red mark? That’s where it’s fractured. Ouchies. My poor baby girl.
Tumblr media
After we moved up to her patient room for overnight on 3rd floor in Children’s Wing. Rob and I was so hungry and thirsty and pretty much of freezing for whole time. We were wearing normal summer outfits and flip flops. We didn’t expect any of this happened. I ran up to my car to get our sweater and jacket and of course, apples from snack bag. While Savannah and Rob settles down in the private room. I headed to our house to pack some clean WARM clothes, our toothbrushes, shampoos if need to take shower and more snacks. I checked on my dog Athena, put her outside over night. She wasn’t happy about that. Oh well! Oh and our phone chargers. Our both phones were dying most of evening. We couldn’t get in touch with anybody with Savannah’s updates because of no services and wifi wasn’t available. I had to walk outside from clinic floor to text my mother and updated on my facebook. I also did stopped by Burger King to get me a Wopper burger Meal at 11PM. I shoved it in my face in the parking a lot. I was that hungry. I drove back to hospital around 11:30pm. I walked up to the room and saw Savannah has finally asleep and on pain meds. Rob has already beat me to sleeping on the couch. I sneaked in on the couch and knocked out.
Saturday, April 28th-  We all slept just alright.
Rob and I needed some coffee while we all waiting in Savannah’s room. The nurse comes in once a while to check on Savannah and do her vitals routine. Savannah wasn’t allow to eat anything either drink since midnight because of surgery being scheduled at 11. The nurse told us that they are suppose to take her to prep for OR at 9 between 10 AM. I looked at the time and it was 7:30 AM. I was like NEEDED to get coffee and breakfast. I went to food court and got myself breakfast and two cups of coffee then headed back to upstairs. (Coffee rating- eh it wasn’t that good to rate it, eh ha)
Tumblr media
Rob was on the phone calls with his family relatives and my relatives with all the updates with Savannah while I was gone to downstair to get the breakfast. Few hours later, they has finally got her set up to headed downstair for prep-OR. That was around 10 AM. We were told that Savannah is 2nd case to repair the broken bone in surgery. We all saw 1st case rolled out to OR while we were waiting. Rob has to kill the waiting mood by playing game called Mr. Spider with Savannah. She was smiling and giggling away.
Tumblr media
Then now it was our turn to prepare for OR, they gave her meds and she was already slipping away by saying heeheeh after Rob kissed on her forehead. She rolled in the OR at 11:10 AM. The Surgery started at 11:30 AM. While we were waiting, we headed over to the food court to get ourselves lunch. We felt much better after being eaten and drinks. We came back to waiting room and got this phone call from nurse telling us that everything turns out smoothly and they just started to closing up and putting new special splint back on. The  Rob and I were so glad when the surgery is almost over and everything turned out successful. The doctors came in the waiting room to quick chat with us, explained to us what they did back in the surgery and what to expect after the surgery and recovery’s timeline. He said that Savannah has three pins in and will be need to remove the pins in three weeks later and put new cast on for another 3 weeks. Likely, she will be in splint/cast for most of 6 weeks. He also said that they saw more multiple breaks than the x-rays showed it. Thats why she needed more than one pin. Geez. That girl sure did landed into ground pretty darn good. They wanted to keep her overnight again for observation to see her left hand/fingers’ nerves are functioning correctly since there was so much of swelling after the surgery. They wanted to keep eye on that.
They called us to come in the recovery room and Savannah was so sleepy and groggy from the drugs. Rob decided to run the errands and check on the house and his sailboat at the club. I stayed with her for whole time. We moved upstairs and we decided to rest and sleep as much we can while Rob’s gone for few hours.
Tumblr media
Rob arrived in the room just in time when Savannah was waking up. She seem so much better and able to have her appetite back. She had some of her supper and sure did drank a lot of apple juice. We watched quite a lot of Disney world princess movies. We ate our suppers together. I finally took shower and felt so much better.  We headed to sleep around 8ish since we had very long day past of us already.
Sunday, April 29th- Savannah has better evening since had the surgery. That’s good sign!
Savannah woke up and tells me that “Sky is awake!” Well good morning, my sweet girl!  We all ate good breakfast. She ate most of her meal and drinking more apple juice and MILK. She was smiling to the ears after seeing the milk at her tray. Savannah watches most of cartoons while we are waiting to be discharged. I kept myself busy by scribbling at SUKO puzzle-book and Rob was reading a motorsports magazine. The doctor has finally came in and check on Savannah. He said everything looks great and see that her swelling on her hand/fingers has reduced. That means the nerves are functionally correct. That’s all great news! And we get to go home sooner!  We was about to leave heading home, we called Rob’s parents to let them know that we will be home soon and have Evelyn comes home too. Savannah still wasn’t in the mood to walk yet. She was scared to be hurt all over again. Rob sat next to her in car ride, heading home. We stopped by at the Walmart to get some groceries and Savannah’s prescriptions then we got ourselves lunch from McDonald’s then headed home. I knew Savannah was so tired from not sleeping enough in the morning. She was wide wake at 4 AM and wanted to watch Sleeping Beauty on tv. We got home and Savannah’s grandparents and Evelyn were already there and waiting for us. Savannah was so happy to see them and got so worn out tired. She fell asleep on the couch. We were so happy to see Evelyn back with us and being home. We are so happy to be HOME.
I know it’s not over yet. It will be very long recovery. She will be wearing splint/cast for next 6 weeks. There will be many challenges for her and us, of course.
What a weekend!

today i was voluntold to participate in a COMBAT LIFE SAVER coarse.. in the event of a emergency i am qualified to save someones life... its from 0900- UTC... i go the good news(sarcasm), last night at 2000... I then announced i would draw anything for anyone on just about everything IF they take my place in the class.. ...well not everyone raised their hand at once. salty faced, they asked me why dont i want to go? "because in the morning i talk to my girlfriend... i would rather talk to her then be with more dudes.." didnt make a difference... I sat there for a bit watching wonder years day dreaming until i got up and went to the back.. didnt bother to shower.. i undressed and sent you a text letting you know im in bed, hoping your up to talk or w.e i then check my fb and twitter like theres anything to check or anyone sent me a msg at all.. i just really check to see your thoughts or what your doing. i then nvm it all when i see an update, deep sigh and wait till netflix to load up twilight zone... watch it for a bit, i got it minimized and your msgr up just incase you text me i would see it... i fall asleep. the time was 1040 i dreamt about my grandmother last night.. a sudden wake up to thinking it was 2 am, realizing i was only asleep for a hour.. i move the mouse to turn the screen on, checking if you  texted me yet.. i call, text... w.e we had our argument.. i fall asleep not feeling any better. its 130 in the am.. waking up at 6, move the mouse to see if you texted me... and i just lay there staring at the ceiling, "man i dont want to get out of bed today.." i close my eyes forcin myself to sleep, alot of "what ifs" going through my mind, i cant help but be awake. laying there, okay ****... its 7 now, lets just get out of bed, shower... put on a new uniform and start a healthy day.. be strong, its okay.. she'll text you when she misses you, give her time.. she will miss you; it will be okay.. just get up. i cant help but touch the mouse pad and turn the screen back on.. damnit... why did i do that? ON SUNDAY, NEW YEAR'S DAY 2017, we awoke to a dark and roiling sky and ocean. The waves on the gray water were churning up acres of foam, rain was falling from the black clouds. Hail fell. Snow fell. The wind blew. We were cozy in our room after our wild New Year's Eve; splitting a bottle of Champagne and staying up till eight o'clock. We spent the day in our room, reading and looking out at the changing sea and sky. For lunch we had left-over Thai food. In the early evening we made a short drive to Kyllo's Seafood Grill for dinner. My nice clean car, that I'd parked in the hotels covered garage, got rained on. :^( Dinner was great. We sat in a booth in a window, overlooking the beach and the roiling sea. Barbara had the crab cakes, I had the halibut; we shared a berry cobbler ala mode. The food was delicious, the service excellent, the view spectacular. ON MONDAY WE AWOKE TO GLORIOUS SUNSHINE and blue skies. We packed up and headed south, towards Coos Bay. We wound through lush rainforests and then open vistas of the churning Pacific; every once in a while we'd pass through a little town - sometimes a big one...but not very big. The sun was out and then it wasn't and then it was. It sprinkled occasionally. We took one side trip out to the Yaquina Head Lighthouse, mainly because the signs said it was an "Outstanding Natural Area". It was pretty nice but I'm not sure if it was outstanding. It was definitely cold. We got out of the car long enough to take a selfie of us in front of the lighthouse. We stopped in Florence at MO's for lunch (they have the best clam chowder in Oregon...or so it is said). Barb had the chowder, I had the fish and chips but I got some of Barb's. We eventually rolled into Coos Bay to the Fred Meyer store, which is like a Target, and got a partial charge at their EVGO charger. I picked up a few items in the store while we waited. I wanted a bottle of gin but forgot we were in Oregon and because of their antiquated laws, you can only buy hard liquor in a special liquor store. We found the Coos Bay Manor Inn and checked in. It was a beautiful old home in an old residential neighborhood. Our room was spacious and light. Our hostess, Madge, seemed nice but I will confess, we found her to be slightly "off". She talked about he history of the house but it was very fragmented and didn't make much sense. She talked about herself and her family (she'd lived her whole life in Coos Bay) and that too was a bit fragmented and confusing. But, she never asked anything about us; where we were from or what we did, etc. It seemed odd to me, and Barbara. I would think that one of the perks of owning a B&B is meeting people and learning about them. It was almost like she was hiding some dark secret (My best guess: bodies buried in the basement). There were menus from all the local restaurants for our perusal in the living room. In the end, we decided our lunch had been sufficient and we were tired of traveling and not interested in going out to a restaurant, so we had tangerines and potato chips for dinner, with kettle corn for dessert. ON DECEMBER 28, 1851, the "Captain Lincoln", an old-at-the-time, three masted schooner, left San Francisco, bound for Port Orford on the Oregon Coast. She immediately encountered bad weather blowing up from the south. It pushed her north; the direction she wanted to go. But, she began taking on water due to her aged condition and was unable to make it into Port Orford. She was driven farther north. The pumps were manned 24 hours a day to no avail; the water began to gain on them. Their only recourse was to try to beach her to save the cargo. At two in the morning on January 3, 1852, the captain gave the order to run her into the shore. Luckily it was a sandy one and not rocks. Everyone got ashore and eventually most of the cargo too. The ship was destroyed. They built shelters for themselves and the cargo out of masts and spars and sails, and waited for rescue; they called it Camp Castaway. That was 165 years ago tomorrow and it was the first U. S. settlement at Coos Bay. ON TUESDAY WE HAD A NICE breakfast in the inn's dining room and then set out to explore. It was a cold morning; frost everywhere; the car was like a block of ice. We drove out to Cape Arago State Park and walked out to the edge of the ocean. It was so cold we didn't stay long; we didn't even take a photo. The ocean and rocks were beautiful though. There was a botanical garden there too but because of the cold we opted not to go check it out. We drove back into town and eventually back to our room. In the afternoon we went to lunch at a Mexican place, then walked to the liquor store across the street for wine. Once again we ran into problems with their liquor laws: you can only buy liquor in a liquor store; you buy wine in a grocery store. The good news: they had Death's Door gin. I bought a bottle. Pot is legal to buy in Oregon but alcohol is a pain in the ass! I HAD A DREAM: I was talking to Steve, the owner of the Golden Era, and he told me he was looking for an old beat up camper; if I saw one, let him know. Soon thereafter I saw one. It was on an old beat up pickup truck and had hand-made camper on it; it was like a gypsy wagon; like a giant barrel (not unlike one we'd seen the day before on the road). I bought it, figuring I'd just turn around and sell it to Steve. When I had him come look at it he started picking it apart. He didn't like the sink (which looked just like the one in our room at the B&B). He didn't like the toilet. The truck was too rusty, etc. I was about to freak out, when I woke up. WHEN WE WENT TO MESA VERDE last year and marveled at the cliff dwelling sites, they evoked one giant question: why? Why would a people who lived on the mesas happily for a thousand years, decide to move to the difficult to access and supply, cliffs? We both agreed it had to because they were hiding from something. The book "ICE", that I just finished, takes that premise all the way: they were hiding from aliens who were abducting them. Not the greatest book but it was an adventure that covered half the globe. MY REVIEW OF THE COOS BAY MANOR INN The Coos Bay Manor Inn is a beautiful, stately, old home in a quiet neighborhood. Our room was of a nice size and had a king sized bed. The bathroom was small but to be expected in a 150 year old house. Our hostess was a bit strange and we were surprised she didn't take charge of cooking our breakfast but hired someone to do it; a woman who was dressed as if she was going out to milk the cows and had a personality that said: I hate my life and I hate you and I want to die. And, there was no mention of "organic, non-gmo, sustainable, local, etc.". But, our stay was "fine". Would we stay there again? Probably not. ON WEDNESDAY MORNING WE awoke to two inches of snow! At sea level! It was beautiful out; everything was blanketed in white. We packed up and headed south through a winter wonderland to Bandon where we got a charge. While there a local guy and his wife came up to the car and explained they lived in town and had recently bought a Tesla. Like all Tesla owners, including ourselves, he couldn't stop talking about it. We arrived in Brookings around noon and had lunch at a somewhat dingy cafe. Then we went to Fred Meyer's (Oregons Target) and bought some wine and few snacks. We checked into our hotel. We had a beautiful room overlooking the ocean. We could watch and listen, to the waves crashing on the shore. We had cocktails...and a bag of potato chips...and some chocolate...we were in for the night. THURSDAY WAS A GLORIOUS, SUNNY morning, from the perch of our room on the shore. After coffee, a bagel and a couple of tangerines we took a nice long walk down the beach and back. The air was freezing cold but the sun was warm; the ocean blue and beautiful. Around noon we went to the restaurant next to our hotel and had lunch; we split a crab Louis and a bowl of clam chowder. The Louis was great, the chowder a bit weak (we're chowder experts now, having sampled it in almost every town on the Oregon Coast). From there we explored Bookings. Actually looking for where they sold "tourist crap" (T-shirts, etc.); apparently they don't have a place; we couldn't find it. We did come across some beautiful coastal vistas though. In the evening, after nearly going blind watching a glorious sunset, we went to Kitanishi Sushi for dinner. We'd been there the last time we were in town (about a year and a half ago) and loved it. It didn't let us down; it was perfect. I ate enough sushi to feed a family of four. Barbara had the teriyaki salmon. ON FRIDAY MORNING WE packed up again and headed south again; this time for Mendocino. The drive along the coast was beautiful, as was the drive through the redwoods. It was a long and winding road though and by the time we reached our destination, we were done. We checked into the Inn at Cobbler's Walk. Patience, our hostess, was anything but; she ran through the map of the property, the amenities and the rules so fast, the only thing I remembered was that we were allowed only one Presto Log per day for our fireplace. I suspect Patience was a former school teacher and a good one at keeping her pupils in line, for when I got out of line by questioning the logic of having our room on one side of the road and all the amenities on the other, she shut me right down, not with these words but with this sentiment: "Now, now Johnny, just calm down. You know we don't allow dissent in our classroom." Our room turned out to be fairly sumptuous, spacious, high-ceilinged and beautiful in a minimalistic way. We were on the west side of highway one; the main house was on the east. And when I say "side of Highway One", I mean ten feet from it. During our stay 864 vehicles rumbled by, 214 needed muffler work. We didn't have a picture window or sliding glass door to look out, we had several windows. Three of them looked at Highway One, the other looked south and gave us a far-away view of the coast, and a close up view into our neighbor's bedroom window. We put our one log in the fireplace and got it going. We had a dinner of sourdough, cheese and salami we'd picked up in Fort Bragg. We had a glass of wine. We were in for the night. WE AWOKE IN THE morning to the storm that'd been forecast. Rain and snow were covering the entire state. We stayed in while it raged outside. Around noon the rain let up so I took the trail to the bluffs (Barbara was too cozy). It meandered through meadows and pines and eventually spilled me out on the cliff above the shore. The sea was churning and crashing on the rocks. It was a lonely but beautiful place. We spent the rest of the day reading; I'd just started "The Simpleton". IN 1542 THE PORTUGUESE EXPLORER, Juan Carrillo, sailed from New Spain (Mexico) up the coast of what is now California to Cape Mendocino. He named it after the Viceroy, Antonio de Mendoza. He was the first European to be in the area. In he 16th century, the Spanish regularly sent ships from Mexico, with ill-gotten gold and silver to trade for silks and spices in the Philippines. The problem was the return trip. They had not discovered favorable winds and currents to make the trip easily. Until, a Captain Urdaneta, sailing the San Lucas, on a hunch sailed north from the Philippines to near Japan before finding the currents and winds he sought. He crossed the Pacific relatively easily (Unfortunately, he hadn't planned well and his stores ran out causing many of his crew to die of hunger and scurvy) and arrived on the North American coast near Cape Mendocino in 1565; opening up a new, lucrative trade route. Another ship, the San Jose, left Manila in 1657. A year later it was found intact and adrift off the coast of Mexico; its crew and passengers all dead and mummified. ON SATURDAY EVENING we walked across the "street" to the main house to partake of the Inn's "Wine Time" and later, a "Farm to Table" dinner. At Wine Time we met a few of the guests and chatted a bit, but at the Dinner we met three very different but very nice couples; all from the Bay Area. One couple was retired; he from the storage shed business, she from teaching the third grade. Another young couple; he in the healthcare insurance business, she in the cyber security business. And another couple; he an attorney, she in healthcare administration. The attorney had, three months ago, taken a crash on his mountain bike at Downeyville (in my opinion he was way too old to be mountain biking) and was badly injured and had to be airlifted out. His neck was still in a brace. He was lucky to be alive and ambulatory. Oh, and by the way, the dinner was unbelievably delicious.
