Controversial take, but the crush plotline being introduced at this time in this way makes sense and helps move the plot forward. (The problems with this plotline are more that it overstays its welcome and takes up too much of Ochako's screen time)
It's logical that Aoyama would pick up on Ochako's crush because he was keeping an eye on Izuku. He doesn't know how Izuku is involved in the All for One/One for All conflict, but because one wrong move could get himself and his family killed, he has to pay attention to Izuku.
And it makes sense Aoyama would bring up the crush here; he is trying to sabotage Ochako's exam and he needs a distraction. Pointing out her high school crush out of the blue is an effective way to accomplish that.
Beyond that, this crush plotline needed to be in play before Toga - Ochako's narrative foil - was introduced.
Anyway, regardless of your thoughts of Izuocha, for a Shounen Jump romantic subplot, it's pretty intertwined with the main storyline.

Do you think traitor!tsukauchi should’ve been kept or traitor!aoyama was the right choice? I think traitor!aoyama could’ve been fine but looking back at its sloppy execution, I wonder if it was a last minute decision. I can only guess that hori wanted to tie in some theme about students deciding to still be a hero despite acts of villainy but after aoyama’s fight conclusion, it didn’t work for me.
I have no problem with traitor!Aoyama, but I think in terms of pacing, it would have been better to have the reveal sometime in Act 2 (maybe around the Cultural Festival arc), when the consequences are still fresh (Bakugou's kidnapping aftermath, the dorm system, the other students being resentful, etc.).
It would have been good to have a bit longer process on what to do with Aoyama, on the class deciding or not to support him, a clash of ideas. Also, at that point Aoyama would have been quirkless alone as Deku's OFA was still a secret, which could have added some extra angst for Deku.
It felt really weak in Act 3, past the point of Deku already deciding to save Tomura. If someone who caused such mass-scale destruction, it would have felt stupid not to forgive Aoyama.
Tsukauchi to me would have been a weak choice. The Class really needed some drama and clash of ideas, also an impetus to think about who is a villain. Now of course the execution was terrible, and the plot point did not serve at all the purpose it was created for. But it's not about swapping the person, but dedicating enough time to explore the topic properly.

“Why are you doing this? Helping me?”
Kurogiri does not know how to answer the question.
The League of Villain's spy is forcefully brought before them. Shigaraki doesn't care about what happens to Aoyama, so he lets the Doctor take him to do whatever he wants. Anything that he wants. And the Doctor wants to make Aoyama into a Nomu.
Something about this situation feels incredibly wrong to Kurogiri. Oboro wants to send Aoyama back home.

Aoyama: You can say "Have a nice day" with no problems, but you can't say "Enjoy your next 24 hours" without sounding vaguely threatening.
Midoriya: It's 3 in the morning how did you get in my dorm?

Concerning the UA Traitor
I love how we as a fandom just collectively forgot that there’s probably very likely another traitor beside Aoyama in the faculty.
And with faculty I mean UA staff.
Now we all know I love my tinfoil head theories, but this actually makes some sense:
Before the traitor reveal there’s been lots and lots of theories about who could be leaking information, not few of them suspecting teachers of the treachery. Those have mostly been dismissed due to lack of emotional investment in these characters (lets not talk about Aoyama and the actual reveal here), but if you look at some of the information AfO had, a traitor or informant with more insight than a newly immatriculated student seems necessary.
Let’s go all the way back to the beginning, and ask a very fundamental question, shall we?
How did All for One know All Might would become a teacher at UA to search for a successor that exact year, early enough to tell Aoyama to apply?
The timeline is a bit messy but: Him becoming a teacher has been decided before he meets Midoriya, so at least a good ten months, more likely about a year before our Heroes start High School.
It’s stated that only the staff knew he’d start working at UA. Midoriya himself only gets to know when he gets accepted after the exams. The media would have probably gone haywire way earlier than the first week of school, had they known.
So where’s the leak? Teacher? Principal? Public Safety Commission? Discuss.

Bello Licentiae Chapter 6: The Saddest People in the World...
Summary:
tw: kidnapping, tight spaces mention, blackmail mention 'text' JSL Text thoughts
Akira sagged into their comfy chair in Inui's office, sluggishly dragging the weighted blanket across their torso so their inflamed legs could get some relief from the heat. ' Murder God said you kept the afternoon free for him. Same deal today? '
Inui softly smiled, "Yes, I wanted to make sure you both had the time you need to express yourselves without the idea of so much time to fill looming over you. How are you adjusting to the dorms?"
Akira looked away from his desk and fiddled with their fidget ball for a moment. ' It's weird. A good weird, I think, but the intense nightmares have stayed longer than usual. '
They talked about Akira's sleep schedule and the possibility of sleep aids, although Akira didn't want to go on sleep aids for risk of not waking up fast enough. Inui pointed out the difficulty anyone would have in infiltrating U.A., but they knew better now. They went over a few new triggers that might show up and a few that were probably aggravated by the kidnapping. Half an hour into the session, Akira started to pick up on the subtle shifts in topic toward earlier in their summer. Whenever they diverted the topic, Inui would lessen the pressure, but Akira knew they needed to talk about it today.
Finally, after Inui asked if their difficulty with tight spaces had gotten worse, better, or stayed about the same recently, Akira relented, ' Definitely worse since I was stuck in a marble. ' They quickly shifted the weighted blanket onto the arm of the chair as the weight became less grounding and more a reminder of being trapped.
Akira took one look at the chaotic cacophony of the common area and sighed, resigning themself to get leftovers later as they made their way to the elevator. Head pounding, they groaned as Ida loudly called out, "Mori! It's important to eat after a stressful day."
Akira turned a half-hearted glare his way as they soldiered on, making it to the elevator as Koji pulled alongside them. The corner of their mouth quirked up at Katsuki yelling back at Ida as they slumped against the elevator wall.
' Do you need company or time alone? I can also bring dinner up for you, ' Koji offered.
Akira held up two fingers and nodded gratefully. They didn't have the spoons left to do much else as they settled into their room and started taking off their aids. Akira left the small speaker on their bedside table in case they had the energy to practice later.
They were almost done with the yakisoba when their phone lit up. After a moment, Akira sighed and sent a thumbs-up. A few minutes later, Aoyama knocked on the door. ' You wanted to talk? ' they signed as he closed the door behind him.
Aoyama's ever-present sparkles dulled and winked out as he leaned against the wall. He flashed a strained smile, "Oui, last night was trés unexpected."
Akira nodded, ' You thought it was over, I'd imagine? ' He recoiled, brows quirking up. They breathed out shakily. ' All for One mentioned a traitor and confirmed it was you as I went through the possibilities. '
"Does Aizawa-sensei know?" Aoyama's face trembled as his eyes darted anywhere in the room but Akira's face.
Come on, you can trust me. Let me switch in. They fidgeted with the Bastard plush, keeping it to the side so he could clearly see their attentive, somewhat open body language. ' Not yet. He's aware of the existence of a traitor among the students, but he was fine with me waiting to tell him until I got the chance to speak with them. Especially after I told him I didn't think the traitor was a willing participant .'
Aoyama's gaze snapped back to them as his face morphed into shock. "But I betrayed everyone," he whispered and sagged further down the wall. "I deserve whatever they see fit."
Akira sharply shook their head and made their way closer, sliding on their crutches as their legs protested the movement. ' Hear me out. Three Quirkless kids dream of being a hero. They learn to hide and stay out of the spotlight as society tries to break them down. One is offered a quirk with a heavy price and drawback. The second is offered a quirk with a heavy price and drawback. The third goes through forced quirk manifestation and gets a quirk with a heavy drawback. '
Aoyama looked up in confusion as Akira paused. "Three?"
Akira nodded, ' All three want to become heroes, and all three forced a foot in the door. Each wants to change the society that betrays and hurts them at every turn. Things didn't change that much, but now they've found a grey area they can make a platform out of.
Now, why is one of them a villain if the others are victims? '
Aoyama shook his head as his eyebrows drew together. "It's different, mon ami! You haven't done anything yet. I gave the camp location away. I found the teacher's schedule. I tried to stop the rescue. I took my quirk from a villain!"
Akira flinched back involuntarily as Aoyama got louder. His expression morphed into resigned but hurt as Aoyama put a hand to his mouth. "It doesn't matter what happened before or how I got to All for One. I've still done heinous things and nearly gotten students and heroes killed. I'm the one who forced All Might to retire."
Akira let themself take a moment to calm their heart as Aoyama shuddered against the wall. ' Sparkles, ' they paused and waited for him to look up enough again to see them. ' You are not alone. I can get you out for good- '
"I can't leave my family," Aoyama interrupted, voice wavering.
Understanding flooded Akira as they hissed in a breath. ' Okay. Then we should go to Eraser .' As his eyes filled with panic, Akira held out a hand. ' He's aware of my arrangement, and if he knows yours, he can help your family. Do you know where they are? '
"Oui," Aoyama said miserably, "they know where we live in Japan."
' It's time you had someone on your side, ' Akira smiled encouragingly. ' Eraser is probably your best chance of getting them out before All for One comes back. Not ,' Akira added as Aoyama's eyes went wide, ' that it's a certainty he will, but it's important to prepare for the possibility. I can go with you if you want the buffer or someone to fill in the details if you get overwhelmed. '
Aoyama nodded and turned to leave only to hesitate. Turning back, he asked, "Is the third Midoriya?"
Akira nodded, ' I assumed his quirk forcibly manifested but apparently not. His situation around getting the quirk is pretty different from what I understand of yours, but that's for him to tell if he wants. Just let me know when you want to talk with Eraser, and I'll be there. '
Notes:
Inui wasn't pressuring them to talk about it, but Akira knew if they didn't talk that day, they'd just get more anxious about it until they blew up or started avoiding therapy entirely. I finally read Aoyama's wiki entry and this poor kid :'( I knew he was nuanced but oh my gods he has it rough. This is a pretty short chapter. I tried to come up with more content, but the scenes are pretty self-contained, and the timeline is tight for this arc. Anything I tried to add either forgot this is only the day after chapter 5 or felt too much like needless filler. This does have my favorite line in Bello Licentiae, though :)

“Now, is that any way to greet your Uncle, Yuuga? I must say, I’m disappointed.”
“Stop- stop it!” Yuuga stammers. This is a trick, it has to be, but who in hell would know about this disgusting connection?! “You’re not here, you’re not real! I don’t have to listen to you anymore!”

Hello there, happy holidays guys 💜
Jumping in the previous post about how Bakugo is getting praised when Aoyama and Lida are right there, I thing the difference between Bakugo and Apyama is very interesting.
Horikoshi tries to make this big deal that Bakugo refuses to be a villain before, but it doesn't work. As mess up as it is, in MHA word, the villains are the underdogs, while you have terrible people like Endeavor celebrated as the second greatest of Japan. Bakugo has everything to loose siding with the villains and all the money, power and fame to gain as a pro hero. The only reason he would have to switch sides was if he was being coerced, but Shigaraki isn't threatening Bakugo, so there's no reason.
Aoyama, on the other hand, showed much more bravery as a side character than Bakugo ever did with all his screen time. Different from Bakugo, he has seen All for One, he knows him and his family are gonna die if doesn't obey him to the letter, and even if he comes forth, his parents could very well be arrested and he could loose his career as pro-hero. So he helps the villains, but then, during the attack on summer camp, Aoyama acts against them. His intervention saved Tokoyama at a huge risk to himself, what is more than Bakugo has ever done.
Pretty much this. Katsuki being praised for not siding with the villains is stupid when you realize that he doesn’t benefit from being one whatsoever. The villains are the ‘losers’ in the world while the heroes are the ‘winners’. There’s absolutely no reason for Katsuki to join them. Meanwhile Yuuga was forced against his own will to be the traitor. “He could’ve not accepted the deal” do we actually know if he accepted it or if it were his parents that did? Yuuga’s ultimately a victim, and while siding with the villains is definitely worthy of punishment, the fact is Yuuga’s done more heroic things as the traitor than Katsuki has despite being one of the good guys.
